Oooh good one, because I have thoughts and feelings about this. 😂

Pairing: Soldier Boy x Reader Word Count: 300

Headcanon: Playing with Soldier Boy's hair.

You can't help it. You love playing with Ben's hair, as much as he lets you.

Which is often, because he secretly loves it.

Even if he won't admit it, Ben sometimes craves the feeling of your fingers running through his hair. In his defense, you have gentle hands.

For you, it's because his hair is soft, and all too "sweepable," and you often brush the strands away from his eyes.

Especially during lazy moments lying in bed, or canoodled on the couch, or even during more intimate moments.

During sex, the brush of your hand through his hair is a simple thing that sometimes draws his eyes to your face, or secretly has him reveling in your softer touch. It's a contrast to his roughness, and sometimes reminds him to be a bit more gentle.

Other times, you'll lay against his chest, letting the rise and fall of his breath move you. And you'll unconsciously reach up to toy with the soft ends of his hair.

Or he'll occasionally allow himself to lay in your lap while you have your way.

For Ben, he's at his most relaxed when he feels the gentle sweep of your fingers -- in his hair, massaging his head, stroking his face or his neck.

It's gotten to the point where you do it almost absently, out of habit.

Sometimes he even falls asleep at your ministrations.

But he's also very aware of your touch. In general, he's all too self-aware when it comes to people touching him, drawing within his personal space. (A consequence of his time in Russia, though he doesn't acknowledge it.)

You don't even realize this, but you're helping him just with your calming touch. It comforts both of you, if in different ways.

Still, it's a small thing that connects you and Ben on a deeper level of intimacy, greater than either of you realize.

I've been thinking about Hotch playing poker / cards. Hes so competitive 😂 imagine having game nights with him

You're so right.

Hotch isn't the world's greatest poker player, but so long as Reid isn't in the game he can manage to hold a winning streak. Rossi invites him to a lot of his poker nights, but he rarely accepts, he prefers to spend his nights off with family. But, when he does get roped into evenings of whiskey, cigars, and card games that will surely hurt his wallet he admittedly enjoys himself. Plus, the satisfaction of taking money from Rossi is impossible to resist sometimes.

Aaron is too good at clue. While it's basically a game of probability, he's far too good at spotting patterns and two turns in he's figured out the mystery just based off of the cards in his hands, and the questions the other players have asked. He tries to be a good sport about it and hold back to let everyone else have fun, but he wins every time. (Side note: Aaron Hotchner is absolutely a fan of the 1985 film inspired by the board game. It's quirky and hilarious and camp. It gets him laughing every single time).

He's ruthless when he plays monopoly. He's got hotels built, and he's claiming rent on half of the board. He's a mastermind and it's fascinating to watch but it doesn't make it any less painful when you have to hand over stacks of colourful bills to him for landing on one of his properties. He also pouts every time he lands in jail or misses a turn.

Scrabble is fun. He's a nerd and not enough people take the time to notice that about him. He has a wide ranging vocabulary, but he takes more satisfaction in playing silly words than he does in spelling out big fancy words. Emily and JJ have definitely convinced him to start playing words with friends. When you find him glaring at his phone or his iPad on a Saturday afternoon there's a very good chance one of them just got a high word score. When the two of you play each other a glass of wine in your hand he's all smiles. He spells out I LOVE YOU with the pieces when you're getting ready to put the the board away for the night

No one on that team should be allowed to play uno. They played once at a gathering with a deck JJ brought from home. Never again. They can hunt serial killers, face trauma, and get held at gun point together, but none of them can play uno without spitting out threats or insults.

I think the only awkward situation would be Margaret. She does the absolute most all the time (including with Joe back when they were friends) and while the friendship may be over for obvious reasons, I would hope they could be cordial as colleagues. I didn’t see any interaction with them at all which is fine. I would steer clear of her if I was Joe. I would not want her getting a single detail of what is going - who he is dating, what he is up to, what projects he may do - knowing it’s all going back to someone.

I loved the video from yesterday of Joe and Emma and Hunter laughing and talking while leaving the premiere and her “Joe! We’re still on camera!” And there is the video too of them talking with Emma being very animated with her vape! It’s great to see but considering how much he supported her on social media through Poor Things, I always figured they were still good friends.

Margaret is definitely the big white elephant in the room. Apparently everybody clapped for Joe after his speech only except Margaret. Guess what, that woman doesn’t know how to maintain a professional act. She even unfollowed Joe on insta so i literally have no respect left for her. I think she's very annoying too. Kudos to Emily for maintaining a good relationship with Joe. She's a class act ofc. I also adore Joe and Hunter's friendship (my pro palestinian peeps). I'm just glad that he's surrounded with good people and one nagging co-star will be no harm to him really.

To the best of my knowledge no, at least for my real name! My internet name, Rags, I actually just ended up snagging from one of my OCs - a washed up rockstar named Cosimo Ragatz, who was a recovering drug addict that founded an indie record label with his wife.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Oh god, it was some time last week?? So much real life stuff had piled up and I think it was honestly some kind of mini-break or smth, god only knows. But I’m feeling better now lol.

3. Do you have kids?

ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NOT LMAO. My mom passed when I was young and I raised my younger siblings, I’ve done my time in the child rearing mines and I’m never doing it again.

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

For a really long time I rode horses and I was a really good three day eventer. I also really loved archery and swimming. I also rode dirt bikes too, and I’d love to get back into it!! 🥰🥰

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Yes indeed!! But I’m not sure that I use it as much as I used to. Not for any particular reason, I don’t think dgheh.

And what you see is it says, "Obliviati Mori."

Emily: "Remember you will die? Or forget you will die?!" (👀👀)

Brennan: "Clerics call it Obliviati Mori, but you see that as an arcane rule, it is called the Law of Theothanatic Silence."

Siobhan: "So that's when a god dies, you forget their name."

Brennan: "Yes. But you see that he's writing down all the mortal stuff you already know. When a god dies, you forget their name. When a god dies, they're scrubbed from existence. When a god dies, da da da da da. But you guys also know that for all that being said, 'Yes!' is dead because nobody believes in it, but people remember 'Yes!', right?"

Brennan: "You're all gods! Obliviati Mori is a precept that binds deities to not evangelize or even speak of fallen deities to mortals. In other words, it's written out as a precept of basically like, if a god succumbs to some form of death, they become archfey, they become a demon or a celestial rather than a full deity, if they only have a few dozen followers and another god kills them and they don't have the strength to withstand that, or if literally, in the most extreme cases, their name is fully forgotten, other deities are not allowed to effectively remind mortals of their existence."

Siobhan: "So does that mean that the person who wrote the note that is supposed to be from Lucy was actually a god?"

Brennan: "It makes it very unclear who could have written that. Because you're in this weird position where you guys can all write Yes!, you can write Cassandra. This god is one whose name has actually been forgotten or scrubbed by every single mortal."

OH MY GOSH. I'M ABOUT TO DROP SO MUCH LORE. THIS WAS MY EXACT REACTION WHILE MAKING THIS.👇 I AM UNHINGED. :D

Anyone reading this, you're gonna want to pull up a seat! This is gonna be long! Lol!

Other than James, is there any other hybrid dragons?: I would say yes. But they are very far and few between. At first. Let me explain a few things! So, in the golden days of dragons, there were many species. And they were all sorted into different classes. Titan, Standard, Dwarf, and Fey. (And there's Leviathan Class, but it's too big to show here.) In addition, they are subclasses like Seadragons, Serpents, Wyverns, Drakes, (Normal) Dragons, Fey Dragons, and Longs (Eastern Dragons). They sometimes also are sorted if they had any kind of magical abilities. And each of these would almost always mate only within their own species.

But then something happened. Humans got even smarter and started using tougher and more deadly weapons. Slowly dragon numbers began to dwindle and dragons began to migrate out of their usual habitats and into other species. These dragons started to find mates from other species in the areas they wandered to. Sometimes it was simply a matter of their species just dying out. Or the smaller territories crossing over. Either way, Hybrids were the results. They weren't super common at first. But by the time this AU's version of Journey Beyond Sodor comes around, they're WAY more common. In fact, Hurricane is a cross between a Titan Class (Gordon's Class) and a Standard Class (Thomas's Class)! EDIT: I forgot to mention! For this same reason, clans made up of multiple species also started to occur. Before, Dragon Clans were usually made up of only one species. But after families got separated and almost whole species killed off by humans, dragons began to bond with others outside their kind. Found family baby! :D

2. How do dragons react to lemon?: Weeeeeeeell...

That's a definite NOPE from Thomas.🤣 Yeah, I don't like they would like them much. Lol!

3. What’s Emily’s origin?: Okay, so here's the thing. She is literally NESSIE. Aka The Loch Ness Monster!

Well, she's what started the legend anyway. Albeit accidental. Lol. Here's the story. Emily is chilling in her Loch one day, minding her own business. She had just gotten up, so she isn't really paying attention to her surroundings. A camera flashes. Emily freezes and looks toward the shore. Two very nervous photographers are standing there. She panics and dives back down! But, she's a bit too late. Because, blurry as it is, that photo is enough to start a whole monster hunting craze. Suddenly the Loch is swimming with boats and flashing cameras, and Emily's whole clan has to relocate! And that's how she ended up on Sodor.😂

4. Other than villain dragons and humans, are there anymore rivals or villains they face against like wolves?: Do ghosts count? Sailor John is a pirate ghost in this story! But he disguises himself as a normal hooman. He has to find his old treasure chest, so he can become mortal again and rain terror across the seas again! Also, there's a few dangerous monsters and such. Trolls, Rock Monsters, Sand Worms, etc. (Beresford the crane is a bridge troll in this!) Sodor is actually part of an archipelago called The Golden Isles. So there's plenty of habitats for monsters to dwell. As for wolves, that's not such a bad idea! Perhaps something like Wargs could exist. They're the giant evil wolves from Lord Of The Rings. Something like that maybe.

5. Is Henry gentle to the forest animals and acts like a Father Nature type?: Absolutely! He loves the animals! And knows a lot about them! Because he's closer to animals than the others, he doesn't like to partake in hunting. And he has a more vegetarian diet.

Of course, most dragons are predators, and need food to survive. And of course, if there was too many prey animals, the ecosystem would be unbalanced. So there has been a compromise made. Any animal located within fifty feet of Henry's den, (Located under the Wishing Tree!) is safe from hunting. Also, one more cool fact about him is he has plant magic! He can grow plants, and has something called Root Connection. He can basically telepathically sync up with the trees communication signals and find out what's going on anywhere in the forest! His horns and eyes get all glowy and everything!

6. Is there any dragons that loves the beach or the coastal region?: Definitely! There's three whole clans that live by the beach! Salty's clan is on the Southern Coast of the island. And you know Salty loves the ocean! His clan is made up of himself, Porter, Cranky, and eventually Big Mickey and Carly. Cranky is a big Leviathan Class Seadragon as you can see. Porter and Salty can ride him.

And then there's Belle's Clan! (This AU's version of the Sodor search and rescue team!) They live on the northern coast and watch out for incoming dragons and ships! They're like the watch men of the island! They live on a sea mount called The Roost! Her clan is made up of Flynn, Harold, Captain, Butch, and Rocky. Don't have designs for them yet. Sorry.😅 (Flynn x Belle is thing in this too!)

And then lastly, we have Duck's clan. And while they live more inland than the others, they are still located on the northern coast! Duck's clan has Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Skiff, Daisy, and Ryan!

I don't have concepts for everyone yet. But here's Ryan, Daisy, and Duck's prototype designs! (Oh, and Ryan x Daisy is a thing in this!❤️)

The fountain’s base was nowhere near deep enough for the water to be of any real threat. But there was enough water for it to come as a shock. So much so that Adrien’s response was delayed. For a beat he lay in the water, before slowly sitting up to figure out what had just happened. His clothes were soaked and his dripping hair clung around his face. When he turned to where the other kids had been, he saw that all of them were running clear of the area. Evidently none of them wanted to be caught up in the situation and potentially blamed for what had happened. It was understandable, as the next thing Adrien knew he was being hauled out of the water by his arm. “What are you doing?” Gabriel hissed as he harshly pulled Adrien from the shallow water. Adrien stumbled onto his feet. His sodden clothes started to drip onto the gravel beneath him. “I-I was…” he stammered out, but it was all he could manage. Nathalie quickly appeared behind Gabriel, looking markedly concerned. “Is he okay?” For a moment Gabriel said nothing. He only stared down at Adrien, his eyes fierce and a disdainful curl on his lips. Then he started to drag Adrien along by the arm. “He’s fine,” Gabriel clipped. “Give us a moment, Nathalie.” With his arm locked into his father’s iron grip, Adrien had no choice but to follow. He was pulled to the edge of the park and through a gate that led to a side road. “An embarrassment,” Gabriel muttered under his breath as he dragged Adrien along the footpath. “After all that, you just had to embarrass me.” “I-I’m sorry,” Adrien whimpered. “It was an accident.” Gabriel came to an abrupt stop then. With a rough movement, he let go of Adrien’s arm and turned away to where a car was parked. Adrien recognised the black sedan easily as the one they’d arrived in. His heart sank at the thought that he was now being taken home, but there was also a small relief. His soaked clothing felt absolutely freezing on him now. It left him shivering uncontrollably despite the afternoon’s warm sun. Adrien stood where his father had left him on the pavement. He watched, trembling on the spot as Gabriel unlocked the car. But instead of going for the back seat as expected, he walked to the rear of the vehicle and opened the trunk. Gabriel’s glare then turned on Adrien. “Get in,” he commanded. Adrien could only look at his father in alarm. “B-But that’s-!” “Get,” Gabriel spat as he grabbed Adrien and dragged him towards the car, “in.”

I really had no idea how iconic this scene would become (for you and @wackus-bonkus-maximus anyway 😂)

This scene takes place as a sort of flashback-dream sequence. It follows Adrien and Gabriel's relationship reaching a critically dire point for Adrien, so in his unconscious state a lot of old memories are resurfacing.

Gabriel was a bad parent and awful person long before the events of this fic. It's unfortunately something Adrien has grown up with and therefore had to adapt to. Adrien assumes the blame - even for things that were not in any way his fault! - because that's a behaviour his parents encouraged in him. Gabriel is just more upfront and physical about it in his actions.

These scenes are also starting to layer more hints at how brittle and detached their father-son relationship is. It's incredibly one-sided. Adrien loves and looks up to his father - even if he finds the man terrifying - because Adrien loves his parents. Meanwhile Gabriel sees Adrien as a prop or tool at best, while at worst he views his son as a nuisance and a parasite.

It's a little canon divergent, since we do know that Gabriel does at least care about Adrien to certain extent in the show. He just cares about Emilie more.

In this fic, that difference is even wider. In C&L, Emilie is Gabriel's whole world and reason of being. He doesn't want to share her with anyone, even "their child".

Sadly, its because of this that there is nothing Adrien can do to really build a somewhat normal relationship with his father. Any 'misbehaviour' that Adrien does, accidental or not, is something that Gabriel will always view as a personal attack. Really, since he could never stop Emilie from doting on Adrien according to her whims, Gabriel doesn't stop himself from punishing Adrien on a whim either. And since Gabriel doesn't want to share a space with the other person vying for Emilie's affection, he tends to favour punishments that force Adrien out of sight.

But when you turn around all you see is Shifty all alone and frantically looking beside him

But honestly he's so stinkin cute how could you not go over and talk to him

The genuine love and tenderness of the moment almost makes you want to cry so of course you say it back

Y’all go on that hiking trail every year now

A conflict that arose and how y’all resolve it

Ok so y’all are out at a bar maybe with friends after the war

Shifty offers to get the next round of drinks, so he kisses you on the cheek before going up to the bar and ordering

You glance over to the bar after a little bit and see Shifty talking to a girl??

It’s clear she’s trying to put the moves on him, the giggling, the Touching His Arm In That One Way

And Shifty just… lets her?

He’s even laughing along with her jokes (which you can hear and they ain’t great)

You could NEVER picture Shifty doing something like this, but you have no other explanation for what your eyes are seeing

The conflicting feelings start to feel overwhelming so you tell your friends that you’re going to the bathroom before walking as quickly as you can toward the restrooms

Shifty notices your brisk pace and gets concerned cuz you look really upset?? What happened while he was gone??

He follows you to the hallway with the bathrooms and gently takes your hand

“Is everything alright love??” he says so gently but also so worried

You debate telling him what you saw

Like on the one hand he’s never given any indication he’s like that

But on the other he was CLEARLY flirting back???

He sees the anxiety in your eyes and his concern just Doubles

“Sweetheart what’s wrong??” he gently places his hands on your arms while he waits to hear your response, praying he can fix whatever it is

“...why were you flirting with that girl?” you asked in a barely audible voice, tears welling up in your eyes

Suddenly Shifty’s facial muscles scrunch up

“Flirting? You mean with that girl at the bar?”

He laughs a little and shakes his head

“I was trying everything I could to get away from her, but I was waiting on the drinks and I didn’t want to be mean…”

You just breathe a sigh of relief and shake your head, relief washing over you

You both start laughing quietly before you plant a kiss on his lips

Yeah the kitchen was an absolute war zone

Cake batter everywhere, egg shells on the floor, flour sticking on every surface

Shifty sees you and quickly hops off the counter to hug you before he remembers the discombobulated state he is in

He just sheepishly smiles at you and says, “happy birthday??”

It was the most fun you’ve ever had cleaning up the kitchen

Your heels clacked on the tile floor brusquely as you made your way back to your office, over in Surveillance. You carried a stack of paperwork that had to be sorted through—and on Grace Mallory’s desk by end of day today.

Your hair was falling out of its loosening bun, and you tried in vain to blow a piece of it out of your face. The elevator on the opposite end of the hall dinged. The doors opened, and out came your boyfriend, strutting into the hall in his supe suit.

You smiled. “Wow, that was quick. You caught Metallo?”

“Being booked with bendy straws for arms as we speak,” Ben replied with a cocky smile. He headed toward you down the hall. “Gonna grab a bite to eat. Care to join?”

You raised a brow at bendy straws for arms. He really needed to work on how badly he roughed up these supes when bringing them into custody.

“Can’t right now,” you said, gesturing with your eyes to your workload. “But I’ll let you know when I’m ready to head home, if you want to wait for me.”

While you spoke, Ben was busy taking in your white blouse, the dark red lipstick, the pencil skirt, the sexy little heels. It was straight out of one of his fantasies…

Maybe you’d be down for a round of sexcretary after work. His lips curved at the thought.

But then, he remembered how you’d got him to accidentally shatter a nice crystal wine glass the other night, and it got him contemplating some retribution.

“All right. See you then, baby doll,” he said mildly.

When he finally reached you, he gave you a nice smack on the ass as he passed by.

You jolted with a wide-eyed yelp. Ben smirked at the sound.

He’d gotten you with a little more force than he thought though, as it made you lose your grip on your files. They flew from your hands and scattered onto the floor.

You twisted back to meet him with a glare. Ben’s hand clenched and curled back…

Then he gave you a sly grin.

“Payback’s a bitch, ain’t it?”
