FORGIVE MY SEELIE!

synopsis: your seelie gets your crush's attention for you!

JEAN

Your seelie was just rolling around in the flower beds while waiting for you to finish up groceries. It was content with just minding its own business, when a familiar voice piqued its interest, causing it to stop rolling around and look up at who it was.

“Right there should be good. Ah, do you need some help?” It was…the blonde woman! The woman that you liked! Jean! Miss Jean! Your baby seelie chirped around in excitement and rolled around until it fell out of the flower bed, shaking before drifting off to stalk your favorite person. (She was also your seelie’s favorite person because she smelled like dandelions! Your seelie loves flowers, and Jean was like a giant flower…)

After a while of stalking Jean, your seelie admired her authoritative figure from afar and came up with a plan. You liked Jean…you were happy whenever you saw Jean…the seelie should bring Jean to you! Yes! It should do that!

And so, your little baby seelie rushed headfirst towards the unsuspecting acting grandmaster, head butting into her cheek and bopping against her head. Jean nearly lost it, jumping and about to throw a quick punch to defend herself when she saw that it was just a baby seelie. An extra affectionate one at that…

“Oh dear…a seelie?” She tilted her head in confusion when your seelie began nuzzling against her cheek, trying to nudge her in the direction of where you were. “You…want me to go?” A little squeak answered her question. “I see…I suppose I could oblige..”

They say seelies were lost spirits that often led people to hidden treasure, but for Jean’s case, your seelie led her to you. A treasure in your own right. When you heard the familiar chirps of your little seelie companion, you looked up and was rightfully surprised by the treat your seelie brought. Not a stick, not a leaf, but a whole hot woman.

“Oh Barbatos…” you quickly rushed over in embarrassment. “I’m so sorry, Jean. My seelie seems to like you a lot because you smell like flowers. They have a tendency to bring them to me whenever they find one they like.”

“…Oh? Am I a flower, then?” Jean chuckled with amusement, watching as your face grew warm at the thought. “Well, to my seelie, yes.” You smiled awkwardly, your seelie leaning in close to sniff Jean’s hair. “Ah…no, you can’t sniff Jean—!”

The dandelion knight laughed at your curious baby seelie. The way their little face smushed into her hair was tickling her in a rather pleasant way, so the knight really didn’t mind. “It’s alright, I don’t mind…” Jean smiles, looking up at you with comfort, “I don’t mind being a flower for you…”

Your seelie let out a satisfied squeak at that.

HU TAO

Your seelie was one to play pranks often around the funeral parlor. A mischievous little spirit, it liked to lurk amongst the coffins and jump out at unsuspecting employees like a little ghost. While you’ve scolded this habit many, many times, your boss —and crush— Hu Tao seemed adamant on letting the little seelie express their mischief, finding the whole situation rather funny.

Well, maybe she’s not laughing so much anymore after this little prank. When it was around closing time and the only people inside the parlor were you and Hu Tao. You were just about ready to head home when you called out for your seelie to come out of hiding, a little concerned when they did not squeak or chirp back.

“Huh…that’s odd…” you looked around the room in confusion, Hu Tao entering the room with a cheeky grin. “What’s odd? Is there a creepy feeling you can’t shake off?” Hu Tao teases, leaning in to rest her chin on your shoulder.

Your heart fluttered at the sensation, quickly getting butterflies as you cleared your throat and smiled. “I suppose, I can’t find my baby seelie. I don’t know if they’re hiding or…”

Your boss grins and playfully winks at you. “Pulling a prank? I think so too…!” She waltzes around nonchalantly and starts looking through every empty coffin with ease. “Your baby seelie is just the cutest aren't they? Aiya…I wonder what they’re gonna do this time…”

She smirks at you and you feel like you’re about to faint. It’s not often that you have this kind of alone time with your boss, and when it happens, she’s always the type to tease you every chance she gets. “We shouldn’t encourage this type of behavior, Hu Tao. If my seelie continues to pull pranks like these, they’ll grow up to be—”

You both nearly jumped at the sound of a mischievous squeak. Your seelie was nearby! “Oh? Looks like they’re close…” Hu Tao grins, leaning closer to you, “I wonder where they…”

And then Hu Tao let out a loud yelp, leaping into the air and clinging to your body when your seelie bopped onto her back. Although you weren’t too startled by the sudden appearance, you still stood frozen in place at the feeling of Hu Tao holding you tightly. It was enough to make your heart rate spike, but not due to fear that Hu Tao originally thought…

“Ahhh geez, you scared me!” Hu Tao laughed, still holding onto your arm happily. “You’re such a cheeky thing, little one. I almost had to plan a funeral for myself!” As Hu Tao continued laughing however, you couldn’t shake off the feeling of her warm arms hugging onto yours and the snickering little squeaks of your mischievous little seelie. Who, if you might’ve guessed, definitely planned this interaction from the start…

GANYU

Seelies have slug-like appendages on their bodies that look like horns. Ganyu had horns…was Ganyu a seelie? Your pet seelie was deep in thought as it watched you and Ganyu converse by the pond in Liyue Harbor, wondering if the half adepti woman was just a weird looking seelie, or a human that happened to look like a seelie…

Either way, she was taking up too much of your attention and your seelie was getting jealous. How dare this big, fluffy seelie steal your attention for so long? You’ve barely glanced at them since you started talking with Ganyu! They were practically glaring holes into the adepti’s head, but no one noticed because well…seelies don’t have eyes…

“I’ll be right back, can you watch my seelie for a few minutes, Ganyu?” Your seelie perked up at your words. “Of course, they’re such an adorable little fellow, leave it to me…!” Hehe…your seelie has gotten an idea…

As you left Ganyu with your seelie, it then turned to glare at Ganyu and stare at her horns with blindsided rage. They aren’t here right now, this means war! Their little slug-like horns wriggling with fury as it made angry little chirps and squeaks. Ganyu didn’t understand a thing, but only smiled when she saw how frazzled your seelie got.

“Awe, are you excited little guy?” Ganyu chuckled, reaching up to hold it. “Don’t worry, your owner will be back soo—” BONK!

Ganyu recoiled in surprise when your seelie all of a sudden charged at her head, aiming for her horns as if it were a goat challenging for a mate. Get back! Get back! It made angry little chirps at Ganyu and tried so hard to intimidate her with its superiority. Clearly, it was the better seelie for you.

“Ah! W-Wait what is this—?” It didn’t hurt at all, but Ganyu was still very surprised and startled by what the seelie was trying to do. Die die die! As it tried to smush itself against her horns, you eventually came back and Ganyu ran to you in desperation. “Helppppp!” She wailed, your seelie still chasing after her horns. “It’s attacking me…!”

Your eyes widened at the sight. Ganyu running and covering her horns as your seelie angrily chased her and tried bonking against her head. “Oh my—” Ganyu rushed over to hug you and duck her head down low, the seelie scrambling up her hair and causing the adepti to whine. “Please helpppppp…”

It seems a rivalry has formed between your crush and your seelie. The latter being determined to win you over no matter what while Ganyu cried to you in confusion. While this may seem like a bad thing, it seems that your little seelie had accidentally gotten you and Ganyu a little closer, if there was anything to go by with how close Ganyu was hugging you….

As a lowly servant to the almighty shogun, you were barely recognized by her grace and therefore ignored due to your low social standing. It’s not like she purposely tried to ignore you, but due to her being of such high status, it was almost impossible to grab her attention as you were just a mere, faceless servant…

That is, until your seelie decided to take matters into their own hands. The curious little fellow, having noticed your longing stares and distracted gaze, wondered if there was anything they could do to grab the shogun’s attention for you. They were quite frankly, a bit tired of watching you pine over Ei from a distance. So, they formulated a plan behind your back to get Ei to notice you. (How sweet, yet also sad. Your seelie was playing wingman…)

So one day, while you were distracted baking Ei’s favorite sweets in the kitchen, your seelie wandered off without your permission to the private garden in which Ei meditated. It peeked its little head out of the bushes to watch the archon meditate in silence before formulating a plan to bring her to you. A determined look in the seelie’s…face orb, as it suddenly rushed out to summon a girlfriend for you.

“Hm…?” Ei felt a tiny prescience rushing towards her and raised a brow. “Miko, if that is you, I don’t have time to proofread your newest Yuri novel—“ SMACK.

Like it had just collided with a window, your seelie slowly slid off the archon’s face and fell to the ground like jello. The shogun staring blankly at it before comprehending the fact that she had been face slapped by a baby seelie. “…Oh!” She blinked and leaned down to inspect the little fellow. “You’re a seelie, aren’t you? A rather small one at that…”

It chirped when it finally gained consciousness and looked up at the archon with one beady eye. Scrambling to fly back up and tug at the archon’s braid to pull her where it needed to go. To you.

“…You’re taking me somewhere?” She looked down at your seelie trying to tug her somewhere and she reluctantly decided to follow. “I suppose it won’t hurt...” What she did not expect however was for your seelie to drag her over to you, where you were too busy baking the shogun’s favorite dessert to notice her presence in the doorway.

‘A person…?’ Ei tilted her head when she spotted you, curious as to why she’s never seen you before in her palace. Surely she would remember a person with such an attractive face…

“Excuse me,” Ei cleared her throat, smiling when she saw you jump slightly and turn around to face her. “I don’t believe we have formally introduced ourselves. May I know the name of such a pretty person…?”

As you stared shell shocked at your shogun in front of you, your seelie only bounced excitedly in the air beside her, seemingly proud of themselves for matching you up with your crush…

NILOU

You always admired Nilou’s dancing whenever she performed under the Zubayr Theater. Your seelie even more so as every time you caught a show with her, they’d sway along to the music beside you as if to mimic her beautiful dance.

It was always an endearing sight, watching the little baby seelie spin around in circles without a care in the world. You couldn’t help but smile whenever they did this, and to your own lack of knowledge, Nilou enjoyed it too, as she couldn’t help but be enthralled by the sight of a baby seelie dancing with her, next to a rather attractive looking person who always caught her eye…

She always looked forward to seeing you two whenever she had a performance. You always came to see her shows and she’d always try to spot you and your seelie in the crowd before she got to performing.

One day, Nilou decided to kick it up a notch during one of her performances, twirling around gracefully before extending her hand out to the audience. “I’d like a very special audience member to come join me as my dance partner…” she chimes sweetly, specifically looking in your direction as she really wanted you to accept…

To her surprise, your seelie lunged forward at the opportunity and squealed with excitement, spinning around her with fever. “Oh my…it seems this little one has volunteered…” Nilou smiled and glanced at you in the crowd, sending you a small wink to make your heart race. “I’ll be sure to give them a show they’ll never forget.”

Whether she was talking to you or your seelie was unclear, but Nilou didn’t lie. The way she danced in this particular performance was like she was trying to keep your eyes locked on her. Your seelie doing its best to keep up as it swayed with the music and bounced with each beat.

She seemed more…energetic during this dance. Smiling when she saw how giddy your seelie was getting and glancing at you to gauge your reaction. After a while, she spun particularly close to the crowd and extended her hand.

“How about we make this a throuple dance…?” She grinned charmingly, seelie coming up to rub against your cheek and practically begging for you to join in on the fun too. “Don’t worry, your little friend and I will make sure you don’t fall.”

Your heart sped up when your seelie nudged your hand upwards to take her hand. The audience behind you cheered for you to take her hand as you slowly grasped her touch in yours. “There you go…don’t worry now, we’ll keep the tempo for you.”

Summary: Welcome to Love & Deepspace Cafe! Today's menu is our favorite specialty drinks throughout the seasons—this is a one time limited offer, get them while they last! Pairing: None, just headcanons for all the L&DS boys! (Yes, including Caleb) Author's Note: Decided to make Love & Deepspace Cafe a little series on my random headcanons/blurbs for the boys! Also there's a Rafayel smut brewing in my drafts but that's a thing for another day ‿❀°

Xavier is Autumn, he’s warm clothes and cozy drinks. He’s the comfort film you put on whilst lounging all day in nothing but matching pajama sets, all tightly tucked under thick fleece blankets. Xavier is the shift of seasons from Summer to Winter, not quite hot but also not quite cold yet. He’s the hot tea you drink when you start to feel the chill in your bones, he’s the book you snuggle in during a slow Autumn afternoon. Xavier is Autumn because he reminds you of home.

Zayne is Winter, cool as ice and buried in a flurry of snow. He’s the first snowfall of the year, taking you by hand as you laugh in childish wonder. He's running outside to play in makeshift sleds, he's making silly little snow sculptures that you know will be gone by the end of the day. Zayne is a cup of hot cocoa that embraces you with warmth, he’s the thick cotton gloves that envelopes your hand as you rub them against one another, creating friction to fight off the cold Winter air. Zayne is Winter because he reminds you of innocence and childhood.

Rafayel is Summer, he’s the oddly comforting scent of coconuts and sunscreens. He’s the road trips you go on with friends, your hands dancing outside your car's window, screaming lyrics of some old song that came on the radio. Rafayel is the popsicle you buy in a hot summer’s day, hurriedly eating it before it melts, but laughing nonetheless when you’re left in a sticky mess. Rafayel is the sound of crashing waves and the view of a setting sun. Rafayel is Summer because he’s nostalgia personified, something that never fails to remind you that growing up isn't as bad as they made it out to be.

Bonus!

Caleb is Spring, he’s the weekend after school break, spent on late night phone calls with your friends, planning for the next time you can hang out. He’s mall dates with your best friends, he’s park walks with your pet, he’s sleeping in all day and going out till night just because you finally can. Caleb is the smell of freshly cut grass and morning dews. He’s the dandelions you make wishes on and the garden weeds you play with. Caleb is Spring because he reminds you of freedom.

A/N: So it's short, and I'm toying with the idea of keeping all of them around this length, though I'm not sure how feasible that will be, lol. I'm very wordy. Also, this would have been done earlier, but I was jamming to Hamilton Songs and got distracted.

“Come on, vod,” Rex’s fist lands on Fives’ shoulder, “She’s going to turn you down. This is just getting embarrassing for you.”

He flashes a crooked grin at his older brother, “You never know, she might say yes this time.”

“When she breaks your heart, again, don’t come crying to me.” Rex says with a sigh, though he might as well be talking to a brick wall for all the effect it has, as Fives scrambles to his feet and hurries over to the woman he’s had his eye on for months now.

Fives hurries over to his cyare, stopping only long enough to pluck a recently bloomed wildflower from the grass before he folds himself on the ground next to her, a broad grin on his handsome face.

“For you,” He says, as he holds the pale blue plant out to her.

She glances at the flower, and then at his face, “Back again?”

“Always,” He counters with a grin, as he leans in and tucks the flower behind her ear, “There. The perfect flower to enhance your natural beauty.”

She laughs softly, “You are relentless, Fives.”

“I’m told it’s one of my better personality quirks.” Fives replies, as he gets comfortable next to you, “Someday, I’ll convince you that it’s safe to go on a date with me.”

She ducks her head, “I don’t date soldiers. Especially not when we’re in the middle of a war. It’s not personal.”

He lightly taps her cheek, “Hey,” She lifts her gaze to meet his, and he beams at her, “You don’t have to worry about that. I’m very good at what I do. The best, even.”

“There’s always someone better, Fives.”

“I’ll always come back to you. Always.” Fives lays back in the grass, his arms tucked under his head, “After all, I love you.”

She huffs out a half laugh, before she drops the half made dandelion crown on his face, “The things you say-”

“What, you don’t believe me?”

“I do believe you.” She shakes her head, “I just don’t understand it. I’ve not done anything deserving of your love.”

“You’re you. What more do I need?” He closes his eyes,

“Fives-” She sighs.

He reaches out and lightly takes her hand in his. He rubs his thumbs across her knuckles and peers up at her, “Love is patient, cyare. I can wait as long as you need me to for you to be comfortable. I just want to be near you.”

She blinks at him, and then she sighs softly, “Turning you down would be easier if you weren’t so earnest.” She admits, before she lightly threads her fingers with his. “I don’t know if I’m ready to call myself your girlfriend. But I don’t mind spending time with you.”

Fives’ smile is wide and adoring, “I can work with that.” He plucks the flower crown off his face and sits up to set it on her head, “There, a crown for my Queen.”

She releases a whine in the back of her throat, pressing both of her hands over her face, “Fiiiives-” She drags his name out, and he laughs.

He can be patient. She’s worth it. She’ll always be worth it.

Dandelions

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Summary: Having heard stories about the Norse god of mischief, you find yourself falling in love with Loki despite having never met him. Out of devotion, you prepare offerings that you think he would like, and find ways to express the way you feel. Little do you know that your feelings are not unrequited.

(Yes, this is fluff inspired by the song "Dandelions" by Ruth B)

Maybe it was the way that you said his name. Or maybe it was the way that you offered your love for him to claim.

Loki watched from the Bifrost, looking down as you went about your day on Midgard. It was almost time for one of his favorite moments of the day. A moment for which he would set all of his affairs on Asgard aside, instead turning his attention to you and only you, his Midgardian devotee.

Standing in the field three blocks away from your apartment, you adjusted your heavy coat and picked up a small, whitish-yellow flower, bringing it up to your lips.

You closed your eyes and whispered, "Loki, the son of Odin and the companion of Thor."

And then you blew the dandelion, sending its seeds into the wind. When you opened your eyes, you placed the stem down and picked up another flower, invoking Loki again with a whisper.

"Loki, the son of Odin and the companion of Thor."

Reader POV:

According to something you had read on the internet, the dandelion was known as Loki's Bloom. Since then, you began making a small habit of picking up the dandelions and blowing them in his name. You would do anything to bring the Norse God of Mischief into your life, despite some scholars saying that he was actually someone who shouldn't be wanted.

The truth is that you nurtured a deep affection for Loki, ever since you had first read the stories about him and heard legends of his exploits from many an online scholar. You weren't sure what you loved the most about him: his cleverness, his intelligence, his playful nature, or his handsomeness (almost everyone in the stories- gods and goddesses and humans - described him as very good-looking). He was already one of the greatest heroes you'd ever believed in, even though you had never seen him in your life.

You began to create your own version of Loki, who soon became a source of comfort in your hectic, often anxiety-inducing life. He was a tall man with beautiful features: dark hair because it appealed to you the most, pale skin due to the climate, green eyes, and slender fingers that made every touch feel like magic. And he always knew the right thing to say at every moment, whether it was a witty remark that made you laugh or soothing words that eased your fears.

You found often yourself dreaming about your Loki at night. Sometimes he was dining with the other gods in Asgard, sometimes he was riding upon a horse, sometimes he was conjuring spells and illusions in the Nine Realms, sometimes he was enticing a new lover into his bed, and sometimes he was in solitude, enjoying a piece of literature.

"Loki, the son of Odin and the companion of Thor," you silently wished when you opened your eyes and held your pillow close. "Grant me a companion with your wit, your mischief, your bewitching nature. If not you, then let me have someone just like you in my life."

And as your love for Loki grew stronger with every new facet you learned about him, you began looking for ways to show your affection for the god. A voice inside you said that Loki - a god living in Asgard or Jotunheim - might never pay attention to you, just another human, but…it felt good to be doing things for someone who had brought you such sweet dreams. And because you simply adored him.

For months, you experimented with new recipes for cookies, breads, and cakes after reading an article about how the Norse God of Mischief enjoyed sweet offerings. Thanks to his blessings, most of them turned out delicious. After expressing your gratitude to Loki, you would whisper his name and present the dishes up as if offering it to him. Though he might never see or taste it, it still felt wonderful to perform acts of love in his name.

Other things you did for Loki included reading aloud stories to him, saving digital photos of artwork you thought Loki would like, and most recently, wishing on dandelions. Wishing on dandelions for someone you might never see outside of dreams.

Back to Loki's POV:

If only you knew the truth, my dear, Loki thought to himself. You were wrong to think that Loki did not know about the way that you felt about him. That he did not notice all the gestures that you performed to show him that you belonged to him.

Loki tilted his head, and watched you with a smile. He had never known anybody like you, so devoted to pleasing him. He relished the fragrances of the baked delicacies you prepared in his name, the way you wafted the scent towards the heavens so that he could enjoy them. He was amused when you created a form for him to assume, one that made you fall in love with him even more. He was delighted by how fervently you wished for a companion just like him.

And now here you were, standing in a field of dandelions, wishing for the same thing.

Knowing there was only one thing to do, Loki closed his eyes.

When he opened them, he stood at the same field of dandelions where he'd seen you earlier. Lost in your own thoughts, you were gazing at the setting sun after wishing on several dandelions. Loki invoked a magic spell that transformed himself into the handsome, green-eyed man with chin-length hair who captured your heart. He transformed his clothing into a long-sleeved green tunic, dark trousers, and a suit of black and gold armor. Then, Loki picked another dandelion and offered it to you.

"Will you not wish upon this one, my lady?"

You turned around, and Loki smirked. He stepped forward and gently placed his hand upon your cheek, your lip trembling at his touch.

"You wished for me, did you not? Here I am." Loki gently said, watching the shock upon your face morph into a smile. "If only you knew how powerful you are, sweet one. You have brought a god at your mercy with your acts of love."

A/N: I saw the TikTok headcanons @lovedrruunk posted and I couldn't help myself! I had to drabble just a little! May or may not be a ploy to just share what I'm listening to from time to time lmao

Premise: Takes place in the same universe as anxious!reader (college AU basically). You do a TikTok for the first time because all your friends do them.

Warnings: None!

Song: first date - frad

Description: I think it's just one of those days. :\

The video starts out with a downward shot of you walking to nowhere in particular. Between the tattered concrete you find a dandelion has grown through the cracks, and you stop to zoom in on it before the clip ends.

The second clip begins looking up at the blooming spring trees in your local park. Petals gently dance in the air and land on the grass below the tree you decide to sit under. There's a cut to you sitting on a blanket with your water bottle, favorite stuffed animal and sketchbook. There's a POV of you beginning to sketch lightly before erasing it in disappointment. You begin again only to repeat the same process.

In the last shot you hug your stuffed animal close while your sketchbook sits closed in your bag along with your drawing pencils.

You finish it by applying a cutesy filter over everything to make it more visually appealing. Then, you hit upload.

Instead of going to pride Saturday I'm getting a tattoo!! I'm finally getting the Freddie Mercury quote, "I'll fucking do it, Darling" as a tattoo! Along with a dandelion and a Franklin's bumblebee!

My artist was already familiar with the story but when Queen was recording the song The Show Must Go On, Brian May told Rolling Stone Magazine in 2010 that Freddie was so ill he had doubts that the singer would be physically able to sing the song. May said, "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling'—vodka down—and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal." And that's the kinda sick queer energy I want in my life!

The Franklin's bumblebee is my favorite bee because they are thought to be extinct, the last one was seen in 2006, but people still go out in the mountains looking for them! And I think that says a lot about humanity's capacity for hope! So they're my favorite bee. And they COULD still be out there. We've found "extinct" bees out there living their best little bee lives before! They're also native to the area I was born!

The dandelion is because to me they are symbols of resilience. And I love that they've been embraced by various queer folks as symbols of our resilience and transformation. I have a "queer language of flowers" zine that relates them to our resilience as well!

my long ass elaborate ranking of Will Wood's (and The Tapeworms') albums!! (Everything is a Lot ranking list)

for the purpose of making this i've been listening to this whole album like non stop for the past week. i even made my parents listen to it with me (my mom liked it and said that she'd go to see the songs live if she could!). it was actually pretty difficult to rank all of them but i think the top 3 will remain unchanged forever, they're some of my all time favorites from will wood!! the way i'll do this i think is i'll write down all the things i like about a particular song, maybe a favorite lyric and a favorite moment or something. or just some general rambling. also i split Everything is a Lot into Everything is a Lot and Destroy to Enjoy, like in the remastered album!

1. Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY (Bones)

first time i heard this song was over a year ago so i can't tell what my exact first impression was but it did almost immediately become my favorite song ever. I LOVE IT SO MUCH IT'S INSANE. also fun fact, memberoflottiescult really likes this song!

my main thing with this song is that it sounds like?? you know, bones?? it sounds like skeletons. the melody is like something a skeleton would've come up with. i can't explain it but it is hearable. best song ever

2. 6up 5oh Cop-Out (Pro / Con)

it was one of the first will's songs i've ever liked on spotify. ughhhh the energy, the general mashing of the piano and it sounding like it's about to fall apart any second lol!! the high ass notes. perfect, so perfect. i was listening to this song while purchasing a meter long plush goose. the song is like a brother to me

my favorite part is the spoken "am i being detained? am i under arrest? read me my rights please! I WANT MY PHONECALL" it's uhfhdfhkf. showstopping

3. White Knuckle Jerk (Where Do You Get Off?)

it took me exactly one (1) full listen to this one to absolutely fall in love with it, holy fuck. one of the best things i've ever heard. every time it's on i have to loop it a few times

my favorite parts are the "i wonder how i woke up in the middle of my surgery and i watched them botch my heart. only the second worst thing that i could've thought was 'this won't have to end if it doesn't start'" and "i'll never know what it's like to love you" because ummm???? the emotion in his voice omfg, i love it when this happens. it's so perfect (reminds me of julian devorak..........)

4. Lygerside Daydream

had me hooked after the first listen as well. i love the melody and i love how the lyrics are written here. i, too, want to blow the seeds of dandelions and wish for nothing more. such a sweet sound. one of my favorites as well. nice to daydream to, ha!!!

5. Front Street

idk how to explain this but the pace of the song, like the way the lyrics are sung is so satisfying. just the sentence structure and stuff.. uhhh i really don't know how to describe this, but i love it a whole lot. the piano melody here is amazing as well it so???? A while ago I created merch of Prussia and Austria. I've been back in the RP scene, yeah, I know cringe! But when I was RP'ing with my partner she said a certain song really described these two and... low and behold I created merch based on the song "Dandelions" by Ruth B. I wanted to do art based off of them and it wasn't until I was 2 hours into listening to this on repeat that the vision, and tears, started to come to me. This happens to be one of my favorite pieces to date, I hope you all enjoy.

Ok, I have a sad theory about Alex Turner's relationships with his women and his music, that is, I hope, not 100% true. And I do want to share it with you!

The concept is that Alex takes only inspiration from his girlfriends for the new albums, write lyrics about them, but not really love them. And the only person whom he is in love with is Miles Kane.

Before we start I'd like to say that I don't wanna blame or offend anyone. I personally do not know any of the people described below and I can be wrong about them. I respect everything they do, and in fact I sympathize with absolutely every character. All the thoughts described below came to my mind only during a small investigation of some Alex's texts, which hooked me with their references even though sometimes they are not obvious.

Sooo, let's begin with Johanna Bennett. They were dating in 2005-2007, Alex was 19, for sure just a kid. The development of Arctic Monkeys has just begun, first album, first fame and fans confession. In fact, there is little information about them on the Internet, and the only thing I found was what he recorded with her "Fluorescent Adolescent". I can't say anything about specifically her influence on the first albums, because the press did not really catch their relationship. Then let's slowly move on to the favorite of most fans Alexa Chung.

Alexa was a real match. Their names, appearance and magnetic charisma spoke for themselves. They were dating from 2007 to 2011, Humbug and Suck It and See were released in this period (Favorite Worst Nightmare was recorded before her). And if in Humbug I can’t clearly trace any references (except perhaps Crying Lightning), then SIAS is one continuous declaration of love to Alexa. It has a lot more melancholic, romantic, incredibly touching songs - «She’s Thunderstorms», «Reckless Serenade», «Piledriver Waltz», «Love Is a Laserquest», «Suck It and See» and others. There is no doubt that the main source of inspiration was Alexa. And when Alex performed live She’s Thunderstorms after their split, the bitter pain was felt throughout the song. I mean, read some lyrics from SIAS:

Your love is like a studded leather headlock

Your kiss it could put creases in the rain

You're rarer than a can of dandelion and burdock

And those other girls are just postmix lemonade;

The type of kisses where teeth collide

When she laughs, the heavens hum a stun gun lullaby

Those twinkling vixens with the shining spiral eyes

Their hypnosis goes unnoticed when she's walking by

And I do believe that Chung was his last true love. Some sort of a special chemistry could be seen between them, a strong real feeling. Alexa was loving, easy and sincere, just like SIAS.

But after only a month in 2011 he started dating Arielle Vandenberg, a Hollywood actress. With her they had their best (commercially and judging by the love of the audience) album AM. IT was cheeky, luxurious, sexy - posh as an American dream, whose incarnation can be called Arielle. She was in R U Mine? and One For The Road clips (maybe even in some more), she is definitely his Arabella starting at least from the leopard coat that she often wore. In a word, she fit well into the concept of AM. They also looked cute with him, drinking together in bars and wearing damn cool Halloween costumes. And, more importantly, she got along with the rest of the members, as did Alexa, by the way!

Several months passes and Alex is in a relationships again - this time with a model Taylor Bagley, the most chaotic and crazy one (in a good way). After stunning success of AM Monkeys are taking a hiatus, and Alex starts having fun with Miles. We come to the intriguing part. During their relationship with Taylor, they are recording a new album with TLSP, which, in addition to the sound of vintage soul with strings, is also very romantic and poignant. What they did with Miles on stage is another story, but we'll get to that later. So, he and Taylor got paired tattoos with their names, he literally wrote at least "Sweet Dreams, TN" about her (Although being born in Oklahoma, she states in interviews that she considers herself a Nashville, Tennessee, native and she has a piercing in her nose), by the way, she also made a tattoo with the name of this song. Together with Miles they hang out at her house with a pool and dog; she is in "Bad Habits" clip, and in general they are real safely threesome. They are crazy, drunk and happily doing some odd things, like the 2nd TLSP album.

And finally we are coming to the most provocative part. Louise Verneuil. I will not say whether he cheated on Bagley with her or not, but the time between the breakup and the new relationship was negligible. Rumors say that Louise was almost in his dressing room backstage while he was still in a relationship with Taylor. So, so far, their relationship with the French singer is the longest he's ever had (2018-till now). Visually, I am insanely impressed with how they look together, they complement each other incredibly, if only because Louise is finally lower than him ahahaha. She is petite and flirtatious, infused with the spirit of the 70s and Jane Birkin. Look at her clips (Love Corail, Desert and etc.), and then at the Car....

Yes, he produced some videos for her, so maybe they are similar. But his style of Alain Delon, the image of the horny teacher of geography from the 70s, scarves at concerts and so on - all this gives off the atmosphere of Louise. For example, a There'd Better Be a Mirrorball clip, in which, by the way, there is Louise as well.

The only thing that confuses everyone is her bad relationship with fans (I saw a screenshot of the correspondence somewhere, where she rudely asked the girl to remove the photo with Alex from her stories), scandals with likes on posts about rape, photos of Alex once in a while a year, and the absence of Alex's sincere smile next to her, let's be honest. And one important notice - he stopped celebrating Halloween with Louise, which he apparently loved very much, as he always carefully approached the choice of costume (my favorite is Florence and the Machine with Arielle, it's fantastic)

Let's sum up a little. 1) Since 2005 Alex cannot be without a relationship for more than 4-5 months, which is not normal obviously. He seems to be afraid of being alone, thinking that he will not find inspiration for a new album, or, in principle, he has a fear of loneliness. 2) Vibes of all his albums are a reflection of his girls. Next to them he changes also. 3) Remember the evolution of his images, in addition to age and interests, the style of girls also influences him. With Alexa, it’s simple T-shirts and old jeans, while she is in plain dresses and shorts with knee socks; with Arielle he is in tight pants and leather jackets, and she is in extravagant coats and heels; with Taylor he is in colorful suits and flared pants, and she is in very short tops with pink hair; with Louise he is in corduroy jackets and white shirts, whilst she in vintage jeans and flowing blouses - boom, all matches! 4) Obviously he has a type of girls with a square face, blond hair and bangs. The only one who deviated much from this type was Taylor. 5) I have not seen him hugging, laughing and kissing someone the way Miles Kane does, next to whom he literally glows, not afraid to show himself, not afraid to be real, foolish, but really himself.

Perhaps happiness loves silence and Alex, as a not very public person, keeps all the feelings between him and his woman, but he is too open next to Miles, not afraid to show his feelings in public, which raises some doubts.

I Can’t Believe it’s Not Fanon

Facts that sound like Geraskier fic writers made them up, but are in fact, book canon.

Geralt plays it cool, but he secretly thinks Jaskier has a beautiful voice.

We know Dandelion is famous and renowned. But singers aren’t always necessarily famous because they have the most beautiful voices. They can have decent voices and just be good entertainers, very attractive, have catchy songs, etc. But we actually know that Dandelion’s voice is enchanting. In fact, it is so beautiful, it has saved his life multiple times.

One time, it soothes a werewolf.

Right before dawn, while it was still dark, a hungry, vicious werewolf crept up to their camp, but saw that it was Dandelion, so he listened for a moment, then went on his way.

The Sword of Destiny pg 246

Another time, it keeps the dryads from killing him. The dryads, who kill any man on sight without mercy, spare his life because as soon as he is in arrow shot, he sits down and sings. Instead of killing him, a group of dryads emerge and listen to him sing. Then they demand that he sing more.

Geralt however, won’t openly express admiration of his voice. When he finds Dandelion serenading the dryads he says:

“Dandelion.”

“Geralt!”

“Yes, it’s me. You can stop that racket now.”

But later, we see that he knows which ballads are Dandelion’s and which belong to other people. So we know he pays attention.

“The concert you gave was clearly to their liking. Now you’re ard táedh, “the great bard.” They’re waiting for the next part of ‘The Flower of Ettariel’. Do you know the rest? It’s not your ballad, after all.”

Time of Contempt, p210-212

In Season of Storms, Geralt also stubbornly refuses to express admiration for Dandelion’s voice. It’s a hilarious passage.

“You know, you've never congratulated me on my ballads," Dandelion suddenly spoke up. "I've composed and sung so many of them in your company. But you've never said: That was nice, I'd like you to play that again. You've never said that."

"You're right I haven't. Do you want to know why?"

"Yes."

"Because I've never wanted to"

"Would it be such a sacrifice?" asked the bard, not giving up. "Such a hardship? To say: Play that again, Dandelion. Play As Time Passes."

“Play it again, Dandelion. Play As Time Passes."

"You said that quite without conviction."

"So what? You'll play it anyway."

"You'd better believe it."

However, despite Geralt’s protests (honestly he probably just thinks that Dandelion has a big enough ego already lol), the narrator tells on him.

In Sword of Destiny, Geralt is listening to Dandelion and Essi sing and the narrator tells us how he really feels.

"Geralt lay on a makeshift bed of spruce branches with his hands under his head and thought he had never heard such beautiful voices or such beautiful ballads.

--Sword of Destiny, pg 245

So there you have it. Canon confirmation that Geralt thinks Dandelion has one of the most beautiful voices he has ever heard.

And I like to think that Dandelion’s music is one way he makes Geralt’s life that much better.

In stories set in medieval times with no tv, movies, or recorded music, storytellers and troubadours are luxuries.

So Dandelion is a luxury that Geralt can afford because Dandelion just needs some love and the odd adventure, and Geralt has plenty of both of those things.
