Happy release day! As of today, I am officially an author of TWO books. Amazing, really, for someone who’s been on this earth for almost exactly double the time they planned to be.
If you like (no harem) isekai-like fantasy and JRPGs, I think they’re both pretty cool and that you should pick ‘em up. Book 1 here and book 2 here, if that’s your jam
Otherwise I’d just appreciate the likes and reblogs to get these bad boys out there, thanks for reading this post but my books are cooler ☺️

- Captain Marrow Book Reveal Trailer -
It is with great excitement that I present this trailer for the reveal of my book cover, title, and premise! I’ve been vague these years working on this project behind the scenes of running the Shipwrecked page, but the topic is dear to me and the research behind putting this book together has been immense. I assure you that despite the premise, this is in fact a pirate history book, delving into the topic. I read long ago that should you write a book, do so to fill a void in your own library - something that doesn’t exist, that you wish you had, but cannot get. I’ve aimed to fill this void, and I’m happy to announce that a follow-up Book 2 is not only planned but already over halfway complete.
I would like to preemptively thank any of you who might share the video, and I welcome any and all questions you might have regarding the book in the comments below. That being said, I’ve also already recorded a YouTube interview and a Spotify podcast which will both be going live in the coming days, in which I’m interviewed about the book and its premise. Further, I plan on making a dedicated text post this evening addressing the topic and premise of the book for those unable to watch.

200 Follower Special — Cover Reveal!
I did not think we’d get here this quickly at all! This blog started back in October and I’ve gotten a more positive reception than I ever expected. So in honor of, well, everything, here it is: book title, book cover, and summary!
Eternal Night of the Northern Sky
Tumblr media
Art done by yours truly. Thanks to @aneenasevla for the feedback!
300 years ago, the vampire covens of the North took the sun from the sky. In the frozen wasteland left behind, clans of the living cling to warmth in a way the vampires never predicted—hunting the undead down for the stolen fire in their veins. When Clan Maewag’s last blood slave takes their own life, Elias joins the hunting party braving the surface and finds himself fighting against vampires for his freedom and right to live.
Conflict brews between a coven thriving on the glittering utopia of equality and a coven enduring on blood slave servitude, with Elias trapped in the middle. What makes a monster in the sunless, frozen North, when survival demands betraying Elias’ home, his people, and every truth he’s ever known?
Stay tuned for updates on the novel and website, chapter 1 excerpt, concept art, and release date—tentatively Steptember of this year.
Thanks again for all the support!

The Prince of Never by Juno Heart
Tumblr media
Book Stats:
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐(3/5)
Spice Rating: 🌶🌶️🌶️(3/5)
Tropes: Unexpected pregnancy, enemies to lovers, He falls first
Publisher: Indie
Review:
So, one day, Lara falls into the world of fairye. Right into the lap of the cursed Black Blood prince, Ever. Who is cursed to rule due to the black blood running thru his veins. If he does not find his queen, then the black blood will kill him due to this family curse. but then Lara falls into his lap, and suddenly everything gets messed up.
First off, to me this book reads like a cruel prince x beauty and the beast novel. Lara does not give me Jude vibes but Ever does give me Carden vibes.
The world building is very unique. Not a concept I have heard before. With communities like booktok and bookstagram, I feel like the enemies to lovers fantasy trope is getting very congested, and this book I think brought something different to the trope. The plot wasn't your typical enemies to lovers plot. The leads also had ton of chemistry.
Not going to lie, the pregnancy trope thru me off a bit. Like most readers, I don't like it. That being said I do understand why it is there. It's written into the world building.
I didn't love it but didn't hate it.

Book Announcement: Illcontinuum! (available now)
Tumblr media
There's something buried under Wishkah Shopping Center.
Or that was the story Junior heard growing up.
Now that Junior's an adult, all his friends have moved away, and all the remaining artifacts of his childhood have been demolished or remodeled,
Wishkah Shopping Center is all that remains of the world he was once so comfortable living in.
Now Wishkah is earmarked for implosion, and Junior had precious little time to confirm or deny the biggest mystery of his youth.
An eclectic dirge through a sacred retail monolith, equal parts silent and expired yet lively and inexplicable, Junior finds a titanic mall fighting against its own damnation, producing "ghosts" of its previous tenants and slowly revealing the all-encompassing role it had always been playing in his life. All roads leading to the inconvenient reality that Wishkah shopping center isn't the only thing doomed.

Tumblr media
I thought I'd be announcing Illcontinuum was done and available four months ago, but given the release day and the personal circumstances which this book was completed under, time really is just a friendly suggestion.
This is a book that really snuck up on me, fueled largely by the feelings I needed to unpack following my graduation from college last summer. At no other stage of my life, at no graduational checkpoint, did I experience the same listlessness and grief I did in those first few weeks after unpacking my dorm and heading home for good. In my dreams I was back at college but, obviously, that dream college was exactly such. In the days before taking the podium I'd smoke weed and play arcade games downtown (ever spiral before? It's not without fun) -- unpacking, alone, what exactly I was going to miss.
Tumblr media
And it was from those liquid lunches (I'd have a bag of funyuns or something from the vending machine) that Illcontinuum took shape. I've long dug on the notion of liminal spaces but, if you'll let me be real, I do not like the popular set of feelings this suburban phantom pain has taken. Why does it have to be scary? Hm? I'll be less of a sass; is horror, or dread, or melancholy, the only valid emotions we can explore regarding the retail/municipal monuments we leave to waste away in the crannies of our minds? I don't think so. I think in-between there's a very real warmth, and if Illcontinuum were to be listed among "new horror novels" I would worry I had done something wrong.
The end result of what proved to be a turbulent drafting process (probably the hardest time I've had writing one book) is what I think is my most complex and satisfying work. Not always clear and not always meant to be taken literally, the novel enters Wishkah shopping center within a few pages and does not leave until the curious and socially diminutive Junior is cracked open, leaking personal gooey stuff all over the tile.
I'm not sure how that last sentence came to be but I can't bring myself to rewrite it. Anyway...
Tumblr media
While reading, feel free to replace details. Readers ought to bring themselves to the text regardless, but do not fight the moments where Junior becomes you (not You from Radiosault but you in specific) and Wishkah becomes the mall you remember but will never see again. Ask yourself what it is you'd be looking for were you given the chance to go back. And laugh a little--the book is funny.
Without further ado, enjoy Illcontinuum. And keep in mind the three initials you'll enter at the high score screen. I use BRA.

This is so crazy to see. My name, Copyright 2022. My own little chapbook of poems in my hands.
This has been such a thrilling experience for me. The vulnerabilty this book holds and yet the love my friends and family have given me for it is wild to me. Thank you to everyone so far who has bought Embrace and Unravel. If you’d like to check it out, head to the link here.
I look forward to attempting poetry more deliberately in the future. :)

Lud-in-the-Mist - Hope Mirrlees
Tumblr media
Summary: Years after fairy fruit and any mention of fairyland has been rendered taboo in the country of Dorimare, the mayor of the capital city, Nathaniel Chanticleer, believes that his son Ranulph has eaten fairy fruit, setting off a strange series of events as Nathaniel attempts to trace the source of the fruit and save his son from sinister forces.
Quote: “It had generated in him what one can only call a wistful yearning after the prosaic things he already possessed. It was as if he thought he had already lost what he was actually holding in his hands.”
My rating: 4.0/5.0   Goodreads: 3.87/5.0
Review: This book is older than I thought at first, but it is never stuffy. The tone is lightly humorous, with lots of satire centered around the almost hobbit-like bourgeois people of this fantasy world, but it also has a distinct and thrilling undercurrent of menace to it. The menace seems to be coming from one source in the start, but, in a well-handled switch, turns out to be from another source entirely, keeping the whole story full of intrigue. The grounded intrigue pairs nicely with the more fantastic events and the eerie wonder they generate. The ending is deeply, and appropriately, bittersweet.

Unboxing Tucci
This week's podcast/broadcast featured a live unboxing of "The Tucci Chronicles," and we compare the Amazon and Barnes & Noble paperback copies.
We have another in-depth discussion of the meat-and-potatoes side of writing. We've expanding our publishing inventory to include Barnes & Noble, Apple, Kobo, and Google. We chat about the strengths of each publisher.
We are also excited to say we'll be trying out the auto-narration function in Google Play, and we'll report back on the results.
There was also the usual chatter of the holidays and how we spent our Thanksgiving Day holiday.
Mentioned: The delicious food at Eppies and Carol's of West Sacramento.
We hope you find it interesting. Have a listen and let us know. TIA LYL!

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
#seeing some discourse and im not saying lucy grey didnt know#im saying she never dropped the kind of hints that she knew like she did in the movie#or if she did snow isnt worried about them until he very suddenly is consumed by them#snow is not concerned about whether or not she believed him. of course she did! hes snow!#but then shes gone…. for a while……#and its the sudden immediate drastic unravelling that comes across so clearly in the book#that i knew wouldn’t translate to screen yet still cant help but miss#the hunger games#coriolanus snow#tbosas#lucy gray baird#not a crime or anything just a note that i cannot stop thinking about#the ballad of songbirds and snakes#this is all from memory of reading it quite a while ago. so maybe 3 pages is an exaggeration#but i remember it happening VERY quickly and without much external cause#like we as the reader have no indication as to whether shes nearby or not.#snow has no idea either. he just SUSPECTS. and his suspicion breeds the hatred that has been bubbling inside him all this time#he hates how she undoes him. he hates that he WOULD run away with her if shed let him keep his secrets#and he HATES more than anything that she makes him WANT to tell his secrets#he wants to be vulnerable and reveal the ugly nasty parts about himself and still be loved#but he does not let himself and it is everyone’s downfall#he chooses cruelty bc it is easy and familiar and makes him feel more powerful than the vulnerable give and take that real love requires
