so i was working on an original songwriting project and getting a little stuck, and then around 11:15 pm, i started thinking about @greatunironic's the most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it's you, more specifically about the extremely good lyric from one of its fictitious songs, "you, you, you / I'd go to hell for you / just to be in hell with you".

then i slipped into a fugue state, and when I woke up, it was past midnight and i had a full set of chords and a melody.

The heavy weight and burden of carrying disappointment from a loved one really causes a lot of damage. Something which comes along with the feeling of love and affection is the fear of rejection, loss, and disappointing the one you love. My backbone is bent by the pressure of my mother's sadness that was caused by me. The wrinkle on my forehead is from my father's scowl which he flashed towards me in 2018. For everytime I laugh I am reminded of my sibling's crying voice. My mother's disappointed eyes. My father's sad smile. Others hurting hurts me. It's like a piece of me goes missing everytime a friend stops talking to me. You know, when Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote :

“Kyu itna hua hai tu khafa? Hai zid kis baat ki teri? Ke maaregi zyada mujhe maut se, naraazgi teri.”

This is what he meant.
