Random Number (Upcoming Series)
Pairing: Adult!Bakugo x F!Reader
Summary:
Bakugo Katsuki's phone beeped as he received a text from an unknown number. Feeling curious about the contents of the message, he unlocked his phone and opened the text to find an unexpected list of grocery items. Perhaps it was a wrong number or maybe someone was playing a prank on him.
Warnings: None. Ya’all know I don't write stuff like that! Haha!
PROLOUGE ————
Y/n had put in a lot of effort throughout the week and was eagerly awaiting her paycheck. She had been looking forward to her evening, filled with relaxation after a long day at work. The idea of having some quality 'me time' was exciting, and she couldn't wait to indulge herself by staying up late and binge-watching her favorite series on Netflix. She had also planned to treat herself to some delicious food, which would only add to the enjoyment of her well-deserved break.
"Hey, Y/n! Do you want to join us for some Shabu-shabu?" Y/n's colleagues asked her.
"That sounds like fun, Mika. But I already have plans for my evening. You know, some 'me-time' would be nice," Y/n replied.
"Haha! Well, you deserve it after this hellish week we've had. You're probably the hardest worker here," Mika responded playfully.
"Oh, shut it. Haha. Well, I'll be off now! Say hi to everyone for me and have fun with the team!" Y/n giggled as she picked up her bag and waved goodbye to her colleagues.
As soon as Y/n got out of the building, she rushed to the nearest cash dispenser and withdrew a good amount of money from her account to pay her bills and buy groceries for the month. She had worked overtime the previous week, and she felt pleased that her hard work had paid off.
Humming happily, she walked towards the supermarket, enjoying the cool breeze of the night. When she reached the store, she fished her grocery list out of her bag, only to realize that it was missing.
Panic set in, and Y/n started to rummage through her bag in search of the list. She even planned on flipping her bag upside down, but it was nowhere to be found.
Frustrated, Y/n muttered under her breath, "It's not here. I must have left it at home." She pondered for a moment about what to do next. She could either go back home to get the list or try to remember the items she needed to buy.
Finally, Y/n decided to use her phone to make a list of the things she needed to buy. She hoped that she could remember most of the items, but she knew that she might forget some of them. She sighed and muttered to herself, "Hopefully, I still remember some of it."
Without wasting any time, Y/n pulled out her phone and opened the messages app instead of the notes. She swiftly listed all the items she required and then hit the send button. However, she immediately noticed that she had left the contact details empty. Not wanting to waste any more time, she quickly typed in her number and hit send again. Unbeknownst to her, the last digit of her number was incorrect.
"Hey Bakugo, I'm so pumped up! Our dine-out is going to be epic!" Kirishima exclaimed with unbridled enthusiasm as he met up with a scowling Bakugo, who was already bundled up in a thick scarf to protect himself from the chilly weather.
“I'd rather spend time alone than be with you idiots,” Bakugo said under his scarf.
“Aw, come on bro. We’ve rarely got this chance,” Kirishima insisted. “Besides, today is the only day we’re all free!”
“Tsk.” Bakugou only said in response.
As they started walking, there was a sudden sound of "ding" emanating from Bakugo's device which caught their attention.
“You should check that out. It's probably something important,” Kirishima pointed out and continued walking.
“For god’s sake," Bakugo said with a hint of frustration evident in his voice, as he reached for his phone in his pocket.
Tumblr media
Bakugo's eyes widened in disbelief as he read the message. "What the hell?" he blurted out, scanning the text again. His mind raced as he tried to make sense of it. Could this be some kind of sick joke? “Is this a prank?”
Kirishima glanced at Bakugo's phone and asked, "What's up, bro?" After reading the message, he snickered and said, "I told you it's important. And let me tell you, strawberry milk is amazing. Don't be shy about enjoying it." He teased.
Bakugo's voice boomed with anger as he shouted, "Shut the hell up, Shitty hair!" His outburst drew the attention of everyone in the vicinity, causing them to turn and stare at the source of the commotion.
“A-ah! Sorry about that! That's just nothing!” Kirishima apologetically said to the people looking at them. “Bakugo! Keep it down will ya!”
"Whoever this person is, is screwed!" Bakugo exclaimed, clenching his jaw.
“Hey, hold on a minute. What if that person is an elderly woman who’s unfamiliar with using phones?" Kirishima suggested. "Also, have you thought about how it might affect your reputation if she finds out you're Dynamight? Think about this carefully, man.”
“Tsch!” Kirishima's reaction might seem excessive, but he has a point. It's best to just let it be.
————
Upcoming series? Does that mean sluggish uploads again? Haha. As you all know, the series I'm currently working on is coming to an end. Only two chapters more. 👀
See you again in my next series! 😘

ぐちゃ ! (Splat!) [Yoru x F! Reader] [4]
Heya everyone!
Just a quick note; if you spot a random 'You' halfway through a sentence, it's supposed to be 'Yoru' but it keeps getting autocorrected and it doesn't stop NO MATTER WHAT SETTINGS I CHANGE.
Anyway, that's it, have a good one!
❤ฺ·。
Yoru x F! Reader
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 4.5 / Part 5 / Part 6
Genre: Fluff, a tiny amount of angst. Very tiny. Trust me.
Synopsis: Hapless doesn't even begin to describe you. With your life flipped upside down within the span of a day; you're left to rely on your best friend Tala to help you pick up the pieces and build the new one forced upon you. And this 'luck' seems to have caught the attention of one of her friends.
。+❤ฺ·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ· +❤·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ·
At first, you thought Neon was being dramatic when she talked about how the contingency of you having your own room was a terrible one. You had to have your own private space after all, right? You were a bloody adult.
Unfortunately, having your own space also meant that you were free to cuss and rant in Tagalog all you wanted while throwing your belongings around in a skewed sense of ‘organising’, or whatever ran through your mind at the time.
And that’s exactly what you’ve been doing since you escaped Omen’s sight.
Who the hell did Yoru think he was? That’s the question that you kept asking yourself, furiously grabbing your blanket and airing it. You knew his type. The ones who think they’re entitled just because they helped you a few times? And even then, you didn’t ask for his help! He offered it! So why was he getting on his high horse?
Gah, it was all just so moronic, you thought as you set the blanket down and folded it to properly fit the small bed.
You didn’t notice that, over the course of the past few minutes; your voice increased in volume and so did the loud thuds as you threw your items around. Which is the reason why two knocks on the door interrupted your incessant fury.
With a barely audible screech, the metal door slid open to reveal, thankfully, a familiar face.
“Oh, hey Neon.”
“Hoy, what’s going on here?”
You sighed and walked off to your vanity desk, organising the magazines you tossed.
“You heard that, huh?”
Neon laughed, already stepping in and running her fingers through the painting you had hung up. Delicately, so as to not ruin it, though. You were already pissed enough and god knows that she could tell.
“You don’t know how thick the walls are here, huh, Y/N–” she shook her head, “sorry, A/N.”
Just as you met her gaze with a smile, you were quickly pulled into a hug. So quick, the tufts of your hair barely even had time to settle as she tightly wrapped her arms around you.
“By the way, welcome to the team! I’m so happy you’re finally with us!”
“I’ve been here for a week, dummy.”
Despite your sarcastic remark, you felt all of your anger melt away in an instant, promptly hugging her back.
God, she was just the cutest.
“I just thought I’d give you the welcoming nobody else was going to!”
Nobody else, huh? That phrasing reminded you of a certain someone. Neon quickly pulled away. And immediately, just looking at her incredibly amicable round eyes stomped out any lingering hint of wrath you felt. And you couldn’t help but grin at this sight.
“Neon, seriously, what’s going on? Did everyone leave and you just have nobody to talk to?”
“Well, yeah, but since we have free time, we get to do something!”
Wait, she wasn’t joking?
“They’re actually gone?”
“Technically, they’re in a meeting right now. We’re just not a part of it.”
Your eyes widened in surprise. How come there wasn’t even an announcement? At least some chatter from the others as they made their way there? Is that why it was quiet enough for Omen to have heard you and Yoru arguing?
“There’s a meeting right now?”
“If you don’t know about it, then it means that you’re not gonna be in whatever they’re doing. Wanna go see?”
Before you could even open your mouth to answer, you were already pulled to the empty hallways and forced to march down with her, her grip on your left wrist as hard as it always is. But this time, after all the training and the way Harbour would slap your back as a way to express his joy, safe to say that you were definitely used to it.
On another note, your shoulder blade definitely had a crack in it somewhere.
“Wait, wait, where are we going?”
“To check out the meeting room! I don’t think you’ve ever been there, yet!”
With how silent the hallways were, you could hear your very steps echoing. And it made sense after what she told you.
However, this silence would allow you to listen in on a very distant yet muffled voice in just a few seconds. And with how harsh the tone was, its recognisable pitch, you could tell it was Viper before you could even make out one word.
The closer you got to the meeting room, the more audible her voice was. And just like that, you both found yourselves moving towards a wide open door, the only source of light coming from the centre of the table, projecting something to them as Viper explained whatever.
Both of you took a peek inside to see what the fuss was about. But it was hard for you to get a look at the model of the building they were examining, seemingly surrounded by a body of water. Not when everyone sat in a circle around said table. You began glancing at many agents you both recognised and didn't recognise.
There was Phoenix, Jett, Gekko, Skye, and…
Yoru.
“Ugh.”
“What?”
You cleared your throat, forcing a smile, but not without questioning how Viper tolerated such a man’s presence, not when he sat like he owned the place. Slouched on the chair, arms crossed, completely uninterested.
“I mean– is it, uh, is it usually this dark?”
“Not really. Whenever it’s dark like this, it means something serious is going on. Me and Sage actually made a little rhyme for it whenever we’d see Viper or Brim mess around with the light switch!”
As she went on her little tangent, your eyes bore into the back of Yoru’s head with unrelenting anger. God, he just looked so punchable.
“It goes like this; if there’s light, then the workload’s light! If it’s dark, then you better get ready for some dark stuff! It’s not creative, but we were making up songs while we were surrounded by a bunch of rocks and had to wait for a rescue.”
Only after you observed the way his hair moved upwards did you realise that Harbour sat amongst them. Uh oh. He was in on this mission, too? That means you won’t be able to talk about this bomb thing you discovered until he gets back, right?
“A/N?”
“Yeah– I was, uh, I was just listening to what Viper was saying. Freaky stuff.”
“I know! I wouldn’t want to be Yoru right now, but he says he’s used to scouring things near the deep ocean.”
You scoffed.
“Yeah, sure. Whatever he says. So, what’re we doing until they’re back?”
You met her gaze. And of course, she beamed with a smile, her brown eyes glimmering under the harsh lights above you.
“So, A/N, since we both have free time and money, you wanna go do what I’m thinking we should do?”
“Uh, I don’t think I should be wasting–”
“Hoy, don’t be such a wuss! We’ll finally get to buy you that makeup you always wanted!”
Though you perked up at this, it quickly died down once you had another reason not to do this.
“No way, what if we–”
“We have time, money, freedom, and no rent to pay. You’re out of excuses and coming with me.”
Before you could retort, she grabbed your wrist and pulled you down the hallway once more. And, of course, with her contagious joy, you couldn’t help but also share her excitement for this trip.
It’s been a while since you had the freedom to dress the way you wanted. Wait, scratch that, you never really had said freedom unless you slept over at Neon’s house as a teen... Huh, maybe she was right. With how everyone else around here dresses, what’s the harm if you decided to wear fishnet stockings, right?
❤ฺ·。
Most of the agents left the meeting room excited, chatting with each other about the plans they'd set and what they're going to do. Mostly, however, about the unique location of the base. Even Harbour was excited, even though he had every right to be since it was in the middle of the ocean.
However, surprisingly enough, Phoenix wasn't one of them, following Yoru with an incredibly sour expression. Unable to read the room, he didn't realise the Japanese wanted to be left alone.
"Nah man, there's no way Viper took me out of the mission so quickly! I got cheated!"
"Phoenix. It's a base surrounded by water."
"And?"
"And the section we need to get into is submerged in water."
"So what?! Fire can still be useful!"
Yoru stared at him with a blank expression, before walking away. And Phoenix immediately followed. As per usual, with a preposterous counter-argument ready. If he could, Phoenix would burn an injured person if it meant he’d somehow be able to heal them.
"Wait wait, hear me out, I heard from somewhere that if you put fire on ice, it burns instead of melting 'cause of some chemical jargon. What if, by some force of nature, the same thing happens to the water?"
"You'd just be boiling it, idiot."
"Oh, come on. You're making it sound so useless!"
Yoru stopped and met Phoenix's gaze, both of his hands in his pockets.
"Why don't you go check if Neon has something planned?"
There was a reason she, Sage and Jett always had those outings, she was the mastermind behind all of them.
"Nah, no chance, fam. I saw her and A/N leave before the meeting was over, she's gone gone."
Already? Yoru thought, before shaking his head and both of them continuing down their path.
"Then go shoot some bots, or something. I have stuff to do."
"No way! After the shouting match I heard there, I ain't touching that spot until tomorrow."
"Tch, what? Shouting match?"
"Yeah, fam. Shouting match. Omen and I were chilling in the lobby and we heard shouting from there. Dunno what was up, but..."
Phoenix then remembered a key detail. Didn't Yoru tell him earlier that he would be training, and that's why he was unavailable most of the day? Then that meant… He chuckled to himself.
"Wait, was that you? Mate, how feminine does your voice get when you’re mad?"
"Did you just compare my voice to A/N's?"
"Wait, that was A/N? Why was she yelling?! Nah, there's no way you started an argument with her! Weren’t you just getting along?"
Disinterested in the conversation, Yoru took out his butterfly knife and began flipping it, its clacking sticking out against the moderate silence around them. Getting along is a stretch, he thought.
"Put down the tinfoil hat, Phoenix. There wasn't an argument. I just told her what was on my mind."
"Mate, what's on your mind can make the bloody president resign! Remember when you obliterated Sage for a small mistake?! I swear I saw her cry!"
"For the last time, she was sweating. And what's wrong with telling her to quit being passive?"
"That's not harsh?"
"She agreed with me, idiot."
"Look, I get what you mean, but I still think you should be nicer with your words, you feel me? A/N's kinda sensitive, unlike me."
Yoru immediately stifled a chuckle and cleared his throat.
“I’m already nice in one way. I’m not slathering my words in honey.”
“Mate, you’re hopeless.”
And with that, Yoru had no further retorts or desire to continue such a fatuous conversation.
But just because he shut himself up doesn't mean he didn't have ammunition upon ammunition of counter-arguments. And the most important among all of them; this was Valorant, not some daycare. People here should be used to harsh words. Thankfully, he was one of them, which is why he was unconcerned when you snapped back at him.
Nevertheless, he took a turn and walked down the hallway, their shared path dividing into two.
"Whatever. I'll see you after the mission, Phoenix."
Phoenix stared at him walk down the corridor, crossing his arms. And as per usual, despite his concerns, Yoru absolutely did not give a damn. It was evident just in the way he’d walk.
Maybe Phoenix should apologise for you, or fully scold him when he gets the full story.
❤ฺ·。
For the first time in a while, the fresh air of the outside world freely filled your lungs like mystical fairies sparkling some dust of serenity in you. And though it matched the one on the island you’d frequent for training, this one was different. This air was littered with a sense of peace.
You had been out shopping for the past few hours, with nothing to worry about. Not money, not anyone, nothing, other than keeping an eye on Neon so that she doesn’t stray too far away and leave you alone. It was a record for you to go so long without stressing about anything, at this point.
“You know, now that I think about it, that bracelet kinda adds to your look, doesn’t it?”
You held up your arm and lifted the long sleeve up in confusion, staring at it in the mirror. Of course, angling yourself in such a way so that the other customers couldn’t see what was going on. And you could definitely understand what she meant.
“Oh, yeah, it does.”
She stepped up behind you, both of her hands behind her back as she sported a cheeky smile. Did you even need to say anything to know she had something in mind? You flinched once she pinched your loose plain shirt and lifted it up, almost like she was grossed out.
“Jeez, this plant is so metal and stuff, your outfit is so boring in comparison.”
You rolled your eyes with a smile, waving her away.
“I know, you don’t need to say it.”
“What do you think of this?”
As if it was on cue, she immediately lifted a charcoal black top, its design carefully formed to fit the shape of a dainty hourglass figure. High quality, multiple patterns delicately laid throughout alongside a few buttons that helped it pop, it was so pretty. Without wearing it, you knew it fit you, and you already imagined what to connect this with.
But it wasn’t before you immediately shut this idea down.
“Neon, I’m not wearing a corset again!”
“Why not?! It’s not like anyone will say anything!”
“But it’s too much! I think I’ll just go with the choker this time. Maybe next month I’ll come back and get this.”
You pointed at the simple black choker you held. And immediately, you were met with an unamused expression.
“This doesn’t even have a pattern on it.”
“I wanna take it slow. What would Harbour say if I showed up in that?”
She giggled, putting the corset away.
“The guy dances with death every single day; seeing you in knee-high boots is not gonna do anything to him. Right…?”
You blushed, jokingly shoving her away and turning to the shelves where the chokers were set.
“Tumahimik ka! He’s like, forty!” <Shut up!>‎
Neon laughed, refusing to take her words back.
Then, one choker caught your eye. One with a heart in the centre, holding the whole thing together. Right next to a spiked one you considered getting, it was irresistible. And you flinched once Neon suddenly snatched it, observing said spikes.
“Why not this one? It looks cool.”
You rolled your eyes, putting back the plain choker in favour of the one with the heart. Then, you stepped away from the shelves, looking around for the cashier. It reminded you of Yoru.
“I don’t like spikes.”
“What’re you talking about? You wore spikes all the time.”
“Not anymore. They look like they’d hurt.”
Neon cheekily smiled.
“Yeah, duh! Yoru has these gloves with spikes on them. And once, I saw him punch someone with it, I think he got a scar on his cheek from those spikes!”
You threw her an expression of disgust, before walking down the aisles and towards the cash register you found. Neon took the choker with her and followed, intentionally holding it with her left hand so that it would be hidden out of your sight.
“Neon, that’s so crass.”
“But fighting is crass! You think we look like pretty ballerinas when we’re on the field? No way, we look like animals!”
You smiled and met her gaze.
“I’ve spent my entire life working in customer service. Nothing can shock me after that.”
Neon set the two chokers on the counter. Unlike you, she didn’t bother to look at the cashier as he worked, watching you take out your wallet.
“Oh, right, I forgot. Didn’t you work in a salon once?”
“Don’t remind me.”
You both continued chatting as you purchased the items. And being so distracted with whatever she was saying, you didn’t even notice that you were also buying the spiked one, the worker setting them both on a plastic bag.
And with a smile, he handed it to you, both of you immediately making your way out of the store.
Within the next few seconds, you already had the heart choker wrapped around your neck, angling your somewhat-messy bob so that it would cover some of it from the passerby. It felt uncomfortable for the first few seconds, but you quickly got used to it once you saw your reflection on the nearby window. And pretty was an understatement.
Neon scrutinised you with a wide smile on her face.
“I can’t believe it, you look less like an NPC, now!”
Before you could retort, Neon’s phone buzzed and she quickly pulled it out. And immediately, she began rapidly typing back, her smile falling considerably fast.
Her sudden wide eyes immediately concerned you.
“What’s up?”
“I, uh– we should go back.”
“Why, what happened?”
“Phoenix’s telling me the mission went south, they’re hurt! We have to go back and check on everyone! Come on!”
And with that brief yet sufficient explanation, she grabbed your wrist and rushed down the sidewalk; bits of her electricity cracking with each rapid step.
You were pulled away faster than you could comprehend, now forced to share her panic.
❤ฺ·。
You came back to chaos.
The area was filled with the panicked voices of your fellow co-workers, most of them standing in the hallways just outside the infirmary rooms. Each door closed, and there was no sight of the two healers.
“I can’t find anyone!”
Neon called out, the unnerving atmosphere clearly getting to her. And you couldn’t blame her, not when each voice was louder and less recognisable than the last, everyone clumped together into one blur of various colours in the medical wing. None of them were people you knew.
Then, you heard a distant voice, high pitched, babbling in a language you couldn’t understand. But you knew you heard that voice before.
“Do you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
Gah, there’s no time.
You grabbed her wrist and moved through the crowd, mumbling an apology with each person you gently pushed. And with each step, that voice had gotten louder and louder with every room you passed.
But it promptly went silent.
Just as you ushered a blonde man out of the way, suddenly, the door on your right violently swung open to reveal Sage, holding a dishevelled Jett close to her.
“Jett! Jett, what happened?”
Neon quickly rushed to her friend, but you noticed how the door was immediately slammed shut behind them, giving you no time to see what else was inside. Jett responded to her question, but it wasn’t a coherent string of sentences, Sage patting her back in reassurance as a teal aura wrapped around her hand and the Korean’s left shoulder.
“She’s gravely injured. Just give her a minute.”
Both of you noticed how she clutched her right bicep tightly, an odd discoloration blocked by her hand. And with her white skin, the harsh pink was obvious despite Sage’s efforts to heal her. With the way her sleeve was violently ripped to bits, a deep black painting the edges, it was concerning.
“What happened? Who’s in there?!”
“Follow me. We need to get her to a quiet room.”
And with that, all four of you made your way down the medical wing, moving towards an empty area.
You gently shut the door as Sage quickly worked on healing Jett, the discoloration slowly shrinking to a more manageable size, enough for her to be able to fully cover it from you and Neon. And both of you noticed how, despite her shock, she really wanted to keep it concealed. But only Neon had the guts to speak out.
“How bad is it?”
“Third degree burns. It was much more gruesome when it first occurred, but I have it under control.”
“Third degree burns?”
Sage met her gaze, strands of hair sticking out in a disorderly manner, alongside the sweat that dripped down her chin. In every sense of the word, she was exhausted.
“I’ll tell you later. I just need to get this fixed, urgently.”
You nodded, understanding what she meant. With the injury strong enough to put Jett in shock, you could tell why she didn't want to explain right next to her.
"Is everyone else okay?!"
You piped up. And thankfully, you both earned a nod.
"We managed to escape before the base completely exploded. I'm not even sure what happened."
"How? You weren't there?"
Jett winced once Sage's hands wrapped around her arm, forcing her to stop holding it so tightly. And despite you both now being able to get a clear look at her arm, there was only a blotch of light pink that slowly shrunk as the healer worked. It looked less gruesome than the glimpse you got just minutes before, thankfully.
And it seems like she’s gotten calm enough to be able to form sentences.
"I– I think I need a drink. Uh, Neon, can you help me out?"
"Sure, no problem."
And with her support, Jett and Neon left the room, walking extremely close side by side so as to keep the Korean from losing her balance.
Immediately, just as the door shut, your eyes darted over to Sage's.
"What happened, exactly?"
Sage took a deep breath, grabbing the nearby rolling stool and taking a seat. One more second, and she knew that her legs would've buckled under her weight.
"I’m not sure, I wasn't with them, but I know something went wrong. When I arrived, Jett had a massive burn on her arm and Yoru was disfigured. From what she told me, sections of the base were falling apart."
Disfigured…?
You watched her rest her head on her hand, taking a deep breath.
"Is, uh," you started, nervous, "Is Yoru okay?"
"I– I think… he's stable. I have to go check in on him, nevertheless."
Sage suddenly stood up and immediately aimed towards the door, the conversation cut short. And just as she went to leave, you quickly caught her attention once more.
“Wait, is there anything I can do to help?”
She met your gaze, weakly smiling.
“Water would be great. But make sure you knock first. I’ll be right next door.”
You nodded. And with an even wider smile, she promptly turned on her heel and took her leave, heading towards the Japanese.
With a sigh, your mind drifted back to Neon and Jett. They should be in the cafeteria, right? She mentioned something about water. Maybe you should go there as well.
❤ฺ·。
The serene silence amidst the HQ was flipped on its head. Now, despite escaping that constricted hallway where constant words dripping with anxiety were exchanged, you still felt tense. What happened to Harbour? Skye? Was Jett okay, even after she was healed? What about Sage? She looked absolutely spent. And…
What about Yoru?
A loud clunk snapped you out of your trance, and you blinked to find yourself in the doorway of the cafeteria, Neon standing right over the sink, a glass being filled up with water in her hand. Just as you arrived, she turned off the faucet and faced Jett, neither of them catching on to your presence as they chatted. Their tones low and melancholic, it only added on to the intensity of the general situation.
Jett seemed to have calmed down, judging by her relaxed posture as she took the glass from Neon. There, she noticed you, weakly bringing up her good arm to wave.
“Hey, A/N.”
You waved back, awkwardly smiling.
“Hey… are you doing okay?”
“Yeah, I’m alright, I was just telling Neon what happened. By the way, did Sage say anything about Yoru?”
You approached the sink, taking out a glass and washing it.
“Uh… She said he was stable. I’ll give her the water and check in for you.”
“Thanks, you’re the best! Also, nice choker.”
You smiled to yourself, muttering a ‘thanks’ whilst you worked. Even in complete anguish, she somehow managed to notice it and even compliment it. What a sweetheart, you thought.
The water loudly swirled in the glass as you filled it.
“Is everyone else okay?”
“Nobody else got hurt, just me and Yoru. And he got the worse end of the stick, by the way.” She rolled her eyes, bringing the glass of water up to her lips. “Of course it’s us.”
“Seriously, what happened to Yoru?”
“I’ll tell you when you’re back.”
You groaned, turning to look at them as she gulped down, presumably, the second glass of water.
“Come on! Sage won’t tell me, and now you won’t tell me?”
To be fair, she didn’t know what happened.
“It’s– it’s awkward for him, okay? I don’t want him to get mad if I told anyone! And it’s not like I told her, all Neon knows is that a pipe burst on my arm!”
“What?”
“Yeah, straight through! Burned like hell!”
Now you knew why she was so desperately trying to cover her arm. It must’ve looked so grim.
You let out a huff, noticing the look of genuine concern over Jett as she explained. And it wasn’t the fact that she was hurt, more-so about Yoru, and how he’d go ape on her if she said anything. Like that mattered in this situation.
“If this is how all missions are gonna be, then isn’t it fair that I should know?”
Neon awkwardly laughed. Clearly, she hoped you wouldn’t bring that one specific point up.
“Okay, A/N, wait, I know this all looks bad but I swear, not all missions are like this. This only happens, like, once in a blue moon!”
“And that moon came up right after I–”
Oh, right. Luck.
You held up the glass of water, a few droplets falling to the ground.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.”
You promptly left with the glass, heading back towards the room where Yoru was. And your mind was slowly dipped in turmoil with each conversation you had. Sure, Jett was shocked, but she clearly came down from it and was ready to talk.
God, how big of an ego did Yoru have, and why did everyone just accept it?!
You sighed and took a turn, working to push these thoughts off of your head.
Yoru was hurt. Seriously hurt, by the way they talked about him. You shouldn’t be holding a stupid grudge when his life was in danger. Maybe, just this one time, you could give him a pass…? Until he gets better, that is.
❤ฺ·。
The rest of the day, even after it ended, wasn’t easy for anybody. The lingering aroma of death still haunted the halls even after the break of dawn and you were marching down the hallways alone. Out of everyone, you carried the most burden. Mentally, that is.
Yoru was completely unconscious. You were sure of it.
Even though Sage didn’t let you in the room after you’d given her the water, the entirety of the day went by without a single sound from him. And you watched that door like a hawk. Only Sage left that room, but there was no sign of the Japanese.
You couldn’t help but think, was this all your fault?
You remembered how people back home would avoid associating with you because of your luck. After Neon befriended you and disappeared without a trace, your reputation was set in stone.
And with what just happened, were they wrong not to think otherwise? According to Neon, this never happens. And Yoru, after insulting you, was subjected to a horrible fate.
Was he even–
You stopped in your tracks once you saw a familiar figure sitting at one of the tables of the cafeteria. Back turned towards you, you recognised him by the spiky hair.
“Yoru?”
You called out, concern bleeding into your tone. He turned around, glancing at you from the corner of his eye, before looking back at his food.
“Hey.”
You quickly moved up towards him, laughing awkwardly. Relief overwhelmed you like never before at the sight of the grumpy Japanese. Just seeing him alive in front of you, it was cathartic. And wearing a plain white tee, you would’ve never guessed it was him, either.
“Yoru! Juskó, are you okay?” <Yoru! Oh my god,>‎
He ignored you as you approached his left, not turning his head all the way to meet your gaze. And weirdly enough, instead of some gourmet food, he was drinking a glass of water with ice in it, swimming like pretty mermaids.
“What do you want, lady?”
You placed a hand on your hip, furrowing your brow. Jeez, now you remembered why you argued.
“I wanted to check in on you, I thought you died! I was worried about you!”
“Tch.”
He lifted the glass and took a sip, and your eyes immediately locked on to his exposed right arm. There was a harsh light-pink tone that overtook the entire limb. Ungloved, every single detail was free to be scrutinised.
Was he purposely not looking at you head-on?
With this in mind, you immediately moved in front of him. And now, you finally got a good look at his face. And the sight was… incredibly hard to look at, to put it lightly.
The right side of his body, whatever wasn’t concealed by his shirt, was painted in the same pink, and it looked verbatim like first degree burns. And this was after Sage healed him, you couldn’t imagine how it looked when he was first found. How did all of this happen…?
But you could see a deeper red near where his neck was, like that part wasn’t healed properly.
It must be so painful for him to even grab the water and drink… Ugh, okay, scratch that. Too vivid.
“Go away.”
He said through gritted teeth, snapping you out of your shock. And quickly, you cleared your throat with an awkward smile.
“Sorry– do you, uh,” you looked at his right arm, pink, seemingly useless, “do you want me to cook you something?”
He raised an eyebrow, insulted. And it’s not like he didn’t catch on, either.
“I’m ambidextrous.”
“Yeah, but… I’m– I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
He took another sip, breaking eye contact with you. And with that, you heaved a tired sigh, turning to the stove to your right, completely unused. If he came down his high-horse and just admitted that the heat of the stove would get to him, there would be sympathy. But how could you be mad at him in this state?
He was clearly helpless despite his aversion to showing vulnerability.
“Yoru, whatever you want, just say it, I’ll make it. No skin off my back.”
“I want you to leave me alone.”
God, he was impossible, even when you were trying to make amends.
You sighed, finally turning to the stove to make your own food. Neon wouldn’t mind if you used some of her ingredients, right…? The grocery trip you would’ve gone to yesterday was cut short by… well, you know. Hey, the choker made you feel confident, at least.
You moved to the fridge and got to work, taking out what was needed for your own breakfast. It’s been a while since you’ve cooked your own food, so you might be rusty.
Yoru winced once the clunk of your plate ripped him from his day-dreaming, watching you as you sat in front of him with your breakfast. Thankfully, no plate for him.
But as much as he didn’t want to admit it, the food smelled okay. Which was surprising considering the bland stuff he watched you consensually eat. Yoru quickly recognised the dish as tapsilog thanks to Neon, who would usually make this whenever she was forced to cook.
“So, what happened?”
He raised an eyebrow.
“You know, the mission, and stuff. Jett hurt her arm, and you…?”
You looked him up and down, noticing how the burns only took over the lower right side of his face, having grown threateningly close to his eye. Just a few more inches, and he’d have a clouded lens. Would Sage be able to heal that?
Like an approaching wave of volcano, the sight of Yoru slightly smiling immediately caught your attention.
“Didn’t Jett tell you?”
“Uh, no? She didn’t want you to get mad if she did.”
“Tch.”
You rested your arms on the table and waited for him to continue.
Ugh.
“So?”
“It’s not a big deal. One of the pipes burst on Jett’s arm, I covered her from the upcoming explosion, and accidentally took the damage from the wall of pipes behind me. That’s it. Now stop–”
“Wait, wait, what?!”
A wall of pipes went off on him? The toxic fumes, everything? And he was so nonchalant about it?! Just the burns on Jett’s arm, whatever you caught, looked agonising. And he had double that amount explode right on him.
If it weren’t for the existing marks on him, you’d definitely think he was lying.
“How aren’t you maimed, at least? You look fine!”
“Sage’s magic does wonders.” He proudly pointed at his neck, where the deep pink resided, “This spot was mangled when I woke up.”
To say you were horrified would be an understatement. No wonder Sage didn’t allow you to see him. You really didn’t want to believe what he was saying was true, either.
“You’re saying that you covered Jett from the explosions, but it hit you. How?”
“I wrapped the rift around her front. But I swallowed the damage from behind.”
“What–”
Wrap the rift around her? What does that even mean? Like, a mystical shield?
“Why didn’t you– you know, wrap that… around both of you, all the way through?”
“Lady, I had two seconds to keep her safe. I thought I had my back against a wall, at first.”
…Keep her safe? Did those words really just leave Yoru’s mouth without a hint of irony or sarcasm?
“But what about you?”
“What about me?”
“You kept her safe. Do you care about Jett that much?”
Yoru wryly laughed at such a stupid concept, immediately dismissing you with a wave of his good hand.
“As if. I acted on instinct.”
And yet, his instincts demanded he put her before him? Even if those pipes weren’t behind him, he fearlessly covered her on both sides using everything in his arsenal; even himself. Doesn’t sound very selfish to you, you thought.
Wait…
“Are you gonna hold this over her head?”
“What the hell do you take me for?”
Wow. You really weren’t sure what to think about him.
Yoru pushed the chair back and went to stand, but you quickly held a hand up and stopped him.
“Yoru, wait.”
“What?”
You sheepishly slid your plate of food towards him, an awkward smile lifting your lips.
“You didn’t eat yet.”
He stared at you, and his hostile expression quickly softened at such an unexpected offer. Alongside that, you could also sense an air of confusion.
“I’m not eating that.”
“You need to eat something, Yoru. You’re hurt, your body needs it.”
“I’m not in the mood.”
“One bite, at least? Please?”
“I don’t want your–”
“Just this once!”
He stared at you for a few seconds, clearly annoyed at how persistent you were. Where did the coward A/N go, the one who couldn’t even tell Harbour she was too tired to go back to training? He thought.
He sighed, pushing the chair forward and taking the fork into his hand.
“Fine. Just so you’ll shut up.”
You beamed with a smile, watching him pick up a small piece of the beef with his fork.
However, your smile quickly fell once you noticed his face slightly twist at the sight of it, despite the steam that escaped it. To you, it looked incredibly delectable, and frankly, it was a crime you weren’t the one eating it.
“What’s up? Do you hate the seasoning?”
“No. Meat’s just not my first choice.”
“But I thought you liked hibachi grills.”
He shook his head.
“Nevermind.”
He took a bite, leaving you even more confused.
You stared at his face as he ate, not realising how weird you looked, not when you really wanted to know what he thought of the food. It’s not like you didn’t ask yourself why the hell it mattered. Wasn’t this the same man who called you spineless to your face just the day before?
And you felt bad just because he… saved Jett’s life, and didn’t plan on holding it against her.
You turned your gaze away, unable to stop yourself from smiling.
“What’s your deal?”
You shook your head, a quick and impossibly awkward giggle escaping you.
“Nothing. You know, now that I think about it, I should get back to training.”
Yoru watched you stand up and quickly walk off, escaping his line of sight within a few seconds. And for a moment he questioned your sudden switch, before completely dismissing it and eating his breakfast.
Unlike you, his emotions had minimal control over him.
He didn’t care.
❤ฺ·。
As much as you didn’t want to admit it, you sort of understood now why people gave Yoru a pass on his abrasive behaviour. After putting his life on the line, allowing himself to get severely injured, all for the sake of Jett’s survivability? How could you hate him after that?
You sighed to yourself as you worked, struggling to find the muscle that ejects sundew. How did you do it last time? All you recalled was angrily pointing at Yoru… Wait, maybe it’s connected to your index–
Nectar suddenly engulfed your hand by accident, dripping down to the floor.  Wrong trigger…
You sighed and left the training range, moving towards one of the tables where a box of tissues sat, like they were waiting for you.
Then, a set of cyan slits caught your attention, and you turned to find Omen standing near the lockers. Just seeing him felt incredibly calming.
“Hey, Omen.”
He met your gaze, but his awkward posture quickly set you off.
“What’s up?”
“A/N. Nice choker.”
You grinned in pride, using two fingers to caress the heart choker once more. Second compliment on the accessory, already? And from Omen, too. Maybe this thing’s paying off.
“Maraming salamat. Thank you. But are you okay?” <Thank you so much.>‎
Omen shook his head, turning back to his locker.
“Nothing, I was… set off by the smell just now.”
You awkwardly laughed, quickly working on wiping the nectar away, desperately praying he didn’t read up on your abilities and didn’t know it was coming from you.
“I’d forgotten what you can do.”
Damn it.
“Sorry about that. Used the wrong muscle, and stuff.”
“What were you trying to do?”
He gently closed the door to his locker and approached you. Panicking, you immediately wiped up the remaining liquid and tried to find the trash before the scent could irritate him any further. You really didn't want to be reminding Omen of his biggest fears. He was too sweet to be hurt like that.
Where was the trashcan?!
“I wanted to shoot that sundew bomb again, but I don’t know how I did it the first time.”
“I see. And… isn’t Harbour your coach?”
“Well–”
You really hoped he wouldn’t have asked this question. But at least it wasn’t Yoru asking you this. It’s not like you didn’t think about it, either. But he was exhausted just like the other agents. You couldn’t bother him, not after what just happened.
“I– I wanted to practise alone, you know? I’m not in the mood to talk, and stuff.”
Omen stared at you in silence for a moment, before nodding.
“Very well. I was about to leave, anyway.”
Uh oh.
“Uh, wait–”
You quickly held up a hand and stopped him just as he took one step away. And thankfully, he did.
“You know, it– uh, it’s not so bad having you around.” You awkwardly smiled. “Mind staying? It’ll be fun just to talk.”
“Talk?”
You nodded, anxiously scratching at your bracelet. And the few seconds that passed felt like whole hours, before he finally spoke up.
“I can do that. Let’s go.”
Even though Omen had a soothing aura, talking to him was also incredibly stressful. At least you could go off of the eyebrow movements with Yoru. But him? There was literally nothing other than maybe the slits.
Nevertheless, you both entered the training room, and only now did you remember the puddle of nectar you accidentally left behind. Omen stopped, took a deep inhale, before ‘clearing his throat’.
“I didn’t want to say anything, but I have half a mind to turn this scent into a candle.”
“Is… Uh, is that a bad thing?”
“Just tempting. The smell’s pleasing to the soul.”
You eagerly smiled and stopped right in front of him. In the vast area, your voices echoed like you stood in a massive field. A massive dull, closed off and grey field, but I digress.
Separated into two classifications, poison and nectar, you were delighted to discover than he smelt the latter.
“Candles that smell like everyone’s favourite thing ever? I’m up for it!”
“I’ll need a cup-full of it first. Then, I’ll see if I remember the steps…”
You both continued chatting about nonsense as you tried to summon the sundew.
And for the whole hour that you were there, progress was naught. For some reason, you just couldn’t find the trigger for it. All you did was summon more of the nectar by accident. But you avoided crushing the building to bits.
Omen even offered to leave to let you focus, but you couldn’t part. Not yet. Not when he was exactly like Yoru, albeit a kinder version of him. One you could talk to without being looked down on for existing.
You sighed, pulling back your hand and staring at it. Your arm started to ache with how much you kept it pointed straight forward, and how much pressure it took to keep producing the nectar, but nothing would come out.
However, your mind drifted elsewhere.
“Omen… you saw what happened to Yoru yesterday, right?”
“Mhm.”
“Is that, uh, normal?”
Omen met your gaze, and you could sense his confusion by the subtle tilt of his head.
“Yes, we all get injured in this line of work.”
“No, but, he had pipes explode right on him. He almost died. Does that usually happen?”
He crossed his arms and leaned on the wall once more, clearly pondering. It’s not like he didn’t know the answer to your question. But considering the dread that bled into your tone as you spoke, he wanted to figure out how to ease this information onto you.
“...What happened to Yoru was a rare instance.”
Before you could let relief calm you, he immediately spoke up again.
“I understand how fun your friends make it seem, but, A/N, Valorant isn’t a fun get-together. Dying on the frontlines is still highly expected.”
All relief was squashed within a second, and you put down your arm in surprise. Omen noticed this, quickly continuing his sentence.
“Obviously Sage can bring us back should that ever happen, but my point stands.”
You awkwardly laugh, feeling panic suddenly engulf you like a flood. Something he also took note of.
“Kailangang magbiro ito…” <This has to be a joke…>‎
You stretched your right hand, struggling to keep the poisonous fluid and everything alongside it at bay. As much as you tried to keep yourself relaxed, your shaky voice gave everything away.
“W– well, is there, you know, a way to get out of this? This isn’t what I– it’s too much, you know? It’s– It's not– I don’t think this is something I can handle.”
“I… can’t say for sure.”
You put your hands on your temples, struggling to keep calm.
With how little they talked about it, you never realised how appalling the circumstances were, not until you saw it in action. You saw the burns on Yoru, and those burns were after he was healed. You couldn’t not imagine what he looked like when it all first happened. But most importantly, how did he feel? How much pain did he endure before he passed out? And how high were the chances of that happening to you?!
Amidst the turmoil in your head as you mumbled nonsense in Tagalog, you hadn’t realised that Omen stepped up to you, the slits combined with his presence snatching your attention with ease.
“You’re sure there’s no way out of this?! Mali ito, ako– hindi ako dapat nanatili rito!” <You’re sure there’s no way out of this?! This is wrong, I– I shouldn't have stayed here!>‎
He put his hand on your shoulder, his touch slowly bringing you back to reality.
“Take it easy, A/N. You’ll be alright.”
“No I won’t, what if that also happens to me?!”
“It won’t. I guarantee it won’t.”
“But– but–”
“You let your fear control you too much, A/N. Half the things running through your mind are impossible scenarios.”
He saw the poison that dripped from your hand. You didn’t notice it, but thanks to this, being around you forced him to remember his own array of problems.
“Wh– what? How do you know?”
His posture loosened, giving you an air of amicability.
“It happened to me when I first became… this.” He pointed to himself. “It’s only when you truly get on the field do you realise how repetitive things really are.”
How repetitive things really are? As in…
“So… I’ll– I’ll be fine?”
“You will. And you’ll even be laughing at yourself a few months from now. That’s what I did.”
His lighthearted tone took its toll on you in a positive way. Just by the softness of his voice, it managed to calm you down and force a smile to lift your cheeks.
Omen was just so… kind.
“How are you feeling?”
You sighed, running your dry fingers through your hair.
“I– I feel better.”
“Good. Now, how about those candles we talked about?”
“That– that sounds… It sounds great. Okay, yeah, let’s do it.”
With a friendly pat on the shoulder, you both walked out of the training room and headed towards elsewhere, ready to get your mind off of everything.

my design notes for the mianite s2 cast (put under a cut because Long + mentions of s/h at one point):
in general i think that those who've lived in town the longest (especially Tucker and Sonja) are the ones whose clothing has been most affected by the world and era's fashion. they kind of look like they come from the 1800s and of course the other two champions bully them relentlessly for it but i like to think that tom exchanged the button up under his suit blazer for one of those ruffle front shirts because he liked how it looks, essentially making him look like the world's most genre and time-bending wizard ever, especially with the hat.
jordan
after really getting into the various engineering/mechanics/technical mods and getting shocked/burnt/etc enough times, he finally exchanged his basketball shorts for some reinforced knee pants and a plain white t-shirt with one of those pockets on the front, although nobody ever really sees it because he's wearing crazy armor most of the time.
wears steel-toed boots when working on technical stuff and sneakers the rest of the time
3 billion pockets with random shit in it (cool rocks, random trinkets, etc)
looks Absolutely Insane in the best way. none of his outfit actually fits together but somehow he makes it work
waglington
so a quick sidenote. i know he has a skin and everything however in my brain all of the wizards look like some variation of this:
Tumblr media
(essentially "little guys who live in assorted hats due to being cursed by the gods after their hubris was revealed.")
however! this does not stop me from adding little details where i want, such as:
in s1, wag was basically confined to a wizard hat due to the restrictions of the world he was in. in s2 this is no longer the case and he has acquired many hats all with their own enchantments (though 90% of the ones he wears regularly are really durable).
this makes it look really fucking funny whenever he's doing Anything because when hes flying around you just see a hat holding a regular sized sword. when hes doing magic you see a hat in the middle of a firestorm or whatever. during the Purge he can sneak up on people really easily due to essentially being a hat. nobody has ever seen what lives under the hat and nobody has ever successfully tried to look inside without being killed
he's applied various odds and ends to his hats as the season goes on! (i.e patches, mends, embroidered runes and sigils). all rings and items are kept on his person, but it's generally accepted amongst the rest of the champions that his inventory space is located within the hat itself
sonja
out of all of the champions, she absolutely looks the coolest. everyone looks like losers next to her no matter what the situation is. eyeliner on point, has a fuckin Flying Orb She Balances On, you know the deal
has actual fox ears! this is only visible when the hood of her hoodie is back, though, which she doesn't do often except for when working on magic stuff for better visibility
pink everything if she can manage it <3 she has a theme and she sticks to it
tom
found one of those ruffle front button up shirts and wears it with his usual suit outfit. steve found him a green bow tie to wear with it so it still works!
likes to float around and do flips in the air and go all sorts of angles while flying. it is Very Distracting but he's having fun with it so who cares
engineered his hammer- sorry, wang- to look exactly like an upside down dick and balls while it's being used. he thinks this is the funniest thing ever and honestly it kind of is
tucker
(self-harm mention here!)
very pale and with constant eyebags and red eyes/pupils from working with blood magic
arms absolutely covered in cutting scars, also from working with blood magic
wears his ash ketchum cap on top of his crazy strong fantasy ass looking armor which frankly looks fucking stupid but he does not care
steve
tons of old scars, both from being a former fighter and a farmer
still wears farmer's clothing but don't be fooled, he Knows how to use the sword at his side
australian flag patch on his sleeve and as a sticker on his chestplate
very casual practiced movements despite his apparent age, even when doing kickass shit
martha
light purple eyes. makes her look like she's blind. she is not
transfem swag for YEARS
just as much at home in fighting gear as she is in a skirt!
andor
has long hair but keeps it up in a bun under his wooden helmet (that's why he always wears it) (yes hes also transgender)
can i just say that i love the fingerless gloves. that was an awesome design choice. the designers knew what they were doing with that one

DIY Secret Storage Box
Tumblr media
Project by Kate Pruitt:
Try as I might to achieve minimalism, I just can’t seem to stop the clutter in my life. After a huge clean, the house experiences a few days of perfect organization and cleanliness before the chaos creeps back in, usually through a series of seemingly innocent decisions — a piece of mail I set aside instead of filing away; an irresistible thrift-shop find that gets purchased without a plan for where it should go; a sale on craft supplies. You know how it is. Okay, maybe they’re not so innocent.
While I still plan to eliminate and prevent clutter, I also embrace it to a certain extent as a challenge to finding clever ways of storing things secretly. I consider today’s project a double achievement in this category: I have not only found a place for my extra pieces of art, but I’ve also created a stealth storage unit that can hold the most unsightly items in my house: my random binders, files and paperwork. With the right piece of art and a readymade box, you can make this project in under an hour. So I ask you, if the clutter is hidden behind a pretty piece of artwork and nobody sees it but you, does it exist? Happy crafting ;) — Kate
Tumblr media
Materials
framed artwork (ideally one with a thick wood frame, or one with a wooden canvas inside)
wood box (I used Prant boxes from Ikea because they were the perfect depth for my bookshelves, but any box will do.)
ruler
pencil
drill
3/4″ screws
Instructions
1. Start by assembling your boxes, placing them in your bookshelf and planning how you want your picture to sit within your shelves. Depending on the dimensions of your picture, you may want it to sit flush with the bottom of the box/shelf, or you may want it to extend above or below the shelf. Once you’ve decided how you like it, use your pencil to mark the box roughly where your frame will hit it.
2. Measure and mark the box where you will attach it to the frame. You want to inset the holes from the edges by at least 1″ on the top and sides. Make corresponding marks on the frame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Drill small holes where you made the four marks on the box.
Tumblr media
4. Flip the picture upside down and place the box on top, realigning the holes with the corresponding marks you made on the frame.
Tumblr media
5. Screw the box to the frame.
Tumblr media
6. You’re done! I recommend adding felt pads to the bottom of the box, especially if your box does not sit flush with the bottom of the frame. This way, you can also use your box/artwork for tabletop storage!

So I finally got off your Tumblr and proceeded to watch...Love by Chance again. Instead of any of the other 181 things (literally) I have bookmarked 🙃. But now I have a few random questions you might be able to answer.
1. Is Ikea popular in Thailand? I saw a lot of their stuff in the show. Including a little drawer unit...with the drawers upside down.
Tumblr media
2. Is wrist grabbing the Asian equivalent of hand grabbing? It seems intentionally less intimate, but then there's close up shots that make it seem like it IS supposed to make your heart flutter. But...characters also sometimes hold hands, so why not just do that?
3. Do Tin or Can have a lisp? I noticed a few times it sounded like they did, which normally I would assume was just, you know, a word in a language I don't understand, except that I never noticed it in any other characters.
4. Not a question, but as I rewatched I thought multiple times "wow, thank goodness the characters point out when someone's blushing, because everybody just looks pale AF" Except beautiful Ae and his "dark" skin. Again, glad I had people to point out how short, dark, and ugly he is supposed to be, and Pond to point out his own hotness, cos I don't see any of that.
5. Do you know of any websites that find where to buy items from shows? I tried looking into Ae's little tote that could, but all it seems anyone ever found was a brand name but not where to find it. I thought of this also because I really like Payu's thick thin cross necklace in live in the air and was thinking of making one, but while I can jewelry a little I can't sew.
6. Last thing. Sorry there's so much! AePete are OBVIOUSLY the world's Best Boys, but I also really like TinCan...it hurts a little bit how bad their kisses are, especially because in the book Can is EXTREMELY enthusiastic about sex and kissing once they get around to it. But anyway, @heretherebedork once did an amazing analysis of Can as autistic (powerpoint included!), what do you think of that interpretation?
I do it too, no worries. So many thing to watch... instead I rewatch an old favorite.
It's like ordering your favorite dish at that one place. I mean there are obviously other good dishes but... I LIKE THIS ONE.
1. Is Ikea popular in Thailand?
Ikea is like noodles, everyone has a version, everyone likes it, everyone consumes more of it than we like to admit.
Tumblr media
2. Is wrist grabbing the Asian equivalent of hand grabbing?
I think the western world equivalent would actually be the gentle friendship push/shove. Maybe the arm sling and drag (ah la Win). I’m sure there’s something in there about the difference between collectivistic culture (coaxing, pulling) versus individualistic (push forward alone and in front of you) but I’m not gonna speculate.
Tumblr media
3. Do Tin or Can have a lisp?
I can’t remember and I refuse to rewatch. Sorry. I always skipped them even in LBC 1.
Tumblr media
Notice this in dramas more. Okay? Darker skinned characters are often referred to as “ugly” or simply depicted playing poor, criminal, rough, evil, and homeless characters. It’s extremely insidious and endemic in Asian dramas, yes all of them, but it is not restricted to Asian film industries.
It is a serious casting problem and criminally negligent on the part of casting directors. It makes me SO ANGRY.
In many Cdramas and Kdramas you can pick which tall dude is gonna win the baby-girl but how white his flipping skin is.
And we aren’t gonna talk about the treatment that some of the *slightly* more tan Kpop idols go through, let alone the ones from southern Asian countries.
Tumblr media
Of course the Dutch, the Brits, the French, and the Americans are largely to blame (not to mention Christian proselytism), but never forget that China and Japan were also colonialist imperial empires with very decided standards of beauty. Conquerors love to define what is beautiful for the subjugated and usually it’s the opposite appearance to the bulk of the population. Because the the bulk of most populations are tanner or darker skinned (especially prior to industrial revolutions) because in nomadic, agrarian, pastoral, and agro-pastoral societies they are working outside. Hey, so it’s ALSO a class issue. AND since this kind of whiteness could only really be afforded by the wealthy, particularly it was a marker of being able to keep your females trapped inside 24/7. So guess what? It’s also a feminist issue.
Should we talk about the South Thailand insurgency and how anti muslim and Malay sentiment is a contributing factor in Thailand in particular? What you thought the Thai military conscription program was for shits and giggles?
All pop culture mediums (especially the visual ones) are political whether they like it our not. Whether we like it or not. Even our stupid little corner of romancelandia.
Tumblr media
5. Do you know of any websites that find where to buy items from shows?
Nope. I don’t collect crap. I can pack everything I own into a pickup truck and I like it that way. Might be a phobia.
6. AePete are OBVIOUSLY the world's Best Boys,
OBVIOUSLY
Tumblr media
but I also really like TinCan...it hurts a little bit how bad their kisses are, especially because in the book Can is EXTREMELY enthusiastic about sex and kissing once they get around to it.
That’s nice to know, but yeah. Actor bad chemistry. I think it’s why I responded so poorly to them as a pair.
But anyway, @heretherebedork once did an amazing analysis of Can as autistic (powerpoint included!), what do you think of that interpretation?
I like it. I like everything HTBD does. Not sure I would’ve interpreted him that way in LBC1 alone (I might go with ADD), but that doesn’t matter. The point of entertainment is how it makes you feel, so 50% (if not more) is the interpretation you bring to it based on your own life experiences. I don’t bring much of a neurodivergent perspective to my watching life. I need to have these kind of reps pointed out to me. But that doesn’t impact its validity as a read on what’s presented and HTBD knows what they are talking about.

I need to ink these later if I have time.
I drew Lux Abode hand walking with ffuP while looking at these clip arts as a pose refs.

If you want to make a infected realtor oc with a fungmammal you can just credit me for the mutualism fugus shaped animal idea.
I would love to see what people come up with.
Some fungmammals can be mutualism, commensalism and parasitism.
But it's randomized.
Lux Abode has a mutualism fungmammal named ffuP and is a poodle shaped fungus. (ffuP acts female but is mushroom gendered.)
Sprouted on October 31 1980
Lux Abode's voice canon is QueenBlaze. Her voice fits her very well. Video not mine but link is there.

Jetty Shanty has a commensalism fungmammal named Squeep and is a seagull shaped fungus. (Squeep acts male but is mushroom gendered.)
Sprouted on September 19 1985

This is Squeep's amphibious boat car prop item that can be driven on both land and sea.
This prop item is for Jetty Shanty wanted to use for his boat tour business in the uncanny valley. Jetty also like to find broken items in landfills or in the ocean to fix and clean up to resale as either gifts or things people need.
Jetty drew the car first then Squeep did the rest.
Jetty calls this amphibious car the SeaKat and it's like a off model 770 amphibious car.
The cat head shaped back license plate is supposed to be a number version on the word fish.
Jetty Shanty has a commensalism fungmammal named Squeep and is a seagull shaped fungus.
What I based Squeep's prop item on a aquatic car for Jetty's boat tour on.

Lux Abode's first full name is Luxate but shorts it to lux.
She also gets vertigo if she stands right side up for a long period of time so she flips herself upside down.
And also hand walks like this when no one is looking.
It's normal since her house is upside down.
Clipart of a Cartoon Uncertain Brunette Caucasian Business Woman Walking on Her Hands - Royalty Free Vector Illustration by Johnny Sajem #1315515
Only the drivers seat in Lux's prop item bootleg upside down Toyota Previa is upside down but for the uber like people she drives around it's right side up for them.
She gets paid in offerings like food or money. Maybe shiny things.
The prop bootleg previa is a different color to the people looking at it but to Lux it's ffuP's colors.
If you don't give her a offering or try you leave without paying she will lock the van, then drive to a obscure location, and chill up the prop item van then eat you there.
All fungmammals phoresis their infected realtor hosts.
The props can be anything even make monster's if you want but if destroyed it will return to the fungmammal or spread as spores to make more of them.
-----------------------
A infected realtor with a Parasitism fungmammals will beg the fungmammal to make their abandoned and beat up houses to be more presentable to get a buyer or another realtor's attention by adding more spores to their housebody to change it to be more extravagant.
The parasitism realtor's appearance and outfit looks disheveled or homeless looking.
They tend to be the easiest ones to know if they are infected and are first to be destroyed.
These are pretty rare to see out and about since most just hibernate in their house bodies.
Parasitism realtor's tend to eat more inorganic life and mostly eat trash when times are tough which is bad for their house bodies.
The other infected realtor's tend to warn the parasitism realtor's more often then mutualism and commensalism realtors.
Parasitism realtor's tend to feel like they always have low blood sugar and stumble on words a lot. And also have brain fog and forget their dialogue speech or quirk they have.
If a Parasitism realtor dies the fungmammal moves on to their next host by the card they randomly give to other non infected realtor's.
Basically what Parasitism realtor's be like.
Image not mine but link is there.
SpongeBob "Where Do the Years Go" | Know Your Meme
Yeah the Parasitism one's don't care for their host like the other two and will just move on to the next host.
I would call this realtor population control but I'm not sure.
All Fungmammals love water and love to swim. They also use this to socialize with telepathy but mostly talk about their host, things to eat, weird things they see/smell, and cool places to hide from enemies.
The first ability a fungmammal gives a host is swimming.
========================
I kind of want to make a Parasitism realtor that is a nonmobile mobile home but has a quokka fungmammal is the parasite. (Movil Koti) he has a parasite fungmammal shaped like a Quokka named Quirk but is nicknamed Peaches by the other infected realtors.
Móvil (Spanish for Mobile when on google translate.) Koti (Finnish Home on google translate)

Hungry parasitism realtor's tend to be where food and non food items are thrown away or in alley ways at anytime of the day but mostly at night.
But if you are there they act zombie like. If you are a non infected realtor then they like to sneak up on you and bite the lure cord.
Sometimes a parasitism realtor's house could just be a big trash can but house shaped.
You can hurt them with weapons and it does damage their lure bodies a little bit. These realtor's are slow to healing.
The props items that get made are kind of cheaply made.
A parasitism realtor would have a business card but it would be hard to read, crumbled up, kind of ripped up, and nasty.
These cards don't last very long.
These realtor's avoid being captured so they won't be experimented on or killed by being frozen then put in acid.
The parasitism fungmmamal will flee if the host gets captured and they feel like a normal realtor again but are often killed when a realtor feels better.
The parasitism fungmammal will refuse to bring their previous host back and just jump to the next realtor for their next meal.
It's usually a few of these around.
----------------------
Mutualism and commensalism realtor fungmammals will separate but carry a small bit of the host realtor's plant DNA to grow a new version of their host's body but it will have the past memories of the old host. Mostly the new body screams in pain then feels better.
If a mutualism and commensalism fungmammal is eaten or is badly hurt they will explode to spread it's spores then slowly reform itself back together.
The parasitism fungmammal wouldn't allow that to happen since it would stay hidden. It would need to swim or walk around since it would be bigger than the mutualism and commensalism fungmammals.
There can be a infected realtor with all three fungmammal types but it would drive the realtor insane since its like having three beings in your house. One that is helpful, one that chills out but doesn't help, and the freeloader that eats everything while wrecking house.
And all telepathy talking to you all at once to do different things. These infected realtors would gladly give themselves up and would rather die then have this feeling.
Basically this.
Music and video not mine but link is there.
8-bit Too Many Cooks -Too Many Hours - Music By Rush Coil - YouTube
A group of infected realtor's is called a sitcom.
The parasitism fungmammal will feed off any meal a infected realtor eats and gets full from it and the host just gets the scraps.
The infected lure can eat just like a normal person would be the "food" would travel through the lure cord to their trash like houses to eat.

Lux Abode's Reality Show and Sitcom
------------------------------------------
Lux Abode wants to make a trashy reality show and it's called The Real Houses of The Uncanny Valley.
She would gather up one of each species and pay them to be in this reality show.
She will randomly put challenges in it to spice it up.
This show slowly gained a cult following but she only does these on weekdays but the dream gameshows on the weekends unless she is buyer hunting successfully.
Lux Abode puts it on a pirate station on the uncanny valley tv channels on a weird time so she won't get caught only the infected realtors know which channel it's on.
But you can randomly catch it if you are channel surfing.
Lux Abode will also have a segment where you can just adopt a fungmammal and Regular Guys in fuzzball form as pets in a show segment similar to Cats 101.
She well also tell the history of them but only a few people check it out.
This is like a pirate lost public access show.
The personality of each fungmammal and regular guy fuzzball is known before hand unless the fungmammal is defective or blank.
Lux Abode will randomly choose people or beings off the street for her podcast which is radio only.
Both parties talk about random things happening and most of the time get off topic.
Some podcasts range from listenable to unlistenable in quality.
If bored she will make up a game.
Lux Abode has another show that is a sitcom called Honey I'm Home.
It's about a Realtor that fell in love with a human but still wants to eat the buyer and adopted a regular guy as a teen but due to budget cuts that same regular guy plays as the dog and the cat in the sitcom.
There is a plot line where the Regular Guy messes up their role and they are half teen with the animal ears but the show just left it in.
This character later became a mascot that lasted 6 seasons and a movie with merch that is super rare.
The sitcom theme is a earworm.
There is a plot line where the buyer wants to know what a Realtor tastes like and plots how to capture one but that's in the non canon Halloween special.
If you seen any sitcom plot line then it's basically like that but with a weird twist and also have clever product placement in the show like in the background or character's randomly causally putting the product name in their sentences.
The Regular Guy that is playing as a teen is a adult but is acting as a teen but needed to be taught by the human actress or actor on what a teenager is since Regular Guys were never babies that grow up but start out as adults once they remove themself from the motherball.
The sitcom is set inside of the house body of the Realtor and this Realtor is well feed with actors or actress maybe part of the staff that arrives late or gets the wrong food orders.
But most of the time normal foods work to satisfy this house.
But one accident ruined this Realtor's whole career.
While the staff was done recording the movie and after seeing the premiere decided to want to snatch a buyer because they haven't had human in awhile so this Realtor waited then later found the one.
Chateau Bungalow was this Realtors name and was clean cut and a cult classic celebrity.
But this buyer was smart and before being eaten was a smoker then dropped the cigarette on the floor which caused a fire and badly burned the house body while also damaging the lure.
The buyer did flee the badly damaged house but Chateau both the lure and the house nearly died there but some how survived but seem to have lost his memories with his lines.
Lux Abode easily replaced him with Jetty Shanty since Chateau Bungalow never showed up while his lure wasn't good enough for tv let alone a obscure channel tv show.
Chateau Bungalow tried to do the buyer hunting to survive but his lurebody moved differently along with his voice and the brain fog from the failed snatcher buyer attempt that he was losing his memories of his past life.
He was hurting and starving near death until a creature appeared checking the burned place out to see if the burned debris was edible.
Chateau was scared of the this creature but the fungmammal was nice to this realtor and tried to heal him but it didn't last long.
Sprocket was the name this fungmammal had and looked like a firecracker mixed with a cat.
She protects Chateau and sometimes finds old bootleg vhs tapes of the sitcom so Chateau can get some of his memories back but sometimes wonder where the other actors and actress are doing now.
Chateau did go to see if Hazzy which was the Regular guy in the sitcom was still at the old set but was abandoned since the reboot wasn't as good as the original.
Hazzy was homeless and was stealing food to survive then later rented her Doe ball form as a pet then later took odd jobs that didn't pay well so decided to live close to the motherball thinking of giving up to be reabsorbed.
Sprocket sensed Hazzy and telepathy told Chateau to talk to her then both got captured by the very company they made ads for in the sitcom all those years ago.
But both are now puppets for the company but are both paid decently and can now tell what their job is without lying about their job since it's on a secret channel that only a select few of people stumble on & infected realtors can watch but are not allowed to share the channel.

Did You Get Scammed on Cash App? Here’s What To Do
Did You Get Scammed on Cash App? Don’t Panic! Do This
Jacqueline Sanders was in a hurry to activate her new Cash App debit card — so she Googled the phone number for Cash App customer support. When the person she was speaking with told her to download an app called AnyDesk to her phone, Sanders didn’t think twice. But that’s when her world turned upside down.
Tumblr media
Sanders wasn’t speaking to a real Cash App support representative. Instead, she’d reached a scammer posing as a Cash App employee.
The software she had downloaded had given the fraudster total control of her phone. Within minutes, Sanders watched the scammer take over her family’s bank accounts and transfer out all of their savings as Bitcoin.
Cash app scams like these are running rampant. And if you’ve been scammed on Cash App, you need to act quickly.  Here’s what to do and how you can try to get your cash app money back from a scammer.
How Do Cash App Scams Work? Can You Get Your Money Back?
Cash App offers a quick and convenient way to send and receive money. But that convenience comes with a cost.  Unlike your bank account, money sent via Cash App (or other mobile payment apps such as Zelle and Venmo) isn’t FDIC insured. This means that you don’t have access to any buyer protection programs.
If you accidentally send money to a scammer or get tricked into giving up access to your Cash App account, it’s essentially like losing a wallet full of cash.
Here are just a few of the most common Cash App scams that you should be aware of:
Fraudulent Cash App customer support websites and phone numbers. Fraudsters pretend to be Cash App employees and then convince you to give up your password or download software that gives them remote access to your phone or computer.
“Cash flipping” scams that promise huge returns. Scammers post on social media and promise huge returns on cryptocurrencies or other investments — for a small initial investment via Cash App. But any money you send goes straight to the scammer. Also, beware of any supposed Cash App giveaways (other than the official “Cash App Friday” posts).
Fake Cash App login pages sent in phishing emails and texts. Scammers send emails or texts claiming there’s a payment waiting for you in Cash App. But when you click on the link, you’re taken to a site that steals your username and password.
Random people “accidentally” sending you money over Cash App. Con artists send you money over Cash App and then ask you to refund it to a different account. (Any request for a refund is almost always a major red flag). But the original payment was sent using a stolen credit card. When the owner files a chargeback complaint, the amount is taken out of your account.
Scammers requesting Cash App payments on online marketplaces. Scammers set up fake listings for hard-to-find items on Facebook Marketplace or other online platforms. They request payment via Cash App and then disappear after you send it.
Fake bank fraud alerts that lead to Cash App scams. Fraudsters pretend to be representatives from your bank and claim your account is compromised. They then convince you to transfer your money to a “secure” account using Cash App. But any money you send will go straight to the scammers.
So, what happens if you get scammed on Cash App?
According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Cash App was not even among the payment methods where people were able to recover their funds.
But for the best chances of recovering your lost money, there are steps that you can take.
How To Get Your Money Back If You Were Scammed on Cash App
Request a refund from the recipient
Try to cancel the payment
Dispute the transaction on Cash App
File a police report
Inform your bank of the fraud
Report the transaction as a scam
Report and block the Cash App scammer
File a complaint with the FTC
Freeze your credit
Consider signing up for a digital security solution
If you’ve been scammed on Cash App or if you sent money to the wrong person, here’s what you can do to try and get your money back:
@Request a refund from the recipient
Typically, there are three situations in which you’ll be able to successfully get a refund for the amount you sent:
The recipient agrees to return the money that you sent them.
You manage to cancel the payment before it’s finalized.
You’re able to successfully dispute the payment via Cash App support.
Because Cash App is a peer-to-peer payment app, you should start by checking in with the recipient to see if they’ll refund you. In a few cases, the “scam” was really a misunderstanding or mistake.
If you sent money to the wrong person or want to request a refund, open your Cash App home screen and select the “Activity” tab. Then, find the payment and select “...” in the top right corner. Select “Cash App Refund” and then “OK.”
This sends a refund request, but the recipient will still have to accept it for you to receive the refund. If they do, you should receive your refund in 1–3 business days.
@Try to cancel the payment
If you catch the scam quickly enough, you can try to cancel the transfer.
Go to your activity tab and look for the fraudulent payment. If you see the option to “Cancel” it, that means that the scammer hasn’t finalized the transfer. Select “Cancel” immediately, and you should get your money back.
@Dispute the transaction on Cash App
If you still can’t get a cash app refund, dispute the transaction with Cash App’s customer service.
You can dispute a Cash App transaction when:
The outcome was not what you expected, such as with duplicate transactions or if you were charged the wrong amount.
Fraudulent transactions occur when your Cash App card is stolen or lost. You can also dispute fraudulent transactions when your account is compromised or when you didn’t participate in the transaction.
Go to your “Activity” tab, find the payment and select “...” Then, click “Need Help & Cash App Support” to contact Cash App support.
Next, choose “Dispute this transaction.” The Cash App team will then investigate the dispute and inform you of their decision.
@File a police report
A police report can be a necessary step if you want to dispute fraudulent transactions or help convince Cash App to refund your lost money.
Contact your local law enforcement’s non-emergency line (i.e., not 911) and ask for their fraud department. Explain what happened, and tell them the steps you’ve already taken. They’ll create a file that you can reference when you continue trying to get your money back.
@Inform your bank of the fraud
Next, contact your bank’s fraud department and explain what happened. They may suggest that you close your current bank account (to stop further fraud) and get set up with a new one.
You can also file a dispute for the transaction with your bank if you’ve linked your Cash App account to a debit card or credit card.
@Report the transaction as a scam
Now that you’ve done everything in your power to try and get your money back, it’s time to report the scammer. Open Cash App, tap your profile icon, and then select “Support” and “Report a Payment Issue.” Select the scam payment in question and follow the prompts.
@Report and block the Cash App scammer
Finally, block the scam account by going to the scammer’s profile, scrolling to the bottom, and tapping “Report” or “Block.”
@File a complaint with the FTC
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) tracks and reports on scams. If you’ve lost money or given up sensitive information that could be used for identity theft — such as your name, address, credit card number, Social Security number (SSN), etc. — you should report it to the FTC.
Report the scam to official government authorities by calling 1-877-FTC-HELP or by visiting ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
@Freeze your credit
If scammers accessed your Cash App account and have discovered more sensitive financial information about you, they could potentially open new accounts or take out loans in your name.
A credit freeze stops anyone from accessing your credit report.
To freeze your credit, contact each of the three major credit bureaus — Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion — and request a credit freeze. You can also lock your credit with a single tap using Aura’s all-in-one digital security app.
@Consider signing up for a digital security solution
Scammers don’t just target you over Cash App. If they gain access to your financial or personal information, they could do immense damage to your reputation, credit, and identity.
Aura’s all-in-one digital security solution proactively protects you from Cash App scammers (and worse).
With Aura, you get:
24/7 credit monitoring with faster fraud alerts. Aura monitors your bank, credit, and investment accounts in near real-time for signs of fraud. If we see anything suspicious, we’ll alert you up to 4x faster than the competition.
A secure password manager that warns you if your accounts are compromised. Aura scans the Dark Web and recent data breaches to see if your account usernames and passwords have been leaked. If we find your passwords online, we’ll alert you and then help you replace them with new, more secure ones that you can manage with a single click.
Antivirus and a VPN to keep your devices safe from hackers. Hackers can come after your money transfer apps. Aura’s antivirus software and virtual private network (VPN) ensure that your devices and networks are secured against hacking.
#1-rated identity theft protection. Aura constantly monitors your most sensitive personal information (such as your SSN, name, address, home title, and more) for signs of fraud.
$1,000,000 insurance coverage for eligible losses due to identity theft. If the worst should happen, you have 24/7 access to a team of fraud resolution specialists as well as insurance protection that covers damages caused by identity theft.
Did You Lose Your Cash App Card? Do This!
If scammers have access to your Cash App card, they could potentially steal your money. If your wallet or bag is lost or stolen (or you lose your Cash App card), here’s what to do:
Open Cash App on your phone.
Tap the “Cash Card” tab.
Select “Cash Card Support” from the menu.
Select “Report your Cash Card” and then “Card Stolen/Compromised” or “Missing Card.”
Follow the next steps.
How To Secure Your Cash App Account Against Scammers
Never give away your personal information or Cash App login credentials. Cash App representatives will never ask for your login details, password, Cash App pin, bank account information, or other sensitive data.
Secure your account with two-factor authentication (2FA). Enable 2FA on your Cash App account using an authenticator app (not via SMS).
Enable Cash App’s “security lock.” Security lock requires a passcode (or Touch ID) for every payment. This can help protect your account if your phone gets stolen or scammers gain access to it.
Turn on payment notifications. Set up payment notifications (via text message or email). This will notify you whenever a payment comes out of your Cash App account.
Stay logged out of Cash App. Don’t keep your account open on your phone. Instead, log out whenever you’re done using the app.
Don’t keep large amounts of money in your Cash App account. Because your Cash App balance isn’t insured, you should only keep what you need in it. Keep the majority of your money in your bank account or elsewhere.
Double-check every transaction. Make sure you’re sending the right amount of money to the correct account. Remember, transfers on Cash App are like cash. Once they’re gone, it’s almost impossible to get them back.
Make sure all emails are coming from official Cash App domains. Any emails from Cash App will come from these domains: @squareup.com, @square.com, or @Cash.app. Anything else (such as a Gmail or Yahoo! email address) is a scam.
Only contact Cash App customer support through the app. Don’t call phone numbers that you find via Google searches. If you do call a phone number and someone picks up, it’s a scam. Cash App’s phone number only provides automated help. If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from Cash App, this, too, is a scam. Hang up and block the number.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
unpacking Rant incoming
So we did the bulk of the big moving (furniture, etc, the stuff we couldn't do on our own w/ our station wagon) last weekend and during the "pack up" day (saturday) while my partner and I and his dad and his uncle were clearing the bedroom and packing up furniture, his mom, who cannot lift things and isn't particularly sure on her feet anyway, decided that she would pack up our kitchen stuff
And honestly? I'm not super happy about that. My partner, who's mom ALWAYS does stuff like this when it gets to a certain point, was just like "Yay, packing we don't have to do!" but in my head, I'm thinking "Great, she's going to pack things that aren't ours, she's going to pack things that need to be thrown out, she's going to pack things in an illogical order, and its just going to be chaos."
Y'all, I was fucking RIGHT, too. Not only have i found SEVERAL food items that don't belong to us (some microwave popcorn from the dollar store, some old cereal that his Dad purchased and fussed at us not to eat, some old-ass cans of tuna), but I'm also finding like... just random things. Oh, and on top of this, she taped the boxes upside-down so there were 3-4 large home-depot moving boxes that got packed upside-down and then carried right-side up which means that there's a bunch of stuff just jostling around and getting flipped over and it's just.. ugh. Guys, it's a fucking nightmare.
And the fucking random tupperwares that aren't ours! All this shit that I know his mom was just like "Do I remember this with my bad memory? No, must be theirs!" Random box of garlic butter Ritz? Must be theirs!
I'm already so exhausted from packing and having to scramble to find things (because no matter how well you plan... you always have to) and the stress of this is unreal. Spilled container of chia seeds? YEP.
Meanwhile we still have some cleanup and small packing up to do in our old room and my MIL has started "reclaiming" the living room, which has honestly made me feel unwelcome in the house which is still technically our home til the end of the month, and I just.. guys, I'm so drained. I just want everything to be magically finished.
And yeah, I'm really fucking bitter, too, that suddenly they're so gung-ho to "help" when it means they can just throw anything they want into boxes and send it our way when in the weeks leading up to this move they were actively NOT helping. Like I legit asked if my inlaws, who are retired and have no real set schedule, if they could pick up a step-ladder at the store for me (which I would provide money for) and they were like "Oh i don't think we're going to be going up there this week."
sigh.

Signs Your Computer Registry and You Are In Trouble
Tumblr media
Overviews various indicators that a computer registry has been compromised outlining why and how files, applications and computer hardware react the way they do when a corruption or security breach has occurred or is in progress.
The last thing you want to do is be connected to the Internet or for that matter, networked into another computer that is Internet accessible without any form of computer security in place. You need to safeguard your computer at all costs to avoid spyware, adware, malware, spamming, viruses, worms trojans and 100's of other things and terminology that deliver havoc to your computer's operating system. The purpose, intent, directive, mission, modes' operandi (whatever you want to call it) of operating system disruption is multifarious in nature. It could be criminal intent, malicious, prank, spying, diversionary, bridging, dominating, altering and (once again) a thousand other tactics. The bottom line is if you don't value your computer's operability you'll be a victim of actionable intent that could result in the loss of a perfectly good computer, your identity, financial data, privacy or all the above and more.
You took the time to learn how to use your computer and hopefully along the way you also learned not only how to keep it optimized but you and it safe as well. If you think problems only happen to everyone else, you are living in a vacuum! Your computer is an IP address that has nothing to do with your face, character or honest disposition. Your computer is electronic in nature and it depends upon you to keep you both functional and secure. Yes, the computer is brilliant but the one thing that sets you aside from the high speed logic of your computer is that at this point in time; you have the additional intelligence it has not and that is - common sense. With this in mind, that makes you the doctor and the computer a patient needing care, concern and nurturing.
So doctor, here are some sure signs the patient (your computer) is suffering and needs a good quality course of care. Another words it's infected with a virus, worm, malware, etc. etc.
1. You computer is running significantly slower, taking much longer to display webpage, takes forever to open a program, application or save a file.
2. You type in a specific URL address and end up somewhere else or, you do nothing and a webpage not requested suddenly appears as if perhaps a hacker has preselected your browsers' destination.
3. Random error messages (iexplorer has to be closed, DLL error, System 32, svchost, Kewrnel 32, etc.) begin to appear. Strange Windows warnings such as such as Info, Error or Question Boxes appear asking yes/no questions or solicit you to hit an OK Button.
4. Your browser homepage suddenly changes (different wallpaper, displays another picture from your computer data files or a picture you've never seen before), inverts, flips upside down, blinks, changes colors, lettering appears in reverse, or the monitor turns itself on and off etc.
5. You notice new icons appearing at the bottom of your screen, perhaps new items you know you didn't add suddenly appear on your favorites menu, there have been additional toolbars added to your browser or, your taskbar disappears completely.
6. A mass of popup advertising begins to appear even though the browser is not open or you get popups on pages your are familiar with and know do not normally display a pop over, pop under or exit pop up.
7. Your computer keyboard functions incorrectly - keys don't work, clicking on a link does nothing, tab key is dysfunctional, you can't use the Ctrl+Alt+Del function to end some task or any given program or process.
8. Your computer mouse seems to go haywire ' it begins leaving trails, the pointer disappears from the computer screen, the right and left mouse buttons reverser their functions, the mouse moves across the screen by itself.
9. The sound volume on your computer changes levels indiscriminately; your speakers start or stop working by themselves as if intentionally being turned on and off.
10. The computer powers down/ shuts itself off or restarts itself frequently. It crashes often for no foreseeable reason. The computer reboots itself.
11. The time and date of the computer changes by itself at times other then the automatic semi-annual time changes. (Spring forward/Fall back).
12. Your Windows" Start Button disappears and remains hidden from your ability to find it or you see unclear dialog boxes and/or menus.
13. Your account passwords are changed or someone else seems have access to areas once privy only to you or - you are suddenly denied access to an account or multiple accounts. Indication of a Keylogger Spyware (that record everything you type on a keyboard) resulting in purchases you may have never made, privacy invasions, identity theft, financial turmoil, unauthorized bank and credit card use or activations.
14. You notice indicator lights on the computer tower flashing or blinking when you are not on or using the computer. Indicates a hacker is using program files or accessing the Internet via your computer when it is felt you are sleeping or away from the computer or home.
15. The computer plays recordings of the sounds picked up in your computer room overheard by your computer's microphone. Your Webcam can be hijacked and used to spy on activity within the room it's located in.
16. When you reboot your computer a message reflects that there are other people connected or programs in operation you were not using.
17. Other people can read your private ICQ, IRC, AIM or Yahoo pager messages and other Chat Room instruments.
18. Your computer starts carrying on a conversation with you via text messaging, the computer begins reading the contents off your computer clipboard or, a chat box appears forcing you to carry on a conversation with some stranger.
19. Your CD-Rom Drawer(s) open and close by themselves. Disk drives and disks fail to open or operate properly. Disks are not accessible. Programs load or unload themselves or, the programs/applications do not operate properly.
20. Documents or messages print on you printer without your request, the printer stops functioning for no mechanical reason.
21. Not receiving automatic Anti-Virus or Firewall updates indicate your software is turned off, expired or has been modified.

Too much stuff in Perry’s lil hat
Setting the scene: Doofenshmirtz, Perry, and Candace are all hiding under a table that is covered with a long white tablecloth. Candace has just found out Perry’s secret and he needs to give her the pamphlet. Gag where he sits for a solid minute rifling through his hat pulling out random gadgets and items, an impossible amount of junk for such a tiny hat, further confusing Candace.
                                            👒        #[    ]”>      👒
Perry reaches into his hat for the pamphlet. His brows scrunch in confusion; he can't find it. He takes off his hat and sets it in his lap, digging through the contents. A grappling gun, a laser pointer, a nondescript ray gun, and a pad of paper with a drawing of his boss and other various notes with sketches.
Candace observes the spectacle in stunned silence.
Doofenshmirtz casually steals Perry's notepad, flipping through it nosily.
“So, how do you know Perry the Platypus?” He asks Candace while skimming the pages. His tone is conversational, and curious.
Candace’s attention lingers on Perry a few seconds more. The platypus pulls out a crossbow, letting out a huff of annoyance through his nostrils.
She turns her attention to Dr. D.
“He's my pet.”
This entire situation was confusing, and it felt weird to call Perry her pet when he was like... this. She always thought he was a mindless animal, but apparently that wasn’t the case? She still wasn’t fully convinced her brothers didn’t have anything to do with this.
Doofenshmirtz snaps to attention at this, abandoning the notepad in his hands.
“Wait a second, wait a second. Your pet?”
He turns to Perry.
“So in your free time, you're this girl’s pet? Like, you're all cuddly and sweet and you've got a little jangly collar with a little bell on it?”
Perry shrugs uncomfortably, refusing to elaborate. It was embarrassing for his nemesis to know such a private part of his life. It was also dangerous. This entire situation was wrong. Candace being within such close proximity to an evil scientist, albeit a relatively incompetent one, made his fur stand on end.
He pulls out a wrench, dropping it with a clang.
Growing frustrated, the monotreme holds his fedora close to his face and peers into it. He can't see the pamphlet. He flips the hat upside down, shaking out the remaining contents.
A hairdryer, a pack of gum, a fake mustache, a compact mirror.
No pamphlet.
“What are you looking for?” Candace asks.
Perry makes a few vague gestures with his hands, but it seems that Candace doesn't understand. Communicating is difficult.
He looks around at the mess of stuff for his notepad, which somehow found its way back into Doof’s hands.
Perry snatches it, ignoring the scientist’s objections.
He writes something, and hands it to Candace who takes it hesitantly.
                             OWCA pamphlet, it’s regulation.

Then & Forever
A/N: I wrote this in like five days and had my bestie edit. This is my first time writing anything, but I love Josh so-
Summary: Since you started working for GVF, you and Josh had grown close to each other over the years. This time you hope your feelings don't get in the way of ruining everything you built.
Contains: Smut, drinking, smoking, cursing
WC: 10.9k
Tumblr media
"So you're saying that. . . you've never played an instrument before?" Sam pointed at his bass. You laughed at the question, sipping your beer. "Correct." Sam furrowed his face in confusion. "Then why do you have a degree IN music if you can't play?" Josh hit Sam on the shoulder with a pencil making a small face. You shrugged your shoulders, swishing the alcohol around your mouth. "I don't know, It's just something I've never wanted to do, you know. I guess it's one thing knowing about an instrument rather than playing it."
Everyone nodded in agreement. "Well, if you did play anything I'm sure you'd be really good at it." Josh smiled towards you. He went back to writing in his journal while everyone else went back to respectively playing their own instruments.
But for you, it seemed a long way home. Never did it cross your mind that you would basically be living with four different people from time to time. Especially not so quickly. Greta Van Fleet was your first job, and really, first anything. From high school until now, you were alone. Which made you a little grumpy when working with people, but none the less you warmed up to them quickly. Especially Josh, who always seemed attached to the hip with you.
Josh may have annoyed you a tiny bit at first, but his euphoric mind is what intrigued you in the first place. He always seemed so wise, knowing the right answer to everything. And the way he wrote the lyrics to songs, just naturally appeared to him somehow. It was truly magic.
Jake smacked you on the arm, calling for your attention. "Ok, what do you think of this." He pulled the guitar over his lap, playing the notes he came up with. You quickly wrote down the notes he played, looking out for any correction. "So what do you think?" He asked, flailing his arms around. Running your pencil down the piece of paper, you started to shake your head. "I think it sounds pretty good," you said looking at Josh, who also nodded his head in compliance. "What would also sound cool is if you gave it a little vibrato during a live show."
Jake smiled writing the commentary down on a sticky note. "You know, for not knowing how to play, you really are smart with this kind of stuff." You glared your eyes at him, snickering just a little bit. Everyone worked for a couple of more hours, before calling it a night. Danny and Sam were practically sleeping on each other.
You shook Sam awake, snatching his car keys from his hand. "We'll both be dead if you drive, and were the most important in the band. Well, besides Danny. And Jake. And Josh." You twirled the keys around your finger while Sam stretched to get awake. Josh flipped all the pages over in his journal, turning to you. "We got pretty far today, don't you think?" Josh smiled at his brothers, who were already arguing about something. "Yeah. Maybe we'll get better stuff done tomorrow, you know. This is supposed to be the 'fun' part," you said using air quotations, "but the most boring part out of everything. But maybe, in the end, it'll all be worth it." you hit Josh's arm softly.
"Are you going with Sam?" you nodded quickly. "Yeah, I kind of promised him I would help him with some stuff in the morning." Josh looked sadder than ever. You smiled at Josh, noticing Sam waiting by the door with Jake and Danny. "I'll see you later." You gave Josh a quick kiss on the head.
"Let's go." you wiggled a finger at Sam, practically dragging him to the car. The ride to Sam's house was fairly quiet other than the little snores coming from him. It was nice to get a moment or two of peace to yourself. Working and living with four grown men gave no room for privacy. Everything is shared between you all. Which you had to admit, scared you a little at first because you've always grown up with a sister and maybe a few girlfriends here and there; but you were never as close to them, then as you were to the band.
The house was quiet when you walked in, dark and dim from the night sky. Sam immediately walked to his bedroom, and passed out on his bed. Which left you alone in the kitchen. Putting some of the items away in cabinets, you looked around at all the brothers' family photos, including some of Danny. It made you smile to yourself to see some of them so young and happy. Maybe a little vulnerable too. You were a little envious of how confident some of them had been with their work, just being able to put themselves out there, accepting failure. Not you though. Failure made you angry, furious even. Sometimes it got so bad, you'd hide away for days without any contact with the outside world.
After putting all the trash away, you headed back to the spare room. You turned on all the lights, changing into some warmer clothing. Crawling under the sheets, sleep came easy that night.
-
When you woke up, the blinds had been left the night before causing you to shoot out of bed. Quickly rubbing your eyes, you went to the bathroom to clean up a bit. When you walked towards the kitchen, your feet padded beneath you. Sam still wasn't up, which was pretty normal. You started some coffee and cooked breakfast for the two of you. Though, something triggered you to open a forbidden drawer and bum a cigarette. Quickly lighting it, you messed around with food until it was cooked.
"A cigarette at 8 in the morning?" Sam questioned groggily, clad in just sweatpants. "Well, you know me; I only smoke when I'm forgetting something." You both said in unison. You quickly waved him off, pouring food onto a plate for both of you. "I wonder WHO you're forgetting." You scrunched your face, looking around the room. "What do you mean who?" Sam scoffed. "Josh," You quickly rolled your eyes, slamming the plate down on the table "Eat the fucking food you loser." You both contently ate in peace while making some playful banter here and there. "So what exactly do you need help with?" Sam pulled out a cigarette from the cartridge, silently lighting.
"I need help with a decision." Sam stared at you while you nodded your in question, pretending like you at least understood what he was talking about. "Look, I just want you to go with me to buy another bass, ok. And I want to go to the record store." Narrowing your eyes, you pulled the cigarette from him. "I feel like this is something completely different than what you're telling me." Sam shook his head slowly. "Nope. I still want to keep the mint-colored bass, but I just want to have a cool collection, you know. Oh, let's buy something expensive!" He pointed the smoke at you, while you collected the dishes to put in the sink. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, please. We can not go broke. Not like last time." You shuddered at the thought.
"Thanks for the food. I'm gonna get ready." You flinched your eyebrows and kept washing the dishes, putting them in the dishwasher. You quickly went back to the room for a change of clothes. By the time you were done, Sam was waiting at the door for you. Grabbing your coat and your shoes, you both headed out the door. Sam was walking coolly beside you, as you both looked around the town. Shops were lining down the small street, with cars passing through. He put his arm around your shoulder as you both passed through large crowds. Finally finding the music shop, you both walked in, heading to a certain section.
"So remind me," He paused to look at a sleek grey bass, flipping it over a couple of times. "Why don't you ever get with Josh? I mean he obviously likes you." You scoffed a little bit at his statement. "I thought we were here for you Sam, not to talk about me." You picked up a dark wood bass, showing it to Sam. "I mean with that same logic why don't I ever get with you? I mean we're close, right?" He rolled his eyes, still playing with the instrument you showed him.
"I think I like this one." Sam brought it up to the counter, talking to the girl up front. Who seemed to really enjoy the conversation they were having. Turning on your heel, you waited by the door playing with some random drum sticks. Sam eventually walked over and led you out. "It'll be delivered in a couple of weeks. I bought a whole new one." You pursed your lips smiling at Sam. "Did you also manage to snag that poor girl's number?"
Sam pushed you upside the head as you walked into the record store. You both parted ways looking at different sections. You flipped through vintage albums, picking out random ones you thought everyone would enjoy. After looking through some more, Sam found you and walked to the front to pay. "You found quite a lot there," Sam said, peeking through the ones in your hand.
"Yeah, figured I could add a bit to my very depressing collection." you chuckled, looking at one of the sleek covers. "Don't you have like two?" you glared back at Sam. "Which I believe are both of your band's albums." Sam laughed. You both paid, bags in hand.
"So what now?" you asked Sam as you both mindlessly walked around. "Probably go home. Want me to take you back?" You nodded in agreement and headed back to his car.
-
After saying goodbye to Sam, you walked back up the stairs to your apartment. When you opened the door, Josh appeared from your room, causing you to nearly break the table in the hallway.
"What the hell Josh!" He shrugged his shoulders, making his way to the couch. "What are you doing here?"
"I was waiting until you got back from hanging out with my brother. What were you two doing anyway?" Pouring a glass of water from the sink, you took a sip, and made your way to the couch next to Josh. You leaned your head back on the cushion, staring at the ceiling. "Sam bought a pretty hefty bass, and bought more records." You looked over at Josh. "What about you?"
"Well you know," he sighed. "Tried to work on writing up some new lyrics. Even went over to Danny's and Jake's to work some stuff out. It's coming along nicely." Setting the cup down on the coffee table, you looped an arm around Josh's, leaning your head on his shoulder. "Good. It'll come out beautifully in the end," you said patting his hand. You sniffed, sitting up in your seat. "Are you staying for dinner?" Josh hummed looking up at you. "Oh yeah. I was actually wondering if I could stay for the night; get's kind of lonely at my place." You nodded.
"Yeah, that's fine." You walked over to the kitchen. "Anything in mind you want to eat?" you asked. "Uh, how about that chicken. The one you make with the rice, mushrooms, and asparagus." You started to pull out the pots and pans, placing them on the stove. You leaned back on the counter watching everything cook. To be quite frank, you didn't know how you would handle Josh staying over. Of course, you and Josh were rather close, it even shocked people that you knew each other so well. After all, he knew you better than your own blood.
Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing. On one hand, it would give you time to think some things over and ponder the questions Sam had asked you earlier today. And then you could for sure decide what you wanted to do. You grabbed some plates and moved the food over to the table. Josh was already seated, patiently awaiting your arrival.
"Looks good, as always." he complimented, raising his hands towards you. "Thanks, Josh." you smiled.
"So," he said, chewing his food. "What happened at the music store?" Rolling your eyes at the thought of Sam annoying you, you told him about how he was flirting with the girl at the front desk. "I mean just giggling, and laughing, it was like watching teenagers make out." You made a small coughing noise thinking about Sam flirting with that poor girl. "But, you know, as they say, there's someone for everyone," you said sarcastically, shaking your head. Josh let out a high-pitched laugh at Sam. "That's Sam for you. He bore you with anything else?"
You thought about all the moments were Sam had bullied you over liking Josh or falling in love with Josh. Of course, you loved Josh but you weren't sure whether you were 'in love' with him per se. He was practically your other half. Nobody else could compare to that. But it was hard to decipher whether you even liked him like that. "You know. The usual; stuff about when you all were younger and more embarrassing moments."
Josh covered his face with his hands, groaning. "I hope it wasn't all too bad." He shook his head, eating the last bits of food. "Not at all, actually." As you both finished your plates, you sat in comfortable silence. That was until Josh spoke out about something.
"Hey remember that time- ugh geez, when was it," he asked, pressing on his face. "Probably around the time I first met you, and I pretty much knew then you hated my fucking guts, man" You let out a breath at the thought of Josh thinking you hated him. "But that was also the time I kept catching you listening to the album at the time. Just over and over and over again." Josh just shook his head thinking of you. "I didn't- hate you," you confessed. "I just really didn't know how to be around people so much. I did like that album though." you laughed, pointing at Josh. Who also laughed along with you. "Look, I'm sorry I made you feel that way; I just, I've never really had close friends like you." Before he could say anything back, you picked up the plates, placing them in the sink.
From inside the kitchen, you could hear him talking to his brothers on the phone. The usual screaming, laughing, and anger from whatever stupid joke someone told. It honestly made you wish you were closer to your own sister. Whom you haven't spoken to in the past ten years. After you finished off with the dishes, you walked to your bedroom. Which was hard to admit, but you had an entire wall full of Greta Van Fleet photos from when you first started working with them because you had a hard time telling who was who.
"Oh, I remember these photos!" Josh exclaimed as walked into your room. He marveled at all the photos you had printed out and plastered on the wall. Some even had labels of all the boy's names. "Yeah, a little creepy, don't you think?"
Josh shrugged. "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you didn't know who we were, and I know some people have a hard time differentiating between us twins." You turned around and opened up the bag full of record vinyl, handing some to Josh. "Here, I bought some for you earlier, and I figured I could use some- given the only two I have are from your band." He giggled, flipping through the different albums. "Oh, Bob Dylan! What a legend and old Michael Jackson! Very good stuff." You patted his shoulder as you put away all the other albums on a shelf.
"So, the spare bedroom should be good-" Josh cut you off. "I was hoping to sleep with you, actually. Unless that makes you too uncomfortable." You nearly choked on your own spit when Josh asked you that. You really didn't think he'd be that lonely. "Um, no that's fine. I'm sure I have someone's clothes here you can use." He grinned.
"Thanks." You handed him some spare clothes and left him to change in the bathroom. When you returned he was already tucked in, facing the wall with the pictures. Turning off the light, you quietly slid in next to him. You'd never really been in this much of an intimate situation, no less next to Josh. It wasn't awkward, but it was just hard to decipher the feelings of the both of you, and where he was going with his suggestion. "Can I ask you something?" Josh whispered. He turned around to face you closer.
"What was your initial thought when you first met me?" You laughed a little to yourself. "When I first met you I wanted to be exactly like you." Josh propped himself up on his elbow, leaning even closer to you.
"What about me?" he asked. "I don't know. You were always so confident, and the way you carried yourself; just, it made me so mad and angry that I couldn't be like that. Maybe that's why it came off that I hated you a little bit." Josh laid back down.
"Listen, you'll always be the best thing that happened to me. When I first met you, I thought you had the most brilliant mind out of everyone I ever met. Except for Danny. He's got an excellent brain." You smacked his arm laughing out loud.
"Thank you, Josh." You rolled over onto your side, hoping to fall asleep soon. Before you did though, you felt Josh slip an arm around your side; his face falling into the back of your neck. Soon, both of you fell asleep together.
-
When morning came the next day, Josh was still entangled in your back, but this time his arm was hugging you tighter. At any slight movement, he just pulled you closer. Finally giving up from moving away from Josh, you laid there silently in his arms. You silently traced the creases in his hand, thinking absentmindedly. He stirred a tiny bit but never woke. You took this time to turn around and look at him. His arm still wrapped around tightly on your shoulder; causing you to bury your face into his chest.
Inhaling his warm scent, you just about closed your eyes imagining a world where you were in love with him, and he loved you back. At this moment, he started to finally wake up. You decided to keep your eyes closed, too embarrassed to see what his reaction would be to find you both like this. You could feel Josh's eyes looking around the room before they made their way down to you. Feeling the certainty of him staring down at you made you panic a little. But then you could feel his hand start to part through your hair, moving it out of your face. His movement followed by leaning forward, giving you a long slow kiss on the forehead.
Then there was the fine sensation of his lips lingering on your skin. He started whispering your name, shaking you awake. You slowly blinked your eyes to make it look like you hadn't really been awake all this time. He smiled brightly when you both made eye contact. "Good morning," he said softly. You smiled, placing a hand on his chest. "Good morning Josh."
Letting out a little yawn, you turned over and sat up on the side of the bed. You sipped on some water that had been on you bedside for a while, then stretched out. "What do you plan on doing today?" you asked groggily. "Everyone wanted to meet up today and go over some stuff. Wanna join?" you quickly nodded your head.
"Great. Well then, I'll go take a shower and get ready." He walked away silently, leaving you all alone once more. Deciding against the better of things, you too got up to shower. While waiting for the water to heat up, you traced against the spots where Josh's hand had been.
It's like there was a space left on you, but you could only feel the invisible touch leftover from him. Jumping in the shower felt like you were committing a terrible sin. The handprint of Josh washed away as every drop of water hit your body. But it felt just as warm and comforting as him. After quickly getting dressed, you met Josh at the front door who was holding it open for you. The crisp autumn air surprised you in the face when you walked outside. The sidewalks weren't too busy but crowded to perfection
You both got in the car and drove to the studio. Everyone was already there by the time you two made it; For some reason, Josh had wanted to stop to get everyone coffee and a bagel, which you really couldn't say no to. Sam raised his eyebrows at you when you walked in with Josh pretty late. You hit him on the arm lightly. Sam rubbed the part of his arm, cursing you off. Everyone, including you, walked into a backroom set with all the instruments anyone could think of, and two very well-loved on couches.
The lights in the room were set to a dim, vintage-style brown, illuminating everyone's tan features. Josh handed the food out, starting the conversation. It varied from topic to topic.
"How is everyone?"
"Are there new ideas anyone wants to talk about?"
"How about we do this instead of that."
Josh snapped his fingers in front of your face, waving his hand around. "Hey silly, I asked you a question." you looked up quickly, meeting everyone's gaze. "Huh?"
"I said do you have any ideas on what we should wear?" You pulled out a small sketchbook from your jacket pocket showing Josh, and the rest of the band on the different aesthetics for clothing. "I was thinking about stitching some nudity art on the back for Josh. I'll probably go shopping for some silk and thread. I found this really cool jacket piece for Jake; I'll add some things on it, and a shiny blazer for Sam. As for Danny, I found these really nice pants, but I have to tailor them. I'm still trying to find a smooth shirt to go with."
You wrote down some reminder notes giving the rest some time to process anything and get started. Josh sat next to you on one of the couches, pulling out his note journal. He pointed out some of the lyrics, whispering to himself before showing it to you. "I came up with these this morning." your cheeks turned red, though you doubt Josh could see given how dark it was. You read through the lines in each glorious manner. They each had a delicate touch to them, written with something personal
It reminded you of something ethereal. Like being in outer space, and getting to look at all the planets from afar. "What are you thinking?" Josh asked. You let out a short breath before answering. "I think it's good. Really good in fact. I can feel it's personal to you, you know."
Before he could respond, there was a line of curses causing you both to look up. Jake was yelling at himself and the guitar in his hands with a tiny string poking out from the neck of the guitar.
"This fucking piece of shit keeps breaking," he he groaned, with gritted teeth. Rolling your eyes, you went to the other grabbing some new guitar strings. Handing them back Jake, he mumbled out a thank you. "Guess what, it's not that hard to get up and get new strings, Jake. I just did it by myself." Everyone laughed at your taunting to Jake, getting rid of his frustrated mood.
"Well, you're the best." He poked your shoulder. You headed back to another room to think about some more things. Possibly about Josh; but the majority for the band. Really working with them, never gave you time to put yourself out there. Which wasn't a terrible thing. In fact, you preferred not to out. You've always had a one-track mind. Focused too much on one thing, forgetting completely about anything else. It's probably why you'd failed out of most schools during your high school and college career. It always ended up being too much for your brain to handle.
Maybe that's what you feared most. Things always getting in the way; either making you angry, or angry enough to run away and never look back. You didn't want that with Josh. Nor did you want that for this band. You made some more scratch notes, listening to the muffled sound of music. After a while, you doodled in your notebook for some clothing ideas. Stitching had been one of the many skills that stuck with you since when. You never really knew where you learned to do such a thing.
Josh always told you how marvelous your work was. That it belonged in a museum of some sort. He knew somehow that you'd do great things with art. When sketching became boring, you shopped around online for some fabric, and thread, ordering what you needed. When finished some smaller portions of work, you fell back on the couch pushing your hair out of your face. Josh walked in at the right time, pulling you back into the studio.
"We hashed some things out, figured what don't and do want for some of the songs. Think we'll be ready to record in a few weeks." All the boys cheered each other on, pushing each other around. "I think this calls for a celebration over some drinks."
"Great idea. There's a bar a couple of blocks from here. What do you say?" Everyone hummed in agreement, piling out the door. Josh had a hand on your back as he walked you out through all the doors.
-
When you walked inside there were a few people seated around. It wasn't overbearing crazy. Everyone took a seat at the bar ordering drinks. You had already taken a couple of tequila shots to loosen up for the night. "So tell me," Josh slouched down in his seat. "What do you think the future holds for this band." You giggled, already a little drunk.
"What I think doesn't matter Josh. I think that you'll be successful in whatever you choose to do. I think it's you as the leader to help everyone along. In my opinion, they're here to support you and your ideas. I mean, of course, they have their own input but you get what I'm saying." Josh nodded along, sipping his drink. "That's quite a mouthful, but yeah. I'd do anything for these people. For Christ's sake, three of them are my brothers. And Danny I've known for like ever." He pointed to them, which they were all fighting about something.
Josh shook his head, looking down at the floor. He placed a hand on your shoulder as he left for another drink. Sam soon replaced Josh, slouching in the same position. "What were you two talking about." He waved a finger around your face. To which, you quickly swatted away. "He loves you, Sam. We love you. I love you, Sam."
Sam pursed his lips, squinting his eyes. "You're that drunk already?" You hummed looking at your watch seeing as only twenty minutes had passed. "Well Sam, the night's still young, so I'm willing to get fucking wasted if you are." He quickly nodded his head, ordering the two of you more drinks. As the night went on, all of you managed to play twelve rounds of pool (none of which you won), a game of cards, and meet totally random people. You, including the boys, were completely wasted and it wasn't even one in the morning. Danny and Jake had left to go god knows where, leaving you, Sam, and Josh talking to some random girl at a table. Looking over at Josh, you felt your heart hurt a little.
Sometimes you wish you had the assertiveness that Josh had to talk to him. Deep down you knew he would never reject you. He would randomly bring up why you never got together, but you always dismissed the conversation too scared of what might happen. Sam slipped next to you, turning his chair around to face you. He followed your line of sight, his eyes landing on Josh laughing with the same girl who's been here for hours.
"Look, if it pisses you off that much, talk to him later. It's not like he's gonna hate you for the rest of his life. He practically loves you to death." You shook your head, taking another drink of your beer. "I'm just- I'm not mad- I'll just never be able to be that person who can just randomly walk up to a person and fall 'in love' with them." You cried. Every time you think about it, you just want to go to bed and hide. "But how come I never end up with people like you or Jake or even sweet people like Danny. Why does it have to be Josh?"
Sam sat up in his chair, turning it back around to face the bar. "Why don't you try it. Maybe you fighting inside that big head of yours really doesn't like Josh after all." Sam said as he cradled your face, shaking it around. "Really?" Sam shrugged. "What's the worse that can happen? If something happens, so be it. Never hurts to try anything."
Sam bent down quickly, kissing you softly. His lips felt smooth against yours like running a hand over pliable silk. He swiftly ran a hand through your hair, pulling your face closer to his. Finally, he pulled away, smiling down at you.
"Nope." you shook your head. "Well hey, at least we know." He patted your shoulder, walking away towards a game of cards being played.
-
The next day you woke up with an intense headache. There was some leftover water and Ibuprofen on your nightstand. You didn't know how you made it back home or really remember anything at all from the night before.
You downed the pill and some water, making your way slowly to the bathroom, balancing yourself on a wall. You turned on the shower letting the hot water settle the uneasiness in your stomach. The pounding inside your head kept going on for what felt like hours. It didn't help either that you were trying so hard to remember the night before. Of course, you knew that you drank more than you could handle. Then there was Sam. But it all stopped there.
The shower helped a little bit. You danced around to find some clothes to get ready, or at least look decent. After getting ready, you drove back to Sam's. When he opened the door, you noticed Jake and Danny were there already. Except for no Josh. Not that it was out of the ordinary, it was just something you expected.
You made your way through his kitchen, pulling out a cigarette. "I don't think you really wanna be smoking that right now." You glared at him before putting the smoke out. "Um, do you remember what happened last night?" You asked, rubbing the small spot on your head in hopes to get rid of the pain. Sam bit into a piece of food, answering with his mouth full. "We kissed. Yeah," he nodded in assurance. "Yeah, we kissed." You let your head fall into your hands, groaning.
"How'd I get home?" Sam hummed, pointing his piece of food at you. "Josh. Although, he seemed pretty pissed at me. You were also super drunk." Right, you thought. Of course, this would happen to you. Partially you blamed yourself for being so stuck-up and bitchy most of the time, but part of you wishes Sam just pushed you away. Why were you so indecisive all the damn time? For once, it would be nice if you could make a whole-hearted decision without going out and fucking everything up.
You scratched around your eye, watching Sam as he went to go sit next to Jake.
4 weeks later. . .
It really had been almost a whole month that you had gone without talking to Josh. Some nights you wish you could pick up your phone and just text him, but you know it would go unnoticed. It hurt just a little bit. Every day you blamed yourself for screwing things up. When was it not your fault that something went wrong?
You sat bored at home. You tried to catch up on different things like laundry, cleaning, reorganizing literally everything, but nothing seemed to work. You muffled curses under your breath at nothing. That was until you got a text from Jake saying that everyone needed your 'strong womanly brain' to work with. Over the four-week period, you hadn't really talked with the other band members except for Danny (who seriously cares for anybody and everything), and Sam who just random stuff.
You flipped through a random magazine, flipping through the pages reading about the different styles and how to flaunt them. That was until a text from Sam disturbed you saying that everyone needed you at the studio ASAP.
You ran to your door faster than ever, quickly putting on your coat and shoes. When you arrived, no one was seen at first, so you went to the back and everyone was gathered around in a large, huddled circle. Jake was the first to greet you, Sam following close behind.
"Hey! I haven't seen you in a long time." Jake towered over you, pulling you into his side. "Yeah, my mom called. Wanted me to go see her." you lied, looking at Sam, who had just turned in the other direction. "Well, I hope she's doing good. Look, I wanted to see your opinion on some things. Just general stuff, okay?" you nodded. He led you back to a table and passed some papers around, and a little CD that had pre-recorded music. Before any of you could speak though, a door creaked loudly, and out came Josh with a petite girl beside him. His smile immediately disappeared when his eyes landed on you.
The girl looked. . . nice. In other words, she looked like a pleasant enough girl Josh would pick from a crowd. She had a tan, rich skin like his. With wavy, brown hair. Unlike Josh, she had more hazel-green eyes. Everyone stood there awkwardly, looking around at each other. You scratched the top of your head, eyes facing down towards the table. Jake cleared his throat before grabbing a seat for Josh, and the girl.
And of course, to make more room they were both seated in between you and Jake, making her sit right next to you. You smiled nervously towards her as she got herself situated. For a while, you stared at the velvet walls as Jake led on the conversation. You felt a little poke on your arm and noticed she was trying to talk to you.
"Hi, I'm Logan," she whispered. The one thing you noticed about Logan was her smile. It reminded you of Josh. His naturally bright teeth could make anyone instantly happier. "Y/N," you said curtly. You weren't the one to start a conversation, but luckily she made it easy.
"So, how do you know Josh?" she asked, pointing to him. You played around with your nails, turning to look at her. "Uh, I work for him," Not 'I'm his best friend or anything. Totally just ruined the relationship I had by kissing his younger brother because I'm really in love with the man your dating' "And them too, of course." you gave a hesitant laugh, pointing to the rest of them. She bit her lip, turning to listen to the conversation, and then back to you.
"How long have you known all of them, or like worked for them I guess?"
"Around three years. This will be my fourth I think." she nodded with your answer. Finally, she turned back around to listen to what Josh was saying.
You looked back down at the disc, swirling it around on the table. This is hard, you thought. It's all you can think about. Logan's so kind towards you; not the weirdly hostile type. She's not annoying, not inconclusive about anything. Logan's perfect in her own way. She's perfect to Josh. Something you've always wanted, but you, yourself stopped you from having.
"So, uh Y/N, can you take a listen to the CD?" Jake asked you. "Yeah. It'll just be a little later though. I have to finish some other stuff." There was silence as everyone stared at you. Including Josh, who seemed to have a permanent look on you.
"I can listen; if you're busy," Logan speaking up caught you by surprise. It may have angered you a bit because that was your job, to listen. You just looked back at Sam anxiously, who shook his head at you.
"Oh, my bad," Josh said loudly. "This is my girlfriend- Logan. Who you have all met before, but not Y/N. Forgot to introduce you two." If everyone hadn't been in the room right now, you would've gotten up and hit him right across the head. Logan kindly smiled back at you. "Yeah, we were talking earlier," She said pointing to you. "Well, as I said, I can listen if you can't."
If it was anybody else, you would've said something back already. But who were you to yell at this kind, beautiful woman next to you? Though, Sam must've read you wrong since quietly grabbed your wrist. "Sure," you said, handing the CD to Logan. Sitting back in your chair, defeated, what else were you supposed to do?
-
Another lousy week passed, and you wanted to jump off a roof. It had been raining for the past few days, never letting up once. No one had really made contact with you except Danny (you secretly loved him to death), and Sam. You were pretty sure the rest had picked up on the tense atmosphere and didn't want to bother you. No doubt, you probably wouldn't want to speak with yourself either.
You shrugged off a sweater, playing with the end of your sheets. Life was so boring now without any entertainment from anyone. You eventually rolled over on your back, staring a hole into the ceiling. You went over every excuse and explanation you could give to Josh. You understood why he was mad, you figured that much. But sometimes you wish he had his smart wisdom back to understand you better.
You fell to the floor sometime later, reading something random off the shelf. You flipped through the pages mindlessly before you heard some knocking at your door. You ran quickly, opening the door to find Sam standing there with bottles of gin and tequila in his hand. Laughing quietly, you led him inside, finding some bottles for drinks.
"What brings you around?" you raised your eyebrows, pouring some tequila for you and Sam. "Josh," he cleared his throat, taking a few sips. "What about Josh?" Trying to hold your breath, made you curious as to why Josh's younger brother was so angry at him. In fact, you wanted to burst out laughing. "He's so stubborn with everything, and the way he talks about you. God- it's like- I've never seen so much hatred from him." Sam shook his head downing the rest of his drink. He poured some more in his cup and your cup.
You took Sam's hand leading him to your room. You put on Labi Siffre, an old, classic album. You also turned on one of your dim colored lights. They lit up Sam's cheekbones perfectly, making his pale skin glow flawlessly. It looked smooth enough to run a finger over and feel the gentle, velvety skin of Sam.
"How does he talk about me?" Sam closed his eyes, thinking. "He just doesn't let go of the subject. Anytime you or I come up, it's just this rage of fury from him. He almost shuts down essentially. You know," he burped. "They all went out tonight."
You hummed at that. "They all went out, leaving behind you and me." You scoffed at the thought of Josh with Logan at your favorite bar or restaurant. "I'm so sorry Sam." You rubbed his arm, looking down at the floor next to your bed. "That was you and your brother's relationship, and I just," you flicked your hands, making a whoosh sound. Sam laughed, leaning into your side. "Don't worry about it. I like helping you out. Josh can be a little much sometimes."
You elbowed him in the side thinking about something. "Hey whatever happened to the girl from the music shop? You ever talk to her lately?"
"Yeah," he huffed out. "We've been talking lately. She wants to meet up sometime soon, but I don't know." You cocked your head to the side. "Why not. You clearly like her and she really likes you. I don't remember when the last time some actually liked you." Sam pretended he was hurt, pushing you to the side. "I'll ask her sometime when I'm not busy. She's nice."
"And pretty?" you questioned. Sam let out a laugh, swirling the alcohol in his cup. "Very pretty." You both let out sighs sitting in comfortable silence. Although, your mind was occupied with thoughts of Josh, swirling around and never-ending. There were times you just wanted to get up and say fuck it and try to at least explain. But of course, the rejection of him never wanting to be your friend again would kill you. Maybe this was the universe's cruel way of saying you and Josh were never meant to be together in the first place.
If so, you hated it.
-
Surprisingly, Sam was the first to wake up. Which rarely happens considering how well you knew him. The poor boy slept through everything. He started shaking you awake, poking and tickling your sides. "Are you dead, jeez?" You quickly rubbed your eyes, sitting up. "Sorry, the alcohol must've really knocked me out." Sam stifled a yawn, sitting on the edge of your bed. "Well, we can do one of two things today," he noted. "We can either go to the studio and face my brother, or we can- do nothing else. That's really it. I kind of swore I would be there today."
You couldn't stay inside any longer. You decided against the greater good to tag along with Sam. Maybe you could talk with Josh, and clear the air. "Can I go with you?" Sam nodded feverishly. "Of course; that's like your job."
"It doesn't feel like it. Logan's pretty much taking over, so what's the point of me." You scoffed thinking of the mellow girl who seemed to get along with everyone. You hated to slander her, but you just wanted Josh back. You and Sam left in a rush, hastily driving to the studio. You walked inside with a cigarette dangling from your lips, smoke escaping through your nose. Sweat seeped from your palms making you excited and nervous at the same time. You felt like an outsider coming in on your job. Thinking about seeing Josh made it worse.
"Hello, Hello Y/N" Danny strutted over, hairs sticking to his forehead. He pulled you in for a tight hug, nearly suffocating you. "Hey, Daniel." you moved the hairs around his face so you could see him better. "Long time, no see, man." He laughed walking back to his seat behind the drum kit. You followed Sam to the other rooms where Jake and Josh might be hiding. Sure enough, Josh was standing next to his twin, listening to a riff he was playing. They immediately stopped talking to each other. Josh scoffed at you as Sam led you inside, beside him.
"Look what the cat dragged in!" Josh said it lowly, spitting it towards you. Your eyes looked down, not daring to ever lookup. "Hey Josh," Sam patted him on the shoulder. You looked awkwardly around the room looking for a means to escape. When you realized there wasn't one, you looked back at Josh. He quietly talked to Jake about something before turning to you. You tried to look away fast enough, but his eyes caught yours. Josh started to stalk close to you, exhaling a breath. "Hey," you thought he might've not heard you, but his response caught you off guard.
"Hey, Y/N" He sniffled a little bit before turning towards you. "Care to take a walk with me? Could use some fresh air." You nodded your head silently, following after him. If your anxiety hadn't kicked in yet, it sure as hell did now. Josh was never a person to scare you. He was too light and giddy for him to be somewhat freighting.
He walked slightly behind you with a hand on the small of your back. Josh eventually let go of you when you both made it to the sidewalk. The people around you made the silence slightly more comfortable but you wished you had something to think about other than Josh. After a few more moments of silence, you decided to speak up, but Josh beat you to it. "I'm sorry for being an ass," he cleared it all out on one breath. You scoffed at him. "I think you were being more than an ass, Josh." He suddenly slowed his walking to match your pace.
"You pretty much left me in the wind. I thought I lost my best friend," you nudged him softly in the ribcage, laughing. He held a hand over his chest, heaving out a relieved breath. "I thought you were going to hate me forever." You pointed at him before saying: "Pull anything like that again, and I'll do more than just hate you forever."
Josh held his hands up abruptly like you had caught him stealing something. "I promise." You smirked. The both of you walked around endlessly making small talk here and there. Part of you was glad that you and Josh had cleared the air. Although, you hadn't really talked with him about Sam. It embarrassed you just thinking about the whole situation.
After you made a full round of the streets, Josh walked you back inside the studio. It was hours before anyone ever got to go home. The moon had fully risen and was shining brightly in the sky. You stared up like a child, holding on tightly to your coat. When you were making your way towards Sam's car Josh had grabbed you by the elbow.
"Y/N," Josh fiddled around with the collar of his jacket, looking down at the concrete. Even though it was pitch black outside, you could tell Josh's face was heating up. "I was wondering if you wanted to come back with me? I know Sam was taking you home, but I still feel like we need to talk." A small smile started to quickly form. You nodded not thinking about the harm that could come from staying with Josh.
"Yeah, sure." you let a hesitant sigh before following him once more. When you arrived inside Josh's home it felt almost foreign. There were slightly disheveled things around, but nothing had really changed. It still had all the same scattered records on the coffee table as well as random books set around the countertops. Josh flipped on the light switch and went towards the kitchen. He came back out and handed you a cup of water before taking off his coat.
"I know, it's been a long time since we spoke," he started. "or even hung out together."
You nodded, sipping some of the water. "Yeah, I kind of missed that."
-
After you and Josh got situated, he led you back to his room. There was a dim lamp, along with some new fairy lights scattered around the ceiling. "Fairy lights?" You pointed to the little bulbs sparkling brightly. "Oh, yeah," Josh was picking out a record, finally placing it on the player. It was an album you hadn't heard before, but it seemed to fit the mood well enough. Looking around for a little bit longer you come to find some old pictures on the floor. Squatting down, you noticed they were photos of his brothers and Daniel when they were younger. But what really caught your attention was a stack neatly dedicated to you.
Some of the photos had showcased some of you and Josh's late adventures, and the concerts you had appeared to. One in particular in which Josh had his arms wrapped around your middle, seated around a bonfire. That was a night you remember very clearly. That was when you realized how much you loved Josh. He never left your side and coddled you close to him. The memory warmed your heart making it beat a tiny bit faster.
"That was a very hot summer night if I remember correctly." Josh peered over your shoulder, studying the picture. "Yeah, it was. Then I passed out inside the van right after that," you laughed loudly, tossing your head back. Running a finger over your face in the picture still reminiscing on the sweet memory, you could feel Josh watching you from across the room.
"Can you come up here for a sec?" Josh patted his mattress, motioning to you. You could tell he was nervous still when he started to fumble around with his nails, not making much eye contact. "Do you remember when I asked you why you envied me so much?" He let out a slow breath, nudging you a little bit with his elbow. You realized the change in the situation and started to mirror his nervous tics.
"Yeah, I just- wish I could carry myself like you. You're always the most confident person in the room; you know things Josh that no one could ever know." The two of you sat in silence for a little bit after you answered. Josh hesitated before speaking again but continued on after pondering for a bit. "Well, I never felt that way around you. For the longest time, I would beat myself up just thinking about how wonderful you are Y/N. The way you think of me is how I always thought of you. Just not as confident because of how quiet you are sometimes." He laughed out the last part making you smile back.
"God, sometimes I just want to cry because of how amazing you are Y/N. Everything you've done for this band, everything you've done for me; I just - I love you." You slowly turned your head to look at Josh, replaying the words over and over again in your head.
He loves you.
"I'm going to assume you mean in it in that way Josh or this would be very embarrassing." Josh snickered, putting both hands on the side of your face. "I mean it in every way possible." He finally pressed his lips to yours, feeling the velvet touch of each other. Josh ran his fingers through your hair, pressing his tongue in an open-mouthed kiss. You moaned quietly when he started to press kisses along your jaw, down to your neck. You could feel his hands start to travel down to your waist, hugging you tightly as it showed in the picture.
Josh continued to bite down on your skin and sucked, leaving bright red marks behind. His fingers squeezed down on your hips before traveling under your shirt. He placed a knee between your legs, pushing you further into the mattress. You looked at each other momentarily as Josh slipped you out of your shirt. He ran his hands over your stomach making you flinch at the sudden touch.
"Josh," His name came out as a whine as Josh slipped off your bra, throwing it towards the floor. You caught the look of awe when his eyes landed on your breasts, your chest heaving slightly. He returned to kissing down your neck making his way down your collar bone. Your hands made their way to his hair, tugging at it when his mouth made contact with your nipple.
He sucked gently, swirling his tongue around the hardened bud. All you could think about was the euphoric thoughts running through your brain. All you could see were stars, showing up in random directions making you lost in the feeling. Josh continued for a while before slowly traveling down to your legs.
Josh looked at you for approval, to which you vaguely nodded in return, before pulling off your pants. You shuddered at the delicate touch of his fingers ghosting along your skin. His hands traveled back up your calves, pressing at your thighs. The room suddenly became too hot as his fingers wrapped around the strap of your underwear, pulling them down your legs. Your breathing was so ragged by now that you thought Josh might've pointed it out already, but he continued to stare down at you with the most mesmerizing look in his eyes. You knew at this point if this had been anyone else, you probably would've wanted to hide under the bed. Something so comforting about Josh made it feel natural to in his grasps.
Josh started down at your ankles, pressing hard kisses up your legs. He hovered over your pelvis just before kissing around your clit. Your legs immediately started to close at the feeling, but his hand pushed them back farther. "Josh, oh my god!" You moaned out into nothing. He continued sucking hard on your clit making the stars in your head come closer to earth.
"Josh, please," Your hands pulled at his curls as he lapped around your center. "You're so fucking wet for me Y/N. Jesus," He moaned into your heat making you squirm on the bed.
"Please Josh, use your fingers, please." You whined mercilessly at the thought of coming around his fingers. It wasn't long before you felt two fingers drag inside of you, along with the feeling of him sucking your clit. You could feel yourself getting nearer to your orgasm as he curled his fingers against your g-spot. "Josh, don't fucking stop!"
At the perfect moment, everything seemed to fall apart in the most beautiful way. You leaned your head back into the pillow as your vision turned white with little black dots appearing randomly. Josh's breath fanned over your heat before he stood up to take off some of his clothes.
"Can't really have sex if I'm still dressed like I'm going to fucking prom or something, Jesus." You giggled loudly while you watched him crawl back over you. Josh pressed a soft kiss to your lips, grinding his hips against you. Your hand slowly ran over his chest, grabbing onto his belt. You fumbled around until you managed to get it undone along with his pants. Josh stared at your face, admiring your features. "I don't think I'll be able to take you seriously for much longer if you don't do something," you whispered.
"Oh yeah?" Josh raised an eyebrow, smiling at you. You slowly reached past his briefs making contact with his hard-on, causing him to moan quietly and start kissing you again.
"Uh, I don't think I have any condoms on me; I didn't really envision fucking you tonight." You smirked, wrapping your arms around his neck. "It's okay. I'm on the pill." You pulled his underwear down, hiking your legs around his hips loosely. You could feel yourself getting wetter as he passively rolled his forefinger over your clit. You kissed him hard, sucking on his tongue. "Fuck me, please," you begged. Josh looked deeply into your eyes, then grabbing your legs and wrapping them around his hips, tightly. He teased you, rubbing himself up and down your center.
You exhaled as he entered you, wrapping a hand around his bicep to steady yourself. Josh's head fell into your neck, feeling his warm breath as he trusted in slowly. He lifted his head to kiss you; He used his hand to move the hairs out of your face, wrapping it around your cranium. "You are so- prepossessing." He whispered, his thrust becoming faster.
Your nails dug into his shoulder blades after he set such a brutal pace that you didn't think you'd be able to keep up with. You took note of how his curls stuck to his forehead. Whenever he thrust in, you could feel yourself getting closer and closer. His thrust started to shake the bed only spurring you on more. Your hands grabbed at his torso, holding onto him tightly.
"Josh," you breathed out, words lost as they left your mouth. "Don't stop." Josh looked between your bodies as they pressed together. He thrust in deep, pressing you into the bed further. You cursed under your breath, trying to hold back the moans only releasing small high-pitched whines. Your head fell back against the pillow, all the tension releasing your body slowly. "Fuck," Josh moaned into your collarbone. He tightened his grip on your thigh, quickening his thrusts.
You ran your fingers along the nape of his neck, feeling the little hairs stick to his body. Josh moaned, feeling him cum deep inside you. His head fell into your neck as you both tried to catch your breath. Josh smiled, pressing kisses to your chest before laying down next to you.
"Fuck you're amazing," Josh mumbled into your ear. He wrapped an arm around your shoulder pulling your head to his chest. His hands ran down your arm, squeezing the tiny bit of flesh. "Tell me something I don't already know Joshua." You flipped over onto your side, Josh following in pursuit. He tightened his arm once more around your stomach this time. He pressed small kisses along your shoulder, laying his face into your hair.
"I love you," He mumbled.
"I love you too." You placed your hand over his, peace finding you easy tonight.

When you woke up the next morning, Josh still had you in his arms, snoring softly. Like you, he liked to get up when it was still dark out, but given last night you couldn't blame either of yourselves for wanting to sleep in. Josh woke up sometime after, pressing small kisses into the nape of your neck down to your shoulder blades.
"Good morning," he said quietly, wrapping his legs around yours, pulling his body closer to yours.
"Morning Josh." You closed your eyes allowing the quiet of the room to comfort you. It seemed pretty peaceful outside, from what you could hear at least. But your mind was running a thousand miles a minute. How did a three-year friendship change so drastically? If someone told you that three years later you'd be sleeping with Josh, you probably start cursing them out at the bare minimum. Josh infuriated you at the beginning, but what changed that you couldn't get enough? Maybe it was his style? Everyone loves Josh's style. He doesn't really care what goes together, as long as it fits him and his outrageous personality. Speaking of which, Josh's personality was unspoken of. People turned heads when he walked through doors because he was always the life of the party. Normal people just naturally gravitate towards him. Heck, you couldn't even keep up the 'holding a grudge' façade for too long because Josh helped you. Maybe you thanked him for that instead.
"I think we need to get up," you said, patting his hand. He protested that you two keep sleeping longer because it's too early. "Josh it's like," you squinted your eyes towards the clock. "Nine am." You yelled, pushing his arm of you.
You ran into the bathroom to pee before jumping in the shower. After taking some time cleaning yourself and changing into something more comfortable (which ended up being one of Josh's old college sweatshirts because he insisted you looked really good in them) you both left to the studio. Of course, the first one to greet you was your favorite out of the four, Daniel. After he finished talking with Josh, he led the both of you to a back room. It was a large decorated room that you hadn't really been in much. The walls were in stripes of inverted red along with carpet having a velvet touch to it. Plaques labeled the wall with other types of scandalous music art.
Jake and Sam walked in together already arguing about something. "Lookey here," Jake pulled you into a side hug, and Sam passed you a drink. "I thought my smoking habits were bad, but drinking at ten in the morning?" you tutted Sam away from you, taking a seat at a large table. "It helps me think more clearly."
Josh took a seat next to you, placing a hand on your thigh. "Hey, you never showed me the finish drawing for your clothing ideas." You raised your eyebrows and said: "I wonder why." You cocked your head to the side, and Josh frowned at you. Snickering to yourself, you handed him a sketchbook. "These are- really good, Y/N. I forgot you could draw so well." You doodled around the paper of a sketched-out Josh in what would be fashion attire for next year. "One of my many hobbies."
He patted your leg before turning his attention to his twin. Sam waltzed over to your side, a cigarette hanging from his lips. "Is that my brother's sweatshirt?" You glared at him before answering a subtle yes. Sam gasped in a fake manner, holding a hand across his heart.
"Are you two in love with each other finally?" Sam laughed at you giving him a side-eye. "Good. you make Josh happy." Content with that, he left to go sit next to Danny. You played around with the drawing some more, later on, moving to a computer to work there. Everyone left you alone to go play in another room which seems to help numb the background noise. Though, it didn't last long until Josh walked through the door. He strutted over to you, rubbing a hand on your back before sitting down.
"How's it goin' in there?" You closed the laptop, turning your attention towards him. Josh talked about how everything's coming along nicely, and Jake is stubborn about everything or how Sam is always messing up. You hummed, following along. Not that you would ever tell Josh, but sometimes you never would really listen to what he was saying, but you loved to watch his hand movements or the expressions on his face. It added to his character. "I meant to ask you some time ago, but uh- whatever happened to Logan?" Josh immediately froze, looking down to the floor like a scolded puppy.
"I told her I would talk to her later this week." You shook your head, crossing your arms. "What?"
"Nothing; I was just thinking we wouldn't be in this mess if it weren't for me oodling with your brother." Josh laughed at your choice of words, placing his hand softly on yours. "I think it was both us Y/N."
'Well, in my defense Sam is kind of hot now that I think about it." Josh slapped your shoulder. "Mmmm, you're right Sam does have that 'sense' to him." Time seemed to fly by the five of you, constantly arguing, laughing, or just goofing off with each other. It felt good to be back with everybody, and not walking around on eggshells. Sometimes the moment was so pleasant, you never wanted it to end.
-
It was eerily quiet when you walked inside Josh's home. It was nighttime, and the moon was full, shining brightly through the curtains. "Don't you ever wish you could see the stars?" Josh asked randomly.
"Light pollution man," He mumbled out, yeah, heading towards his bedroom. You peeked outside the window one more time, catching a glimpse of the clouds in the sky. Josh had changed into some comfier clothing and slid under the covers. You followed in pursuit, still wearing his old college t-shirt. "Where do you think we'll be in ten years?" The question had taken you by surprise. You knew he had a tendency to think a lot about the future, which was kind of admirable, but you had a hard time figuring out what the future would hold for you.
"That's hard to tell; Not unless I kill you first, but uh, I think we'll still be together, and so will the band. I guess it's just up to the rest of us." Josh hummed at your input. He flipped over on his side to look at you. "I hope we're together forever." Your face started to blush, although you doubt Josh could see, this time you wished he did.
"Me too." Your voice came out with full confidence knowing every ounce of you could never let him go. "Hey, do you think you'd ever let me wear your outfits after this next tour? They're kind of stylish if I say so myself." Josh laughed out loud. "I don't think they'd fit you, honey." You scoffed, pouting.
"Josh, I hate to break it to you but you're not that big." A playful laugh escaped your mouth while you pinched his arm. He pushed you back in return. "I meant your height." He shook his head. You turned around, allowing Josh to trap you in his arms.
"I hope I get to see you in heaven. If there is one." The sound of his voice made you want to cry. It was soft whisper that it felt so delicate at this moment.
"I think if you've seen me then, you will see me forever."

Buddie Moodboard - No Reservations AU
AKA: The one plot by me wherein Eddie Diaz doesn't just know how to cook but is a stellar chef.
Aspiring star chef Eddie Diaz didn't have it easy the past couple of months, years, even. Ever since he returned from service in Afghanistan, his life continued to be flipped upside-down. His wife left, returned, they tried to mend things, then she died. And now, Eddie is in Los Angeles, trying his best not fail his son again.
His one priority is Christopher, and that's about it.
To make ends meet, his restaurant manager suggests that Eddie finally accepts a sous chef in his kitchen who can also jump in especially during the time he needs to take care of his son. Eddie is less than impressed. He doesn't want to give up control over his kitchen, over his life.
And then his manager has to bring in a wannabe chef who became an Instagram star with his stupid food blog. A food blogger! So no, Eddie is not at all impressed with his new sous chef Evan Buckley, who, by the way, also moves into the apartment across from his.
Because that's just Eddie's luck turned upside-down all over again.
His new sous chef is loud, obnoxious, causes chaos in the kitchen, encourages random dancing sessions for absolutely no reason, and wants to change the items on the menu Eddie spent years perfecting, the perfect blend between modern cuisine and authentic Mexican food.
And Buck - as he insists on being called - talks, talks, talks all the time. About recipes he dug up on a late night google spree, places he's been on his culinary excursions, musing about his stupid pots he insists only he's allowed to use, and just about everything that randomly pops into his head.
To make it even worse: he wants Eddie to talk about himself, too, asking questions about him, his private life. But Eddie doesn't want to talk. He wants to cook and not fail his son as a father.
Yet, he seems to be failing on both fronts fast, despite his efforts. Christopher is still grief-stricken, and to say that there's been a strain on their relationship is likely an understatement.
Eddie can't even cook his son a meal he enjoys these days. Chris barely tolerates the food and otherwise will only have what Eddie's abuela cooks.
But he tries, he keeps on trying, because he loves his son too much to ever consider giving up.
Eddie is just about to lose it when he finds his colleague slash neighbor chilling in his apartment one day, playing video games with Christopher, munching pancakes. Because of course that guy manages to cook his son a meal he enjoys, but Eddie fails to do it.
Fuckin' story of his life.
Apparently, Christopher got home earlier than expected because Eddie's grandmother didn't feel well. Chris lied about Eddie being home, and then rang Buck's doorbell. For some reason. And Buck decided to make himself at home in Eddie's apartment. For some reason.
Because no, to Eddie's mind "I love kids!" is no proper reason, let alone an argument.
The evening service that follows is tense, to put it mildly, and Eddie can't get home soon enough. Of course, Buck beats him to it, too, chilling on the stairs by the time Eddie makes his way to his apartment.
On the upside, Buck is tight-lipped for a change, which suits Eddie fine.
When Eddie takes out the trash some time later - to tidy up the mess his neighbor and his son made, thanks for that, too - he finds Buck still sitting on the stairs.
Just that this time, Eddie notices that Buck is straight-up miserable. When he wants to know what's wrong, Buck, perhaps not entirely unjustified, is right in his face about how Eddie has been treating him the last couple of weeks.
As it turns out, Buck suffers from chronic leg pains ever since an accident on his old job as a firefighter. He took the wrong pill bottle and thus ran empty after the double-shift. Now he can't move up the rest of the stairs, no matter how hard he tries, and Buck is mad and saddened about it.
Eddie offers him a hand, which is likely the absolute least he can do for his - admittedly - shitty behavior. While Buck doesn't dare trust the truce, he doesn't want to camp on the stairs either, so he lets Eddie take him to his apartment and make sure he's settled for the night.
Finally, the two have an honest conversation. Eddie admits to him projecting his frustrations on Buck. Buck has to see that his outgoing behavior may have put Eddie in a tough spot, as he didn't want the personal stuff to come to his work place and didn't have that pressure until Buck applied it. By the end of the night, they come to an agreement to try to better neighbors and colleagues.
"I guess I could use a sous chef to have my back."
"You can have my back anytime, too."
And apparently, that works miracles. Christopher dotes on Buck and Buck soon loves the kid to bits and pieces. At work, the two finally find their rhythm and rock every service, to the point that it starts to freak the other chefs out.
Buck introduces Eddie to Carla to help him manage his son's care better and easier, arguing that he doesn't have to do it all on his own. Eddie takes Buck with to have actual Mexican food from the best of chefs, his abuela. And Buck takes Eddie to the fire station to meet Buck's family, the 118.
And for the first time in a long time, Eddie feels like his life is not flipped upside-down but downside-up.
It doesn't take long for feelings beside trust and friendship to bloom between the two chefs. While it's especially tough for Eddie to come to terms with being into guys, and to start over new after he lost Shannon, he feels happier than he's ever been with Buck by his side.
The same is true for Buck, who finally feels like he found his place, after he was forced out of his own when he had to quit his life as a firefighter. After all that's been, this may be the kind of steady life he's been craving for so long.
Maybe he can finally settle down with someone, someone who won't ghost him like Abby did, or leave him behind like so many others before. While travelling around to get to know new dishes and techniques was fun and he wouldn't want to miss it, Buck longs for a safe haven where he can be himself, unapologetically, and to be loved anyway. And with Eddie and Christopher, he feels like he finally found that place.
Things take a sudden turn from the upside back to the downside when Eddie gets word about Buck being meant to take over as the chef of the restaurant Eddie helped bring to national fame. He can't believe it that Buck would go behind his back like that. He should know how important that job is for Eddie.
They have a huge fight when Eddie confronts him. Buck points out that Eddie's friend and restaurant manager was the one to approach him - and he told him no and quit instead.
"Of course I did."
While Eddie still tries to process the revelations, Buck announces that they are over. He can't believe that Eddie would trust that man more than him after all they've been through.
Eddie tries to apologize, but Buck doesn't want to hear it. Christopher is miserable, Eddie is guilt-stricken, everyone is concerned, and Buck doesn't know where he's standing in life anymore, suddenly afloat again.
To top it all, Christopher runs away after Eddie tells him that he and Buck broke up.
And unknown to Eddie, Buck is making plans to leave L.A. for a while to star in a cooking show. Though really, Buck just wants to save himself the heartbreak of being left behind again. Maybe it's his destiny after all, to be travelling instead of finding a landing place.
Because he found it and he lost it and it isn't coming back.
Or is it?

♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡
It hit us unexpectedly.
The drastic change in how we did everything was overwhelming, and many of us didn’t really think it would be such a big deal at first. It was a silly virus that would be cured within weeks, nothing to really worry about. So everyone continued about their normal lives, happy that the virus wasn’t in their country, happy it wasn’t them. It simply wasn’t our problem right?
Wrong.
Everything flipped and turned upside down when the unknown and mysterious virus finally hit Japan. While earlier we thought it wasn’t our problem, what are we supposed to say now that it's at our front door? Affecting our neighbors, our friends, our students and our heroes who protect society. No one really cares until it's your problem.
The first death the virus caused made everyone realize just how serious this was. This wasn’t some joke, people's lives were actually in danger and things needed to be done to protect the citizens from a virus that was on a killing spree.
That meant no more social gatherings.
Someone might ask- Well that doesn’t sound too bad? What's wrong with not having to see people?
It was a problem to you, and many others.
Laying in bed day after day, letting the loneliness set in and the worry skyrocket about the current situation. You had taken the simple act of seeing someone in person for granted, and realized just how texting and calling wasn’t the same. You missed going out with friends and doing random things that made you happy. You missed going to the ice cream parlor down the street that would sell you ice cream and soothe all your sad and depressive feelings. What you missed the most was your boyfriend.
The sudden thought of him already made your eyes water and your heart clench. ‘’I miss you Keigo’’ You whispered to the darkness, pulling your warm blanket closer to your body for comfort. The bed that was made for two, suddenly felt way bigger than it needed to be without your boyfriend. ‘’I’m just being selfish, he’s keeping us protected’’
Keigo or Hawks as most society knows him, had been quite busy since the virus broke out in Japan. You’d think villains themselves would stay inside once they heard a virus could kill them, but it was quite the opposite. With no one outside to stop them from their wrongdoings, it was easier for them to commit their daily crimes. So that meant heroes never really got the break they thought they’d get.
While they risked their life everyday to protect citizens, the risk factor was now doubled because of the virus. Heros would continue to go out and protect homes, stores and people who needed it, not letting the virus keep them from doing their job.
It made you happy to know that your boyfriend was doing his job, and probably saving many lives with his patrols. It just hurt that you couldn’t really see him anymore. He was gone before you woke up, and back away after you’ve closed your eyes. You had tried multiple times to keep yourself awake, but never seemed to make it.
You missed his laughter, the way he grinned after getting on your nerves and the stupidly cute smile that would make your heart flutter. You missed his bear hugs and his butterfly kisses all over your face. You missed everything about him down to his annoying antics and crazy eating habits. You had taken it all for granted and now all you had was yourself and the little notes he would leave behind.
‘’I love you Keigo, goodnight baby, stay safe’’ You whispered to the darkness, hoping your words would get to him. Closing your eyes, you snuggled into your body pillow and fell asleep within minutes.
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
A couple hours later, the front door of your home creaked open. A blonde male entered quietly, or what he thought was quiet. His posture was slouched, and the eye bags under his eyes gave a clear giveaway that he was tired. ‘’Shit’’ He glanced at the clock and saw it was around 3 am, meaning you had fallen asleep some time ago. His red wings felt heavier than usual, and the thought of sleeping by the front door so he wouldn’t have to climb the stars to the bedroom, was seeming like a good idea.
Keigo shook that idea out of his head, if anything, he wanted to see you, even if you were already sleeping. He felt filthy, so maybe a shower before he got into bed. Even though he was sprayed with every cleaning spray known to man before coming back to your shared apartment, he still took extra precaution when coming home to you. Constantly checking his temperature, and wearing a mask and goggles to keep you protected. You were his little dole, he’d never get over the regret if he passed a virus on to you.
Slugging upstairs, he yelled in fright when he felt himself falling forward towards the steps. At first he didn’t even fight it, trying to save himself from marks on his face from steps seemed like too much work. However, his wings spread out as much as they could, leaving the males face hovering over the steps he was just about to kiss. ‘’Oh’’ He mumbled, the simple thought to use his wings had flown out of his head. God he was so tired. Standing back up, he carefully treaded up the stairs, trying to be more quiet now that he was getting closer to the bedroom.
Opening the bedroom door as quiet as he could, his yellow eyes found your body first. Walking closer he stared down at your sleeping form, a small smile appearing under his mask. ‘’Hi baby, I’m home’’ he said softly, before he frowned. He noticed the tear lines on your face and his heart suddenly felt heavy. Just the thought of you crying without him here to comfort you was truly heartbreaking. You weren’t the only one who missed their partner, since he was surely feeling the same loneliness as you.
He teared his eyes off of you finally, walking away and into your shared bathroom. Shutting the door behind him, he turned on the light and let gaze find the mirror. His rough appearance made him cringe. His golden blonde hair was matted down poking in every direction, eye bags were prominent and his gorgeous smile was covered by this stupid white mask. Reaching up, he ripped the mask off his face, cringing at the red lines he saw of having to wear it so often.  All of this sucked. Yet if it meant keeping you and others safe, he would wear this mask for eternity.
About an hour later, he’d showered and dressed in the clothes he’d be sleeping in. All today's grime and cleaning products washed off his skin leaving it spotless. As he stood in front of the mirror, brushing his teeth half heartedly, the thought of you crying earlier was still fresh in his mind. While you wouldn’t tell him you were lonely and wanted more, he knew better. He had been with you for some years now, he knew you inside out. He knew that whilst he had it hard, you were equally suffering.
Within the first two weeks of Covid 19, your student Bakugou Katsuki had caught the virus and was hospitalized due to it. You had cried for 4 days straight, and nothing he said made you feel any better. Being a U.A teacher meant you had worried even more for your students, who were still kids and had places to go.
Keigo felt terrible that he was putting extra stress on you since he still had to do his duties, and that everything wasn’t easy on you just because you were home and hopefully safe.
‘’I’ll make it up, we’ll both have some fun soon’’ He said to himself in the mirror, before spitting out the nasty toothpaste and rinsing his mouth out with some cold water. Finally finishing up, he turned the bathroom light off and trudged towards the bed. Climbing in lazily, he wiggled under the comforter you were hogging to yourself. As his head hit the pillow, he had to keep himself from falling asleep on the spot. The soft fluffy pillow almost sent him to heaven. Scooting closer to you, he wrapped his arms around your body and pulled you closer to him, his head resting in the crook of your neck. Your hair didn’t even bother him, if anything the smell of your shampoo calmed him.
‘’I love you y/n, goodnight dove, I’m home and safe’’ Keigo whispered to you before finally letting his eyes slip close, knowing in a few hours he’d be gone again. Yet getting to hold you before he went to sleep always made his mornings and days easier.
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
Sometime before the sun came up, you had felt the bed move, and the warm arms that were keeping you secure left again. You wouldn’t lie, the disappointment you felt hit harder than anything. And when you heard the bedroom lightly shut behind Keigo, you simply wrapped your arms around yourself, hoping to mimic the arms of your lover. Yet his arms and presence were unique, so of course you couldn’t replace his embrace.
You don’t remember falling back asleep, so it confused you when you suddenly felt the bright rays of sun on your face. ‘’Oh, Good morning I guess’’ You mumbled as you sat up, trying to rub the sleepiness out of your eyes.  Shielding your eyes from the sunlight with your right hand, you looked around for the one thing that always made your morning.
‘’There it is!’’ You say happily as you roll out of bed and towards the dresser that was next to the bathroom. On Top of the wooden dresser was a handwritten note covered in chicken stickers, and a red rose next to it. Grinning you grabbed both items and jumped back into bed, excited to see what the dumb bird had wrote for today.
Ever since the pandemic started, and since Keigo had been having long shifts, he’d always left letters for you to read in the morning, and a different coloured rose everyday. It made him leaving easier, and the fact that he spent time writing and putting his feelings into them always sparked joy.
Carefully opening the note, you were met with Keigo’s chicken scratch handwriting. You loved him, but one day you were going to give him writing lessons. You shook your head in amusement, ignoring the bad handwriting, you began reading.
‘Good Morning Chickadee,
I hope you had a good sleep baby, I came home late again but as soon as I had the chance you were in my arms. You cuddled up to me instantly, what if I was some intruder? I guess even in your sleep you recognize me and my godliness.
Anyways, I apologize for once more coming home late beautiful. Work has been a bit stressful, but I believe we’ve put a dent on the villains plans. Only small time villains are really causing trouble, and were handling it pretty well. I think sooner or later we won’t need so much patrolling anymore. Hopefully soon, I wanna spend time with my lil nugget.
Oh! I have some news.
Someway or another, I will get off early today and spend some very much needed time between the two of us.
Not to be too sappy in this letter, but, I really miss you y/n. Way more than words can describe. It’s lonely patrolling instead of being home with you and having fun, and honestly just the thought of coming home to you at night is the only way I’m getting through my days at work.
I miss you and the weird laughter you let out at my god awful jokes, I miss you and the way your eyes sparkle when you look at something you like, I miss you and the way you love me unconditionally even when i’m being a weird asshole.
I love you y/n, and I’ll see you tonight dove.
-The best boyfriend ever
ps. You mumbled my name in your sleep.. Having some good dreams huh ;)’
‘’I hate him so much’’ You say while grinning and holding the note towards your chest, your heart beating like crazy. It was weird he still had this affect on you despite dating for a few years, but you hoped this feeling never went away. Neatly folding the note back to how it was, you crawled to the edge of the bed and pulled out a container that was hidden under the bed. Popping the lid off, you placed the note from today alongside the other notes you’ve received over the weeks.
‘’I love you Keigo’’ You whisper lovingly before closing the box once more, sliding the box back under your bed. Picking up the rose you abandoned, you smiled at it. The red rose was beautiful, and it seemed your lover had taken the time to cut the thorns off it.
Shaking your head with a smile, you stood up and walked out the bedroom, your feet padding against the cold ground. ‘’God it’s freezing” You mumble out loud shivering physically, before heading into the kitchen. Opening the window above the sink, you see a cast of 7 different colored roses from this week alone. ‘’Here's your new home’’ You say softly to the red rose before placing it in the vase next to the others.
Leaning against the sink, your gaze wandered to the window or more specifically what's outside the window. The beautiful flowers that were blooming outside made your mood feel lighter, and hearing the kids laughter who was next door made your heart clench in joy.
You couldn’t wait to start a family with the love of your life.
Now that you were up, you would start your daily routine of going with the flow and seeing where the day would take you. Hoping that Keigo would keep his promise in the note and come home early so you could shower him with much needed affection
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
Sighing, you turned off the tv with the remote, eyes getting tired of staring at the same screen for hours. Looking over at the clock, you read it was currently 8pm. While your boyfriend said he’d be home tonight, it was starting to get late and you were questioning if he’d actually show.
Not that it’s his fault or anything, you knew his job could get stressful. Yet that wouldn’t stop the disappointment that started to set in, which was a very valid feeling.
Standing up you begin to head towards the bathroom, planning to simply take a bath before getting comfy in your bed and reading, a hobby you picked up after quarantine.
‘’HONEY I’M HOME’’
A voice shouts after forcefully kicking down the door, startling you and making you flinch. None other then Takami fucking Keigo was standing at the door, wings tucked neatly behind his back, huge grin on his face and two grocery bags in both hands.
‘’Keigo, you scared me’’ You say with an angry look before everything set in. ‘’Wait.. Keigo..’’ The light bulb in your head turned on and before your brain could process it anymore, you were flying across the room and jumping into your lovers arm.
Keigo let out a grunt at the sudden attack, but smiled at your innocent gesture. He placed the bags down and wrapped his arms around your body, spinning you around as he bear hugged you. ‘’I’ve missed you too’’ He says, kissing the top of your head. ‘’I told you’d I’d be home tonight, I hope you didn’t lose hope’’ He says as he grins down at your sheepish expression.
‘’No worries though’’ He comments before picking back up the backs he previously dropped. ‘’So, I have a whole plan in mind for tonight, which I am very excited for’’ He says before kicking the door shut and walking into the kitchen. He places the bags on the counter, ‘’So just sit back and relax and I’ll make this a date night you’ll never forget.’’
You tilt your head in curiosity, now wanting to know what this bird brain had planned, but you couldn’t help but get excited along with him. It had been a while since the two of you properly hung out with each other. ‘’So Mister ‘’I have everything planned out already’ what's on the agenda right now?
‘’Well Chickadee, we are gonna make dinner together’’ Keigo says with a bright smile, but cringe when he see’s your deadpanned expression. ‘’Don’t look at me like that dove, I promise it isn’t what you think it is’’
You saw through his desperate attempt to lie. ‘’Kiego did you plan on making chicken again’’ You say while staring him down, and when you see his head hang in shame you laugh. Stepping closer to the male you lift his head back up and press a quick kiss against his lips. ‘’It’s okay, I don’t mind having chicken for the seventh time in the row. Your cooking is actually pretty good’ You comment before stepping away, tying up your hair so you could help as well.
‘’WOO!’’ Keigo winked as he gave you finger guns, ‘’Chicken never gets old babe, thought you knew this’’ When you responded by throwing said bag of chicken at him he screeched before catching it and laughing.
You pull out your phone and play your favourite playlist, so the two of you could bop while cooking. ‘’Oh we can make cookies as dessert! It’s the one thing I can actually bake’’ You say sheepishly, sticking out your tongue when your lover nods in agreement.
With that, the two of you jammed quietly as you began the preparation of dinner.
While you were pouring the cups of flour into the big mixing bowl, you suddenly got the idea to terrorize the male who was singing quietly behind you. Scooping some in your hands, you turn around and innocently call out his name. You wait until the perfect moment. Which is when he turns around fast, a small smile on his face as he quirks his brow. He immediately see’s what you're about to do, but it's too late anyways.
You blow the white powder in your hand right at him, watching as he closes his eyes and screams. ‘’Y/N!! IT'S ON NOW’’
And while you thought this was a good idea at first, when you saw Keigo open his eyes and reveal the determination within them, you mentally cursed. And from there started the flour war, with the two of you giggling while throwing flour at each other.
It ended when you were running to throw some flour at him, but ended up instead eating shit and busting your ass on the wooden floor. Keigo, who was concerned, couldn’t help but start laughing as he helped you off, dusting the flour out of your hair. ‘’Oh gosh, we’ve made a mess of the kitchen’’
Looking around he was right, everywhere you looked there was flour, and now the two of you regretted ever touching the damn powder.
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
After some cleaning, and a mini dance session to a couple of songs, the food was finally ready and the two of you sat at the table eating together.
‘’Yeah there was this big spider and I was so scared, I yelled for you and then realized I’d have to get rid of it myself’’ You spoke between bites, your eyes lighting up as you continued telling the story of how a huge spider made its way inside your home.
Kiego just stared at you silently, his mind not even processing your words anymore. You were so cute when you started to ramble, he honestly missed the way you would get so into your stories. Sometimes he didn’t think you were real, you were too perfect. But he was glad you were his, because at the end of the day, he was wholeheartedly yours and he was glad you shared the sentiment.
You two continued to chat as you ate, nothing too important just random chatter to fill the silence. The two of you had so much to tell each other that you didn’t even know much time had passed. Two hours had passed by in the blink of the eye, and you didn’t notice until you glanced at the clock behind you. ‘’Wow it’s getting late’’ You comment, putting the dry dish where it was supposed to go, stepping away from the sink.
Keigo nods, ‘’Time sure does pass when you’re having fun’’ He says with a soft smile, before taking your hand in his, ‘’Come on, I have one more activity I wanna do before sleeping’’ He said as he picked up the last bag that was still sitting on the counter.
You nod, trying to get a peek inside the bag only to be met with him pulling it closer to his body. Letting out a pout, you followed as he pulled you upstairs, nearly sliping as your socks slid across the wooden stairs. ‘’Jeez, the stairs are trying to kill me’’ You complain, glad when the two of you reach the bedroom.
Kiego then whips around, ‘’You should go clean up, you know to get the flour out of your hair’’ He says nervously, and while you wanted to ask why he suddenly started acting weird, a voice inside your head told you just to listen. You simply nodded and gave him a grin, ‘’Okay I will, better not run away while I do’’ You say before going inside the bathroom, shutting the door behind you.
Keigo lets out a deep breath, his eyes drifting to the bag in his hand. ‘’Don’t fail me now’’ he whispered  to himself as encouragement.
♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~♡~
Finally done with washing your hair, and getting the flour out of random places you stared at the door in front of you. It was obvious he was doing something out there since you heard his hard footsteps running all around the place. Yet you wanted to give him all the time he needed, and the fact that he was trying to surprise you was cute.
Suddenly, you hear music start to play, making your brows furrow. It sounded like that one song..
‘’Dove you can come out now,,’’ You heard the slight panic in his voice, which made you nervous too. Pushing those feelings aside, you open the door and slowly peak out.
‘What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down
What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright’
You stand in shock as the lyrics start to reach your ears, which was the song the two of you danced to when he first confessed his love to you. The next thing that almost brought you to tears was the sight in front of you.
Standing in the dim moonlight, your lover was standing proud and tall in the balcony, a nervous smile on his face. Leading up to him were red and pink rose petals, some thrown on the bed as well.
‘’Keigo’’ You whisper as you start walking in his direction, not even caring that the petals stuck to your feet as you walked.
‘My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind’
You finally reach your lover, who in fact still has some flour in his hair. Yet that didn’t matter, because all you could see was his beautiful face, the way his blonde locks flowed in the wind, and how his golden eyes sparkled with an emotion you knew all too well.
Love.
‘’Hi my love, I wanted to end the night really special’’ Keigo whispers as his hands find their way to your waist, pulling you in as your arms wrapped around his neck.
’Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you’
The two of you start to sway to the song, your eyes staring into his honey coloured ones. You were caught in a trance, a trance you didn’t really mind at all.
You loved this man more than anything and anyone you knew. Even when he was being a weirdo or saying unfunny jokes, you always found him entertaining. You loved him and all his imperfections. Arguments never tend to last long between you guys as of the unconditional love you had for one another.
As the song started to come to an end, you laid your head on his shoulder, embracing this moment and engraving it in your mind. Tonight was simply perfect, and while the two of you didn’t do much, you still had a blast with your boyfriend.
’I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh’
You pulled your head off his shoulder when he started to sing the final lines of the song, a genuine smile on his face. ‘’Kei-’’ As the song turns off, he suddenly lets go of your waist and bends down onto one knee, his hand reaching inside his pocket.
‘’ Ah, so here I go’’ The male says as a blush covering  his face and running up to his ears. You stand there shocked, your hands coming up to cover your mouth.
‘’Quarantine has been pretty rough haha, but it has taught me a lesson. The world is a scary place, and when this virus pops out of nowhere, I’ve noticed that anything can happen. It’s scary to think that villains aren’t are only problems, but some killer disease could sweep over and take away our happy lives’’
Keigo takes a deep breath, before putting on a nervous smile.
‘’These last few days that I’ve been apart from you made me realize that I never, NEVER, want to be away from you again. I realized that I want to spend all my time that I have left here with you. Y/N, I love you so much’’ He laughs, ‘’I’ve been nothing but happy with you, and you bring out the best in me, and without you I wouldn’t have found myself. I never thought I’d find love, If anything, I just thought I was made to be a hero and nothing more. But I’ve figured out that I can be a hero and also love you.’’
‘’You are my pride and joy, my dove, my chickadee, my beautiful lover...What I’m trying to say is, I love your last name, But I’d prefer if you’d take mine’’
You giggle at his words, tears slipping down your face. You were speechless, and honestly couldn’t even compel yourself to say anything.
‘’Y/N L/N, will you make me the happiest bird every and marry me?’’
You can’t help the shit eating grin on your face as you stare down at your lover, your best friend and the best thing that has ever happened to you. ‘’Keigo’’ You say as more tears fall down your face, your voice shaking as your brain processes everything that just happened. ‘’Yes duh! Who would say no to you’’ You yell, your bottom lip trembling as he stands up and slips the gorgeous diamond ring onto your finger, kissing the ring after he placed it.
‘’I love you’’ The two of you whisper at the same time, both of you gazing into each other's eyes. The both of you were crying, and it made it more special to see him showing so much emotion.
Keigo leaned in slowly, ‘’I’ve loved you for many years Y/N, and I’ll continue to love you until my dying days’’ He says softly before pressing his lips against yours, one hand holding your cheek and the other bringing your waist closer to him.
And with that, moonlight shined on the newly engaged couple, who still had their whole life ahead of them.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Sharing a curse had its ups and downs.
On the upside, the Owl Beast was no more. And less elixir was needed to combat it now.
On the downside, the Owl Beast was never completely gone. Half-a-beast is what Eda called them, though Luz claimed they looked more like harpies.
Instead of turning into Beasts, Eda and Lilith were plagued with half-transformations, leaving their minds half-conscious.
They could switch, it seemed, between their states of mind. Sometimes they were more sentient, other times they were more beastly. Due to the curse altering their state, it was imperative that they remained calm.
If calm enough, the curse would even eventually settle down on it’s own. Of course, they still took an elixir after the fact, just in case.
Most of this was determined after Eda’s first two transformations with the shared curse. They had gone surprisingly well, since both Luz and King were used to this by now. Aside from a minor amount of damage to the edge of the marketplace, they got off pretty clean.
Eyes, however, had begun to drift towards Lilith.
A first transformation was never meant to go well.
,
Lilith was in the backyard with Amity, showing her how to make illusions like plants or objects seem natural. Luz was sitting crossed-legged in the grass and leaning against the house, watching Amity with rapt interest.
“Keeping an illusion still is simple enough,” Lilith said, almost drawing a spell circle in the air on impulse. “But making it look natural in it’s environments is easier said than done.”
“Wouldn’t that help confuse people if it looked unnatural?” Luz called over.
“Yes, but that’s not the point.” Lilith said calmly, sparing the human a mildly annoyed glance. “Illusions are not only for ambushes and pranks, contrary to what the twins would have you believe.”
Amity snickered, and Lilith’s mouth curved slightly upwards.
“Create an illusion of something simple,” Lilith instructed. “Like a flower or leaf.”
Amity drew a circle in the air and created a black feather, no longer than a finger. She held it in the palm of her head, showing it to Lilith.
“Oooh,” Luz grinned, despite this being rather easy magic.
Lilith raised a brow as Amity ducked her head shyly and muttered under her breath.
“Now,” The witch continued on. “Movement is a very delicate thing.” She said. “Making something life-like is a difficult task, which is why we’re focusing on smaller objects like these. It’s imperative to know the perceived weight of your object and to know what your surroundings feel and look like.”
She glanced to Luz, and deciding to make the most of the situation, gestured for her to stand up.
Luz was surprised but obediently stood, fiddling her hands together.
“Do you have a wind glyph on you?” Lilith questioned.
“Uh,” Luz patted herself down before remembering that was probably a bad idea and felt around much more cautiously.
She eventually pulled out a wind glyph from her cloaks inside pockets, showing it off proudly.
“Good, I want you to get it ready.” Lilith nodded and turned back to Amity.
“When the wind from Luz’s glyph reaches the feather, I want you to move it how you think a real feather would move.” She said. “Be sure to judge the force of the wind and to remember how the feather is shaped.”
“Got it,” Amity nodded, holding the feather higher and focusing on it.
“Luz?” Lilith glanced at the human. “Would you do the honors?”
Luz nodded and held up her glyph, aiming it right towards Amity’s outstretched hand. She activated the glyph and let it go, watching as it disintegrated into the wind and flew towards the green-haired witch.
Once the wind breezed by, the feather rose into the air. Amity was laser-focused on the illusion, making it tilt and turn as it fluttered off, resembling a kayak in the air.
She continued to focus on it until it lay peacefully on the grass, a few meters away from them.
“Not bad,” Lilith praised with a nod. “Perhaps I should’ve started with something harder for you.” She lightly teased.
Amity lit up, her shoulders straightening. Until she forgot to focus on the feather and it poofed out of existence.
“However, with that in mind, the feather was a bit too buoyant.” Lilith continued, holding her hands together. “It looked more like a boat. Feathers usually flip and flutter in the air. Granted, Luz’s wind was a bit too light to show most natural movements.”
“Oh, do you want me to make it stronger next time?” Luz asked, looking at Amity instead of Lilith.
“I would prefer it,” Lilith said, her voice slightly strained.
“Just tell me yes or no, Lilith.” Luz muttered, digging in her pockets again.
Lilith frowned and narrowed her eyes at the human for a moment before decidedly ignoring it. Amity shuffled her feet and cleared her throat awkwardly. She opened her mouth to say something before slowly shutting it again, her eyes drawn to Lilith’s hands.
“Now, while Luz is searching for her glyph, I want you to try something a little heavier.” Lilith continued, turning back to her apprentice. “Perhaps a pencil rolling on the ground, or a sweater.” She said, raising a hand and gesturing with it.
“Of course, that depends on how strong the wind is, so let’s just try with something like a large leaf or…” Lilith paused.
The witch had suddenly gone still, staring at her mentor, face whiter than a sheet and pupils slitted so thin they were like a pen line.
“Amity?” Lilith said, brow creasing in worry.
She followed the witch’s gaze, which wasn’t necessarily on her, but rather her hand.
Her left hand, which she had been gesturing with, was suddenly gnarled and inflamed. Her nails are grown to claws and her skin had hardened into a scale-like texture.
“Luz!” Amity cried, stepping back. “Luz, she’s--it’s the--”
Luz jerked her head up, whirling back to the two. She saw Lilith staring in shock at her hand and in a flash, leapt to her feet.
“Amity, get back!” Luz warned, pulling out a fire glyph she had found in her search for a wind glyph.
Lilith hadn’t moved, transfixed at her hand. More scales popped up and her hand grew in size, feathers sprouting at her wrist and growing along her arm. She raised her other hand and noticed it was beginning to do the same.
She was thinking so much and nothing at all, a blend she despised but couldn’t stop.
,
“Lilith!”
She jerked her head up. Amity had stepped back, closer to Luz, but not close enough. Her eyes were wide and terrified, her ears pressed back.
Lilith had seen this position many times before, and that remembrance sent a spike of pain through her chest.
“Amity,” Lilith breathed, her voice raspy as feathers suddenly sprung up around her arms. “I’m-I’m okay,” She said quickly, reaching out before she sharply pulled back, remembering what her hand looked like.
“We need to go get Eda,” Luz said, grabbing Amity’s shoulder and pulling her gaze away. “Lilith, stay right where you are!”
“You know as well as I that once I am cursed I will have no say in the--”
Lilith’s retort was cut off as there was a loud rip and she snarled, her knees buckling beneath her.
A single wing erupted from her back, soaked and mangled with black feathers that stretched far, far above her head.
Amity jerked back, covering her mouth with her hand as she gasped. Luz turned to her, taking in her horrified look. A part of her would wonder if that’s how she looked during Eda’s transformations.
“We gotta go,” She said, turning Amity away from the sight. “Come on.”
Lilith’s transformation was increasing tenfold, and Luz could tell by her screams of anguish and the sound of flesh and bone ripping and remending behind her.
Luz grabbed Amity’s wrist and ran to the back door, throwing it open. She looked back for just a moment to usher Amity inside, and in those moments she swore she’d never been so scared for a woman like Lilith.
A second wing had grown from her back, were wet and limp. They hung at her sides like shades, and were shaped just like a ravens. She could see a similar jet-black tail poking out of her dress, also wet and tangled. Her hands were enlarged and scaled, with nails like claws. Her feet were worse, and had truly become massive talons. She was sure her legs were no different.
Feathers could be seen coming out of her sleeves and around her neck, sticking up at odd angles. Her ears had elongated, not to the extent of the owl beast, but long enough, with tufts of fur in them.
When Lilith looked up towards them, her eyes were jet black, and her pupils were the color of her eyes.
Luz grabbed Amity’s arm, about to yank the two of them inside the Owl House.
The second Luz touched Amity, and Luz swore it was the millisecond, Lilith’s lips curled back into a growl, exposing dagger-like fangs far too big for her mouth.
Faster than Luz thought possible for her, Lilith lunged towards them, her wings raised over her head and talons extended.
,
Luz yelped and shoved Amity through the door before grabbing and slamming it shut, wincing as she heard, and felt, Lilith ram her body against the wooden door, hissing and snarling as she clawed at it.
“E-Eda was...wasn’t like this...” Amity choked, holding her hands close and stepping away from the door, shaking.
“She was, you just weren’t here.” Luz shook her head, locking the back door and slipping through the kitchen. “The curse switches between a feral or mostly-normal state. Lilith must be too freaked out right now.”
Amity showed no sign of having heard her, only staring in silence at the closed back door.
Luz was about to try and comfort Amity when she paused. She waited and listened.
Not a sound.
Lilith had stopped attacking the door.
The realization chilled Luz to the bone. She took a step back and withdrew an ice glyph, nervously looking around.
“Amity, come h--”
The large kitchen window suddenly smashed to bits, sending glass and random kitchen items falling off the counter and scattering on the floor. Luz leapt forward and grabbed Amity, tugging the both of them down as she covered their heads with her cloak.
Lilith snarled and scrambled up, glass digging into her shoulders and still-wet wings. She dug her claws into the counter and pulled herself up, hissing as her eyes darted about the room.
Luz sprung up and threw her ice glyph, leading it to shoot out towards the cursed witch.
Lilith ducked and the spike went out the broken window. Lilith howled and grabbed the spike, climbing onto it with a shriek and running at the girls.
Luz rolled to the side and so did Amity. Luz stumbled to her feet and searched for another glyph, looking up just in time to see a claw swiping at her.
She jerked back, but Lilith’s claws grazed her face, and Luz quickly felt blood well up around her left eye and blurr her vision.
Lilith pulled back for a moment as Luz stumbled into the kitchen island and slumped to the ground, her breathing rapid as she raised a hand to her bloody eye.
The witch opened her mouth in a roar before a blast of magenta fire struck one of her wings.
She shrieked and flailed about, the dampness of her wings stopping it from catching ablaze as she spun around.
Amity was standing with fire hovering over her hand. She looked furious for a brief moment before terror quickly came back at the realization Lilith was now focused on her.
She attempted to throw another ball of fire at her as she stumbled back. Lilith snarled and lunged for her, her talons slamming into Amity’s shoulders and chest as the girl hit the wall and slumped to the ground, smaller than a mouse in the face of the beast.
Lilith’s wings arched over her head and her maw opened wide, flashing fangs that could split bones in half without a second thought. Amity winced and could only squeeze her eyes shut, turning her head away as Lilith’s claws dug into her flesh, surely creating scars.
Lilith lowered her head till it was inches away from Amity, unaware of the frantic footsteps and slamming of doors as someone ran down the stairs towards the kitchen, where Luz was frantically trying to grab at a plant glyph that had fallen out of her pocket.
She sniffed the girls hair, pausing and making a face that could almost be described as a frown. She clicked and rumbled, her jaw slowly shutting as Amity peeked open an eye.
Lilith tilted her head, eyes narrowed.
“Amity?” She said, her voice husky and growly, but clearly confused, and if Amity didn’t know any better...scared.
“Get off her!”
There was a flash of green, and a massive vine sprung out and wrapped around Lilith’s throat, tearing her off of Amity and sending her crashing to the floor.
Instead of Luz holding the other end of the vine, Amity whirred around to instead see Eda standing in the doorway, gripping the vine for dear life as Lilith thrashed and kicked about on the floor, with King standing behind her and clutching a golden bottle.
Lilith got right back to her feet, hissing and pulling against the vine with a roar. Eda yanked her sister closer, getting ready to take a bottle of elixir from King, who was holding it fearfully.
Luz wiped at the blood over her eye and rushed to Amity’s side. The girl was staring off into nothing, seeming to be in a state of shock.
“Amity? Amity!” Luz waved her hands in front of Amity’s face and shook her shoulder frantically.
Amity perked up then, staring at Luz in surprise, like she had forgotten where she was. Her gaze instantly went to the blood trickling into the human’s eye.
“Luz, you--”
Amity reached for Luz, but they were both startled by a blood-curdling shriek, and both turned back to the fight going on just a few meters away.
Lilith was beating her wings, though they still couldn’t lift her off the ground. She tugged and pulled at the restraint, snapping her jaws. Eda barely dodged as she grabbed the elixir from King, hissing right back at the half-a-beast.
Faint scales were popping up on Eda’s hands, plus feathers on her arms. Luz figured that if there was a reason to worry of Eda transforming at this moment, Eda would’ve told them.
Granted, this entire situation was probably a cause for a concern or two.
Lilith stepped back, her talons clacking against the tile and making a fragile one crack. Luz grabbed Amity and hoisted her to her feet, pulling the two of them back. She held Amity close to her protectively, never taking her non-bloody eye off the witch.
Lilith opened her mouth in another angry shriek, her wings raised high above her head and brushing the ceiling. Eda took her chance and sharply tugged Lilith forward, shoving the open bottle of elixir into Lilith’s mouth.
About half the bottle made its way into her throat before she spat it out, growling and nearly snapping off Eda’s ears for her troubles.
In moments, however, she began to calm.
Lilith’s wings shrunk, and the gnarly scales and size of her hands and feet began to grow fainter and fainter. Her legs gave out from under her, and Lilith tumbled to the floor in a heap.
Her wings were still visible, just far smaller now, and many of her feathers and glimpses of scales could be seen. But when she opened her eyes with a gasp, only one of her eyes were an inky black, the turquoise one completely normal.
A wave of relief swept through the room, and Eda finally relaxed, looking almost ready to fall herself. Luz slowly released Amity, letting the girl stand beside her. She held her sleeve to her eye again and glanced at the girl, who had her hands wringing together close to her chest, looking more anxious than the day before a test.
“Edalyn?” Lilith mumbled, her voice hoarse as she coughed.
She looked down at the bottle of elixir and recoiled, seeing her reflection in the glass. She lifted a hand to her face, feeling around her jet black eye.
King waddled over, brushing by Eda as he took the elixir and held it up to Lilith, out of everyone, giving her a sympathetic look.
Lilith swallowed and mumbled a thanks before drinking the rest of the elixir, shuttering and cringing as the rest of her transformation vanished back into her body.
“You alright?” Eda asked gruffly.
“I...I believe so.” Lilith nodded, still holding the elixir as she stared at the ground. “Is...is this...normal?”
“Wish it wasn’t,” Eda sighed, shaking her head, looking so much older than she already was. “You should’ve seen me when I had the whole curse on my back.”
Lilith’s flinch didn’t go unnoticed, but nobody mentioned it.
Eda’s gaze went to the girls then, and she sprung up the second she saw the blood Luz was trying to hide. She rushed around Lilith, taking Luz’s hand and pulling it away from her eye.
“Is it bad?” Luz asked quietly, looking up at Eda with wide eyes as she wiped away as much blood she could.
“...no,” Eda breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s a bit deep, but you’ll be fine. It just got above your eye, you’ll see.”
Lilith looked back around, shame and horror evident as King stood by the witch, shuffling his feet. She caught sight of Amity’s trembling state and began to sit up, but Eda beat her to it.
“Kid, hey,” Eda said softly, and Amity finally looked up at her. “Is anything broken?”
Amity swallowed and shook her head, looking like a small child after they’d gotten in trouble. She crossed her arms, like she was trying to hide the claw marks dug into her body and through her shirt.
Eda sighed and pulled her arms away right after, wincing at the sight.
“It doesn’t hurt that much,” Amity mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
“Amity,” Lilith breathed, shakily getting to her feet, using a nearby table to help herself up. “Amity, great Titan are you--” “She’ll live, Lilith.” Eda growled, not even sparing a look back.
Lilith slowly turned away, her eyes downcast as she stared at the ground, more specifically, at where her talon had cracked the tile.
“C’mon, let’s see if we can call that healer friend of yours. I’d rather try to avoid risking a hospital visit.” Eda sighed, gently placing an arm on Amity’s back.
Amity nodded numbly, letting Eda guide her past Lilith, who still refused to look up, and out of the kitchen.
Eda glanced at Lilith, and for a brief moment, her anger subsided, and it was replaced with dull sorrow.
She sighed and continued on without a word.
,
King still stood where he was as Eda sat Amity on the couch, grabbing the few healing glyphs she had as Luz called Viney on Amity’s scroll. They fell into a quiet rhythm, trying to ease Amity’s pain before the shock wore off. Luz didn’t even start to worry about her own until Eda instructed her to do so.
King glanced towards Lilith, who was now slumped in a seat at the kitchen table. He fidgeted his claws for a moment before climbing onto one of the chairs and then onto the table, hesitantly walking over until he flopped down by Lilith’s head, which was buried in her arms.
“It’s not so bad,” King said, and Lilith peeked an eye out from behind her hair. “I mean, Eda used to eat any random animal she found in the woods. I’m pretty sure she actually made a small species of bird go extinct in this area.”
Lilith didn’t seem to lighten at all. She moved her arms to look at one of her hands, and King sucked in a breath.
Her fingers were still coated in blood, most of which had to be Amity’s.
“Do you…” King twitched his tail nervously. “Want a hand towel?”
Lilith nodded, never taking her eyes off her hand.
King walked across the table and leapt onto the kitchen island and then to the counter. He picked up a towel that had fallen into the sink and dampened it underneath the faucet.
He carefully stepped around the broken glass, ignoring the smashed window, and jumped back over to the table, holding out the towel.
Lilith looked up then. She stared blankly at the towel for a few moments before taking it from King and wiping it over her hands.
King sat in front of her, lightly tapping his claws on the table, unsure of what to do. He shyly lay a paw on Lilith’s arm, wrapping his tail around himself.
Lilith paused and glanced at King, offering him a small forced smile before it fell again.
“I messed up again, didn’t I?”
King looked back through the kitchen door. Luz was sitting on the floor by Amity, holding paper towels to her eye as she talked to her on occasion before going back to talking on her scroll, presumably to Viney. Eda was still focused on healing the worst of Amity’s marks, her eyes glazed and not at all there.
“I mean, Eda did stuff like this before. I don’t think we can blame you for this one.” He said simply.
Lilith deflated, letting the towel fall back to the table as she hunched her shoulders.
“But, uh, I mean, the curse is different now.” King said quickly. “Once you get the hang of it, then you’ll be perfectly fine. Remember Eda’s last transformation? She was barely any different.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about,” Lilith mumbled. “Edal...she went through decades of this,” She said quietly, curling her hands close to herself. “And now she had to see it from me.”
“She managed,” King shrugged. “I mean, now it’s better for her to deal with.”
“You…” Lilith turned to King before shaking her head. “You have a strange sense of grudges, you know that? You’re always focused on only the present, unless it’s something extremely personal that happened to only you.”
“Amity crushed my cupcake and that is unforgivable.” King huffed, crossing his arms. “But...yeah. I find it easier to focus on the now than the past.” He admitted, appearing to space out for a moment.
“And that’s why you never learn,” Lilith sighed.
“I said I prefer to focus on the present, that doesn’t mean I’m ignoring what happened.” King grumbled, narrowing his eyes. “Last I checked, I’m not the one who has the whole house still mad at her.”
Lilith looked away, holding her chin in her hand as she muttered, but quieted down pretty quickly.
King sat up and fumbled with his tail for a moment, continuously glancing back in the living room, where Amity was now laying back on the couch with Luz happily chatting to her without a care in the world.
His gaze went back to Lilith, who, in stark contrast to the lit living room, was sulking in the dark kitchen, the only light coming through the broken window, only reaching halfway across the table.
Then he finally noticed her back.
“Your bleeding!” King gasped, standing bolt upright.
“Oh, am I?” Lilith mumbled, raising her head and trying to turn back.
The glass that had stuck into her wings from crashing through the window had transferred to her back. Chunks of glass were sticking out, somehow making her black dress even darker as it soaked her upper back and shoulders.
“Eda, Eda!” King called, stumbling and falling off the table before springing right back up. “Lilith’s covered in glass!”
“I’m fine, King,” Lilith hissed, a bit frantic as she tried to reach for him. “I’ve had worse than a bit of…”
Lilith trailed off, spotting two red heels in the doorway. She slowly looked up, facing Eda watching her.
“...I’m okay,” Lilith said, slowly straightening up in her chair, obviously trying to hide a wince. “King’s just being anxious.” She said with a wave of her hand.
Eda huffed, storming over and grabbing Lilith’s shoulder, sharply turning her to get a look at her back, where King was fearfully pointing.
She looked over the injury for only a few moments before releasing her sister and dragging a hand down her face, exasperated.
“Turn around in your chair and I’ll get them out.” Eda sighed. “We’ve got a few spare healing glyphs somewhere, or I can make a few. Is there glass anywhere else?”
Lilith blinked up at her sister, too stunned for words. She shook her head, never taking her eyes off her.
“Just scrapes,” Lilith said quietly. “You don’t have to--”
“You think you can remove glass from your own back?” Eda raised a brow, crossing her arms.
“...I can manage.” Lilith mumbled.
“I can help!” King offered, raising a paw.
“Don’t ask King for help, he’s clumsier than Luz.” Eda said sternly, much to the demon's annoyance.
“Look, I know you don’t want to help me, and I know you’re worried about those two,” Lilith said, keeping her voice from snapping as she gestured towards the living room, where Luz and Amity were quietly talking.
“So please, spare me your pity.” Lilith said, crossing her arms on the table and laying her head on them, turning her head away.
Barely a few seconds later, there was a sudden pain in her back.
Lilith yelped and jerked up, feeling something slide out with a sting. She whirled around, seeing that Eda, with her bare hands, had pulled out a large chunk of glass from between her shoulder blades, revealing it was covered in blood.
“You know,” Eda said, placing the shard on the table in front of Lilith with more force than necessary. “For someone who managed to become the leader of the most powerful coven in the Isles, you’re the most stubborn, idiotic person I know.” She growled.
“You’re no treat yourself,” Lilith grumbled back.
“Nope, no, shut up, shut it.” Eda raised a finger. “This isn’t about one-upping each other. You’re so stubborn that you’d rather bleed out than admit that, for once in your life, you had no control over a situation.”
“I’m not going to die, Edalyn.” Lilith muttered.
“Yes, you’ll be fine, but you know as well as I that if you were that hurt, you still wouldn’t let me at least try to be nice to you.” Eda growled. “Face it, Lily, things are different now. And you don’t have a say in it anymore.”
Lilith gritted her teeth and curled her lip, flashing sharp rows of fangs. She gave a low growl, and Eda reciprocated, revealing her own fangs, her golden tooth noticeably longer than the others, as she gave a deeper growl.
The two stayed in a stare-off for a few seconds, causing King to fearfully hop off the chair, instead hiding underneath it.
That’s when the front door opened.
“Viney!” Luz’s voice drifted into the kitchen. “How did you--”
“I had Puddles fly me,” Viney replied, and you could faintly hear the sounds of cooing outside. “Amity, c’mere, let me see how much you guys managed to patch up.”
Lilith’s growling fell right then, Eda’s following a moment after. She turned her head downwards, her ears pressing back.
“You should go check on them,” She said softly.
“Yeah, I should.” Eda agreed, taking a step back as her eyes narrowed.
She continued to stare at Lilith for a moment longer, and her sister didn’t look up. King crawled out from under the chair, looking up at her with his tail hanging underneath him.
Eda opened her mouth to say something before slowly shutting it again, thinking.
“Tell them I’m sorry,”
Eda almost didn’t hear what Lilith said, her voice was quieter than a whisper. Eda blinked and looked her sister up and down.
“Tell them yourself.” She said instead.
She backed up further, the light coming through the kitchen entryway bathing her as she continued watching Lilith, who continued to sit at the dark table as she turned away.
With that, Eda walked out of the kitchen without another word.
King watched the doorway for a few moments, tuning out the words of the others before climbing back up onto the table by Lilith. He rested his head on her arm, closing his eyes as she used her other hand to stroke his back.
Her eyes stayed transfixed on the glass shard sitting in front of her, the blood already starting to dry on the wooden table.
In the stretching shadows, the shards in her back almost looked like spikes.
