Ok, question. In the comics, do Namor's people love him? Like, as a ruler? I'm curious because I've read pretty much nothing of Namor's back catalogue but I've read a lot of Victor Von Doom's, and one of the frustrating parts of Victor being a king, is that authors cannot agree on if he's beloved by his people or holding them hostage.I feel like the two are similar in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to their devotion to protecting their respective people. But I'd be curious to know if Namor's authors have been all over the place like Victor's.
The Atlanteans despise Namor. lmao. Like a lot. Like I can't even explain how fucked up it is that Namor was abused physically, verbally, and emotionally by his grandfather Emperor Tha-Korr, but he still was raised to be the Protector of Atlantis. How Tha-Korr sent him off to wage war alone against an entire surface world at the age of 17/18, how once Tha-Korr humiliated Namor as a child by tying him to the side of an Atlantean spire when Namor asked to see the surface, how much racist bullshit Namor gets from the Atlanteans because he wasn't blue skinned, the bullying from other kids, etc. Namor even knows how bad it is with his people because once he outright states he knows that his people would not live alongside another group of sea people because they are racist. There's some comics that show Tha-Korr in a good grandfatherly kindly light but like you just need to read enough see that he actually hated Namor for being half human.
In the comics the Atlanteans blame Namor like 70% of the time for their issues, or they kick him off the throne or out of Atlantis. There's about 30% of comics where he's actually shown to be beloved, but it doesn't take long for them to turn against Namor. It really depends on the writer because there are always a few people who support Namor but many of the Atlanteans look at Namor with mistrust because he often helps the surface world. But generally speaking the Atlanteans look down on Namor as their "Half Breed Prince" which just again, drives home the point Namor struggles with being biracial in a racist culture. I could pull out examples for like a masterpost someday but just wanted to respond to this quickly, lol. I should make a call out post for Tha-Korr and the Atlanteans like:

As for Namor and Doom, YEAH!!!! I always felt they were similar by the fact they both experienced racism growing up (namor's racism is fictional compared to Victor's real world racism of the Romani people) and both of them were basically outcasts in larger society, rose up to become leaders of their nations. There's alot those two have in common and I always want to explore more with them.
I adore them.

Sometimes writers really want to get it across that except for that minor point of being an autocratic dictator, Doom actually has good politics! Except for that one minor point! That tiny foible!

Imperial Cheater!
Tumblr media
Self-proclaimed "family man" takes the meaning too literally...
Tumblr media
Emperor Victor Lofton has built his image, long before he decided to get greedy with map borders, upon the image of the perfect family. With a devoted wife, two perfect children, and two equally perfect grandchildren, the new Emperor has spent his life on the throne touting "old-fashioned values" and "family first ideology."
Unfortunately, it seems His Imperial Majesty took the meaning of "family man" a little too literally- as at least three other secret families of his were recently discovered, scattered all over the globe!
The Emperor managed to keep his dirty laundry hidden for some time, but everyone knows, those in glass houses are ill-advised to throw stones, leading many within the New Windenburgian Empire to start to question His Majesty. If he can build his entire reign on being a devoted and loving husband and father, then turn around and have no less than three mistresses (and at least 5 extra-marital children!), then what else is he lying about? Is the New Windenburgian Empire even a good idea?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Probably the most famous of his secret families- famed San Myshuno socialite, heiress, and hotel tycoon Isabella Bray, and her two sons, high-profile financial advisor Antony, and swimsuit and underwear model Austin. The little family pictured here at the Bachelor of the Year awards where Antony was the honoree.

Another confirmed mistress and two more children are the school teacher Miss Karelle Morrigan, and her two daughters, teenaged Anabella and little Miss Liliana. Miss Morrigan, originally from Henford-on-Bagely, had moved to Windenburg to teach at a small private primary school, where the Emperor's grandchildren were in attendance. Since her first pregnancy, Miss Morrigan has left that school and returned to Henford. This photo was taken from Miss Anabella's instagram from a Mother's Day post where she praises Miss Morrigan for raising both girls single-handedly. Not great press for the "familial-minded" Emperor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most insidious mark on Emperor Victor's character though has come from the third confirmed mistress- Miss Sonia Affron- and her son, Julien, seen here being picked up from his public school in Windenburg. Miss Affron and her son reportedly recieve government financial assistance and live in a low-income housing development while she works two jobs- as a waitress in a local diner, and as a housekeeper on the weekends. Sources say Miss Affron worked for His Imperial Majesty as a maid in the palace, until she got pregnant, and "decided to leave." Forcing your pregnant mistress to leave her job and then not financially supporting either her or your child by her? That sounds incredibly shady, Your Majesty, and not very much like someone who cares about his family at all.
The most ridiculous part about all of this, however? The mistresses and the children were found because of one demand on the Emperor's part- their last names? Every single one of his children born out of wedlock have the last name of Fitzroy... which means "child of the King." Which not only made these children incredibly easy to find, but also, many are pointing out how arrogant of a move that is on His Majesty's part. Naming your secret children "Fitzroy" is just as obvious as giving them the name Lofton.
Many people are calling into question the Emperor's right to rule. If he can't follow the morals he preaches himself, how does he expect his subjects to? What do you think of this big discovery?

who were the two in the box you had to look up??????
Solas Fen’harel and I had to ask a friend about Il Dottore, because I’m not in either the Genshin fandom nor the Dragon Age one (and in fact am so far removed from that fandom that I have never seen anything about it at all). I’m also not directly in the Owl House fandom, but I knew enough from a friend’s interest in it and posts to understand the context.
I knew about Frankenstein because…well who doesn’t know about Frankenstein — and anyway I’m into BSD, which has ties to Frankenstein through SB. So yeah.

Hey! I have a question; what is Doctor Doom's deal? What's he really do in terms of villainy
Aside from all the murders of which he is justified (except for Valeria but we don't talk about that) and his attempts are homewrecking the Fantastic Four, and the world domination attempts, and becoming the God Emperor, nothing. He is a perfect little meow meow.
