“Hide...!” Kaneki jolted awake with a shiver. Dried semen covered his thighs and the bed beneath him, images of him being railed by the blonde boy were still fresh in his mind.

Another dream.

That was the second wet dream he'd had about his friend Hide. He always liked Hide, but he just couldn't confess. Especially now. Hide would never love Kaneki, he was a ghoul. In the eyes of everyone, ghouls were nothing but cold blooded killers.

Kaneki held his head in his hands, the thought of Hide hating him was unbearable. He could never tell Hide about it. The 19 year old omega slid out of bed and sauntered into the bathroom.

After cleaning up, he went back to his room and changed his bedsheets, shoving the crispy bedsheets into the washer. Kaneki heard banging on his front door, making his tiny heart skip a beat.

“KEEEEEEN!!!!” Hide screamed from outside, banging his fist on Kaneki's door.

As soon as Kaneki opened the door, Hide burst through the door, slamming his hands down on Kaneki's shoulders and shaking him back and forth.

“Where have you been! You haven't been at school for a week!” Hide cried as he was shook Kaneki violently. “You know I can't handle being alone!”

“I–I'm sorry Hide...” Kaneki whimpered, shaking his head lightly. “I just haven't been feeling well...”

“Are you feeling better...?” Hide asked, a concerned expression on his adorable face.

“I'm feeling better...” Kaneki said, a light blush dusting his cheeks as he tried to remain eye contact with Hide. “Probably won't be going back to school yet...”

“Do you need anything?” Hide asked, gripping Kaneki's shoulders tightly. Kaneki blushed, he loved it when Hide showed concern for him, it made him feel wanted, it made him feel... Loved.

“I'm fine, Hide...” Kaneki muttered, playing with the strings of his eye patch.

“Do you wanna stay? We can read together or... Whatever you'd like...” Kaneki shifted on his feet, feeling his cheeks get warmer. “I'd appreciate it if you stayed...”

“Of course!” Hide said and slung his arm over Kaneki's shoulders and held him close. “I'll stay here and make sure you make a speedy recovery!”

Kaneki's face turned red as he looked at Hide. “Y-yeah...”

Kaneki leaned against Hide's chest, sitting neatly between Hide's crossed legs. They were reading"Seven Days in June" which was Kaneki's favorite romance novel.

Kaneki stared at the vertical lines of Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana that formed words that feed into his mind as Hide read them aloud. Kaneki began to invision himself and Hide in the scene.

Kaneki and Hide. Sitting together on a red and white checkerboard blanket on the grass, a nice lunch of small finger foods laid out meticulously and gracefully along the blanket's surface. Sandwiches, cookies, berries. Hide tenderly stroking Kaneki's hair as the laid together on the blanket. Pink cherry blossoms fluttering slowly around them like gentle spring rain. “You awake...?” Hide asked, tenderly stroking Kaneki's cheek.

“Kaneki?”

“Kaneki...?”

“Kaneki!”

Kaneki jolted, being forcibly thrown from his thoughts. He blinked, letting his eyes readjust to the low like of the lamp on his bedside table. The sun was low in the sky.

“Are you awake?” Hide asked.

“Yes... I was just daydreaming...” Kaneki said softly, lifting his head from Hide's chest. “Your reading was very soothing, it allowed my mind to wonder a bit...”

“Hide...?” Kaneki blushed, looking into Hide's eyes. “I h-have to tell you something, it's really important...”

“What is it, Ken?” Hide said with a smile.

“I–I'm...” Kaneki slowly slid his fingers under the elastic strings of his eye patch, carefully taking it off. Red veins spread from his eye as he opened it to reveal a pitch black eye with a piercing crimson red pupil in the center. “I'm a ghoul...”

Hide stared at Kaneki for a bit before a tender smile spread across his face with a soft chuckle. “I already know!”

“You... Already know?” Kaneki's eyes widened as he stared at Hide with shock.

“Yes... I already know...” Hide said, resting his hand on Kaneki's cheek, using his thumb to gently pull Kaneki's ghoul eye closed.

“And, I know another thing...” Hide muttered, resting his other hand on Kaneki's opposite cheek.

“W-What is it?” Kaneki asked.

“I know that you love me...” Hide muttered, pressing his forehead against Kaneki's. Kaneki's eyes managed to widen even more as his face turned bright red with embarrassment.

“How did you know?!” Kaneki whimpered, covering his face with his hands. Hide gently pulled Kaneki's hands away from his face and kissed his forehead.

“Because... I love you...” Hide smiled. Hide kissed Kaneki on the lips, tenderly wrapping his arms around Kaneki's waist.

“Do you... Are you gonna be my alpha...?” Kaneki asked, looking up at Hide.

“Of course...” Hide said, pressing another kiss on Kaneki's lips.

5) weird headcanon

Shuu would be soooo lactose intolerant if he was a human. I get that he would be half european and should be able to eat it but shhshsh he CANNOT have milk. He’d still stand and lick ice cream from the cone whilst looking so beautiful at the dock by a lake on a summer’s afternoon, though

ALSO Hide used to eat his boogers until he was 10. And if Rio was human he would have a strange obsession with bananas and would eat them at least twice a day (he can tell you the entire history of the banana plant and how bananas are traded across the globe alongside a very wide variety of recipes from memory).

9) which character had the worst use?

I haven’t read the manga in a while, but I vaguely remember a firefighter guy being introduced in :re as the cousin of one of the other more important CCG dudes and then being immediately killed after a couple pages, so I would have to say that guy. He was really pointless.

I think this might mean characters who were wasted, though? I’m not really sure. Maybe Amon towards the end of the manga since I can barely remember him doing anything after being turned into a ghoul outside of a chat with Kaneki and being broken out of a tube. They could’ve just let him die? But again, I’ve only ever fully read :re once and that was a very long time ago. So apologies if I can’t answer some of these very well.

14) which death made you cry?

I’M SORRY BUT NO CHARACTER DEATH IN HISTORY HAS EVER MADE ME CRY. I’m an alpha male, we don’t have emotions 💪 but I did come pretty close with Kaneki. For some reason I confused :re as an alternate storyline as Kaneki in the CCG instead of being a sequel, so when he died in the OG manga I genuinely thought he died for real. Which I was very upset about. Yet somehow I still didn’t cry? I have cried over Kaneki when rereading or just while thinking about him, though. Sometimes it was tears of joy and sometimes it was over what he’d been through, mostly it was just me making up bad scenarios. I’ve also gotten teary over Shuu because I just wanted to be his friend So So Bad. So while the source material can’t really hurt me, I know I can always depend on myself to 👍

“Okay, so let me get this straight,” Hide rubs the bridge ofhis nose while closing his eyes. Why are these men so acclimated for themornings? It’s not even seven yet, and they’ve already given Hide a migraine. “Youroldest brother, Ken, whom is the leader of the notorious gang, Aogiri Tree, hasbeen released from prison?”

“Yes.” Shiro nods.

“He was sent there for manslaughter, so his time thereshould’ve been a minimum of thirty-five years?” Hide continues.

“Well, yes and no. Sometimes it can be ten years when otherfactors are put into play.” Haise holds his chin in thought.

“So, he weaseled himself into getting less time in prison.”Hide states.

“Pretty much, yeah.” Kaneki nods, pushing his glasses up totheir proper place on his nose.

“So, to put it simply, he’s a dangerous man.” Hide puts hishands on his hips.

“Very dangerous.” Shiro confirms.

“And you want to give him a home here?” Hide arches a brow.

“Yes.” They say at once.

“… Well it was nice living with you all. I’ll leave my halfof the rent on the kitchen counter. You can wipe my credentials off your phoneand stay clear from my family.” Hide goes to the desk in the living room andopens a drawer. He pulls out his checkbook and a pen and gets to work.

“Hey. Hey. Hey. None of that, okay?” Haise plucks the checkbookfrom Hide’s hands. “I thought you liked, Ken? You did when you were younger. Hewas your favorite in fact.”

“Yeah. You used to go to him for help instead of me orHaise.” Kaneki crosses his arms. “Whether it was a nightmare or bullies, youalways went to Ken. Hell, you made him a flower ring and made him promise tomarry you when you both grew up.”

“That was so long ago! That was before he turned out the wayhe did!” Hide’s face is red. He tried to forget that.

“Come on. You know he wouldn’t hurt you.” Kuro rubs Hide’sback.

“But I’m an omega now. What if-“

“He may be the leader of a gang. He may have killed somepeople, but Ken has a code he lives by. He would never put his hands on you.”Kaneki says seriously. “Not without your consent.”

“Yeah. Why do you think he killed that man in the firstplace and got sent to jail? That man tried to kidnap you, so Ken went all out.”Shiro points out. “Ken loves you like we do.”

“Ken is like a knock off version of Deadpool.” Hide mumblesunder his breath.

“Yes, and you’re his Spider-Man.” Haise pats Hide’s head.

“Fine, but I’m not going to act like I like him or anything.I probably won’t even talk to him.” Hide pouts.

“That’s fair.” Haise smiles and goes to the kitchen. “He’llbe here soon. I’ll get started on breakfast. You get washed up.”

“He’s already on his way!?” Hide panics.

“You don’t expect him to sit andwait at the jail, do you?” Shiro chuckles. Hide just whines and storms to thebathroom.

Hide takes his time in the shower. He lets the warm waterease the tension in his muscles. The blond picks up his personal favorite bodywash and gets to work. The sand exfoliating body scrub strips away the deadskin and makes his body all smooth. Hide uses Haise’s favorite shampoo to spitehim. The omega uses Kaneki’s favorite conditioner for the same reason. Also, he’llsmell like them, so it’s a huge plus.

When the shower starts to run cold, Hide reluctantly turnsoff the water. He reaches through the curtains for the towel. Once acquired,Hide wipes down his body and then ties said towel around his waist. The omegathen grabs another towel and scrubs his hair dry.

Hide opens the bathroom door, and steam wafts out and intothe rest of the apartment. He can smell an assortment of foods from the kitchen.He hears the alphas bickering with each other about what else they should makeand who gets to sit next to Hide at the table. The blond can’t help but smile.

He moseys to his bedroom and gets dressed. He’s not sureexactly what he should wear. Should Hide wear something nice or something casual?It’s just Ken, and it’s not like Hide needs to really impress him. Casual itis. Hide drops the towel around his waist on the bed and opens his dresser. Hegrabs a pair of boxers and is in the middle of putting them on when he hearssomeone whistle.

“Wowee, baby boy. You grew into a fine piece of ass.” A deepvoice praises from behind Hide. The omega spins around and his breath catchesin his throat. “Little man could use some work though.”

Hide yelps and quickly finishes putting on his underwear.

“I don’t see the point in covering up. I’ve seen it all now.Let me finish studying that bod, so I can draw it later. Don’t worry, I wouldn’tuse it for anything more than stress relief.” Ken smirks.

The alpha is leaning against the doorway with his shoulder.His arms are crossed, and his shoulders are broad. Ken has gotten much tallerand his build more defined. He didn’t waste time in prison, that’s for sure.Ken’s hair is a bit longer now. It’s brushing against his shoulders. He could probablyput it back into a small ponytail if he tried.

“Don’t you know to knock?” Hide asks, irritated.

“Sorry. Can’t say that I do.” Ken’s smirk only grows wider.

“I suggest you brush up on it.”

The two stare at each other in silence before Ken pushes offfrom the doorway and walks towards Hide.

“You’ve gotten taller.” Ken observed. “Have my littlebrothers been treating you well?”

“Yeah.” Hide answers, not taking his eyes off of Ken in casehe tries to pull something.

“Why are you acting so cold? I thought you’d love to see me.”Ken gives puppy eyes.

“Yeah, well, people change.”

“Indeed, they do.” Ken’s eyes soften. There’s another beatof silence before Ken turns away. “I came to tell you that breakfast is almostready. Hurry and get dressed.”

The alpha exits the room without waiting for Hide torespond. Hide lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. He tries tocalm down his sprinting heart. Ken is unpredictable. Hide doesn’t know what toexpect from him. What were the others thinking, letting Ken live here? He’sgoing to bring his problems here. Their lives are at risk now, aren’t they?

“Also, about that drawing thing, I was joking. My art skillssuck ass.” Ken pops his head in the room. A pillow smashes into the alpha’sface.

“Would you get out!” Hide shouts.

Kaneki loved Hide more than he ever thought possible, yet there were times that his mate could act a tad bit childish. Now was sadly one of those times, “I thought you said you wanted to go? If you really don’t want to I can pick out some clothes by myself.”

He silently noted that if he did that he would have to call Touka and ask her to make sure nothing happened while he was out. Not that he didn’t think Hide could take care of himself, he was the smartest person Kaneki knew and he had fought alongside him enough times to know that he was a force to be reckoned with.

However, that was before Hide became pregnant and while Kaneki knew that he was still strong, he didn’t ever want to see how far his limit was. He was brought out of his thoughts by Hide holding up his trusted notebook, I don’t trust you to buy my clothes. I have a very distinct style that I must preserve.

Kaneki couldn’t help but smile at the sign but before he could respond a new note was being hastily written, some of my stuff still fits. We can go later. Kaneki let out a breath, Hide had said the same thing two weeks ago and it was now clear that something was going on.

“Hide your shirts barely fit you as it is and I’ve seen what you do to put on pants, the longer we wait the worse it’ll get.” Kaneki hadn’t thought his observation could be considered rude to someone nearing their forth month of pregnancy but at the look of hurt the other wore he immediately regretted it.

As Hide wrapped his arms around his expanding stomach Kaneki started forward, “I didn’t-mean I’m sorry. There was a moment of silence that enveloped the two before Hide reached for his notebook, I know.

It looked like he was going to write more but he stopped and showed the page with a small smile, Kaneki still felt like he should be asking for forgiveness but knew that it only upset Hide when he did.

Moving to sit with the omega he tried to figure out how to phrase his next question without forcing Hide to tell him. As usual Hide could guess what the other was thinking and wrote something on the notebook only to cross it out and flip to a new page, the heat.

Realization crashed into Kaneki and he felt guilt begin to seep in, it was still hot outside which made layers stifling. Which meant that Hide’s scars would on show for the world to see. There were times that Hide was comfortable with them but when he was feeling even a bit self-conscious he would cover himself in layers, Kaneki scolded himself for not paying closer attention to his mate's feelings up till now.

Hide swallowed and obviously tried to perk himself up with a smile, must be hormones acting crazy. Happens all the time nowadays. Kaneki knew that Hide was trying to sweep away his own feelings and the alpha felt his emotions struggle against each other, the urge to comfort him competed with the instinct to let him open on his own time argued with each other.

Finally, Kaneki settled to wrapping his arms around the omega and hoped that what he couldn’t convey in words would still come across through actions. It seemed to work as Hide leaned into his chest and wrapped scarred arms around a muscular back, they stayed like this for a few minutes before breaking apart.

Hide’s smile seemed this genuine this time around, though if anything Kaneki’s guilt seemed to have magnetized at seeing how distraught his mate was without his knowledge and Kaneki watched as Hide wrote in the notebook.

While he knew to wait to read the written words until Hide was ready to show him, his curiosity piqued however when a new page was needed. Finally, the blond was finished and Kaneki was handed the notebook, alright time to get motivated and buy some new clothes! Though I’m giving you a fair warning now, if there is something yellow I’m going for it.

Kaneki chuckled at the comment and nodded at the blond, “it is a part of your very distinct style after all.” Hide nodded and gave a small hum in agreement before something appeared to occur to him and he wrote it down quickly, pretty sure Yoriko said she and Touka were going to the mall today.

Kaneki never knew how Hide could catch everything that Yoriko said but he knew that Hide was always paying attention. “Maybe we’ll see them there.” Hide flashed him a smile before moving to get up, waving away a helping Kaneki.

Finally the two were ready, though when Kaneki looked at what the other was wearing it was obvious that they had waited last minute for this excursion, that said he couldn't help but feel an odd flutter of happiness at seeing the growing bump that housed their unborn child.
