For the DSMP Blade System AU, I've mentioned in previous posts that most things stay the same pre-Staged Finale, with the exception of minor details and motivations (for example, we are hand-waving all non-canon deaths of any Blade or Driver that happened). But if c!Dream has differing motivations for the Plan, why is Staged Finale still happening in this AU?

c!Dream and c!Punz need some peace to work on part of the Plan. Now, Doomsday got rid of L'Manberg, but nobody actually died and frankly neither of them trust the old members of the government not to try another execution attempt, this time hunting Dream down. There is also Tommy to consider

Dream has to protect George. George cannot be uncovered as Dream's Driver, in large part because people tend to forget Blades have their own agency.

Keep Punz and EW!Ranboo safe. The plan needs to shift suspicion of helping Dream off of them. Neither of them should be suspected of being Dream's Driver, either.

Related to point 1, they need to track down an Aegis. That is not going to happen without having time with nobody bothering them.

Testing the Memory Patch isn't very easy with a non-compliant test subject.

In order for Dream to have any peace, he must either be imprisoned (Pandora's Vault has been built, but putting Dream in there would detract from it's eventual use for it's true purpose) or he needs to die. Given that c!Tommy is certainly going to get himself involved in some way, Dream is pretty certain he's going to die. He just needs to make sure it is in front of enough of the server that news of him being a Blade gets out, and that whatever he's killed for makes George unlikely to come forward as his Driver.

See, the thing about Blades is that their core crystals count as items. And there is a lot (so much) internalized prejudice that strips Blades of their agency. It's nonsense, of course. Anybody who's watched Skeppy and Bad's relationship for 5 minutes understands that Blades are their own people, and they do not have to (or always want to) do everything their Driver tells them to do.

Dream figures that the first thing people are going to do after figuring out he is a Blade is assume he is a "Bad Person" because he has a "Bad Driver." And that the second question, after "Who was Dream's first Driver?" will be "Who should be Dream's next Driver, to ensure that he is a Good Person?"

To be fair, he's not wrong. The Skeppy Cage exists in this one too, and no one questions it either.

Dream has faith that the Memory Patch is working. That it will work for him. But the problem is that it is removable. There isn't any guarantee of perfect recall, either. And it needs to be perfect, if it is going to be used as the cornerstone of The Plan.

The Plan, here, has 2 phase. Phase 1 is completing a version of the Memory Patch that can be added to the general Universal Patch Updates. Dream and Punz need to complete the code, which takes time and no distractions. They need to find an Aegis (neither of them have figured out Phil yet) to add their code to the Patch Update. Also other reasons (the Egg). Phase 2 is immortality and the server reset (after the Memory Patch has gone out).

So the script for the Staged Finale is:

lure Tommy and Tubbo

lie about a bunch of stuff (including killing Tubbo) to get Tommy mad enough to kill

have Punz lead the others through the Nether portal, removing doubts of his potential loyalty to Dream.

Tommy kills Dream, revealing Dream is a Blade (Punz will loudly point this out, to make sure everyone understands)

leave a bunch of "dangling threads" in the form Dream's Driver, what the Driver's potential plans are as wild goose chases (George will not be a suspect because the dethronement wouldn't have happened if Dream was George's Blade /s)

Punz leaves while people argue about Dream's core crystal. He waits on the other side of the Nether portal, passive ability turned to max so people don't realize he didn't leave

EW!Ranboo takes advantage of the argument to sleight-of-hand the core crystal. He goes through the Nether portal, hands the core crystal off to Punz, and then leave Ranboo in the Nether with the note that Dream is a Blade and the shock presumably caused the memory loss for the day. Ranboo is now no longer a suspect.

Dream is reAwakened as Punz's Blade, experiments can continue. Even if other people on the server see him, they assume that he is a completely new person/has no memory.

Another rant about c!Dream

It’s also how much c!Dream is willing to sacrifice for his goal that makes me insanely curious about what his plan is. 

Now a lot of people would say that he wants power, but if that were true, he’s going about it the total wrong way and would have a fundamental misunderstanding about how people work. But I don’t think that could be it because of how many of his plans worked because he knew how people would react to certain things and how people perceive him (such as the disc finale). The right way to go about getting power would be to follow in c!Wilbur’s footsteps, rally people around a common enemy and build up the persona of a great leader. But he’s not doing that.

Some would still say that he doesn’t care about being popular and just wants control, but c!Dream is smart enough to have successfully pulled off staging the disc finale, surely he knows that taking power by force NEVER works for long. 

So what does he want? One of the theories as to why c!Dream might have staged the finale was to bring the server together by giving them a common enemy, himself. So if everyone teamed up together to put him in prison, they’d unite. If he got out, they’d unite to take him down. Is his plan really to be perpetually be on the run in the hopes that everyone would unite to try to take him down? Somehow I don’t think that’s it. It just doesn’t make sense that c!Dream would be smart enough to pull off the disc finale, but unable to see that the server doesn’t ever stay united for long, even if they have a common enemy. 

So what is his plan? What is it that makes sacrificing everything worth it? Losing all his friends with c!Punz and (probably) ew!Ranboo being the only exception. Willingly giving up 2 of his canon lives and his freedom. Committing heinous crimes of which he fully understands their severity. But if it’s to further his plan, it’s all worth it. It makes me insanely curious to know what the plan is. It makes me wonder, is there something bigger at play?

Would it be accurate to assume that in your Dreamon Improv AU that EW!Ranboo's real, non-Dreamon-possessed personality would be closer to say, Origins SMP Ranboo in terms of reference? Or am I totally wrong?

I'll be honest, I haven't watched Origins, so I wouldn't know anything about that.

EW!Ranboo acts a lot like well, EW!Ranboo! He's really not that different from c!Ranboo, he's a lot more confident in himself, a bit more hotheaded, a bit more prone to aggression, more sensitive to eye contact, etc.

The biggest changes post-getting undreamonified are that ew!Ranboo really does not like getting bossed around or even people telling him what to do. He'll respond to it aggressively since he's got a lot of issues steming from the dreamon letting other people push him into things he wasn't okay with doing (hog hunt, c!Dream attempted execution).

That, and both c!Ranboo and c!Dream have developed a deep fear of sleeping post-possession. But that's kinda complicated in it's own right.

Summary: Ran and reader move in to their 1st house together and have a dance in the kitchen

Sun poured through the windows as you and ran opened boxes in the kitchen. Having just moved in hours earlier it looked rather empty but music filled the halls. You turned round to see your boyfriend sprinting towards you, he slipped round the corner and skidded to a halt, landing in your arms. "Hello love" you said as you looked up, coming face to face with a giddy smile. "Care to dance m'lady? A celebration if you will" he straightened up and extended his hand. "To us and our new house" "to us!"

With both hands interlinked with his, you started to spin as 'fine' by lemon demon filtered through the speakers. 'Light is on the way, we'll be having a fun time' He continues to twirl you round, occasionally bringing you in close, and you get glimpses of his smile. The way his eyes light up is adorable, how something so simple can make him so happy, yet you can't resist either, a grin now spreading across your face too. 'It's such a lovely day, we should pocket the sunshine' The song continues on and so do you, feeling your excitement rising with every twist and spin, losing sight of ran for only a second before turning back to meet his beaming smile. You feel elated, so free and happy, this house is all yours, together, so beautiful and homey. 'Everything works out nice in the end,The sun will marry the moon' As the music fades out ran pulls you in closer, still smiling just as wide. He gently cups your face in his hands and plants his lips on yours. You smile into the kiss and ran melts- he melts into your touch as you wrap your arms round him and as you move them up into his hair, he leans in further. You pause to breathe for a moment and ran rests his forehead against yours, taking a moment to admire your features. He draws you back in for one last passionate kiss and as you feel your hands connect with his, you feel like you are truly home.

Do you guys ever think about how (as far as we know) c!Tubbo arguably made the right choice by deciding to never open up to c!Ranboo... Because c!Ranboo (when Enderwalking) retains all his memories and works alongside c!Dream anyway. So although c!Tubbo doesn't know it, his paranoia is actually keeping him safe, because the less info c!Ranboo knows the less he has the ability to tell c!Dream... Not that c!Ranboo necessarily would, but it sucks that like... c!Tubbo probably beats himself up for not wanting to share anything with his sweet and loyal husband, not even knowing that sharing the wrong stray detail about c!Tommy could have caused something disastrous. Like c!Tubbo was right to be a closed book and that shit hurts to think about!!!

for aforementioned gem au. fusions. techno is known to be Good At It. he's awesome at pretending to be put together enough. He can put aside whatever is going on for the task at hand. (there is, also, an aspect of being A Means To An End but he says he doesn't need to worry about that until it bubbles over and he does have to worry about that.). Phil + Techno are called Watermelon Malachite and they have this absolutely down.

Ranboo is the opposite end of the spectrum and he is awful at it. They try sometimes. Phil tries to teach him and Techno tries to teach him and I'm not sure if Tubbo is a gem but if he was they try because it's #Romantic (and Tommy says c'mon man it's easy, don't you trust me, ohh wait you just fuse with Tubbo don't you). He can't do it. It simply does not take.

Until Ranboo gets poofed for wayyy too long and they put his gems in his room. He is NOT coming out. (He is afraid because of identity reasons. Experiments analogous). Eventually Phil and Techno are like ... .... he's not like Dead are they. So they try fusing w/ him as a last resort (As shown is possible in EP Change your mind, for some reason)

Except now Technoblade is stuck in Ranboo's subconscious as well . He has to talk and coax him out, heartfelt conversation which is absolutely the strong suit of both parties,

and my long and convoluted explanation for why No ranboo doesn't fuse. but also peerpress fusion is a very fancy Eudialyte (That exists consciously for a whole 3 minutes of Hey! That's neat! before becoming unstable and unconsciously for an undetermined amount of time facedown on ranboo's floor)

You and your crew were getting ready to film a new video, billzo was really tired because he was playing all night.

"I’m so tired" he said closing his eyes.

"I literally told you to not spend that much time on your pc last night Bill" you answered, laughing a bit because seeing your boyfriend like that was really funny to you.

His arms were wrapped around your waist, his head resting on your neck.

You sat down for a minute, waiting for Ranboo and Jack to install everything.

billzo followed you on the floor and looked at you.

"I’m tired y/n" he said "Please let me sleep on your shoulder for a moment" he surprisingly asked.

To be honest, he never asked before showing his affection.

"Why would you ask Bill?" you said, laughing slightly at him.

"I don’t even knooow" he said, cut by a yawn.

He put his head on your shoulder and starts closing his eyes.

You were talking to him, he was just groaning as a yes or a no.

His eyes were closed and you could feel the weight of his head getting heavier on your shoulder as his breath was getting slower.

You started stroking his hair and you were smiling, you took a selfie, of course you had to show twitter that.

"look at them, such a cute couple" Jack said, smiling like a fool.

"Ew, love" Ranboo said while laughing.

You smiled at them while showing off your middle finger.

You had a half-asleep billzo on your shoulder "Your shoulder is very very comfortable my dear y/n" he finally said.

You laughed and decided to stay like that until Ranboo and Jack got ready.

Flufftober 8 - Need A Hand? (Love languages)

You’re talking with Wilbur, waving your hands animatedly in the air, when you sense the shift. It's subtle, like the ripple of a breeze, but it's enough. It tells you Tommy's behind you and definitely about to hug you.

And yup, he does.

Arms snaking around your middle, head resting atop yours. He's warm, like always. You can't help but relax into him. Wilbur, Phil, Ranboo, and Tubbo are the only ones he's this touchy around. You suspect it's because of his whole "big man" shtick.

To your credit, you don’t stop talking. "-It's just bizarre! Who even does that?!"

Wilbur eyes you with amusement.

"Wankers, man." He answers. "Hey Tommy."

"Phil went to get us food." Tommy tells you two, and you can feel his words. 

It's been a long day with a lot of filming. He's probably tired and desperately wanting physical contact seeing as he couldn't be overly affectionate on camera. Which explains him right now. 

"We didn't give him our orders." You point out.

"I told him what you wanted and just hoped he knew what Wil wanted." Of course Tommy knew what you’d get. "What? Wil, why are you staring at me like that?"

To suppress your smile, you try to bite your lip. It's really unsuccessful, and Wilbur gives a small laugh.

"You're a cute couple."

If this had been Tommy at the beginning of you dating, he would've rocketed away. Probably blurt some curse words. But instead, he seems to sink further into you. At this point it must look absolutely ridiculous.

You don’t care at all.

"Next up you have to find someone to date." You tell Wilbur. "Honestly, it's quite sad that we have more game than you."

Tommy snickers. "Yeah, Wilbur. Do you need some relationship advice? Hmm? We're the masters."

"Fuck you." Wilbur bites. "You look stupid."

"And you don't?"

"I-" He starts to sputter.

"Exactly." Tommy huffs, straightening up.

Subconsciously you chase his warmth, leaning back and up just a little. Somehow Tommy notices the subtle movements and takes his spot again.

"How do you deal with him? And… this?" Wilbur asks you.

"Eh. I love it." You blurt.

"...ew." He says, turning away. "That's enough of you two for now."

When Phil comes back with all their food, Tommy's forced to unravel himself from you. 

"Cute, mate." Phil notes.

"Fuck off."

"You are an absolute dumbass." You deadpan, backing away from Tommy slowly.

"Who? Me?" He grins back at you, eyes sparkling.

Hell no. Without much thought to it, you turn tail and books it out of there. Within seconds his footsteps are following you, echoing loudly on the sidewalk as you both sprint through the streets of Brighton.

After a second, you realize you’ve wound yourself through the grass park. And, of course, you realize this right before Tommy tackles you and tries to murder you.

Okay, that's an overstatement. He tackled you, yes, but quite gently for Tommy. And when they went down, he made care to be the one hitting his ass on the grass.

Either way, you both get the wind knocked out of you.

"Fuck." You wheeze, rolling onto a patch he isn't occupying.

"Sorry." Is his similarly wheezing response.

Tommy regains his breath quick, leaving you struggling to intake air. Really, it's unfair how fast he regains it.

"I'm going to kill you."

"Hey! We can talk about-" he lets out a yelp when you send an elbow his way, careful it doesn't actually connect.

You move closer to him, and he cautiously tugs you so that youre resting your head on his shoulder. Perhaps with a little too much caution than your elbow warranted.

"You're okay?" He asks, somewhat sheepishly.

"Yeah, fine." You quickly answer, propping yourself up on your elbow to overlook him.

"I swear I didn't mean for us to hit the ground so hard."

"It's okay Toms, I know." 

He still looks mildly worried though, so you press a quick kiss to his lips. Before pulling back and laughing.

"What? What?!" He questions.

"You've got so much grass in your hair!"

You run a hand through it, ruffling his hair to try and get it all out.

"So do you!" He protests, ducking away from your hand.

"I make it looks fashionable, you look like you're about to transform into a blade of grass."

He gapes at you, mock-offended. "How. Fucking. Dare. You."

"I look fine right? This isn't stupid?" Tommy asks, frowning at his reflection in the mirror.

You sigh, walking around him to block his sight of himself. He's been staring at himself for ten minutes already, stalling the video. It was technically a prank video, making Tommy nervous as fuck.

"Yes, you look fine. It is stupid, and that's why it's perfect." You tell him.

Reaching out, you help fold and flatten his collar. He holds perfectly still for once, watching you as you fix it. 

Part of you wonders if this is how he'll look when you get married. If he'll wear a similar black tuxedo, the same white button up. He hasn't asked you to marry him yet. You aren’t sure if you care or not. You don't need a ring and some vows to establish your love for each other.

But still. Eventually, one day, you’d like to marry him.

"Perfect." You hum, stepping back. "See?"

"I feel like a kid playing dress up." He scowls.

"Because you are playing dress up, Toms. Come on, you were so excited."

"I know, I still am! Just... what if he doesn't take it well?"

"Tubbo's your best friend. Take it well or not, it'll be fine." 

Tommy nods, tugging on his suit jacket. "Okay. Let's do this."
