#23: “The Miraculous Ladybug Movie May Give You What You Want, but My Show Gives You What You Actually Need! You Don’t Work in Television, so You Wouldn’t Understand.”

I've been running this blog for almost three years at this point, and I've seen Astruc talk trash about various things while claiming his show is better, like Winx Club, Paw Patrol, Pokemon, and Pixar as a whole. I never thought I'd see Astruc act like his show was better than a movie based on his show though.

For those who don't know (and you'd be forgiven, seeing how Astruc has barely talked about it on his Twitter), there was recently a movie that hit theaters based on Miraculous Ladybug called Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie. Supposedly, it's meant to be a retelling of how Marinette and Adrien met as civilians and as heroes. While I haven't seen it, it seems to be getting good reception, with some saying it's better than the show it's based on.

Of course, Astruc had something to say about this.

Okay, I sort of get what he's trying to say here. It's hard to compare the experience of watching an hour and a half long movie and a TV show with five seasons under its belt, but at the same time, the way Astruc phrased it still made it seem like he was trying to say the show was the better option because it “gives you what you need”. Nobody was expecting the Love Square to be resolved in a few episodes. Most people at least wanted more stories about the two to be told that don't involve constant padding. Astruc also acts like the Love Square is the only draw for the series instead of, oh, I don't know, the superhero action? You're really telling me they couldn't have tried focusing more on that after resolving the Love Square? I'm just saying, if The Office can continue after Jim and Pam got together, you can at least try to actually write other stories after the Love Square becomes canon.

One user in particular had some things to say in response to Astruc's claims, and you can guess how well Astruc took that.

Again, nobody is saying that working in television is all sunshine and rainbows, Astruc, but just because someone isn't familiar with dealing with network constraints and test audiences, it doesn't mean that they're unable to provide any meaningful criticism.

Also, Astruc is once again using a psychology term, in this case, the Dunning-Kruger Effect, to act like he's smarter than the critics. This man took psychology as an elective in college, didn't he?

But then again, this is coming from someone who doesn't think constructive criticism is a real thing.

Funny how he once again acts like anything that isn't positive feedback of his show is delusional, isn't it?

Eventually, this devolved into Astruc posting a little tangent about how fandoms have only gotten more toxic, which would have been a decent point... it if didn't come after all the things he said about fans not being able to criticize his show.

Again, there's nothing wrong with what he's trying to say here, but it feels less like a critique of how fans have become more toxic with the advent of the internet, and more like he's complaining about how mean people have been to him lately.

And, of course, this led to the usual fare of people calling out Astruc for his close mindedness, and Astruc once again saying how people aren't allowed to criticize his show in any way that isn't blind praise.

And here's the thing. We're still not done yet. This little tangent only warranted more comments about how Astruc handles criticism, only this time, it's also about calling out the people who think they can do a better job handling the show.

First, do you mind giving us an example of what kind of constraints you have to deal with, Astruc? We all know that TV executives suck, but I think we'd have more of a reason to understand your struggles if you actually explained some things that needed to be changed because of executive meddling.

Second, nobody wants a beach episode, Astruc, especially after that one issue of the comic you're choosing to ignore. We just want a more consistent story that doesn't rely on endlessly padding out the Love Square.

And finally, did you just say you have to be French if you want to rewrite Miraculous Ladybug? What does being French have to do with any of this? I remember seeing a little tweet a few years ago suggesting you would be a good choice to write a Superman story, but last time I checked, you aren't American.

Let's review in case you got lost. Someone tweeted that they thought the Miraculous Ladybug movie did a better job at the story it set out to tell than the Miraculous Ladybug TV show, Astruc tried to explain how his show is still good in its own way while justifying how long it's been going on for, he ranted and raved at fans for daring to criticize his team's writing before going on a tangent about how the internet has made people more hostile over the years, and when people still weren't happy with him, he claimed that you could only criticize or rewrite the show if you're an experienced French TV writer like him.

So just keep that in mind, fanfic writers. Unless you're French and have experience writing for television, you don't have a chance in hell to successfully write your own version of Miraculous Ladybug.

Some Nice!future au headcannons because I want to keep the ideas fresh in my head.

- Bruce is retired, Wich is insane saying this, I know right? How could he? And that's my favorite part he is retired, except he isn't actually.

He generally stays in the comm and no he doesn't care if that bothers Terry. Sometimes Terry just purposely turns his comm off, part to piss Bruce off and part to not get himself pissed off because there's a limit on how much you want your dad minding your business while your doing your job.

So Bruce stays sometimes in the comm and sometimes giving his mostly unwanted inputs on his investigations.

He doesn't get out as Batman as much as he wants to, because yeah that would get him killed but when that ever stopped Bruce Wayne honstly? And also because when he did it he almost gave everysingle one of the Bats a fucking heart attack.

Terry was so fucking confused because some goons and criminals kept telling him 'I though you were taller???' and he would get '????'

- Bruce minds everyone business as well is not just Terry, sometimes he just pop up in the other Bats comms and everyone is deeply annoyed about it, because how the fuck he keeps invading their own security system?

And it's even more infuriating because in the end of the day (most of the time) he is just extremely helpful.

Not even Oracle could keep him off her back.

- Tim is "technically" now the best detective in the world, except he isn't because Bruce isn't dead and Detective Chimps isn't either, but not many people know that.

- Gordon is happily retired thank you very much, and he can finally rest because Montoya filled for him as commissioner.

- Everything that might happen is her problem now.

- Harley is mostly retired she lives with Pamela in a farm and works as a super-people/part villains therapist from home-office.

- Harley and Pam got married.

- Jason visits Harley constantly, they bonded a lot in these past few years.

- Jason visits Harley much more often then he visits Bruce and Bruce is definitely not jealous about it even though Harley lives in literally nowhere and the Manor is right there–

- Bruce nags Jason, so much about it. He nags everyone about it. He sends a passive agressive "Alfred told me to tell you dinner is ready" message ever couple of weeks (he's lying).

Jason once told him "I really miss it when you were emotionally stunted" and Bruce just looked at him and quipped.

"You're the ones to told me to get therapy."

- Bruce doesn't actually go to therapy he gossips with Harley and they call that therapy.

Because Harley tricks him into sessions mid gossiping.

And it is in fact, better than nothing.

- Terry became Batman as an annoying 17 year old for the exasperation of every adult of the Batfamily.

- Damian and Tim we're the one's who trained him, Bruce unfortunately was hospitalized at the time (he's better now).

- Damian trained Terry in martial arts, combat and streets smart skill and Tim helped training him on how to proceed with the criminal forensics part.

- Duke and Steph kept an eye on Terry in his first months of patrol, Terry kept trying to get away from them to do whatever he wanted but Tim or Damian would always eventually catch up to him.

- That doesn't mean he stopped trying until he made all four of them age ten years of stress.

- They let him do it whatever he wanted eventually, but mostly because they knew he was ready.

- Steph just did on purpose.

- Damian rarely would actually join Terry (or any of them) on patrol because he prefers working in the shadows.

- The day Terry successfully tricked all the four of them into leaving him alone he almost had a heart attack because he immediately bumped into no one less then Nightwing and Redhood.

- Red Robin was the one to call them.

- Terry and Jason got along so quickly it's infuriating.

- Terry is a great Batman, he is skilled and witty which puts almost every criminal off rithm.

They hadn't got this that amount of stress ever since Dick's robin.

- Jason works as a literature professor in Gotham public school.

- Jason was Terry's teacher for a while.

- Terry hated it.

- Terry got to school with patrol bruises once and when Jason managed to get a hand on him he cussed him out for 45 minutes.

That's how he learned that Tim and Damian forgot to teach Terry how to hide them.

Then he cussed them out for 84 minutes holding Terry's shirt the same way you hold a wet cat.

A penny for my Penny thoughts? 🤭 sorry, I had to haha

Well first of all Penny is best girl, let's get that out of the way first 😊 She was one of the first characters I started befriending and I think she's just so sweet. From what we can see of her home life with her mom and what she briefly mentions about her dad, she's led a pretty sad life up until now. :c Her always reading books seems like a way to escape that, but she's still very level headed and grounded and responsible. Like being parentified but she doesn't even have any other siblings. 😭

I love how despite that, she doesn't let it get her down 🥺 She's so eager to help everyone and see the good in everyone, and to strive for a better future for everyone. Even for her mom!! You'd think she would resent Pam but she doesn't, she does long for independence but she very much cares about Pam despite how badly she treats her 😭 she is just a saint, frankly.

As for headcanons, I love the idea of her and Maru getting together eventually 👀 It starts with Maru asking her about the book she's reading and then doing that thing that extroverts always do to introverts: sitting with them and talking to them until they start to wear down the introvert's shell 😄 At least I interpret Maru as an extrovert, she came across as very outgoing to me but she's just busy with her experiments and tinkering. I'd like to think of them sitting together and talking about books, and then maybe Maru starts to invite Penny home for dinner a few nights a week 🥺 It's a little bittersweet for Penny because her family has ever been dysfunctional, though Maru's family is a bit dysfunctional too in a different way, but she still appreciates it all the same. They can watch the stars together and bask in the great wide universe outside of their teeny tiny town.

I'd love to see Penny open up her own school eventually too 🥺 In some other NPCs' dialog it sounds like there are some other small towns in the valley too so maybe kids from there can commute in for lessons too? She's so passionate about learning and about creativity, and she's just so eager to share that with others!!

I'm not kidding, he goes all out. Tonight would be even better however, and Jervis was sure to stand by that.

He had taken an entire 5-star restaurant hostsge for you both. They were all hypnotized anyway, no harm done! However, one was acting rather odd.. Probably nothing.

You were greeted with a patio dinner. Wooden arches above you covered in roses and fairy lights, lit candle in the middle of a round table, and a sever with a bottle of wine ready to serve you both.

If you don't drink, he quickly sends it back in exchange for a sparkling grape juice.

"Isn't it wonderful, my dearest? You and I.."

"And batman."

"Hm, yes- Wait whauh?"

Jervis turned around. Sure enough, the bat was walking toward him. "Jervis Tetch.. Civilian." The bat nodded to you.

"It is rude! To arrive uninvited! You! ANIMAL!" Jervis kicked and groaned as the bat picked him up and threw him over his shoulder like a sack of flour. Apparently that oddly acting employee wasn't under his hypnosis and called for the bat. Jervis really needs to fix that bug..

Most dates consist of bailing Jervis out from some crime he committed in the name of romance.

"I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?" This stumped you even further.. the only thing you could think of was right under your nose.

"A map!" You immediately grabbed your phone and connected every place you had been. A large heart. You wanted to smile, but a large hand grabbed at your shoulder. "Going somewhere?" Ah shit. The questionmarks must've set off some citizens.

There goes yours and his plans for the evening.

She won't woo you with flowers, fake or real. However, that doesn't mean she can't be romantic.

Pamela took your hand, blindfolding you in the process. "You trust me, don't you my lily?" Her voice in your ear like the sweetest honey.

As you walk, you begin to smell certain things. Dirt, plants, floral scents.. wait a minute.

Taking the blindfold off, you're in a greenhouse! But wait, Pam doesn't have a personal greenhouse..

"So I may have taken hostage the Gotham City Conservatory for tonight. What? Do you expect anything less from me?"

You don't. Kind of why you love her.

She sits you in front of a Greek style fountain, the vines picking you both up to hang in the air as you sat.

You both talk and talk for hours on end, though it truly only feels like minutes. Your day, what you both want, the future. It's full of cuddling and kisses by the end.

However, Pam begins to pull away. You can see her looking around in annoyance. "We have a visitor.."

Yep. A large man in a batsuit. "Hello, batman" She waves, gently putting you back on the ground. "Let me deal with this, My Lily. I'll be right back."

I just came back from a day round-trip road trip with a friend sooo... take my headcanons about going to Zuzu City with the ✨️businessmen✨️ for a day trip!

[DISCLAIMER: These are romantic leaning headcanons for the two rival businessmen in Pelican Town. As with all my headcanons, they're based off my modded version of the game which in includes Stardew Expanded and the Marry Morris mod. These also being under the pretenses that Caroline eventually leaves Pierre (thus making him a bachelor again) because she deserves better... With that being said, please enjoy!]

🌃 Morris:

● He will make sure you know you won't need to pay for anything

○ He'll even let you ride in his purple panther

● No food or drinks inside though, that car is his baby, dude

○ The trip will consist of casual chit chat and him venting about Joja Mart and his employees and even give you the juicy gossip of what some of the customers are up to

● "Oh! Dear, you'll never guess who stopped in to buy some makeup Pierre doesn't carry for her daughter..." (He'll give you a hint, it wasn't Pam or Robin...)

○ He'll ramble on and on about his days in the city when he was still in college, just starting off at Joja Mart, or when he lived there (that is, if you two were married and he was living with you on the farm at this point)

● He will tell you all his favorite places in the city, most of the restaurants and shops are rather upper-middle or high class though

○ Once in the city he'll make sure you're always at his side and help to ease any anxiety with his confidence in having lived in the city for a while

● "Ah yes, this is the café I used to frequent when I was still merely a grunt for Joja Mart. Heh, did you know they sell spiked drinks here after 6?" He'll lean in and pull his glasses down as he asks this, giving you his sly smile that only a fat cat like him could pull off

○ He'll take you through the shopping centers and insist you pick something you like. Oh you want that shirt? He'll make sure to buy you pants that'll go well with it. And while he's at it, why not get a tie or some other accessories to make it complete? And don't forget the shoes as well! Oh, that's made from the finest silk? Perfect, nothing less for his dearest companion.

• At the end of the day in this city he'll ask what you're feeling like food-wise

○ No matter what you say, he'll have the perfect place

● "No need for worrying about the price" He'll assure you as you're looking over the menu

○ And when the night starts closing in? He'll take you on a walk in the most gorgeous part of the city

● Before you leave he may even rizz you up a little by throwing some cunning lines your way

○ "You know it's funny, in all my years of living here I'd never thought I'd have someone so gorgeous to share it with." Or whatever else he may have the opportunity to say

● While getting back into his car, he'll open your door for you. Both because he's a gentleman but also because he doesn't trust anyone to open and close the doors of his fancy car

○ He'll make sure your comfortable, have everything you want or need, and drive you both back to your farm

● "This was the best day I've had in a while, thank you (Y/N)." He'll say after arriving back at your place, leaning in to leave a soft kiss upon your lips.

🌇 Pierre:

● This man leaves the trust-box (as I call it) for any passive shoppers and GETS GOING

○ "You got everything you need? Phone, keys, wallet?" He'll go down the checklist with you like he's taking you on a vacation for a week or something.

● He has every possibility budgeted for

○ Once the tickets are paid for, you two will hop on the bus to ✨️Zuzu City✨️

● On the bus ride there, you two will talk a little, he'll discuss his plans for his store, sales, etc- just make small talk with you

○ Eventually you two will reach the city and from there it's go time

● "So I was thinking we could start the day off strong with coffee from this café I read about in the paper a few weeks ago. Then we should be able to take a cab to the museum and then-" He'll go on and on about the plans he made to a T.

○ You'll only manage to actually do like... three of the 6 or 7 things he'd planned. But the important things were tackled!

● He'd insist on avoiding shopping and rather go more for sight seeing and memorable experiences instead

○ He'll take you to a café first, as promised (that poor man desperately needs his coffee), then the museum, and then after that he'll take you on a walk through the park

● Between the museum and the park, time will pass rather quickly for you two

○ Without a doubt, he'll always at one point or another manage to either wrap his arm around your shoulders or (depending on your height) use your shoulder as an arm rest

● As your walk in the park turns more into just sitting and talking in the park, his eyes are ever-tired yet surprisingly attentive as he listens to your every word

○ He'll look down sadly as the conversation comes to a lull. "Hey, (Y/N)... I know I haven't gotten the chance to say so yet but... I just wanted to say thank you for helping me through my divorce with Caroline."

• This would lead to a more intimate moment between the two of you before you two realize how hungry you are

○ He'll suggest convenience food from a fast food place or pizza. But if he knows you also enjoy seafood he'll try to not-so-subtly suggest a few different restaurants in the area

● "I've heard great things about this place. ... Hm? No, I'm sure it'll be fine. For you, I don't mind paying extra for a nice meal. You have to treat yourself once in a while, right?" He'll assure you with a soft smile.

○ At dinner, you'll order as if you were paying for yourself, since he usually insists on separate checks due to financial reasons, not to mention he's too proud to ever let you pay for him... even if you are more financially stable than he is

● But when he gets up and asks if you're ready to leave when you've finished your meals and had a delightful time together, you can't help but ask "what about the checks???"

○ ...That scumbag secretly paid for the both of you when you weren't around. (And yes, he also left a nice tip for the waitstaff)

● He'll hold your hand as he guides you back to the busstop

○ "So, how did you like our day together?" He'll glance at you with cunning eyes and give your hand a gentle, loving squeeze

● The bus ride home ends with your head on his shoulder as you drift off to sleep on the way back to Pelican Town

○ This man will bring that day up for years to come, always reminiscing on it like it was one of the best days of his life

The novel opens by telling the audience that Jumpei Niki's case has gone cold after being missing for 7 years, and so he's been officially pronounced as dead. The majority of the novel details him trying to find some way to escape the pit, but the audience knows its hopeless because of how the novel begins. He eventually decides to stay when he realizes that he's just as free in his life before the hole, as in his life after. Aside from the obvious claustrophobia being used to comment on the metaphorical claustrophbia of modern life, and the plot of a man choosing to live his life in a small collapsing cabin in a hole on the beach, sand is an ever-present motif. The roof in the cabin is broken open and there's no where to fully wash up, so the sand is ever present, caking itself to their sweaty skin. They have a single umbrella that hangs over the well so that the water doesnt get muddy. They have to sleep with a newspaper over their faces to avoid inhaling any sand and fully nude so that the sand on their bodies doesn't chafe at night. There are constant, grotesque descriptions of the sand coating their skin, mixing with their sweat, crunching on their dry lips, shifting whenever they move and so on. It doesn't need to be a leitner to make me feel like their is a disgusting amount of sand on my skin, but turning it into a leitner wouldn't help."

it   always   felt   good   helping   others   in   small   ways   ,   be   it   with   a   smile   after   service   or   a   short   conversation   at   a   church function.   helping   others   has   always   been   his   sort   of   calling   it   seemed   ,   &   people   gravitated   toward   his   help   &   sought   him   out   whenever   life   took   a   turn   for   the   worst.   even before   he   joined   the   priesthood   ,   he   really   enjoyed   offering   his help   to   others   ,   but   the   kindness   he   shared   would   eventually   lead   to   deeper   feelings   &   drag   him   down   a   hole   that   became   almost   difficult   to   really   get   out   of.   that's   why   the   priesthood   is   really   so   good   for   him   in   the   long   run.   now   he   can   focus   on   helping   others   &   there's   no   mess   in   it   ,   &   he   can   fully   focus   on   others   without   having   to   ever   think   about   himself or his own long list of problems.   it's   better   this   way   ,   he   thinks.   it   makes   things   less   complicated   &   more   peaceful   for   him   ,   albeit   a   bit   fucking   lonely.

Delicious Party Precure (Final Thoughts)

(Bro, chill).

Now that I have gotten through another Precure season, allow me to share some opinions.

Prior to watching this, my first impression was honestly not too optimistic when it originally aired. Kirakira Precure a la Mode also had a food-related theme, albeit more on desserts than actual cuisine. Nonetheless, I had a quota and this was the most recent completed season available; it was bound to happen.

With 45 episodes, this is another short Precure season (alongside Healin' Good), although it works. The plot basically has our protagonists protecting Recipepes from being stolen by the Bundoru Gang. Exactly what are these "Recipepes"?

(Great. I'm getting Healin' Good vibes again, but without the Furi.)

Answer: These adorable food fairies that are subjected to getting kidnapped in almost every episode. They actually belong to three different groups: rice, noodle, and bread. That's where our fairy mascots come in as the protectors of these groups.

Kome-Kome is the main "marketing" mascot (and Cure Precious's partner) of this season (and ends up being the youngest of the three as the story progresses). Obviously, she doesn't talk much at first until later on when she gains power and eventually gains enough strength to lend a hand with the cures. Of course, this is a fox-like mascot, which I adore.

(Fuck, they named one after my aunt. WTF Toei?)

Then, there's Pam Pam, Cure Spicy's partner. She's my least favorite (and not because she's a pompous ass). The writers did not try hard enough to convince me that she is better than the other two; which sucks because I'm a dog and bread lover. *sad face*

(Crunchyroll, it is prounounced "men" not "mem").

Men-Men is the dragon-like mascot partner for Cure Yum-Yum. This one is quite interesting for saying "WONTON" every time Ran transforms. He's a good boi; in fact, my middle nephew is now in love with him and demands plushies. I quite like the dynamic between the two the most for having that savory connection.

Plus, Men-Men has a cool human form.

Now, let's look at the cures:

Yui Nagomi / Cure Precious

The main protag of the four, Yui sure does love eating. Her late grandma was the reason she became so passionate for food (there is a slight backstory explaining this in a later episode). Her family owns a restaurant that houses these...maneki-nekos (I'll come back to this later). She is quite a fighter, delivering a devastating punch (500 kcal, then 1000kcal, and eventually, 2000 kcal power). I did admire her demeanor, being a wonderful leader.

Kokone Fuwa / Cure Spicy

Contrary to her partner, my feelings are the opposite for Kokone. There's something about her that immediately said "YES. THAT'S THE MISSING KICK IN THE MOUTH I'M LOOKING FOR IN A BLUE CURE". She's not Karen Minazuki levels of cool, but still freaking cool and Spicy had great defense that worked well in offense with the BREAD ROLLS.

(Give me a moment to savor the mental warmth that is bread).

WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? Kokone brought some calming traits that I enjoyed and overall class.

Ran Hanamichi / Cure Yum Yum

I've never in my life wanted a yellow cure that brought literal charisma and flaming passion (and I bet there's one before her that I forgot).

Ran oozes so much life, I don't even know if life can handle her. Her dynamic with Men-Men was one joyride down a noodle coaster and into some Lo mein paradise...or General Tso sauce.

All food pun aside, I've had my eye set on her even before watching; I swear she and Rin Hoshizora would make good "Ramen buddies".

As for Yum Yum, noodles as cutters was a clever way to go. I also like the design, even if it feels a bit awkward at times; however, it works for the idea of a traditional Chinese background. Now that I think about it, I don't even know if it was confirmed if Ran was Chinese-Japanese to begin with. (Surely, someone mentioned this in an interview).

(Student council president with diamonds on her head and yet Arisa Komiya was not considered...but I'll take another Ai.)

Amane Kasai / Cure Finale (formerly Gentlu)

OOOHHHHHHHHH. I WANT TO TALK ABOUT AMANE FOR A BIT.

During her villain arc, Gentlu had this aura of a frosted strawberry pop tart: once you warm it up, it tastes great. She was this sad frosted strawberry pop tart left sitting in a wrapper, waiting for someone to open it and put her in a toaster of love.

Once she became Cure Finale, I started having mixed questions about her drastic hair color change. She barely qualifies as a purple cure in design, despite the rest being multicolored. At this point, the rules in Precure are starting to unravel a bit with the color coding.

Unlike Precious, Spicy, and YumYum, Finale has a sweet motif; even Amane has "amai" or "ama" in her name, which means "sweet". It makes sense for someone who works in a sweets parlor.

Side note: her unofficial mascot partner is a parfait Recipepe that acts so ritzy-titzy it's hilarious; only Pam-Pam and Men-Men can understand it.

As for the Bundoru Gang, I felt they were a decent bunch.

Narcistoru and Spiritoru were pretty strong; Secretoru in her civilian form was more entertaining and I wish the writers would have done more of that earlier in the show. Then, there's Godatz, who [spoiler alert prevents me from revealing a lot so this censor is all you're getting].

Moving on to some other opinions:

The OP is a literal earworm; it feels refreshing to hear a more cheerful, upbeat score.

The next to last episode had one of the most hilarious, absurd climaxes to a final boss fight I, in my opinion, ever witnessed.

The movie was surprisingly good for the most part, although Cait Sith was a hell of a movie villain with a somber backstory. When he went AWOL, I was just speechless.

(The STAPLE of Oishina Town became the deus ex machina and I couldn't keep my composure.)

In the end, yes, Delicious Party Precure, despite my doubts on a food motif, actually impressed me with how it was executed. It surely was more entertaining than Tropical Rouge, but not enticing enough to leave a mark as a favorite. It has some odd moments, but, this is a season involving food and also etiquette; what were you expecting? A five-star lore to come out of it???

Anyways, this is definitely one to check out if you're passionate for food. I would even consider this to be a good starting point if you've never seen Precure at all (alongside Smile, Fresh or Maho Tsukai).

With that being said, thus ends my yearly Precure season quota, even though Otona Precure 23 just started. As for the rest of the year, it has already been decided on the schedule. The Wheel has now finally been put to rest and hope to God I do not use that thing again.

We are having a baby

Graduation was drawing nearer, however somewhat Dorothy felt not really well.... she wanted to focus on the practise for the big last exams but instead she often had to get up and go to the bathroom feeling bad... at first she thought it was just some sickness she caught, laying back in her bed as Pamela came in.

"Oh still feeling sick?"

"Duh, or do you think I like laying around and not being able to finish this fucking stuff."

She sat down next to her and looked.

"If you go that much cause of your stomach maybe you should ask the nurse?"

"Not in the mood..."

Pamela sighed... even if they became better friends and Dorothy slightly improved she still barely shared things about her...

"Say did you meet your Boyfriend lately?"

"Didn't I tell you to not call him that... but yes I did... why?"

"You tried a pregnancy test?"

Dorothy suddenly went shook... Pamela usually was supposed to be the dumb one but she would know given she often been carefull about things... and so she followed her offer and did it soon after... only to get angry at the answer. As she came out she looked mad...Pamela looking at it seemed very excited.

"Dory is gonna be a mother, I am so happy!"

"This is horrible, why are you so happy... that fucking idiot I.... I need to leave."

"Wait Dory, not... you will rest.... I will call him here, alright, you can't strain your body..."

Grumbly she waited untill eventually the door to Tetravania bursted open and Aenian walked quickly to her side...

"Pam told me you are sick... are you fine?"

Quickly he felt a slap against his cheek and Dorothy getting off from her seat.

"You idiot... this is why I told you to hold off that one night! Thanks to you I have to deal with this during the exam!! And not only that you never asked me if I wanted to have kids!"

He rubbed his cheek and then took one of her hands sitting down with her.

"Well do you?"

"I.... always was afraid of it... that somebody just get me pregnant and leave me in the dust... hence I never actually wanted it."

"But you are not alone... I will help you.."

"What?..."

He showed a teethy grin at her.

"I am to blame so I might as well take responsibility. Dory I also promised you once school is over we will be together right."

"Aww." Pamela gasped behind them with tears in her eyes as Dorothy seemed grumbly again and threw a pillow at her.

"GET OUT!"

She quickly closed the door and Dorothy continued.

"Fine... I guess I have no choice... but if you try to run from it... I will drag you back by your ear."

He pulled her closer into a kiss... her heart was calmer now.... maybe it was best to be more honest from now on... after all they are in this together now.

JESSE HOWARD 41 • open occupation • one degree • boyd holbrook nearly twenty-five years ago, jesse and pam -- along with four others -- survived one of the worst nights of their lives, and in the history of slaughter holler. though there are few people who know the particulars of that night, or who chose to believe the survivors, jesse and pam do remember -- often vividly, often... well, often. for years after the fact, the slaughter holler six were only really able to rely on themselves and one another, though even that tended to be a tenuous thing. even so -- for jesse and pam, their connection was one rooted in kindred spirits and somewhat similar backgrounds, their shared trauma only serving to push them closer to one another as things got more and more challenging. it wasn't healthy, by any stretch of the imagination, but it was... the closest to happy either of them had been in a long, long time. while i would like to collaborate on why they might have split up, the long and short of it is that pam eventually reached her breaking point -- with the town, with her family, with being constantly reminded of what was one of the most traumatic nights of her life. when she skipped town, fresh out of high school, she probably wasn't aware that she was pregnant -- but she found out quickly enough, and neglected to get back in touch with jesse to tell him. whether fear (that maybe he didn't love her enough to step up, that he wouldn't want anything to do with the baby -- not entirely rational, but here we are) or pride or something else altogether, she kept that secret. since leaving and having her daughter, she's done a lot of growing -- and i expect that jesse has as well. he eventually left slaughter holler as well, off to find something better and new, escaping slaughter holler just as most of the others did (that is to say: physically escaped, but emotionally? psychologically? questionable). how he moved on with his life is entirely up to player interpretation -- and how he feels about coming back to slaughter holler is also up to you! currently: complicated swirl of feelings regarding pam, and understandably so. she ran away from him when there was nothing in him that needed running from, hid her pregnancy from him, didn't really give him the chance to get to know his daughter during her most formative years... but still there lingers that connection, that spark, that drew them together in the first place. whether it results in anything long-lasting is entirely up in the air and up to plotting/threading -- at the very least, i do want him to be a part of holly's life, however awkward and tentative it might be. for him and pam -- there is a lot of love there, but the question always remains as to whether love is always enough. where they're concerned, i am interested to find out.

• Movies during lunch breaks soon turned into guitar/banjo lessons and sometimes you both would sing along with the tune together

• Just as you started thinking things between you were getting a little more serious, you were nearly devastated after Erin showed up to replace Pam’s position as receptionist

• Jim was your best friend in the office, and when how upset you were about this, you both go in together to play a prank on Andy. Jim believed how Andy’s sudden change of heart seemed to be made for Erin now, he thought it was immature and came up with the idea to pull off the perfect prank on him

• There are times when Andy is the most vulnerable

• The prank was to fill a bucket of cold water and sneak up behind him to dump it on him, the both of you holding the bucket over his head couldn’t have gone any better than planned

• It was during Andy’s break, you and Jim took a break to do this and it wasn’t a boring reaction, it was better then expected

• Walking back inside, everyone was greeted with a soaked Andy and began questioning on what happened

• Creed pulls his phone out and snaps a picture of Andy, which Andy takes notice in before making a comment

• “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” Of course he says so in very noticeable sarcasm on his agitated voice

• After the breakup with Erin, Andy comes to you for consoling

• At first you wouldn’t listen to him. But after hearing him sigh in disappointment, you started feeling the guilt tripping on you before making your way out to follow him outside

• But first, you couldn’t go out there without coffee

• After getting the coffee cups, you find Andy sitting on a bench outside in the freezing cold and there, you sit quietly, sipping your coffee as you’re listening knowing full well that he possibly deserves your listening ears, you couldn’t find the heart to ignore Andy

• You both eventually get together in the end

• It’s a happy ending for you both after getting things worked out in your new relationship

• Andy trusts you completely as you do him, but Andy getting even the slightest jealous goes unnoticed by you

• You sometimes take the time to tease him about it and he playfully gets defensive about it

• While watching movies together, you sometimes have to hold him for comfort if it’s a sad film, seeing him cry was strange to you

Random drabble 2, Fairy strange

Prompt: A main character is transformed into a fairy. Characters: Roxy, Richter (Originally ‘main villain’ but I can’t see either of these characters being evil. So let’s get some RnR)

Getting past the inevitable panic attack and legitimate terror, Richter found his new perspective on life interesting. He’d already enjoyed hiking and mountain climbing. He even had fun from time to time. And learning to use his new dragonfly like wings to well, FLY was pretty amazing.

Only, he’d flown himself right into the window of a neighbor he didn’t actually know. In a moving vehicle, and now he was in a mechanic’s shop. Never in his life had Richter feared vacuum cleaners before, but there was a first for everything.

“Wait wait HANG ON MADAM!” He clung to the seam of a fabric covering with vigor. Something was on his side, because the hell vortex that was the mighty shop vac stopped. The woman wielding it eyed the diminutive man with outright confusion.

She gave a long suffering sigh and grumbled. “It’s going to be one of those days, isn’t it? Hey little guy. Uh... Nothing personal there with the vacuum.” She was quick to offer a hand out though she wasn’t really sure it was the appropriate response.

Still he climbed happily into the red head’s hand without her asking, and sighed. “It’s all good. I think a tiny person in the vehicle isn’t typically a mechanical issue anyhow.”

“Typically no. So uhh, no fairy curses?” Roxy used as much care as she dared with the tiny man. She wasn’t self conscious about much, but the rough texture of her well worked hands were one of those things. Especially now that she was supporting a whole person in those hands.

The man just gave a half chuckle. He shouldn’t have felt so at ease being toted about like a pet mouse, but there he was casually observing the  scenery. “No nothing like that. Couldn’t even if I wanted to.”

“Ah So uh... Do you like tea? Maybe cookies?” Roxy shielded the man from the view of her employees until she passed her receptionist. The woman blinked casually up from her paperwork and opened her mouth to ask.

“INTERDIMENSIONAL BULLSHIT! I’m on break!” That was the only explanation she could give her friend. It was the only one she needed to. They’d both seen enough of it. From actual breathing dragons, to fish flying in the sky. They’d lived it long enough to just not question each other.

Richter on the other hand, had thirty questions. He’d lived in the small town for only a short time, and he’d only just met this woman. She whisked him away into a break room, and locked it,

“Uh. Cookies sound good... I haven’t really... eaten. Does this kind of thing happen often around here?” He pointed back to the door with a little surprise. Perhaps this could be his ticket to returning to normal size.

Roxy placed a few cookies down for the small man and dropped into a well worn, yet still comfortable chair. “Yeah, ever since that weird library showed up and ate Pam’s house, we’ve had a lot of weird stuff happen. Now apparently fairies in cars.”

“I mean, does it make you feel better to know I was human before two days ago?” Richter broke a piece of cookie off, dipped it in it’s filling, and munched contentedly on it.

Roxy groaned and dropped her head into her arms. “I’ll... talk to a lady about a spell on that. Do you need help until then? Like with food and stuff?”

“Probably. Though I’m not really sure what to ask for. Maybe something to sleep on and-” Richter perked up.

Roxy listened as long as she cared to, to the small man’s overthinking. Eventually she scooped him into a loose hold, cookie and all. She made a soft little place in a cabinette and left a small fake candle in there. She didn’t fully ignore the man’s protests, but she did partially do so.

Once Richter was set in place, he turned to see her put a finger to her lips. “Look, we’ll hash it all out when I close up shop. For now, don’t make too much noise, there’s cookies and water, some clean shop rags for sleeping. There will be a sign so you’re not disturbed, but don’t make human sounding noises okay?” He only nodded in response.

Roxy shut the cabinet and left a sign saying ‘bat trapped inside, do not open. Animal control called.’ After that, Roxy just focused on fixing cars and yelling at belligerent clients that stuff made sense.

Richter on the other hand, was having a hell of an internal war about possibly staying a fairy. Life was just... handed to him with sugary goodness. Perhaps being little wouldn’t be to bad. Especially as he could fly where ever.

Minecraft Log Chapter 3: Finally completed a house for once in my life

Let's start this log off with me finally showing off that house from Chapter 1, now that it's finished! No more rain for me, and just in time because surprise, I lied, this is still me complaining about Apotheosis.

Oh, no, the consequences of my actions.

See, even vanilla MC has a scaling difficulty in mob spawns as you stay in one place. Lot of Youtubers don't really get a chance to show this in any way, because it'd make them look bad if they hadn't dealt with the problem ahead of time, but it exists. And of course, our Favorite Mod of Destruction amps this up with its boss mob spawning. The lightning that summons them was only like once a night, with them despawning real damn fast early on, but now I get about three or four in rapid succession and if it's a zombie (and it usually is) it can see me from double the usual range and will just relentlessly stalk me.

So, uh... the house I've finally finished is great. Doors seem to still make them lose where you are, thank god, and it just looks nice. :)

This is the formerly crappy cellar from Chapter 1, now way better now that I've replaced the main body with actual stone brick. Columns from the Builder's Addons mod and a hanging lantern from Macaw's lights help a ton, and I adore both these mods! Once I actually use them in a significant way, I'll be sure to show y'all.

More importantly, I've marked some stuff down. See, I called this a cellar for a reason; Once I move all my storage crap into the proper buildings, I'm turning it into a straight up wine (juice) cellar. The fruit arrow leads to a small orchard that'll have some nice trees that'll make nice ciders and other assorted juices, and I've dedicated space for some farmland in there so I can have the Pam's Berries as well!

The mines are walled off, too. I'm gonna have a proper crafting / smelting hall down in the little valley between the new orchard and this cellar, and it'll lead directly into those infernal mineshafts I dug up in Chapter 2. The stupid things just never end, but at least I haven't had to make my own oak fences in a while and it makes for a decent quarry alongside the massive amount of coal and iron.

Finally, I've made a pretty stumpy granary whose roof looked way better when I was up there building it. Thing's short on purpose, though, since it actually expands underground pretty cozily! I'm planning to eventually hunt down an ice ocean or, if I'm really lucky ice spikes; That'll let me dig down and create a refrigerated level for crops that would normally spoil irl. There's still plenty of room up top for the room temperature stuff.

It's not shown here, but I've also got a pretty large cow field started on the hillside behind me from this angle. You could probably see the space in Chapter 1, if you really wanted, and it's still there with a nice little stair platform leading downwards to it all. I'm planning to make two small buildings connected to it later, for a breeding pair of 'em, alongside even some pigs and sheep. Pam's sure likes its meat!

There'll be a butchery inside the hill too, of course, but don't tell them that.
