A celebrity au where Ava is a football player for Arsenal and Beatrice is a famous pop star — loosely inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s meet-cute.

Ava Silva has never been a morning person.

If you ask her, it should be a crime to wake up before 10 a.m. If humans were meant to be out of bed sooner, then how come Ava always feels like she needs an extra hour or two before she can really wake up and start her day?

If there’s a chance she can get an extra forty winks in, then she’ll take it.

It’s funny – you’d think as a professional football player she’d be used to waking up early. Her career means that she often has to be up at the crack of dawn to travel to matches or be at training for early drills on the pitch.

Still, if it were up to Ava, she’d be asking coach to schedule all future training sessions to start no later than noon. Anything earlier is frankly just a crime.

Sure, she knows Coach Superion would never agree to it – not to mention the small problem of some matches kicking off at 12.30 p.m. – but a girl can dream, can’t she?

Ava would rather be in her bed watching the latest season of Sex Education on Netflix right now, than practising headers on the training ground with Lilith and Chanel.

“Silva! On your head!” Lilith barks at her from the corner flag.

Ava snaps to attention as the midfielder kicks the ball, crossing it into the penalty box. Never taking her eye off it, Ava puts on a burst of speed and leaps into the air to meet it head-on.

With perfect timing, her forehead connects with the ball, sending it soaring toward the top corner of the goal. Chanel’s desperate dive comes too late as the ball hits the back of the net with a resounding thud.

“Ooooooh did you see that?” Ava grins, “Did you?” She asks again, looking in Lilith’s direction.

The older girl walks over from the corner flag with an unamused look on her face. “It was okay.”

“Okay!?” Ava baulks, “Lilith, that header was fucking gold and you know it!”

Chanel throws her the retrieved ball from the net and Ava catches it with both hands. She dances around Lilith, bouncing up and down on her toes – in return, the midfielder rolls her eyes.

Ava ignores her grumpy teammate’s sour mood. After scoring a near-on-perfect-headed goal, she has total bragging rights.

Lilith can suck it.

“C’mon, that was so-so epic! Did you not see the way I leapt up in the air like a fucking salmon swimming upstream…I mean, I practically flew like I was fucking Superman or something. Cristiano Ronaldo ain’t got shit on me!” She boasts, spinning the football on her finger like a basketball.

Lilith pinches her brow with her fingers and lets out a long exasperated sigh. “Please tell me you did not just compare yourself to Ronaldo…”

“Ronaldo, Superman… and a salmon,” Ava corrects, flashing the midfielder a cocky grin.

“Jesus Christ… ”

“You’re right, I’m better than Jesus too.”

The midfielder groans and Ava loves every second of it.

Winding Lilith up was one of her favourite pastimes. It makes these early morning training sessions somewhat bearable.

What does your perfect "normal" day look like?

Hello anon!

I'll take this as a normal study day (but without classes cause they never have the same time for long, and tbh I much prefer when I home study because I don't have to commute).

I like to wake up early, so on a productive day I would wake up between 6.15 and 6.30. One of the reasons I like to wake up early other than the fact that I have more energies in the morning, is to take my time with my morning routine. I get out of bed get a book and a blanket and make myself my favourite green tea with some mint leaves mixed in there and I just read my book as I drink my tea. It's genuinely my favourite part of the day, I love it, it's the best habit I have implemented in my life. I usually read for half an hour-ish, then I'd have something small for my first breakfast and get ready. On a day like this when I don't have to commute or anything I would start studying around 8. Around 10 I would take a break if it's sunny I'd go for a 30 minutes-ish walk near my house in the woods, maybe listening to an audiobiok. When I'd get back I would make myself another cup of tea, maybe have something to eat as a second breakfast. By 10.45 I'd be back on my to do list, and I would take my lunch break at 11.30/12 depending on what I have to do and my energies. I eat lunch with my family at 12.30 and then it's actual break time. I have a rule of not studying after meals, which means I get to do anything I want for a couple of hours, read, watch an episode of a tv show, do some garden work, anything that feels relaxing. Around 14 I usually make myself an herbal tea of some kind, and depending on what's on my to do list for the day I'd start studying around 14.30/15 till 17/17.30, again depending on my to do list and energies. And after that it's free time again to either do something creative or just do relaxing activities. I then eat dinner with my family at 19.15 more or less and then watch a movie or a tv show or something. Since I like to wake up early I like to get in bed early as well which means that I am usually in my bed by 21.30/22 to read half an hour-ish before sleeping.

Wow that was long. I am a very time fixated person apparently, but I like my habits. So much so that if my dad doesn't see me making myself my teas at the usual hours when I am home he comes to check in on me. Anyway, thanm you for your ask!

January 2024!!!

hello friends, i made it in time before January ends! hahaha

i got my very first GPA! and it's... drum rolls please... 3.95/4! 🎉✨ alhamdulillah if it not for Allah's numerous help, wouldn't be here 🥺 now it's time to prepare and plan and strategize for second semester and keep up with the good work!

here comes the best part of January: my coldplay Singapore trip! this trip is the first time i'm taking my sister with me as it's also her bday gift from our parents, and as you've probably guessed, i took care of everything lol even from renewing our passports to making itinerary list and public transportation route maps... but it was fun! i love making sure everything is under control 😂

but of course things don't always go by our plan because my flight to Singapore got delayed for almost four hours, and we arrived at Changi airport close to midnight. that also meant the last MRT train to city had already departed, and we were forced to take taxis. then of course yet again taxis are so hard to find it's so jarring the difference of night life in Jakarta vs Singapore lol so we had to take Grab Car ride which was a lot more expensive (S$ 32.4 or roughly 378,000 IDR! by cash!) i literally almost tried to kip a night at the airport but decided against it at the end because in the morning we have to be at the stadium 🤪 (spoiler this trip is all about rushing here and there lol) so yeah took a 13 mins car ride to our hotel and met kak Regina, my first coldplay twitter mutual i'm meeting on this trip! 12 am and exhausted from the flight, we all went to bad after a lil chit chat.

next morning is finally d-day! Jan 27th 2024 i won't forget you ever 🥺 i was gonna be super ambitious of getting barrier to the point i want to leave the hotel at 6.30 AM but you can't deceive your age lol ok well i was just so tired and i have early entry ticket anyway so i deferred a bit and went to the stadium at 8 AM instead hehe. fun part is kak Regina was told by local uncle a shorter route to reach Singapore Sportshub complex and that's the route we took, so instead of spending so much time at the MRT and walking to the station, we took a short bus ride and then walk a straight line from Geylang road to the Sportshub outer door near Nicoll Highway. surprisingly (not) i love the walking route because masyaAllah Singapore is so clean and i loooooove walkable cities it's my dream to live in one 🥺🥺🥺 we arrived at the stadium at around 8.30 AM, and of course there was no queue yet and the Kallang Wave Mall wasn't even open yet, so what did we do? sit down next to the entrance gate and enjoy the morning breeze, no pollution whatsoever... it was so calm and peaceful!

at 10 AM my sister left us to go sightseeing at Orchard rd with her friends while me and kak Regina decided to go eat breakfast at Kallang Wave Mall, to eat at this food court named My Kampung. this was the time i met three of my coldplay mutuals! one from is Sri from Pekalongan, Indonesia and two are ate Andrea and ate Abbie from the Philippines! it was nice all of us talk a lot about coldplay and lil bit of kpop, exchanged gifts, and took pics 💙 also here in this mall everywhere you look you'll find so many people coming down after finishing their workouts. again i envy Singaporeans so much they have this sports complex where you have ALL you need to accommodate their sports activities and then a living public area to shower and eat after, all connected to every line of public transportation system...

12.30 PM i left the group because i had to collect the special fabric wristband for early entry VIP ticket holders, and there was a lil queue, not much people start queueing. here i met another coldplay mutual bang Tulus from Indonesia!

(edit: 29/02/2024 - it's always the coldplay show posts that i procrastinate bc i have so many things to say YET no time to write it down!)

after getting my Kubik blue fabric wristband, came the dreaded part of going to concerts: queueing 💀 i swear to God, Singapore's temp was so hot that day, it's funny because days before it was full raining... not sure whether to be grateful or not because if it rained it'd be damp, if the sun's scorching hot we'd be sizzled. and sizzled we were! bang Tulus introduced me to his two other friends, the lovely kak Afi and bang Reza, both who have had the lucky opportunity of meeting Chris before! we set a strategy on how to get barrier, and thankfully i reserved a spot on the very front of the queue line.

4 PM, it was finally the time to enter the venue! (not yet the stadium, YES there were two different queues) and thanks to our organized strategy we got barrier when we were allowed to enter the stadium 🥺

(edit: 15/03/2024 - lol i’m buried in my assignments i’m so sorry for the very late update 😭)

barrier spot is always the best for me, though the minus point is that you don’t get the full view of everything - but i get to see Chris, Jonny, Guy, and Will sooo up close! almost got a fist bump from Jonny but his hands were too far 🥲

anyways again i can’t write down the whole story because honestly it’s an experience where i think words can’t do it justice! i just remember how much fun i have, seeing coldplay tour crews walking around (Anna Lee the tour photographer took a pic of us!!! and our pic is included in the band’s tour app gallery!!! and also Mike the camera guy he was in our section a lot hahah), the confetti cannons in front of us literally shooting hundreds of confetti into our mouth and pockets lol.

i’m always so emotional every time i get to the end of the show, listening to A Wave as the credit title rolls, seeing people leaving the stadium… listening to the studio mastered ver of it is already a tearjerker moment but hearing it live at the end of your show? man. i got so overwhelmed i think i spent a few minutes just taking it all in. trying to permanently carve the memories onto my brain. i’m so lucky i get to find happiness in everything everywhere everyone i’m so so so happy!!!

also at the end i get to meet Isha finally! we were separated at the start of the concert because she wanted a spot near A stage. we took pics with confettis and i’m sure we were one of the few who exited the stadium the last 😂 in retrospect i was one of the first to enter with my early entry ticket and the last one to leave? 😂😂 that’s so on brand of me 😆 then i went to the merch exchange spot to get the early entry special package and i’m so sad they cut off my fabric wristband! 😭 then i said goodbyes to kak Afi, bang Tulus, bang Reza… what a wholesome bunch 🥹🫶🏻

this show i’m only sad about not getting to meet Tugce (from Germany) and P’Bogey, P’Nummon, and P’Pang (from Thailand) because i was already in queue line and couldn’t get out 😭😭😭 next show i will make it through ☝🏻

11 PM, finally i went back to my hotel, the MRT was so packed i’m glad kak Regina knew a trick to make sure we don’t get stuck (from MRT Stadium you get on the train to Paya Lebar direction and drop off at the MRT Mountbatten station, then walk the rest to Geylang area it��s a straight route you won’t get lost, thank me later!) and we arrived at around 11.30.

can you believe we spent HOURS outside so we were drenched in sweat and i ordered everyone to take a shower lol and we couldn’t waste time because we have to get to the airport at 3 AM though our flight is on 7 AM (it’s our Asian blood behavior of always make sure you’re at the airport t-3 hours!!!) as the timekeeper naturally i didn’t slept at all 🤡 made sure everyone packed everything and then ordered the taxi! Isha tagged along because she didn’t want to spend more money though her flight is on 2 PM 😭

kinda a heartfelt moment when we finally part ways (kak Regina’s boarding gate is at T2, mine’s at T4, Isha’s at T3) and also thinking this is the end of such a chaotic fun messy spontaneous trip 😆 forever grateful coldplay got me into this adventure of a lifetime! my 2017 coldplay Singapore show is memorable because it’s my first but this second one… it’s so special because i get to meet so many of my best friends from all over the world 🥹

only spent less than 48 hours in Singapore but the energy i got is enough to fuel me for the second semester. my heart is so warm and full… 🫶🏻 so many things i never even imagined are happening, things i used to think can only happen in daydreams… i feel like a tide is about to turn and i’m so excited! there’s this phrase Chris wrote on his piano, “open + surrender” and it reminds me so much of the concept of tawakkul! i firmly believe in it and i’m glad i never wavered - time is indeed your best friend!

What a one day trip to Espiritu Santo Island will offer to tourists

If you are on a trip to the California Gulf to enjoy top beach resorts make it a point to visit La Paz, Mexico as it is one of the top attraction of the world in terms of possessing unspoiled stretch of beaches. The Espiritu Santo island tours are part of the La Paz holidays and an important trip that involves the twin islands of Espiritu and Patrida. These are made of volcanic rocks and riled with inlets that harbor white sanded beaches that are aquamarine. The tour may be for a short period of 8-9 hours but offer immense tourism value and knowledge that you may not have expected before. You can book these tours from Marina, Palmira, La Paz and you are advised to do it well in advance.

How you start the day on tour the island tour?

The tour is organized and executed using a luxury yacht managed by a team of ocean experts including captain, marine biologist, chef, deck hand and a horde of swimming and diving equipment. The tour starts in the early morning 7AM and the journey from Los Cabos corridor starts. You arrive at the Marina Palmira, La Paz to board a Baja Cat vessel such as a yacht or catamaran and the journey towards Espiritu Island will start at 9AM. On the way you will be served with coffee, fruits, pastries, cakes, soft beverages, beer, and other assorted drinks. At 10 AM you get to see the sea lions at San Rafaelito and the marine biologist will explain about the sea of Cortez and what it has in its depth. You can dip in to the water to see school of fishes swimming near the bottom and also meet the sea lions at close quarters and even play with them as they are human friendly. You will arrive at Espiritu Santo Island between 11.30 and 12.30 and will remain there till departure. Departure from the island will be at 6PM.

Sumptuous lunch spread on board at Espiritu Santo The day trip Espiritu Santo Island will include water sport activities like snorkeling, kayaking, diving, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and kayaking. These activities will result in coming in close contact with a variety of sea life such as sea turtles, mantas, dolphins, whale sharks etc. the coral reef barriers will present you with a rainbow colors of marine life that are found only in these parts of the world. The water sport equipment is part of the package and you can use the power dinghies to reach island shores and relax or walk along the white sanded beaches. You can return to the yacht the same way and have a lunch spread containing of steak, grilled chicken, fish, salads and chutneys, slaws, guacamole, chips etc. it will be a highly satisfactory trip and a one-off experience that you may or may not repeat. The boat will depart the island at 6PM and take the usual half or full hour to reach La Paz depending on the status of the tide.

I can tell you that 2023 is not the best year for me. Wanna know why? It's because :

I began this year having flu + fever

Typhus in the middle of the year (i was literally on bed rest for 10 days)

And now i'll end it with diarrhea

Like, diarrhea? Out of nowhere? WHY DO I GET DIARRHEA WHEN I DONT EVEN EAT ANYTHING THAT COULD CAUSE IT?

I swear i've been sick so much this past month alone. I got sick twice on December, everyone. TWICE. Ugh! I hate being sick. Why do i become sick so easily 😭😭

I dont know, is it only me or is it just a part of adulting lol But i feel like i'm getting weaker day by day both mentally and physically. Like, i was fine and full of joy 5 minutes ago, then suddenly got really exhausted and lack of motivation. This might be because i'm getting older, but i'm still on my 20's, i'm not that old tho.

Long story short, Me and my friends used to have regular schedule after work. We'd like to go to the beach, simply to watch the sun set or just hanging out at the cafe whenever we could finish our job early (let's say it's a self-reward for our hardwork lol). But now? WE'VE NEVER DONE THAT ANYMORE CAUSE WE'RE TOO TIRED TO JUST STOP BY.

For unimportant comparison, the nearest beaches we'd usually go are Petitenget, Kuta and Double Six. It only took 20-30 minutes from our workplace. And, we've been to some beaches at Jimbaran and Nusa Dua too (Dreamland, Gunung Payung, Balangan, Geger) which took us an 1hr++ from our workplace to be there. For us who works 9 hours (from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.) a day, taking an hour of scooter ride should be exhausting (if you know Bali with its heat and traffic), but surprisingly we still go anyway.

Even on July, we went hiking at Mt. Batur and know what time we hit the road? 12.30 A.M. After! Being! At! Work! All! Day! And we went there by scooter. It was a 2.30 hours of endless riding in the middle of the night. Not to mention the little accident where my scooter's back tyre suddenly punctured and we could barely find any repair shop at those hours (such a horrible night, if i must say). And we still go to work like usual on the next day.

I mean, WHERE'D THOSE SPIRIT GO? I used to have that "Semangat Masa Muda Yang Membara dan Menggebu-gebu" but now? Poofs, it was gone and nothing left. Gosh, i miss having that spirit of youth and the strong, wild and highly motivated me. This year is so bizarre for whatever reason tho!

bless my brain for realising that even though annoying, taken the earlier bus might be a good idea

initial reasoning was "what if the bus I want to take doesn't come and I'll have to wait 20 minutes for the next one", then I realised that the app had planned five minutes to change from bus to train which. is. unlikely.

and I did end up not getting the "early" train, so. well planned me

as reference:

exam starts 12.45 but we're advised to arrive 15 minutes early

original plan would've had me arrive at the bus stop at 12.14 or something

but I forgot there's a 10 to 12 minute walk up to the actual building

so, if everything had worked out as planned, I would've arrived around 12.30

now, figure I'd have missed the train and had to take the one 10 minutes later - not optimal

I took the bus 20 minutes earlier, even though that could have meant having to wait almost 40 minutes in the cold (heyyy more time to look at vocab again etc)

but since the bus was a little late, I didn't carch the train planned by the app, so I'm ten minutes late now

estimated arrival if I catch the next bus is 12.16

still half an hour early but better early than late

Alagar Kovil is a town in Madurai region in the South Indian territory of Tamil Nadu. The set of experiences and living of the town is revolved around #KallazhagarTemple Built in the #Dravidianstyleofengineering the sanctuary is celebrated in the Divya Prabandha, the early middle age Tamil standard of the #Azhwarholy people from the sixth ninth hundreds of years CE. Kallazhagar Temple covers an area of around 2 sections of land (0.81 hectares) and has a #fivelayeredgopuram (entryway tower). The sanctuary in encased in a rectangular nook with enormous rock dividers. The focal altar houses the picture of the managing god, #SundarabahuPerumal in standing stance. The pictures of Sridevi and Bhudevi are additionally housed in the sanctum. There two life size pictures of #Narasimha , the symbol of Vishnu. One of them is shown holding the devil Hiranya and other killing him.

The sanctuary houses some uncommon #Vijayanagaramodels like the ones present in #SoundararajaperumalTemple , #Thadikombu , #KrishnapuramVenkatachalapathy sanctuary, #SrivilliputhurDivyaDesam and #JalakandeswararTemple, Vellore.The sanctuary additionally has one of the exceptional divinities chakarat azhvar(Alvar) where the god with chakaram having 16 hands and 16 weapons is without Narasimha above him.

Chithirai celebration of this sanctuary celebrated for ten days is one of the pronounced celebrations of #TamilnaduGovernment. This celebration day is pronounced as Local Holiday. In #Chithirai (April-May), Lord Kallazhagar begins from Azhagar kovil as Kallar and arrives at Madurai on Pournami (Full Moon day). Here he ventures into waterway #Vaigai in his Horse Vaganam. Lakhs of aficionados run to stream Vaigai to witness this occasion. "Ethir Sevai" celebration is commended on the day preceding Alagar ventures into waterway Vaigai. It is a practice for individuals of Madurai to invite Alagar.

As Azhagar gets back from Vandiyur #Dhasavatharamcelebration is commended over the course of the night at #RamarayarMandapam in the Northern piece of stream Vaigai. After this occasion Azhagar is taken to #MysoreVeeraMandapam on embellished Anantharayar Palanquin. The following morning Azhagar as Kallar gets back to Azhagar kovil in 'Crap Pallakku'(Palanquin adorned with blossoms). Aficionados from various pieces of Tamilnadu crowd to partake in this celebration. The sanctuary vehicle '#Amaiththa Narayanan' is taken in parade during Pournami (Full-Moon day) of Aadi (Brahmotchavam).

In the period of April and may, every year the incomparable Chitra celebration is commended on Pournami (full moon day). The Festival emphatically re establishes the appearance of Lord Kallazhagar to Madurai from Azhagarkoil. Lakhs of lovers rush to waterway Vaigai to actually observe the occasion of ruler Azhagar venturing down into the stream and to get his gifts.

"SVU ever brings me a case like this again and you can find some other ADA to fight it" Rafael all but yelled at you and Liv as you walked into his office.

"Come on Rafael, it was air tight" Liv snapped back.

"Air tight? If this case was so air tight it wouldn't have ended in a not guilty. You both let your emotions get in the way and clouded your judgement. I am not putting my job on the line anymore" he snarled back

Liv threw her hands up and shock her head.

"You are out of line Rafi, that's not fair" you said back. He glared at you.

"What's not fair is me losing my job over this. That's not fair because you acted like the emotional little girl that you are"

Your eyes opened wide with shock. Rafael felt regret as soon as those words left his mouth but he couldn’t take them back now.

"Come on Rafael, that's not nice" Liv spoke back.

"You both need to get out, now" Liv turned and walked out, you stood there staring at him.

"Are you deaf as well now? Get out NOW" you turned on your heels walked out and slammed the door shut.

"Good luck with THAT this afternoon Carmen" she didn't know what to say and you left to catch up with Liv.

On your way back to the station in the car, it was silent. Rafael had never spoke to you like that before, ever. You felt so mad and you were trying to keep the tears from falling.

"Are you ok?" Liv asked as she turned off the car

"I will be, Thanks Liv" a small tight smile coming to your face.

You both walked into the bullpen to everyone at their desks. Their heads turned to look at you as soon as you walked through the doors.

"How did it go?" Fin asked leaning back in his car.

"Not guilty" you answered back

"No way" Nick threw his pen down on his desk.

"Ah yeah, Barba isn't happy with us at all" Liv sighed.

It was your day to go to your place to check on everything and get more cloths before going back to Rafael's. But after the way he spoke to you today, you decided to stay home and order in.

You hadn't heard from him so you didn't bother reaching out. You and Nick were working the night shift the next night so you didn't go to bed early, you stayed up to catch up on some shows you had recorded.

It was 12.30 am when your phone started to ring, it was Sonny,

"Hey Sonny everything ok?"

"Ah hey, no not really, Amanda is on her way to pick you up, she will be there in 5 minutes, meet her down stairs please"

"What's going on?"

“She will fill you in" and he hung up.

You jumped up, ran and changed your track pants to jeans, you left on the navy t shirt you had on, put on a strapless bra, tied your hair in a low lose pony, put on socks and runners. You put your phone in your back pocket, and your badge and key's in your front pocket grabbed your wallet and went down stairs. Just as you walked out on the street Amanda pulled up and you jumped in.

"What the hell is going on?" you looked over at her in the drivers seat.

"Sonny and I decided to have a drink after our midnight shift, we walked into Florini's and seen Barba at the bar. He has had a LOT to drink. He wouldn't leave with us, He just kept saying I'm not my father, so we called you"

"You should have left him there" you rolled your eyes looking forward to the road.

She looked at you funny raising one eye brow at you, so you told her what happened.

"I' am sure he didn't mean it" Amanda said softly.

"He meant it, don't you worry about that" you spat back.

Amanda managed to get a park outside the bar, and you got out and walked in with Amanda behind you. There weren't many people so you saw Sonny and Rafael sitting at the bar straight away. Sonny looked up and gave you a small half smile, he got off the bar stool and walked over to you and put his hand on your shoulder giving it a light squeeze,

"Go easy Y/N, he is really sorry"

"He's drunk, he doesn't know what he is"

You walked over to Rafael, he hadn’t notice you yet. The bar tender had just poured him another drink.

"Don't you think he's had enough? Can I have the bill please" he sculled down his drink not even looking at you.

"Give me your wallet" you snapped at him

He missed putting his hand in his pocket 3 times, then he got it and handed it to you. You pulled out his card and paid the tab. You grabbed his case and jacket and handed it to Amanda

"We are taking you home, let's go"

He still hadn’t spoken to you. Rafael stood up putting his arm around your shoulders, you put your arm around his waist and you walked him out to Amanda's car. Sonny opened the door and he got in, looking like Bambi on ice. You went around the other side and got in the car.

"Yours or His?" Amanda looked at you through the review mirror.

"His" You huffed back.

Before to long you were back at his place. Amanda and Sonny helped you take him upstairs. You took the keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. This was the most silent he had ever been.

"Thanks guys I got it from here. See you tomorrow" they both waved and left.

You lent him up against the wall just inside the door, you got on your knees and took his shoes off. He was so out of it you could control his body. You pulled him off the wall and walked him to the bed room and turned on the light. He stood in front of you still not saying a word. You undone his tie and took it off and then undone his vest and took that off too. You pulled his arm and led him to the bed, you pulled down the blankets and sat him down, and he laid down staring into space. You pulled the blankets up and turned to walk away, when he grabbed your hand.

"I'm not like my father"

You pulled your hand out of his, walked and turned the light off and shut the door. You slept on the couch.

Sleep was too far away all night. You messaged Carmen from your phone and told her Rafael would be in, in the afternoon, something came up. You didn't have to be at work till 4 that afternoon, so you tried and tried to fall asleep, but it wasn't happening. Finally at 5am you drifted off to sleep.

"Bang" you woke up with a fright, you sat up and looked around you and seen on the wall clock it was 9.30 am, you heard the water run so you turned towards the kitchen, there was Rafael looking like a mess, hair everywhere, still in the same cloths, having a drink of water.

You both didn't say anything. You sat up, folded up the blanket you used, put your shoes on and headed to the front door without a word. You had seen him awake, he was fine so you could leave.

"Wait, where are you going?"

"Home, your awake and fine I can leave now" he ran after you and grabbed your arm.

"No please don't go" you looked down at the floor. "Give me 10 minutes to shower, please. I have some explaining to do"

You pulled out of his grip and walked into the kitchen to make some toast and coffee for yourself while he had a shower.

You were sitting at the dining room table, with your coffee cup resting on your bottom lip looking into no where. You guys had been together for a while now, but this was the first really serious fight you guys had.

Rafael stood in the shower and let the water run over him and flashes of what happened came running back. Yes he was upset about the case, the DA wasn't happy, but he didn't cop it has much as he thought. But to say what he said to you, what a horrible thing to say. Age never mattered to you, and you always put people in their place when it was brought up. So why did he say that. He sounded like his father, and that's what drove him to drink that much. He couldn't have that, acting like his Dad, he prided himself to act the complete opposite. What he said would have pushed you away, he knew that. But he loved you way too much to let you go.

He walked out in a pair of dress pants and a white under shirt, his suspenders hanging down around him. He knew you messaged Camera, because when he woke up he had a message from her asking him what case files he needed when he came in that afternoon. He remembered you had over night that night, so he had time to try and make this better.

He seen you sitting at the table holding your coffee mug, with a tear rolling down your cheek.

"Please don't cry Hermosa" as he sat down on the chair opposite you. You wiped the tear away with the back of your hand.

"Say what you need to say, so I can go home" You looked down at the table

"I'm so sorry Mi Hermosa. I never should have said what I said. You’re not that at all, you’re an amazing person and I love you. And I'm sorry about last night. Treating you the way I did- I’m ashamed. I sounded like my father. I ran away and drank stupid instead of trying to fix it. I 'am not going to be like him"

You snapped your eyes off the table and looked at Rafael’s face, it was filled with sadness and his eyes were damp with tears.

"I didn't like what you said to me, I'm not some emotional little girl, I’ am a strong grown ass women. I understand you were mad, but if you’re going to start treating me like that and speaking to me like that after cases, I can't work with you anymore. I'll be off cases that involve you or we break up, we can't do both if it's going to be like this"

Tears ran down Rafael’s cheeks. He knew he over stepped.

"You are strong, one of the strongest I know. I love you and I love working with you. You’re an amazing detective, I don't want any of that to happen. I want to grow old with you"

"You can't walk around and say nasty things like that to me and not expect me to be upset or mad or react. You took your anger out on me in one of the nastiest way you could have. You knew saying that would push the right buttons, that's not you Rafi, you’re not that person"

You got up, walked into the kitchen and washed up your mug and plate so you could leave. You were washing up with tears running down your face and Rafael was sitting at the table with his head in his hands, his big tears landing on the table.

You finished quickly and headed to the front door, before you knew it Rafael grabbed you from behind wrapping his arms around your middle and pulled you into him, resting his head on your back.

"Please don't go" you could feel his wet face through your t shirt.

You spun around in his grip and faced him, his eyes were blood shot and filled with tears.

"I' am not my father"

"No you’re not. You are Rafael Barba, the most amazing ADA in Manhattan, if not New York. Your smart, kind, sassy, extremely sexy and have the best suspenders collection in the whole of the USA-"

You both giggled through your tears. You reached up to cup his face with both hands, rubbing your thumbs over his cheeks.

"And you’re my boyfriend. I love you Rafi. Couples fight and that's fine, but nasty things like that being said just to hurt the other person, we can't be doing that"

"I’ am so so sorry Hermosa, I never want to risk losing you. If I ever lost you I would be losing my soul mate, please forgive me?"

You pulled his face towards you and kissed him lightly on the lips. You could feel his tongue running along your bottom lip so you opened your mouth slightly and moved your head so he could deepen his kiss.

His hands were resting on your hips, he pushed you up against the wall. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him even closer. Rafael slid his hands up your shirt to your bra back and undone it, pulled it out and threw it on the floor, he grabbed the hem of your t shirt and pulled it up over your head. Only breaking the kiss when it slipped over your face. He landed back on your lips again, then started to kiss down your neck, you grabbed the hem of his under shirt and pulled it up over him.

He continued to kiss all over your neck and around your collar bone. He ran his hands down your sides to the waist of your jeans then around to the button and he undone it, he slid both of his hands down the back and grabbed your ass in each hand. You could feel him hardening up against you.

He pulled away and looked in yours eyes,

"I will love you as long as I live”

Okay. At least you are in a place where if sth would happen now, there are doctors around who can help right? I mean even if that lung specialist isnt there yet and all. Im so fidgeting all the time when nervous or stressed too and wouldnt have any nerve to read or what.. you must be really exhausted too after such a stressful night. I wish there was someone to hug and comfort you now. I was about to send you this virtual hug gif but ugh on anon its not possible to send gifs. So pls imagine that then. 💙

And hopefully you will know soon (in a few hours) what is up with your lungs but i guess until then try taking deep breaths and not think too much about all the possibilites? Cant help it now anyway and probably doesnt help to work yourself up even more i guess? I mean i hope i dont sound rude or anything, thats not my intention to tell you what to think or do or anything. its just what i used to tell myself whenever i was in a similar stressful situation and could basically only wait for doctors to eventually do their thing with diagnosing/treatment etc.

Are there other people around you? To me it always helped trying to distract myself with other people and wondering why they are there etc because they are moving and catch my attention a bit more easily than trying to distract myself with books. But that could also be just me 😅

Anyway i actually didnt intend to write you this entire novel, especially i dont want to bother or stress you with this. Feel free to answer or ignore. I just worry and wish you good luck 🙏💙

Hello, Anon 🖤 You are so sweet and I want to thank you for your kind words! They really helped. I ended up dozing for about four hours because they found something on my chest X-ray that they worried might be a blood clot in my lung. I was put on blood thinners/anti-inflams/something (I was sleepy and stressed but I have the documents somewhere) and they scheduled me for a 10 AM heavy duty lung test where I got to breathe in radioactive dust and get scanned for 30 minutes, but by the time they were able to do that (the people didn’t come in until 10, and I got the initial X-rays done at about 4 or 5 AM) whatever it was had cleared up.

Running theory is blood clot that cleared up due to the meds/care I got by the time the second test rolled around. I feel sore and awful and mentally just very beaten down. I had the ‘VID right before it hit the news in late January/early February 2020 (full-blown couldn’t breathe, couldn’t talk for two months, people were asking me if I had asthma because I would have attacks where I’d crumple over and gasp for breath and even drinking water hurt, and I’ve never had lung issues before that) and they said in the wake of the the pandemic they are seeing an uptick in young women with similar issues, and they said it’s a 50/50 thing so they were very glad I came in so that they could rule anything out.

SO. Yes. By the time they got the final test back (at around… 12.30?) there was nothing life-threatening. But it might have been a blood clot that cleared up (apparently that can happen and my nurse sister confirmed that).

I didn’t have anyone physically (besides the EMTs who were VERY nice and I spent a bunch of time talking with them for the first hour or two before I was put in a privately sectioned curtain room) but I did have my friends that I was texting who have. Really been my rocks tonight and I love them so much and I am so grateful because without them this would have been 🥺 A whole lot worse. A whole lot worse more stressful than it already was. They made a terrifying situation so much more bearable and I was able to put on a Podcast and put my phone up by my ear and sleep (strange… I never usually charge my phone before I go to bed but oddly yesterday I thought “oh… I should really charge my phone” and so by the time paramedics came it was charged enough to get me through 12 hours of being at emergency care) for a little bit.

I am home now (I’m a bit frazzled so I can’t remember if I mentioned that) and getting some rest. I have lots of bread and eggs and some frozen meals so munch on today and I will spend it on the couch probably watching Ink Master or something. But I did want to say thank you for your well-wishes, anon,,, your messages came at a point when I was definitely alone and feeling incredibly stressed and they helped a lot, even if I couldn’t respond to this one until now. Bless you truly and I hope you are very well 🖤
