I was asked to tell more about the holidays in my legacy gameplay, so here is a super long and detailed post on the subject! 😊

How I use holidays in my game

I used to hate the holidays, cos I saw them as something my sims had to participate in and there was always so much pressure to complete all the traditions! But then I cracked it...

Holidays are a great way to add objectives to gameplay! When every day is some kind of a holiday with its own theme, there's always something for my sims to do.

I tick the "day off" box only if the holiday is a major one or the traditions would feel too rushed if my sim worked on the same day.

I try to have a lot of outdoor/traveling holidays in the spring and summer, and more home lot based holidays in the autumn and winter.

For some holidays, I add a diverse set of traditions and then choose only one or two to complete every sim year.

Sometimes my sims are just too busy with other things in life to participate at all. The No more "awful holiday" sad moodlet mod (linked below) is super useful because it completely takes the pressure off of completing holiday traditions!

It's very refreshing to use custom icons for the holidays, it matters more than you'd think! I use the More selectable icons mod (linked below) for this feature.

More holiday ideas

If you want to create your own holidays, but struggle with coming up with ideas, here are some things I always consider when I create holidays.

Can you match a world with a season? Summer holidays in Sulani, winter holidays in Mt. Komorebi, etc.

Alternatively, have a summer holiday in Sulani when it's winter elsewhere, a winter holiday in Mt. Komorebi when it's summer elsewhere, etc.

What if you took the default holidays and placed them in a different season? Celebrate Winterfest on the beach in the summer!

Can you match a world with a theme? Nature holidays in Granite Falls, city holidays in San Myshuno, etc.

Think of a simple theme for your holiday (games, sports, food, animals, books, etc.) and choose traditions based on that.

Create a holiday that requires your sim to travel from world to world to complete all the traditions.

Have a 3 day holiday for a vacation trip, with different traditions to complete each day.

Create holidays for specific life stages. What would a teen or an elder sim do for their holiday?

Create a holiday for each occult type. How would a Spellcaster spend their holiday?

Can you think of a way to combine holidays and clubs?

Put two really different holidays right next to each other so you have lots of variety in gameplay.

If you're playing a legacy, create a holiday for each heir sim based on their personality, and have their offspring celebrate these holidays to honor them.

Research real life holidays that are celebrated around the world to find new ideas.

1. No cases of cancer caused by HPV in Norwegian 25-year olds, the first cohort to be mass vaccinated for HPV

"Sorry, but you know how these meetings go. Every year one of us Nordics have to join these things. This year it's your turn, (C/n)." The said country cringed as Finland used her country name. He only used it on her when the argument was over or she made him mad.

"I know... Let's hope this ends well." She sighed, a little terrified of the meeting.

'8 of the strongest World powers will be with me in that meeting room... let's hope I won't be forced to sit between Russia and America again.' She gulped, finishing her call with Finland.

"It doesn't help that all of them hate me, too."

"And you smell odd today... Did you use some cologne?" The Japanese asked.

"And why did you insist for our Nordic guest to sit so close to you? I thought you found Sweden scary, frog." England added in.

"What are you talking about, old friend? Sweden is a nice guy, I want to get close to him."

Russia and Germany sent him looks of disbelief, but before either could say anything, America let out a yell.

"France, dude?! You really are so uncool! How could you do this to me?"

"What?" England blinked, looking between the duo.

"What are you talking about?" France asked innocently, but America shoved the paper into his face.

America glared at the French nation. France, angered by his last sentence got up and glared right back at America.

France and America shuddered for a moment and the ominous aura surrounding Russia. And before another fight could start, Germany, England, and Japan spoke up. The trio was jealous and pissed as well by their comments, but they couldn't cause a fight now.

"Calm it down, all of you." Germany commanded.

"You all are acting like immature kids." England frowned.

"Let's all just take a deep breath for a moment." Japan suggested. The group slowly nodded their heads and one by one sat down. After a few minutes China spoke up, looking menacingly at France.

"Yeah, you have been acting off ever since you sent that invitation to Sweden." Now it was England and Japan's turn to look at him in confusion.

"I might... might not have invited Sweden this year... hahaha."

Now, France was usually a smug and calm person, but he knew this revelation would make room for a hellfire not even he wanted.

"What do you mean by that?" Germany narrowed his eyes.

"Acho!" (Y/n) let out a small sneeze as she walked down the streets of Paris, utterly confused as to where she was.

"I got lost...didn't I?" (Y/n) muttered to herself, getting her phone out to check her location.

'This is bad! If I am late, Germany will be pissed at me! And if he is pissed, he might berate me! Oh, I am so dead.' The nation gulped as she looked at her watch.

"Bella! I didn't expect to see you here!"

The girl jumped in surprise as she heard a familiar voice and quickly turned around.

"Italy?! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the meeting by now? You are always there early with Germany and Japan." The Nordic nation commented, sighing in relief that she wasn't the only one late.

"Oh~ I wanted to get some food before going. Here, take some~" The Italian said happily, handing her a few pastries he bought.

"Ah? You shouldn't give me these." The girl blushed, surprised by his kind gesture.

'But... Italy has always been like this to everyone.' She argued herself as Italy shook his head.

"I want you to have it. I tried some of the sweets in the bakeries already, so I am full. Besides..." Italy grew shy a little, but still kept his usual closed-eyes smile.

"I bought them for you. I remember you told me and China once how you don't eat prior to our meetings."

"Y-you remembered that? That conversation was years ago." (Y/n) blushed a little in embarrassment, but was touched by his gesture.

"It was important enough to remember!" Italy argued.

'He is such a flirt... well, he is a country of passion and romance, if I recall correctly.' The girl smiled gently and nodded her head.

"Thank you, Italy. It's really kind of you. But you came all the way here to buy me food?"

"France said the best bakeries are here. But why are you here? Yesterday I saw that you would be in our meeting too, this place is pretty far away from there."

"I... I kinda got lost." The girl said, genuinely sounding embarrassed. Italy blushed at her cute behavior and nodded his head. Without any warning, the European country took her free hand and started dragging her to a nearby parking spot.

"I-Italy, don't grab people like that!" The other country scolded him, but knew it was futile against him.

"Bella, don't worry. I will drive us there. I did come with a car, after all."

The words caused (Y/n) to sigh in relief for a moment as she thanked Italy for his help. But, that relief soon turned into panic as the words finally sunk in.

'Italy... will drive me?' She gulped as the approached the sports car.

'I should have prepared a will.'

Italy, oblivious to her panic, held himself back from skiping and humming in happiness. He finally gets to spend time with his beloved (Y/n) without anyone interrupting him.

"We will be there in no time!" The Italian said enthusiastically.

"Y-yay..."

'Is this my karma because I ate Iceland's pudding last week?'

"So... you invited (C/n) and not Sweden and decided not to tell us, right? Did I get that right?" Although Germany looked and sounded calm, France could tell the blonde was far from it.

"Surprise." The French nation laughed, pissing the rest off even more.

"You backstabbing frog! Why wouldn't you tell us this sooner?!" England yelled as America held him back from jumping the country.

"Yeah, what even was your plan here? Did you want to impress her or something?" The youngest country asked.

"My dear friend, I don't need to try that hard. (C/n) can tell I am a better pick without me even trying much."

"What do you mean by that?" Japan asked the French country.

"Women love a man who is honest with his emotions, romantic, and most importantly, can cook." The final being more a jab on England than anything.

"Hold up! That would include me, too! I am always honest with her!" America yelled in protest, earning disapproving looks from Russia and China.

"You yell, America. That doesn't mean you are honest. Besides, she always said she likes my cooking more." China laughed as he got a nasty look from Japan.

"Well, in that case she must like me more. She always compliments my cuisine and likes listening to my interests-"

"Same with me! What now?!" The two Asian countries glared daggers at each other while Russia was smiling menacingly at them.

"I think I would be a better fit for the sunflower. After all, we both grew up in the cold and I can also protect her better-"

"Russia, you scare her. You are not a better fit." Germany sent a side-glare at the platinum blonde.

"Same for you, old friend."

The once calm room turned into a screaming match between the nations. Neither noticing Italy and (C/n) walk in, looking at them in astonishment.

"Ve~ let's skip out on the meeting and go get food instead."

"I-" She looked at the Italian man and then at the rest, a feeling of defeat taking over her body.

'Why did I agree to this? I knew I should have stayed in self-isolation! Denmark will pay for it!'

Sirius Black X reader!!Potter

Summary: In which Sirius arrives at the Potter's house injured after the fight with his mother and Y/n wants to take revenge. But can his girlfriend really beat Walburga?

Part 2

MASTERLIST

The Potter twins were still awake in the big house. Since it was summer vacation before returning to Hogwarts, Y/n and James always stayed late when it was Friday or the weekend.

And even though it was summer, cold and heavy rain fell from the night sky.

James was sitting in front of the lit fireplace, just to provide a light. While Y/n was in the kitchen of the house looking for some goodies to share with his brother while they played boards.

Euphemia and Fleamont were already lying in bed, but they were probably each reading a book before they were really sleepy.

"At those who hunderstand that love deserves respect, and not your sordid meaning" Y/n hummed a song from his favorite Muggle band, while picking up the packets of snacks and sweets to take to his brother.

Y/n tried to walk quickly to the room, but ended up dropping some packages on the way.

"Hold here, I'll go get the rest that fell." She places the packets of candy in front of her brother and turns to go back to the hallway that led to the kitchen.

Y/n was still humming as she walked to the hallway, but was interrupted by the loud bang on the back door of the house. Specifically the one in the kitchen, which gave access to the backyard.

Y/n quickly gathers the packages on the floor and places them on the nearest table, before picking up her wand that was stuck in her hair and walking to the kitchen. With the wand always in front, to protect it.

Again, another big thump was heard by Y/n, making James ask what was there where he was.

"It wasn't me, stay there" she says, but James was already on his feet. A little afraid to follow her sister, but still going to the kitchen.

When the girl saw that the kitchen was free of any being, she saw a tall silhouette through the door. The person or whatever it was was huddled as the rain fell violently outside.

Without much thought, he grabs the door handle and opens it. So his eyes widen when he sees who it was.

"Love???" She says in a surprised tone, while Sirius tries to smile, but can't.

He was soaked from the falling rain, and if you looked closely, his eyes were wet too. He cried a lot until he got there.

"Come in, dear" Y/n gives Sirius space to enter. She puts her hand on his shoulder before closing the door, but he shudders.

Y/n frowns but doesn't question much.

"What is happening?" James asks from the hallway still.

Y/n helps Sirius sit on the bench near the table and his twin responds:

"It's Sirius"

James quickly enters the kitchen and looks at his sister, who just shrugs and looks at her boyfriend who had his head down and was sometimes sobbing.

The twins are worried and James sits in front of his best friend.

"Sirius, what happened?" James asks and Black just shrugs and cries.

Y/n approaches from behind and hugs her boyfriend's shoulders, while he cried.

"Honey, if you don't want to tell us that's okay. But we want you to get it out so we can help you" She places a soft kiss on his shoulder. Which was covered by his rain-soaked shirt. "And we know it was your family who did it!" She says a little more harshly and Sirius lifts his head and looks at his girlfriend.

With red eyes from crying.

"It was them, wasn't it?" Y/n asks and he nods in agreement.

Y/n closes his eyes and sighs deeply.

She knew what Sirius' family was like, she already consoled him a lot before they even dated. He even witnessed her a few times when she was at Grimmauld place, when she was going to visit Sirius.

There was even a time when she faced Walburga face to face. In fact, it was more than once. But Sirius only knew about that time when Y/n pointed his wand in his mother-in-law's face and spat horrible words at her.

But it doesn't seem to have helped much.

"Let's go to the room" Y/n informs.

When Sirius gets up from the bench, he lets out a groan of pain.

"Siri?"

"I-I'm fine" he says quietly, but Sn furrows his eyebrows. But it doesn't say anything.

James and Y/n exchange a look.

"Okay, I'll call mom and dad and get some clothes for you Sirius. I'll be right back!!" James says and holds his friend's shoulders, but Sirius again groans in pain.

As James walked up the stairs, Y/n stood behind an armchair while Sirius stood in front of the fireplace, wrapping his arms around himself in a hug. While he was a little shrunken.

Y/n knew that Walburga or Orion Black had bewitched his love. It wasn't normal for Sirius to groan in pain every time someone touched him.

"Sirius" she says and he turns around slowly. "You're hurt, come here" she comes out from behind the armchair and approaches Sirius, but he shrinks.

As if he was scared. Not afraid of Y/n, but afraid of everything that happened.

Y/n's heart broke when she saw him moving away from her, in fear.

"Siri, it's just me. Your Y/n" She says sweetly and his eyes fill with tears. "I won't do anything bad, you know me. I want to help you, you're hurt!!" She states.

When she looks away from her boyfriend's face, Y/n directs her gaze to his hands. They were very red, they looked like they had been burned.

The air catches in Potter's throat and a sob escapes her mouth as she sheds a tear from her eyes.

She didn't know she was holding on until she fell.

With that, the couple hears James, Euphemia and Fleamont quickly descending the stairs. When they arrive in the living room, they observe the taller boy near the fireplace and Y/n near the sofa, as he struggles not to cry loudly and make Sirius feel even more depressed.

"Sirius..." The Potter mother says, as she approaches Sirius, who now wasn't so scared. But still, he shrank.

"Father" Y/n says looking at his father and lets out tears of despair.

Fleamont looks worried at his daughter and then approaches her, wrapping her in a hug to muffle her cries of despair.

Sirius looks at her worriedly, as if he had done something that made Y/n's heart break. But it wasn't his fault, never was and never will be.

"James, help your mother with Sirius. I'll calm Y/n" He says quietly as he wraps his daughter in a side hug and takes her to the kitchen.

James just nods and approaches his best friend in the clothes he brought for him.

Upon arriving in the kitchen, Fleamont places Y/n sitting exactly where Sirius was a few minutes before, while she cried in despair and the air barely reached the Potter girl's lungs.

"Father!!" She says it again, as if she wants it to stop and her Sirius will be okay. She wanted this to be a nightmare and that when she woke up Sirius was fine, without injuries or a heart that was broken by his own family.

"I know, my dear" he bends down in front of his daughter and runs his hands affectionately over Y/n's back. "It's difficult to see and witness this. I understand you"

Y/n releases the tears more violently now, as he struggles to say something that is burning his vocal cords. She was angry, she was angry at Walburga and whoever had done this to her precious Sirius.

She might as well leave the house now, in the middle of this rain and go to Grimmauld place and kill that cow that was said to be Sirius' mother.

"This makes me angry!!" She says with her jaw clenched. "I never understood their anger towards Sirius. I don't understand why they would do this to a person who only deserves love and affection. Sirius never did anything but be himself, and no--now he's here, all hurt and with "Afraid. Frail" Y/n sobs in the middle of the sentence, but the tone of anger still appears, as he looks down the hall and sees a glimpse of Sirius being helped by James and his mother.

Fleamont lets out a solitary tear.

Everyone there loved Sirius, he had spent several vacations and holidays at the Potter's house and when Y/n said she was dating him, it was back in the 4th year of Hogwarts. The joy seemed to be even greater when Sirius appeared at the house.

So yes, it was difficult to see him being mistreated in the most cruel way, since he was always a kind and sweet boy to everyone. Even with the family that hated him.

"I could..." Before Y/n can finish, they hear a scream coming from the room and Fleamont and Y/n's eyes widen and look into the hallway.

James comes running and appears in the kitchen.

"Sirius is really hurt, we need your help dad" James says in an almost desperate tone.

Fleamont looks at his daughter, who now had her hands on her face as she sobbed again with tears.

"Stay with your sister, I'll help your mother with Pads" Fleamont says by his nickname and runs into the living room, while James walked to his sister who was crying.

He sits next to the girl and runs his hands over the twin's back.

"I don't even know what to say," James says in a whisper.

"There's nothing to say, Jamie" Y/n says between sobs and removes his hand from his face. "This was beyond what we thought could happen" she gestures with her hands in anger. "I might as well go out in this damn rain and show up at Grimmauld place and hex that bitch." Y/n says angrily and stands up from the bench.

"Y/n, you--"

"I'm going, you don't do that to the love of my life." Y/n says as he picked up his shoes next to the door about to leave. If it weren't for James holding her from behind.

"No, no!!!" She scolds her. "I know how angry you are feeling, but you can't do this. As much as you want to" He holds on tighter as his sister struggles in his arms.

"JAMES RELEASE ME!!" She screams as her brother takes her away from the kitchen door. "I NEED TO KILL THAT BITCH!!" Y/n says angrier as he struggles against his brother and cries even harder.

Euphemia and Fleamont who were in the room helping Black stop what they were doing. While Sirius' body becomes a statue when he hears "I need to kill that bitch, you don't do that to the love of my life".

And in the kitchen, Y/n was still trying to get out of his brother's arms to go to Walburga and curse her until he lost his strength.

"Y/n, I need to see her..." Sirius says as he tries to get up, but Euphemia sits him down again, to heal his injuries.

"Honey, stay!! You need to take care of the burns" Euphemia says as Sirius cried, but now he was worried about Y/n. "Mont, go see what's going on with Sn and James. I'll take care of Sirius!!"

Fleamont gets up next to his wife and runs to the kitchen, to see James holding Y/n from behind while she cursed Walburga and struggled in her arms to leave the house.

"I swear to Melim that I will study the Avada spell just to kill that bitch!!" Y/n screams, now losing strength, but still wanting to get out of his brother's arms.

Y/n was a sweet and kind girl, but she had short patience. And when someone messed with the one she loved, the person was practically dead. She would follow centuries after centuries until she knew that person was in her state.

More deplorable and close to death. Euphemia and Fleamont always said that their daughter's second house was Slytherin, because it was a cold person when he wants to be and determined.

Which wasn't a defect for her.

"Y/n!!" James says, but nothing makes her calm down.

James sees his father arrive in the kitchen and start crying while trying to hold Y/n so she doesn't leave.

"Dad, now I swear to Melim that I'm about to let Y/n leave to go after that bitch!! Look what she's doing, Sirius is all hurt and now my sister is upset about all this" James cries and Fleamont approaches.

"I know, son," he says, before switching places with James and holding his daughter. "Y/n, listen to me!! Please stop!! You can't do anything right now, let's just stop this and take Sirius in. He needs you, now get yourself together and go see your boyfriend!!" He says quickly and Y/n stops squirming in his arm.

She wipes her tears and leaves her father's arms. Y/n looks at Fleamont and James before leaving the kitchen and going to where her boyfriend was.

Hours passed and dawn had already fallen, Sirius' injuries were healed. Well, those more superficial ones, the deeper ones Euphemia would take care of throughout the week.

At the moment, Y/n was lying with Sirius in the room he was in. The brunette was sleeping with his back to Y/n, but still on her chest, as she caressed the taller man's scalp.

She was still awake. Y/n looked outside when the rain gradually subsided.

Potter looks at her Sirius and it looks like he has gone into a deep sleep. With that, she puts her boyfriend's head on the pillow and takes care to get out of bed and walk downstairs.

Arriving at the front door, Y/n grabs the black cloak she had, puts on her boots and grabs her wand before leaving the house.

Before going to the place where she decided to go, she takes one last look at the two-story house and puts the cape on her head as she walks to the destination that awaited her.

After walking for about 40 minutes, she arrives in front of a large multi-story house.

Stopping in front of the mansion, she could notice that the person she wanted to meet was already waiting for the girl.

Y/n removes the cap from his head and holds his wand pointing at the person, ready to bewitch them to death. Y/n's pupils were so dilated that anyone who knew her would be scared of the girl at that moment.

"I knew you would come, sweetheart!!" Walburga says with a menacing smile on her face as she slowly descends the stairs.
