toik another nap after gettig off work
the dream was smth like first activating some kind of transformation into latias, the other one recieved damage, we fused together into loss fueled missile that needed to blow uo a plane and for some reason there was a plane landing on a residential street but it twisted out of our way and it would've been too slow to turn around. the lossfuek ran out and ????? I was running around the highway with a paper bag with a cartoony black powder bomb in it trying to find where I was supposed to put it to detinatr witvout hurting anykneby. exit 4 under the overpass...there were people around waiting and watching me.
there was a haunted house of some kind. kallego iruma was there, as well as a group of other people. he looked a bit different and he was some kind of warlock. he knew more about thebspirite inhabiting this place than I did and would frequently cast increasingly high level spells to distract them. he cast "warlock cross" and told us to run, and we did, and we got outside (which was looking gloomy and haunted and dead ad well like terraria graveyard) & we saw a giant neon green cross of light burwt through the roof and windows of wherever we'd been and spirits flying ibtothe light like moths to get zapped.
everyone who was gathered then participated in a live reddit poll about which limbus character was the best. the emo and lanky guy from sss gridman was there which is so crazy bc I never watched that show I only read somebody's reviews of it the year it came out. how did he get there???? did kallego turn into him? anyway I cheated in the poll to make don Quixote win over outis but then tried to hide my cheating from my friends who were checkig my data and managed to civer it uo sibce idfaked the stats i was putting in and nir the fibal result .
I woke up in a rainforest, or maybe just forest like area in like a top down rpgmaker zone. I was helping the tree people with something. they were all fairly nice, through I was hesitant to go further into their camp. I knew the types of fusion they'd done and sure enough when walking down with another guy to grab something there were like bodies with no heads, sets of legs fused together, just piles of leftover human meat made into a moving creature that hesrd us and wanted my bits. or thats how I felt you needed to have a special pheromine to deal with them or else they go jnsanw. sonw people were born with thwt special pheromone and were all forced to be the evil scientists thatcreate these eguysm anywsbaftee heloing out I left .
to the left was the blue witch's house. to the right was the tree people (druids ?? florans ?? elves ?? idk) zone. if I went south there were a few 3-4 dudes camping. they seemed aggro so I left them alone & went north, which was a scenic trail around the area that culminated in an overlook on a separate cliff above the dudes camping.
as I was standing there looking over, 2 dudes were chillin and the 3rd one staggered back with blood on him like RHEY KILLED DALE WE HSVE TO GO THROW ROCKS and I checked the minimap - there was a skull dynbol in rhr middle of the path to show a dead body. it looked like he'd antagonized the leaf people, who I had some rapport with. I jumped off the cliff in between the literal army of leaf people and the 2 dudes (bloody guy had collapsed at camp) hoping to mediate, but both sides ignored me & i was like ok this is not a great placw to ve & managed to squeeze out. one of the dudes went down but the other was actually a prolific fighter and was doing quite a number on the people - at least until I saw from my out of the way position in the leaf kingdom doorframe some huge hulking mud trolls (?) come down the road from the north and it was all over for the fourth guy. I had a flashback to abother dream where 2 kids one I red and one in yellow were antagobizung some cat outside the blue witchs house & vandalizing her shit, and realized these two most dead guys were the same kids. no great loss.
I remembered that the tree person queen said she'd found something nice after the recent fight, and i just saw her when goinf to checj our the bkue witcg (the dokr ws crsvked abd there were blue cats un the yard) - thats righr. ningguang genshin peeked out of the open door of the tree people area to survey the carnage. she wasn't looking great she was in pretty bad shape - I guessed after fighting osial and bloeing up her castle, she herself had landed o here in the kwoods.
he blue witch's profile pic looked like an edited photo of some real life person with a flat bangs cut, with a crappy blue filter put iver. she spoke very strangely, and told her cats to drink the blood of the tree elves and get strong, and I realized she wasn't anywhere near as powerful as I'd heard. she was under constant siege by the annoying and those two bratty guys that got killed, so she needed the blood.
I ended up getting her to trust me (the tree people area had been like deserted) and we went over and talked to ningusng and teame to with her. we found a room full of pillsged alcohol from the three people's collection. we stole a few of the most expensive bottkes of alcohol - the best one was a welcome to our conference type thing, butnwitb a specific serial number thwt showed that it was still really good. we made plans to exchsbge their bottle for real money then I woke up

Raihan with a male s/o who owns a Latias and s/o gets him a Latios?
-------------------
There wasn’t really anything gender-specific that I thought of when writing these, so there isn’t any reference to gender here. I typically only make it gender specific when it needs to be/or it’s deeply connected to the type of request. Hope this is ok.
----------
✩Latios and Latias were rather rare Pokemon, but it was MORE rare for humans to actually see or meet them. Due to their shape shifting capabilities and being able to turn invisible at will, they typically are only found by humans when they wish to be found. By sheer dumb luck, or perhaps fate, you met your pair and they became a part of your time.
✩You usually didn’t flaunt the pair; they were both shy (as is the normal nature for these Pokemon). Plus, there’s always some degree of danger in revealing such rare Pokemon to others, unfortunately.
✩But as your relationship with Raihan deepened, you eventually felt comfortable with revealing those Pokemon to him.
☾Needless to say… He was amazed!
☾Though... he finds pretty much any dragon amazing. But these were different. He had heard of Latios and Latias before, but had never seen them in real life.
✩You took the Pokemon out to the wild area to show off some of their moves. Their Dragon Pulses were VERY impressive to Raihan. He didn’t tell you, but you knew he wanted one of his own. You could feel a slight sense of longing coming from him as he ran a hand over Latios’ feathers, or as he watched the dragons dip in and out of the clouds.
☾That being said… You were surprised the blue dragon type was letting him touch them. Your Latios was even shyer than the Latias, when around Raihan, it seemed comfortable…
✩You thought for a while, weeks actually. You knew he wanted a Latios or Latias. However, finding others was difficult, and yours were a lone pair previously when they were wild.
☾But, you noticed that Latios continually followed Raihan around when the two of you were together. In fact, it almost seemed like Latios was more attached to Raihan than you at this point…
☾But this wasn’t totally surprising. Raihan seemed to have some sort of natural talent in attracting dragon Pokemon. In events and gatherings with a lot of dragon Pokemon around, it wasn’t uncommon for the baby dragons to follow him around. It’s very cute.
☾So… you discussed it with Latias and Latios…You were thankful they could understand human speech. They agreed that Latios would be happy with Raihan, and so long as you two were dating, Latios would be perfectly happy with the dragon type gym leader!
✩With that settled, you gifted him Latios. He was THRILLED. Beyond excited. Just jumped straight onto Latios’s back and zoomed away.
☾….And Latios promptly turned invisible.
☾…….Making Raihan look like he was flying on his own, just sitting on air, zipping through the sky.
☾Needless to say, this was trending for a couple of days. He went right over Hammerlocke, meaning PLENTY of people saw him.
☾You weren’t too happy about it, because it required an explanation. And… well… HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT?! Meanwhile, online sleuths were trying to connect all of the possibilities. Despite heated arguments and people saying they DEFINITELY figured it out, none of them were right.
☾In the end, Raihan just snapped a selfie with Latios, ending the mystery. This ALSO worried you, because… you know. There are plenty of people who would do anything to grab a Pokemon like that.
✩Luckily, Raihan proved himself (even more) formidable with the new dragon at his side. In time, you were confident their bond would protect them, and your worries eased.
✩Once the secret was out, you two were known to race Latios and Latias across the skies of Galar. It was usually a 50/50 chance for who won. Either way, you’d both end the evening on top of the Hammerlocke Stadium, overlooking the city as you unwound and enjoyed some quiet peace together.

@niveusveritas
Mist dampens his long hair and pale skin as the thick mass of clouds covering the gray skies create an unrelenting fog all around him. The brim of his hat feels heavy with the moisture clinging to it, and the stray strands of verdant locks cling awkwardly to his clammy cheeks as he peers fruitlessly through the seemingly solid wall of haze. The air is heavy. Every time he inhales it settles like a rock in his lungs, and he can taste the bitterness of sea salt when the wind rushes down his throat. His clothes stick to his lean frame, and all running the sleeve of his shirt across his eyes in an attempt to clear up his vision does is make his face wetter. And squeezing his eyelids shut doesn’t offer much relief either. The unfavorable weather serves to make everything around him appear blurry, and it’s nearly impossible for him to tell east from west and north from south despite the knowledge he has at his disposal. He can feel the drum of his heart picking up in speed and volume with every silent beat of Zekrom’s leathery wings against the clouds from an array of emotions he doesn’t quite have a name to describe, but knows, without a doubt, fear isn’t one of them. And his expression is calm despite the manner in which his brows are scrunched up in worry, and the way his nose wiggles whenever the massive dragon plunges through a willowy cloud, effectively giving him a face-full of chilled water that sends a shiver down his spine. A low grunt always following shortly afterwards that makes his lips curve upwards into a smile at his partner’s somewhat sheepish apology that mixes with the low buzz of the dull blue static that rolls over the Pokemon’s entire body. But he hardly minds. He doesn’t need his eyes to get through this fog anyway.
In the distance, he can hear the high-pitched cries of Latios and Latias calling to them - guiding them. Their pleasant voices ringing out loud and clear to them. And though they’re actively conveying directions to him, they’ve largely come to understand that these skies aren’t intended to allow humans safe travel. Yet, he harbors nothing but trust towards them and Zekrom who carefully follows after them. While his partner is wholly lacking in their grace, their broad body is easily built for poor conditions, and so following after the twin dragons isn’t difficult, even if Zekrom does so with a certain thundering intensity N has grown terribly used to over the years they’ve been traveling companions. Though he does lean down to whisper to the dragon to, perhaps, quiet the crackle of their wings as they soar through the air so they don’t frighten their current guides or any of the Pokemon on the islands he’s perfectly aware are nestled beneath these clouds, even if he can’t see them. But the warmth he feels drifting upwards towards them implies they’re flying rather close to the water - low and far from view of anything but the two dragons soaring in and out of his meager range of vision. Their voices slowly going quieter - softer. They’re afraid. Or rather, they don’t want to cause a fuss. And their reasoning threatens to make his heart sink into the very pit of his stomach. They had both warned him of Reshiram’s condition before he had managed to convince the pair to lead him to the dragon of truth and, by extension, their trainer. But the closer they drew, the more it truly settled in, and the more desperate, concerned, and nearly ill he felt.
He inhales sharply, nearly choking on the fishy and tangy smell of the sea in the process, in an attempt to calm himself when he can feel the static flowing through Zekrom’s body grow a bit more agitated in response to his heightening emotions, but it’s next to impossible to bury them. Not when his heart is doing jumping jacks between his gut and his throat, and the fog is slowly beginning to lift around them as Latios and Latias bid them farewell for the time being - their voices quickly fading in the background. “Thank you,” he whispers softly against the wind as his fingers slowly stroke Zekrom’s neck. His pale lips pursing as the clouds begin to part, and the sea beneath them is replaced by lush, dewy grass and vibrant flowers that only briefly catch his eyes before the cries of the wild Pokemon still able to thrive in such a remote location steal his attention, and he offers them a sheepish smile and a series of apologies for startling them. Zekrom’s little growls of their own apologies, admittedly, don’t help too much, but he supposes they’re not fleeing or regarding them as a threat - instead, they’re simply tucking out of the less than graceful dragon’s way as they right themself - massive claws sinking into the moist ground as Zekrom makes landfall with a soft ‘plop’.
Tumblr media
With quite a bit more grace, N dismounts from the dragon’s back, and removes his hat, tucking it into his back pocket before trying to wipe his eyes once again - this time with significantly more success now that the warm air has helped dry him ever so slightly. “Are you—” Before he’s even able to finish that sentence, Zekrom’s entire demeanor has changed. Their tail flashes a bright blue, and they’re off - stomping through the grass and hurdling themselves into the mouth of a cave covered in moss. “Ah, Zekrom, please be—” Gentle, but the last word never escapes his throat when it finally dawns on him that Zekrom isn’t chasing after the wild Pokemon to befriend, but has singled out exactly what - rather who - they had come here to find in the first place. If his heart had been a personal roller-coaster before now, it had gained at least three drops and five loops in the few second it takes for that realization to click. And he swallows hard around the lump that forms in his dry throat as his lips quiver between a frown and a smile. A mixture of joy, excitement, heartache, worry, and dread all threatening to drown him at once. He’s lost track of the years since he had last seen the other; lost track of the countless almost’s and so close’s he had to finding Touya over all of them. Guilt lingers for not being able to find him sooner - Latios and Latias had made Reshiram’s condition unsettlingly clear to him, and it made worry for Touya’s sake. Was he well? Was he just as worse for ware as the dragon? A part of him is afraid to move - to find out, but how badly he’s longed to see the other again; to speak with him, and to hear his voice.
His heart lurches when he hears Zekrom call to him - wandering why he’s simply standing there - eyes wide, and heart on his tongue. He doesn’t know either. He shakes his head, and quickly combs long fingers through his hair in a pitiful attempt to make it vaguely presentable before racing after the dragon. Small pants heaving past his lips by the time he makes it to the dragon’s side, and another surge of awkward emotions strikes him hard enough that his heart swells, and he grips the fabric that covers his chest tightly in a loose fist. His knuckles as white as his shirt. “I’ve finally found you...Touya.”

Miraculous Pokémon idea.
So a fic idea I have no plans on doing, I don’t really expect anyone to read this but if you do tell me!
In this world Pokémon are mysterious beings that sometimes appear near people in Pokeballs for no discernable reason, Pokémon do not appear outside of being partnered with a human. No human can have more then 6 Pokémon, but it’s rare to get to this point as many people do not even have 1.
The Pokémon represent there partner in some way and you can only have 1 type per person. So a hotheaded person will get only Fire types, while a crafty person will get Dark types. In addition how the Pokémon act also represents them as well, if the Pokémon is cruel then the person is as well.
In addition to normal Pokémon though there are 3 special types of Pokémon. Legendaries, who are absurdly strong, Mega’s who have a stone on there bodies when they appear which if the trainer is talented can evolve to an even stronger form, and Z-users who have are a rare color and can use powerful Z-moves that take an hour to recharge.
Dynamax and Gigamax are area exclusive to only small parts of the UK and central South America, so they may be mentioned but would never be important.
Paris is currently a place of extreme interest due to an unusually high amount of people having 6 Pokémon, and/or some form of the 3 rarer types of Pokémon.
However Paris is being attacked by Akumatization, in which if a Human Partner feels negative emotions the Pokémon can be instantly and strongly turned into a Shadow Pokémon, Shadow Pokémon have increased aggression, increased power, ignore enemy types resistances, and have a special Z-move called Evilization. To stop an Akumatized Pokémon they must be knocked out in which they will revert to normal, however this reversion causes an explosive backlash called Akumatization Retaliation. The only known people related to this phenomenon are Hawk Moth, a terrorist with unclear goals, and an ally that uses Psychic types.
Marinette has Fairy Pokémon and is special in that she has not just 6 Pokémon, but has a Z-user, a Mega, and a Legendary. The first person since Cynthia over 200 years ago to have this, however because of how special it is she keeps both her Mega and her Legendary secret. Her Pokémon are Clefable, Alcremie, Shiinotic, Z-Ribombee, Mega-Gardevoir, and Xerneas. Xerneas has the unique ability where if it knocks out an Akumatized Pokémon they do not cause an Akumatization Retaliation. Afterwards Mega-Gardevoir uses her Psychic powers to shape Xerneas’ powers to restore life to restore damaged terrain, however the limits to this restoration is unknown and untrustworthy. Because of this she uses both her Mega and Legendary to combat the Akumatizartion.
Adrien has Dark Pokémon, with both a Mega and a Legendary, although he also keeps his Legendary a secret because he fears his Father trying to use it. His Pokémon are Crawdaunt, Mandibuzz, Grimmsnarl, Hydreigon, Mega-Absol, and Yveltal. He helps Xerneas as he views Xerneas and Yveltal as partners, and has a strong interest in meeting Xerneas’ human.
Gabriel is known to only have a very protective and powerful Banette and a calm Mismagius. However he is secretly the criminal Hawk Moth, with 6 powerful Ghost Pokémon all under Akumatization with a secret means to keep them loyal, uniquely despite being Akumatized and still being able to use Evilization his Gengar can still Mega. His Pokémon are Banette, Misamgius, Dusknoir, Decidueye, Chandelure, and Mega-Gengar.
Nathalie was only known to have a Mega-Alakazam but in secret she helped Gabriel’s illegal endeavors with her other 5 Psychic types, Reuniclus, Gallade, Gothitel, Grumpig, and Sigilyth all Akumatized. It is unknown why her Alakazam is not Akumatized like Gabriel’s Gengar.
Alya has Grass Types and a Z-Pokémon. Her Pokémon are Roselia, Bellosome, Shiftry, Tsareena, Eldegoss, and Z-Sceptile. She wants to be a reporter and uses her Grass Pokémon to help her manage time.
Nino has Water Types and a Mega. His Pokémon make a nice Rain team in Pelipper, Politoad,  Quagsire, Kabutops, Ludicolo, and Mega-Swampert. He loves music and often uses Ludicolo’s dance with his music to add to the impact.
Chloe has Bug Types and has the rare 2 Mega Pokémon, she can’t use both at once but between the two she has huge power. Her Pokémon are Volcarona, Pinsir, Galvantula, Vespiquen, Mega-Beedrill, and Mega-Scizor.
Sabrina has Fire Types and a Z-move, however she finds herself unable to use the Z-move for unknown reasons for the first 15 years of her life. Her Pokémon are Rapidash, Salazzle, Centiskorch, Typhlosion, Pyroar, and Z-Arcanine.
Juleka has Poison Types but no special Pokémon. Her Pokémon are Drapion, Toxicroak, Arbok, Crobat, Dragalge, and Toxtricity.
Luka has Dragon Types with a Mega and is well on his way to being a Dragon Master. His Pokémon are Flygon, Haxorus, Noivern, Turtonator, Hakamo-o, and Shelgon with a Mega-Salamence crystal.
Kagami has Steel Types and a Mega. Her Pokemon are 2 Bisharp(one offensive one defensive), an Aegislash, an Aggron, Lucario, and Mega-Metagross.
Lila has 3 Dark Types with no special Pokémon. They are Sableye, Spiritomb, and Zoroark.
Penny has Ice Pokémon with no special Pokémon. Her Pokémon are Ice-Ninetails, Avalugg, Lapras, Frosmos, Froslass, and Abomasnow.
Jagged is THE Dragon Master, with both Legendaries and a Mega. His Dragons are Duraladon, Dragonite, Garchomp, Goodra, Latias, and Mega-Latios
Some plot points
Chloe was incredibly powerful with her 2 Mega’s and her Father’s influence she rarely uses strategy able to brute force just about anything. However despite having 6 Pokémon to Marinette’s 4 and 2 Mega’s with a type advantage she’s never been able to beat the Bluenette, which causes her enormous jealousy. Marinette was simply to smart, to quick to plan, for Chloe’s brute force to win.
Sabrina was extremely self-conscious of her inability to have her Arcanine use it’s Z-move for most of her life. This is why she idolizes Chloe who was able to Mega-Evolve her Pokémon at the extremely young age of 5(Beedrill) and 6(Scizor).
Sabine has a Hitmontop and Tom has a Torkoal, both know all 6 of Marinette’s Pokémon along with her interference in the Akumatized Pokémon. They worry for her but know Marinette may never forgive them if they stop her from helping people.
Nathalie prioritizes Gabriel’s happiness above all else, to the complete exclusion of her own happiness or morality.
Lila wants to be Adrien’s girlfriend, thinking they’d make the perfect Dark Type duo, to which he has no interest in. However she despises Marinette as on her first day her Spiritomb was sneaking around when Marinette’s Alcremy found it and knocked it out in 1 move. She is now afraid of confronting Marinette in any fasion but despises her for that.
Jagged played around all the time, but when he got serious he has only lost 3 times in the last decade.
1)To Penny in a 4-v-4 double battle without his Lati’s, despite leaving behind his best Mons and the type disadvantage he took down 3 of hers and her Avalugg, the last Pokémon standing, collapsed seconds after the victor had been declared.
2)To Marinette, he found out who she was and challenged her to a full 6-v-6 match to determine if she has the strength to fight on. She won however all but her Xerneas had been knocked out and Xerneas could neither move or attack, just stand there panting. After losing ina  full out fight Jagged treated Marinette as an equal and despite the just-over 20 year age difference the two are close friends.
3)To Hawk Moth. He had tracked Hawk Moth down and challenged him to a battle, but Hawk moth used his pride against him to make it a traditional 6-v-6 battle, with his Akumatized Gengar sweeping both Lati’s and Garchomp, before losing to Goodra, however Akumzatization Retaliation dropped Goodra as well. Hawk moth then sent out all 5 of his remaining Mons to Jagged’s 2 despite this and the Realtiation’s he was able to knock out all but the very injured Mismagius and the mostly OK Decidueye. Hawk moth decided he needed to kill Jagged rather then any of his normal Akuma tricks, only to be cut off as a massive flare engulfed his Decidueye and even ate it’s Relatiation, a blue blur knocked out Mismagius and threw her away before her Retaliation hurt anyone, a yellow streak saved Jagged and his Dragons, and a massive wave of poison nearly engulfed Hawk Moth before Sigilyth saved him. Sabrina had used her Fire-Z for the first time to overwhelming results, Chloe’s Mega-Beedrill had saved everyone, Luka’s Shelgon evolved not Salamence to take out the Mismagius, and Juleka’s Toxtricity had tried to drown Hawk Moth in a Sludge Wave. Xerneas and Gardevoir got there soon after but they had finally found there restoriation’s limits, parts of the block was still demolished and Latias was in a coma with no one knowing when, or even if, she’d wake again.
Jagged was grateful and took on the 4 as his apprentices/helpers, although Juleka asked to work with Penny instead which was granted.
Sabrina’s confidence had a major boost along with her battle capabilities.
Chloe reacted badly to this sending Sabrina crying, but regreted it, found her later, and had a good cry herself. The two’s relationship is better then ever, possible romantic.
Kagami is around with a crush on Adrien but she despises his father and refuses to give the man any leverage over her or anymore leverage over Adrien so she refrains from presueing him.
Marinette has a crush on Adrien.
Adrien doesn’t have a crush although he is very interested in Xerneas’ partner because he has a strong belief in destiny.
Nino and Alya are interested in each other but dance around it for a bit because teenagers.
Juleka and Rose are dating steadily since they first found out dating was a thing, much to everyone’s shock that 2 teens seem in a happy long term relationship.
Luka has a crush on Marinette which he is open about, but he doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable so he merely told her and flirts, willing to stop if she asks him to or date her if she shows any interest. She has not asked him to stop.
Kagami supports Luka’s crush, Juleka is bemused as is Penny, Marinette is a blushing mess, Chloe supports it if only to get Marinette away from Adrien, and Rose and Jagged are VERY enthusiastic about the whole thing.

Prompt of the legendaries reactions to ash actual dying without coming back
;-;
—————————
The Gods rage. They rage and rage. Tornadoes and thunderstorms sweep through all Regions.
Except... for one town. Pallet Town is untouched, kinda, the clouds cover the sky but not like Unova where there’s blue lightning and flames of fire spilling out of the pitch black smoke. The perfect weather for a funeral in some opinions, and that the Gods wouldn’t dare touch their Chosens resting place like that.
The only ones there are the Oaks and Ash’s Mom. The rest couldn’t attend because their Gods just couldn’t handle the grief like their supposed to, like they have been the last time. But last time was different. Last time their Chosen and lifted himself up and dusted off his body before racing forward with his Pikachu in front, leading the charge like he always does.
Lugia cries as he pulls the waves high above the sea level. Deaf to the cries of the human people and Pokémon alike below him. His children; Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltress, do the same. Their beams of Ice, shots of electricity, and blowing flames scorch the earth untouched yet by Lugia's grieving waves. Striking everything underneath, but never each other. For they know. They know that their Chosen will never return to help calm their raging soul.
Ho-oh shrieks. Burning down buildings while crying flaming tears. Her cubs underneath reak havoc in their own way. Sucuine freezes forests and lakes to their bottoms and the poor Pokémon cry out in pain.
Raikou actively goes for the towns, hitting the ones that were untouched by his mother's blinding fury. Entei… Entei goes to where he had met the Chosen for the first time and he sits, sits and contemplates about how much Ash has had to give up just so they the Gods could be happy.
Giratina hides. They go back to the distortion world and hides away. Because they don’t want to hurt the humans like their siblings do. They don’t want their Chosen spirit to frown down on them from the heavens above. The other two hide as well, for they do not have the right to hurt what their Chosen has put so much effort into protecting. So they hide in the clouds, waiting for their third and their Father to join.
MewTwo… Mewtwo finds the other Mewtwo, the one Team Galactic and Ghetsis made, and they fly to Pallet Town. Waiting till nightfall where everyone has cried themselves to sleep before glaring down at the gravestone. Both equally enraged that they couldn’t do anything for the boy who risked his life over and over again, all to just see the both of them happy.
The Reggies stay where they are. They feel the passing and the anger, the betrayal, the sadness. And they stay. Because they have a job to do, and no matter how much they want to leave for just… five minutes, they can’t. For they have a job and their Chosen is looking down own them now instead of up at them. And there’s nothing they can do.
Rayquaza destroys several planets. Along with Deoxys. Several galaxies away because the two don’t have any connecting to the living beings on the pile of metal and dirt like they did back on Earth.
Latias cries, she cries and sobs, but never screams. Never rages like she wants to. Because that’s not what their Chosen would have wanted, and even though he didn’t come back like he promised he would, she understood. Because their Chosen could never have a God or a Mythical on his team no matter how much she wished and wished he could.
Kyoger wailed, it bounced off every underwater cavern surrounding Hoenn. Creating massive earthquakes that did not deter their sibling, Goudon, up above. Calling to the mountain and Lava that flows underneath, to come forward and recoat the crust with something new, to make something new.
Zecrom and Reshiram scream at each other, pointing and blasting at their opposition half in a battle of “it's your fault’s!” While Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion guard a weeping Keldeo that was shielded under Kyurem. For the oldest Unovian God knows what it feels like to lose a friend you thought would always be by your side, and that he can keep an eye out to his children and the three other weather gods.
Landorus, Tornadus, and Thunderus don’t do anything. For they never had a connection with the Chosen as much as the other Gods, and that their rage is worth being pressed to something more than a mortal life that has ended.
Kalos witness first hand of Xerneas’s rage. The deer God has never felt so much liquid hot anger slushing through their veins at that moment in time. Their lover, Yvelta, stays hidden in their cave. Far from where Xerneas’s anger will touch, and they will cry. Cry softly until their ever terrifying lover shall return from letting loose their own feelings for once in their life.
Zygarde finds Bonnie, finds Bonnie, Clemont, and the rest. Keeping them safe from Xerneas while also Consoling the little girl and her friends. For he can not lose his control on Kalos, he has to keep in control or Xerneas won’t stop until every last living being is floating in their own pile of cold blood.
Diancie sobs with her subjects, much like Yvelta, uncaring and unseeing the the wreckage going on above. Volcanion wherily sighs and continues to protect the Pokémon under his care until Arceus or another higher God finally steps in to control everyone. Because the Chosen is no longer here to do so himself.
Hoopa… Hoopa flys through its portals. It doesn’t want to be in a universe without the Chosen, because their Chosen is bright, friendly, and warm. But no other Universe has the right Chosen like theirs. Others are to cold and calculating, or to battle weary to hold any more warmth like the last Chosen. So Hoopa continues to search, ignoring the tears tracking down its face.
Celebi took one look, before going to the past. Desperately trying to find just how this had happened, just how the Gods just let their Chosen slip through their grasp so easily. They soon break down in the Past Chosen’s arms when they realized that he’ll never survive, that Celebi can’t help make things right this time.
Tapu Koko screams. His people cowering in their huts and homes as he races around his island. An island that no longer has its dearly beloved Champion and protector. That Tapu Koko has lost another child to the cruel fate that reminds every living being that it still exists, no matter how much Arceus tries to twist and pull it to another direction. Tapu Lele joins her older brother in a battle. Both attacks clash against the sea and their respective islands. A dance of death that will not come to a stand still until one body will lie floating in the water, soaking it with the deep rich color of Godly blood.
Tapu Bulu mournes. He grows a giant tree off to the side of one of Ula'ula beaches. One that the Chosen liked to visit a lot. He grows a tree full of every fruit that can be connected together, and he marks the bark with the Chosen’s name with a crown above it. Tapu Fini goes to her Kahuna, she goes in search of comfort. And is faced with a child that doesn’t know what to do, that is inexperienced in every way possible in dealing with a God. And Tapu Fini is reminder once more that their Chosen is one of a kind and his soul no longer exists on a plane that she can touch.
Solgaleo cries and roars at the altar on Poni Island. For they have lost the person who watched them grow and the person who walked through hell and back with skinned feet on hot blazing fires just so that Solgaleo and Necrozma could live a happy life. Lunala tried to comfort, tries to help Solgaleo with the loss. But they fail as they watch their matching half heave with fur streamed with falling tears. Lunala never felt so useless before.
Mew and Arceus-
“Please!” Ash sobbed. Hunched over on his knees, arms clutching at his shoulders as he rocked back and forth. “Please just let me rest!” The Chosen chokingly begged.
Arceus and Mew were stone faced in front of the Chosen-in front of the child they pushed to face wars and bloodshed.
“I just want to rest.” Ash could barely breathe through his tears and hiccups.
He smells like whiskey and smoke, blood dropped onto the tile-like-clouds from his wrists. Marks all the way up to his elbows and they were deep, matching ones mirrored on his open thighs.
How could the two let this happen? let this happen to their Chosen? How have they not noticed the way Ash begged for a few minutes before the sent him back down to earth? Not notice when Ash would cry and dry heave after every battle when he got back home or to the hotel where he was staying in?
Because they didn’t care, their shared thoughts growled. They should have cared.
Mew flew down. Resting their forehead against Ash, in an apology or as an answer. They don’t know. But Ash slumped against the feeling of Mews warm pink fur as Arceus rumbled above.
“Then we shall let you rest now, your time as the Chosen One is done. Ash Ketchum. Sleep now, for it’s all over.”
Ash sob of relief tore into their shared heart. And the young man-the Child soon began to disappear until Mew was no longer clutching the greasy black hair to its small chest.
The two Gods looked at each other. They had work to do and they needed to do it now, for they no longer have a Chosen and now it’s up to them to calm their children down.
So they set off, Mews gentle touch soothed their children’s anger and fear while Arceus broke rule after galactic rule just so that the humans didn’t suffer more than the holes that Ash Ketchum as physically and mentally left in everything he touched.
And after everything was done. When they forced all their children and grandchildren into sleep, they go to Pallet Town. The two haven’t walked in their human forms in a very long time, for they never found any use until now.
once the two Mewtwo’s leave they go to the grave. Placed under a large oak tree in the middle of an open field full of wildflowers.
Two accompanying graves sit right next to it.
Alfreda “Red” Ketchum-Oak and Green Ketchum-Oak reads the closest one. The other didn’t even have the first name, something must have weathered it off, but the last name of Ketchum is still there.
Arceus is the first one out of the pair to fall to his knees, the soft thumping sound was followed after a loud sob and he bent forward to Arceus could smash his fist into the soft dirt in front of Ash’s grave. It was filled with trinkets, flowers, and lit candles.
Mew followed soon after, much like how she always does when it comes to Arceus or Ash. Her sobs were quieted as she pushed her tear stained face into Arceus’s blazer, weeping just as much as her partner.
“I should have noticed!” Arceus yelled through his sobs. Body racking in shivers as a strong breeze rolled through the Kanto hills. “I should have fucking noticed!”
Mew doesn’t say anything, how could she, Arceus was right. They should have noticed, from how much they boast about being ‘all seeing’ they didn’t see the mountain high shit Ash was dealing with.
If he were here now, Ash would call them the biggest hypocrites in the world. Because he’s always been right.
Arceus and Mew were just like everything else in their world. Their not perfect and they’ll never be, no matter how hard they try.
Ash’s suicide will forever remind them of that.

Let’s learn a little something from the Pokémon!
There’s Persian and Mudsdale, Donphan and Huntail
Sandyghast, Nosepass, Froslass, Lapras!
I love to say the Pokémon but here’s the catch
Saying them all kinda seems Farfetch’d
Let me Axew a question
Wanna help me out?
It’s time to Throh in more names!
Come on give me a shout!
Tumblr media
Those Pokémon are Tentacool!
Tumblr media
And those Pokémon are trash!
Combee my friend, I’ve got more to say!
And if we Diglett-le deeper we can learn today!
So why not get Comfey? Don’t be Krabby or blue
Here are some lessons and I Rotom 4 U!
If you Muk around in class, you’ll be distraught!
Don’t Bidoof-us, just study a lot!
If you’re Slaking in school, you’ll drop out sooner!
And abstinence is key, or you’ll get a Mime Jr.
Swanna grab some candy for a sweet treat?
Amaura-mazing snack is a Pichu can eat!
Bewear of Shiftry strangers who offer you hugs
And don’t stick forks into Eelectrik plugs!
Wear a Shelmet when you Rhydon bikes
Keep a well-stocked Bagon extra-long hikes!
Make sure to stay away from that Ferroseed
And that’s just one name people have for weed!
There’s Pansage and Slowbro, Oddish and Bonsly
Tropius, Seedot, Nuzleaf and Stunky!
And Blissey, Loudred, Dewgong and Goodra
Bounsweet, Bayleaf, Hypno and Munna!
You’ll be Drowzee if you Swellow that Tangrowth smoke!
Also Koffing and Weezing, hey, you might Machoke!
So if someone says “hey, want some dank Lombre?”
Look ‘em Dedenne the eye and say NO WAY!
I tell you Natu do drugs, but if someone’s smoking Treecko, does that make them a bad person?
DEFINITELY NO!
I don’t mean to carr-Yanma point in this verse is that alienating drug users makes things worse
Don’t lock someone up if they take a Hitmonchan
And criminalizing addicts is a really bad plan
BIG PHARMA IS THE ROOT OF OUR COUNTRY’S PROBLEM WITH OPIATE ADDICTION.
Golem.
Gastly, Horsea, Chansea, Burmy
Clefairy, Mankey, Klefki, Goomy
Hoo! Rapping’s hard, let me catch my breath
Might as well check how many we’ve got left
There’s less than 150 left.
Can I really do this?
I used to have this dream
Back when I was a child
I’d make the PokéRap listenable
And everybody called me reckless and wild
But I never gave up
I kept at it every day
And with Pikachu beside me and my ‘dex to guide me
I knew that there’d be a way
To ignore all of the naysayers I’d need a thicker skin than Metapod
Why not leave my comfort zone, jump in the Unown?
Maybe someday everyone will applaud
It’s Absol-utely worth taking a risk
Plusle make a few friends as I try
Seaking how to be strong as I Raichu a song
Though I still don’t know where to put Mr. Mime
But who cares if I couldn’t find a good place to put
Togedmaru, Pyukumuku, Mawile, Sceptile, Sandile, Helioptile, Leafon, Gengar, Malamar, Marshtomp, Chatot, Simipour, Ferrothorn, Toxicroak, Minccino, Cinccino, Azumarill, Tranquill, Excadrill, Marill, Beedrill…
And Togetic, Basculin, Gigalith, Crabominable, Kingdra, Ambipom, Gastrodon, Bastiodon, Hippowdon, Vivillon, Bisharp, Liepard, Dunsparce, Aipom, Slakoth, Ralts and Dustox
I still found a way to put ‘em in there!
No matter the Scizor the scope of the task,
I don’t need a Magikarp-et ride
I’Machamp-ion hero, there’s nothing to Fearow
My true power comes from inside
And that brings us all of the way to the top
I’ve said every name I can say
I’ll let my body confess the names that I can’t express
Yes, it’s time for the dream ballet!
(Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Ho-Oh, Tapu Fini, Latias, Latios, Lugia, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Poipole, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regigigas, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Mew, Mewtwo, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Type: Null, Silvally, Reshiram, Zekrom, Manaphy, Phione, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini, Shaymin, Marshadow, Darkrai, Magearna, Necrozma, Melmetal, Meltan, Diancie, Hoopa, Meloetta, Cresselia, Healtran, Kyurem, Keldeo, Deoxys, Genesect, Volcanion, Zeraora, Arceus)
But there’s one Pokémon, my own holy grail
That I gave Kevin Punt; I hope that bastard’s in jail
‘Cause of all Tangelas, Terry is the apex
And I gave him up for my ‘dex
When you love Terry terribly and then Terry is gone
What’s the point of having every other Pokémon?
There’s a wound in my heart that I can’t get rid of
How can I find joy without my tangly boy?
Why catch them all if you can’t keep the ones that you love?
Terryyyyyy!!!!!!!
Oh Terryyyyyyyyyy!

My ideas if Wales gets referenced in this new britain region which is probably unlikely but we can hope:
* Another sheep pokemon/a mareep regional variant/just mareep being common over here
* llamhigyn y dwr regional variant of gligar! As a kid i always thought gligar was meant to be one of those! Its a mytholigical flying frog with a scorpion tail, and really the only reason i dont think gligar is based on it is because its ground instead of water type. Like its really specifically similar right down to the wings being webs under the arms!
* Welsh Lady pokemon! (The traditional costume kids wear at eisteddfods)
* Maybe instead some sort of legendary based on eisteddfods in general? Theyre a poetry/art festival where the winner gets "the chairing of the bard" aka just imagine ur average school contest except if ur in wales u literally get knighted with a fake sword, crown and The School's Personal Throne. Its very weird in retrospect but it just seemed normal when i was a kid. I won it once and i was so anxious having to go thru the big celebration thing!! Like aaa just let me take my certificate and run! XD So yeah maybe a legendary based on the eisteddfod throne itself? Its called a throne but its more of a fancy wooden chair with patterns carved into it. So some sort of wooden dragon! And the legend would be that only the most talented bards can ride it and it bucks off anyone it thinks isnt purehearted enough. And maybe it could have a lovespoon for a tail cos thats also another wooden welsh thing. (Fancy carved spoons for good luck and/or romantic gifts)
* welsh cake pokemon!! Theyre just a sweetened scone with raisins in it, but i think it could be really cute as a design. Im thinking a rock type that just coincidentally looks like a cake with raisins, and it rolls around sideways like a big goofy crab~
* or if you wanna go for other local foods maybe mix the kelpie with bara bryth? (Seaweed bread paste stuff) So its just a loaf of bread that evolves into a badass horse and it would make no sense to anyone except brits, lol.
* perhaps a legandary based on the bard taliesin? It could be similar to nebby in starting off with a weak baby form but then becoming a badass! Cos his origin story was that he wasnt naturally all super cool so talented at singing that he could make literal magic happen just by sheer creativity. Instead he accidentally drank a magic potion of creativity that a witch made, and his abilities came at the cos of Pissing Her Off Forevermore. So maybe the baby form cpuld be a witch's cauldron? And have a tail made of chains to symbolize how he was enslaved as that witch's assistant and managed to escape with her most valuable prize. And then his ethereal fancy humanoid form could maybe be similar to meloetta's living music thing but more with calligraphy instead? But perhaps still have a similar chain tail to show his origins, except now the links in the chain are all fancy calligraphy Os, lol
* accompanying legendary possibilities: ceridwen (the evil witch from that story) or morfran (her innocent son) Morfran did nothing wrong but is often painted as more of the villain of the story than she is, simply because he was black. Yeah there's racism even back in our mythology, ugh...! I always felt so depressed for morfran cos the story is that ceridwen only made this super magical potion of being the best bard ever cos everyone said her son was the ugliest man on earth and EVEN SHE AGREED so she thought she had to give him some magic powers to stop people from hating him. And instead taliesin steals it and goes off to be the most powerful and respected and also handsome man ever, the end. And seriously the ONLY THING they mention about why this child is ugly is that he was "black like a crow" and also his name means evil crow. And thats just the end of his story forever, being some other dude's origin story and then forgotten into the void :( So like hey a pokemon criticizing that part of the myth wouls be great too! Like maybe have morfran be a counterpart legendary like latias to latios and he just looks equally beautiful with a reversed colourscheme of dark skin and white calligraphy patterns. And maybe the pokedex entry could be like "taliesinmon got its powers thru a magical gift from meloetta" and "morfranmon worked really hard for its powers all on its own and also is very socially anxious and relateable and tumblr user tumblunni's favourote character in all british mythologies despite also representing the worst part of our nation but hey its not this man's fault please rescue him ok" Srsly its not like its common to see taliesin referenced in fiction but morfran is even more forgotten and i think he needs at least one positive fictional depiction to make up for being screwed over in the original myth.
* Another myth with unintended bad messages is the one of Blodeuwedd or Dwedd (friends may recognize that i named my Gourgeist after her!) Her story is that she was an artificial human created out of plants in order to be some guy's sex toy basically. Yet she's the villain of the story cos she refused to marry him and ran off with another guy. Like seriously she was BORN to marry this dude! Even if he's the big mythological prince we're supposed to root for, with modern morality perspectives its kinda impossible to see it that way. At least unlike morfran she actually does do other stuff to establish her as a villain other than just existing, she comes back with her new boyfriend to kill the dude who made her and thus set the course of history awry cos he was A Really Inportant Destiny Prince And All. But seriously dude this is 100% your own fault for being creepy enough to not want to date real women and instead have some messed up preprogrammed woman who'd do whatever you want. "The only reason she wouldnt obey like he wanted must be because the seed of evil was in her heart" yeah no maybe it was the seed of free will u bastard. Anyway they have a funny sequence where prince douche mc douchebag is prophesized to never be killed by etc etc etc so dwedd and her new boyf have to trick him into THE MOST CONTRIVED CIRCUMSTANCE EVER to find a loophole. I think it was something like one foot on a goat and one on a bucket while at the border line between two countries at the crack of dawn? And as fitting a standard boring hero story of course eeeevil dwedd gets thwarted and prince pompous is ressurected and she's punished forever by being turned into an immortal owl for some reason.
* SO YEAH! Plant owl legendary! I just thought this myth in particular would be cool cos a female plant legendary with a disney villain aesthetic instead of the cliche pretty sexy thing everyone would probably expect. Make her bombastic and badass and terrifying!!! The pumpkaboo line is the closest thing so far cos bat pumpkin is KINDA close to daffodil owl. At least in terms of spooky aesthetic, lol
* oh and also her boyfriend was named gronw pebr and honestly he barely does anything in the whole story but he has a really cool name so i felt like mentioning it
* our national flower is the daffodil and our national vegetable is the leek so maybe a farfetch'd variation with a daffodil? Or maybe a saucepan or somethin. It could kinda work with farfetch'd origin, plus one of our most famous nursery rhymes is about saucepans. AR GATH WEDI SCRAPU GROOKEY BACH
* our national animal is actually the dragon not the sheep! So definately give us some good dragon types!! Our flag is a dragon so maybe our legendary could be that? And perhaps reference the whole "red dragon beats the white dragon symbolizing how much england sucks" legend by having it have two forms like minior or darmanitan and the weaker cowardly defensive one is england. Just sayin!!
* i dont think you can really make a pokemon personification of england conquering and literally owning us and us taking so long to even get considered a separate country again and be able to have our native language in schools except it was already so many generations passed of it being forbidden to be spoken that barely anyone still knew it and even nowadays when we have billingual road signs the rate of billingualism is incredibly low and im really jealous of my sister growing up in a school that taught it from a young age cos i was thrown into intermediate level welsh without having the basic lessons and thus nevee managed to learn it at all and felt both stupid and disconnected from my ancestors irretreiveably
* MAYBE A RUGBY POKEMON I DUNNO LOL

This is an up-to-date reference sheet of my entire main and supporting heroic cast of Cosmic Cruiser Ho-Oh. I like to have all my characters in one place for the sake of being able to keep track of them and add/change info if I need to. If you have any interest, each receives a brief character description below! (Starting top left and working downward)
Ethan Emberheart - Entei - Captain of the Ho-Oh, a stoic, strong man whose notion of right and wrong guides him in all decisions. His relationship with Jet is what gives him purpose beyond merely being ship’s captain. He comes from a distinguished military lineage.
Jet Chambers - Latios - Commander of Dragon Squadron and a charismatic individual. Occasionally his confidence borders on arrogance, but there is nothing he cares about more than protecting the lives aboard the Ho-Oh.
Cassius Silver - Absol - Commander of the Advance Squadron and Jet’s arch rival. He is considered by many to be the best mecha pilot aboard the cruiser, but won’t believe it until he can really gauge Jet’s worth for himself.
Grady Macleod - Gogoat - The Ho-Oh’s Commander, second in command behind Cpt. Emberheart. He has been a friend to   Ethan, and his father, since before the Regi war. He is usually tough and thoughtful but still makes time to joke around.
Aria Chambers - Latias - Jet’s younger sister who still lives on Arceon. They grew up in foster care together until they were eighteen and Jet joined the military while Aria eventually became a psychologist. She misses her brother dearly and wishes him well in space.
Felix Cho - Floatzel - The most seasoned member of Dragon Squadron and the longest-serving pilot aboard the Ho-Oh. He is impossible to rattle, easy going perhaps to a fault. Enjoys a drink with Grady once in awhile. When he’s in the cockpit though, he is a force to be reckoned with!
Rotom - Rotom - The Artificial Intelligence core system of the Cosmic Cruiser. It keeps track of all crucial systems, navigation, as well as all computerized integral aspects to the Ho-Oh. Rotom is not so much a personality as a shipwide presence.
Samira Fayad - Swellow - Major under Jet in Dragon Squadron and his most trusted pilot. She has had to fill the role of Squadron Commander more than a few times in Jet’s absence and has proven capable. She is not quick to warm up to people.
Baxter “Buzz” Kowalski - Electabuzz - Another member of Dragon Squadron and Jet’s best buddy. A crass loudmouth much of the time, but his heart’s in the right place. Misses his family back on Arceon terribly, but does his best to remain optimistic. Has strong feelings for Samira.
Zuri Solarin - Azelf - She is the ship’s communications officer, keeping in contact with Arceon, other vessels the Ho-Oh encounters and even new species of Pokemon. She is brilliant and has a tactful mind. In many ways, her voice is the most important aboard the cruiser.
Father Dimakos - Carracosta - The leader of the religious group, Light of Arceus, aboard the Ho-Oh. He is kindly, wise, benevolent and tries to maintain a peaceful, fair atmosphere for his many followers. He welcomes all manner of worshiper to his chapel.
Tyler Fitzgerald - Tyrogue - After the loss of his father, Tyler took over the Hitmonlee mecha and joined the Dragon Squadron, despite being much too young. He has a lot to prove but his father taught him well, and while he lacks knowledge of protocol, his piloting skills are top-notch.
Liam Fitzgerald - Hitmonlee - [Deceased] Originally the Commander of Dragon Squadron, but when he was killed in combat his leadership passed to Jet. He left his son Tyler behind and after his mecha was fixed up, Tyler became a member of the squad.
Hector Diaz - Herdier - A stern and grumpy fellow who serves as the ship’s chief mechanic and engineer. He likes to play cards and may have a bit of a gambling addiction. When Rafa tried to steal parts from his shuttle, Hector saw his potential and brought him aboard the Ho-Oh as his apprentice.
Rafa Kalani - Rockruff - A young man and war orphan who grew up fending for himself on a refugee station called the ‘Junkyard’. Has never depended on or trusted anyone else until Hector realized his mechanical knowhow and brought him to the Cosmic Cruiser to learn under him.
Violet Nishimura - Vivillon - Ho-Oh’s Lead Science Officer. Her knowledge of xenobiology, alien customs and behavior is indispensable to the crew. She is often on the bridge giving informed opinions when not in her research facilities.
Margaret “Maggie” Steele - Mawile - Something of a civilian-appointed leader, she speaks for the non-crew population of the Ho-Oh. She can be a thorn in Ethan’s way of doing things, and just as stubborn about getting her way, but it’s generally for the good of her people.
Professor Malcolm Burnside - Flareon - One of the three seeking asylum after the Eevee Science Station took sides against the Ho-Oh. He became Ship’s Doctor, and has done astonishing work as a geneticist and medical practitioner. Though introverted, he is a well-meaning fellow.
Raze Renard - Quilava - A hot-headed young pilot in Dragon Squadron who has had trouble adjusting to life aboard the Ho-Oh. He lost his family when the space station they were staying on was destroyed. His relationship with Quaid has been helping him come to terms with his loss.
Davis Dewford - Dewgong - Commander of Avalanche Squadron, another of Ho-Oh’s mecha teams. He is a friendly sort, preferring to stay out of many of the pilots’ rivalries. Instead he prefers to daydream about life after the war and starting a family.
Orion Kincaid - Nidoking - Chief Security Officer aboard the Ho-Oh, essentially leading the police force. It’s a tireless job, being tasked with the interior protection of all the cruiser’s residents. Orion is tough as nails, intimidating and unsurprisingly, takes his work very seriously.
Quaid Wells - Quagsire - He owns and operates The Phoenix Fountain, an upscale bar near Ho-Oh’s downtown district. He’s a relatively new business owner, using everything he had to get his own place on the cruiser. He is outgoing and silly, but his patrons love him all the more for it.
Dax Gupta - Donphan - Major and second under Cassius in the Advance Squadron. He is a man who only speaks when he has something important to say, preferring to quietly observe and learn from those around him in his own way. Has utmost respect and loyalty for Cassius.
Lyle Green - Grovyle - A skilled wingman in the Advance Squadron. His brash way of acting and speaking often gets him to the verge of a fight, luckily his quick thinking and faster mouth usually helps him work out a less violent solution!
Sam “Zero” Keller - Zangoose - An enigmatic fellow who walks the line between legal and less-so every day. He trafficks in secrets and information. He has a peculiar relationship with Orion since they have no business being friends but find they need the other’s help more often than they’d like.
Forrest Woodson - Leafeon - Joined the Ho-Oh along with Malcolm and Gabriel. He left many who he cared about aboard the Eevee science station and is trying to find his place on the cruiser. He is smart, creative and excited to have joined a cause greater than himself.
Gabriel Crenshaw - Umbreon - Forrest’s boyfriend of several months and the last of the Eevee to join the Ho-Oh’s ranks. Big for an Umbreon, Gabe protects himself with a very tough facade, which helps him land a job as the bouncer at the Phoenix Fountain.

Failure AU: Flooded Hoenn
The sun was peeking over the far horizon, sending a red hue into the sky and casting shimmering light across the expansive ocean. May had gotten up early and sat watching the quiet sight on the deck of the boat.
A few other people had risen out of their cramped rooms and were stretching or bracing themselves tiredly on the railings. The open air was brisk and salty as she breathed the stuffy cabin air from her lungs. It smelled of fish and rain and soft earth.
Earth.  There was no more earth. No more fields or valleys. The silent stillness of the sea was eerie and the salty taste in her mouth made her bitter. She wanted to watch the sun rise over a forest or over rolling green hills. May could not imagine watching the horizon of the sea forever. She wanted to ride in the professor’s truck on a long road trip and watch the rice fields and pastures go by.  The archipelago of Hoenn was gone and in the most incomprehensible way it was all her fault.
She clutched the bag of her sparse belongings and tried to push the thought away. It had come to her many times in the past few days after the initial shock of the disaster had died down. The soft pain in her chest felt threatening. May dreaded the idea of the guilt she’d carry for the rest of her life. She wondered if…no… how the flood had affected the rest of the world. What of their neighbors Kanto and Johto? Sinnoh? What of the far off lands of Kalos and Unova? And what of the other island region of Alola? Certainly, she had brought disaster to them as well.
Steven said it would be all right. The other regions had already begun to react with compassion, he told her, and soon shipments of food rations had been sent in. Steven had also told her it wasn’t her fault. May sighed and cradled the bag to her chest. He said a twelve year old child should never have to shoulder the fate of the world. That’s what Archie had said too. And yet, they were the ones to send her to fight the colossal leviathan that desired to flood the world.
It was all Archie’s fault, really. But she didn’t have the heart to hate him. She remembered the look on his face when the sea started to churn and the sky began to thunder. He was scared just as much as she had been. She was too tired and too scared to hate him. She was just a twelve year old girl. Twelve years old and her failure had caused the destruction of the world as she knew it. Her mind then went to the still water beneath the boat. Watching it shimmer, she imagined how deep and how far the water went down. She imagined all the houses filled up with water and all the toys and pictures and precious memories that were drowning down there in her mistake. It wasn’t her fault. She was just a twelve year old girl.  And what about all the people? All the people that had drowned… She was just a twelve year old girl. Just twelve years old.
She squeezed her gray eyes shut and hugged her bag tighter, feeling her notebooks and pokedolls through the fabric. She wanted to scream. Scream at the ocean and at the adults that made her do something that no child should have to do. She could see the memory of the great toothed whale blurred by fear in her memory. She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry.
“May?”
She was pulled away from her painful thoughts by the voice. Turning, she came face to face with Brendan. For a while, she had almost forgotten that her neighbor friend had been placed on the same temporary holding ship as her. There were so many people, familiar and unfamiliar, that she had hardly crossed paths with him. She realized now that the deck was being filled with more and more sleepy passengers.
“May!” He grinned a grin that felt too unfitting for their predicament. “May, the captain’ll let us borrow a little rowboat. My dad asked ‘im. We can go find some secret little islands! Let’s go, it’ll be fun!”
His boyish grin was too contagious. A weak smile broke on her lips. She loosened her hold on her bag. Little islands. Land. The thought of planting her feet on real ground for the first time in a week sparked a bit of hope in her heart. It was silly to hope in times like these, she thought, but if silly things are what is needed to get a move on, then it’s just fine.
The bearded old sea captain lowered the rowboat with the two children into the water. Professor Birch fussed over them and handed them their rations to take along if they got hungry, which included a water bottle, an apple, and a peanut butter and oran marmalade sandwich. The captain offered them a portable radio and a couple of walkie-talkies in case they wandered too far. Professor Birch begged them to take the latter. After a little arguing by Brendan, they opted to take both, and seemed more ready for a picnic than an island search party for two. Pushed off from the boat, they floated off into the still water.
“See you later, Dad!” Brendan shouted excitedly as he stood up on the little rowboat and waved at the professor with both hands. She wanted to scold him for attempting to tip the boat, but she only managed a weary smile.
When the boat was a distance away, but still visible, the two of them put the rows aside and decided to relax their arms and listen to the radio. Brendan flicked through the stations. Most of them were just static, as May had expected, but they eventually found an audible but fuzzy station.
“From Johto maybe?” Brendan remarked, “They’ve got that great big radio tower. I really want to see that one day!” He looked solemn for a moment, but then his trademark snarky grin crossed his face. May could tell it was all a façade. She remembered him earlier, after May had returned scrambling and crying to announce her defeat. There was horror and shock on his face. He really believed she could defeat the beast.
They were quickly transported back to Littleroot with the help of their Latias and Latios to evacuate their belongings, Champion’s orders. After she had packed what little she had, thinking sourly about how funny it was that she was packing up just after she moved there, May quickly ran across the soggy earth to her neighbor’s house rush him. Brendan was taking such a long time picking through his things that by they returned downstairs there was already an inch of water on the floor. Rushing towards the door, she turned around to see if he was following her. She saw him leaning down to pick a floating pokeball out of the water.  He looked up at her, holding the ball grimly, and tears began to fill his eyes. Hoenn had been his home for so long. Now it was gone.
She looked at him sadly as they listened to the radio.
“Kanto’s Pallet town and Cinnabar are completely flooded. ---push inward towards Mt. Silve--- Johto’s coasts are flooded as well and mass ---- are --- the center of the mainland. The Sevii is submerged. People in Alola ---- towards the mountains and volcanoes. Unova’s shorelines and ---- Castelia is suffering from structural damage ---mass evacuation. “
May put her head in her hands. The rest of the world was suffering.  “Shut it off, please I can’t take this.”
“Maybe I could find some music?” Brendan offered sheepishly.
“Just turn it off, I said,” she demanded. He swiftly did so.
They watched the sea together, sharing a silent and deeply imbedded sadness neither of them could explain. They were just twelve year old children.
At the beginning there was nothing but sea, at the end there will be nothing but sea. The world will return to its original state and life will thrive as it did then. There will be nothing but sea and still life will find a way to go on.

Episode 14
Scene 10:
[Later in the afternoon, Ren, Wally and Kai are out training their pokemon on Route 120. After a while Ren pulls the boys aside to learn Judo together. Wally has an easier time with the stretches and basics than Kai. Their practice gets interrupted when Ruby spots a pikachu and goes after it. Māia and some of the others tell her to lay off, but she insists and continues to dive at the terrified pokemon until Kai throws his body between them. The pikachu cowers behind his legs while Kai yells at the enraged swellow. Ruby flutters back and forth as they argue, trying to get behind Kai. He warns her that it is an electric type and dangerous which only makes her scoff. The pikachu chooses this moment to poke it's head around Kai's legs and electrocute her. Ruby's body jerks and she tumbles to the ground. Kai is concerned, but she pops back up after a moment. The pikachu attaches himself to Kai's leg and stutters out some threat, rosy cheeks sparking for emphasis. Māia swoops over and plants herself between them and Ruby eventually backs down. The trainers go back to working with their pokemon and the pikachu sticks close to Kai. Some other trainers come by and they have a a few battles. As everyone packs up to head back to Fortree, Kai offers the pikachu a spot on his team and it happily accepts. Ren decides she wants a walk before she turns in and the boys head back to Fortree while she sets out further down Route 120 alone.]
Scene 11:
[It is early evening and the sun has only just begun to set. Low clouds and mist hang heavy as she trudges along, mostly watching her feet rather than the beautiful scenery. She comes to a tall, steep riverbank and continues along it as the woods open up. The path turns abruptly west across the river and Ren looks up and out across a long suspension bridge over a huge clear pool. She looks down and sees the colorful evening sky reflected in the water. She starts to walk across the bridge and looks up to see Steven standing at the other end. He starts across and they meet in the middle.]
Ren: Hello Steven.
Steven: Hello Ren.
Ren: [smiling a little] So, are you just hanging out here or…
Steven: I was looking for you. I saw you with your friends earlier, but I thought it would be best if we could talk alone.
Ren: Yeah, probably. What did you want to talk about?
Steven: Well, first I have something for you. [He takes a small box out of his jacket pocket and hands it to her with just a hint of hesitation. As she opens it] I wish— I wanted to give you this under better circumstances.
Ren: [looking down at the green and red polished stone] Is this sceptilite?
Steven: Yes.
Ren: [holding it up to the light to reveal little golden flecks within] It’s beautiful.
Steven: [He hums in agreement.] It’s actually my fifth favorite stone.
Ren: [placing it back in the box] Oh? What are your top four?
Steven: Well, my top favorite would have to be Latias’s soul dew, second favorite is metagrossite of course, aggronite in third, and at the moment steelixite is occupying fourth.
Ren: [flirtatious smile] I’m glad you finally have a piece then.
Steven: Thank you so much for that. Tungsten is constantly admiring her own reflection these days.
[Ren laughs a little and closes the box. She stows it in her pocket and looks back up into Steven’s face.]
Ren: I don’t even know what to say. Tāraki is going to lose his mind. And you don’t have to feel bad about the timing. I don’t. [She smiles but his face is strained. She looks down again.] …It actually works out well for me to tell you the truth. We had a bit of a fight this morning. [tapping her pocket] This will make an excellent apology.
Steven: I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure he’ll come around.
Ren: I know he will. It makes me feel a little more guilty, if anything.
Steven: What happened?
Ren: I didn’t want him to fight in the gym. I know he can do it, I just couldn’t— [quiet] After Wheta I couldn’t risk it. He was right, I wasn’t making any sense. I let him battle tons of fire and flying-types when we’re fighting Magma… But it’s different, you know? Those battles are for something and I know he would never stay in his ball anyway… It would be one thing if I was doing it to protect him, but for once I can’t hide behind that. This time I know for certain it’s only because I’m scared.
Steven: Then I would say you are already more than halfway there. We all have our ghosts to carry, but it’s the ones we can’t see that weigh us down the most. I am confident you will find the best solution for both of you. He’s still young, and from what I’ve seen he’s very much the sort to leap first and look on his way down. But I think given a little time, he will understand. He loves you very much.
Ren: Thank you, Steven.
Steven: Of course…
[Ren smiles up at him, though a little weakly when a raindrop lands on her nose and her face scrunches up. Steven smiles for a moment at her comical expression then looks up and holds out a hand. Sure enough more raindrops begin to fall one by one.]
Ren: Oh no, not your suit again! I’m sorry. I don't have an umbrella.
Steven: [pulling out his vapor box] Not to worry. I have my own.
[He pulls out a large black umbrella and opens it just as the rain starts to come down heavier. The inside of the umbrella is silver and while it is quite large, Ren does have to stand right next to Steven to stay dry. Steven holds it between them as the raindrops patter off it.]
Ren: [looking up at the umbrella instead of the very close Steven] Wow, this thing is huge.
Steven: [He regards the underside of the umbrella too for a moment as he stows his vapor box] When one likes silk suits, one must take certain precautions.
Ren: [She chuckles, glancing at him before looking away again.] So, what was it you wanted to talk about?
Steven: I actually wanted to apologize for the Weather Institute, I should have been there sooner.
Ren: [looking up at him] Don’t—
Steven: I feel terrible about the whole thing. I—
Ren: Steven, what should you have done differently? You have no reason to feel guilty about this. I, on the other hand, have plenty.
Steven: You were there when I should have been!
Ren: We were both too late. I may have been there sooner but it didn’t make any difference. They were a step ahead of us, plain and simple.
Steven: That’s what bothers me. This is my responsibility. I should be able to—
Ren: To what? Read their minds? Steven, you can’t blame yourself for things that you can’t control. [He looks away.] You’ll go crazy. Believe me, I know. It wears you down. It causes you to make mistakes you didn’t even have to. This is going to be difficult. We both need to be as strong as we can be.
Steven: Then you shouldn’t be blaming yourself either.
Ren: [turning away] It’s different. I made an error in judgement. For once I thought I knew what I was doing, that I was making the right choice, but it was just my hot-headedness getting the better of me same as ever. Kai was even there to talk sense this time and I just ignored him. I blundered in there and created a mess without achieving anything. You came in and defused a situation that nearly got me killed. So please stop beating yourself up about it.
Steven: Now I think you are the one taking too much responsibility for what happened. There was no way for you to know that you were too late. And time was of the essence. We often must make decisions without the benefit of all of the pertinent facts. Just because something doesn’t turn out well doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right decision to make in the moment.
Ren: I—
Steven: And Latios was there with you. He would have stopped you if he thought it was a bad decision. Are you really going to blame yourself for not having more insight than an Eon Guardian?
Ren: Hmm… Maybe you are right. [glancing cautiously back up at him] And maybe we should both take our own advice, huh?
Steven: Probably. I’ll think about it. For now, perhaps it would be best if we both tried not to dwell on what could have happened and focus on what did. I, for one, am very glad you had someone else there to help you since I couldn’t be.
Ren: I, uh, told him by the way. Not about the Guardians, but about Magma and Groudon. And Wally too. I hope that’s okay. I probably should have—
Steven: It’s fine. [their eyes meet] If you trust them, I will too. We may not know each other very well, but I know that you are no fool, Ren Kosugi.
Ren: [looking down and blushing hard] I don’t know. If I was really smart I probably would have at least told Kai sooner. [blush fading] I was trying to protect him, but all I managed to do was let him go in there blind.
Steven: [glancing sideways at her with a teasing smile] I know how that goes. I guess it’s better to let others make their own choices.
Ren: [meeting his gaze with a lopsided smile of her own] I’m glad you think so, because it’s high time you stopped blaming yourself for involving me.
Steven: [looking away in embarrassment] Well—
Ren: [grinning and wagging a finger at him] Ah-ah, none of that now. I know you think all of this is your job because you’re the Champion.
Steven: [sheepish] It kind of is—
Ren: But I chose, this remember? I may have been prodded along a little by luck or coincidence or whatever you want to call it, but it’s my decisions that landed me here. Give me a little agency.
[She looks up into his face, meeting his eyes boldly this time as if daring him to refuse. He stares back at her and his mouth works a little, as if he was about to object but thinks better of it. A warm smile settles on his face.]
Steven: You are right. Forgive me?
Ren: As long as you get off you high mudsdale? Done. [poking him in the chest] Because we were both chosen by the Guardians and that makes us partners. We should have each other’s backs. This will never work if you are always trying to shield me.
Steven: I’ll try my best.
Ren: Good. I think you can manage it. I’m very stubborn, but I’ve learned that much and so can you.
Steven: [grinning] Understood.
[It doesn’t take very long for Ren to melt a little under Steven’s rakish grin. She just smiles dreamily back for a moment before she feels her body leaning towards him of its own accord. She jerks upright and turns away a bit to hide her blush. After she calms down an idea occurs to her and she turns back to face him.]
Ren: Speaking of trusting each other and sharing the burden: you wouldn’t happen to have a blazikenite, would you?
Steven: At the moment, no. But I am of course very well connected where mega stones are concerned. I’m quite confident I could get hold of one. I’ll be sure to send one along when I find one. His last name was Birch, correct? The son of Prof. Alan Birch, might I assume?
Ren: Yep, that’s him.
[They both fall quiet then, becoming lost in their own thoughts. They look out into the rain as it begins to come down harder. The droning of the raindrops on the umbrella is soothing and draws them farther into their own separate worlds. Ren is the first to drift back and she watches Steven in profile. He does a good job of hiding it, but he looks tired and weary.]
Ren: Hey Steven, do you have any friends you can talk to about this stuff? You know, besides your pokemon obviously.
Steven: [coming back to himself with an affected smile] Ren, you have quite enough on your plate as it is. You don’t have to worry about me.
Ren: There you go again.
Steven: Hm?
Ren: Stop trying to spare me! I’m already worried. There’s no point in telling me not to be. [sighs] Look, I’ve just realized how helpful it can be to have someone to confide in. And I’m more than willing to be that for you. [looking away] But you’re right that we don’t know each other that well, so maybe I’m not the best person for the job. It’s certainly clear that you would rather not tell me everything.
Steven: [face falling] Ren—
Ren: [looking earnestly at him] And that’s okay. I just want to know if you have anyone else there to support you.
[He fidgets, looking away, and doesn’t answer.]
Ren: [crossing her arms] Well if you don’t, you should.
[She sighs, not knowing what else to say, but Steven breaks the silence.]
Steven: I do actually—have a friend that is. He knows almost everything. I actually wanted to tell him about the Guardians, and Latias thought it was a good idea, but…
Ren: [nodding] Latios didn’t. I’m not surprised. He was happy I didn’t tell my friends, even though I didn’t ask him. I just thought it might be a little much all at once…
[Ren looks down, drifting off into her own thoughts again. The irony strikes her suddenly and she shakes her head. She smiles a little awkwardly and glances shyly back up at him.]
Ren: We’re a pair, huh? Here I am lecturing you and I haven’t even told my parents yet because I’m afraid it will freak them out.
Steven: I think our instinct to protect those we love may be part of the reason the Guardians chose us. Scratch that, I know it has more than a little to do with why Latias chose me. She is the more defensive member of the duo after all.
Ren: Is that so?
Steven: [nods] And Latios is the more offensive, which suits you I think.
Ren: [quirking an eyebrow] And not you, Mr. Vaults-a-desk-to-tackle-a-dangerous-criminal?
Steven: [a half smile that becomes a grimace] That sort of outburst is… very unusual for me, [composing his features] whereas you openly admit to being hot-headed.
Ren: [challenging] Maybe I was exaggerating.
Steven: [knowing smile] I don’t think so. I’ve seen that righteous fury of yours too many times now for you to hide it.
[They both laugh, her a little sheepishly.]
Steven: Anyway, I don’t know Kai, but if he was willing to charge into the fire with you without even knowing why, He can probably handle knowing a few unsettling things. Rire can definitely handle it… [big sigh] You’re right: I should talk to him more. Arceus knows he pesters me about it enough.
Ren: Good. And while we’re on the subject, you should also listen to Bessemer more. They’re your better half.
Steven: [whining] Not you too! What did they say?
Ren: [not giving in the slightest] That’s between us. Bottom line: we both have to start taking better care of ourselves.
Steven: [gesturing at himself] I bought myself this new suit. Does that count?
Ren: I’ve never personally understood shop therapy, but if it makes you feel good, then yes: it’s a step in the right direction.
Steven: You were supposed to make fun of my wealth and vanity. I left myself wide open.
Ren: I don’t need you to make an opening for me. [stuffy caricature of his diction] I have ample opportunity whenever I should feel the inclination.
Steven: That I cannot argue.
Ren: And were you fishing for a compliment back there?
Steven: Never! Why, the insolence. I can get compliments at any time and from anyone I choose.
Ren: [leaning towards him, hands on hips] Except from me right now because I’m onto you.
Steven: And what kind of partner are you? You just finished lecturing me on how I need support and now you refuse to give it to me. [He touches the back of his hand to his forehead, pretending to be faint.]
Ren: [not backing down] I didn’t volunteer to be the one to provide it.
Steven: [grinning] Yes you did! [smug] Twice now actually.
Ren: [trying not to grin] Alright alright, you beautiful peacock of a man! You look stunning in that suit.
Steven: Thank you.
Ren: [as she stares up into them] It really brings out your eyes.
Steven: [staring straight back into hers but wiggling his eyebrows] Do go on.
Ren: [blushing but refusing to get flustered] Pffff. You’re really milking this, aren’t you?
Steven: Needing constant validation is another of my many flaws.
Ren: I doubt that.
Steven: Well, maybe not, but I still enjoy it more than I probably should. It’s hard to grow up with everyone telling you how great you are and not get a little conceded.
Ren: [teasing] Poor you.
Steven: At least I know how blessed and obnoxious I am.
Ren: As if. You are extremely charming. A little too charming if you ask me. What’s up with that anyway?
Steven: It’s always been my part-time job. And it makes a lot of things easier, so it’s tempting to use all the time. And now I’m so used to it, it’s kind of become automatic. It’s a bit hard to turn off.
Ren: So you don’t enjoy the effect you have on people?
Steven: Well, that too, obviously.
[Ren laughs lightly at the admission.]
Ren: I’m glad we’re getting to know each other a little better.
Steven: You say that, and yet you haven’t told me much about yourself. As much as I enjoy talking about myself—
Ren: Oh please. You’re not half as self-involved as you pretend to be.
Steven: [not letting her wiggle out of it] Either way, perhaps it would be best if you took a turn. Any foibles I should know about?
Ren: Well, the temper and the recklessness you already know. And I already admitted to being stubborn… I guess I’m not that self-reflective. I don’t like dealing with my problems.
Steven: I would venture to say that no one does. And I’m not so sure that is accurate. You seem to have a clearer picture of yourself than most.
Ren: That took years of work and training and I still resist it all of the time. My first impulse is always to bury shit down deep where it can rot and come back as something worse that I barely even recognize anymore.
Steven: I guess that is less universal, but still exceedingly common.
Ren: I’m not very open either, at least not about the bad things. Even little stuff I tend to keep to myself. It makes me unpredictable in the worst way possible. Most of the time when I lash out, people have no idea why and it’s entirely my fault.
Steven: I still say you know yourself very well, even if you had to work harder than some to get there. Thank you for sharing that… [He sees her looking down and tries to lighten the mood again.] I did say foibles though. They're small flaws or eccentricities. Have anything like that for me?
Ren: Hmm. I guess I like food a little too much? I definitely spend way more time than I should thinking about it. My friends back in Johto used to make fun of me for it. And the food is what I miss about Johto more than anything else, by a significant margin. The food here is good too, it’s just not the same. And I eat a lot, like really a lot. Probably enough for two people.
Steven: But you’re so small. Where do you keep all of this food?
Ren: I burn it. My doctor always joked that I run hot, like my metabolism is too fast or something? Anyway, I object to that description. This is average height in Johto!
Steven: [dipping his head] Shazai itashimasu.
Ren: [in Kantonese] You speak Kantonese?
Steven: [in perfect Kantonese] Some, but I am by no means fluent.
Ren: Ugh. Naze anata wa subete de totemo sainō ga arimasu ka?
Steven: Arigatōgozaimashita.
Ren: No, I asked why are you so talented at everything. You slipped up.
Steven: Regardless, the compliment is still implied, so thank you.
Ren: [out of the side of her mouth] True. But let me have this at least. I want to savor it.
Steven: Alright then. You’ve indulged me enough for that to be fair, I suppose. My Kantonese is rusty. I haven’t had anyone to practice with.
Ren: Well now you do. [coloring a little] That is—if you want too.
Steven: Absolutely. But another time perhaps. I have to go, I’m afraid.
Ren: Okay… Oh, uh, wait. [rooting around in her bag] I almost forgot. [pulling out a small package wrapped in brown paper] Kōtai, my sandslash, made me promise to give this to you. It’s for your sandslash. I think she left an impression.
Steven: [smiling and accepting the package] I’ll be sure to deliver it. Would you mind holding the umbrella for a moment?
Ren: Sure—uh—no.
[Their hands touch as he hands it off to her and the tremor it sends through her makes it hard to hold the umbrella steady, but somehow she manages. Steven gets out his vapor box and pulls some black clothing out of it. He puts the garments over his suit and switches out his shoes for boots. He also gets out his flight goggles and puts them on his head, though he doesn’t yet lower them into place over his eyes. Ren marvels at the effect. The clothing turns out to be rain gear (pants, a jacket and a short poncho) with reflective silver stripes running lengthwise instead of the normal horizontal.]
Ren: Damn.
Steven: Okay, you’ve done enough now. You’re a good partner. I take it back.
Ren: No, this time I’m serious. How does even a rain-fly make you look good?
Steven: Well, it helps that I get everything custom…
Ren: [disbelieving] No!
Steven: Oh yes. It’s my mountain of money and I shall spend it as I choose.
Ren: [grinning wide despite herself] Get out of here, you filthy rich, silver spoon, gorgeous dandy!
Steven: [with an exaggerated bow] As my lady wishes.
[He lowers his goggles over his eyes and the reflective surface obscures them completely. He sends out his skarmory, who stretches his wings but seems unconcerned by the rain. Steven turns to mount up and Ren bites her lip.]
Ren: Hey Steven.
Steven: [turning in the saddle to face her] Yes?
Ren: Thanks for cheering me up. I really needed it.
Steven: [big smile] You’re welcome. And thank you for kicking my ass. I really needed it.
[With that, Damascus takes off, leaving Ren alone under the umbrella, blushing crimson. She puts a hand over her erratically pounding heart and her eyes flutter as she thinks over all of the bald-faced flirting that just happened. This does not help her heartbeat at all and she takes a few deep breaths while pressing on her chest with one hand and gripping the umbrella unnecessarily tight in the other. Then she remembers that it is Steven’s umbrella she is holding and that he clearly left it on purpose so that she wouldn’t have to get wet. It also occurs to her that he didn’t bring it up so that she wouldn’t refuse. She is surprised and maybe a little annoyed at how the gesture makes her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.]

Anime I need to watch (April 2017 Update)
Wow, has it been a month already? Okay then, time to give my thoughts on the anime I’ve seen this month and then update my list accordingly. A LOT more to go through this time since I’ve been on a bit of a movie binge
Okay, first off I’ve just finished the Dark Tournament Saga of Yu Yu Hakusho, so I’m up to episode 67 out of 112. I got through it a bit slower than I thought because other stuff kept coming up. I’ll still give more of my thoughts on the show when I’m done, but I’ll say I really liked this saga. It was very well written, had some great fight scenes, and the story and character development were very compelling. If I have any complaints it’s that the saga sometimes felt like it dragged on a lot, it did feel like it took forever to get through even without the breaks I took. Also, Genkai suddenly showing up alive out of nowhere at the end of episode 66 was stupid and nonsensical and it better get a good explanation, because right now this just seems so forced and unnecessary.
In between that though, I also got the DVD for the series The Devil is a Part Timer in the post, so I took a day off to binge watch all 13 episodes.
The Christian part of me wonders if I should really be watching a show starring Satan as the main character and portraying him as actually not that bad a guy. But then again, the geek in my is just shrugging my shoulders and having fun with such a ridiculous premise as the devil working in a McDonalds parody. Weird feeling in the back of my head aside though, the show was pretty fun and charming. The characters were likeable, the humour was fine and overall it was just an enjoyable show through and through.
It’s not perfect, the second to last episode felt pretty underwhelming, and the final episode while not bad didn’t really feel like a final episode, though that epilogue was nice. And yeah, this feels like a story that was meant to go on longer than it did, but it’s been four years and no second season so I’m guessing we’re not getting any more of it in anime form. I guess I could give the light novels or manga a try, but it always irks me whenever I get into a show only to find out it was ended sooner than it should have been. But apart from that, I didn’t have any big problems. It’s a good show. Not amazing, but it was fun and a pleasant way to kill some time, and sometimes that’s all I need. Not much else I can think to say and I have a lot else to talk about.
Like I mentioned in my last update, I got the DVD for the movie Only Yesterday, one of the few Studio Ghibli films I haven’t seen yet, which only got dubbed fairly recently. So I watched it at the start of the month aaaaaaaannnd... it wasn’t for me.
Now before anyone comments, Only Yesterday wasn’t a bad movie. I get what they were going for with it, being a series of events from someone’s life and to paint a picture about what sort of person the main character grew up to be as she’s trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. I can definitely appreciate the value of what the film was going for... but, the whole thing was just too disjointed and not always that interesting for me to get all that invested. Looking back, I kinda find it hard to find the words to describe this movie and how I feel about it, it was certainly a unique experience for me I’ll give it that and I don’t regret watching it, but unlike all the other Studio Ghibli films I’ve seen I don’t really see any reason to come back to this one. It’s not even that I don’t like grounded slice of life stuff, Whisper of the Heart is easily in my top 3 Ghibli films. I can’t say Only Yesterday was bad, because it really doesn’t feel like a bad film, but it’s not something I care to watch again.
After that I think the next anime movie I saw was Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys, one of two Advanced series Pokémon movies I missed out on. This one I liked more... but it was just okay. Really, I don’t know what else to say about it. The story was okay, Noah was a good character but everyone else was just okay. The action and visuals were okay, barring some conspicuous cgi. Deoxys and Raquaza were okay. Really, it just like one of the more average Pokémon movies I’ve seen. I’m still glad I saw it, but I remember as a kid hearing about it from people and knowing a Pokémon I really loved like Rayquaza was in it, I guess I always thought that it was something bigger and more interesting than it was. Ah well, that happens.
Hmm. Two meh movies in a row. Let’s spice that up with another Ghibli film. The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, which was much more up my alley. I love the art style of the movie, it worked perfectly well for an adaption of this Japanese folk story and just really stands out among most other anime movies I’ve seen. I liked the characters and the story, while there were a few questionable parts here or there, was pretty good, and I did feel sad by the time things came to an end. It wasn’t really the best Studio Ghibli film I’ve seen, but it certainly did a lot more for me than Only Yesterday.
Okay, I think the next film I saw was Akira. And that was... um... ... what the heck WAS it?
Seriously, I still don’t completely understand what I watched. I’ve heard this movie was adapted from a pretty long manga that wasn’t even finished when the movie was released, and that a lot of stuff had to be condensed... it shows.
I’ll say that the visuals were great and when I understood well enough what was going on, the movie certainly had plenty of good moments. But it feels like there were a lot of scenes or moments haphazardly slashed out of the film at various points that would have made the story feel more coherent. I could understand the gist of what was going on after giving things some thought and seeing the whole film, but the story and various characters feel underdeveloped or just not explained well enough at times, it was hard for me to get invested and just enjoy the movie. It wasn’t a bad experience necessarily, but I think this is one classic that’s really not for me. I think I’ll try to read the manga at some point, but I honestly didn’t quite get the film. And this is coming from someone who was able to mostly follow Evangelion.
And after that bit of weird grittiness, I watched another Pokémon movie. Pokémon Heroes. This was honestly the only original series Pokémon movie I had never seen before the cast change, since I just never got around to it for some reason. And I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t as great and epic or had as much depth as stuff like Spell of the Unown or Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, but it was a really charming movie with some genuinely touching and sad moments. It was well animated, the villains didn’t have a lot of depth but they were more fun to watch than a lot of movie villains. Latios and Latias were pretty interesting, and Ash was at his best here. The whole thing with Ash possibly getting kissed by Latias at the end is a little weird, but hey, it wasn’t as creepy as say that kiss scene from Sonic 06, and this wouldn’t be the first time the anime has had a Pokémon crush on Ash. Ain’t that right, Bayleef? Apart from that though, this was a fun movie and I’d gladly come back to it sometime soon.
Wish I could say the same for the next Pokémon movie, Hoopa and the Clash of Ages... boy that felt hollow.
You know, I don’t really mind that the movie didn’t have a strong story. If they wanted to make a movie that was all about spectacle and showing off as many legendary pokemon in a big battle as possible, I’m all for that. There’s nothing wrong with a dumb movie, as long as it’s something fun. But honestly, the plot was so thin and unengaging, that when it got to the clash of legends, everything just felt kind of... bland. Like, there were good moments, but overall the fight just felt empty and not as spectacular as a battle of this scale should be. There was no sense of scale or tension, it was just... meh. There were a lot of interesting ideas for a story here, but everything felt underdeveloped and that it would have made more sense as a long arc of the show.
And then there were plenty of stupid things in the movie, worst of which being that literal deus ex machina of a climax. I’ll give Pokémon the First Movie this credit, it had a lot of dumb moments, but the movie at least felt interesting and enjoyable. This... ehh, I just couldn’t find it all that satisfying. And I really wanted to enjoy it. Honestly it’s not often I finish a movie feeling pretty empty, but here you go.
Thankfully I did have time for one more Pokémon movie, Jirachi Wish maker, the last Advanced generation movie I hadn’t seen. And luckily it was decent. Nothing great, more around Destiny Deoxys level quality. In that it was really average and a little slow at parts, but it had plenty of good moments to it and it was overall charming, which felt like a needed breath of fresh air considering I watched it immediately after Hoopa and the Clash of Ages (Came in the post together). But this post is going on pretty long so I can’t go into much more detail.
And then the last film I watched was The Last: Naruto the movie.
(Deep breaths).
I have a lot of mixed feelings about Naruto these days. I discovered the series when it was still airing on Jetix in my country (Back when Jetix was still a thing), and I quickly grew to love it. For a long time it became my favourite show of all time, even briefly eclipsing Dragon Ball Z as my favourite anime (Given time and retrospect and watching Dragon Ball and Z again, no, they’re still my favourite, but back then that’s how I felt). I really loved the series and I kept up with every update on the story, and despite not enjoying a lot of the stuff with Sasuke after the fight with Itachi I enjoyed everything in the manga right through the Invasion of Pain story arc... and then things gradually started slipping off the rails for me.
I won’t give you a full detailed account of my personal history and how I felt about the series as things went on, but I kept up with news on the story and checked in on the manga right up until it ended, and from the conclusion to the Kage summit arc right to the end, soooo much stupid and bad stuff happened that just left me confused, annoyed, baffled and angry that Naruto honestly just turned into a chore and then a big disappointment, and I was only following updated on it because I was too invested to not want to see how it ended. I legitimately don’t think I’ve ever been angrier at a plot twist than I was with the whole Kaguya is the big evil mastermind reveal than I have been with any other reveal outside of One More Day. It got to the point that while it ended, even though things I wanted desperately to see for the longest time like Naruto becoming Hokage and getting together with Hinata ended up happening, I just wasn’t satisfied and in fact all I could feel was empty and upset that the second half of the series had turned out so badly.
The final third of Naruto was honestly the most frustrating experience I’ve had with any piece of media I’ve ever loved outside of maybe a lot of the nonsense Marvel’s been pulling like OMD and HYDRA Cap. I’ve been feeling melancholy about the whole thing for years, just feeling down and empty and wishing things had turned out better. I never even saw The Last despite it sounding like the story I’d been wanting to see.
Recently I’ve been feeling more and more nostalgic for it, especially between the whole announcements of it’s follow up Boruto and the Shippuden anime FINALLY coming to an end. So, I recently ordered up the DVD, and yesterday I watched The Last: Naruto the Movie for the first time.
And for all the ups and downs and mixed feelings, all the bitter feelings I’ve had over Naruto... I enjoyed the movie. It wasn’t perfect, but it was beautifully animated, had some great fight, the story was good, and as someone who considered NaruHina their number 1 OTP for years, to the point it’s actually what got me to start reading fanfiction, the movie was really touching. It was satisfying seeing Naruto and Hinata finally getting together, and that final scene especially was just beautiful.
I won’t go into full detail, because if I feel like it I might do a sort of review on the movie at some point, but I’m very glad I watched it. After the last several years, it felt like the closure I never really got with this series. I can’t force myself to sit through or enjoy a lot of the stuff towards the tail end of Naruto, but for what it’s worth, looking back... I’m still glad I got into it. I’m glad for all the fond memories I have of the franchise. I’m glad for all the good in Naruto, and all the good times I’ve had being a fan. I’m glad that Naruto got to fulfil his dream and earn the happy ending he so very much deserved, and got to be with a woman who truly loves him. And... I’m glad for The Last. That it exists, and that I finally watched it.
Honestly, I think now I want to go back and watch some of the series when it was good, for old times sake. And when the DVD for Boruto comes out in June on Amazon, I think I’ll watch that movie too. Who knows, if I like that maybe I’ll check out the anime or manga follow up too. Less likely, but who knows, I’m feeling nostalgic now.
I may not be able to call Naruto my favourite show anymore. And I won’t call the second half of Part II of the manga and Shippuden good. But I think now enough time has passed that the bitterness I’ve been feeling over the series has finally faded, and I can be happy to still call myself a fan of Naruto. It’s not perfect, it should have ended up better in the later stages. But when it was good, it was something magical to me, and I choose to remember it for all the joy it brought to me.
So, to close it out... thanks Kishimoto. Thank you for all the times your series brightened up my life. Good luck with whatever you do next.
Well, I guess that’s all I really needed to say for now. This was a... fairly productive month for me. Hopefully next month will be even more so. Until then, I’ll just leave things at the updated list. I’m just gonna go finish Yu Yu Hakusho now. The Big Alto Mare Update
Tumblr media
Alto Mare is an incredibly expansive place, with a lot of things to do. For reference, I finished playing Sirius back in August, and I have over 800 screenshots for it! Here’s a bit of BGM for the area.
Tumblr media
The devs really like their Pokemon movies; much like Shamouti and New Island in the sequel, this entire area is a love letter to Pokemon Heroes. Anyway, Bianca asks us to head over to her house later as she has a favor to ask of us.
Tumblr media
“…small, injured Pokemon here.” She tells us the Pokemon is at Bianca’s home.
Tumblr media
The department store is pretty awesome as they have all these TMS on sale! It’s quite nice.
Tumblr media
This kid is pretty important, so keep him in mind.
Tumblr media
This guy entrusts you with delivering some tea to a lady elsewhere in the city. This is also important.
Tumblr media
This guy functions simulator to the egg-hatching incubators in Touhoumon games. It comes late, but it’s still nifty.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, Alto Mare has a gym, and May and Brendan are here! Gina – who will be familiar to people familiar with Pokemon Vega – is the leader.
Tumblr media
The elaborate building here has a Mirage Field that lets you battle a small selection of level 60 Pokemon. It’s a way to grind, I guess, or catch some new Pokemon if you wanted.
Tumblr media
While crossing here, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Latis. The guy over there will talk a bit about them.
Tumblr media
I’m sure this won’t come up later!
Here’s the lady you give the tea too. Yes, it’s important!
Tumblr media
A cool thing is that there’s a building where you can sit in and listen to all the gym leaders hold discussions over varying things. This discussion is about the status of Alto Mare’s gym, and whether it should be recognized as an official gym or not.
Tumblr media
For 500P, you can eat a meal here to gain a Moomoo Milk. It’s an interesting way of getting one, and we’ll need it.
Tumblr media
“…there used to be a house where a little girl lived, but… I wonder what happened to her?”
Hmm.
Tumblr media
This guy will give you a Rare Candy for 10 Nuggets. If you’re really patient, you could grind Nuggets from in the area and exchange them for Rare Candies. If you don’t have any left, you’ll want at least one for the kid who wants sweets.
Tumblr media
There are other uses for them, though: this guy can tutor these rather useful moves to your Pokemon in exchange for three Rare Candies.
Tumblr media
A couple buildings in Alto Mare have non-visible side entrances. Anyway, a chat with Bianca has her inform us that there are some sparkling stones around Alto Mare, and she wants you to collect them.
Tumblr media
There are 34 of them in total scattered all over the city.
Tumblr media
The fetch quest will take you all over Alto Mare. For what it’s worth, though, you can start collecting them as soon as you enter Alto Mare.
Tumblr media
The Pidgeotto runs as you get close, so it starts up a little mini-game of sneaking up and cornering it; it’ll give you a Nugget for your efforts, and you’ll get sent back to the Pokemon Centre afterwards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In lieu of checking everything in every building, just look up a guide, I guess.
Tumblr media
Self-explanatory. But what does Mosmero have to say?
Tumblr media
…oh!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re generally all in these secret base accessories. Nice use of them though!
Also, the pretty stone is in that statue, but apparently the hack has a bug where interacting with it won’t actually give the “Found a pretty stone message!” However, if you collect the other stones, the story will progress without any issues.
Tumblr media
Another movie cameo! Lorenzo warns you of the area here being unsafe due to there being holes.
Tumblr media
They’re also outside, in some cases.
Tumblr media
What a surprising reference!
Tumblr media
The hole here drops you in Sphere Ruins! Lorewise, Alto Mare was built atop the ruins of the city. How does that correspond with the Sphere Ruins in Tohoak? Ah, that’s a story for another time.
Tumblr media
Braille translations, from left to right:
“WELCOME TO SPHERE CITY. SPHERE CITY WILL COLLAPSE SOON. AT LEAST ASPHERE IS IN A SAFE PLACE.”
Tumblr media
Following the path leads to a ladder that brings you back up here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, with a champion whose team ranges from 68-74, you get a fight with a team that’s 60 at best. Well, par the course for these hacks. (That KO’d mon was a Breloom)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this should be the last pretty stone.
Tumblr media
These are levels more similar to what you’d expect a post-champion team to have. Yeah, I’m underleveled!
If you’re playing as Gordon, then April will have a very similar team. She’ll have everything but the starter (obviously dependent on yours), Mismagius, and Politoed (depending on your starter). DrAkimbo’s translation/walkthrough (he chose the Grass starter) had her use Mismagius/Roserade/Fire starter; if you chose the Fire starter, then she’ll have Water starter/Dusclops/Bakeko; and if you chose the Water starter, then she’ll have Grass starter/Necroshia/Kapwondo.
Gordon’s team will be different too if you chose another starter; if you chose Grass, he’ll have the Fire starter/Dusclops/Breloom, and if you chose Fire, he’ll have the Water starter/Magcargo/Necroshia.
After the fight, your rival will tell you that there’s a legendary hidden somewhere in the city.
Tumblr media
Bianca’s all happy to get the stones back, and this will open up another area in Alto Mare.
Tumblr media
The gym opens up, and we can find Brendan and May inside. They’ll say Gina isn’t ready, and indeed, she isn’t. There’s a bit more we need to do.
Tumblr media
This isn’t related to the Alto Mare quests, but this guy can be useful. Talking to him gives you the EV-raising vitamins.
Tumblr media
This is the Secret Garden, described as “the sanctuary of Latias and Latios.”
Tumblr media
Bianca will introduce you to the Latis and the Soul Dew, and helpfully informs you that you can battle them. The cute thing is that Bianca calls back to the events of her movie.
Tumblr media
“…and candy. There are words inscribed on the base: to the brave Latios that saved Alto Mare.”
Speaking of callbacks, this is something I like a lot.
Tumblr media
So whatever Lati you chose on the TV is honestly inferior to the ones you can catch here. In terms of fighting these two, they come with Recover but only know Psychic-type moves, so you can just park a Dark-type in front and lob balls.
Tumblr media
The Gym is ready, so we’re able to fight through. Interestingly, Brendan and May are the gym trainers.
Tumblr media
Hey, what happened to your shinies? Does he have a non-shiny version of his three ‘mons just sitting here for when he’s in Gina’s gym…?
Tumblr media
Some trees here have switches that change their layout; there are three of them, and the goal is to pave the way to Gina’s room up there in the right.
Tumblr media
May has a pretty varied team, too, as expected. I wonder if she has shinies of her own.
Tumblr media
The puzzle isn’t too complex. You could easily trial-and-error it.
Tumblr media
Wait no more!
Tumblr media
It’s another retroactively familiar face! Gina, or Ginno in Japanese, serves as the leader of Alto Mare. Her team is different than what was seen in ornidl gets clubbed by moonrunes.
Tumblr media
For starters, she’s specializing in a type. Having the Water starter is a bit of an oddball, but it’s not like the game has never thrown off-type wildcards at us before.
Tumblr media
In lieu of a badge or TM, we instead get… Ordina?
‘Ordina: Wha…
Gina: Go with this kid! Go out and see the world more! Don’t you think it’s better than being cooped up in here?’
Tumblr media
If you talk with Ordina beforehand, you’ll be told that “Ordina seems flustered.” I’m sure this didn’t help much. Gina makes a comment that Ordina is shy, and Celia is sent on her way.
Tumblr media
Our next destination is the Secret Garden, where Ordina is hiding. Bring something with Surf as we’ll have to be doing some searching for her. (Yes, her.  I can finally stop conspicuously avoiding using pronouns for her! I’m planning to do a bit of a brief update regarding Ordina.)
Tumblr media
This is a set spot, but when discovered, Ordina will teleport away to a different location. By the by, she’s also invisible, but you won’t be able to walk through her.
Tumblr media
She can also hide in the same spot despite teleporting away, so that’s fun. There are eight other places where she can be hiding, roughly marked in black below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’re apparently supposed to find her a whopping twenty times before she’ll show up here (invisible, mind you), but I only had to find her about three times before she teleported here. I don’t know what happened – I did leave to get a mon with Surf, but I doubt that affected anything... unless it’s just you need to keep finding her until she decides to teleport up there?
Tumblr media
So, Ordina.
This is a bit of a mean puzzle by the devs; she absolutely has to be caught to progress further in Alto Mare, but that’s not as easy as it sounds. Unless you knew what was coming up and have a ‘mon set up for this, you’re unlikely to have something that can weaken her as you’ll have a party of Pokemon vastly outleveling her. False Swipe won’t work normally as she’s a Ghost-type. She’s a legendary and has the typical legendary catch rate of 3! You could KO her or flee, but then you’d have to redo the hide-and-seek game.
So, what’s the answer to this?
Tumblr media
Hope you didn’t use it earlier.
Tumblr media
Ordina is much like Mew or Jirachi, etc. in that she’s a legendary with base 100 stats across the board.
Tumblr media
Your rival will be here afterwards, and can be rematched. They’ll also let you know that Sphere Ruins is open, so that’s where we’ll be heading next.
