Cassiopea and Orion #2
Previous Part
A/N: I probably shouldn't be thinking up so many different story lines. But my mind won't let me focuse on something else in peace unless I write these snippets and parts out. So here have another part XD I still have a whole Danny and Bruce backstory conversation in my head that I will probably write out at some point too.
"Really B, another one?" A red helmet wearing guy huffed the moment he spotted her, the little black haired blue eyed girl, sitting on a railing by a huge computer set up Ellie was sure Uncle Tuck would have drooled over.
She blinked at the new arrival before her eyes went over to the man. The one she had told that Phantom lost his haunt. When she had spoken these words the air around the man had changed. Before Ellie even really knew what was happening, the man had turned away from her, talking to the still tense boy before whisking the both of them away to a cave. The place she was now, and one after another more and more of the weirdly dressed people showed up. Each of them appeared to feel the need to comment on something, Ellie heavily believed to be an inside joke.
She let her eyes wander over all the arrivals, her fingers nervously drumming on the metal of the railing she was sitting on. Watching them carefully, despite what Danny had told her, she would bold at the first sight of danger from them. They didn't appear to have any ecto-weapons but that could be false impression. Like the GIW. They had appeared so incompetent only to do a 180 decades later.
"So what is going on? Is B printing adoption papers already?" The red and black one appeared to joke and Ellie tilted her head. There definitely was a insider joke she was not aware of. It would be weird to ask them about it wouldn't it? It would also be rude and tactless. Danny and Aunt Jazz had tried to teach her to not always blurt out every question that pops up in her head. Key words, not always.
"Why would the furry need adoption papers?"
She blinked at how a couple of the people broke out laughing while the kid, who had been watching her like a hawk, was now full on shooting daggers at her. She was pretty sure the kid would have thrown a literal one at her, but something as keeping them from doing so. She heard a grunt, and her eyes went back to the man that had brought her here.
"Not necessary." The man muttered as he turned to face them, clicking a key on the keyboard of the computer, and Ellie blinked as an image of Phantom popped up on screen. The people laughing appeared to quiet down now. "She already has a father."
"Mom." Ellie automatically corrected, shrugging when they looked at her. Before everything had gone to shits and Danny's capture, he had become quiet the mother hen, especially with Dan's and her de-aging. The constant mothering and worry about their well-being had caused Dan to joke that Danny was acting like a mother and she had continued to run with that joke. Even after they had to put Dan into a frozen state under Frostbites care in Far Frozen. The two had silently agreed on that Danny was their mom. The past didn't matter and she would honour their silent sibling agreement.
She didn't elaborate any further and they seemed to get that as they turned back to the man by the computer, putting their attention on that. Though she did noticed that the other kids eyes lingered on her longer.
"This is Phantom. A ghost hero stationed at Amity Park. Code: Rho, one of Cassiopea's dying stars." The man paused, and Ellie swore he had looked at her under his cowl. "And this girl's, Elliza Danielle Phantom Nightingale's, mother. Code: Jupiter, the wandering star."
"How do you know my full name?! Plus, my only recently added ones! They are like only a month old! And what about these weird Codes?" She blurred out wide-eyed, staring at the man in bat costume.
"Even if sparse Phantom and I stayed in contact using these codes." And Ellie narrowed her eyes at him. "Doesn't answer my question."
"Actually, B we would also like to know more." One of the onlookers, that's what Ellie decided they were for now, piped up.
Bat guy grunted, staring them down but not answering. The onlooker in blue sighed but Ellie wasn't giving in. She crossed her arms, keeping her balance by floating slightly on the railing.
"Look, you big bad bee, if you can't tell me that, then how am I supposed to trust you to help me, let alone the rescue of Da- Phantom!"
The onlookers snickered as she held her little staring contest with the big bad bee. Jokes on that guy she had held staring contests with Frighty before and he doesn't even remember how to blink at times.
"Phantom and I correspond about various topics since our teen years." The bat guy finally admitted. "One of which was about... our children."
Ellie blinked several times. Until her eyes widened in realization and she pointed an accusing finger at bat guy. "You're the one that kept calling Danny about parent advice! Like how he got me to go to online school and prevented me from sneaking out or how he handled Dan's anger tantrums!"
"Wait... B went to someone other than Agent A for parent advice?" The red and black onlooker questioned and Ellie shrugged. Danny had always been sort of parenting her since he was 16 and Dan once they learned he was aging lower and then the de-aging happened. She did remember that Danny got his first phone call about parent advice when he was around 24.
Now that Ellie thought about it. That was also around the time he took her aside to tell her about the emergency code.
"Which one of us do you guys think was the cause?"
"Wing."
"Hood."
"Demon Brat."
Ellie blinked once more, her attention turning back to the onlookers as thet started to argue among themselves. She tilted her head, watching them. Looks like she accidentally got them off topic. Though now she really wanted to get the story out of Danny once they rescued him. For years she had caught snippets of Danny's phone calls, to think that the guy on the other end was a armored spandex wearing furry. She couldn't wait to tell Dan about that.
Well, once their mom was saved and her brother stabilized again.

Damian doesn't know who Santa Claus is and Danny tries to gaslight him into believing in Santa
Okay but, like, wouldn't even be gaslighting! Santa canonically does exist in the DC universe, I think I remember reading something about him fighting through an army in hell to give Darkseid a single piece of coal once?
So like, Danny doesn't have to gaslight Damian into believing Santa's real, he just has to pull out the proof (Danny has a binder of everything he knows about the Spirit of Christmas for the purpose of when he eventually goes to war with him, Danny hates Christmas so fucking much haha) and show him evidence that Santa is real.
Probably ranting the entire time about how much he hates the guy & Christmas and it's obvious that this is Danny's arch nemesis. His one true villain above all others. Pariah Dark? A nuisance. Dark Dan? Just a tuesday. Santa? That motherfucker is the bane of Danny's existence and he will pay for what he's done (spread Christmas cheer).
And Danny's the newest member to the family. Damian's been encouraged to get to know his new brother and try and bond with him a bit, make him feel like part of the family. So, obviously, the best way to do that is to help Danny in his quest for vengeance.
And of course Tim & Jason end of getting roped in on this. Damian's grown since he's first came to live with his father. He still is a little brat to his older brothers - he's the baby of the family it's his right - but he doesn't actively hate them anymore and can admit when their particular skills would be useful. Tim is the best at strategizing, and Jason is a combat master with access to all sorts of weapons. With all of them working together Santa has no chance, they will destroy him.
Which all just makes me think of something like this happening lol:
“What…uh, what are they doing?” Duke glanced between the chaos unfolding in the family room to where Dick was calmly seated in his favorite chair, sipping idly at a cup of coffee.
“Sibling bonding.” Dick said. There was that specific aura of calm around him that said that he’d already gone through several crisis and all the stages of grief at least twice. Considering the calamity and chaos the eldest batkid had seen over the years - and especially the last few months since Bruce officially adopted Danny and brought him into the fold - it was a bad sign that he’d reached this particular state of Done (TM) before noon. The earliest Dick even woke up was two in the afternoon.
Duke contemplated turning around right then and there - the particular combination of people all excitedly feeding off each other’s feral energy on the other side of the room was a catastrophe in the making he didn’t want to be anywhere near when it finally breached containment and spilled out into the wider world - but unfortunately he was cursed with the curiosity that afflicted all members of the bat clan.
“It looks like they’re plotting to try and kill Santa Claus.”
Dick turned to look at Duke fully for the first time since he’d entered the room. He had the eyes of one that was deeply haunted by the horrors they had witnessed. On the other side of the room Tim was ranting about anti-magic tech while Danny, Damian and Jason argued over what weapons would be most effective against a demi god. There were schematics of what looked worryingly like a rocket launcher looking device that - if the scribbles on the whiteboard someone had drug into the room where to be believed - was going to be rigged to shoot ecto-grenades.
“Danny hates Christmas.” Dick said, and Duke noticed for the first time that his hands around the coffee cup were faintly trembling. “He’s declared Santa is his arch nemesis.”
Duke blinked, glancing over to the others long enough to see Danny start frantically scribbling the words Christmas Nuke on the whiteboard. No one else was trying to erase it. Tim looked worriedly contemplative. Damian and Jason where both nodding in agreement.
He was going to regret this. “But Santa isn’t real?”
Dick’s eyes gained a faintly manic glean, and Duke could faintly hear the sound of porcelain creaking warningly beneath the desperate hold he had on his coffee cup. “That’s what I thought!” Dick said, with enough cheer to make Duke flinch back instinctively. “But apparently he is.” A distinct crack appeared in the cup, coffee dripping down into Dick’s lap. “And apparently they’re going to war with him!”
Well, Duke considered, at least that explained why he caught the four of them burning down the giant Christmas tree in the city center last night.

tyler laughs at luke as he nearly trips, sitting in the chair in their favorite little diner that only the two of them went to. it officially was a month in of summer and all four hughes siblings were finally reunited after very hectic schedules of hockey practice, games, recording music and concerts.
while the two of them decided to go out for breakfast with each other, everyone else stayed back at the lake house to plan what they would all be doing the days that they would be there.
"was it really a good idea to leave mat at home with our parents and the others?" luke questioned the blonde sitting in front of him as he glanced over the menu placed on the table, both of them already knowing what they would be ordering.
tyler bites her lip as she glances over at her phone laying face down on the table, "not really, but i think he can survive an hour or two without me there to play peacemaker."
"well, i don't think he's a bad guy." the youngest hughes boy shrugged his shoulder, "i mean, the two of you have been together for almost two years. jack can't hold a grudge for too long."
"are you sure about that? 'cause i'm pretty sure he is still pissed off about that stuffed elephant that quinn and i accidentally ripped the trunk off of a whole ten years ago."
"luke! tyler! how are my two favorite people?!" Sally, the owner of the small diner, grins widely at the brother and sister as she walked over to their table, "it's always a pleasure to have the two of you here when you guys come home!"
"hi, sally!" the blonde stands up to wrap the older woman into a hug before sitting back down, "how have you and rodger been?"
"we've been good, sweetheart. we've been keeping track of the two of you and your careers." sally smiles at them, her notepad in her hand, "alright, the same as always? or have you both finally decided to try something other than those pancakes you always get?"
"the same as always, please."
"coming right up, sweethearts! and don't be strangers, come back before you guys get back to your lives and leave this little place." sally tells them before looking down at tyler, "and you, missy, bring that handsome boyfriend of yours around to meet me."
tyler giggles, "i promise."
Tumblr media
"i'm paying, luke!"
"i don't think so. quinn would have my head if i made you pay for both of our food. i'm paying and that's --,"
"excuse me. are you tyler?"
both tyler and luke turn around at the sound of the unfamiliar voice, looking over at the tall man and blonde woman standing behind them with warm smiles on their faces.
"um, that depends on who's asking." the country singer chuckled awkwardly as she looked between the two people she had never seen before, rolling her eyes slightly as luke subconsciously stepped in front of her to hide her from the strangers.
"oh, honey." the lady tilts her head, looking at the blonde with watery eyes as a wobbly smile, "i'm carissa and this is brandon. we're your parents."
Tumblr media
"it was supposed to be a closed adoption. they weren't even supposed to be able to find you." ellen shakes her head as she looks at her eldest child.
tyler and luke had left the diner after the run in with her 'birth parents' and they had come straight back to the lake house instead of doing what else they had left the house to do so that the two could tell their parents what had happened.
jim sighs loudly, crossing his arms over his chest. "how do we even know these are actually her birth parents? they could just be two crazy ass people who looked up the first famous blonde they could try and get money out of. i mean, she's doing well for herself in nashville and besides, it's been twenty-six years since they gave her up. why come looking now?"
"did they at least say what they wanted?" mat sits next to his girlfriend, a hand rubbing soft circles in her back as it was just tyler, her parents, quinn and mat in the kitchen, jack and luke taking everyone else out on the boat to give them some privacy to talk.
"no." tyler shakes her head, "they didn't make it past the 'we're your parents' part. luke pulled me out of the diner before i could ask them what they wanted."
"this is complete bullshit." quinn shakes his head, his jaw clenching in anger just as the doorbell went off, "i'll get it."
"should we call the adoption agency and see how they tracked us down?" ellen looks over at her husband just as quinn comes back in the kitchen.
"how about we ask them ourselves." quinn says, crossing his arms over his chest as the same people from the diner came in behind him.
"what the hell? how did you know where we were staying?"
brandon shrugged, "i'm a private detective. i got some of my people to help me look into it."
"isn't that some kind of violation of the adoption?" mat questioned as his hand moved from tyler's back to her bare thigh.
"and you are?" carissa turns to the islanders player.
"mat." the boy sends her a sarcastic smile, "the boyfriend."
"what is it the two of you want?" jim looks between the couple claiming to be his daughter's birth parents.
"we want to get to know our daughter." carissa smiles warmly as everyone in the kitchen.
"you want to get to know me?" tyler stands up from her seat, making sure to grab her phone as she did.
"yes, sweetheart. we want to know all about you."
"yeah, you want to know what i want?" tyler starts to walk out of the kitchen, "i want a fucking dna test!"
Tumblr media
July 9, 2023
a week had come and gone by time they got the dna test back, and everyone -- including brandon and carissa -- were in the hughes lake house waiting to hear the results.
tyler sat nervously next to her boyfriend, playing with mat's hand out of nervousness which was a habit she's had for as long as she could remember.
"alright, are we ready?" jim holds the envelope tightly in his hand as he looks around the room at everyone.
everyone staying in the lake house nod along with brandon and carissa, all of the boys there for the summer having stayed to be there for tyler as support just like she was for all of them.
"okay." the male lets out a heavy sigh as he opened the large envelope and pulling out the papers, letting his eyes read over the words before he tells everyone what they say.
"well? dad." jack's leg shakes in anticipation as they all look at him.
"well, ty, they are your biological parents." jim tells his eldest child, who instantly crumbles in her boyfriend's arms.
"hey, shh. it's okay, baby." mat rubs her back as she sobs loudly into his chest. "come on, let's go get some air."
the blonde stands up and walks out of the lake house, mat following behind her as everyone sat in a stunned silence.
"what do the two of you want with tyler?" quinn turns to the biological parents of his older sister, a scowl on his face, "hum? the money she makes for herself? a chance to be in her spotlight because she's moving up in the world? what was your exact purpose of hunting her down?"
"quinn." ellen shakes her head at her oldest son
"no, i would love to know the answer to that as well." jim crosses his arms as he looks over at the two adults.
"we just want to be a part of our daughter's life." brandon says, "so that she can get to know her other siblings."
"no." tyler's voice catches their attention as she and mat come back into the lake house, "no, just because a piece of paper says that i'm your daughter, doesn't make that true. "they--," she points between ellen and jim, "--are my mom and dad. and the three of them--," she moves her finger to point to luke, jack and quinn. "--are my brothers."
"tyler--,"
she cuts carissa off, "twenty-six years, i have been waiting for one of you to come looking for me, to acknowledge that i existed. i didn't even have a fucking name when the two of you threw me away like i didn't matter! the two of them named me! they raised me! they put me through school! for twenty-six years, they have been mom and dad! jim taught me how to change my own tires, jim taught me not to let a man bring me down! jim is my dad! ellen, she taught me how to be a strong ass woman on my own! ellen taught me everything i needed to know about being a woman! they taught me what a mother and a father should be like!”
"the two of them put me through school! they were at every cheer event, they were there for every milestone in my life! every band concert, they were there cheering me on! quinn, luke and jack? the three of them let me know every single damn day, how much they love that their mother and father adopted me, even though i'm older than the three of them! quinn, he held my hand when i learned how to ice skate for the very first time! he was there to hold my hand when i thought that the guy i was with before mat was going to be my forever! luke, he's the youngest out of the four of us and he was there to cheer me up when i felt like i was nothing! jack, he's always been there to call me out on my bullshit, but he's also the one that gets into the bullshit with me! they are my brothers! the five of them, are my family!"
"and without them, i would not be where i am today. i would not have the opportunities that i've had without any of them! i wouldn't have all of these amazing, wonderful, caring people in my life if it wasn't for them." tyler blinks as more tears cause her vision to go blurry as she stands next to mat, grabbing his hand.
"i have the life you could only dream about having, and it is because of them! so, no, i'm not your daughter. she died a long time ago. so get the hell out of my lake house and don't come back!."
everyone sits in silence, both brandon and carissa looking at the blonde in disbelief.
"you heard her." quinn stands up to move next to the other side of his sister, "get the hell out and don't come back."
after the two are pulling out of the driveway, tyler is pulled into a hug by her brothers and their parents.
"we're proud of you, tyler noelle." ellen kisses her daughter on the forehead, a warm smile on her face and tears in her eyes.
"so proud." jim wipes her tears away as he kisses her on the top of her head.
"i love you, guys."
"we love you, too."

As promised, part two!
First Chapter:
Part One of this chapter:
————————
So That Just Happened part 2
In the bathroom, Jason turned the hot tap on as high as it’d go and stood over the sink, breathing in the steam. He just… he just needed to clear his head. Get his thoughts straight.
Sleep for the next six fucking weeks and make Pitty someone else’s problem, ideally.
The weight of Frostbite’s gift sat heavy in his pants pocket and he pulled the case out, shaking a single glowing ice chip into his hand. The rising temperature of the bathroom didn’t affect it at all, which didn’t surprise Jason.
He considered putting it under the stream of hot water but didn’t bother.
Frostbite said not to use them too much, or get too dependent on them. On the other hand, fuck today. So much.
He crushed the shard in his hand and shoved the pieces into his mouth. This time it tasted like ozone and limes, and stung the inside of his mouth. In a good way, though.
The rush of energy was the same, and Jason would swear he could feel his frayed edges slowly closing over. Not a real substitute for food or sleep, but sure as hell beat coffee.
He had a couple dozen more ice chips, which he tucked away in the medicine cabinet behind the mirror. The mirror wasn’t supposed to have a cabinet, but it had been easy enough to make one, and so far none of his siblings had found it yet… if they even found this apartment.
(None of them would have been able to resist commenting on the collage he’d made across the back wall of their most “interesting” family photos. Or the little batburger figurines of each of their alter-egos.
Jason had made sure he got the worst ones on the market, and knew their exact positions. If a single one shifted, he’d know.)
It was on the outer edge of Crime Alley, far from the heart his family all expected him to hole up in, and the rest of the building was a completely unremarkable old library which had been abandoned before Jason was born.
Getting himself a well secured home had been easy to slip into the renovation plans; he’d had Bruce “buy” the building through Jason’s funds to start restoring it, keeping it well removed from Red Hood’s name. It was the first project he planned to put his own name on, now that he was officially alive again.
The Catherine Todd Memorial Library.
The building itself wasn’t open yet, the main part of it still being remodelled, but the needle drop off and exchange was already running from the front entrance.
This was home, as much as anywhere ever was. More than anywhere had ever been since Wayne Manor.
Jason tensed against the anger, but nothing rose this time. The ecto-ice had given him a flood of energy, the same almost static clarity, but he still felt drained. Like there was no anger left in him.
It would have been nice if it felt good.
The steam had fogged the mirror now, collecting in the air even against the bathroom’s fan. Shutting the tap off, Jason closed his eyes and sucked in a few more deep, fortifying breaths.
Maybe the ecto-ice had been a mistake. All he wanted to do was fall into bed and sleep, but he wouldn’t be able to for at least a few hours now.
Patrol was out of the question. His body may be revitalized and humming with energy, but his head wasn’t in the game. Even Lady Gotham’s embrace couldn’t pull his scattered thoughts together.
What he needed was some mindless TV, some stupidly indulgent junk food, and a blanket. He’d heard… well, things about the new Sex and the City spinoff. Not exactly good things, but things.
Carrie Bradshaw’s not-problems could be the perfect backdrop to a night in.
Alfred would probably send him cookies if he asked. This being an emergency and all. Although… it wasn’t like they could explain the nature of the emergency without the whole ghost reveal.
… Probably still worth a try though.
His Red Hood phone was still at the safe house he’d slept in, but at least one of his spares for his civilian life should be in the apartment somewhere.
The steam had mostly cleared too, leaving the mirror only slightly foggy around the edges. Jason gave it a careful wipe down out of habit; dots on the mirror didn’t usually bother him, but… he’d put Catherine’s name on the building. He wanted to keep everything in it nice.
(Which was why a lot of stuff was unused.)
It wasn’t until he opened the door that he realized he really hadn’t said anything to Danny before disappearing.
Would he have left? Fuck, that’d be the obvious choice, wouldn’t it? Getting dropped off just inside a stranger’s door, and then they just walk away from you into the bathroom.
Shit, Danny had probably left. That… Jason didn’t know how to feel about that, and the empty hall only confirmed his suspicions.
On the one hand, he really wasn’t up to more talking. He didn’t even want to think about everything that had happened today, and especially not whatever the hell was lose in his city, trying to feed his rage. He couldn’t handle one more gentle reassurance that it was okay to be angry.
On the other hand, he really, really didn’t want to be alone. The noise from the TV and the snacks would cut it in a pinch, but the only thing he actually wanted right now was company. Quiet, nonjudgemental company.
He hadn’t told any of the bats about this safe house. Not even Bruce’s contractors knew he’d snuck it in. He’d wanted it to be safe from them and from everyone else, and now he could keep his fucking secrets at the cost of being alone.
A little heavy handed as a metaphor.
… Fuck, Alfred couldn’t even bring him cookies without knowing where he was.
He turned away from the hall and made for the bedroom to grab the spare phone, though he wasn’t sure who he’d message anymore. Just as he was debating the merits of messaging Cass and getting her to do him a delivery, a noise from the kitchen caught his attention. Hope rose, slowly and uncertainly. Had Danny not left?
… Why was Danny in his kitchen, when he was a self professed fire hazard?
Caution and concern flaring right alongside that hope, Jason backtracked and hurried to the kitchen.
**
There were not enough dirty dishes.
There was like, a mug, a coffee pot, and two plates. Really, Danny should have been done in minutes and fidgeting for something else to do.
But then he’d been looking for where to put the plates away, and he’d found a really impressive spice cabinet. Right next to the stovetop, made sense he guessed, though personally he preferred to keep the damn plates where they’d be used.
He’d perused a couple of labels on the little jars, mildly amused by how many he absolutely could not even guess at. What the fuck was “marjoram”? Or “zataar”?
So the logical thing to do had been open the jars for a sniff.
All well and good. He didn’t recognize most of the smells either, and couldn’t imagine why you’d put almost half of them in any kind of food, but some of them smelled really good.
But then he’d found the garlic powder.
Danny did not cook, as a rule. Sam cooked, mostly from spite, and she always used fresh smashed garlic. Danny’s youtuber chefs mostly said the jarred chopped stuff was fine, but what the fuck was garlic powder?
And what garlic powder was, was pungent. Really, really strongly scented, and super light. Just opening the jar had puffed up a cloud of the stuff, and Danny had been about to sniff it anyway and took a bigger huff than he intended.
And then he’d sneezed.
And now Jason’s entire kitchen was dusted in garlic powder, including the dishes he’d just washed and left on the counter while he found their homes.
So Danny panicked.
Trying to dust the garlic powder off the counters with his hands only got more of it into the air, and he wasn’t falling for that fucking trap again, no sir. He went ghost again and stopped fucking breathing is what he did, then grabbed a garlic covered towel and tried to wipe the powder into a pile.
No dice.
But Danny was a professional superhero. He calmed himself down. He stopped panicking. He went looking for a dustpan and brush like a sensible adult.
And then he heard the bathroom door open, froze like a deer in the headlights, and reflexively jerked straight off the floor.
Because right, he had fucking ghost powers.
At least he already hadn’t been breathing. Luckily, Jason seemed to need something from the other side of the apartment since his footsteps pretty much immediately moved away, and Danny let out another relieved breath.
He could still fix this. This would be fine. He could telekinetically pick up all the garlic dust, and throw it in the trash because a lot was on the floor and the rest was on him and also Every Other Surface On Earth, and buy Jason more tomorrow.
Before Jason came back from wherever else he was going and realized Danny was a fucking menace. Focusing hard, Danny let his aura suffuse the room and focused on the garlic powder. Willed it to lift off whatever it was touching, and come towards him.
Of course, some of it was now on the clean dishes, and in the mug. Which fell over as Danny pulled its powder coating away.
Jason’s footsteps immediately stopped. And then began hurrying towards him.
And maybe Danny panicked again, just a tiny bit, but the good news was he did not ice over the whole kitchen! He’d grown so much since Ghost Puberty Part 2 Electric Boogaloo! He was totally in control!
He just iced the dishes to the counter and froze the floating garlic powder, which was why Jason appeared in the doorway to see Danny floating like a fucking dumbass in the middle of his kitchen, surrounded by sparkling ice crystals.
Danny raised both hands immediately.
“I can explain.”
**
So the thing about Spiderheck. The really big pain in the ass thing. Was that every round was super unpredictable, even when you weren’t playing with superheroes trying to adapt their actual abilities to spider bodies.
There really was no way to know what would be a long or short round.
Tucker had tried a couple more times to “fall” early on, only to be promptly followed by one or both of his fellow competitors.
The good news was, they were at least all tied up for now, so he’d gotten more time without anyone asking questions. The bad news was, it was match point. Whoever took this next one, if they didn’t all tie, it would be time for another set.
Aaaaand Conner and Tim were still having fun, and insisted they were just warming up, but Tucker was sweating anyway. He didn’t even know spiders could sweat.
Ancients, had he actually fucked up using his powers for the first time in years when he was trying to show off for Red Robin and Superboy?
He was going to look like a fucking newb. An absolute amateur.
And that was assuming that no one had come looking for them and noticed the empty room and still going game on the TV. Would Batman think he’d kidnapped Red Robin?
Who was Tucker kidding, he totally would. Bruce was paranoid as hell, and while he mostly seemed to be aiming it at Danny, that was probably because he hadn’t realized Tucker was liminal. Did the GIW even know about liminals? There probably wasn’t much documentation for him to freak himself out about with.
Of course, in this case he wouldn’t be wrong. Tim would be trapped. It’d just be because Tucker was a dumbass, not a malicious force. At least Tim and Conner would almost definitely believe him.
Aaaand he’d never live it down. It was only a matter of time before they both noticed he wasn’t really trying to win anymore too. He’d kept up, but that was mostly by accident. He just had a lot of practice being inside the game levels.
A lot of them could kill all the players on their own, no PVP required.
He felt like an absolute caveman when the answer finally came to him, and it wasn’t even his own idea.
Because the last level had been one of those “kill all the players” levels, and all three of them had managed to be thrown into lava close enough that the computer didn’t count a winner.
Tim and Conner groaned loudly before bursting out laughing, because of course that was what happened at their dramatic finale, and then as they’d spawned in again Tim turned to Tucker.
“Hey, can you pause before we get into this one? I just wanna catch my breath a second.”
Which, for a nanosecond, felt like the absolute end of the world, because he didn’t have his controller buttons. Because he was a dumbass.
Luckily, it also snapped him back to his senses, and reminded him of the very first time he’d put Sam and Danny into a game with him. They’d made the same mistake, not leaving anyone their actual console controls, and Danny had begun trying to actually physically break them out before Tucker worked it out.
They were his fucking powers. He could always pause them, whatever they were doing; all he had to do was close his eyes and blank out for like, a minute.
He’d been collapsing in despair that first time, and Sam had kicked him over, sat on him, and demanded he take a nap, and then they were all back in their bodies like nothing had happened.
Keeping them inside the game was the part that was difficult; it was an act of focus, and sure it felt automatic at this point because he did this all the time now, but it was still something he had to actively do. Sure, technically, he wouldn’t be controlling the game from the inside, but they’d be back in their fucking bodies in the real world.
Where the actual console controls were. And then he could reload them in, and not forget his overrides this time, and everything would be fine.
Luckily, while his brain was techno-linked, he was processing in computer-time, not people-time. There was barely a pause after Tim asked the question and the answer came, tension leaving his body so quickly he almost sagged.
He even sounded a little giddily relieved to his own ears as he answered, laughing and already shutting his eyes.
“Well, kinda. Let me just pop us back out, we should probably check the time too. Hang on.”
Luckily, this stage did not seem to have any instant death traps. Tim and Conner fucked around with the crates and the platforms for a couple of seconds while Tucker reached inside, deliberately pulling his disconnect instead of waiting, and then they were all back on the couch, controllers in hand.
He’d never been so happy to see his own hands. Or the Start button, which he promptly hit to pause all three spiders before Tim and Conner’s could swing to their deaths. Even if that would give him the win.
Tim and Conner shifted beside him, getting used to their bodies again. Tucker took the lead there, setting his controller down and stretching his arms up behind his head, the phantom sensations of extra limbs already beginning to fade.
“It stops feeling weird pretty fast, but it helps if you move around,” he explained brightly, still high on that buzz of relief.
Conner made a noise of agreement, standing and stretching his arms over his head, which made his shirt ride up. Tucker had the good sense to turn away quickly, before he got hypnotized.
Not quickly enough that Tim didn’t notice, but Tim Drake-Wayne remained the very coolest person on planet Earth and didn’t say anything. He just grinned knowingly at Tucker and rolled his shoulders, stretching out his neck.
“Okay, that was really cool. Not even a little bit the same, but really cool.”
Tucker grinned back, sheepish but still just happy he didn’t get caught.
“Yeah, there’s always the skill barrier where you can’t do the button combos, but I still feel like it helps? Y’know, understanding how the characters move and stuff.”
“I’m just glad you picked up the TTK that fast,” Conner cut in with a laugh, now bending down to touch his toes, blessedly while facing them.
Tucker swelled with pride.
“I mean, it wasn’t all that complicated. You explained it really well,” he said totally calmly, totally cool, definitely not fawning over the actual demigod in the room.
He didn’t exactly get why Conner shot Tim an entirely triumphant grin or why Tim rolled his eyes, but he wasn’t gonna worry about that. Tonight, he was batting a thousand.
He’d be tired getting back to class tomorrow, and he couldn’t exactly tell his classmates he’d been hanging out with Tim Drake-Wayne and being carried home by actual Superboy, but this was still the best week of his life. And Tim had already been talking about getting him an internship.
His life really could not be finer.
**
Jason took the mess well. Probably because Danny had a) already been working on it and b) panicked like a startled duckling and explained at a mile a minute, getting the order of events completely wrong at least twice.
Having the garlic powder iced over definitely helped the cleanup too. Jason grabbed a garbage bag, Danny floated what was in the air in, and they both took damp cloths to hunt down any stray garlic powder hiding in crevices.
Danny rewashed the dishes, but Jason dried them with a fresh towel and showed him where everything was. All in all, it was a blissfully domestic moment after a genuinely fucked day.
He could feel an unasked question waiting on the back of Jason’s tongue while they cleaned up, the shape of anticipation and something that wasn’t exactly fear, or even anxiety, just a low grade avoidance. Danny didn’t push it.
That seemed like the right answer too, because when they’d finished and stared at each other awkwardly for a long moment, Jason sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Look, I know you’ve got school tomorrow. If you’ve gotta head out…” he trailed off, resigned-tired filling his aura.
Danny raised both hands to cut him off.
“Hey. I can fly across this city in like, fifteen minutes. It’s not even half eleven yet, so if you want some company I’ve got nowhere else to be. We can talk about whatever, play some more MarioKart, or I can just make you some cocoa and go if you need space?”
Jason didn’t physically sag with relief, but that was probably because he’d already been holding himself carefully to hide the tension. Didn’t matter, because everything else about him screamed it as he raised an eyebrow at Danny, glancing around his kitchen.
“I’m not leaving you alone in here again until you’re Alfred-certified,” he declared sarcastically, and Danny grinned back.
“Ah, so never again. Good to know. It’s probably for the best, I’m a lousy cook for anything I don’t have to wrestle to the ground.” Not that he was any better at cooking it after he’d won the fight; he was just pretty good at the fighting part.
Jason’s eyebrow twitched and then he chuckled, shaking his head and pointing out of the kitchen.
“Tell you what, I’ll make you some cocoa while you go turn the TV on. Remote’s on the end table.”
That sounded like an invitation to stay to Danny! So he hadn’t totally fucked by not booking it out of Jason’s haunt at top speed; good to know.
And maybe he did physically sag with relief a little, because expressing your emotions was cool actually and everyone should totally be doing it more. And it was more fun in ghost form; he actually sunk til his feet almost touched the ground.
Didn’t go all the way when he remembered he was still in his boots. Jason’s other apartments had been pretty well lived in although still generally tidy, but this one was almost pristine. Whether it was new or he was just more careful here, Danny could take a hint.
He gestured quickly at his body while Jason pulled a cartoon of milk from the giant, gleaming blue-black fridge that looked mostly empty.
“Sure, uh… mind if I change?”
Jason blinked, which was fair since Danny had been a ghost for the past couple hours, then nodded.
“Not at all. There’s also some sweatpants and stuff in the bedroom if you wanna get more comfortable, but I don’t have as much of Tim or Dick’s stuff here so you might be stuck in mine,” he added a little shyly, and Danny’s grin widened as he remembered his new favourite shirt.
“You have five minutes to hide any other great soup shirts before I take you up on that,” he teased and Jason grinned back.
“Nah, go for it. I’ll only be a little longer than that with the cocoa though, so don’t do too much snooping around.” It didn’t sound like an actual warning, but he’d also already turned back to what he was doing… which already looked way too complicated.
He had a saucepan for crying out loud. Like Danny couldn’t see the electric kettle and fancy coffee machine. Tempted to stick around to watch just for curiosity, Danny floated back to the front door to change back and drop off his shoes and coat instead.
And hesitated.
Jason had given him permission to go to the bedroom. Change out of his jeans and jacket. He didn’t actually need to; the jeans were pretty comfy, well worn in, but they did have some built up salt, slush, and yuck from walking and driving around Gotham’s streets around the ends.
It was possible the suggestion had been more for the sake of Jason’s couch than Danny’s comfort.
He could just go intangible and let the dirt fall through, but that’d leave a pile which while technically being more contained would still be more mess. And sometimes it was hard to tell what was dirt and what was pants, since they weren’t exactly “his” either way.
He could just do laundry when he got home.
Luckily the bedroom door was open, so Danny didn’t have to poke into any of the other doors from the hall. Just like at his other apartment, there was indeed a separate set of six drawers with Jason’s siblings name on each drawer.
Well, “Dickhead”, “Timbo”, “The Purple One”, “Cass”, “Demon Brat”, and “Best Sibling”. Snickering to himself, Danny considered taking a picture. Or asking Duke what he’d done to be “Best Sibling”.
Unlike the other apartment, each drawer was mostly empty though. Just a pair of sweatpants about the right size, a hoodie, and a shirt that Jason had definitely assigned rather than getting one of theirs. Although Danny didn’t doubt Dick would own a Nightwing hoodie in the least.
The My Little Pony shirt for Damian was… well, Danny didn’t know him well enough to say.
With the clothes that might actually fit located (and honestly Cass’s were probably actually his best bet), Danny snooped through a couple other drawers to see if Jason did have any other fun shirts to steal.
There was actually depressingly little; Jason had plenty of clothes here, just like the other apartments, but all of them were… respectable. Plain. Block colours, simple patterns, normal people clothing.
Danny was just about to give up when he popped open the bottom drawer and stared in awe.
Jason’s regular wardrobe (from Danny’s admittedly limited experience) was kinda basic; plain shirt, sexy jacket, plain pants. Extra sweaters given the weather, but he did also have a pretty good collection of graphic tees with various swearwords usually featured boldly.
Where what had to be the complete collection of every Wonder Woman shirt ever made fit in, Danny wasn’t going to try and guess, but he knew good taste when he saw it.
Unfortunately, if he stole one of those, Jason was probably gonna want it back. Most of them were clearly worn, and just as clearly carefully cleaned to keep them nice. Danny wasn’t good at keeping things nice.
Somewhat reluctantly, he shuffled back to the siblings’ dresser and stole Cass’s hot pink paw print sweats, Steph’s 1000% bootlegged Sex In The City misprint shirt with the purple sparkle dildos painted over the girls, and the Nightwing hoodie. Never let it be said he could put together an outfit.
Fingering the shirt, he made his way back out and to the open plan lounge, his own clothes tossed carefully onto his shoes by the door. Jason had told him to put the TV on… and the worst he could do was say no.
Pulling up the streaming services, Danny went looking for And Just Like That. Mostly for curiosity’s sake, to be honest. He could probably sneak a trailer before Jason got back, just as a sample.
As if summoned by his thoughts, Jason appeared just as Danny found the right service, two steaming mugs of incredible smelling cocoa topped with a mass of whipped cream in his hands and a large bowl of popcorn, skittles, and smarties in his other arm.
Danny couldn’t even complain about not getting to have nice things, because if that wasn’t the epitome of a fantasy walking into the room he didn’t know what was. Hitting pause quickly, he hopped up to take the bowl for purely altruistic reasons.
Definitely not for an early handful, no matter how Jason raised his eyebrows at him. The handful was Danny’s reward for being a good citizen.
“Hey, that smells fantastic! Your family is gonna ruin me for shitty cafe hot chocolate,” he teased through a mouthful of candy.
Jason rolled his eyes but smiled, switching both mugs to one hand to set a trio of coasters on the coffee table. Danny reluctantly relinquished the bowl to the third if only to grab his cocoa and take a sip as Jason sniffed.
“Hot chocolate is to cocoa what instant coffee is to fresh,” he said snootily, like those were words that meant anything. Danny just stared at him, whipped cream on his nose purely for comedic effect.
Until Jason leaned in and wiped it away with his thumb, and Danny’s brain shut down. Unfortunate, since Jason started talking.
“So, uh… you a Sex and the City fan?”
“Huh?” Danny kept staring, pretty sure words had meanings until Jason jerked his thumb in the direction of the TV (which was huge and gorgeous because of course it was. This was the rich son of a bitch apartment Danny would expect of… okay, not a Wayne, it was still way below that level of fancy, but at least someone making a good chunk of change).
Then he shook himself out of it, grinning.
“Oh! No, never seen any.”
Jason cocked his head, eyebrow raised again.
“Then why…”
Danny shrugged, settling himself comfortably back into the couch. He was going to sound like a crazy person anyway, he might as well be comfortable.
“I listen to The Worst Idea Of All Time on my way to classes. And when I’m welding. It’s a couple of guys from New Zealand who watched Sex and the City 2 every week for a year, and a bunch of other stuff. Like, uh… Grown Ups 2, We Are Your Friends, oh and the first Sex and the City movie.”
And, sure enough, Jason looked appropriately baffled.
“What, all at once?”
“Nah, different years. They never did the actual show, but they’re doing commentary on all of the episodes of And Just Like That now that they’re out since they did both movies, which were after the show. Why, did you watch the actual show?”
Jason nodded slowly, and Danny snickered.
“The show’s not canon for the Worst Idea boys. Brady the Rat King is though.” And yeah, he probably could be explaining this more like a sane and reasonable person, but that just made the podcast sound worse.
This time it was Jason who raised both hands, even relinquishing his cocoa to do it.
“There are too many questions, so I’m just gonna start with “why?”” He was already smiling though, so Danny was going to take that as a good sign.
He shrugged cheerfully.
“Schadenfreude is the leading theory from the boys, and to be fair it is fun watching them suffer through the worst movies they can find. They’re both professional comedians though so it is actually really funny, and they’re really positive. Every watch has to have a shining light, which is something you actually liked about the movie that week. I did that with one of my lecturers last semester, a real blowhard, and it helped. Mostly it’s just the aural equivalent of comfort food; nothing challenging, no thought required, just two good soft boys making up crazy stories about movies every week.”
Jason was actually listening, pursing his lips as he considered what Danny was saying. Privately, Danny suspected having actually watched Sex and the City might work against him… although he might have been dead when at least one of the movies came out.
Finally, Jason sighed.
“So you’ve just watched the movies, and none of the show?” He asked, in a tone which told Danny exactly what he thought of the movies. So he might like the podcast after all.
Danny grinned and grabbed another handful of popcorn.
“Nah. They actively discourage us from watching them, even when they do directors commentary. And Just Like That isn’t getting the full season treatment though, so I kinda wanted to take a look just to see the outfits.” A stroke of inspiration struck him, and Danny dropped some of the popcorn into his cocoa.
Getting it back out again was not as easy as he’d have liked, but he got two pieces that were heavenly and was content to let the third wallow under the whipped cream where it had retreated.
Jason totally was not laughing at him, because he was a gentleman. It was the brilliance of Danny’s answers that had him smiling like that, for sure. And when he was sure he had Danny’s attention again, he pointed at him.
“Okay, we’ll watch And Just Like That tonight. But you have to come over and watch the original series at some point too,” he added quickly.
Danny pouted but considered it. He didn’t even know how many seasons there had been. Time for a counter offer.
“Only if you try the podcast.” Which was a totally reasonable offer and absolutely no reason for Jason to make that face as he nodded.
“Fine. I’ll give it a shot on my way to work. Happy?”
“Deeeeee-lighted,” Danny cackled, holding out a hand to shake. Which Jason obligingly shook, then nodded to the couch.
“No spoilers, okay? Unless there’s good hats. I’m just going to run and change.”
He even came back bearing a fuzzy throw from the end of the bed, which he dropped on Danny’s head and imperilled his precious cocoa. It was mostly empty by then though, and then Jason even refilled it for him, so Danny graciously gave him a royal pardon.
Jason graciously told him to shove it up his ass and settled in, and Danny swiped the remote for his impertinence. Long day now finally behind them, it was looking to be a much better night.
**
Taking a quick glance at both his League communicator and both of his phones, Bruce dismissed about thirty messages from Harley. He might have liked to talk to her earlier, and probably would actually message her back to talk later.
It had only been for a matter of minutes, but even a second of believing that Jason had died again… no. He knew he hadn’t handled it well. If he actually slept tonight, he had no doubt it would be even worse than usual, and plagued by nightmares.
Fortunately for him, he had a new case to distract himself with… or rather, a new direction for his existing case.
Diana was right; she usually was, in matters of the heart. He had to trust Jason, and trust that Jason knew what he was doing with this business in the Infinite Realms.
A year ago, Jason likely wouldn’t even have involved Bruce in the conversation, if it happened at all; he’d have dropped the evidence on Dick or Duke, or just gone around trying to blow up a rogue government agency on his own. That he had brought this to Bruce showed a lot of progress in their relationship. It gave him a reason to hope.
He would have to try and reward the trust Jason had shown in him, rather than punishing it. A proper apology, just between them… if Jason would speak to him.
A few days to give Jason time to calm down would probably help. And, if he was truthful, for Bruce to put his concerns to bed.
He may have been… hasty in leaping to conclusions about Danny Fenton. It wasn’t like him to become so entrenched in an opinion without checking it from at least a dozen more angles; the Mansons and Vlad Masters could only know so much.
Diana had been right again; he had to get to know Danny, to put his fears to rest. He trusted…
Okay. When it came down to it, he didn’t exactly trust his children not to lie to him about the dangers of a potential friend. There’d been one too many secrets-turned-disasters. But he could trust them to fact check and rat each other out if they truly believed their siblings were making a serious mistake.
For the joy of an “I told you so”, if nothing else.
Cass’s first impressions in her debrief had been illuminating. A little more discussion with her and perhaps Steph, their views were often varied enough that between them a very comprehensive picture could be built.
Talking to Danny himself again… Bruce knew himself well enough to know that wasn’t a good idea yet. It would have to happen eventually; he suspected he also owed Danny an apology for his behaviour, although no one else had mentioned it. Which was perhaps another sign of how badly he’d failed Jason.
No, he had to level his opinions on Danny first, make sure he could keep a clear head. Returning to the cave, he made his way directly to the batcomputer and sank into its familiar embrace.
Tim likely hadn’t had time to make the updates that would allow them to read through Amity Park’s data directly, but Tucker Foley had provided them with a respectable amount of downloaded data. Bruce could begin his researches there, and make some travel arrangements as well.
If he couldn’t get into Amity Park digitally, physically would have to do. Likely as Brucie Wayne rather than Batman, although repairing the town’s relationship to the Justice League was a worthy goal while he was there. And while people wouldn’t be as open to giving him information about Danny face to face, he could pick up some native tech and make his own adjustments. That should let him get past their unique protections.
And a better look at these ghosts, and an understanding of what exactly the Justice League Dark were so concerned about.
Hands pausing on the keys for a moment, Bruce briefly considered messaging Constantine again, or Zatanna. He should at least inform them that he was planning to go to Amity Park in person.
After a moment’s consideration, he sent a brief message to Zatanna. As unprofessional as it might be, Bruce knew himself well enough to know he just wasn’t up to spending any more time with Constantine at the moment.
Zatanna could brief him on any necessary etiquette just as well, with far less dramatics. A little space between himself and Constantine could only help as well. Honestly, a few days away from Gotham and all of his current headaches could only be a good thing.
Harley might even be proud of him.

So here we have it! Also, by the way, that nexus thing is actually canon in the DC multiverse, and it is so much fun

Negai No Astro questions that will (hopefully) get answered as the story progresses:
- where do each of the adoptive siblings come from?
- why stop at 13 kids when clearly you don't care about having one more? (The answer to this one could be Wakui wanting to make sure they all had a distinct design and personality each, that's the one I'm getting anyway)
- was Hibaru born before or after Shio got adopted?
- is Hibaru's mom still around and if not (likely), did she die before Kongo started to massively adopt kids left and right?
- how do they all live being adopted? Which are the ones seeing themselves as worthy of their place in the family and those who don't – which ones feel as if they weren't part of the family, if there's any?
- who are the two missing siblings from chapter one and why weren't they there?
- what are the dynamics like? Which siblings are closer to which? Are they even that close? Did they all succeed to form 'diamond bonds' or do some of them have tensed relationships? Are there siblings which were close at some point until an event made them drift apart?
- How do they all feel about their biological family? Do they remember them?
- Which ones already knew each other before getting adopted? How did they meet, why did it happen?
- How did Kongo started to think about adopting (especially in Japan where it happens very rarely, even less in the past)?
- Was Kongo really a good father?
- Where is Ginji and will he come back in the story? What important information does he know of? Will he help?
- How many characters are we going to get attached to only to cry our eyes out when they die?
- Will attempted and successful fratricides happen?

IMAGINE BEING YAN!NAVIER ELLIE TROVI’S+YAN!KOSAIR LILDER TROVI’S YOUNGER SISTER AND HAVING OTHER PEOPLE BEING YANDERE FOR YOU(p!yan!tre hc’s)
Tumblr media
-Let’s say you’re in your teens for this, like 13-17 years old.
-As the youngest child and second girl in the house of Trovi, you were pampered and spoiled all your childhood, both by your parents and elder siblings.
-Every hobby, skill and talent you were interested in and wanted to learn, your family always supported you. Art? Here’s your personal art studio. Gardening? they’ve built you a personal greenhouse.
-Whenever you and Navier had to go to banquets/parties/tea parties that were  for women only, Kosair would always sulk and hug you tightly before you and your older sister drove off.
-But every single moment where you had free time from hobbies and studying, they were always taken up by your eldest siblings, Navier and Kosair, They always babied you and treated you like a beautiful item made out of glass.
-Navier didn’t mind you having friends or acquaintances, just don’t spend more time with them than your sister, then she’ll be jealous and try to gasligt you into thinking that your friends aren’t genuine with  your friendship and are just using you, but could you blame her? she already has almost to none time to even spend time with you because she was hand-picked to be the next empress.
-Speaking of next empress, since Navier is childhood friends with Sovieshu, the crown prince, you were bound to be acquainted with him.
-Even if the emperor didn’t originally pick Navier as the empress, Sovieshu would’ve still married her because that would’ve made you his sister-in-law. if only you weren’t a noble and just a commoner, then he would’ve forcefully taken you and demanded that his father adopt you
-The emperor chose Navier as the wife of Sovieshu, not only because she is the perfect candidate as previous women of the Trovi family were empress’, but because he wanted you as an in-law.
-But now since you were appearing more in aristocratic society, marriage requests were bound to appear, but the news never reached neither your and your parents' ears as your brother, Kosair, always burned them once they appeared. No one could marry his beloved youngest sister without his approval, not like anyone is even good enough for you in his eyes.
-While your eldest sister, now crown princess, prepared for being the next empress, you decided to take up on the job of raising your and your family's status more by participating in banquets and tea parties, but not too much as you were still studying and doing your hobbies.
-Fast forward towards the marriage between Navier and Sovieshu, your beloved older sister made you the Mistress of the Robes, now being the closest person to the now-empress in the palace. Your responsibility was the empress’ clothes and jewellery, arranging the rotation of attendance of the ladies in waiting on the empress, along with various duties at state ceremonies. Navier always trusted your decision on her clothing as you grew up with her and knowing her taste in things. At the end of each day, since Lady-In-Waitings, Ladies of the Chambers, and Mistresses of the Robes don’t get paid, Navier gifts you expensive jewellery as thanks.
-Kosair now frequently writes you letters saying how much he and your parents miss you, any new things that happened and always sends gifts whenever he sends the letters. You sometimes worry if he’s using a lifetime worth of money spending them, because he once sent you a necklace you looked at one time that was extrememly expensive.
-Whenever Kosair visited the palace, he would always run straight to your chambers to meet and hug you, then the both of you talk for a few minutes before going to meet Navier again.
-Your bedroom that you now reside in is practically as big as a two-story house with your own personal kitchen and hobby room.
-(if you can cook) Navier refuses to eat anything that isn’t your cooking in the palace, so you always wake up at like 4 in the morning to get ready, put down the clothing that the empress is going to wear, wake up the lady in waiting’s so that they could attend to the empress while you prepare Navier’s food.
-As you’re now not only Sovieshu’s sister-in-law but live in the palace, he sometimes invites you in his office to talk about anything, sometimes the both of you invite Navier to hang out in the imperial garden to have tea.
-Due to the unexpected and abrupt appearance of another woman who was made into a concubine in the palace, Sovieshu asked you to be the temporary lady-in-waiting for the woman, Rashta.
-When Navier and Sovieshu tried for having a child and he accused Navier of being infertile, you comforted your older sister in every way you know of, be it words of affirmation, hugging her, taking her on walks in the garden, taking her to theatres. And when he brought home a woman he found with unknown origin? All hell broke loose, even rumors that the emperor is going to divorce the empress started appearing.
-When Navier was informed of this, she was furious. Not only was she accused of being infertile, her husband found and took in an unknown woman as a concubine, but he made HER sister and mistress of the robes the temporary lady-in-waiting for Rashta?! She would rather lose her title as empress than let some woman take her beloved younger sister.
-Unexpectedly for everyone, within a week, you and Rashta became close because of her childlike personality and curiosity towards things that nobles do. As you decided to be her guide to the world of aristocracy, you were happy to explain everything she asked about.
-Sovieshu is both thankful and grateful that you accepted being Rashta’s temporary lady-in-waiting and explained the way aristocrats act, do, and mean. Thankfully, he already found some women that agreed to become Rashta’s lady in waiting’s, so your job will go back to being just Navier’s Mistress of the Robes.
-While being on duty when you were Rashta’s temporary lady-in-waiting, you met duke Ergi multiple times in the palace and both outside the palace. You heard about him from other women in tea parties from before you worked at the palace, he was known for being a flirt and womaniser, women who would link him always faced misfortune. So whenever you met him, you always were curt and to the point so you could leave the conversation and area as soon as possible whenever the both of you were outside. It was more complicated when it was inside the palace, though.
-Whenever he’s in Rashta’s room he doesn’t ask you to bring him things, but another worker, whenever Rashta is about to ask you to bring him tea, he refuses. He’s in the hallways and you’re off duty from being Rashta’s lady-in-waiting? He always asks you to show him around the palace and hangout with him.
-It’s gone to such an extent that it’s shocking that whenever Ergi is around and you’re off duty, you’re not with him.
-Your meeting with Heinrey and Mckenna in simple words was: shocking and embarrassing.
-You were simply taking a walk in the imperial garden during the evening as you were off duty and trying to hide from Ergi and in your evening dress holding the thick cloth that was wrapped around your back with the ends being on your arms(y’know like the cloth that women would wrap around themselves with?), when you noticed a big golden bird flying into a fountain before hearing a poof!, then seeing a naked man standing in the fountain, the same place the bird landed in.
“What the fuck.” you stated. Unfortunately, your question-turned-statement alerted the man that heard what you said and looked in your direction, freezing for a few seconds before hiding his private parts. You took your cloth that your sister gave you, big enough to cover a grown man and threw it at the blond, then covering your eyes while hearing a pair of feet running to the direction you and the man were in.
“Are you covered now, sir? Because I think it should be time where I talk about what I saw, and it’s not nice.” you asked while standing in place.
“Oh, yes, you may look now.” The man said, embarrassed.
you sighed, putting your hands away from your face and looking at the faces of the men in front of you. The one that was covered in your cloth was tall and slim with champagne colored hair, the other was somewhat shorter yet still tall, with long blue hair styled in a ponytail. The man who turned into the bird was easy to recognize, the second prince of the Western Empire, Heinrey Alles Lezlo.
“Who are you, and what are you doing in the garden of emperor Soveishu Vict’s palace? Are you the concubine he brought in?” The shorter one asked.
“You must be from another empire if you don’t know me.” you stated before bowing ”my name is name middle-name Trovi, youngest daughter of house of Trovi and the empress’ Mistress of the Robes. May I know why the second prince of the Western Empire, Heinrey Alles Lezlo, is in the imperial palace?”
-When Mckenna explained that Heinrey wants to court the empress because Sovieshu is trying to divorce Navier and marry Rashta because Navier is assumed to be infertile, you decided to help him, as he explained why he loves Navier and what he likes about her.
-Because of your resemblance and closeness to Navier, Heinrey slowly becomes not only practically obsessed with Navier, but you too. You’re off duty? Great! Heinrey wanted to show you something that he found in the library! You’re preparing food for Navier? Let him help!
-With how much you praise and talk about Heinrey, Navier at first started thinking that you liked the man you were talking about and started getting pettily jealous. “Did Heinrey also read ‘Miss Ambrose and I’?”
-Although the idea was shattered when you started bringing up that Heinrey would have be an amazing brother-in-law if Navier didn’t marry Sovieshu. Then navier thought about it, since she’s going to get divorced anyways with the emperor, she might as well meet the man she’s always talking about, and since her dearest younger sister’s judgement is never wrong in her eyes, she could marry him to make her younger sister happy!
-And so the time of the divorce has started. Sovieshu and Rashta thought that everything would go smoothly, with you staying in the palace and being Rashta’s Mistress of the Robes when Navier will get divorced. But unfortunately for them, Navier decided to remarry the man you were talking about, Heinrey alles Lezlo, and you supported them.

Chapter Ten: Surprise, Surprise
Alhaitham has the looks and the smarts. He will also be the stand-in CEO for his grandfather's company for a year.
But, he's been mysteriously cursed to turn into a cat every night since his eighteenth birthday… until he meets you, an employee at his grandfather's company, who rescues him as a cat and changes him back with one kiss.

“I was only gone for a few minutes!” Kaveh says as Alhaitham calmly gets off of you. “Y’all just couldn’t wait, could you?”
You sit up, your heart still racing from what had happened. Should you be thankful or disappointed that Kaveh showed up? You almost pulled Alhaitham closer, imagining what his lips would feel like against yours. But maybe you should be thankful… because there would be no going back.
You and Kaveh leave Alhaitham’s room as the man gets dressed. You’re keeping Kaveh company in the kitchen as he gets the takeout food ready.
“Haitham told me a bit about you.”
“Good things, I hope,” you joke.
Kaveh turns to you and puts a hand on the kitchen counter. “I’ve never heard him talk so fondly about someone before.” Then, he looks past you. “Why don’t you tell her, Haitham?”
Alhaitham walks up beside you, fully dressed. You meet his gaze, but you’re the first to look away.
“Doing so would only be for your enjoyment,” Alhaitham says flatly to his ex-roommate.
Kaveh laughs. “Fine. You got me there, Kittyman.”
As the evening goes on, you learn a lot about Kaveh and Alhaitham. Some include that they don't have siblings. Their parents are also still overseas. That's when Kaveh decides to ask you about your family.
“Haitham said you have two younger siblings,” Kaveh says.
“Aether and Lumine," you say. "They're twins."
“Raising three kids….” Kaveh sucks in a small breath as he pours you and Alhaitham more tea. “I can’t imagine how much work that would be.”
“I couldn’t either,” you say. “...Which was why I was so surprised when my mom wanted to adopt. I thought I was enough work already.”
Kaveh and Alhaitham glance at each other at this new piece of information. “Aether and Lumine are adopted?” Alhaitham asks.
You nod. “They were around ten years old when we adopted them. They’ve been through a lot of different families before then.”
“...Must’ve been hard on them,” Kaveh says.
“Yeah. They didn’t want to be separated. That made it hard… some families just wanted one child.”
“What made your mother want to adopt?” Alhaitham asks.
You chuckle softly. “That’s… a long story, Catman.”
“Well, we got the time,” Kaveh says. “I’m curious too, honestly.”
"My mother loves kids, so she always wanted a big family. But… not long after they had me, my father got into an accident."
“...Oh, geez,” Kaveh says quietly.
"He was left bedridden for many years," you continue softly. "...My mother took care of him until she decided to take him off life support at his request."
You feel someone’s fingers brush against yours. It’s Alhaitham’s.
“Did your mother ever remarry?” Kaveh asks.
"No." Then, you sigh. "It was only her and me for a while." When Alhaitham sees you hesitating, he gently puts his hand on yours. You give him a slight smile. "Even though she was a single mother, she wanted more kids. It wasn't until after things settled down that she looked into adopting since she was at an age where it was risky to get pregnant again."
“...And that’s how she found Aether and Lumine.”
“Yes,” you say to Alhaitham. “Maybe it was fate.”
“I guess that’s something you believe in,” Kaveh says, looking at you.
“I never thought you’d ask such a thought-provoking question.”
“These things are usually left to Haitham, right?” Kaveh shrugs. “I bet he’s curious about your thoughts, too.”
You glance at Alhaitham, who's looking at you intently. "...Well, the accident was out of my mother's control. But, if we continued to dwell on the past, nothing would change. My mother wouldn't have thought to adopt, and we wouldn't have met Lumine and Aether. So… I think everyone has more than one fate, but it's our actions that determine which path we take."
Kaveh smiles knowingly but keeps quiet about his thoughts.
“...I’m sorry about what happened to your father,” Alhaitham says. “You must’ve been young when that happened.”
Your bottom lip curls inwards as you nod. There’s more to the story, but it’s something you don’t want to share. Not at this time, at least, as it deals with your… troubled past. Perhaps Alhaitham picks up your hesitation as he doesn’t pursue the matter further.
“You know..." you say, "You could probably pass as their brother, Kaveh.”
“Me?”
You show him a photo of Lumine and Aether just as Alhaitham says, “I can see it.”
Kaveh leans closer to your phone. “Whoa… we do look a little alike, huh?” Then, he swings his arm around you. “Should I call you Sis from now on?”
"Are you the long lost brother?" you joke.
“What do you think, Haitham?”
Alhaitham subtly smiles. “Sounds like a plot to a story.”
You laugh. "Should I give you royalty fees if I use it?"
“Hey, hey, don’t forget about me!”
“We already have,” Alhaitham says.
Kaveh rolls his eyes. “Yeesh, why does it feel like I’m interrupting something?” Then, he leans back. “Oh, wait. I already did, didn’t I?”
“That—”
Kaveh waves his hand dismissively. “Just close the door next time, would you?” He smiles at Alhaitham. “Still, did you find out anything interesting about your curse so far?”
“She has to be the one to initiate it,” Alhaitham says. “It doesn’t work if I kiss her.”
“Kitty kisses are out of the question, huh?” Kaveh turns to you. “Careful, Sis. He’ll probably suffocate you with them in a fight to get on your good side.”
You glance at Alhaitham with an amused smile. “Nah. He’ll probably leave scratch marks.”
“Oh, it sounds like you speak from experience already. How far have you two gone?!” Kaveh looks down, “On second thought, don’t answer that.”
You shake your head with a small smile.
◆◆◆
It’s the day before the Awards Night, and you’re sitting at home reading Heart’s Desire when you hear a knock at the door. You already know who it is as it’s the day you’re meeting Alhaitham’s grandfather.
When you open the door, Alhaitham is dressed in a black dress shirt that's tucked neatly into his dark grey pants with a black belt. It’s something that you’ve noticed; he always dresses in dark colours, and he almost always leaves the first two buttons of his dress shirts unbuttoned. You get a whiff of his cologne along with his shampoo.
"You make me feel underdressed," you say.
Nonsense. Your casual, high-waisted plaid skirt and white turtleneck look great on you. Alhaitham doesn't know what it is, but the black pantyhose adds a nice touch to the outfit.
"How?" he asks. Then, he smiles slightly. "This outfit suits you."
Alhaitham is driving toward the hospital with you in the passenger seat when you ask about the kind of person his grandfather is. It's not like you're unfamiliar with him, but you've only seen the professional side. You're curious about what he's like without the corporate mask.
“...It seems like you want to make a good impression,” Alhaitham asks with an amused smile.
"W-Well, wouldn't you if you're meeting your boss? I know I'm meeting him as… your friend, but he's still the CEO. So I don't want him to think I'm unprofessional."
Ah. So, you’re treating this more like a professional meeting. Makes sense. But…
"Would your attitude and stance change if you met him as my girlfriend?"
You quickly turn to him. “What kind of question is that?”
“A genuine one.”
“I… suppose it wouldn’t be too different. That’s a different kind of pressure, though.”
Does this mean you wouldn't want to date him? Because of the pressure?
“Has your mother asked you about us?”
"Not a lot, surprisingly," you answer. "She hasn't mentioned matchmaking parties since that day, though." You sigh. "I guess she's waiting for those pictures and an update after our date." When you see him smiling, you raise a brow. "Um, what's with that smile?"
"Well, it's not like we'll stay at the hospital all day. So if you don't have any plans tonight, can I take you out?"
“Tonight?”
Alhaitham glances at you. “You sound surprised.”
“It’s just so sudden.”
“We’re already out.” When the car slowly pulls to a stop in front of a red spotlight, he turns to you. “...And you’re dressed so nicely today. It would be a waste."
“You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?” you say with a small smile.
“Can I take that as a yes?”
You chuckle. “Well, Catman, I have high expectations.”
“That only makes me want to exceed them.”
You hold his stare but ultimately look away with a short laugh. “Let’s see what you got.”
Alhaitham pulls up to the hospital a short while later. As he parks the car and shifts the gears, he asks, "Did you tell Aether you'd be coming today?"
“I didn’t, actually,” you say, unbuckling your seatbelt. “I thought I’d surprise him.”
You didn’t know it’d be the other way around.
When you and Alhaitham arrive on your brother’s floor, you’re surprised to see him standing in front of a scared-looking Ayaka and glaring at two bigger boys.
“Aether?” you ask, quickly walking over.
Your brother turns to you, his eyes wide. “Sis? What are you doing here?”
One of the boys scoffs loudly. “Sis? That old woman is your sister?”
“Fuck off,” Aether spat.
The other boy grabs Aether by the collar, and you immediately glare at him. “Let him go.”
The boy looks at you. “And if I don’t?”
“This is a hospital,” you say sternly.
“So? Besides, your brother’s at fault. He messed with us first.”
“You were harassing her!” Aether says loudly.
Alhaitham is keeping a close eye on the situation when he sees Ayato out of the corner of his eye. The actor notices Alhaitham but quickly turns his attention to the scene in front of him.
“Ayaka?”
"We weren't harassing her," the boy says. He pushes Aether, but Alhaitham and Ayato steady him before he hits the ground.
The boy approaches Ayaka, but you step in front of her. "She clearly doesn't want your company," you say sternly. "Leave her alone."
“What’s an old woman like you gonna do?”
The boy raises a hand, but Alhaitham grabs his wrist. The boy turns around and desperately tries to move his arm, but the iron grip Alhaitham has on him renders him useless.
"You're causing a ruckus," Alhaitham says. A few patients have opened their doors, wondering what the noise is about. One of them is Alhaitham's grandfather. "Everyone here is a witness to your harassment."
The boys look at each other. Then, Alhaitham forcefully lets the boy go. He stumbles but gains his footing before glaring at Alhaitham and leaving with his friend.
“Kids these days…” Alhaitham’s grandfather narrows his eyes at the rowdy teens. “You’d think they have a shred of respect for each other.”
“Are you two okay?” Ayato asks. He puts his hand on Ayaka's shoulder.
"...I'm fine," she says.
“What happened?” you ask Aether.
Aether looks away and puts a hand in his pocket. “We were supposed to go for a walk… and these two guys started bugging her.”
“They were just talking to me at first,” Ayaka adds quietly. “But, when I said I didn’t want their company, they started getting pushy.”
“So, I stepped in,” Aether mutters. "I told them to fuck off."
"...You're injured, Aether," you say.
Aether glares at you. “Did you want me to call a doctor or a nurse then? There wasn’t time!”
“I’m not blaming you."
“Well, it sounds like you are! What was I supposed to do? Just let them harass her?”
You're standing in front of your brother. "No, that's not what I'm saying at all." You look at his leg that's still in a cast. "You also could've gotten hurt."
“Aether…” Ayaka says quietly.
“I know,” your brother mutters. “I know, okay? I don’t need you telling me what I already know.”
You watch your brother grab his clutches from Ayato and storm off.
“...Is he going to be okay?”
Aether’s behaviour doesn’t surprise you. You’re used to it. He always gets moody when you “nag.” But, this time, he seems especially moody. Perhaps it’s because it’s in front of Ayaka.
“Haitham.” Alhaitham’s grandfather walks up to him. “Are these your friends?”
This is far from the introduction you’re hoping for.
“Yes,” Alhaitham answers. First, he gestures to you and says your name. “She’s my friend who you’ve heard about.” Then, he looks at Ayato. “Ayato is an actor who’s working on a project in one of our departments. Finally, he gestures to Ayaka. “This is his sister.”
"And that hot-headed young man back there…."
“That was my brother,” you say. "...I apologize for his behaviour."
You aren’t sure what his nod means, but you decide not to ask.
“This is my grandfather,” Alhaitham says, breaking the silence. “The CEO of Sumeru Entertainment.”
“C-CEO?” Ayaka gasps.
Alhaitham’s grandfather laughs. “Is it that big of a surprise, young lady?" Then, he turns to you. “You are the one who wrote Love in the Spotlight, yes?”
“Yes.”
He smiles. “It’s a very respectable work. I must say that I’m looking forward to what you come up with next.”
“T-thank you, sir.”
“Should we talk more inside?”
Alhaitham notices your hesitation. You must want to look for your brother. “Why don’t the three of you head inside? I’ll look for Aether.”
“Are you sure?” you ask.
Alhaitham nods. “...I’ll take care of him.”
Perhaps it is for the best. You're probably the last person Aether wants to see right now, next to Ayaka.
“Um, but what about me?”
“I think you know the answer to that, Ayaka,” Ayato says kindly. “We’ve all been there… wanting to look cool in front of a girl. He wouldn’t be comfortable if you consoled him.”
"I'm sure that young man will listen to reason," Alhaitham's grandfather says. "If he has the courage to protect a young lady, he has the potential to be a promising man."
You never imagined the meeting to take place without Alhaitham. Isn't that the reason you came here? Well, here's to another one of life's curveballs.
◆◆◆
When Alhaitham finds Aether, your brother is sitting on a bench alone. He’s looking at something on his phone, and when he senses someone approaching him, he looks to the side and awkwardly puts his phone away.
"...Did Sis ask you to come to look for me?" Aether asks.
“No.” Alhaitham glances at the empty space beside Aether. “Is this spot taken?”
“...Go ahead.”
So, Alhaitham takes it, and a short silence settles in until…
“What would you have done?” Aether asks, and Alhaitham looks at him. “...If my sister was in trouble like that, would you have done something?”
“I’d do anything to protect her.”
“...Then, I didn’t do anything wrong, right?”
“...Protecting someone isn’t just about protecting that person, however.”
Aether slightly tilts his head. “What do you mean?”
"Simply put, there are different ways to handle a situation."
Aether sighs. “...I know what you’re trying to say. I shouldn’t have charged head-first like that, right? I should’ve considered all of my options.”
“When something unexpected happens, we sometimes act on impulse, especially if it’s something we’ve never experienced before.” Alhaitham gives him a small smile. “No one is born knowing what to do in every situation. We learn through our experiences. So, you shouldn’t dwell on this. Rather, take it as experience.”
"That's sure is a positive way of looking at it," Aether says quietly. He hunches over. "...This isn't the first time something like this happened. A few years ago, I cussed at and punched a guy who was bugging Lumine. Sis had to come to the police station because mom was recovering from surgery."
Then, a quiet sigh. "I still remember how tired she looked," he continues. "She was already busy with work. I felt like I was just burdening her, but I couldn't control myself. But... in the end, I just caused more trouble for both of them." Aether groans. "I couldn't exactly protect Lumine. This time, I couldn't protect Ayaka." He sighs loudly. "She must think I'm pathetic."
“Are you sure?”
“...You sound certain that she doesn’t.”
“If your sister tried to protect you while she was injured, what would you think of her?”
Aether is silent for a short moment. Then, he says, “...I’d think she was stupid. Stupid… but kinda cool.”
“Would that not be what Ayaka thinks of you?”
“Yeah… but she thinks I’m stupid.”
Alhaitham chuckles. “Haven’t we all been there?”
Aether narrows his eyes. "You're telling me that girls have thought you were stupid? That's incredibly hard to believe. I mean… look at you! You're like…." He relies on his hands and body language to help him find the right word. But, eventually, settles with, "...Like if the word cool was a person!"
“But I wasn’t always the person I am now.”
“Um… what kind of person were you like before?”
"That's a secret. But I wasn't proud of him. I knew I had to make changes."
“How long did that take… to, um”—Aether awkwardly scratches the back of his head—“to become the person you are now?”
"...Let's just say it took a lot of experience."
Aether sighs again. “I guess I still have a lot to learn.”
“Knowing and acknowledging that means you’re already improving.”
Aether smiles. “So, I just upped my charm, right?”
“I would say so," Alhaitham says, returning his smile.
Then, Aether's face turns serious. "...I want to protect Ayaka, but I also want to protect my sisters. They're always worried about me… and I don't want to burden them anymore." He hops off the bench. "It's finally time for Aether 2.0!"
"Aether?" Aether and Alhaitham recognize the voice immediately. Lumine walks toward them and smiles at Alhaitham. "Mr. Neighbour! What are you doing here?"
“He was giving me experience points.”
Lumine raises a brow. “Experience points? What are you talking about, Aether?”
“You wouldn’t understand.” Aether waves his hand dismissively. “Did you come to visit?”
"No, Aether. I go to the hospital in my free time."
Aether returns his sister's deadpan look with one of his own.
“We were just heading back,” Alhaitham says, standing.
“Oh, if you’re here… does that mean Sis is here, too?” Lumine asks as the three of you walk back into the hospital.
"Why is everyone keeping hospital visits a secret now?" Aether asks. He looks at Lumine. "Even you didn't tell me you were coming!"
"It's called a surprise, Aether." Then, to Alhaitham, she asks, "Why'd you and Sis keep it a secret?"
“We’re here to visit my grandfather.”
Lumine gasps. “Wait… are you two that serious already?”
Alhaitham doesn’t want to admit that the two of you haven’t even started yet.
When Alhaitham opens the door to his grandfather's room, he hears a hearty laugh from him. Alhaitham guesses that he's in good company.
“Oh, Haitham, you’re back! And with… two young people this time.”
“Lumine,” you say, surprised.
Your sister smiles at you before turning to Alhaitham’s grandfather. “H-hello! My name is Lumine.” She points to you. "She's my sister, and"—she slightly frowns at Aether—"he's my brother."
After his grandfather greets her, he says, “It seems like we have quite a group here, don’t we?”
Aether walks up to you, and you stare at him calmly. “...Sorry for lashing out at you like that earlier. I didn’t mean to.”
“I shouldn’t have chided you like that,” you say with a small smile.
Lumine looks from you to Aether and back to you. “...Did something happen? What am I missing?”
“I still have to thank you for protecting Ayaka the way you did, Aether,” Ayato says. “I’ve already thanked your sister.”
Aether smiles at him and then turns to Ayaka. “...I promise I’ll protect you next time.”
"Um... why are we getting all sappy?" Lumine asks upon seeing Ayaka's shy smile.
You turn to Alhaitham, who catches you looking at him. Then, you quietly mouth, “What did you say to him?”
Alhaitham subtly smiles and gives a little shrug.
◆◆◆
“My, would you look at the time! It really flies when you’re having fun.”
It's true. It was shortly after lunch when you and Alhaitham arrived, and now it's almost dinner time.
“Should we go out for dinner together?” Ayato asks.
No, Alhaitham wants to say. He only wants to take you out to dinner. No siblings. No friends. Just you and him.
“Actually, we have plans.”
Everyone turns to Alhaitham, who looks unfazed.
“We?” Ayaka asks.
“Ooh, I get it,” Lumine says. “You’re taking Sis out to dinner, aren’t you?”
“Just the two of you?” his grandfather asks, raising a brow. “Aren't you two just friends?”
Aether and Lumine gasp simultaneously. “What!”
Oh no. You do not want to deal with the explanations right now, but it seems like it’s getting messier.
Before your siblings can bombard you with questions, Alhaitham says, “We’re a work in progress.”
You freeze when he takes your hand. Ayaka gasps quietly. Ayato’s kind smile doesn’t change. Lumine and Aether still look like they have questions.
“...A boss and employee relationship,” Ayato chuckles. “It sounds like the plot of a romance novel.”
“Boss and employee… relationship?” Lumine turns to Alhaitham. “Do you work with Sis? I thought you were a scholar at Akademiya.”
“Didn’t you know, Lumine?” Ayato asks. “Alhaitham is the stand-in CEO for Sumeru Entertainment.”
Lumine’s jaw drops, and she immediately turns to you. “You’re dating a CEO?!”
You feel like you’re sweating bullets now.
Aether slowly claps. “If mom knew, she would freak.”
You want to tell them not to tell your mother. Not yet, at least. But the Awards Night pops into your mind, and you figure Alhaitham’s identity will be revealed to everyone.
"We thought it would be best to keep our relationship a secret," you say. You know Alhaitham is looking at you, which makes you even more nervous. You can't have him doing all the work. It won't be fair. You turn to Lumine. "I didn't lie to you and mom. But we didn't want to mention that he's currently my CEO because we weren't official yet."
It surprises you how smoothly you said it.
Alhaitham's grandfather puts a hand over his heart. Everyone almost gets scared until he says, "Haitham… you have a lot of explaining to do. My heart can't take these kinds of surprises."
“I’m sorry I kept this from you,” Alhaitham says. “I—”
“But first, don’t you have a date to go on?”
You and Alhaitham glance at each other. But it’s Ayato who says, “Unless you’d like some company.”
“No.”
Alhaitham’s quick, flat response almost draws a soft laugh from everyone else.
“Well, get going then,” his grandfather says.
Before you and Alhaitham walk out the door, Lumine adds,” We want to see pictures!”
You look over your shoulder, and this time it’s you who flatly says, “No.”
◆◆◆
As soon as you and Alhaitham are in the car, you sigh. “...I thought I was going to get a heart attack.”
“Does this mean we’re official now?”
You glance at him and see that he's looking at you. "I don't know, Catman. Are we?"
He shifts the gears. “...You’re going to drive me crazy, you know."
“It’s only fair,” you say quietly.
Wait. Does that mean what he thinks it means?
“So”—you look straight ahead—“Where are you taking me?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“Well, if I learned anything about you since the day we met, you’re full of surprises, Catman.”
Alhaitham eventually pulls up to the lakeside, where there's a long path for people to jog, walk, or bike. On the other side, there's a great view of the cityscape.
“An evening walk by the lake?” you ask with a small smile. “Simple yet… intimate, I would say.” You unbuckle your seatbelt. "And here I thought we were going to have dinner."
"Who says that isn't on the agenda?"
You smile. "Well, if you don't have a place in mind, can I pick the place?"
Alhaitham does. One of the most expensive—if not the most expensive—restaurants in the heart of the business district. The top floor has a gorgeous city view. He's been there before but never with someone special. Would it be childish to tell you he's always imagined sharing the nighttime city view with that special someone?
However, he'll let you choose. Just because he wants to do a little more if he does take you there.
"Of course," he answers.
You and Alhaitham walk side-by-side, enjoying the evening breeze that carries the sounds of laughter and quiet conversations.
“What did you say to Aether, by the way?”
"Nothing, really," Alhaitham says as a person jogs by. "He's a smart kid."
“I don’t doubt that, but I know my brother.” You look at him. “You must’ve worked some kind of magic on him.”
Before the biker behind you even gets a chance to ring the bell, Alhaitham has his arm around you and effortlessly sweeps you to his side. Your hands are on his shoulders. His arm is still around you, and your face is close to his.
“...Magic, huh?”
Your gaze falls to his lips. "...Or, is it top secret?"
“Secret or not,” he says quietly, slowly leaning closer, “I’d rather work my magic on you.”
Just before his lips brush against yours, you suddenly hear someone call your name. Startled, you pull back, and Alhaitham is just as surprised. Then, your name comes again, and you recognize the voice. This time, you turn around.
“Mom,” you say. “What a surprise.”

Honestly, one of the "best" parts of Fates' writing is that it's bad in so specific ways that there is just enough good stuff there that it gets people thinking about ways in which it could be better. For example, here are some of my own ideas:
Anankos, the Rainbow Sage, the Nohr Dragon and the Hoshido Dragon were siblings like the "modern" Nohr/Hoshido siblings, and the Nohr/Hoshido dragons were female. Those two and the Rainbow Sage sealed themselves into a human form to put off the madness that inevitably befalls dragons in old age, but Anankos didn't
Anankos eventually went mad because of course he did, and went on a massive rampage across the continent, only to be stopped by the combined efforts of his siblings and their respective human allies/partners. Valla gets flung into a seperate dimension sorta thing because of it, and Anankos gets super duper sealed away, first in the way that he can't leave Valla, and then in the way that he is sealed away within Valla
A Lot Of Time passes and Valla + Anankos get either forgotten or are erased from people's memories, but Anankos eventually manages to break free from his seal within Valla... but the one keeping him in Valla, no such luck. The people of Valla can leave, and his influence and power can extend beyond Valla, but he physically can't leave Valla
So, next actual change: Iago and Yukimura are both from Valla and servants of Anankos instead of Generic Evil Henchmen #1 and The Most Forgettable Playable Fates Character (which is saying something). Both are trying to corrupt the respective rulers of Hoshido and Nohr enough despair so that they become a suitable vessel for Anankos, who can use their distant familial connection to get his mind into their bodies and leave Valla that way
Speaking of respective monarchs: Sumeragi's first wive, Ikona is still alive, and the queen of Hoshido even in the present. Corrin also still ends up outside of Valla, but Mikoto gets yoinked back right after she gets Corrin outta there
The whole Corrin getting adopted and kidnapped stuff still happens, but both sides believe that they are Corrin's blood family due to some Magic Mind Manipulation™ from Iago and Yukimura. Corrin's not vital to Anankos' plans, but hey, can't hurt to have a potential backup vessel, right?
About halfway through Conquest, Corrin turns against Nohr together with Camilla and Elise who are already with them, they basically join forces with the rebellion in Cheve, and by proxy, Scarlet, and manage to break Garon out of his mind control a good ten chapters before the game is even over
But, there's still a perfectly good Hoshido to ruin, and so Yukimura gets to work on Ikona, who's also susceptible to that shit, especially since Iago had to flee and seek refuge in Hoshido
In Birthright meanwhile, Hoshido just doesn't get to be the Magical UwU Peace Kingdom, and their relationship to the people under them is similar to how it is between Nohr and say, the Ice Tribe. Speaking of which, Flame Tribe rebellion
In Birthright's ending, Ryoma abdicates the throne and lets Hinoka become queen because he thinks he doesn't make a good ruler
Endgame for both Birthright and Conquest sees the siblings of the side you didn't pick get pulled into the whole mind control/Being Influenced deal, and they form the last line of defence for Garon/Ikona. To get to the chamber where the respective monarch has sealed themselves, you only need to kill three of the four siblings, and it's your choice who it is! Chances are that the remaining siblings may not have the best view of Corrin afterwards, though.
Conquest has Garon join as playable in the endgame, Birthright has Ikona join in the endgame, Revalation has both of them join. Also, they have supports with each other there.

There's been something going on in my head lately. This topic is about Shinichiro and I feel disappointed. Because Shinichiro is a man who I see as the ideal older brother and parent, who is really good-hearted and loves his siblings more than anything. This is definitely Shinichiro. He is a really good-hearted man who can be easily trusted. But today, some of the things written in Izana's letter confused me a lot. We had discussions about this issue on Twitter and many things came to my mind. Our topic is this friends;
Shinichiro knew that Izana was brother to Emma, so he went to the Philippines to pick up his brother. He picked up his younger brother and went back to Japan. He gave Izana an incredibly beautiful day on the first day, and in fact, in Izana's words, gave him the best day of his life. He gave her the opportunity to live her beautiful day. Afterwards, she continued to take care of him and spend the day with him. What bothers me is that Shinichiro knew that Emma and Izana were sisters. Why didn't he come and tell Emma this in the first place? Was it such a difficult thing to say that you found your brother? For God's sake, he wasn't just Emma's brother, but theirs too. As soon as he found Izana, why didn't he bring her home and introduce her to Grandpa? Why didn't he take Mikey and Emma to their orphanage visits? Why did he promise Izana an empty family?
so apparently, from the letter we saw in the trailer, we find out that shinichiro actually /knew/ that emma and izana were related and still kept them separate when he could have adopted him...shinichiro, that's so sick and twisted shit is there an adult who didn't do izana wrong? The adoption process is surely hard but at this point he could have simply brought emma to visit him and introduce izana to mikey when he got to see him at the orphanage. Mikey was positive about the idea (as we see in the manga) so why didn't Shinichiro do anything about it?When he talks to mikey asking him his opinion on having another brother , he was already an adult, so why didn't he do anything? It's like he kinda forgot about izana because they're not "related", but at that point, why did he get izana's life in the first place? Because he was Emma's brother? And like this we get to the initial point again: he could have, at least, introduced them all
Well firstly I'm pretty sure Shinichiro didn't pick Izana up from the Philippines at all. Since Izana was in a foster home adoption type place and then juvie in Japan (that's how he met Kakucho at the foster home and then the S62 at juvie). I'm also not sure how a Japanese teenager would've been just allowed to take a kid from the Philippines to Japan like that. Actually Izana doesn't even seem to have known he had family in the Philippines until Karen told him. He thought she was his mum and that he had the same dad as Shinichiro (not clear if he knew the guys name or what he looked like though).
Tumblr media
I agree though, from our perspective it does seem like Shinichiro made a big mistake here with not introducing Izana to the others or at least telling them. However Shinichiro didn't have our perspective. Shinichiro had no idea what was going to happen or what the consequences of doing that would be. I feel like this is one of those things which will divide the fandom, with some ageeeing and some disagreeing (both are totally fine though).
Like I think Shinichiro was right not to rush into things here, taking on the care of another child is a big responsibility and Shinichiro was already practically raising two, not to mention what kind of impact a change in environment could have on Izana's mental health, a kid he had known for a few hours at this point. I don't know a lot about the irl adoption process but I'm pretty sure you have to spend more then a few hours with the kid before deciding anything. I think that's why they then started exchanging letters, as a way for them to get to know each other better and get more comfortable with each other.
Tumblr media
I'm guessing the next part of Shinichiro's plan was to get to know Izana better and get Izana more comfortable with him before introducing him to the others. We know Shinichiro was at least thinking about introducing Izana to them because of the question he asked Mikey.
Tumblr media
But then I'm guessing what stopped him was all the complications. Aka Mikey ripped Sanzu's face open and Izana beat up a bunch of kids and then basically forced one to take his own life. Put them together and they don't get along and you're going to have a big problem on your hands. Like I understand why Shinichiro wanted to move slowly here, this isn't something that should've been rushed. Not to mention the warning signs Izana was already showing towards Mikey by asking Shinichiro to stop talking about him and saying hearing about Mikey gives him a headache.
Tumblr media
I'd say the main mystery here is why he didn't tell Emma/ bring Emma with him to visit. I'm not sure if he didn't wanna get her hopes up or if he wss worried about her or Izana's reaction (though they both seem like they would've been positive), or if he didn't want to make Emma keep the secret from Mikey but didn't want to let Mikey know yet. That is a bit of mystery.
Also to be completely fair to Shinichiro I don't think he ever would've expected things to play out the way they did. He was only a teenager himself when he first met Izana and even as a young adult it's a big responsibility to bring Izana into the house and make sure all his siblings were doing ok. He clearly wanted to unite them all but wanted it done in the correct way. Shinichiro has only been shown to want the best for his siblings so I'm sure he thought he was doing the right thing here. Though obviously this is just my take and we're all going to have different opinions on this.

Anita jean!
ANITAT JEAN!!!
Alright so the Little Wren AU is basically just 'Bruce manages to find Anita after she fakes her death' and she actually does become his first sidekick. She isn't a fighter, Bruce puts her under three layers of armor, and she basically fills a mage and healer role with first aid (mostly for civilians and criminals) and the virtual reality gas drug, the use of which allows batman to remain a cryptid for far longer.
Anita also takes longer to get the hang of grappling hooks because she's less coordinated than even Tim but she does get them probably not too long after Dick comes to the manner since the two can train together. Her inability to use grappling hooks when she first enters the field is why The Whirly-Bat was made, named The Hummingbird in this au because it's Anita's and was named before Dick was adopted into the family and took a bat-gimmick to every piece of equipment in the cave. Before he joined the team, Bruce and Anita were work shopping names for a lot of their stuff but hadn't come to decisions for most of them, so Dick still gets to do that, but not for Anita's Hummingbird.
Rather than the dynamic duo, this au has either a tritastic trio of Batman, Wren, and Robin, or the dynamic duo is seen as Wren and Robin, as Batman's sidekicks. When Tim ends up at the manner, Anita basically tells him he's too tactical to be Robin and gives him the Wren mantle, which she either had already left behind or was in the process of considering it. Steph ends ends up becoming his paired Robin, for much longer than Canon.
Steph initiating that plan that required Matches Malone probably still happens, but with Anita's help she's able to salvage it, but it opens up an entirely new set of problems because at that point Anita was already on the verge of discovering The Court of Owls (because their one give away was a nursery rhyme and she wanted to find out it's origin because it's her hobby) and now The Court sees the bat clan take control of the city basically in it's entirety so those two things combined make The Court release the elite talons. A temporary alliance with The League of Assassins and the timely first arrival of Cass in the city means they just barely manage to win. This is also the family's first introduction to Damian and a recently resurrected Jason is probably also there, but dressed like the rest of the assassins so he isn't recognized.
Anita herself, which is what this au is actually about, is going to be depicted as better adjusted due to not living her life since she was, like, eight alone and eventually dedicated to revenge. She has hyperfixations on birds, nursery rhymes, programming, and tech and is an excellent detective. I already mentioned she's less coordinated starting out but that doesn't mean she's weak, she'd probably be able to beat Dick in a fight when he first gets to the manor since he's at that point just a gymnast but she's been training as a martial artist for like six months at that point.
Speaking of Dick, I really look forward to writing their banter. They are going to be so sassy to each other but very protective of each other. Almost as much as they're both protective of every one younger siblings, which, and seeing some of your posts this may be disappointing, isn't going to be terribly long. Finding a way to fit every obscure batfam character in is for my other dc au, the same one that my ruleset for Claire's powers is for, but I do have Calvin, Charlie, and and Dana (Talon, Misfit, and Strike) as sure-shows for Little Wren.
Long-Term, the au's story-arc will focus on the eventual take down of The Parliament of Owls as the main antagonists, as it feels fitting for an Anita Jean focused story for previously stated Nursery Rhyme related reasons, although I do also plan for The League to be taken down due to Tim still having his globetrotting adventure and then the batfam actually capitalizing on it.
Edit for Addendum: the first paragraph makes it sound like Anita never fights, I should clarify that her role on the team does evolve as she gets older and Bruce becomes more lenient.

Hey there! Just discovered your blog and your TOH AUs and look SO interesting but I can't find any easy way to get through your comics in order (or where to begin, what each AU is about etc)
Is there a post with a summary or some link for the chronological order I may have missed?
And if you're taking suggestions, a pinned post with all the info would be great to help newcomers like me get into it!
Thank you for your time!
Hellooo!!! Yeah welcome to this side of the toh fandom - my space is especially unorganized 😭 I'll take up the idea to make a post summary!! For now I'll just state them here for you while that's in progress :3
For any other newcomers, this post might help you! Click more if you're interested :)
- PITMDAU (Philip In The Modern AU)
MASTERPOST LINK !! CLICK HERE!!
This AU is just what you think! Philip in the modern AU :)
Just to quickly brief you on how this happened ;
Philip managed to escape the demon realm ahead of the hexsquad but passed out straight after he went through the portal. Hexsquad finds him and decides to bring him home, because better a watchful eye than a risk or mystery right? He woke up two days later confused and even tried to kill someone but didn't work and he passed out again and then he woke up another day later less aggravated.
Quick note! This Philip is a little less bad than canon but can still be considered a bad guy :3
For a whole month it was awkward living with him and he barely ate anything but Hunter did give him leftovers. After a month of adjusting to their situation, (and seeing that he doesn't seem to have any intention of violence) Luz starts teaching him modern day technology along with the rest of the Hexsquad!
Or TL;DR : old man confused about the modern day
Final notes!!
• There is a spin off to the AU, which is Gamer Grandpa where, Philip has a Twitch channel and streams and you can ask him questions! (I have not been answering them 😭 don't pressure me but I'm genuinely sorry 😭🌹)
• There are also crossovers with my other AU, SCAU (scroll down to read about that!) And also future canon!! :3
• Philip eats glyphs and hexes holdem cards to keep his curse at bay! :) no palisman sacrificing!! No siree! Don't argue with me on this! Its canon! /lhj
• Also Caleb is there too to mess with Pip giggles
- SCAU (Sharing Caleb AU)
MASTERPOST LINK!!! CLICK HERE!!
Sharing Caleb AU is an AU wherein Philip and Evelyn, well, share Caleb! Nothing went horribly wrong, Caleb didn't get killed by Philip and so on. But wait! Its more complex than you think!
In the masterpost and the first few links to the first few comics you'll see, I'd like to note that they were posted before what canon SCAU is now so Philip didn't find Caleb (and Evelyn) in his 20s or so, but when he was 8! Philip stumbled upon Evelyn in the forest rambling about Caleb after a month of wandering around alone in the BI and she takes him home and Caleb gets a beating /lhj
They then at some point find the starchild The Collector in the woods (again lol) somewhere and bring him home — Caleb adopts him, inevitably creating the Witteclaw Siblings (TC&Pip) (the chaos bringers) (Witteclaw are their parents) <3 (also we call him Enzo instead of TC it's like their deadname lol)
Final notes!!
• Philip is a WHOLE LOT more tame than canon, he's in fact even a whole nother person (he was still racist for a bit but he grew out of that)
• Philip is a mama's boy as we like to call him here :3
• This AU had a crossover with PITMDAU, as you'd know!
→ following that crossover, surfaces Pipson! A slash mlm ship between Pip and Jason, a character I made as a joke originally from PITMDAU. Jason, you'll find similar to a certain um.. god.. is a human, orphaned and has a younger sibling (I self inserted myself but I promise I'm nowhere to be seen, it's just like one brief mention once) (Me and Jason because I share the same birthday as Jesus lol)
• There's also already a future SCAU timeline but so far only glimpses :) it's still in the works as I try to make Hunter exist somehow.
• Philip still gets his curse thingy! Except! He carved glyphs into his arms thinking he would be able to open the door to the human realm (obviously, didn't work) and he's now immortal and in pain and needs to drink elixirs and eat glyphs.
EDIT : FORGOT TO ADD BELPAPA AU (don't send me hate pls ☺️🌹)
- BELPAPA AU
FUCKING CRIES it's a .. it's.. it's um.. it's a. Au where.. Philip and Papa Titan fall in love ... No there's no masterpost but if you click on the tag.. belpapa au .. you can find the comics.. very ez navigation I posted like 5 comics of these only so.. um.. um.. 😭😭😭 HEAR ME OUR HEAR ME OUT!!!1! no I am not elaborating further I will cry
I have not updated the masterposts navigation in a long time, and seeing that my sketchbook is full and I haven't bought a new one, maybe I can find time to arrange them! So bare with me ok :)
EXTRA GENERAL NOTES
The crossovers that happen are NOT CANON to any of the AU stories, else it will just disrupt the story as a whole and I do not have the brain capacity or power to change everything while trying to make it make sense
I mostly won't focus on lore, the crossovers being an exception because that's what it's purpose is and has always been
Most of these comics are for silly fun times!! So have fun!! Or if you don't like it, that's cool!
Feel free to ask anything you want involving AUs and I'll even take suggestions or headcanons you may have! :3 Fanwork is cool and I'm fine with anyone using my art with the condition of crediting so you don't need to ask me!
Don't be shy to interact with my posts! I promise I'm a nice person! I've seen plenty of people being scared to comment, they always tell me they're too shy and I just wanna say guys I don't bite 🌹
There's also a Philip exclusive crossover (very short, only like three posts?) where PITMDAU, SCAU, Canon and Belpapa AU Philips meet eo.. that's all..

Hi! Could would you like to write something about reader and Tangerine where she is the Twins's "adopted sister" but they have always been secretly in love with each other. Anyway at some point they split and later they meet again on the Train (idk... maybe she is an assassin too and is trying to help them?) . Then they argue because something dangerous happens so the truth comes out and a smut at the end?! Ps: Sorry for my bad English but it's not my first language. Thank you so much!
hii! I love it
I did change some things, I hope that’s okay- I changed it to foster siblings and I didn’t do smut, really really really sorry. I’ve written so much smut lately my head might explode😭 but I have already got a train smut one, I’ll link it, in case that suits better. and your English is great, don’t worry! and you’re welcome!
thank you for your request 💌

Being a contract assassin meant you sometimes had to do things you weren’t comfortable doing. But right now the thought of walking into a gunfight felt so much easier than the thought of staying in Tokyo a second longer- this feeling was of heartache, rather than of adrenaline.
Momentarily relaxing into the chair of the quiet car- feeling pleased to finally be leaving this city. The thoughts of the current mission resurface, reminding you of your task. You were instructed to snatch a silver briefcase from two people, looking over the assignment paper and silently chuckling reading their names. “Why fruits?” You thought to yourself.
The truth is, you hadn’t dreamt of having this as a career- without sounding cheesy, this career chose you. But lately, you’ve become fed up with your job, you hated the way it made you feel. When you were younger you wanted to help people- not kill them. Shrugging off your consistent thoughts, you get to work.
Getting you up you walk through the carriage doors, checking the luggage area for the correct case. “No way!” You thought to yourself, spotting the train sticker on the handle. “That was too easy.” Leaning over to reach it, you stand upright feeling a bit smug while clutching the case.
A harsh cough interrupts you, turning around to see a tall moustached man glaring at you. “What do you think you’re doing?”
You turn to meet the man’s face and you freeze- not out of fear, but because your past has finally caught up to you. He still looks the same, well apart from the porn-‘stache and his now very buff torso.
His eyes soften when he finally realises who was standing in front of him. Your eyes doe as your lips tug up into a smile. Even with the great speed of the Bullet Train, time stood still for a few moments.
Looking wearingly between him and the case. “Is it yours?” You ask.
“Yeah, but I don’t care about that now.” Trying to hide a smile.
You give him the case with a wry grin, “neither do I.”
When you were a teenager you were passed around the system a lot, you’d stay with new foster families every couple of months. You hated it- never feeling like you had a proper home, but that was until you met two very special people.
These two very special people were often placed in the same houses as you, which meant that the three of you were able to develop a genuine friendship over the years. You were never able to tell him how much you loved him. It made your heart hurt- the confusion and guilt of being in love with someone from your foster family. But one night it all got too much, you couldn’t take it anymore, so you just left- you ran away. You wrote individual heartfelt letters to brothers before you left, you tucked them under their pillows as you kissed their temples goodbye. You had always regretted the way you left.
Looking at him right now, it’s like nothing had changed like the last fifteen years apart meant nothing.
You cave in, you step towards him extending your arms to initiate an embrace. He doesn’t even need to think about it, he wraps his big arms tightly around you, squeezing you. His chin resting on your head, enjoying this moment as you breathed in each other's familiar scents.
Pulling apart to look him over, beaming with soft eyes, “I can’t believe it’s really you.”
“Neither can I.” A boyish grin plastered across his face, kissing the crown of your head. It didn’t feel foreign or odd, it just felt right.
“We’re finally in Tokyo together.” You smile.
“You remember that too?” Referencing the conversation about cities you had one night, many years ago.
“You need to get off this train.” Tan suddenly admits, with sullen eyes.
“No. I’m not getting off.” You replied simply.
“It’s about to go tits up- I can’t let you get hurt.” He says as his gaze softened.
“I don’t care. I’m not going to leave you again.” Tenderly smiling up at him.
“Please? Just go.” He says a little more sternly.
“No. I can take care of myself.” Standing your ground. “Wait a second- are you both here? Are you the fruit twins?” Connecting the dots.
His eyes squinted so you took that as a ‘yes’.
“You are.” Pointing a playful finger at him, “what one are you? Are you Lemon- is it because you’re sour?” Grinning at him.
“No- I’m Tangerine.”
“Why ‘Tangerine’?”
“Because I’m adaptable- oh bloody hell it’s not important. Are you trying to change the subject?”
Hiding your smirk, “…no”
“You are. You need to go- please. I could never forgive myself if you got hurt.” Face screwing up, hating the thought.
“Tan…” you started with a smirk as you called him by his code name rather than his real name. “Can I ask you something?”
“Yes.” He quickly responds.
“Do you have a girlfriend- or wife or-or someone?” You said slowly.
His head tilted to the side in confusion. “Uh-? Why?”
“Just answer.”
“No…”
“Good. I want to tell you something I should’ve said years ago… I’m still in love with you. So no, I cannot leave you again, but if you don’t feel the way, please stop me- I don’t know why I’m still taking- just tell me to stop- Christ, my hands are getting clammy. I’m sorry, I don’t think I should’ve said that.” Eyes closing as if you were trying to hide yourself.
Slowly opening them when there was a looming silence, looking up to you see him grinning widely at you.
“I’ve loved you since I was a kid- I haven’t stopped.” He admits. “Look at this.” He pulls out his phone showing you the wallpaper. It was a picture of the letter you gave him all those years ago. “It reminds me to keep going.” Looking over you tenderly. “It’s why I’m still here.”
Your chest staggered as you inched closer to him, you didn’t want to wait any longer. You tenderly kissed him, and as you pulled away his hands cupped your face as if he was trying to bring you back in. He gently brushed over your lips as you melted into him, it felt so surreal to be finally here at this moment.
Separating with a twinkle in each of your eyes, beaming at one another.
“We can run away together? And forget this mission? I don’t ever want to let you go again.” You softly ask. It was a big ask, you just hoped he’d say yes.
“I’m not leaving without my brother.”
“I know, I meant him too.” Cupping his cheeks.
A smile arose under his moustache. “Okay.”
“Really?” Grinning.
“Yes. Let’s go get him. And bring that case- we can put it on red and have a wonderful time.”
Struggling to contain your excitement, you kiss him eagerly. “Okay we gotta be quick, next stop is in two minutes.”
You picked up the case as he lead you through the carriage by your hand, immediately noticing Lemon with the Son.
“We gotta go.” Tan says seriously to his brother.
“Who’s the girl- NO! No fucking way!” Lemon shouts, earning a “shush” from a lady a couple rows in front. He rushes up to you, hugging you tightly.
“I’ve missed you! But we gotta go, right now.” You say ushering him along.
Tangerine leans over the table towards the kid sitting close to the window, “you better stay on the fucking train, your daddy is waiting for you at Kyoto.”
The three of you walked off the train together, it felt like you finally had your family back. Who knows, maybe you could work together as a team. No longer hating this city, it brought your family together.

A/N: Finally stoping being a tramp and working on the previous requests (:<

How you guys meet up?—
It's very likely that you guys got to know each other pretty early on, because I feel like Lynn would be the type of mom who likes to have a group of first-time moms where everyone helps each other out, you know? And because of that, you literally met each other at birth.
With all this news of mass child abductions, your mother ended up making the decision to throw away her TV as she didn't want to wait to find out what'd happened to you. It would have been nice if Miss Lynn had done what you mother also did earlier.
One afternoon, you mother wanted to stop by her friend's house just to deliver some things that she had promised to return, but when she entered the house, she ended up encounting with a woman hanging over the ceiling and the TV on, but only the rustle was heard. Your mother knew exactly what this scenario was about.
"Oh no... It happened." —said your mother with her eyes still focused on the dead body of her, now, ex-friend. Upon searching the room a little further, your mother ends up finding a small baby lying in the corner of the TV, sobbing and choking on his own tears. The woman picks up poor baby Adam and tries to calm him down before calling the police.
In short: the cops couldn't do much since the boy's own father was reported missing a while back and so the little boy had to be given up for adoption. Your mother ended up not liking the idea so she tried to go to court to get legal custody of little Adam. She did it :)
So...yeah... You and Adam are practically siblings now...yay!! :D
Now about Jonah, there's a large percentage that you and Adam met him together at school and became friends at the same time making the three of you a well known trio around school. Rumors are going around that the three of you were never seen apart, and those who see the trio separated would be unlucky for the rest of the week 😰
Just kidding! Hehe...or maybe not— 🤨
Your relationship with them two—
Your relationship with these two would be chaotic as the three of you are literally the troublemakers and like to pester everywhere you guys can step. Mainly you and Jonah, Adam even participates in these things but mostly he just stays with you just to follow and making sure you guys are still alive.
Now about your relationship with each one, let's start with our dear Adam!
100% sure you would have that classic relationship of siblings who are always fighting over everything but in front of mom they are the greatest angels that the earth has ever had. And if they are not fighting, manipulation is also valid.
"Adam."
"hm?"
"Remember when mom adopt you and now you're my favorite brother?"
"hm"
"...go take me a cup of glass—"
"fuck you."
What a lovely siblings relationship 🥰
Despite lots of name-calling, death threats, punches and all that's good... you two love each other very much and would never let anything bad happen to either of you :)
Now a little bit about our other sweet boy, Jonah!
Jonah would be another brotherly figure for you and Adam, Jonah ended up being such a close friend to the point that he could always arrange sleepovers, that was when you were kids but who says you can't do that in your adulthood?
"Guys, guys, guy—"
"TALK ALREADY!"
"I saw that my neighbor has candy but I need some distractions so I can take them..."
"..."
"Yes, we are totally in."
"Yes!"
Not a day is boring when Jonah is around you as he always makes a mess to get you all involved. There are times when you all participate but most of the time the biggest troublemakers are you and Jonah.
You two practically have clown-to-clown telepathy if you haven't figured it out yet.
Growing up together—
You end up not changing as much from what you were before, but one of you ended up changing drastically that you and Jonah would even think was cool, which was Adam. Adam was now a type of person who was always looking for something to risk and live an adventure. You and Jonah don't know where all that adventurous drive came from, but it's not like you're complaining, is it?
It didn't take long for Adam to find the perfect club for the three of you which would be the Bythorne Paranormal Club (which would later be changed by Adam himself to the Bythorne Paranormal Society).
In this club you end up meeting a new member for the group who would be Sarah Heathcliff!
"You guys are now a quartet! Nobody can stop you now!" — you thought with a big smile, little did you know that after participating in this society to hunt possible paranormal cases, everyone's lives would turn upside down.

The Moon Shines In Friendship (Nimona fanfic) - chapter 3
Previous Next
I don't want to wait another month to make my 3rd chapter, so here it is!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRESENT DAY
Ballister took his time to process what was going on right now. He wanted this to be a dream… a dream that he couldn't wake up from it… But it wasn't a dream. It was REAL! Chasina Moonlight, the woman that he had known all his life, the sister he never had, was right here standing right in front of him after her absence for 5 years. He had never seen her for 5 long years. 5 years might be short, but it was long enough for him to see the young woman he was very close to. He didn't care if he dropped his favorite mug of coffee. He was just shocked and surprised to see her. Ballister thought he needed more time to process this, but… tears of joy had already formed in his eyes. He shouldn't be crying though. He hadn't been crying for a while, but he couldn't hold them anymore.
Chasina was still standing there with Ballister staring at her, still frozen in place. She was scared that he might be mad at her or maybe didn't want to be friends anymore because of her disappearance. She just popped back into his life, just like that, "Uh..."
Before she could respond, Chasina gasped when Ballister happily launched himself and embraced her. He swung her around and kept her in his arms as tight and as long as he could while laughing happily. She happily reciprocated the hug as she rested her chin on his shoulder.
Ballister set Chasina down and shouted happily while hugging her again, IT'S YOU! IT'S REALLY YOU! OH, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Oh, look at you! Oh, standing right here! I thought you were-"
"Dead?" Chasina cut him off, "Not yet! Nothing can keep this woman dead."
"Where were you?" Ballister asked curiously.
"Oh, I was just here and there. I was just around this kingdom. I'm almost everywhere," Chasina said.
"Really? You were just around?" Ballister asked worriedly before changing to cross, "Hey, I've been around the kingdom, and I haven't even seen you!"
"Not hard enough! You know I'm very good at hiding and you're not the only smart knight in the block."
"Hey, hey, hey, don't raise your voice at me, you stubborn stupid head!"
The two got into a sibling quarrel… something that Ballister and Chasina missed doing with each other as they smiled in delight, feeling good for doing this again like real siblings.
"I really missed you so much, Bal," Chasina chuckled while throwing her arms around her big brother.
Ballister hugged back before looking down to notice Chasina's prosthetic leg. He bent down with a look of worry. Ballister never knew Chasina had to lose a leg. And worst, he and Ambrosius weren't there to aid her. He didn't know when she lost her leg, but it might've been a while since there was no blood dripping or any complaint from her about it. This meant Chasina lost her leg more than a year or so during her disappearance. Ballister might've lost an arm, but he didn't want Chasina to lose a leg. He didn't want any of his loved ones to lose a limb or any body part like he had, but it happened anyway… to just one of them. He looked up to Chasina, his eyes already had questions.
"Lost it in an accident," That was the only answer she had. She didn't want to explain more details.
As much as he was impressed that Chasina survived without a leg, Ballister still felt sorry for her that she had to suffer like he did before. But then again, he formed a smile. He was impressed that she built a new leg all by herself. He never felt so proud that his adoptive sister was so independent now.
"And you built your own leg! Brilliant! Leg or no, you're still every bit the woman you were 5 years ago!" Ballister stood up and hugged Chasina once again, "Please, you have to come inside," he held her hands and pulled her in.
"Oh, I don't mean to intrude, but alright," How could even turn the offer by her big brother? Chasina stepped inside and the door closed.
While inside, Ballister couldn't help but hold Chasina's hands tighter. It was like he still couldn't let her go. He missed her so much. Chasina was a little uncomfortable with Ballister's grip, especially with his metallic hand, but she held his hands tight as well, gesturing that she promised she'd never leave him again.
"So, Boss," the sibling reunion moment interrupted when Nimona spoke up, watching the whole scene like she was never there, "Would you introduce to me this person who I still think is a complete stranger?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot she was right beside us.," Ballister chuckled in embarrassment as Chasina chuckled along with him. Ballister cleared his throat, "Nimona, this is Chasina Moonlight. She is a sweet friend of mine and a little sister I never had."
"Whoa, you have a sister?" Nimona grinned surprisingly.
"Adoptive, actually," Chasina corrected.
Nimona then approached Chasina with a hand offering to her, "And my name is Nimona."
"Yeah, I know, I..." Chasina was supposed to a handshake greeting to Nimona, but she was cut off in surprise.
Nimona couldn't help but notice Chasina's prosthetic leg as she instantly held onto it while Chasina kept herself standing up with just one leg when the other was held up, "Whoa! Yeah! Awesome leg! Was it painful?"
"Huh?" Chasina was uncomfortable being asked that question as she couldn't describe how painful when she chopped her own leg.
Then, Nimona slowly turned to Chasina with a scary look and sharp teeth shown, "Did you keep the old one?"
"What?! No! Let go!" Chasina pulled her leg away from Nimona and got a little scared, "Gosh, you're creepier in person."
Nimona chuckled and smiled delightfully, "Aww, thank you."
"Glad you take it as a compliment," Chasina smirked playfully.
Nimona then turned to ask Ballister, "So, Boss, why didn't you tell me about this sister of yours?"
Chasina gasped dramatically, acting like she was hurt with a hand on her left chest, "You never told her about me? Oh, I'm so hurt, bro. So hurt."
Ballister chortled in embarrassment before admitting, "Look, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I never told Nimona about you. There were… a lot of things going on," he couldn't directly recall what happened a year ago.
Chasina nodded calmly. She remembered everything that happened as she also didn't like to discuss it either. Ballister was the victim here, so she didn't want to pressure him into talking about it, "Yeah. I heard everything that happened last year, and… I'm sorry."
Ballister reached for Chasina's arm with his prosthetic hand and held a gentle grip, "Hey, you got nothing to apologize. This has nothing to do with you. You barely even part of it."
"That was it. I was barely part of it… or I wasn't either," Chasina muttered with guilt as she sat down on a nearby stool, "I wish I could've been there for you."
"Hey, wherever you were that time, it's a good thing you weren't there, so you'd be safe."
"Still, I wish I could've done more."
"Eh, it wasn't a big deal. Boss and I handled things easily," Nimona scoffed, trying to cheer Chasina up.
Chasina rolled her eyes, "Oh yeah, just like when you beat up those knights at the Institute headquarters?" Ballister and Nimona were a little surprised that Chasina recalled that day because they had never seen her at the place. How did she know about that? "Or when you guys escaped at the marketplace."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa… how did you know that?" Nimona asked as she remembered that she never saw Chasina at the marketplace too.
"Well, it's not a big kingdom. Like I said, I was around," Chasina answered.
"So…, you were there the whole time?" Ballister asked with a surprising yet heartwarming voice when he realized that Chasina was helping him and Nimona without showing herself that time.
"Not all of it. You should appreciate that you two had an extra pair of hands when you were breaking stuff back at the Institute castle," Chasina smirked while closing her fist.
"You…" Ballister rushly hugged Chasina while ruffling her hair. He had never known that his adoptive little sister was helping him in the shadows. It was like she never left his side ever since she left, "You cheeky idiot! I could've seen you there!"
"Lucky for me, I was stealthy! Besides, I can't be shown just yet. I… I wasn't ready… As in, I wasn't ready to explain what happened when I left," Chasina frowned, ashamed to explain about her disappearance.
Ballisterr ever wondered what happened with Chasina and why she suddenly left without telling him and Ambrsoius, but it didn't matter because Chasina was here and finally came home, "Well, you should be able to open up about this on your own time. But we'll have plenty of time now that you're here."
"That'll be great," Chasina smiled while holding his flesh hand, "I miss you so much, Bal."
"I miss you too, Chas. I really do," Ballister replied while giving Chasina another hug.
The moment was interrupted when Nimona cleared her throat louder to get Ballister and Chasina's attention, "So, I hate to interrupt the sibling reunion, but tell me so much about you."
"About me?" Chasina asked surprisingly, "Nobody's interested in me before," In her life, Chasina was a nobody, and she wasn't known to the whole kingdom except for Ballister and Ambrosius. No other people had ever asked her about her life or her feelings. It was probably because she had no reputation, no title, no anything. At least there was someone outside her friendship circle who asked about herself, "Well, I used to train at the academy. The queen brought me in. I used to live in the streets, but my life couldn't get any better ever since I met my big brother," she wrapped an arm on Ballister's back. That was when Ballister began to wonder why Chasina didn't mention Ambrosius in her sentence. He was also there when they met Chasina when they were still children.
"You know, I couldn't help but ask… how did you help us back at the Institute castle? You didn't even have a sword," Nimona wondered about it since Chasina mentioned she used to be a trainee of the Institute along with Ballister and came here without a sword or a scabbard.
"I used these," Chasina pulled a circular hairpin from her pocket.
Ballister gaped happily as he remembered that hairpin… he made that hairpin for Chasina when they were still young, "The hairpin I gave you."
"Well, no, this…" Chasina pointed to the hairpin on her hair, "… is the hairpin you gave me. This…" She held the other hairpin with her fingers, "…is a copy. I used this as my own weapon. Watch this."
Chasina demonstrated by tossing the hairpin into the air where it hit a flower vase on the window, then it bounced onto a wall before hitting a chain with a hook, and back to Chasina, who caught it with her own hand.
Both Ballister and Chasina were impressed by Chasina's hairpin-toss technique. Even a sword can be disarmed with that kind of weapon. Small but dangerous kind of weapon.
"Wooow, that was so cool! Can I try one?" Nimona asked while extending her hand.
"Knock yourself out," Chasina flipped the hairpin into the air like a coin, and Nimona caught it.
Nimona then tossed the hairpin like how Chasina did, but it wasn't exactly how Chasina used it when the hairpin only crashed into a microwave, exploding it.
Well, they won't have a microwave anymore. They just bought that microwave, and yet they won't have one anymore. Ballister was distraught about the microwave, but Nimona and Chasina found it satisfying as the former made rock hand gestures with both her hands, "Metal!"
"Nice throw!" Chasina complimented.
Ignoring the microwave, Ballister was still impressed that Chasina would use a small useless object as an indestructible weapon, "I can't believe you would use the hairpin I gave to you when we were kids as your weapon."
"Well, I didn't have my sword, so I compromised, and used the things I got… and the hairpin is the only thing I can see as a weapon," Chasina explained while still pointing the real hairpin on her hair.
"I gotta hand it to you, Bluey…" Nimona was about to comment before asking, "Can I call you Bluey?"
Chasina was a little uncomfortable with that nickname since it described her signature color and her color outfit, "No…"
"Bluey it is!" To Chasina's surprise, Nimona's grinning and exciting face was already right in front of her, "I never thought you would be this cool."
But Ballister doubted that since Chasina was known to be the "weakest" out of him and Ambrosius combined, "Oh please, Chasina wasn't that cool. I bet she wouldn't dodge this!" He threw his prosthetic fist at Chasina, but, much to his surprise, she gripped onto his fist.
"I don't dodge..." Chasina didn't hesitate when she swung Ballister upwards before throwing him down on the table. He felt a slight pain in his back, but it wasn't so critical. He was so shocked about Chasina's ability that he never knew she had it in her, "I'm flexible."
Nimona laughed when she saw her boss being defeated by a woman, "Now that was cool! She's cooler than you, Boss!"
Ballister deadpanned. It might be a tease, but he thought Nimona liked Chasina more than him now. Chasina offered him her hand as he accepted it, and she helped him stand up. Ballister then smiled, feeling speechless about Chasina's ability, and realized she changed a bit, but a good change.
"You know, why don't we go out to our favorite restaurant? We should hang out again, just like we used to do," Ballister suggested, walking towards his computer to get his phone.
"Now I can't wait for that," Chasina said excitedly.
"And we'll stop by at the headquarters to get Ambrosius!" He suggested.
Chasina excitement turned to distraught, "Noooo! What?! No!"
Ballister was shocked by Chasina's reaction when he mentioned Ambrosius, "Wha—Chas, this is Ambrosius! You love that guy!"
"Used to, but now I don't!" Chasina crossed her arms and looked away upsettingly.
But Ballister refused to believe this. Chasina had never shown signs of hatred before, especially for or about Ambrosius, "Whoa, Chas, what's wrong with you? You always loved Ambrosius. You always looked up to him like he was your mentor."
"Look, that was before, okay?! Things changed now, as so was he," Chasina murmured, remembering how the "change" in Ambrosius made her feel different about him.
"Oh, now I like her already," Nimona snickered sinisterly. She also had the same dislike towards Ambrosius because of how he treated Ballister, "What do you think you'll do when you see him?"
"I'm gonna kill him," Chasina smiled, pulling out a knife.
Nimona grinned, "That's what I'm talking about! Love her!"
"But he's lucky because I don't want to see him anymore."
"Off, that's just cruel… I like it!"
But Ballister never found this funny. He was so suspicious as to why Chasina suddenly showed some signs of hatred towards Ambrosius. Even mentioning his name tipped her off. It wasn't hate yet, but it sounded close to it, "Chasina, what's gotten into you? Ambrosius would be very happy to see you."
"Will he though?" Chasina doubted while crossing her arms, thinking if Ambrosius ever wanted to see a friend… or if he needed a friend at all.
"Of course! He misses you and he loves you! He was so worried when you were gone for a while."
"I highly doubted that. I even doubt if he ever wants to see me."
"That's not true, Chas."
"Oh please. Like you believe in that. I don't think he'll ever want to see a friend."
Now that was rude, even for Chasina. Ballister began to wonder why she said something so mean about Ambrosius. She'd never said things like that before. She had always been a nice girl. Suspiciously, she was only nice to him, but not to Ambrosius when he was brought up in the conversation.
Having enough of waiting for Chasina's explanation, Ballister moved closer to her, and asked curiously, "Okay, I had enough curiosity for one day, but I want to know this. What's going on with you, Chas?"
"Nothing!" Chasina stubbornly shouted.
Ballister didn't buy that, "It's not nothing. Why do you suddenly have a grudge against Ambrosius?"
"Seriously! You don't know?" Chasina was surprised that Ballister had no idea. It was like what happened between Iim and Ambrosius never happened.
In truth, Ballister never knew the reason, "No. I don't."
Chasina hated to recall what happened last year… what happened between Ballister and Ambrosius… her two brothers who were supposed to be best friends… one of them betrayed the other… betrayed their friendship, and Chasina believed that friendship sank along with her "Well, I don't want to talk about it."
"Come on, Chasina, it's just me. Why are you acting like this?" Ballister asked with a smile, hoping that smile built trust.
Chasian wanted to tell Ballister what was going on with her, but she was still upset to talk about it, "It's complicated, okay?"
"Did you do something to you?"
"No!"
"What did he do to make you so mad?"
"I told you, I don't want to talk about it!"
Chasina's loud voice made Ballister startle a little and Nimona surprise by this reaction. As much as Nimona liked Chasina's attitude, she was concerned why this was a big deal. Chasina realized she raised her voice too aggressively as she shook her head and calmed down. She looked away from Ballister while her arms were still crossed, still stayed silent.
Ballister sighed, thinking of giving up and asking Chasina what her deal against his boyfriend was. Yet, he didn't want to pressure Chasina to confess. He didn't want this to ruin his reunion with her. He just got his sister back and he wanted this day to be happy and special, "Look, maybe we can talk about it when we head out to eat."
Chasina calmed her anger down and turned back at Ballister, "Well, I can do that, but not talking about Ambrosius, okay?! I don't want to talk about him or mention his name. You got that?!"
"Alright, alright, why don't you head out first and we'll follow you," Ballister walked towards the door and opened the door for Chasina like a gentleman.
Chasina appreciated the gesture as she causally walked out. Ballister and Nimona followed behind her… not before getting into a quiet conversation between the two while the latter wasn't listening or looking.
"You're not sticking to your word, huh?" Nimona guessed.
"Nope. I have another plan," Ballister said quietly.
Chasina didn't hear their conversation. She cleared her throat and said, "Come on. I'll take you guys to my car."
"You have a car?!" Ballister exclaimed in surprise.
"Yep," Right there, Chasina pulled out the covers, revealing her car. She covered the car right after she parked it in the area, just for safety, "Once I had enough money from my multiple jobs, I decided to buy one and the dealer offered me a cheap deal," she opened the passenger door while explaining.
"I call shotgun!" Nimona yelled excitedly as she zoomed in as a pink aura into the passenger seat.
Chasina rolled her eyes and let Nimona take the seat. She didn't mind at all.
"Hey Chas, mind if I take the wheel?" Ballister requested.
"Well, I wanna try sitting at the back row, so… alright, but this is still my car," Chasina said as Ballister nodded in agreement.
Ballister opened the back door for her, and Chasina got in before the former closed the door for her. Ballister then took the driver's seat before closing the door and started to drive the car. All part of the plan… Although the car wasn't expected to be part of his plan, he took it as an advantage to go along with his plan.

I love the tsu'tey lives au and the Spellman siblings! 💙🩵
I can't help but wonder how'd Tsu'tey react to them and their situation, especially if he didn't realize/notice the whole thing (the siblings adopting/raising Spider & living at Hell's Gate) till later on when the twin where like 13/14.
((I know he'd probably notice earlier bit we can pretend that he was busy with adjusting to life with his injuries/helping Jake be olo'eyktan))
he knew of the infamous 'spellman siblings' around the village, a group of 3 - previously four - children who were incredibly intelligent, prone to violence, and extremely protective of spider. he also knew they were raised by norm spellman, the 'nerd' as jake called him.
spider talked of them frequently, he was practically obsessed with the kids, many would argue they were family. tsu'tey, as much as he loved the kid, was happy to have another set of hands helping him out when he was stretched thin. he had a lot on his plate, jake needing guidance as the new olo'ekytan, his own disabilities to learn to work around, a rambunctious toddler/child (why did they grow so fast? he looked away for five seconds and the little five year old clinging to his leg was suddenly almost 10 and very much not a toddler anymore. it broke his heart a little more then he'd like to admit). he had met the kids a few times, though they seemed weary of the village people, himself included; he knew some had harsh feelings on them taking spider in, he faced it himself, and had attempted to squash it with little success. but even when he tried reaching out to the little ones, they shied away from him as well; knowing they lost so much so young, has been raised by an avatar in a lab, and had formed a bit of a secluded bond to spider, made him assume that they were just shy kids who clung to familiar family.
he had just assumed that spider was in their care while out in the world, and went home with them to his adoptive family, or at very least the 'nerd.' he was wrong. sure he saw the signs of neglect in the little human, it was easy when he was the odd one out, when the reason for his neglect was obvious (even if it was wrong, tsu'tey knew, and had excepted why it happened). it was a lot harder to spot it in kids that already had their own issues before the neglect began; the loss of their elder sister, amongst many other children they were close with, shot in front of them. the death of their parents, their people, their home. it spelled trouble for their young minds, so tsu'tey stupidly assumed that had been the reason the whole time, not the fact they were being raised by people on screens and raising an orphan on their own.
he realized it slowly, over the span of a few months, something was off, more off than he could stomach. it was little things; the older two were defensive against any adults, including the man that should be their father, being near spider. this extended to him, and it took spider begging and promising that tsu'tey was ok, "he's not like them" he said. then he realized how they never spoke of parents, not their own, not norm, not the scientists, or the adoptive family of spiders. they didn't have parents, they had each other, and that was it. then as they began spending more and more time at Hellsgate, their stuff, their voices, there presence began to dwindle from the village, until one day they were gone. as spider trained under tsu'tey the kids became more and more used to his presence, and clung to him more and more each day. something was wrong, so wrong, and he couldn't put his finger on it.
then he talked to norm, who claimed they had 'aged out' of his care, said they stopped seeing him as a dad, so he let them go on with their own lives. he assumed they were fine, and not wanting to overstep as the 'second' parent.
he talked to the siblings, hoping, praying, that somehow, someway, what they were going to say would fix this, make this normal. it didn't. when they took on spider, and norm didn't take him in as his own, didn't try, even when he knows the poor thing needed it. when norm rejected spider, the twins rejected him, and set out to be parents to their two younger siblings.
after that, he slowly built a relationship with the kids, inviting them to stay with him and spider (he stayed with him once a week), sleeping their hammock, eat meals with them, join them for lessons. eventually he works them back into the village, not completely, norm may not be there home, but the lab was, and spider couldn't stay out in the village every night, it was too dangerous. but he did make them feel like they had a place, a home, someone to love them and take care of them and their fragile baby brother.
he has a bone to pick with the people of hellsgate by the end of his little discovery and attempts to mend the damage of said discovery, but, at the end of the day he had 4 kids instead of one, a little family to call his own, and he got introduced to digital media, which movie nights are a win in his mind. cause listen, he is disabled, stressed out with jake and all the other adults being stupid, and 4, wildly smart and energetic kids. having a time where he can lay out and relax in a pillow fort, with his kids in his arms, watching some shitty (amazing, cause the siblings have amazing taste) human movies, that sounds pretty nice to him.
