Phases

Life with a significant other has its phases: the new relationship phase (so exciting), the honeymoon phase, making a home (getting settled), juggling career/relationship (so busy), settling into a rhythm (getting resettled), the kids grow up and leave (a new freedom)... the ebbs and flows of relationships as time goes on.

Life flows from one season right into the next without you even realizing it, or sometimes stops you in your tracks. When you or your s/o start a new job or lose a job, or you move to a new city for whatever reason, or you have kids, or deal with serious health issues, all of these things are disruptive. A new job or a new baby will move to the forefront of our attention and our relationship with our s/o hopefully enters the building and supporting each other phase. It can wear you out.

Sometimes the ebbs and flows do not go smoothly because we are all human. Throw in family dynamics, deeply embedded cultural and societal traits and norms, our weirdo personalities and that makes each of our experiences and how we cope individually unique.

But a strong relationship finds its way through the rough spots if two people are really committed to the relationship and to each other.

Growth, expansion, evolution... important in sustaining relationships because if we don’t change as time goes on, we have trouble adjusting to what is happening in our lives.

2022 was a year of disruption for BTS and the guys individually. We all felt it big time. But that doesn’t mean anything fell apart. Our normal was disrupted. Now growth is happening. Evolution and all those other deep thinking words.

When you think about the dynamic between Jungkook and Jimin, remember that JK is/was a little possessive of his Jiminie. He’s not letting him go, remember? Be jealous and all that...and Jimin has a heart as big as the universe and turns things around and around to see all sides of a matter.

So when we think about Jimin roaming the planet working with producers, artists and other idols here and there... we as fans feel some kind of way about it. Of course Kookie is going to feel some kind of way about it too.

Between them, their relationship has no other option now but to grow. What people are wanting to describe as “distant” is inaccurate. A better word would be to call it maturing. Maturity in your relationship is being ok with your partner freely pursuing their individual interests and friends.

We know JK is not the constant self-reflecting type but at some point in the future, our live-in-the-moment Bun Bun will realize he had some personal growth during this time. It’ll be good for him.

And our precious Jiminie will also realize he’s grown professionally and personally. I am so thrilled for him. And we have the privilege of watching this happen in real time.

And now they can watch and support each other doing things they’ve not had the chance to do yet... like when Jimin was watching Jungkook on that stage in Qatar, you know Jimin was beaming with pride.

Now we have a date for Jimin’s new solo career to launch with this collaboration with Taeyang. I promise you that JK is going to be paying close attention, just like us.

Y/N Y/LN's leaked music continues to give fans hints about her relationship status, completely against the artist's wishes (8/17/2022 3:27 PM PT)

Many listeners of the singer woke up to a great surprise this morning when an anonymous twitter account posted a link to one of Y/N Y/LN's unreleased songs.

For the past few months, fans have been speculating when the artist would release more music since having been in a rumored relationship with the proclaimed gotham elite, Jason Todd. The lyrics "Boys blowin' up my phone, They just ain't you" and "I'd give this pussy to you, nine-to-five, five-to-nine" give us a clear hint of what may be going on between the two, and fans were quick to catch on.

Much to the artist's dismay, however, the song’s chorus found it way over to tiktok with over 700,000 videos having used the audio already. Many users of the app have participated in a dance trend that has already seemed to be created.

Despite all the positive feedback directed towards the singer, Y/N was not hesitant to express her irritation for the invasion of privacy. After seeing the topic trending on twitter this morning, a post was made to her account stating:

@y/nforeal: Now who tf leaked my shit?? This why yall dont ever get any music outta me😐

After doing some digging, inside sources have come to the conclusion that Artemis Grace, singer and former girlfriend of Jason, played some part in unconsentually releasing the song. Even though the two artists work under the same record label, Artemis wouldn’t do something this crazy, right?

But to nobody’s surprise, it seems that the vengeful ex has a long history of being senseless. Jason has stated in the past that the main reason he ended things with her was because she liked to have constant "control" over him. In an interview last year, he made it very clear how unhappy he was with Artemis, saying:

"She was known for taking extreme measures to make sure I stayed tied down to her. I don't really wanna get into it, but she's always had an obsession with being in the star of things, and our relationship was no exception."

While both Todd and Y/LN have yet to clear the air regarding their rumored love affair, sources still firmly believe that something is going on between them to have inspired such a song. Still, whether they wanna admit it or not, they really are super cute together. ;)

you come out of suna’s bathroom after changing into your indoor clothes and his brain almost short circuits at the sight of you. you come out wearing a loose flannel that’s way too big for you with only one button closed in the middle with your sleeves rolled up and grey shorts. his face heats up a bit and doesn’t realize he’s staring until clap your hands in front of his face.

“oi rin! did my beauty turn you into stone?” you quip with a giggle.

“you wish. button up more or you’ll catch a cold,” he retorts.

“but it’s still summer! and i feel so comfortable right- hey!” you pout as suna stands in front of you closing most of the buttons on your shirt. when he’s satisfied with his work, he pulls you towards him by your shirt to give you a quick kiss.

“you’re gonna drive me insane. where did you get this shirt anyways? it’s so big even i could wear it,” he asks.

suna thinks he knows what most of your clothes look like, but this seems to be a new piece to your collection. his mind shoots him with the intrusive thought that it was from another guy, but he quickly dismisses the thought because he has seen you in oversized clothing before. you have a huge green flannel in your closet similar to the one you’re wearing now. there’s no way this shirt could ever be from an ex or someone you’re cheating on him with.

right?

are you that bold to wear something like that around him? suna isn’t sure why he’s starting to doubt you. you both love each other very much. he feels very secure in this relationship, but for some reason, he can’t shake the possibility from his mind.

“i found it while i was shopping at forever 21. it was just randomly sitting on a rack and i thought it was totally my style so i bought it.” you reply.

you didn’t show any signs of hesitation while answering him and suna can tell when you’re lying. you’re so god awful at it he would spot it in the blink of an eye. he flushes the intrusive thought out until you speak up again.

“now that you mention it, this might fit you perfectly! try this on, i wanna see you in it,” you urge.

“ah i dont think it will fit, sweetheart. besides, this isn’t my style,” he objects.

“no! you’re trying it on right now. i’ll be right back,” you say and disappear into the bathroom again before he has the chance to argue back.

you come out in a t-shirt while holding the shirt in your hand. you push the shirt into suna’s arms and force him into the bathroom.

your boyfriend shakes his head at your shenanigans, but he is grateful because now is the perfect time for him to put the intrusive thought to rest. he puts the shirt on and when he’s buttoning it, he begins to feel uneasy. the way he buttons this shirt is exactly how he buttons his dress shirts for press conferences. suna examines the shirt closely and his suspicions are confirmed. this is a men’s shirt. the buttons are on the right. buttoned shirts for women are always on the left. he knows this fact because he had to wear his mom’s dress shirt for a high school banquet one time because he stained his the day before.

suna tries not to jump to conclusions because he trusts you. he didn’t sense any hint of deceptiveness in your reply to him. he tries to calm himself down before walking out of the room in the shirt.

“babe, you know this is a men’s shirt, right?” he asks stepping out of the room.

“really? how can you tell? i remember picking it up in the women’s section,” you questioned.

“for men’s shirts, buttons are on the right. buttons are on the left for women’s shirts,” your boyfriend explains.

“oh my god! so that’s why it felt so weird to button up the shirt! i thought maybe it was just a style thing. that makes much more sense!” you exclaim.

your reaction seems genuine and he feels bad for doubting you, even if it’s just for a second. you love him so much, how could you ever cheat on him?

“yeah. if i didn’t know any better i would’ve thought this came from another guy,” he joked.

“rin, don’t tell me got jealous over a shirt.”

“i’m not!” he disputed, but his voice gave him away.

“sure, the high pitch tone in your voice is telling. did you really think this belonged to another guy? you’re so funny. i love you and only you,” you go over and stand on your tippy toes to give him a peck on his cheek.

“i just don’t wanna lose you to anyone,” he mumbled while pulling you into his arms.

you manage to catch what he said and smile. you admire every feature on his face while playing with his hair. you’re lucky to have him. then, a thought pops into your head.

“rin, how did you know the difference between the dress shirts?”

“i’m leaving,” he pulls away and vanishes into the bedroom.

“hey! come back!” you yell chasing after him.

you couldn’t waterboard that story out of him.

Beauty and the Beast

The Captain was feared by many. From his current homeland of Snezhnaya to the far edges of Teyvat, he was known to be a menace on the battlefield. Mysterious, never revealing his face or true identity and never leaving any traces that could have you guessing at who the man was behind the mask truly was. If there were more witnesses to his missions aside from the loyal Fatui soldiers, the Captain mused he surely would have become some sort of boogeyman by now; a story to tell your children to make sure they don't just go running off on their own or; considering the creative liberties some of their parents might take making up stories about the fearsome warrior; dont leave the house at all for at least three weeks.

Everyone was always wary of the Captain. They kept their distance from him unless they were called closer. After all, wasn't it better to be safe than sorry? Granted, a lot of the commonfolk would fear the harbingers given their position in the Tsaritsa's court. But even among those who were regarded as brave by their peers, few would be mad enough to willingly get closer to any of the high-ranking ones. Such was the path fate seemed to have laid out for Capitano and he was sure that he was meant to walk it alone. To do his duty, follow his principles; even when others were quick to disregard them and believe the tall man had no such thing as values or a sense of kindness in his heart.

It was easy to brush off the unknown and the powerful as monsters and killing machines. It was a familiar response to that which people struggled to grasp, even when Capitano handed out soup for all his subordinates in the cold dead of winter nights, when they had been sent on a mission. Even when he sent the injured home rather than using them as cannon fodder on the battlefield. Even when some of the Fatui soldiers walked by to see Capitano tend to the palace garden, trying to give some life back to the soils of Teyvat after all the deaths that had occured in the wars and conflict he led his subordinates into. One could always find an explanation for his behavior without having to jump to the conclusion that the Captain was capable of caring and nurturing life other than his own.

And then there was you. You, who caught him off-guard by simply approaching him as if he was just one of the many souls you met in your day-to-day life. You showed no sign of fear towards him. He'd have brushed you off as naive if he didn't know better. But then again, what was so bad about giving a chance to someone like him?

Capitano always tried to appear less intimidating when he was around you; scared of losing something he never even noticed he was lacking. Kindness and attention from another. Someone who genuinely wanted to get to know him. And so, how could he not indulge you? Over the passing of days and months you learnt many things about him he hadn't shown to anyone in a long time. Maybe he would have, if someone had only dared to ask.

You learnt that he liked taking care of Zapolyarny Palace's vibrant garden a little once in a while; although he admitted that sometimes he messed up and destroyed some of the flowers on accident because of his sheer physical strength.

You learnt that he liked collecting trinkets from his travels; the walls of his room being ornated with several ships in bottles, ancient maps, trophies and photographs of places he had been to. Death seemed to follow a man like Capitano like a shadow at his heels; his shoes seemed to be made to pound the pavement and trample everything in their wake. The objects he brought home with him reminded him that life was also all around him. That almost every place he went to had been touched by humans and their unwavering curiosity and relentlessness. He quite enjoyed telling some of the stories behind them to you. Relaying what he had learnt and observed about civilization to someone he hoped considered him a kindred soul.

You learnt that he made some crafts in his freetime and enjoyed reading biographies of famous travelers.

You learnt that behind that mask; behind his power and status, Capitano was just a man. From the first time you saw him, Capitano felt like that was the only thing you ever looked at. The man behind the mask. Like you beckoned him to come closer and tell you his story; to rest his weary bones from battle and enjoy the moments you were able to spend together.

Ever since he became a harbinger, Capitano had never seen much reason to take off his mask in the presence of another person. For what were they to see, but another face of evil?

Besides, it protected his identity and gave him an additional aura of authority; not that he particularly needed it.

But when he took that mask off before you for the first time; when he showed you the raw emotion his face never had to hide for as long as he was wearing his helmet; showed you the battle scars that lined his features and the face so many had theorized about and feared despite never having caught a glimpse of it; all you did was call him beautiful. Accepted him as he was and affirmed to him that you liked what you saw.

When you cupped his face for the first time; the first touch he had received like that in many, many years; Capitano melted into your touch as if you were his salvation.

Now, after years of fighting and wandering the earth, he had finally arrived at a place he could call home.

He chuckled at how you handled him as if he was the one needing protection.

It's something different, he mused, I needed something different.

He readily accepted your love and affection with open arms; from the featherlight kisses you blessed his face with to the way you'd cherish the flowers he had grown himself in the garden and the stories he told you about the world.

Now, even in his hardest battles, death was nothing but a distant voice; for life resided in the heart you had given him to protect and he was reminded of you a little by almost everything around him. Of the nights you spent resting in his arms, the evenings you had danced with him through the empty ballrooms of the castle; teasing him with a reminder to not step on your feet; and of the taste of your lips.

One day, he knew, he'd bring a ring home to you to ask him to stay by his side forever.

"Thank you", he told you as he pressed a warm, soft kiss to your cheek, "for not seeing me as a monster. For taking the time and patience to get to know me. For loving me as I am, just as lost as anyone, really." And you had taken his hand and sworn that you would always love him. Even in this ever-changing world, when the sun has set and risen again a million times, the storms had raged across the land and the sky had shifted; still your love lived on.

A/N: omll thank y'all for the all the likes and reblogs on part I, you guys are just too kind <3 this fic includes an o/c for narrative purposes so i apologies if you dont like that, but it fits what i'm attempting to go for with both yandere! ethan and reader, and i also changed it so ethan is not a virgin <3

I also hope the brief phone call makes sense ;-;

“Where. The. Fuck. Are. You” You cried out between stomps, you had searched everywhere and it was nowhere. Your laptop blinked red, ‘Low Battery’ it had written across the dim screen. Defeated and tired you sat on the edge of your bed, chewing the half eaten muffin Chad had so graciously given to you after he realised he didn’t want it.

Then it hit you; Chad had your laptop charger. Peaking your head at the clock above your doorframe, you decided quarter to eight wasn’t too late to call Chad, he should be home.

You picked up your phone and searched for his name, pressing it and impatiently waiting for him to pick up.

“Yo”

“Hey you have got my laptop charger on you?”

“Ah it's at my place still.”

“Can I swing by and grab it?”

“I’m not there right now but I can bring it tomorrow morning?”

“Uh maybe- is Ethan there?”

“Nah, think he’s at the study hall or somethin”

You frustratingly groaned “Ah shit, nah, I need it now.”

“Don’t you have that spare key to my dorm still?”

“Oh yeah, I think I do somewhere. You mind if I go there real quick?”

“Yeah go ahead. It’s in my room.”

“Ight thanks, ceeya Chad”

“Ba-bye”

After a brisk walk to the boys dorm, you unlocked the front door. Inside was warm, and to your amazement, clean. Who knew two boys living alone could be so tidy.

You knew where Chads room was, so you had no issue navigating the way, but as you continued down the narrow hallway, you saw where Ethan’s room was. The door was cracked open slightly, and was practically inviting you in. You knew this was wrong, but what he didn’t know couldn’t hurt him.

You pushed the door open gently, blindly searching for the light switch with your palm and fingers. You flicked the light on and scoured the room.

Ethan was neat. He was tidy. He was organised. His bed was perfectly made, the pillows propped up and a navy fleece blanket thrown on the end. His desk was kept orderly as well, pens, pencils, sticky notes and notebook sat all adjacent to each other and the empty spot where his laptop must sit each night. As well as a small clock and fidget toys that piled together on the corner of the desk. His wardrobe was neat too, his clothes all organised by their types: t-shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, the list goes on.

And with a fit of impulsion and obsession, you pulled a handful of his hanging clothes to your face. The clothes smelt just like Ethan. They lingered with the smell of his cologne, one that made your knees weak, and they smelt sweet too, like a vanilla of sorts. Your mind became flooded with thoughts of Ethan. Just being here, in his room, shamefully going through his belongings gave you a rush.

You let go of his clothes, straightening them up before closing the wardrobe. You were getting distracted. But as you went to close the wardrobe, the light reflected on a smudged glassy surface. Curious, you pulled it out, only to find a photo frame containing Ethan with his arm around some unknown girl. Both of them had a sheepish grin on their faces. Your heart sank. Who the fuck is this? Your mind jumped to comforting conclusions, maybe it was his cousin, or better yet maybe it was his sister. Or maybe it was his girlfriend. You flipped the frame around, reading the scrawled letters on the back, ‘Ethan & Lydia M 2023’

You were enraged. You slammed the wardrobe shut, hands balling into fists, your nails digging into your palmy flesh.

Without warning, the door opened.

“What are you doing?” Ethan questioned, he sounded more shocked than angry.

“Oh my gosh, I’m sorry, I was just looking for um- my laptop charger. I couldn’t find it in Chads room, and- and I thought maybe it was in here” You choked out, your cheeks flushed a bright pink. Holy fuck. That was close.

“You think it would be in here? If I wanted to use your charger Y/N, I would of asked.” Ethan’s voice was firm and deep, but moments after he spoke, a gentle smirk curled on the corner of his lips.

“I- I know I’m sorry. I should of asked.” You stuttered

“It’s fine, I’m only playing around.” Ethan said before placing his backpack beside the doorway, and sitting on the edge of his bed.

“So uh- how was study hall?” You asked, trying to veer from the awkward greeting mere seconds ago

“Study hall huh? You a stalker or something? First you come to my place, probably going through my shit then you know where I am? Is that why you came here, cause you’d know I’d be out?”

“Fuc- no - Chad told me. I asked if you’d be here and he told me” You gasped out.

“Y/N relax I know. I’m joking, chill”

You sighed, you couldn’t stop thinking about how if he walked in seconds before he did, he would of caught you sniffing his clothes like some creep, and going through his stuff. Maybe he was right, maybe you were sorta a stalker.

“But to answer your question, study was okay. Stalker” He quipped, a cheeky smile on his face.

“Fine. Maybe I am a stalker, maybe I stalk you and everything you do Ethan.” You joked back.

You laughed. The two of you just clicked, he made a joke, you bounced back with another. It made your insides feel fuzzy and warm.

dutch van der linde thoughts and feelings and the human condition,,,

like. i think that dutch being a good guy who is capable of compassion and kindness can like. coexist with his skewed view of the world and his place in it. hes just as capable of saving and cradling those less fortunate than him as much as he is at using them for his own gain.

and like. the facade to me. is more in his psyche than anything else

its a mask of strength and intelligence for his own sake

and his relationship with molly is meant to show you how negligent and mean he can get. it also shows you that hes insecure and lashes out whenever somebody tries to help him

he doesnt like being wrong or being ridiculed in any sense because it reflects back on what i think he feels he is at his core. a nobody. a two bit outlaw. and when thats pointed out he gets defensive

i want to be able to explain that yes. he wants to help people and he wants a better world but that wanting has become twisted over the years and now that hes backed into a corner that thought becomes second place (and micah encourages this) and hes willing to throw people under the bus

he thinks everyones out to get him and that he can only trust himself

i also think that stems from the fact that hes so scared of everyone leaving him or everything going wrong that hes come to the conclusion that nobodies really sticking around for him

and i think this can also exist at the same time as his moment of narcissim cus. thats how mood swings and especially bpd (whether or not he has it) is like. part of him being all over the place is because of this

he can be a kind man while also being a hypocrite of all sorts. the human condition allows this

his words and his actions do not always match up for good and for bad

and i think thats like. the core of it all is that hes meant to show a part of the human condition which allows for so many possibilities and shows how these choices can go beyond what you think or what you feel. dutch was going to get backed into a corner no matter what happened. but he jumped the gun and assumed (in actions rather than words) that he was already doomed and acted accordingly. throwing people under th bus and assuming that he had been duped

he was so caught up in looking for the problem he couldnt see it righth in front of him

because by his perception why would someone manipulating him be kind to him?? why would they encourage him and soothe his fears and inflate his ego?

also him and molyy are such like. a good relationship. writing wise. obviously in game they are terrible for one another but

molly and dutch are similiar to me. in a psychological way. they are easily consumed by the idea of love and being wanted but. molly isnt a conman or a killer like dutch is. and i feel like molly doesnt hide behind the mask as much as dutch does. i think its still there for her. but to a lesser extent. mollys kind and caring nature always struck me as being given much more freely than dutch's. and in such a way it feels more genuine. whereas dutch has the intention but must make it flowery and grand even though hes capable of the smaller goods

ansd the tragedy of the both of them is that all molly wanted to do was help him

she loved him. i dont think dutch loved her the same. dutchs love was quick and dependent completely on how he felt at the moment. dutchs mode was survival and her comfort or him caring for her wasnt top of his priority. i dont think he loved her in the way molly loved him

molly thought she had found true love in him. dutch wanted someone to woo. someone to care about him for the brief amount of time. it was fleeting. and conditional

also dutchs whole deal with the wapiti tribe is the real killer for him morally. the whole point of helping them was to prove a point. and not for the tribes benefit but for himself

sure it was a "distraction" but he gave no plan for it afterwards. he wanted the rush of it. he was hurt and scared and therefore angry. he recognized eagle flies righteous anger and eagerly encouraged him into a death trap and when eagle flies dies. he backtracks. says that it was all according to plan. at that point he's grasping at strings. he's chewing off his own leg to escape the trap and that leg is all he is as a person

he's casting off the ideals and the dreams because he has convinced himself they are obsolete. he has nothing left to lose and to him nobody wants him anymore. and he's violently bitter about it. the way hes so shocked that micah was duping him. the vulnerability of his ignorance in that moment. the realization of his failure in that moment was destroying for him. he did all that for nothing. threw away everything he had known and tied himself into a knot trying to escape the trap he was led into. and then he was forced to reckon with the only leg he has left and the fact that he's bleeding out

but even more fascinating is how adamant he is that he was betrayed. admitting to his failure is too much for him. it would make everything they ever said about him true and he can't handle that. but also the way he runs back to micah for revenge. he cannot let go no matter what. he drags the trap along with him in a spiral of bitterness that quite literally lasts until his dying day

he kills micah for himself. to soothe the failure of killing his son

and then he goes on to create a new gang. with the people he admires. people who are full of righteous anger. it feels as if he's attempting to relive his life through all of this. this time he's not going to fail. this time he won't take any chances

dutch's greatest malady is that he cannot let go. but he also cannot look

he cannot obtain his redemption because he can't face down nor let go of what he's done

he's stuck in limbo fighting for the sake of figthing

he says it himself. all he's ever done is fight and he continues to no matter what. in the littlest of ways like snapping at the hand that wants to help him to killing men by the droves to slay the unseen enemy thats in his mind

it all circles back to the vicious cycle that red dead redemption is meant to be

it's meant to be a cautionary tale. and dutch is the prime example. he doesn't want to look at he what he's done but nonetheless cannot let go

even if he never wanted to continue the cycle he continues it anyways through never facing it

and he would rather throw himself from a cliff rather than seeing it. dutch was tired of fighting. but he never stopped running

Okay, rolans solo session is done! Not much to say tbh because i hadnt forgotten much, but! Here are a few things

Okay where did i decide that rolan had strict parents. Like i guess i looked at him being slightly more responsible and having a somewhat strained relationship with them and came to that conclusion? Or the mentions of him like sneaking out of the house as a teen? I dont know? Its not like something i saw in a fic and just took to myself because i thought that while still listening to the series so before i could have been affected by any non canon material. I dont know. Welp whatever im sticking with it! In my heart kian’s parents were neglectful as shit, rand’s mom is great and dad is. Eh. And rolan’s parents were strict and pretty religious even for their time. Okay cool

I really want to know what rolan’s strength is. Like condi said it was high, but. Thats all i have for now. Is it higher than rand’s? Maybe. Dont know. Anyways yes prepare to read kian being carried by rolan (and probably at some point rand) in a later fic yes this is wish fulfillment through the character i relate to

So many subtle foreshadowing things about rolan being a bug… “you wouldnt be one of them” “promise me youll be our rolan” etc… just. Amazing job charlie slimecicle

Okay very quick point that i feel i need to make. Rolan. After being in a car crash. And having his arm get broken. After a single night at the hospital and some first aid by rand was at the same amount of hp as kian’s max. Like holy shit thats terrifying to think about why is kian so fragile

Where did the idea of rolan doing track come from? Like at this point ive just accepted it fanon is fun but like. I. I need to know. Did just one person mix up track and long jumping at some point and everyone else just went with it??? I didnt listen to bitb yet when it first came out i dont know Edit: apparently if you do long jumping you just typically also do track, i have learnt new things! Im not a sports person unsurprisingly lol

Its so fucking funny to me that like at the same time story wise Rolan is encountering and surviving an entire hoard of the creatures while getting very valuable information, Rand is almost dying in a swamp from looking at the sky too hard, and Kian is literally dying from being a simp. Beautiful.

Sometimes a bit too much shaky cam ?

In some parts they dont care about the canon at all. For example, Constance is just single, and there's nothing close to a relantionship between d'artagnan and Milady. I'm personally fine with it (mostly thanks to bbc musketeers) but i know some people will be put off by that.

It's part 1 of 2 movies; even tho they managed to do one complete movie (whith high stakes and a satisfying resolution), they have to set up part 2 so it does end on a kind of cliffhanger

I wish there was more swordsfights :c

Pros :

The swordfights that were here were EXCELLENT. The big one at the beggining ("We're 3 against 20 !"/"No, we're 4 !") is basically ONLY one shot, of several minutes people jumping and swordfighting ??? It was AWESOME

As I say, the movie is complete even without part 2 (and the maybe 10 last minutes), which i think is quite impressive

D'Artagnan is a puppy <3 proud and ready to fight the world, little gascon boy

The romance in this movie is genuinly very good. The men are so in love. Poetry and ache.

The dialogue (especially in the first half) is sooo satisfying. It's quick and witty and sarcastic, i love it.

They made one change with Porthos; well, more like made something canon that i thought was only implied in the book about his character. No spoil, but i reaaally liked it. I hope he gets more screentime

There is one scene with Aramis that is just... 👌 chef kiss. Duris will never be Santiago Cabrera, but the scene where he needs to get infos from a guy ? 👀

They got hats they got swords they got cape they got wordplay, I was satisfied

Btw costumes ? Very cool

And the locations too

(Also the king is autistic, he's me, i love how he talks, it's very fun)

Conclusion : a fine adaptation, not the funniest nor the most faithful but I enjoyed it a lot. However it's only the 1rst part of a 2 parts film so I will wait for part 2 (out in december) to know if the film overall achieves its goals !

i talk about how much i love vanessa/vanny to my sister and complain about how people don’t like her and then can never give reasons for why they don’t like her other than “she’s boring”/“she doesn’t show up enough” and my sister was like “well people dont usually think into the lives of character aside from how they show up on screen” WHAT DO YOU MEAN. HOW DOES ANYONE ENJOY CHARACTERS IF THEY DONT THINK ABOUT HOW THEY JUST EXIST.

vanessa is more than just her appearancein security breach. and EVEN THEN, we get to see her snark a robot, we get to see a room where vanny/vanessa has been supposedly living in in the plex, we get to see princess quest.

like okay yeah she didnt get a ton of screen time. bite me. have you considered actually thinking abt the character for longer than three seconds.

what about the emails! what about the help wanted dialogue! what about the fact that she GOT HER OWN MIND TAKEN OVER AND HOW THAT AFFECTED HER.

i just! i mean i certainly think about the characters more intently than the average fan (fnaf is my special interest, lol) but the implication that people want their characters spelled out for them is so??? do they really?? would people have really preferred that??

dont get me wrong, there are a lot of things that i wouldve loved to have improved upon in security breach. but i kind of feel like vanny and vanessa get an amount of hate thats just kind of overkill? like okay yeah she couldve had more screen time. and.. well, what else? i literally cant think of anything else? shes slow? shes not afton?? idk???

(my personal biggest complaint “about” vanny is that one of the coolest endings - and the only one with a cinematic cutscene - showed fuck all of her. i dont even mind burntrap/deathtrap that much but my girl shouldve been there!!)

dont even know where to begin with cassie and gregory. the hate of gregory is ridiculous (He Is Twelve). i actually have fortunately not seen anything like what you said about cassie, but she deserves to be the protagonist (or antagonist!!) for upcoming games.

what I find funny when looking at your long post about popularity and writing is that the writers who probably consider themselves popular did not like or interact with it 🤡

I'll be blunt and say that I can't fault certain people for interacting or not interacting. This is something I keep in mind with a lot of posts regardless of the content matter:

-> Timezones exist. I may post at 10pm my time, but for a lot of people it could be very early in the morning for their timezone. Like 5am for them when its normal hours my time.

-> depending on how many people you follow, posts can easily be eaten away on your dash. I'll be blunt and say I check my notes/messages way more than I view my dashboard. Im not actually actively on tumblr often outside of quick checks so I myself miss a lot.

-> they may agree but are afraid it could lead into arguments with people they interact with on a normal basis (a warning sign for me for my friendships personally but keeping the peace is important sometimes depending on the issue)

-> and...very important to take into account...i have a good number of people on my blocklist... if I have them blocked, tumblr has now made it to where they cannot reblog any posts where I am an OP at all, or like them. So *coughs* thats also a huge factor. That may be a reason some can't reblog even if they agree. (Though if I have them blocked its likely due to reasons I complained about or. Homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc, or. I just. Dont like them. Human nature to just not like people sometimes) dont anyone start theories on who i do or dont have blocked please

Theres more reasons that are possible but. Like. Idk. Lets not jump TOO hard to conclusions when there can be very innocent explanations. Or i have them blocked.

Anon here again, because I think my message got taken a little wrong, and I never wanted that to happen. I just wanted to point out something that I, a black person with a large nose, had personally seen and been affected by.

Not once did I ever bring up Scar being Jewish... so I'm a little confused as to where that came from. Racist caricatures of people with big noses is not something only associated with Jewish people, as I hope the other asker knows. I'm a little upset that my ask was taken as mean or cruel, given I was simply pointing out something that has affected me as well as others in my community.

Which is why I brought it up. Because I belong to a community of people who have been harmed by these stereotypes. The asker has mentioned that they are white and raised Christian (which, once again, I'm very confused as to how religion has come into play. I never once brought up being Jewish) and it makes me a little upset that our voices are being spoken over yet again by people online who wish to "white knight" for their favorite artists.

I'm very sorry that my ask was taken to be sent in such an angry tone, because I never meant it like that. You genuinely were one of my favorite artists, and I still do enjoy your art!

I just wish people weren't so quick to jump to "attacking without reason" as I believe you even mentioned yourself that I and that other anonymous asker had valid points, which I very much appreciate! It's truly a sign of maturity to be able to look at criticism and say "yeah, I can see that, I'm sorry".

i never took your ask as aggressive, but i kinda do struggle to see why a white man being drawn with a bigger nose would be racist? i think i would understand if scar was a person of color, but then again, im white, maybe im just really blind to this. i feel like i cant really speak on this because i just dont know enough about this.

i think the jewish thing came from the fact that, like i just mentioned, scar isnt black so that would probably be the most logical conclusion for some people.

and i saw the post, the user themself made a new post trying to apologize for users taking their first post the wrong way and justifying sending death threats to the people mentioned in their post, even those who've been involved and done nothing wrong, i dont understand why people are so quick to attack all the time, just please take a moment to weigh your decisions before outright commiting to them and announcing them publicly

hi yes i have been summoned! i've followed her for a while now, so i may be able to fill some gaps on the info for anyone who would like to know!

she's 21 and a law student, and also friends with a few f3/2 drivers because if i remember correctly she was neighbors with zak o'sullivan and have been friends since they were kids. i'm not sure if she's still dating franco, but they were dating around his win in the british gp since she made a couple of tiktoks wearing his podium cap after he left gb.

he stopped liking her posts around her birthday (early september), which was weird because he was pretty active on her account, usually commenting on every post. this led to the breakup allegations which seem to be true. he still follows her tho and so does ollie + a few more drivers.

now personally i think its too early to jump to conclusions just because of an alleged insta story, but PLEASEEEE dont be mean to this girl just because she might be dating ollie bearman. we do NOT. need another charles situation. as far as we know this girl did nothing wrong and just happens to live a life where meeting drivers is commonplace.
