We need to go back to our roots and start searching through the tags for fanfiction gems and reblogging them. I'm not talking about posts that have 1k notes and above, I'm talking about a 2018 fic with like 14 notes that scratches the itch you've been looking for all your life. I'm talking about new writers, up and coming who are looking for a leg up in the community.

If people didn't search for my fics and reblog them, I would have given up on this account a long time ago. Let's read outside our circle and bring fresh ideas and fresh faces. If we popularize fics, then the porn link epidemic and shit about low interactions will fizzle out. We often talk about getting low interactions, but think back to the last time you read a fic outside your circle and reblogged it with tags and comments?

I've cut mostly the entire message. Anon, if you see this, it's not because I had an issue with what you said, on the contrary. But I'm also actively trying not to fall into the trap of talking about the same thing for days to the risk of repeating myself when I've made my points. I said what I had to say about the songs, I have no interest in the upcoming album and that's it.

But I do want to address the last part that is in the screenshot. I know it's something that is in our mind constantly because we're part of it or we criticize it regularly, but we need to stop considering the fandom with all its brances the center of our experience with music in kpop and in particular with idols we talk about regularly. As much as we are led to believe that being a fan is a communal experience (and it is to some degree), it is also a personal experience. If we forget that part, it's like ignoring a fundamental aspect. First of all, it's us as individuals listening to music, watching a performance, liking or disliking it, the time and money we invest. To me, that's more important than what a fandom believes or likes. Why would I let a group mentality govern or influence my experience? Being in a fandom is one part of the experience, not the center of it all.

So when you or anyone talks about what's important to a fandom, my response is "so what?" So what if they care about popularity? In the particular situation we're talking about here that has always been the case. There's nothing wrong with the concept of popularity in the context of pop culture and consequently pop music, I mean it's in the name(!) If that translates for the fandom into numbers only while ignoring everything else and going through hoops to justify bad taste (when you do it for years, it becomes second nature), then that's it.

For your piece of mind and my own too (because I get frustrated as well), this has to stop. Complaining is good, but it becomes a vicious circle. I don't care what army says or believes. I don't care what the separate fandom of people I like has to say. I care about what I have to say, what music/art the idol is putting out and my own experience with it.

Ever since the last episode I can’t get this idea out of my head. 

Tol has started remembering things. I wonder if he could remember one of the previous crashes because he was getting close to his death or if it was because he’s getting closer to Tin in a deeper way if you know what I mean.

My theory is, what if Tin dies first? Like, remember the short of ghost or spirit that we saw of Tol in episode 4? He knew about the time loops and was so relieved to see Tin. I think that that Tol is a version of one of the future time loops. But in his loop Tin might be in danger of dying instead of Tol. 

So, what if Tin is dying and Tol, knowing/remembering about the loops, provokes his own death/heart attack to restart the loop and save Tin? Hence why he was so relieved to see him ok in ep 4 and why he was like “take care of my heart”.

16 A Fanfic Trope You're Very Picky About

Enemies to lovers, probably.

It is very hard to write a good one - requers a lot of balancing throughout the plot of the story. Usually, those we hate, we do so because of the difference in our believes, morality and ethical questions. So it is rather hard to look past that, very toxic too. If so, then one of the characters (or both) have to go through a Change - learn how to think, operate and act differently, reflect the world and on their relationships with other characters. Eventually it may develop into a good character growth, though it would not be enemies-to-lovers, it would be enemies-to-unlikely colleages-to-friends-to-lovers. Much less toxic, much more a healthy relationship development. Annoying competition to lovers - yes, rather plausible. It does not implement hard emotions like hate.

So, cheers to those who like this trope, but for me it sounds like two characters just have a lot of pent up energy and just need a simple fucking, no love involved.

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.
