While the Torah permits the death penalty, the Talmud, in Tractate Sanhedrin, imposes severe limits on capital punishment even where the crime is murder. Contemporary US laws do not meet the standards for fairness and accuracy as articulated in Jewish law. Today we are writing not about the death penalty as a whole, but about proposed forms of execution. Certainly there are members of Jewish communities in states using the gas chamber who support the death penalty in concept or in practice. However, we stand united in opposition to the introduction of the gas chamber as a form of execution. We do not suggest comparisons to the atrocities of Nazi Germany under which millions of our relatives were murdered, many by suffocation in sealed chambers. Still, we cannot imagine it possible that Jewish communities anywhere could stand by while prisoners are executed by the state in our names, using any variation of that mechanism. Therefore, the undersigned Rabbis, Cantors and other leaders the Jewish community call on you to reject the conduct of executions by suffocation in any sort of gas chamber anywhere in the United States.

It took a while to think of a poisoning prompt that was requested. I thought of many ideas, but nothing really worked how I wanted. Then I thought of this. I hope you enjoy. - Mj

Whumpee dug through the closet for more bleach. Surely there had to be a little more somewhere in there. They needed to clean the tub after all.

They pulled out a jug from the back.

"Am-ammonia?", they read the label, "it says for cleaning."

They looked at the bleach they had poured into their bucket already and then eyed the ammonia.

"I might as well use up the rest of the bleach, and some of this", Whumpee began to mix the chemicals.

With the bucket partially full, they climbed into the tub and started to clean.

A small cough started, but it grew worse and worse as they scrubbed. Their eyes and nose began to burn.

Whumper walked past in time to see Whumpee take a break to wipe their eyes.

"What's going on in here?", Whumper stood at the doorway.

**Cough, cough** "I'm just.... cleaning", Whumpee felt like they were fighting to breath.

Whumper glanced at the empty bleach bottle and almost mentioned it when they noticed the ammonia bottle.

They ran to the bathroom window and quickly opened it, grabbed Whumpee, and rushed out of the bathroom.

Whumper looked at Whumpee sternly, "did you, uh, did you by chance mix the bleach with something else?", Whumper frowned as Whumpee nodded.

"What did you use?"

"I couldn't find anymore bleach, and I didn't want to bother you", Whumpee looked at them frightened, "I found something called am-ammo..."

"Ammonia", Whumper nodded, "congratulations, you created chloramine gas. You're not supposed to mix chemicals like that idiot."

"Oh", Whumpee looked down, "I didn't know that, I'm sorry."

Whumper groaned, "are you feeling okay?"

"I can breath a little better now", Whumpee thought, "my throat and nose still burn though."

Whumper pinched the bridge of their nose in frustration, "I don't think you were around the fumes enough to have any real damage, but you really need to ask before doing stupid stuff like that."

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to bother you though", Whumpee looked down, "I'm really sorry."

Whumper sighed, "okay I'm going to go dispose of the mixture. I'll get more bleach, and then you can clean the tub."

Whumpee nodded, "what should I do right now then?"

"Go stand on the back porch for a few minutes and breath in some fresh air", Whumper pulled up their shirt over their nose and started back to the bathroom."

A few minutes later, Whumper came out to the back porch and coughed a few times before taking a few deep breaths of air.

"I sprayed down the tub, and the chemicals are safely poured into the toilet and flushed", Whumper sat down, "I left the window open to air it out for a while."

Whumpee nodded, "I'm sorry again."

Whumper sighed, "it's okay. You didn't know any better. Next time, please just ask, I don't mind answering questions like that. I probably would have had you wait until I got more bleach. Let's not turn my house into a gas chamber please."

Whumpee nodded again.

the boy in striped pajamas: my sentiments

rating: 9.8/10

warnings: spoilers ahead + emotional damage (be prepared)

this was in my bucket list for quite some time, and i’ve only gone around to watching it a few days ago. to be frank, i’m still recovering, and i’ll probably never truly recover from this drastically touching cinematic masterpiece.

bruno was the son of an auschwitz’s commandant who moved his family to the countryside for work duties. in my eyes, bruno’s character was so beautifully human. unbothered by the atrocities currently happening, he remains curious and compassionate within his little bubble of innocence. he questions unashamedly, about the strange horrid smell coming from the “farm's” chimneys, (from the burning of jews), about the numbers on shmuel’s so-called pajamas (a jewish boy whom he had befriended).

unfortunately, purity never sustains in our blood-wrenched world. in the end, bruno’s death was a karmic result of the nazi regime, and his father’s ignorance and failure to protect him. it saddens me deeply knowing he died believing his father was a rightful man. he died thinking he’d find shmuel’s father in the concentration camps. he died so unknowingly. what breaks me the most, was he died gripping the hands of his beloved friend, shmuel, inside that gas chamber. i’m not lying when if i tell you i cried for three hours straight after this movie. it’s infuriating, knowing this wasn’t just made-up, stuff like this has happened, and honestly, they’re still happening! how could anyone let these children be stripped away of their humanity and futures like this? how does ethnic identity completely decide your social mobility? how is it justifiable in any way for genocide to even be worshipped?

therefore it’s such a provoking thought knowing if we could just entirely eradicate everything we’ve known about something and approach it through our intrinsic nature, perhaps we would've been so much more connected to our roots: to merge into a mere species, the human race. sometimes i wonder if current and past societies removed all the societal structures, the ingrained bigotries and biases within themselves, would racism and exclusion of marginalized groups ever exist in the first place? would i be able to kiss a person without the fear of being discriminated against? would the gender wars between man and woman become an incomprehensible notion? would we be able to finally collectively strive for the common greater good? would the generation of our offspring still have to worry about whether they’re going to be competent enough for the work market? so many questions and none can be answered. so many voices and none were heard. so many potentials, but none fulfilled.

overall, the film articulately depicts the true horrors of war and the tragic consequences it enforces. every scene was so raw, so full of emotions and authenticity. i would watch this again, probably just to feel something, even if i might be more emotionally damaged from being reminded of the devasting aftermath of bruno and shmuel’s forbidden comradeship.

any thoughts on ever doing a mock gas chamber execution or how do you think you would go about it if it was requested?

We are really so busy at this point that I doubt we will get to a Gas Chamber Execution.

The only way I can think of would be a chair mounted in a shower stall and then use dry ice or a fog machine to create a visible gas cloud .

Okay, about that gas chamber thing, which everyone started worrying about.

I don't know if William has been canonically putting children in the gas chamber to explore the power of fear or something. The only things we know is that Afton *did* murder kids and there's something about gas in games as well.

In the "Sister location" we can notice a lot of gas tanks plus, as we know, the pizzeria was reported to be shut down because of a "gas leak" (even though that's not true).

Also in the FNaF 3 we also deal with some gas leak, which causes the hallucinations of Phantoms.

So yeah. I actually hardly believe that William did this to children and that's not because I'm trying to justify him (despite that I would like to, haha). Of course, he is a bad guy in this story and stuff but, come on, we know that his main goal is an immortality and I'm not sure that he could.. "produce" some remnant with help of children's fears. And he didn't use this "method" on children during the incident in 1985, because there was no reports about gas leaks etc. And attributing such horrible things to him just because he is an awful person just.. has no sense, I think.

But it's obvious that hallucinogenic gas takes huge place in this story. Yeah.
