The DAMN plot bunnies!!!

I've had this plot bunny bouncing around in my brain all day. Granted it's been there for a while, but small and well behaved, today however it managed to turn into a bit of a monster, so now I'm letting it loose among the crowd so it might bother others.

It's a sad one, with more hurt than comfort, set in a modern setting with a twist of the supernatural.

And I need to warn you, if fire, trauma and bad injuries, possibly character death is not for you, then read no further... My muse is in a bad mood.

Obi-Wan is a trauma doctor in a hospital, calm always in control and focused even during the worst crises. After all, he has years of experience.

One night, a terrible case comes in after a fire.

The fire victim is a young man who, in an attempt to save his family, has entered a burning building. He is badly injured and it is doubtful he will survive. The team does everything they can to help him, but it's a long road back and the damage is still extensive.

Through his recovery, the young man and Obi-Wan form a friendship, as Obi-Wan feels a strange connection with him and wants to see him succeed. It may develop into something that could be/becomes something more, but Obi-Wan remains a professional and there's another reason why he holds himself back.

Although even if he's getting better, the young man is still suffering and has several serious setbacks. His lungs are damaged and he is in danger of losing his limbs, which are badly damaged.

Late one night, after Obi-Wan has been with him for hours following a severe relapse, the patient asks Obi-Wan to help him end it, he can't take it anymore and has been told he will lose both legs and possibly one arm.

Now the problem is, Obi-Wan can end it, easily, the patient is already on the brink of death and what life could they give him? It would be easy...

But there is also another option, one that Obi-Wan has sworn never to take, but...

That night, he reveals to Anakin what he really is and gives him a choice.
