Empathy means the ablity to feel someone else's emotions. It doesn't dictate wether or not someone is a good person.
Lacking empathy doesn't mean someone doesn't care or is unkind.

i just did this rejection sensitivity questionnaire and i got 56/60 points. i’m a fucking mimosa leaf. i know there is a lot of overlap between personality disorders and things like untreated adhd and cptsd so who knows. i’m just so confused and don’t currently have access to adhd diagnosis, which is not covered by insurance for adults. but i’m starting to think all this is due to untreated adhd.
there were signs in my childhood, but esp. as a girl it was pretty much ignored. and my parents were very anti-mental health treatments. guess who was getting prayers and pats on the back as a depression cure. guess who was being told to just smile and think positively. idk man i feel burntout and tired 🫠
anyway, try the questionnaire and feel free to share what you got.

I’ve discovered that I like to copy the way that people speak and their mannerisms. Like if I like the way someone does/says something I will adapt the way I do it to be more like that.
I do this with David Tennant a lot and I learned from my sister pointing it out that it is quite obvious. An example is when David Tennant (Crowley) is speaking and he does the low bit where his neck kinda goes in and like yeah; I’ve started to talk like that sometimes. And the speed talking and the way he walks.
The start of this video is what I’m talking about with the voice thing.

People with adhd/bipolar, (still have no idea which side of the overlap this is) do you ever feel yourself getting "better", and you start to feel happy again, and you have motivation!! you finally have the drive to pick yourself back up and start getting your life in order. You reorganize, clean, start brushing your teeth better, water your plants more frequently, trim your hair— anything. The life you want finally seems within grasp. But you know. You know in a week or two you'll be scrambling to maintain all these standards you've just set, and one by one they'll drop like flies until you're stepping over dirty clothes and deciding that one more night without washing your face is just gonna have to cut it. And there's nothing you can do but try to catch up before you get stuck again

Yeah when I get overly excited or overly happy or overly… most emotions, I do a little stim, like a shake it all out, just to get rid of the excess energy, like when I was watching mang0 v hbox like can you blame me for having to shake my hands like jazz hands it’s so exciting
Also when I find something very funny I clap my hands really loud, or slap my knee. Does that count as a stim? Idk.

Me: Hey, will you take a picture of me with the statue of Jesus?
Sister: Of course!
Me: *sees a squirrel that looks different than the ones back home* SQUIRREL! *takes off into the grove of trees to get a pic so I can ID it later*
Sister: ...you literally just had a "squirrel!" moment!

Do you ever have like an new or resurfaced interest and you’re like “oh! I’m really into this rn!” But then something happens out of the blue that you get into that like interrupts the previous interest and now you’re into the new thing and it’s cool but you’re also like “wait shit I thought I was gonna get like at least another week of serotonin out of this last thing before the next thing”
