It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.

I don't know how to explain to you people that being misgendered in a language you do not speak, and therefore cannot react to being misgendered in, or even be aware of the fact that you're being misgendered in, does not make someone genderfluid. That's not what being genderfluid is.

Other people misgendering you does not mean you're genderfluid.

Please reread The Imperial Radch until you actually understand what is happening in regards to the multiple languages spoken throughout before you start trying to tell people about the characters in these books because you are all (unintentionally) lying to people and all you're going to end up doing is hurting people who go into these books expecting to find genderfluid representation only to see that instead you wildly misinterpreted a character being misgendered as that character actually being genderfluid.

I nodded, "Like yours." They pulled their snow-white hair back, revealing the simple star tattoo behind their jaw. The first one they'd shown me.

I flexed my hand, uncomfortable as it was under the plastic wrapping. Orion's gaze flicked toward it again, and their smile grew into a grin. That was enough for any amount of discomfort.

Back to doing what I love to do, which is talk about this amazing cast while you get to see and meet them a little!

RHPS has a new episode out this week -- I haven’t listened to it yet, but I can 100% guarantee it’ll make you laugh so hard you cry in the best way. Also, it stars Emily C. A. Snyder as CiCi! Emily 1) can keep a character secret SO WELL 2) is so amazingly talented as all forms of CiCi 3) Is also such a sweetheart and one of the nicest and coolest people behind the scenes. Emily’s character portrayal leaves so many of us jealous that we cannot shape shift!

I love all the cast members and groups, but there is something about the ADHD duckling nature of the RHPS group that makes them so much fun to talk about!

I once got attacked for writing a story about gay men when I’m not a gay man, which makes it sound like some people think you can only write about people who are just like you. Why would I only write stories about straight white girls? I think it’s important to write about topics that are interesting to you, not about what are or have personally experienced. So I’m writing about a gay, genderfluid autistic person, because those concepts are interesting to me. I think if I was writing about someone who was just like me, it wouldn’t be nearly as fun.
