Unhinged buddie fic idea again -- Tia Pepa starts setting up Eddie on dates but with a bit of an AU twist.

Tia Pepa starts setting Eddie up on dates. Which Buck is fine with. Obviously. Why wouldn't he be? Eddie is his best friend, he wants him to be happy. He's also straight and maybe Buck liked having him all to himself but realistically, that couldn't last forever.

Whatever. He can get over it. Or he can at least pretend he got over it.

So Eddie is complaining at the firehouse about another set-up date and Buck tries to be positive and encouraging and says something about how Eddie could at least give them a chance - even if every word is said through gritted teeth.

And Eddie is appalled and says something along the lines of, "Maybe my tia should be setting you up, if you're so open to the idea." And everyone from the team claws at the idea, teasing Buck about being single and wanting to marry into the Diaz family through Eddie's cousin or something (which, a bit too close to the truth, ha).

Eddie finds the idea so hilarious that he tells Pepa about it. And regrets it not a minute later when she says, "Why not? I could set your Buck up with someone nice."

This actually makes Eddie grit his teeth, there's just something that makes him itch, even just thinking about Buck going out with any of the women Eddie went out with---Just no.

What he doesn't know is, Tia Pepa goes over his head on this --- just calls Buck (because of course she has his number, he's family and Eddie's and Chris's emergency contact). She sweet-talks Buck into it over the phone, telling him how Eddie told her about how he's single and how she knows just the right person for Buck and it'll be nice to keep Buck close in the family if it works out.

Obviously, Buck is skeptical --- there's just one Diaz he wants to be with and he's unavailable --- but then Pepa keeps on going how she knows just his type and how he's not going to regret it and just one date never harmed anyone and, well, Buck caves in because he's weak against most Diazes it seems.

He doesn't tell anyone about it. Not even Eddie. It's probably just going to be one date that he'll ruin like he always does and the girl will tell Pepa all about it and then Pepa won't even bother to set up another poor girl with him.

He gets a text with the place and time, a small hole-in-the-wall place that's just about Buck's thing, and an ominous message with Addy will wait for you there, look out for a red bandana.

And Buck is expecting some cute girl in dungarees and with a bandana holding up her hair but when he enters the place, it's almost dead and there's just some elderly couple, a group of teens, and a guy. A guy in jeans, a white t-shirt, sunglasses, and with a red bandana tied around his neck.

Turns out Addy is short for Adam, not Adelina or Adriana like Buck thought.

Adam is also gorgeous. Dark hair, chocolate eyes, tan skin, fit and strong. Addy has a six-year-old daughter, is no longer in contact with his ex-husband, works as a nurse in the ER, loves quiet indie places, and would love to travel the world every chance he has.

When after the date --- which goes on for so long the cafe's owner has to ask them to leave because they're closing --- Buck calls Pepa to tell her how it went and when can't really make his mouth produce words, she just tells him, "I told you I know your type, mijo."

Needless to say, Eddie finds out about that fast because Addy is his cousin and texts him for ideas for a second date with 'his friend Buck.'

His brain resets. Then restarts. Then resets again.

He did not know that about Buck. He would've known that about Buck.

He's calling his tia before he knows it and demanding answers.

Eddie, well, Eddie is fuming inside but Buck seems happy and Addy seems happy and they're both good guys so he shuts up whatever unreasonable, surprising anger he's boiling with and helps Addy prepare a date --- tells him about the water show in the aquarium he was planning on taking Buck and Chris to.

But the day of the show comes and Buck isn't answering his texts and he's just walking in circles around the kitchen table and before he realizes what he's doing, he's packing Chris into the car and, "Oh, look at that, what a coincident we're meeting you here."

He feels like an absolute madman when Addy tells him, when Buck and Chris are distracted by colorful fish, "If you didn't want me to date him, you could have just said so."

And a couple of days later both Pepa and Buck are at Eddie's for dinner and he feels like an absolute asshole when Pepa tells Buck Addy doesn't want another date. For about five minutes, that is, because after that Pepa looks Eddie straight in the eyes, he swears, and says brightly, "Don't worry, I know plenty of young single men that are just your type, Evanito."

The history repeats, obviously, and Eddie uses Chris to just 'run' into Buck on his date with another of his cousins. At some point, his cousins probably start to warn each other about it because they stop talking to Eddie about Buck's favorite activities and foods.

But they tell Buck the date places. And Buck tells at least one person on the team, always, and Eddie might be a madman but he's a madman on a mission so he always tricks the info out of someone -- Chim is usually the easiest and Hen won't admit but she likes to gossip about people's love lives. He even manages to trick Bobby into telling him where Buck is on his next date under the disguise of concerned 'Buck sure is going on a lot of dates lately,' etc. and Bobby actually falls for it and Eddie feels guilty about it until he hears Buck is going on a date with his godawful cousin Marco.

(Meanwhile, every time Buck 'runs' into Eddie on a date, he's cursing the universe and its stupid, obvious signs... Like, he knows he's in love with Eddie, the universe can shut up and stop screaming at him.)

Eddie is at Pepa's again and she comes back from where she was talking to someone on the terrace and silently sits down opposite Eddie with that look and says, "So, that was Marco."

"Yes, exactly. Marco. How could you set him up with Marco of all people?"

"Well, I'm running out of candidates because someone keeps on scaring them off."

Eddie doesn't look her in the eyes. He's truly become a madman since the whole thing started happening but like hell he'll admit it.

"You know, Eddie, if you don't want Buck to date any of your cousins, there's an easy solution that will solve this dilemma and will let us keep Buck in the family."

"Pepa---"

"Tell you what, I'll set one more date for him, tomorrow at seven at that ice cream sandwich truck Chris likes," she says, raising her eyebrows pointedly. "You decide if his date stands him up or not."

He never ever again wants to see Buck going out with any of his cousins.

Which doesn't mean he isn't a coward. He doesn't tell Buck. He tries to leave the house three times, changes his clothes about six times, and by the end of it, he's late.

Buck is easy to find between people, towering over most.

Buck smiles when he sees him but it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "Let me guess, he decided it wasn't worth it and backed out last minute," he sighs. "And Tia Pepa sent me a personal cheer squad to humor me up and pay for my ice cream."

"No, he's here," Eddie says because the it's me doesn't want to leave his mouth.

"Oh," Buck says, and his shoulders don't look so slumpy anymore but he still doesn't look, well, happy. "Where is he then?"

Eddie makes an elaborate wave with his arm and deadpans, "Ta-da."

There's a moment when those big baby blues blink at Eddie dumbly and Eddie swears Buck stops breathing for a few seconds before finally managing to push out, "Oh."

Chris is a grownup. Has been for decades. He is able to make his own decisions. I understand that a lot of people don't like the fact that there are family members or friends who are willing to participate in this whole thing and play along. And that is what a lot of people think they do to get clout and attention. But we don't know anything about the situation. We don't know whether they want clout or just want to help someone they love. Whether they tried to tell him that this wasn't a good idea or not, but he was stubborn and thought he knew what was best for him. Whether he even asked them about this whole thing.

Or maybe they just simply get along with alba and her crew. I believe there is some of his friends and fams that genuinly like her, without chris told them to do so

There is not a doubt in my mind that Chris fans wouldn’t attempt something similar, even if on a smaller scale. People threatened to crash his sister’s wedding, they’ve stood outside of his property and bragged about it on social media, and they flat up contact businesses they think he could be working with. It’s completely unhinged. Again, it’s no shock to me that they’d stay hush hush just to protect themselves 🦎

The reasons you've given are the same reasons why many of us don't believe your "sources." Who's to say you've not been played the entire time by a stalker stan. Unless you've met your "source(s)" in real life to back up who they say they are, you don't know if the person(s) is telling you the truth of their identity, the info they provided, or how they've gathered the info. Either way, you're a willing participant in someone else's game. The someone else being a person(s) who's betrayed Chris' trust, a PR narrative, or a stalker fan, none of which makes you or they morally look good.

Dead Poets Society boys = Marauders boys (parallels)

So, i think we can all agree that the Dead Poets Society boys reminds us so much of our beloved Marauders. And this thread is just to tell which character from DPS is like another character from The Marauders Era.

JAMES POTTER = NEIL PERRY + KNOX OVERSTREET

I think, James is most like Neil Perry in this movie. The ringleader of the group, kind and including of everyone, and the typical golden boy, very bright and extroverted. Protective and loyal to the people he love. A troublemaker to an extent (never doing harm). Also, his death is the great tragedy of the story, like James.

But, he is also like Knox Overstreet, on that whole lady business. Knox is totally infatuated with Chris (*cough* Lily Evans *cough*), and would do anything for her, even make a fool out of himself just to get her. Like James. Also, that grin that Knox has, you cant tell me that James didnt have that grin too!!

2. SIRIUS BLACK = CHARLIE DALTON

Well, this is pretty obvious i believe. Charlie Dalton (Sirius) the best friend of Neil perry (James), like the Marauders. Charlie, like Sirius, is always the more reckless, rebellious and impulsive one, the very extroverted charming friend, who sometimes tend to do things that harm others, tho not on purpose. They are also the official drama queen of their groups. His family is very rich, like Sirius' family, and he has "FRUITY" written all over him. Also Sirius/Charlie, definitely had a thing for Remus/Meeks.

3. REMUS LUPIN = STEVEN MEEKS.

Now, Meeks and Remus are very much like each other. They are both the "Smart guys", Charlie mentioning Meeks to excel in Latin, Trig and English, the main classes, where i can imagine that Remus is excelling in Charms, DADA and Transfiguration.

Meeks is willing to try anything at least once (except sex), and is a willing participant in most of the dumb shit his friends are doing, but he doesent seem like the type to do dumb shit, much like Remus.

Also, Remus/Meeks has a very good friendship with Frank/Pitts, and Frank/Pitts were closer to Remus/Meeks, than the others guys, whereas Remus/Meeks is more close to the other guys, but still a good friend to Frank/Pitts.

Also Remus/Meeks definitely had a thing for Sirius/Charlie, and they did fuck many times.

4. PETER PETTIGREW = TODD ANDERSON + RICHARD CAMERON

Now, i know many will probably disagree with me on this, but just hear me out.

Now, Peter is like Todd in many ways.

Todd is the shy kid. Or well, he was the shy kid until he was included by Neil, just like Peter was included by James (or so i would like to believe). He is a sweet boy and love his friends a lot (like the young Peter did). Todd struggles a lot in his classes and is afraid of presenting and confrontation like young Peter was. Todd was always outshined by his friends and brother, like Peter, but they both didnt mind very much. Todds friends tried to include him as much as possible, like the Marauders did with Peter in their Hogwarts years.

Buuuuut... Cameron was also like Peter. We see that in the bad qualities. Like, the betrayal Cameron did to Mr. Keating and to the Dead Poets. The way Cameron was reluctant to be a part of the Dead Poets schemes and rulebreaking, but still wanted to be a part of the group nontheless, like Peter with the Marauders. Both Cameron and Peter were weaker than their friends, and they both knew it, and betrayed them to be better/stronger than their friends. Also, the fact that they both got punishment for their betrayals, Cameron being punched in the face by Charlie, and Peter being killed by his own hand.

5. FRANK LONGBOTTOM = GERARD PITTS

Pitts were a part of the Dead Poets, but not that close with everyone (except Meeks/Remus). He liked to be their friend and he was a part of the the Dead Poets meetings and he talked with everyone quite well, but he wouldnt call himself their best friend.

The same with Frank Longbottom and the Marauders. Of course, in this case he wasnt a part of the Marauders like Pitts were with the Dead Poets, but they were both friends with everyone in their groups, but mainly close to one person, Meeks/Remus.

They are also both quite good in school and smart, but not that remarkable or outstanding, like their peers.

They are both sweet and kind boys, pretty much just a character that is "there", and not someone holding that much purpose in the storyline, but still a important character nontheless.

6. MINERVA MCGONAGALL = JOHN KEATING

Mr. Keating is like Minerva McGonagall in the teaching sense.

Mr. Keating were the Dead Poets favourite teacher, and he inspired them all. The Dead Poets also held a special place in his heart, despite all the dumb things they did. He was a brave professor, and he taught his students the way he wanted to, and was even fired for the ways he taught.

The same with Minerva. She was the Marauders favourite teacher too, and she also inspired them. They held a special place in her heart, and you cant convince me that Minerva didnt cry like Mr. Keating did, when she discovered that James/Neil was killed.

at the time, i believe wesker was looking for backing. you know how like when a video game publisher wants to make a game but they dont have the financial backing to make it? wesker was seeking that out and most likely ran into tricell while doing his research or w/e. i think i read that excella was tied to the company through her family(?) so im sure he saw her as this weakened individual with essentially little-to-no company status that he could easily use and manipulate. that was his goal from day 1. i think it was just a plus for him that she was also hot but i don't think their relationship started until a few years later.

it wouldn't strike me as odd that excella most likely started trying to pursue albert romantically while he was in the process of trying to get her into a lead position: lets be real, he's a good looking man. an older man at that, who's doing everything his power to pull strings so that she can help him with his ultimate plan. im sure he also put the idea in her head that she was equal to him in both intelligence and social standing just so that she could believe in his plan and actively become a participant in it.

albert isn't the type to become attached to business partners. we've seen it time and time again. he's a traitor, inside and out. as soon as a better opportunity comes up, he's there. with excella, though, i think he ended up becoming a little too close than what he wanted and she was willing to be his shoulder to lean on. i mean, strikes me as quite vulnerable that he allows her to inject him with pg67aw every single day; he very obviously trusts her. not to mention that they're very obviously having a sexual relationship by the time we see them in re5: he lets her touch him, lets her put her hands on his body without trying to stop her. he has no visible reaction but the chemistry is too good and un-awkward for it to mean anything less.

i dont think he expected uroboros to bond with her, i think that was his decision because he knew it wouldnt. i wouldnt put it past excella to have tried to use albert in return in order to get even higher in the business (even though they were on top of the bioweapons black market game) and he would have caught onto her schemes quite early. he was cutting his losses because he realized in the end, she really truly thought she could be on his level and he didnt want that. dare i even say he expected that role to have been filled by chris

i actually suspected that one of the reasons we haven’t heard anything about the yyh ovas being dubbed outside of covid is because funimation wasn’t sure what to do about huber voicing hiei. his affidavit makes some weird claims about chris sabat (kuwabara’s voice actor) that seem to cumulatively argue that funimation is a hotbed of inappropriate behavior. he also alleges rumors that getting roles at funimation is contingent on women being willing to do sexual favors, but stops short of directly saying sabat participated in this (while clearly trying to get the people reading the affidavit to believe that sabat participated in such sexual abuse).

i’m upset that he’s apparently coming back to the role because if the yyh ova dubs are successful then i think funimation may just give huber more and more roles despite the fact that he admits in the affidavit that he approached both rial and marchi on his own to get them to settle with mignogna and tries to downplay their allegations

I made some drawings on a whiteboard, featuring some other characters I conjured up in my free time. I'll provide some context for these guys as they're shown, but please mind my ramblings.

First, these guys. These lovely bastards.

For those who have a keen eye, this is formatted in the same way as TWEWY's Fusion Attacks, specifically from the DS.

These are the two main characters of a PMD plot I'm working on(Which I might write a pilot for, if y'all want that), and despite the group consisting of five Pokemon, these two are especially close, and have went on the most missions together out of everyone on the team.

Noibat(Top): Chris. He's the main main character, and he's a human sent here by Arceus, yada yada world-ending event, you get the idea. He has some killer leadership skills, and is typically the peace-keeper of the team. He's normally the one getting into problems with the villians when he doesn't need to(You guys know Izuku, Bakugo and Shoto from MHA? Basically them), and his team is almost always referred to as the "problem children".

Cubone(Bottom): Lucas. Think of him as Chris's "Second-in-command". He's the second opinion everyone needs when it comes to certain topics. His mother is(More like was, but I'll get to that when the time comes) a previous Rescue Ranger, so he has a natural knack for the whole business. Say hi to Azure, I guess(Actually don't, he might wanna throw hands with you).

He's super antisocial, but unlike Neku, he's willing to fight anyone that does as little as breathe the wrong way in his direction.

And his getup? His entry fee for the Reapers Game is his uniqueness, obviously something he didn't know he respected about himself so much until it was taken away from him. Because of that, he dawns an outfit similar to that of our favorite legendary Player, of course with a few changes(And it also explains his amnesia. I just drew him as a dragon just because, which is a habit you'll see in a lot of my drawings from here on).

He's also treated as if he's Neku(Specifically, Neku from the events of Neo onwards); as if he's been through this before. As you can probably guess, he definitely has not. After a certain point, he fights nothing but Boss Noise and even Reapers themselves, leaving his partner very confused as to why this is happening to them. Azure himself has a hard time grasping the fact that he's dead, despite it being told to him about a dozen times, but it comes from a sense of denial. He doesn't want to believe he's dead, mostly because that's something he, like many other people, is scared of... death itself.

Don't mistake Azure's aggression for meanness, however. When the time comes, he does care for people's well-being, and will even risk his erasure for their safety, which is a large reason why he even participates in the Game during his third week instead of just becoming a Reaper, which he calls "The coward's way out".

Good fucking lord I can't believe that SM is bringing Lucas back. Fuck Lucas, fuck Chris Lee, and fuck anyone who is continuing to support him. It is incredibly telling that SM never released any sort of denial of the accusations, no promise to investigate, nothing. And that Lucas himself posted a BS 'apology' for his actions with no attempt to deny anything. And now they want to bring him back???? I'm honestly so mad, this will only serve to bring down any group he participates in esp as he has made it clear he dislikes a fair amount of the NCT members. He's a huge fucking liability, his fanbase has been decimated and people (myself included) are willing to boycott groups they stan if he is reinstated as member. Hi! I don't want to start anything on here and am always willing for civil conversations. At this point there's so much I've found out about Seb (besides the video he liked, the tommy lee thing, and the girlfriend thing) that I feel so guilty if I would continue to support him. I love him sm but it just doesn't look good rn. He is associated/follows an organisation (for helping veterans) that has posted a blue lives matter flag picture and who's co-founder has sexual assault allegations against him, and worked with him in 'The last full measure'. His friend Paul Walter Hauser has done blackface in the past, and when called out on it he just listed a few people that also did blackface. There's more, I found a discussion on here that I can link. I seriously don't support "cancel culture" bc I don't think it helps anyone but there are just a lot of 'mistakes' and shady people that can be linked to Seb, I wish it wouldn't be that way. I honestly don't know what to think about it anymore.

The video he liked - this video was taken completely out of context and that is my main issue with this whole situation. It was not a video of a white man saying that he thinks he should be able to say the n word as everyone claimed it was. They were quickly debating on whether or not it's okay to say in rap lyrics. He was told no, that's not okay, that's never okay and they moved on from it. That's it. End of story. That somehow was twisted into a click bait style headline of "Sebastian Stan likes a video of a white man defending his right to say the n word" when that is absolutely not true. My other issue is that people are more upset that Sebastian liked the video than they are about the white man in the video literally saying the n word. So, do you really care about the use of the n word like you're claiming? Cuz if you do, you'd be more upset at the white man that said the word than you would be about the white man simply liking the video. Or, are you just using this as an excuse to grandstand against a white man you don't like?

The Tommy Lee thing - Sebastian Stan playing Tommy Lee does not make Sebastian Stan a bad person. Is Charlize Theron a bad person for playing Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute who started murdering men? Is Leonardo DiCaprio a bad person for playing a slave owner? Is Edward Norton a bad person for playing a nazi sympathizing racist? Actors play bad people. That doesn't mean that they themselves are bad people. 1990's Tommy Lee was a bad person, but that should have no bearing on who Sebastian Stan is or his character as a man.

The gf/Paul Walter Hauser thing - Why are we holding Sebastian accountable for what the people around him are doing? Again, why are we more upset that Sebastian is associated with people who have done questionable things than the specific people themselves? I'm not going to speak on the kimono wearing -- I'm not Asian. It's not my place to say whether or not its offensive because it's not my culture, but she posted that picture and attended that party before she started dating Sebastian, quite possibly before she even knew him. Same with Paul. I think that black face thing was long before he knew Sebastian. Now, if Sebastian was defending these actions, going around saying "I think it's okay for white women to wear Kimono's" "I think black face is fine" "I think white people should be able to say the n word" then we'd have a different story, wouldn't we? But that's not what we have, and that's not what he is doing. He is not responsible for the things his friends do or have done in the past just because he's more famous than they are, and he is not required to speak on them. Let's put it this way -- would you be comfortable having to be responsible for something a friend of yours did before you knew them? Would you want to have to be forced to answer for your friend when you yourself had nothing to do with the questionable behavior?

The organization that supports the military/blue lives matter - Sebastian cannot control what message that foundation puts out and it does not mean that he is or is not pro-police himself. There is not enough concrete evidence -- if any evidence for that matter -- that Sebastian is a blue lives matter supporter. Did Sebastian donate before they put up the blue lives matter post? Or after? I don’t know, cuz I don’t follow him that closely, but if he donates before they come out with a particular stance, that means he should be held accountable for that? I know I donated to an organization once and they turned out to support something that i’m 100% against. That means I’m a bad person because I couldn’t see into the future? Another point, how can we be certain that Sebastian saw the blue lives matter post in the first place? I know I’m not online 24 hrs a day, I miss posts all the time and I’m just an average person. I make three or four tumblr posts a day, and I’m gone. I have to play catch up on social media, and even then, I still miss stuff. So I’m sure the same happens to a working actor. As for the co-founder, I don't know who this person is and would rather not get into any allegations against them because I don't want to trigger anyone who comes across this post. If Sebastian knows about these allegations, is a willing participant/supporter of this person then yeah, that's pretty shitty, but we don't know the inner workings of this friendship/acquaintance/work relationship. We don’t know how close they are or if they even still speak.

I’m a pretty big fan of Don Cheadle. He’s a stand up guy, he’s a great actor, he’s funny, he’s political and stands up for what he believes in and in a very public way. I support him. Don Cheadle is also friends with Chris Evans, RDJ, Mark Ruffalo, and Letitia Wright (just to name a few). Chris Evans has a bipartisan forum that highlights/promotes right wing politicians, RDJ defended Chris Pratt during the whole “he’s the worst Chris in Hollywood” crap, who’s technically done black face, and who once said to a female reporter “nice tits” when she walked into the room, Mark Ruffalo just walked back his support of Palestine, and Letitia Wright retweeted/supported an anti-vaxxer/anti-trans Pastor who equated an ingredient of the covid vaccine to the devil because it contained some parts of the word Lucifer. Does that mean Don is now a bad person because he’s friends with these people? Why isn’t he getting any heat for his friendships with them? Why isn’t he being held accountable for what they’ve done and said? Oh right, because he’s not a white fave. So people don’t care one way or the other, which brings me to my next point. 

I can guarantee you that if Sebastian’s gf or Paul or this co-founder were not associated with Sebastian in any way, nobody would give a shit about her wearing a kimono, about Paul doing black face, or about the co-founder/organization being blue lives matter supporters and in that lies the actual problem. Being critical of people and their actions should be consistent and should happen all the time -- not just when they interact with your white fave. That’s when it becomes performative and looks like you just want to be able to show internet people that you follow/support/stan unproblematic celebrities, when really, you don’t care.

I think the moral of this post is that I think it's unfair to hold a complete stranger to a standard that I cannot hold myself to. I also don't view celebrities the way most teenagers/twenty somethings do, and that’s because when I entered fandom we didn't have social media, so I grew up with a wall between myself and said celebrities. There is no wall now with the presence of social media. "Fans" nowadays have a weird ownership feeling over celebrities because they can read their personal thoughts or view personal pictures and think that they have this personal quasi-friendship with them. I can't get on board with that. I prefer having the wall and I still keep the wall.

If supporting Sebastian makes you uncomfortable, then by all means, stop supporting him. Just make sure you are making this decision for yourself based on credible sources and concrete evidence and that you're not letting this fake woke activist mob make you feel uncomfortable. Internet activism means nothing unless you put your money where your mouth is in your real life and 90% of the social justice internet warriors do not. Real activism is bigger than changing your avi to a black square.

through the creep vine you both learn about Ethan being in the Village, the father of the stolen child, you can see the expression in Karl's face shift into one of hope, he knows something you don't

when Winters is brought to the church you both play your role of sadistic monsters, giving a "show" for Donna and Moreau, but you have made sure there are useful things "left behind" by previous participants of your little game

with bated breaths, you follow his progress, feeling more and more hope with each Lord he takes down

Heisenberg cheers loudly when Dimitrescu goes down, lifting you off the ground and howling harder when only Moreau remains

He knows that, Ethan won't take it well when he arrives at the factory, so you offer to be the one to welcome him, reminding Karl to keep his cool and be straight with his answers and go to the point

NO THREATENING THE GUESS WITH THROWING HIM TO THE STURM

Ethan is, indeed, shaken up when he comes into the factory and the first thing he sees is you, he saw you at the church, why are you waiting for him?

he's hesitant, which is understandable, but he follows, a hand always hovering over his gun and eyes following your every move

"That boulder punching guy and his people are here, right Ethan?" Karl has his back to the other man "You see...me and Y/N...we need your help"

"My help!? after everything, each and everyone single one of you psychos put through?!"

But Karl is not listening, he starts to tell his story...your story, how Miranda took you both and used you like she's trying to use Rose, but you two were defective, useless, he wants revenge and is willing to do anything to get it

There's desperation in his voice but Winters seems unmoved by it, later you will admit that what you did was manipulative but as long as it works

Both men see you leave and come back with your child in arms, the kid is a bit older than Rose, the gray hair and factions that resemble yours is all that Ethan needs to know, Heisenberg as a child

they are vastly different but, he's like Ethan, he just wants to put his family in a safe place, so he accepts with the promise of "I'll kill you the moment you try to betray me"

Involving and convincing Chris is a lot harder, the man is already pissed at Ethan and now he's besties with 2 of Miranda's underlings? but time is running out and hes desperate for help, and maybe, it could actually work

Chris gives Heisenberg coordinates of where there's gonna be someone waiting for you and the kid, and that you have to be quick in reaching the point or they will leave with out you

of course, you panic! Karl is staying behind and you have to go? you want to kick Chris in the face and make him change his mind, he already has the soldats, why does he need Karl too?!

it's he who has to almost drag you away towards where the Duke is, he knows he has a better chance of getting you there, Miranda won't spare a glance at the merchant

a hefty payment and promises of coming back to you later, you are delivered safely to the team, Karl's trench coat draped over your shoulders and a sack filled with some of your most precious items. feeling like that's the last time you will see him again.

from the helicopter's window, you see with horror how the factory gets destroyed, gasping when Karl's mechanical form appears from the rubble and his army moving to where Miranda must be

the wait is grueling, painful, the sounds of gunfire and explosions make you jump, your crying child screams for their father, but this time, hes not there to calm the not cries and make them laugh

it's past dawn when the bigger explosion shakes the helicopter and when you cry the hardest, believing hes dead, that he die protecting you both.

the entire ride back to the BSAA is spent in silence, your child cried themselves to sleep and you are...just there...heartbroken, unable to shed another tear

a group of paramedics comes to you when you arrive at the new area, asking you questions and trying to check you for any wounds, but you don't answer or hear or care

from far away you see him, limping and using Ethan as a crutch, and then you are running, harder than you have ever done in your life, a strong hold in your baby

Karl looks up to see you and he can't help but smile and cry, open arms waiting for you and catching you, not carrying for his wounds, hes just there and his family is safe...and the 3 of you are free

neither of you put up a fight when the BSAA informs you that you will be under surveillance or that wherever you go you are expected to stay close to their offices, you laugh wholeheartedly when Karl asks "But we can go anywhere...you won't keep us locked away?"

Mia is the one who insists that both families must be close to each other, and you accept

it feels like a dream when Karl comes back and bitches about something that happened in the new lab, he may not be allowed to use corpses but hes allowed to tinker around with his creations and help to contain all bioweapons

you see your child grow and little Rose comes often to play, both children laugh and run around, not knowing what life they could have had

they whisper secrets and share what they have, Mia lights up whenever your kid gives her drawings, Karl melts down a bit when Rosemary calls him "uncle Heis"

and you see him change, he no longer frowns or gets irritated, he giggles or tells jokes, you have caught him develop a true fascination in watching videos and play video games

for once in so long...everything is finally fine

Ok but the parallels between Bucky and all the NWH villains but particularly Norman and Otto though. While yes, Norman and Otto were much more willing participants in the events that led up to them becoming Doc Ock/Green Goblin than Bucky was in becoming the WS, all three men were forced into doing horrible things against their will, and were scared and horrified of what they had done once back in control. AND all three are good, kind people who immediately jump to help to protagonist once in control.

It's odd how both Otto and Norman were treated so well by the script, with no victim blaming (something I am thrilled by, since I love my sad boys and am very happy that they are (mostly) ok) but Bucky was given pretty much the opposite treatment. And I'm not really convinced that it's necessarily because of Sony's involvement in NWH as much as it is having people who actually like the characters as they are writing them.

From what I've gathered from interviews about NWH, everyone involved is big fans of not only the original source material, but also the other Raimi and Amazing Spider-Man movies. They genuinely like the characters they are working with and wanted to right by them. Whereas as we've all talked about, the interviews with Skogland and Spellman are pretty clear in their dislike of Bucky.

I think there's also an issue with Bucky in that I don't think Sebastian is the type of person to try to advocate super hard to have something changed even if he doesn't feel like it fits the character. Don't get me wrong, I love Seb, but I just don't think he's the type of person to really push the writers or directors to change something or to consider putting something specific into the story even if he feels it's right for the character. Meanwhile the NWH villain actors, who also have quite a bit seniority as actors, seem to have been involved much more in the creative process. Willem Dafoe basically told the director from the beginning, before they even had a script, that he wanted to have more to do than just a glorified cameo appearance, and he wanted to do his own stunts (which, damn, kudos to Dafoe for still being able to that sort of action stuff well into his 60s).

Idk, sorry for the essay lol, I just think it's interesting how two similar circumstances for characters but with very different executions ended up looking in the MCU.

I completely agree. NWH comes from a place of such joy and love. It's clear how much the people involved had understood and respected the entire franchise, all the way back to Tobey's story. The entire story was an homage to who "Peter Parker" was, and that defining trait of holding himself responsible even when there's no one else around him.

I feel for Seb, you know. I mean, people are in the acting business for different reasons, but the sense I get from his interviews is that he really enjoys the story-making process, more than being the centre of attention or having cool scenes or having an escape from reality. He seems happy to choose roles that are unconventional, if he believes that story is worth telling, even if the role might be unpleasant or unsavoury or controversial.

Erm, that's just a rambly way of saying that I think Seb has a good read on stories and characters, so he's well aware of the deficits in Bucky's story. Him even saying aloud into a panel "I only heard about it 40 minutes prior" is pretty rebellious (for him), because it paints a pretty clear picture to avid fans of just how little scriptwriters cared about his and Steve's character arcs. This especially coming from someone whose default comment is "I just read out what the writers have written" -- which, as all Bucky fans know, is really unfair to what he (and partly Chris too) has brought to their dynamic.

But...Disney and Hollywood are big machines, you know, and Sebastian doesn't really have a lot of awards or hits to his name, which gives him very little bargaining power. At the moment, Bucky is the role he is best known for, and I think it's a double whammy of his opinion isn't considered important in the Marvel grand plan and him really not having much to use as leverage. I don't know if it's partly cultural as well, but his immense gratitude towards the MCU is more than I might expect from an American-born person.

Also we really don't know how hard he argued for the EG scene because even soft spoken in that panel, he sounded pretty unhappy with the way it was done. This is getting super rambly but it reminds me of the time when Letitia Wright remarked Sebastian hates stupid questions. And since then I've noticed he does get very offish in his answers to weird questions even if he never raises his voice or act abrupt. Together with the TFATWS stuntspeople saying he was surprisingly involved and specific about how he wanted Bucky to physically move -- we fans don't really know enough about his workplace dynamics to say how it went down. I feel like he does get irritated and frustrated with incompetence, and he might have argued harder than we give him credit for, but they'd drawn up their plan and they weren't going to shift around an entire movie for an insignificant side character like Bucky Barnes.
