"Not canonically autistic but he has ZERO volume control plus he scripts/repeats stuff (“I’M FINE!!!”), sometimes mimics other people’s speech patterns (like replying “ja” to Klavier), sensitive to loud noises (stayed backstage at a concert cuz it was too loud) and bright lights (complained about the stage lights being too bright at the same concert + screamed when opening the hatch to the bright stage at magic show), and has been really into space since he was a kid, which could definitely be a hyperfixation (not to mention how he read every single one of Phoenix’s old case files back when he admired him). Plus he’s a little TOO normal, to the point where it circles back around to making him the odd one out, which is absolutely what masking feels like for me. Even when he tries to be fun and weird he gets strange looks/made fun of for not being weird in the right way. The list of autism symptoms is just a checklist for him at this point."

some tma and tmagp meta and thoughts, disclaimer that this does contain some more negative critique

i think i realized why i still think about tma despite not actually fully loving the podcast. i like a lot of the lore and the workings of the avatars and the meta narrative around power structures,and many of the themes it discusses and disects through the subtext are intriguing, it has a very interesting tapestry of the inner workings of it's universe

but the actual way the podcast tells it was, at some points, repetitive and a little bit boring, i would have to relisten sometimes to episodes just to remember what was happening even though i was listening to a lot of it in the same time span and should have remembered, i havent felt as much of a need to revist the story as i have with other audio dramas ive listened to. I do want to say that i genuinely enjoy tma its just not something that ive latched onto as i have with other shows.

side tangent -> and seeing how volatile the fandom was in its peak i don't want to be involved further lol. I'm someone who has a bad habit of looking at discourse and critical tags because i like fandom history and I'm nosy, and seeing posts about jmart being "too fluffy" and the ending of tma having "no impact" and how they were "pandering" right next to posts about how "traumatically tragic" the ending was and how jmart was "extremely toxic" and they made them "do terrible things how dare they" was really funny. there were legitimate critiques of things there as well but the divisive nature of s5 is amusing to me as an outsider that came in late additionally some stuff with how fandom centers whiteness and white narratives, as nice as it that there is a widely adopted fanon of Jon as a person of colour, specially a brown asian man, i think the fandom still didn't really decenter whiteness at all, like sure you're solving the sexy man problem by making them non white but have you done...any thinking into the deeper implications of it? i have, being south asian myself makes it impossible not to. tangent over

I guess some aspects did not feel as tight as they could have been, with some themes the show deals with being hits and misses. i think the structure and the statement format as iconic as it is, restricted the way the story could be told, if i'm making sense? (and the decision to go with more realisitc and more grounded horror that intersected with real world issues are a part of said hits and misses from my perspective, some things i feel didnt fully work from a narrative standpoint but thats a subjective thing that i wont get into)

thats why i'm enjoying tmagp a little more, i think they took what worked well with tma and expanded on it with a fuller cast from the offset,the inclusion of the non statement parts that tma had (the interpersonal relationships and conflicts) and intergrated it without fully losing what makes tma intriguing to listen to. tmagp so far seems to balance the cases and the character interactions well. it doesnt feel like we're just going with the same format and its not too unfamilar either.

like one thing i'm looking forward to is the guest writers, specifically a few of them since ive listened to their work and loved them, and it will be really interesting to see how their writing would work within the tma universe.

and an aspect which makes tmagp intresting as well is if you have proior knowledge of the tma universe, we know much more than the characters, and have our own perceptions of what is going to happen to them based on our previous understanding of the series and the events that transpired. we're just waiting for the characters to catch onto what we know, and all the foreboding tragedy and devastation that will come with it.

some part of me wonders, if this season will be about how tragedies like the universe ending in the way it did in s5 are unavoidable, how even in an alternate universe where the circumstances are different the same things are bound to happen again. no matter what its inevitable, the mark of what transpired cannot ever be reversed,

like there are parallels to be had with how jon was ultimately pulled into everything against his will and had not that much agency in what happened to him, even if he did make the decision to use the power he had(for both good and bad reasons), it was forced onto him in the first place. meanwhile we have sam who is desperate for a connection to something greater, as a part of his self worth is tied to being chosen, even if we know that being chosen is not what it seems, hes willing to endanger himself if it means finding out more with his curiousity overpowering the risk factor. i wonder if the outcome of it all will be the same because that would be very very interesting.

either way the tighter nature of tmagp seems to work well for it and i hope that the momentum continues till it's conclusion, and even if not I had a decent time with it so it still would have been worth it

They're both terrible people but P4 doesn't try to justify Adachi's actions even if you pick the accomplice ending and side with him, meanwhile P5 constantly goes 'but he was sad tho :( his daddy doesn't love him so he's allowed to kill ppl' after the reveal that Akechi's the traitor. Also I did the math and in the cutscene where the train gets derailed alone Akechi killed at least 100x more people than Adachi did in the entire game. There's nothing wrong with liking evil characters (IMO) but acting like they're sweet innocent babies is lame

Adachi and Akechi have similar roles in the story. They’re both the subject of the main mystery of their respective games, the killer and the traitor, and in order to hide their involvement, they have fake detective personas (lowercase p personas not Personas). The issue is that while Adachi’s fake personality is a lovable dork who goofs off work by hanging out in the lobby of a department store, “accidentally” leaks critical information about the case to a bunch of teenagers, and has a weird friendship with an old lady who thinks he’s her son, Akechi's is just generic “crime bad, criminals bad” detective man with zero substance to any of his interactions with the main cast outside of literally all of them fucking hating him (the correct and morally right response to Akechi talking to you). But that’s just their fake personalities, right? It’s totally fine for a completely false, constructed persona to be a little shallow, right? Well Akechi’s real personality is just as bad. I already mentioned how his entire motivation is “Waah my dad doesn’t love me so I’m gonna help him achieve his goals then kill him” which is completely fucking stupid by the way just kill the dude and be done with it if thats what you’re gonna do anyway man, but his personality boils down to ‘generic angsty villain whos gonna get a completely undeserved redemption arc’ (thankfully cognitive Akechi killed him before that could happen, the one good thing he did and it wasn’t even really him). Adachi’s real personality is completely unhinged, his big motivation speech can be summed up as “ACAB!” “But you’re a cop!?” YEAH AND I’M A TOTAL BASTARD WHAT PART OF THAT DON’T YOU GET!?” You love to hate him, and that’s what makes a good antagonist, not feeling sorry for him because his dad doesn’t love him. Guess what Akechi, a lot of people's dads don’t love them and none of them became domestic terrorists to try to regain his love and respect!

And you might think that I’m exaggerating with how the player is supposed to sympathise and eventually forgive Akechi, but after he explains his awful motivation, the first person to extend a hand of sympathy is Haru, the girl who’s father Akechi murdered in front of her like two months prior. The second person is Futaba, who spent her entire adolescence traumatised because she thought she was such a shitty daughter that it drove her mother to suicide BECAUSE AKECHI KILLED HER MOTHER IN FRONT OF HER (the dude’s consistent I’ll give him that.)

Head cannons for being in a V-poly relationship with;;

Cuphead and Mugman with a reader who is teaching them magic;

It would be quite a shock to you at first at them working under and for the casino; after all the battles they've worked through with fellow employees, just an ordinary(but not ordinary) bar tender/waiter/waitress such as yourself would have better judgement than to work here. Although that, you're glad they did.

It didn't catch your attention at much firstly, but got rather intrigued by the fact they wanted their powers. Mostly as of you grew up with them, and took granted for them over the years.

What first caught your eye of the two, apart from their cup heads, was their total hot and cold behavior. They were total opposites! It was entertaining; to say the least. As you grow closer and eventually end up in an V-poly relationship, they're familiar with your magical powers at this point.

It's around the time of laughing off their bickering or something one of them said to another; that you mention to the two how their magic techniques would be really different as for how they work and communicate as well.

But you took it more seriously as of their purpose and their desire to know of the Calix Animi; which you had grown familiar with as of your ancient weilding family. They hold deep secrets; of what you're aware of, so you offer to help the two.

This first set off you being their mentor for whatever spell they had wanted to learn. You started off with basics before developing into harder motions; so that they could learn and get used with such magic and their castings.

Cuphead; on one hand; will rock with any kind of magic if it will help him laugh up a joke or use it to his own advantage. This may not be the best things to teach him, but being bored most of the time; it is fun watching him run around creating trouble until you're brought into it.

It will be hard to teach him, too many steps can make it a bore for him so he ends up slacking unless he has to use it as material. One of the very first magic spells will probably be something out money or a prank, you may not be pleased with whatever the outcome; but hey... he's learning.

Mugman will be transfixed on your abilities and will ask questions like he'd run out of time if he didn't. Most spells will actually be useful and practical to help him throughout the day; or maybe even some spells to use as punishment against Cuphead if things get out of hand.

Mainly; you'd be sitting with Mugman off shift; just helping him research and walking him through spells. It's an accomplishment watching his eyes light up in victory at his new found ability; but in the long run would leave him with a bigger burn of desire to learn more and leaving you the one in a boredom mindset.

Luckily for that, somewhere not far off has Cuphead causing trouble for you to be set free from his question overloads. You really love the guy, honest! But it's like your brain is an engine coming to a bust with working all day and then that.

Mugman will be easy to develop and give harder challenges to, as of the attention he gives and his interest in the matter. Cuphead will be running behind, but you're for sure not just letting him. You'd probably pull a few magic rooted pranks on him as some sort of motivation to get back at you.

Cuphead would have more a chilled and relaxed technique and approach to his magic usage or ability; while Mugman will have a stronger fuel to use it for its purpose and most likely will grow strong in parts like protection, defense and castings.

As for the Calix Animi; when you think they've (just about for Cuphead) have reached a level of understanding, it would be most likely that you have known of it through family members and their knowledge. You'd have strong magic roots, only producing with other magic knowing people; that had helped you grow strong and knowable today.

So they may earn more information by snooping and sniffing out answers of such people you know.

But with that information, you may also use traditional magic that might not be flying around so much. These textbooks that have taught you the very same would be handed out to the two, which also give them the ability to truly learn about earthy, grounded materials that would've been used in older years.

Any textbook of such power may give away any information of sorts; which does motivate you to also help read through any suspecting pieces and textbooks.

Overall; you help them grow spiritually as well as people. You may piss a few people off with the fact Cuphead is pulling more pranks easier than ever; but you truly ground them to a certain point and help them with finding any myseries of Calix Animi as well.

Since we are doing anime can we please have a bleach one where the M6 are forced to watch Mc turn into a hollow by the devil and Mc hollow form is almost like ichigo’s hollow form and lets just say Mc went out of control and caused chaos in the Devil’s realm (kicking the devil’s ass but anyway) and the only M6 got Mc to stop was knocking them out and lets just say Mc doesn’t fully look like a hollow but doesn’t fully look human either and there stuck like that , and the mask comes off there eyes look like hollow eyes.Lets have alot of angst but somehow a good ending please.

Hi, sorry this came really late. I just came back from a visit to my grandparents. Their WiFi was terrible & since they live close to the beach we spent most of our time there or by a restaraunt or by spending some time with the family. Also, I've never watched Bleach before so I tried watching a bit to get the gist.

I watched the scene where Ichigo turned into a Hollow, he was essentially dead and the Hollow was a survival mechanism, according to the Wiki, to protect Orihime.

Setting: M6 watch the Devil kill MC, are devestated until MC comes back as a Hollow & beats the shit out of the Devil. Then it goes from there.

Asra

They rush to your side the moment you stop moving. They are heartbroken & overwhelmed by shock that they try casting any sort if spell that is close to revival.

They were happy to see that maybe one of their spells was working & you were still alive, but they noticed a dark energy surrounding you.

The dark energy surrounding you was groeing so they turned their attention to the Devil & before they could accuse him of cursing you, you stepped it. to both their shock. Wehn you turned to make sure Asra was alright, they saw the mask & knew you were now a Hollow.

Even though they wanted the Devil to get some payback, they didn't expect it to go this violently. They were almost certain that your brawl would tear down the entire realm.

Before you could cause any more damage, they cast a sleeping spell on you then binded the now beaten up Devil & magically dragged you back to the Oasis.

They were relieved that you woke up & seemed to be back to normal - temperment wise. But they eventually broke the news about what happened to you.

The news was shocking too say the least, you didn't know how to react. They just watched as you slumped back into bed, while they go off to make some tea. When they came back they comforted you while carassing your face & telling you that it would be okay.

Your mask fell off after you hugged Asra, they took it as a sign of good news, but they saw that your scalera was still pitch black & your scalera, a haunting shade of yellow. They tell you but say that you look good either way.

They try to help you with the transition amd will try to find a cure or a reversal spell to turn you back to normal, if thats what you want.

Since you both were both planning on traveling anyways, the Hollow transition sped up the process since you both agreed that any Soul Reapers will have a harder time finding you.

Nadia

She was shocked. She ran towards your fallen form to make sure, she wasn't right. Unfortunately for her, her worst fears seemed to come true.

She was ready to face the Devil. She berated, humiliated and insulted him while doing her best to fend him off with her sword, but before he could land a serious blow you pushed her out of the way.

She was shocked that you were alive & that you didn't seem injured by the Devil's latest attack, she grew even more confused when even the Devil gave a confused look your way and revealed that you went through a drastic change.

She was horrified when you acted out more violently then the Devil, she got a good glimpse of what happened to you when you nearly tore the place to shreds & saw that you were no longer a human.

To get your attention from the beaten Devil, she threw a piece of rubble past you. Then, once she got your attention, calmly but slowly approached you. Once she got close enough she took your hands in hers to reassure & get you back to your senses.

Before you both left the realm, the Devil got one last laugh before revealing that you have become a Hallow.

Nadia defended you by continuing to insult the Devil before taking your hand and leading you out of the realm, allowing you to process in the silence.

As soon as Nadia & you reached the portal to Vesuvia, your mask fell off, giving both of you some relieve. However, Nadia does tell you that your eyes haven't changed back yet, because she doesn't want to let you believe a lie.

She immediately gets you comfortable before, having a private meeting with Asra & Julian to see if there is a cure or anything to help you.

Thankfully since nothing else except your appearance changed, she allong with Nazali & sisters to help keep any Souls Reapers away from you & offering your services to get rid of other Hollows. So you don't have to worry about leaving.

Julia

The moment you fall to the ground, he dashed over. When he noticed your heart wasn't beating he paniced and began to perform every form of medical ressusitation.

He was devastated, angry and shocked. If it weren't for the fact that he still had Portia, Mazelinka & friends to try to save, he wouldv'e committed a Romeo & Juliet.

The moment the Devil got up close & personal with him, via grabbing his face, Julian is shocked by the punch that hits the Devils face which causes him to let go of Julian.

He was mortified to see that you have now become a Hallow, but nonetheless happy to see you alive and literarily kicking the Devil's ass.

He noticed that things were getting a bit out of hand, you were busy using the Devil as a weapon to severely injure his servants & break down some of the infastructure.

He called out your name to make sure that you would hear him. It caught your attention as you dropped the Devil & rushed over to him, thinking he might've been in danger.

He decides that it's best for him to show & tell you that you were no longer completely human by first getting you to notice the mask that was almost permanately stuck to your face and gentky tell you that you had become a variant of Hollow.

You were shocked, confused and scarred. You didn't know what to do, so you just stand still only moving to give Julian a tight hug, then allowing him to confess that he's just happy you're alive.

Once you two get to the Docks, your mask falls off. You werea bit dissapointed that your eyes weren't back to their original colour, but Julian reassured you that you looked good even if you gave off a spooky impression.

He will try his best to study Hallows along with Asra, hoping to find a cure in the meantime. When he's not busy trying to get you comfy he occasionally makes a horny joke about your new abilities.

As much as he loves Vesuvia, he loves you and his family more. So he agreed along with Portia & Mazelinka that you would probably be safer.

Muriel

He saw the Devil/Lucio kill you, by ripping out your heart, then watched as he threw your lifeless body at him. He was devestated, not only has the love of his life been killed, but he knew he couldn't do anything to fix it.

He was about to succumb & admit defeat, but decided to continue what you both had started. He was ready to face the Devil head on, until you stepped in to punch him in the face.

He was shocked to see that you were alive, he thought it was a blessing from the other Arcana. That was before he got a good look at the mask & spine-chilling eyes. You transformed into a Hollow.

Even though it was a good thing that the Devil was losing, he grew ever more concerned by the fact that you were pushing the violence too far.

He managed to get to you before the Devil wound up dead, then caught your arm before you could land the final blow. Once you realised that it was him & not any lackeys, you calmed down.

He didn't know how to tell you, but he knew he had to try. However before he could get to the point, Asra, Nadia & Morga found you both, their shocked looks managed to tell you enough before you dashed off into the woods.

Muriel eventually caught up with you nearby a river. Sitting by the edge & staring at your reflection. He sat beside you in silence before apologising that he couldn't help you soon enough. You hug him and he reciprocates, and cries into your shoulder.

Only when a tear starts to form, does your mask fall off to reveal your face, your both a bit shocked, but since you looked back at the water to gaze upon yourself, you found out that your eye's haven' reverted back to their original colours.

He tries his best to keep you happy or cheer you up & tells you everyday that your appearance isn't what he and the others like about you, but your personality.

Since you both are relatively far enough from the city & only really travel to Khamagalai's Village, he doesn't worry much about any unwanted guests getting to you.

Portia

She was horrified when she saw you go limp. She tried everything she knew to try to wake you up, but to no avail. She fell to her knees in dispair.

When she laid her eyes on her aunt, she was consumed by rage, took out her weapon & charged forward. Until she is stopped by you getting there first.

She was happy that you were alive, extatic really. She was almost happy to see some fear in Tasha's eyes but quicklly joined her when she revealed that you have now become a Hallow.

Her concern grew when she saw how badly you were beating Tasha up, the went on a continnued rampage.

She stood in front of you, to stop you from landing the killing blow to her Aunt. She calmly pointed out that Tasha was injured & that you've practically destroyed the Devil's realm.

Once you've calmed down, she slowly approaches you then pulls you into an awkward hug, until you reciprocate it.

You already know due to Tasha, that you have become a form of Hallow, so Portia reassures you as you expose all your fears & worries. She soothes you with the promise that she'll always be there for you & believes that you won't hurt anyone else.

As soon as you left the palace, your mask fell off. You were both happy to think that the form might be temporary. She does tell you that your eyes are still black & yellow, but she looks on the positive side and tells you it might go away in a week or so.

She tries to help you in any way she can, she also keeps an eye out on you in case you start to lose your humanity.

She's agrees that the open water of the sea was probably better than staying in Vesuvia. Even though you haven't changed personality wise, she does know that some people won't be able to see past that.

Lucio

He did rush over to you, hoping that you were alive. He tried to give you CPR & chest compressions, but ended up sobbing when he realised that you were dead.

When he was about to get attacked by the Devil, his feelings of dispair temporarily disappeared, when you managed to block the attck.

Those feelings returned when he got a good glimpse of the mask now covering your face along with your now black scalera & burning yellow irises.

He lost concern for the fact that you have now become a Hollow in favour of silently cheering you on as you beat up the Devil. He gained concern again when the destruction got out of control.

When you seemed to be finished with the Devil he cautiously approached you, he had his hand near his sword in case he had to use it. But thankfully he managed to calm you down.

Once you've calmed down, you notice the worry & fear in his eyes, in which you catch a glimpse of your reflection in. You take your time to check out your appearance.

He tried to talk to you about your transition, telling you a bit of his more ghoatsly life & how he faired before you found him. He then promises you that he'll try to find a way to get you back to normal if that's what you want.

He fully supports any plans you might have, he's a bit surprised that you agreed to become a mercenary with him. But it made sense considering the Reapers might be after you now.

it started back in mid octoberish last year, i was still riding off the tragedy high of There’s Something I Have To Say and i watched several youtube videos about building collapses and fires and i thought hehe i should do this to the seisoukan dormitory

BUT I COULDNT JUST BE NORMAL ABOUT IT NO.. i had to decide who dies now.. who lives.. who gets injured.. and i couldnt decided that on my Own of course . so i had a randomizer decide for me! live on vc with erin, i had a randomizer choose how many idols died and who would die ^_^

i cannot stress enough it chose violence Off The Fucking Bat . it killed TEN idols. THATS A FIFTH OF THE CAST DEAD. and what more it chose THE most tragic people to kill LOOK

AIRA? TSUMUGI? TORI? KANATA HIMERU YUTA MAO SHU? MITSURU AND NAGISA?? ALL THOSE FATALITIES.. i also determined casualties and witnesses through the randomizer and my GAWD.. not a single unit went unaffected by this mf fire!!!!!!

i started this fic actually because i really really wanted to write disaster aftermath and maybe a little bit of anzu stress 👉👈 becos i thought itd be so slay if ensemble square suffered an insane loss and had to figure out how to bounce back when its biggest greatest stars have been snuffed out by tragic fate.. also wanted to write some insane political dialogue between P-Association, ES’ executive board, Eichi, etc etc etc becos i havent read main story at awll and wanna see P-Association fight for their lives trying to keep ES together

for what i actually have of the plot!! it starts with Anzu reflecting on the aftermath of the tragedy (but i may change it to be her presence at the scene after emergency services are called in?) and the actions she has taken since. to mitigate immediate public outcry and limit how much backlash the idols themselves got, after releasing a very rushed investigation, Eichi determines that it was simply an unprecedented accident with no one at fault, but was unable to produce evidence in what exactly even caused the fire; of course, people start to blame the P-Association for not protecting their idols better, so Anzu turns to launching her own investigation into what happened with Ibara’s help !!

for reasons on what actually caused the fire i have very little . something something building’s integrity was failing but no inspections were scheduled for a few months before the incident. Tetora left the gas stove on and the kitchen brerw orp . Natsume performed some insane tragedy curse Gone Wrong . i do not have anything set in stone because its all about Anzu + producers managing the aftermath

at one point Anzu and Ibara ask the idols themselves for help because terrible as it is, first-hand account is some of the best evidence one can hav.. leading to a big therapy-styled circle <- this is The most daunting part of writing because i have to write everyone Right or ill die. but i do like what little i have so far.. maybei will bost it.. b it thank you for reading my looong long rant about seisoukan fire ^_^ my idea is that it really was Tetoras fault but not entirely his. something something Tetora leaves the gas stove on overnight, the building’s gas meter is malfunctioning so all the propane goes unnoticed, an explosion occurs the next morning and several gas mains go craaazy and also ecplode. there is no sense to any of this by the way i just want insane amounts of literal tragedy to happen to ES

In general, I think it's difficult to understand any celebrity's actual feelings on anything. 

 Sometimes it may not be safe for them to express their true opinion, because of image, brand, business, studio, agency, management, or family concerns or constraints. They may be more supportive or less supportive than we will ever know. Anything that approaches bullying is going to be even more complex because there are so many elements, perspectives, and entities involved. (Although I will always side with the victim.) 

With regards to interview, vlog, or variety show missteps and misspeaks, a lot of BL actors are BABIES, like so young. Tell me you didn't make a stupid fucking idiot statement when you were in your late teens and early 20s. Well, you CAN tell me you didn't, but I won't believe you. I certainly did. I was a pretty lousy human for a while. Queer af but still lousy. 

And a bunch of queers from other countries jumping in and attacking is surely going to change baby boy’s tiny mind... right? Yeah, no. No, it’s not. Multiple studies have shown that attacking someone only drives them into a corner and hardens their sentiments. 

Honestly? I don't think it's ever a good idea to make a hero out of an actor... they are, after all, ACTORS. I mean, come on, you must have meet some of the breed? 

Make a hero of the BL character he portrayed, certainly! But not the actor for goodness sake. He’s only an actor, after all. 

Celebrity turns people... odd. Or maybe it's just that the type of personality that seeks celebrity is innately suspicious? At least to this curmudgeonly introvert. (The fact that I all too often end up dating the fuckers is my terrible judgement and wicked bad taste.)

Where was I?

In most of these cases netizens take everything out of context, or at the very least hugely exaggerate. People pick camps. Yes there are certainly bad apples, but I think about this with kpop a lot, sometimes it's all shades of grey and no celebrity is as evil, or as good, as we want them to be. They're mostly just gloriously shiny narcissistic pricks (affectionate).

Particularly with something like homophobia, the context of identity (or identity erasure or abuse) is very culture specific. With BL we are often talking about places where, until recently, they didn’t even have a word for gay. I don't like to get outraged in general, it's exhausting. But to get outraged about something that some pretty kid said or did, in a language I don't speak, born and raised in a culture I did not grow up in, to a family dynamic I cannot comprehend?

It seems like, considering all the grey areas, I am not really equip to judge.

It's not the same thing, but I'm a long time melody and I often think about what happened to Ilhoon. As an outsider what he went through seems absolutely insane. But I've never lived in South Korea. What the hell do I know? I can only make a judgement call from my safe little nest where (currently) weed is legal and has been for ages. I guess, at the very least being in Kpop should have taught Ilhoon how to be careful enough not to get caught? 

And I guess that's were I do judge.

If the actor is homophobic (by any standards), and acts in BLs, at the very least he shouldn't have gotten his tiny hypocritical arse caught out, now should he? Tut tut on the brand management, fella. Practice a little circumspection.

I was gonna send this ask days earlier (but then I forgot) but actually the Kaito scene I was referring to was the one in the factory. I just think it's a nice insight into Kaito, he knows he's fucking up and he's trying Really Hard Not To but it's not easy.

I really appreciate what they did with Kaito I think they could of made both of him into just...horrible irredeemable pieces of shit and not make him part of the main cast (or kill him off). But he isn't, and I like that the game doesn't write them like that.

Maybe I just care a lot about siblings in fiction but I really like Kaito because of how much he fucks up! Because he really does try, the game does Not let you brush him off as just a terrible brother.

Kaito is Hard to Talk To and is a Jerk but he's genuinely trying his best and carrying loads of baggage. You could brush him off but that won't actually...solve anything, Kaito will still be stuck where he is which is bad for both him and Miu.

Though, what I've seen Kaito is a more lukewarm character, not hated in the same way a certain glasses boy is but definitely not as liked as the rest and it's probably because 90% of the time he's Violence Protect Miu Violence ohmaybeIdocareaboutthesepeople Violence.

Though...Kaito is kinda in a situation where it's hard to write him outside of his relationship with Miu, because he as a character is just so centered around Miu and, again he is horrible at expressing his emotions which makes him seem less complex than he actually is.

Honestly like most people I wish they killed Kaito in Harmony instead of Miu. I can imagine him swooping in to protect Miu at the last second and getting dragged off, so he still gets killed by his goal to protect Miu while we get to see how Miu really really feels about his brother and, in a roundabout way, more insight into Kaito.

(I'm now also vaguely reminded of this one VN that had a character who's main flaw was not trusting anyone so they couldn't write him getting into any close moments with the other members of the cast so using ghosts (whole thing) they change the POV character in his route to him so they could keep that trait while still letting you get insights into his character.)

Ah, I know what scene you're talking about now!! My bad for getting confused, I had recently replayed act 9 and I was like akdkdkkdkg *foaming at the mouth about the slap in the gym :[*

But I see where you're coming from, particularly in this franchise with a lot of protective older brothers, we tend to see them in right for wanting to protect them little siblings and Kaito is just.... So wrong even when you understand where he is coming from.

I don't know about how the fandom feels about him despite the fact I do check the tag (in general, I don't think there's that much fan engagement for this VN </3), so I'll only talk about my thoughts about him. I tend to go through periods where I really like him and periods where he really gets on my nerves because of the stuff you wrote in the ask. He can be difficult in the sense you wish Takuma would confront him directly (but in true Takuma fashion, he's very mindful not to overstep his boundaries most of the time), but I think the fact one of the more consisten ways to raise his affinity is to leave him alone speaks volumes about how he's used to getting by, trying to solve everything on his own and not being used to be relied on by other ppl nor relying on others. He's also a kid who's really been neglected and has had to shoulder a lot of responsibility so it makes sense for him to be more than a little neurotic 😂 I think it's a feat for the writing to still be able to portray his proclivity for violence in a way that feels unsavory when this franchise is all action and fights (Thats one thing I did wish Survive had been able to pull off better. To give you feasible alternatives that aren't fighting for some of the plot beats, but that's for another post).

He does have his nuances, like how he's aware that he can be a pain in the ass and difficult to deal with. And wrong, most importantly. I think a lot about that Wrathful dialogue he has with Aoi where she's lamenting her final defeat as Plutomon bc... She was supposed to finally have the power and agency not to make mistakes anymore! And Kaito tells her there's no such a thing as someone who doesn't make mistakes and he himself has had to rely a lot on the others to tell him he's wrong 💔 (which really reminds you of how hard Takuma works to get him to go with the group to the amusement park in pt4, how he has to very timidly set the example for him in act 6 and etc...) I honestly like him a lot in Wrathful, I think it's where you get to see a new side of him even if in a really bittersweet way.

Speaking of how he knows he's in the wrong, I do like a lot that moment in Truthful where to raise affinity with him, you have to tell him to give Miu some space while they're looking for the Northern shrine. I think it speaks volumes about how his friendship with Takuma has evolved that he's at a point where he won't see it as a stranger sticking his nose where he shouldn't. He's just such a family little man, In a US vs the world mentality, it's interesting to see him grow to consider Dracmon family too and slowly reconsider who's important to him beyond that narrow social circle.

Switching Kaito's and Miu's places would indeed be interesting (and I Def Get where People are coming from with this angle for a myriad of reasons), yeah, but I also Love Aoi and Kaito as foils so I still like what we got 😂😂

I’m gonna be an absolute troll about this because I’ve been seeing it a lot and will I make sense? I’m not really sure. Do all the weird arguments about certain people from Teen Wolf make sense? No. But I think I am somewhat coherent to bring up this amazingly - TERRIBLE concept that some have manifested as their new form of hate mail: claiming actors should not get paychecks. That’s generally what this is. Its the MOST  absurd argument I’ve ever seen on here. And come on this is tumblr. But I cant tell if people are being genuine of these statements.

They just say one name and go, hey, (giggles), it would be fun to say actors dont deserve paychecks. 

Like they dont want their own favorite actors to get paid for acting. 

Yeah, like anyone doesn't need some form of compensation to make a living. And their not evil for taking a well-earned paycheck.

I’m very CERTAIN that people will be skipping some rocks when they hear stiles stilinski is gonna be in the movie. (Before you say anything -He’s not in there - I’m not trying to raise hopes!)

 If Dylan O’brien was in this - no one would be shaming him for logging onto the teen wolf movie for anything revolving around a paycheck. They wouldnt be.

 But - people do know Hoechlin’s getting a paycheck, right? Should we throw him at the stakes too? Maybe everyone who has been on the teen wolf cast and in every tv series thats ever existed? Why am I blowing it out of proportions? Because the arguement feels like that.

Why are we even focusing on blaming people for working and then getting paychecks. 

Why should it even be common to argue it? Is everyone okay - or do they not know jobs 101

 I’m just targeting how atrocious and funny all of this is. If you dont want to watch the movie - then stall and stop spoiling peoples experiences. They want to see their favorite characters. It may not be everyone but there’s at least one character in there they want to watch.

But I dont really want to shame these actors at all. Its so simple. They just get paychecks. They are NOT in charge in the amount they really get, or what other actors get. They are for the most part, restricted to their acting roles. Films are all budget and sometimes the film industry just works like that. Actor’s motive for why they join shouldnt be even a question. Its laughable to see: this person is getting a paycheck, how disgusting. Maybe they should work for free.

Thats what it sounds like. Who wants to enforce that people don't get paid for their work?

 Again, they are doing their jobs. 

Its great that Arden Cho was able to ask for a bigger paycheck. Good for her. But she did not get it. And hey, if they did not want to pay the amount compared to her fellow white actors then...? Maybe we can still put our hopes up that further down the road she may want to do something pertaining to Teen Wolf, if she still wants to. She did a wonderful job when she was there. But its so bizarre that she received hate when she was in the show and suddenly she’s not really that supported in this hellsite from those certain haters who defend her. She’s just used as a few sentence arguement. She’s not seen, she’s just used alongside the absence of Dylan O’brien. And thats horrible.

 Tyler Hoechlin’s part in the show did not raise any ridicule or hate. Tyler Posey received hate, and even death threats. Arden Cho was REALLY bullied and harassed for her character. Dylan O’brien did not receive hate. Ian Bohen’s character was praised. 

It’s actually okay to ship whatever you like. Its okay to like any character or actor. And I dont really genuinely shame any actor from the cast for being a part of something that they were apart of for years/seasons. However, maybe we get too passionate, guys. Just like what I have to be in order to bring it out. I’m not the better person at this moment. Obviously, there should be more character affection, not too overbearing. Honestly if your losing people over your hate - well shit?

 I cannot say enough that we should really be okay with actors getting paychecks (as they should), and okaying the free-will to ship without forcing it on others who may have different preferences. Do I have to add ships at the last minute- yes I do. For this argument, I somehow do, because the hate spawns from this source.

1.Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike? Oh I definitely daydream a LOT before I write like god. It's really only when I've been thinking about the idea nonstop for like a week straight that I think I should maybe start writing it soon lol. Even the occasional very rare couple that I get the need to write asap was still only done after half a day of daydreaming the plot and scenes sdkjfhkjdshf. (And for those that are rightfully thinking 'but Lisa, what about the stuff you wrote for past June's when you had to bang out as many ideas as possible?', even those ones I liked to think of an idea for at least a couple of days ahead of when it had to be posted so I could stew on it for a bit) 11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around? Okay, now the correct answer to this is supposed to be the last one. It's the best way of writing hands down and helps you stick with the flow and helps to reduce writing blocks. But my actual answer is that I write everything in order lol. I literally cannot write a scene later in a fic without knowing what exactly the scene just before it was. I need to know what emotions are going into it. Obviously I daydream random scenes out of order in my head, but thats more so I can remember them for when the time comes that I can finally write it down. And yes, sometimes I do get an idea for a scene that would have been perfect earlier on so I inject it and edit the ones afterwards to match, but other than those times everything is written in order because I physically cannot make make myself do otherwise.

20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics? I don't know if I have a preference honestly, I greatly enjoy both. Though I do suppose it depends on what fandom I'm writing for. Any of my Tales of Phantasia stuff I tend to keep canon because it's easiest for me (and being able to play in an actual fantasy world with magic and everything is just so fun), but most of my Until Dawn fics are more AU based now that I think about it. But I think that's mostly because writing canon ud fics means that it's gonna be very hard to write anything that doesn't rely on angst (for obvious reasons lol), so writing a fun fic about shmoopy pining and three nerds just being terrible dorks almost always means it's gonna have to be an AU unfortunately.

48. Who is your favorite character to write for? Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom? Oooooh, this one's a tough one. Mostly because it's impossible for me to narrow it down furthur than Josh, Ashley, and Chris lol. Though I do find it a little harder to get in Josh's head then I do Chris and Ashley admittedly, which is why I have very few fics with him as the view point character. And as for if it's changed? Kind of, I guess? I always knew that Chris and Ashley were gonna be my main favs from the beginning, but for some reason I didn't realize how much fun it was going to be to write them AND Josh together until the first time I did it... which was the very second fic I wrote oops.

69. What are your favorite fics at the moment? ...And this question just got harder all of a sudden lmao. Unfortunately there's not much new going on in the Until Dawn fandom at this time, though as everyone here knows absolutely everything by @queenofbaws is always going to be top contender lol. Antagonish is probably my fav for newest things right now, if only because it's super clear that she is having the absolute time of her life finally being able to write about her favourite things: old men. (As for other fics, got back into the PJO fandom again just recently because of the casting news and I can never turn down some Vex/Percy ala critical role campaign one, but nothing that's jumped out and made me go 'oh my god this is AMAZING' :/)

77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction? I've always been aware that I'm not the most creative person out there, but thanks to ADHD I'm always daydreaming and lost in thought, so I gotta get all these ideas out somehow! And, even though I sometimes think that I can't do the ideas I have justice, I do think that the ideas themselves are good so I want to share them! The fact that other people may hopefully have as much fun reading it as I did writing is only a bonus baby!

There is no way i just saw people comparing the very real problem of misoginy in gaming and streaming with a grown cishet man who keeps making questionable decisions for what? Casting him in a more vulnerable light to avoid talking about his issues? Denial? Ignorance?

No, your streamer doesnt receive backlash because the character he roleplays as in m/necr/ft has stereotypically “feminine” cultural traits or whatever (as if other male presenting characters dont also fit into that category, but thats another discussion) Like i cant believe we have to make this any more explicit that the problem isnt the character he plays, its the content creator himself

He refuses to cut ties with his friend who has done terrible things over and over again (and himself admits he aknowledges this and doesnt condone it so, like, why is he still close friends then?) said friend who is currently being accused of grooming and despite all the proof to back up the claims the cc still said he will remain neutral about it and has even publicly shown support for this friend

My only surprise here is people being upset about people feeling uncomfortable and loudly declaring their unhappiness as if they dont have every right to

Little Xiuying in Caiyi Town

Summary:

One day after he'd finished his month-long punishment in the Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian finds himself looking for something interesting in Caiyi Town to rid himself of his boredom. He stumbles across an odd sight. A little girl hidden in the bushes of some obscure path in the woods fiddling with a defective spiritual device.

Or in which Wei Wuxian finds the meimei he'd never known he'd always wished for in Gusu Lan.

Chapter 1

To say that Wei Wuxian was having a terrible time in Gusu would be an exaggeration.

Though it definitely felt like it at times, what with the 3,000 rules, Lan Zhan being a stick in the mud -albeit a very, annoyingly, handsome one- and there being nothing exciting for him to do in his free time. Running around with Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang was fun and all but doing the same things on repeat was beginning to drive him mad. It was either exploring, studying or drinking with those two. Sure, he was the sort to enjoy those activities but doing them so often with little variation in between was also a bit dull. Unless he was struck with inspiration, either by the beauty of Gusu Lan or to innovate after being inconvenienced, it was a very dull time indeed. Especially, because somehow those stuffy Lans managed suck the creative juices right out of his head for the moment with their insistence upon peace and quiet. 

When he'd left for Caiyi Town both Nie Huaisang and his shidi were also laid up, bored and without incentive to do anything.

Without a bit of chaos or liveliness how was he supposed to be motivated enough to do anything?

It was very much like attending classes -both in the Cloud Recesses and in Lotus pier- if it weren't for the early hours, the countless rules and the way it always felt like everyone was purposely dragging said lessons out with their slowness, he definitely would have enjoyed them. He felt as if those lessons were more fit as an introductory course to cultivating and the cultivation world at large. Until Lan Zhan he'd never met someone who could keep up with him half as well as the other could.

Lan Zhan himself was unfairly beautiful, not just physically -though that was the first thing he'd noticed- he was kind, graceful and a genius as well. Even more than that he was petty, stubborn and -he felt a bit odd just thinking it but- all the more adorable for it. If it weren't for his adherence to The Rules he would definitely be at the top of the list of eligible young masters. As it was such insistence was actually pretty endearing after the initial sting of rejection. 

It was about a third of the appeal of messing with him. 

Though he wondered if it was just him that was frustrated with the inefficiency of those 3,000 rules. There were definitely some that were tedious. There were three instances he could think of off the top of his head where the rules repeated themselves in basically the same way with only a minor change in phrasing. Wei Wuxian was sure that if he tried hard enough he could get one -or more really- to contradict each other. Though he should probably stop thinking about that before his brain decided that such a plan was a good idea so soon after he'd finished his punishment.

Midway to town, after he had left the Cloud Recesses in a rush, barely escaping the indolent fog that had enveloped all of the Cloud Recesses, or at least the guest dormitories, he realized he had left his money. Not wanting to go back on the off chance that a more annoying sort of mischief would find him the moment he set foot back there, he resigned himself to making his fun without any of his pocket money.

With a sigh he cast his gaze along the path he'd been walking, searching for a miraculous sort of entertainment to cleanse his pallet of those fussy Lans. 

Then he spotted a small figure hunched over in the bushes, rustling about and muttering indistinctly. Briefly, all of the nefarious things that small figure could have been doing crossed his mind. Most prominently he thought of dead things. Alas, such was the plight of being a cultivator. He really hoped it was nothing so serious, this outing was, after all, supposed to be fun. 

With a raised brow, Wei Wuxian crept over silently all the while attempting to peer at what exactly they were doing. With his rise in proximity came the, increasingly audible, muttered profanity. His eyes had gone wide and his cheeks flushed. He was astounded at both the absurdity and the obscenity of the expletives leaving the figures mouth. If even he was flustered, he couldn't imagine how someone as upright as Lan Zhan would react.

Completely baffled and taken by surprise, he uttered, "Wow, you've got quite the mouth on you! I don't think I've ever heard anyone curse so… creatively!"

"Eek!" They suddenly stood and stumbled away from him, tripping over some forest debris.

His hand shot out to their wrist to steady them.

He had expected them to be quite a bit taller so while his intention had been to steady, in reality they ended up dangling a small distance away from the ground. The hood and coat combination that had been covering them quite well ended up falling open and with that they became she.

She was a wisp of a thing. Big, bright obsidian eyes, long, shiny hair neatly combed and styled. All fat mantou cheeks and nothing else, her coat -was quite luxurious, he noted- had bulked her quite a bit and the reality was quite startling. She was much smaller than his littlest shidi! Definitely younger than thirteen, she was a girl so she must have been around eleven years old.

Eleven years old!

"Ai ya! You're just a little girl! A child! A baby! So itty bitty!"

Shocked out of her silence -and red up to her hairline- she made an offended face.

"Yeah, w-well you're a giant! Too tall! Who told Gongzi to be so tall!"

Surprised that such a tiny girl would respond so sassily to an unknown man in the forest, he released her wrist. She fell the rest of the way to the dusty ground with a quiet, wump. A dust cloud puffing out from under her.

The hilarity of what occured hit him all at once, the fact that she had hidden in the bushes, the obscenity that had come pouring out of her little baby mouth and the way she had fallen the rest of the way to the forest floor.

He was helpless to do anything but laugh. He did. Wei Wuxian laughed and laughed until he wheezed instead.

"Yes, haha. Very funny Gongzi." She deadpanned, as he was crouched down and gasping for breath. She had righted herself into a sitting position in the dirt instead of just lying face down in it. Her round face smudged with it.

"Ah, I'm sorry. Truly, I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing with you." He wiped his hand down his face and exhaled. "There. I've gotten all my laughs out. Now may I ask what your name is Guniang?"

"Guniang? How do you know that I'm a young lady? I could be a- uh peasant?" 

He smiled, the fact that she had not thought of how the same question could be asked of her was telling. He supposed it could have been Suibian that gave him away. 

"Well, for one you just told me. Secondly, if you were trying to blend in, that coat is not the way to do it."

"My coat? What's wrong with it? It's the plainest one I have? Also shouldn't you have asked what i was doing rather than who i am?"

"Yes, your coat. It's very high quality. And plain? I'm afraid whoever told you that may be blind." He gestured broadly at her with his hand. Not only was the fabric silk, it was tastefully embroidered -with what he assumed was also silk thread- and the color was a dark rich blue, almost black. The way she was still rolling about in the dirt also said multitudes about her family's finances. Not many would give a child something that expensive while they were still prone to getting dirty. "I was simply trying to be polite. If you insist I'll just have to pull out my trusty cultivator interrogation techniques." He teased.

Sure enough her little face lit up, " A cultivator?! You're one of those students up in the Cloud Recesses! My name is Cai Xiuying! And you Gongzi?"

"I am Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian. Pleased to meet you, meimei."

Her face scrunched up as she stared at his face searchingly. "Ah! You're number four!"

"Eh?" 

"On the list of bachelors! I knew I recognized you from somewhere! All of my friends spent ages just staring at all of the portraits!" Little Xiuying informed him with the most earnest expression on her face, her brows furrowed just a smidge.

"But not you? What are the most prominent young masters of the cultivation world not pretty enough for Xiuying Guniang's tastes?" He joked. 

"Nope. Not me." A grin stole across his face at the thought of Jin Zixuan getting rejected by a little girl. She must have been startled by the look on his face because then she'd said, "N-Not that you're not pretty! I just meant that I'm not supposed to be looking because I'm a good and loyal girl."

"Loyal? No, there's no way you already have your sights set on a boy to marry!" He gasped dramatically. Surely, it was some boy in her social circle or the son of a friend of her parents that she had a crush on, right? There was a lingering nagging feeling of unease that he pushed down, he was a cultivator of Yunmeng Jiang there was no problem a civilian girl could have that he wouldn't be able to solve if she asked.

Suddenly, downcast with the most heart wrenching frown upon her face replied. "No, not my sights. My baba arranged me to the son of a business partner. He's older than me and kinda mean." She sighed heartily. Too profound a sigh to have come from such a young girl.

Unbidden came the memory of his shijie, Jiang Yanli, discussing her betrothal with him at the first visit of that damned peacock.

"Lanling Jin is coming to visit? How come?" He had asked, confused. The only time other sects came to visit was when there was some important -boring- meeting or other. 

"Oh A-Xian, my betrothed is coming to visit me." She had answered bashfully, an endearing flush resting on her cheeks.

"Is that like a friend? Are they nice?" He had asked naively.

"No dummy." Jiang Cheng had snorted derisively, "that word means future husband! And he's not nice! He's weird!" 

"Mmm… weird like how?"

"Now, now A-Cheng I know Jin Zixuan didn't leave the best impression on you but we were simply coincidentally crossing paths. He wasn't obligated to greet me." Yanli had soothed.

By the end of that Jin idiot's visit, his shijie had been heart broken although she hid it well it was simply not enough. Pushing him in the lotus ponds with Jiang Cheng during his visit was not enough. After the Jin entourage had left Yanli had fallen ill for a short time. He was of the mind that if the peacock hadn't caused her such an upset she wouldn't have fallen ill in the first place.

"-ongzi? Wuxian-ge? Are you alright?"

Abruptly brought out of his reminiscing by the new title bestowed upon him he answered.

"Yes! I'm fine. My apologies meimei, I was lost in thought."

He had never had a proper meimei! Now that Cai Xiuying had so graciously called him -ge it was official! Little Xiuying was now his meimei. Not just a meimei like the ones back in Yunmeng. The younger girls that ran wild playing in the streets or the girls that helped run the stalls and markets. Those meimei had accepted being called as such because they knew he wasn't being serious and as such never called him -ge or gege. This one though, this one was his now.

"Now about this boy… How exactly is he mean?" It was important to distinguish being rude to being a genuine piece of shit that way he knew exactly how hard to get back at him.

"Hmm… Well, he says weird things about me like 'you should behave more like a lady, maybe then I would like you!' And 'you're a little girl, your opinions don't matter!' He also always stares at other -older- girls and he always ignores me even when I'm talking to him! Oh, and my niang hates him. She says he's improper and he shouldn't run around alone with unmarried women when he's my betrothed. I think having friends that are girls is his only redeeming quality, maybe they'll teach him some manners."

That was when he, Wei Wuxian, vowed to help his new meimei get rid of the betrothal to this bastard. 

What kind of man did shit like that!? Even if he was too old to be attracted to her that was no reason to be so discourteous to a little girl! From the sound of it she had even less of a choice that he did! And what was this about other women!? This Xiuying was so innocent! Even if she swore more creatively than a sailor! He was of the opinion that once a man was betrothed he ought to be faithful, it didn't matter that they weren't married yet! 

"Cai Xuiying, I have one last question for you. If I said I could help you dissolve your engagement would you want me to?"

"You can? Yes! Please! Wuxian-ge! You're the best!" She cheered. She finally stood up from the dirt and flung herself onto him. He chuckled and hugged her back. After they released each other she sheepishly admitted,"Actually that's the real reason I was hiding earlier. My niang gave me this-" she brandished what looked like an elaborate jewelry box. "But I can't seem to make it work. That's why I was swearing." She blushed and handed it to him.

Turning it this and that way he examined it closely. The quality red wood and beautiful gold trim. There was a small jade pin holding the doors closed connected to the right side with a delicate gold chain. As he went to open it, he looked at Xiuying. She nodded confirming it was alright to do so.

Most obviously was what he assumed to be a gold backed mirror. There was some peculiar carved trim on the inside. 

There! Inscriptions written into it disguised as decoration! 

"This… meimei, this is a spiritual device. It needs to be charged with spiritual energy for it to function. And it looks like it's very inefficient… how about this, I'll take this with me back to the Cloud Recesses and charge it up. I'll even try and make it better."

"Okay… but don't lose it or break it! It's okay if you can't fix it but don't break it. It's actually my baba's but my niang borrowed it so I could follow Bai Bingwen around -that's the name of my betrothed- and get what he says about me recorded here. Baba doesn't believe me or niang when we tell him he's mean. So we need this so we can break the engagement." She added earnestly.

"Alright, my classes resume for the week tomorrow so I'll have to meet you in a week alright?"

"Mn. I also have classes at home so this works out great! You can walk me home so we don't have to meet in the woods next time!"

"Ah, won't your family worry about you bringing a strange man home?" He fretted a bit. The last thing he needed was an overprotective family breathing down his neck. If Yu-furen heard of it she would have locked him up. Perhaps not forever, certainly until the collective cultivation world forgot about him.

"Man? What man? Aren't you a boy?"

Ouch. He chuckled, his pride smarting a bit. Perhaps it was his youthful complexion that had confused her. However, contrary to the coming of age of mediocre men, the coming of age of a cultivator was generally when their first solo hunt was completed. His was two years ago.

"I'm sixteen, meimei."

"Okay. So, you are a boy then." She reiterated ruthlessly. "Anyway they won't worry as long as you introduce yourself to the guards at the gates."

Guards? Okay, then miss hot shot Guniang.

Taking his hand in her tiny, soft one she led them to her family estate. Schooling his face into his usual smile took a bit of effort as the effect of holding her supple and chubby little hand was like squishing the paw of a house cat. Or so he assumed as the cats back home had never let him get so close to them, let alone their paws.

"My home is just a couple of minutes up this path! Next time I'll just invite you up for some snacks and we can talk then too. I would invite you for supper today but it's getting late."

The two guards stood at the gates of the estate. As they got closer he could make out their more distinctive features. One had a blank stare and was quite a bit shorter than he and the other guard standing to his right. The other stood tall with a stony expression and glare upon his face. They were about average in their looks, a bit tanned and obviously muscled.

Wei Wuxian smiled nervously as the girl dropped his hand and she ran ahead.

"Guards, this is my new friend! He's a cultivator and he's helping me with Bai Bingwen! He's not gonna come in today but he will next week just so you know. Okay?"

How was it that even the guards seemed to know of the situation when her father wouldn't heed his wife? Was Cai-furen's situation as antagonistic like that of Yu-furen with Jiang-shushu?

"Yes, Cai Guniang." They chorused as they saluted.

"Okay! Bye now Wuxian-ge! Bye guys!" She waved as she scampered into her home.

"Aha- erm. Hello, I am Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian."

"Greetings, Wei-gongzi."

"Wow, you two are so in sync! Was that something you practiced or does it come with guard duty?" The taller of the two smiled slightly at his joke.

After some more light conversation both lightened quite up a bit. The taller one more so than the little guy. 

"I suppose I'll see you next time." He said sheepishly, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear.

"Ah, yeah until next time." The taller one said, sounding dazed. The other elbowed him in the ribs and gave him a look. It was probably the result of a long day at their post.

The journey back to the cloud Recesses was nothing special other than the fact that he had mounted Suibian halfway through his walk so that he could make it in time for curfew. He dismounted his sword out of the line of sight guards at the gates of the Cloud Recesses. As courtesy dictated. If only Lan Zhan could see him now! He snorted, he would probably say something about behaving with the motive of not disappointing his new meimei with an unexplained abcence was ingenuine.

The guards looked at him with faces full of suspicion. He nearly rolled his eyes. He walked past them aiming a beaming smile in their direction. 

He sighed as soon as his dorm came into view. He could just feel the residual laziness clinging to his skin and making him tired.

"Wei-xiong, what's that?" Huaisang asked immediately upon his entrance. probably eager for something entertaining after the listless day he could only assume he and the rest of the guest disciples had.

"Wouldn't you like to know, Huaisang-xiong?"

"Yes, pleeease."

"Hmmm… I don't know, you probably wouldn't find it all that interesting."

"I wonder if wei-xiong is in need of something more motivating for this bit of gossip? Perhaps a bit of Caiyi's finest, flavorful chili oil?" He added, a sly look on his face.

Wei Wuxian wasn't truly aiming to do anything more than to lightly tease but if he was offering some spice to add to the unfortunately flavorless -bitter- cuisine, he would definitely take it.

"Well, I wouldn't dare say no to Huaisang-xiong's generous offer." 

The gossip hungry man looked at the device in his arms expectantly.

"It isn't anything special if that's what you're thinking." He chuckled. "It's a spiritual device in the shape of a jewelry box, I'm going to fix it for a meimei to try and help her out of an unwanted engagement."

"Forget the device, Wei-xiong! Tell me more about this damsel in distress?!" He asked. 

Despite the smile on his face, he couldn't help but feel that Huaisang had come off a little too manic to be comfortable. Must have been the boring day they had, he pushed on anyway.

"Well, for one she's hardly a damsel. She's more like a little girl. Can't have been more than eleven years old."

"Eleven!? That's a baby!" Jiang Cheng interjected, bolting up right from his place on his bed.

"That's what I said!"

"Ugh, when I remember how weird non-cultivating gentry are about wedding young it makes me gag. Eleven years old and betrothed my ass."

"It's not like you two are in any position to talk, hasn't your Jie been engaged since she was born?" Nie Huaisang brought up. 

That airhead! As if that were even remotely related to the situation at hand, beside the fact that both Jin Zixuan and this Bai fucker were unsuitable to be engaged.

"That's different! Jie is betrothed to that Jin bastard because our niang and Jin-furen can make him be a good man or at least behave like one in the future. From the sound of this situation this girl's mother can't." Jiang Cheng defended.

He walked behind the privacy screen to the cold water held in the wooden tub. Too lazy to draw a heating talisman he simply stripped with the intention of scrubbing himself down quickly. Orpheus never thought he could ever get this nervous, well thats a lie he always thought he would be a wreck if it ever came to this but still to actually have this event come to pass in its own right would have shocked his past self terribly. You see Orpheus has been fortunate enough to call a very attractive Pink Tie fling a friend and now a Partner who he was courting, recently they have labeled this officially as Boyfriend and Girlfriend Respectably a fact that still causes a small blush to grace his face to his embarrassment. Of course his family would notice this development and if they mentioned it was because of a dumb grin on his face as he quite literally floated about he would fiercely deny such heinous accusations, Clearly they found out through his mothers excellent investigation skills. But still them finding out about this recent development of his personal relationships have caused them to ask or rather demand in the case of his older sister to meet the one who he fell for, apparently it was assumed that he had no real type and was simply to into his study to appreciate any form. The thought of his family meeting his amazingly cool partner should fill him with happiness however he still remembers his brothers reaction to his tie fling and dragon kin friend form what seemed like ages ago, and of Sephtis's initial reaction to himself that being of a rich kid with a imagined stick up his behind. Orpheus hopes that his brother could be cordial to his Girlfriend, but he knows that dramatic bastard will somehow turn this into all about himself, but his main concern is how Sephtis will react to a proper meeting to his family, his mother they met briefly hell he still remembers the embarrassed anger at her referring to his mother as hot way back then. His sister however never met her, and he is hesitant to have them meet for a good reason, the amount of teasing the two of them could do to him between themselves could possibly destroy him. Unfortunately he doesn't have a choice as Sephtis has already teased him about being embarrassed of her to which he was sure to assure her that he wasn't, and he refuses to make her think that ever, so he must bear the inevitable teasing that will happen. Orpheus's thoughts were broken by a small laugh from said person, the smirk she directed at him due to the look on his face as they flew to his families estate somehow made her even more attractive her hair ruffling behind her horns from the wind as they gently touch down "You always look so stupid when you overthink things you know that" she teased, causing his own chuckle she always did have a way to get him out of his own head be it through insults or teasing him. "This is a big step you know" Orpheus stated once he got himself under control while casting prestidigitation to make himself look presentable "Last time they saw you was the night before i left for a long time on that trip with you guys, so i have no idea how they will feel to know the one ive been so enthralled with is you" he was interrupted by her hand grasping his her fingers laced with his own her skin on his gloved hand, yet he can still feel the warmth raid eating from it "We will deal with it together ok, also You're enthralled in me huh ?" she replied at first softly and ending in a teasing note before she rolled her eyes and pulled him forward towards the guards who watched their young master blush. As the doors opened, and they were announced he felt her squeeze his hand and as he looked up to see his family looking down on them from the top of the staircase he knew that with her by his side he could fight the gods themselves, his family would be nothing in response, so he squeezed back and approached them hand in hand with his beloved more confident then they have ever seen him before.
