Is this fictosexual/romantic?
Tumblr media
I guess I really am fictosexual because it physically pains me that I can't date my OCs or other fictional characters, like sometimes I'll start crying. Fictional characters are just so much better than real people. They're hotter and have way better character arcs and if I want to know something about them, I just look at their wiki. I guess I really do have a type.
I am drawn to characters with complex personalities, emotional struggles, unique abilities, moral dilemmas, and magical powers, as well as the mystical and enchanting nature of magic.
Most of the time, they are stereotypical mean/rich girls. They are also blonde. 90% of the love interests of my OCs are rich, mean, popular, blonde girls who are very smart.
Some of my fictional crushes are: Amity Blight, Apple White (Ever After High), Buttercup (PowerPuff Girls), Catra (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power), Diana Cavendish, Eijiro Kirishima, Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, Himiko Toga, Homura Akemi, Hunter (The Owl House), Izumi Miyamura, Katsuki Bakugo, Keigo Takami, Killua Zoldyck, Komi Shouko, Komi Shousuke, Komi Shuuko, L (Death Note), Levi Ackerman, Lois Lane (My Adventures With Superman), Mary Saotome, Mitsuki Bakugo, Miya Chinen, Momo Yaoyorozu, Pacifica Northwest, Raven (DC Comics), Raven Queen (Ever After High), Ray (The Promised Neverland), Sasha Waybright, Shota Aizawa, Shoto Todoroki, Superman (My Adventures With Superman), Tomura Shigaraki, and Toya Todoroki.
Many of the characters are well-developed, resilient characters with superhuman abilities, unique skills, and diverse female characters, showcasing an appreciation for the fantastical and extraordinary aspects of narrative telling.
I have a problem when it comes to rich, mean, popular, blonde girls (cisgender or not), 🥺👉👈"Mommy…"
I like it when rich, mean, popular, blonde girls in the media are redeemed, like Pacifica Northwest. Her slight character development in Northwest Mansion Mystery (s02e10) was amazing!
In a previous post, summed up it said, "At 10, I developed a crush on my best friend, who helped me start dating a boy. Their relationship led to bullying and harassment. At 13, we had a sleepover, and I fell in love with her.". She was white blonde, and rich. Just saying!
My deep affection for Sapphire (name changed for lore spoilers) is palpable in the way I describe her complexities, struggles, and innermost desires. She's not just a character to me; she's a fully realized individual with layers of depth and emotion. My connection to Sapphire reflects a profound appreciation for characters who defy societal norms and grapple with internal conflicts.
Sapphire's journey of self-discovery and acceptance resonates with many individuals who have faced similar challenges in understanding their own identities. Her struggle with internalized homophobia, influenced by her parents' expectations and societal pressures, adds a poignant realism to her character arc.
My love for Sapphire extends beyond her surface traits and into the intricacies of her personality and experiences. Whether she's presenting her facade to the world or revealing her true self to her close friends, Sapphire embodies the complexities of identity and the human experience.
My dedication to developing Sapphire's character through headcanons and imagined scenarios speaks volumes about my creativity and investment in her story. It's clear that she holds a special place in my heart, and my deep affection for her shines through in every detail I've crafted.
I love her so much that it hurts that’s she only a fictional character and that I can’t really date her.
Would this be fictosexual/romantic? In video games, I tend to go for a female partner, but IRL I look for male partners. I like finding female partners and adopting kids together, spending time as a family, and growing old and dying together in the game. It's not a fetish. Growing up I always had a 'crush' on fictional women in cartoons. I always thought they were very pretty, but I thought that was a normal thing.

Some ppl are 100% certain that All Might (AM) is gonna die 😆. And while I think there is a big possibility that he could die, because I think he and AFO are gonna end each other, Hori could be setting up for plot twist where he survives. However, I think there is no way AFO is making it to Izuku. He is not his villain.
There is also this possibility that I feel conflicted about, and it is that Bakugou joining AM fight and saving him. Sure, it beats him lying dead throughout the entire fight, but Shiga is his villain just as much as he is Deku's. And maybe even more so since he kidnapped Baku, stabbed him, almost killed him during previous war arc and actually killed him this time. While you could argue that my last 3 points were done by ShigAFO, my point stands. Bakugou needs some closure with Shiga, they have history.
Anyway in terms of AM, I think there was a point where his death would have made a difference in the story and could be interesting but rn I am like meh. Not because I don't like AM, original bkdk believer I love him to death 🧡💚, but his death is not necessary at this point in the story.
I mean even Gran Torino lived and we (including me) were so certain he was gonner so🤷‍♀️. Maybe they can make AM faint after the fight and have him wake up in the hospital.
In terms of Shiga fight, I am almost certain that bkdk will fight together. The reason being the 5 min time limit that Deku has. Many argue that it has been more than 5 mins but I don't think so. Sure, for us in irl it has been months but in BNHA time, I think it is less than 5 mins.
People might say but how come we have seen Togachako and Tsuyu stuff, we have seen Kiri fight and Todo fight etc so there is no way it has not been 5 mins already. But here is my theory, the story telling is not linear. Everytime we change POV we are going back in time.
So in term of Ochako and Toga fight and her running after Toga, I think that happened right after Deku left them. So that was during the time Deku was trying to get to Shigaraki and Bakugou was still fighting Shigaraki. That fights connects to AFO fight which again imo was all happening before Bakugou died.
Then there is the Kirimina fight and then Kiri and Shinso ending on top of Giganto. That Kirimina fight happened right after they thought Todoroki "won" against Dabi which means it happened way before Bakugou died and Deku was still with Toga and Ochako. And then Kirishina and Shinso ending on top of Giganto Machia happened right after that which is again in my theory way before Bakugou died.
Then we change POV to Iitodo and started off with Dabi leaving. Which again these events that we see right now were actually happening during Shigaraki, Bakugou and others fight. This might make sense with Baku seeing AM when he died because maybe when Bakugou "died" AM's fight with AFO may have concluded which could mean that AM died during the fight. 🤔
Again I am not sure how AM fight will end all I am saying is that there is no reason to kill him at this point in the story. But I might be wrong and he could be the key to something 🤔. Maybe Deku will lose his shit again but this time Baku calming him and helping to control his heart. We'll see 👀
Anyway in conclusion I am not sure about AM's faith but I am pretty sure that AFO will never make it to Shiga fight and Bakugou will be back to fight. I am saying I am "pretty sure" but in the end I am just speculating so please don't quote me on that if it doesn't happen😭.
I also do not think that Shiga will die, however, both Bakugou and Deku will get some type of closure with him.
Then once this fight is over we will probably have a time jump where everyone is pro-hero. Some ships might be open ended but I don't think anyone will end up married.
The end.

Same, it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth when people use Toga’s mentality to excuse her like where is the compassion for all the people hurt by her. It’s why I hated the chapter where Toga went back home. Ofc people are going to see you as a monster when you have no pity except for yourself and your friends.
I am still waiting for the moment when Toga understands that the pain she lived through after Twice's death is like the same pain her victims' close ones live through
She's really such a dummy. I don't mind her per se but like? Why are lov stans excusing her so much? I guess there's just a type of people that love their serial murderer to be a sad little meow meow but then why write an analysis. Like, I too like to think Enji is a sad little meow meow but when I am analysing the text I try to live my bias behind the door
I really don't get it why won't they stick to joking, headcanoning and writing fanfiction, it's obvious to me they cannot analyse the text seriously? 0 reading comprehension
I mean I guess I can tolerate everything and my only wish is that they understand that their analysis is for fictional content only and that they won't treat irl situations the same way. Because God knows I saw too many westerners treat reality (aka a fucking war in my country) as some sort of fictional story with sympathetic villains (villains in question are war criminals)

I remember a few months ago you said that you were much less adverse to endeavor's arc compared to your old way of thinking and I wanted to ask.
¿How adverse you were to his arc and why?
(Moslty asking since I'm curious and my opinion on endeavor did a 180° when I realized that I actually like his arc) (I'm not an apologist though(not even a stan) I'm aware that he abused his family and that he has a responsability I mostly just really enjoy his arc)
Oy....it's just a situation where I am unsure if I would have come to those conclusions on my own without the fandom space I was in, or if I would have thought differently. I've always, 100%, since I started the manga wanted Touya to go home, and I always to some extent knew Endeavor was going to be a part of that. What I used to participate in is the Endeavor doomsday mentality where everyone acted as if the very idea of Enjidemption was just the worst thing to happen to the manga, was being done so horribly, reading literally everything he did in bad faith yadda yadda yadda, behavior that made reading the manga absolutely miserable.
So it's not that I ever had a huge issue with Enjidemption, I just used to have this mindset that it was being done so awful and all that.
I don't think that anymore.
What I do think is that his arc will either sit well with you or it will not. There is no right or wrong answer to that, everybody consumes his arc differently, it affects everyone differently. I don't have an issue with his arc on principle. Mainly because I am fully accepting of the fact that Horikoshi is writing this manga for himself and people he feels may relate to the material of the Todoroki family. I never had any solid expectations for the Todorokis other than I desperately want Touya to go home. What has changed for me also is that I used to not like the idea of Endeavor being involved in saving his son, I wanted it to be only Shouto! But!!! Touya is not written in a way where that can happen!!! He just isn't!!! He wants his dad! He needs his dad. It's a part of the story I've actually grown to really appreciate because Touya is a very hard pill to swallow if you're wanting a victim who picks themselves up by their boot straps and works on themselves on their own. An abuse victim whose answer to begin healing is getting love from the person who hurt him the most. Most of the main victims of BNHA are not like that, not Toga, not Tomura, and certainly not Touya, honestly barely Shouto too (without Midoriya he would have continued what he was doing). It's not for everyone. But I appreciate it for what it is, because it's a really nuanced take on abuse victims irl who still cling to the people who hurt them the most. Touya is that victim. It obviously doesn't represent the whole, but it represents someone out there (many someones).
I still have some criticisms of how it was done, but nowhere near like anything I used to say. I think overall it's done pretty well, and the fact that it exists is not an issue on principle. It's either for you or it isn't and it's up to each reader to decide that.
However I've completely ditched whatever fandom space still spouts shit like "Hori is an abuse apologist who hates abuse victims" because honestly I don't even know where to begin to unpack such a bullshit statement as that.

Quick intro? Quick intro!
Hello!
Tumblr media
My name is Cas, and this is my self ship blog! I've been self shipping for years but my last blog got deleted last year (because I thought tumblr was a working website that would only delete one side blog, not all my blogs).
Some quick rules:
I do not do discourse. I'll just unfollow you.
I will not support harassment, you will get blocked if I see any or any SUPPORT of harassing people. No ifs ands or buts.
No minors, I'm just not comfortable with them following this blog.
I don't have many rules, I just want to see people being nice!
About me
Irl, I'm a lesbian but I self ship with characters who are men because *insert reason here*. I'm also genderqueer, they/them pronouns only
I love making friends, so if we have f/os who are from the same source material PLEASE interact 🥺
I also am fine sharing f/os with people (I'm polyam irl and self shipping lol) so don't worry about any possessiveness or anything. Tbh I think it's a little silly since they aren't real anyway
And now....
My f/os!
Tumblr media
(These are my main ones, I have some f/os I won't post about a lot, too) some time I'll come up with tags for them but eh.
Dabi/Touya Todoroki (MHA) (I hate you. I love you. I hate you) (stinky garbage man) (tag: dabi 🔥)
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
Cardinal Copia/Papa Emeritus IV (the band Ghost) (my old man husband) (tag: copia 🐀)

Unless he'll speak up about it, there's no way of knowing with 100% certainty if Horikoshi deliberately (con cognizione di causa™) made Toga bisexual because irl demonisation of queer identities etc go hand in hand with her story ("you are not "normal" so you're inherently bad no matter what") or if he just went "ok so this is the thing with her, and she just happens to be bi also", but still. !!!!!!!! Like. I am inclined to believe that it was intentional (especially when *taps sign*), but even if it wasn't it wouldn't change how poignant and fitting of an allegory it is... Also, I get that we're in an era where "I want my fictional content to be of comfort to me and I want to see a world where all is fine and good" is a huge thing, but stories like hers will unquestionably always be It for me... yeaaaaah parallels to the real world united with horror elements!!!!!!

I saw self-ship assumptions so now I'm here to bother you
I think you and Dabi bicker a lot but it's mostly playful. Like you can both take a joke so it's essentially foreplay. People in the League will be going ???? when they hear you two talking to each other because YOU'RE SO MEAN? But then when you leave the room, you give him a little kissy and they're confused again. Dabi just chuckles, turns to them and goes "Fuck, I love her..."
CRYING SCREAMING YES LMFAOSJJS THIS IS SO TRUE
This is how I am irl as well😭 ofc when the person in question has no problem with me teasing them and slandering them LMFAOO
Oh boy, that’s how I constantly imagine the two of us, making fun of each other and being mean for no reason, like I could be talking to Toga and he’d be there to piss me off
Me to Toga: “damn i slept so good last night-"
Dab from across the room: “we don’t care”
Me: “… and I woke up very late today and-"
Dabi: “we don’t care”
Me: “so if you want to join me Toga, I’ll be out in the balcony to-"
Dabi: “literally nobody fucking cares”
LITERALLY SHUT THE FUCK UPPPDJDI

Regardless of the nature of the My Hero Academia fandom’s ship content, I feel like it’s important to mention how stupid the ‘the fans are making it gay’ argument really is.
Tumblr media
Kohei Horikoshi would be damned if he ruled out the possibility of his characters being either LGBT or of color, even if the instances in which they exist are scarce.
Boku No Hero Academia defies tropes through a cliché setting with characters that at first glance seem like mere genre prototypes. As you advance further into the manga, though, you’ll hopefully begin to note how the purpose of these tropes revolves uniquely around defying them, hence the development of potentially romantic bonds, Izuku Midoriya’s character design, etc.
The theme of this manga isn’t an inspirational story of a painfully plain main character becoming the world’s greatest hero— as the beginning indicates. The theme of Boku No Hero Academia is societal rupture caused by hierarchical structures based entirely around the concept that some people were simply born ‘better’ and ‘more capable’ than others, while others were born and destined to amount to nothing.
Quirks are a good 50/50. 50 genetics and 50 the amount of training you put your body through to expand your range of abilities and learn to work around your limitations— yet they are still genetic.
Hero society is discriminatory, it’s unjust and it has shady entities controlling abilities that come to someone as naturally as breathing. The villains are heavily fleshed out because they are victims of a system that tried to ‘convert’ them into normalcy (Toga Himiko), that neglected them (Tomura Shigaraki), and exploited them (Touya Todoroki). They are heavily fleshed out because their experiences along with Stain’s ideology and Destro’s ideology, all helped them rebel against an ignorant, oppressive society— only to have their control over the situation stripped away from them by a dictator taking advantage of the broken state of Japanese superhuman society.
Now, why would Kohei Horikoshi build such a painfully oppressive society only to ignore those that are center to these situations irl? Easy, he wouldn’t. Even if someone’s making a character gay, as long as the content is nothing concerning, it’s not as if this manga doesn’t tackle oppressive systems and discrimination head-on, has a heavily bi-coded villain, and isn’t afraid of exploring relationships freely without limiting itself to the roles these characters initially take on?
It’s 1:00 am, sorry if this makes no sense.

I don't hate My Hero Academia or anything, there's a lot to like, but my god are its politics centrist in the shittiest way.
Okay, maybe that's a little hyperbolic, I've definitely seen shittier centrist politics. But the series keeps having moments that make me want to either throw the manga at a wall or complain. And since I'm reading it on my phone, I'm gonna complain.
(The rest of this post will be discussing an exchange from chapter 360 of the manga. Nothing that seems spoilery to me is in it, but I know most people are more sensitive to spoilers than I am.)
Lemillion: So, why do you destroy? Shigaraki: Because the current framework has failed. Lemillion: Oh, I get it...you've never had any friends. Shigaraki: Huh? Lemillion: Otherwise, you'd realize there's plenty worth keeping around!
First up, to get the obvious out of the way: No, I don't think this is Shigaraki's honest reason for breaking things, and no that doesn't make things better. It's a common claim that people IRL who criticize our society's current framework for failing don't actually believe what they say, and just say what they say for some ulterior motive (like empowering their political allies or paychecks from George Soros or something). Saying that Shigaraki can't reflect any real-world political positions because he isn't honest about his beliefs is like saying that one JKR book can't be transphobic because the villain is just a guy in a dress.
Second, the whole "I destroy because the current framework has failed" thing pisses me off. On one hand, this is not absent from many left-leaning worldviews; the current framework for our society has failed, and does need to be destroyed. But combining that with Shigaraki's indiscriminate destruction makes for a caricature of revolution, someone who wants to change things too much and needs to be stopped for the sake of the status quo. Which reminds me of that arc with the civilians who didn't trust heroes, for reasons that were obviously ridiculous, which was released while protests against police brutality were big in the news...
(I don't think that was intentional, by the by. Japanese news doesn't cover the same stuff American news does, and even if it did I usually give authors the benefit of the doubt. None of this feels like deliberate apologia. It feels like Horikoshi wrote a story and defaulted to the values of the society around him. But that doesn't make it less frustrating to read, though, any more than knowing Horikoshi probably wasn't thinking about BLM when he wrote those anti-hero protestors.)
Anyways, real-world anarchists and such don't just want to burn everything to the ground because everything's bad. They want to destroy specific institutions, but mostly not to destroy things and certainly not to kill people. (Less so if they're trying to protect other people, but I'm getting off topic.) Real-world anarchists engage in more mutual aid than wanton destruction, and the same is true of other "destroy the current framework" ideologies.
Third, the current framework has failed! Shigaraki is right! I don't just mean IRL, I mean that the narrative of My Hero Academia has focused on the ways that its institutions have failed the world around it. It shits on people with unfortunate Quirks, like Toga or Shinzo or Spinner, and on people who don't fit in for other reasons, like Twice or Gentle Criminal or Magne. It gives power and prestige to people like Endeavor and Mount Lady, glory hounds who care more about their own careers than the world around them. Anyone who doesn't think it's failed is willfully ignorant, and probably in a population that benefits from the failure.
(I know Endeavor has gone through character development recently that makes him less of an ass. But A, I have criticisms about Endeavor not actually doing as much to atone for his sins as the narrative thinks he has, and B, he gained his heroic prestige BEFORE his character development.)
The narrative knows the current framework has failed, and yet Lemillion just casually dismisses Shigaraki. That pisses me off more than if Shigaraki was just wrong. This isn't just "People trying to fix the world can do harm if they're not careful"—this is "Even when they have a point, people trying to fix the world can do harm". Even if the people criticizing the world's institutions have a point, even if they're criticizing institutions that are demonstrably making the world a worse place, we still need to be suspicious of them. Especially if they're criticizing institutions in the wrong way.
EDIT: Dammit, accidentally said the exact opposite of what I meant in one sentence and didn't notice for months.
(I know I said Shigaraki isn't actually trying to fix the world. I just didn't want to add enough extra clauses to precisely articulate what most people would understand.)
I dunno how much more I can add without repeating myself, so I'll try to wrap this up.
TL;DR:
I don't think Horikoshi is trying to condemn activists who don't protest politely enough. He's trying to tell a fun superhero story with a bit of politique to make it more than empty spectacle. And that's a good thing to try and do!
But I feel like either he hasn't thought through his politique thoroughly, or he's had to strangle the nuance for some reason. (Editorial mandate, plot progression, concern over Angry Parents...?) Whatever the reason, My Hero Academia comes off as trashily centrist.
It acknowledges the problems in its hero society, yes, but it also criticizes anyone who steps outside the rues of that society to fix it. I'm not saying that Stain or Shigaraki had good plans for fixing it, that the problems would be fixed if they had their way. But when the only people who propose radical solutions are criminal overlords and serial killers, that is telling in and of itself.
Maybe the series's conclusion will surprise me. Maybe Izuku and the other next-generation heroes will reject the institutions around them, reject the legacy of All-Might, reject all the failed framework around them. Maybe the series's happy ending will be radical, not incrementalist. But if I felt there was any indication the story was going in that direction, I probably wouldn't have written this.

my natural hair colour is a dark strawberry blonde!! i’m really lucky in that regard because 1. my hair is light and 2. it takes REALLY WELL to bleach; like just recently we bleached it once and got it to nearly white blonde, so that’s super rad hehe <33 roots are ANNOYING!!!! i find that having a colour (like an unnatural colour) is such insane upkeep and i just blah didn’t want to do it again HAHAHA

Heya! just for fun, whats the wildest/funniest headcanon that you have for dabi or any of your fave bhna characters? 😁
Heyy ❤️ I'm not rly good at this stuff so I decided to write some theories and hcs that I actually liked so here you go-
- Monoma and Toga are related in some way. They're not that similar so I assume that they're further relatives. However, this doesn't make Monoma a traitor. I also think that Toga should be adopted by Vlad King so he could help her with her Quirk and her obsession with blood.
- Hawks has bird traits and he shows them on accident. There are certain traits he's embarrassed of but there's also stuff that makes him feel better about himself. He's never been in a relationship bc of HPSC but he's a helpless romantic.
- Dabi drives a motorcycle. Everyone assumes that he listens to trash metal when rly he only listens to sad rock bc he's a sad man. He cries when ppl are soft with him, he rarely experiences kindness. He avoids lov bc he's afraid of getting attached; they're all meant to die at some point so he doesn't want to suffer more than what he already does.
- Kaminari is not book smart but damn if he isn't smart in other ways. He knows the labour standards act, he pulls brainy jokes, he reads books, he expresses himself nicely, he draws pretty and plays an instrument. And he's a people pleaser above everything else.
- Since Dark Shadow is technically it’s own being, we can assume that Monoma would go through various scenarios when copying Tokoyami's Quirk; 1) Dark Shadow is attracted to humble souls and therefore shall obey em. If he comes across Monoma he'd refuse him. 2) Dark Shadow accepts him but Monoma would turn emo. 3) Monoma manages to copy Dark Shadow but then they fight each other. 4) Monoma gives him apples and Dark Shadow accepts him. 5) Monoma manages to copy Dark Shadow but Dark Shadow doesn't know how to respond to him because he doesn't trust him. He knows Tokoyami since he was a kid. 6) Dark Shadow doesn't like Monoma because he can't afford him all the darkness he's so found of. 7) Monoma manages to copy Dark Shadow but then Dark Shadow goes wild and drags Monoma everywhere because he doesn't know how to control him. 8) Dark Shadow obeys Monoma but shows clear signs of discomfort. 9) Monoma can't copy Dark Shadow. 10) Dark Shadow defies Monoma's commands and gradually takes over his body like with Tokoyami in ch79. 11) Monoma copies Dark Shadow and Dark Shadow obeys him. 12) Dark Shadow controls Monoma and not the other way around. 13) Monoma falls into a shock because he copied something alive. 14) Dark Shadow consumes negative emotions from Monoma and becomes larger and stronger. 15) Can Dark Shadow drain emotions? Monoma could easily end up in a hospital or a mental institution.
- Monoma and Aoyama are good friends ever since Monoma complimented him in the light novels (BNHA Light Novel vol3, ch3).
- Bakugou has hearing problems but he's not deaf. He never let anyone enter his dorm room bc he has just as much AM merch as Deku and it's embarrassing.
- Ms. Joke is not as happy irl. She's just wearing a facade to make others happy even when she's not. + There's no way Aizawa isn't aware of it bc they share some history and we never got the exact details from Horikoshi.
- Geten would be so much cooler if he was a girl and the fandom would simp for him just like they did for Lady Nagant but no one is ready for that debate.
- Dad for one is true. He wants to possess Shigaraki and for Yoichi to possess Deku so he and his bro could continue their war with healthy and strong bodies.
- Hagakure loves body paint, especially the glowing one. Since outfits stand out on her the most, she was thinking ab pursuing her career in modeling.
- Natsuo's mouse girlfriend is secretly a badass. Look, I just want to see more girl characters in this series.
- Shigaraki would be the best boyfriend bc he never loved anything, so loving someone for the first time would make you a special person. He's v insecure ab his looks and doubts himself in whether he actually deserves you. He's the type of guy to turn from cold blooded to the most loving person. But if you ever cheat on him he won't hesitate to disintegrate you.
- Villain Deku and Toga would have Joker and Harley Quinn vibes but healthy.
- Dabi eats at Cracker Barrel. He's a common guest there and he always takes Giran's money so they wouldn't throw him out. The waitress can't believe how much bacon this mysterious man can eat.
- Hawks loves when you massage him at the base of his wings. He loves you so much for it.
- Miruko is a gamer and her and Shigaraki play together without having the slightest idea that it's actually them. One day they decided to meet each other bc they became good friends and when they stood there in Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall it was rly awkward.
- Tokoyami and Aoyama get along rly well and Aoyama paints their nails in their dorm rooms.
- Dabi is jealous bc Re-Destro supports Geten all the time and it's the same mentality except Endeavor never supported Dabi. Geten likes to tease him ab it.
- Todoroki is no.1 Yaoyorozu simp. He's not aware that it became obvious.
- Aizawa realized his dream despite Midnight not being alive anymore. He got a cat tower for his hero agency that he always wished for (Vigilantes ch65). Sushi is alive but still very old. Midnight boys (Vigilantes ch6.5) are still visiting her grave despite having different lives now.
- Fuyumi hasn't dated anyone bc Endeavor would kill them. He has the audacity to play a strict parent (BNHA Light Novel vol2, ch4) when he never looked towards Fuyumi's and Natsuo's general direction for years. He actually doesn't have anything against Hawks but if he ever called him "dad" it would give him shivers.
- We all know that Shigaraki lives from Mountain Dew, Doritos and pure spite. However, he treats Toga nicely bc he wishes he had similar relationship with Hana.
- When it's rly hot outside Hawks fluffs up his wings so he could let go of some heat. Everyone wants to pet his fluffy wings and the heat returns. Poor guy.
- Dabi called Compress "dad" at some point and he's regretting it bc Compress is now unironically calling him "son".
- Shigaraki and Spinner used to play games on the same TV which afo used to contact them and whenever he wanted to talk, the screen turned black and the guys would complain.
- Compress misses the time when Kurogiri used to be around.
- Giran is a cool uncle that has a sweet niece and he loves her v much but bc he's a bad guy working with the bad guys, he's not visiting anymore but sends her nice gifts.
- Yaoyorozu family owns a weapon company bc this is the only explanation why she knows how to create a canon.
- Jirou and her dad play guitars and sing in their music studio whenever Jirou feels off. Her dad is a dork and he always makes her smile. Jirou has the best dad.
- Kaminari's mom is a hero (Heroes Rising movie).

This may be an unpopular opinion, but am I the only one who thinks that saving Dabi would be much more satisfying than saving Shigaraki?
(Again this is not for comparison but if mha follows a more realistic path the trio with the most chances of survival would be: Spinner / Dabi / Toga than Tomura / Dabi / Toga)
you're definitely the only one.... i don't know why you wouldn't want tomura to be saved, he has suffered and been used all his life for someone else's goals, and now his literal body has been taken over by his abuser. he's been brainwashed and manipulated and gaslit. not once was he given a chance. the second all might felt sympathy for him he was shut down because tomura will be seen as human then. deku is the first person on the heroes' side to recognize his suffering and to actively fight for his life.
and dabi will be saved, too. both of them will. it doesn't have to be one or the other. and so will toga. i want them all to be saved because they've have suffered their entire lives and were never given another chance. that's why it's so important for someone to recognize them as victims.
i also don't know why you think tomura is the most likely to die... he's the deuteragonist. i would argue that dabi has more of a chance seeing as how he's actively trying to commit suicide and sustains third or fourth-degree burns, which have long-lasting and often fatal side effects irl, every time he uses his quirk. spinner, also, is more likely because he's not integral to the villains' plot like the other three. if he survives, he'll follow them wherever they go.

I think the problem is that both Bakugo and Endeavor were good villains. At the very least, Todoroki’s dad was a REALLY good villain, because he was shown to abuse a literal 5 yo (I think?) child and he literally drove his wife to insanity (I don’t say that she is not to blame about what happened to Shoto, but at least I can understand that she wasn’t mentally well when she hurt her son).
I swear to god Horikoshi just stole this whole “number one hero that is loved by a lot of ppl and is considered a good guy turns about to be a deranged abuser in his normal life” bit from tiger and bunny and then just separated this one character into two (All Might and Endeavor).
Like I don’t say that it was a bad idea to do it, but at least COMMIT PLEASE.
Also, I will never get over the fact that Bakugo will never be called out on his bullshit, bc then it will be revealed to everyone that Deku was quirkless (after all that was one of the reasons why Midoriya was bullied). Baku can just say “sorry”, but still remain rude, loud and Obnoxious and this is fine, I guess?
Also, let me just say this. If the whole point of redemption of these two characters was to show that shitty people are rarely called out on their bullshit irl, that abusers live happily while their victims left to try and recover themselves, and just in general that life is unfair it would have been one thing. Like, you know, “the world keeps going even when you was wronged/hurt and you can’t do anything about it, learn to live with it and move on”. But the thing is. ITS NOT THE POINT. ITS JUST HORIKOSHI’S SHITTY WRITING. Ugh, I’m really angry :/
You know I think one of the reasons why I am so angry at Bakugo and Endeavor while I don’t really care about other villains as much is because:
1) they are heroes. They are supposed to be GOOD people or at least someone you wouldn’t want to stab in real life. But even though both of them want to be/ARE pro heroes they both do some VERY fucked up shit and don’t feel bad about… like, bro. Isn’t that… unhealthy? Where is your sympathy? Why do you want to be the literal representation of “good” in your world if you don’t even see that your actions are foul and villainous?
And 2) because it’s way easier to meet people like Bakugo and Enji irl than people like Dabi, Toga and Tomura. Like, sure, there are a lot of evil, deranged people out there, but for majority of us we will be lucky enough to NEVER meet an actual murderer/terrorist even once in our life. Bullies and domestic abusers, though? This shit is everywhere and you simply can’t ignore it. I’ve seen people, who, just like Deku, liked their bullies and thought of them as their friends and that was shitty, angering and heart breaking. I know people who were abused by their parents/partners. And that is exactly why I despise both of these characters so much. They are just too real, and at the beginning they are shown to be as great villains, but now author just tries to do every thing to excuse their past actions to the point of literally rewriting the story to help these characters to look less shitty. Like bro. BRO. Just stop.
Also, while I know that Bakugo not even half as bad as Enji (bc, you know… he didn’t abuse his wife and kids… YET lmao), but he was bullying Deku bc of his own big fat ego. He doesn’t even have any good reasons to be a bully like “oh he have a shitty home life” or some shot like this. He is the only child in the full family, I suppose that his family doesn’t struggle, he is also very popular with his peers and smart, I suppose (how can HE be smart is beyond me, but oh well…) and he also have a very strong quirk… in other words, he is just a spoiled, gross kid who is hypocritical to an unhealthy level, who lacks sympathy and doesn’t understand that his actions might have either killed or destroy someone’s life… our heroic Bakugo, everybody
Ooooof…. Sorry for a long rant, I’m just really really angry about it.
Yeah Shoto was 5... I remember this because I remember Rei crying after Endeavor punches him and saying 'hes only 5' and Endeavor responding with 'no hes already 5' and smacks her like I guess thats past the perfect time to punch your child so hard in the stomach they throw up...
Yeah with Rei Im not bothered at all with how she was handled in that moment because she clearly suffered some psychotic break when she attacked her son and then immediately appologized and tried to help... and she was punished for it. Which is a reasonable story bit... however Endeavors 'redemption/attonment' arc never included her... like he never went to see her that entire time and she had to come to him? Absolute garbage.
LMAO Oh yeah... the guys son was a blue fire guy too wasnt he? ... well hey now. His whole ordeal as a vigilante was an awful lot like Stains thing too who Dabi was inspired by.... now you might be onto something nonny! LMFAO
But YES Horikoshi has a hard time committing to anything he starts... even Stain looks a bit like a chump because of Horikoshi never following through with any corrupt heroes...
LMAO Dekus secret already did get out and no one said anything... I mean Bakugo DID technically apologize finally but hes still being an obnoxious ass even now because he can never change because hes the most popular character and his shitty personality is what people like (presumably).
Yeah its definitely not about reflecting any reality... not when all the important good guy characters whos opinions we should care about all dismiss Endeavors past even though they should have no say in it.
1- I actually dont mind the idea that heroes can be bad people... characters having different motivations for why they become heroes is fine money fame w/e... its fine... but its not written well.
Bakugo is the worst with this because he does want to be a hero but he never like reflects on how shitty his behavior is like when he set that bomb off in Dekus face or like how he doesnt seem bothered that Shiga and the crew think he'd make a good villain... if he really wanted to be a hero youd think he'd at least have some moments where he questioned the shitty things he does and tried to do better. But Horikoshi doesnt seem to want anyone (including Bakugo) to admit what a piece of shit Bakugo is so he can never grow from it and now its kind of too late so... just let him jump in front of a bullet and say sorry and continue to be a prick no questions asks... sure. W/e.
2. Yeah The LOV are a bit too cartoony(which is causing its own problems now that Hori is trying to make them seem deeper than they were Togas especially bad.) but Horikoshis writing with them hasnt been great either. Shiga gets some good shit but hes also a meat puppet for AFO so...
It makes sense to hate Bakugo and Endeavor because they feel more real... and they could have had a good story if Horikoshi wasnt so flaky in his writing.
GOD YES. Bakugo not even having a reason to be as shitty as he is really just adds to it... like at least Sasukes whole family was murdered... still a dick but at least in the beginning he was relatively understandable that he might not have been in the mood for bullshit around him.
Bakugo is just another shitty guy whos violent because things arent going exactly the way that he wanted, constantly inconvenienced that other people are living without him being the center of attention. So tragic.
HEY Im always open to bitching about BNHA... its great!

I see your frustration with the heroes conditional empathy in bnha and your (very correct) thinking in that unless hero society changes nothing will get better, in knowing that: do you think there will be a 'subversive' ending/bnha part 2 ? Since the hero kids are just starting to see/feel the villains and the bigger picture? (I mean deku's seen it for awhile, but I don't know where he thinks he's going, with what he believes should happen vs what hero society will actually do)
I really really really want there to be a Part 2!!!! I would love for HeroAca to do a Chainsaw Man where Horikoshi gets to take a break, recuperate, plan new things, maybe move to a magazine where he can indulge in the worldbuilding and horror-tinted concepts he seems to like and where people can appreciate his furry characters.
Unfortunately, I have to think there won't be. I feel like going any further into changing Hero Society would be approaching topics that just might be too heavy, too much, too ambitious(?) to be done while keeping the core vibe of HeroAca. We've already got fans who think the Villains should all be killed, so a manga about not just saving these mass murderers but 'forgiving' them and integrating back into society? oof.
Plus, these topics might also too boring, because it'll have to talk about judicial systems and laws and ethics. I mean, I would love that; but I can see the challenge in incorporating fistfights into that to keep with the action genre.
Even though my dearest wish is that this 'end' we're approaching is just AFO being defeated and Shigaraki 'saved' from his clutches but he still hates Heroes, and therefore Part 2 would be where Deku faces off against Shigaraki/The League/Villains regarding how society should be rebuilt, I don't think that will happen. Deku doesn't have a vision for that after, and after Shigaraki abandons his plan of 'Destroy Everything' for something lighter, Shigaraki probably doesn't have a specific vision either. And therefore enter the MLA, except they're a libertarian cult with issues of their own.
See, I don't know where exactly Deku thinks he/heroes/society is going, and I think he doesn't know it either, because Horikoshi doesn't quite have the right answer for us as well. That's the issue with examining that in Part 2.
A Part 2 would likely be rebuilding a society, and even after 5000 years irl, people haven't come up with a plan that satisfies everyone about how to do just that - and to write something thoughtful and intriguing, nuanced, popular, just - that's not a task I would force on anyone if they don't feel they can handle it. Can Horikoshi handle that? Maybe, maybe not, it's up to him to decide whether he wants to tackle it. A Part 2 would be even more focus on the Villains and criminals and how they have valid points, and Villains arcs are already apparently considered 'taboo' for JUMP. HeroAcaLand is a futuristic sci-fi Japan, but it reflects modern-day Japan and its issues; it's more direct and less allegorical than a story set in an original fantasy-land would be. Somehow I think questioning the status quo is not something Shonen JUMP would like to do.
As much as I berate Deku and his friends about how disappointing they are, I know it's not 'their fault' as much as how Horikoshi writes them and handles their actions in response to the questions he set. Personally I think Horikoshi knows what their responses should ideally be and he's taking a really agonizingly long way to get there and that's frustrating especially when other readers think the kids are doing great, but that's probably me projecting and being blind to the true intent, whatever it is. Is Horikoshi pointing out their conditional empathy and is he showing the trying to tell us that all Villains should be saved, no just Shigaraki, Toga, Dabi? Or is that just my interpretation? Am I even making sense? There's so much to talk about the story, what the story seems to be about, how the author is handling the story, if the author is successfully getting the story to be about what it's about, what purposes the characters serve towards that goal, etc, etc, stuff I should've paid attention to in lit class that I've fried my brain and forgot what I'm trying to say.
But basically, yeah. I think the Hero Kids have conditional empathy and that's something they need to fix. I think they can't just save the STD trio and call that a happy ending when all the other Villains are left to continue get hunted down by Heroes. I think that's the point the story is trying to go for, but sadly I don't think there will be a Part 2 to examine that in detail because it'll be quite a Topic, one that's A Lot and Too Much. I hope there's at least one line before the end where we know society has changed and all Villains are saved.
Sorry for the ramble! Thanks for the ask! Please have a good day!

Thoughts on Bones and the bad decision making
The thing is about how MVA is being handled is that, generally, other animes that cut stuff out or have not as good animation as other seasons (which idk its literally only been one episode so we’ll see what else comes out of it, but I’m just stating the animation thing as one of the problems too) seems to be due to the time limit of an episode + how many episodes you have to fit in the season and evenly space it out + animation budget
Thats what I reason anyway. When I watch an anime and then read the manga, I notice stuff that didn’t get put into the anime, but I usually reason that “oh maybe it was the time limit of an episode and how many episodes they have left to put it in. If they couldn’t add that in but put this in instead, it’s probably due to what they think is more necessary to fit into the season before it ends. I can kinda understand that, and if its the case, I’m not really gonna hold it against them”
Same with animation, because adaptations usually try and space out the animation quality between Oh My God This Looks Ugly during a minor scene to Oh My God This Looks Incredible during an important scene. Again, I can understand that with budgets and the limit of available staff to animate. If you’re gonna hold back on some pieces of animation, I can definitely see the reason for sparing the Good Animation for the really important and impactful parts
But that doesn’t seem to be the case here
Bones cut out stuff that was actually quite important to understand the character. The League finding that racist cult and killing them was part of showing that they are decent enough to not be totally evil, and plus it tied in with Spinner’s arc of discrimination and that “empty feeling inside” which was actually caused by the people who lived in his town. Getting rid of his narrating too totally gets rid of that introduction to his arc, because when you first read that part in the manga, you think “why spinner? why spinner of all people? what distinguishes him from the rest?” and that question you ask yourself gets answered by his following development with Shiggy
Sure, Bones added in his narration in the forest, but the point of the initial narration is to make it feel personal. Spinner narrating in the forest is more like observational narration, rather than something personal. With 220, it felt like “Oh are we getting to Spinner’s arc? Are we getting his development or smthg? That sounds interesting, since he’s a background character. I wonder what will happen” but with the narration in the forest, it kind of gives off the feeling of “Why is Spinner narrating? Why did it switch to him? He’s just watching them, but is this important? I don’t understand”
There’s a difference between personal narration and observational narration. For example, lets compare a vlog and a documentary. A vlog is something personal, and when you watch it, you’re getting a glimpse into the persons life. That’s what I’d say Manga Spinner’s narration is equivalent to, because it literally starts off like “Whats up guys, I’m Spinner from the League Of Villains! We’re not in the best of conditions, as you can see, and we’re trying to work our way back to the top! Stay tuned!”
Anime Spinner’s narration is probably equal to a documentary, stating what has happened and whats going on now. And describing what Tomura’s face looks like. In fact, the description of the face is probably the only personal thing the anime put in from Spinners POV so far. I guess they were trying to keep that bit in to add that “personal” feeling we didn’t get from the initial narration, and since its such a small moment, it would quite easily fit into a few seconds of the episode without running over the episode limit but. there’s a big difference between “Whats up guys, I’m Spinner from the League Of Villains and we’re homeless, but we’re trying to get better!” and “His face looked like an eager child”
With the League in the shed scene, there was an awful lot there to be concerned about being cut. First we have Toga and Twice’s interactions, wholesome and sweet, which was supposed to cement their friendship which would make it all the more heartbreaking when Twice breaks down over Toga being in danger. For anime onlys, they could go off the past scenes from past seasons but idk that bit with them in the shed was supposed to be a recent reminder, to refresh your memory and such
Then we have Compress and Shiggy, because that mention of the sushi was supposed to be something Shiggy would remember and look back on, showing how connected he is with the League. With Spinner and Shiggy, that was meant to show the unrest and tension in Spinner and his ideals, and when he grabs Shiggy to yell at him, thats supposed to show you how much this matters to Spinner and how that moment tells the reader “Oh this arc is about Spinner and Shiggy”. The arc is about the League as a whole, but it’s meant to tell you as the reader that “This main villain and one of his background lackeys are going to have conflict”, and thats interesting!
Dabi’s entrance and what he said about recruitment was meant to be a build up to his conflict with Hawks. It was also meant to show how Dabi, despite seeming pretty aloof, still chooses to come back to the League and be a part of things. That despite Dabi trying to separate himself from them, he still finds a place to belong. Him bantering with the other members also showed how familiar he is with them, again, to show that this is a place he belongs
The Big Thing with Horikoshi is build up. The man slow burns to hell and back, and while it’s frustrating, it’s good. The Dabi Reveal’s burst of excitement in the fandom was because of that build up. It shows that Hori is willing to show little bits of development to really make the pay-off of waiting and reading worth it when something impactful happens.
Now, I can see why that would be a bit of an issue for the anime, because again, time limit of an episode and how many episodes/seasons you have to fit the storyline in and evenly space it out. Fitting it all in while still creating that feeling of tension must be hard, and I can see why it would be too.
But this isn’t about fitting in. This isn’t down to time limit or episode space. The simple fact is that Bones already screwed too much with it before MVA even started. They messed around with storyline, with the cuts, with dragging out scenes that really don’t even mean much - except for that scene with Enji thinking about his family, cuz that had meaning, but it was just way too dragged out. With dragging out scenes, both with and without meaning, I can see that as the studio trying to make fit the length of the episode but it just doesn’t work
And then there’s the Beach Episode for the girls, which wasn’t necessary at all. And I could also see that as them dragging out the season in order to potentially make S6 the League’s arc. But that didn’t happen
Instead, they rushed it, tried to fit it all in, while trying to keep in that Popular Characters Are Here So Please Watch element. Which AGAIN doesn’t work as good story telling because if you’re going to stretch it out for the Popular Characters, you need to evenly space out what scenes are used where and still be able to tell a coherent story. Which isn’t the case here because they prioritized Popular Characters Are Here So Please Watch instead of the actual plot
So I don’t think it’s about time limit of an episode + how many episodes you have to fit in the season and evenly space it out, not in this case. It genuinely is just bad decision making
Animation is kind of an exception because of that whole priority of saving the budget for Oh My God This Is Incredible scenes as opposed to minor scenes. We’ve only watched the first episodes so far and there is that whole concern with the characters height and Spinner’s face, but we’ve yet to see the rest of the arc, so I’m personally gonna hold out until its over to really judge the animation. With the heights and Spinner’s face though, I can see that it probably (probably) wasn’t the case of “We hate these characters fuck you”, it’s likely more about “We have to get this out and done on time so idk just quickly draw and get it over and done with”, you know?
Anyway lol I don’t think I’m saying anything that hasn’t already been said by the fandom, but I still felt compelled to talk about it. It’s such a shame, because anime onlys don’t get the full experience of what happens.
MORE THAN THAT, it’s all very well and good saying “Anime onlys please read the manga”, but for a lot of anime watchers, the only way they CAN follow the story is through watching it. I think I remember reading about how its hard for people with ADHD to focus enough to read the manga (I know thats the case for one of my irl adhd friends at least) and then there’s also the fact that they may lead busy lives. But it’s because of this rearranging of the arcs that I know it has to be frustrating for anime onlys too because they don’t get the full experience and they hear from manga readers that they aren’t getting the full story either! I’ve read some posts about how manga fans were excited to connect with their anime-only friends without spoiling anything, and the anime onlys just ending up confused and unimpressed. I feel for them and I know it has to be frustrating from both ends
Thats kind of why “being creative and messing with the storyline” doesn’t work in anime adaptations. Adding stuff in and having anime only episodes is nice for creativity and stuff but you have to be able to still have time for the rest of the story in order for it to work, otherwise you just end up confusing everybody, and again, those who can’t follow the story through manga miss out on the fun
I’m not an animator, nor am I entirely sure how production and such works, this is only based on the aspects that seem more logical with animes and why they do the things they do. So if anybody who actually is an animator or knows more about this than I do wants to come forward and tell me whether this is right or not, I’d be happy to be corrected with constructive criticism
Same with the ADHD stuff. I don’t know everything about it and there’s likely exceptions to the focus thing, but please don’t hesitate to also correct me on that
If you’ve made it this far, then thank you for reading my thoughts on Bones and how they’ve dealt with everything. Once again I’m sure I’m not saying anything that hasn’t already been said but still. I’m just putting my thoughts down
