Hi, Marta! How are u? I read that your pc died and it's sucks. Know that feel 🥲 But I hope that everything will be fine ❤️
I saw that your requests are open and I just couldn't pass by. Your works are *chef's kiss*. They're perfect, really.
So my request is prompt:
9. ripping the other away - “no we shouldn’t” - but when they kiss them again they moan and hold them close
for Ace or Law, on your choice.
Law x prompt 9: ripping the other away - “no we shouldn’t” - but when they kiss them again they moan and hold them close
Tumblr media
hiii! my pc is fine, thankfully - i would have been completely fucked considering the amount of uni work i have so your positive vibes definitely worked. THANKS for the compliments I am *blushing* and thanks for requesting THIS OH MY GOD. It was a hard choice cause I love both these boys so much and choosing Ace would have given birth to a funny work, but this Law piece.. oh my god. probably my favourite, the best thing I wrote so far. It is rather LONG (more than I expected and that it should beee). I could write about this stoic boy for hours!!!! anyway please tell me what do you think and AAAAH I hope you enjoy this!!!
gender neutral! sfw.
feel free to reblog, like, and leave a comment. i would very much appreciate it. if you enjoy my works, click here to read more or buy me a coffee.- from this event.
Law has been watching you all night. He hated the alliance with the Straw-hat pirates for many reasons, but nothing irritated him as much as seeing you joyfully chatting your night away with Luffy and Zoro. He was your captain, you were in his crew, why weren't you spending time with him? He kept himself distant as both crews enjoyed the evening, drinking and eating everything away while listening to each other's stories about how they escaped from the Marine. He didn't know what was so funny about all the trouble Luffy has caused despite Garp being his own grandad - but a part of him was glad to see you laughing like that, your smile lighted up the entire room.
Law truly wished he could make you smile in the same way Luffy did, but he just.. couldn't. He was the captain, he had to maintain a composed appearance all the time to maintain the equilibrium of his crew - he just couldn't make a fool of him self in front of his mates, that would be too much; he wasn't even cut out for it. He wasn't cold, but he kept himself distant enough. Not because he didn' care for you or the rest of his cremates, but because he knew better than letting his feelings get in the way. And so he kept silent as the night went on, ignoring how the annoyance he felt in that moment, ignoring how much he wished he was the one to make you laugh, and love, and feel alive and.. he shook his head, trying to get rid of such thoughts.
It's not like you were excluding him either - you always tried to make him engage in a conversation, always looking for his gaze amongst everyone to make sure he was okay, gifting him soft smiles every time you caught him staring at you. When enough booze finally kicked in, you excused yourself from the table and grabbed Law's arm, walking arm in arm with him and exiting the room.
The soft breeze of the night caressed your skin, causing you to snuggle closer to Law.
"What?" he finally asked, enjoying your affectionate gesture and doing his best to not betray himself. His heart was beating stupidly fast now that you were so close to him, and he hated it. He hated how good you made him feel, how stupidly warm his cheek got every time you were near him. He had to let it go - being his cremate was enough, the last thing he wanted was to catch feelings for you. There's no place for love, in piracy.
"When are you going to stop staring at me and actually do something?" you chuckled, teasing him a bit. Leaving his side, you rested your body against the railing of the ship, now facing him.
He raised his eyebrow in response, ready to deny every allegation you were about to make. Shaking your head in disapproval, you took his hands and pulled him closer to you. Sighing loudly, he leaned towards you, his palms now resting on the railings just beside your hips.
Still towering you, his grey eyes stared at you for a second - he wanted to read your mind, to know your intentions. He hated not being able to predict things, but he was too close to you to think straight. Your perfume was completely melting his nervous system, he was sure he was already losing brain cells because all he could think about was you, and your lips, and your body so close to him, so.. unachievable. He remained silent, biting his bottom lip. You were the one physically cornered, but he was the one feeling trapped.
Letting your hand reaching his cheeks, you gently ran your thumb against his skin, the already growing beard tickling you. Getting on your tip toe, you placed a small kiss at the corner of his mouth - and as you did so, you felt his muscled tensing up.
"Maybe this explains it better." you said.
Before you could add anything else to your gesture, Law's hand is on around your jaw - his touch is rough, strong and indelicate as he presses his lips onto yours. He suddenly felt all the tension leaving his body, the jealousy that grew inside him earlier was now just a memory as his lips are hungrily tasting yours. He had wanted you so bad, a part of him wished everyone could see that scene. But he was quick to snap back to his senses, and so he abruptly ripped you away from him, taking a step away from you. Running his sleeve on his lips, he dried your taste away.
"No." he said. "No, we can't do this. I am your captain." he cleared his throat. "This!" he indicated the both you, his finger moving quickly between the two of you, "it's gonna get us killed, or worst, caught by the Marine. I will not risk my cremates' life for this, nor yours, not mine." he concluded, his chest raising up and down frenetically as he exposed on of his fear.
You couldn't help but smile; he was being so mindful, so cute and oh, so dumb.
"Oh so getting caught is worst than dying?" you laughed, closing the distance between the two of you once again and latching your arms around his neck, holding him tight enough to not let him go. "Your underestimating me, your crew, and yourself, captain." you smirked, placing your lips onto him once again.
An irritated moan escaped Law's mouth in reaction, you were sure he rolled his eyes - but you knew he wanted this just as much. Smiling through the kiss, he placed his hands on your waist holding you even tighter, your bodies completely pressed against each other as his lips completely devoured yours. You were all he desired, he wanted every inch of you - he felt like he was starving for all this time.
"I think this insubordination needs to be further discussed.." he whispers biting your lips, a guilty, full of lust smirk on his lips.

MARINEFORD SPOILERS
For a while I’ve been thinking about this but, I really feel like Ace actually didn’t need to die for Luffy‘s development? It’s really touching to think about it especially with how much Ace is being brought up in Wano, but it’s so much wasted potential. Luffy definitely didn’t need his whole ass brother dying in his arms to know he wasn’t strong enough for the New World.
Marineford would’ve been a great opportunity for Ace himself to develop as a character and get stronger. Like that was when he realized he was actually loved way more than he thought he was and that question he asked Garp years ago would’ve been answered...that he was indeed worthy of being born and he could’ve lived out his life there after improving upon himself now that he knew that. After he and Luffy were saved it could’ve been used as a chance for them to reminisce about the years they spent together and nicely introduce Sabo without making him feel like a cop out? (Makes me feel bad but I feel like he is one. I’m just glad he exists at all at this point and the S on Ace’s tattoo makes him pretty relevant since the Alabasta arc but I digress). It would’ve been better to have Sabo appear as another "secret" brother rather than a replacement brother.
And it makes all of what Luffy did in Impel Down and what he went through feel like it was for nothing. Luffy could've realized himself that he and his crew were just not strong enough for new world because he COULD NOT have gotten to Marineford without those connections and help and led to the strawhats still training for two years... Not to mention that whitebeard was right there and he could’ve done something to keep ace from getting fisted like how he was beating akainu up A FT ER ace was killt. Did he black out or something??
Cool things that happened because of Ace’s death that may not've happened otherwise:
-Law coming to save Luffy and establishing a background for their alliance
-Shanks showing up and seeing Buggy again
-uh....
-wait a second
-all those coulda happened anyways.
Law still could’ve been there as their escape and Luffy could've just been sleeping like he tends to do after big battles. And Ace could’ve been watching him sleep w a smile on his face while he reminisced about their childhood days perhaps??!!?!!
And you know what it’s never sat right with me how Oda just shows Luffy being upset about Ace’s death for, what in his time is only maybe at most a couple hours, and then when Jinbei gets to him he basically tells Luffy to get over it and says that the lives of those he still has should be enough for him to immediately stop being absolutely distraught over the death of his big brother.
Tumblr media
I get that for readers of the time, those chapters (including the flashbacks) would be serialized over weeks or maybe even a couple months? In that case it might feel like Luffy had time to process it but like I said it can’t be more than a couple hours for him so?? Like if you’re gonna kill off Ace I’m just saying make it make sense!!!!!!
Sure remembering his friends can help a BIT....but Ace was his number one!!!!!!!!! His ace if you will!!!! His b w o t h e r..,,.,,., His big bwo................most loved person in his l i f e???? Not just that but the way Ace died? WAS KILLED???? RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM?????? Dadan said it best when she said Ace was the one Luffy loved the most in the world......his bROHETR..............of 10 entire years. They spent all their time together and Luffy just? Gets over it......smiling like always even.......,,? No.......,,,....,,...no.................
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way his friends and family reacted to hearing that Ace was dead was panic on top of grief because they knew that Luffy would be suffering out of his mind in that moment and they wanted to get back to him so they could be there for him. No one expected him to get over it. With that logic it doesn’t make sense in universe that he did so quickly because it’s not even expected that you can just get over the loss of a loved one like that. It makes him seem callous tbh.
But then I got to thinking…and I have reasonable “proof” that Oda didn’t intend to actually kill Ace during Marineford: the fact that he hastily drew up a crew that Ace had started before joining whitebeard? But they were never ever relevant? And they didn’t show up at all during the battle when it would’ve been way more heart wrenching and awesome and fun if they had? Like Deuce and Kotatsu? Deuce’s design is way too intricate and thought out to be forgotten from the story if he was supposed to be there like that. Not to mention the fact that he was supposed to be Ace’s First mate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And who wouldn’t want to see a big cat fighting to save Ace???? They could’ve gotten a flashback story like Little Oars Jr. did before he died. They never even show up in the anime...even though there was a flashback where Ace went to thank Shanks for saving Luffy and Deuce wasn’t in his crew? Are you kidding me. I’m so mad.
Tumblr media
It would’ve been even more relevant to how much Ace has actually changed peoples lives if they showed up.
ALSO Oda had to phone in a bunch of stuff after Marineford to make Ace seem more powerful than he probably actually was like saying he was offered a position as a warlord when, based off of his results in Marineford, honestly doesn’t feel very warranted. Ace actually feels like the least utilized character in the story since he died before he could really do anything. MR. 3 IS MORE UTILIZED THAN HIM.
And then Oda has to go and say that “if you die it means you’re weak” after he kills the only character he’s ever killed during the course of the story and it just had to be Ace (also Whitebeard). 🧍‍♂️ Seriously, maybe if fans weren’t so sure that Ace was going to survive past Marineford things could’ve been really different because I recall reading that many of them didn’t believe Ace was going to die.
It’s like Oda impulsively decided “you know what?? I’m going to kill him!!!!” And then after he did he was like “HAHAHAHA I BETCHA DIDNT SEE THAT COMING!!!!! WHAT NOW BITCHEEES AHAHAHAHA......wait............what now....”
And then he hastily scribbled up some bullshit like “uhhhhh Ace was so strong the government wanted to make him a warlord uhmhhh he had a 550 million berri bounty on his head” etc. And then he thought up some cool looking crewmembers and gave them some backstory and was like “phew! problemo solved. I can’t have Luffy out of commission for a long time so I’ll just make him remember his friends and get over it completely!!” And Luffy pays homage to Ace in the first New World arc by coming up with a new attack that uses fire and never uses it again…has Sabo come back in Dressrosa to inherit the mera mera fruit....and now he’s got this thing in Wano where Ace is all over the place and has even influenced Yamato..which is cool and all but...wtf.......... this and since he didn’t have ace show up all that much before marineford he didn’t expect him to be such a popular character.
It just shows to go you that Ace dying was never really a part of the plan, but Oda didn’t want to derail Luffy’s personality either. Honestly if oda at least just had luffy be straight faced or melancholy before he reunited with his crew, and brighten up only when he saw them again? 😔
Tumblr media
It would’ve been cool if Oda put in little things like Luffy laughing for less time or laughing and then stopping like as if he remembered Ace’s death. Even though the Strawhats were so eager to get back to Luffy to comfort him, they don’t even mention Ace when they meet again. Picking up where they left off like nothing happened. It would be sad to see luffy laugh less but THEN JUST DONT KILL ACE IN THE FIRST PLACE...
I am so sad

Ace, Kid, Law: Crushing Headcanons
Tumblr media
@trxsmaii requested: Hey! May I request a HC for Kid, Law, and Ace where they have a crush on fem!reader who is a strawhat crew? Thank you!❣️
God- I love this request so thank you for entrusting me with it! This was just overall cute and fun to do! To add to the fluff- I gave Reader more of a calm/gentle personality (that way Luffy can be like ‘Nah- she’s my friend- The one that actually lets me take food off her plate so you can’t have her).
Ace, Kid, Law x Female Reader
Warnings: Fluff, comedy- That is pretty much it. Oh- These are on the long side since they also turned out more like scenarios?
Words: 1400
Portgas D. Ace-
Chances are- He knew you before you joined Luffy’s crew
He was immediately smitten whether it be from your appearance or your personality- Something drove him to you, but he could not act on it (do to his self-esteem)
So that became an immediate one-sided crush
However- The chances of seeing you again AND in his brother’s crew
This has to be fate
It has to be some sort of opportunity
Whether he will come back or not after his quest to find “that” man he needs to tell you he likes you to live up to living his life with no regrets
….That proves to be difficult when his brother appears to be glued to your side
And it is obvious his brother does not like you as he does- He sees the platonic love between you but- Luffy is always near you and that proves difficult to get you alone to confess
But seeing you interact with his brother- It fills his heart up with love
You genuinely care for others and you do not mind when Luffy straight-up takes your food without asking (that is why he sits next to you during mealtimes)
But whenever Luffy is not glued to your side, someone else is
You just radiate a warmth like no other and Ace really admires that- He just wishes he can touch that warmth by himself without someone hovering over you
Thanks to your caring personality you do notice when Ace becomes a bit more irritated than usual
He does not necessarily take it out on others- It is more like pouting and you find that adorable and since you consider Ace a long-time friend you do not hesitate to excuse yourself with whoever is by your side to go talk to the man. You after all care for him and he holds a special place in your heart like no other- He leaves a burning impression that you adore
“What’s on your mind, Ace?” You ask
Not knowing when he will get another moment or before anyone can ruin this one, he just blurts out “I really, really, like you (Name). You’re on my mind all the time and I just needed you to know before I continue my adventure.”
The smile that lights up your face leaves him breathless and as you are ready to reply- And from the looks of it- Return his feelings, a hand comes to knock him out
“Nami told me about your plans! You can’t crush my friend, Ace! She is strong!” Luffy ruins the moment.
Of course, he ruins the moment
You know what?
Ace is okay with that since he was able to see your lovely face light up with happiness and amusement at Luffy’s misunderstanding
Eustass Kid-
Kid probably realizes he likes you after he gets to meet you at Sabaody
He had been keeping tabs of all the Supernovas and you were such a pretty face with a big bounty that he had to keep more important tabs on you (but neglected to realize you were a part of Luffy’s crew)
“Of course, she had to be a part of his crew”
In other words, Kid had absolutely no idea that his newfound crush was a part of Luffy’s crew
He does not like it one bit
And even better he probably does not realize he is crushing and hard just because he knows you are powerful based on your bounty
Though- The second he gets the pleasure to meet you on the island- It makes him realize how deep his feelings are really involved
He has not experienced anything like it (probably aside from lust). These mushy feelings make him want to hurl but more importantly- Get you to join his crew to calm the storm in his heart
He will be extra grumpy due to these mushy feelings
When you first speak to him- You do so in a way that makes his heart soar. He knows fully well that you are aware of who he is, how brutal he is, and even so, you treat him with kindness. No mockery hidden beneath
Seeing your genuine kindness makes his feelings worse and he is basically a jumbled man and highly jealous of Luffy
He will ask immediately that you join his crew
When you deny it- He does become harsher and asks for reasons on why-
“What could be so important in that stupid Straw Hat’s crew?”
Tell him it is the actual crew, and he will melt at your genuine love for them
God- Why can’t you join his crew? You would love his crew too. He was sure of it
If you continue to deny, he will go straight to the source- Your captain
He will demand a duel for you to which Luffy denies and he will then just pester Luffy and/or threaten to take you anyway
Luffy denies it all- “Pfft, you can try to take her, but she will always be my nakama” or “She can’t leave- Who will give me their food?”
Luffy does not mean for it to come out condescending but that is how Kid takes it and it fuels the fire to obtain you even more
Basically- He becomes bitter to Luffy and pleading to you- It is just a whole mess since he genuinely likes you and your calm heart
He even respects your loyalty to Straw Hat- but despite the answers he receives, he will still yearn for you
Trafalgar Law-
Law will admit that you caught his eye the second he saw your bounty
He will admit that you hold a beauty he has not quite seen but when he meets you- You completely screw him over- Not intentionally of course but in a way that he can’t recover from
Much like his alliance with Luffy- He has received many surprises but once he holds an actual conversation with you- He hates how fast his heart beats
He will admit you are pretty- That your personality is charming, but he will deny his crush on you until he deals with a certain someone
Until then he acts as he loathes you (even though he loves the conversations you share with him and even more that you do not take his bitterness to heart)
You still meet him with kindness after he treats you coldly and it surprises him
How can you be so sweet? How can you be so genuine?
Then it hits him- That is why you were in Straw Hat’s crew- Your Genuity
Once again, the Straw Hats manage to surprise the heck out of him and he falls harder the more he tries to deny his crush
Though he grows to love being around you and he eventually seeks you out when the others become too much for him to handle. Your calm and gentle personality being the perfect match to help with his burnout he receives from the others
Because he does get close to the Straw Hats though- It becomes inevitable to not get close to you- With the amount of stress that could kill a population on his shoulders, he longs for your gentle touch (he saw you petting Luffy’s hair and he almost saw red since he could not receive the same treatment) to ease the burden off his shoulder even for a minute
Then one night- He receives just that
He leans over against a table with you by his side and he just sighs heavily
You take that as a sign of needing comfort and before you could think to ask your fingers begin to thread into his hear and massage his scalp
He freezes- Confused from this sudden affection before he realizes- Holy mother of living life does this feel good- Straw Hat gets this special treatment all the time?!
You bet your butt he vows then and there to steal you away eventually- He does not care how long it takes he is too infatuated with you but he hates the thought of dealing with that stubborn Straw Hat
Even so- after he deals with that certain business in Dressrosa he will finally confess
And much like Ace’s scenario- Luffy overhears and misunderstands that Law is either trying to crush you or steal you away from him and despite their friendship, Luffy will say no <3

Original Plans
Law’s original plan - to die on Dressrosa - didn’t work out. Luffy’s original plan - to make Law accept his friendship - did work better than expected. There are just some bumps along the road.
Also on AO3:  here
When Torao first proposed an alliance to him, Luffy was elated. An alliance was basically a friendship and you could never have enough of those. Also Torao was a good guy, no matter what his other crew members said about him. They don’t call him the surgeon of death for nothing, Usopp had argued rather urgently and Luffy had brushed him aside. The Marines had called Luffy chaotic, completely nuts and even dead before, and none of that was true either. (Maybe he was a bit chaotic, but the other things were lies.)
Pirate alliances are marked by betrayal, Nico Robin had said, always the wise one of them, and so Luffy had asked Torao if he planned to betray them. He denied and really, that was enough for Luffy. If Torao had wanted him dead, he just didn’t have to show at Marineford. While Luffy wasn’t sure why he did show up at Marineford - Torao never gave simple answers to his questions, and thinking about what Torao gave as answers for too long made Luffy’s head hurt - he was sure that Torao wouldn’t have been there if he wanted Luffy to die. He did risk his own life and his entire crew on top of it. You don’t just do that out of a simple mood.
So an alliance it was. While Kaido was arguably the Emperor he knew the least of, he was still a better target than Shanks was. Maybe taking on Big Mom first would have been smarter, since he already started an argument with her on Fishmen Island, but Big Mom could wait. He would take her down eventually anyway and if Torao thought it would be smart to go after Kaido first, than Luffy would trust his judgement. Torso was smart after all. Also this seemed oddly personal to Torao. At least the part of the plan that involved Doflamingo did.
*
It turned out, Torao didn’t betray them at Dressrosa. At least not in the way his crew thought he would. He did try to end the alliance and by extent their friendship, which counted as betrayal in Luffy’s book. But he was unsuccessful, because Luffy would have never ended their alliance at this point anyway. There was a time and place, when they would have to part ways again, eventually. But it wasn’t on Dressrosa, not when Torao looked like he was ready to die and not when he tried to protect Luffy. (There was someone, in a somewhat distant past, who lost an arm to protect Luffy and someone, in a not so distant past, who did give his life to protect Luffy. He wouldn’t let it happen again.)
So no, Torao was not allowed to end the alliance. Which annoyed him, of course, but Luffy didn’t care. He could defeat Doflamingo without the elaborate plan Torao had made. He didn’t even remember most of it anyways, and he was somewhat sure, that the plan had failed the moment Luffy entered the coliseum in an effort to get Ace’s devil fruit back. Plans never worked out for him anyway, not in the way they worked out for Torao. He had a general idea of what he had to do and he would get it done. Somehow.
Maybe the Marines weren’t so far off, when they had called him chaotic.
But Luffy wasn’t upset now, because Torao betrayed their friendship. They would have to talk about that eventually, but it wasn’t the main issue. Torao was prepared to die in Dressrosa. He expected it, he probably even had his death integrated in his plan somewhere. (Maybe Luffy should pay more attention the next time a plan was presented to him.) And that was the most upsetting thing that happened to him since they entered the New World. Because Torao didn’t lack trust in Luffy or any of the Strawhats. He pretended he thought their were idiots and he looked like he lost hope in humanity when Luffy, Usopp and Chopper had fun on deck, but he really believed in and trusted them. He was confident they would still follow his plan after his death after all.He just didn’t think Luffy could defeat Doflamingo.
I would have been insulting, if Torao was any less scared about Mingo.
He never told Luffy why he was scared, he never even seemed scared. (Not like Usopp and Nami and most times even Chopper did.) But he was. He was scared and he went up against him anyways, fully prepared to die and Luffy hated everything about this.
„Why are you brooding here?“, a voice snapped him out of his thoughts and surprisingly, it was Torao. He would have thought if anyone came looking for him it would have Usopp. Zoro would have also been a likely candidate, if there were any less alcohol. But the drinks were flowing, so Zoro wouldn’t miss him for a while. Luffy wasn’t exactly a drinking buddy, he rarely drank alcohol as it was and that made him an uninteresting companion for Zoro at parties. Not that he minded, there were plenty of other people he could do plenty of other things with. Just Torao wasn’t really on the list.
„I’m not ‚brooding‘“, Luffy used his fingers to make air quotes, „I’m not you after all. I was just thinking.“
„That’s new“, Torao answered, sounding way more surprised than he had any right to, in Luffy’s opinion.
„I can think“, he protested, crossing his arms in front of his chest, while turning away from the other. And then, for good measure he slightly lifted his chin and added: „And my thinking doesn’t end in me dying either.“Which was probably something he shouldn’t have said out loud. Not like that. But it was also true and something he wanted to discuss with Torao anyways, so Luffy couldn’t find it him to regret saying it. (He did regret the way he said it, later, when he’d calmed down.)
„My survival wasn’t essential for the plan“, Torao informed him professionally. The same way he told Luffy not to exercise too much after he’d woken up on the submarine. The way he told Jinbei to keep an eye on Luffy, if he didn’t want the Strawhats to die. The very same way he told Rayleigh, that Luffy’s training would have to be postponed for a few weeks or else his stitches would tear. It made Luffy sick.
„Your survival was important for me“, he argued and Torao looked like wanted to say something to that too.Except that he didn’t. His mouth opened but no words came out and then Torao closed it again. Luffy waited a few more seconds, in case there was something to say after all. Makino might not have succeeded installing manners within him perfectly, but he knew the basics. He always let people say their piece. (Unless he was distracted by something.) When it didn’t seem like Torao found something he needed to say, Luffy talked instead.
„We’re friends and I like you. Usopp says you’re scary, but you’re really not. You saved my life at Marineford - “
„There’s no need to thank me for that“
„You saved my life at Marineford and I liked you ever since. You have awesome tattoos and a really cool bear in your crew and you’re really nice.“
„I’m really not“, Torao denied, but he sounded like he’s already given up that argument. At least he was learning. Slowly, but he learned. Luffy knew that that argument was just for show anyway. A reputation to uphold, or however Zoro phrased it. Not that Luffy had ever cared about reputations, his or those of other people. But if it was important enough for Torao to put in the effort, Luffy could respect that. So, no need to remind him that he did help all those children in Punk Hazard. Law still remembered it anyway.
„You’re my friend.“, Luffy said instead, because really Torao was very slow on the uptake on that. It didn’t matter that he didn’t want to call them ‚friends‘, they were friends anyway. Because Luffy said so and because he really liked Torao and because Torao seemed like he needed a friend. „Even though no one can say your last name“, he added as an afterthought, because a great as Torao was, he had the worst last name.
„Literally everyone but you can. And I’ve told you to just call me Law“, Torao shot back, tho it lacked any real fire. Like he was tired of arguing and was just accepting his fate. Good, he was Luffy’s friend no matter how often Luffy needed to remind him of that.
„I really like you“, Luffy told him, once again for good measure. He didn’t get a real answer from Law on that, but his cheeks got a light color, like Sanji’s cheeks did, when Nami or Robin complimented his food. Sanji was always really happy then, so Torao had to be really happy now. And Luffy just called him his friend. Which apparently Torao needed to hear that they were friends way more, if it made him this happy from just hearing it once.
„I really like you, too, Strawhat-ya“, Torao mumbled and he couldn’t even look him in the eye, but that was alright with Luffy. If Luffy brought it up in front of his crew, Torao would probably deny ever having said that, like Zoro denied being worried about Sanji, too. But that didn’t matter, because Torao had said it and that made Luffy happier than almost anything in recent memory. (Sabo still being alive was a big thing, that made him happier than he ever remembered being, but that was the only other thing. Even Sanji’s cooking didn’t come before this and Sanji’s cooking was perfect.)
„Okay, so no more plans that would have you die. You’re too important for me to just let you die. Okay?“, Luffy insisted and Toraos eyes glazed over like he remembered something very important and very far away. Luffy knew that feeling so he allowed Torao the few seconds he very obviously needed, before he inquired again: „Okay?“
Torso seemed like he was abruptly thrown out of something rather intense, but he didn’t seem mad. One side of his lips quirked upwards, as if he wanted to smile, but it didn’t become a real smile. Which was another problem that Luffy would tackle eventually. (He’s seen Torao smirk plenty of times but he couldn’t remember one genuine smile.) For now, Torao’s insurance that, yes, he wouldn’t bet his life this easily again would have to be enough. He didn’t want Torao to promise to survive. Not like Ace did, not again. But he wanted Torao to do his best, to see him become the pirate king. Torso smirked again, at that, and mocked Luffy for being too sure of himself.
„What if I find the One Piece before you do?“, Torao asked, clearly not as serious as he pretended to be. But he was lighthearted again, the tension in the air completely dissolved, so Luffy could humor him. Torao had asked an important question, after all.
„You won’t. But I will still really like you, even when I’m King of the Pirates.“
And somehow, Law seemed really happy about this. Maybe, liking Torao more than originally planned would work out for Luffy, after all.

The development of Law’s relationship with Zoro - Part 4: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (Saving Law)
<<Part I: Before Meeting>> <<Part II: Sabaody Archipelago, The First Meeting>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (A)>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (B)>>  <<Part IV: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (The Plan Failed)__ (Saving Law)__(Protecting Law)__ (Birdcage, Pica and Doflamingo)__ (Aftermath)>>
The mission of saving Law (chapter 731) was carried by Luffy, Zoro and Kinemon, while Franky, Robin and Usopp were responsible for destroying the factory with the help of dwarves.
Before Luffy left the Colosseum, he met Sabo (his and Ace's long-lost brother that up to this moment was considered to die in their childhood) which made Straw Hat emotionally shaken. Due to the excess of emotions, Luffy couldn’t stop crying what didn’t go unnoticed by Zoro:
Tumblr media
Though Zoro is usually lenient in regards to Luffy’s moods, the trio managed to run away from marines in disguises made by Kinemon and get close to Royal Palace while Luffy still cried without a proper explanation why. Zoro’s patience finally ran out:
Tumblr media
Zoro not only told Luffy to get a grip of himself (“do you still want to go save Law?”), but also actually smacked him. This… is a very uncommon act for Zoro. Because yes, he never beat around the bush when it comes to telling hard truth nor hesitate to reprimand his nakama (or, just straight sum up their antics as “idiotic”), but hitting Luffy is mainly done by Nami and Usopp or Sanji. It can’t be said that Zoro never displayed “a rough approach” to Luffy before - because he did it too from time to time, especially in the earlier parts of the story yet after time-skip, I can’t recall any moment similar to this one. It is so uncommon now for him to lose patience in regard to Luffy’s antics and/or emotional “breakdown” to the point of hitting him and yet it happened when Roronoa and Luffy were in the middle of a rescue mission to save Law.
Luffy - a man for whom Zoro was ready to give up his life, and for whom he was so worried once he learned about Ace’s death - was a crying mess since he left the colosseum (and some time already have passed between that and now) and Zoro just smacked his captain in a way Nami and Usopp usually do. What speaks a lot about the level of distress / pressure he must have felt.
Of course, it is hard to tell for sure, if Zoro was so worried about Law because he already took to liking him, or was that more about saving ally as returning debt, since Law saved Nami, Chopper, Brook, Momonosuke and Sanji from Doflamingo. I personally think it is a mix of both reasons. Zoro always took seriously his duties and “promises” (and alliance is a form of unsaid promise) but for all Straw Hats, at this point of story Law was no more “just ally”. Whatever his reasons were, taking down Doflamingo was something very personal; a matter worth dying. Straw Hats, not even knowing the full story behind Law’s choice, did not want to let him down.
In the meanwhile, in the Royal Palace, Law was put on the throne of Corazon. It is hard to tell, was he truly unconscious or did he pretend to not bring the enemy's attention to himself but if the latter, he could listen to Doflamingo’s talk with (ex)King Riku about the situation. Luffy was stuck in the Colosseum, ignoring the plan. Franky was actually doing what he promised to do, but without any support, which was not good enough. Like Doffy said, the alliance's only pieces left were Pirate Hunter Zoro and samurai Kinemon whose location and intention were unknown. What wasn’t the best information but not the worst either - there was still hope Straw Hats had some plan in mind. Especially since Doflamingo did not mention at all what happened with the rest of the crew, so Sunny Go could sail already far away from Dressrosa.
Tumblr media
On their way, the rescue team was aided by dwarf Wicca and Viola, who had personal reasons to hate Doflamingo. With her help, pirates get a chance to invade the palace by secret passage not known even to the enemy (chapter 735). The long stairs were going to take them inside lower part of building but Zoro came with smart shortcut by using “handmade lift”
Tumblr media
While Kinemon was making sure Viola was not left behind, Zoro’s impatience showed up again by rushing Luffy - even though his captain wasn’t even fooling around and did as he was told.
Tumblr media
Was Zoro in such a hurry because of the heavy pressure of time (Law captured by enemy willing to hurt him beyond necessary and Franky’s team already on move) or just simple desire for fight, hard to tell for sure. But in all fairness, looking how Zoro was willing to follow Viola to another secret passage rather than directly attacking enemy soldiers (in contrast to Luffy who simply punched the main door with gomu gomu no gigant pistol), seems like saving Law was a serious matter to him, not just an occasion for a good fight. His reaction to Luffy’s directness points to that too, because usually Zoro was first to follow the captain into fight and not so ago his idea to get inside the colosseum unnoticed was to cut it… gently.
Tumblr media
Now, Zoro, Kinemon, Wicca and Viola were pretty shocked and / or pissed at Straw Hat. Zoro’s whole reaction was, well, extremely expressive.
Once Luffy made ruckus, Doflamingo was informed about intruders (chapter 736):
Tumblr media
Since Doffy was still in the same room as Law, Trafalgar may or may not hear that Luffy (who was supposed to fight in Colosseum, to Doffy’s great surprise) and Zoro actually get inside the palace. To save him, instead of destroying SMILE Factory. What, in the current state of Law’s mind was the wrong decision to make.
Anyway, the rescue team was soon confronted by Pica, one of three top Doflamingo’s officers. Zoro stayed behind to fight with the enemy, so Luffy and Viola could head to the throne room, to save Law (chapter 740).
In meanwhile, Law clearly regained consciousness, listening in silence to Doffy’s rant about Straw Hats and their unexpected attack on Sugar and connection to the little Tontatta people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Law of course couldn’t know what was going on since he had no information about Sugar’s role in enslaving people nor who the dwarves were. He said to Doflamingo he barely could understand what he was saying. Yet one look at his former boss (the biting nails reflex) could tell Trafagar how serious the situation was and maybe, just maybe the Straw Hats knew what they were doing which means that his plan wasn’t a total failure. Yet questioned, Law also said “I have nothing to do with them anymore… the alliance is over”.
Tumblr media
Law could say that to confuse (mess) with already uneasy Doflamingo or because he truly believed the alliance was over - or maybe rather, should be, to not drag Straw Hats into their death? Most likely it was a mix of all reasons, but one thing was clear - Law didn’t wait for rescue.
Soon it turned out that Straw Hats dealt a serious blow to the enemy. Law probably didn’t know what was going on, but hearing Trebol crying(?) over the Den Den Mushi and seeing Doflamingo’s reaction was some sort of reassurance in the difficult situation of his.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A victory of the alliance that seriously reduced the enemy's advantage. Then out of nowhere, a one-legged man (Kyros) attacked Doflamingo and soon Monkey D. Luffy showed up to fight Shichibukai. Law’s reaction? So, so unhappy to see Luffy who should (alongside with Zoro) worry about destroying factory rather him (chapter 744):
Tumblr media
Not that Luffy listened or cared for what Law had to say on the matter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The situation get out of Doflamingo’s control to the point he decided to use “Birdcage” - something that clearly terrified Law (a detail that will be important later to talk about):
Tumblr media
Luffy had a short lived skirmish with an enemy that ultimately ended by throwing Law, Luffy, Viola, KIng Riku, and Kyros out of the room by Pica (who went to aid Doflamingo). All of them landed in the place where Zoro already was (chapter 745), still looking for Pica who just disappeared during their fight. Doflamingo then started the Birdcage, intending to A) kill everyone (beside his own Family) before the truth would come out and B) make everyone play his “game” in which people murder each other (“Kill or be killed! All of the people of this country are now “hunters”!!! If you want to be saved… you have no choice but to take someone’s head!!!”) and C) set high prices on Straw Hat-Heart pirates and their allies. Zoro, Law and Luffy get on the list of course.
The next part: Protecting Law

To Lose you...Ace, Luffy and Sabo
Request: ASL have a baby sister around the age of 10, Ace and Luffy raised her and she joins Luffy and goes with him to Marineford, role reversal and their little sister takes Ace’s place and dies in his place.
Extra Note: Ooh boy...this one really got me...I was crying reading this request because honestly I can’t even imagine their reactions if something like this happened...anyways, proceed with caution...because we have so major feels over here.
A little extra warning: Very graphic blood and gore and graphic descriptions of death...please be advised this doesn’t have a happy ending and this may be triggering for a lot of people. I’m sorry in advance.
Ace
Tumblr media
From the minute Ace set his eyes on you, all those years ago, he knew that he had to protect you.
You were so small...just a little baby when he, Luffy and Sabo found you whilst exploring out in the forest.
They all decided together that you would be their honorary little sister, and grow up alongside them.
They may have needed a little help from Dadan and the Bandits here and there, but they took it upon themselves to work as a team to raise you together.
The first time that they experienced a loss, was when Sabo “died” and that was unbearable, but it was the thought of you that kept Ace and Luffy going.
So the four of you became three, and Ace vowed to never let anyone he cared about get hurt...or even worse die...again.
Ace loved seeing you grow up, watching you become your very own person...brave and determined, you stood up for what you believed in and he felt his heart soar whenever you asked for his help.
Being the eldest brother, Ace took on a lot of responsibilities, most of which he had to leave behind when he left to sail the seas.
Ace had thought the most heartbreaking thing he would ever see in his life was when his beloved little sister stood at the edge of the docks, crying her eyes out as he sailed away.
He had promised to see her again, and although in his heart part of him wished that she would remain with Makino and Dadan on their home island, he knew that she would sail away with Luffy when he left. Luffy was far more lenient with rules when it came to their family.
But he never thought this would be the way to see her again...in Marineford, crying out to him to believe in her and Luffy.
Ace felt less worried about his own fate and more worried about how he could get you safely away from this battlefield whilst he was shackled and about to be killed...
Of course...everything seemed to work out, Ace, Luffy, and their wonderful little sister were only a little way of being safe, Trafalgar Law, standing upon his submarine after agreeing to allow them board and escape.
Ace had merely turned his head away for one second...away from watching his little sisters back to survey the path ahead when he heard a pained gasp and a grunt of surprise.
When he looked back, Ace had never felt more sick to his stomach.
His baby sister...only 10...was standing shellshocked, eyes were blown wide and mouth open in a silent gasp, blood dripping out of a hole through her small body. Flames and magma oozed around and out of it and Akainu stood behind her, his face a mix of anger and confusion.
It only took Ace a second to see what had happened, the minute he had looked away to the front, his little sister had looked back and taken the blow that had surely been aimed at himself.
There’s really no way to describe what this poor boy is thinking, his body completely shuts down...and it’s as if the entire battle around them comes to a halt. He can feel every person's eyes on them...looking at his little sister.
Akainu pulls away, if not somewhat guilty for what he has done to a child, pirate or not, and doesn’t make another move for either Ace or Luffy.
His little sister takes a small step, and one more before looking down, and then back up. Her face looks confused before she looks to Ace.
The minute she finds his eyes, her body collapses...and Ace is right there to scoop her up.
“You're ok! You're ok...!” Ace gasps, his mind is still shut down, and he can’t think, “Everything’s going to be fine...we can fix this...there has to be a doctor...Trafalgar...he’ll fix you.”
But Ace knows better, he watches as the light starts draining from your eyes, and you look confused...so confused but he can still hear your faint whisper as you say “I love you guys...” for the very last time...
Ace doesn’t scream, he doesn’t move...he can hear Luffy let out the most heartwrenching noise imaginable...but he just looks at you, your eyes still half-open, not quite shut...staring straight through him.
You don’t look dead...surely your just playing a small little joke.
But when he feels a hand on his shoulder and looks up to the Heart Pirates captain, Law, he sees the smallest bit of sympathy in his otherwise cold eyes.
He knows that he has one last job to do...one last thing before he can stop everything.
He takes his little sisters body over his shoulder, pretending that the red liquid dripping down his chest isn’t really your blood, on the other shoulder he scoops up Luffy’s immobile body and he races to Trafalgars ship.
He allows Law to take Luffy to the medical wing, hooking him up and begin treating him for shock, and then they bring his little sister's body to another room until they can find a place to bury her.
Then and only then does he allow his body to fall into the unconscious state he’s been fighting off for what feels like hours.
When he awakens, Ace simply lies in the medical bed that Law has dumped him off then, trying to process the information and everything that's happened.
Ace ultimately makes the choice to bury her next to Whitebeard, knowing that the old man will take good care of his little sister in whatever afterlife there may be.
He also makes the choice to leave the remaining Whitebeard Pirates ranks...choosing to now alliance himself with his brother, and vowing to never. ever. EVER, let anyone touch a hair on Luffy’s head.
Ace won’t be the same ever again, after this loss...but when he thinks of your smiling face, despite the sadness he feels at your memory, it reminds him to keep on fighting, for himself and his beliefs, and for Luffy.
Luffy
Tumblr media
We know Luffy is goofy and immature, and sometime’s careless...but older brother Luffy is more serious. He observes everything that has to do with his sister, and he takes extra good care of her.
He didn’t put up a fight when it was time for him to set sail and his little sister wanted to go with her. He felt confident enough that he could protect her.
When it was time to go to Marineford, Luffy tried to get her to stay behind, but his little sister wouldn’t hear of it...she wanted to protect her older brothers as much as they protected her.
Luffy and his sister worked together to free Ace, and Luffy was overjoyed. Everything was going to work out, and they would be reunited again.
Luffy wouldn’t have to hear his baby sister sob Ace’s name or call for her brother in her nightmares.
Ace led the group towards the submarine, and Luffy follows eagerly behind.
Unlike Ace, who looked away from their sister the moment she was struck, Luffy is forced to watch the entire thing.
He sees Akainu coming towards them, and he watches his baby sister catch his eye, see’s his fist raised to strike Ace, and all but dives in front of the firey fist.
He is forced to watch the heated fist smash through his little sister's body, he hears the sizzling of their skin, he watches the initial blood crust over before new blood rises.
Ace turns his head back finally, but Luffy’s already seen enough. His voice is trapped in his throat, and everything is shutting down around him. He lets her name slip through his mouth, but it’s merely a noiseless whisper.
He watches her step forward, and collapse into Ace’s arms.
He’s never truly felt like a failure until this very moment, he’s never wanted to lay down and give up, he’s never wanted to think about giving up.
He’s never thought about living without his baby sister.
For a while, he was the youngest sibling in their ragtag little honorary family. And then when they found her...Luffy had never been excited...he was going to be the big brother...he could tease her, and train with her and protect her like he had been as the youngest
But he had done nothing...couldn’t do anything now.
He let out a scream, a scream that came from within him, making his own blood curdle. He saw the light leave her eyes, and the last thing he heard was her saying “I love you...”
Luffy although upright, was unconscious seconds after.
When he awoke, he was a mess.
He fought everyone aboard the Heart Pirates sub, taking off into the woods of whatever island they had landed upon.
He called his sisters name, willed her to come out so perhaps it would all be a dream after all.
When Ace finds him, he asks if he knows where their little sister is. Perhaps she’s playing hide and seek?
But when he sees Ace’s tears, he knows. He’s always known honestly. Luffy breaks down again, utterly heartbroken.
Luffy is grateful for Ace remaining by his side because after everything Luffy isn’t sure he would be strong enough to continue without their little sister by his side.
Extra: Sabo
Tumblr media
Sabo didn’t get the same amount of time then the others did with you. But he still remembers the babbling little baby that he would get to hold in his arms when he was just a child. Who he would calm to sleep rocking her in his little arms.
To forget all about her was painful...
But to finally awaken these memories by a picture in a newspaper, was unbearable. They hadn’t named you, you being so young and not having any bounty.
But he could see it in your features, the shape of your nose, the color of your eyes, your hair, once few and short, now longer and full.
You were so young...and you were gone?
Sabo collapses instantly, and when he awakens he’s remembered everything.
He takes any lead, listens to anyone with information, and it eventually leads to your grave, buried beside Whitebeard, Ace’s former Captain. He sets out 4 cups, fills three of them with sake, and the fourth is filled with a sweet juice he recalls you like when you were little so long ago.
He spends the day there, thinking of you before he continues on his way.
He has a new goal in mind...he plans to find Ace and Luffy.
He wants to hear their stories, know all about how you grew up...your favorite things...what he missed when he was gone and had forgotten.
It takes some years, but finally, in Dressrosa he meets with his brothers once more, a tearful reunion that promises a little relief amongst the grief of three brothers.

3, 4, 8 for skylar and hazel!!
Ahhhhh ok, I'll do these in 2 sections just so it's easier to read lol also I'll try not to ramble since it'll already be kinda long 😅
Skylar:
3. Does your s/i have a full backstory yet? Or is it still in the works? If it's done can we see it?:
Skylar's backstory is pretty much done (I'm constantly adding/subtracting/moving things around but the core of it stays the same). Basically she's a bisexual disaster whose girlfriend joined the marines as a way to earn some money for them to leave home (very domestic), but her ship was blown to pieces by a pirate crew and she's presumed dead. Meanwhile, Skylar's parents are pretty archaic in their thinking (they run a huge business empire, both legal and on the black market, and their goal has always been to keep it in the family), they're also violently homophobic (and don't believe people can be into more than one gender, so the fact Skylar was in love with a woman is her "choosing" a side in their minds), and there's the implication of a sorta conversion therapy kinda thing that happens in between her girlfriend leaving and the start of the actual story. The week before the story starts it's decided she's been "good" enough to allow some freedom once again, and one day when a certain yellow submarine pulls into the harbor, Skylar makes the snap decision to run away (she's dealt with emotional and physical abuse for a very large chunk of her life, so even though it's not a well thought out plan and could very likely get her killed, she'd rather try to leave than stay under their thumb). She does end up getting caught (of course) and convinces Law she's just an idiot (no bad intentions towards his crew) and he does agree to let her live, but even after getting to the next island she ends up right back on his sub and they bargain for her to work on the sub in exchange for room and board (she thinks it's because nobody else wants to cook, but part of Law's reasoning is she dropped a comment about the black market and "some guy named Joker" that her parents are always talking about, and while she doesn't know who Joker actually is or anything about it, Law's gears are spinning and he figures he can use her for information somehow in the future)
And then shenanigans 😂😂
4. How did your s/i feel when they first met your f/o(s)? How do they feel about them now?
She was terrified of him 😂😂 Skylar absolutely knew who's ship she was sneaking onto but she chose to do it anyway, and he threatened to remove her limbs the first night they met lol but she does grow to care for him pretty quickly. She's a very emotional person, which helps her read emotions in others a lot easier than most, so she can read him really well (which tbh terrifies him and pisses him off for a long time until he stops being a butt about his own feelings lol)
8. Does your s/i have any kind of powers?
Skylar has a so far unnamed devil fruit, but it's kind of a mixture of a few existing ones (i had already come up with hers before I saw them in canon so I tried to make it work so it wasn't the same lol) technically the ability is the ability to manipulate light particles (inspiration from marvel's Invisible Woman ✌). She mostly uses it to camouflage herself/turn invisible, but she eventually learns a sort of force field technique (like the hardened light bridges in portal 2) and that same technique can be used as a way to "fly" in some cases (but it's very draining so she doesn't use it often when she does learn it). She also ate the fruit totally on accident, thinking it was something else, and is really upset that she can't swim anymore, but can't deny it REALLY comes in handy lol
Hazel:
3:
So when I said self-indulgent I meant it lmao she's Luffy's older sister (blood relative), older by 4 years (so older than Ace and Sabo by 1 year. She's the BIG sister lol). Most of her backstory follows the same as Luffy's, though she definitely caused less trouble. She also can't really remember their parents despite being 4 when he was born (it's not too farfetched, especially if they went to Foosha Village when they were that young), but she can remember snippets of Dragon's face, and a voice she thinks is her mother's if she tries hard enough. The biggest thing is that she can remember the first time she saw her baby brother, and how he seemed to be beaming at her even as a newborn, and her "older sibling" instinct immediately set in (the stronger Luffy gets the less he needs her to "protect" him, but she's always going to, and that extends to the other 2 as well later on). Unfortunately this does turn into a sort of maternal instinct for a while, and she has a kind of maturity complex, but after more adults join the crew and tell her "YOU ARE STILL A LITERAL CHILD GO HAVE FUN" she eventually chills out a little lol
4.
Soooo I haven't actually decided who she'd end up with, if anyone, yet lol the thirsty part of me says Law, but I think she'd fit with Nami or even Zoro well too (and unfortunately I think she'd fit really well with Ace as well but that treads into iffy territory that I'm not sure how to navigate yet)
Either way: with Zoro she spends the whole first day with him on the crew apologizing for Luffy's antics (he no longer cares), she's honestly initially suspicious of Nami (nobody wants to hear it though), but now both girls are fiercely protective of each other, with Law he'd just finished patching her up after Marineford, she shouldn't even be moving around yet, and she pulls a knife on him that he better not try anything funny with Luffy (highkey overprotective since he's now her ONLY brother and on the brink of death), but after Luffy recovers she comes to respect him, and at Punk Hazard she's one of the first to trust him with the alliance (though he does make a few quips about her almost stabbing him, which she shrugs off).
She actually got into quite a few fist fights with Ace when they first met for "being mean to Luffy", but with everything that happens with those kids she comes to love him deeply and is devastated by his death (I kinda feel like if anything were to have happened between them it would've been while they were teenagers, mostly due to hormones but the feelings were still real, but they decided not to pursue it further and he left to become a pirate while she stuck around to wait for Luffy, so by the time they're adults it's no longer romantic love? Idk yet lol I started shipping them on accident and now I have to make it work without it being...yikes lol)
8.:
Hazel doesn't have any devil fruit powers, but she does have a robot leg (lost it in Enies Lobby, Franky hooked her up. Complete with knee-pistol and roller blade), and during the time skip she first learns some basic Fishman Karate from Jinbei before he goes back to Fishman Island, and then she trains with Hancock and the Kuja Pirates (which only happens as a favor to Luffy, and even then ONLY because she's his sister and therefore not a rival lmao)

One Piece: Wano and Reverie
Since the Whole Cake Island is now finished or is going to be finished very soon, there is the looming and long awaited Wano Arc.
This arc is going to be massive and its going to have a lot of content story wise because I believe that Oda is going to be closing up the story soon. I’m not sure how soon, but I do believe its going to be soon. He stated that the story was more than half way a few years ago.
There are many things that are going to have to be solved due to the lead up or the tension throughout the manga. As well as new things in the most recent chapters that was introduced:
This is a big ass post about what I think is going to happen during Wano, Reverie and the arc after. Basically a post on how I believe One Piece will end.
Shanks and Luffy:
The most obvious one, Luffy wants to see Shanks again, and show how much he went through in the 12 years he last saw Shanks. He promised Shanks he will become the King of the Pirates, so it’s very likely that Luffy will meet Shanks at the very end or when he becomes the King of the Pirates, to keep true to Luffy’s promise. There is also the fact of Luffy wanting to defeat Shanks, which will probably the last Yonko Luffy defeats to become the King of the Pirates.
Blackbeard
The asshole. The man who killed Thatch and led Ace to his death. The man who is the villain of the manga, or at least one of the MAIN villains of the manga. We met him in Skypeia and we liked him at first because of what he said to Luffy and the others. We KNEW that Ace was after Blackbeard, we had no idea that Blackbeard was the guy who likes pies. He is the one Luffy will defeat in order to avenge his brother.
Big Mom and Kaido
Big Mom and Kaido seemingly have a connection and have yet to be defeated by Luffy. Luffy wasn’t strong enough or didn’t have enough power to defeat Big Mom. They will eventually be defeated by Luffy because in order for Luffy to be the King of the Pirates, he must defeat ALL of the Emperors.
Marines and their system
The Marines have been a villain and sometimes friendly throughout the story. There has been many corrupt Marines and many Marines we’ve enjoyed having as characters. I think that once the manga is over, the Marines would of re-worked their system so corrupt people wouldn’t be in power and stop using the Seven Warlords system. That their will be a good person in power that takes the interests of the people and not of themselves. I honestly don’t want the Marines to fail because there is no reason to being pirates if they do
The World Government
The World Government is more than corrupt, they have done really shady shit throughout the entire manga and will continue to do shady shit. The Five Elders are doing shady shit as well and know about the Void History. Its possible that the Void History puts the World government in an unsavory position, that being the reason they decided to destroy everyone figuring out the Void History. Honestly, the World Government is going to be completely destroyed or reworked by the end of this manga
Void Century
The Void Century is something that was completely wiped away from records 800 years ago. 100 years of history is completely erased from history. That’s a lot of time. Which makes me believe that the Celestial Dragons are not who they say they are. The creators of the World Government probably didn’t do the best things during the century. Which would make the World Government and Celestial Dragons cover it up because they want to hold power over the people.
the Void Century, World Government and the Celestial Dragons are technically the same thing or at least connected with each other.
Revolutionaries
Last but not least, the Revolutionaries are going to be big in the last few upcoming arcs. We know that they are fighting against the corrupt World Government and Celestial Dragons. Taking territories and liberating people from the World Government’s rule. We are probably going to figure out what made Dragon start the Revolutionary Army, why he wants to liberate the world from the World Government.
I believe Wano is one of the last arcs, if not last arc. I do believe that this will contain, the defeat of the 3 Emperors: Kaido, Big Mom and Blackbeard as well as a confrontation with Shanks, since the build up to Luffy and Shanks meeting has started since the very beginning. They haven’t physically seen each other for about 12 years now.
The Strawhats and Heart Pirates formed an alliance to defeat Kaido. They got a little off track by defeating Doflammingo, saving Dressrosa and saving Sanji from Big Mom. Which they completed all three tasks, as well as succesfully destroying the SMILES factory Doffy had.
Now Law and the rest of the Strawhats are waiting at Wano or going towards Wano to face the biggest threat. While Luffy and the others head over to Wano.
NOW ABOUT REVERIE
Now we are going towards the Reverie Arc, which will probably not involve ANY of the Strawhats and Heart Pirates due to the fact they are probably nowhere near where this is happening. SO we will have our first arc without the main characters. Its what I believe anyways.
The players of Reverie:
The Royals: Vivi, Rebecca, Shirahoshi, etc.
Marines: Garp, Akainu, Coby, Helmeppo, Issho, etc.
Five Elders
Celestial Dragons (unfortunately)
Jewelry Bonnie and her crew
Revolutionary Army: Sabo, Dragon, etc.
I doubt that the Strawhats and the Heart Pirates will be involved with this arc due to them dealing with Big Mom and Kaido. I’m going to assume that Reverie will happen at the same time Wano is going to happen, but we will see the Reverie arc and then the Wano arc, just to build up tension for the Strawhats and the end of the manga.
The revolutionary army is going to plan their attack on the World Government and Celestial Dragons during this time in order to cause maximum chaos among both groups and have everyone in the same spot at the same time.
But there is going to be a great part of it being the Royals meeting, or at least one chapter before mass chaos breaks loose when the revolutionaries attack.
It’s likely we will get the POV of VIvi or Rebecca during the actual meeting parts, then get the POV of Coby and Sabo during the attack of revolutionaries. Which would be really cool and very interesting, seeing what the Marines and Revolutionaries really are and how it feels like to be in the shoes of those we don’t know much about. So hopefully Oda does that.
The Revolutionaries will most likely cause mass panic for the people in One Piece, probably getting themselves and the Marines in a mess they can’t back out of. Most likely a war between the two and the World Government watching from above.
NOW ABOUT WANO
Then we will switch back to the Strawhats and Law. Before everything happened, since Wano and Reverie will most likely happen side by side (like I said before). We will see the planning and defeat of Kaido and most likely rescuing Kid and Wano from Kaido’s rule. But ultimately, it’s going to be a long and hard fight for everyone involved.
There will also be a part about Kaido and Big Mom’s relationship and what crew they were on together. Why they owe each other anything and what the nature of their relationship was.
Eustass Captain Kid, Scratchmen Apoo and Basil Hawkins will play a part in the Wano arc as well since they were the last people since to be defeated by Kaido. Eustass, defeated and beaten in jail. Scratchmen, a captain under Kaido’s command and we have no idea what happened to Basil Hawkins.
We will also find out more about Wano as a country and will most likely get allies in Wano that will help out with the fight.
Ultimately, I do believe that Luffy will defeat Kaido. I also think that he will also face Big Mom because he was forced to. Since Kaido and Big Mom had an argument about who was going to kill Luffy, I think she will go over to Wano and try to deal with either Luffy or Kaido. Probably once Kaido is gone, Big Mom will face off against Luffy against his will because she is forcing him to.
I also believe the reason Luffy couldn’t defeat Big Mom or the reason Oda decided for Luffy not to defeat Big Mom was because the Strawhats were separated and I would think that in order to defeat Kaido and her, the entire crew would need to work together. (I REALIZE THIS IS A BIG MESS, SORRY)
THEN once that complete mess is over, Luffy and the rest realize what happened during Reverie. Which would make Luffy want to go over and fix what was happening over there, since Sabo and his other friends are over there. As well as Shanks, Blackbeard and the royals (Vivi, Shirahoshi, Rebecca, etc.).
He will ultimately face off against Blackbeard before Shanks, I think that defeating Shanks would be a good way for Luffy to provide his strength and become the King of the Pirates (Pirate King).
Before that, I think the big fight between the Revolutionary army and the Marines will have to stop before the fight with the other two Emperors. It would be a big war, probably just as big as the War of the Best was.
Then as the arc continues on and the world is thrown into more chaos, the war will end most likely with the World Government crumbling, the Marines not doing too well (due to corrupt leadership and the Warlords) and the Revolutionary army most likely either successful or completely obliterated. With the Void Century revealed to the world, most likely discrediting the Celestial Dragons and World Government. Which will eventually lead to someone creating a better government system to lead the world (theres a chance the revolutionaries will do that.) As well as the Marines re-working their system, kicking corrupt Marines out, as well as getting rid of the Warlord system. All those looking towards a better world and hold important values for the Marines, those like Smoker and Coby and Garp would be creating a better system for the Marines, a less corrupt one.
During all of this, Luffy and the Strawhats will face off against Blackbeard, finally getting revenge for Ace. Then meeting Shanks and his crew for the final battle of the manga and ultimately is what will make Luffy the Pirate King.
There is a lot more to the World Government then we know. Even during the Reverie arc, we’ve learned so much within this arc alone. So I don’t think I will be able to theorize with the big strawhat (or normal size for all we know) as well as the figure the Five Elders were talking to. I’m not even sure what to make sure of with that information. So some shit will not be included in this until we know more. So this may seem like a very holey theory. But whatever.
I’m trying to take everything we know into consideration for the next few arcs. For all we know, this could lead to 5 more arcs or 10 more arcs. I can never be sure. But to me, it seems like this is ending soon, in arc terms. But I believe these arcs will take years to finish. Around 5 for Wano and Reverie and then the final arc will take 3 to 4 years. So we’ll see. :)
Ultimately, this was a product of me avoiding registering for SAT and doing my College Apps. Hopefully y’all enjoy this, or at least enjoy reading this.

"send me a ship" asks -- marsab for the knight/princess one 🥐
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Marco makes a nice knight and the wbs make a cool guard (group???????? I’ve forgotten the plural for guards being together and the only thing coming to mind is troupe and I’m like no they are not travelling performers). Also like !!! it Confuses me/Concerns me abt like the oNE THOUSAND WHITEBEARD KIDS ALL TECHNICALLY HAVING A TIE TO THE THRONE. How’s Whitebeard supposed to divide this evenly!?!
…..
Unless immortal!whitebeard
yessssssssss okay okay okay so immortal!whitebeard who idk was like an old god or smth??? and he’s still considered a King of the Earth (and probably part of the seas but roger’s an Asshole and Totally wrestled that away from him at one point and Whitebeard was like #FAUX UPSET DRAMATIC GASP) And like, Whitebeard’s kids totally technically count as princes and princesses and other royal lines and stuff, they basically all just laughed and were like sure whatever and they’re pretty lax abt this monarchy thing. Oh oh oh oh but like!! Different divisions protect different parts of Whitebeard’s huge as fuck kingdom and so division commanders are considered princes/princesses and are allowed to make decisions in Whitebeard’s stead as long as they all have a meeting abt it before hand and talk it over (unless they’re sent on diplomacy missions WHICH MARCO IS)
So Marco goes off and does some diplomacy and things are Going Okay (not great, but like, decent) until they realise that to the Whitebeard fam the title of ‘prince’ and ‘princess’ basically just mean that they control part of the army but they don’t like?? Rule. They’re all very very content not to rule, even though they settle disputes and stuff, bc like?? ruling is hard. Whitebeard has to put up with sooooo much shit. BUT BASICALLY THEY’RE LIKE “WE ALSO HAVE PEOPLE WHO RULE ARMIES. WE CALL THEM COMMONERS, AND THEY LIVE TO FIGHT FOR US OR DIE” and Marco’s like Wow Okay haha we’re totally going to go to war against you and depose you. BUT BEFORE HE CAN DO THAT THEY TOTALLY HOLD HIM CAPTIVE.
bc you know what’s a story w/o a little captivity/kidnapping.
Anyway Marco had a couple people assigned to him and depending on where you wanted this story to go (and how angry you wanted marco to be) like. a) they could be captured too or b) murder is an option. And the King and Queen say that they bid marco farewell/say that marco went travelling but then Oh No they were attacked on the path what a tragedy!!! Marco’s been kidnapped/some enemy of your kingdom killed him!! We are in mourning too, for some of our people were killed, it’s all very upsetting, let’s make an alliance, Whitebeard, and hunt down “””your””” enemies.
And Marco’s like….oh man just…poor marco. His heart’s breaking because those were his brothers, those were his people, it’s his job to stand at the front line and it’s his duty to protect them and he- he let them get killed…He led them into a death trap because he was to arrogant and rude and couldn’t hold his tongue and thought that they’d do nothing about him basically declaring war on them what type of fucking fool is he????
And so say Sabo’s a knight in this kingdom and he’s pretty unhappy bc he’s been able to travel quite a bit and when he heard marco’s silver tongue cutting his king and queen to pieces he wanted to cheer, even though he knew it disloyal. And he volunteers to guard Marco as much as he can and can’t talk to him at first because everyone’s pretty cautious about word getting out and so sabo volunteers to be a permanent guard bc that lessens the amount of people knowing and who’d spread the secret, right???????? So Sabo is Marco’s personal guard and Marco won’t talk to him at first, he’s angry and upset and more than a little bit afraid, for all that he’s good at hiding it, because what if his brothers come and say the same thing he did?? What if this kingdom sneaks into his own and hurts his family?? What if he can’t escape and warn everyone of their treachery???????? And Sabo is….well he’s nervous too, bc if he talks to this prisoner…Yeah, “treason” would be putting it lightly, and- he’s planning on helping this guy escape.
So he carefully broaches conversations but Marco’s an angry lil asshat and Sabo will always respond in kind to that, if you’re kind he’ll be kind right back (even if not to the same degree, but he still- he wants to believe that people are good??? And if you show him that he’s not going to trust you, persay, but he is going to do his fucking best to be polite and kind and help you and he blocks off parts of himself bc hes never found anyone he can just be around, and be comfortable w/ expect Ace & Luffy, but, still.) So they’re snarky little assholes to each other but ?? For Marco it starts being?? A bit normal?? Sabo isn’t aiming to hurt him, not like every other barb every other prisoner or guard or torturer is trying to, Sabo’s just- annoyed at him, for being a dickhead. And like, Sabo also, for all that his words are sharp and aimed to bruise egos, like, he’s going to make things better, and to do that he needs Marco’s help, and so ofc he’ll still be- you’know, himself when it comes to things that are small and physical and hard to notice. Like, his replacement drops marco’s food on the ground and kicks it in, but Sabo takes the time to  let him grab it so none of it spills and will eat with marco?? Sit on the cold floors and eat, and they don’t necessarily talk, but the companionship is nice. And he subtly leaves little hints towards Marco’s family’s well being around, or drops it in conversations w/ other guards, and marco doesn’t realise he does that until later and just has to go over their interactions and is kinda like….oh.
Once that happens it goes a bit better, because even though Marco’s not a fan of apologising, he sees the necessity of it, and he understands, and he can recognise when he’s being an asshole, and he doesn’t s u p e r want to apologise to someone holding him prisoner so he ?? says thanks for the things sabo does, and tries to be just a bit nicer, and their relationship gets better from there
BUT THEN
BUM BUM BAAAAUUMMMMMMM
Sabo/Marco find out that the kingdom is going to launch a surprise attack on the Whitebeards and they have spies planted within the kingdom to assassinate Whitebeard!!! Because while he is immortal and impervious to a lot of injuries, he’s not impervious, and he only heals normally, not like Marco does (and like, look, you could also throw in marco-the-healer, as well, if you wanted, which is a double blow to the Whitebeard forces, because they’re used to knowing that their King is safe, bc like??? They have the world’s most powerful healer in their midst). So Marco’s freaking out and Sabo’s like Oh Shit that’s so much earlier than I thought and he’s trying to plan how to get Marco out, because he was going to try and sneak in a replacement of some sort from the rebels so that it’d not be discovered for a bit longer, or like, do something to make sure they get a headstart, because a day???? Against everyone in the kingdom looking for them??? No. Noooooo fuckin way. They’re fuckedddd if that happens. And Marco doesn’t know what to do and Sabo’s trying to figure out a plan and is like no, it will work, everything’s going to be fine, you’ll get out of here, I promise and Marco’s like how the fuck could you know that and Sabo’s like because I am going to get you out of here and Marco’s like—
you go. You go, to my family, and- idk maybe he has a momento of some sort, his own signet ring ?? But I guess the King/Queen take the signet ring and be like “oh no look this is Proof that Marco DiedTM) - but anyway he gives sabo that, or a password, or knowledge of a secret passage and is like tell them. Please, tell my family what’s going on. They need to know so they can be ready, and I’d slow you down. With everyone looking for me??? It’d be safer.
“Yeah but you’ll-!! They’re going to know I’m missing, and what about all those times they didn’t feed you but I snuck in food, like?? How are you going to be okay??”
“I’ll be okay if I know my family is safe.”
And Sabo’s like— ow….bc Marco’s tone is so!!! It’s so serious, it’s a promise, a vow, he will be okay as long as his family is okay, Marco’s so fucking loyal to them, and that’s probably when the first inklings of feeling - for him, at least - hit. Because Marco is just- Totally dedicated to them. And would do anything, be anyone they needed him to be, be strong, give up his only confident and companion and safe place in this entire castle just to know that his family would be warned, and Sabo kind of— it hurts him. It hurts him, because he doesn’t want to leave Marco. And because he understands self-sacrifice but he doesn’t want….he doesn’t want that for Marco??? For him to have to carry that burden alone?? But he knows if he doesn’t go, either, marco’s not even going to blame him, he’ll still be blaming himself….
So Sabo goes and like honestly you have two paths here. You could do it so that everything goes relatively decent and sabo finds the WBS and is blocked a bit from talking to the king but whitebeard’s a good guy and listens to everyone’s voices, even those from another kingdom, and what this brat has to say??? He’s preparing for war in moments, and has his own trusted team ready to go and free Marco, and Sabo would ofc volunteer to be on it but then he gets?? Caught, possibly, while the rest are freeing marco, and then you get beat up!sab and frantic escapes from the castle and some nice stuff where Marco takes care of sabo and then kinda feels like he wants to stay by sabo’s side instead of going to the war front to lead his troops and this is the first time he’s felt like that, he’s felt like he wants to stay by someone instead of serve his country, and that’s a bit weird to him, because like, his people have always come first?? And he’s had boyfriends/girlfriends who were super fucking important to him and they’re still good friends, and he’d have gone to war for them at the time, but like….he’d stay home from war because of worry and care, for his brothers, for his father-
and now apparently, for Sabo.
And then you go from there and have idk, they win the war, or maybe long war and sabo comes out and fights by marco’s side and swears to be his vassal (?? I think that’s the term, but w/e) and they get closer and more affectionate (and eYYY bedsharing and nightmares!!!) and then when they come home from a war front after victory, there’s just this accidental/awkward realisation of “uhhhh when did we…start dating??” / “Shit, are we dating??” / “I think so…I mean, if you wanted too!!” / “Uh, sure. Yeah, that’d be Cool.”
Ummm but then path two could be like!!!!!!!!!!! Marco told Sabo of a secret passageway to enter but!!! dun dunnnnnn, the King/Queen figured out that sabo was a revolutionary agent and sent a force to follow him and use the secret passage and storm the castle and take it over and so everything’s messy and complicated and sure as fuck nobody trusts this blond knight who was apparently leading them, and he might yell a bit about marco but who’s??? going to believe him?? They all mourned and suffered and what if it’s another trap?? He could’ve been part of the bandits that kidnapped marco in the first place!!
And like, idk, you could have him being how did i know about the passage, then, how did I know all your names, how did-!!
Shut up!!! someone yells, grabbing him by the collar, stop trying to trick us into believing the brother we lost has been held captive! And Sabo just softly, slowly goes,
“Do you really not believe me, or do you not want to admit that if I’m right it means that he needed to be saved, and none of you came to help him?”
And like, they’re all silent and looking at each other or looking at the ground and just…it’s so tense and still and ?? Maybe Whitebeard stands up and looms over him and is like Tell us why we should believe you, when you got us pushed from our own home?
And Sabo talks about Marco, because how else could he talk about anyone different?? About the fact that Marco’s first and only smile was because he’d been talking about his family, about the fact that the only reason Sabo had come, the only reason Sabo had left him was because Marco had begged him to make sure that the WBS wouldn’t be hurt, about Marco’s guilt because he’d been unable to save his guard, and then- he talks about how much he wants his kingdom to change, about how people are afraid to live there, about-
About the hope he felt when Marco had declared that they’d free the place, the he feels every time Marco had promised him that it’d be better, about everything Marco had talked about - the equality, the trust, the way Whitebeard ran his kingdom….
And he almost talks about just- Marco. About Marco being brave even though he was sad, and scared, he almost talks about Marco’s soft secrets to him, whispered in the moments before Marco’s healing had kicked in, when he’d confessed that he’d never been afraid of death but now it terrified him, because what if he died before he was ready? And what if he died and hadn’t been able to save his family?
What if he kept living, and hadn’t been able to save his family?
He almost says that, but they stay locked behind his teeth because- those words were for him. Were for him, when Marco was afraid, and lonely, or when Sabo felt hopeless and terrified-
And they don’t trust him, fuck no they don’t trust him, but they do believe him. (You could also have like, the person who yells at him?? about tricking them into thinking marco’s alive – you could have that be ace and as soon as he gets close and sees that snap of a response he’s like shit. What the fuck?? Or you could have commoner!Ace in sab’s kingdom who later comes to serve in the army and the 2nd division commander dies on the battlefield and so ace takes control and he keeps trying to give it to someone else but they can’t take it so he just leads them, but, I digress) He’s kept under heavy guards and is never told any of their plans, but he gives them all the information he has and never complains and just- he just wants Marco to be safe. And maybe something’s wrong when Marco gets home, maybe they’d done something to him that hurts him, and Sabo’s burning up with worry because he fucking left, and maybe if he hadn’t he could have done something, and no-one will let him see Marco and god it’s driving him crazy, and he can’t help himself from snapping at people because there’s so much frantic energy buzzing in his bones and he’s worried. He hasn’t been worried like this for years. He doesn’t get close enough to care, or get worried, but he is and for Fuck’s sake it’s driving him insane
But bc of Marco being sick the WBs are like okay so are plan to present weak and then Smash Them in one swoop won’t work bc Marco needs rest and safety and so the WBs take back their castle, bc fuck off this was Whitebeard’s land, and he wasn’t still called the King of the Earth / an Old God for nothing. And the war is long and tiring and messy and Sabo’s running letters between the revolution of his kingdom and Whitebeard and steadily finds himself with more responsibilities and working with Dragon and Whitebeard to an excessive degree and for fuck’s sake he was a knight, he wasn’t prepared for this shit-
But he throws himself into it because he’s not doing to let anyone down, he refuses to be the weak link in the chain that might cause this to fail and….and if the benefit is that he drops into sleep every night exhausted then at least he’s not thinking about Marco, who’s still sick and delirious because they don’t know how to fix him.
Sabo working in the bare fraction of spare time he has, when Dragon’s ordered him to stop and gotten koala to force him to his room/tent so he rests, to find a cure for whatever’s hurting Marco. Being unable to spend time by Marco’s bedside because it’s paralysing, to do it, like, what if they don’t end the war in time to dedicate time to find a cure? What if Marco dies before the war’s over? What if he’s sick forever?? What if when he wakes up again, something’s wrong with him?? He can’t remember things, or he can’t heal, or he’s afraid and jumpy and god damnit Sabo should have been there.
But it’s a war and it’s one they haven’t prepared for, and while the fighting’s on Whitebeard’s land they win because, well, ~god powers~, but it’s not always on Whitebeard’s land, and Whitebeard can’t be everywhere, or help everyone, and everyone knows the Phoenix is sick and what are they supposed to do about that?? Most of them fight harder, angrier, but still, it’s- It’s hard. It’s hard to know one of their commanders is fighting for his life and no-one can do anything to help because of this war.
and ??? Look here’s where my brain gets fuzzy, like, ?? Wars are complicated and messy and I need to fix marco, lol, but I didn’t build any space to do that. So. Maybe Sabo finding something in his books, or finding this- tiny discrepancy in a legend, or in the reports that the King and Queen of his old kingdom were sending. And he’s desperate, and tired, and his brother is here and has his own commandment, and- he wants Marco to get better and the best way to help Marco is end the war. So he goes to Ace and asks for volunteers for a stealth mission, and Ace ofc volunteers and all his soldiers are like haha yeah at this point we’re pretty committed, we’d follow commander Ace into the grave, and so Sabo has this dedicated team of soldiers and he doesn’t know if he should follow the legend or attack the king and queen bc they would know what they did to marco but all of them could die if they attacked w/ like. 30 ppl. But the legend is only a legend and if they waste time, and with sabo being gone- there’s this sudden huge stress on the army, and 30 men is still 30 men that they could use, to buff them up somewhere, to give people a chance to rest-
They go after the legend, because they live in a land of legends and if Sabo can accidentally fall in love with a dumbass bird then surely a magic tree/rock/macguffin could exist ALSO LIKE GOOD TIMES IMAGINE ACE KIND OF HALF TEASING/TALKING TO SABO ABOUT HIS BIG CRUSH ON MARCO AND SABO’S LIKE WHAT NO I DONT AND ACE IS LIKE LOOK MAN WE’RE HIKING UP A MAGIC MOUNTAIN IN ORDER TO FIND A TREE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT EXIST BECAUSE MARCO’S BEEN SICK. You feel SOMETHING about him. And like?? I love outside characters prompting inside introspection so Sabo’s basically like Oh Fuck goddamnit, ace is fucking right. This. Isn’t fair. He’s never right!!! Why is he right about this!!!
IDK??? WAVES HAND MAGICALLY OVER PLOT HOLE/GAP BC THIS HAS TAKEN ME TWO HOURS AND I DON’T ACTUALLY KNOW WHERE IT’S GOING, PROBABLY SHOULDA JUST KILLED THE LKING AND QUEEN EVEN IF IT WAS CLICHE BUT WOW LOOK MARCO’S HEALED AND SABO’S #USELESS BC MARCO JUST SMILED AND HIM AND SAID THANKS FOR GOING TO HIS FAMILY
Also izo, who’s still stubbornly been eyeing off sab, is finally like “okay so maybe you did know him” and marco’s like???????????? did you?? not think that sabo did??? and izo’s like guiltily shifting like uhhhh nahh we took him prisoner?? fir st ,,,bc we thought he was Lying. And marco’s like why??? and sabo’s like it’s not a big deal and marco gets kinda snappy (excuse him, he’s been locked up for a couple of months and then had to deal with ~magical plot bullshit~ and was Sick) and is like yes it is, you were the one who helped me, and you stayed??? here/??? even when they all didn’t trust you??
and ohhh just imagine sabo just kinda mumbling out, “I couldn’t leave you.”
AHHHHAHAHAH FUCK ME UP I KNOW IT’S CLICHE BUT THIS IS THE SHIT I LOVE
Anyway you totally get flustered/confused marco at that and then dragon/whitebeard arrives to check on marco and also to chew out sabo and sabo gets hustled off to get ?? taken care of and do work and shit like that, you’know, and marco has to rest ??? And like marco’s better, leads his division again, the kingdom’s like Oh Shit and end up loosing and there is peace! And happy times! Yay! Instituting new social reforms!! Rebuilding borderlines and changing maps to reflect this sudden kingdom they now own!! Basically what happens is Dragon + Sabo get set up as the king/prince accidentally but they’re like nAH monarchy is for PUNKS and kind of slowly start instituting what Whitebeard has??? Where it’s kinda a democracy?? And if you want to change things you go and talk to the king and the king ofc includes Everyone that this change affects and finds the best way to solve it and dragon sets that up kinnnd of on accident?? He wanted more democracy but fuck, if it works it works, and like?? Is aligned w/ Whitebeard/Whitebeard has assured Dragon that if things start goin down the Shit later on in whitebeard’s immortal life he’ll take over and fix it a N D HEY GUESS WHAT LOOK LET’S JUS T
FUCKING WRAP UP THE PLOT W/ DRAGON BEING LIKE HEY WE SHOULD THINK ABOUT ALLIES AND SABO LIKE (thinking about marco) Arranged Marriages are Helpful and I am single and technically the prince, the land that big mom owns is pretty strong, there’s also shanks’ weird pirate fleet kingdom if we wanted sea control and dragon’s like you sure?? and sabo’s like yeah it’s fuckin fine and then Marco (whom Sabo has been meeting with frequently, mainly to talk about politics and stuff and how to be a prince bc jfc this is not where sabo was expecting his life to go what the f u c k, but also to just- talk to, because they kind of becoming weird dependent friends and hahaha sabo has a Big Fucking Crush on Marco so more time w/ him is…good) tells Sabo that Whitebeard’s arranged a marriage for him and Sabo’s like- he just pauses and ow, ow ow ow ow, like, he figured it’’d hurt when he got married, but like?? That had nothing on this, and he’s basically like… “…what? To- who??”
And Marco kind of half-moves and fidgets a bit and then leans his elbow on the table and is reeealllly close and he’s like “You” and Sabo’s like-
Does Not Compute
“Uh….What”
“I MEAN IT’S NOT LIKE, ARRANGED, ARRANGED,” Marco goes frantically, because he’s just realised that maybe Sabo wouldn’t want to marry him and jfc he probably should have started with dates but dragon had come to whitebeard and suggested it and said Sabo was fine with getting married but jfc he was probably expecting someone else, maybe someone he’d never met before, and like, Marco doesn’t want to!! Force Sabo to marry him!!, “It’s like if you wanted to. It could. Be. Arranged. I want to. NOT THAT THAT HAS ANY BEARING ON WHAT YOU SHOULD DO.”
And Sabo just is staring at him and then he just?? Jfc this is the most hilarious confession he’s ever seen, and so he starts snorting and covers his hand w/ his mouth and starts l a u g h i n g his head off and Marco just groans and is like “I practiced this”. “I practiced this, and you were supposed to swoon into my arms, or something, and this was supposed to be romantic and cool, god fucking damn it when will I learn not to take Izo’s and Vista’s advice I swear to god they read too many cheesy romance books”
“Yes.” Sabo goes, before Marco can rant himself into oblivion, “Also don’t even try and deny that you’re the one who reads cheesy romance books, I’ve seen your bookshelf.”
And Marco’s like?? “What?? That’s a cruel and horrible lie, I have no idea what you’re talking about” and just teasing him but also he’s a bit confused and hopeful and he just, “What do you mean by…yes?”
“If you wanted to, because I want to,” Sabo goes slowly, carefully piecing bits and pieces of his thoughts together. “Then I would…I would definitely like to arrange our marriage.”
And then he grins and ahhh Marco’s heart just- yep. He did a good. This is Definitely a good plan.
ofc it takes a little longer than that to organise it, and they go on dates first, and just meander along being fiances for a reeeally long time, until Dragon’s pretty old and doesn’t want to rule anymore, so they hold the ceremony and Sabo’s king and marco’s technically king too?? And all his siblings tease him abt it bc “maarcooo you can’t be king too, dad’s king!!”
“Yes but I’m a prince here and a king in sabo’s kingdom”
“That sounds really weird when you put it like that birdbrain. Can’t you just be king everywhere???”
“I can’t be king around whitebeard that feels weird.”
“Yeah but I’m a king around Whitebeard.”
“Yes but you were never a prince.”
“Y ES I WAS, technically for me it should feel weirder!!! I started out as a knight!!! A commoner!!”
“You were still the ruler of my heart,” [dumb stupid wink and sabo laughing bc marco’s being an Idiot]
“IZ O O MARCO AND SABO ARE BEING GROSSS AGAINNNN”

An Interesting Proposal
Fanfiction: An interesting Proposal Story Summary: If anybody told Smoker that he would have a casual conversation with his boss at a pirate's wedding, he would have thought them beyond insane. Characters: Smoker, Luffy, Law, Tashigi, Sengoku, Garp Pairing: LawLu Rating: T Warnings: Swearing, alcohol use, A/N: I had this written awhile ago, but I finally typed it up and edited it xD
Read on Ao3
There was something unusual as of late. And by unusual, Smoker really did mean unusual.
Mugiwara no Luffy was missing.
There was no sign of him. It had been weeks since anybody had heard from this rambunctious supernova. (And how he hated that term. It was as if they were trying to praise him. A pirate!) And, knowing Mugiwara no Luffy, there was just no way somebody like him could go without hearing about the idiotic or crazy things he was up to.
And to make matters worse, there had been sightings of his ship, but the rambunctious captain was nowhere in sight. And even the Polar Tang that typically followed the Strawhats’ ship was gone. And to make things even more confusing, Nico Robin – the devil child – was also gone. (While it wasn’t too difficult for that woman to disappear from sight, it was the timing that was unusual.)
There were rumours of course. Ones of Nico Robin and Monkey D. Luffy eloping off somewhere. About how there was a fight and the Strawhats and Hearts pirate alliance was over. Or even the craziest of things involving Robin and the Hearts pirates. Typically either a kidnapping or another mention of eloping.
Smoker, however, knew better.
No, there were no eloping or potential kidnappings, and he doubted that there were any disputes of any kind.
For he had caught the captains far too many times making out in some elusive place. (Typically forests. Why forests, he didn’t fucking know. He wasn’t being paid to figure out why pirates made out in forests, just to capture them, and evidently while making out in said forests.)
If anything, it was Mugiwara and Trafalgar that were probably off eloping, in his opinion anyway.
Although that begged the question: just where was Nico Robin? For some reason, Smoker knew if he found Mugiwara no Luffy he’d find her.
Mugiwara no Luffy wasn’t the type of person to abandon his crew or friends after all.
.xxx.
When Smoker had a lead that there were two men who resembled the two captains, he followed it.
Of course their ship – the Thousand Sunny – was nowhere in sight, but after weeks of sheer nothingness… Well Smoker couldn’t just turn it down.
(And besides, Mugiwara hadn’t been spotted on his ship anyway so it wasn’t a sure dissuading sign anyway.)
After wandering the villages, he finally did find the couple. (Oddly enough, not in a forest – and yes, he checked there first.) No, they were in a tailor’s shop. Apparently Trafalgar Law was being measured for something.
The tailor was just putting away the tape when he stormed into the shop, jutte at the ready.
“Ah! Torao!” Mugiwara piped up when he saw him, pointing at him. “We gotta go! Smokey’s here!”
…How he hated that god damned nickname.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Trafalgar had grabbed Mugiwara by the collar. (Don’t fucking start making out god damn it!) “Room.”
He was not going to let Trafalgar use his powers to…
“Shambles.”
His jutte ended up attacking a damn rock.
“Mugiwara! Trafalgar!” He hollered out before rushing on outside. He wasn’t going to let these pirates get away!
Oddly enough however, neither pirate seemed interested in fighting him today… No Trafalgar was just using his Room to keep moving them away from him. And considering that both captains were capable with Haki (especially Trafalgar being able to defeat Vergo…) it baffled him. It wasn’t like in Paradise when Mugiwara couldn’t attack him…
“Oh!” It was Mugiwara who piped up again, being dragged from behind by Trafalgar and their linked arms. “Smokey!” His other arm moved, tossing something at him.
It wasn’t laced with Haki so it couldn’t be an attack… and instinctively, he caught it. It was a piece of paper…
“Luffy-ya did you just—” Trafalgar sounded pissed. Irritated. Annoyed.
“Shishishi!” But Mugiwara was just laughing. “Of course, it’s Smokey after all!” Totally ignorant to his… boyfriend’s agitation and turned back to him. “We’re getting married in a week, and you’re invited!”
…They’re getting what?
And did they just—
“Shambles.”
(It was said with great irritation, that Shambles.)
…And they were fucking gone. The Polar Tang. Of course. It was all making so much fucking sense now. They were planning their wedding and they were using the Polar Tang for subterfuge and who better to use than Nico Robin for such things….
Fucking pirates. Mother fucking pirates. And they had the fucking gall too…
He opened the crumpled piece of paper and there it was:
You are invited to the wedding of Trafalgar D. Law and Monkey D. Luffy! Bring food, you’ll need it. Please meet us at…
Really? Really?!
.xxx.
“But sir! You have to go! It’s a wedding invitation! You just can’t refuse!”
Smoker groaned. Of course Tashigi would say that.
When he had returned to the ship he had been furious. He slammed the invite on the table, ranting about how insulting those pirates were by sending him this invite because he couldn’t just go there with ships to capture them. (That was just cowardice and had no honour.) And so they just basically told him that he can’t chase them down for at least a week.
And of course Tashigi…
“…they had thought of you while doing so! I mean we’ve been chasing them this long it only is right that we see this important event in their lives!”
Sometimes he wonders why he even kept her.
“You’re not going to shut up about this until I agree to go.”
It wasn’t a question; he already knew the answer,
“Nope! Now what are you going to wear? We need to find you…”
Smoker let out a large sigh. Just what had he gotten himself tangled up into?
.xxx.
The damned suit Tashigi had stuff him into was uncomfortable and stuffy and no matter what he said about this being a pirate’s wedding, she insisted that they dress appropriately.
And when they walked in, well he momentarily had forgotten about the suit.
To say he felt unnumbered was putting it lightly.
This was probably the most wanted area in history. Trafalgar Law and his crew. The Strawhats. If that wasn’t enough, the fucking Red Hair pirates were here too. Oh and the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates were here to see Ace’s little brother get married.
…How many fucking people did these guys know?
There also was a huge list of pirates that had escaped Dressrosa the same time of Doflamingo’s fall. A few of the warlords…
…And was that the fucking Princess of Alabasta in disguise over there?
(Never mind the revolutionary army for a moment.)
Tashigi went to put the food on one of the many tables when Smoker nearly had a heart attack as he continued to inspect the area.
Garp was to be expected but Sengoku? What the hell was Sengoku doing here?
“Now behave sir, like you promised.”
(Even if he brought the entire fucking Navy here, he wasn’t too certain they’d win. No wonder why Luffy was so confident in giving him the invite.)
(Not that he’d even consider ratting them out anyway, and Mugiwara would have known that too.)
“…I don’t know what I was expecting…”
“Smokey!!!”
Mugiwara had just… catapulted himself over in his direction, and Trafalgar had appeared next to him, sighing.
“I told you he’d come Torao!”
“I hope you realise this changes nothing.” Smoker spoke with annoyance. Why was he even here? He had better things to do with his time than to spend it at a pirate’s wedding…
“Shishishi I know! Thanks for coming!” And then the couple went off in some other direction.
Smoker sighed before he sat down next to the only other Marines in the area.
“Smoker? What brings you here?”
That was Sengoku. “No fucking idea. This brat decided it was a brilliant idea to invite the Marine who has been on his tail since Logue Town. You?”
(Who would’ve ever thought he’d have such a casual conversation with the ex-Fleet Admiral at a pirate’s wedding…)
“Trafalgar Law is my son’s son. I guess. And Garp dragged me here.”
Sengoku had a son? He had no idea. Although it must be some indirect bonds binding them as family.
(He glanced at Sabo.)
Yeah something like that.
Tashigi was talking to Nami. Probably about those children from Punk Hazard.
“So why’s Tashigi here?”
Smoker sat back and unbuttoned his shirt – these were fucking pirates dammit – and lit a few cigars. “She insisted on ensuring I’m ‘on my best behaviour’ as she puts it.”
…Great Garp and Sengoku were laughing at him now.
“How is any of this funny!”
“Nah, nah son.” Garp said through his fits of laughter. “I was just remembering back when I was your age and chasing Roger all over the place.”
He grumbled. How he was ever going to survive the wedding… well it would be a miracle.
.xxx.
Things were crazy as the pirates often made them. Sabo had come over and virtually interrogated him about Luffy before wandering off. Nami had tried to blackmail him with a picture before Garp scolded and threatened her.
Tashigi and Roronoa got into a verbal spat again – she had too much alcohol in her system – and she was the one trying to make sure he was behaving properly? Pah!
Mugiwara would occasionally pop by and ask a few questions before getting distracted by other things.
What really got him though was when Red Hair came over and just… laughed at the prospect of the Marines being at a pirate’s wedding.
It took the grooms, Sabo, and Sengoku to stop the spat between Garp and Red Hair.
That definitely would have ruined the wedding.
When everything was said and done, Smoker took a rather intoxicated Tashigi away from Zoro before getting onto their ship.
The last thing he wanted was to be around a bunch of hung over pirates.
“He shaid he wash gunna…”
“Enough about the damn swords Tashigi. Go drink some water and get to bed.” He groaned. The party was still going on; he could see the bonfires as they sailed away.
“So how was it Smokey?”
He could only groan again. “Chaotic.”
He would give them a week before he started his manhunt again. The couple deserved a honeymoon after all…

Dissentient - 1
Fanfiction: Dissentient Story Summary: Trafalgar Law wasn’t a lot of things. But the one thing he most definitely was, was a man in denial. But you’d never hear him say that. Instead, he’d just blame that damned Strawhat. Characters: Zoro, Luffy, Law Pairing: Eventual LawLu Rating: T Warnings: Swearing, Angst, Mentions of Suicide, Grief/Mourning, Mentions of Character Death A/N: YOU NEED TO READ THIS STORY FIRST.
You know those weeks where I was occasionally late in posting up chapters? Well including working all the time and being with family, I had been secretly working on THIS. Yes. Sometimes I even HAD to wait until I wrote a specific portion here in order to write the next one. I had been alluding to these portions multiple times throughout the story :3 I hope you enjoy!
Read on Ao3
Previous story || Part 1: 3.5 Comfort || Part 2
A door opened and closed.
Did the cook forget something?
Law looked towards the men’s quarters, expecting to see that shock of blond, but, much to his surprise, it wasn’t blond, but black hair that he found.
Luffy?
It definitely wasn’t time for the other captain to go on watch, and so Law wondered just why he had stepped out. It didn’t take him long to figure it out however. All it took was one look. One look into those dark eyes to understand. He saw that look before.
(He looked that way before…)
It was the same look. From two years ago. On his submarine. When the strawhat was on the verge of consciousness, or when he needed more sedative. It was that same look when he almost destroyed his ship. When he emerged onto the island of women. When he screamed.
When he demanded where Ace was.
Granted, the intensity wasn’t the same. It wasn’t like it had been on day one or two. It was subdued. But it was still there.
Two years may have lessened the pain, but it most definitely didn’t mute it.
It wouldn’t surprise him if Luffy had suppressed the emotions while he trained with the Dark King. That he concentrated on becoming stronger because it was the only thing he could do.
(Law was all too familiar with that sensation. What was he about to finally do after all?)
Luffy had wandered off to the spot he always sat at (when he wasn’t pestering the other captain): atop the lion. Law let his gaze wander back to the door and expected Zoro to emerge. But, nothing.
Why?
The door remained shut, and it honestly baffled him. Taking Zoro’s… protectiveness into consideration, he would have made a bet that the man would come out and… well, do something. Even if it was standing by his captain’s side silently.
Law glanced back towards the figurehead, seeing the usually rambunctious and loud captain quietly – sullenly almost – looking out to sea.
He looked haunted.
(Law understood that all too well, too.)
(There was a reason he took longer watches. A reason why he always cut the others’ short. It wasn’t as if he was doing anything else anyway, so he might as well take advantage of that.)
Something told him that, while this wasn’t a frequent occurrence for Luffy, it was at least common enough. This wasn’t the first time this happened.
And it probably wouldn’t be the last.
(Maybe that was why the swordsman didn’t show up. Because this happened before?)
Certainly, this was the first time this had happened when he was aboard the Sunny, but… Law just… he knew.
Seeing Luffy quiet, it was mesmerising in some twisted, convoluted way. It made him wonder. It made him think. And so he just stared, for some time.
(He wasn’t wholly distracted however. He did have a job to do after all.)
Eventually he wondered if he should approach the other. If he was even welcome to, considering Luffy didn’t seem to want to talk to his crewmates about this.
(Maybe, just maybe because he wasn’t a Strawhat he would be welcome. Because they both were captains. Because Luffy wasn’t obligated to him. That Luffy, at the base of it, didn’t want to appear weak in front of those he was supposed to protect.)
Law had to quickly stomp that thought out before it lit something.
He knew that he had been harsh on Luffy lately, and even if it weren’t for Zoro’s prodding and interference, he would have ended up at this point anyway. Zoro just gave him a reason to give in. So, he’d let the swordsman take the credit for the change in his behaviour.
(Because, if he was to be honest, Luffy was getting to him. He was afraid he’d give in, and ignoring the other captain wasn’t working, so he had to push him away instead.)
At least simply saying no was enough. He didn’t know what he’d do if it wasn’t. (The guy was still trying, but at least he could mostly ignore that.) He needed to keep Luffy at a distance. Keep himself at a distance.
Trafalgar Law didn’t have friends. Trafalgar D. Water Law did not make friends. He was a man on a mission and nothing else.
And yet… it was unnerving. To see Luffy so… like this. Quiet. Reserved. Morose. It wasn’t Luffy at all.
(The Luffy he knew was always laughing and smiling and joking around. Making others laugh at his antics…)
If anything, he would prefer to see the other just as he was on Amazon Lilly: screaming, thrashing, destroying things… over… over this.
(Even if that was just as painful to hear.)
Against his better judgement, he felt himself itching to get up. To walk over there and just… what exactly? Stand there and look stupid? Be a silent support, or, god forbid, talk to him?
Trafalgar Law most definitely did not comfort people!
(If would be hypocritical of him to, especially considering…)
And yet, he felt himself rationalising this course of action! ‘He needs to be on his best game in Dressrosa. You need him to be! How can he do that when he’s distracted and distraught over memories of his dead brother?
Damn him. Damn that strawhat. He wasn’t supposed to be thinking like this! That smile was infectious. That laughter contagious. It made him crave it: that positivity – something he hadn’t experienced in so long.
(He could see his smile, hear those words spoken so passionately…)
Dressrosa. Dressrosa. Avenging Cora-san. Fulfilling his wish. That was it.
They were pirates. They were in an alliance. They were using one another. That’s all it could be. That’s all it had to be.
And yet… he needed Luffy to be in the mission completely. He needed Luffy. He needed help. He couldn’t do this alone. (No matter how hard he tried.) This had to succeed! This was his only chance!
(And he couldn’t risk his crew. No, they weren’t strong enough. They were too emotionally invested in him… if something happened to them… No he couldn’t ask them to follow him in this mission…)
…God damn it!
With a heavy sigh, the captain of the Heart Pirates stood up and did something he swore he would never do.
He walked over and just… stood there. Looking stupid.
He didn’t know what to say. He had never done this before.
(No. That was a lie, but that person was somebody he was no longer. That person died along with everybody else. That person was a good person.)
It was quiet. There was no shift of clothes, or change in positions. But, Luffy didn’t need his eyes to know that he was here. And Law didn’t need an indication that Luffy knew he was here.
If Luffy wanted to talk, well, he could keep an ear open for him, he supposed.
He wasn’t about to initiate anything. Hell, he didn’t even really know what he was doing. In fact, he kind of didn’t want to do this but…
He needed to. Law couldn’t afford to lose. Not when his goal was so close.
I need to stop him. I need to stop my brother.
Law glanced up, and looked at the stars. He watched them move, he counted them, tried to remember the constellations that Cora-san had taught him…
That one, yes, that was Cora-san’s favourite. And the one that looked like a cow… what was that one called?
“Torao… does it ever get better?”
The question was so sudden and loud in the silence between them that it jolted him both mentally and physically. And, when he changed his gaze from the sky towards the other captain…
Luffy was shaking his head rapidly, hands outstretched and shaking as well. Was he embarrassed?
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to – I don’t even know – you don’t have to answer – even if you did or didn’t have one – I’m sorry – I just – I blurted…”
Despite himself, Law could feel a tug at the corners of his lips. How? How could Luffy do this? (Only Luffy could do this) To ask just a heavy question and yet make him smile while doing it? To look so utterly foolish and yet sorrowful at the same time?
It only made him want to answer his question even more. He was so honest it hurt to deny him.
…Fucking Strawhat.
“Define better.”
And Luffy was still babbling on and apologising before he realised that Law had said something. “H-Huh?”
Law sighed softly and shook his head momentarily but looked at the other captain. “Mugiwara-ya, I said define better. Don’t make me repeat myself again.”
Why? Why was he doing this? Was it really for Cora-san or…?
Thankfully, Luffy spoke up, even if stuttering a little, to distract him from where that trail of thought was going. “I-I…” There were tears glistening in his eyes, and they looked like they were about to brim over, but he ran his arm across his face to prevent that. “Does it ever stop hurting?”
“No.”
“Do you stop missing them?”
“No.”
“Do you stop wanting them back?”
“No.”
Luffy slumped and held his legs. “So it doesn’t get better?”
Law had to shake his head and sigh once more. Luffy was just so damn simplistic at times… Things weren’t always black and white. That wasn’t how the world worked, and considering Luffy was a pirate, shouldn’t he know that by now?
They all weren’t what the Marines portrayed them as.
“It doesn’t stop, because you don’t stop caring about them, Mugiwara-ya.”
When Luffy looked at him with a perplexed expression on his face, Law could only sigh again. Not even bothering to qualm his urges, he jumped up and sat next to the other captain.
“The pain doesn’t stop.”
His parents. Lami. His entire country. Cora-san. He could still remember the way he felt when they died. When he saw their corpses. The burning buildings… or could hear his own cries.
“You never stop missing them.”
The way he wanted his parents to hold him again. To see Lami smile once more. To hear Cora-san’s laughter…
“A day never goes by where you want to tell them of your accomplishments. Or show them something. Or see something that they’d like.”
He lived. He lived! He found a cure. There was a cure, look! You were right!
“But, that’s the way your body tells you that you still care. That you loved them – that you still love them.”
He wasn’t a monster.
His voice was quiet as he explained this, his mood sombre as he remembered. But, he wasn’t finished here, no. He glanced up again, seeing that smile in his mind. “You don’t miss people if you don’t care about them. But… it gets better. Even it’s a morbid way of saying it. You get used to it. Used to the fact they aren’t there anymore. Used to the fact that you can’t talk to them, or share things with them. Used to the fact that you will never see them again. The pain is something you learn to live with. It’s like an injury. At first it will bleed, but it gets better. Scabs form, even if it aches a little… Some days it will twinge, or hurt more than usual, but… it heals even if it leaves a scar.”
Some scars ran deeper than others though…
“…Did yours heal?”
Law bristled at that. And honestly? He couldn’t truthfully answer that. He couldn’t. Did his truly heal? He still wanted vengeance. On Doflamingo. On the Marines. On the Government. Did he let his ever heal, or did he keep picking at his scabs until they bled again?
“I’m sorry, it wasn’t my place to ask…”
Law sighed.
“It’s just… you remind me a lot of Ace… when we first met. He, he ignored me, pushed me away, but… I pushed on because I was afraid of being alone. It’s the worst thing in the world. And you’re alone.”
Another flinch.
“Tch, you’re reading too much into things Mugiwara-ya.”
He was alone? (He supposed he was, in a sense. He always pushed others away, but that was because…)
“Then where’s your crew? Where’s the bear!”
Another sigh – this boy, honestly! And Bepo again? What was his obsession with his navigator? “Preparing for the next stage. You’ll be seeing them after Dressrosa.” That was the intention anyway…
And, at that, well, Luffy brightened right up. “I’ll get to see the bear! I’ll get to see the bear!” He sung out.
Law felt that tug on his lips again.
There was the sound of the door again, and they both turned towards it to see Luffy’s navigator step out onto the deck.
“Oh, Nami’s out. I suppose that means you’ll be going to bed, right?”
His relief. But Law only shook his head. He wasn’t too sure if he’d be getting back to bed anytime soon. “I can stay out here awhile longer.” And who knew, perhaps Luffy would help distract his mind enough to get some semblance of sleep tonight.
(Honestly, he did miss Bepo. For some reason, he could sleep for hours on him.)
“Yay!”
Thankfully, Luffy stayed away from the heavy topics. Instead the idiot decided to babble on. Something about the constellations and stars and that they were supposedly made of fire and it made him feel closer to Ace when he watched the stars.
And, finally, when Luffy seemed to exhaust himself, Law summoned a Room and got Luffy back into his cot.
The last thing he needed was to be seen with Luffy falling asleep on his shoulder. (Especially with Nami around. She’d probably take a picture and blackmail him or something.)
Trafalgar Law didn’t comfort people after all.
