Random thoughts Picard 3.9 "Vox"

One more ep left--we're almost there, people!!

Wow. That was a lot. At least we have Discovery in the 32nd century to assure us that Starfleet survived!

No! Shaw! I'd been mentally preparing myself since I had a feeling he was going to die. I mean, if we get Star Trek: Legacy, I think people would want to see it with Seven in command. But I’m going to miss Shaw so much. Him, in his dying breath, giving the conn to Seven and actually using her name. That was so beautiful.

(BTW, I've written a fic for May that's going to have to be AU now. Being AU actually gave me a stronger ending, but I still wish Shaw was still with us)

The red door revelation--I kept seeing the Borg theory but discounted it as unlikely. But I was wrong. While the secrecy reveal was totally scary, I'm still confused. So, the Borg planted something in Locutus's DNA so that he'd essentially sire a child who'd become a Borg mouthpiece? That's an awful long con--plus what if Picard never procreated? But let's set that aside since maybe that wasn't intended. However, I'm confused about the transporter contamination. It seems like the transporter system automatically logged Picard contaminated DNA. Somehow the evolved Changelings discovered this and used it to destroy Starfleet? That seems like a stretch but I guess we'll go with it.

Speaking of which, I hope all the young Starfleet officers who were assimilated end up okay. (BTW, if anyone's wondering about Elnor, Terry Matalas told us that he wasn't on the Excelesor. So, that's some good news. Doesn't completely mean his safe. Me, I was worried about Miral Paris but someone theorized on Twitter that since Klingons mature quicker than humans, Miral's parietal lobe may be fully formed already)

Shelby! FLEET ADMIRAL SHELBY! I knew we were getting a cameo and had theories. But I never guessed it be her, since at this point, I thought it'd be a larger character. It was awesome seeing her even though she was taken away so soon.

It was nice seeing the Enterprise D again. I don't get as nostalgic about stuff like that the way other viewers do, but it was nice moment and it did resonate with me a lot more after my second viewing.

It was a good episode, though I'd say the weakest of the season. It's not becauses of the fan service because I absolutely LOVE fan service. However, I also want the plot to make sense. Unfortunately, this plot did not come together coherently. It wasn't nearly as bad as Season 2 but it wasn't as strong as I'd hoped.

PS--I'm normally a "what happens in canon stays in canon" type of person. But I would not be opposed to someone doing a "fix it" fic that has Shaw somehow surviving and retiring on Risa.

Theory: Did Levi wrapped Petra’s body?

Hello Sweeties! 🌷

I hope you’re doing well! Today I wanted to discuss this theory with you. Was Levi the one to wrap Petra’s body on ep 22.

~Before we start I want to add a disclaimer~

This is only a theory as far as I know this theory hasn’t been confirmed by Isayama. Also I want to give credit to this person on deviant art. This person gave me the idea to make it into a theory.

~Let’s start~

Here’s the comment from the person on deviant art. This person claims that Isayama said Levi was the one to wrap Petra’s body. Now I personally haven’t seen any article or interview regarding that so I can’t claim this is true so I’m going to claim it as a theory.

~The theory~

What this person claims makes sense to me here’s why:

Levi could have been the person to wrap her body or he may have been there when someone else was wrapping her body and he let her hand out to identify her body later on. The reason for doing so identification. Either because he wanted :

1. To get her badge

2. To take her body with him and guard it

Here’s is Petra’s body 😞 as we can see in the photo below Petra is place in a row with other dead comrades. Her body is the only one that has a hand out meaning someone (Levi) let it out on purpose.

Also worth noting Petra’s body wasn’t very well wrap, if we compare her wrap body with the others in the scene when her body was thrown, hers was the only one the blanket came off reveling her face this could suggest 2 options 1. Because her hand was out it cause for the blanket to get loose or the person who wrap her body didn’t do a good job.

Either way it works as a hint that Levi wrap her body but he lacked experience in doing so and the blanket came off or he got her hand out and the blanket became loose.

Levi also knew where Petra’s body was place at and he also knew which one was it because of the hand poking out this could suggest he may had something to do with it.

This concludes the theory, I know this could be seen as a stretch and I understand that but hey sometimes is fun to theorize! I believe he had at least had something to do with Petras hand being out.

I wanted to add my thoughts on levi taking Petra’s badge.

I feel like this is a big hint for Levi’s part and is sad is so underrated. As far as I know Levi hasn’t done this with anyone not even with Erwin which we are aware he is a very special person to Levi,he has only done this with Petra. Plus the song called your name was playing in the background, I believe that song was inspired by Levi’s and Petra’s relationship.

He later on gives it away to the grieving soldier to comfort him. And the way he looks at it God the feels I interpreted the look as this is the only thing I had of her and now I have nothing.

There's a lot of grumbling already about the details of Loki Episode 2 (as per usual) but I continue to have all the faith in the world in this cast & crew. We're only two episodes in and everybody's still making a lot of assumptions.

Some commentary about particular fandom gripes are below.

- Tom has said that Loki's genderfluidity was a major concern for the writers and director and I absolutely believe him because well, Tom doesn't lie, especially about things like that. So I'm waiting for ep 3 to explain the situation instead of jumping to any conclusions.

- Just because "The Variant" has blonde hair it doesn't mean that she isn't a good representation of "Lady Loki" (I don't like using that nickname for anyone except Loki hijacking Sif's body, to be frank). I'm theorizing that her character is an amalgam of Sylvie Lushton, Amora the Enchantress, and Loki's female form. She doesn't get along with her male side so she chooses not to look like him and she has her own name (possibly Sylvie).

- Different Loki variants have different powers, which makes sense because they've lived different lives. "Sylvie's" mind control/possession trick seems very unique and she probably intentionally does magic in ways Loki doesn't. This is why I think she'll eventually change her outfit and become Enchantress (maybe in S2).

- But the body possession thing is VERRRY INTERESTINK since Sif is likely to show up sometime this season. I'm not saying I want Sif to get possessed by Sylvie, but well ok yeah I do want her to get possessed.

- If TVA Loki is able to learn from "Sylvie's" experiences, then the male and female sides of TVA Loki could learn to exist together in peace and THEN you'd get your proper brunette female Loki, you picky people.

- It's been established in interviews and articles that this series is about identity, especially the complicated and mercurial identity of Loki. He seems very different here because he's always different in each new movie and situation. He's surviving in the TVA by appearing to be a boyish goofball who's too arrogant to be a serious threat. And he'll keep changing his behavior depending on the setting and audience. I just don't see Loki as ever being OOC since he keeps reinventing himself for whoever he's with.

- This one's for the knife haters: since the Multiverse can be combined into one timeline by the Time Keepers, it could follow that if there were many Loki variants running around with different powers in many timelines that were then all combined, the resulting Loki might just have ALL THEIR POWERS. Especially if a particularly clever Loki figured out a way to make that work for him.

- Loki's getting ready for an evolution/power up, is what I'm sayin. He wasn't Comics Loki powerful before now because he was still a boy going through his villain origin/face-turn arc. Now he's ready for his Next Level arc.

TKEM ep 13: thoughts, feels and theories

Ah. So here we are. Only 3 episodes left and still two weeks to go. Something that I thought was tue last week, but well, life is unpredictable.

Last week's episodes were full of action, blood, twists, romance and thrill. This week's episode (and I'm still bitter about it only being one... I mean, that's not enough of Minho dosis for me or for anyone and the thing I hate most about live watching dramas is preemption ugh) was the calm before the storm, nicely setting everything into motion for the doom and the mind blowing-ness to fall upon us next.

I wanted to do little posts about some of my thoughts in my favorite scenes, but because I'm angry about only having one episode that ended on that note LIKE SERIOUSLY How do they even expect me to last a week after that TERRIBLE ending??!!! I decided I just want to rant out my theories and feelings here lmao.

So, we finally have confirmation on that assumption that it was Lee Gon (time traveling somehow) the one who saved himself in 1994. I've been suspecting that for a while except that is always nice to know for sure and the thing I never thought was that Lee Rim would caught onto that as well.

I still can't believe that PM killed (or got her killed) her counterpart from the Republic. Poor lady, we never met her, but I'm assuming she was actually nicer than PM, and most of all, an innocent person. So disappointed in PM because I thought her talent and personality could've been put into use on the good side, but *sigh* oh well. She decided to support the wrong team. And that part of her fate is sealed, because we know the bad side is just not gonna win, no matter how much harm they do. Yikes.

I mean, yes. She has a point. It’s just that our King likes to think ahead. That’s how he is. He was well aware of the doom in their relationship since their early stages.

Like I mentioned before, there was not much happening this episode, because it was obviously the basis for the big climax that's ahead of us. But I still enjoyed every minute of it, of course. And I know we didn't see, but I just can’t help but think there are some calculations and actual planning that we haven't seen on Lee Gon's part.

Stop it with the melo eyes. I know you care about your King. We know you love him and we love you for that but give us a break. Nobody needs a reminder when it’s all there, waiting to make us cry. Also, Woo DoHwan appreciation shots.

My favorite scene this ep and yes, I know how crazy that sounds. Like I said in an earlier post, this is just amazing. I feel the need to congratulate Lee Rim for leveling up, because the whole “you have the same face as my nephew’s deceased mother” plan was really not gonna work very well, since his hot majesty knows that woman is NOT his mother and had no interest in her. BUT using the face of TaeEul, the woman he loves, as the weapon to make him put his guard down and actually harming him in the way we have been reminded and alerted to since ep 1 (to the point of practically becoming a comic relief, a joke) is totally brilliant and horribly cruel.

I know this was PP but they were also telling us that’s where the poison was. Hehe. Also, I might be the only one who is actually entertained by Product placements. I mean, they’re hilarious. And definitely not the worst I’ve seen.

NO! Listen to me you freaking Luna! I know you’re a fictional character, but you have no idea how much I want to hit you right now! HOW DARE YOU! You’re paying for this. Btw nice parallel.

I don't know if I'm breaking the rules of theorizing by going about the spoilers I've seen and the previews with bits that have not happened yet in the drama but I'm gonna go ahead anyway. LOL I think the King is going to try fix things ala Back to the Future way (pretty sure people have thought this as well since spotting that phonecase from TaeEul's) but in doing so, and we know the dynamic from the movies, some things from the present time are gonna change, including some first meetings and interactions between characters up to the point in the story we currently are in. And maybe that's why Lee Gon will try to visit TaeEul at different points in her life so she remembers him when she's an adult and sees him again, and that would explain why in that preview from the other day, they showed their first meeting with TaeEul higging Lee Gon instead of the other way, because she knows who he is or has seen him before.

And all that sounds a lot like The time traveler's wife (the movie, bc I haven't read the book) story to me. This drama is becoming a weirdly interesting mix of those two stories. I just hope the drama ends on a more Back to the future way because otherwise it would be a very sad ending 😢 and that goes against my belief that TKEM will end up with a happily ever after. And I need to keep that hope so my sanity doesn’t suffer.

Ok ya, Alex clarifying that Jon isn't stupid he just makes poor decisions. Probably if he'd paused and thought about it (like I did lol, I had to go do some stuff in the middle of that ep and thought about it a whole bunch lol) instead of immediately going out and buying an axe and further isolating himself and panicking immediately he probably would have figured it out. This is why it's bad to panic in a crisis guys.

Eyyy! Jonny's parents voiced Gertrude and Leitner! That's so cool.

Hmm, I hadn't really thought of Gertrude being like a mother figure in the story? She just seems very cut-throat I guess from what Leitner said. Idk so far I've been very suspicious of her. Especially since that one statement where her photo burned a whole bunch of people or something. She just seems very shady...

Side note, Every time there's a q&a I just can't stop noticing Jonny's voice going in and out of archivist range? Like most of the time I'm just listening along and then he'll say a sentence a bit grumblier and my brains immediately like "ARCHIVIST! That's THE ARCHIVIST!!"

Season 2 summary:

Uuuuu ya so this season was really good. I kinda listened to it in bursts of about ten episodes every couple weeks and then have been saving up the reactions to post later so these are usually going up about a week or so after I actually listened to the episode just FYI.

I also do have a lot of spoilers cause I can't keep myself away from fanfic and people don't always tag for spoilers and I kiiinda wana know what's coming beforehand anyway? Idk it's hard man I get very stressed about what might happen and then also listening to too much at a time is too spooky for my poor little heart so I gotta read the less spooky fanfic to fulfill the hyperfixation you see. (If anyone has fanfic with spoilers only up to season 2 that'd be great btw)

Anyway, I try not to take spoiler type stuff into account unless I'm just so sure of it I can't really not acknowledge that I know about it.

Also, can I just talk about Michael for a minute?? Cause he's such a unique character? And I guess maybe there are other characters like him but I haven't ever seen one -tho to be fair tma is only like the third horror thing I've ever really got into (the other two are the SCP Foundation in its various forms and Little Nightmares. Hence why I keep making reference to SCP it's really the only thing I know similar to this.) But he's such a cool concept!!? Like someTHING that still has a personality? He's so not human? Like I get what he says but also I don't really? Idk im pretty sure he's an avatar right? Right?? Idk if that means he was a person at some point? But all this to say that he is probably the most inhuman character I've come across so far and I'm trying to figure out what it is about him that's so "other" to me? Like... I don't really know what Micheal's deal is? he seems to want to be sort of a neutral mischief-maker but also it seems like he keeps getting invested. But also I just love the way he talks about himself. Like he's a monster that has a personality and is fully intelligent but isn't just evil but isn't neutral either and certainly isn't benevolent. Like he's so complex and just,,,, the idea of a "thing" that's got a personality?? I love it? Kind of like dryads or spirits of things? Like the idea that after a long time things gain personality just by existing? Not that that's what Michael is necessarily? but that same sort of concept applies to him I think. Like the way he IS the maze and wants to help but wants to just watch but wants to kill them all. He's just so interestinggggggg. (And another vision of what jon could become?)

also "es Mentiras" is a beautiful name 💕

So are him and not-Sasha avatars? Not-Sasha also seems completely inhuman and I was under the impression that avatars were (or used to be) human? Or are they like personifications of their power? Do all the powers have personifications of themselves. not-Sasha seems even less human than Michael? Like she seems to just really genuinely enjoy causing fear? Tho I guess we didn't really get to hear a lot of her. She just seemed kinda gleefully angry most of the time we heard from her. Was she... Human once!???

Anyway. Also, can I just talk about leitners line about jon belonging to the eye!!? Just..*chefs kiss* hnnnngg I need more jon grappling with that. I just need more everyone dealing with the fallout post all of the finallies ok? I still need more of jon angsting over his worms scars and stuff and now I also need jon freaking out about belonging to a fear god power thing.

Also Martin! Is Martin ok? He sure did a lot of yelling which he doesn't usually? Look I love him and he actually thinks before he acts (unlike SOME people *looks at jon*) and he writes poetry and it is pretty good poetry ok!! And he cares about everyone and just wants a happy ending and aaaaa😭

Petition to get some statements from Martin's pov tho? I mean that's not gonna happen cause Jon's the archivist but I want more martin pov!! Maybe we can get some of his poem tapes??? Pls?????

I feel so bad for Tim. It sounds like he's kinda fallen into despair.

Also Elias!!? Is showing his spooky side!!? He can control cameras and beat a man to death with a pipe!!? This is his "place of powerr"!!? I am afeared!!? At least jon knows he shouldn't trust him now. Oh jeez, I wonder if jon will listen back to the tape and know what happened. Thhhatsss rough. Oh dear, I hope he doesn't feel guilty cause Leitner did keep trying to hurry him and now everyone thinks it was him. Even martin thinks he did it? Wich like I kinda want to hear more of his thoughts on that? How much does he believe that jon did it? Tim certainly seems pretty certain but he's a bit biased and cynical right now so.

And they were in the maze for DAYS?

Now I need martin recovering from being stuck with Tim in Michaels maze for days being angry and worried and hungry etc... Dksjdksa knowing jon could be dying RIGHT NOW and there's nothing he can do. Please someone give me the fic links if this exists!! I've already written like 5 drabbles based entirely on spoilers/other fics (which I'll probably post (w/ links to their inspirations) once I'm caught up and can make sure I'm not just completely demolishing cannon lol.

Leitner didn't even scream or yell or anything when he was murdered. Literally the chillest dude ever. F

Overall super great, Elias is terrifying, let's dive into the next season!!! I've got 2 seasons to finish in like, less than 2 or so weeks(?) if I wana be caught up by season 5 hhhh,,,

Better get started I guess.

Hey there, friend! 😄 This message is so sweet, I so appreciate it, and I completely agree! 😊 2 eps left and a blessed hiatus to process it all and write tons of fic 😂 I wasn’t away from tumblr cause I was discouraged about Lizzington though, don’t worry! I’ve just been busy with end of semester stuff, that’s all! 😃 But here are my thoughts on current things, in case anyone is curious:

I actually really enjoyed last week’s ep in terms of the twins, triplets, and global warming blacklister, that was super cool… at least, up until that last fucking scene. I was just as pissed about the “family-zoning” as the rest of y’all, believe me, and I was feeling pretty hopeless afterwards tbh. But, since then, I’ve seen @roominthecastle and @anextrapart‘s posts (sorry to tag you, peeps, I’m definitely not cool enough to be doing that, I know lol) and those two are giving me hope! Their theories are awesome and they have tons of evidence and support and they’re just plain fun plus they really believe in the ship! So, if you’re feeling down, I would totally recommend stopping over at their blogs and reading their posts and asks, tags and all! 😁

At the end of the day, I think what I’ve been consoling myself with (and it took me awhile to get to this point but also I’m probably just being dramatic af lbr cause we still have 2 eps, the season’s not over yet, and I’ll probably be angry again in about 0.4 seconds) is that that beauty of media and art is that it’s subjective and selective. If you want to watch a show, you don’t have to accept every single aspect of that show as canon, despite what some mean anons are saying to us right now. You can speculate and theorize and world-build with other fans and, if you want, you can stop watching at a certain point and continue enjoying the show in an AU world. That’s our right as viewers. And that’s essentially how fanfic was born: people taking certain aspects and portions of a show and accepting them and discarding others, choosing to enjoy entertainment in their own way and by creating their own by-product. So, I guess the moral is, even if TPTB are not as insightful and forward-thinking as our fandom members, even if they didn’t actually plan ahead and leave clues to bring the audience along naturally to a beautiful ship that was planned since the beginning, even if we never see Lizzington on screen? The ship will live on with us 😃 But, let’s have hope cause the ship isn’t sunk yet, there’s still 2 eps left and a whole other season to go! 😊 Thank you for this ask btw, friend, and much love to you, as always! ❤️

I think the 100th is Coulson’s ep because after all we only have Agents of SHIELD because of him, so it makes sense that Philinda get together in the ep. Also, their ship has been sailing for quite some time. A ship doesn’t start sailing after they get together btw. Fitzsimmons is already at the shore. the 100th probably takes place within a few days from 5x10. Sorry I’m not trying to be pessimistic but I just don’t want you making everyone have high expectations and you all be disappointed :P

I will always absolutely encourage fans to manage their expectations. I have a unique place in the fandom that I take very seriously. I put a lot of time and effort into the ask responses and theories do my best to be careful.

Just because I have personally chosen to go for broke and get really excited about what could come with the 100th doesn’t mean everyone should follow. Its a personal choice I made and I accept that there could be ‘consequences’ in the form of my theories not coming true. I honestly don’t think I can be disappointed by the 100th. For example, if there isn’t a Fitzsimmons wedding I’m not going to freak out, I’m going to enjoy whatever the writers have chosen to give on that front.

I’ve been getting asks about the 100th since hiatus. My theories haven’t changed all that much based on the information that has come out. THIS POST was from January 25th. At that time my list was….

Coulson, May, and Daisy have a big ‘family’ kind of moment. The bond between them, especially Coulson and Daisy has been building for 5 seasons.

Daisy has a super iconic Quake Comic Hero kind of moment and/or officially becomes Director of Shield.

If she leaves the future without the Inhibitor turned off/out this could be when she gets her powers back or reclaims them in an epic way.

UPDATE 3/1 I don’t think she’ll be getting her powers back quite yet.

Something to do with Tahiti, GH-325, or Gravitionium shows back up in a big way.

Coulson’s secret and/or the terms of his deal are revealed and the fall out from that

That could bring on the pain feels depending on why he made it and what the terms were.

Dove’s character or something about her story is revealed.

Familiar face returns.

UPDATE 3/1 This one has been confirmed via spoilers and the Press Release but is now plural…yay!

Deke has a big reveal but its in the “It’s ALL connected vein”

Fitzsimmons have a major moment be it engagement, wedding, or something else (baby bomb kind of thing).

It’s All Connected gets taken to a crazy level and things from past seasons come back in a big way.

Coulson’s deal with the Rider being revealed is a major piece of the 100th. As it should be, its going to drive a lot of what is still to come. That is the one thing they are not hiding at all….and often with AOS its not what they are giving you that is what is going to get you…it’s what they have hiding behind the curtain.

I fully expect what brought him back to life to come into play too.

Coulson is absolutely crucial to the overall story as he’s the only one that can bring the pieces together, my bet is he was one of the things they were missing in past loops that made them fail. I also see him as being in the most danger as his fate in the loops is completely unknown and Loop Elena said “you have to let him die”.

Everyone is going to get a chance to shine for the 100th as they pay tribute to the shows mythology, characters (all of them), and history. They are all a part of something greater.

I have never said that if there is a Fitzsimmons wedding that it would dominate the episode, in fact I’ve said not to expect Say Yes to The Dress AOS edition and theorized its going to be unexpected in how it plays out and one of many insane things that happen in the episode.

I personally took the coming to shore as Fitzsimmons wedding, that was my read on the quote and other things I’ve read and seen over the past few months. Just as your read on it looks to be Philinda get together. I have a different take on where Philinda is relationship wise. It’s just one of those things we have to agree to disagree on. If I am reading it wrong and they get together, I’ll own it. I do think Philinda has some sort of moment, I”m just not sure what that looks like right now and hopefully have a better read once I see 11 and how things shake out back on earth.

Just as you cautioned me not to overstep and get the fandoms expectations up too high about a possible Fitzsimmons wedding I will also ask that you do the same when it comes to Philinda becoming canon.

If anyone feels I am going too far and getting their expectations up too high about things, if there is a theory I am working that they will be devastated that it doesn’t come true, they can block or unfollow me. I totally understand if someone has too. I never say I am 100% on anything, not after last season, and I own that I have been wrong before and will be again. I do the theories, predictions, and ask responses for fun…I win some I lose some. In the end, this is my blog and I want to be excited about the 100th or a particular theory, my posts will reflect that.

techinical difficulties aside lol my ask was mainly what's your opinion about the scene with betty @ the black hood’s hideout? did it further convince you that it was perhaps chic (maybe even hal) that’s behind the murders — ‘cause i’m leaning towards that theory now too. also looking forward to the meta for this ep btw! :D

i think that rather than being “more convinced” i’m becoming less convinced it could be anyone but chic.

i know that’s a weird way to put it, but the targeting of alice, especially targeting her being a hypocrite, the “we’re the same” stuff…it really reeks of a person furious about being given up when his other siblings got to have a nice, comfortable life raised by their parents. and he wants the family to suffer as he did.

i should clarify that i now don’t think he’s the same black hood as the one shown in the earlier parts of the episode—the sheriff’s line about the notes not adding up felt like a quick bit of foreshadowing that the second hood is just taking advantage of the chaos and danger brought out by the first one and using it as his opportunity to suck the life out of the family he didn’t get to have.

not that i love the theory, honestly. i’d rather betty get a sibling she can rely on and go to as a comfort, not be tortured by. but that’s just the way i feel this is going.

especially because then the physical description (a guy in his 40s) given about the hood is irrelevant, if there are two about them. that line in particular about his appearance actually increased my suspicion, because that kind of information, when just so easily handed to the audience, screams red herring.

i don’t really think it’s hal though…that would just be way too similar to s1. but i dunno, the last season i got really elaborate with my theorizing because i figured it couldn’t be so obvious, and then it was so obvious. so who knows.

Correct me if im wrong but- werent the vlogs made before S3/4? Which is essentially one season as it was supposed to be? If that were the case and had S3/4 came out at the same time than it would make sense why Lance's vlog was what it was. Lance has always respected Allura but it wasn't until recently did Lance start to mature (somewhat) out of his flirty habit. Sure the vlog could've been about his family but again, these are vlogs not episodes- it'd be bad writing to show character development via 3 minute youtube clips. These vlogs just recapped on what we already know, or should've known, about the characters including Keith.

It makes no sense to me why people think the vld crew favors Keith. That he got character development in his blog of all things. If you had paid attention to season 2 and stopped whining about how Keith had so much screen time (which? blows my mind even more that ya'll missed so much important information about him) that it was obvious Keith had lots of emotional baggage. Hell, we had hints of that even beforehand when it was revealed he was an orphan. Ofc I won't push orphan stigmas onto anyone but fact is, thats how media portrays it and there are certainly horror stories flying around them as well. But besides the point, The Blade of Marmora episode hinted and foreshadowed many points about Keith's vlog and season 4.

"The suit shows his greatest hopes and fears" - Kolivan about Keith witnessing Fake!Shiro potentially leave Keith behind

"Then you've chosen to be alone" - Fake!Shiro abandoning Keith ie. his fear of rejection

"Your mother will be here soon" - Keith's dad, hinting Keith's moms disappearance

So Keith's character development/backstory? It was there the whole time. If you complain that it wasn't clear enough to you than my advice is to probably pay attention to the show instead of whining about it. The only reason why Keith's vlog might've seemed 'better' than everyone elses, other than you mischaracterizing him the whole time, is that it was slightly emotional. Something people can relate to. Which I don't know if I should be offended that ya'll wouldn't talk about Allura for 3 minutes straight if not longer.

(Back to Lance)

See, I've been in this fandom for only 5 months now but I've already picked up the behaviorisms of this fandom especially with Lancestans. And it all roots back to Lance saying the infamous "7th wheel" line or his homesickness. And I won't forget that Klance™ bedroom scene either. But here's the thing, and you can disagree with me on this, but I dont think Lance was ever planned to be a deep character. If you didn't know already, we are half way finished with Voltron. And there are just too many plot points that need to be animated for the 37 rest episodes. These points include: Keith's family, Lotor's mission, Zarkon's revival, Galaxy Garrison's secrets, Project Kuron, Lotor's ex-Generals, Samuel Holt, Formation of the rebels/BoM, etc. Not to mention hinted Pre-Kerberos as well. With those plot points in mind, I DO believe we will get information on Lance's family as well. Along with Hunk and Shiro. Next to Lance, we know absolutely nothing about Shiro's family and as far as we know, Hunk is an uncle based on the comics. Do you see where I'm getting at here? Yes the creators have said that Lance and the others will get their character development; but I do not believe it will be extensive as Keith, Allura or Shiro's. Writing wise, Lance is an average guy. He doesn't HAVE a deep backstory to revolve around as far as we know. And I theorize, and this is based on Lauren Montgomery's words in a previous con, that he is insecure or feels like the 7th wheel because he was his own main character before Voltron. As in he was already the center of attention save for his time in the GG. Which btw I doubt he was neck to neck with Keith, some of the students in Ep 1 clearly had better experiance than Lance and this was just him ego-boosting. What we know is that he is in a big family. What we heard is that he is the youngest sibling who takes care of his nephews and neices. And while being the youngest does not automatically make you the center of attention, it is a very large trope both on screen and real life. Trust me, I'm the oldest. My parents were middle childs and two of my bestfriends are also the youngest. More often than not the youngest child is favored albeit not always intentionally.

So to conclude, do I believe Lance will get character development? Yes. Just not as much as so many want him to have. And out of all the people in the series, Allura is the most likely candidate to help Lance in his development which is why his vlog AND S3/4 focused on their interactions a lot. Whether their relationship remains platonic or ends in romance is still up to date but you can't argue that Allura is an important person to Lance's character arc.
