World reference for my Bee fanfic

So I decided to post a bit of information about how the world in my au works! Almost everything here is not a spoiler, but there will be some religious stuff that hasnt been talked about yet in the fic

Magic is a fluctuating thing, and there are time periods with lots of magic and time periods with almost no magic. There was a very long time with almost no magic, but as the puppets were brought to life and the years following there was a magical boom to explain it that way

There are different “species”, humans (magic and non-magic), humanoid hybrids which look very close to humans except for some few key features, demi-human hybrids where key features are drastically changed (centaurs, satyrs, avians), pseudo-humans where they look a lot like humans but definitely aren't (like slimes), demi-gods, and gods

There are a myriad of gods, and just like in the real world not everyone follows all of them and some choose not to believe/be religious (a couple of characters are religious in my story though, some are not). Owen was a “religion-jumper”, trying to find a god or goddess willing to help him bring his creations to life. When he couldn't find any that could help him the way he wanted he went for the voodoo spell… Unluckily for both him and the puppets, that spell became powered by something far more sinister and dangerous

Mortimer and Daisy are religious but follow different gods. Bee prays occasionally but doesn't really consider herself religious. Riley, Nick, and Scout are not religious

Spirits are also a thing, both helpful and dangerous ones, as well as those who practically do nothing but just exist. Milo is by definition a neutral/helpful spirit, as his “species” show up to help those experiencing grief, but also doesn't have anything against the dark or mysterious. They usually leaves after a while, but Milo has just stuck around cuz he doesnt feel like he is done yet

The Institute is a well known organization, at the same time as almost no one knows exactly what they do. Similar to the SCP foundation (which does not exist in this universe (probably)), they secure and protect, but do not contain anything or anyone. Mainly they do clean up after magical accidents, keep an eye on areas suspected of harmful magic and entities, and are the biggest advocate for magical beings´ rights

I just wanna state that Anthony Pierson was just really dense and the kind of guy to ignore everything around him (even if it was paranormal and served his interest), and the reason he even stuck around for the Handeemen studio is because the demon thought he would be a fitting host for Mortimer eventually (there exist other people like Anthony who somehow ignore the magic, but it's become much rarer)

There are some minecraft things in here (definitely not from my dream smp (sbi) phase).... However, what you would kinda expect of a minecraft-esque world is kinda in the past, so no crafting, redstone, or access to the Nether or the End… Potions is a thing though, and many hybrids have traits from different minecraft mobs. Minecraft is a game as well, but in this world it's more realistic than our world with items in-game

What's Techno in the SCP au?? I saw "SCP" and "SBI" in the same post and immediately got excited-

listen ive been excited to talk about this for ao long but i always get sidetracked when i actually write—

SO! so basic lil things about scp techno, or SCP-20538:

NOT phil's son, suprisingly enough

instead, he is part of a small pantheon of death deities (kristin, aka the lady death herself, phil, the god of peaceful passing, and himself, the god of bloodshed/slaughter)

he's a keter contained at site-06-4, somewhere off coast of florida

the most recent person directly in charge of containment is dream, who himself might be a little anomalous but thats redacted wink wink

despite being stuck for years, the foundation doesnt know his name is techno, bc he refuses to tell them

((dream and him are kiiiiiiind of friends tho?? they do vibe))

their site director is sam

his containment is high priority due to the fact that since his containment in [DATA EXPUNGED], there has been *noticeable* drop in violent conflict across the world

not completely, but *noticeably*

bad for the world, and the head of his containment, his object class changes from keter to uncontained sometime during the story after a visit from a little raven :)

other Fun Things :))))

remember the hound army he had at one point? bc i do

he doesnt need to be wherever the conflict is to influence it, he just sends his dogs, whixh is why the world didnt get 100% peaceful during his years at site-06-4

theres always stray dogs after all :)))

he cant use them to communicate the same way phil can do with his ravens

you might have been screaming at me that "phil has crows not ravens!!". he has both now. crows cant talk to anyone but him and work the same as technos dogs/hounds, working in their steed when they are stuck bc of the foundation

... what animal can techno use to send messages then? bunnies

he has hounds, can send messages via rabbits, wears a boar skull, appears where blood is shed, so you could say that the theme here is—

he's a god of the hunt

sometime after SCP-20538 breaches containment, a junior researcher at site-06-8, united kingdom, one dr wilbur soot (phd) runs into an incredibly awkward young man who introduces himself as techno beck :))

Scp Au

y’all seemed to RLLY like my first au (the bodyguard one, pls check it out if you havent seen it i love them) so have an scp au.

2. Scp Au

Techno/222-A-1: Techno is a 19-year-old who can convert any type of energy into kinetic energy. He doesn't mind using his powers, especially if he believes something is wrong with his friends. Currently lives in a mansion in Greenland with the rest of Scp 222-A, which is heavily guarded. Has a great relationship with everyone from 222-A, seeming as an older brother figure to 222-A-2 and 222-A-4 and as a younger brother/son to 222-A-3. Mostly sarcastic to the both of them, yet gives good advice when needed. Due to the circumstances of 222-A-4's powers, is the most powerful of the four.

Wilbur/222-A-2: Wilbur is a 21-year-old that has Manipulation using his voice, yet can easily be avoided if the person who he is trying to manipulate has a strong headspace, and if singing while using an instrument the manipulation gets heavier, although he has to be singing/talking to the person during the whole process of manipulated. Also doesn't mind using his powers, as long as it's used for what his interpretation of good is, or for showing off in public for the many fans they've gained. Has several instruments at his home in Greenland. Also has a great relationship with the rest of 222-A, as a seemingly younger brother to 222-A-1, a son to 222-A-3, and seems to be an older brother to 222-A-4. Acts incredibly sarcastic and sometimes rude to the rest of 222-A, but the group seems to take it as a joke, yet if needed, can help any of the others whether they like it or not (ie, making them to go to sleep, making them take a break from working, etc.). Seems to be the second-most-powerful, not including 222-A-4.

Phil/222-A-3: Phil is a 26-year-old that has Wings that are easily retractable and are hidden in his back. Takes pills daily that help with the pain, provided by the foundation. Doesn't mind showing his powers if needed to go somewhere or transport something, or if fighting someone for any reason. Has an amazing relationship with the rest of 222-A, acting as an older brother/father to the group. Constantly scolding them if they get in trouble, and always making sure they're okay and happy. Is the second least powerful of 222-A, if 222-A-4 were ti be included, but doesn't seem to mind.

Tommy/222-A-4: Tommy is a 16-year-old who seems to have telekinesis, energy manipulation, and some form of neuroelectric interfacing that allows him to read thoughts and also give his targets waking nightmares. Due to some events that happened before 222-A was found by the foundation, 222-A-4 refuses to use his powers. Has never used his powers since what the others titled as 'the incident', which seemed to permanently scar him. Has a great relationship with the rest of 222-A, acting like a younger brother to 222-A-1 and 222-A-2, and as a son to 222-A-3. If he used his powers, he could be considered the most powerful of the group, and quite possibly half of the compound.

You ever associate someone/something(like an app/social media) with a certain thing/fandom so much it's hard to:

a) see them do something else that isn't remotely similar to it

b) watch someone else do something that's remotely similar to it

Like we've associated: -Markiplier with horror(more specifically FNaF, Slender, and SCP) -Thinknoodles with Minecraft and Poptropica -DanTDM with Minecraft -PM Seymour and Michaela Laws with Tumblr, shitposts, and voice acting(also MyStreet) -Aphmau with roleplay, voice acting, and anime -Kubz Scouts with Yandere Simulator

Like okay yeah they do other content Like Mark does co-op games with Bob, Wade, and Jack. PM does art and has their own series. Think does Roblox and horror. Dan does reactions. Michaela does playthroughs. Jay does horror. Aphmau's relatively the same/lh/nm but she did have that roblox and gacha life "phase"

Like we'll always support their content no matter what, but literally at the same time we tag them to what we know and what we grew up with/found them through.

Like we grew up with Mark playing FNaF Thinknoodle's Noodle Planet, DanTDM's lab, Aphmau's Minecraft Diaries and MyStreet. We found Jay through Yandere Simulator, PM and Michaela through MyStreet and Tumblr

Same with StampyLongNose and iBallisticSquid. We associate them immediately back to Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and early days of PC. Yeah they're going back to them and Stampy doesn't stray too far from Minecraft, but at the same time? That's all we really recognise them for.

Everyone can have their own interests, but that's just. How we associate content creators-

Like, we're always going to associate our friends with fandoms.

Those from @magicemyt's community are gonna be associated with MagicEm, Dream SMP(mostly Bench Trio, SBI, and the Dream Team/Muffinteers{also the ships/joke ships}), fanfics(mostly Ao3 and Wattpad), Genshin Impact, Cookie Run Kingdom, and Gacha. @lunas-asks-and-reblogs is aways going to be associated with Undertale/Delta Rune(+AUs), FNaF(that is how we found each other), and Homestuck. And in the future I'm 99% sure we're going to associate @sktls-ig with Encanto(more specifically Bruno).

Like pogchamp, have your special interests! Be unique! But at the same time please understand I am literally going to be slow as fuck when things change.

I really appreciate how 99% of the time Scp Philza is giving the most sage-like mental health advice. Because that last 1% is the most unhinged crap imaginable, like adopting a child he just met to cope with his spiraling life or copious amounts of murder. I’m pretty sure if the rest of SBI actually went to him to get help the vast majority of their problems, traumas, and complexes could be straightened out. But there would also be new problems to deal with of the bloody viscera pile variety.

He sure can’t solve an ethical dilemma neatly, but he’s one hell of a therapist. His methods mostly boil down to ungodly patience and a slight obsession with fixing other people’s lives to solve his own, but Phil sure does get results.

devil town by hoorayy (which I’ve already sent once but deserves to be sent again) is a really cool supernatural au centered around tubbo, techno, and quackity (mostly)

Still and Quiet (lest you wake the monsters) by Deltia is almost like an scp type au centered around Quackity and it’s been my favorite thing for a little bit

Human Error by teeth_eater is a great SBI alien au where tommy gets abducted

the comfort in worshiping a perfect god by radished has great techno and quackity interactions along with just good vibes and writing

Hush Now by CorpseArt is the best superhero au ever and you should definitely go read it because it is really good

When the End Calls

Tubbo knows some things for certain: he was found in a box; everyone else thinks his parents abandoned him; he's got magic, which is a problem when the God of the Overworld has banned it and one of His Champions lives in L'Manburg; one of the founders of L'Manburg takes great issue with the magic ban; Tubbo's got friends and allies all around him, including Tommy; things are more complicated than they seem; the End has been sealed.

Still and Quiet (Lest you wake the monsters)

Quackity had always drawn the short stick in life until he was picked up by Schlatt off the streets to become something greater. Little did he know he'd become the center of attention of a piglin, one of the most terrifying specimens in Schlatt Industry's Main and most hazardous facility.

Human Error (series)

Tommy Innit may not be the most well-behaved kid or even the best person at times, but he certainly deserves better than to be abducted by aliens. Luckily for him, the aliens didn't seem to expect him to be able to break out of the stupid cage they stuffed him in and destroy their ship from the inside out.

Now he just has to figure out where to go from here.

the comfort in worshipping a perfect god

There are rumours of a small town down near west where the Blood God resides. Quackity likes this town- it’s fun, charming, and loud with passion and for the most part, kind. From the years Quackity’s been here, he knows the layout of the streets and personalities around the block and is proud to say he’s befriended the coolest people on this side of the country. It’s serene. Normal, even, though he does find the whole Blood God thing funny.

Screw it, gonna give out my top 10 favourite AUs I have outta my 100, alright, here we gool

10. Magical Boys AU

Idk something about SBI and Dream Team being magical Boys who have to begrudgingly team up against the Evil Egg Gem who is controlling other Magical Boys is just very pog to me.

9. Facility AU

An AU where some of the characters are held in a facility (kinda like, scp style but not really) and Sam runs the facility while Wilbur and Tommy find a day job there!! Lotta angst and shenanigans

8. Cardverse AU

Hear me out- Eret as the King of Hearts, George as the King of Spades, Philza as the King of Clubs, and Jschlatt as the King of Diamonds. Like, yes. Good stuff here. Bit of Wars but very pog.

7. The Ran Fam AU

Basically a self fulfilling AU where Ranbob, Ran, and Butler, all kinda accidentally time travel to one another and end up as a family. I enjoy is SO MUCH. Good vibes

6. Street Smarts AU

Ranboo, after talking his way out of a mugging, gains the attention of the Villain Dream and ends up getting hired to become a negotioator. Let's just say, Ranboo certainly doesn't want his parents (Karl and Sapnap) to find out about his day and night job. (Karlnapity with Quackity angst is involved)

5. The Retired God and the Boy Who Loves Bees

It's a good one. Much comfort. Has its own Fic I am slowly updating sksk. Basically, Techno lives out on his own in the forest when someone steals some of his stock from him, and continues to steal. So Techno lays out a trap and ends up adopting a scrawny kid named Tubbo who seems to be running from something. Lotta Techno and Tubbo fluff. And angst.

4. Teenagers Go Whoops AU

Look, four powered teenagers on an adventure? Oh you bet it's gonna get chaotic. Two main storylines. Ranboo and Purpled are neutral vigilantes who don't care about sides (except for when they do), while Tommy and Tubbo are currently getting chased by a major villain and a major hero because they may or may not have hacked into something they shouldn't. Great times!

3. The One End AU

New AU! But basically, the Dimensions are divided. Overworld had Kingdoms and Empires. Nether has Tribes and Factions. The End is One. Dream, Prince of the End, wants to Rule all the Dimensions and create "The True End". A tavern owner named Wilbur happens to save a kid from said Prince when said kid finds a cool looking "rock" that happens to be an Eye of Ender. Wilbur then decided to stop Dream from whatever he's doing. He's in quite a story to tell.

2. Family Born Apart and Torn to Shreds AU

ANGST. MUCH ANGST. Philza (Avian) adopts Hybrids, and has 6 children. Wilbur (siren), Techno (piglin), Grian (avian), Tubbo (ram), Ranboo (Enderman/???), and Tommy (Human). Their home gets attacked, and their split apart. Four Main storylines take place, following the different people/groups that got seperated. LOTS OF ANGST

1. The Worlds Meet AU

My favourite, by far. Follows citizens of a town of L'manburg, who discover a tale of a beast known as a Wither. They go off to defeat the Wither, just as an adventure, unknown that there was much more to the Wither than meets the eye. The citizens go through much hardships, and even betrayal. Only to return home, changed. The next storyline (i refer to it as book two), where a Chaos God has taken over the village, and the citizens are once again asked to adventure to find the 12 Ender Eyes, in hopes to defeat the Dragon in order to gain a potion that can defeat the Chaos God. This Au has so much; it has Kingdoms, an entire Pantheon, dnd esque themes, angst, dimensions, it's honestly amazing and its my favourite.

you sent two roses so im using this as an excuse to post two things its my party and i can post excessive wip snippets if i want to

Ranboo figured that leaving, giving her parents some space to figure it all out, was the best move. If the choice was also a bit selfish, in that she didn’t want to be there for their inevitable slip-ups, well, that was her business. Traveling the Overworld would give her a chance to gather more knowledge, gain insight into other hybrid species and creatures from another land. Perhaps she could establish trading relationships that would benefit her during her rule.

At night when she tucked in beside her campfire, there was no one to braid her hair, so she woke up with a rat’s nest and had to tearfully comb it out, and even then it had lost a bit of its gloss. She had brought preserved food, but lost some of it already to a bear pillaging her campsite, and her second night she nearly got caught out in the rain. Overall, the experience had lost any charm it may have had, and she wasn’t even a week in.

Dream looks frustrated, like he wants this to be a puzzle he can solve, like he's already made up his mind and Wilbur is getting in his way.

"He's dangerous, Wilbur."

"He's a kid. And so far he hasn't displayed a single sign of being an entity."

Dream's face hardens at this.

"Just because he's your little pet doesn't mean he's not a threat. And you're not to be fully trusted, anyway."

Wilbur feels like he's been hit by a truck. Sure, he isn't permitted above a certain clearance, and there are precautions in place for him, but he's never been treated as a threat himself. He's just-- He's just Wilbur. The idea that anyone (including Dream, a field agent with far more pull than him) imagines him to be dangerous to the level of not trusting his judgment-- well. That itches at something within him.

Sleepy Bois Inc and DSMP Fanfic Recs

Uhhh I realized I have a ton of stuff in my bookmarks list and might as well compile a list of favorites because I’m always looking for good fanfics, and this might help some people. Most of these are SBI, though a few focus on things other than their dynamic with each other. Nothing explicit here. Feel free to suggest more recs.

Fics set in DSMP universe/about DSMP (One-shots first, then longer fics):

One-shots and series of one-shots-

therein lies the madness by sapphicist - 2095 words. Currently says it’s one chapter out of three complete, but can be read as a standalone one-shot. Nice introspective fic on Tommy’s exile and his parallels with Theseus. In 2nd person, but it’s actually done nicely. Mostly angsty, can have hopeful interpretation depending on how you look at it.

crazy how life goes on without me (2090 words, one-shot) by itisjosh - What if Ghostbur did remember everything, and just pretended to be clueless and vapid? Made me cry. It’s so good. Tortured my heart.

the inner mechanism of a black box (13521 words, one-shot) by Bee_4 - only work of a series called “system theory”. “Technoblade lets himself get imprisoned for Philza’s sake. He doesn’t plan on being there long. Unfortunately, he’s underestimated Pandora’s Vault. There are things that will make even the Blade fall apart in due time, as it turns out.” Yeah so Techno’s mental health goes out the window in this one and its written brilliantly. There’s comfort at the end, if it helps?

A State For One Man Is No State At All (5247 words, two-shot) by angstfortheangstgod - “A different version of the festival, in which Dream shows up unarmed, the Community House is left intact, a traitor is executed, and Tommy doesn't betray Technoblade.” Ranboo centric. Angst and comfort.

All the Kings Men series by MollyPollyKinz - “After Ghostbur's suggestion to do Lads on Tour, Tommy finds himself reunited with his family. However, escaping from Dream is going to be harder than anyone previously thought.” A connected series of one-shots and short fics about Tommy, his exile, his family, and escaping Dream. Well written, good characterization, great studies into the characters themselves.

ad astra per aspera series by cacowhistle - Collection of one-shots that start with Tommy’s exile and expand to be about SBI and their dynamic with each other, including a resurrected Wilbur. Really, really well written and probably my favorite of the “Tommy exile fic groups”.

the fall of a hero series by cracklesnaple - “After being threatened with being exiled yet again, Tommy takes the decision into his own hands. If those around him can't see that he's given up everything to make this nation what it is, then he's not sure he can stay in L'Manburg any longer.” Series about SBI and mainly Tommy, eventually crossing over into Mianite territory in a way some might enjoy and some might now. Writing’s good, though, which is what I care about.

Longer fics-

Rewind (101002 words, 25 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 17 2021) by Anonymous - Best time travel fix-it fic I’ve ever read period. Tubbo and Tommy travel 10 years back from a very messed up future to the first L’Manberg election. Concept may seen a bit weird at first but trust me, holy fuck this is amazing.

second chances (hurt the most) (8841 words, 4 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 17 2021) by Anonymous - “Wilbur wakes up alone in a bloody room, and has to come to terms with living again. (How can he go on, knowing who's blood is on his hands?)”. Amazing fic where resurrection requires someone else’s life as sacrifice. Phil is dead. Wilbur struggles to come to terms with his father’s decision, and his second chance.

What World Have We Inherited? (73635 words, 12 chapters, unfinished and last updated on Dec 22 2020) by Anonymous (this one has a series with all their works, and they’re all AMAZING). Holy fuck this one is probably one of my favorite fics in the fandom so far. “Wilbur blows everything to hell on the day of the Manburg festival, just like he wanted. When the ashes settle, it's just Tommy and Technoblade. It's not good, but it's better than nothing. It's just them, healing up in a world that never wanted them.” Amazing characterization, worldbuilding, everyone’s internal thoughts are portrayed and written so well. Even if it never updates again I would keep coming back to it. I rec this Anon’s works so much.

In June, I Changed My Tune (29489 words, 6 chapters, unfinished and last updated on Jan 6 2021) by KryOnBlock - Eret runs away and eventually becomes friends with Techno. Nice cottagecore aesthetic. I have mixed feelings about this one - the writing’s good, descriptions and characterizations are really good. Just that there’s consistent punctuation mistakes and it takes me out of the world a bit. Everything else is good enough for me to continue reading, however.

stay with him (24353 words, 12 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 9 2021) by junipersand - I especially rec the first chapter, which can be read (and originally was) a standalone fic with the summary “Every ghost had a purpose to fulfill. So what was Tommy’s?” Utterly heartwrenching, probably the most emotionally gut-punching bit of writing I’ve ever read in this fandom. It continues with other lore stuff afterwards that eventually branch off from just SBI and Tommy, but man. I don’t think I can ever forget that first chapter.

I’m not angry at you, well, sometimes I am (52801 words, 16 chapters, unfinished, last updated Jan 14 2021) by sircantus - After Tommy is exiled, he runs away to Techno’s house instead of going off with Dream. SBI decide some revenge and “world domination” is in order.

SBI Antarctic Princes AU by ScripWriter - One of several Antarctic Empire AUs, this one just has these two preliminary one-shots but they’re nice bits of fun and neatly written. All fluff and mild hurt with lots of comfort so far.

Younger Holding On Another (1781 words, one-shot). Techno is a good brother and reassures and newly adopted Tommy.

But Oh, Don’t You Know How It Goes (2511 words. one-shot). Tommy, Techno, and Wilbur have some “fun” at a boring gala. Phil is very exasperated.

Antarctic Princes ‘verse AU by BirchWrites - AU where Techno, Tommy, and Wilbur are princes of the Antarctic Empire (well, Techno’s technically the emperor now), but this time the events of DSMP still happen (at least up to the 1st season).

Homeward bound for the arctic ground (10562 words, one-shot). Wilbur and Tommy travel to the Antarctic Empire in person to ask Techno for help in fighting Schlatt. Good worldbuilding and acknowledges Wilbur’s beginnings of insanity while still being rather light.

Surprise Hugs (2542 words, one-shot). Dream doesn’t realize Tommy is Techno’s brother and thinks he’s going to get killed for tackling the infamous Blood God.

Family Reunions (1396 words, one-shot). Fundy never realized he’s loyalty and Techno informs him unexpectedly.

Very well written and really digs into the intricacies of Techno’s character (or an interpretation of it, but hey, that’s what all fanfiction is).

I was a kid in a village, doing alright, then I became a prince overnight (21736 words, 5 chapters, last updated Jan 13 2021) by sircantus - another Antarctic princes AU, this time centering on 16 year old Tommy catching the attention of Phil, Techno, and Wilbur after thwarting an assassination attempt. Really well written. Actually, I rec all of sircantus’ SBI stuff because they do amazing work.

Basically, the DSMP!Tubbo is executed by Schlatt and wakes up in a world where Manhunt!Dream is trying not to die and is also actually a nice person, to Tubbo’s surprise and confusion. Not SBI and technically not even DSMP, but it’s really good so I’ve decided to rec it anyway.
