Imagine your romantic!f/o always having their hand on your thigh when you’re in the car together. You look at them, smiling at each other and they give you a little squeeze.

as much as i love the idea of my f/o standing up for me and dealing with my issues with others, i know they can’t do it forever (even though i’m sure they would in a heartbeat)
so imagine your tough f/o training you to be more confrontational with others and stand up for yourself! slowly getting it into your mind that you’re worth it and you deserve to be respected.
when someone does something that’s a bit iffy to you or downright disrespectful, maybe you’re f/o will whisper to you, “tell them how that makes you feel.” or if they are the really confrontational type, they’ll be more direct: “tell them to stop talking to you like that.”
but they understand if you get too nervous or way too stressed about it. they’ll always be there just in case to help you out if needed. they care about you after all ♡

I'm Fictoromantic and view my F/Os as real relationships, as real and genuinely important to me as a non-fictional relationship would be. But whenever I get approached with the question of being single or if I've ever dated, my first instinct is to say something like "oh, no, I'm married" or "I'm already taken", but the problem with that is people are gonna ask who I've been with or who I'm married to and there's absolutely no way to explain to your average person that these are emotional connections to fictional characters and not ""real"" relationships. So I never actually say it, but it is always my first instinct whenever approached with those types of questions. It really does feel like I've already been in relationships and that I'm already committed to these characters, so the technically "correct" response that I'm single has always felt a little off to say. My F/Os are as much of my partners and spouses as anyone would be. I don't mind the idea of a non-fictional relationship in theory, but I think I'm perfectly content with my fictional loves <33

imagine: the warmth of your f/o's body pressed against yours as they snuggled you up in the comfort of your bed.
their arm draped over your waist from behind, pulling you close as they buried their face on your hair. their gentle breath tickled the crown of your head, and you couldn't resist letting out a soft giggle.
they felt so warm. so comforting. you can feel their heartbeat against your back. your hearts beat in sync.
so cozy. you don't ever want to let them go. you want to be in their arms forever and ever.
they're your safe haven.

“is it okay if—“ yes. yes its okay. you can literally do whatever you want forever. how you experience your f/o and your relationship or who you f/o or anything else is entirely up to you and there is literally no reason to ask if its okay because the answer is always yes.

sometimes being aroacespec is confusing. what do you mean, most people can tell the difference between platonic and romantic and sexual attraction? what do you mean people don't "choose" crushes? what do you mean that people can imagine themselves in a physical situation with someone else?? isn't dating just Friendship Plus??? hell, isn't marriage just Friendship Plus?????????
what do they mean??????????? what are feelings???? why am i so confused????????
*edit: changed "aroace" to "aroacespec", since several aromantic people felt that this was not an Aromantic Feeling. i see you, i hear you, and so i changed it to be more accurate to me personally, since i am Confused About Feelings Always

do you ever experience the love for your fictional other like pain? you yearn and struggle because of the impossibility to actually hold them in your arms, to kiss them, to see them, to be in their presence and getting to listen to their voice, to melt within their touch. you struggle because you miss someone who doesn't even exist, but the pain is all too real.
or am I the only one?

dramatic f/os. it’s a need.
the type of f/os who are there at your beck and call when you need them. the type where every morning they demand a good morning kiss because “they simply can’t get through their day without it!” and the type where they love buying you little gifts and flowers for no reason other than “my beautiful partner/spouse deserves them!”
that. that is what i need.

A big shout out to self shippers with cartoon FOs
Be they from kids shows or adult cartoons. From half-animated half-live action media. From comics books, strips, and webcomics. From the most well known Disney or Pixar names, to the most obscure and almost never heard of before animation studios, your FOs are amazing and so are you! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! You rule!!
The adults who adore characters from kid-oriented media, and the kids who find comfort in someone from an adult focused franchise; You're SO COOL, no matter how many people might say the content you're interested in isn't "age appropriate"!! Don't let miserable people ruin your fun!! You're so awesome and cool!! Your FOs, whether they're romantic, platonic, familial, or QPPs, love you!!
[Pr*shippers, c*mshippers, d*rkshippers, and neutrals don't fucking interact. Don't steal this, either. If you steal this post you're openly admitting to being gross, predatory weirdos :3]

Dear people with f/os they main in a video game:
Who else logs online and just seeing them in the game lobby/ character selection screen instantly brightens your day !! They’re always there to welcome you and it’s so cute. And spending late nights playing as them, while talking with them about your day,,, it feels so interactive. It’s so cute to me that we can go on these little adventures with them <3
