I have been thinking about Shinichiro asking about him wanting a romantic relationship so badly and getting rejected 20 times consecutively. It is rather impressive when you remember this guy dislike efforts

I agree with your headcanon about Shin and why he wants to pursue but I guess it might be a subconscious do to prove everyone wrong talk behind his back and how his father cheated and their marriage ended because I am from a Asian society. I know things like this is taken as gossip alot especially if your wife is dying from a illness. I wonder if Shinichiro hear often his relatives and neighbours pitying him about his parents situation and everyone and this just make him bitter and proves everyone wrong that he too can have a healthy romantic relationship without any problems his parent's marriage had. Food for thought.
