Love Language
*I do not own any CM characters
Summary: reader thinks about how their relationship with Spencer  has evolved through touch!
Warnings: talk of past drug use, crying, angst i guess, but mostly fluff
word count: 2.2 K
A/N: this was pretty fun to write, it is mostly little flashback scenes and I love doing those. I did this after seeing  @veraiconcos‘s writers challenge and thought that was super cool, all of her things are amazing so definitely check out her blog!
enjoy!!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Spencer Reid's love language was never touch. I suppose the burden of all his knowledge is knowing exactly the amount of germs passed by a single touch, and which of those germs are alive, and which could get him sick, and which sickness could take root, and, well you get the point. When I first started at the BAU Spencer still seemed to me like a shy little kid. We were the same age, I like to tell him at least once a day, I'm actually a full month older than him. I think that's one of the many reasons that him and I became friends so fast. My first friend was of course, JJ. After all she is very close in age to me and Spencer, and is one of the first contacts I had with the BAU. She told me before I had met any of the team, that Spencer was, well, different. She made sure to warn me that he doesn't mean anything by his little actions of avoidence. It's just his way of keeping himself safe. This I understood.
The first time I was formally introduced to the team was much before I joined. The interview process is understandably long, they need to know a person before just throwing them in. After all, these people spend more time together working cases then they do in their own homes. -
“Hi, i’m Y/N , the new agent here” I shook the hands of everyone on the team but Spencers, remembering what JJ had told me. To him I smiled and gave a little wave.
“The number of pathogens that can be passed from a-” Spencer after seeing me wave to him began to do just what I suspected. When confronted with an uncomfortable situation, he began to hide behind his wall of facts.
“It's actually much safer to kiss” I continued for him and the look on his face was priceless.
“Yeah, yes, exactly.” A rose colored blush crept up onto his cheeks as he smiled at me.
“Oh great, now there's two of them” Morgan laughed at us before JJ pulled them away for another case.
The first time I saw someone actually touch Reid was when they returned home from the Tobias Hankle case. It hurt me to see Spencer (now my friend of almost four months) so absolutely traumatized. He would never say this to me or anyone else for that matter, but even at the time he came home, he was still feeling the effects of the drugs he was given.-
“Here they come, here they come” Anderson walked over to me as the team approached the glass doors of the BAU. I was surprised to see that Spencer was with them. I had assumed they would have taken him straight home, or maybe to the hospital.
“Welcome back, I'm glad you're alive, Reid,”  he barely opened his eyes and nodded at me before sitting down in his desk chair. I waved JJ over to me.
“How bad?” she sighed and gave me the classic worried mom look we always tease her for.
“Very. I didn't think I would ever see him like this”
“Im so sorry JJ. do you think he’ll be okay?”
“Honestly, I don't know, but i'm going to drive him home, maybe if i'm lucky I can convince him to let me take him to the hospital. I'll call you, okay?”
It worried me even more to know that JJ too, was aware of how badly he was hurt. She turned her back to me and grabbed her coat from her office before going to Spencer's desk. From where I was standing I could just barely make out what she was saying.
“Spence, come on, let's get you out of here”
“JJ I have paperwork to do” he sounded dazed, like he wasn't really sure where he was.
“Its okay Spence, I’m sure Morgan wouldn't mind a few extra”
She gingerly took the files from his hand and helped him sling his satchel over his shoulder. Then, it happened. As they walked out of the room he stumbled. Just a little. Barely enough for anyone else to notice, but I was watching the two of them so carefully as they left I couldn't help but take an involuntary step towards them. JJ took a firm hold of his arm, and put her other free hand on his back. I could see him flinch for just a second, and then, his body relaxed into her and he let her guide him from the room.
After that night I became a full member of the team. Spencer didn't take any time off. He never went to the hospital, although Penn, JJ, and I tried countless times to get him to. After that night when he let JJ help him, when he let her touch him, he never seemed to be overly bothered by a handshake every once and awhile. The first time I touched him was still a while after that, I think my 15th case in the field. -
“Spencer it wasn't your fault.” He looked at me through his black rimmed glasses with a sad and blank expression.
“Then why would he address it to me?”  this whole case I knew something was wrong. After Gideon had not shown the first time, JJ told me that he had resigned, but at that point Spence still hadn't told anyone about the letter.
“Because he knew that you needed to hear the news from him. Not from JJ, or me, or Hotch, or anyone else. There's nothing you could have done to convince him to stay Spence, he's even more stubborn than you are”
I paused to observe him in the dark silence of the jet. I brought my hand to his arm tentatively but when he relaxed and seemed comfortable with the touch, I gave it a little squeeze and smiled at him. -
Now, after Gideon had left I knew it. I had a crush on Spencer Reid. This came as no surprise at all to JJ or Penelope, but to me, it was quite the shock. He had now become comfortable with the little touches of assurance that I gave him often. More comfortable even than with JJ or Morgan. Sometimes I noticed he would even reciprocate the gesture. When he noticed I was tired or stressed or just having a bad day, he would put a hand on the crook of my elbow and give it a little squeeze. Just like I did that night on the jet. To other people this seems like nothing. But to me, and to him as well, this was everything.
When Spencer stayed in Vegas to investigate his father, JJ left. JJ as Spence and I’s best friend, is always a source of comfort and a safe haven in the stormy darkness that is our lives. When she left she pulled me aside away from Spencer and put a hand on her swollen belly. -
“ Y/N , I need to take care of Spence for me, okay?” I chuckled.
“JJ, of course, what do you think I’m here to do?” she looked at me with a deadpan stare.
“That's not what I mean. You know what was happening with him after Tobias right?” I nodded, the memories of his mood flashes, and anger, and sadness all coming to the forefront of my mind.
“he‘s going to need you to make sure that he doesn’t do anything stupid. Not Morgan, not Rossi, not Hotch, you. You are the only person on this team- in this world-. That he trusts right now. And you are the only person that could talk him off of that ledge.”
“I promise, JJ. I’ll keep him safe” She nodded at me but the worried expression on her face remained. -
JJ was worried for good reason as it turned out. I kept a close eye on Spencer as we looked into his past. The boys were all there to focus on the case. To solve what was in front of them. I was there more to focus on Spencer. There was one night. The night after we found his father, something in my brain just told me it was not going to be a good night for him. There was something in the coloring of his face, the way his posture was collapsed and the circles around his eyes were so dark, it told me all that I needed to know. -
I walked out into the hallway of our hotel and stopped in front of Spencer's door. The others were all asleep, and it was nearing one in the morning. But something told me that he needed my help right now. JJ’s voice in the back of my head reminded me that I needed to help him, I was the only one who could help him. I knocked three times on his door softly. I waited a minute before knocking again, with a little more force, and I heard some shuffling in the room before the door opened.
“ Y/N? What are you doing?” I walked inside the room without an invitation and sat down on the foot of his bed. The sheets were undisturbed and he was still in his work clothes though the tie was draped over a chair in the corner and his shoes were by the door.
“Talk to me” I looked up from my hands and continued.
“I don't mean, about the case, or your dad. I mean about you. I need you to convince me that you are okay”
“Who says I'm not?”  I rolled my eyes at him and gestured to the chair across from me.
“I do. And as one of your best friends, your closest colleague, and someone who likes you, a lot. I think that should mean something to you” the last part slipped out a little fast and completely without me thinking of the repercussions.
“You like me?” he gave a faint smile that I could only partially see in the dimly lit hotel room.
“Yes, but that's not the point right now, we’re talking about you not me '' I brushed off his comment but I couldn't help the smile and blush that came across on my face.
“Im struggling” his voice broke a little when he said it and it broke my heart to see him in such pain.
I walked over to the chair he was sitting in and pulled him up by the hand.
“I'm going to hug you now. Is that okay?”
His partial nod was good enough for me. -
I got him through that night. I talked him off the ledge that JJ had warned me of. And she was right. I was the only one who could have done that. When we came back from Las Vegas, although neither of us had said a word, something changed between us. We were more than just friends now, we both knew that, but beyond that, we weren't really sure what we were. He would call me when he needed someone to talk him down, I would call him when I needed someone to talk me down. I would show up at his apartment any hour of the day to help him, and I knew that he would do the same. One of those nights when it just so happened that the both of us needed a little talking down after a hard case, I drove myself over to his apartment to find him on the couch crying.
To see him crying was something that my tired, and broken heart couldn't take. I threw myself next to him on the couch and pulled him into a hug, no questions asked.
“I needed that.” I said as soon as I lifted my head from his shoulder.
“Me too” we were both still crying, but there was something about the atmosphere that had changed. We weren’t alone anymore. We spent hours like that, sitting there, my head on his shoulder, his arm around my back, not saying a word, just collecting ourselves as best we could. At some point in the night I looked over at the clock: 2:45 am
He looked to the clock as well and then over to me, and with a single tear streaming down his face he looked at me and said,
“If I asked you to stay, would you?” I wiped the tear from his cheek.
“You don't even need to ask”  he brought both of his hands to my cheek and pulled me into what I think is the most passionate kiss I have ever received.
That night told us both what we had become. It was no longer little arm touches or calls in the middle of the night. It was waking up to him beside me, seeing his hair ruffled from sleep and his eyes clouded by exhaustion. It was the little worried kisses he gave me in the field and the little squeal of happiness that Penelope made when I told her we were moving in together.
When I first met Spencer I wondered to myself if he would ever be comfortable with touch. But now as his sleeping body lays next to me and instinctually pulls me in closer, I know that there was never any reason to worry. Because even before, when the most contact I would get was arm touches in the midst of a panic, it was enough. It helped me learn that although not everyone wants or shows grand gestures. There are other ways, sometimes even better ways to say, I love you.
(It’s 1 a.m. currently. This is not a request but I just miss Kai so I’m gonna make him miss the reader too.)
~Kai’s S/O and the Long Trip~
Tumblr media
headcanon|scenario|imagine|match-up
-Although he seemed stoic 90% of the time (and he was), he still expressed emotions in his own special way. One of those emotions was longing. Yes when you’re around he pretends like he’s annoyed, and he may very well be! However, his tune changes when the two of you are apart for an extended period of time. Pops likes to joke around and call it the love bug. “My how that boy is sick without you haha!” The old man teased you one day over tea time. Kai couldn’t help it. When you were away it felt like his other half was missing from him. It was too empty, too quiet, and it reminded him of a not so grand time before you came into his life.
-You can imagine what he acted like when it finally came time for the annual friend expedition! This was the once a year trip you and your group of friends go on. It’s a way to reconnect after having been separated for such a long time in different places. It usually only lasted a week or less but to Kai it was like having you away for an entire year! Even though he was silent mostly on the topic, you could tell he was gearing up for it by following you around like a puppy and watching you pack your bag. You giggled to yourself before turning around abruptly and staring at him. Although his mask was adjusted tightly on his face as always, you could easily read his emotion seeping from his eyes. You sighed and held your arms out to him. Without a single moment of hesitation he crossed the room and hugged you tightly. “Angel, why must you go on these foolish trips with those people anyway? I can take you where you want to go just as easily.” He grumbled into your neck and you laughed, pulling out of the hugs. “Those people are my friends Kai, and anyway it’ll be fine ha! I’m only gonna be gone for a few days. I know you can handle it.”
-When the day came for your departure, he didn’t leave until he watched you walk out of sight. He grimaced and looked down at his phone so he could view you on the tracking application he installed (that you both agreed on. Basically life360). Even with the app telling him your location he still couldn’t help but to worry about you 24/7. The very next day he wondered if you were eating, if you’d slept well, if your flight went okay, if maybe you were having fun, was anyone trying to approach you and court you over there, what about the security where you were at? His mind ran a million miles an hour and the others noticed easily. “I guess Y/N is doing that trip thing with her/his/their friends again huh.” Setsuno mumbled while tidying a spilled lunch in one of the break rooms. “Yeah, boss is going a little crazy again. You know the drill. Stay out of the way and make sure not to mess up.” Hojo replied before taking a sip of his coffee.
-Hojo was right. Not only did he worry and miss you but his emotions were impacted as well. Every single little slip-up would be blown out of proportion when you weren’t around him. As Chrono would call it, you were the medicine to calm the beast in him down. Without you being around as a buffer, most situations cost the men in the Hassaikai their life...Although Pops stepped in to make Chisaki bring them back to life of course. At any rate he was going to lose his mind without you there. The man even had trouble sleeping without you by his side. He tossed and turned unable to get comfortable at all. Its funny as a passing thought when he remembers the days cherishing the empty space in his bed. He remembers always saying to himself that he’d rather die than to have another person hogging his blankets and spreading their filth/germs in the bed with him. Now look how the mighty have fallen.
-He also blows up your phone with text messages a lot when you’re away like this. It actually makes you laugh a bit at seeing how much he misses you but he won’t admit it. He does things out of his usual characteristics around the house just as an excuse to talk to you. On the 4th day of your trip you can remember him sending you an obscure meme just to get a reaction out of you so he could text or call. It’s not like you were ignoring him no! It’s just that you didn’t have time to reach out to him first since he was beating you to the punch with everything!
-When you returned to him you frowned at taking in his appearance. The bags under his eyes were a sure fire way to tell he hadn’t even been sleeping without you. Even though he won’t admit he missed you, he still has his ways of expressing himself. “Angel, I’m glad you returned.” He holds you closely and inhales you before slipping his mask down to shower you in kisses. “I’m glad to be home.” You replied.
A Simple Kindness
YOI Snz Fic #1:
I finally sat down and decided to post some of my kink fics from over the years. Starting off with a bang:
Phichit my beloved, be still my beating heart I had to write for my boy. I love him so much, this was one of the first fics I wrote for this fandom. I hope you like it.
Fetish!Yuuri and a sneezy!Phichit because I’m horny and can’t help myself. Also Yuuri being a fuckin disaster is vibe okay!?!
Phichit 🥰⛸️
Just a little fyi I caught a pretty nasty cold ☹️🤧🤒
😬 IDK if you want to kick me out of the dorm.
I get it if you do.
I’ll try to keep my germs to myself! Promise.
😷
Yuuri reads the string of texts no less than thirteen times after receiving them. Because first of all, who gave emojis the right to be so lewd? And second… how the fuck is he supposed to keep it together if Phichit has a cold?
Their dorm is basically the size of a glorified closet there’s no way Yuuri can ahem… keep things to himself… Perhaps he should be more worried about Phichit potentially spreading some kind of virus to him but really that’s not so much a concern, per say… Also, is it wrong to be completely turned on by your friend’s cold and maybe lowkey hoping you catch it yourself?
Moral quandary aside, Yuuri does manage to text back.
I’m sorry to hear that! Of course I’m not kicking you out, you must be exhausted. When does your flight get in?
Yuuri tries to turn his attention back to business ethics but his mind is well and truly in the gutter now. Besides, the professor could not be more dull as he drones on about nothing and Yuuri’s a little busy hyper fixating on the emojis Phichit used.
As he sits there nervously bobbing his leg, Yuuri’s mind wanders to Phichit’s performance at the Cup of China just a day or so ago. He had looked a bit shaky with his jumps in the free skate and Yuuri knows Phichit’s triples are solid. Perhaps he wasn’t feeling well then too? Maybe that’s why he hadn’t placed well and that thought breaks Yuuri’s heart a bit.
Our flight leaves in about half an hour, I should be back around 5.
I’m so tired. Send help 😩
Grimacing at his phone again Yuuri tosses his notebook into his bag.
Do you need anything from the store? I’m going after class.
Yuuri taps his pen nervously on the edge of his desk as the professor’s conclusion slide pops up on the screen. Their midterm essay is due instead of class on Wednesday, which of course, Yuuri has already completed and sent in.
Just as he’s walking out the door, he gets a text that sends a rush of warmth between his legs.
Get lots of tissues and probably some of those disposable face masks. I’m really sneezy. 🤧 🤧 🤧
Like I haven’t really stopped sneezing since we landed in LA. 😩
People are staring at me lol.
Shit… Shit.
How is he even supposed to respond to that?! What does one say when their best friend says something that should be simple conversation but instead is giving Yuuri a new fantasy?
Is there anything else I can grab you?
It’s lame and stupid but holy shit he’s a little busy being jealous of all the people in LAX staring at Phichit…
Just some juice? You’re the best Yuuri! 💖💕💖
While Yuuri definitely disagrees with that sentiment he manages to smother his feelings (salacious and otherwise) long enough to get to the store. He gets four boxes of tissues, a pack of disposable masks, and a few small bottles of juice to put in their mini fridge. There’s a moment where he considers not grabbing disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer, but he decides that he shouldn’t actively try to catch whatever Phichit is bringing with him.
He does his best not to think about his roommate’s condition until he’s back in the dorm. It takes a minute to put away his groceries and another five to feed the hamsters before he throws himself onto his bed. Only then does he let his mind (and okay, yes, his hand too. Sue him) wander. It’s not like he hasn’t seen Phichit sick before, they’ve been rooming together for two years now and they travel internationally. Illness is common, normal for them, even.
Turns out his dick didn’t get that memo, however, and still gets all tingly at the idea of a runny nose. Such is life, he supposes.
Once he’s handled himself, he turns to his schoolwork, the monotony of his assignments. The mundane task does the trick and he feels more in control of himself now. And yeah, okay, jerking off can do that too, crazy world.
He checks his syllabuses to placate his nerves; his history professor is notoriously strict and for a second he’s convinced himself he did his whole mid-term in the wrong citation style. However, his nerves only settle for a minute or two before they bundle up again. This time because his ears catch the sound of a very congested sneeze from down the hall.
Yuuri’s mouth dries a bit as he fidgets on his bed, lord have mercy here we go.
The door opens and Yuuri’s heart instantly beats a bit faster.
Phichit looks terrible even with half his face covered. His eyes are red and watery, his complexion is nearly grey, and there’s a wet spot sitting right in the middle of his face mask.
“Hey. How’s it going?” Phichit asks, his voice is drenched in congestion and the question is punctuated with a harsh sniff.
“I’m alright. I thought you weren’t supposed to land until five.” Yuuri closes his laptop and sets it aside.
“We got- hhin early.” Phichit’s eyes squint up towards the industrial light above. His chest rises sporadically but ultimately leaves him without the satisfaction of a sneeze. “Ciao Ciao took me to the Student Health Center. On the bright side, it’s not the flu.”
“That’s good.” Yuuri manages to nod as Phichit drops his bag at the foot of his bed.
“So how… how wa-was… ahh…” An unnecessary hand raises up to cover his face, though Yuuri wonders if maybe it is necessary considering the sodden material. “He-tchuh! Tishuh!.. heh… heh eh-Psheh!”
“Bless you.” Yuuri forces himself to look away as his roommate wipes his eyes.
“Thank you… snif!” Phichit sighs as he squeezes his eyes shut. “How was your week?”
“Oh, it was fine. Business as usual. It was nice to have practices by myself.” Yuuri watches Phichit deflate into his bed. “Did the health center give you anything?”
“Yeah… but I don’t think I can take it… you know how the ISU is about medication. Don’t wanna risk it.”
“I’m sure your cold medicine isn’t banned.” Yuuri tries to reason.
“Ciao Ciao offered to call the hotline to find something I could take. I told him not to bother… it’s just a cold.” Phichit shrugs out of his coat. Yuuri swears he can see the goosebumps rise on Phichit’s skin when the coat falls to the floor.
“Yeah but… you look pretty-”
“Et-chuh!”
“Bless you… miserable.” Yuuri bites back the undignified sound he wants to make.
“I’ll be fine.” Phichit sniffs a few times, “Ugh, sorry.”
“Don’t be.” Yuuri bites his lip as he shuffles off the bed. “I got your tissues and juice.”
“Tha-hank chuh!... thank you.”
Yuuri opens one of the boxes, then he decides to just bring the trash can with him as he returns to the beds.
“Here.”
He places the bin near the head of Phichit’s bed, when he turns back to his friend he has to bite down hard to keep his jaw from dropping.
Phichit has removed his soiled face mask revealing the mess beneath. His nose is a bright warning label shade of red and its glistens with thin strands of mucous. He sits just on the precipice of a testy sneeze, his eyes half closed, his nostrils flaring dramatically, and of course, the jittery gasps that all culminate in what has to be a hugely reliving release.
“Hep-Tshu! He-Tcha! God.” He groans.
“Bless you.”
Phichit snuffles into no less than six tissues to clean up what must be hours of mess. Between the flight and the drive back to the university… god why does Yuuri sort of wish he were a face mask? What the fuck even…
“You don’t have to keep blessing me… I’m gonna be sneezy all night.” Phichit tosses the wad of tissues into the bin. “Do you want me to wear a mask?”
“Uh, no, you don’t have to. You’re the sick one and you’ve flown halfway across the world today. Just try to get comfortable, okay?”
Phichit looks up at him gratefully, “Maybe you should wear one then? Trust me, you don’t want to catch this.”
Well, that’s just patently untrue… Regardless, Yuuri plucks one of the disposable masks out of the box and throws it on. At least now he can hide his blushing, right? Especially because Phichit sneezes twice more while Yuuri’s back is turned.
“The nurse says it’s just a head cold but Ciao Ciao isn’t letting me skate for at least a week.” Phichit slumps further into his bed, a thin cough escaping his lungs. “I mean, isn’t getting last place punishment enough?”
“I don’t think you’re being punished.” Yuuri says grabbing a bottle of juice from the mini fridge.
“No, it’s punishment… He’s upset because I went out there and did my free skate while I had a fever.”
Yuuri swallows thickly as he puts the drink on the nightstand. “Oh, well, in that case… I guess you’re being punished.”
“What was I supposed to do? I went all the way to China to skate so I-… huh… I skha-ate… skated… uhuh… ehh…” Phichit’s hand raises lethargically in front of his face. He takes four deep inhales clearly trying to entice the sneeze forward and failing to do so.
“Yeah but… You should remember that Celestino is in charge of us, especially when we’re abroad. He wants you to take care of yourself, that’s all.”
“You’re one to talk.” Phichit snorts, the grimace he gives afterwards indicates the action hurts at least a little bit.
“Well… it’s easy to say when I’m not the one in trouble.” Yuuri chuckles nervously.
Phichit squints again, a shaky sigh rattling his chest. “Ehhh… ahh-ha-… huh… come on… Heptshah! Hatchu! Etsha-ETCHOO!”
Yuuri has to really focus on not paying attention to his groin after that particular display. Holy shit, why does his roommate – his best friend no less – have to be the perfect picture of a head cold?
“Bless you.” Yuuri can’t help himself from commenting as Phichit mops up his nose.
“Thank you…”
“You don’t have any mid-terms coming up do you?” Yuuri asks settling back into his own bed.
“No, thank god.” Phichit looks up from blowing his nose, “Did them all before I left. If I can’t skate there’s no way I’m going to class.”
“That’s good then, you have time to rest.” Yuuri tries in vain to return to his assignment but it’s incredibly difficult considering the circumstances. Phichit really is sneezing every five to ten minutes which is starting to wear on Yuuri’s resolve. Between blowing, sniffling, and sneezing he’s basically living in the type of universe his wildest wet dreams could only imagine.
It’s a relief when Ciao Ciao calls him.
“How are you Yuuri?” He asks, perfectly unaware of how ridiculous that question sounds to him.
“I’m alright…”
“Great, can you do me a favor? I got Phichit some medication for his cold can you come get it from my office?”
“Sure thing coach, I’ll be there in a bit.” Yuuri nearly runs out of the room. Part of him is a bit embarrassed to do so. The last thing he wants is Phichit thinking he finds his cold disgusting, but damnit he has a great excuse now to get his shit together. He throws his mask away the second he sees a trash bin and instantly takes a deep breath. The world is certainly testing his resolve today.
The walk to Celestino’s office is blissfully calm and the cool evening air does the trick. By the time he arrives, Yuuri feels like himself again and he’s not being manhandled by his dick, thank god. Ciao Ciao corrals him into a conversation about the Grand Prix Final coming up in December before handing off the medication.
Yuuri strolls back to the dorms at a leisurely pace, his head swirling with an ocean of thoughts. Between the Final, schoolwork, and the intrusive thoughts about Phichit’s cold; his brain is overrun with activity.
When he pushes into their room he finds the lights are still on but Phichit is dead to the world. Still, he tries to rouse his friend from his slumber.
“Phichit? Celestino got you some medicine.” Yuuri says softly putting a hand on his shoulder to shake him. There’s a moment where Yuuri can’t help himself. He finds his hand creeping up to Phichit’s forehead to check for temperature. He’s warm but not to such a degree that Yuuri is concerned.
Phichit’s eyes crack open just the slightest bit.
“Hey, Ciao Ciao got you-”
“Het-chu!” Phichit’s eyes shut as he jolts forward with the sneeze.
Yuuri pulls his hand back and closes his gaping mouth. Holy shit, holy shit, Phichit just sneezed on him. Any resolve he might have gained on his little walk around campus instantly leaves his body as he takes a step back.
Phichit, however, hasn’t seemed to notice at all as he rears back for another sneeze.
Yuuri pushes the tissue box a fraction closer to his friend. Phichit buries his face into the offered tissues and sneezes two more times before he seems to be aware of the world around him.
“Ugh… Hey, how… how long have you been gone?” Phichit asks pulling another tissue out of the box to blow his nose.
“About an hour. Ciao Ciao got you some ISU approved medicine.” Yuuri holds out the box to him, still reeling from what has just happened. His legs feel weak and he’s incredibly warm inside.
“And you… Aw, Yuuri that’s so nice of you to go get it for me. Thank you.”
“It was no trouble.” Yuuri tries to hide the furious blush overtaking his features.
“I’d hug you but I don’t think either of us want that.” Phichit sniffs to prove the point.
Yuuri turns back to his bed while Phichit downs a dose. When Yuuri turns around he sees the familiar sight of Phichit scrolling through his phone.
“You don’t want to get back to sleep?”
“I’m making sure Chris yelled at Viktor for me.” Phichit wipes his nose with the heel of his hand.
Yuuri sputters out a few incomprehensible sounds before eventually settling on a: “Huh!?”
“Oh, yeah. Viktor was patient zero.” Phichit rolls his eyes, “I’m pretty sure that he either doesn’t know how to cover his mouth or he was conspiring against us. The man was a walking biohazard during our practice days.”
It’s official, Yuuri no longer exists. Not on this Earth and maybe not even the next. Phichit has Viktor King-of-the-Ice Nikiforov’s cold. Phichit got to witness Viktor having the head cold from hell for days, and he apparently never covered his mouth. And now Yuuri has been infected. With Viktor’s cold. Viktor’s sneezy drippy cold. What a world.
The next few days are going to be quite the adventure. And Yuuri has some internet sleuthing to do to see if anyone recorded the Cup of China practice…
*dreamy sigh AGAIN*
thinking of maitake taking care of you when you catch a cold. michi just concerned out his skull and mikey watching him be attentive and all over you out the corner of his eye.
he looks bored.. almost uninterested at your sick form, the quiet stuffy whimpers that leave your lips as you call for takemichi.
you’re (rightfully) hurt, thinking your boyfriend didn’t care about you being sick. maybe he didn’t want you because you were just a breeding ground of germs but honestly, the reason he’s so to himself is so ‘stupid’.
draken had told him that a sick person needs space. it’s easy for them to get irritable and mikey himself knew that, when he fell ill he’d be so much closer to losing his temper than anytime. hating the people being in his space.
“i’m going out to buy you some food and medicine.” takemichi says, putting his coat on. he places a quick kiss on your cheek and he’s out the door. mikey looks at you from the other couch and when you make eye contact he almost gets whiplash from how quickly he turns his head.
“mai..” you whisper, your heart feeling heavy.
it breaks his heart almost immediately, he just wants to be in your space and he just wants to dote on you. but he can’t.. he doesn’t want you to waste your energy losing your temper.
“y/n..” he says looking elsewhere. his settings app seems to be interesting at the moment.
you sniffle a little and just turn to face away. his avoiding gaze was enough to dampen your mood further.
——
it’s night time and takemichi had come home a few hours ago. mikey retires to bed earlier and just lays there.
takemichi is in the tv room taking care of you on the pullout couch bed (they got it because you bullied them into doing it). he’s feeding you some soup, you can’t help but smile at how caring he’s being.
mikey stands up to go to the bathroom. his light footsteps carrying him half way to the bathroom when he hears you ask,
“michi.. do you think mikey cares?”
if he was holding something, he would’ve dropped it because how dare you question his character! you and takemichi were the closest beings to a god in his eyes. he cares about you! he loves you! why wouldn’t he?
takemichi is taken aback and visibly shows it.
“are you kidding right now?” he asks, blowing on the soup again so it isn’t too hot.
you shake your head, pouting softly. your eyes tear up and you feel like you’re being sensitive but.. why hasn’t mikey done anything?
you hated being babied but you have two boyfriends. not one and when you got the chance and wanted to be, you milked every last bit of being their baby.
mikey basically ran over to you and gave your forehead a kiss, holding your head back for an easier kiss. his forehead touched your chin and you pouted.
“i’m sorry i made you feel that way.” he whispers. his eyes closed. takemichi watches the two of you as he holds the soup dish in his hands.
“i just thought that if i was in your face the whole day, you’d get annoyed. you already had take there..” he explains himself, walking around the couch to sit by your legs.
“why’re you so stupid,” you hit his arm softly, sitting up properly. “you’re my boyfriend, of course i’d want you in my face when i’m sick.”
you sniffle and wipe your tears away.
“next time i’ll know better.”
“uhm, there is no next time.. sick people are a pain in the ass and i’m tired of being worried.” takemichi chimes in, passing you the medication
“sorry captain T-H. no more sick people.” you say, saluting him before drinking the medicine.
mikey stands up to give takemichi a kiss and gives him a small salute.
Title: That Jerk
Pairing: Spencer Reid x BAU! Reader
Summary: Spencer is sick and reader takes care of him.
Warnings: cussing (one word)
WC: 725
AN: Can you guys tell I’m sick and how I wish Spence was the one doing this? ♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘♙♖♗♘
Spencer was not one to get sick. Thanks to his aversion to germs he took every precaution necessary to not get sick. There had been three occasions in which Spencer had gotten sick. The first was two years after entering the BAU, in which case Garcia made it her life’s mission to take care of the man she became to think of as her little brother. Garcia made sure Spencer always had a hot cup of tea, a blanket, tissues, cough drops, hot soup, and anything necessary for Spencer so he could get through the day.
When Spencer got sick for a second time it was Derek’s turn to take care of him and he did it without a second thought. What Derek was not aware of was how much did Spencer liked being taken care of. It made sense, after all of his life taking care of people, he would like to be taken care of while he was at his weakest. Contrary to Garcia, Morgan just dropped off any necessities that Spencer would eventually need, shooting a text or two to check-up on him.
It had been two years since Spencer had gotten sick. During that time, y/n had joined the BAU. Quickly forming a close friendship with Spencer, constantly going to museums together, trading books with each other,  going out for coffee and going to pumpkin patches and Christmas tree farms together.
Spencer and Y/N were set to attend a book signing of one of y/n’s favorite authors Taylor Jenkins Reid, they were set to meet up at the bookstore, y//n grabbing a quick bite to eat and Spencer promised to bring the coffee.
Y/N got to the bookstore 10 minutes before the arranged time that Spencer and they had agreed upon, quickly becoming worried because Spencer was usually there 15 minutes before the agreed-upon time. Thinking he was just running late, y/n sat down on a nearby bench. 10 minutes past 5:00 pm Y/N decided to call Spencer, knowing something had to be wrong.
YN:  hey, boy wonder, did you forget about our bookstore outing? You promised you would finally read a book by Taylor Jenkins R if she personally signed it.
SR:  hey y/n *sniffles* sorry, looks like I can’t make it
YN: a-are you sick? Spencer, you never get sick!
SR: I know, and I’m sorry
YN: No worries, I’m coming over with soup and hot tea
SR: NO! NO! It’s fine I do not need anything
YN: Well, you’re coughing uncontrollably so you really do not have a choice.
SR: gaaaah! I’m taking a nap. Bye.
Unbeknown to Y/N Spencer was having a panic attack. He did not want them to find out just how much he loved being taken care of when being sick, he thought that it would make them think of Spencer as a baby.
Spencer Jolted awake as he heard noises coming from what seemed to be his kitchen. Cabinets opening and closing, dishes being moved. As he was about to grab his gun and make his way to the kitchen area he heard something that caused his heart to skip a beat, the headache he once had gone in an instant.
“Ow, stupid corner stubbing my toe” y/n pouted. Spencer couldn’t help but let out a giggle as he approached them.
“What are you doing here?”
“Well good morning sleepy head.” Y/N said, “I got here yesterday but you were knocked out.”
“You… you stayed the night?” a perplexed Spencer asked.
“ well of course I did! Needed to make sure my favorite genius was okay! Anyways, Derek and Penny filled me in on all your wants and needs when you are sick so please take a look at the table”
And as he does, Spencer notices not only medicine, but comfort movies, new books, those super soft tissues that don’t make your nose all red, jello, and breakfast.
With the biggest doe eyes Spencer looks over to y/n and says
“Derek never made me breakfast, fucking jerk” followed with the sweetest laugh that someone could ever hear.
And at that moment they knew that they couldn’t spend another day without telling Spencer how they felt about them. Maybe, just maybe today was the day they said those three little words.
sick!reader headcanons
Tumblr media
saiki kusuo x reader
word count: 0.5k
cw: n/a
genre: fluff
reader is gender neutral!
===================================================
notes:
i’m feeling a bit ill since i had to get a vaccine earlier today... so i decided to write some headcanons for when y/n (in this case me... and you??? you’re sick now too???) is ill
waa enjoy ;__;
===================================================
✦ saiki is a bit clueless how to take care of people when they’re sick, but he’s a smart guy. observing how his parents would take care of each other, combined with his knowledge about medicine and the human body, he may be a bit stiff, but he kinda knows what he’s doing.
✦ he’ll ask his mom for advice, and she’ll make soup for you. she makes him deliver it.
✦ saiki will linger around you for a bit, a bit unsure and hesitant to ask, but he’ll try to read your mind to see what you need. this is your chance to order him around, he’ll do nearly anything that you ask of him.
✦ he wishes he could just heat your body up to kill all the germs, but he realizes quickly that doing that might actually just harm you. even if you knew about his powers he doesn’t want to risk hurting you further.
✦ if you’re tired he’ll occupy himself in your room while you rest. he’ll keep a close eye on you though, and will wander over and admire your face while you’re resting. if he’s feeling bold (which he is), he’ll gently cup your cheek, and brush his thumb alongside your cheekbone. watching your lips form to a little smile is worth the slight embarrassment. if he’s feeling REALLY bold (which he is), he’ll plant a kiss on your forehead. he’ll deny doing both of these if you call him out on it.
✦ he doesn’t mind laying down with you either. you don’t even have to properly ask, he’ll practically leap into your arms if you outstretch them. he doesn’t want to fall asleep, but your head fits so perfectly between his neck and shoulder, and you’re so warm that he winds up dozing off too.
✦ if you’re a bit too nice and try to usher him away because you “don’t want him to get sick”, he’ll get visibly annoyed because he literally cannot get sick. he also doesn’t want you worrying about him.
✦ he will use his powers to keep his own body cool so that you don’t overheat, as well as wipe any sweat off your forehead. despite his laziness, he’ll eventually wake up and feel awake, but you’re clinging to him so tightly he doesn’t want to disturb you. he’ll just read a book until you wake up fully.
✦ he’ll eliminate anything that could be causing you discomfort. is there a noisy sprinkler outside? he’ll stop it. are you uncomfortable? he’ll adjust things to make sure you can lay peacefully. are there too many people in your house? he’ll send them out for a while, or he’ll teleport the two of you back to his home.
✦ if you missed school, he’ll bring the notes to you. he won’t do your homework for you, but he’ll definitely lend a hand. he won’t let you copy, but he’ll sit by you so you don’t get too stressed out.
✦ saiki tends to slip out of social situations when he has to, but he’s different with you because he likes you, so he’ll actually stick pretty close until you feel better. although he will pull away a bit once you recover, but he’s an introvert, what can you do. he’ll take a favor from you as payment for his care when he feels like it.
Spencer gets a cold and hes so dramatic about it and makes a point to highlight this is why he doesn’t shake hands! Lol with Spencers phobia of germs, he’d have the worst man-cold reaction ever (you know when men get sick and act like the world is ending lol)
you hated when spencer got sick. not just because it sucked to see him in pain and struggling. but also because he somehow managed to the biggest baby whilst also being extremely stubborn. it was impossible to deal with him
it was a monday when he first woke up feeling poorly. "spencer, you can't go into work." you told him that morning. of course he refused, stating that he was fine...that it wasn't a big deal. but it was. he was a mess the whole day... falling asleep all over his paperwork, working through 3 boxes of tissues and finishing all the tea in the break room. still, he protested against everyone telling him to go home.
when you both got back to the apartment, he'd asked you, very politely, to sleep in the other room. "so you don't get sick as well." he explained. you thought it was ridiculous, but you agreed, not wanting to stress him out. as the days passed, he'd took more precautionary steps. covering his lower face with a mask, sanitising everything he touched, refusing to touch anything on the train without a pair of gloves. when you asked him why his response was simple, "no one else should have to feel like this y/n." he whined.
you'd noticed a pattern in the few times you'd seen spencer sick. the first few days, he would try and tough it out, wanting to be independent and work through the cold. this obviously only made things worse. then after the period of stubbornness was over, mr clingy showed up. you loved mr clingy...though that may have been something to do with your constant need to be needed.
it was thursday morning when spencer knocked on your door, standing in just a plain t-shirt and a pair of patterned boxers. his hair was messy and eyes heavy. "i threw up." he whispers, and though it's not funny, you have to hold back a laugh at the way he says it. you take him back to the bathroom, grabbing a headband to move his hair out of his face, he's grateful for this. as he recovers from emptying his stomach, you run to the kitchen to gather everything you would need; water, some dry snacks and a hot and cold compress.
when you get back upstairs, he was lying down. his covered back pressed against the cool tile of the bathroom floor. "spence.. here baby sit up." you said, tilting the glass towards him and helping him drink. he smiled at you the best he can as you stroked his back gently. you lifted him off the floor, moving him to bed. his body relaxed as it fell against the cool sheets. "keep drinking this." you told him. he listened.
"how did this happen." he whined as you placed the cold compress against his burning forehead. you had a faint idea. he'd left the house without his scarf the other day, one of the coldest of the year so far. and when he'd gotten back, he'd been a little sniffly. but he has his own theory, "i bet it was that guy on the train, the one who kept coughing into his hand... the germs y/n...i hate germs." you let him have his theory; he needs it.
he sleeps for a while after. you manage to call hotch and let him know neither of you would be coming in. he understands, simply glad that spencer finally decided to give in and rest. you promise to collect the paperwork you'd miss, but he tells you not to worry, it can be done another day. with that sorted, you get to work making spencer some soup. he'd refused to have any the past few days, "i'm not sick y/n, soup is what sick people have."
but when you brought it up to him a few hours later, he finished the bowl in record time. "i like this soup." he says, and you smile, glad he's finally allowing you to take care of him. he doesn't say no when you crawl into bed with him, resting his head against your lap as your run your fingers through his hair. a documentary is playing on the tv, but neither of you is paying attention. "i'm sorry." he whispers, voice a little hoarse from coughing.
"for what?" you asked, confused. he sniffles momentarily, and you're not sure whether he has a runny nose or if he's crying. either way, you pass him a tissue.
"i should've listened to you." he admits. and it's hard to not feel a little 'told you so' moment is occurring. you don't say it, though, just wiping away a stray tear from his cheek, telling him it's ok.. that you're here to take care of him.
you take the rest of the week off, using the few days to help him get back to his usual healthy self. you shouldn't enjoy babying him as much as you do, but you can't help it. you know he's spent so many years doing everything by himself, struggling alone... so now, when you have the chance to let him know he's not alone. you take it.
sunday night rolls around quickly. spencers feeling much better, and you confirm with hotch that you would both be in tomorrow, he's glad to hear it. the two of you get ready for bed, making sure to check spencers temperature one last time, the screen turning green to let you know he was back to normal. it's a welcome sign.
the following morning, you both get dressed and head off to work. spencer keeps his mask and gloves on though you refuse, not wanting to look so out of place. he shrugs, "you'll get sick." he says, almost knowingly, and you laugh it off.
the next few days are regular, slow workdays. you're feeling a little tired; you chalk that down to the dull masses of paperwork you have before you. but then your throat starts to tickle, and your nose starts to itch. you ignore it, after all, it is allergy season. but then something happens.
"achoo."
the noise is barely out of you before it captured spencers attention. he looks up at you from his desk, sighing as he rummages through his drawer before walking over to your desk. he hands you a mask, keeping his distance from you, "here, i told you...." a smug look is plastered on his face. "...the germs." is all he says, and you shake your head as you put on your mask.
germs.... you hate the germs.
Friends to lovers- Sakusa
Tumblr media
“I’m coming.” You pressed the doorbell again, “I said, I’m coming Jesus Christ why do people have to be impatient.” He opened the door and froze. “Oh, hey, it’s you. You are… late. Very late.” You sighed giving him a look before walking in. “I was starting to think you weren’t coming. What took you so long?”
“You can take a seat in the living room, I figured we could watch funny videos while we eat.” You walked into the living room. “Is everything okay? You don’t look well.”
“Well, thanks.”
“I didn’t mean it like that. I meant, you look… sick. Do you have a fever or something?”
“No, I’m okay.”
“Are you sure that you’re okay?”
“Yes.”
“Okay if you say so. Luckily I kept the food warm until you came.”
“You did?”
“Well, you can never be too sure. I just trust you would’ve messaged me if you weren’t gonna come. Unless you've been in an accident or something like that of course. Um, I’ll bring you some food you just wait here…” His words began to drown out and replaced by a ringing noise before everything went black, Sakusa ran to you as you fell. “Y/n? Hey?” He shook you a little before sighing. He picked you up and carried you to his room, placing you on his bed. “Please be okay.” He ran downstairs picking up his phone, hesitating. He knows you wouldn’t like it if he called the ambulance, so he put his phone down and grabbed a bottle of water instead and waited for you to come through.
When you did however, the ringing returned only for a split second. “Uh, Sakusa?” He walked in and stood by the bed.
“Oh, you’re awake.”
“Where am I?”
“You're in my bed, I carried you over here after you passed out.”
“How long was I out?”
“I’m not sure, but it wasn’t too long. How are you feeling?”
“I feel fine.”
“Cut the crap and be honest with me.”
“Uh, sorry. I’ve been studying.”
“Yeah, figures. You made me really worried there. You know that?”
“Sorry…”
“I was considering calling the ambulance, but I knew you wouldn’t like that.”
“Sorry, I’m getting germs all over your bed.” You tried to sit up but Sakusa sat in front of you keeping you down.
“No don’t get up. You should obviously stay laying down. Just lay still I don’t want you to pass out on me again.”
“But the germs,” You said, trying to sit up again, but he wouldn’t let you.
“Just quit being so stubborn and let me take care of you.” You froze looking up at him.
“Can you handle the germs?”
“Yes, since you’re obviously not capable of taking care of yourself.”
“Okay…”
“Did you have anything to drink today?”
“Like water?”
“Yeah, I didn’t mean alcohol you moron. Water. Did you drink any water or anything fluid in general.”
“No… not yet.”
“Well, that explains everything for me. Here.” He handed you the bottle, letting you sip up. “Did you work as hard as well?”
“Yeah.”
“You most likely overworked yourself and dehydrated. Under stress and all that's probably gotten to you. You never learn when to stop pushing yourself do you? And you never learn when to drink.”
“You sound like a mom.”
“Ha, ha, very funny. But seriously it’s not good to push yourself so far, you’ve always been the kind person who wants the best for everyone around you. And I really do admire that about you. But please, you won’t be able to help anyone if you can’t take care of yourself, either. There is a reason they tell you to put on your own oxygen mask before help out others when your on a flight.”
“I know.”
“Good. Also remember it’s okay to cancel appointments if you’re not feeling well.”
“But I wanted to come today.”
“But if you were tired you could’ve texted me, we could have rescheduled the whole game night thing to another day. Don’t get me wrong, as much as I enjoy spending time with you, playing games and so on. Your own health comes first, I want you to promise me something. If you’re ever too tired to hang out, you text me, consel, got it?”
“Uh, I will try.”
“Oh for god sake.”
“Asahi isn’t here.”
“Y/n. Promise me, I’m not letting you leave here before you promise me.”
“Is that a threat?”
“Yeah, that is a threat.”
“Oh, what must I do?”
“You’re a little shit, you know that?”
“I promise.”
“Good, and you better keep this promise. Or else… yeah, I’m not going to finish that sentence. Here, drink more water.” You did as told, smiling at him after. “Is that better?”
“Yes, Omi. Thank you.”
“Sorry I’m being so… strict with you.”
“Why are you being strict if you don’t mind me asking?”
“I don’t know, it’s just… it’s just really difficult seeing someone you love not taking care of themselves and having to stand there next to them watching them get both physically and psychologically hurt over and over. I’ll also try my best to help."
“It won’t be easy, with the germs.”
“Of course it’ll be easy. Because I care about you.”
“Wait, what did you say?”
“What did I say? Seriously, did you just hear me?”
“No, about seeing someone you love get hurt, part.”
“What? No. I didn’t not say that.”
“Yes you did.”
“I am very certain that I did not at all use the word love.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, I think I remember what I said more than you would. It was me who said it after all. Uh, yeah, that makes sense.”
“Are you sure?”
“You know what? I can’t be bothered to be arguing with you right now.”
“So, I was right?”
“No, that does not mean that you’re right.”
“Uh-huh.”
“Hm, okay. Fine, maybe I did say love.”
“As a friend?”
“As a friend? You think I’d be all awkward and try to explain it and deny it if I actually loved you as a friend?”
“No?”
“No, exactly. There are definitely some stronger feelings there.”
“How long have they been there?”
“Well, I don’t know exactly how long, it’s really difficult to answer. It’s like, I don’t know. Just the moment we started talking, you’ve constantly been a good person in every single way. You have all these good qualities that I just really appreciate. It wasn’t really anything pacific about you. Or anything pacific that you did. It was just like an accumulation of all those small qualities that just eventually made me wake up in bed one day and I just thought, yeah. I love her. And I just didn’t want to risk the friendship.”
“I do.” He looked up at you confused.
“What? You do?”
“Yes, I want to risk our friendship, Omi.”
“Does that mean that… we, you know… are we together? Like a couple?”
“Do you want to be?”
“I mean, yeah. That is what I want. Is that what you want?”
“It is.”
“Okay good then we’re in agreement.” You looked at him and sighed.
“Um, Omi?”
“Hm?”
“Is it okay… if I want to kiss you?” He looked at you in shock before sighing, scooting closer to you.
“It is. I’ve been wanting to kiss you for a while now… even my germaphobia agrees.” You shook your head before bringing his mask down, taking in the sight of him, he’s so handsome without his mask. He cupped your cheek hesitantly, “sorry still a germaphobe,” he told you softly.
“It’s okay.” Once he was an inch away, you spoke again, “you know, it’s actually safer to kiss?” He smirked at your question, nodding his head before placing his lips on yours. You sighed into it scooting closer to the boy.
Year 847 - Spring
This. Was. Miserable. The rain pelleted down as you rode back to the wall, Erwin finally calling the retreat after over 3 hours of the weather not clearing up which was already risky since you would not be able to use your smoke flares to signal the other squads of any titans. Thunder and lightning crackled and boomed over you as the storm worsened each minute, the wind whipping your soaked cloak around so violently that it whipped you in the face a couple of times, a nice red mark forming on your cheek from one of the hits.
You braced yourself as another gust of powerful wind pushed you. You cursed Erwin for making you come out on this mission, your mind thinking about how Levi was probably warm in his office with the fire going probably completely so absorbed in his work that he doesn’t even notice the weather outside. You could only hope he hadn’t noticed knowing he would be worried otherwise.
Despite the weather, you couldn’t say this mission was a complete failure. You had located the group of Titans that were near the south side of the wall and had cleared out the few that hung around the outpost you had stayed at the last two days. Reclaiming it once again. A total of 8 solo kills for yourself to add to your ever-growing number. You finally were able to see Wall Rose coming into view and you had to force yourself to not go faster and break formation. You were cold, tired, and sore. You were more than ready to crawl into your bed to sleep for the next week if they would let you.
You passed a couple of abandoned homes as you got closer to the wall, nature starting to take over once again now that no one lived within Wall Maria. Almost two years have passed since that day and things were just now starting to feel normal, as normal as living in a world with man-eating giants could be that is.
You could hear the bells signaling your arrival as you got close to the gate.  You sat up straighter as you walked through the city putting on a brave face for the people that still held fear in their eyes knowing that the Colossal titan could return at any moment. You wished you could help ease that fear even if it was just a small fraction. The rest of the ride was smooth now that you were within the safety of Wall Rose.
You handed your horse off to the stable hand but not before giving her some much need pets for a job well done making a mental note to bring her some apples, a tradition of your own after each mission. Your boots made a gross sloshing sound with each step from the water that had soaked into your socks. Levi was going to be so mad about you not taking them off before coming inside but your body was so tired you weren’t even sure you were able to get them off by yourself at this point. You stopped in front of Hange’s door knocking on it, a muffled ‘come in’ sounding through the door.
You opened it to see her slouched over her desk looking up with a big smile on her face when she saw it was you, an excited ‘Ooo’ noise coming out of her lips as she reached out with grabby hands. You pulled out the small notebook putting it in her palm as you turned around to leave.
“That’s all the notes I could manage to take this time,” You mumbled as you headed for the door with a wave of your hand.
“You are incredible, you know that!” She beamed as you walked out shutting the door behind you. You dragged your feet down the hall until you stood in front of your shared quarters with Levi, you paused staring down at your soaked muddy boots trying to see if there was a way for you to get them off without having to bend over or sit down. You stood there for a few more minutes still running through options in your head when the door opened suddenly showing and annoyed Levi his eyes narrowing as he looked you up and down.
“You look like shit.” You narrowed your eyes at him as you let out a sneeze as if on cue. He grimaced brows scrunched in disgust but still opened the door further for you to enter, you heard him grumble about your shoes as you went to take a seat on the chair by the fire as he shut the door behind you. He let out a sigh as he kneeled helping you get out of your soaked boots placing them by the fire to dry. He leaned in placing a small kiss to your forehead.
“I’ll go run you a bath,” He told you softly, you nodded your head as he walked through your bedroom to the attached bath. Your head lulled to the side as you stared at the fire your eyes fighting to stay open. You let out a deep sigh as the fire slowly started to warm your body, your joints starting to ache as they began relaxing. Levi came back giving your arm a gentle shake to make sure you were still awake before helping you back up and to the bathroom.
You let out a sigh when the hot water hit your body your muscles beginning to relax almost instantly. Levi helped you wash your hair and body as you fought to stay awake letting out a fit of coughs making him raise a brow in question. Once you were cleaned of the expedition Levi helped you out and you dried yourself off, putting on some clean sleepwear before he guided you to the bed. You sniffled, your nose feeling congested as he tucked you into the warm blankets. He gave another concerned look before going and putting out the candles the room falling into comfortable darkness the only sound from the fireplace and his feet shuffling around until he made it to the bed crawling in behind you.
You rolled over and he pulled you closer to him so that you could rest your head on his chest listening to the soft beat of his heart and feel the soft rise and fall of his breaths.
“I was worried,” He whispered playing with ends of your hair working out any knots he came across.
“I promised I would always come back,” You titled your head to look up at him with a soft smile before another fit of coughs caused you to roll away to avoid coughing on him. Once you were done, he pulled you into him kissing the back of your head. You were sick there was no doubt. You silently cursed Erwin again as you sniffled not being able to breathe through your nose.
“Get some sleep,” Levi whispered softly turning to blow out the candle on the nightstand, the only light coming from the fireplace. You let out a comfortable sigh as you slipped deeper into the mattress letting the night take you into a deep sleep.
Tumblr media
“I wouldn’t worry too much Levi,” You faintly heard Hange’s voice as you came to, the light of the sun shining down on your face the soft sounds of birds singing outside your window. You kept your eyes shut as you slowly adjusted to the light.
“It’s been two days, Hange” Levi’s worried voice came from the other room, your eye blinked open as you listened trying to remain quiet. You noticed your nose was now clear a small sense of relief went through you with that, hating the stuffy feeling. Even though you had just woken up your body was still tired and if you really wanted you could probably fall right back asleep.
“There are few others from that expedition down with the flu as well, y/n is only human. She’ll recover.” Hange reassured Levi and that piqued your interest, how long were you asleep for? Your throat began to itch from the dryness, and you let out a round of coughs catching the attention of the other two. Levi was first to walk in going and grabbing a glass he had placed on the nightstand next to you handing it to you as he helped sit you up. You took a couple of gulps sighing as the cool liquid eased the soreness of your throat.
Levi took the glass back from you, setting it back down before feeling your forehead with the back of his hand, looking at you with concerned eyes but then a small hint of relief flashed through them.
“Your fever has gone down a bit,” He stated with a soft smile as he leaned in to place a kiss on your forehead, you let out a few small coughs using the back of your hand to cover your mouth from spreading the germs.
“Glad to see you rise from the dead, another day or two and shortie over there probably would have had assembled the best doctors from Sina to treat you,” Hange joked leaned up against the bedroom door frame with a smirk as Levi quickly shot a glare at them,
“Don’t you have some titan to torture?” He spat and she let out a loud chuckle before she stood up with a wave as she left.
“I’m happy you’re okay, y/n” She shouted before you heard the office door shut leaving just Levi and you now
“How-” another cough “How long was I out?” You asked your voice coming out hoarse from lack of use and from being sick no doubt.
“Two days,” He answered going to reach for the water but you shook your hand signaling you didn’t need it. He grabbed it anyway and you let out a sigh taking it from him finishing it off.
“You don’t need to baby me,” You whined handing him the empty glass, He clicked his tongue.
“You’ve been out for two days, you need water,” He said setting the glass back on the nightstand. You laid back on the pillows closing your eyes once again ready to drift back off to sleep.
“Tch! You need to eat before you fall back into a coma,” He stated giving you’re a little shake causing you to let out a small groan as you fluttered your eyes back open with a small glare and pout. He smiled down at you pushing your hair out of your face.
“Let me sleep Levi,” You whined again, going to roll over away from him, but he was quick to snake an arm around your waist preventing you from rolling away.
“I’ll get you a bath going before I go get us some food, hmm?” He offered, you let out a defeated sigh giving a small nod and he helped you sit up, your legs felt weak from the lack of movement. He left to the bathroom to get the bath ready. You stretched out your limbs trying to wake them up. You slowly made your way to standing trying to make sure you wouldn’t collapse to the floor, that was the last thing you need with Levi being as attentive as he was. It had been a while since you’d been sick but the last time you remember him being just like this except your cold was much worse being in the underground.
You slowly dragged your feet across the floor making your way into the bathroom to be greeted with the warm steam the tub had filled the room with the faint scent of lavender in the air. Levi noticed you walk in and was quick to your side helping you to the tub which you couldn’t help but chuckle softly to yourself shaking your head.
“Levi, I’m not made of glass,” You smirked as he helped you undress. He rolled his eyes at your comment before helping you get into the tub, you sighed once you were all the way in resting your head against the edge. Levi gave you a kiss on the head before leaving to get your food. You honestly could fall asleep with how warm the water was, but you knew how badly that could end and Levi would scold you about how it was dangerous.
You washed your body and hair by the time he got back you were already out, lying back in your bed with fresh sleep clothes on. You coughed a few times as he sat down next to you a bowl of soup in his hands as he waited for you to finish coughing. You set the bowl in your lap careful not to tip it and get it all over the bed as you slowly ate, you weren’t very hungry, but you knew Levi wouldn’t let you go back to sleep without at least getting something in your system.
Once you were finished, he took your bowls setting them on the side table as he helped tuck you back into bed. You smiled softly as you watched him tuck the blankets into your side. He glanced up at you with a curious gaze.
“What?” He asked sounding annoyed, but the small smile gave him away, you hummed shaking your head.
“Just thinking how I should get sick more often, this is nice,” You murmured, nuzzling into the blankets, you were finding it to be more and more difficult to keep your eyes open. Levi clicked his tongue at your comment and went to reply but when he looked up, he saw you had already fallen back asleep soft snores coming from you.
Tumblr media
It took another two days for you to start feeling well enough to start working again. Levi was persistent to still wait another day, but you couldn’t lay in the bed for another day sneaking out of the room while Levi was in a meeting with Erwin to go train with Hange.
Both of you had sweat dripping from your heads and you were both breathing heavily going back and forth on hand-to-hand combat. You knew you wouldn’t be able to go for much longer feeling the effects of having been in a bed for four days to take its toll. You would need to rebuild your stamina again.
“So how did you get Levi to let you train?” Hange asked going for an attack that you were quick to dodge easily countering and tossing her on the ground with a huff. You offered her your hand which she gladly took.
“Well,” You rubbed the back of your neck a little embarrassed, “I kind of snuck out,” Hange looked at you with a blank face before bursting out laughing.
“You- you had to sneak out of your own room?” She chuckled as you walked to the bench on the edge of the training ground. You let out a sigh taking the towel she offered you wiping the sweat from your forehead and neck.
“It's not funny Hange!” You groaned plopping down on the bench with a huff,
“I mean it’s not surprising if you think about it. Remember how hard it was to get him to let you back when you broke your ankle?” She pointed out and you let out a knowing hum. You had to get Erwin involved then, but you couldn’t blame him too much then. You had just lost Isabel and Furlan then. But this was different.
“I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t noticed yet, I didn’t think their meeting would go this long,” You laid back on the bench one leg bent resting on the bench the other dangling. The spring afternoon sun shining down on the both of you. It felt nice to get some fresh air.
“Mmm, I think you may have spoken too soon my dear,” You lifted your head to see her pointing towards HQ and there was a familiar black head of hair walking, very angrily, towards you. You could feel the annoyance radiating off him from where you rested. You snorted unaffected by his intimidating stature, laying your head back down waiting for him to get to you.
“Oi! Y/N! What the hell are you doing out here?” He scolded when he got close enough to where he knew you would be able to hear him. You smirked and Hange snorted tapping your foot.
“I’ll see you at dinner,” She said before leaving in the opposite way Levi was coming. You patiently waited for him to get to you hearing his feet hit the grass with each step before they stopped right next to your head his shadow blocking the warm sun from hitting you. You opened your eyes with an innocent smile as you looked up at him.
He had his arms crossed and was glaring down at you tapping his finger annoyedly on his arm.
“I thought we agreed you would rest another day?” He asked as you sat up. You let out a small snort as you stood up stretching your arms.
“I don’t remember this,” You couldn’t hide the smirk as you both started to head back inside. Levi scoffed with a shake of his head.
“Of course you don’t,” He was annoyed but you could see the small twitch of his lip that showed he wasn’t too annoyed with you. He opened the door holding it open for you to enter letting it close behind you as you both walked down the hall in comfortable silence.
When you got back to the room you went into your bedroom starting to take off your straps and you heard the scratch of a desk chair across the floor. Once you had the straps off and your boots you went into the bathroom starting the shower when you had an idea on how to cheer him up.
“I’m going to shower,” You shouted loud enough for him to hear you, you waited a few more moments a playful smile on your lips. “Since I’m feeling better, I thought you could join me?” You heard the chair move again instantly and quick footsteps heading towards you.
You yelped with some giggles as he slammed his lips to yours when he got to you, his fingers quickly working the buttons of your shirt as he pushed you back towards the shower. You smiled against his lips your fingers moving to his straps to help him out of them.
His straps fell to the ground the belts clinking against the floor as they hit. Then it was your shirt and his and soon you were both bare as he guided you into the shower. A soft moan leaving your lips as he kissed the spot just below your ear, a smirk on his lips.
Levi may be a pain whenever you were injured or sick, but it was only because he cared, it was his way of showing he loved you. Besides, you couldn’t complain about what always came after.
Dr. Spencer Reid x Reader
And the photographs know I’m a liar
They laugh as I burn her down
She wasn’t leaving until he opened the door. J.J. knocked again, this time a little louder than the first. She had given him a day to himself, but now she was worried. It had been less than 48 hours since Y/N died. Everyone was dealing with it differently. Prentiss and Morgan went to the shooting range, Hotch buried himself in paperwork, Penelope was running around trying to fix everything, and Rossi was being, well, Rossi.
Everyone thought it was a good idea to let Reid be alone for a while, but they didn’t know what J.J. knew. They didn’t know what Y/N had told her that day. Of course, everyone had their suspicions, but J.J, and maybe Penelope, were the only ones that knew that Spence just lost the woman he’d loved for at least the past year.
The door slowly opened just enough for him to look out. From the little sliver that she could see, he didn’t look well. His eyes were sunken and dark and it looked like he hadn’t changed clothes since the hospital. The sight of his despair nearly brought tears to her eyes.
“Hey J.J.”
“Spence.” She greeted, her voice quiet and empathetic. “Can I come in?”
“Uh, I guess. Sure.” He stepped aside and let her walk past him into his living room. It was strangely well put together. She expected things to be discarded on the floor, for the kitchen sink to be full with dishes. But the only thing that seemed out of place was a single chair facing the window. “Why did you come?”
“I just wanted to see how you were holding up.”
“Did Hotch tell you to come see me?”
“Spence-”
“Because I really don’t need a psych evaluation right now.” He sat down in the chair in front of the window. Honestly, it was where he had been for the hours before J.J. got there. He just sat, looking out like he was waiting for Y/N to come down the street.
“I came here as a friend, Spencer. Not as an agent.”
“Oh.” She watched as the previous outburst lost its effect on him and he slumped forward, leaning his head on the glass. It was like watching a wounded animal stop fighting. It broke her heart.
Spencer didn’t say anything else. When J.J. asked him a question, he responded with either a silent nod or a quiet mumble. Eventually, there was nothing else she could say.
“We’re all here, Spence.” She put a gentle hand on his shoulder. “If you need anything before the funeral…” The last word nearly caught in her throat. Funeral. J.J. kept a steady appearance, leaning over and kissing the top of his head. “Bye Spence.”
He didn’t say anything as the door closed behind her. He didn’t even look back. Spencer kept his gaze out the window and watched J.J. get in her car and drive away. He must have sat there for a few more hours because by the time he finally moved, it was dark out.
He forced himself to stand and walk back to his room so he could take a much needed shower. Seeing his still made bed made his stomach twist. His mind conjured the image of a quiet morning, none in particular, where he laid with her. He laid with Y/N in his arms as the sun peeked through the windows. Just as quickly as it had come, the vision left, returning the room to its original empty state.
Spencer moved through his apartment aimlessly, his body moving before his mind could catch up. His thoughts were far away, trapped in those woods with the constant sound of an arrow cracking through bone. It cracked through his chest, leaving only a painful ache. He stepped into the shower with his clothes still on.
-
This old house, she’s quite the keeper
Quite the keeper of you
He was there before anyone else, sitting in the dim light by himself for nearly an hour. When Hotch quietly trudged to his office, he stopped suddenly, seeing the form sitting at his desk.
“Reid?” He flipped on the main lights and looked warily at the young agent. While he didn’t show it, Hotch noticed Reid’s disheveled appearance and blank expression. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to do some paperwork,” Reid replied, keeping his eyes trained in front of him. Hotch set his briefcase down.
“I told the team to take a few days off.”
“You’re here.”
“I have to deal with…” He trailed off, dreading the report sitting on his desk. Reid nodded, still not entirely paying attention to his supervisor.
“Right.” He continued to slowly tap his pen against the surface of his desk. Hotch knew that the psych evals weren’t until after everyone came back, but Reid was worrying him. Grabbing his briefcase, he kept a close eye on him as he went to his office.
Spencer stared at the desk across from him.
“Come on, there has to be something that you don’t know.” You challenged, chewing absentmindedly on the cap of your pen. Normally he would remark on how many germs were on the average pen, but when you did it, he thought it was cute.
“Of course there are things I don’t know, I just don’t talk about them because I don’t know them well enough to talk about them.”
“I bet you can’t name every character in Star Wars.”
“Alphabetically or in order of appearance.” He smirked smugly.
He blinked and the memory was gone. Y/N was gone and the emptiness returned. Spencer stood up, wanting to find something that would conjure another image of her. He wandered aimlessly around the office, slowly weaving in between desks. He opened the drawers of her old desk, but they had already been emptied. Her parents must have already cleaned it out.
Right. Her parents were here. He’d almost forgotten. They were here for the…
Somehow, he found himself standing in the break room in front of the empty coffee maker. He made himself a pot, not really thinking about his motions as he put the grounds in the filter and poured the water. It wasn’t until he imagined her hand on his arm that he felt anything at all.
“What are you doing?” He asked, an amused smile playing at his lips.
“I’m dancing.” You twirled to the other side of him, your playful laugh filling the small room.
“There isn’t any music playing.”
“Who said you need music to dance, Spence?” You took his hands and spun into him, giggling relentlessly. “Come on, dance with me.”
“Are you crazy? We’re at work.” He tried to sound stern, but he just laughed instead.
“So? Nobody will see us.” You put a hand on his shoulder and moved his arm around your waist. You both swayed to the music in your mind, your hearts somehow playing the same song. For a moment, you forgot where you were. You forgot that there was another horrific case awaiting you in the conference room and all that existed was you and the man that held you.
“Hey Y/N.”
“Hmm?”
“I love you.” It seemed now that the two of you were swaying to the sounds of your heartbeats. You blinked up at him, surprised at first, but soon a bright smile spread across your face.
“I love you too.”
This vision faded slower than the last, Y/N’s face staying until the last possible moment. His arms ached from the emptiness, his feet rocking back and forth like he was dancing all on his own.
“Reid.” Hotch’s voice halted the music in his mind. His voice was grimmer, almost sadder than it was before. “Are you ready to go?”
“Go?” He read Hotch’s expression. “Oh. Right. That’s today.” Hotch nodded and stood aside so Reid could pass by.
“I’ll drive you home so you can change.”
-
If I go, I’m goin crazy
Let my darlin take me there
It was a perfectly nice day, making him even more sick to his stomach. The sun was out and clouds lazily drifted across the sky. He wished it would have rained. At least then, the world would look like he felt; colorless and dark.
Y/N’s parents both shared a few words and Penelope did the eulogy. Spencer was sure it was nice, but he couldn’t focus enough to really hear any of the words. Hotch kept a close eye on him, though he tried not to be obvious about it. Spencer felt like everyone was watching him, waiting for his numb exterior to break. He knew they meant well, but he’d appreciate it if they were a little more subtle about it.
Somehow, the ceremony felt both eternal and over too quickly. Before he had even moved to put his rose on the coffin, it seemed like everyone was leaving. Maybe it was just him; frozen in time until he could bring himself to step forward. It still felt like everyone was staring at him. How many people even knew about him and Y/N? Maybe everyone, at this point. They were profilers after all and he hadn’t been abundantly subtle on that last case.
That last case.
Suddenly the rose in his hand was an arrow, bloody and splintered at one end. It fell between his fingers and hit the grass as a flower again. A petal fell off and he held it to his lips. Was he going insane? Was this what it would be like from now on? Everything reminding him of that last moment with her? With the blood and the arrow and the screaming?
With a slow, shaky hand, he placed the rose on the coffin. Someone put their hand on top of his, but when he turned, there wasn’t anyone there and suddenly, he felt something… peaceful. Something that told him that all he would need to remember were the good things. The smiles. The laughter. The dances in the breakroom. Despite every logical impulse in his mind, every scientific fact he knew by memory, he knew. It was her. Y/N.
Finally, he started to cry. The numbness was gone and allowed for emotion to finally come to light. Sobs shook his body and nearly made his knees buckle, but he made himself stand. He ran his fingers over the gleaming surface of the coffin and cried.
“I love you. I’ll always love you.”
He must have stood there like that for at least an hour, if not several, but when he turned around, he found his team- his family- waiting there for him. And they walked away together, always to remember the member that they lost. A friend. A sister. A lover. And Spencer would never forget you, as long as he lived.
I will go if you ask me to
I will stay if you dare
wordless pt.4
Tumblr media
jeon jeongguk / reader genre: hitman (john wick au), sugar daddy au, angst, crack, fluff rating: mature words: 3.5k warnings: toxic relationships, non graphic sex a/n: u guys asked and i delivered...tag yourself i’m me saying dancer in the dark was coming first....i was wrong...this is also very sweet considering part 5 will not be :D enjoy while u can!
Sometimes, saying “I love you” is inappropriate, and given your circumstances, you think it might send Jeongguk over the edge if he hears them again.
Parts: One, Two, Three, Four, Five
Tumblr media
(31) Pulling a chair out for them to sit down at the table.
Jeongguk’s not a gentleman.
Everybody knows it, and he’s not ashamed of admitting it. Half of the time, he thinks that it’s what makes him unique, at least. If you (or anybody else, even though since you walked out on him that one time, he’s been seeing all the others less and less) were going to be with somebody, then you might as well just make it different. Spice it up a little bit.
“It will be nice.” Jeongguk, because he’s not a gentleman, is not really listening to you. He sits behind the steering wheel and tightens his hand against the wheel, the other is on the clutch.
“Are you listening to me?”
“No,” Jeongguk replies. He turns the corner, and the car slightly leans you to the right.
A sigh fills the car as he pauses as a set of traffic lights further down the street.
This red light drags forever, and Jeongguk sighs instead and looks at you pointedly, “What, then?”
It takes reluctance to pull your gaze away from the pigeons near the bins on the side of the road, but you do, and you look at Jeongguk. “I just think it will be really nice to grab dinner together.”
“We do that all the time,” Jeongguk says.
“Yeah, but I don’t mean us, or just us,” you affirm, “I mean, like all of us. Family, I guess.”
Jeongguk bristles. “Family? We don’t have any family, baby.”
“We do,” you moan. “I mean. Not family-family, but family. The kind of family we get to choose. Taehyung, and Eunji and whoever.”
Jeongguk nods sarcastically, “Oh. Wrong F word, Y/N, those people are called friends.”
“Oh, whatever then,” you huff, turning back towards the window. “Forget I said anything, Jeongguk.”
Jeongguk wants to forget, but he doesn’t. Something about that line, about the way that it stuck with him: The kind of family we get to choose. He thought about it all night, groaned, and then swore and called Taehyung. Alright motherfucker, we’re going to dinner with Y/N so you better shut the fuck up, get a suit, and meet us at that fancy Gangnam restaurant.
So, it’s a Friday evening, and it feels like a Disney Channel crossover episode. Eunji definitely feels out of place in this restaurant, and Jeongguk acts uncomfortable about the way Taehyung sits opposite you, gauging your every move and word with overacted enthusiasm. Actually, all Jeongguk is thinking about is the moment that they got here.
“Here, honey, let me get that for you,” had appeared to be Taehyung’s favourite sentence to say to you; he used it when he opened the door for you, and again with the chair to the table. Jeongguk sat seething, almost red like a ruby. Eunji sips nervously from her glass as Taehyung laughs again at something you said.
Dinner went great, he would have to admit that.
“Oh, we booked the patio for desserts,” Taehyung says. One of Jeongguk’s other friends, Seokjin (who honestly came to observe rather than to fill in for the surprising lack of family at this family dinner) looks left and right to each person on the table and follows the crowd as they leave for the patio once the main courses are done.
Taehyung once again reaches for the door and lets you walk outside. As Jeongguk passes Taehyung at the door, he glares at Taehyung with eyes that could murder. Taehyung doesn’t waver but he does get the hint, even more so as you stroll towards the table. Before Taehyung can even move towards the table, Jeongguk curves in front and puts his hand on the back of your chair.
“Here you go, baby, let me sit next to you,” Jeongguk says, dragging it out for you to sit. You watch him with one raised eyebrow but say nothing. Taehyung says nothing for a few minutes but decides to get right back to it as the desserts begin. It pisses off Jeongguk to the point where his hand leaves fingerprints in your thigh, but you can’t find it in you to be mad about it.
(32) Wrapping a blanket around them when they are sitting on the couch and watching a show.
“You gotta stop letting yourself in here, it scares the shit out of me.”
“I own this dump.”
You gape over your shoulder, “Fucker, you own this dump that you call a dump but you gave me this dump, it’s my dump, don’t call it a dump.”
“Say dump one more time,” Jeongguk warns, shrugging off his jacket and ruffling his hair. It’s wet thanks to the torrential rain outside. His socks squelch across the floor because he left his slippers back at his place, and he’s not here often enough to have his own pair at your apartment.
The apartment is toasty and warm, the heating on high. Except the living room is chilly and dark, dark blue almost.
“What are you watching?”
Jeongguk moves towards your bedroom but can still hear you as he moves.
“Just this show I found,” you reply, watching the screen. “Dead To Me.”
“Never heard of it,” he yawns, and emerges from the room. He’s holding a heavy blanket in his arms, moving to the living room to sit next to you. He plops next to you and glances at the screen, wrapping the blanket around your shoulders, over your head like a cocoon.
You laugh softly, shifting it off your head and leaning up against him. “It’s American. It’s got Velma in it.”
“Linda Cardellini?” Jeongguk asks, settling back. “She’s hot as fuck.”
“I know, that’s why I thought I’d watch it, I love her,” you say.
Jeongguk wraps an arm around your shoulder and smushes closer towards you.
“Good day?” you ask quietly.
He takes a few seconds, like he’s truly trying to think about whether he wants to answer or not.
“Okay,” he admits. “Don’t care, it’s over, I’m here, don’t wanna think about work.”
You don’t push him to talk, and instead, let him sit next to you. He likes the darkness because there’s no way you can see his discomfort, his pain, the blood under his fingernails.
(33) Throwing away their piles of tissues when they have a cold.
Jeongguk travels for work a lot, and it’s no secret to anybody he knows. It was midday when he got a call, just a few words over the phone, and then he was moving out of the shower and into the bedroom to get ready.
He had told you to stay, stay until he got back. Unfinished business, he said, that would need dealing with when he got home. So you did, you stayed and he left, and that was that.
Jeongguk sighs and shuts the car door. Until next time, he thinks to himself as he watches the car pull away. Frowning, he straightens his blazer and walks up the steps to the complex he lives at and enters. When he gets to his apartment, he kicks his shoes off right away and as he steps inside, he notices that the apartment is unusually silent.
Normally at his home, his big mansion that he loves up in the hills, there’s some sort of noise. Maybe it’s the sound of the TV on in the kitchen, or the bubbles in the hot tub, or the sound of Elio prowling around the bedroom. This apartment is in central Seoul, closer to work and closer to school. He hates how silent it is, how empty it feels.
“Y/N?”
There is no instant reply. He moves across the apartment, searching silently.
“Babe, you here?”
Worry bubbles in his stomach and he moves in search of you. After searching everywhere, Jeongguk scoffs like it’s a sick joke that you’re not here, until he hears a noise, a croak and a cough from the spare bedroom.
“Y/N?” calls Jeongguk. He moves to the door and twists the handle, and is a few shuffles inside when a grottal, gross noise emerges from the darkness.
“What?” he asks.
“I said don’t come in here,” you croak out in reply, because it’s you, and who else would it be in his apartment?
Jeongguk enters and reaches for the light, pausing when you grunt in his direction. He can see you in the dim light of the spare bedroom, the sun outside the curtains, and he suppresses a smile.
“What happened? I said we had unfinished business.”
“I know,” you rasp. “But one of the kids in my class came to the lab with a sore throat, I thought I’d be fine. But, ta-da.” He can see in the light that there’s a plethora of tissues around your body, like a barrier. So many, snotty and probably damp and scrunched into balls. “Guess he had a cold.”
He grimaces, shuffling into the bedroom despite you telling him otherwise. It’s unsurprisingly stuffy in the room, a given since the room is closed off from the sunlight that bleeds behind the curtains. Like you requested, he doesn’t turn on the lights, keeping you safe in the darkness.
“Shitty kids,” Jeongguk grunts. Finding a lack of interest in the germs that breed in the tissues scrunched into balls, he moves them from the covers and tosses them towards the small bin next to the bedside cabinet. You sniffle, snotty and stuffed, and peer from over the duvet at him.
Jeongguk looks tired, as he always does when he gets back from work. He sports a brand new cut on his lip, one that will probably scar when it’s done showing crimson. There is blood on his shirt, and you know that it’s probably not his. That doesn’t make you feel better.
“How long you had it?” Jeongguk asks.
“Two or three days,” you estimate. He’s been gone almost a week, the seventh day being tomorrow. “Should go soon, don’t worry.”
He smiles, “Not worried. Did you get medicine, or something?”
You sniff once, the air hot in your nostrils. “Nope. I haven’t managed to leave since I came down with it. I only went to the door to collect soup and then I went back to bed in here.” Another sniff and Jeongguk’s eyebrows raise with amusement, “Didn’t want to infect your bedroom, so I came here instead. Hope that’s okay.”
“Sure, it’s okay,” he replies. “I’ll find something for you, I’ve got a bunch of shit that might help.”
“Really?”
Jeongguk nods, “Yeah. Stay put, buttercup, B-R-B.”
(34) Mending an item of their clothing that was ripped.
“Who even takes the subway anymore?”
In reply, Jeongguk gets an appalled scoff. “I’m sorry, not all of us are rich enough to have fucking chauffeurs taking us places.”
“What’re you talking about, you’re rich,” Jeongguk says, his voice kind of muffled due to the sewing needle between his teeth. He sits on the edge of his sofa, your skirt spread over his lap like a napkin at dinner. Down the leg, the seam is torn, showing what could have been an erotic amount of leg. Unfortunately, he’d only got a glimpse of your skin when you shuffled into his home.
As the CEO of ripping his clothes, Jeongguk became familiar with sewing over the years, figuring it was less expensive to sew than it was to replace. So, of course, when your skirt got torn on the subway home, Jeongguk tested his principles and dug out the sewing needle.
“No thanks to you,” you sigh. “You didn’t need to, by the way.”
“Need to what, pay you?” Jeongguk laughs, sewing the seam. “Come on, Y/N, it’s overdue.”
“True, but I don’t really need your money that much anymore.”
“Funny, since you needed it when you didn’t have it,” he sighs dramatically. “Anyway, it’s barely a dent out of my bank account, I wanna spoil you. You’re welcome.”
You frown, shuffling to the couch and throwing yourself over the back so that your head is by his legs. Jeongguk spares you a glance from the skirt and smiles, returning back to the work.
“Thanks,” you mumble. Nothing is said, but he appreciates it, even if he did it out of guilt.
(35) Running out in the middle of the night to get a food item they’re craving.
“I think I’m pregnant.”
“What the fuck?”
Jeongguk shoots up from bed into a sitting position, his eyes blown wide as he stares at you. Whenever Jeongguk invites you to stay at his apartment, he always keeps a light on in the evening. His apartment is in a somewhat busier area compared to his house, which is stationed in a private neighbourhood only touched by the wealthiest of the wealthy. His apartment was supposed to be for ease, for if he had to do dirty work in the city and didn’t want to tie his name to a hotel. It wasn’t often that you stayed the night here.
In the light of the dim lamp on your side of the bed, Jeongguk can make out your face. You’re still lying down, staring up at the ceiling. After he stares long enough, you look over at him.
“Why the fuck would you say that,” he breathes, like it’s an insult.
“Wow, would it really be so bad?” you ask, curious now.
He blinks like an owl. “Obviously, dipshit.”
Sigh. “And here I was thinking it would be like the movies and you’d love me.”
“Even if I loved you, do you think I wanna have kids?” Jeongguk questions rhetorically, because he’s actually already talked to you about this. Jeongguk never wants to have children. His life is constantly on the line. There is no way he’d bring a child into the world, just for them to either be used as bait, or grow up in a world without their father. He knows how that feels.
“Fair,” you reply. “Still.”
Jeongguk shudders, it’s cold in here. “Wait, are you for real?” He shifts, the covers make a disruptive noise in the night, “what makes you think that you’re...you know…”
“I keep getting weird cravings,” you explain, like it’s the craziest science that he won’t understand. As soon as you say it, he feels almost instantly better. It’s not like cravings are the most reliable symptom of a pregnancy. Besides, you’re on the pill, and when you’re not, he’s safe. He’s not an idiot, he’s not about to accidentally ruin both of your lives with a few squirts.
“Like what?”
You shrug, “Really craving the Fairway to Heaven ice-cream.”
Jeongguk scoffs. Actually, it’s almost a tch under his breath. “Yeah, of course, you’re craving the most expensive icecream. Predictable. Cute, almost.” He pats your leg over the covers, “We all know Phish Food’s the better flavour, by the way.”
“Tell that to the cravings, sir,” you reply. You frown, then, “I’ll pick some up tomorrow. Maybe I’ll dream the cravings away…”
“As if,” Jeongguk barks, knowing you better. If he knows you at all (which he confidently does), you’ll press about this for the rest of the night until you fall asleep bored of trying. So, Jeongguk enjoys the last few seconds inside a warm bed before climbing out, switching on the light so it burns your eyes as the room fills with it.
“Ouch, too bright!”
“Pussy,” he smirks. “Bro, get your coat, we’re going out.”
“Oh yeah, at midnight?” you ask sarcastically, sitting up. “Where’re we going?”
“Ice cream,” he replies, like it’s obvious. To him it is. “That store down the road sells it and it closes at 2, so get your big coat and let’s get moving!”
“Are we seriously going to get ice cream at midnight?” you laugh, doing as he says.
“We both know you’re not gonna shut up about it if we don’t.”
Jeongguk grabs his own coat and zips it up. Nobody’s gonna care that he’s wearing PJ’s, and even if you’re sleepy and grumpy on the way there, it’s better than keeping you at the apartment alone. He’d have to be crazy to leave you here than he is going out for ice cream at midnight.
(36) Helping brush their hair after a shower.
You’re the best he’s had, really.
Jeongguk knows this, because he’s not stupid or blind or oblivious. Compared to the other girls he’s had, and the ones he left not too long ago, he knows how lucky he is to have someone like you. Someone who doesn’t just want him for the sex and the money. Although scary, it’s reassuring.
Jeongguk comes out from the kitchen to the bedroom where you’re sitting, hunched over a laptop watching a YouTube video that bores you to sleep. Your hair is damp and matted, left to dry as you watch. Fourty minutes into an hour video. Jeongguk narrows his eyebrows, wondering if he’d ever have the patience to watch something like that. Probably not. He barely has the patience when he works, and he has a job that demands it 99% of the time. When he can be hasty he is, but when his job is to kill and protect, patience is a must.
As you watch, Jeongguk moves to sit behind you and he sets his chin on your shoulder, boredly looking at the screen. Your eyes are glossed over, possibly not even watching at all. Regardless, he stays there and slowly rakes his fingers through your hair, straightening out the curls that are close to knots.
He still blames the video for you falling asleep, although it’s probably his fingers. He won’t admit it.
(37) Making sure to be quiet while they’re taking a nap.
It’s not just that. Jeongguk enjoys being gentle, but only when nobody can see him doing it. When you fall asleep, slouched over like a zombie, he smiles and gently closes the screen of your laptop. Whatever garbage your Uni have you watching can be watched tomorrow.
Until then, you must sleep. He moves the laptop away to the cabinet across the room and comes back, collecting you in his arms and moving you into the bed. Once the covers are draped across your body, he takes extra care to be quiet leaving the room and shutting the door. There’s some food leftover in the kitchen from dinner that he’ll eat before joining you, and you don’t wake up, not even when the bed dips as he climbs into it.
(38) Letting them warm their cold hands under your shirt.
Despite his work often demanding him to be around people, Jeongguk isn’t really a big fan of crowds. If he can get out of going out in public, he will jump at the opportunity. He just can’t see why you’re so miffed about not being with the crowds of people on the Hangang Bridge waiting for the fireworks- he’s got a balcony that looks out over the city and the river, so what’s the big deal?
“It’s all about the vibe,” you say with a slight sigh. Your arms are draped over the balcony banister, legs slowly vibrating in the bitter winter air. “As a broody killing machine, I wouldn’t expect you to understand.”
“That stings,” Jeongguk replies, closing the door behind him as he wanders back towards you with a blanket. His eyes glaze over your face as he arrives and Jeongguk rolls his eyes, “Hold your face that way and it’ll stick.”
“Heard it all before from my Mom,” you reply boredly. A quiet thanks is spoken as you take the blanket shield and snuggle closer to his chest, staring expectantly at the black sky. “What time will they start?”
Jeongguk presses his cheek to your hair. “Considering three minutes ago it was only ten to midnight, I can safely assure you that it is not time yet.”
“I’m bored.”
“Why are you so hard to please today?” Jeongguk groans. He wriggles around, “And don’t try me with that ‘I think I’m pregnant’ bullshit. Spare me the moody bitch performance for today, please?”
You pug to yourself. “Sorry. Sorry, you’re right. And I shouldn’t be so...I don’t know. I’m sorry. Thank you for tonight.”
Jeongguk shakes his head slightly. He may never understand women.
“You really that mad over the bridge?” he asks quietly, his mouth against your head. It’s hot, and you lean back towards his minimal body warmth. “I’m sorry I didn’t pass your vibe check for tonight, but I thought it might be romantic or something for us to be up here.”
You almost laugh. “It is romantic. You’re right.”
Jeongguk brushes it off. Lately something has shifted, a comfort in the air that grants you permission to be in his life as someone more important than a ‘sugar baby’. Dare he say it, but Jeongguk actually considers you a friend. Now, you’re at the point where neither of you give much of a shit about the sugar clause you wrote yourselves into quite some time ago. An unspoken thing hangs there like Christmas mistletoe, seen but prayed away.
Distant laughter and a bang grows near the direction of Hangang bridge, and Jeongguk feels you perk in his arms. As a small warmth bursts across his chest, Jeongguk hisses in the cold and stuffs his hands up your shirt, where they curve around your body to cheekily hold both of your boobs. You jump, because his hands are freezing.
“You’re cold!” you whine. “What are you doing?”
Jeongguk shrugs, “My hands are freezing. I’m keeping them warm.”
You briefly glance down at his knuckles outlined by your jumper. “Oh yeah, because I’m sure that’s the reason why you’re literally groping my tits right now.”
“They feel warmer already,” he continues.
(39) Giving them your dessert when you eat out because it’s their favourite.
On the rare occasion that guilt consumes Jeon Jeongguk, he allows his guilt to control his feet. Usually, they end up on a pathway to the bedroom, or in the car where he drives you somewhere nice, or perhaps he picks you up from school instead of cruelly leaving you to take the subway. Now that things have shifted slightly in your dynamic, Jeongguk isn’t sure what flies as romantic anymore. He doesn’t want to leave you with the wrong impression. You’ve had the talk together, the one that touched upon what the future looked like and how quite definitely it looked as though you wouldn’t be with each other, but surely, dinner overlooking the sea in Busan isn’t too fancy or romantic, right?
“Here is your patbingsu.” The waiter circles around the table and gently lays a dish in front of you. Jeongguk carefully watches over his glass of wine as the waiter also announces his own dessert, the exact same. His eyes move down to the display set before him.
He’s never really been keen on dessert, but Jeongguk is the type of person who doesn’t enjoy the idea of one person eating when the other isn’t. So he had just ordered the same thing as you had, nice and simple, without giving it much thought.
“I love this,” you sigh happily, fiddling the metal spoon in your hand and peering up at him, “This is sick. Thank you.”
“I didn’t make it,” he replies.
You roll your eyes, spooning out some of the dessert, “you know what I mean.”
Something in the beach-fronted restaurant shifts as the sun sinks deeper into the ocean, and Jeongguk twirls his spoon anxiously whilst observing the patbingsu. He’s never been a huge fan of bingsu in general, and he looks with slight distaste at the green blob on top of what looks like cornflakes. He doesn’t get Korean desserts. Why can’t Korea be satisfied with an ice-cream sundae?
He dips his spoon into the dessert, taking a polite amount and very quickly taking a bite. For around twenty seconds, he thinks it’s okay, but the aftertaste makes his whole body shudder. Fucking hell, he really hates desserts.
After a few minutes, you finally move your attention away from the scraped clean dessert dish and take a glance over at Jeongguk, who is already watching you with a lack of interest for his own dessert.
“Is everything okay?” you ask, subtly wiping around your mouth just in case. You take in the sight of his unfinished treat, “not hungry?”
Jeongguk shrugs awkwardly, “I don’t really like bingsu.”
“Then why’d you order?” you question quietly.
“I panicked,” he replies, “you ordered it and I don’t like desserts but I didn’t want you to be eating alone.”
You pause, eyebrows quirked: “I don’t mind.”
He sighs. Of course. “Well…” He twirls the dessert dish and pushes it in your direction, “Since it’s your favourite, or whatever, you can have it.”
Your eyes light up, “Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Cool,” you squeal, happily taking it from him. “Thank you~”
Jeongguk rolls his eyes playfully and sits back in his chair. Whatever he didn’t eat from the dessert he instead eats up in the sight of you.
(40) Making a goofy face until they notice and laugh.
You don’t quite know how you ended up at Jeongguk’s work, but here you are. You could probably trace it back to Taehyung swinging by to get you from school since Jeongguk felt bad he couldn’t, and to be honest, you had been confused when Taehyung drove past the turning to your apartment and kept going further into the city.
Jeongguk’s workplace is pretty big, but still significantly hidden inconspicuously to avoid attention. As you slowly wander around the hallways, you begin to daydream about where Jeongguk’s office may be, what he might be doing and what he might think if he sees you.
Quietly passing through what appears to be a recreation room, filled with tired faces who blink curiously as you brush by, you finally step out into a web of hallways that connect to small rooms walled in glass. Each is empty, besides one at the very end that bustles with tense conversation, and you’re drawn to the sound of Jeongguk’s voice as it carries through the silent hallways.
You push forward, stopping not too close to the doorway so that if somebody who isn’t him happens to see you, you can make a hasty escape.
The room is filled with strange faces, strange men in tight suits and briefcases next to their feet. A man stands up beside Jeongguk at the head of the table, his hands animated as he presses on about something you’re not well read on. Hell if you know a single thing about gun models and firing ranges. You can just about tell apart Fortnite weapons and that’s only because they’ve got colours.
Jeongguk, however, is a sight that captures your gaze. For a while, he sits with his back turned to the man standing, his eyes observing each individual around the table, of who squirm under his watch. He eventually looks back at the man, his jawline sharp and his hair styled so that it only slightly falls into his eyebrows. God damn it, he looks sexy as hell; his shirt is black, cuffed, unbuttoned at the top revealing his skinny collarbones. He’s probably wearing the tight trousers too, the ones that make his ass look good.
A thought strikes you: how would he feel if he saw you outside? While it shouldn’t, the thought fills you with adrenaline. The idea of not him but somebody else seeing you, a girl dressed in white jeans and a red shirt, your coat discarded somewhere on an office chair. Would he be mad? Would he be turned on?
Would you die?
Deciding that the worse case scenario only involved you being yelled at, you decide to dip your toes into the water and tease the sharks; you wonder how long you can hold this silly face for until he finally notices you out there.
It seems like a long shot, and you’re quite close to giving up when finally Jeongguk returns his attention to the table. Heads begin to move in conversation, and Jeongguk’s gaze passes from gentleman to gentleman until they pause abruptly, locking onto you behind the glass. For a moment, he does nothing besides stare. Perhaps he doesn’t care. Then, his eyes widen, like he’s confused and alarmed and slightly impressed. Before his disturbed posture is noticed, you laugh to yourself and run away, back in the direction you tiptoed through.
(Later, Jeongguk finds you in Taehyung’s office sitting on an uncomfortable and torn armchair, a Rubix cube moving back and forwards in your hands. You’re not matching any colours. It’s going nowhere. He smiles.
“Field trip?” he questions, making your head snap up suddenly. He slides next to you on the free chair, “I’ll skin that prick alive, you know you’re not supposed to be here.”
“I know, but I’m here against my will!” you promise, putting the cube down. “I really wanted to go home. Dead To Me episodes don’t watch themselves, you know.”
“Yeah, I know,” he sighs. “I gotta go to a meeting again, then I’ll drive us home, okay?”
You nod. “I’m sorry I distracted you, by the way. I realise now I’m actually very lucky that it was you who saw me and nobody else.”
Jeongguk laughs, kissing your forehead as he rises to leave. “Yeah, well, I’m the most dangerous guy in there, so consider yourself very lucky.”)
Fevers Don’t Exist
TW: Fever ? (I’m not sure what counts for triggers so pls lmk if I miss anything)
Prompt: hi!! could u do one maybe where like, the reader is an actress on supernatural and she plays like their younger sister on the show or something and she gets sick at a con or something? Thanks !!
NOTE: Hey guys, I’m alive!!!! I know I have a lot of Spencer prompts atm, but it’s really hard to write them when I’m not like, hyper focused on Criminal Minds. I am going to try though! So sorry I’ve left so many of you in the wind, I am a very inconsistent person, my bad. But here’s this! It’s REALLY bad because I’m terrible at being realistic but like idk it’s something.
I really don’t even know what to put for tags on this.
()()()()()()
Ah, September. You knew what came along every September, and looked forward to it for the first eight months of every year. Secaucus, New Jersey. You loved every con you went to, truly. Everyone was so nice, you love staying in hotels, panels are such a great time, the whole thing. It's a great experience outside of the set to get connected with fans. And, they loved you almost as much as you loved them. You were typically closer in age, since you were still just a teenager. You also started out as a fan of the show before somehow snatching a role, so you really were with them at one point. Everything that excites them excited you just as much. And, you loved making friends with them. You weren't allowed to be reckless with your phone number, so you made a snapchat that you shared exclusively with con goers, whom you made swear to secrecy. It was like a club, and you just enjoyed genuinely talking to everyone. But, when you woke up that first morning, you knew it was going to be a long day. Your body ached, and you were still pretty exhausted. You had a fever, but didn't really know if it was a fever because you were still young, and God forbid you ever decided to recognize the signs of you being sick. It was almost like a form of denial, not knowing. You were sweating, but freezing, and your throat felt particularly dry. Your headache rested underneath your eyes for the most part, to which you just blamed on being tired. Your stomach didn't hurt, but you definitely weren't hungry. Even though you hadn't felt exactly 100% the past days before, and you obviously weren't feeling right now, you just deduced that it was all because you were tired, and had a late flight in. As a responsible person does, of course. You didn't even bother taking any medicine for it, because hey, you obviously weren't sick, you'd feel better in a bit, and you didn't have any, so why waste the time, right?
You groggily got dressed and met up with "the boys" (even though they were all older than you) for the free breakfast downstairs, in a separate room, since fans did happen to stay in the same hotel. You grabbed some Cheerios, only to conspicuously throw them away after.
"You good, Y/N?" Jared asked out loud, gaining the attention of Jensen, Misha, and Alex. You could feel their eyes burning through your skin. Or, maybe that was the fever. It had to be their eyes, you convinced yourself, you didn't have a fever. You were fine.
"Yeah, why?" you asked, faking the perk in your voice and confused eyes. Your eyes felt really heavy, you noticed.
"You just... You look exhausted. And pale." he said, "And you threw away that cereal without eating any of it."
You looked down at yourself as an effect for what you were about to say, "Wow, well that's one way to make me self-conscious. I thought I looked kind of poppin'." you laughed slightly, trying to play it off.
"W-wait, no that's- that's not what I meant! You look fine, I just-" he was embarrassed. You and the others chuckled.
"I'm kidding. I'm all good, just went to bed late, y'know?" you smiled. It was hard to try and mask the rasp in your voice, and doing so made you feel the need to cough, so you downed some water until it dialed down a bit. He nodded. In your mind, you blessed your acting skills, thinking you got away with it. What you didn't know was that Misha, Jensen, and Jared, as fathers do, knew every trick in the book, and each noted to keep an eye on you. Not to mention, they'd been acting far longer than you had, and could just tell when one switches into a character. They all figured that if you weren't sick now, you would be in days to come, and exchanged glances with each other, while Alex innocently continued to chew on his toast.
"Well, if you're tired, I don't think you have a panel or anything for another hour or something, maybe you could catch up on some sleep then." Jared suggested. You shrugged.
"Nah," you said, "I've got photo-ops in like, twenty minutes. I should actually probably get going. I'll catch up later!"
You left with a wave, and disappeared into the hotel somewhere. You stopped in your room, allowing yourself finally to set free the coughs living in the back of your throat. You blamed it on your throat being dry since you didn't drink enough water. Not on germs. So, you grabbed two water bottles from the small fridge in your room, and left, making your way towards the convention center.
  You felt slightly better during photo-ops, which just confirmed in your mind that it was impossible that you were sick right now. You smiled and talked to everyone. There was one girl, who introduced herself as Meredith, who stuck out in your mind. She gave you this super cool hand painted keychain, which you very excitedly put on your keys instantly.
"Dude, I've been looking for a cool keychain. Not just one of those janky ones you find at like 7-11, like a cool one. This is so exciting." you smiled genuinely. You had just recently bought yourself a car, and thought that your keys looked a little lonely, and searched for hours on Etsy for something to spice it up a bit. A weird obsession, thinking about it now.
She laughed, "I'm glad you like it!"
"Hell, yeah! Now, are there any poses you wanna do? Or do you just want to hit that casual look? I could make it look like I'm meeting you." you stupidly rambled. One of your traits that was so widely known was how funny and awkward (in a good way) that you were. It took you a long time to get to that point, though, because you were always anxious about meeting others. You still are every now and then, but it's different here.
"I was just hoping to get a hug." she said, "If that's okay with you."
"Yeah, that's cool!" you wrapped your arms around each other and shot the camera a grin. The girl looked a bit confused.
"Hey," she said, quietly, "are you like, okay? You feel really hot."
Nervously, you replied, "Oh, no, yeah totally fine. I'm just wearing two layers, and it's getting spicy in here."
"Yeah," she answered, "don't push yourself, okay?"
"I won't, thank you. It was really nice meeting you!"
"You, too! Thanks!" she waved goodbye and you moved on to the last few people in line. She was right, though. You realized that you felt worse than you did when you walked in. You thought it had gone away for a while, but now it was just amplified. You noticed you were cold again, but that you were sweating as well. It must've just been the temperature in the room. These conventions aren't always able to keep a steady temp in the entire building, right?
This day, you didn't have much to do. Most of your events were on the other days to come. You had one panel in a few hours, and then a panel with Jared, Jensen, and Misha a few hours after that, and then bam, the day was over. You just had to get through those two events. Just two.
Two, events. And both were an hour. So, two hours out of the day. Rookie work. Yet, as your panel approached, the headache had expanded from under your eyes to anywhere that there was space to hurt, your throat ached and so did your lungs from how much you were going off somewhere to cough in privacy, your body felt heavy, you couldn't tell if you were hot or cold at this point it was some weird combination of both, your stomach hurt just slightly, the world was moving around you a bit more than it usually would, and the fever you "didn't" have had climbed a degree, probably two. And, at some point during the day, you got pretty congested. You felt like you could just fall asleep at any moment. Jared and Jensen happened to be walking by where you had been waiting by yourself, away from any congoers or employees, and noticed that even though you were leaning against a wall, you somehow were still swaying.
"Y/N?" Jensen called out, worried. You heard him, you knew you were supposed to respond, but didn't know how. Maybe you did have a fever, and maybe you sort of let it out of control. It was like you were comprehending them, but not at the same time. You heard everything, but it just swept right through your feverish mind. The walked in front of you and examined you within seconds. You felt Jared's cold, really abnormally large man hand sweep your hair back and land on your forehead.
"J, she's burning up." you felt another hand on your face. You, quite exhaustedly, swatted it away. They couldn't figure out how it'd gotten so bad so quickly. You were sick this morning, but not to this degree. They knew then that you had just shrugged it off all day, and your teenage fever brain probably didn't even think to take any kind of medicine or anything for it, even if you were trying to hide it.
"I'm good. Just tired. Fevers don’t exist." you finally mumbled, taking a few deep breathes, which you hadn't really been able to do in a bit without being rudely interrupted by a bone-shaking cough. It felt nice, almost. The boys sighed at you and shook their heads.
"Y/N, you should go back to your room and get some rest. We can bring you some stuff that'll help." Jared suggested. You shook your head and opened your eyes, which somehow felt even heavier.
"Nah," you said to them, "I've got a panel, I think, in like, I ‘dunno, some minutes or something. Something I-" you pushed yourself off the wall to try and make your way somewhere, but stumbled a step or two, which result in Jensen and Jared instinctively to grab you in order to keep you steady.
"Like hell we're letting you go to that, Y/N, you can't even form a sentence, or stand for that matter. You're out of your mind. We're going to bring you back now, we'll take care of your panel thing." Jensen stated pretty sternly. You were about to fight back, and they could see it, but you coughed a few times, and they could almost feel it in their own chests. You just nodded in defeat.
"Yeah, maybe I could just like, sleep, for an hour or two." you whispered, tiredly. The two were still holding you steady, and could see you already falling asleep before even going anywhere.
"Or six, by the looks of it." Jared joked lightly.
"Poor kid." Jensen said to Jared as the were walking out of your room. They helped you get there, and you were gone before you even saw the bed, "Why do they always have to pretend like they aren't sick? Look where it gets them."
"Don't know, man. You can't talk, though. You literally tell people you are immune to illness." Jared laughed quietly, shutting you door.
"Well I am. I am the perfect example of health. I don't get sick."
"Yeah," Jared rolled his eyes, "Right. Watch you catch what Y/N has. You practically carried her all the way here. There's no way you're escaping it." Walking towards the center, the back way of course, Jensen scoffed, "Please, germs take one look at me and know not to mess this up. And, by the logic, that means you're already infected, too. So, tell me, princess, what sort of soup do you want spoon-fed?"
Again, Jared rolled his eyes, and the two laughed. They weren't making fun of you, they were making fun of each other, and knew that you would've wanted in on that action.
"Y/N probably would've destroyed us if she heard that. Something along the longs of 'You want me to tuck you in? Carry you bridal style?'" Jared pitched his voice a tone higher for it. Again, the two men laughed.
They made their way backstage of what's supposed yo be your panel, and informed the crew about what was going on. They were just going to fill in for you, probably tell a few embarrassing stories.
When they made their way through the curtain, the crowd shouted. They were obviously excited to see the two leads, but also were obviously confused. "Alright, you're probably confused." Jensen stated the obvious, "Because obviously, we look nothing like Y/N, and thank God she does not look like us." The crowd laughed.
"Anyway, Y/N can't make it today. She's really sick-" the crowd cut Jared off with a unison "awe." People yelled out that they hoped she felt better, tell her to take care of herself, and so on.
"Yeah, poor kid looked like she was just going to fall asleep right where she was standing. She literally tried to come anyway, like, kid, you're making no sense. Y/N couldn't really fight against us, though, so she's sleeping now." Jensen explained, "So we came here to chat in her stead, but just know she really was planning on coming. That kid loves you guys." and again, the "awe" rolled through the crowd.
"If she wasn't sick, she could totally kick both your-" the last word was cut off, but was implied anyway, someone screamed from the crowd, which resulted in laughter.
"Yeah, probably. Even if we were stronger than her," sarcastically, of course, "she'd still beat us. Kid's too fast, and I'm too old." Jared laughed.
In the last ten minutes of the panel, Jared decided to give you call. Not only to check in on you, but so you could at least say hi to your crowd. When you heard the phone ring, you groggily opened your eyes and aimlessly reached for it.
"Hello?" you answered. Jared almost frowned at how sick you sounded, even with just one word.
"Y/N?" Jensen stepped in, "It's Jensen."
"Unfortunate." you sighed exhaustedly. It was joke, a really tired one, but still enough to make the crowd laugh.
"We're here at your panel, we thought you might want to say hi." Jared said loudly, holding the speaker of his phone to the microphone.
"Panel?" you asked. Panel? What panel? Your delirious mind was clearly confused, "Who's that?"
"Y/N, the con. The convention panel?" Jensen actually sounded worried. They probably should've thought to give you some sort of medicine to do something about the fever you had before they'd left.
"Oh," you closed your eyes again, almost falling asleep, before remembering finally what it was they meant, and after a moment, "Oh! Crap, the panel thing, I'm late."
"No, Y/N, stay there, we've got it covered remember? You can't come. You can say hi to them, though." Jensen interjected quickly.
"Okay, hi guys." you just followed as told.
The crowd responded with a series of hello's.
"'M really sorry. I hope they aren't boring you." the two men could practically hear you closing your eyes. The crowd responded in inaudible chatter. Jensen and Jared walked from the mic for a second.
"Sorry if we woke you, kid." Jared apologized, having just realized they probably could've left you alone, "W also just wanted to check in. See how you're doing."
"How are you feeling?" Jensen asked, but got a mumbled word in response, "Alright, well, just go back to sleep, we'll be up there soon."
Jared hung up the phone, and the two began to answer the last few questions and close up. They waved their goodbyes to the crowd, and started heading back your way.
"Jensen, you got any over the counters with you? Thermometers or anything? All I've got is Advil, and I don't even know what's really bothering her yet other than that cough and being tired."
"Yup. Danneel always makes me carry literally an entire medicine cabinet, just for these moments. I'll go get 'em and meet you there. It'd probably do her some good to eat something, too. I don't know if she's got like, a stomach virus thing going on, though." Jensen answered.
"I'll see what she'll say and let you know."
The two parted ways, and Jared made his way to you. Even though he'd only talked to you just a few minutes before, you were dead to the world by the time he opened the door. The room was boiling, and Jared looked over to the thermostat to see that you'd at some point put it on to 90 degrees.
"Jesus, Y/N, I know you've got a fever, but damn." he said, more so to himself than to you. He looked over at you after turning it down to see you curled beneath what looked like any blanket you could find. He came over and started removing the blankets slowly, and shook you gently to wake you up.
"Y/N, wake up for a minute, it's Jared."
"'Mm." was all you said, until you realized your layers of warmth had been moved, "What're doing? It's cold."
"Y/N, you're dripping in sweat. It's the fever making you cold."
"I don't have a fever." you retorted, "I'm good. Just tired."
"Kid, you've been tired the whole day. You've been sleeping this whole time." he tried rationalizing.
"I have?" you questioned, closing you eyes again. Jared put his hand to your forehead again. Somehow, it was warmer than the first time he'd done it before the panel. It was then that Jensen finally appeared, a whole bag of things in hand, "Could you bring the thermometer over?"
"Yeah, gotcha." He walked over and rummaged through the bag at the same time, pulling out a thermometer.
"Y/N, we need to take your temperature." Jensen said.
"No need." you said, "'M not sick."
"You are so obviously sick, I'm not asking." again with that stern voice. Jared gave him a "Hey, she's sick, back off a little" sort of look, but it had worked, and you let them take your temp. They were almost shocked when the thing beeped at 103.
"Should we take her to a hospital? That's way too high." Jared asked.
"If it gets any higher, yes, but let's see if we can bring it down first." Jensen replied.
"No hospitals." you demanded, opening your eyes and glaring at them.
"We aren't bringing you yet, Y/N, but I need you to eat this so you can take some meds." he held out two pieces of toast that he must've brought from his room. You hated toast even when you weren't sick.
"I'm not really hungry."
"I know, but it'll help. You haven't told us what's bothering you yet, either." Jared responded.
"Nothing's-" you coughed a few times, a bit violently, "bothering me." "We can see that." Jensen said sarcastically.
"Everything's bothering me." you whispered, giving up.
"Your stomach hurt?" Jensen asked. You waved your hand from side to side to signal a so-so, "Think you'll get sick at all?"
"No, it's not like that, I don't think." you breathed out, another cough escaping you. You took a few bites out of the toast. It made you uncomfortable, but it was then that you realized you probably felt that way since you really hadn't eaten much that day or the one before, which probably contributed to the splitting headache. It didn't go away after, either though. You pushed yourself up. You almost fell over, but Jared put a hand out for you.
"Alright, good. Take this. I'm going to be frank, it tastes disgusting." Jensen handed over a small cup of liquid, "Sometimes, if you take it like a shot, it helps. But you shouldn't know how to take shots, but if you do it, I won't judge." And so you did, causing the two to chuckle slightly at you.
"You were right, about the sleep thing." you slumped back onto the bed heavily, like a brick.
"When am I ever wrong?" Jensen asked, "Don't answer that, actually."
But you were already sleeping again, and the boys decided to stay nearby for now. The next panel wasn't for another few hours anyway, and they just didn't want you to be alone. Also, incase you were wrong about the toast, and it decided to make its return. Jared's phone began to ring loudly, to which he very quickly tried to answer so his obnoxious ringtone wouldn't wake you up again, not that you wouldn't have just fallen back asleep anyway.
"Misha? Hey, what's up?" Jared answered. Jensen walked over to hear what was going on on the other side of the line, but Jared just decided to put it on speaker.
"Where are you guys? I haven't seen you all day. Felicia, Alex, and I are going out for lunch, we were wondering if you guys want to come. I tried calling Y/N, but she didn't answer, so." he rambled.
"That's because Y/N's not feeling well." Jensen said, giving him a solution to his predicament of not being answered, "We're with her right now, so we'll have to pass."
"She's sick? Is she okay?"
"Yeah, I think so. She's just got this crazy fever we've been trying to bring down. Thinking about it now, Jensen, we should probably check it again."
"A fever?"
"It's been at 103 degrees for like, two hours. At least for what we know of. She's probably had one all day, but as a dumb teenager does, she just tried to ignore it."
"If it goes up you should-"
"Yeah, we know," Jared said, "we're trying really hard to avoid that, though. Also, she'll definitely fight against it, I don't know."
Jensen, from the other side of the room at the sound of a beeping thermometer, could be heard on Misha's end, "It went down, finally. 102.2."
"Thank God, I was getting worried."
"Should I come there? Do you guys need any help?" Misha asked.
"I mean you can, but I think we're good. She's just been trying to sleep it off the whole time, so not much is really going on." Jensen was closer to the phone now, "Like, she's got this cough, a headache, and you can hear how congested she sounds, but mostly I think she's just exhausted. I honestly don't know how because she's just been sleeping for hours."
"Fatigue."
"Yeah, poor kid. I don't think I've ever seen her so tired, it almost makes me tired to be honest." Jensen joked.
"Maybe you're just getting sick." Jared slipped in.
"Not possible. I am immune."
"Nobody is immune, Jensen." Misha sighed.
"I'm not nobody." he shrugged.
"Alright, well, we're going to get lunch then. If you need anything let me know, and tell her I hope she feels better." Misha concludes.
"We will, thanks Misha." and with that, Jared hung up. For a few more hours, the two hung around. They were there when you woke from some fever dreams, and when you needed a cough drop, or twelve, and wake you up every now and then to check your temperature, which raised and dropped and raised and dropped, but currently was at a very steady 102.4. But, soon enough, it was time for them to leave for the last panel of the day, and unsurprisingly, you tried to follow suit.
"Y/N, we gotta go, but we'll be back in about an hour from the panel." Jared said. You took a deep breath and sluggishly pushed yourself to the side of the bed. Having been sick, and not having sat up in a few hours, the blood rushed from your head, leaving you dizzy.
"What're you doing?" Jensen asked.
"The panel. I missed the last one I should go to this one. I feel okay." you yawned, then coughed slightly.
"Y/N, really, you shouldn't even think about pushing it like that." Jared said. Jensen walked over to you, half on the bed, clearly trying to steady yourself just from the movement of sitting up. The spinning room honestly almost made the toast make a reprise, and you hiccupped, and held your breath.
"Hey," Jensen grabbed a can quickly, noticing, "are you going to be sick?"
Giving it a minute, it went away, and you shook you head no, causing a huge tension to leave the room.
"Alright, well, remember how you said I was right all the time earlier?" Jensen pun the can down.
"No, must've been the fever." you half joked, causing Jared to laugh.
"Alright- well- okay, shut up. We agreed I'm always right, and that I was right about needing sleep, so I say you need some more." Jensen demanded rather than suggested.
"Yeah, or at least lay around and do nothing. I can't imagine ever sleeping as much as you just did." Jared joked, pushing you very gently back down, with his hand on your back, knowing you would just hit the bed without it. Your eyes were heavy again, and your throat was painfully dry, and you coughed. Your aching head also agreed with the two of them to your dismay.
"Maybe just a bit more." you mumbled, "A few minutes."
"Yeah a few minutes, sure." Jared smiled, knowing you were probably going to knock out for a few hours once again. You opened your eyes again.
"You think," you coughed, "that they'll be mad?
"Who?" Jensen asked.
Feeling pretty sick, you said, "That I don't go? I don’t feel really good."
Ah, the fever comes to play once again, it seems, but the two felt some sort of triumph now that you've at least admitted to being sick, even if it's been hours. It concerned them, though, if you felt bad enough to admit it.
"No, they'll be fine about it. We'll be back soon. Misha or Alex might come in to check on you, alright?" Jared answered, to which you nodded.
They weren't gone long. You spent half the next day sleeping, too, until you could stand without swaying. You did sneak back to the con, against Jensen and Jared's orders, since you really didn't break that fever and cough for a few more days, only to be caught after a tweet of you at the con was trending and the cast caught wind of it. But, eventually, you were better, and got the chance to help Jared take care of an "always immune" Jensen. And he was more stubborn than you were.
A/N: I’m not sure what it is about this song but I’ve had it on repeat for the past few months. There’s something about it. Part of it definitely stems from the fact that no one has kissed me as the 1975 plays in the background. I wasn’t sure when I wanted this to happen but I just watched the episode where JJ and Will get married and it finally clicked. This is the perfect moment for that with Spence. Soft and romantic, that feeling you get after leaving a wedding and knowing that love is real because you’ve just been surrounded by so much of it.
lol so through the course of writing this, it just got longer and longer oops.
----------
You tilted your head back laughing as Derek and Spencer spun you back and forth between the two of them as “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” played in the background. Penelope was singing drunkenly along, holding on to Rossi as she forced him to sway back and forth with her.
“Hey babygirl,” Derek called out to Penelope, twirling you back into Spencer’s arms, “You wanna do the lift?” He started to back up, gesturing at her to run at him.
“Oh no, I’m not that drunk. These heels are not meant for running. Or sticking a landing. No way,” she said, opting instead to take Rossi’s hand and let him spin her into a slightly offbeat, step together move.
You leaned your head on Spencer’s chest as you rocked slowly to the beat. All around you, your closest friends smiled and laughed and danced together. Despite the hell of the day before, everyone managed to pull through for JJ and Will. The happy couple were whispering to each other in the middle of the dance floor, caught up in their own little world. JJ’s fingers curled tightly around Will’s. It didn’t seem like either of them would be letting go for a long time. The events of yesterday seemed to remind them of that.
“What’s going on up there?” Spencer asked you, lightly tapping your temple to get your attention.
“Hmm?” You looked up at him, jostled slightly from your musings by the tap to your head.
“You okay?” He reiterated, searching your face for micro-expressions.
You smiled up at him. “I’m really happy Spencer,” you told him, “It’s hard not to be. I’m with my family, aren’t I?” You giggled, unable to contain the unbridled happiness that was coursing through you.
You looked around you. Over to one side, Beth was dancing with Jack as Hotch looked on fondly. Next to them, Henry had wriggled his way between Will and JJ. Will picked him up and the family started swaying and spinning together, laughing at Henry’s fist pumps to the slow music. On the other side, Penelope and Derek were (lousily) attempting a grapevine as Rossi and Emily seemed to pull out all the stops as they waltzed gracefully. Show offs.
“You know, you guys are my best friends,” you said, looking back up at Spencer. “Truly, best in the whole world.”
As much as he tried to hide it, you clocked the millisecond of discomfort in his expression before he smiled at you again. You pushed it to the back of your mind. You weren’t going to let yourself go full profiler and ruin tonight for yourself. Tonight you were going to enjoy this moment with the people you held closest to your heart. Tomorrow you could analyze why Spencer didn’t like you referring to him so fondly.
----------
You couldn’t guess the time if you tried as everyone started stumbling out of Rossi’s mansion. You could however, tell that you, along with most of the team, had a little bit too much to drink.
“I’m calling cabs for all of you, you can come collect your keys tomorrow,” Rossi said, jangling Derek, Penelope, Emily and your keys in his hand.
“I’ll take them,” Spencer fake sighed, rolling his eyes before revealing a grin. “Okay, everyone in,” he said, unlocking his Volvo and waiting for everyone to situate themselves. You found yourself squished in between Emily and Derek as Penelope eagerly hopped in the passenger seat. “You aren’t buckled Y/N,” Spencer scolded, staring you down in the rear view window, waiting for you to secure yourself in the seat.
You looked behind you, trying to find the seat belt. Coming up empty, you shot Spencer a quizzical look in the mirror. He unfastened his own belt to turn around towards you, reaching back to pull out the belt before securing it gently across you.
You weren't sure if it was the alcohol, but Spencer’s hand seemed to linger at the point where the seat belt touched your hip. And for whatever reason, probably the alcohol, you wanted more contact. Sadly, Spencer turned back around abruptly to wrestle the volume dial away Penelope.
“But this is my jam!” Penelope whined as Spencer lowered the volume back to where you could hear your own thoughts again.
“I can’t drive if I can’t hear. Distracted driving is incredibly dangerous-”
“Just drive Pretty Boy, I’ve got a hot lady waiting for me at home,” Derek interrupted Spencer’s tangent and coincidentally caught the attention of the three women in the car.
“Who? What woman? Who?” Penelope instantly asks, poking Derek in the leg as best she could from her position in the passenger seat. You and Emily both stared at him quizzically. You brought out your ‘tell me more’ elbow as Emily wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
“Her name is My Bed and her friend, My Pillow, is also anxiously awaiting my return so please, step on it,” Derek said, leaving the girls in various states of shock and giggles.
Spencer shifted the car into drive and slowly pulled out, stepping on it as much as one can while staying within the 25 mile per hour residential limit of the law.
----------
You waved goodbye to Penelope as she stepped into the doorway of her apartment complex before settling yourself in the front seat. As you buckled and reclined your seat a few degrees, you felt Spencer’s eyes on you. “Are you alright?” he asked.
“I’m fine,” you assured him, “I just get a little bit sick in the back of cars. It’s a little worse from the drinks.” You noticed Spencer immediately tense. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to be sick. I’m a big girl, I can hold my liquor.”
You watched as his shoulders relaxed as he turned back towards the road. For as uptight as Spencer seemed about following the rules of the road, he looked surprisingly relaxed as he drove through the city streets. You attributed part of it to the lack of traffic at this early hour of the morning. Even so, seeing Spencer doing something as simple as driving one handed as the other rested on the gear shift sent a slight shiver down your spine. It was wildly attractive.
As he slowed down for a stop light, he looked over at you again. “What’s going on up there?” he asked, repeating his words from earlier that night. You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or if his gaze was really as intense as it felt, boring holes into you.
“It’s just...” you start, trailing off for a moment, trying to find the right words. “We don’t get a lot of happy time. As tired as I am and as much as these shoes are killing me, I’d do anything to be able to live in tonight forever. With all of you. You guys are my closest friends in the world and I watch as we all struggle to find the light after day in and day out of tragedy. When we get moments like this, it’s hard when they’re over.” You hadn’t meant to get so deep so quickly. You hadn’t meant to bare your soul like that in front of Spencer. Not that you didn’t trust him implicitly, you just knew that intense emotional expression could sometimes overwhelm him. Leave him unsure of how to proceed.
“Yeah, I know,” he agreed simply, turning back to the road as the light turned green. “It’s nice to forget for a while.”
The drive continued in comfortable silence. Your eyes closed, the streetlamps agitating your oncoming migraine as soft classical music played through the sound system.
“What song is this? I’m assuming Beethoven, right?” you asked.
“You would be correct,” you could hear Spencer’s smile in his response and almost opened your eyes to see it. “It’s Piano Concerto Number 5 in E flat major.” The music swelled as he spoke before a decrescendo to a soft, simplistic melody again. It took everything in your power to subdue your Drunk Brain. Between the music, his one hand grip of the steering wheel, the neon lights of downtown and the alcohol in your system you wanted to just lean over and-
No. This was Spencer. Spencer deserved better than subpar drunk roadhead.
You opened your eyes wide at that realization, sitting up straight before being choked out by the seat belt's emergency locking mechanism. Spencer’s attention snapped to you as you coughed violently, attempting to unlock the mechanism so you could lean forward onto your knees.
“Woah, woah, Y/N what happened?” The concern was clear in Spencer’s voice. “We’re at your apartment, are you okay to go up?”
“I’m-” you choked out another cough, finally feeling clear enough to take a normal breath in. “I’m okay. I just…” you trailed off, trying to think of anything to say besides ‘I got freaked out by how much I wanted to suck you off because I know we aren’t like that’.
Spencer placed the car in park and turned off the engine before stepping out of the vehicle. He rounded the front of the car before opening your door and squatting besides you. “Let me get that,” he said, releasing you from your seat belt. Your chest was still heaving which certainly didn’t help how flustered you could feel yourself getting from how close Spencer was to you. The concern in his eyes only made you more attracted in that moment and it took everything you had to remind yourself that you are part of a team of profilers. There was no getting out of this hole you dug yourself into tonight.
“Thank you,” you managed to whisper as you took his hand and stepped out of the car. You hadn’t realized how much Spencer had allowed skin to skin contact tonight. You knew that it was hard for him to avoid hyperfixation on how many germs were passed every time someone initiated skin to skin contact. Yet he danced with you, touched your face, and was now taking your hand. You wanted to read deeper, to profile this simple change, but your addled brain would not cooperate with you at the moment.
As you stood up, the world spun. Sitting, you felt buzzed. Standing, however, it took you a moment to realize that Spencer had wrapped an arm around your waist to bring you back to an upright position. Staring hard, his face came into clearer focus.
“You’re drunk,” he stated simply. You couldn’t help but giggle. He wasn’t wrong. You caught him smiling back at you before turning his face away and replacing it with a more impassive stare.
----------
Lucky for the two of you, your apartment complex had recently fixed the elevator that had been broken for the past six months. Otherwise, maneuvering you back to your apartment would have been far more difficult. As you approached your door, you felt a tug on your handbag. Spencer gently removed it from your grip and fished out your keys, unlocking the apartment door before guiding you inside.
Spencer had never been inside your space before. There was no reason for him to. Hotch had stopped by once before to drop off case files when you were sick but other than that, no one from the team had been here. And Hotch didn’t even come inside.
You studied his face, doing your best to pick up his micro-expressions as he looked around your small living space. There wasn’t much. A worn, cushy couch, two oversized arm chairs, a stack of books on an end table and a large collection of half dead plants. Spencer guided you to one of the arm chairs before taking a closer look at one of your ivy plants.
“You do know that overwatering kills just as much as underwatering, right?” Spencer said, clearly messing with you.
You turned to look at him as he took one of the ivy leaves between his fingers.
“Eugene is just temperamental,” you countered, frowning at the plant.
“You named them?”
“Of course,” you huffed, pulling yourself up to grab a glass of water, “I can’t just refer to it as Hedera Helix all the time. I have another, they need a distinction. So I name them.” You made your way slowly to the kitchen, hearing Spencer follow you just closely enough that he could stabilize you if you teetered again. You pulled your favorite mug out of the cupboard before filling it with water.
“It’s late,” Spencer said, nodding his head to the time displayed on your stove. 3:37.
You immediately felt a wave of regret crash into you. You hadn’t intended on being so needy tonight. It was late. And here Spencer was, watching over your drunk, bumbling self instead of going home and getting some sleep.
“I probably wouldn’t be asleep anyways, really, don’t worry about it,” Spencer said, taking quick note of your change in demeanor.
“You can go,” you said, turning your attention back to your mug. “Really, thank you for everything tonight but it is late.”
“Y/N…” Spencer started, crouching a bit to get back in your line of vision, “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t want to be. If you want me to leave, I will. But don’t think that I’m here against my will. Okay?”
You nodded softly. You wanted him to stay. You wanted him to be here in the morning when you woke up. You wanted so very much more from him in that moment. “Would you…” you faltered, second guessing your decision.
“Would I what, Y/N?” Spencer asked softly.
“Would you stay? I have a guest room and the sheets are clean and I understand if it’s weird because you’ve never been here before and now I’m trying to drag you into an unwanted weird sleepover and I’m drunk and you’re not and it’s late and you should really-”
You froze as Spencer let out a little laugh.
“I don’t mind staying. Sometimes it’s nice not to have to go home to an empty apartment after nights like this,” he said. Your eyes widened for a moment and you could tell he realized the unintentional subtext of his comment. “No! Not like that! I just meant that- I mean- Tonight was nice! And happy! And sometimes, being alone…” he trailed off.
You knew what he meant. Sometimes, being alone just brings all the terror back. And sometimes, after a night with the people who mean the most to you, who remind you that there’s good in this world, you just aren’t ready for that to end.
“I have some men’s sweats if you want to change,” you offered. Spencer raised his eyebrows at you. “I bought them. I like sleeping in oversized sweats, I don’t have enough time to be collecting them from random guys. Get your head out of the gutter Dr. Reid,” you scolded him, laughing.
You made your way to your bedroom, only stumbling slightly, and retrieved a pair of grey sweats along with an old, 2xl 5k t-shirt you got when you used to run. You handed them to Spencer before showing him to the guest bedroom. “Goodnight Spence,” you said.
“Goodnight Y/N, sleep well,” he replied, waiting for you to shut the door before he started changing.
You closed the door before returning to your own bedroom. You closed the door and leaned against it, doing everything in your power not to walk back into the guest room and kiss him. Or ask him to do unspeakable things to you. You knew he wouldn’t, mostly because he’d ramble off that intoxicated consent is not consent and probably something about respecting you and your professional relationship too much blah blah blah. Sighing, you went to unzip your dress to change into pajamas.
No matter how much you twisted your body, the zipper was just out of reach, laying directly in the space between your flailing hands. Shit.
Moments later, you found yourself outside of the guest bedroom, knocking gently on the door.
“Spence?”
The door swung open and it took everything you had not to gasp. The grey sweatpants hung low on his hips and the t-shirt clung ever so slightly to his frame. You heard Spencer clear his throat and your eyes shot up to meet his. He caught you staring.
“Can you help me?” you asked, trying to distract from your staring. You turned around and lifted your hair, hoping he’d get the message and help with the zipper. Luckily, he did. Chills ran up your spine as he slowly pulled it down, just enough so you could reach it yourself. He was always so respectful, especially when you were as drunk as you currently were.
“Thanks,” you whispered, moving towards your bedroom door.
“Sweet dreams,”
Your heart fluttered again as you made it back to your room without embarrassing yourself any further. Now freed from the cursed dress, you took no time in removing your makeup and throwing on an old shirt. Almost as soon as your head hit the pillow, you were drifting off to sleep.
----------
A small crash in the kitchen woke you up. You sat straight up in bed, reaching for the gun in your bedside table drawer. Slowly, you peaked your head out of your room, keeping your gun extended as you swept the hallway. Your head was pounding and fuzzy, definitely from the alcohol. Penelope and you should never be allowed to drink together again. She always talks you into doing too many shots. Quietly, you maneuvered yourself into the living space of the apartment, squinting against the bright light streaming in your curtains. And then you smelled...coffee? You lowered your gun as you crept towards the kitchen.
“Oh shoot. Shoot shoot shoot son of a-” a hushed voice came from the kitchen, freezing as you rounded the corner. Spencer sat on the floor, picking up the remains of an old coffee mug.
“Spencer?” you said, trying to piece together the flashes of memory you had from the night before.
“I’m so sorry!” he blurted out. “I was trying to be quiet and then I knocked over the mug. I just know coffee usually helps with hangovers and you had a lot to drink last night and-you have a gun?”
“You’re in my apartment?” you asked, attempting to process what he was saying along with the scene in front of you. Spencer stood up, stretching slightly and revealing a small strip of skin in between one of your old t-shirts and a pair of your oversized sweats. That certainly didn’t help you focus on deciphering what was going on.
“You asked me to stay last night. I hope it’s okay that I did?” Spencer’s eyes were trained on your face, attempting to analyze your reaction. You sighed, a few pieces of last night fitting together. You secured the safety on your glock before sitting it on the counter.
“Of course it’s okay Spence. I’m just trying to put everything together, that’s all,” you assured him, moving to grab the dustpan out of a cabinet and sweep up the mug remains.
“I’m sorry about the mug,” he repeated. You laughed. It was one of the generic FBI mugs they gave out when they forced you to go to seminars.
“Spence, it’s fine. Trust me, it wasn’t even in my top ten favorite mugs,” you said, reaching into the cupboard for another. “Here, try not to drop this one.” You handed him a different mug.
You watched as he read the text under his breath. “How does Pavlov keep his hair so shiny? He conditions it…” Spencer looked at you with a very dry expression as he tried not to laugh. “Pavlov puns? Really?”
“You’re not the only one who can make bad jokes. Now, the creamer should be on the door, spoons are in that drawer,” you said, pointing to the drawer a little to his left, “and I keep sugar cubes in that cabinet, look to the right.” You poured yourself a cup of black coffee before leaning against the counter and taking a sip. Spencer made his coffee too and you both stood in comfortable silence, drinking your coffee.
“Thank you,” you finally said, avoiding Spencer’s eyes as you swirled your coffee around the mug. “You didn’t have to do any of that last night, you’re a really good friend. I’m so lucky to have you.” You met his eyes, noting...something off? You couldn’t place it. You raised a brow at him.
He sighed and looked away, trying to brush off the subject. You weren’t having it.
“Talk to me,” you coaxed, placing your hand over his. You expected him to move. You realized after you did it that you were pushing a physical boundary with him. Guilt began to flood you until you realized, he didn’t move. You didn’t withdraw his hand or flinch. Instead, he stretched his fingers ever so slightly under your touch so they brushed against your palm. “Spence?”
“I- Y/N, I value you so much,” he started.
“Spence, I know you do-”
“And I don’t want you to think I’m trying to make you feel like you owe me or anything for being nice to you last night-”
“Spence…?”
“I don’t want to just be your friend,” he sputtered out.
Oh. Oh. You looked at him, wide eyed, trying to figure out if he really meant what you thought he meant.
“I’m sorry, forget it,” he immediately recanted, placing his mug down on the counter. “I should go,”
You caught his arm as he tried to move past you. Your hand ran gently up his chest, causing little goosebumps to pop up on his arms. His fingers barely brushed your thighs as they ghosted up them. His head leaned into the crook of your neck. “I don’t want to be your friend, Y/N,” he breathed against the sensitive skin of your neck. “I want to be able to do this instead.” He pressed his lips gently to your neck, kissing it once.
It felt like all the air left your lungs the moment his lips touched you. You could feel him chuckle against your neck at your reaction. He kissed your neck again, more intensely this time. You melted into his arms as he peppered your neck with kisses.
“Spencer,” you breathed out, causing him to lift his head from your neck.
“Yes?”
“Kiss me.”
Making A Move
A Spencer Reid Imagine
Female!Reader, BAU!Reader// This might be the cutest thing I’ve ever written. Short and sweet at 1300 words.
Warnings// Very unproofread; partial nudity ig; cuteness, this is so fluffy, adorable Spencer.
From a friendly anon: I'm so happy you're writing for Spencer! I've had this idea where the reader works for the BAU and is a hypochondriac (scared of getting sick) and has a lump or something on their body in a weird spot (if you know what I mean) and is freaking out about it, so even though Spencer isn't a medical doctor they still ask him. Spencer and the reader both like each other but neither realize it, so they're both really flustered, but like the reader is freaking out over nothing. I love your writing!!!
To anon: Thank you so much!!! This is my first Spencer imagine and I’m very excited about this!!! Want to apologize in advance if I portrayed hypochondria in a bad way or was disrespectful in any way!
Not my gif: enjoy!!
Tumblr media
“Spence,” you reached for his hand and grabbed it, leading him into the small file closet. You and Spencer were about as close as you could possibly get as friends without dating. You were almost like Morgan and Garcia, but you were both more awkward about flirting with each other and flustered each other way easier than they did. You and Spencer just work. You just do. You might not have an IQ of 187, but you do have a photographic memory, slightly different than Spencer’s eidetic memory, but still very useful. You weren’t a genius, but you worked your ass off to get into the FBI the same age as Spencer. Oh, and, you weren’t a profiler, which had its perks. You were the communications liaison, and you were incredible at your job, so you got to show off your best assets. You were great at public speaking, and you still got to help the team figure things out. If you put you and Spencer in a room together, there was nothing you couldn’t figure out.
Your one flaw? You were a huge hypochondriac. It wasn’t even really a flaw, you just went the extra mile to stay healthy. It wasn’t delusional or anything, but it wasn’t exactly helpful in your line of work, since you had to introduce yourself to so many people. You washed your hands every time you shook a new Detective’s hand when introducing yourself at a new police stated, you washed your hands before touching things, etc. And when you got sick, it was a nightmare. It was basically like you were Spencer, but on steroids. Actually, it’s how you first connected.
Agent Hotchner smiled at you and reached out to shake your hand, “It’s great to meet you Agent Y/l/n, this is the team, and everyone this is Y/f/n Y/l/n,” he went through all the members and you shook their hands up until Spencer.
“Oh I don’t shake hands, it actually spreads more germs than-” he definitely wasn’t used to being cut off.
“Kissing, yeah I know. Trust me. I really, really detest shaking hands, I just can’t avoid it in this job. Hand sanitizer’s my best friend. Nice to meet you Dr. Reid.” You smiled, locking eyes with him. He stood there with glazed eyes for a second.
“Spencer...you can call me Spencer.” You walked away but Spencer stayed in his spot, speechless for once.
“Looks like you’ve met your match pretty boy,” Derek tapped Spencer’s back before walking over. Just like that, you guys became super close.
“Y/n...why are we in the file closet?”
“I need help...”
“Are you okay, I noticed you started spinning your bracelet again,” his voice was laced with genuine concern.
“Yeah, I have a medical question, or problem, I have a thing.”
“I’m not that kind of doctor, Y/n. Why couldn’t you ask me in the bullpen?”
“You’re the closest thing I’ve got to a doctor in here, you know the human body better than anyone, and...well,” you sighed, “It’s in a...spot,” you were suddenly super aware of how close Spencer was to you, only a couple of inches away.
“A spot?” You waited for it to click in his mind, “...oh! Wh-where, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“I...have a lump.”
“Y/n, you don’t have breast cancer. It’s possible, but doctors most often diagnose breast cancer in females aged 55 to 64 years, the rates your age are unbelievably low. If you feel pain, you’re probably just feeling soreness from an upcoming or passing menstrual cycl-”
“No, no, please stop” you didn’t feel like talking to Spencer about your vagina right now, even though this was an issue in the same ballpark, “it’s not a breast lump, it’s like...in between...my...breasts.”
“What about it exactly did you need my help with? It’s most likely nothing.”
“Spencer. I am going insane, I’ve been doing research, and I can’t focus. I need to know what it is, but if I go to a hospital, I’ll go insane, or they’ll think I’m crazy.”
“Okay, okay, how can I help?”
“I want to know what it is...” you reached at the bottoms of your shirt, “can you...close your eyes?”
“Okay.” You watched his eyes flutter shut. You reached with a shaky hand for his hand and grabbed his thumb. You took his thumb and put it on the lining of your bra, so it wasn’t under the material, but on top of it. You swallowed and let go of his hand, “do you know what it is?”
“I think I do. D-d-does that...um...does that hurt?” He applied a little bit of pressure, but was still gentle in his touch.
“No, it doesn’t hurt, it’s just...there.”
“Um...can I?” you took a sharp breath as his cold finger went under the fabric, “Sorry, does that hurt?”
“No your finger’s just cold.” You choked out.
“I’m almost positive it’s just your sternum, also known as the breastbone. It’s the bone that connects your ribcage. Usually in women it rests in this spot. It’s only a problem if you experience sharp pains when you breathe in and out. You’re...um not breathing. Uh...can you take a deep breath for me?” Your heart fluttered at the way he said “for me”. He was right, you hadn’t breathed since before his hand was right in between your breasts. You took a deep breath, “Any pain.”
“Nope, no pain,” you breathed out, truly just relieved you weren’t dying.
“Then you’re all good.”
“Thanks Spence,” he removed his hand from under your bra.
“No problem,” he opened his eyes and made eye contact with you.
“Spencer I’m still...” he clasped his hand over his eyes.
“I am so sorry, I completely forgot you were still-”
“Yep, no, don’t worry about it, innocent mistake,” your face was on fire as you reached for your shirt as fast as you could.
“Y/n?”
“Yeah Spence?”
“You’re really pretty, and more people should tell you that,” your face heat up even more, and you didn’t think that was possible.
“You think I’m pretty?” He didn’t say anything, just nodded, his hand still over his face. You stuttered over your words, “you’ve never said anything like that before,” he didn’t respond,  “You can open your eyes I have my shirt on now.” He moved his hand away from his eyes and smiled at you.
“I did research and statistically, complimenting your best friend that you really like kind of gives it way 70% of the time, but since I’m really close to you and you had your shirt off 48 seconds ago, I’m kind of nervous, which made me start rambling, and now I’m gonna stop.” You smiled at him. He was way too cute for your own good.
“You like me?” You were already nervous being so close to him, you couldn’t process his words.
“Derek said you liked me back, so I thought I’d just go for it,” he was inching closer and closer to you, “Is that okay?” You nodded and his lips touched yours, his hands finding their way to your back. He was hesitant, but still firm. He pulled away from you and removed his hands from your back.
“We should do something tomorrow night,” you said once you caught your breath.
“We could go to a movie...or something?” He shifted his tie.
“Yeah that’d be really great,” you kissed his cheek before leaving the file room, your heart still beating way too fast. You went to your desk, and Spencer came out a second later. Your smile never faded as you continued to type at your computer, glancing over at Spencer every once in a while. You watched as Derek approached Spencer’s desk.
“What the hell am I watching go down.” You don’t think you’d ever seen Derek happier.
“I made, as you would say, a move.”
eee i hope you guys like this!!!
Accidental confession
anonymous - Sakusa accidentally confessing to the reader tho?👀👀👀
So I’m not sure now if this is a request or just a question. But anyway, let’s just write a little bit.
Pairing: Sakusa x reader Warning: none, maybe slightly manga spoiler
Tumblr media
Sakusa and you have been friends since childhood. So it’s no wonder you’re one of the few people he lets get closer to. In fact, you’re the only one he likes to have around every day, who he also likes to hold in his arms.
But that’s because you’ve known each other for so long, nothing else. At least that’s what Sakusa thinks, because realistically, it’s pointless to admit to himself and to you his feelings. Because the fact is, you just see him as a friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
Since his career as a professional volleyball player takes off, you have little time for you two and you ask him if it would be possible to watch him train and then do something together.
First he thinks it’s a good suggestion. After all, you want to keep up your good bond, but it quickly turns out for him that this idea is anything but good. Because he had completely forgotten that his teammates might also find you interesting.
That Atsumu of all people is the one who jumps around you like a puppy, looking for attention, is something he doesn’t like.
Always he wraps his sweaty arms around your body. Spread his bacteria on your neck with his breath while he whispers something in your ear. And worst of all, he distracts your attention from Sakusa.
Today it’s similar again, while all players are still stretching after training, Atsumu is already at the bench next to you. Smirking, he bends over to you and tells you something Sakusa can’t hear.
Sakusa’s eye begins to twitch with rage, as he sees Atsumu making you laugh, how your eyes begin to sparkle, how you play embarrassed with your hair, as you usually do with Sakusa, when he has to teach you to always wash the apples from the market, otherwise you will not get rid of all the bacteria and pesticides. Even if he tells you every time that he’s just worried, you just smile embarrassed.
He feels how the anger arises more in him and how, in addition to the anger, a strange bitter-sweet pain forms in his chest. However, just before he wants to devote himself to the sport again, his patience brusts. Because Atsumu reaches out to your cheek and caresses it with a grin.
“Miya Atsumu you stray! Take your dirty paws off Y/n!” Sakusa’s angry voice echoes through the entire hall, all eyes now on him. Stomping, hands clenched to fists, he comes to you.
“What’s the matter, Omi Omi? Did you get up with the wrong foot or why are you acting so weird?” Atsumu grins, hands protective in the air. “Nobody’s talking to you.” He hisses in a dark tone, and now turns to you with his raven-black eyes.
“What are you doing Y/n? You want to spend more time with me, want to go to my training, only to spend your time with that germ spreader next to you. Talk to him, laugh with him... Then why don’t you go out with him after practice?” Never before had you heard Sakusa so angry as he stands in front of you with his arms and eyebrows folded, his mouth slim.
“I don’t know what you mean, even if it were like this... Why are you so upset, Kiyoomi?” Your voice, unlike his, is as quiet and calm as you try to calm him down. “What a silly one. I mean it’s obvious. I want her around me, which is not the case with anyone else. I worry about her, whether it’s something stupid as not washed apple that could make her sick or worse things that could happen to her. It upsets me when others talk to her who make her as happy or more happy than I can. These are obvious facts. Of course I’m angry because I love her. I just love her.” he murmurs absentmindedly to himself.
While Atsumu looks with a proud grin from your face at Sakusa, you just look at him completely perplexed. “You… what?” You stutter in disbelief and get up to stand in front of him.
“What?” he asks irritated as he looks into your disbelieving face. “You love me Kiyoomi?” the words come out of you almost silence. His eyes are getting bigger and bigger. Did he really just say his thoughts out loud? Did he just tells you how he felt?
That would be bad. After all, he risks your long-standing friendship. If he tries to talk his way out of this, you probably won’t believe him. Still, he’s got to try and talk his way out of this situation.
“Sakusa Kiyoomi, talk to me!” Your almost demanding voice takes him out of his thoughts. Your eyes, so beautiful for him, do not look at him disappointed or angry, no they are full of love and hope. Like you want to tell him not to let you down.
“Don’t try to talk yourself out of it, Omi Omi. Everyone except for Y/n, knew from the first day you brought her here that you were in love with her from head to toe. So please, Mr germaphobe or Mr realist, whatever you may call yourself, put an end to this tragedy and finally kiss her.” Atsumu sighs and gives you a push against the back, which lets you fall forward directly into Sakusa’s arms.
“Atsumu!” You call abashed, but only a few seconds later your face is wrapped in Sakusa’s hand and drawn upwards. Just to look at his face, the cheeks pink, the dark eyes suddenly so tender and innocent.
“This stray is probably right for once. I really love you Y/n.” His voice quietly wraps around your ears, as he bends down to you and hesitantly gives you a kiss that you return with a raging heart.
