I rediscovered this song “you smell of dead flowers” and the last few lines immediately reminded of solar and his sun and I just grgrhergraragh!!!!!

“You smell of dead flowers / I smell of the sewer I rot in” has the vibe of solar thinking back on his sun, who maybe once had a sweet scent to him but the memory has since been tarnished and twisted with grief that dead flowers are the only thing that come to mind. that, paired with the next line, gives the impression that he puts himself below his sun; that he is something that rots and pollutes(“because if I wasn’t, my sun wouldn’t be dead, right?”).

The next lines hammer that in some more, with “I’m ashamed of all I am now / and all I am now / is painful” really cementing the vibe of his low self worth and I just. I just!!! Idk!!! It makes me terribly emotional to think of their dynamic and how solar could harbor a lot of grief, regret, and self hatred because of what he “did” to his sun and i’m just. ueueueue,,,,,

The way i could rant for a while abt how much I hate what they did with ruin in tsams

I love ruin

I love his design, I love his personality, I love him as a character.

However what I don't like, what I hate, what I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE, is what they did with his character arc

I hate the trope where a character is evil, has a redemption arc and them becomes evil again. I hate the trope "They were lying the whole time" and were always evil. It throws out the entire thing out the window

I like that ruin is morally grey. I hate that people are treating him like pure evil because he caused solar's death. He tried to avoid it, he did reshearch to try and avoid it but there was nothing. He possibly stopped a lot of problems.

The thing were his sun came out when saving foxy right or whatever it was, was that also acting? Was it actually his sun? It could possibly actually be his sun, being that he could've thought for that slightest bit of control. It would be amazing if they let his sun and moon come out, even though they won't have individual forms (his moon would just be bald ruin lmao).

Now, if someone hands over lunar to the creator (I'm looking at you moon), I will loose my absolute shit. That would be all of ruin's work down the drain because he did all this to prevent the creators from gaining that power. While yes the remaining creators could still always get lunar on their own, I wouldn't mind that. But if they hand lunar over I will loose it.

I also think the VAs might've seen my older theory that evil sun was lying bc they basically called us out on that so uh 💔

So sorry if any of this seems rude, I just really need a way to rant about this to the public because its been nagging me ever since. There is that anomynys confession tsams thing, but I don't wanna do that so bare with me.

It’s funny how the flashback episodes remind me how much the actor matters to character. Whenever they do a Sam flashback episode I’m like, “wow! What a fun complex character! He’s a sweet, well meaning nerd in a difficult situation who has more of an edge than first meets the eye!
