i was poking around sidequests in ahm araeng earlier today and there was one of this man where you go with him to this place on the train bridges. and he tells you about his friend who got into an accident there and died; they were trying to get the trolley carts working again without the talos around and his friend had a tragic accident trying to keep their livelihood alive.
you toss a flower over the edge of the bridge and he says that it looks as if you have lost many a loved one. and he asks you “how do you deal with the grief?”
and one of the answers is: “when the tears come, I let them flow” and yeah. I’ve been thinking about it all day

Tumblr media
“Im sorry, what my lady?”
“I wish for you to marry my daughter.”
This is not how jacaerys thought this would go. When he arrived in the vale he thought he thought he would have to make simple small talk, present some of the benefits, hells even throw some complements her way in order to convince her. This however had not been in his cards.
“I'm sorry my lady i do not understand.”
“My daughter, y/n remains unmarried, around your age, a sweet girl, agree to wed her and me and my men will bend the knee.”
He blinks. He has no clue what to say to her. Jeyne stands after a moment, “I shall go fetch her.” He watches as one of the guards tries to stop her and tells her he will go retrieve the girl but Jeyne seems determined to go herself and he moves letting her leave. Jacaerys stands awkwardly in the middle of the room unsure of what to do.
He is not too sure he can just flat out agree to a proposal without his mother position, it is not like he is a second son, he is the heir to the queen. The next king, his wife to be the next queen. Yet when he sees you walking into the room, wearing a long dress in your house colors with your mother trialing behind with a pleased look on her face he finds himself wanting to agree to the marriage right away.
You are stunning. Easily the most beautiful women he’s ever seen, sure he hasn’t seen that many women but it doesn’t matter. He watches as you bow and mindlessly nods in acknowledgment, unable to take his eyes off you.
Jeyne looks between the two of you with a satisfied look. “Why don’t you show the prince around?” She gives you a pointed look to which you nod, “Of course i would be happy to.”
He walks over and offers you his arm with a smile on his face and you graceful take it before you begin to walk off with him. Jeyne stays behind and smiles to herself.
“My mother is very forward i apologize to you.” He simply shakes his head, he finds himself look at you instead of the halls he’s supposed to be looking at. “It is not an issue my lady, I rather appreciate it.” You look at him curiously but turn away once you notice he is already looking at you. “Whatever do you mean?”
“Many people speak in riddles, not saying what they mean or truly want, your mother is a rare gem.” You smile at the praise of your mother, “She truly is.”
You lead him outside and begin to tell him about the different plants and different sculptures around the courtyards. He is so charmed by you. The way you light up when you spot something and you begin to tell him of a memory you have, like how your mother scolded you for jumping around in the fountain, or when you almost fell out of one of the window's when you fell asleep.
“You truly love this place.” He can tell. The way you smile at the guards as they walk by or the way you know every detail about everything in the walls. But he sees the way you falter slightly at his words, “Am i wrong?”
You shake your head vigorously, “no no i do, its just i have never been away from here. My mother is a very protective woman, she waves away any suitors, she never even lets me leave the eyrie it is ridiculous!” You realize you're letting your emotions show too much and bow your head, “i am sorry that was out of line.”
He grabs your hands and you look at him with wide eyes. “I understand my lady, my mother is similar, i have truly never traveled to far, i wish to explore, once my mother has her rightful throne i believe i will take the time to see westeros a little bit,” He pauses before he speaks again, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly, “I could take you with me? if that is what you wish my lady.”
He watches as your eyes begin to glow and you beam at him, “truly? oh nothing would make me happier.” He nods and grips your hands tighter, “I shall take you everywhere.”
He does not expect you to throw your hands around his neck and pull him into a hug. He wraps his hands around your lower back, pushing his head into your neck and breathing in your scent. “I will accept your mothers propsal at once. You will fly with me to winterfell.” You pull back and give him an eager look. “Winterfell? Truly?” He nods, “I am to go meet lord cregan stark.”
You can barely contain your excitement at the thought of seeing something that was not the eyrie, especially a place as grand as winterfell.
Jeyne watched you two smile at one another from a window above with a small smile on her face. She does not hear the guard approaching her from behind, “You seem pleased my lady.” She says nothing to him for a moment, simply continuing to stare at the two of you. “Tell my men to ready themselves for war. It seems he will accept my proposal.”

"I love him, Father, I truly truly do, I love him as much as Queen Naerys loved Prince Aemon the Dragonknight […]" (Sansa III, AGOT) “Wed?” Sansa was stunned. “You and my aunt?” “The Lord of Harrenhal and the Lady of the Eyrie.” You said it was my mother you loved. But of course Lady Catelyn was dead, so even if she had loved Petyr secretly and given him her maidenhood, it made no matter now. (Sansa VI, ASOS)
I find that these little passages reveal something interesting about sansa's personality. specially when you juxtapose how she's characterized in the text and her worldviews here, and how at first glance they may seem contradictory. but first, let's take two things into account:
the patriarchal society of westeros is very strict on women's sexuality. which means that not only is female virginity held in great value, but also female adultery is very firmly condemned by everyone, unlike men who are allowed to maintain public mistresses and flaunt their bastards everywhere.
sansa is characterized as the conformist, the one who internalizes her society's rules. she's very religious, she's a proper lady in every sense of the word and she often says and does exactly what she's told.
and yet, in these passages we can see that sansa does not care much about societal rules when it comes to intimate feelings. she often hails aemon and naerys' (supposed) forbidden love without a single care that queen naerys was bound by duty to a husband and aemon was meant to be loyal to his king. but most astonishing of all is her nonchalant response to petyr's (false) information that her mother was not a virgin when she married. on one hand it may speak on sansa's views towards women's sexuality, since her current friends (mya and randa) are girls who engage in sex out of wedlock, and she never judges them, just like she doesn't judge her mother for apparently doing the same, and catelyn continues to be the person she admires the most. sansa also doesn't view her parents' relationship any differently because of this, the marriage between ned and cat is still as happy as she remembers, because all that matters to her is that there was love in the home she grew up in. the thing about sansa's character is that she plays by the rules up until a certain point, but on the inside she always prioritizes emotion over societal norms, and that's why she looks more upset at petyr for marrying someone while claiming to love another, because in her mind he's being unfaithful to his heart by marrying out of practicality. we have examples that showcase sansa's prioritizing feelings in AGOT when she, the good daughter, disobeys her father for the first time because she thought she was in love with joffrey, and in ASOS where she never thinks she owes tyrion anything just because he's her husband. so it comes as no surprise that she's so infatuated with the love story of an adulterous and incestuous relationship like aemon and naerys'. one of the main themes in this series is that feelings don't care about honor. and if love is the death of duty then sansa seems more than happy to see duty killed for the sake of love.
of course this doesn't mean she'll stay that way, specially when she's already lost her so much of her innocence and is now tangled in petyr's schemes where she must set her own feelings aside in order to act on his plans. and despite her silent judgement of petyr marrying someone he didn't love, her current betrothal with harry is an entirely practical union on her part since she feels nothing for him and only sees him as a means to an end. there have been many instances since book 1 where she was able to turn off her feelings in order to withstand certain situations. so... what even is sansa's mind? an interesting universe on its own for sure.
I just think sansa's romanticism is one of her most interesting traits (for better and for worse), something that truly contributes to the distinctiveness of her character, and I really hope petyr or anyone else are unable to completely kill that in her.

My other works: Masterlist
_____
The First Letter One day of separation
My dearest Prince, know that my heart is torn by despair and disbelief. I pray for you and your health every day. I hope that as soon as you feel better we can meet. I am sending you books that I thought might interest you. Your Rheanys
The Second letter Five days of separation
My dearest Prince, I am writing to you to ask what is your state of health. I imagine that you must suffer terribly and that is why you have not found the strength to answer my letter. I promise to wait patiently for a word from you so that I may see you again. Your Rhaenys
The Third letter Two weeks of separation
My dearest Prince, Your silence worries me. I know that you are certainly angry with me and my brothers and I understand that. I want you to know that I am immensely, immensely sorry and I will do everything I can to ease your pain and suffering, if you will only let me. I miss you very much. Your Rheanys
The Fourth Letter Two months of separation
My dearest Prince, my mother is about to remarry, which will mean that we will be moving to Dragonstone permanently and will probably be visiting the Red Keep very rarely. I ask you for this grace to be able to see and embrace you before we set off on our journey. Your Rheanys
The Sixth Letter Six months of separation
My dearest friend, I've been practicing breathing fire with Larax today. Looking at her, I remembered how you visited her with me in the Dragon's Pit. I am convinced that my dragoness misses you as much as I do. I would love to know what your training with Vhagar is like. Your Rheanys
The Eighth Letter Ten months of separation
Today I heard a powerful storm outside the windows of our fortress. Lightning flashed through the sky as if it were the gods in their anger wanting to show their fury. It reminded me of a legend you once told me about, that it is the enraged Warrior who throws them in fury at men who bring dishonour to their fathers.
The Ninth Letter One year of separation
It has been a year since I saw you for the last time. Gods witness to me that my heart breaks at the very thought.
The Tenth Letter One year and two months of separation
Although I smile, my insides do not feel joy. It seems to me that I am no longer capable of it. The days flow through my fingers and I don't even notice it.
The Eleventh Letter One year and four months of separation
Me and my family are heading to the Eyrie to pay a visit to my mother's relatives. I've never been there before and I'd be delighted to share my thoughts on the place with you when we return. Rhaenys
The Twelfth Letter One year and six months of separation
The Eyrie is a beautiful fortress seeming to reach for the sky. The legendary Moon Door we both once read about are terrifying and, indeed, leaves the doomed with no chance of survival. My cousin, on the other hand, is a very emotional boy, even more so if something doesn't go his way. I assume this is due to the fact that he only has a sister whose opinion he does not value. I suspect he wouldn't arouse your sympathy either.
The Fourteenth Letter One year and ten months of separation
Larax is growing so fast. Daemon says that one more year and I can try to ride her. I can't wait to fly to the heavens on her back.
The Fifteenth Letter Two years of separation
The Septa says that a lady should never hold a blade in her hand. I must admit that I do not understand this reasoning. What if there is no man beside her to protect her? Is it better to be dead but full of dignity than alive and worthy of condemnation? I regret that I never asked you to teach me how to wield a sword.
The Seventeenth Letter Two years and four months of separation
I reminded myself that in a few days it will be your Name Day. I hope my letter will reach you along with my warmest wishes. I ask you to take care of your well-being and your health.
The Eighteenth Letter Two years and six months of separation
Today, something terrible happened, and although I know these things don't concern you or may even cause you disgust, I can't confide in anyone else about my suffering. My bloody flower has blossomed. My mother says that I have now become a woman, but I feel nothing of the sort. I feel dirty, I feel pain, I feel ashamed. I don't want to be a woman. I don't want to be a wife. I don't want to be a mother.
The Nineteenth Letter Two years and ten months of separation
I feel terror, uncle. When I wake up and fall asleep, when I embroider and eat, when I take a bath and read. I have a feeling that something is about to happen, but only a sullen silence surrounds me.
The Twenty-second Letter Three years and two months of separation
Does it sometimes seem to you too that you are living in a half-sleep? That the people around you are a smudge, that what they say reaches your ears but not your mind, that you feel and experience nothing? In the presence of my family it seems to me that this is just a figment of my imagination, but staying alone in my chamber I find that I put on a mask in front of them, under which there is nothing but silence.
The Twenty-third Letter Three years and six months of separation
I have been reflecting on our childhood recently. How charmingly naive we were then, how simple our lives seemed to me, and what the future held for us. It was always safe in your arms. It was a feeling I had not experienced for three years and would never experience again. It was not your strength or bravery that caused this, but your words, how perfectly you always understood me. Your rejection is a torment.
The Twenty-fifth Letter Three years and eight months of separation
Do you think we were really in love with each other then, when I kissed you for the first time? I have often wondered about this. I remember that day exactly, your emerald tunic, the smell of the lemon cake I brought you as a consolation. The taste of your lips, moist, full and warm, your heavy breath, your trembling hand that touched my cheek and your later request. I felt as if, without the presence of the Septon, we had become husband and wife in that moment.
The Twenty-sixth Letter Three years and ten months of separation
My mother gave birth to a healthy boy today, who was named Aegon. I thought the heavens had mocked me and my brothers when I saw his snow-white hair. I hope you feel satisfaction, uncle.
The Twenty-seventh Letter Four years of separation
Ever since Dragonstone resounded with the squeal of an infant, a little hope has risen in my heart. Little Aegon is growing fast and is very loud.
The Twenty-ninth Letter Four years and two months of separation
Today me and Daemon took a walk among the cliffs. I'm glad that he treats me like an adult and speaks to me about important things. Apart from him, only you have never treated me like a child.
The Thirty-second Letter Four years and eight months of separation
It's been four years since I haven't seen your face. It makes me wonder how much you've changed. Are you tall like Jace, have your hands, your arms, your stature changed. I try to imagine you often, but I catch myself with horror that your face is blurred in my memories and I cannot see it clearly.
The Thirty-third Letter Four years and ten months of separation
Today I flew on Larax for the first time. It was a terrifying and wonderful experience at the same time – my heart was pounding like mad as we took to the skies together. I didn't know it would be so loud, the wind and speed completely stunned me, but for the first time in months I felt free. As I flew I thought of you and your Vhagar.
The Thirty-sixth Letter Five years and four months of separation
I recently read the reflections of a philosopher that I wanted to share with you. He writes that every human being is like a fortress. The more walls we put up around us, the more secure we feel inside, but also the more isolated we become from the world. If we don't take the threat and leave it, no one sees us as we are and we become like the stones of which it was built – without feelings, without desires, without hope.
The Thirty-eighth Letter Five years and eight months of separation
I can't believe it's been almost six years since I've seen you. I'd like to say I'm in despair, but that's not quite true. I feel a great emptiness, as if I have a hole in my heart. It's not painful, but it's a bit like a tickle that makes it impossible for me to have peace of mind. My desire is to stop feeling anything at all.
The Fortieth Letter Six years of separation
I am sending you a piece of poetry that made me think of you: and though she did not know why, her heart remained turned towards him her body went forward, and an emptiness lingered inside her as if it was no longer a part of her
The Forty-third Letter Six years and six months of separation
Baela asked me if I had ever desired someone, and I didn't know what to answer her. What is desire? Is it a purely physical sensation or something that happens in the mind? I craved your kisses because they were warm and soft, because they made you as close to me as possible, joined with me by your body. I craved all of that, not just the touch of your lips.
The Forty-sixth Letter Seven years of separation
I was reflecting today on what duty is. The duty of a husband to his wife, a wife to her husband, a son to his mother, a daughter to her father. I always wanted to be faithful to our family because I thought it was one. Now that it has been cut exactly in half, I feel that although I want it to be united, I am contributing by my very existence to its further disintegration and destruction. We control the dragons, but we cannot control our own vanity.
The Forty-seventh Letter Seven years and two months of separation
Have you ever wondered what Essos and the temples of Old Valyria looked like? How powerful was the kingdom of our ancestors? And what remains of it? Balerion is a mere skull, the temples are ancient ruins. Ashes and dust.
The Fiftieth Letter Seven years and eight months of separation
I'm being affected by that terrifying emptiness again, uncle. I thought maybe it was simple melancholy, but this is something else, more disturbing, as if someone is sneaking up on me in a dark room. My mind is constantly vigilant, constantly sharpened. Even when I sleep, I don't rest, I wake up in the morning more tired than the evening before, and my mouth, though many words would like to leave it, remains closed.
The Fifty-second Letter Seven years and ten months of separation
Sometimes I think I have gone deaf. My mother or brother say something to me, I look at them but I don't hear them or understand them. I respond with anything, I don't know what myself, and I return to my mind, locking myself in. I get distracted too easily and I don't know what it is caused by. Even when I read, I catch myself looking at a certain point for many minutes, being on the same page over and over again. I am in my chamber with my body but not my soul – I eat, drink, sleep but I experience nothing, nothing pleases or saddens me. I exist in a world that is nothing but an unpleasant disappointment to me, and whose strict rules I have long since come to terms with.
The Last Letter Eight years of separation
Dragonstone appears to me like a prison, like a black coffin, the sky above me full of clouds. I can’t remember the last time light dawned in my heart − when I wake up I wonder for a moment about the meaning of it all, only to realise that thinking about it is pointless, it only sinks me further into the darkness. It seems that the more I move away from what surrounds me, the greater the silence that settles in my head. After what happened something inside me died. Not in the aspect of my body, but in the sense of a conviction that something is missing, like when you look in a mirror reassembled from hundreds of pieces and, even though it is whole again, you can clearly see its cracks. I wonder, are you sleeping well, uncle? Are you having nightmares again? I often return in my dreams to that night. I see you and although I want to say something, I can’t get anything out, just as I did then. I wake up with the conviction that I am still a child. I pray a lot, although I don’t know myself to which gods anymore. I guess to any of who would be willing to listen to me. They don’t answer me, just like you.

“The Blacks won because it’s Rhaenyra’s bloodline that continues on.”
Ok, first of all, Aegon II made Aegon III his heir. Rhaenyra was dragon chow by then. Rhaenyra wanted the iron throne more than anything else, and she only held power for 6 months before the small folk had enough of her bullshit. Six months. She managed to rule for half a year before she was overthrown, not by a usurper, but by her own people. Clearly, not a good ruler if you can’t even make it a year without getting chased out of your castle.
Second, Rhaenyra’s bloodline managed to fumble the ball two feet from the finish line. It started with Aegon the Unworthy and it ended with the mad king being overthrown just before the long night. Just one more generation was all they needed to last, and they fucked everything up so bad it put the entire world of men at risk. That… that takes skill. You have to actively TRY to fuck up that much.
After the conquest, there was noted to be one “good” king, and that was Jaehaerys. Between conquest and dance, Jaehaerys was noted as being a good, wise king. Aenys managed to have a mob trap his oldest two children in a distant castle right before he died. Then Maegor stepped in. He may have been decent if it weren’t for the brain damage. Most of the things he did before the battle on the hill were either rumors or just not that bad. He was also very against Kinslaying. Imo, one of the worst things he did was punish everyone involved in the Kinslaying in The Eyrie. Seems kind of strange he would dole out such a harsh punishment only to then kill his nephew in a very one sided dragon battle. That was the first thing he did after he woke up, though. Considering he had such a drastic change in personality, we can’t say how his rule would have been otherwise.
After Maegor’s death, Jaehaerys steps in. You know what made him a good, worthy king? Not the fact that he was a male, or could fight, or held the bloodline, or even that he rode the bronze fury. It was because he listened to the council of his queen. Alysanne was the real MVP of his reign. She did more for women’s rights than any other queen. She listened to her people. That is the mark of a good ruler. Walk softly, but carry a big stick. Know when to speak and when to listen.
People who know they have power and control don’t need to constantly remind others. They know. It’s not necessary to maim or murder people for speaking the truth, yet Viserys and Rhaenyra do just that.
When Saera majorly fucked up, they handled it. Not the way Alysanne wanted, by the way. She was sent to apprentice with the Silent Sisters just for sleeping with men while not married. Yet Rhaenyra can have 3 obvious bastards, insult the house with the largest naval force and prove to the entire kingdom that her words mean nothing, and Viserys still declares anyone who calls the strong boys bastards would lose their tongue.
Sorry, what? The Valaryons are one of the richest houses in the realm. They control most of the naval fleet. Maybe don’t make their son a cuckold?
“They had an open marriage!”
NO ONE ELSE KNOWS THAT. To the court and the small folk, Rhaenyra promised to be faithful to Laenor in front of the eyes of the gods, and she very obviously didn’t keep that vow. Why should they trust anything she says as Queen if she can’t even do something as simple as not birthing bastards? That’s what most people don’t realize in the bastard debate.
Whether you can prove it or not, the strong boys don’t look like either of their alleged parents. Like, at all. Even Aegon’s drunk ass could tell shit didn’t add up. Commoners are not going to be any different. They are going to know, and whether they can say it or not, it will still affect how they feel towards her. Can’t keep your marriage vows, why should I believe that you have my best interest at heart?
Because she doesn’t. She is a horrible ruler that lasted less than a year before the small folk rose up and drove her out. She feasted while they starved. It’s that self centered mentality that taints the bloodline and leads to The Unworthy.
Clearly no one learned about not having bastards, and this mofo decided to legitimize them on his death bed. Wasn’t going to be his problem, now was it? He died, someone else has to clean up his mess.
Hmm, not knowing how to clean up your own bastard mess, sounds familiar… oh, like Rhaenyra forcing her father to crawl from his death bed to make sure no one said mean (and true) things about her.
So I’m sorry, what were people saying about her being a good ruler? ‘Cause everywhere I look, I see another reason she should not have ascended the throne.

“According to traditional Andal customs, a son comes before a daughter bla bla bla.”
I don’t know how many times I need to say this:
Tradition is NOT law.
At the time of Viserys’ reign, there was no succession law in place. Nowhere was it written that a woman cannot inherit the Iron Throne. If such a law existed, the Greens wouldn’t have hesitated to hiss about it for years. Not to mention that Viserys would have had to amend it.
Everyone just expected the King to choose his eldest son as heir. And then, Viserys decided to keep his daughter as heir even after a son was born to him. *gasp* + *Pikachu face* Unexpected…unheard of…shocking…but not against the law.
Because let’s be clear about something: what isn’t clearly illegal, is actually perfectly legal.
The Realm had no problem having Lady Jeyne Arryn as Lady of the Eyrie, Defender of the Vale and Warden of the East, a very powerful Paramount House. So what are we talking about here exactly?
A woman as ruler of a Kingdom was very much possible. Lady Jeyne was living proof of that.
As far as I know the only ones who actually had a problem with Rhaenyra inheriting the throne were the Hightowers and Vaemond Velaryon. Why? Because they had something to gain by contesting it.
The Hightowers were greedy and desperate for a chance to have their blood on the throne and Vaemond Velaryon, Corlys’ nephew (not his brother), wanted to take Driftmark for himself, and in order for that to happen, he needed to contest the legitimacy of Lucerys’ birth and by extension, Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne.
Rhaenyra had 53 Houses supporting her. 53. She also had the biggest population and the largest territories on her side: the North, the Vale, the Riverlands, the Iron Islands, half the Reach, and the Crownlands. Not to mention that the North and the Vale had the most powerful armies in the Realm.
Aegon only had 28 Houses, with his territories being the Stormlands, the Westerlands and half the Reach.
The great majority of the Realm had absolutely no problem with a woman taking the Iron Throne. The only ones loud about it were the Hightower snakes, and they didn’t even have a leg to stand on.
Not to mention that Rhaenyra was protected by the Widow’s Law. This is an actual law which protects the interests of the children from a first marriage in case the children’s parent remarries and has other children (idea of Queen Alysanne herself). According to this law, children from the first marriage cannot be disinherited in favor of children from a second marriage if there is no just cause. Since there is no succession law, and Rhaenyra was made heir before Aegon’s birth, in front of many Lords who swore to uphold her claim, she is the rightful Queen.
The Greens started an unnecessary war, which cost many innocent lives simply because they got greedy and refused to let the transition of power take its natural course…and in their stupidity, paved the way for the sons of Daemon Targaryen (their greatest enemy) to inherit the throne.

could you review some of the neopets as animals outfits, like the fennec kacheek, red panda vandagyre, and cockatiel pteri? (those are examples, choose whichever you like!) thank you <3
(Note: I included a random selection of outfits in this post, but feel free to send in asks if anyone wants to see a specific outfit I didn't cover.)
I'll be honest, I'm personally not super big on the "outfit that resembles a real-world animal" trend. First, I play Neopets for the cool fantasy creatures; even the most true-to-life Neopets species have some pretty fantastical colors. I feel like making pets just look exactly like actual animals kind of defeats the purpose of them being Neopets. I get why people would like it and I'm not saying it's bad; it's just not my thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, the other reason I'm not always big on these outfits is that a lot of Neopets have colours that already resemble real animal patterns. Not only do the outfits blur the colour/customization line quite a bit, but usually I like the colour ones much more, as they keep the actual design of the Neopets in place and just change the patterns and colors, rather than covering up the fun fantasy elements. This also helps them avoid the uncanny valley effect, which I talk about more below.
Also I might be over thinking this but who is making these outfits. None of these animals seem to exist in-universe as far as we're aware. what are the shopkeepers basing these off of. the colours at least have a magic as an excuse
Examples that I think are okay:
Tumblr media
Feathery Pteri Outfit: This one's nice! I like the layered patterning on the wings and the high-contrast colors. Most, though, I like that this sticks fairly close to the actual pet, mostly just changing up the tail shape. This almost could've been a paintbrush colour, but then again what colour is up in the air.
(Side note: the eye clipping over the beak is a rendering issue? I think?)
Tumblr media
Bouncing Zafara: This one definitely strays farther from the actual pet than the Pteri, but it's a fitting animal choice and it doesn't fall into the uncanny valley, which is all I care about. The body is still somewhat recognizable as a Zafara in terms of shape, and the Miamouse as the joey is super cute.
Tumblr media
Freshwater Lenny: Kind of the same case as the Zafara; not super one-to-one with the actual pet, but it's still recognizable as a Lenny and isn't too uncanny. The legs are a particularly nice touch, actually changing the pose to look more heron-like (though they are also the part that strays dangerously into being too detailed).
Please don't:
Tumblr media
Adorable Kacheek: Sorry to the fans of this one, but this outfit just resides deep within the uncanny valley to me—like it's a mascot suit instead of just a normal pet. The artstyle is way off from Neopets, looking much more Subeta-ish (except Subeta's art usually isn't so off putting). It's not a bad artstyle, mind you, it's just not very Neopets-ish. I also feel like a fennec fox was also a bad pick for this one, as it's basically unrecognizable as a Kacheek at all.
Tumblr media
Feathered Eyrie: Speaking of the uncanny valley, this is another pet that lands squarely there due to having entirely too much detail in the shading and weirdly realistic fur textures. It also just doesn't look very good aesthetically—the beak doesn't fit the face, and the wings are an absolute trainwreck (not only is the perspective wrong, but the left wing is coming from the middle of its back!). On the plus side, you'd be hard pressed to not recognize this as an Eyrie, and it's a fantasy creature instead of a regular animal, so I guess that's something?
Tumblr media
Furry Meerca: Hmm... no. This one also suffers from an overly-detailed artstyle and way too much realism, which is especially jarring when placed on top of the Meerca's heavily stylized body shape, resulting in a perfectly round animal with hyper-realistic animal eyes. It's also particularly bothersome because we already had a chipmunk Meerca design in the form of the striped Meerca colour, which is just this but less soul-haunting:
Tumblr media
Which is what I meant at the beginning when I was talking about colours vs outfits. The colour is a Meerca that looks like a chipmunk; the outfit is a chipmunk that looks like a Meerca. Big difference.

birthday headcanons
Today is this best boi’s 267th birthday 🎂 and he deserves all the love

He may not be big on birthdays, but your care for him is warmly welcomed.
Waking him up with kisses, or breakfast in bed, that doe-eyed smile shines brighter than the sun.
Personalized gifts, be it canon or modern AU, are touching because he sees them as the tenderness you extend to him.
Saying “happy birthday” in his language is a sure way for emotions.
Plans are something very low-key but also intimate. Maybe a nice nature walk, or a quiet picnic just before the sun sets with its pink, orange and purple hues.
All complete with a shy kiss that melts into an intense embrace. Arms wrapped protectively around you as you sigh deeply into him before pulling away.
A look of deep admiration and love that burns with the intensity lingering in your feelings.

FAMILY LINE — a house of the dragon fanfiction | aegon ii targaryen x oc
Tumblr media
act zero: the prince and the siren (wc: 1.3k) | masterlist
note: oh, and i forgot to mention, there is past daemon x oc in this oops | this is also posted on ao3
Tumblr media
Ink on olden paper says two children were born from a great love that shook the realm.
A dragon rained fire, mountains were threatened, men were slayed — all were stepping stones to a hand being asked in marriage, to a union witnessed by the Fourteen Flames and the Seven themselves. The heavens rejoiced, sang their choruses high in the clouds bathed in ever-golden rays, as they blessed the kiss that bound their souls, bodies, and hearts into a single entity, as seen in every birth of their blood — the midnight hall shattered, igniting the spectacle of celestial bodies every pair of eyes marvelled at and years later, the most tumultuous of storms, carpeting the land with the most vibrant shade of viridian that lasted moons on end.
The Rogue Prince and The Siren of the Vale.
Daemon Targaryen and Aellara Arryn.
Every story started with a bold declaration.
For someone who loathed the jadedness of the Vale, Daemon found himself enthralled with the enigma of The Siren of the Vale who was rumoured to be the most bewitching woman to exist in this age, having only heard reminiscent tales from his good-sister, Aemma Targaryen, and songs spread from the mouths of bards. Men would trek the highest mountains to reach Eyrie in hopes of catching a single glimpse of the veiled beauty. It was the very reason why he blatantly rejected his grandmother’s impending proposal to a Bronze Bitch he wouldn’t dare touch in this lifetime, with that fucking sneer on her face as if he was the dirt and she was the god. If only he could shovel her face into the dirt and be done with it. Instead, he longed for the object of everyone’s desire, and that was the youngest child of the House that boasted a falcon for their sigil. Having The Siren by his side would surely sway the public’s favour to lean more toward his side. It would mean ensuring his place as his brother’s Heir; she is of Targaryen blood after all. To have the woman of everyone’s dreams as the Queen Consort would give him the power he never thought Daemon had, which had him singing prayers to the gods he believed in even though he wasn’t a pious man.
With no potential bride linking to him since The Good Queen Alyssane nearly betrothed him to Rhea Royce, Daemon had all the freedom a young man could ever want and need. Pleasure houses were frequented (he had more lovers than any of the noblemen combined — probably even had bastards running around), lands were flown over by the Blood Wyrm, and positions were given to him by his brother (all of which never actually reached a moon at most — fucking Hightower cunt). He had it all. But all it took was a little slip through one of the towers of Eyrie while on dragonback and he was back to the first tile.
There was no other reason for him to propose a marital union with one of the Arryn daughters than to solidify his claim on the throne.
That was all.
There was nothing captivating with the periwinkle blues owned by such a woman of ethereal enchantment. He didn’t trail his eyes from the effortless waves of her white gold hair (every piece of ornament she tangled with her tresses was pure art) down to the pleasing curves that couldn’t be concealed with her flowing dress. (It was almost like the Maiden was born in the realm; Daemon nearly groaned in front of Eyrie’s family seat). His mind wasn’t occupied with conjuring the most sinful images concerning the young woman — he didn’t picture out mapping a constellation of red peonies on her skin or tasting the drink of the gods she very much possessed. Of course, he didn’t gulp down an unnecessary collection of nervousness down his throat when she placed her godly gaze on his worshipping, undivided attention. Fuck, she was so beautiful that he was now covering his crotch with linked hands. Her father was talking yet their joined eye contact sent an impulse of static energy, just enough for The Rogue Prince to feel a jolt down his spine.
But he wasn’t the only man this ambitious to steal the Maiden from her heart and home.
“Prove that you’re devoted to taking my daughter’s hand under your protection, Your Highness. Prove that you are a worthy man of my greatest treasure.”
Bloodshed reigned; there was a battle between the suitors of Aellara Arryn. It was almost called a tourney if not for the condition that for a victor to emerge, the opponent must be decapitated and unable to make a sound except for noises of demise. And with too much blood on his hands, Daemon Targaryen walked away from the bodies as the winner, hastily taking a single stem of a sapphire rose from a jittering squire and (surprisingly) placing it behind Aellara’s right ear with the tenderness befitting a man ensnared by the most dangerous curse known to the realm (but not before making sure there wasn’t a single drop of blood on her skin; as much as he loved seeing blood on someone’s skin, it was almost a crime to see it on hers). Daemon crowned Aellara as the Queen of Love and Beauty without being told to, seven Hells, this trial for her hand in marriage wasn’t even a tourney needing a beautiful woman to be crowned. Yet he did it anyway. All to sway her to his side.
But was it really?
He found his breath hitching when Aellara smiled. It was seeing the glory of Old Valyria right in front of his eyes. His chest pounded against his will as she lifted a dainty hand, a handkerchief in between her hold, and dabbed it on one of the blood splatters on his cheek, erasing a sign of his ruthlessness with her divinity. The shade of blue owned by the rose contrasted deeply with her blonde hair, lighting up the shine innate in the periwinkle hues of her eyes. She was a fucking vision and he never desired anything more in his life until he met her.
With the Siren out of the chambers of her House’s seat, Daemon Targaryen wed Aellara Arryn at the beginning of the 105th year After the Conquest in the ways of the Seven and Old Valyria.
The premise of this romance was worthy of ballads yet it was the start of something so cruelly beautiful for one of them.
From wailing a loss of a person so dear that a large part of your soul broke away; going away because of a loved one’s exile; bearing the heir of the Prince of Dragonstone and relishing in the cocoon of appreciation in enveloped you; gaining two stolen dragon eggs for the twin babes; watching the love of your life flying to war while giving birth under the shattering night sky; suffering the betrayal of your husband’s unfaithfulness and disloyalty, breaking every bit of the vows made in front of fourteen pairs of eyes; to accepting yourself leaving this world in the same way it took your sister.
And it left behind three children with no titles, no protection, no family — it was the world against their little faces, so naive at the slimy fingers of faux niceties and always on the receiving end of reptilian smiles and hollow pity. The hourglass is letting the sand trickle in, waiting for the moment the scavengers pluck out the lingering, pulsing ache that will never be forgiven and forgotten. Because all the while The Rogue Prince created another bubble of domesticity across the seas, a son grew up too soon, a daughter stepped up to become the caretaker, and a young babe never had the chance of a complete family.

rory speaks !!
the reason why this sort-of prologue is so short despite carrying so many things is bc daemon and aellara are not the main focus of this story. i wanted to give a glimpse as to what is the nature of the main characters' parents' relationship; the main thing summarising everything is that daemon is a huge whore and is power-hungry for the title that given to him ... so, poor aellara. and having her die from childbirth is another thing to add to daemon's suffering bc this man has seen enough of it to last a lifetime (his mother, his sister-in-law, wife, and future wife; don't know how he keeps fathering children when this is what he experienced yikes). another reason why this is short is bc we're mostly seeing the events play out in the kids' (aesira, aether, aegon, and aemond; the furious ae's) eyes so, the information is limited when it reaches the twins' ears. bc let's face it, we always sugarcoat things when we tell a little bit of info to kids.
damn, and i had to post it here; let me prepare myself for the backlash woo

Ye Olde Magick AU Headcanons
Ye Olde Magick AU: X and X
As always thank @books-n-guns for helping making this AU!
— The Starks and Mormonts of old used to wrestle. Wolf vs Bear! Once the Karstarks were made they also joined in. It was made a tournament back then, but as the magic in their veins waned and the Starks stopped getting their claws they stopped. — The Arryns have this Rite of Passage where they jump off the highest tower of the Eyrie, plummet down as low to the ground as they can, and then swoop upwards. The closer to the ground you are before you do, the most bragging rights you get. Aemma Targaryen still holds the record. Robert used to have such pride in that before the war. — Aemma used to have the most beautiful scaled and feather wings and also back muscles like damn. Absolutely beautiful. Viserys had guards hold down her wings before she was cut into. When the feathers fell off, she would gift them to her friends and family. Her husband Viserys, her daughter Rhaenyra, her good-brother Daemon, and Rhaenys each had one of her feathers with them when they died. — When Jon accidentally sneezed fire and melted a ice zombie instantly, Ygritte knew this was the gods way of telling her this is her future baby daddy. Fangs? Fire? If the kids inherited her hair and archery skills they would be unstoppable. (and yes this is a Ygritte lives!AU
— The real reason why Benjen wasn't in the war was because he would have been a menace. A lethal menace. You think Ned was just beginning to grey in book? If Benjen was in the war Ned would have been instantly grey, this poor man would just be running after his little brother as he kills knight after knight the entire war like Benjen no you can't just try and take on an entire unit on your own ROBERT STOP ENCOURAGING HIM! (Books-n-guns, if you're reading this I totally owe this to you about your Benjen comment XD) — Catelyn has a shiny rock collection. This woman has been in rivers since she was girl and has found the best rocks. She's given Ned some. He cherishes them dearly, and he always has one of them on his person. Uses the flatter ones as a worry stone. He had one of them on his person when he was executed. (no this isn't a Ned Stark lives!AU sorry the plot/lore demands it) — All the Stark-Tully kiddos collect rocks. The shinest of shiny rocks. Best of the best. Robb and Arya give some to Theon and Jon respectively. Sansa gives her very first best shiny rock to Margaery who never leaves without it. — In return Margaery gives Sansa a piece of her tree to take with her if she has to travel. A flower or a leaf or even a piece of its bark. It's warm to Sansa's hand and she swears she can feel Margaery through it. — Arya bit Joffrey when he was being an ass with Mycah. Nobody could deny it with blood on Arya's lips/fangs. So Nymeria stays and Lady was spared. Afterwards, Ned managed to get the wolves out of King's Landing just in time. Sansa has wolf dreams of running with Nymeria, hunting and surviving. — Margaery nearly weeps when she learns about the Starks of old. She loves her Sansa - but are you seriously telling her, her girl could've had pointed ears and wolf eyes and claws? She could have had a Westeros version of a werewolf as a girlfriend?! Fuck it she's joining the Old Gods maybe if she's a good follower they'll have pity on this poor lesbian and give Sansa those features. Please she is begging with her heart and her entire pussy please. — A month after giving birth to her daughter, Aemma strapped Rhaenyra and her little dragon securely to her chest, and took flight. Just like her good-mother did to a baby Daemon on her dragon years ago. People said Rhaenyra was giggling when Aemma landed. "She has her entire life to ride on a dragon, Viserys." The queen was overheard saying to her husband. "Let her first years be flying with me." — As books-n-guns said, the Lannisters were more pack oriented than the Starks. Come Tywin and his Tywin-ness and boy have the Lannisters been screwed-up badly by him. — The Tullys and the Greyjoys absolutely hate each other I'm not kidding. You think Balon has beef with Ned over his defeat over little rebellion? Nah, that only added to the existing beef of Ned being married to fucking Tully. A fucking river nymph. This hate is spread out to the Riverlanders and the people of Iron Isles. — No I'm serious they fucking hate each other. The amount of fist fights and duals and deaths between a Riverlander and someone from the Iron Isles is so damn frequent people just automatically clear the area and wait for one or both to die, and carry on their business. It's another Thursday in Westeros, nothing spectacular to see here.

👀Where is that info coming from and why? I wonder what filming info that person has and whether it was purposefully them getting uninformed. Throughout 2023 I wasn’t really keeping up with set leaks other than a few glances, I haven’t seen that Phoebe is filming any major scenes with other characters as if Rhaena is a dragon rider suddenly. And there was a recent pic of Jeyne Arryn where Rhaena’s purple sleeve is clearly showing. Rhaena is also definitely not really gonna be involved much in the finale because the Vale isn’t involved at that point so are they saying Rhaena got a dragon from the Vale, flew the rest of the way to the Eyrie, and then decided to stay there and do nothing with the dragon? And this is AFTER Rhaenys loses her life and Baela is possibly shook or injured from Rook’s Rest. And then we cut to not knowing what happened because the season ends after this. If this is true, they can only create confusion and questions because ???? Weren’t they looking for actresses to play Nettles????
If it’s not true they should really stop people from saying this because it’s ruined all excitement for Season 2. There is no logical reason for Nettles to be replaced as a character. Nettles and Rhaena are distinctively very unique from the others in the Dance and I’ve already explained they have almost a total opposite life, existence, personality, locations, looks, etc. It literally defies logic for them to be the same person being adapted from Fire & Blood. Even if this wasn’t an adaptation and this story was being written with no companion piece, from what we’ve gotten already from Season 1 Rhaena, this still makes no sense.
Even if you ignore the real world issues with this writing, in universe it makes NO sense. The issue here is HBO doing things for shock value and trying to alter characters and plot points to make Rhaenyra look better like with Alicent so show watchers don’t hate them. So let me guess there’s a misunderstanding and she doesn’t know any better about XYZ, therefore there is no agency when she calls for Rhaena to be murdered?

I am wondering if you have any thoughts/head-canon/ideas about Minisa Tully and Lyarra Stark. I always get a little sad thinking about them and how GRRM won't give the fandom any info on either of them.
It’s criminal that grrm says so little about them. Like we know a lot of things about Hoster and Rickard but absolutely nothing about their wives. So here are my visions of who they were
Okay so Lyarra was half Flint of the mountains and Old Nan tells Bran that’s where he got the climbing from. Which makes me think that perhaps Lyarra, like Lyanna and Arya, was not as traditional of a lady as is expected. The way I see her she got the wolf’s blood from her Stark father, but maybe wasn’t quite as strong willed as her daughter. In my head she has the Stark look, but with more typically handsome features. Brandon got his looks from her, not Rickard. I think she was a firm, but kind mother that cared for her children’s success and that she agreed with Rickard on fostering both Ned and Brandon. She wanted all four of her children to be prepared for the world so that they would be, you know, strong enough to survive the winter.
I imagine her marriage to Rickard wasn’t a love match and that they never really fell in love, but that they cared for one another in a friendly way and respected each other as life partners. She was his lady wife and his advisor, but not his love. That respect means she can disagree with him without it being too big of a deal and that he valued her advise even as he sometimes thought her to be a little too hotheaded.
Lyarra was well liked among the northern people and quite social and outgoing. Quick to make jokes and smile while also not being a people pleaser. Could perhaps be seen as a little mean sometimes.
We have no pointer as to when or how she died (according to the wiki it might have been as late as 299AC lol), but I headcanon she died of sickness shortly before or after Ned was sent to be fostered in the Eyrie because that means a very big shift in the family. It could also be why Ned chooses not to think of it too much because it was overall quite a painful time of his life as he was separated from his family in the middle of losing his mother. The little Starks that remained in Winterfell and Rickard all mourned her deeply and tried to find support in each other. Her death was swift and unexpected as she was a strong and lively person. One day she was fine, the next she had perished.
Minisa, on the other hand, I think was a softer person in general. Not too soft though because she was a Whent and I just know something is up there. Like she grew up in Harrenhal, there were ghosts in her childhood home. The way I picture her she has a sort of haunted look over her because of being quite pale and thin with big and sort of sad eyes. This made even worse later in life when she had lost so many babies. Still considered a beautiful woman by most, though.
The marriage to Hoster is a strategic move from her family, it’s not a love match. I think they did come to love one another over time though, but that Hoster’s obsession with a male heir made him subconsciously value that over Minisa. Minisa, being all about her duty and really wanting to give her husband a healthy son, never protested against his continued attempts at having a son even as each of her pregnancies were very hard on her and that she grew weaker with every birth. I see it as sort of a Viserys/Aemma situation. It’s canon that eventually it was childbirth that killed her, even as she had already given birth to Edmure.
She was a softer parent than Hoster and was very protective of the children she had that actually survived. I think (might be misremembering) that Catelyn remembers her as being warm and gentle. Before Edmure was born I think Catelyn became very much Hoster’s kid due to being his presumed heir for the time and so Minisa doted a lot on Lysa because Lysa was more hers. Can see her turning into a little bit of a boy mom, much to little Lysa’s dismay, after Edmure was born due to the relief of actually having given birth to a male heir. Still she was keen on her two younger children not growing up too quickly the way Catelyn was doing.
Most everyone liked her. She made an effort to always be kind and gentle and stuck to the social rules. Maybe she became more drawn back later in her life due to becoming weaker and more sickly after her numerous difficult pregnancies. When she wasn’t too weary she enjoyed tending to the flower in the gardens surrounding the sept. Only after her death did they become known as Minisa’s gardens.
After her death Riverrun became a colder place as she brought a warmth to the castle that Hoster couldn’t quite do himself. Hoster, even as he was the reason for her death, mourned her deeply and ended up leaning on Catelyn due to her being the oldest one. Of his three children she looks the most like his late wife.

hi sunny, happy new year! Hope you are doing well
idk if you are taking requests now but i was wondering if you could write some head canons or your own picture of what Jace did to lady Arryn with his mouth
Do I trust mushrooms account of what went down in the Vale? No. But will that stop me from writing this? Also no.
Tumblr media
Jace isn’t sure what to expect when he starts flying to different houses to gain support for his mother. All he knows is that it’s essential to get as many allies as possible because he has no idea how many allies his uncle is going to have.
He’s hesitant when he gets to the Vale. He knows his history and he knows that they are uncomfortable with dragons. Jace is aware that his grandmother was an Arryn but he doesn’t know if that will outweigh the fear of dragons and war.
When Jace arrives in the Eyrie, he’s greeted warmly and not just by guards or knights but by the Lady Jeyne Arryn herself.
She’s older than him and probably isn’t considered a great beauty by Westerosi standards but he can’t help but notice the way she holds herself. It is clear that she rules in her own right and that she is comfortable in such a role.
She keeps him in the Vale, negotiating terms over and over again. Dodging all of his attempts at a concrete answer. Jace isn’t stupid, there is something she wants and she isn’t saying it. She’s dragging it out and stringing him along and yet he knows somewhere deep down that he will leave with her support.
Finally after a long week of arguing and negotiating and talks of sky cells, much to Jace’s chagrin, she finally calls for him. She watches his every move as he climbs the stairs to her throne that overlooks the infamous moon door.
She’s lounging back in the chair with a sly smirk on her face. Suddenly it feels like she is a cat and he the mouse.
If he’s being honest with himself, it’s not an entirely unpleasant feeling. The tension that has grown over the last week between the two of them was something Jace had never felt before. Similarly to that, despite being the heir to the Iron Throne and a prince, he can’t recall having someone look at him the way Lady Arryn does.
He stands before her as she makes her requests. She tells him that she has two and if he can fulfill them then he has her support, that his mother has the support of the Vale.
Her first request is one that he wishes he had thought of sooner. It’s simple and obvious. She wants dragon riders to defend her home and lands. It makes sense, considering that the Vale is notorious for their dislike of dragons and that they are going into a war involving those very same dragons.
He can give her that. They don’t really have dragons to spare but if it will gain him her support then he will have dragon riders sent here as soon as the war officially begins.
Her second request… well, he can safely say he didn’t see that one coming.
With that cat-like smirk, she spreads her legs a little, and Jace can’t help but watch as she does so. Her second request, she says as she slowly lifts her gown up her legs, is that if Jace can bring her pleasure with only his tongue he will have the full support of the Vale. After all, what future king can’t bring a woman pleasure?
Jace feels his face grow warm and he knows he’s as red as his grandmother’s dragon, Meleys at the request. However, he isn’t put off by it. In fact, he feels a flicker of excitement.
There is something alluring about the Lady Arryn. Yes, she is older and somehow that adds to the excitement but she clearly knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to voice it.
He drops to his knees before her without a word and hopes that she hadn’t caught sight of the growing hardness in his breeches.
The most he has ever done is share a few stolen kisses with his betrothed. He has never touched a woman and that is what Lady Arryn is, she’s a woman with the wants of one.
He pushes her dress further up and pushes her small clothes aside to see what lies beneath. In the back of his mind, he is aware that his mouth is watering and that his heart is beating fast. Her womanhood is already wet and glistening and he knows that if he pulled away now she’d probably still give him her support but he wants to do this. He tells himself it’s for the experience but he knows that is only half of the truth.
It takes everything in Jace to not bury his head between her open thighs. He places a gentle kiss on the inside of her thigh before he pulls back and with a quiet voice says, “My Lady, I must admit, I have never done this before and I would hate to leave you unsatisfied.”
He doesn’t know what to expect but a hand running through his hair and cupping his cheek as she tilts his head up to look at her isn’t it. She smiles down at him and the smirk is gone and replaced with a comforting smile.
“I will direct you on how to do it but first you must start.”
He nods and before he can talk himself out of it he leans his head forward and follows his instincts. He licks a long stripe through her folds and collects her juices. It isn’t like anything he’s ever tasted before but he finds himself wanting more.
Enthusiastically he starts lapping at her wet folds and teasing her entrance with his tongue. Briefly, he forgets that this isn’t for him but for her own pleasure but he’s soon reminded when he feels a hand grin tightly to the back of his hair and pull him back.
His mouth and chin are wet and the Lady Arryn laughs breathlessly. “I appreciate the enthusiasm but slow down and try and find the little bud at the top of my cunt. That is what will please me the most.”
He nods quickly and dives back between her legs. He does as she instructs. It takes him a moment but with her hand still in his hair she guides him to the right spot. When his tongue swirls around what he thinks she was talking about she finally gasps out a moan and laughs once again, quietly saying, “you’re a fast learner.”
Jace doesn’t attempt to hold back his grin at her praise or the hand flexing in his hair. He thinks back to all of the lewd things his uncle had talked about when they were in King’s Landing. Jace was sure that Aegon exaggerated his expertise in the bedroom (his uncle was a lazy man and he rarely cared for others. Jace couldn’t imagine any scenario where his uncle cared about another person's pleasure) but something he said stuck in Jace’s head.
Hesitantly, he moved one of the hands holding tightly onto the Lady Arryn’s thigh and brought it to the weeping cunt. Slowly he slipped one of his fingers inside of her and when she didn’t protest, he slipped another in.
She ground herself against his face and fingers and Jace took pleasure in knowing he was the cause.
“Curl your fingers.” She gasped out, “like you’re beckoning someone to you.”
He did as she commanded. She arched her back off of the chair and as he moved his fingers and flicked his tongue, her walls started to flutter around him.
Jace groaned at the feeling and felt his own cock throb at the feeling. He could only imagine what she would feel like around him but he knew it would be too much to ask her if he could fuck her as well. No, he would slip back into his room after he brought her to her release and fist his cock at the thought.
Her moans and the sounds of her wetness filled the hall. Jace couldn’t bring himself to feel embarrassed even if there was someone else there.
Eventually, after he sucked her bud into his mouth and curled his fingers in the way she commanded, she clenched hard around him with a loud moan. Jace didn’t dare move as she held him in place and bucked against him.
Finally, when she slumped back into her chair, Jace moved from between her thighs and stood. She made no move to fix her dress and she smiled dazedly up at him.
It was as he was wiping his face and sucking his fingers clean of her that the Lady Arryn finally said, “well, I think that definitely earns the support of the Vale.”

i’m so mad i had a better structured answer and tumblr ate it so now this is super long and ranty. blame tumblr!!
anyways, i’m seeing three scenarios here
everyone is better off
the twins are still Doing That but tyrion is better off, so probably everything is still better off
aerys loses his absolute mind bc joanna is single now
while i imagine joanna does engage jaime to elia - and this is probably a much happier outcome for both of them, because joanna would have attempted to put a stop to the incest, up to and including sending cersei to foster somewhere else - i do think cersei is a huge question mark. she is often the instigator of their problems!
not to lay the respsonibility at her feet or anything, bc she experiences shit in her childhood that is enough to damage most people’s psyches (losing a parent that young and to childbirth is hard developmentally not to mention a fucked up prophecy hanging over her head & potential issues with empathy already!) and then experiences decades of spousal abuse, and is then given near unlimited power and told “now don’t do anything crazy lol” like, of course cersei decides “if i have to live in hell i’m taking these two idiots with me what are baby brothers FOR after all” and if you want them to have a chance at normalcy in adulthood, the key is for cersei to have a less traumatic time so she has half a chance at adjusting to the regular stressors of life. the main way to do this is to get her away from jaime and away from any terrible prophecies that trigger some sort of fucked up neurosis in her from an early age.
now, we don’t know who joanna had in mind for cersei, if she had even thought that far, but being lady regent of the west, she’s going to have significant control over who cersei marries. if she sends cersei away to foster somewhere to get her away from jaime, shes got a wide range of possibilities and if someone reaches out to her to get involved in their lil rebellion, she might take the opportunity to send cersei somewhere quite far, like riverrun or the eyrie or dorne or the fucking north, so long as it’s right now immediately & the distance might do cersei some good but equally possible cersei takes this as rejection and turns on her mother; though, if she’s spending her adolescent years somewhere with a healthier dynamic (and the bar is in hell) maybe cersei isn’t so paranoid. but that’s ONLY IF joanna is healthy enough & aware enough to send cersei away when she’s like 8 or 9. it’s a big if.
then there’s the tyrion of it all - i think joanna warms up to him eventually and cersei being elsewheres means he’s probably better off. at the very least, there’s less conflict if jaime married elia and had heirs like he was supposed to wrt tyrion, and Joanna may even attempt some matchmaking for him and can do that without the added stress of “he is disabled and also inheriting casterly rock” bc like, i’m not saying joanna would take the same hardline stance but i AM saying she saw something to love in fucjing TYWIN, and i don’t think she’s a saint who would unequivocably embrace her disabled son. BUT i don’t think she’d shame him or abuse him the way tywin does either. tyrion grows up in a family all similar to jaime; they certainly aren’t always respectful, frequently patronizing, dismissive, and tyrion is likely to get resentful at times (who wouldn’t) but i think everyone can agree that a household full of “i know they mean well but they don’t understand what it’s like” is an improvement over whatever the fuck tywin was doing.
all of this means…maybe the twins are married elsewhere when robert gains his throne potentially after KL goes boom since Jaime isn’t there to whack Aerys, but potentially after a much easier rebellion because dorne sided with the rebels, house lannister sides with the rebels, and they coup aerys the fuck out of there a bit easier. robert probably marries a tyrell or a hightower (there’s a few of marriage age and they’re rich) in that case. the realm is a lot better off lmao. OR cersei isn’t married yet (she’s still a lil young admittedly) and does marry robert. probably still attempts to pull jaime to her but joanna knows this is happening and is more inclined to stop it, especially with jaime married to elia, her best friend’s daughter and the beloved sister of the now prince of dorne. this probably causes a lot of problems ergo scenario two, but i do think a world where jaime or joanna is in charge of casterly rock, even a world where the incest still exists, is a world that is miles better off just bc joanna isn’t going to ignore the problem like tywin, and tyrion being even marginally less fucked up is a net win.
OR like i worried above, aerys starts a war for joanna. i mean, petyr started a war over his obsession with cat & sansa, it is not out of the realm of possibility that aerys “burning the lord paramount and his heir alive is fine actually” targaryen goes “joanna comes to court or i set casterly rock on fire” and that’s not really good for ANYONE.
so anyways if joanna lives it’s probably fine, probably even better actually, or maybe, everyone dies on fire. typical westeros really.

Thoughts on Daenerys publicly executing the former slave and how she went about it in S05x02?
In a word? Not great. Boo.
The show rewrite & repurposing of Mossader &seems like it was meant to rewrite progression of the "error" Daenerys makes with her dragons by essentially adding another one that I'm sure they didn't think was an serious error. A way for them to try to make Dany seem a worse leader & thinker than she really is. I don't like how the show basically tried to make her look tyrannical by making her violently suppress the actions of someone who was both devoted to her and really had already been shut down before when he was saying the right thing. Which was to just get rid of this harpy-hire dude at the very least and at most what she said abt sending a message.
I also hated how it made Mossader look irrational & nearly "savage" through a display of fanatics--in how he almost dreamily said he did it "for her", posing Daenyers' goddess-like stature as easily shiftable to threatening. Foreshadowing that horrible erroneous ending of her becoming a Hitler figure. Like the scene was saying to us she inspires generationally brutalized and dehumanized brown people to the point of irrational "frenzy" and she cannot even be nuanced or sympathetic as she had been before in her ruling for Mossader. This pathetic-ized person who had at one point called her Mhysa and believed in her.
But the narrative the show pushes is not even fair itself to this man (hypocritically) & is just using him to denigrate Dany; becasue why are we making the only male brown former slave besides Grey Worm do such a thing AND be as I said "fanatical" towards the white Dany??! This man, who was put on their council as the voice and reason of those freed Meereenese...appears to us as totally unreasonable bc we know and he "should" have known that there were consequences for disrupting the Westerosi-style of "fair trial" and "honor"...The trial would be a false one, bc this guy will not be let off or go free. His crimes are obvious. Even if we did posit him going free, he'd likely just go back to being a hire for the harpy!
Plus we saw how actual ineffectual and emotion-based/false honor-based actual Westerosi trials can be through both of the trials against Tyrion: at the Eyries; esp the one at the Red Keep after Joffrey dies. So much for fairness of the superior Westerosi style of justice! (another hypocrisy of the writing itself)
So the show has Dany simultaneously "fails" Mossader, and utterly. As if the bonds she has with the slaves and her mission really don't mean anything to her.
After all, does she not marry Hizdahr, reopen the fighting pits (later) to stop the killings of the freedmen...Then she kills the freedman who was supposed to rep them all??
And the points Hizdahr & Barristan Selmy tried to make against killing the dude besides the trial..."poor and young"; "Why should he want to bring back slavery? What did it do for him?"; " I don't know it, and I'm the head of a great family."...why are we even indulging in these stupid protests?!!! We know his presence is so the other nobles feel they have say and influence over Dany, but there was no rebuttal (or at least a sign from her dismissing Hizdahr, whether he sees it or not) from show!Dany against his absurd "logic" about "going easy" on this guy. Huh?!
Subsequently, she loses a lot of faith from the freedmen who beg for not only Mossader's life but for her to not bend to the masters' clear attempt to confuse the priority. Which is their total freedom at those masters' expense. Which is exactly what D&D wanted bc they hate her, refuse to understand her, and lost interest in this series.
It was just a huge mess!
CONTEXT for comparison
a)
Mossador died differently in the original book series ("A Dance with Dragons -- Daenerys II"):
In the show, he gets executed because show!Daenerys wanted to re-establish a peace of between the freedmen and the former (not so former) slavers and elites of Meereen. Some, if not all, of these elites formed the group "Sons of the Harpy", and in the show one of these are captured. Show!Mossader didn't believe that any of the Masters would just lie down and allow Daenerys' end to legal slavery in Meereen stick. And that they'd eventually somehow either get this prisoner out OR this Master would be somehow saved in the process of a the trial that was planned for him:
MOSSADOR: Sons of the Harpy, they want to put a collar back on my neck. On all of our necks. Please, Your Grace, you must kill him. DAENERYS: It would send a message. BARRISTAN: I think you should exercise restraint, Your Grace. DAENERYS: Why? BARRISTAN: For one thing, he may have valuable information. DAARIO: The Son of the Harpy has no more valuable information. BARRISTAN: How do you know that? DAARIO: Because I questioned him. HIZDAHR: And the information you did get, he is young and poor. MOSSADOR: He is born free. HIZDAHR: Why should he want to bring back slavery? What did it do for him? DAENERYS: Perhaps the only thing that gave him pride was knowing that there was someone lower than he was. MOSSADOR: They pay him. Great families afraid to do a thing. They pay poor man to do it for them. HIZDAHR: And how do you know this? MOSSADOR: Everyone knows this. HIZDAHR: I don't know it, and I'm the head of a great family. BARRISTAN: We do not know what this man did or didn't do. (to Daenerys) Give him a trial, at least. A fair trial. Show all of the citizens of Meereen that you are better than those who would depose. Teach them a better way. MOSSADOR: I do not know the place from where Old Ser comes. Things maybe are different there, I hope. But here, in Meereen, before Daenerys Stormborn, they own us. So we learn much about them or we do not live long. They teach me what they are. Mercy, fair trial: these mean nothing to them. All they understand is blood!
So he preemptively and vengefully kills the prisoner, and as you see here, he expresses no regrets about disobeying Daenerys and doing it:
DAENERYS: Why? MOSSADOR (Valyrian): For you, Mhysa. You wanted the Harpy dead, but your hands were tied. I set you free, as you did all of us. DAENERYS: He was our prisoner, awaiting trial. You had no right. MOSSADOR: He would rather rip your city apart than see slaves lifted from the dirt. DAENERYS: There are no more slaves. There are no more Masters. MOSSADOR: Then who lives in the Pyramids? Who wears gold masks and murders your children? When Grey Worm came to us, I was the first to take up the knife for you. I remember the look on my father's face as I struck down his Master, who had traded his infant son for a dog. My father died in the fighting. If we allow the Sons of the Harpy to return us to chains, he never lived. DAENERYS: The Harpy's life was not yours to take. Once, the Masters were the law-- MOSSADOR: And now you are the law! DAENERYS: The law is the law. Take him.

He's one of the many freedmen murdered by the Sons. And it's not until the 4th episode that her 2nd husband will appear, and he matters bc this is about how she gets on Drogon and re-orient her goals.
b) Attempt at a Summary (How Dany Actually gets to Marry Hizdahr, his role, and Riding Drogon out of the Pit.)
Bk!Dany does have an arc where she at first tries to acclimate or compromise with the former slave masters for the sake of peace in Meereen but comes to realize that her efforts is simply not going to work. She reopens the fighting pits where former slave gladiators would fight after Hizdahr zo Loraq petitions her several times and brings some famous gladiators to beg her to reopen them. She, like in the show, marries Hizdahr and makes him her royal consort when he meets her condition of bringing some 90 days of peace (the high priestess, the Green Grace Galazza Galare suggested a marriage to him). Absolutely no murders or attacks against freedmen nor those few nobles who actually are obeying Dany. In this observation and despite what another noble, Skahaz mo Kandaq, warned about Hizdahr being the the Harpy, leader of the Sons of the Harpy. He was one fo the nobles who decided to abandon the slavery society and "ways" other nobles want to keep going. Again, she wanted that peace and dismissed his warning, and Hizdahr starts to show his true colors in his dismissing Skahaz from his position as the leader of the new Meerenese "city watch", or police, and appointing one of his own cousins. He says that this is to get more of the nobles on her side. (He's not the Harpy, but he's definitely closely tied to them.)
They reopen the fighting pits to celebrate the wedding; Hizdahr insists the fighters volunteered. Hizdahr offers Dany locust treats, it turns out they are poisoned later on when we see Strong Belwas get very sick from them and it's only due to his large and heavyset body that he survives. Dany sees that he's very into the violence, in a way that gets mixed with a sexual excitement at it. During another fight, Drogon appears, Hizdahr calls for people to kill Drogon, and Daenerys jumps into the pit to calm and try to bring Drogon to heel, she's flies off, Drogon basically leading her. Dany, half starved & dehydrated, dreams of her brother and hallucinates Jorah Mormount (those close to her who've betrayed her) but it's also her reflecting on her persistent guilt for the girl Drogon killed that motivated her into the mistake of locking up her dragons. Narrowly escaping a Dothraki scout, she and Drogo fly to another place, eating horse, and that's where the scout's khal, Jhaqo, and his warriors find her. Resumably to try to rape & kill her or to to take her back to Vaes Dothrak to the dosh khaleen and become one of them forever.
In all the time Dany was gone, Hizdahr has been trying to use his marriage to Daenerys to rule Meereen in her absence and a plot (he likely enabled even by just taking instructions) to retake the city gets foiled under Barristan Selmy, Missandei, and Grey Worm's leadership. There are prisoners they take & essentially they are now running the city in Dany's name, waiting for her return. Hizdahr is one of those prisoners. But in the show, Hizdahr died at the pits when a Harpy stabs him.
