It was stupid, your little crush on the lead paleontologist at the dig site. You were the site manager, in charge of ensuring everything ran smoothly. Really you were just a Business 101 teacher, but Dr. Alan Grant himself requested that you manage the site. How could you say no? Your break room crush wanted you all the way out in the badlands of Snakewater, Montana with him. Okay, maybe not just him but there's something here, right? You've known each other for years, you sit in on his lessons when you're not teaching. He smiles when he sees you enter the room. You could only hope there's something special.
For now, you sit in the teacher's tent reading some papers that were dropped off with the food for the week. Dr. Sattler, the lead paleobotanist, was making some food for herself. A cup of tea sat on the table in front of you, occasional sips being taken. You heard footsteps move past you outside the tent. It was a light stomping & slow, it was Alan, & boy did he need coffee.
"Morning, Alan," you spoke the moment he grabbed at the tent's curtain door.
Alan was taken aback a little, shaking his head before pinching his nose, "Good morning, Y/N."
It was cute, the way he stumbled to the coffee machine. It was already on considering Ellie used it. He lazily pressed each button, rubbing his face with both hands afterward.
"Rough night, Dr. Grant?" You spoke, a teasing edge on your voice.
Alan froze for a split second before speaking, "How did you know?"
"Is it not obvious?" Your reply caused him to turn around, coffee now in hand.
Alan turned to Ellie with a confused look, to which she responded, "Looks like normal Alan to me."
"Well, I did have a rough night. I tweaked my back near the end of the day yesterday, sleeping was hell."
The dark circles under his eyes were becoming obvious. You couldn't help but pout a little in response. It would be weird to offer a massage. He's just a work friend.
"Well try to rest today," you suggested with a reassuring smile.
He waved off your suggestion, figuratively & literally, "No, no, some of the students found a really good fossil with that computer thing. It would be a shame to miss out on that, & I can't let them mess up such a beautiful fossil."
You stood up from the table & set the papers down, "Well I'm all caught up on work on my end. Mind if I come with you? Tap a few bones with a chisel maybe?"
Alan looked down & chuckled at your statement before shaking his head once more & looking up. A cheery sigh escaped him as he looked into your eyes.
"There is much for you to learn about paleontology, Y/N."
You were standing across from Alan as he was sprawled out on the ground, brush in hand, lightly brushing dirt away. You didn't notice the dopey smile you had on your face till Alan looked up at you, a chuckle escaping his lips.
"What?" You asked, laughing & putting your hands on your hips.
"You're standing around lookin' cute, I thought you were going to join me in the dirt," he teased back.
You both blushed. Not that either of you noticed the other was freaking out just as much. Alan couldn't believe he was so forward &, frankly, you couldn't gather that he might actually have feelings for you. You quickly turned around to hide your blush, Alan's heart sinking. You turned back around, with equal speed, brush in hand. You kneeled down on the dirt, leaning on your elbows & finding yourself in a similar position to Alan. You began brushing the dirt away. You tried to sneakily watch Alan to see if you were doing it right. His brows were furrowed as he brushed at the bone in front of him.
"Dr. Grant! I brought the supplies from this week's dropoff!" A student called out, a pile of boxes high enough to block their vision was shaking in their arms.
You couldn't help but freeze as the kid stepped towards the site. A few more steps & he'd surely step on the bones, inevitably freaking out & accidentally dropping everything. He'd be dead by dawn if Alan had anything to do with it. Luckily, Alan intervened early, shooting up quickly to stop the kid. A groan escaped him as he reached his hands out.
"James, the table is this way!" He tried not to sound too upset.
"Sorry, Dr. Grant!" James apologized as he turned towards the aforementioned table.
Alan's right hand darted to his back, applying pressure as best he could. You stood up slowly, noticing Alan's attempt at hiding the pained grimace on his face. You began walking towards him as he gripped his hat on his head, crushing it between his fingers.
"Professor!" Your focus was drawn to someone shouting your title, considering you were the only non-doctor here, "You got some faxes, the receipts from today need to be revised & sent to the school!"
You realized now it was your assistant calling out, a student volunteer getting work experience in the weirdest of locations. You thanked them as you grazed a hand over Alan's back.
"Please rest," you whispered to him as you walked away.
As you went off to do your work, it was Alan's turn to freeze. He may be good under pressure, when deadlines are coming, or even when dinosaurs think he would make a perfect midnight snack; But god did he feel absolutely helpless under your touch. He felt himself leaning into the touch & now he was stuck in this awkward bent hip position. He sighed as he adjusted his posture, convincing himself that it wasn't your touch that suddenly made the pain go away. Coincidence, he'll call it. He got back into an uncomfortable position, determined to get a good look at this fossil by nightfall.
By the time you left your "office" tent, it was dark. You looked towards the dig site to see some floodlights pointed towards the fossil. A couple eager students, & likely, Dr. Alan were hard at work. Dr. Sattler would soon come to end their fun & make sure the students got their 8 hours of rest in. You decided bed sounded much more comfortable than attempting to get them to sleep anyways. You opened the door to your trailer, letting it shut behind you. You toed off your shoes & took off your button-up & pants, changing into less dusty clothes before climbing into bed. You gave it one last good stretch before plopping onto your bed. You got comfortable, adjusting a couple pillows before feeling right.
A couple knocks hit your door, "Y/N, are you awake?"
Alan was trying to be quiet in case you were asleep but you could tell he needed to see you. You stood up slower than usual, you were tired after all, & opened the trailer door. Alan's arms twitched up slightly, he retracted them.
"Can I-"
You interrupted him, "Of course."
Alan's arms darted around your waist. From his place, a step below you on the trailer stairs, his head reached the crook of your neck. He nestled into place quickly, as if you had done this a million times. In reality, you & Dr. Grant had hugged once.
That time he hadn't asked, he knew he caught you off guard & he beat himself up about it ever since. It was his first day back on campus after he mysteriously left for an island with Dr. Sattler. You had come in to check on him after your classes, which happened to be late that night, & found him in his office. He was hunched over his work, head in his hands. The office door was left ajar, maybe he was still running office hours? Nonetheless, you pushed the door open slightly & knocked as you did so. You seemed to scare the life out of him. He jumped back & out of his seat, throwing papers into the air with him.
He yelled something barely intelligible, sounding maybe like, "GET BACK!"
"Alan! It's me, Y/N," You tried to calm your colleague as you walked toward him, his eyes were going everywhere but in your direction.
You managed to get a couple feet in front of him, his hand was clutching his chest & his breathing was beyond fast.
"Alan, I need you to take deeper breaths," You spoke as you reached out to touch his hand, "Please."
Finally, his eyes met yours, your hand wrapping around the one that held his chest so tightly. The genuine look of concern in your eyes grounded him. He looked around the room to see he was safe in his, albeit, now messy, office. Without thinking he scooped you into a hug. You were shocked at first by the sudden movement, your hands took a moment to find their place. In the moment, Alan didn't process that he caught you off guard, that would haunt him later. Right now, you were the one thing making him know he was safe, & holding you felt right. He had barely spoken to you before this. You were another teacher in the giant school that was U of M. But in the few times he's spoken to you, he's fallen hard. It surprised him that you stopped by, he was hoping you weren't there to ask him about Jurrasic Park.
You never did, & after that night you were always around. You sat in on his lessons & he even sat in on yours on the rare occasion. You offered to talk to him about whatever happened if he ever wanted, he never did. Alan was stubborn that way, he didn't like talking about feelings.
So you'd be lying if you said it didn't shock you when Alan asked to come into your trailer late that night. He sat down on the "kitchen" chair & looked up at you, pulling his hat off & setting it in his lap. His eyes quickly decided looking at the floor was more comfortable.
"Sorry, if I'm intruding, I had a rough day."
"You're not intruding, Alan, you never are," you tried to find eye contact but there was none, "You want to talk about anything?"
A long moment of silence sat between you. Alan was clearly fighting himself on something. Finally, a sigh escaped him.
"Do you remember... that night in my office?"
He didn't have to explain, of course, you knew, "Yes."
"It happened again, last night."
"I'm so sorry, Alan."
"Don't be," He had a clear train of thought & you couldn't break it, "I fell & hurt my back, I was terrified. I wanted to run to you but the fear that something was outside kept me trapped."
He wanted to run... to you?
"I've been in so much pain all day," he continued, "& it felt so isolating to keep last night to myself, bad isolating. When you just knew something was wrong-"
Alan stood up & took your hands in his, his eyes found yours just as quickly, "How did you know?"
"You looked, not like you, if that makes sense. I just knew."
Alan's hands darted to the sides of your face but yet again, froze. His eyes were filled with determination & fear. You weren't scared. You lifted your hands to guide him. His hands now resting on each side of your jawline. In the silence, Alan lightly traced a line across your cheek with his right thumb. You gave him the smallest of nods, looking deep into his eyes. Alan pulled you in for a deep kiss, a sigh escaping him when you kissed back. In a moment, you were separated again.
"Mind if I stay the night?" Alan spoke softly.
"I would love that."
A/N: This took me so long & I can't believe I didn't get burnt out. I am so happy with this.

Loud. That was all that Ellie could register at this point. Her vision began to blur, whether it was from the impending tears or the impending dizziness, she couldnโ€™t tell. Probably both. She wanted to press the palms of her hands to her ears, try to block out the booming voice. She hated when he did this. Her husband would come home from work and just go off on her. Just start yelling. It would be like that off and on the entire evening. She would put her best foot forward and greet him with a smile, and she would get berated. She would have his laundry folded and put away, and still get shouted at. She would serve him dinner and still get screamed at.
Ellie wasnโ€™t surprised that heโ€™d start going off on her, but deep down she always hoped that he would just come home one day and stop all together. Tragic right? But everyday, her husband would come home and heโ€™d fall back into that all familiar pattern of hollering. Shock was the first thing sheโ€™d feel. Then came the anger coursing through her veins like a lit fuse. But every time the anger would be quickly pushed aside by fear, worry, and guilt. The fear lived in her mind, he had a talent for cultivating that in her. Heโ€™d put the fears of failure, and abandonment, and neglect, and anything that would hook the woman into her mind. The worry lived in her body. Tremors were something she was accustomed to, a result of the amount of worry weighing on her shoulders. The guilt lived in her gut and in her throat. And he knew how to ramp those up oh so well.
He made her feel so stupid. According to him, Ellie did nothing right. For the 17 years of their marriage, she couldnโ€™t do a single thing right. According to her husband, she was incompetent. She felt her knees start to get weak, start to shake and she felt a lump in her throat. She couldnโ€™t look him in the eyes as tears began to flow. She hated crying in front of him. Heโ€™d just laugh at her, or worse, heโ€™d completely ignore it. She hated his condescending, commanding, demanding tone. It shook her to her core. It made her feel so small. It made her not dare say a word back to him. He always had the last word. Always.
After a while, all the yelling blurred together. Ellie knew what he liked to continually say. Why canโ€™t you be a better wife?! You are such a disappointment! Youโ€™re lucky Iโ€™ll take you, no one else would have someone like you!! And whatever bullshit he could get her to believe. She managed a shallow breath as terrified chills ran down her spine. She was frozen. She was always frozen. She tried to focus on the goodโ€ฆ At least he wasnโ€™t hitting her. On bad days, he could get physical, and today, from what she could gather, seemed like a day where he just wanted to let off some steam yelling wise. But it was hard to tell. It was hard to expect what heโ€™d do. And that terrified her.
By the time Ellie managed to get away from his grasp for the night, she was shaking as she stood outside fumbling with the keys to the minivan. She drove with a pit in her stomache. She knew sheโ€™d have to return. She knew she didnโ€™t have that long. She just drove and drove, unsure as to where exactly she was headed. Until she reached a line of apartments. She managed to get out of the car as she staggered through the halls. Her ears were still ringing. Her vision still blurred. Her body trembled. She walked up to the door of a particular apartment that practically looked abandoned. She anxiously fidgeted at the doorway, unsure if this was a good idea. There was no going back if she did this. With the last bit of strength in her, she knocked on the door. Alan Grant opened with a soft smile that quickly contorted downwards at the sight of the woman.
โ€œEllie?โ€
โ€œItโ€™s Georgeโ€ฆโ€ she stammered, breathless, dazed, and confused.
Ellie didnโ€™t know what else to say. She didnโ€™t know how else to explain driving across town and showing up at her friendโ€™s house at such an ungodly hour. Where was she supposed to start? What was she supposed to say? She hadnโ€™t thought that sheโ€™d get this far. But something seemed to register with Alan, a resonating glint in his eye allowed the broken woman to sigh in relief.
โ€œI see. Please come in.โ€
Somehow Alan always understood. He led Ellie inside, guiding her to take a seat before providing some light snacks and refreshments for the poor woman to catch her breath. While Ellie was still vibrating with nerves, she found comfort in her old friendโ€™s presence. She didnโ€™t know much, but what she did know was that talking to Alan was the right thing to do. Alan would understand.

Unable to just sit at your desk and wait, you suddenly stood. Grabbing your jacket and clipping on your utility belt, attaching your walkie-talkie, flashlight, extra batteries, pocketknife, and small granola bars, before grabbing your gun out of your desk. Checking the clip, you put on the safety and put it in your pocket. You prayed that you didn't have to use it. It would break your heart to have to kill one of the beautiful but monstrous creatures. They were your life. But, you had to do what you had to do.
Double checking the babies, you set the locking system up and grabbed your keys. Walking to the front of the building, you opened the doors and stepped outside. The wind howled and the rain poured down, soaking you instantly and sending cold shivers through your spine. You headed to the small garage off the side of the building, wary of the outside and the possibility of dinosaur escapees. You were pretty far from most of the enclosures, so you had some time before they traveled to you.
Entering the code into the pad on the garage wall, the door slowly slid up, revealing your second pride and joy, your four-wheeler. You walked in and climbed aboard, grabbing the ignition key and turning it. The engine roared to life, and you hit the gas, heading to the T-Rex sector. The rain pelted you as you raced towards the enclosures. Pushing up your glasses, you cursed at the rain. It was already hard to see in the dark but the rain splashed against your glasses made it worse. It took a while, but you finally got to the enclosure, luckily not running into any dinosaurs.
At the T-Rex enclosure, you stopped, getting off of the four-wheeler. Looking around, you saw the one explorer, the broken electric fence, and the collapsed bathrooms. Rushing to Rex's enclosure, you peered down, hardly seeing anything other than the trees below. But, you had figured by the muddy tracks on the ground that the other car fell down there. Biting your lip, you hoped that no one was hurt or worse... Dead.
Going to the collapsed bathroom, you observed the damage, before you saw a hand sticking out of the mess. Rushing over and falling to your knees, you pushed the pieces of wood and giant leaves away to reveal Ian. Gasping, you noticed his leg was badly bleeding.
"Ian!" You cried, gently pulling him into your arms, cradling his head in your lap. "Are you even alive?" You asked him, but more to yourself.
Reaching out, you pressed two fingers to the side of his neck, feeling his steady pulse underneath your fingertips. He was alive and that's all that mattered.
"Ian! Okay, wake up. We have to get you out of here..."
"Hnn... Hah... Hm... Wha..." He stumbled over his words, opening his eyes slowly.
looking up, Ian smiled, "Hey, you're the cute doctor." He chuckled, wincing as he tried to sit up, but failed.
"Oh! Oh no, Ian. Your leg is badly injured," you gasped, leaning forward and placing a hand on his chest to stop him, "Your leg is bleeding a lot. It might be broken."
He winced, grimacing, "I'll live, Doc." He laughed weakly.
You frowned, "You will, but we need to get you somewhere where I can sterilize the wound. We don't want to get it infected."
He nodded, "Okay, sounds like a plan." He spoke, before slowly sitting up, gritting his teeth as you helped him up, holding him in your arms as he limped towards your four-wheeler.
Helping him onto the back of the wheeler, you grabbed onto the handles and started the engine. Ian wrapped his arms around your waist tightly, groaning from a striking pain in his leg.
"Hold on... It's going to be a bumpy ride."
Rain pelted down on your face as you raced back to the baby sector. quickly typing your code into the number pad and pressing your hand on the scanner, the large double doors opened, and you quickly helped Ian in. The enclosure was in an uproar as the babies looked out at you, jumping and running around. Helping Ian to a small cot, you quickly rushed to the restroom for the med kit. Quickly, you washed your hands before rushing back over, you kneeled in front of the cot and placed the kit on the floor. Opening the kit, you pulled out a small clean cloth, and glanced up to Ian.
"This whole process is going to hurt a bit, but I have to clean your leg and make sure... You know, infections and stuff." You stumbled over your last few words, it was hard to speak when he was looking at you.
"Alright, Doc." He chuckled, "Who knew you were also a human doctor."
You ignored him at the beginning, focusing on the task at hand. Taking a deep breath, you reached for his leg gently. Placing the cloth on where you presumed the cut or large gash was, Ian immediately hissing in pain.
"I'm sorry." You apologized, as you started to clean the blood and dirt from his leg. He winced again, before shaking his head.
"It's okay." He chuckled, "Just doing your job. My fault for letting the Rex chase me." He then groaned as you put slight pressure on the wound.
Looking up at him with wide eyes, your jaw dropped slightly, "You let Roberta chase you? Why?"
He shrugged his shoulders, "She was trying to get the kids. Hammond's grandkids." He frowned, wincing as you began to clean the wound with antiseptic.
"Ugh, alright, that hurts." He groaned, shutting his eyes tight. "She has a name?"
"Yeah, they all do. I named almost every single one of them."
Ian hummed again before groaning once more.
Reaching out with your free hand, you placed it on top of his tightly curled fist. His hand felt warm and soft, and you could feel the tension in his body ease. You cleared your throat and continued to clean the wound until you were certain it was clean.
"Can you stand?" You asked, and Ian tried to move his leg, only to wince again.
"No... No, I don't think I can." He painfully chuckled, somewhat lounging against the cot, holding his top half up with his arm.
You began to throw away the trash and mess, tossing what you could in the tin trash basket near your desk.
"That was very brave of you..." You began from your place next to the cot, "Distracting Roberta. I mean. It must have been very scary."
He shrugged, "It wasn't that bad. I had a cute doctor who fixed me right up." He chuckled, wincing as he tried to shift position. "Thank you, by the way."
"Thank me?" You asked, blushing from his comment, tilting your head slightly. "I just made sure your leg didn't get infected."
He sighed, "Well, saving my life. If you hadn't found me, I would be stuck there; under the remains of a bathroom hut."
"You're welcome." You chuckled, taking a deep breath. "But, I doubt you would've been stuck there forever. Ellie would've found you or John if I hadn't." Eyes wide suddenly, you grabbed your walkie talkie.
"I have to call John, let him know I found you."
Ian watched as you got up, pacing the room as you talked to John through the walkie talkie. As he watched, he couldn't help the smile that grew on his face. You were so adorable; making sure he was safe and the others were too. He could see you in his New York apartment, in the kitchen with him as you both cooked breakfast; wearing his clothes. He could see the two of you driving down the highway, wind blowing through your hair as you sang along to a song playing on the radio. He could see himself playing on his guitar, serenading you with a song he wrote just for you. Knocking himself out of it, Ian scolded himself and his mind.
"So, uhm... How long do you think we're gonna be here?" Ian asked, clearing his throat lightly.
You paused before speaking, "Once the power comes back on I believe. Or when John gets back to me about his plan. I have no idea what to do really about any of this. I never thought this would happen." You spoke, running a hand through your hair.
"Are we safe here?" Ian asked and you immediately nodded.
"Definitely, this is the baby sector. More security. Don't want the babies possibly escaping or someone trying to get in if they aren't part of the database." You told him, fixing the glasses on your face, "John, Henry, and I are the only ones with the code."
"Good." Ian nodded, "How many dinosaurs are in here?" He asked, sitting up on the cot, grunting slightly.
"Oh, about fifteen. Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Spinosaurus to name a few. Do you want to meet them?" You froze when Ian hesitated, his body stiffening.
"I won't bring out a carnivore. I'll bring our a baby Triceratops if that makes you feel better." You tried to reassure him, which Ian smiled up at you.
"That would be great," He said, tilting his head to the side slightly.
"Alright, I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." You laughed, and Ian smirked.
"I couldnโ€™t even if I tried, sweetheart."
Face feeling warm, you nodded, before heading to the back of the room, putting in the same code and waiting as the sliding doors opened, before walking in. Passing each baby dino, you found the baby Triceratops, placing your hand on the datapad as the glass door opened. Ian watched through the enclosures glass as you crouched down to pick up the tiny dinosaur. He couldn't hear you, but you spoke to the baby, cooing and holding it close to your chest.
You'd be good with kids, he observed.
Closing the enclosure, you walked back out with the baby Triceratops in your arms, who squirmed slightly in your arms. Sitting beside Ian, you looked up at him and back to the baby.
"This is Sarah. Sarah the Trisarahtops." You giggled, petting the baby's head. It was around the same size as an adult cat, its neck poking out of your arms, its legs resting on your lap. It looked up at you with big brown eyes, blinking slowly.
"Hi, Sarah." Ian laughed out, noticing the pun.
"You can pet her, she is the nicest out of her sisters. Not as sassy." You informed him, smiling as you stroked the baby's back.
Ian smiled, reaching a hand out to rub Sarah's head. She seemed calm enough as he did so, allowing him to rub her head.
~~~
As the hours went on, you began to grow tired, having put Sarah back in her enclosure only minutes ago. The poor baby had grown tired, and you were feeling the same. You were sure Ian was too, from the times he had yawned beside you. Yawning yourself, you rubbed your tired eyes.
"We should get some sleep... How does your leg feel?" You asked, turning your head to look at him.
He winced, "A little better. I just need to rest." He chuckled, "I'm surprised I haven't fallen asleep yet."
"Well, you've been through a lot, Ian." You spoke, pulling out a small bin from under the cot, pulling out a blanket for you and him.
"You can have the cot, I'll sleep in my chair." You spoke, but Ian shook his head.
"I don't want you to be uncomfortable." But, you answered by shaking your own head, unraveling the blanket and casting it over him.
"Nonsense, Ian. You have a broken leg. Don't want you to hurt yourself any further." You told him, leaning in closer to kiss his cheek. "Sleep well." You whispered, surprising yourself by being so forward, unraveling your own blanket and going to your desk, snuggling into your chair.
"Night." Ian murmured, feeling his face flush, his cheek burning hot from where your lips had softly caressed it.
Sighing, he closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep, but instead he began to replay the moments he shared with you today. You were kind, gentle, loving, caring. Ian soon realized that he was growing infatuated by you; falling in love. Though, he knew that he wouldn't have a chance. Ian slept off, not even knowing the time passed.
~~~
The next morning was rushed. John had called over the walkie talkie, informing you that the copter was ready at the landing bay. They were only waiting for you. Quickly, you knew what you had to do. Opening the heavy side doors, you watched as the brought sunlight shined, the tree's leaves swaying in the calm breeze. Opening each padlock, you stood by the exit, watching the curious baby dinosaurs wandered off into the forest ahead of you.
"Here, Ian." You told him, holding back your tears, "Let's get to the copter." You spoke, wrapping an arm around his waist to help him limp his way to the parked four-wheeler. He didn't answer, he didn't say anything at all. He didn't want his time with you to end. He knew once he got off the godforsaken island, you would all go your separate ways. Him to a hospital and then to New York, and you to who knows where.
With a soft groan, he lifted his head and looked down at you, seeing your red eyes and teary cheeks, "You okay?" He asked, raising a hand to gently wipe away a stray tear that had fallen down your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
"Yes. Yes, I'm fine." You reassured him, "Just excited about getting home. And, I am going to miss my babies... All grown up now I suppose."
He nodded, looking up at the sky. The birds were chirping happily, a beautiful sight to see. Hopping on the four-wheeler, you put the key in the ignition and turned it, starting the engine. With a flick of the wrist, you drove away from the baby sector and towards the helicopter bay. It seemed like such a short amount of time since Ian had met you, yet it felt like you'd known each other for much longer than that. There was this sort of connection between the two of you. You had felt it the moment he spoke up in the lab.
Reaching the helicopter, its blades quickly chopping the air, ready for take-off. You helped Ian into the copter, before hesitating. You turned back to the island. Your heart clenched as you remembered your time at the park, before you pushed the feeling away.
"Y/N!" Ian called out to you from the loud helicopter, you turned to him, seeing his hand out-reached. "Come on." He smiled at you, waving you over.
Taking his hand, you climbed into the helicopter, and took hold of a strap, watching as Ian did the same. As you sat down, the side doors shut, and the rotors began to spin faster, as you put on the headset. You looked out the window of the copter, reminiscing on the time you spent on the island. Taking care of the baby dinos and watching them grow up. You were going to miss them dearly. You were going to miss Ian terribly.
Sitting on the edge of your seat, you began to watch the scenery pass by you, hand still clutching Ian's. Soon, you saw the ocean up ahead, and you smiled, looking out the window of the copter.
"Only an hour and we'll get you to the hospital." You told him.
Ian furrowed his eyebrows, "We?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at you.
You nodded, "I don't think I can go home without knowing you are absolutely okay." You explained to him, "If... That's alright with you?" You mumbled, feeling your face flush.
"Of course..." He laughed, "What could be better than having you at my bedside?"
You smiled at him, leaning in and kissing his cheek. "You'll definitely need surgery. I'll be there when you wake up." You assured him.
"Well, as long as I have my favorite cute doctor, I'll do just fine." He joked, chuckling lightly.
You smiled at his words, "You will be." You told him, before taking a deep breath but you were interrupted, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are almost at the hospital. We ask that you remain seated until the doors open, and we are clear of the island." The pilot spoke over the system.
Ellie gave Alan a knowing look, which he returned.

The rhythmic beeps of Ian's heart monitor slowly woke him up. Glancing around the room, Ian focused his eyes, seeing the bright white walls and ceilings, and noticing the vase of Spring Lilies and Snowdrops on the bedside table. The room was quiet, aside from his heart monitor, which began to beat faster. He was alone. You were no longer with him. Had you decided to leave? To go somewhere else? Did he misunderstand your feelings? He didn't know what was happening anymore. He was confused and hurting, seeing his broken leg in a white cast.
Turning his head to the side, he let out a sigh of relief, there you walked in, face relaxed, holding two cups of water. Your hair was redone, framing your face perfectly. You smiled at him, walking over and setting the cup of water on the bedside table.
"Good morning, Ian." You spoke, voice soft.
Looking at the clock, you giggled, "Well, afternoon."
"I thought you left," Ian spoke, and you frowned slightly.
"I'm sorry you woke up and I wasn't here. I thought I'd go down to the cafeteria and get you some water for when you awoke, and a permanent marker for your cast." You explained, sitting down beside him on the bed, and handing him the cup of water.
Ian took the cup gratefully, taking a sip, the water clearing his dry throat. "You don't have to be sorry, sweetheart. I'm glad you're here." His words were genuine, his tone warm and inviting.
"I know." You smiled, laying your eyes on Ian's cast.
"Can I sign it?" You asked, pushing up the rim of your glasses nervously, and Ian imedenently nodded.
"Go right ahead. Been wanting my hero's autograph," Ian joked, his smile coming more naturally.
Giggling, you moved to the corner of the bed, your hands shaking as you reached out to touch the cast, placing a soft and steady hand on the cast, you pulled out the permanent marker and clicked it open. Biting your lip, you began to write a small massage on the cast, along with your number.
"What did you write?" He asked, unfortunately, unable to see what you had written.
"Mmm, it says: 'Thank you for not dying.'... And my phone number," You mumbled.
Ian chuckled lightly, "Your number?"
You sat back down on the side of the bed, nodding. "Mmhm, I thought you might need it."
A smirk on his face, Ian spoke, "Do you give your number to all dinosaur attack survivors?" He teased and you smirked right back.
"Only to my favorite cute doctors." You told him, winking playfully, leaning forward a bit.
Ian laughed lightly, "That sounds like me." Leaning in, he kissed your cheek, sending tingles through your body.
"You missed..." You mumbled, not able to finish.
"Me? Missed? I don't think so." He continued to tease and you gently hit him on the shoulder.
Ian let out a small 'ow,' holding his shoulder with his hand, "Wow, attacking a poor broken man. How dare you?" He jested, and you laughed, shaking your head.
"You're impossible."
"You were right though, sweetheart," Ian muttered, eyes glancing from your eyes to your lips and back.
"Aren't I always?" You whispered teasingly, Ian shaking his own head softly.
"I did miss." He spoke and you let out a soft 'oh.'
Leaning up slightly, Ian's lips gently brushed against yours, and you wasted no time closing the small gap. Pressing your lips together, you placed your hand on his cheek and the other over his quick-beating heart, pulling yourself closer, meeting his kiss with passion. You moaned softly as he deepened the kiss, not heart Ian's heart monitor going crazy.
Suddenly, a nurse rushed in, interrupting and embarrassing the two of you.
"Oh!" She stumbled, face flushed in her own embarrassment. "I thought something was wrong. Your heart monitor."
"Oh, I am great," Ian spoke quickly with a smile, as you stuffed your face into his shoulder. "Fantastic really."
The nurse blushed, "Well, if you're sure."
Pulling away from Ian, you turned to the nurse, "Thank you for checking up on him." You thanked her politely, and she smiled and left the room, leaving the two of you alone again.
"Where are we?" Ian asked, breaking the silence, finger twirling a strand of your hair between his fingers.
You leaned forward, only inches from him, feeling his breath on your lips, "I believe you were about to rest, while I cuddled up beside you until visiting hours were over." You finished, brushing his unruly curls from his forehead.
Ian grinned up adoringly at you, "Yes, I was planning on it."
You smiled shyly at him, "Well, good." You said softly, moving over to sit beside him on the bed.
He wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you close, and you laid your head on his chest. His heartbeat was slow and steady, and you felt it in your very bones, filling you with warmth and contentment.

Jay/Alan unrequited pinining
I think this is also for the headcanons for a ship thing because someone liked the halalan one like a second before this got sent.
I feel like Jay is probably straight. Jay and Rex are the straight JSAers and Alan is a fucking idiot that didn't notice he attended Al and Ted's wedding like 10 years ago.
But anyway Alan has also had a thing for Jay going back to the 40s, which has never really gone away, and he filled the void by having hate sex with Ted every other week (at least he did until Ted got married which makes him not noticing that even weirder).

"Oh?"
Shoko stared at you as you waved at her with a bright smile, brows raising in surprise as she took out a new smoke in the Shinjuku smoking area.
You made your way over to her, finding that she wasn't pushing you away. It was good to see a friend after a while, but you weren't too sure if you had that privilege anymore.
For you, you were testing the waters.
"Hey, Shoko." You took out a lighter from your pocket, one-handedly opening it for her to light her cigarette.
"Fancy seeing you here. You need something from me?" She glanced into your direction, taking a shallow inhale and extending her exhale.
You hummed in reply. "Just testing my luck."
"So, just to be sure, are the claims false?"
"Unfortunately, they're true." You could only bring yourself to shrug lightly, looking ahead. From your peripherals, you could see her taking out her phone to call the others.
"Just to be sure again: why?"
"I want to create a world where jujutsu sorcerers don't have to struggle." You didn't elaborate.
"Wow, that's funny!" Shoko laughed lightly, but there really wasn't anything humourous behind it. It was as if she was contemplating asking more. After all, everyone and everything struggles, so what is this righteous talk from you?
"Do you think I'm wrong?" You asked, hearing the faint ringing of her phone as she waited for one of the others to pick up.
"Right or wrong, it was dumb." Shoko didn't even hold back on her words, making you genuinely laugh at how frank she was, regardless had you been granted a bounty.
"Gojo, Geto, [name]'s here with me in Shinjuku." Gojo seemed to say something on the other side, but Shoko retorted, "No way! I don't wanna die." She hung up after conveying her message.
"So, what will you do now?" She turned to you, exhaling a puff of smoke into a ring above her head.
"I don't know. I might see you around, I guess." You took a step forward, facing her. "See you later, Shoko." You knew Gojo and Geto would be here at any moment, but you didn't know if you wanted to face them.
Shoko didn't say anything in response, just watching as the ashes fell from the cigarette between her fingers.
You didn't see, but it was the first time Shoko has made an expression where she was at a loss of what to do.
And, that was the last time you saw Shoko.
Tumblr media
"WAIT, [NAME]!" Satoru bellowed out to you as you walked away, in front of the KFC you all used to go to until recently.
He caught up pretty fast...where's Sugu? You sensed his curse energy, but you weren't sure where it was. As for Satoru, he was only a few metres away from you down the slope of the street.
You sighed inwardly, ready to face him. "'toru."
The nickname you usually call him by hurt him more this time around as he registered how unaffectionate your voice was, contrary to the usual. It was devoid of any emotion. Like you didn't care about what you left behind. Like you didn't care about him.
"Explain yourself, [name]!" He demanded, sunglasses further down his nose as he watched you with wide eyes full of emotions of all kinds, but you mainly picked out disbelief and anger.
"There's nothing else to say. You've heard from Shoko." You stated, watching the twitch in his face as he evaluated your dismissive answer.
"So you'll kill anybody who makes life hard for Jujutsu sorcerers? Both sorcerers and non-sorcerers?" Satoru's voice rose in anger.
After all, you did kill an elder a week ago. It was the one that'd been annoying you since forever, the one who tried to get you purposely killed each and every time you went on a mission. Killing him was much easier than you had imagined, though.
"Well, if natural selection isn't going to do anything, I might as well do it instead." You crack a light joke, but your words were serious.
"That's not what I'm asking! I thought you were against killing if there was no meaning to it?!"
"There's a meaning behind everything. A purpose, even."
"No there isn't! You want to make a world where Jujutsu sorcerers don't suffer? That's impossible!"
"Satoru's right, [name]." Geto spoke from behind you, his voice wafting through the air as he went to stand closer to Gojo as he faced you. "There's a purpose to everything, but there's a better way of doing things than say, homicide. Especially for us in the Jujutsu world."
You wanted to scoff. But, you couldn't, because you used to be that way, too. But everything ate away at you, and you just weren't the same person anymore with the same aligning morals. You chose to go down the path you've decided to go down, even if it meant deserting everything you knew before.
"Is it really impossible?" Your voice was light, but the lilt in it was undeniably laced with seriousness. "I wouldn't do this if there was a shred of impossible in it."
The alarm on their faces was really something.
"[name]...you'll need to fight us if you keep going down this path." Suguru spoke his words deliberately, slowly, like he was getting a child to listen to him. He was careful.
Satoru clenched his teeth and fists. He wanted to say that it was impossible yet again, that when you fight them, you'll lose. But, you knew that. You knew, so why?
"Wow, I'll get to fight the 2 strongest sorcerers!" You clapped your hands together once, a smile on your lips, one that didn't reach your eyes. "Maybe so, but you're not my targets. There's some smaller fish compared to you I must get rid of first."
"Why?" Geto voiced both Gojo and his thoughts, a quick glance at Satoru knew he wasn't going to be able to hold a proper conversation without shouting.
"Why?" You echoed his question. "Well, for starters, we're treated like shit, in both worlds regardless sorcerers or non-sorcerers. Do you remember? The elder I killed, he was truly one who deserved to die. The number of times he ignored protests, warnings and more...killing off our sorcerers one by one, do you really believe someone like him being alive is worth all that struggle? For him, he deserves to die for that alone."
Geto was about to open his mouth after a thought, but you interrupted him. "Also, he was a paedophile so he deserves everything that's come his way. The world needs none of those disgusting pigs."
You couldn't forgive him. You couldn't forgive such a disgusting creature existed. When you found out the information coincidently, you knew you had to do something about it.
The anger in your eyes was juxtaposed by the small smile on your lips, one that was almost proud of what you did.
Satoru couldn't contain himself any longer, "Yeah, he was a fucking piece of shit, but killing him? That's made you one of the sorcerers we've got to kill! You're to be executed on sight! You're a hypocrite, [name]. Are you trying to get all the sorcerers you want to protect to come kill you?"
You watched him as he heaved a breath, his eyes feeling heavy on your form as he tried to convey his distraught to you about the whole situation.
You barked out a laugh, a hand landing on your hip as you stared at him, no trace of the smile on your features anymore.
"Hypocrite?" The question lay on the tip of your tongue, before you let out a low chuckle, feeling your throat go dry. "Perhaps you're right; I am. I am a hypocrite who wants death as much as those geezers who send us out to kill ourselves."
"Oh, and you forgot one detail. I don't care about sorcerers and non-sorcerers at all. They're equally as bad as each other. The only difference is that sorcerers have the power to wield cursed energy and use it to destroy curses made up from the normie's emotions." You gave him a half lie. It was easier to push him away. Push him away so he won't be able to break the armour you've put up.
"And what of him dying? Are the elders going to retire themselves? Or will they KILL us sorcerers first?" Your voice became an octave higher as you emphasised words that made you emotional.
"After I kill them, you can then reform the society as you wish. You could probably kill them yourself, 'toru, but you won't take that step. That's why I'll take that step instead." You give him a crooked smile, "There's nothing here worth living for."
"Nothing worth living for?" Satoru repeated your words, taking off his sunglasses, watching you with his blue eyes, and you could see the monstrous waves of emotion behind them. "Are you fucking blind?"
Suguru glanced over at Gojo, hoping he didn't have to inject himself in between to stop it from escalating further.
"No, I am not fucking blind, Satoru!" A chip from your facade broke off, revealing a mess of emotions in the split second your voice broke. "Do you understand how suffocating it is living in this world? Where all your friends die in front of you, or there's a chance they'll die on their next mission? Where the strongest wins - and in this world, if the curses aren't the strongest, the sorcerers at their highest standing are!"
"You know I--" He began, but you cut him off.
"I know you hate them as much as I do! But I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of them, even if it means forsaking you all to do it." You almost sound like you're pleading by the end, your eyes starting to tear up.
"And after. When they're gone, you can reform the system, and control it in the way that works best for this generation." You force a smile to your lips, but it doesn't reach your eyes. "Someone has to be the bad guy, and I'm willing to play the role, even if I may die in the process."
"[name], this can be done differently--"
"I'm tired, Satoru. I've tried. I've tried, and I'm tired. Why don't you understand that?" You whisper, shaking your head. "Do you know how many times I've tried talking to the higher ups, or anybody for that matter? No, you don't. You've been on missions this whole time, so you don't know. Even Suguru doesn't know the full extent of it. Shoko knows a bit, but she's not one who can do much about it."
Suguru and Satoru were silent for a moment, their eyes on you as your expression gave away everything you wanted to say.
"I won't be there, but it's a sacrifice worth making if you all aren't in danger. I don't care about anything else." Your words were soft, soft enough for them to hear you, soft enough for you to hope to convince yourself it was the right way and you didn't make the wrong choice.
Satoru and Suguru were the strongest duo. But, before they were, they were your best friends, along with Shoko. But now? Were you still able to call them your best friends? Did you even have that privilege anymore?
But, this is the path you took. Even if it meant abandoning those that you held dear, it was all for them. The real truth to your purpose and change of heart was to make a world easier for them, and for you, and for everybody who came after you. You didn't want anyone else to experience what you have, and you were going to do whatever you can to make that a reality.
You didn't give a flying fuck about anything else other than your best friends, if you were being honest. If it meant that you won't be by their side anymore, it was a sacrifice you were willing to make.
"So, I won't stop. This world is absolutely fucked. Why save something that can't be saved no more? I'd rather go down fighting. Morals be damned."
Your eyes glistening with tears unshed, you press your lips into a genuine smile. The last genuine smile before giving them a wave, "I guess this is goodbye. The next time I see you, 'toru, Sugu, we'll be enemies."
You turned on your heel, ready to leave, but you felt the curse energy expand from behind you, like they were readying to attack.
But, you kept walking, and nothing happened.
Satoru's outstretched hand fell back down to his side as he swore a string of curses, the pain on his face evident as he watched your figure disappear in the crowd of people.
Suguru had half a mind to get one of his curses to follow you, but he knew you well enough that the curse would be killed the minute you felt his cursed energy, so he didn't even bother.
His clenched his hand into a fist, a bitter taste in his mouth. He remembered back to when he was in a similar situation to you, but you and the others managed to get him out of it. He felt saved, but now, seeing it happen to the very person who helped him, made him shatter inside.
Why did you help him, when you couldn't even help yourself with your own words? Why didn't you let them help you? Why didn't you let them know you were having a hard time? That this was what you were contemplating?
He would have listened. They would have listened. They always would.
He felt a cold shiver go down his spine as he watched the endless stream of pedestrians, ones he used to call 'monkeys' in his head, but when letting go of that thought, you were at the forefront of his mind. It was you who grabbed his hand, you who brought him back.
It was you.
But he wasn't able to bring you back. He wasn't able to bring back the one who had nowhere else to go. The one who didn't know what to do with their emotions. The one who got lost.
But would he really call you lost when you knew what you wanted to do, where you wanted to go?
Suguru knew you weren't malicious. At least, not originally. The essence of you, he knew, was someone who cared greatly. One who had their heart on their sleeve when talking about anything and everything, especially with them. He didn't worry about you because you were always ok. But, there were things you didn't tell them and they didn't know, because you never let that part see the light of the day.
The only thing that Suguru felt in his chest, was regret. Regret so raw he felt cold and numb.
Satoru muttered another string of curses, turning on his heel, "Let's go, Suguru." His voice was small, and he didn't want to say any more.
He pondered all the possibilities of you. But he couldn't make himself understand you like you understood him. Which is what made it even more painful.
Tumblr media
"I'm not as strong as you." Were words you once said to Satoru.
A forgotten conversation, one you started when he had come into your room even though the light was off, finding comfort in your presence. He wanted to sleep in the same bed or at least the same room, but you were still awake, sitting up in your bed and watching the stars and sky from your window.
Satoru didn't say anything as he climbed into your double bed, comfort filling his whole being from your calming scent alone. He wouldn't admit it, but it was one of his favourite places to be when he had turmoil in his mind.
"Yeah, you're weak." He mumbled, his face squished against the pillow as he faced you.
He could see the illuminated outline of your features from the moon, finding them captivating as he watched you with half-lidded eyes.
No, you're strong, were the real words he wanted to say. But, he had always called you weak, so he was going to continue. What harm was there?
You turn your head slightly, gazing at him with a soft smile. It was like you knew what he wanted to say, but didn't hold anything against him for saying the opposite of what he truly felt.
"You're right," You whispered. "I'm weak."
You went to close the curtains, slipping back into bed with Satoru as you closed your eyes, ignoring the gaze on you as you drifted off to sleep.
Satoru had a feeling those words were in reference to something else, but he had no idea what. He felt an invisible wall between you and him from the interaction just now, one that shouldn't be there lest he had his infinity on. But he never did unless in certain situations.
"You're plenty strong, [name]." He whispered this, bringing his finger to tap your forehead, before he also went to sleep.
You weren't asleep yet, so you heard his comment. It warmed your heart, the freezing depths of it wanting to thaw. It made you want to spill the inner turmoils of your mind, but you were scared it would taint the bright sun that is Satoru.
Satoru's a lot sweeter than he lets on, you let a small smile grace your lips as you face him to sleep.
Thinking back to that conversation, Satoru leaned back in the chair of your room, wondering where it all went wrong.
Were you trying to reach out to him back then? Or were you asking him for some form of confirmation? Were you trying to let him know you were not alright? What did you want?
He wasn't as good at reading emotions like Suguru was, but he knew something was wrong when something was wrong. He just didn't know how to approach it.
He wondered, if he had indulged you that time, would you have let him in?
Tumblr media
"You had another fight with the elders, huh." Suguru stated, seeing your current state. He sat where the vending machines were, having just taken a seat after taking a shower. The can of green tea he had in his hands was opened and given to you, "Drink up."
You held an angry expression prior to this, but being with Suguru made you calm down. You took the green tea and took a small sip, savouring the bitter flavour. It was refreshing.
You handed it back to Suguru, "Thank you." He took it back and took a large gulp, feeling it cool down his body.
"You wanna tell me what happened?" Suguru prodded. He knew something was up. Normally you'd be more like Satoru when you came out pissed from the elders meetings. But this time, you were quiet, more like you were seething, like a volcano about to erupt.
You stared at the ground, wondering what you should start with. You felt that all the words exchanged between you and the elders wasn't listened to, wasn't taken into account. It was like talking to a massive brick wall, one that you had no way to get through to.
"I..." You started, but your throat clammed up. You stopped, waiting for the words to come naturally. When your throat finally decided it was ready to talk, your voice was a whisper. "If the elders disappeared, would this all end?"
Suguru's gaze landed on you, knowing full well what you were thinking. He gave you the green tea again. You took it, and another sip.
"If the elders disappeared, others would take their place."
Suguru could feel something was wrong. The atmosphere was different with you, just like how it was different for him a year ago after the star plasma vessel mission. He could sense it in his very being, something was wrong.
"If the others took their place, would they act the same as the ones now?" You chuckled to yourself, but your voice dropped an octave, "Jujutsu society is trash."
There was a slight panic that welled up inside Suguru, reminding himself of the emotions he himself went through not too long ago.
He could see himself in you, and he hated it. Not the one who had helped to bring him out of it, the one who reached out their hand to bring him back to the light. Not you.
"[name]. You don't hate all sorcerers, do you?" His voice was calm, probing for information for your current state of mind.
Back then, he was on the verge of deciding whether to continue as someone who protected the weak, or someone who didn't care for the weak. And now, you were going through something similar. He wanted to bring you back to him, to the one you saved.
After a moment, you shook your head. "I don't. I just...hate how the elders are sending out young sorcerers to their deaths. I hate how there are young Jujutsu sorcerers being taken away from their families so they can train to be another one of us disposables. I hate how no matter what, the top dogs in this world are absolute trash, who need to be burned at the stake. And don't get me started on curses. They're the worst. I hate them. I hate them so much for taking away so much from everyone. From sorcerers, from non-sorcerers..."
A pregnant pause.
"I hate this world that has curses." Your voice cracked at the end of it as you leaned down, head in your hands as you stared at the ground, a broken whisper of self-awareness, "I hate how I've begun thinking this way."
Suguru didn't know when he had held his breath. Your confession was so raw. You had every right to be angry and frustrated at the system which Jujutsu was. He had also held the same thoughts.
"Sugu..." There was a heartbreaking whine to your voice, one that sounded as if you were on the verge of crying. "I hate this."
An embrace, so gentle, so tender, so soft, enveloped you as his larger body wrapped around yours. You could smell the soap he used as he pushed your face into the crook of his neck, his larger hand stroking your hair as you finally let the tears fall, a broken sob reverberating through your body as you held onto him like he was your lifeline.
"[name], I'm here." He soothes, head gently resting against yours. He closed his eyes, pulling you in closer when he felt you trembling. This was the exact same thing you did for him before, one that soothed him and his tumultuous heart.
The only difference is, you were smaller than before, too. Were you eating properly? You were skinnier. Did you get enough sleep? There were bags under your eyes. Did you take a break? He didn't see the last time you took a break.
You pulled away after a while, eyes puffy and face covered with snot. Suguru didn't even flinch as he grabbed the towel sitting next to him, wiping off any excess liquid from your face. It was gentle, and it reminded you he was the most gentle out of the three, and he'd been in a similar position to you at this moment in time. When you looked up to meet his eyes, you decided, you didn't want to burden him with your thoughts of hate - one time was enough.
"I'll always be here if you need me. You can come to me anytime." His hand went to your cheek and his thumb wiped at the area of your cheekbone. Just like his tender hugs, this was so, so soft that it made you want to cry again, making you nearly regret the decision in your heart.
You could only lean into his hand and give him a nod, eyes closing as you felt fatigue come down on your body, making it feel heavy. You didn't even know you fell asleep so fast that Suguru had to catch you, hauling you up so he could carry you back to your room.
This was the only time you revealed your true thoughts to Suguru, and the only time he has ever seen you this way.
Maybe this was the start of it? Suguru's thoughts when he woke up were clear in his mind. The dream he had was something that really happened, and it hurt him he wasn't able to help you during your hardest moments like you did for him.
He had slept in your bed for the night, finding that he missed you and the comfort you brought him. Your scent was calming to him, and it will forever be a saviour to his soul.
Tumblr media
A week before killing the elder, Shoko had found you passed out in the infirmary, half of your body on a chair, and half of it off and on the ground.
She raised a brow at your position, wondering if you were tired and just fell asleep. On closer inspection, she could see the dark circles under your eyes, the thinning of your cheeks, and realised you've lost a lot of weight. The bottle on the chair were a bunch of sleeping pills, open and spilled, indicating you had taken some just prior.
If she wasn't worried about you before, she was definitely worried now.
And when you woke up, you were just like normal, which made Shoko question whether you were just overworked. She did know you fought a lot with the elders and were sent on difficult missions because they were out to get you. So with this information in mind, she was sure you were in need of a proper break, away from everything and everyone.
Which was why she advocated for you to get a break, away from Tokyo, to an island resort with lots of sunshine. A proper 4 day break. Of course, she got Satoru to pay for it since he was loaded and actually owed [name] for a previous thing.
But, the aftermath that came from that was the death of the elder 3 days after coming back.
Did that moment of clarity cause everything to happen? When you were on break, was that when everything went out of control? Was that when you decided this was the path you wanted to take?
You had looked completely back to normal after coming back that the worry Shoko and the boys held for you was almost like a false alarm - but they didn't realise that that in itself was the real alarm.
You were happy - or at least, you were smiling like you did before. It was wonderful to see you back to your regular self, something everyone mutually agreed on by the other sorcerers.
Until you murdered the elder, that is.
That was your first step into the world of depravity, away from the world of Jujutsu, and closer to the world called Hell.

[name]'s heart was soft. It was originally that way, and as you traversed through life, fell and got back up, your heart became stronger. However, it was just an outer layer, like a piece of armour for your fragile heart. You would pretend things were fine until it wasn't, even if you wore your heart on your sleeve, letting the people around you know what you thought, even if they thought you were joking.
It was almost too sudden when you realised all the armour around your soft heart had shattered to pieces.
It was like you lost a part of you that day, and you didn't know what could fix you. You didn't know if you could be fixed. So, you did the only thing you could do.
Pick up the pieces and do your best to put it back together, create a wall for your heart before it gets pierced again.
But before you were able to, a gunshot would shatter your glued armour, shattering in your hands, and your heart was laid bare, bleeding out without any way to stop.
And you wished and wished, for someone to reach out their hands to you and drag you out of your ocean of misery. But, nobody could reach deep enough, and you couldn't reach because you had no strength left to.
You couldn't reach out anymore. No matter how much you wanted, the same fate would await you, and you'd fall into such despair again.
You were tired. You were so, so, so tired.
The ones who made you like this, were ironically the ones who could take you out.
"____." You give them one last smile, a genuine one, as you feel the tears coming down your face, bringing your blade to your neck, before slicing and ending your own life.
You didn't want to die at the hands of your best friends. Not because they're your best friends, but because they would bear the burden of having killed you, and you didn't think they'd be able to take that, especially at the ripe age of 19. So, you'd rather do it for them, making it easier. After all, it would've been close to impossible going up against two of the strongest sorcerers.
You could only hear screams at you from the distance as the pain numbed your mind and body. Geto & Gojo were both screaming your name as they sprinted to you, their panicked shouts becoming background noise as they held onto your body, lifting you up to bring you to Shoko.
Your eyes could only see the terrified blue eyes from Satoru as he carried you on Geto's curse. He seemed to be wanting the curse to go faster, but Geto could only reply in an equally as panicked tone, saying this was his fastest one and that they're going as fast as they could to Shoko.
Your eyes are too beautiful to be panicking, you wanted to say. But, you couldn't. Blood had gotten into your oesophagus, making you struggle to breathe as you coughed and suffocated on your own blood.
"[NAME]! ARE YOU WITH ME?! STAY AWAKE!" Satoru's frantic shouts were barely ringing in your ears, but the creases on his face shouldn't have been there. They were going to give him wrinkles.
With one of the last ounces of your strength, you lifted your hand up to cup his cheek, then gently smooth the line between his brows, giving a weak smile.
Satoru let out a choked sound similar to a sob, understanding exactly what you were doing and what you wanted to say. He held your wrist, supporting you in whatever way he can as he could feel your body heat leaving you. Suguru placed a hand on your cheek, stroking the area under the eye, just like he always did.
It made you feel nostalgic, but you could barely see his expression, since tears had blurred your vision. You wanted to reach for Suguru before you had no more strength, so you gently moved your raised arm in that direction. Satoru, knowing exactly what you were doing, guided your hand to Suguru, who took your hand gently, holding it preciously between his two hands.
"Let's get you home, [name]." Were the last words Geto said to you. By 'home', he meant with them, back to Jujutsu, so they could forget everything that happened and start over. It would just be like those happy days, back when there was nothing to worry about.
In your state, you couldn't make out everything he was saying, but you knew they were kind words by his intonation and the caress he held for your bloodied hand.
You only gave them a smile, one that was apologetic, as you felt your consciousness fading away. The tears that blurred your vision finally fell, and the slight squeeze of your hand in Geto's made him realise that was it.
For you, it was time to sleep. It was a time for you to finally rest your tired mind and body, away from this world, and away from all those that you loved.
Suguru looked over at Satoru, who was biting his lip almost bruisingly as they trembled. With his sunglasses off, he could see everything in detail, including the way your cursed energy stopped, from when your body heat disappeared, and he couldn't feel you anymore. You were a hollow shell of a body now, and the last thing you left them was an apologetic smile on your face.
Away from the battleground, Shoko looked out the window, a pang of sadness hitting her all at once when she realised the screams belonging to Geto & Gojo resonated through the forest. She could barely just hear them, but she knew, the dread that filled her veins was apparent. She knew.
She closed her eyes, taking out the cigarette between her lips as she exstinguished it, her arm covering her eyes as she leaned back in her seat, silent tears falling down her cheeks.

"Quite sad, really. None of you realised [name] suffered this much." Kenjaku sowed the top of your head back together after revealing some information you kept hidden to Suguru & Satoru, and about your last moments and thoughts.
Seeing the despair and shock on their faces was intoxicating, especially when it came to the body he borrowed. Kenjaku knew the amount of love that had been given to the original owner of his current body, and using that, he could disarm even the strongest of sorcerers in the modern day.
It was a pity you were dead, but if you were alive and not dead, Kenjaku wouldn't have been able to take over your body now, would he?
It was especially sweet because the body hadn't even been cremated and still looked the same as it did 10 years ago. And those two who had been responsible for it were standing in front of him, in Shibuya station during Halloween.
Even better because you had died in their arms, so seeing you alive as Kenjaku was more of a sick joke than anything, but he loved that expression on the ones who had essentially allowed you to be this way.
"If only the people around them were able to reach out a hand before their descent into madness, none of this would have happened." Kenjaku ran a hand through your hair.
Satoru let out a low growl from his throat as he watched whoever was in your body use it, control it, and pretend to be you. No one could be you. You were gone. You were gone 10 years ago. And he knew - he knew you were not in front of him.
You died in his arms.
So there was absolutely no way that could be you. Absolutely not!
But, his six eyes said otherwise. It was you. Everything was you. It was the same you who died in his arms 10 years ago, the same you who gave him one last smile before leaving the earth.
It tore him to pieces inside.
Suguru put out an arm in front of Satoru, eyeing the cursed user in your body. He was pretending to be calm, but the way his hands and jaw clenched at the blatant disrepect Kenjaku had for your body was digusting. How dare he exhume your grave and take your body from it?
He felt a cold, almost murderous feeling bubble up inside him as he readied himself for combat.
That was not you. And it couldn't be, even if Satoru's six eyes recognised you to be alive. You weren't alive. You had been lost long ago, and whoever was in front of them was an imposter.
"[name]! How long are you going to let this little bitch take over your body?" Satoru finally burst, pissed at the prospect of someone disrespecting you.
Your hand, reacting almost instantaneously, went straight for the top of the head, right where Kenjaku's brain was. It stabbed straight through the cranium, a crunch eliciting a scream from Kenjaku himself as the brain was stabbed, wounding his real body. Kenjaku used your other arm to stop your attack on his weak point, feeling the blood pour out.
For a moment, it was silent except the light splatter and pitter patter of blood from your body. Suguru and Satoru stared at what happened in front of them, shocked that what Gojo said had ellicited such a response.
Kenjaku pulled your assaulting hand away, holding it in a death grip with the one he could control. The blood dripped down his face as he used his reverse cursed technique to heal the head wound, cracking the sides of his neck after he healed your head and his brain.
"Wow, I can't believe [name] went straight for the kill." Kenjaku laughed to himself. "But that's all there is to it. The soul and body are one, aren't they? Don't think this will happen again." He chuckled and waited for the hand to calm itself.
"Oh, and did you know [name] wrote a letter to each of you? Including Shoko. They knew they'd die so they hid it away in the school. I think they hid it somewhere important for each of you. Even they don't quite remember." Kenjaku couldn't quite recall what the contents of the letters were as the memory itself was fuzzy. He wanted to see it as their strong friendship strained due to his taking over of [name]'s body.
He wondered why this specific memory was blurred out, and he couldn't recall anything from your memories about this specific thing?
It was like you were deliberately making sure you didn't remember it, and deleted the memory from your head so no one could find the letters.
A letter? The strongest duo's eyes narrowed at the imposter in their dead best friend's body, wondering if it's a part of their tricks. But it was also hard to not believe them, since they look like you. And everything about you, they would believe.
Because you were the type of person who would write letters to them.
"I don't know what they say, but they've been there since before [name] died." Kenjaku tapped his temple, "If you can get out of here, I implore you to find them."
That pissed the two off. Kenjaku was implying they wouldn't get out of this alive, or at least, to see the letters that were supposedly left for them. It pissed them off to no end, and they prepared to battle, not wanting to take part of his nonsense any longer.

Dear Satoru,
I'm glad to have met you. I love you. I love Suguru. I love Shoko. I love everyone. We had so many fun times, and it was the best time of my life. Everything was so bright, cheery and brought me so much happiness, I can't even tell you the extent of it.
I hope you don't mind this letter. If you've found it after I've defected or after I'm dead, I can't express with words how much doing this pains me. If I can't use my words, I have to use my actions, right? I hope you don't forgive me for what I've done. It's unacceptable and you have every right to hate me. I've killed innocent people for the purpose of my goal. Horrible, right? I really hope you won't forgive me.
But I know you. You will. You're just that kind of person.
I'll miss your bright blue eyes and white hair. I'll miss your loud and boisturous personality. I'll miss how your heart races every time I hug you. I'll miss you nuzzling into my head when we hug. I'll miss the soft 'sweet dreams' you say every time you carry me to bed after I fall asleep studying. I'll miss when you take photos of me everyday. I'll miss your annoyingness. I'll miss your teasing words every day. I'll miss your blushing cheeks when you're embarrassed. I'll miss your comical, over the top reactions. I'll miss you eating a whole bunch of sweets in one setting. I'll miss the crepe shop we'd often go to. I'll miss how you make me feel safe. I'll miss your voice. I'll miss you.
If reincarnation exists, I want to meet you again. I want to see your smile again. I want to call you 'toru again. I want to give you the biggest hug, and feel the thrum of your heart racing. Then, I'll give you a kiss on your head, just like you always do to me before I sleep.
You're strong, 'toru. Make sure to stay safe and be careful. I don't want to meet you on the other side so soon. Grow up to be even stronger, and reform Jujutsu's society. I know you can do it!
By the way, I left your favourite recipe of the sweets you liked that I made. That way, you can enjoy them anytime.
Love, [name].
P.S. Don't eat so many sweet things at once!!! I don't want you getting cavities!!!
Tumblr media
Dear Suguru,
You were the first one to notice anything going on, and for that, I'm grateful. I'm sorry I brushed you off so coldly. I didn't know how to ask for help. I wish I'd have listened to your heartfelt words to rely on you a little more.
If you see this, I've probably already defected or I'm dead. But I just want you to know, I love you. I want to see you again. I miss you. I want to hug you and let you know everything I'm thinking. I want you to give me one of your strong hugs, knocking the air out of me. I also equally want your soft, tender hugs, as you whisper comforting words to me. I want to hear your voice again. I want to run my fingers through your hair again and question why you only use soap on it. I want to cook with you again. Have late night discussions. Cuddle. Piggyback rides. Kisses on the cheek. Allowing me to latch onto you like a koala when I'm cold since you run hot. I miss our times together. I miss you.
If reincarnation is real, we will definitely meet again. I want to see you smile from the bottom of your heart, and enjoy the most delicious food! And, if no curses are in that world, then you'll finally have a food you don't like - I'll be willing to lend an ear so you can whisper it to me! I want to cup your cheeks and tell you you've done well, for enduring during tough times and standing right back up. I want to finally give you a piggyback ride, since I was never able to fulfil that wish here. I want to be able to call you Sugu again.
Stay strong, Sugu. Make sure to stay safe. Since I know you hate the taste of curses, I've left the key to my safe with candies that are really good at cleansing the palette. Don't ever let these get into 'toru's hands or else you'll never see them again. I got these custom made just for you, and I've left a note with instructions on where to get it and what special order it was. I was supposed to give it to you sooner, but I left before then. Hope you enjoy them!
Love, [name].
P.S. Please take care of yourself!!! And don't use soap on your hair!!! Use proper shampoo and conditioner since your hair's so pretty!!!
Tumblr media
Dear Shoko,
I'm sorry you probably had to see my dead body.
If I had spilled my heart out to you about my troubles, I wonder if it would've helped? I kept things bottled up for too long and it's become like this. I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep our promise. We didn't get to go to Disneyland like we promised all those months ago - the tickets are just sitting somewhere rotting away. I really wanted to go with you, Sugu and 'toru. It would've been great fun, and we would've made so many memories.
I miss your voice, Shoko. I miss your laugh. Your insults. Your frankness. Your weirdness. Your chillness. You. Heck, I even miss your scent of smoke. I miss you so much. I want to see you.
Can I meet you again? In a world without curses, where we don't need to risk our lives and watch our loved ones die. If I ever get reincarnated, can you find me? Or I can find you? I want to enjoy our times together again, feel the breeze against our skin, sing joyfully, joke around, play around, and take many photos together. That's the only way I want to spend it - and I want it so much you don't even know. In that kind of world, we can finally be happier. We can finally smile geniunely. I'll be able to finally see you again.
I bought some smokes for you and it's in my safe. Suguru has the key. Take some of the candies too, they might help in cleansing your palette every now and then.
I love you.
Love, [name].
P.S. Too much smoking isn't good for you!!! Please quit or at least do it a little less!!! I worry for your lung health...

Trembling hands read their letters as they were found around Jujutsu High school. It had your cursed energy as a seal, but the minute it was touched by any of the three, the seal would break. The letter itself was blank, with a couple of pages for each of them. The words appeared once they injected their cursed energy into it.
Words written by you appeared on the page, covering all the pages given for each letter. As the trio read the letters you had kept hidden from them, they couldn't help but let their unshed tears fall.
They were all known as strong sorcerers who don't cry. But, you brought them to their knees with your sincerity, and you were lost too soon. It was the last thing they had from you, and the warmth in every word of those letters struck a chord deep in their hearts, remembering 10 years ago and the day you had died.
"I kept [name]'s room clean," Suguru started, his eyes glossy. He had already cried, but every time he wanted to read the words off the letter, he was ready to cry again. He didn't want to. "Everything's the same."
It was as if they went down memory lane. Nothing had changed in your room. It was just as Geto said, it was exactly the same.
Whenever Geto had some time, he would clean your room, just like how he knew you would like it. It was something he sometimes did if he stayed over to help you study or just to hang out. So, he knew where everything was.
Immediately going to the safe, he put in a random number, guessing your birthday, then he used the key entrusted to him and unlocked it.
"What a bad password..." Geto couldn't help but laugh lightly, but his laughter died in his throat when he opened the safe.
The first thing the three of them saw was a couple of picture frames, each of them with pictures of the four of them that they remember taking when they were younger. The photos where all of them were happy, grinning and had no care in the world, it made their throats dry, clamming up uncomfortably.
Geto picked up the picture frames, taking a closer look at them with Shoko.
"Oh, look, there's more." Gojo peered in, seeing the promised recipe, bag of lollies, Disneyland tickets and smokes from each of their letters. He took them out and handed them what was gifted.
As they examined the items, Gojo read the recipe, a page written neatly by you. It was as if he could imagine you sitting in your room, writing it just for him while you tasted the different variations that you recommended in the recipe.
Geto put the photos face down, falling flat on his back on your bed as his arm covered his eyes.
Shoko stared at him for a moment, deciding to join him by doing the same thing. Your bed was only a double bed (you had requested a bigger bed for your first paycheck) and didn't have that much space for the three of them, much less four.
Seeing the two of them do the exact same thing, Satoru joined them, but instead, he sat up against your headboard, laying his legs in a cross legged position.
He fipped the picture frames back up, a bittersweet smile on his lips as he basked in the silence and warmth of your room he was so familiar with.
He closed his eyes, and like the others, thought of you.
Would it have been different had you told them everything you were feeling? If you talked through exactly what was causing you grief, and what could be done about it? Were they not enough to help you back up? Would you have felt so suffocated that you chose to die? Would you have still died in their arms? Would Kenjaku have still taken over your body? Still left them behind?
They say sorcerers don't die without regrets.
And they knew if they died, their one and only regret would be you.
Tumblr media
At a certain crepe shop, Gojo Satoru waited for his crepe, one he decorated with strawberries, whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. It was one he used to frequent with his old friend, and he'd come here every week with them to buy a crepe. It wasn't the order he normally went with, but today, he felt nostalgic.
It had been so long since the last time he had visited the crepe shop with you, but it remained fresh in his mind even after reincarnating many times over. What timeline was he in now? He counted 7. That was 7 lifetimes without you. Suguru & Shoko were also counting, and they did whatever they could to find out where you would be. But, each and every one after their first, you were nowhere to be found.
Suguru & Shoko would sometimes come to the crepe shop, but they were also busy making a living in a world without curses. The tragedy from their first life remained fresh in their current ones, holding them so strongly they didn't want to give up.
But unknown to them, you were right under their nose all along, and you frequently went to that same crepe shop at times just before or after they were there, a mysterious force pushing you to the place.
It was at one time, where Satoru thought he saw you, that it reignited the flame that had been dormant for so long, to finally see you, after so many timelines and lifetimes apart.
Your voice, followed by your laughter, and your hand. He had you memorised, and he was so thankful for his good memory that recognised you. It was the closest he got, and when he heard you, saw a part of you, he was sprinting, but you had already disappeared onto the train, and the last thing he saw was the back of your head.
It was brief, but it was enough for his mind to go overdrive and let the others know his findings, that it was possible for them to find you this lifetime, and the crepe shop was the biggest key to it all.
And, when they cracked the code and finally found you, all the memories, feelings and thoughts from their original life came back to them, allowing them to finally see you in a world without curses, even if they had to wait 7 lifetimes.
If they had to put it into years, those 7 lifetimes were equivalent to over 600 years of not seeing you.
But, this lifetime, they finally found you.
Over 600 years in the making, and you also found them.

A/N: I CRIED WRITING THIS. It hurt me ๐Ÿ˜ญ here's part 2!
There's also somewhat of a prequel as well from Geto's POV if you were interested!
Here's also an AU in an alternate timeline with information that takes place directly after the original timing here.
If y'all want some fluff here's the masterlist for the rest of the series ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Thousands of years ago, a war between beastmen and humans emerged in a small city where they once had peace, but suddenly fear and anger emerged in the humans. Caught in the fray of violence were a young Wolf and her husband; they had been separated in the chaos, and the young wolf had died hours before her husband; he soon was killed after seeing her body 20 feet away. He was shot with an arrow straight through his neck, while his wife was shot in the heart.
A phenomenon occurred, the blood of the entire village had gifted both with immortality, but only the husband woke; thinking she was still dead, he moved her to where she would have wanted to be in her last moments. She never wanted to be buried right after death. She wanted to spend at least a day in her bed before she was buried, allowing her body the last comforts of life before she moved on.
By the time the wife awoke, she, like her husband, was bewildered, finding herself with new powers and a star-shaped scar on her chest. She looked around the room, expecting to find her husband nursing her back to health, but all she could see was an empty room and hear nothing but the wind blowing through piles of corpses; now, by the time she had woken up, 10 years had passed, although faint she could pick up the smell of her husband, discovering that her smell had been heightened, she stood and embarked on a journey, that would not reunite her with her love until many centuries later .
Y/n sat on a boat with a mink and a very anxious tanuki, who seemed to be getting offended about being called a raccoon, Y/n could smell the human on her, but something was off since it wasn't leading anywhere. "ah, what did you say your name was again?" the smaller beastmen, still in beast form, addressed the paled skinned female with shoulder length H/c hair. Y/n did not want to reveal her identity to this girl because of her powers, but she had no other ideas. "My name is Y/n Ogami," The wolf huffed quietly and looked back out to the ocean, and the Tanuki finally shut up.
As the boat landed, Michiru disappeared into the festival, but Y/n stayed by the docks. She was scared. She hadn't been around this many beastmen in a very long time, but her anxiety lessened when she was told that no humans aside from Alan Sylvasta were present in the city. Soon a loud boom was heard from the festival, putting Y/n on alert as she began to sniff the air around her, looking for the origin of the sound. Y/n rushed off, seeing a collapsed billboard accompanied by a confused and scared crowd.
Y/n started running around calming people down, worried for the place she wished to call home, where she wanted to base the operations of her search. Over the centuries, Y/n had never stopped looking for her husband, with the slight hope in her heart that he was blessed with the same miracle she was; after all, how else did she end up in the one place she wanted to rest in after death. Although the chaotic evening had delayed her search, she would never run out of time to find him if he was still alive.

After spending the night with the mink who owned the boat, she headed straight for the Mayor, hoping to gain an audience with her and the Mayor would have information about her husband. She had the luck of filling out a citizenship form before arriving. Unfortunately, she still had to watch others fighting over petty crap in city hall. They were already fighting when she came, but she was so distracted that she didn't notice the familiar scent leaving the building.
As she enters the Mayor's office, guided by a security officer, she looks around curiously before stopping a small distance from the desk. "Uhโ€ฆ" While Y/n was looking for the words to greet herself, the Mayor turned to look at her and smiled softly. "You must be the beastmen who arrived during the festival last night; such a terrible incident must have dampened your mood; how can I help you?" Y/ smiles softly; unlike her husband, she had become shyer over time. Although just as serious as he was, she still had trouble talking to new people.
"I'm looking for my husband, I lost him a long time ago, and I was wondering if you would have any information on him? His name is Shirou Ogami" Mayor Rose lifted an eyebrow in surprise, so this was Shirous infamous wife that he refused to talk about. "Although I cannot give you much, I would suggest heading to the Beast Co-op until you can find a place to settle down; the people there are wonderful and full of surprises; I hope this aids in your search," Y/n smiles brightly, although it wasn't much it was a start.
Wandering through the city, Y/n buys some pastries as she heads toward her new destination and soon-to-be temporary home. The smell of food always made her hungry, and considering the poor girl hadn't had a proper meal in about a month, she thought it would be best to treat herself to finding a somewhat reliable lead to finding her husband.
Y/n walks up to the lovely building, reading beastmen co-op in finely printed letters, and enters, immediately being greeted by a happy couple who had received word of her arrival; Y/n was surprised at how fast word spread to people if it concerned the Mayor or new beastmen. The nice woman, Melissa, offered her a nice meal while they waited for the other two residents to show up, wanting to ensure there would be no conflicts in sleeping arrangements. Y/n smiled up at Melissa and asked if she could find a place to read, and Melissa took her to a room filled with books, an office that, when Y/n entered, smelled incredibly familiar, like she had encountered the scent before.
Hours had passed, and Y/n had fallen asleep sitting next to a bookshelf, a book lying open in her lap and her head leaning off to the side. The door to the office opened, and in walked a tall man with white hair, a black collar, and a small crow on his shoulder. Adjusting his gloves and removing his coat before noticing a new smell in his office. Melissa did say they had a new resident. He looked around and saw a more petite figure, about two inches shorter than she was, sleeping with a book. The male placed his coat on his chair and walked up the steps to the second-level shelves.
As the male approached the sleeping figure, her physical appearance shocked him. She looked a lot like his wife, with a modern clothing taste. He gently picked up the female, causing her slumbered state to stir, the book hitting the floor quite loudly. She stretched her arms before rubbing her eyes and squinting at the person holding her above the ground. Unable to identify who was holding her, she sniffed before jumping out of the man's arms, tears forming in her eyes.
Shirou was really confused; why was this woman crying at the sight of him, and why did she look so shocked by his scent, Y/n squats to the ground and started rubbing her eyes and calming herself down. She hiccups and rubs her cheeks before standing back up and walking up to Shirou, placing her forehead against his chest, giggling softly, "I found youโ€ฆ" although quiet, it was picked up by Shirou's ears, confused he gently grabs her shoulders and pulls her away from his chest to get a good look at her.
Surprised by his reaction, Y/n tilted her head slightly to the right, curious about what he was doing. The taller male inspected her face; of course, he hadn't recognized her right away, it had been hundreds of years, and at the time, they didn't have the technology to produce photos. "Shirou???" Y/n was concerned about her husband's failure to recognize her. Shirous eyes went wide when she said his name. That's what made the whole thing click in his memory.
Shirou hugged her tight and buried his face in her hair. "How?" his voice was quiet as she hugged back. "I was granted the same things you wereโ€ฆ it took me so long to find youโ€ฆ" Melissa opened the office door to check up on Y/n before noticing the two in a loving hug before closing the door quietly to leave them be. The two pulled apart and placed their foreheads against each other "You know, it was courageous of the mayor to not tell me you live here" Y/n smiled up at Shirou as he rolled his eyes and picked her up, heading towards his room so he and his wife couple could get their rest "Mayor Rose has her ways, maybe she wished for you to be surprised."
Placing Y/n down in the bed, he sat down next to her and introduced her to Kuro as they caught up on hundreds of years apart from each other, and for once, Shirou found a silver lining to being the silver wolf, that being his wife turned out to be alive and that she's been looking for him all these years. That night they fell asleep next to each other for the first time in centuries, reunited.
End.

Content warning for angst
Crash Landing
(another extract because I haven't figured out the order yet! ๐Ÿ˜… This time with Gordon and Alan's perspective as they wait for Two/Virg.)
"So!" Gordon chirped brightly, breaking the silence.
"I picked up this voice modulator. Has over five hundred voices to choose from! Was saving it for a rainy day but given Two's gonna be off the rota for a while, I thought we could install it?" The aquanaut nudged his brother's shoulder.
"Sure." Alan shrugged halfheartedly.
"Come on bro! Picture it...it's Virgil's first flight back, he does his preflight checks, fires boosters, then old Johnny boy crackles over comms, only it's a Darlek! Sending you co-or-din-ates!" Gordon materialized a plunger from nowhere and advanced towards his brother.
Alan forced a smile in response then turned to recheck the medical supplies he'd been readying for the umpteenth time.
"Come on Sprout. He'll be okay. You know that right?"
"Mmmm." Alan nodded noncommittally.
"Hey, and bonus - once the jets have finished dousing Two n' Virg is out safe - granted a few bumps and bruises; we'll have our own fire retardant foam party!"
Alan chuckled despite himself but his face remained doubtful.
"Talk to me bro."
"I- I don't know what to say." Alan fumbled; his brain suddenly spinning into overdrive.
"I want Virg to ditch Two in the sea, but I know he won't do that. I want Scott and Kayo to do... something to help Virgil but they can't abandon the mission...And why the hell do bad people keep trying to hurt the good? They don't come much kinder than Virg. Now our brother and his lifesaving ship are going to get smashed to pieces, and for what? I mean, even if Virg pulls this off, he's gonna get his ass handed to him and he started his day by trying to help people." Alan's expression contorted into a bitterness which had no place on a face so young. It made Gordon's heart flip.
The aquanaut inhaled deeply, ready to unpick the tangled ball of emotions he himself wasn't entirely sure how to process when Alan looked up; the anger replaced with pure and unfiltered dejection.
"And I just feel so selfish."
Gordon's brain tripped over itself.
"Wha- Why do you feel selfish? You've not done anything wrong."
Alan blinked rapidly at the horizon.
"I know, it's just that I know you feel all this worry too... so it's selfish for me to not cope, not when everyone else in the family feels the same. I don't want to be the weak one." he added, clenching his fists.
Gordon met his brother's glistening eyes with warmth from his own.
"You're not selfish or weak. You care, and that's a good thing."
"Yeah, but Grandma, Scott, John...well, all of you - you all care and yet you're all so together and practical. You just...handle it. Me? I feel like I've spent my entire life trying to live up to something I'm not." He scuffed his boot on the ground.
"I mean, I knew the gig going into it. I'm not afraid of getting hurt. And I can maintain a healthy distance from it all emotionally when it's other people...well, I can most of the time. I just thought, when I put that uniform on, when I learnt to pilot Three, when I saved my first personโ€ฆthat it'd somehow make me capable... of saving the rest of you."
Gordon pulled his younger brother in almost fiercely and held him with all the love and devotion his fractured heart could afford.
"We're not gonna leave you Allie."
"You can't promise that." Alan whimpered from the crook of his brother's armpit.
"Maybe not." Gordon straightened.
"But if it's too much...Al, you know that you come first. You must say if you don't want this." his aquanaut brother gestured back towards the hangars, his face more serious than he had ever seen it before.
"Me leaving International Rescue won't solve the issue." he shrugged weakly.
"I mean all of it, Allie. If International Rescue is too much, we don't have to do it. We can just be a regular family." The words were said with such sincerity that Alan could do little more than shake his head whilst regaining his ability to speak.
"It wouldn't be us. Besides, Scott would rejoin the air force, you'd be back with WASP. I'd see less of you all than I do now...which I suppose isn't such a bad thing." He said regaining his humour.
"Hey!" Gordon objected.
Alan broke free from the hug.
"Besides, I'm proud to be a part of what we do. I know it's what's right and I do love it, even though it's hard."
Gordon squeezed his brother's arm.
"I'm proud of you Al. You're pretty awesome y'know?"
"Yeah, I know." He said dragging his face over Gordon's sleeve.
"Eurgh! I take it all back, you suck!" Gordon protested, shoving back the now sniggering younger brother.
Alan gave a gentle punch to his brother's shoulder.
"Thanks Gordie."

Hey! I just want to say that I love your story about Alan Grant and as I saw you are open to requests can I ask an Alan!hurt story? Maybe he is injured during Jurassic park while trying to protect the kids and Ellie has to help him to get out of there, but will they make it? All angst possible would be great and a happy ending would be even better. I hope itโ€™s not bother. Thank you!
Tumblr media
A/N: This seems like an Alan x Ellie & I don't write character x character but I'll make you a deal. I'll make the character a paleobotanist friend of Alan & you can just replace Y/N with Ellie. For the sake of continuity, I'll just kind of lightly remove Ellie from the storyline so that you can add her in the Y/N place.
Pairing(s): Alan Grant x GN!Paleobotanist!Reader
Contains: A lot of movie content, jealous Alan unable to control his emotions, fear of death, sad Alan, (I literally didn't follow the request, I'm sorry. Explained at the bottom)
"Why don't you come down, just the pair of ya', for the weekend? I'd love the opinion of a paleobotanist as well!" Hammond's words rang in your head as you sat next to Alan in the helicopter.
Yes, you were technically getting a lot of funding for your dig just to do this trip but the selling point was really getting to spend time with Alan outside of digging up bones. You felt as though Alan was just here for the money but honestly, the thought of spending more time with you had Alan extremely excited. You both managed to think the other had no interest & you were just friends.
Alan sat at the window seat, playing with his velociraptor claw. You hadn't realized you were zoning out watching him, his brows furrowed as he spun the small object between his fingers.
"So you two- uh, dig up- dig up dinosaurs?" Ian pulled your attention away from Alan.
You let out a laugh, "Well."
"Try to," Alan spoke softly with an equally soft smile on his face.
Ian let out an awkward yet somehow adorable laugh then looked you up & down. He had once already when you weren't looking but he wanted you to know he thought you were attractive.
"You'll have to excuse Dr. Malcolm, he suffers from a deplorable excess of personality. Especially for a mathematician," Hammond practically apologized as he turned to you.
"It's fine, it's sweet," you laughed, not noticing Alan turn away, not wanting to hear this.
"Chaotician! Chaotician actually, John doesn't subscribe to chaos, particularly what it has to say about his little science project."
"Hoggswallop, Ian. You have never been able in sufficiently explain your-"
"Oh, John, John, John because the behavior of the system is faith-based-"
"A load, if I may say, of fashionable number crunching."
The two continued bickering & you stretched in your seat.
"Dr. L/N, Dr. Grant, you've heard of chaos theory?" Ian asked, hopeful.
"No," you looked at Alan.
"No, non-linear equations? Strange attractors?" Ian paused as you shook your head, "Dr. L/N, I-I refuse to believe that you are unfamiliar with the concept of attraction."
You blushed & gave Ian a smile, Alan would be lying if he said this didn't make him upset. He tried his best not to give you the cold shoulder after that.
It got to time for lunch & you all sat down. You were a little shocked when Alan didn't sit next to you but you brushed it off. Opinions on the park quickly became the topic of conversation. You agreed wholeheartedly with Ian. Maybe it was the flirting with Ian, no, it was definitely the flirting. Despite agreeing with the two of you, Alan's mind was clouded with jealousy. To avoid conflict, Alan stood up & walked out of the room. The plan would've worked if you hadn't followed, worried about him.
"Alan! What's wrong?"
He couldn't stop himself, "Leave me alone Y/N. Go hang out with Dr. Malcolm. You clearly enjoy his presence more than mine."
"Alan, that's not-"
"Just- shut up, Y/N!"
You were shocked, unable to even respond. Alan knew he hurt you but his conscience wasn't loud enough to get him to apologize. You walked outside quietly, ironically, Ian Malcolm had seen the entire thing & ran to your aid. His arm found its place on your shoulders but you quickly shrugged it off.
"Not the time, Dr. Malcolm."
He muttered an apology & John Hammond finally caught up to the group with two kids in tow. He announced that you'd be split into two cars & you quickly announced, "I'll sit with the kids."
You were upset with Alan but saving him from spending time with two kids (Knowing he hates children) was second nature at this rate. You always handled field trips to the dig site & grew to like kids. Maybe they could distract you from your previous argument.
The tour had turned around due to the storm. The kids kept you distracted but Alan's words still floated in your mind. Alan mindlessly stared at the back of your head the whole trip. His apology was stuck at the back of his throat still, he couldn't tell if he was mad at you or himself. Ian managed to worsen his mood by asking if you were available. He was about ready to yell at Ian when the fence broke. The two of them went dead silent & watched the series of stupid decisions that the children made despite you telling them not to. The car was flipped upside down & Alan ran to your aid while Ian distracted the T-Rex.
"Y/N, grab my hand!" Alan instructed as he kneeled down into the mud, reaching his hand as far as he could into the car.
You insisted that he helped the kids first, pushing Lex towards Alan. There wasn't enough time to get you or Tim out because the T-Rex had returned, pushing the car around. You wound up hitting your head hard against the dash as the car was pushed off the cliff, effectively knocking you out. When Alan made it to the floor he set Lex down & ran to the tree, calling out for you. Alan hates trees, heights, all of it, but he has never climbed faster. As he got closer he could hear Tim crying.
"Please wake up, please!" he repeated, shaking you by the shoulders.
Alan assumed the worst, completely shouting, "Tim what happened?!"
"Y/N won't move! I think they're-" Tim stopped, unable to finish his sentence as Alan finally saw you.
You had a couple abrasions & cuts, otherwise fine, but Alan couldn't tell in this light. He cursed under his breath.
"Come on, kid. I'll get Y/N after you're out."
Tim hesitated but he got up soon after & Alan directed him to begin climbing down. Alan paused to just look at you for a moment. If you really are dead this might as well be the worst day of his life. He yelled at you, the person who understood him & cared for him.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N," he couldn't speak over a whisper as he entered the car, trying to grab you.
He moved forward cautiously, knowing that the car was suspended by a few vines & weak branches. He sat against the floor of the car, pulling your head into his lap. You were so peaceful & now that he was close, he could see that you were breathing. The wave of worries slowly washed away. I wish I could say that was the end of this nightmare of a trip.
Within seconds of Alan grabbing you, the car jerked downward. The branches were breaking. Tim screamed & began climbing down faster. Alan froze for a moment, cursing himself for letting you end up in this situation. He protected your head with one arm & braced himself against the passenger seat with the other. He held you tight, repeating apologies like that would somehow save you as each & every branch broke beneath the car. He wanted to tell you he loved you at this moment. You were unconscious & likely about to die but he wanted you to know. He was being burned by fate, he waited too long & treated you like shit today. This is all his fault. The words were stuck in his throat as you continued to fall.
You hit the ground hard, still in the car with Alan. The pain jolted you awake. Alan was dazed & In shock. You both somehow lived & you were staring at him, terrified. You led him out from under the car. The kids ran up, celebrating that you both had lived. Alan wouldn't talk, just staring at you with wide eyes. You instructed the kids to hide in a nearby tree & wait for you. They complained but listened.
"Alan? Are you okay?" You spoke with a hand on his shoulder.
You were met with Alan swallowing, trying still to figure out how to speak again. Your hands moved to cup his cheek.
"Alan, I don't understand. Are you still mad at me? What's going-"
He pulled you by the shirt into a kiss. It was short & sweet. His shaky hands found your cheeks as yours fell to your lap.
"I-I'm not mad, I'm- I'm sorry, this is my fault."
"How could this be your fault?"
"I yelled at you. I yelled when I shouldn't have. I wanted to apologize but I didn't. I love you! I love you, Y/N!"
You didn't even hesitate before pulling Alan into a deeper kiss. Only after you both needed to gasp for air did you consider pulling away. You rested your forehead on his, smiling in the thick of this horrible nightmare jungle.
"I love you too."
A/N: I'm working on my like month old requests. Shhhhhh. Also, I totally didn't follow the request. I just realized this is completely different from what you asked (LIke I said this is like a month later & I had this half-written already) as I am writing this second a/n. I'm sorry lol, request again & I'll do it but I like this one.

April 1897
It was lunchtime, but Jim wasnโ€™t hungry. It was also time for his Art Society meting, but he was not feeling particularly creative, either. He only felt nervous, but he knew that he could not let his nerves get the better of him. So, he took a deep breath and swallowed the hard to get the knot out of his tongue.
โ€œVery wellโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll just say what I wish to say, then,โ€ he said. He cleared his throat. โ€œAnd, er, what I wish to say isโ€ฆ Well, itโ€™s this. Iโ€™d very much like to accompany you to the ball. To the Celestial Ball. As your friend. Actually, no. Not as your friend. I mean, yes, we are friends, but Iโ€™d like for us to be more than that. And perhaps, if youโ€™d grant me the honour ofโ€ฆ of your company next weekend, we might make our first, um, steps in that direction. How does that suit you?โ€
Jimโ€™s offer was met with silence. He sighed.
โ€œThat was no good at all, was it?โ€ he asked. โ€œWell, if at first you donโ€™tโ€ฆ Try and try again. Right. Itโ€™s the Celestial Ball next weekend, and I know lots of people are partnering up for it, and I wondered whether you might like to partner up. With me, that is, not... So,what say you, Hรฉloรฏse?โ€
Hรฉloรฏse said nothing, because Hรฉloรฏse was not there to say anything at all. Jim was merely practising asking her, and her stand-in was the only person Jim could think of who would neither judge him for his stutter, nor interrupt him whilst he was speaking. However, he could have used some constructive feedback. Perhaps he should have practised on a person rather than a ferret.
โ€œOkay, Alan,โ€ said Jim. โ€œThird time lucky, yes? Well, I really do enjoy your company, and I consider you to be a very dear friend. I also think that you areโ€ฆ incredibly beautiful andโ€ฆ Iโ€™d rather like to escort you to the ball on Saturday. Only if youโ€™d like me to, of course.โ€ Jim sighed. โ€œI wonder if I perhaps should not mention the beautiful thing. Itโ€™s ratherโ€ฆ forward, donโ€™t you think?โ€
In response to Jimโ€™s question, Alan the ferret twisted around on the desk to nibble at the base of his tail. He made no noise, but somewhere nearby a snickering noise could be heard. Jim frowned. The noise was coming from behind a cupboard.
He pulled out his wand and walked towards it, and the snickering grew louder, and louder, until he came around it to findโ€ฆ
Ethel and Selene, sitting with their backs against the cupboard, their knees tucked up by their chests and their hands pressed to their mouths, in a poor attempt at stifling their giggles.
At the sight of his sister and her friend, Jim lowered his wand, and at the sight of him, they dropped their hands from their mouths and gave into their laughter.
โ€œFor the love of Godric,โ€ Jim said crossly. โ€œThis isnโ€™tโ€ฆ It isnโ€™t funny!โ€
โ€œOh, but it is!โ€
โ€œIt really, truly is!โ€
The two girls laughed even harder, their eyes watery and cheeks pink.
โ€œStop laughing, Ethel!โ€
โ€œI cannot,โ€ Ethel wheezed. โ€œI cannot stop. Oh, Jimmy. I did not realise you held such strong feelings for Alan.โ€
โ€œI can see for why you would,โ€ said Selene. โ€œHe is a very fine ferret.โ€
โ€œA beautiful ferret, or so Iโ€™ve heard it said.โ€
โ€œIndeed, I believe I have heard that said, too.โ€
โ€œUnfortunately, Jim, Alan shanโ€™t be accompanying you to the ball. He prefers to form attachments with his own species. Iโ€™d strongly suggest that you do the same,โ€ Ethel told him. โ€œI know that Mamma and Pappa are rather liberal in their views, but this might be too much for them to take. And I dread to think what Hรฉloรฏse would think of you having such an unnatural-โ€
โ€œLEAVE ME ALONE!โ€ Jim snapped at his sister, far louder than he had intended. Ethel blinked, but otherwise appeared nonplussed.
โ€œSuit yourself, Jimmy. We have far more interesting people to spend time with. Ferret-fancier or not, you still bore us terribly.โ€
She and Selene stood up and crossed the empty room. As they did, Selene scooped Alan the ferret up into her arms and threw a dirty look at Jim over her shoulder.
โ€œDonโ€™t you fret, Alan. We shall take you far away from this nasty depraved boy.โ€
Jim sighed loudly as he watched them disappear from sight, before picking up his things and making his way through the castle to the empty classroom where Brady and Lysander were having their meeting.
โ€œJim, old chap,โ€ said Brady. โ€œYouโ€™re late. What kept you?โ€
โ€œMy sister.โ€
โ€œAh.โ€
Lysander frowned. โ€œWhatโ€™s the matter with frog-face this time?โ€ he asked. โ€œBitter that no oneโ€™s asked her to the ball?โ€
โ€œIโ€™m not sure,โ€ Jim replied. โ€œSomeone might have asked her.โ€
โ€œReally? Who?โ€
โ€œI donโ€™tโ€ฆ What does it matter to you? You despise Effy.โ€
โ€œIt doesnโ€™t,โ€ said Lysander quickly. โ€œAnd I do. I was simply wondering whether or not we might have a lunatic in our midst, that is all.โ€
โ€œI see,โ€ Jim nodded slowly. โ€œHave either of you two asked anyone?โ€
โ€œIndeed I have, old bean. Iโ€™ll be escorting Carolyn Nyberg.โ€
At Bradyโ€™s announcement, Lysanderโ€™s eyebrows shot up.
โ€œPerhaps we do have a lunatic in our midst,โ€ he muttered. โ€œThere is a fine line between lunacy and bravery, or so they say. Carolyn Nybergโ€ฆ Youโ€™re a far braver wizard than I am.โ€
โ€œAnd me,โ€ Jim sighed. Bradyโ€™s eyebrows furrowed, and so he explained. โ€œI cannot even pluck up the courage to ask Hรฉloรฏse.โ€
โ€œReally?โ€ Brady shook his head. โ€œBut, Jim, this is your perfect opportunity to get closer to her.โ€
โ€œYes, I am aware of that.โ€
โ€œSo why on earth have you not taken that opportunity in both hands? Carpe diem!โ€
โ€œPrecisely for that reason,โ€ said Jim. โ€œIt is tooโ€ฆ I feel a lot of pressure, and that makes me too nervous. I try to ask her, and then when I do, my mouth goes dry and my words get stuck and I canโ€™t say anything at all.โ€
โ€œNot even a word?โ€
โ€œNo. Well, yes. In a way. The other day I managed to tell her that she has lovely handwriting.โ€
โ€œAh,โ€ Brady said. Lysander looked up from his sketch.
โ€œDoes she?โ€ he asked.
โ€œDoes she what?โ€
โ€œHave nice handwriting.โ€
โ€œOh, yes. Very nice handwriting. Small and neat and pretty and Frenchโ€ฆ Like youโ€™d expect, I suppose,โ€ Jim told Lysander, who exchanged glances with Brady. โ€œUmโ€ฆ What?โ€
Brady rolled his eyes and placed his head in his hands. โ€œI simply cannot cope with this,โ€ he said. โ€œYou must ask her.โ€
โ€œButโ€ฆ Excuse me!โ€
Jimโ€™s mouth fell open as Lysander pointed his wand at his hand, the one holding his favourite sketchbook. The sketchbook shot up into the air and hovered above Jimโ€™s head, tantalisingly out of reach of his fingertips.
โ€œHereโ€™s a bargain for you, Jimbo,โ€ Lysander said with a smirk. โ€œYou can have the sketchbook back when - and only when - you ask Hรฉloรฏse to attend the Celestial Ball with you.โ€
โ€œBut thatโ€™sโ€ฆ Brady, make him see sense.โ€
But Brady chuckled and shook his head.
โ€œJim, old chap, I think Lysander is making perfect sense. You require a - pardon my French - jolly good kick up the derriรจre.โ€
โ€œThatโ€™sโ€ฆโ€
โ€œThe library is two corridors away. If you hurry, youโ€™ll have a companion for the Celestial Ball and your sketchbook back by the time we start afternoon lessons.โ€
Both Lysander and Bradyโ€™s faces were earnest, and Jim knew that there was no persuading either of them to give him back his sketchbook, not until he had done what he had so far failed to do. He sighed angrily, as frustrated with himself as he was with his friends.
โ€œGo on, old chap. Be bold.โ€
โ€œCarpet demon,โ€ said Lysander, and Brady put his head in his hands again.
Jim left them alone and walked through the two corridors to the library, his heart beating faster and his feet growing heavier with each step. He was not ready for this, he would never be ready for this. What if he was unable to get his words out again? What if he did, and she laughed at him? What if she said no? Oh, Godricโ€ฆ What if she said yes?
He found Hรฉloรฏse in a quiet corner of the library, far from the noise that was coming from the librarianโ€™s desk, where his sister was pestering Madam Khanna about something, he did not care what. At this moment, he cared bout nothing but managing to be bold, to ask Hรฉloรฏse to attend the ball with him, and getting his sketchboook back from Lysander.
โ€œHรฉloรฏse,โ€ he said as he approached her. Slowly, she raised her brown eyes from her astrology textbook and regarded him with a look of curiosity.
โ€œJim. Good afternoon.โ€
โ€œGood afternoon, Hรฉloรฏse.โ€
There was a long pause in which neither of them spoke. Jim swallowed hard three times and cleared his throat.
โ€œHรฉloรฏse, I was wonderingโ€ฆโ€
โ€œTo whatโ€ฆ Sorry. I amโ€ฆ intruding your speaking.โ€
โ€œNo, Iโ€™m sorry,โ€ said Jim. โ€œYou continue.โ€
โ€œI was to ask why you are here, but I think you are now to tell me,โ€ Hรฉloรฏse said with a wry little smile. โ€œWhat have you wondered?โ€
This was it. Jimโ€™s chance. He had to take it. He had to be bold.
โ€œI wondered whether anyone had already asked to accompany you to the Celestial Ball, and if no, then whether you might allow me to accompany you.โ€
Jim spoke faster than he had intended. It potentially was too fast, for Hรฉloรฏse frowned as if she had not understood his meaning.
โ€œYou are wanting toโ€ฆ escort me to the ball?โ€ she asked, and Jim nodded.
โ€œYes. Yes, indeed. Iโ€ฆ It would be my privilege. Only if you wish to do me that honour, of course.โ€
โ€œOh.โ€
โ€œOh?โ€ Jim was half-hope, half-achingly deep despair and longing.
โ€œIโ€ฆ Jim, this would be nice.โ€
His heart skipped a beat. โ€œIt would?โ€
โ€œYes,โ€ Hรฉloรฏse smiled sadly. โ€œButโ€ฆ Unfortunately, I cannot to go with you. I am sorry. I have promised to my friend Henry that I will to go with him. I did not thinkโ€ฆ I am sorry.โ€
โ€œNo, donโ€™t be sorry,โ€ said Jim. He forced himself to return Hรฉloรฏseโ€™s smile, in spite of the fact that he felt more like crying. โ€œA promise is a promise, andโ€ฆ I am sorry.โ€
โ€œWhy?โ€
โ€œForโ€ฆ asking, I suppose. I hope that this shall not ruin ourโ€ฆ our friendship.โ€
โ€œFriendship, yes,โ€ Hรฉloรฏse nodded. She swallowed and looked down at her book. โ€œI must to study.โ€
โ€œI must to goโ€ฆ I must be going. I shall see you soon. At the ball, maybe.โ€
Hรฉloรฏse said nothing in response, just stared at her book, already clearly engrossed in it. Jim walked away from her, focusing on the sound of his footsteps echoing on the floor of the library, for her knew that if he did not focus on something, his thoughts would fly to Hรฉloรฏse, and then he would look back. And if he looked back, then the tears that pricked his eyes would start to run away from him, and he would start to cry in front of everyone.
And if that happened, he might never be able to be bold again.

.....MLM Ships for Tim That I Think Would Be Interesting
Tumblr media
TimKon
* God Tierย
* Youโ€™ve read all the think pieces on these two, donโ€™t lie to me.ย
* Theyโ€™re Soulmates, Your Honor
* Best Friendsย
* Confidants - Trust each other more than any of their previous relationshipsย
* Orpheus and Eurydice parallelsย
* Historical canon can already be read through a queer lensย
* Already paralells and compares to other couples, including their own past relationshipsย
* Theyโ€™re both superheroes. Endless opportunities for storytelling.ย
* This some end game shit right hereย
Tumblr media
TimIvesย
* Timโ€™s Longest Friendshipย
* Regularly comes in and out of Timโ€™s life, but never holds Timโ€™s absenses against him; always ready to return to being friends without any hard feelings
* One of the smartest people Tim knows; may even be smarter than Tim himself, but is more of a coward than he is. Could potentially figure out Tim is a superhero all on his own, which could be milked for drama and intrigue. And when the smoke settles, his intellect could be used as a homebase assist, similar to Oracle.ย
* Civilian love interest. Often boring, but has worked well in the past - Lois Lane and Linda Park, for instance. I believe his status as a civilian super genius who is also an abject coward could lead to some intersting storytelling when Timโ€™s superhero lifestyle comes home to roost.ย
* Potentially tragic. Ives has a history of battling cancer, which was in remission last we saw him. Could be milked for drama, angst, and tragedy. Could push Tim to dark places, given his history with loss. Could end happy or sad, depending if the writer wanted it to be end game or not.ย
Tumblr media
LonnieTim
* Meta. Alan Grant originally intended Anarky to be the third Robin but changed his plans when Marv Wolfman created Tim Drake.ย
* Antihero. Anarky was Timโ€™s first solo takedown. Theyโ€™ve got history. The Drama!
* Lonnie became Timโ€™sย โ€œOracleโ€ when he was comatose. They work very well together when theyโ€™re on the same side.
* Misaligned political beleifs. Could put strain on the relationship. More drama!ย
* Oh, yeah, and also, he may or may not be the Jokerโ€™s biological son..... THE DRAMA!ย
Tumblr media
TimDanny
* I dunno, man, I just got VIBES between Tim and Danny Temple. I feel like you could easily say he had a crush on Danny at school. Maybe thatโ€™s just me tho.
* Danny was considered for the position of leader within the Cult of the Kobra. While this position seems to have gone to someone else in New Earth, it could be brought back for some Drama.ย
* Danny figured out Timโ€™s identity as Robin all on his own. Tim never told Batman this. Could be milked for some Drama.ย
* This option Iโ€™m not sure has the same potential as the others, I just have a soft spot for it.ย
