happy disability pride month to those with degenerative/progressive disabilites:

-Those who know what their disability is and why its getting worse

-Those whos disability hasnt been diagnosed yet but the symptoms and degenerative nature of their illness is still taking effect

-and those who have to watch their bodies steadily decline while their healthcare professionals refuse to treat them (for no fault of their own)

-to the ones who are told they are too young to have their body declining

-'too young' to be using their mobility aids, or seeing certain specialists, or who notice they're the youngest patients in certain clinics by years if not decades

You deserve to be seen, and heard, and supported; You deserve kindness and respect and to be taken seriously about your medical concerns and the nature of your disability/ies

having a degenerative disease can be really fucking scary, I wish that tomorrow is kinder than today was.

Thinking about the complexities of a "losing your magic" story in a DnD (and similar) scenerio because what it means completly depends of your class. Because while not everyone is born with magic, everyone can have it.

How for a sorcerer losing their magic is genuinally about losing a part of themselfs, to suddently not being able to do something they always did. Losing your magic is like sudently losing a limb or one of your senses. And how besides being always theirs, their magic is ancestral how it can mean losing a connection with a part of their family history.

How for paladins is about morals. About breaking their vows whatever they are, dealing with the fact that they changed or maybe that morals were always way more complicated than they thought they were. (The Oathbreaker subclass changes things but I think it can work if Oathbreaker is one of the ways to embrace the emotional conflict that took your magic). Is almost phylosofical. Is the what makes Thor worthy?

How for druids, clerics and warlocks are different levels of losing a connection. For druids is with nature, with a force beyond their comprehension but that became a part of you for so long and who are you without this feeling? For warlocks is so many things, is losing a boss, a friend, is the price of freedom, is the loss of whatever you had with the sentient being that gave you powers. And for clerics is a mix, is about if their gods are feelings like nature or beings that talk to them, but whatever it is, for clerics, for clerics is a lack of faith. Is about what happens when you doubt your god, when you can't belive it or in it. Is also about what happens when your god doesn't belive in you.

For bards and mages is the loss of a skill. The bards might have the loss of their playing or voice but even if not, even if is just the magic that is gone, well they, just like the mages, studied hard to be abble to do magic. If for a sorcerer is like losing a limb, for them is like waking up in the morning and noticing your accent changed or that you don't speak a language you once did anymore, is trying to ride the same bicycle you used to go to work everyday and noticing you just doesn't know how.

my arm hurts so badly these days. it’s the same joints on my left arm, constantly aching, ranging from an easily ignorable 1/10 to a very concerning 6/10. overall its worse than it was even a month ago. it won’t be any time soon, but one day, i will be too sick to draw. and after that, there will come a day when i’m too sick to do anything i love. and i’m scared. i don’t want to get sicker, i’m still just a kid

Grateful for the people coming to help me out today!

A couple of friends are coming by to help me clean and my mom's friend came by and is going to do all my laundry that backed up, so I'm freaking happy about that.

I gotta figure out a way to keep things clean, so they don't get this bad again, though. Trouble (my bf) and I were brainstorming last night about things that could make life more accessible for me:

-a couple of Roombas (one for vacuum one for mop)

-an Echo connected to a smart-home someday

-someone to cook a huge meal once a week that I can freeze and heat up

-someone to do a load of laundry once a week

-someone to occasionally do dishes or take out the trash every so often, so it cuts down on how many times I have to

-a shower chair

-an outdoor wheelchair for events where there is a lot of standing/walking

-a rollator or a walker of some kind to help me on bad days

-I need to create a capsule wardrobe so I can cut down on the amount of choices I have to make on a daily basis

-getting rid of all the junk I don't use

-a mini fridge/freezer and a microwave for my room

So far that's all I can think of... Anything else that has helped you that I could potentially add to the list?

E: What is their love language?

Gaius' love language is dedicated to deeds and validation. Despite his hard-to-read attitude and how generally difficult to approach he can appear, he pays close attention to those around him, and their likes and dislikes. If he can help, if he wants to lift their spirits, if he wants to please them, he'll do something to try to help them out. In return, praise and validation make him glow.

G: What’s their greatest talent?

I think, despite how plainly he views himself, I think Gaius is a general repository of various skills. While he has no particular engineering talents, I'd consider him to be a jack of all trades in most practical situations.

For Sigmund

C: What’s their weirdest habit or quirk?

Because of his chronic illness, Sig's legs often experienced a difficulty in feeling sensations; he'd thump his legs against the ground to help and ensure he was feeling things. Imagine something like a rabbit or hare thumping the ground.

Prior to becoming Vlast's champion, he wore body armor (basically the royal guard outfit), and he often still had to jostle that around to ensure everything was working properly. Post becoming Vlast's champion, he still does it out of habit, even though he's much stronger.

D: What was their high school experience like?

Sigmund was bullied immensely, often violently, because of his disabilities, and was sent to the farms out around Smokestead. This, with Oberon's frequent visits and tutelage, allowed him to create the armor he used for mobility. Despite the isolation, he enjoyed the privacy, as well as being able to interact with the animals.

K: What is their greatest strength?

Because of his disability, and the impact it's had on his life and upbringing (both socially and emotionally) Sigmund is literally incapable of tackling most problems in the same way most charr would--this results in him being a rather ingenious soldier, not only in the formation of plans, but also in what he's willing to do in order to accomplish his goals or ensure his survival.
