A How-To Guide to Ask Your Girlfriend to Marry You: Advice from Carey Fangbattle
The first step to this is to get a girlfriend. This may sound daunting, but it is doable! You might look back on your past attempts in this arena and cringe; it’s easy enough to say do not cringe, kill the thing that cringes. It’s another story when confronting yourself with the veritable trauma-trove of stinkers you shackled yourself with in the past. Breathe. Ask the cool girl at work to come spar with you. At best, it’s the perfect kindling for some nice sexual tension. At worst, you’re still sparring (and when you’re good at being hard to hit, it’s nice to have a challenge).
Taking it slow is cool! You can keep sparring and hitting the gym and become increasingly obvious that you want to maybe go for coffee sometime. And then, while out for coffee, if you suddenly remember you don't drink coffee, DO NOT PANIC. Tea is cool. You ever tried a Faerun Fog? It's like a latte but with tea. It's fine.
You can also try inviting her back to your place to watch a movie. Be sure to place the bowl of popcorn in such a way that would make accidental hand brushes inevitable.
Keep dropping hints that you're gay. Maybe she didn't notice.
Repeat substeps 1-3.
Get assigned to go on a work trip with her now that the flirtation has really ensued. Find the shittiest, draftiest tavern you can (there's not a lot of money in the job). Now, you might be asking: how many beds were there? And the answer is two, but don't despair! Because if you're cold-blooded, eventually she's going to get tired of your teeth chattering and will invite you to share her bed anyway!
Wake up in her arms. Super platonic like.
Oh, that actually worked? You now have a girlfriend? Great job! Never doubted you for a moment!
Now, you can go on some more dates! Have you tried the new wine and pottery place? It seems pretty cool.
Avoid your coworker at said wine and pottery place
Let her know that the whole being a reptile thing does make certain things different but! it's cool and fine and doesn’t take very much getting used to.
She's very enthusiastic and a quick learner. Lucky you.
This next step is also vital, sorry. You have to befriend this absolute himbo of a man. Neither of you consciously make an effort, you're just drawn together.
Hmm, politely turn him down after he hits on you.
Shit, that's not at all what was happening, cool cool cool.
He's cool about it though. And he has skills! And he wants to learn your skills!!
Have a heart to heart conversation with your girlfriend. This will happen organically after a long day at work. You're both going to be exhausted in every sense of the word. After all, you just had to attend the funeral of a friend.
She'll tell you she had wanted to use a powerful magic item while on a mission a while back.
Recall that the terms of your employment require that you apprehend or kill members of your organization tempted to do just that.
Be so brave and not cry about what this could mean for you both one day.
…cry a little
Decide you want to marry this woman.
Drop the hint to your best friend that you want to marry this woman.
Your best friend will carve a beautiful ring for your (hopefully) future fiancé.
Keep the ring in your pocket.
Try to figure out when to pop the question.
Watch the color fade from the world.
Lose your best friend.
Mourn him.
Discover your best friend was an alien from another plane of existence.
Discover that he didn't actually die.
Asshole, who keeps that kind of thing from a best friend!
Nearly lose the love of your life in the fray of battle.
Lose your shit.
Survive the apocalypse.
Mourn your friends.
And finally, when the dust has settled and you're finally back together in your bed, wince when you realize the ring box is digging into your hip.
Shift your weight and be weird for a minute
She's going to laugh a little. This is good. She loves you, after all.
Forget every single romantic notion you've ever come up with and tell her instead that you'd like to spend every near-apocalypse with her for as long as you both shall live.
She'll say yes, yes, ten thousand times yes.
She'll cry.
You'll cry.
And now you're engaged!
Start planning the wedding.
…Good luck

👾 ───── *ೃ  ‍୨ EVERYTHING CANON IN THE HASHTAG MINIVERSE: A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF ALL THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plotlines, plotlines and even more plotlines! At first I thought a combined piece of all the writing pieces that focused or circled around these plots would be a good idea, but then I realized, It’d be better to have them layed out like this so it’s easier to understand!
Tumblr media
CLEM X YUAN: THE PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH DATING YOUR BEST FRIEND’S BROTHER.
A little backstory is needed on this one. So, I used to have a piece up about Yuan (@stariified) and Liling’s complicated relationship but I removed it because I didn’t think it was that necessary. It briefly detailed a situation that confirmed Liling’s hatred for Yuan completely.
Liling used to be bullied relentlessly whilst in school, when on the other hand, Yuan was absolutely loved by everyone. He was never really a very brotherly figure to her and often ignored or pretended like she didn’t exist when they were near each other. To wrap up the piece quickly, Liling ended up in the hospital due to some…reasons, and a bigger grudge on Yuan than she did before.
Fast forward a couple of years, they’re past debut and Clem has replaced Yoora as Liling’s so called ‘best-friend’ (I’ll get into that later) and now they’re closer than ever before. But instead of following the ‘siblings are COMPLETELY off limits’ rule (I mean, you would think so after seeing how that trope ends) Clem took it upon herself to get drunk (She was actually pretty sober) and hook up with Yuan after a party at the Comet House (Will be explained at a later date, just know Melody Media owns the place)
Liling ended up finding out through Yoora (Jealous + snitch alert if you ask me) and she confronted Clem which basically was just Liling being super pissed and Clem being super unbothered. Liling eventually got over it but she still absolutely despises Yuan and Clem absolutely loves Yuan! We don’t know if Yuan really likes her like that yet. Great Dynamic!
LILING X KIJUNG X ELIAS X DAWN + JISEOK: OKAY WAIT, WHAT’S GOING ON HERE AND WHY ARE THERE SO MANY NAMES?
Once again, a backstory is most definitely needed and is very important to understanding this plot, it gets really complicated. First, let’s address the people involved. Liling is obviously a member of hashtag, we know her (hopefully?). Kijung and Jiseok (an honorable mention in the story) are apart of a group called Everlast under Melody Media. Cody’s in the same group as them if anyone remembers him, so that might ring some bells.
Anyways, I was planning to make a blog for them so that’s coming soon! Back to the point, Kijung and Jiseok are members of the same group they know eachother blah blah blah. Liling & Jiseok are like two peas in a pod, great friends, whatever you wanna call it but Kijung and Liling have a lot of history. They used to date, let’s say from 2022 - the middle of 2023, after that the relationship ended they’re still friends but there’s some tension. Moving on! We have Elias…he’s meant to be Liling’s manager for when she has solo projects and schedules but then they ended up ‘falling in love’ and started ‘dating’ in October of 2023.
I say ‘dating’ because they weren’t really, that’s just what Liling liked to call it. Two months later they end up breaking up (???) because he cheated on her with one of Melody Media’s creative directors, Dawn Wolfe. I love Dawn so much but she was not cool for that. Obviously, Liling still loves Elias very much, peer pressure (Clem) just told her that she should break up with him otherwise she would look stupid (she would). In the piece i wrote for this, both Kijung and Elias were about to throw themselves onto a road for her (not literally) and Elias ends up meeting up with Liling whilst he’s drunk and Liling finally decides to think for herself. She just tells him to stay away from her and their story ends there.
I think this is the most important plot because it’s basically the reason why Liling is on a hiatus, i’m sure you’ve seen the articles (hopefully??) and she isn’t really acting like she’s on a hiatus but she formally is. Hashtag will probably have a full album before she’s back so let’s say the hiatus will probably last a couple more months.
MINSEO AND HER TWITCH SCANDAL: IVE TRIED SO MANY TIMES TO EXPLAIN THIS, SO HERE WE GO!
I’ve had so many variations of this plot that I don’t even know what to say (Lies, I do). Firstly, it was going to be Minseo’s plot, then it was Yewon’s (she’s not important anymore) and now it’s back to being Minseo’s. It’ll stay that way, her being a twitch streamer has always belonged to her (runs through her veins!) Anyways, Minseo used to run an account called SEOTALK (there’s also been many variations of the account name, but this one makes the most sense) and it actually ended up doing really well, better than what Minseo was expecting. She’d always wanted to be ‘famous’ she just didn’t want her face to be the main focus point.
So, she used a mask and wore these thick glasses every time she streamed to somewhat hide her identity (she did not do a very good job. at all) and nobody questioned a thing. Sometimes, Minseo would just talk to her screen for a few hours but her most popular streams where the ones where she would play horror games. People just seemed to love her reactions and commentary so much that I think it got to her head. Minseo took this opportunity to incorporate other things into her stream, and that is where the downfall of SEOTALK began. Soon enough, she began to talk about idol groups and answer controversial questions about them, and oh was it bad.
She had no filter (okay blunt queen) and would just run her mouth for hours and hours until she felt like she couldn’t open her mouth anymore. At the time, there were mixed opinions. Some people thought that her comments weren’t necessary and others found it extremely funny or extremely insensitive, inappropriate and offensive. Minseo ended up abandoning the account for a little while and then she debuted, so the account and its streams had to be deleted but obviously, people had recorded them and some were still uploaded to youtube by other accounts. A few months after Hashtag’s debut an article about who SEOTALK was came out and it revealed to the public that it was of course, Hashtag’s Minseo.
This was Hashtags biggest scandal at the time and almost sent them into ruins (ALMOST). I was going to make this plot part of a youtube series that detailed all the scandals Melody Media had kept hidden, but that wouldn’t make much sense, you know? Minseo had to issue a formal apology and everyone eventually got over it after the initial shock. It’s an inside joke in the fandom now, but Minseo now refuses to acknowledge it.
CLEM AND YOORA HATE EACHOTHER, WELL JUST YOORA ACTUALLY, HERES WHY.
There actually is no reason, no major event that caused them to argue, Yoora just genuinely does not like Clem. She hasn’t liked her since 2018 but she was able to put it aside and work with her without any passive aggressiveness shining through her cute little facade. That was until Clem slowly started to seep her way into Liling’s life like an annoying little fly (Yoora’s words, not mine) to the point where Clem ended up replacing Yoora’s best friend spot which quite literally, ticked her off.
Now, Yoora makes it her life’s goal to piss Clem off at any possible time she can. Shoving her, tripping her up, making sure her food is burnt, like kid stuff. Because she’s a child. Anyways, Clem doesn’t feel the same way, she just does not care about a lot of things in life so why should she care about Yoora, of all people? Clem just simply finds it funny so their beef is practically one-sided. Liling has no comment she’s just really enjoying being the center of attention!
YOORA X HANJAE. OH AND WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON WITH YOORA?
There are already a lot of posts that explain the YooJae (Yoora and Hanjae + find him @/intoloopin) dynamic/situation, there’s not really much needed here, so i’ll link them here, here and here if you haven’t already seen them. I’m re-explaining in more simpler terms if you don’t understand. All you need to know is that their relationship started off as a fake one, a beneficial stunt for two best friends if you will, and it was quite successful for the pair. Then the rumors started to circulate and a twitter account exposed their fake relationship with a thread. Responses were interesting, to say the least but that wasn’t their main goal, so not much attention was directed towards pleasing the public. One thing lead to another, a lot of silence and tears (On Yoora’s behalf), and they began to actually date (FOR REAL. LIKE FOR REAL).
Now that their dating is basically publicized, like it was lowkey obvious they did not do a good job of hiding it, Yoora is literally not allowed to hang out with anyone anymore else. The media already thinks she ‘needs help’ so people are like “okay why do you have friends if you have a boyfriend” (THEIR WORDS not mine.) so she’s been in hiding for a very long time. Now for the more recent Yoora news, she posted some stuff on her private instagram (post is here) that was very…ominous. It has a lot to do with something i’ll explain later (in the ‘yoora’s kicked out of the group??’ section) but just know she’s like super close to taking a break (hashtag disbandment when?? joking!) and will most likely end up with no lines in their next comeback (HER CHOICE!)
ANNIE AND HER SIBLING DYNAMIC + HER CRAZY FAMILY DRAMA
So, Annie has 3 other siblings: Melanie, Milo and Melodie (I am not creative with names) and Milo is her twin brother, surprise! Now, all their names start with m’s on purpose, no, it’s not because I was lazy. It shows how the other 3 siblings are much more connected and how Annie is always left out, even when mentioning names. Also points to the fact that her parents did not care for her as much as they did for her other siblings and couldn’t be bothered to come up with a name even a little related. (okay maybe her name is a little related since her sister’s names end in ‘ie’ as well. ignore that.) But Milo hates Annie.
He hates his whole family but finds a special place in his heart to care for Melanie and Melodie but when it comes to Annie it’s just pure hatred (I have a very common pattern of siblings hating each other. no family can exist happily here) and he couldn’t stand the sight of her. There have been some times where Milo has taken upon himself to care for Annie, but other than that, it is not all sunshine’s and rainbows out here. When I was writing, I thought that I could have this moment where they finally understood each other and that did happen but it was a little slow and not how i imagined it. So, I think it’s better for them to understand each other but not be super close, they’ll get to that point later. Favoritism is definitely apparent in Annie’s family and she is not a favorite.
YUNHEE AND REIKO ARE THE ONLY SANE ONES HERE, THEY KEEP TO THEMSELVES. MOSTLY.
I think not! I just haven’t developed them as much as I have developed everyone else, and that’s totally fine! Not everyone in the group needs to have something going on, but I’ll probably find some way to sneak them in and allow them to have bigger roles in the cupidverse. (yes, that’s what i’m calling it. stay tuned something BIG is coming. not really, i’m just making a company blog…) Yunhee is already involved in the ‘Myungjae & Minseo’ plot as a protagonist. She needs to stop them from getting what they deserve! (love) Reiko is just an angel, truly, I love her but there’s not much she can do for me as of now. When I figure something out for these two, just know it’ll be absolutely diabolical.
KANG MINAH. UHM WHOS THAT? NEVER HEARD OF HER? WELL YOU’RE ABOUT TO!
Originally, Minah was going to be a Yunjin fc (kep1er) but I thought she would be a better fit for Annie so I need a faceclaim for her later, not important right now! She was basically a pre-debut member that trained with Hashtag, expecting to debut with them. Clearly, she didn’t, but she might pop up somewhere else in the cupidverse (maybe…) Minah was actually a very known trainee under Melody Media, but not for good reasons. She was (affectionately) nicknamed ‘Baby faced Bitch’ because she had a baby face and was not very nice to anyone, to put it lightly. Liling looked up to her a lot and Minah was usually her sweetest when with Liling.
There would be the occasional break down where she would snap at Liling but other than that, she was pretty good to her. The rest of Hashtag hated her, especially Reiko. Reiko is the peacemaker of the group, that’s what she likes to call herself, and she’s generally level-headed. So when a generally not level-headed person comes along, it’s obvious they’ll struggle to be friends. And they did struggle. The only person defending Minah was Liling and it tore the group apart, before they could even debut. Melody Media took it upon themselves to remove her from the pre-debut group (they’ve never done such a thing, surprising) and the group went on without her. Minah’s a favorite so she’s definitely coming back, just not with Hashtag.
OK WAIT, THERES MORE. YOORA WAS ABOUT TO BE KICKED OUT OF THE GROUP?
I didn’t develop this plot too much but it is still very much canon. The piece on this plot explains a lot but the basics are that Insu (Melody Media Executive) and Liling are eating lunch together (he decided to break the news over some burgers??) because Insu and Yoora have been entangled in some sort of scandal (I didn’t really elaborate as to what kind) which has lead Misook (Melody Media Ceo) to consider removing Yoora from the group to minimize the backlash. Liling tries to argue for her and she thinks it’s unfair since their manager, Nari has been sleeping with practically the whole company (like literally, and it’s not good. i don’t get the appeal) but she hasn’t lost her job.
Obviously, Insu is stunned by this and says nothing (he’s not very bright) so Liling talks some more and they agree on a statement being released which clears Yoora of all rumors and she gets to stay, yay! This affects Yoora’s mental health though, which caused her to spiral, like I mentioned earlier. She has a tough time dealing with a lot of her emotions and just blurts everything out into an instagram post leaving all her close friends confused. As of now, Yoora’s much happier than she was last year but she’s still unsure about her place in Hashtag.
MINSEO X MYUNGJAE: SHY BOY X REALLY ANNOYING AND WEIRD LOUD GIRL!
Everlast mention! (AGAIN! i love those guys) Myungjae (Reese) and Minseo are a whole thing, I don’t know what type of thing but they are definitely a thing. I was going to pair Yunhee and Myungjae together but they’re just mc partners for Inkigayo (I was gonna make this whole post for them but I was like no, not important enough). Minseo is very jealous of Yunhee, and the fact that Yunhee is better than her in all aspects doesn’t help. She thinks Myungjae might end up with Yunhee and I think so too (joking!).
There’s a piece that explains their relationship pretty well (here) and it’s the only piece I have up (more coming soon, i swear) because it’s the only piece i’ve written that is completely accurate to the plot and isn’t all jumbled up everywhere. He’s whipped for her, she’s whipped for him boring stuff (joke, again!) but there’s not much going on with them right now, they will be expanded on in the future and i have some…great and definitely not life altering things planned for them!

What if the Avian boys met a feathered DragonShifter S/O, How do you draw feathered wings.I can't draw those for the life of me. teach me your way! Lovely Art too.
Practice. Lots and lots of practice. And also a lot of references. Super fun to draw wings though :]
Glad you like my art! As for the Avian Boys...
Sans is probably equally as wary as he is curious. At the start, he likely would have watched you from the shadows until he'd developed a proper opinion for you. As an S/O, however, he's even more curious! He's super glad he can fly with you, and wants to know how you work. If you can shift into a full-dragon, he probably marvels at how pretty you are and likes to preen your wings. Expect getting given shiny things as gifts.
Red immediately confronted you as soon as he saw you, brimming with curiosity and something akin to awe. He would have definitely challenged your place on his territory at the first, though. Eventually when you became his S/O, he became... surprisingly sweet. He's super curious about you being a Dragon Shifter and wants to know more, but he'll also teach you a bunch about avians! He'll also indulge in preening your feathers, usually punctuated by a lot of flirting as he usually does.
Axe was. Well. He doesn't really see you as that different? He's like "oh cool, dragon." and sorta just chills. He doesn't mind learning more about you- his only question is if you need to eat more than the average human. He really likes to nap on/with you and will definitely do a couple, rather cute things for you. He likes to fly and hunt with you.
Dust... well... The likelihood of you somehow becoming his S/O is low, all things considered, and he likely didn't enjoy the fact you were on his territory. However, he would have eventually warmed up to you, and sort of just hangs around now. He gives you things, does favours, and occasionally will challenge you to a flying competition (which he undoubtedly wins- he's a Peregrine Falcon Avian, fast enough to break through the sound barrier and then some if he's diving.) He likes to sit around and "guard" you when you nap, and has probably showed you his territory a couple times. He loves you, he's just crap at showing it.

My thoughts on the PuzzleVision Movie (SPOILERS):
Tumblr media
I’m kinda glad I waited a bit to get my thoughts on the Puzzlevision movie out there, as I got to let my thoughts sit a little, but I still think my current thoughts are mostly the same as my original thoughts:
The movie was neat. There was a lot of things I liked about it, like all the parodies, animation, and ESPECIALLY the villain song. But… I honestly think it’s kinda underwhelming for the finale of this storyline they started in early 2023. I guess I had big expectations since this confrontation with Mr. Puzzles was built up for 2 whole movies and a WOTFI. I Still think there are a lot of good qualities to it. But, unfortunately, I got a lot more to say about the negatives than the positives.
I was initially underwhelmed by Mr. Puzzle’s backstory, considering how long he’s been built up as a villain. At first the backstory of Puzzles being “He was a lonely kid who became a TV addict and eventually replaced his head with a TV” came of as sort of bland, cliche villain backstory that the writers came up with on the fly. Again, I feel like I felt that way because of what came before it. Stuff like the Eldritch Goo from IGBP, the Grand Door being opened shortly before the lead up to that movie, Puzzlevision originally owning the show grounds, and all of Puzzles’ powers made me think that there was going to be a bit more to his story. Like, how does just replacing his head with TV give him all the powers he has?? Now I think the backstory’s more alright though. The part with “Oh he was lonely and had no friends :(“ still comes off as super cliche to me, and the powers still don’t make sense, but the part about him replacing his face with a TV sort of drives home how unhinged he is under that smile. I have similar thoughts on his final goal, which to me basically came off as “oooh he wants to brainwash everyone and take over the world”. But at least the backstory wasn’t as confusing or convoluted as Niles’ backstory from Revelations.
One other thing I also didn’t like, and still don’t, was how Tari was presented. In Western Spaghetti she was built up to be a much braver person who was more ready to take down whoever messes with her friends. But in this movie she feels like a complete coward again, cowering in fear at the thought of Mr. Puzzles going to get them, and begging Meggy not to go through a scary obstacle course. Like, what was the whole point of going through that arc if she was gonna be super scared the next time a big villain shows up??? I feel like they just threw that character development that I loved so much away. Also, why would they introduce Clench right before the Puzzlevision takeover if he wasn’t going to play any role in it?????
I do like how everyone came together throughout the movie to escape Puzzles’ network though. Smg4 and 3 told Mario where to find them, Meggy and Tari found out how to escape the network, and Boopkins and Bob broke everyone out of their channels. I thought that part was pretty neat, and felt like a bunch of puzzle pieces falling into place (no pun intended). It’s also always nice seeing mario help out in some way, even though I wish his motives were more “I gotta save my friends” than “I wanna find the TV because I wanna watch TV”.
This is a next thing is more of a nitpick than anything. I love the animation change for the South Park section. But even though there’s a VA credited with the South Park characters in the credits, Cartman’s voice sounds a lot like an AI voice to me for some reason. They probably did use an actual voice actor for Cartman and the way they pitch shifted it made it sound weird, but if they actually used AI for Cartman, I don’t find that cool.
One last thing. I don’t even feel like this movie has much of an impact on SMG4 like IGBP. Like the only thing that changes is that Puzzles’ is dealt with, and he may or may not be dead; and he didn’t even have much of an effect on the normal episodes before if any. Other than that, no one really goes through any arc or gains any development. If anything, Tari lost development from Western spaghetti. It doesn’t really feel like anything changed, which is kinda weird considering the gang just defeated the main antagonist who’s been messing with them for a year. There wasn’t even a reveal on what’s behind that boarded up door or anything added to the show grounds.
Other than that, the movie was still neat. Just neat. That’s all I can really say. I know I’ve been kinda pessimistic here, but like I said, I had more to say one the negatives than positives. They just stick out more to me than most of the plot, which is really just the gang going through a bunch of parodies. Guess I set my expectations too high for this movie or something. Just remember these are all just my opinions and you can feel however you want about this movie.
Now, will I continue following SMG4 now that Mr. Puzzles is possibly gone for good? Honestly… I’m not sure. I’ve mainly been following SMG4 over the last year mainly because of Mr. Puzzles, and I’ve been planning to move away from it for ages. So depending on how the next few videos go, I may or may not stop following. I kinda like the idea of leaving SMG4 off where it’s kind of ambiguous if Mr. Puzzles is really dead or not. Even if I stop following SMG4, I’ll still make some make fan art every of it now and again. I just wish the possible final movie I watched was just more than just “neat”.

Did writing Malleus make you connect with him more? Like, did you start liking him more then you did at first?
Yeah, it super did. My feelings about Malleus went through their own development.
Originally, Malleus was firmly in the middle of the pack in terms of how much I liked him. Cool design, weird guy, did funny stuff sometimes. But he felt like he was pandering to a demographic I'm not a part of and I didn't like how overpowered he was since it basically nerfed him in terms of being challenged in the narrative. He didn't have to struggle through something like the rest of the cast. The ending to Endless Halloween especially bothered me sice they built up all this tension only to be like, "Haha jk :) also Malleus kidnapped like 600 people and trapped them in some pocket dimension, but only because he wanted to help some ghosts experience Halloween! Cute, right?" Like what are you talking about, that's terrifying. Ace confronted him about it a little, but no one else really did. And why would they risk it? They'd be taking their life in their hands, right? Someone as powerful as Malleus could crush basically any of the students like a bug if he was so inclined. He doesn't do that, but that doesn't mean he can't. These things were distasteful to me, but they're also interesting and they play a big part in how I write him.
Glorious Masquerade was the first thing that improved Malleus' character in my eyes. Suddenly, he had to struggle along with everyone else. He couldn't solve the problem with his magical strength. He had to work together with other people, to play a part in a plan and cooperate, to actually defeat Rollo. We got to see another side of him.
When I started writing him, I was worried about flanderizing him since I hadn't paid close attention to him before, so I reread every vignette with him I could find. Over the course of writing Dark Fire, I came to really enjoy writing his POV sections. Not that I preferred them over Rollo's, but they both brought on different kinds of enjoyment. Rollo's POV is something closer to what I'm used to writing whereas Malleus' was new to me. Trying to understand a fae's thought process, especially like a fae who will be king for maybe over a thousand years, forced me to think in a different way. It's even made me like Lilia more, since even before book 7 was really going, it became clear to me how much Lilia must mean to him and why.
Malleus lacks so much social development. He's been lonely, crying out for someone who loves him since before he hatched, right? And that person can't stay with him forever. No one that he's surrounded himself with can. If he falls for a human or even for a half fae like Sebek, it's over, they simply won't live long enough. Even if he falls for a fellow fae, maybe they'll fall out of love at some point and leave him. He will face loss. Despite all his power, there's nothing he can do to stop people from dying or leaving him.
But that doesn't mean he can't try.
And I find that part fascinating. I can't help but pity him, because who doesn't understand the fear of loss? The hideous feeling of losing, or the dread of eventually losing, someone who is so important to you? But it's when he tries to reject this fate, when his flaws are laid bare, that I like Malleus the most. He's capable of horrific acts and has already done them, even if the game tries to soften the impact. His goal is hopeless. He does wrong by the people he loves in his attempt. But he moves forward regardless.
His physical and magical strength is immense, but he's socially stunted and emotionally brittle. Flaws make a character and Malleus is riddled with them.

Okay, remeber my post about Earthspark AUs? It was written at 3 am, so I redid the text and made it more clear! Welcome under the cut!
Those AUs splinter after the second batch, tho this still gonna lead to direct confrontation with GHOST. Here's comes several different ideas.
Idea 1. The reason Bee was actively hunted by GHOST is bc Croft knows he's a powerful outliner.
I had different versions of what this power can be, like power to make storms, hydrokinesis (Bee loves water in this AU), or something like bioresonance from Signalis (this one super cool and fun!).
During the war Megatron wanted a bioweapon, so ordered Shockwave to make one. Young Bee was living in the facility and interacted with other young 'cons that were claimed by by Decepticons at birth. That's how Bee know Brackdown.
But he had little freedom, and he was experimented on. Eventually he couldn't take it anymore and snapped really badly, his powers killed anyone in the facility expect Stunticons (they were out at the moment)and Shockwave with Megatron ( who were in the same room with Bee)
Megatron kills him ( or specifically, he thinks he killed Bee) and discared outside, and that's where Optimus finds and rescues him. Bee has little memory of this and his powers were dormant ever since.
Unfortunatly, Croft found some classified decepticon files about Bee. She wants Bee as a weapon, so she can invade other countries on Earth first, and then other worlds, including Cybetron. Tho she would happily control other cybertronians using Mandroid's tech (which she controlled with energon and eventually killed him).
She wanted to use Optimus first, but the found out that's Maltos hide Terrans and Bee, so he decided to use his family to lure him out. And when everyone is gathered in final confrontation, she sticks the mind controlling device on him. Except instead of being controlled, Bee goes berserk bc the device uncovered all his trauma.
Everything descends into chaos. Idea 1a. Bumblebee wasn't artificially created, but he kidnapped from Caminus, a colony that isolated itself off entirely when off started. Camines basically all outliners and Megatron wanted his bioweapon, so Bee was taken. When he lived on Caminus he knew Windblade, another batchmate that was born not long after him and they were besties.
Bc of trauma from experiments, he forgot his previous life entirely, while Windy was looking for him. Eventually she reaches Earth of her own that when they reunite.
Idea 2. Bee doesn't have any powers and GHOST were more interested in Terrans and kid's cybersleeves. They invaded Maltos, took everyone hostage, and she mortally wounds Bee before GHOST leaves with Maltos captured.
Slowly dying he finds strength to go back to the cave, squeeze really hard into the hole to reach the Embersone and begs it for help. In return the stone gets absorbed into his spark, transforming him into powerful creature ( in my case of course, a dragon! But I was thinking of eastern dragon this time, or even Bakunawa - a serpent dragon from Philippine mythology).
Of course it comes with the price and the stone is gradually killing him bc no mortal can hold that much power inside their body, but he willing to pay.
Also, his gets added to the Terran collective, so kids suddenly can feel emotions.
Idea 2a. That Alex was also left behind with dying Bee ( Croft thought the historian is weak and wont interfere, while Dot presents a threat). Alex is the one run to the cave and bring the stone to Bee. But Bee is very disheartened, beating himself up bc he failed to protect anyone, so Alex to comfort him tells him a story from mythology (idk which one, maybes something with a dragon again if there are fitting stories?) which helps Bee to focus and regain resolve and take the stone's power.
Ending In all cases, Bumblebee is dying after the main fight, so Terrans with kids use the power of Emberstone to save him. They get into his mind a seem glimpses of his trauma and how he often feels powerless and he desire to be a hero and being self-sacrificing to combat this.
He's like okay with dying, but Twitch protests, repeating his own words back to him ( "I wont leave you until you're save, that what family means!") and tells him that he can't die right after he begin to actually live. For idea 1 he can die before he finds his alt-mode, for idea 2 he can't just die without enjoying his chosen altmode first.
They remind him that he has home and family to return too, and it was enough for to stabilize and survive. Good ending!~

Fic Notes
Just typing them out since there's a lot and it's easier just to type it, and better for anyone who has a hard time just reading/needs a screen reader
Super long so, enjoy <3 If you wanna do stuff with any of this you can, just leave credit or a note to me if you take heavy/direct inspo and stuff from it
Early game/kinda set-up stuff: Scar talks to Grian being like "hey man. You seem stressed and territorial, you good? Oh. Oh you have a refugee, okay cool. Can I give him cookies?"
Taurtis and Pearl are besties bc I say so. Pearl's favorite past time with him is picking his brain for stuff that he's seen but she hasn't before, and they bond over liking weird alien stuff. She shows him her collection and 1.18 update investigation room.
-
Scar "you can't keep him in your house forever, G."
Gri "And why not!"
Scar "He's a person! How would you feel if you were holed up in someone's house and not allowed to leave?"
Gri "Shut up." (Cause, yknow, Sam locked him in the basement for three days that one time)
(Taurtis wouldn't actually be unallowed to leave, Grian would just be wary and anxious and paranoid about it)
-
Late night bed talks. One being where Taurtis asks "Grian, am I funny?" and G goes "Yeah, you're really funny. What, did you make a lame dad joke today?" And Taurtis pauses a bit before rolling onto his side, facing away and responding "Oh yeah, it was a super lame joke." And Grian kinda catches on that, hey this is weird behavior for Taurtis, and decides to confront him about it, hence these lines:
T "What, am I just comedic relief to you? Is that still all I am?"
G "You've always been more than just a joke, don't say that."
-
Mid-game: Scar's "Hey man you're a bit off" turns to "dude you're extremely bad right now. You need to relax. It's okay. Chill pill, my dude." And Grian is a stubborn bitch that keeps pushing his help away, so Scar tries to get Taurtis to help him with Grian.
Winter hits and Grian spends most of his days sleeping due to instincts, or something, idk it's an excuse to make him sleep and have Taurtis be crazy amounts of domestic with him. Taurtis "accidentally" makes too much breakfast to finish on his own so he wakes up Grian to share it with him. (He called Scar to see if he'd want it, not wanting to wake Grian, but Scar told him it'd be good for the pesky bird to have a meal before sleeping more)
Grian starts seeing shit due to his stress and the fact that the watchers have been following Taurtis this whole time without him realizing up to a certain point. Inspired by me seeing the foggy moon and going "huh that looks like a watcher eye." Thank you, Grian introject moment, pogchamp.
Xisuma starts asking people during casual chats if they've noticed anything different about the server. When he asks Grian, G lies and says he hasn't when he knows the watchers have found a way to get to Hermitcraft too, not wanting to expose himself and risk being looked into deeper from before joining HC. They know him and Pearl were in a server before, but not that it was a server full of watchers and eventual destruction. This causes Grian to get more stressed, develop worse insomnia, and try and figure out a way to send Taurtis home faster. He tries to ignore the inner misery and prioritize the safety of everyone else, but internally struggles with reassuring himself that Taurtis will even be safe after leaving.
Grian starts using his watcher powers when alone to influence the others to do things, just to show the other watchers that he's doing his job and they don't have to stay. They aren't convinced until him and two other watchers have a direct confrontation, in watcher forms rather than their human-esque forms, maybe spend a whole chapter showing their conversation before Xisuma locates where they are due to the heightened levels of their presence, confronting Grian now about what he was thinking and why all of this is happening.
Grian finds out that the other watchers lurking over the server managed to gain enough control to start forming an evo portal, finding it half finished and deciding to use his own control to make "clues". The clues are fake and only there to steer Taurtis away from the portal, but the other watchers change what Grian's clues say to lead him towards it no matter what. Taurtis sees the portal behind an evo symbol and gets mad at Grian, thinking he's tying to send him back to evo to be alone like he was before. (I didn't watch evo, just wanted to find a way to make it appear like Grian abandoned him from Taurtis's perspective.) Grian tries explaining himself, but Taurtis is done listening.
Taurtis starts showing more obvious signs that his sense of confusion from the down under has caused occasional confusion to places he's in, even if he's been there long term. Just a lil, lil somethin, y'know?
Grian's psychotic (literally) and Taurtis is autistic. Not mid game but just had to put that out there.
-
Long game/end game: (omg just like avenger's end game- shut up. No. Stop.)
There's a sort of banquet to celebrate the ending of season nine as they progress into season ten.
Taurtis has to face the truth that he's never wanted to leave in the first place. He had to accept that fact mid game, but here he has to say it outright to Grian who's absorbed himself into figuring out every nook and cranny and function of that portal, so much that the skulk and purple has grown more on him.
The purple area spreads more on his right arm since that's the one he stick into the rift after activating the portal again. Something that's noticed overtime as he continues experimenting on and interacting with the rift and the area it was at in general.
-----Additional Notes/How Watcher presence affects players-----
A large amount of Watcher presence will cause listeners and the watched to feel paranoid, sick or uneasy. The more watching them, the worse the effects are. This is how Grian connects the rift's sudden behavior change to the watchers, Mumbo pointing out how he's felt the past few days one night while researching and experimenting on the portal with him.
And then this all was going to lead up to an additional fic to the series where they'd have to do a life series to satisfy the Watchers's need for violence, but the watchers found a way to strike a deal with Sam to make things more interesting, and Grian and Sam end up being soulbound for it with Grian barely winning by killing Sam in the end after everyone else has died out.
Similar to Double Life, but would have more stakes and need for staying close to soulmates as well as different effects and changes to players with the loss of lives and distance between soulmates.

Doodle I did at work of SDR2 Next Gen
Some details below, I don’t have all their names yet.
Tw: small segment of abuse, it’s okay she’s good now
Komahina
- Nagito’s ultimate luck helped them adopt a child that looks like a perfect blend of the two
- He’s really smart and picks up lessons quickly but he doesn’t apply himself. He tends to slack off and support his friends from the sidelines.
- Nagito and Hajime disagree a lot about how much freedom to give their son. Nagito appreciated the freedom he got when his parents died, and Hajime wants to be much more involved than his own parents in their child life.
Kuzupeko’s first daughter: Harumi
- Her official title is SHSL Self-Defense expert but her more accurate title would be SHSL Punisher.
- Having been raised at a young age to protect herself from various entities wanting to do harm, she got really good at hurting people
- Fuyuhiko is currently encouraging her to forget about the Yakuza life (for now) and live a normal life
Sondam’s Daugher: Lillian
- As the SHSL Poet, she wrote a famous book of poems in her native language. Whenever she tries to translate it to English or Japanese, the words become really weird. She's most famous of her macabre poems.
- She loves her family very much, but she hates her country. After the tragedy the country became a hellscape full of criminals and psychopaths. It breaks Sonia’s heart her children can never see their country how it once was. Sonia is doing her best to transition to a democracy but it’s taking time.
Ibuki’a son adopted by Sondam: Lucifer
- Ibuki got knocked up and doesn’t know who the father is (it’s twogami’s). She didn’t want the baby so Sonia (who was also pregnant at the time) offered to adopt them. Ibuki’s pregnancy went a lot smoother thanks to Sonia and Gundham helping. Ibuki still visit her son as the fun cool aunt. Twogami eventually realizes that's his son by studying his facial features but choose not to confront Lucifer.
- He is most likely the one to ascend the throne if Sonia can’t transition her country to a democracy in her lifetime. As the SHSL Vet, he will fix this country just like he fixes animals.
- The boy is super flirty (he gets that from Ibuki). He's currently dating Komahina's son but they're poly. Lucifer is fascinated by goth themes so he does bond with Mikan's daughter about that.
- On a meta level: Lucifer is a study on nature vs nurture. How much of his personality comes from his adoptive parents and what factors does he take from his biological.
Speed round for everyone else
- Teruteru’s daughter is nothing like her father but she does laugh at crude jokes. Imagine the sweetest bell of the ball suddenly snort laughing when someone calls her a “Master Baker”.
- Mikan adopted a lot of sick kids as a way to repent. After a while Hajime had to confront her because Mikan adopting kids she knew would die was doing terrible things to her psych. The one child that did survive was an girl born with one arm.
- Mikan’s daughter became very comfortable with death after all her siblings died (from natural causes). Being SHSL moritician allows her to make death, cute. She enjoys being a mortician because the dead doesn’t mind waiting for an one arm professional to finish
- Kazuichi’s son is Kazuichi if he had a good dad and women role models. Kazuichi is the best dad y’all, I feel it in my bones. UNFORTUNATELY, Kazuichi's son becomes the most upset when he finds out Class 77 involvement in the tragedy. Their relationship is a little strained right now.
- Mahiru’s adopted daughter was born to an abusive father who beated her whenever she asked for anything. When Kotoko (pink warrior of hope) saw this she tased the shit out of him. Mahiru offered to foster her and eventually ended up adopting her. Hiyoko was very adamant she never wanted kids so the two broke up. But of course Hiyoko still visited Mahiru, they were still friends. And Hiyoko was a littttle nice to Mahiru’s kid. Oh the kid has an interested in traditional Japanese so I guuuesss Hiyoko can help with that. The kid isn’t thaaat bad. Mahiru wants to try make their relationship work again, Hiyoko is willling. But no way is Hiyoko going to raise the kid. (In case I wasn’t clear, Hiyoko insist she didn’t adopt the kid but she totally did. Hiyoko is really good at teaching her to be more vocal with what she wants)
- Kuzupeko’s second daughter, Ryo. On a meta level, she’s an exploration of someone who wants to grow up too fast, compared to her parents who were forced to grow up too fast. She thinks she’s the most mature one of the family.
- Akanidai’s son is the youngest. Akane for a long time didn’t know if she wanted kids and Nekomaru was very understanding. Akane enjoyed the idea of children because she loved her younger siblings but she wasn’t sure if she would be a good mom. Eventually Akane said fuck it and jumped Nekomaru. Their son was born a little sickly but when he eats he feels better. Nekomaru monitor him well because eating is more of a placebo than a solution.

imma hit you with a question myself RN!!
I think you mentioned an oc that you thought of and created more as not a part of a story or a narrative but more of as something to reflect yourself onto. I would love to hear more about them<333
also also tell me about Trent and him being pyromaniac!!! i think you mentioned that he's trans so do those two things like connect to each other in any way???
rye thank U!! mwAH xo
alright so. the oc ur thinking of that i mentioned in the post ended up way too clear of a mirror for me to comfortably talk about him in public but, in the meantime, seeing just how fun those kinds of meaningless ocs are, another crept up on me and she is SO fun u have no idea.
she's basically a frankeinstein monster of all the tropes i think are cool as hell, she's a knight turned rogue-slash-mercenary, she's covered head to toe in armor and the rare time she loses the helmet the armor still comes up to her chin and she's ugly, disfigured by a tough life and many battle-earned scars (no pretty face hidden under a helmet here, and she's in her late forties), she's in the possession of a sentient weapon that is craving blood and violence and is always in a frenzied state of rage like no being in the universe could and she uses it to draw blood for her own revenge, she's what i wish all those 'please kill me' scenes in media ended with: while held captive with her brother, he begged her to kill him before they could and she did and they stopped her from killing herself and so now she has to live knowing she took her own blood's life and she's left alone in the world feeling so guilty she did as she was asked to.
also, she exists in a schodinger's cat state of both being a high fantasy rogue knight AND a sci-fi rogue soldier where her weapon is both a big sword and a cool gun and her armor is both a knight's armor and a space suit and her ride is both a big horse and a derelict bike. and she wants revenge on an old flame (obsessive love she swore fidelity to decades ago) who directly caused her brother's death. she's so gruff and mean and exhausted by life itself and still she clings and keeps on going out of spite and honor. she's great <3
as for trent, yeah!! they do, and in a major way! trent was at first conceived many years ago as part of an x-men-like plot with super-powered kids and his big discovery of firepowers was linked to coming out to his parents and blowing up the whole family home when it went wrong out of grief and anger. now as a very normal guy, they're still linked for me.
he started feeling something was wrong in his late childhood but had no way to word or understand what was happening to him, and his background in a struggling family with many siblings meant that he couldn't come out with what was wrong with him, be it being trans or any other problems young kids have (issues at school where he had troubles learning, for example) because they were more important issues at hand than his own, so he internalized things a lot and when it eventually came to a breaking point for him, he used fire to bleed out the wounds. pyromania is an impulse control disorder, arsonists set things on fire for a reason (glory, money, revenge, etc) where the distinction here is made is that pyromaniacs use fire as a way to release stress or soothe themselves, which is exactly what trent did, and still does.
trent is characterized by being withdrawn and intense, and so fire is the one instance where he lets things out. he cannot verbalize things well, nor can he confront or work things out on his own, so when the frustration boils over (because he is hot-headed and opinionated, despite his quiet behavior) he gets the urge to set things on fire. it was harder to deal with it as a teen with his family around, and with little to no control over his life, but as an adult now he can go burn things whenever he needs to. he never saw a psychiatrist for it, doesn't think there's something wrong with him for that, he only got caught once as a teen and passed it off as a dare he did with friends, he doesn't know how many wider fire he caused because of his activity but it happened more than once when burning bigger fire. i somehow always conceptualize his relationship with fire and gender to be linked, both because that's how i first came up with the character but also it feels right, that trent hides his identity as best as he can but it always catches up with him, the idea of burning bridges with his family is a strong one with him, as is the contained fire ready to spread if the glass is broken

I'm explaining D-Sides Spookeez/Lila/Susie lore to Void and I just remembered I have like. An entire little fan story for the trio of D-Sides Lila, Jaune, and Bob so let me just-
Bob used to be a scientist and when Lila and Jaune were little, they visited the lab he worked at and were so enthralled that they both aspired to become scientists themselves -- so they did!
They got jobs at the same place and wouldn't you know it, Bob was still working there! He was the advisor to the two of them and even in adulthood they still really looked up to him
Unfortunately, this is still Bob we're talking about -- however, rather than being a cannibal, Bob instead kidnaps people to perform experiments on them. Lila and Jaune eventually discovered this and, horrified and devastated, they called the cops on him
The whole lab got shut down. The two were still paid as long as they could find a new place to conduct experiments and studies, and Lila got Daddy Dearest to lend her this castle he used for Halloween parties for it (that part is actual lore and I still find that funny)
Bob is still part of the cult most likely, and instead of fun meat facts, he gives facts about the human body! His favorite relate to the pain tolerance of humans :]
Tender Treats happens about the same way: Bob is broken out of jail, and out of revenge, begins to hunt Skid and Pump, wanting to take them as bait for Lila -- however, he gets sidetracked by the funny little greeter at the haunted house he follows the Spookeez to, and, inspired by his werewolf costume, takes him instead
Lila discovers Bob kidnapped Streber while searching for the Spookeez and, knowing full well what Bob plans to do, calls Jaune to meet her at the lab. Jaune in turn calls John and Jack (sidenote, I think it'd be neat if they were detectives here instead of police officers)
The confrontation Lila and Bob have at the beginning of Tender Treats then happens here, though instead of smashing him with a frying pan, Lila manages to douse him in water and electrocutes him.
He's not dead because of course he isn't, so John and Jack shoot him a bunch and handcuff AND footcuff him. Whether he survived that is left ambiguous because Lila and Jaune go grab Streber right after, finding him strapped to a table with odd fluid being pumped into his bloodstream.
This is v long so hope you don't mind the word dump :> Lila appears in one (1) song in the actual mod and yet I have so many thoughts about her
Ohmygod I have many thoughts about this let me try to wrangle them all
The idea of Bob being a scientist has such a creepy and strangely D-Sides feel to me. Like it makes sense in a way but I don’t know why and that disturbs me
WAIT THAT’S ACTUAL LORE!? THAT’S COOL ACTUALLY-
Ooo Bob giving facts like that would be so funny and terrifying, like he just approaches you like “Did you know the human body can still survive without 12 of its organs?” “Did you know your head can remain conscious for up to 10 seconds after decapitation?”
Oh my god Streber as a werewolf I need to draw that
John and Jack as detectives instead seems like such a perfect D-Sides thing and I don’t know why
The thought of Streber being kidnapped instead of having his arm ripped off is super interesting to me. I think cause that seems like it would have more subtle but long term effects; like what would his friends do in that case? Having to deal with his arm would be traumatizing but like at least you kinda know what’s going on: he just lost an arm. What do you do when your friend’s been experimented on?

Linked to the anon who mentioned phosphorus etc… Shoto gave a lot of importance about his own feelings while building his new super move and style. Similarly Touya specified that when he cries - so when he feels negative emotions - his flames gets hotter, so he also has a type of power linked to feelings. This whole battle is emotional and a, and finally Touya had someone who went far to just stop him and show compassion and love. What if it’s just this instead ? That finally Touya is feeling something else rather than anger , hate , sadness and despair?
Also, pretty much in the fandom hinted Touya’s hair was turning whither because of the stress he underwent. But that can’t be entirely true , his hair started to change sooner than being discard. It always hit weird to me that he has the most white hair of all of his siblings and Rei’s constitution and yet he showed no inclination , even the minimal towards ice. Like , I’d not expect Shoto’s balance , but none, even a 10% of ice vs fire?
So in wondered if this is it. Hori gave much space to heart in Shoto’s explanation of how phosphorus works and heart seems to be the key, both metaphorically and phisically. So if Touya even have a little ice in him Shoto might have been a kindling of something Touya can do by himself and have a little of cool down (even if not at the same level of Shoto of course).
Plus if that would be true that would be devasting and if I were as sadistic as AFO I’d totally use this. This would mean Enji doomed his son just because he wanted to produce some mini endeavours instead of raising children to be heroes considering their needs, personalities and personal abilities.
Yeah, @thyandrawrites wrote up here well how it could all come together thematically for Touya to have some kind of quirk awakening and natural cooling powers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just looking at the light on Touya's chest, I'm mostly reminded of Shouto training Phosphor.
For me, it makes most sense if this "mingling" with Shouto awakens in Touya something as well - something that he perhaps possessed too his whole life, but never experienced. This is the first time after all that he experiences the fire they both inherited from Endeavor not just constantly turned up hotter, but controlled and cool. Not trained to burn and destroy, but to cool and save.
And I like the symbol of Shouto leaving a literal piece of his heart / his light that he created for Touya, so he too can find the reason for his existence and to maybe discover that the two of them are not so different after all.
I just think also that there should be a narrative reward for Touya's backbone - the way that he turned down AFO's offers twice. It would be cheap if AFO gave him a power while in coma or something like that.
And yes, it's definitely been implied that Endeavor gave up on Touya too soon. So to find that he's been perfect all along, would be another blow for Endeavor (though I think eventually, the narrative has to somehow square the circle: measuring children's value based on their hero potential is plain wrong / but also a hero can be inside anyone if only they get the encouragement).
I've been rolling this around my head what could Endeavor's resolution be here. I think narratively it's fitting if he's left in a personal hell where AFO's psychological warfare confronts him with all his sins giving voice to his guilt and doubt. It's the final punishment he built for himself by sacrificing everyone to get to No. 1. I also feel like Endeavor will fail here as a hero, but rise as a father. It was never his role to go over that symbolic bridge, so he cannot achieve what All Might couldn't, and he can't defeat AFO.
I used to think that it was only for Shouto to cross that bridge finally, but lately I'm feeling like it would be more fitting for his sons to cross instead together, and for Endeavor to sacrifice the hero / his ego to help them get there.

Wereluxray!Clemont fic request! (Pokémon anime; humanoid and non-feral in mind); Clemont finds out he can transform into a Wereluxray on the night of the full moon due to his bond with his Luxray. His friends soon find out (detailed (and mildly uncomfortable) transformation please!)(takes place after Confronting The Darkness!)
Clemont was part Pokémon, he knew.
He knew that while a minority and rarity, there were others out there like him, a human-Pokémon hybrid.
He’s seen some become coordinators, gym leaders, and the latter he strives to become too.
Sure he liked electronics and engineering, but perhaps it’s the Pokémon in him, that gave the adrenaline rush of battle so enticing.
When he meet Ash, the feeling only surged more.
Ash didn’t seem to figure out he was a hybrid at first, and why would he?
He looked on the outside, just your average person.
But if one looked closer, one could see faint blue and black highlights in his hair, the iris of his eyes having a slight red tint, and the fact he seemed practically fine after any of his inventions exploded thanks to his immunity on electricity.
He was part Luxray, and perhaps that got the close bond between him and his eventual team member, an actual Luxray, to be as close as it has been.
He was part of the hybrid group that only changed on a full moon.
Scientist aren’t sure why, as most that transform from the full moon are hybrids of fairy, dark, or ghost type Pokémon.
When he transforms, it feels exhilarating.
Others would say it’s due to being able to mega evolve (he can’t), or perhaps being able to battle alongside your Pokémon (nocturnal mainly).
He can’t complain, he gets all the skills of a Luxray. X-Ray vision, incredible endurance and speed, and of course using electric moves.
It isn’t till Ash first sees his full transformation, does he feel shame from it.
It was a full moon, the first since he and Bonnie began to travel with Ash.
Once the sun begins to set, and camp is set up, Bonnie quickly goes to distract Serena, but is a little late with Ash.
Clemont doesn’t realize until the moon begins to rise in the sky.
He feels his blood pumping quickly, his eyes shine bright red, his arms and leg hair turning night black with a sharp end.
It used to be super painful when he first transformed years ago, but now it seems mild at most. It’s why he doesn’t have the best endurance unlike Ash during the day. Despite being less painful, the sore muscles still remain.
He’s honestly just thankful his clothes don’t tear from said transformation. He doesn’t have the tail thank goodness.
His Luxray, the only one of his mons on hand, already comes by his side as the transformation ends.
He sighs, petting him on the head with a small smile, “Another night together eh buddy?”
Luxray purrs, charging with electricity in response.
The electricity moves like water on Clemont, his veins feeling on fire, yet cool as ice.
It was a good night to transform, already a thunderstorm appearing with rain as a cold blanket on the pair.
“C-Clemont?”
The blond freezes, his eyes turning even more red as he looks behind him.
There near the trees is Ash, his Pikachu by his side.
Ash’s face was pale white.
Luxray growls, but Pikachu quickly goes and tries to calm him down.
“Ash! I can explain!” Clemont shouts, the thunder drowning the volume.
Ash didn’t speak for a couple minutes.
At least he didn’t run or shout, but the ice cold feeling inside doesn’t make him feel any better.
“Your a hybrid?” Ash manages to finally speak.
Clemont nods, his blacken fur stands up as the storm gets more intense with lightning.
“You too?”
Clemont’s eyes now go wide, his mouth in an ‘o’ shape as just seconds later…Ash revels a patch of blue and black fur of a certain fighting type on his shoulder.
“…Not what I was expecting.” Clemont says.
Ash laughs, smiling bright, “You and me both.”

Let’s say, hypothetically (and i hope nones asked this already), that griffith reacted to guts leaving in a self destructive way that didnt necessarily throw him in a fuckin dungeon for a year (say, self repressed even more) so when guts comes back a year later griffith is still griffith but so much more fucked up emotionally, how do you think that would have worked out? And for guts, i cant tell what exactly made him come back? Did he find a dream (i dont think it was implied anywhere?) or did he think it enough to just be with griffith and the hawks again even if it means not being dear to griffith?
Second question first: Guts actually came back because he heard that the Hawks were exiled from Midland and hiding in the woods and being lead by Casca, and went to investigate. He intended to stay to help rescue Griffith and then leave again to continue pursuing his own dream, inviting Casca with him as long as she doesn't get in the way of his goal. Then, when they discovered that Griffith was permanently disabled and needed a caretaker, and Guts internalized that fact, he did decide it was enough to just be with Griffith and the Hawks again. This is suggested in his "Why do I only see these things after they're done and gone?" internal monologue in chapter 71, where he finally acknowledges that he shouldn't have left at all. Plus he directly tells both Judeau and Casca that he wants to stay to take care of Griffith now, while they both tell him to leave.
And now for the first question:
Honestly if it was just a year later, Guts was coming back to visit or whatever, then I think it would be... painfully polite and awkward lol. Guts hasn’t fulfilled his dream and is therefore not Griffith’s equal yet, so he’s not expecting to be bffs with him. And Griffith’s fucked up emotions take the form of extra aloofness imo, so he would treat Guts pretty much exactly how Guts might expect to be treated, but wouldn’t actually want, ie politely and distantly. In this scenario I see Guts leaving again to keep working on the dream.
I think what could be an interesting premise for like, a slowburn fic on the other hand, is if Guts comes back when he thinks he has successfully fulfilled his dream and become Griffith’s equal - say it’s five years later. He’s become the best swordsman anyone knows of, he’s killed a few apostles probably, he’s feeling pretty good about his skills, his dedication, and his achievements. So he goes back to Midland to visit Griffith, who’s now king maybe, and Griffith smiles coldly and politely when he sees him, is perfectly courteous, offers him a room to stay in, and excuses himself to deal with king stuff.
So still painfully polite and awkward, but now Guts is thinking to himself, what gives, he did what he was supposed to do. So he tries to get closer to Griffith, and maybe eventually directly confronts him and they have it out.
(Hm, an actual plot could be that Midland is facing Ganishka’s empire-building army and Guts returns both to be Griffith’s cool warrior bff and to help him out, and this would force them to work together and interact.)
Anyway so you get some days/weeks/months of strained awkwardness, Guts’ attempts to bridge the gap and demonstrate his worthiness, Griffith’s incredibly mixed feelings because he still loves Guts but he’s afraid of that vulnerability, throw in some moments where Griffith’s true feelings shine through and give Guts super mixed signals, like eg Griffith saving his life again or defending him to an asshole nobleman or something, it eventually leads to Guts thinking he’s still not good enough and planning to leave again after the war or something, or possibly just giving up on the idea that he could ever be Griffith’s equal, before a climactic event happens which proves Griffith’s feelings and forces a confession or something and they finally talk and make out.

my very first earnest attempt at drawing my boy when i was first playing ilitw vs my most recent stab at it again, five years later. i'd like to think that i've shown some noticeable improvement...? at the very least, i've switched art programs since then, thank fucking god.
misc information about him under the cut bc atp i have essentially blorbofied him but im self conscious about it u_u
His name is Oscar Velasco. Technically, the name is Óscar, but the thing about growing up as a kid of color in a majority-white town is that you eventually give up on correcting your teachers when they mispronounce your name and resign yourself to going along with it.
His favorite animals are dogs and corvids, crows especially. His parents didn’t let him have pets as a kid, but he would sneak food to the crows that hung around the house because he read once on an animal fact card that crows can remember faces and thought it was super cool. He eventually managed to win their trust, and they started to follow him around and bring him gifts. When he was in middle school, one of his crows left a dead sparrow on his windowsill which was, like, kind of disturbing, but also sick as hell? He didn’t want it to go to waste, so he cleaned up the skull and turned it into a pendant. When Ava finally hears the story behind it she literally starts shaking him by the shoulders out of excitement because holy shit, that’s metal as fuck, and also, you gotta introduce me to your crowbros now.
He was kind of quiet and withdrawn as a kid. Entering kindergarten as a kid with undiagnosed ADHD was like being thrown into the deep end of the swimming pool with weights tied to his ankles. He was smart, but had troubling understanding and remembering directions long enough to follow them. It didn't help, either, that his teachers back then were often short with him, mistaking his confusion for oppositional noncompliance. So he was the kid who spent most of his time in class spacing out or doodling absently in the margins of his sheetwork, and most of his recesses hiding under a picnic table reading books he brought from home...
...at least, until he met Jane. It was nice to have someone to protect and look out for, someone who genuinely believed in him. He felt like he could do anything as long as she needed him to be strong for her. And then Jane died, and everyone else drifted away, and he went back to hiding under picnic tables. But at least he got in a few good years of a normal, happy childhood.
He's not used to being a priority in people's lives and he truly doesn't expect people to care about him with the same intensity that he does for them. When he sacrificed himself so that Noah wouldn't have to, that was kind of supposed to be the end of it. If he thinks too hard about Noah coming back for him, confronting his fears and letting the Power back into his life to find a way to save him, his head might explode. Anyway this is the only thing I can say about their dynamic without wanting to throw myself into the ocean:

The dark circles under his eyes are genetic. I mean, he's also an insomniac, but that has nothing to do with how tired he looks. Don't Worry About It

YOU WOULD??? OMG WHENEVER I SAY THAT I'M WRITING SHISUI/HIDAN PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY IT'S A TRASHY SHIP
Anyway. I don't actually know how well they could work in canon, but the idea for the fic is that Hidan has been around for a long, long time (in canon it's never said for how long he's been immortal iirc and I love potential immortality-based angst, also we never really see him use any chakra except for like, sticking to trees I think? So I like to think that he's been around from before the chakra people started to be born) and he used to be some sort of mercenary hired to kill people, and one day he was sent to take care of the army of a kingdom where Shisui (maybe I'll use some different name for this past version of him but I have yet to decide) was the ruler
Used to being unmatched in a fight, Hidan finds himself stopped by Shisui who is able to fight him somehow equally and so Hidan gets basically obsessed with Shisui and they eventually end up being lovers
One day Shisui, who knows will eventually die and leave Hidan alone, performs a ritual to link their souls together and make them soulmates, making Hidan promise he'll find him in every single one of his future lives (and I think I'll put some kind of soulmark on both of them as a result of the ritual to show that they're linked)
The main story takes place around the time the Uchiha coup should happen (with past memories sprinkled here and there once Shisui starts remembering his past lives) when Shisui meets Hidan during an ANBU mission and they fight since Hidan had been hired as a temporary mercenary/bodyguard to protect Shisui's target, however during the fight something happens (to be determined, I'm not super good with writing fights but I'll come up with something) that makes it so that Shisui's soulmark is revealed, after which Hidan refuses to fight him anymore
Shisui doesn't think much of it at first, but he starts meeting Hidan on every single mission after that first one (Hidan knows he can't exactly walk into Konoha, he's not stupid and I think I'll make him a bit less psycopath as well, so he waits until he sees Shisui leaving and then follows him, and since I'd put him as someone from before the chakra times he'd have no chakra for Shisui to sense him) and after a little while Shisui decides to confront him about it
I have a bit of a bullet point list after this (Hidan telling Shisui they're soulmates, Shisui not believing him, Shisui starting to have dreams/remember his past lives etc...) but that's as far as I got and it's, like, two chapters truly fully written? And that's it (because all the past stuff will be later on so I haven't actually written it as chapters yet)
It all started because I saw a fanart with Hidan and Shisui together (not romantically, they were just in the same picture) and my brain just couldn't stop thinking about them being actual lovers
I plan on making it a bit dark and go quite heavy on Hidan's romantic obsession with Shisui, and after Shisui will realize the truth I'll probably put in there some good Uchiha-obsession as well. Not on 'yandere' levels (I don't like the yandere cliché too much) but still enough to make it clear that their relationship isn't all roses and flowers (is that a saying in english? I just kinda translated a saying from my og language 🤣), they're both very unhinged and quite co-dependant with each other
And now that I talked about it with you I feel like I wanna go write more of it, so now I need to find the WIP...
Anon, look at me, right in the eyes: we are talking about fictional characters from the most ridiculous hair-brained series that has somehow gripped us all for donkey's years. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for how you're playing around with canon, it's all make believe anyway and we should be allowed to be as unhinged as we like haha
Have fun and screw the haters!
1) this whole idea is super cool!!! I'd love to see where you go with Hidan's religion and the morals of his human sacrifice and blood letting etc (there is a fascinating Sakura-centric fic out there where Sakura is converted to Jashinism, the author has some extremely interesting takes on the religion) and how it interlines with Shisui's own dubious morality within the bigger picture of Shinobi morals being fucked up like crazy to begin with...!
2) Shisui somehow beats Hidan and gets his interest? Ayyyy Hidan can't draw blood and kill him if he's not fast enough to catch him first~
3) toxic evil murder husbands... Nice, brings to mind-
Tumblr media
Hidan kills people for his homicidal religious zealousness... Shisui looks like a saint in comparison but that's just because he rewrites the minds of his opponents so no one even knows how bad he is (🙏🙏🙏 Shisui deserves to be a human monster, as a little treat 👉👈)
4) Also this has the potential for that whole "A fell first but B fell harder" dynamic because Hidan has been loving Shisui as a lifestyle for DECADES but Shisui gets bulldozed by memories and pitches headfirst into obsession after fighting Hidan's claims for a little too long... 😩
Thanks for sharing, Anon! And good luck with the WIP, if you do decide to continue!

More angsty S1 YasMoon because they're so!!! THEY'RE SO!!! They're so important to me, you don't understand. I've made them both such rich inner worlds that only exist in my mind but by GOD if I'm not Unwell about the complex, nuanced, and BRUTALLY flawed versions of them that live in my head rent-free ;_____;
Like I am gripped by how many things it re-contextualizes if Yas and Moon were hooking up in Season 1. Like that's why Moon so doggedly remained Yasmine's faithful, right-hand Evil Bitch, despite being a very good-natured person normally. That's why these girls were almost grinding in that one concert video Sam showed Amanda. And that's why their beach party confrontation had enough tension to fill an olympic-sized swimming pool. It was a damn breakup akajndslfkjl
Anyways, I'm hoping I can write some full-length one-shots that delve into this more, but I'm just imagining that during S1 and before, Moon was just...an absolutely hopeless pining mess. Like she did everything for Yasmine and went along with whatever she said in hopes that Yas would eventually love her the same...or at least love her openly. She knew Yas could be sweet and giving in private, but she wanted more than anything to be shown off and flaunted like something to be proud of (part of why she eventually ditched Yas for Hawk! Although he went way too far in the other direction to the point of like. Treating her more like a coolness prize than a person ^^;). Yasmine only ever treated her softly and gently when no one else was looking, and it killed Moon. She hated always feeling like a side piece and an afterthought, and still only ever getting dismissively called "a friend." Or sometimes just a lackey, even if Yasmine wouldn't say it directly. I think finally standing up to Yasmine was just as much about wanting better for herself as well as all the people Yasmine bullied.
Like the way she seems guilty about cutting Sam off and horrified to see Kyler mocking her in front of the entire cafeteria implies she's not really comfortable with all the awful stuff Yas does. And like sure, she could stick with Yasmine out of platonic loyalty or to have a popularity safety net, BUT. Being a Yasmine simp would explain just how much she's willing to tolerate before she kicks Yas to the curb XD And hey, she's canonically got a thing for mean, aggressive people, does she not???
Anyways tl;dr poor Season 1 Moon </3 Girl was in love with Yasmine and I WILL die on that hill. Would explain why she was super high and out of it for a lot of S1, too. Girl was coping (er...not healthily) with her gf a) not admitting she was her gf and b) not cherishing her like she secretly wanted </3 Yasmine fr pushes her lesbianism so far down it may as well collide with the earth's core at this point.
In my heart she accepts it and owns it at some point in the distant future, bless iashluybkh
Big, big fan of that locket on the bottom right, btw. Headcanon Yas gifted it to Moon during S1, but was like "if you ever wear this, you CANNOT tell people I gave it to you lest they think we're... g a y" ;______; Like that's not even the first conclusion people would probably come to anyways, but poor Yas is so paranoid about people suspecting she isn't straight that she feels like she has to shut down anything that could possibly point to that D: Also dying on my hill that she has a more difficult relationship with her parents than she lets on and they're either subtly or openly homophobic, which is why she represses her sexuality so adamantly
As always, pic credits available upon request!
