anyway episodes that sam's psychic powers should have come back during. imagine him arguing with this 'i'm a real psychic' guy and then yanking his gun out his hand with his own powers. fully on accident but it happens.
now see there's some drama for him and dean! that would work! sam tried to hide his hallucinations but couldnt. but theoretically he could hide this. and he should! because his brother literally just went and killed a woman for being a little too on the monster side for his liking. for being so evil that she couldn't possibly change. and so if sam's powers came back now? sam's powers? that he has because he has demon blood? he would be so fucking sick with stress trying to hide that from dean.
because. you know. if dean's already jumping for a reason to 'deal with' sam because he's hallucinating, a thing he can't even control. then what else is sam supposed to assume will happen once dean knows about this?

Danny, at 17, did not have the best love life. This is partially because two of his must haves in a partner are " Will protect me with their life" and "Will commit unspeakable acts of violence for me" or at least beat someone up for his honor.
Naturally, this doesn't always result in the most stable of partners.
His first girlfriend, Valerie, became an anti-hero and broke up with him for his safety.
He finally got with Sam in sophomore year only for the feds to come into class one day to arrest her. To his surprise, her crimes had nothing to do with ghosts but rather an incident where she went too far and committed a few acts of economic terrorism. Danny and Tucker never really learned the specifics of the crimes, and her parents hushed up as many news outlets as they could, so there wasn't much info to go around. All they knew was that she saved thousands of lives by doing it.
In the end, she was sentenced to eight years, and she broke up with him so that he wouldn't wait around for her to get out.
His third partner was a guy named David who was really sweet. Unfortunately, Danny got kidnapped one day by David's arch nemesis, who was some villain with a corny edge lord name. Yeah. David had become a a super hero after they started dating.
And if you guessed that he freaked out and dumped Danny for his own protection, you'd deserve a cookie.
Danny was noticing a pattern here. One that continued with everyone he dated. They always became some kind of hero before dumping him for his own protection, and it was infuriating. Sure, danny could defend himself, but he was never deep enough into the relationship to reveal his phantom half, and frankly, his hero career was something he left behind when he left Amity and destroyed the portals.
He met Tim at a skatepark after Tim fell off his board cause of some jerk speeding out in front of him on his own board, forcing Tim to stop or else hit the guy. The guy was unrepentant and Tim calmed him down (this did not stop him from melting the guys wheels with an ectoblast when no one was looking).
Tim then asked him to coffee. Danny, noticing how cute Tim was, agreed.
Danny was up front with his parents being mad scientists in Illinois. He always was with all the people he dated. It was better not to hide these kinds of things or worse, wait until you're already attached and afraid of losing them. So he always told potential partners as early as possible. Tim seemed a bit put off by this but was calmer about it than most, and they continued chatting.
Tim didn't seem like the type to turn to heroism or anti heroism so he felt safe on their later dates. It was only after he had known Tim for a while that he put the pieces together.
Tim was always covered in bruises that he hid with his clothes and make up, he had complained about batman over the phone when he thought danny couldn't hear, he was rich, he knew how to fight as revealed by his stances and footwork dispite trying to pretend he didn't, and lastly he held a lot of political power and influence being Bruce Wayne's son. Power he had no reservations using when it suited him or he was just feeling petty (that pettiness was part of why danny was falling for him harder than he thought he could)
No wonder Tim was so okay with his parents being rouges.
Tim was a villain!
At least Tim wouldn't leave him like all his exes. Danny doesn't think he could handle it if he did. Another good thing about this is now he can talk more freely about the more villainous and morally gray ideas and inventions when he was alone with Tim.
Tim didn't see anything wrong with Danny's idea to use something similar to cloning pods to make synthetic meats like rump roasts and steaks as a way to end world hunger and was eager to add to the conversation.

So I firmly believe that everything Anakin did and said wasn't about him and what he needed to say, it was about what Ahsoka needed to hear and see.
There is so much to unpack within EVERYTHING of that episode but here's my attempt at trying to deconstruct the latter half of the Anakin & Ahsoka scenes:
"Ahsoka, within you will be everything I am"
For 15 years, Ahsoka thought that Anakin had died a Jedi. From the time she was 17 to the time she was 32 - it was a belief she held for her entire adult life! Her training as a Jedi was foundational to who she was (even if she wasn't a Jedi), and being trained by Anakin was the core of her Jedi training. For over a decade, she looked at that inheritance with nothing but pride over who had trained her and where she'd come from. And then she finds out what Anakin became. Obviously it's devastating to see someone who you consider family in the state, and to have them try to kill you! But the thing I'd never considered was how much it would make Ahsoka doubt herself. If Anakin trained Ahsoka - and you can bet she's now going over every memory of Anakin she ever has searching for double meanings, searching for signs of what he would become - what does that make her? What does that say about her training, and about all the lessons that shaped her?
"But my part of that legacy is one of death and war"
On top of that...Ahsoka has been a soldier and then a spy since she was fourteen. She was a literal child soldier! She was trained in nothing but killing and war, and then later had to train herself in killing and spying. Without a war to fight, who is she? Now that peace has (apparently) returned to the galaxy with the end of the Empire, what place does she have? What purpose does she serve? What knowledge of use does she have to pass onto Sabine?
"But you're more than that, because I'm more than that"
This isn't Anakin trying to defend himself, he's pointing out that to Ahsoka he means more than the death he caused, both as Jedi soldier and as Darth Vader. When he trained her, he didn't just teach her how to kill - he taught her how to respect and care about the men under her command, he taught her how to be brave in the face of insurmountable odds, he taught her how to be kind to the innocent. Clone Wars Anakin was just as much a Jedi as he was a solider, and so both trainings are what were passed down to Ahsoka. And his becoming Vader doesn't undo any of that. I don't think Ahsoka had ever figured out how to feel about Anakin's legacy, because how can she respect the man who became a genocidal monster? How can she respect and love and honor the man who tried to kill her? She should - well, not hate him, a Jedi (or even a not-Jedi) doesn't hate - but she should disavow him. But she can't, because he's still the man who stood up for her when the Jedi Council turned their backs on her, who drilled her in the lightsaber techniques that saved her life on Mandalore, who saved her life too many times to count and was her family. And she doesn't know how to reconcile those feelings with what Anakin became, and therefore she doesn't know how to reconcile the parts of herself that come from being trained by Anakin.
"You are more, Anakin. But more powerful and dangerous than anyone realized"
She's sidestepping the point by falling back on her default defense: Anakin fell to the Dark Side, and therefore everything that came out of his teachings - including her - is tainted. She still can't admit to herself that there was more to Anakin than his fall, and that all those parts of Anakin still mean something to her.
"Is that was this is about?" / "If I am everything you are-" / "then you've learned nothing"
She's still missing the point Anakin's trying to show her - that she carries his trainings and influence within her, but she is not Anakin. She is not tainted by Anakin's fall, and her fate will not be the same as his, because she's her own person who makes her own choices, and the good in Anakin's teachings - the good in her that came from them - doesn't just go away because Anakin fell. She's still so scared of Anakin's darkness - and what it says about her own inner darkness - that she can't see her own light.
"Back to the beginning. I gave you a choice - live, or die?"
For the last 10 or so years (however long since she returned from Malchor), Ahsoka's been in a holding pattern. All she knows is war, and she doesn't know what there is to life outside of fighting to live another day. She's terrified of who she is and of facing the ghost of Vader over her past. She's not living anymore, she's just surviving, moving from day to day. Anakin's telling her that's not enough anymore. Not being able to face her past and embrace her training literally killed her - Baylan was able to unbalance her enough to defeat her in a fight by stoking her inner discord. If she wants to return, she has to want to live, really live - she needs to find her direction in life beyond being a solider, and to do that she has to embrace her full legacy and training. If she can't do that, then she'll stay dead, stuck in the world between worlds.
"No-" / "Incorrect" / "You lack conviction" / "Time to die"
She still doesn't know how to see past Vader, so Anakin give her the opportunity to work through it in a way she can understand - by literally fighting her figurative demon.
"I choose to live"
By fighting Vader, by having the chance to kill him and embrace the Dark Side and realizing she didn't take it, realizing that she never even wanted to, Ahsoka finally realizes what Anakin's been trying to show her - she's not Vader, she never will be, because that's not who she is. Anakin's teachings are a part of her that she cannot escape, but there is more to Anakin's teachings than Vader, and there is more to her than what she has been taught. To find out what she is meant to be and move forward she must embrace where she came from. Only then can she return to the world of the living and move forward with her journey.

Well, Shall I Murder Instead of You? - By KURANDO Yukiaki (9/10)
Tumblr media
If you've been bullied before you wanted to be saved. It's natural. It's normal, but what happens when a normal person is subjected to the will of abnormal people? Sometimes, they don't become cruel in return. Sometimes, they get used to seeing blood.
It becomes the new normal.
Yūma is an unremarkable boy, with low grades. He attends a bottom of the barrel school. The teachers hate their jobs. Their lives. They do nothing to save him when he is horrifically bullied.
Tumblr media
He's a talented writer who wants to host his own radio show someday. Some of his work has been published. He's good. He could be great. He doesn't dream of revenge. He has very normal dreams.
He just wants high school to be over.
He's a sweet guy.
Tumblr media
This is Ameri. He used to be called Amelie, which is a girl's name. I'm sure that'll be relevant later. He is obsessed with Yūma utterly. Everything he says is planned.
He is the perfect best friend.
He saves Yūma.
He has the same niche interests as Yūma.
He lives alone in the mountains.
His parents are nowhere to be found.
Tumblr media
Yūma goes blind from happiness. He doesn't care when the main bully vanishes. He was a big guy. From a rich family. Forced to attend a garbage school because of his laziness.
Ameri decides to torture them all.
Every bully.
But that's not the end.
Tumblr media
He's still alive.
Ameri brings Yūma down to the basement.
The bully, Nishi, is almost certainly a sociopath. He put Yūma through all kinds of torture. He actually tried to stab Ameri. Ameri defended himself. Ameri doesn't want to go to jail just because some sadist chose to pick on him, and his best friend Yūma!
He's kind of in the right, and that's what makes him so wrong.
He encourages Yūma to kill on purpose. He knows Yūma won't do it. He wants Yūma to be indebted to him.
That's all.
Tumblr media
What if the fun part was all a lie? Does Ameri really want to be a radio broadcaster too? Did he really show up acting like a hero coincidently? Right when Yūma needed to be saved?
No.
It was all planned. Ameri admits it, but the denial in Yūma is powerful.
He doesn't want to go to jail.
Tumblr media
Yokota is a fellow student, who is also being bullied. She wants Ameri to save her too. She also wants to cry on Yūma's shoulder, and enjoy his natural kindness.
Ameri won't allow it.
He's only interested in saving his favorite.
Tumblr media
Yūma had another hero before. A girl named Mao. She tried to protect him when they were little. They go to different schools. She's older, but she still cares for him.
Nishi escapes from the basement, and he kidnaps her.
Yūma realizes there will be no end.
Nishi will never give up. Cruelty is all he has in life. Now he has the audacity to want revenge. After all he did to Yūma. After literally stabbing Ameri. All he wants is more blood.
Yūma heroically tries to save Mao, but in the end he must rely on Ameri.
He's a normal boy, after all.
Tumblr media
Mao notices something wrong.
She used to protect Yūma.
She thinks she remembers seeing someone watching Yūma.
Someone who looks like Ameri.
Someone with the same eyes.
She flees, because she's a normal girl.
Tumblr media
Yokata returns to blackmail Ameri with pictures of his crimes.
He agrees to get rid of her bullies.
But.
He punishes her by making her an accomplice.
His only real interest is staying with Yūma forever.
Why?
We don't know yet.

Listen, I know I said I wasn't pro redeemed Gortash before, but.
But.
I could bend on that idea, if Gortash died and went to the House of Hope.
If he was humiliated by Raphael, asking him if he truly thought that he was more than that scared little boy he bought all those years ago, the boy his servants used to beat black and blue, who used to cry at night for his parents. A boy who was terrified of him, and hated being powerless, who spent his life trying to obtain power, so he wouldn't be afraid again.
Gortash dying and being forced back there...and having to face the fact that this is what he's done to other people...and for what reason?
In the end, he was still that helpless child.
Because here's the thing right. The dark urge is only redeemable because they lost their memories and their old self truly died when they got their head split open.
They only became redeemable when they had a second chance, and took it. When they chose to make themselves better and to fix the damage they caused.
Just imagine Gortash having to be back in the House of Hope, and imagining himself spending a fucking eternity in there...
That's divine, karmic punishment enough for a villain.
Not to mention that Raphael would laugh at him and torture him and force him to wear those hideous prison robes, completely stripping him of the pomp that he used to defend himself for his entire life.
Forcing him to dress like a slave again.
But imagine the dark urge waltzed in and slaughtered Raphael for him.
And saved hope.
The parallels!!!
Gortash couldn't break the cycle of abuse, but the dark urge could do it for him, and give him a second chance!!!
Gortash was abandoned as a child, and he used and abandoned everyone he ever met, so that none of them could hurt him first!!! But the dark urge didn't abandon him.
They came back for him.
He hated them in his final moments, because they had become a hero, something they both used to despise. The ultimate betrayal...but then.
This is also what heroes do. They kill villains...and they save people.
Gortash would ask, why did you help me, what's in it for you?
And they'd just say, it was the right thing to do, fool.
Raphael was a bastard.
So I killed him.
Same as I killed you. For being a bastard.
But then they'd throw his contract at him and be like here. You're free now.
Be a piece of shit again, and I'll kill you again.
But maybe his first act of contrition is making the steel watch help you in the final battle.
I think there's a data mined line where Jaheira says you were made to save the city, right? to the steel watch, when you summon them?
That's really good.
Like Gortash...ruining the city with his stupid absolute plan and his tyrannical steel watch bullshit...
And the arc words, of actually doing what he said he was doing, and saving the city he was was ruining...from the mess he made.
Ahh.
Also dark urge specifically...
I still think about the dev notes, about Gortash seeing the dark urge as something more than a monster.
Or even, seeing them as a person, and not a monster at all.
He gave them a chance before they were even good. He saw them as something more than a bhaalspawn. He doesn't care if they reject Bhaal or accept him, he doesn't care if they have their memories or not. He wanted them on his side.
It would've upset him, no doubt, when they refused him.
But saving him by killing Raphael...yeah.
Maybe he'd wonder if there isn't still some of the old dark urge in there.
The only person in the world who might've really cared about him, even if they don't remember it...but it'd be a glimmer.
It'd be a little spark, a tiny connection, that would make him think they were paying him back for his faith in them.
And then maybe he'd realize what a real hero looks like, and how they act, and if someone as cruel as the dark urge could be reformed...maybe he could be too.
Anyway.
Still fucking better than the current endings, where he either dies or dies.
I'm talking out my ass, as per usual.
He still can't quite make up for his sins.
But...but I....I don't know. Dont talk to me.

Signs Serizawa knows Reigen has no powers
The Reigen spinoff implies that Reigen hasn't told Serizawa who he really is yet. I think plenty of people have taken this to mean that Serizawa is still unaware, but I disagree. I'm fairly certain that Serizawa already knows the truth and has accepted it, not caring to call Reigen out for his lies because they don't matter that much to him.
Read ahead for a long list because I have no life...
Tumblr media
1) Mob's memories
We don't really know what exactly Serizawa saw from Mob's memories (we catch a few glimpses in the anime, but we don't know how many memories he saw nor how clearly he actually did). However, it could be enough for Serizawa to know what Mob knew at the time—maybe not that Reigen is powerless entirely, but at least that he is lying about what he is truly capable of.
2) Serizawa probably overheard the conversation between Toichiro and Reigen
I mean, he jumps in to save Reigen at the perfect time, so I feel like he was watching the conversation leading up to that point from the sidelines. Toichiro called Reigen out for being a powerless fraud, and Reigen did not confirm but he also did not deny it.
3) Serizawa only defied Toichiro when he was going to attack Reigen
The fact that Serizawa finally decides to defy Toichiro at that key moment... I feel like he was only able to muster up that courage because he knew it was a matter of life or death for Reigen. He knew that Reigen wouldn't be able to defend himself like Mob or Shou could, so he finally decided to act then despite knowing it would betray the man he admired most.
4) Serizawa never questions why Reigen is unable to do certain things
Granted, a lot of this is just how Serizawa is as a person, as he's not the confrontational type at all and tends to just go with the flow. However, even Mob questioned Reigen sometimes, like pointing out that he should've been able to see weak spirits or asking why he didn't do anything to help. Serizawa never does, he never really expects Reigen to do anything regarding spiritual matters. Serizawa never questions why Reigen does nothing in the yokai fight, for example.
People might point to times where Serizawa leaves Reigen to do something on his own (i.e. the train ova where Serizawa leaves Reigen in the parallel dimension or the scene in Season 3 where Serizawa initially says nothing while Reigen holds a cursed object). However, I don't think it necessarily means Serizawa thinks Reigen has powers, I think it just means Serizawa trusts Reigen's experience in the field. Serizawa may be a powerful esper, but he has little experience using his powers in an actual job.
In the train OVA, Serizawa was just following advice from a business handbook that said to never question one's boss. I think it's notable that the moment Reigen tells Serizawa he can make decisions for himself, the first thing Serizawa says is "Please, let me help you somehow." It feels like that was something Serizawa wanted to do this whole time, but Reigen kept telling him to leave him to his investigation and he felt like he had to listen.
A similar mindset is why Serizawa just lets Reigen hold a really cursed object and doesn't say anything about it until Reigen asks him. Serizawa was just too used to blindly leaving things to his superior rather than following what he thought was right.
5) Serizawa tries to stop Reigen from entering the storm
When Reigen and Serizawa try to brave the storm caused by Shigeo, Serizawa says that they cannot continue as his powers are being drained. Reigen tells him that he will go forward on his own, claiming he'll be fine, but Serizawa says "there's no way you'll be fine!"
Those aren't the words of someone who believes Reigen has any powers, in my opinion. Those are the words of someone who knows Reigen is utterly powerless and sincerely believes that him braving the storm will be a death sentence. If someone as powerful as Serizawa can't brave the storm, how could Reigen possibly survive?
6) Serizawa never refers to Reigen as a psychic
PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. However, I genuinely do not recall any scene where Serizawa refers to Reigen as a psychic or even mentions Reigen having powers. Even Mob, despite questioning Reigen's honesty, referred to him as a strong psychic from time to time. Serizawa never does that, as far as I can tell.
Anyway, that's all the evidence I can think of. Thanks for reading if you made it this far 😭

What if Gabriel couldn't control Gimmi?
Idea that's been rattling in my head since the finale of season 5
"Tikki, Plagg, unite!"
He had done it! He had finally gotten both miraculous! Now, he could make his wish a reality!
As Gabriel thought this, Plagg and Tikki merged into one, forming the true form of Gimmi.
The massive purple kwami stared down at him, then spoke.
"We are Gimmi, the kwami of reality. What is it you require of us?"
Gabriel smirked. "I want my greatest desire to be granted." Gabriel bowed slightly. "With the cost of my life."
Next thing Gabriel knew, he felt extreme pain in his head. Worse than the effects of the Cataclysm.
"We decide the price of the wish, mortal!" Gimmi yelled, seemingly from all around him.
After catching his breath, Gabriel spoke.
"I summoned you! I control you!" Gabriel glared at Gimmi.
Gimmi gave an unimpressed stare back.
"You use our power, yes. But holding our miraculi does NOT give you the ability to say how they work." Gimmi rose so they were not eye level anymore. "The universe requires a balance. So, the price is something of equal value from you."
Gabriel glared at the Kwami. "The grimore-"
"The grimore says a kwami is summoned with a miraculous. And yet, we require 2 miraculi. So, clearly, we are the exception."
Gabriel wanted to say something, but he started going into a coughing fit.
"You may want to stop arguing, as you do not have much time left."
Gabriel pulled his hand back to see that Gimmi was right. It wouldn't be long before the Cataclysm took his life.
"Fine, what is the price for my wish?"
Gimmi raised a nonexistent eyebrow. "Be more specific, everyone has many desires."
Gabriel growled. "My greatest desire, of course!"
Gimmi tilted his head. "Which one? The real one, or the one you claim?"
Gabriel's confusion was visible. "What?"
"Your desire to win in all things, that is your truest desire."
"What? No! That's not-!"
"Lie all you want." Gimmi interrupted Gabriel's response. "But that is your greatest desire. It can be seen in your actions." Gimmi leaned down and got in Gabriel's face, causing him to step back.
"That is why you sent your son away for being unruly. That is why you didn't save Emilie when you had the Rabbit miraculous. That is why you get pleasure in defeating a child." Gimmi used one of their many hands to gesture to Marinette, who has been watching this all happen, while still frozen from Venom.
Gimmi then turned back to Gabriel. "So again, claim all you want that your greastest wish is for Emilie's return, but you and I know the truth."
Gabriel, throughout Gimmi's examination of his character, was silent. Then did his best to look imposing. The way he did when ever someone challenged him.
"Fine, but seeing as how I was able to summon you, I think we can agee I've already achieved that dream. So, another wish is in order."
Gimmi rose back to their full height.
"I wish for Emilie's return."
"We cannot do that for you."
Gabriel physically recoiled. "What!?!" Gabriel scowled at Gimmi. "Is this some kind of rebellion? Because-!"
"We are not rebelling. The problem with that wish, is you."
Gabriel, still furious. "Explain. Now."
"Even when we ignore the fact that the Emilie you think you know and the real person are different, you still do not have anything that would be equivalent."
"Of course I do! A life for a life! I offer my own for hers!"
"Those are not equivalent." Gimmi pointed at Gabriel. "The life must equal in your eyes. An eye for eye, a loved one for a loved one."
Gabriel sputtered as Gimmi rose again. "No loved ones? I have a son!"
Gimmi stared down at Gabriel with thinly veiled contempt. "The fact that you are even considering sacrificing him shows you do not love him the way you love Emilie."
Gabriel, unbothered by Gimmi's accusation, defends himself. "He's a sentimonster. Now that the Peacock is fixed, we can just make another. I'm sure Felix would agree to do so."
Gimmi closes all their eyes as they shake their head. "Do you hear yourself? How can you claim to love your son, when this is how you talk about him? Like he's a thing to throw him away when your whims desire?"
"We're a family! We-"
"We require the bond to be present. And that bond does not exist for you. Nor does anyone feel that way for you, for the matter."
Gabriel gave a bewildered look. "No one feels... again, I have a son, Adrien. He loves me. I'm his father."
Gimmi gave Gabriel a withering look. "There was a point when Adrien loved you. But in your haste to make sure you always win, even against your son, you snuffed out any and all affection he had for you."
Gimmi looks off into the distance. "Maybe in another life, one where you loved your son like you claim to, HE could have made the wish." Gimmi turns back to Gabriel. "And do what you originally intended when you summoned me. Sacrifice you to bring her back."
As Gimmi laid out the consequences of Gabriel's actions, he seethed. "Stop this stalling!"
Gabriel went into another coughing fit as Gimmi gave him a pitying look.
When stopped coughing, Gabriel continued. "There has to be for-"
"There is no way for to bring Emilie back for you"
Gimmi leaned their cheek on the back of their hand. "Nor can I give you eternal victory, as the only way to do so would be to grant your other desire."
Gabriel snarled, with a trail of ash going his face. "Then heal me of this!"
He gestured to the part of his body that was Cataclysmed.
Gimmi shook their head. "The price would either to give you an equally bad condition-"
"I want to be healed! Not obtain a new condition!"
"-or to give it to someone else you care for." Gimmi continued without pausing when Gabriel tried to interrupt them.
"But as we established, you have no one you care for. So again, we cannot do that either."
Gimmi stared down at Gabriel, as he finally realized what they were saying. "You can't mean..." Gabriel, for the first time in a long time, was feeling dread.
"Yes Gabriel," Gimmi leaned over him, "you have nothing to lose, and as such, nothing to gain."

I always get a little frustrated when I see the idea that his cultivation corrupted Wei Wuxian and that's part of his tragedy that led to his death. In the books, it's really not.
First of all, why would he still uses his cultivation in his second life if it was corrupting him ? Why would Lan Wangji let him do this again if that what's destroyed him in the first place ? His cultivation was dangerous but so is the righteous path (Qi deviation anyone ?).It doesn't corrupt.
I would also argue that the three times he did use said cultivation against the cultivation world were absolutely justified, because the first one was because they were creating work camp where children and elderly Wens were forced to work and beaten to death (despite the fact that the Jins said they were leaving them alone) and the second time was an ambush 200 against 2 (so self defense) and then, the third time was 1 against 3000, plus, they attacked first and the last time they were meeting to discuss the massacre they were planning to do against him and the Wen renmants despite the fact that they said they wouldn't after the death of Wen Qing and Wen Ning
Wei Wuxian is still the same person in the burial mound trying to protect the Wen renmants and deciding to destroy the Yin Tiger Rally so that the Jin couldn't have it as he is when he decides to stay behing in the Xuanwu cave or when he is having fun, teasing Lan Wangji during his studies at the Lans.
The tragedy of his death is that he is doing the right thing, from beginning to end by himself and the people in power don't like having a servant calling them out when they do terrible things. His fate isn't sealed when he got pushed to the burial mounds the first time by Wen Chao, it is sealed and he is not even there at the meeting after he saved the Wen remnants, and the clans start defaming/slandering him for his actions, because he made the choice to save the Wen remnants and only two people, who are not in power and both of them do not have the support of theirs clans at that moment (Lan Wangji and Mianmian) defend him.
His new way of cultivating was just a convenient excuse the cultivation world/the mob, who didn't like someone who they saw as below them calling them out, used to discredit him.

Kazutora had a very troubled mind and fear can operate in many ways. The fear of loss, the fear of rejection, can really mess someone up.
But even if he did indeed try to kill him, the memories of all the good times they had together wouldn’t go anywhere.
Did he change?
Was it their fault?
It was certainly concerning to a new level.
But the worse outcome of this incident, at least for Baji Keisuke was the fact that he made his mother cry.
Nothing really happened to him, he was in perfect conditions, not even a scratch on his nose. Not the same can be said of those who crossed his path that morning though. But even then, his mother wailed for hours on the fact that she almost lost her son due to this stupid quest of his.
Friendships are important, of course. But not more than your own life. And his life wasn’t just a life, he was the future king, not someone that can be easily replaced.
The fact that he had to hear you apologize to the queen and even get a slap to your beautiful face from her was also a low blow for the prince.
You had done nothing wrong, you even saved his life and helped capture his friend alive. But you did leave his side and that could end up in a fatality according to his mother.
“I’m not a child that needs babysitting mother. I understand your concern, I know you can’t just find another king for this damn kingdom. But this girl saved my life, if you ever touch her again you can forget you ever had a son…” and with this, he left the throne room and hid in his chambers.
This didn’t go according to plan. It went awful even.
Hanma Shuji managed to escape and that dark wizard seemingly very powerful would not take long to find another army of zombies to attack them, even if all his loyal men are now in his dungeons being detoxed from all the harmful spells they went through.
He had to do something, needed more information about this dark magic wielder, Kazutora would for sure know more, but he refuses to talk and it’s all just so frustrating to the young prince.
They managed to knock down Valhalla at least, there was a good side to this battle of sorts, but the downs were greater in number.
Keisuke wasn’t one to dwell in the past and submit himself to depressive thoughts, but with a day like this, it was just impossible not to want to curl on your bed and try to forget about everything.
Not even Chifuyu was allowed in his chamber, yet he remained outside just in case he was needed at some point, like the good friend and dutiful knight he is.
The queen was forced to admit you did a good job at the end, you did save her son and didn’t even let him out of your bubble until he was safe inside his own castle. Not a scratch on his face, only a broken heart. And that, was not your fault.
So there wasn’t really a reason to get your head for. Though she was still very much surprised of the tone her son used to defend you, she’s never seen him like this, it wasn’t just plain anger or pride as it usually is, she could see hurt in his eyes, he was hurting at the thought of his own mother hurting you, he was even willing to leave her side if she was to even think of touching you ever again, and she didn’t know how to feel about that.
─── ⋆⋅☼⋅⋆ ───
You’ve been staying in the castle for a week now, unable to return to your cottage in the forest as any time now Kisaki could return and you were the only one able to stop said man.
The castle is a wonderful place, not just big and luxurious, but everyone working in it was lovely to be around. Your chambers were an absolute divinity, your bed as comfortable and big as it could ever be. Even a full wardrobe filled with appropriate gowns for a lady living in the castle to your absolute disposition. It was a beautiful place, but your favorite place was their gardens. They had a greenhouse full of herbs and rare plants and you’ve been visiting it ever since.
Today, however, your loyal companion has gone missing, disrupting your routine.
Every witch has a black cat, those are the rules.
While they don’t really do much in terms of boosting magic or helping with a witch’s line of work, one can be very lonely when following this path, and as your only friend while growing up, yours was very special.
“Chifuyu, have you seen a black kitty around?” Chifuyu was polishing his sword by the pond, as Ryusei had the prince’s watch turn.
“A black kitty? Why would there be a cat in the castle, my lady?”
“Oh well, he’s mine actually…I haven’t seen him since this morning and it’s starting to worry me…” pets were forbidden in the castle, but you must not be aware of that.
“I haven’t seen him, but I promise I’ll look around while I do my rounds and get him for you, my lady.” as charming as always, Chifuyu tended to leave a smile on your face, not even the disappearance of your mischievous feline friend being able to wipe it from your face.
In all truth, everyone in the castle loved to have you around, your were so kind, not to mention beautiful…the entire royal guard and even the army guys were all nice and sweet to you, even the scarier looking ones like Shiba Taiju. But Chifuyu was by far your favorite and it wasn’t entirely a secret.
“Thank you, you’re a life saver. Let me know if I can do anything for you!” at your comment, a hint of pink glazed his handsome features and he just nodded at your remark, you were so delightful in his eyes, but you were also the only woman who gets across his king.
“It’s my job, think nothing of it!” with a little wave, he left for his rounds and you continued on your own search of the little troublemaker.
While you were walking along the long halls of the castle, a hint of a fluffy black tail caught your eye, and it was going into that one place he shouldn’t of go to for anything in this world.
The prince’s room.
With a soft knock to his door, the door opened up slightly, startling you. Peeking just a bit from the crack of the door, you caught sight of something beautiful and something you were clearly not expecting.
The prince was laying on his bed, your cat on top of his chest seemingly about to take a comfortable nap.
“Merlin! What do you think you are doing? Come here right this instant!” you whisper-yelled at the cat who opened one an eye to glare at you, just to close it once more right after, ignoring your request.
“Come on in and close the door…jeez…people can’t even sleep in this place anymore…”
Doing as instructed, you stepped into his chambers, trying not to wake up Ryusei who was very much asleep outside the prince’s doors. “Excuse me, my prince. It was not my intention to wake you up…”
“So who’s Merlin? Your boyfriend or something?” he scoffed, rolling on his side and taking the cat along for some cuddling.
“Um, no, your highness. The cat you’re holding. His name is Merlin, he’s my companion.”
“Don’t speak nonsense, his name is Peke J and he’s my friend.” that made you giggle, he really liked to hear your cute laughter, though this was the first time he caused it and not Chifuyu or Draken…it made him feel something, even if he didn’t fully understand what that something was.
“He’s your friend, my prince? You do have many of those already, why would you be in need of my furry companion?”
He motioned for you to sit on the lounge chair next to his bed as he stared at the window, “He doesn’t ask questions, and is very warm…”
He was right, those were two of your favorite attributes of your dear friend. “He is also very fluffy.” This made him smile, you weren’t asking questions either, nor coaxing him to come out of his chambers like everybody else, you were different, and that was what he liked about you the most.
“He is indeed…” there was a comfortable silence in the room, none of you had the need to say anything else, yet the company of the other was very much welcomed.
The little devil however, had very different plans. He started by pawing at Keisuke’s face, he was clearly bored and trying to get someone to play with him, but cats are just that, and one can’t blame them for it. One of his claws ended up scratching the prince’s cheek, earning a horrified gasp out of you. “Merlin!”
“Peke J…” the prince corrected.
“Peke J, what did I say about scratching people!” The smile on the prince’s face was so bashful and blinding as you took his side without arguing. His canines were showing, his eyes fully closed as his face scrunched up with glee. Even if his face had just been hurt by the fierce creature, he was having the best time in a long a while.
“My prince…your face is bleeding…” without thinking much of your own actions, you sat on his bed, your hand closing in to his face.
“It’s just a scratch, I won’t die from this…”
“You might not die from it, but that doesn’t make what he did right. Let me take care of it, please your highness..” Baji Keisuke was blushing, that had never happened before, not like this at least. Your face was so close, he could count your eyelashes if he wanted to, your hand emitted an enticing warmth and all he wanted was for you to close the distance already, so he just nodded.
“Thank you, my prince.” a soft light came out of the palm of your hand as you placed it over his cheek, the little scratch disappearing almost instantly. He felt no pain or discomfort whatsoever, on the contrary, he felt a warmth in his chest, and that was something new.
“So you really can do magic, huh? That bubble thing you put me in was quite impressive…” he didn’t want to think of that day anymore, but he also didn’t want you to end the conversation and leave, and that’s all he could come up with.
“I sure can, your highness. I apologize if it was a little uncomfortable, I tried my best to make it soft and weather proofed with the little time I had to act.” the smirk on his face meant troubles, but in all truth, you liked seeing it back on his face, he didn’t look as gloomy as before.
“So it wasn’t my imagination then, I could feel this little comforting breeze…I thought I was loosing my mind…” his chuckles were like music to your ears, Peke J seeming to like them as well as he was now jumping all over the place, playing with his new friend.
“It wasn’t, my prince. It’s all I could do to try to alleviate the painful moment you were going through, even if it was just a little.” and it did, he remembers feeling safe, like if he was inside his mother’s womb, warm yet comfortable, a place nobody could hurt him in.
“Sometimes I wish you could just put me in that bubble and just leave me there forever…But that wouldn’t be cool for a king, right…?” you could hear the sadness and uncertainty in his words, it was heartbreaking not being able to do much for someone who needs it.
“Well I don’t know about it being cool or not, but if you ever need my bubbles, all you need to do is ask.” your smile was so pure, so sincere, this feeling of safety and warmth was a constant thing when you were around, it was definitely strange, but he wanted more of it.
“Can you show me some more magic? I’ve always want to do some myself, but you have to be born with the powers to do so and I was born king, not wizard…”
“That’s not entirely true, my prince…I’ve been working in something that might be of your interest, it’s still in a trial period, but it worked with Merl- I mean Peke J…”
“Oh yeah? What’s it about?” the excitement in his eyes was like one of a child in Christmas Day, he loved feeling this way, it was like he could really be himself when he was around you, he didn’t have to be the cool tough guy everyone admired, or the future king, he was just fifteen-year-old Baji Keisuke, nothing more.
This got you going, you could nerd around all you wanted about magic, nobody ever let you do that, so you were as excited as he was, “Well, its about channeling my magic to someone who doesn’t have any, and use their thoughts and feelings to create something new. It’s like being able to see how their magic would work if they had any!”
Keisuke’s eyes were sparkling, that was such an awesome idea and to think it just came out of you probably a day you were just bored playing with your cat, you were indeed an interesting girl like no other he’s ever met. “That sounds super cool! What did Peke J’s looked like?”
“Since he’s a cat, I thought his magic display would be very small since the spell relies on feelings, but that day, it was raining you see, it was a full on storm…” Keisuke was fully immersed in your storytelling, biting onto his nails wanting to hear more of it, “and can you believe it stopped raining?” both of you burst out laughing together, “He really hates water...”
“He does…but not only that, the weather turned to this perfect spring afternoon, the sun warm and shining above, and for what…?”
“He just wanted to nap, didn’t he?” you just nodded, giggling, causing him to continue laughing as well.
This was so much fun, he had never had so much fun by just talking to someone. “Would you like to try it, my prince? I’m not sure if it’ll work but I can assure you it’s not dangerous.”
He was intrigued, what would his even look like. “Ok but can you show me yours first? I’ve seen you do magic but sounds like this is a bit different?”
“Yes, it is. It’s like showing your true self. Let me show you. It consists of clearing your mind and just feel. My magic will manifest and make it visible.” he nodded with excitement, sitting now on his knees, a little restless waiting for your display.
He was drawn to how beautiful you looked with your eyes closed, he couldn’t really hear anything at all anymore, not even the servants running around outside in the corridors, it was just you and him now, and he loved every second of it.
Then a pinkish mist started to mingle in the air and colorful glittery butterflies started appearing everywhere, one in particular landing on his nose.
“Wow, so this is what your magic truly looks like, huh? It’s very fitting…” your eyes opened to a wonderful sight, he was smiling so purely again, like a little boy enjoying your display to the max.
“How so, my prince?”
“Well it feels warm and smells sweet. It’s also very beautiful…” his words made you blush, yet he didn’t even do it on purpose, he was speaking from the heart, completely immersed in the magical experience.
“Would you like to see yours now, your highness?” he just nodded, waddling over to you, “Do I just like close my eyes then?”
“Yes, my prince. If you excuse me, I must be closer so my magic can flow through you.” he waited for you patiently, not refusing the implications of your words, yet not fully expecting what was about to happen.
You pressed your forehead on his, closing your eyes while holding both of his hands in yours. “You can close your eyes now, my prince.” He couldn’t stop looking at you though, you were so, so close that he could feel your breath on his cheeks, and it was doing things to his head. “O-oh, yeah, sorry.” clearing his throat, he closed his eyes, doing his best to clear his mind.
He could feel your magic flow through his veins, just like before, he felt warm inside, yet this time was a little different. Even if he wasn’t thinking about anything, just the feeling of your hands around his were making his heart hammer against his ribs, and it manifested once you both opened your eyes.
Contrary to what you thought it would happen, your magic was still lingering, it intertwined with his, which was exactly what he was feeling in that moment, unity, happiness, love…
Tiny forest animals made out of blue fog came to your feet, transforming his chambers into a magical fairy tale like landscape, it was truly beautiful what your magic combined could create.
“This is not just me…it’s…us…” he was smiling at the little fog animals, crouching down to pet them, this was fantastic, your magic was truly something amazing, a safe and happy environment, a place he could forget reality and it’s awful consequences in.
“I wonder what went wrong, it should be showing only your feelings…”
“Well…it’s probably my fault then, this really shows my feelings…you were in them after all…” his pouty embarrassed expression was the cutest and sweetest thing you’ve ever seen in your entire life. He was truly precious, not at all close to that tough persona he likes to portrait.
“I’m glad you’re enjoying my little experiment, my prince. It’s truly refreshing seeing you like this.”
His smile was sincere, even when the fog animals were temporary and were dissipating quickly, he felt a satisfying sense of happiness within him. “You’re like medicine…”
“My prince?” his words were as enigmatic as always…causing you to tilt your head to the side slightly confused.
“I feel so much better when you’re around…wether is your bubbles or your animals, even your smile…just makes me forget all the crap that’s going on in my life…” was he confessing or something? It caught you off guard but it also filled your heart with warmth.
“It’s an honor, your majesty. I’ll be here whenever you need of my services.”
“I don’t need your services, you idiot…I need you…” he turned around so you couldn’t see his face contort in embarrassment nor the incredibly invasive blush covering his face.
“Then let me rephrase that…I’ll be here whenever you need me, my prince.” this made him smile, Peke J jumping on his head and curling on its top. “Can he stay with me for the night…?”
“Of course, my prince.”
“Also… can you…stop calling me that? I know I’m your prince, your king and all that, but above all I’m just Keisuke…you don’t need to call me by my titles when it’s just the two of us around…” even if he was talking to you, his eyes were on the cat as he looked himself in his mirror, unable to look at you in the eyes.
“Anything for you, my prin-…I mean…Keisuke….”
There it was again…that smile…that beautiful smile that could take anyone’s breath away. And it was just for you.
“Good night, (Y/N).”
“Good night, Keisuke.”
And so, the prince and the witch stopped being just that, something more beyond words growing within both as time went by.
But not everything was all love and sparkles…a few floors down in the dungeons, a dark aura could be felt infiltrating them from the sewers...

YQY teacher is a abusive one.
Extremely painful and debilitating: Indeed, those who fell into qi deviation were terrifyingly prone to madness, yet they were also very fragile. Supported by a single thread, a stroke of luck could completely topple them. (...) Alarmed, he surged up and violently straightened to try to defend himself. The movement severely shook his already injured internal organs, throwing his qi circulation into chaos. Another gulp of blood sprayed out. (Chapter 9)
This happened to a teenager who had just started his cultivation path: The only  qi deviation shown in the novel is that of Liu Qingge. And if even the Peak Lord Bai Zhan, regarded as one of the most powerful cultivators among the peaks (at the time of deviation), ended up in a miserable state, one can imagine the condition a teenager without prior preparation must have been in.
"After that, Shizun abandoned my whole body and spiritual meridians, and I was locked in the spiritual caves for over a year. It was all a mess, and I had to start completely anew." (Chapter 79)
"But I also didn't want this silence to linger, so he had no choice but to reluctantly continue with the subject. —I heard that sometimes the Ling Xi Caves are used to imprison disciples who have entered qi deviation or fallen into arrogance. Do you think it was something like that?" (Extra 91)
Unlike Liu Qingge, Yue Qingyuan's qi deviation did not occur in an isolated situation where there was no one capable of helping him. The qi deviation was imposed as a punishment by Yue QingYuan's master for failing in his cultivation.
While the qi deviation itself was not caused by his Shizun, but by Yue QingYuan's own hands, throughout the novel we are told on two occasions that a qi deviation can be fixed by a Peak Master. Just as Shen Yuan does to help Liu Qingge, and  as mentioned by Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky. Therefore, it cannot be said that he was confined in the caves to protect others or himself, as the possibility of receiving external help was available and he consistently cried out for it.
(Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky) —Yes, in the future, if you see someone entering a qi deviation, don't panic and rush up thinking you can save them. You must remain calm and ask for help, don't act alone. Otherwise, you will definitely be more of an obstacle than a help and will create a great disaster. From then on, you will be abandoned in despair, never able to emancipate yourself, not even immersing in the Yellow River will cleanse you! (Extra 93)
He remained isolated from human contact for over a year: While the rules of a cultivation world and those of the human world are different. It is necessary to draw a similarity between Yue QingYuan's case and prisoners who are punished with extreme confinement. According to the American Psychological Association: "Many prisoners exposed to extreme confinement suffer mental health problems, including anxiety, panic, insomnia, paranoia, aggression, and depression."
Any teacher who does such practice is just abusive. It was stated by SJ that ling xi cave is usually used to lock up desciple who experience qi deviation. Why the hell will you lock up a student on the verge of life and death if it can be solved by subduing the affected party and passing on qi.
And since it was common knowledge it means that the majority of the OG Peak Lord does carry out such practice

Hi hi, This is one is a doozy. May I please request for a drabble between Platonic Yandere Nanami wherein he finally gets to see/ confront his darling( Necro) after they went MIA after Shibuya. They have a pretty heated argument and Nanami finds out the truth. After his darling spirited him away to shoko, they got killed by Mahito and they were lucky their power brought them back. They left because they know the higher ups would consider them a threat and they didn't want to get hurt.
This is a little short and a little vague(, i hope it's fine.
Platonic! Yandere Nanami x Necro! Reader
First of all, when Nanami regains his consciousness of what happened in Shibuya, at first he would be quite lost, since of course, the initial shock of thinking that he "had" died, only to then feel his body almost completely burned and the lack of his eye to remember EVERYTHING.
He DID die, but Necro (ignoring his order to stay away from Shibuya) brought him back.
Now, Necro is not stupid, she knows that Nanami will be angry with her when she sees it, she mentally prepares herself to defend her point, step by step, she won't let him make her feel guilty THIS TIME, could she at least not do it? Literally she He saved his life by coming for the love of God! Him and many others! What is HIS PROBLEM!?
This obviously doesn't end well for anyone, Nanami and Necro continue fighting for a long time (if not HOURS) where Nanami tries again and again and again to be in control of the situation (and of Necro) using Gaslight and guilty tripping only to no longer having an effect on Necro, she makes it clear that she stands by her point. She WAS NOT WRONG for going to Shibuya, why can't he just accept that she is no longer a little girl? That she no longer needs his protection (which she NEVER ASKED for)?
Did Necro have any idea of the danger she was in when she was near Mahito? Or that she was in the same place where SUKUNA himself was? she could have died if it weren't for pure luck! If even someone like him could die, what makes HER think that someone like her can't? He just wants her to stop trying to swallow more than she can chew...
but on other hand....How dare she disobey him? and even worse, ACT AS IF HE WAS THE PROBLEM WHEN HE RAISED HER (after kidnapping her, isolating her, preventing her from having friends, a partner--) and so she pays him like this? with dishobedience and dissrespect? he would have better be left dead if she wasn't going to be a good daughter anymore...
(emotional manipulation there, Nanami brand)
Even Shoko has to interfere to prevent the argument from escalating or one of them taking it too far. telling Necro to go rest and that he's done enough for today.
I think Shoko could be one of the few positive influences during this arc, precisely because she understands the fact that even if Necro and Nanami's relationship is... questionable, she wanted him back, she didn't care about anything beyond that. she loved her father...
It's thanks to Shoko that Nanami knows about how exactly he came back to life, he was convinced it was Shoko's doing, but knowing that Necro did it and that he cared SO MUCH... definitely made him question a few things.
They both end up sleeping quite apart from each other for the first time in YEARS, Necro wondering if he really did something right by bringing in someone as a yandere! Nanami brought back to life, she should have made a different decision.... but it's too late for that.
while Nanami on the one hand thinks that this reaffirms everything she would have done up to this point, isolating Necro, preventing him from having more people around him and becoming his only source of affection, everything seems at first glance to be worth it, because now she knows that Necro loves him...
but as he sees that she is in a separate room, ignoring him, he wonders if he has to reconsider some rules...
(Nanami when he realized that Necro love him as a Father ↓)

Wei Wuxian and the nice, broad road: or, part two of why constantly self-sacrificial Wei Wuxian takes bother me so much (part one):
(Long post ahead)
Something that’s very prevalent in self-sacrificial Wei Wuxian takes, or self-sacrificial takes on any character, is that they’re not only self-sacrificial… they’re also an idiot. As in, they don’t think things through, the first impulse they have when they see anyone in danger is to throw themselves in front of them even if there’s a way that means neither have to get hurt, and even if that person’s not in any serious danger at all. And that combines with the common take of self-hatred and extremely low self-worth to form the image of someone who’ll throw themselves recklessly at any danger with no consideration for any consequences or alternate paths, and are almost seeking to throw their life away.
The thing with Wei Wuxian, though, is that he’s not seeking to throw his life away at any given moment. And, more importantly to this meta, he’s clever and he’s capable. If he can find another way out of it, and the majority of the time he probably can, he’ll choose that option. What I’m trying to say is that, if he sees someone being ambushed by a monster, he’ll distract it, fight it himself, and almost always win. He won’t throw himself in front of its claws.
However, the problem that arises with the story of MDZS is that there is no other way out. The thing endangering those under his protection isn’t some monster he can fight, it’s the corrupt structure of the society itself. Those in power are only able to manipulate its threads by virtue of their birth and therefore status (almost everyone), or in rare cases by using that structure to your own advantage and engaging in very corrupt methods to clear your path to the top (Jin Guangyao). And neither of those are an option for Wei Wuxian, the ‘son of a servant’ who will never join in with that corruption.
(And he isn’t the only person we see in this situation. We see the same thing with Mianmian, and she can’t oppose this either — the best thing she can do is walk away.)
Wei Wuxian actually summarised his situation very clearly, when talking to Lan Wangji at the Burial Mounds:
A moment later, Wei WuXian spoke up, “Lan Zhan, you asked me if I intended on staying like this from now on. To be honest, I’d like to ask something as well. What can I do apart from this?” He continued, “Give up the demonic path? Then what about the people on this mountain? “Give them up? I won’t be able to do it. I believe that if you were I, you wouldn’t be able to do it either.” He continued, “Nobody can give me a nice, broad road to walk on. A road where I could protect those I want to protect without having to cultivate the ghostly path.” Lan WangJi gazed at him. He didn’t reply, but both of them knew the answer in their hearts. There was no such road. No solution existed.
- Chapter 75, EXR translation
This is in regard to Wei Wuxian’s demonic cultivation, but the same rings true for everything else he does at cost to himself in the story. Not sacrifice his Golden Core? Then Jiang Cheng, whose whole sense of self-worth was dependent on being a cultivator, would waste away with no spiritual power and no will to live*. Not save the Wen remnants? Then they’d stay in the labour camp and live and die in horrendous conditions. Not painting the spirit attraction mark on himself to save everyone else at the Second Siege? Then they’d die, because what else could be done? And it’s important to know that he didn’t do it alone here, he had Lan Wangji help defend him as well.
So he technically did have an option every time, yes. But that one option was letting others get hurt, and he’s not going to do that. There was no third path. There was no nice, broad road.
But we see that that broad road is very much one Wei Wuxian would like to walk on.
Wei WuXian smiled, “Why would I leave the nice, broad road, and walk on a single-plank bridge on a dark, narrow river instead? If it really is that easy, people would have already walked on it.”
- Chapter 14, EXR
Again, this refers to demonic cultivation. And again, this can be adapted to every other action he takes. Because there are plenty of situations when there is a third option. And in those cases, he finds the way around it! Wei Wuxian is incredibly smart, incredibly creative, and an incredibly quick thinker — none of us in the fandom should forget that.
And thankfully, there are examples of this in the text. Let’s take a closer look at one specifically: defending Mianmian in the Xuanwu’s cave**, and stopping her being used as bait.
(Long passage ahead)
Watching his subordinates fight with [Lan Wangji and Jin Zixuan], Wen Chao looked as if his mood was much better. He spat, “Talking back to me—what did you think you are? People like you really do deserve to be killed.”
A grinning voice came from the side, “That’s right. All those who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware.” Hearing this, Wen Chao spun around, “What did you say?” Wei WuXian pretended to be surprised, “Do you need me to repeat it? Sure. All those who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware. You heard it this time?” Hearing this, Wen ZhuLiu seemed to ponder as he glanced at Wei WuXian. Wen Chao erupted, “How dare you say such absurd, outrageous, and pretentious words!” Wei WuXian first lifted the corners of his mouth with a ‘pfft’, then immediately burst into unbridled laughter. Under everyone’s shocked eyes, he laughed so hard that he was out of breath, clutching Jiang Cheng’s shoulder as he spoke, “Absurd? Outrageous? I’d say you’re the one who’s all of those! Wen Chao, do you know who was the one that said those words? I’m sure you don’t, do you? Let me tell you. This was said by the most, most, most famous cultivator of your sect, the one who founded the entire thing, Wen Mao. You dared say that one of your ancestor’s remarks are absurd and outrageous? Well said, very well said! Ahahahahaha…” Within the Quintessence of the Wen Sect that had been given out, even the most ordinary of smalltalk comments could be analyzed over and over, their deep meanings boasted with exceptional extravagance. Let alone memorizing it well, Wei WuXian felt disgusted after just flipping through its pages. However, he found this quote of Wen Mao’s quite ironic, which was why he could recall it with ease. Wen Chao’s complexion switched between red and white. Wei WuXian added, “Right, what was the accusation given to those who insult famous cultivators of the Wen Sect again? How should they be punished? I remember that it was execution, right? Yes, very well, you can go die now.” Wen Chao couldn’t hold himself back any longer, unsheathing his sword and lunging at Wei WuXian. With that, he lunged out of Wen ZhuLiu’s range of protection. Wen ZhuLiu had always been used to defending against the attacks of others. He had never expected Wen Chao to leave by his own will. Facing the sudden difficulty, he somehow couldn’t react in time. On the other hand, as Wei WuXian provoked Wen Chao, he was precisely waiting for the moment of uncontrollable rage. The smile by his lips didn’t falter at all as he attacked with the speed of lightning. In a split second, he had snatched the sword and reversed the situation, subduing Wen Chao with just one move! One hand gripping Wen Chao, he leaped a few times and landed on one of the islets above the pool, keeping his distance from Wen ZhuLiu. With his other hand he pressed the sword onto Wen Chao’s neck, warning, “Nobody move. If you’re not careful, I might just decide to let some blood out of your Young Master Wen!” Wen Chao screeched, “Stop moving! Stop moving!” The disciples surrounding Lan WangJi and Jin ZiXuan finally ceased their attacks. Wei WuXian shouted, “Core-melting Hand, you’re not moving either! You know how the temper of the Wen Sect’s leader is. Your master is in my hand. If he loses just one drop of blood, then not one of the people here should hope to live on, including you!” Wen ZhuLiu put his arms down as Wei WuXian had expected. Seeing that the situation was under control, Wei WuXian was about to speak when he suddenly felt that the entire ground below him had trembled.
- Chapter 52, EXR
Important things to take away? Firstly, it’s Lan Wangji and Jin Zixuan who are the ones standing in front of the metaphorical (and literal) blades here, risking their own well-being and health for someone else to protect them directly. That’s their first instinct. Wei Wuxian’s is not***. His thought process is this: taunt and enrage Wen Chao, the powerless person in charge, into leaving the protection of the actually powerful person everyone’s scared of, and then use the opportunity of him being undefended to use him as leverage to get Mianmian free****. And he succeeds in that! It wasn’t his fault he didn’t know about the Xuanwu’s presence, the Wen clan were very deliberately keeping that information a secret.
That is very well thought through, especially for such a short timespan, and especially considering the actions of the only other two people who tried to protect Mianmian — a protective stand-off that they very probably could not win, with the likes of Wen Zhuliu around. I repeat: they are the ones standing in the way of the blade here. Wei Wuxian is not. This is what Wei Wuxian does in situations like these, this is how he solves problems! He’s not unthinkingly reckless, he is not a self-sacrificial idiot.
…not that I’m saying Lan Wangji is one either, but he’s never portrayed as one anyway.
And just for the fun on it, let’s take a look at the branding scene too, to see if we can pick anything else up:
Just as he was about to let go, a cry suddenly came from behind him. The cry was full of fear. Turning around, Wei WuXian saw Wang LingJiao give orders to three servants. Two of them brutishly held MianMian in place, clenching her face, while the other raised the branding iron in his hand and thrusted it toward her face! The tip of the iron was so heated that it sizzled and shone with red light. Wei WuXian was some distance away from them. Seeing what was happening, he immediately shifted the direction of the arrows and let go of the string. The three arrows shot out at once and hit each of the three people. Without making a noise, they fell backward onto the ground. Yet, before the bowstring even ceased to vibrate, Wang LingJiao suddenly grabbed the iron that had fallen as well. Gripping MianMian’s hair, she again shoved it toward her face! Even though Wang LingJiao’s level of cultivation was extremely low, her move was both swift and cruel. If she really did it, even if MianMian could keep her eye, her face would be completely ruined. A woman like her, even under such dangerous circumstances where people were prepared to flee at a moment’s notice, still kept her persistent thoughts of harming others! All of the other disciples were setting up their arrows, handling the beast with all of their attention. Nobody was near these two. There were no more arrows on Wei WuXian and there wasn’t enough time to grab someone else’s. Under the urgency of these circumstances, he rushed over, one hand striking away the arm that Wang LingJiao grabbed MianMian’s hair with and the other landing forcefully at her chest. Having undertaken the strike, Wang LingJiao heaved up a mouthful of blood and flew backward. However, the tip of the iron had already pressed onto Wei WuXian’s chest.
- Chapter 53, EXR
…as you can see, there’s a lot more to this than blindly rushing in front of the branding iron. Again, what can we take from this?
One, Wei Wuxian’s first instinct, again, is not to take the strike directly. He shoots the three servants holding down and actively trying to brand Mianmian, eliminating the threat to her. Wang Lingjiao at the time was just giving orders, she wasn’t an active threat — everyone else was fighting the Xuanwu, there was nobody else to give orders to.
But, surprising him, Wang Lingjiao immediately picks up the branding iron. And, like the servant, she aims it at Mianmian’s face. As Wei Wuxian remarks later, that’s a mark she couldn’t hide — her face would be ruined forever, and considering the setting of this world where marriage is extremely important to women society-wise, it would have lasting consequences for Mianmian’s whole life. Marks to the chest, at least you can hide.
And nobody else is focusing on Mianmian, and there’s no time for Wei Wuxian to call for help from anyone else. Ranged attacks aren’t an option, since he’s out of arrows. And only then does he rush straight to Mianmian, to save her directly.
And even then his first thought isn’t to throw himself in front of the iron! His aim in that instance is to strike the iron away from Wang Lingjiao, and to strike Wang Lingjiao away from Mianmian. And during that time, because both hands were occupied, the iron strikes his chest, and he gets the brand mark. Taking it for Mianmian was not the main aim here — though he was willing to risk it.
So, what do we learn from this?
Wei Wuxian’s first instinct is not to put himself in danger to help others. It’s to get the danger away from the one in danger, and then deal with it himself — something fully within his capabilities.
He admits he’s talking “nonsense” when telling Lan Qiren about demonic cultivation for the first time, probably to get himself kicked out of class, but what he says is actually very true when it comes to how Wei Wuxian generally solves problems.
Wei WuXian replied, “There are some things that have no use after liberation, so why not find a way to make use of them? When Yu the Great tamed the flood, obstruction was the inferior method, and redirection was the superior.
- Chapter 14, EXR
He doesn’t stand right in front of it, he doesn’t directly obstruct it from reaching its target by standing in-between the two. He redirects it to somewhere else.
And this pattern rings true throughout the book. Dealing with the fierce corpse of Madam Mo? Use his own corpses to get her attention instead. Same rings for the Dancing Goddess of Dafan Mountain, who’s currently advancing on Jin Ling? Same thing, summoning corpses — he doesn’t attempt to place himself in its way. He’s someone who thinks around the issue, calculates a plan (in a very short time, may I add), and much more often than not, succeeds! He’s willing to risk his life, but that is not the primary aim. Of course, when there are only two options — directly protecting or letting others get hurt — he chooses to protect. And since that is the case with his two biggest decisions in the story, so many people see that as his default instinct when it comes to dangerous situations. But when there is a nice, broad road to walk on, where nobody at all gets hurt, he finds that, and follows it, gladly.
Wei Wuxian is not a self-sacrificial idiot. He’s a clever, righteous person who’s willing to sacrifice his life for others, but who can and will take another option if one exists. The two are not in any way the same.
*I feel like this is an important part of the core transfer that’s overlooked, actually — it’s not just “your core is worth more than mine”, (although with the Jiang parents’ promise to protect Jiang Cheng at all costs, a similar mindset may have played a part in this one specific scenario), it’s “your self-worth and meaning of life derives entirely on your core and being a good cultivator, whereas I can live for and enjoy more than that, and won’t utterly lose my will to live if I can’t cultivate, unlike you”. And for all it hurts, he ends up being right (and even invents a whole new path of cultivation out of necessity). That isn’t saying the sacrifice isn’t emotionally painful for Wei Wuxian, though, it is a lot, and we saw that with his thoughts on it at the Guanyin Temple.
**I also wanted to talk a bit about him defeating the Xuanwu with Lan Wangji, but I couldn’t find anywhere to fit it in. Similar to the Golden Core thing, him distracting it while Lan Wangji did the killing isn’t a “your life is worth more than mine” thing. Lan Wangji was the only one who knew the Chord Assassination technique, which was the only way either of them could think to kill the Xuanwu, as any weapons were useless. In addition to that, Lan Wanji’s leg was injured, so he couldn’t swim anyway. The only option left was for Wei Wuxian to distract it, and he was capable enough to survive! And yes, it was dangerous, but the mindset of both of them in that moment was that they had no way of knowing help would come for them, and that their only chance of escape by themselves was to kill the Xuanwu — and you might as well kill it before you die, anyway. For all they knew, both of them would have died if he hadn’t done that, and so whatever happened was worth it. This is not a mindless ‘your life before mine’ mindset, he thought this through.
***He actually did instinctively twitch a little as if to move when Mianmian was being surrounded, but Jiang Cheng held him back. However, he's a much stronger cultivator than Jiang Cheng at this point, and could have easily broken out of his grasp to directly protect Mianmian had he wished to. But he didn't choose that option, and decided, very quickly, to instead do what we see here. As @/rynne pointed out (thank you very much!), that's a clear moment when he's faced with a choice to be self-sacrificial, or solve the problem another way. And he decidedly chooses the latter.
****Actually, Wei Wuxian taunts others into accomplishing his goals quite a lot. He’s not a long-game manipulator like Jin Guangyao or Nie Huaisang, but playing on their emotions to get the result you want in the short term? Look at Lan Wangji and the destruction of the porn book, look at Lan Qiren and getting kicked out of his the class in the Cloud Recesses (when talking about using resentful energy, his own thoughts tell us he’s talking “nonsense”, and clearly wanted to leave the class — this was likely a bid to to just that), look at taunting Xue Yang into talking so he reveals his location in the mists of Yi City. I hardly ever see him doing this in fanon, which is kind of sad, because it’s very interesting definitely something he uses to solve problems (and something people could very well use instead of throwing himself in front of everything!)… and if we have to go there, no, I don’t think that makes him ‘morally grey’ either.

AU where Yoichi is the older brother and AFO has just pretended he was the older one after Yoichi (and probably all witnesses who could say otherwise) died.
I know exactly the kind of AFO and the kind of AU that you mean. However, I'm already writing that AU in my fic The Devil’s Double. Therefore I'm going to take this idea sideways.
Yoichi IS All for One. Yoichi Shigaraki was born the older brother with the ability to give and take quirks, and he had a little brother who he adored and overprotected. Contrary to what history would say, AFO was a good person who did his best to defend people with quirks from government persecution during a very difficult time in history.
Yoichi had a very stubborn little brother named Hisashi who fell for government propaganda that claimed AFO was the bad guy. Hisashi loved his older brother but also had a lot of jealousy over his quirk and resentment about being the weak one. Young Hisashi was idealistic but also latched onto heroism and siding with the government as a way to finally beat his big brother. Yoichi coddled Hisashi a bit too much and sheltered him from the realities of discrimination and persecution of people with quirks.
The vault was actually a bomb shelter that Yoichi hid his little brother in during a government bombing of his mansion, and the stockpiling quirk was to save his life because of his weak health. Also Yoichi didn't force the quirk on his brother, but Hisashi resented not getting a stronger power.
Hisashi ran off with a pair of government agents who broke into the vault. However, they tricked him into giving them information about his older brother and passing on his quirk, then used him as a hostage. The government lured AFO/Yoichi into a trap and killed him. He died protecting his little brother. On his deathbed, he gave his quirk to his little brother so he would be able to defend himself and escape.
Killing Yoichi was a big mistake because Japan went to hell afterward. It turned out AFO had been the only person keeping the peace, and even the government regretted it. Second and Third later came to REALLY regret it.
After his older brother's death, Hisashi swore vengeance. He took on his brother's title as AFO. In fact, he pretended to be the original AFO. He erased all records, pretending to be the older brother. But unlike the original AFO, Hisashi didn't care about protecting people. He only wanted vengeance on the government no matter how many innocent people he hurt in the process. In this AU, Hisashi plans to destroy Japan not to take power himself, but because he wants to grind the entire country to rubble and make the whole world regret his brother's death.
Needless to say the future OFA holders got a very distorted version of history handed down by the government. OFA actually does hold a vestige of Yoichi, aka the original AFO and the zeroth holder of OFA, who desperately wants to stop his little brother's rampage.
For a long time there was a lot of tension in the Void between Second, Third, and Yoichi. Eventually Yoichi came to forgive them because they sincerely regretted their actions. Second's got a one-sided crush on Yoichi that will never be fulfilled because Yoichi would never accept the feelings of someone who destroyed all the good in his little brother. The later OFA holders are also angry because after they die, they learn they were deceived about the true history of their quirk and their mission.
Yoichi has been constantly trying to communicate with his brother to convince him to stop. But when Hisashi realizes there's a vestige of Yoichi in OFA and he's once again disappointed his older brother, it just destroys what little was left of his sanity.

"will shouldn't use a gun in season five because his father probably taught him how to use one and that could be a bad reminder for him" have you considered that will using what was very likely a Bad experience to save his life in what is undoubtedly an even worse experience could be a good thing? have you considered that him using a skill he was forced to learn to save not only himself but (as is likely more important and meaningful to him) the lives of others could give him a sense of usefulness and safety knowing that he isn't defenseless and can stand his and others' ground if need be? especially considering that's a skill that we've only seen hopper and nancy possess, making it that much more valuable and himself more helpful to the group? after everything in s1 and s2, he's probably felt guilty for having endangered them and dozens of other people multiple times, i don't think it'd be out there for him to feel "happy" that he can finally return the favor and protect them for once (especially after having complained about being babied and treated like a doll).
"will doesn't have and shouldn't have powers because that makes him different and he doesn't want to be different" not only are you wrong lol <3 but how have you not noticed that will's entire thing since the very beginning is that he is different and he knows it and while he does get his heart broken over the fact that this means he faces constant unfairness in life, he still refuses to be any other way? will doesn't conform nor does he ever try to even when others try to force or shame him to. he gets frustrated and upset at being treated differently, yes, but he stays true to himself. to battle that feeling he sometimes gets that tells him he's a mistake, a feeling he gets not from his own otherness but from living in a world that Makes it an otherness and thus isolates him for it, he seeks out that which he loves and enjoys and throws himself wholeheartedly at it. will lives his truth and is willing to suffer the consequences for it. he refuses to live in darkness and let it take a hold of him. he holds on to hope and all that makes him feel better for being different. he holds on to art, to dnd, to video games, to his family and his friends, and everything that brings him joy and reminds him that it's okay to be different. in s1 joyce defends will ("he's missing is what he is") and jonathan tells him he shouldn't like things that other people (namely their homophobic dad) try to force him to like, that he should like what he genuinely likes. in s2 jonathan gives will the freak speech and tells him that no one normal ever accomplished anything and mentions bowie. in s3, he doesn't get a speech, (though joyce does tell him that when he falls in love he won't find it gross [avoiding the word girlfriend and leaving it neutral]) but he does face backlash from someone that IS trying to conform and IS shaming will for not letting go of "childish" things aka his interests, what's important to him, and what he wants. does will back down or shy away in shame? no. instead, he lets mike sit in his shame for having said something that hurtful, and he says "yeah. i guess i did. i really did." clearly this is a conversation about what makes will different aka his sexuality bc he goes and destroys castle byers (the safe place he and his brother built once their homophobic dad left which is a place will can be himself unapologetically) with what is likely a bat that lonnie gave him when trying to get him into baseball. he calls himself stupid and donates his dnd books, but i don't see this as an act of conformity (he tells mike as much, suggesting he'll just use his books + if he was ashamed he wouldn't have painted the party as their dnd characters and given it to him of all people lol). he felt stupid because he thought they'd always be crazy together, that they were of the same mind and heart still, and that they had the same brand of "otherness" if you catch my drift. then in s4 we get jonathan's tender "you're my brother and there is nothing absolutely nothing that will ever change that" which is the most direct anyone has ever been about that which makes will different. and he doesn't shy away from it! he doesn't deny it, because we can see from his confession and how he breaks down that he's desperately been wanting and needing to hear that. he accepts that love and allows himself to be held and seen by someone else, as he has every other time. because will doesn't hate being different, he just hates that he has to live in a world where that's seen as wrong and thus makes him feel like he doesn't belong because of it. but he doesn't change himself. he doesn't feel ashamed of it. he doesn't see it as a flaw in himself or others and he never has. will is different and he knows it and he wouldn't have it any other way.
will's story since the beginning has been about being different and going through awful things, and managing to not only find the light in it but also make it out stronger because of it all. it's always been about using what makes him different as a good thing and as something he uses to save himself and others.
will being good with a gun bought him time with whatever kidnapped him. will knowing how to run and hide kept him alive in the upside down. will acted as a spy while possessed and managed not only to save hopper but also tell them how to finish this. will's experiences and senses helped them figure out what was happening in season three. will's love and loyalty inspires mike and manages to bring him to a better place even if just for a moment in the van, and again he's the one that knows vecna's current state, aaaand had he been in hawkins at the time it likely would've gone a lot better because as dustin said "we need will".
taking something awful and turning it into a good thing and a source of strength is a wonderful trope. it's inspiring and empowering not only for the character but for those that could use that hope and reminder that there's always a silver lining, that life isn't all darkness and shadows and hurt. not only that, but it's something that they've literally always done for will since the very beginning. he is the prime character for that. his entire message has always been that it's okay to be different and that you can find strength and peace in that; that the things that make you different aren't a detriment, they're precisely what make you strong. like... i'm sorry, but have you not been paying attention at all whatsoever this entire time or... :/
#some of u heard 'sometimes it makes you feel like a mistake' and just forgot every other season ever it seems like#but idk maybe IM the outlier here lmao#characters like mike steve and eleven i can see the conformity argument for#BUT WILL?!?!?!?#will who has always drawn and listened to his music and wanted to hang out with his friends and play dnd and who#gets made fun of for so many things even by those that mean the world to him but has never ONCE tried to change#anything about who he is over that..... THAT'S who you think thinks being different is a bad thing!?!?!#will who has never lied about being a loner or what he likes or what he wants in life or has dressed like other people want him to#will who specifically has received multiple It's Okay To Be Different speeches and came out of them believing them is the character#that you think hates being different? will who loves mike's nerdy self and thinks the absolute world of him and TELLS HIM AS MUCH AND#CONFESSES HIS GAY LOVE TO DESPITE THE SUMMER OF HOMOPHOBIA AND THE AIRPORT FIASCO AND THAT DREW A#FUCKING HEART ON HIS SHIELD UNABASHEDLY AND CONFESSED IN FRONT OF TWO OTHER PEOPLE TOO ON TOP OF THAT#IN THE EIGHTIES!!!!!!! TO MIKE!!!! WHO COULDNT TOUCH HIM AND HAS A CONSERVATIVE FAMILY AND DIDNT TALK TO HIM FOR A YEAR#IS WHO YOU THINK HATES BEING DIFFERENT . HELLO#literally everything that he goes through is turned into something 'good' because that's the POINT!!!!#HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE NORMAL!!! HE IS NOT THE CHARACTER U SHOULD BE MAKING THOSE ARGUMENTS FOR LMAO#jus say u don't want him to have powers bro don't be lying on my blorbito's name like that 😭😭😭😭😭#anyway. crazed frenzy is over im normal now <3#u kno how the long and all too passionate bordering on Is This Bitch Okay mobile posts go#back to being offline now byeeeee 🏃‍♀️

Persecuted for Perfection
YALL JUST HEAR ME OUT!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Implied murder and death. Geto being a tad obsessed... Crack ship???
@spiderpunkfien @teuanjo Here we go. this is a lot better than the other one I love them.
Geto wonders to himself if it was his destiny to only love the most powerful sorcerers to walk the earth. He cursed himself for being so weak to the beauty and seduction of power. And as he gazed down on the ivory white hair that lay upon him, he thought of the first time he had met her.
His first encounter with Elsa was that of absolute wonder. He had never believed in love at first sight, and he still doesn’t. But upon seeing her, he was enamored. Not just by her beauty but by her very aura. He could tell there was something inside of her, not fear, weakness, or love, but a lust for revenge.
He had become aware of a small country with an evil ice queen. He thought it was nothing more than delusions created by scared regular humans. And he was right. There was no evil in her. Nor in the expression she held. He had seen that expression in his daughters the night he saved them. She was scared and alone. Being chased away and attacked for everything Geto valued and deemed worthy of life. He should have killed them all where they stood, the pathetic parasites that plagued the earth. But he didn’t, because of her.
Deep within his soul, he knew it was his density to love someone like her. He thought he had escaped the clutches of the all-powerful beings after he had abandoned Gojo for his beliefs.
Seeing the way she defended herself from the very people that she had been raised to rule struck something deep within him. more than he’d like to admit.
He watched on as her ice became sharper and sharper, cutting through the monkeys' limbs like it was nothing. Never delivering killing blows, just ones enough to stop them from attacking. Slowly, he approached, sending a curse to the mortals' way. Not paying attention to the screams of agony that started. But putting his sole focus on the woman- no. The goddess in front of him.
Elsa’s eyes were sharp and skeptical as the tall mysterious man approached. Keeping her guard up, she asked, “You are like me?”
“No, you are like me. You have a unique power that would be valued in the Jujutsu world. You have been persecuted for the perfection that is yourself. No more.”
“There are more like us?” She’d pant out. Never had she met someone like herself. Her whole life, she’d been alone, and now here he was, beauty and strength like no other. “I won’t let them hurt you again. Not ever. To me, you are perfect.” It wouldn’t be long before his wonder turned into an obsession and then into a deep love. Slowly, he’d convince her to be his. In every way that he could, he would have her…
Elsa felt drawn to him in the same way that Geto did to her. It was all-consuming, this connection they shared. Late at night, as she felt his calloused hand caressing her hair, she wondered if it was their destiny to be by each other's sides. With him teaching her how to be more like a monster and her teaching him to be more human.
Would they ever find a medium between the two, or would one drag the other into enlightenment? Whatever happened, Geto wasn’t sure he minded anymore. For as long as he walked the same path Elsa did, he didn’t care where it led them, even if it was right back into the jujutsu sorcerer world, saving the very monkeys he once tried to eradicate.

3 and 5 for Dagger, 6 for Dragula
3. Has your OC killed a friend/family member/loved one? Yes! His adoptive father, Thatch, and his brother (kinda). After he was taken in by nomads as a kid, he never really acclimated well and rejected any attempt at making them his new family. He only cared about his little brother Casey and trying to protect him. He constantly clashed with Thatch even though he defended him a lot from clan elders and other members and generally protected him from facing the consequences of his actions (he was a troubled kid, unsurprisingly lol). Dagger harbored a lot of anger and trauma from his biological father that automatically transferred onto Thatch despite him being a generally Decent Guy and Father Doing His Best with two traumatized orphans. But they argued a lot throughout their life together and eventually Dagger totally snaps and kills him (stabs him 30 times oops). Sometime during those 30 stabbins', Casey interrupts and in wave of panic and adrenaline and blind rage, Dagger ends up cutting Casey's throat. It's a total accident but he watches his brother bleed out in front of him before he runs. Leaves the clan before anyone finds him (and is officially branded Raffen). Little did he know, Casey is actually found by a clan medic and is able to be saved in time! But Dagger lives several years believing him to be dead, and it's one of the biggest defining moments of his life, because without the single thing in this world he actually gave a shit about, he allows himself to detach completely and become truly an unhinged monster and thus its the start of the man the myth and the legend himself.
5. What is your OC’s moral code?
Well. its broken lol! He essentially sees other people as pawns to be used or toyed with, so he generally has no problem ruining lives. "If you got a problem with it square up and stop me" kind of deal. His worldview is shaped around survival of the fittest, and he sees nothing wrong with this. Be the Bigger Monster. If someone isn't willing to stoop that low then it means they're weak and free game and he's probably doing them a favor by killing them. The only people who he won't are children, the outliers in his mentality. Children should be taught to survive. They don't know any better, they need a good example. He'll show them a good example. He'll kill everything around them and then give them a knife. He's practical and realistic (so he believes). He doesn't get attached to anyone (he's just repressed). The only thing in the world that matters is blood. (All of this of course because he witnessed something very bad when he was very small and he never wanted to feel that scared again).
6. Would your OC make a deal with the devil?
There was a time where he was more of an idealist and he wouldn't, but he becomes a bit jaded and detached and for the right price he might. But not for anything like money or status and probably not even power. If he was going to go that far it'd be for something bloody and vengeful and scorched earth. It'd have to be very worth it for him to have a leash around his neck (again.)
