Remus hands were everywhere. They were alone in the dorm, but they could have been anywhere surrounded by anyone and Sirius wouldn't have noticed. He was consumed by his boyfriend: Remus's hands under his shirt, scratching light patterns along his spine, Remus's hair, curls twisted between his fingers, Remus's tongue, twisting with his own.

Then Remus's hands reached lower, dipping below his waistband, and Sirius's world stop. His heart was racing and all he could hear was his pulse in his ears.

"Wait, stop," he breathed out.

It was like he'd said the magic word. Remus pulled back immediately, slipping his hands onto Sirius's waist, above his shirt this time. Gold eyes met grey, the former darting back and forth as if eye contact would reveal the problem.

"What's wrong? Are you okay, Pads?" Remus asked quietly.

"I just." Sirius took a breath. "I don't want... I don't want to have sex."

Remus smiled gently.

"That's okay."

"Ever," Sirius continued. "It's just not for me. I don't know."

Remus's expression didn't change. He moved his hands to Sirius's own, untangling his clenched fists.

"That's okay too, Pads," he said. "We don't have to have sex, ever. I'm happy with just kissing, if that's all you want, or cuddling or holding your hand or whatever your boundary is. As long as we're together, I don't need anything else."

Sirius relaxed, moving towards Remus so he could pull him back into their close embrace.

"I love the kissing, and I think I'd die without the cuddles," he whispered. "Thank you for understanding."

Remus pressed a kiss to his forehead.

"Thank you for telling me, love."

“You let him put stickers on your bike,” James says, slowly.

Sirius shrugs. He surveys the room boredly, ignoring James’ keen, obnoxious gaze.

“And you kept them there.” James throws back his head and chortles, wiping imaginary tears from beneath his lopsided glasses.

“He spent twenty minutes picking them out,” Sirius defends. “I couldn’t tell him no.”

Sirius has made many people cry before, but making Remus cry would be a different type of crime altogether. More than likely, he’d end up offering his entire net worth, heart and bones.

“Sirius, you’ve told the Minister of Magic no. In fact, you told him exactly where he could shove it.”

“That’s different,” Sirius scoffs. “The minister is an idiot who wants other people to do his job for him, and Remus spends his mornings sharing toast with the birds.”

His back garden was now a sanctuary for at least twelve different owls. Remus named them all, and spent the last three days in extended excitement over the nest of owlets he had found while scaling a large oak tree.

James grins at him knowingly, running a finger over the triceratop and flower stickers stuck to the sleek black paint of his motorbike.

“You like him.”

“Yeah,” Sirius deflects, “he’s nice and clueless and wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

“You’re blushing,” James goads, reaching out to poke Sirius’ cheeks. “You never blush.”

He slaps his hand away, shoving at a gangly arm and spilling half of his coffee down his shirt; the scalding liquid still not enough to deter James’ laughter.

“Bloody wanker,” Sirius grumbles.

"Moony- how did you get a cat and not tell us?" 

Remus growled at the question, pulling his blanket over his head as James bounced on the bed, trying to get his attention.

"Piss off, Prongs," he snarled, grabbing his pillow to smack the boy with, resulting in an indignant yowl that made him freeze and process what James had actually said.

He froze, pillow in his raised arms, and glanced down to where a large, black, fluffy cat with silvery eyes was flicking its tail with irritation, nearly blending into Sirius’s long, black hair spread over the pillow as the other boy also grumbled and buried himself under the covers.

Remus tilted his head back for a moment, muttered, "Right, I signed up for this," then resumed smacking James across the face with his pillow, "It is too fucking early, you bloody Quidditch menace!"

"Oy! If you'd stop trying to hide things from us!" he laughed.

"It can wait until a reasonable hour!" he insisted.

"It's not my fault - your bunkmate needs to get up," James pouted, shoving Sirius out of bed with a single push, taking the covers with him. "And I saw this sweetie," he finished, reaching out for the cat who hissed.

"Right inconsiderate, Moons, what if I was allergic?" Sirius muttered sleepily, rubbing his eyes.

"And Wormy might have issues with it," James added, teasingly.

"Leave me out of this! I like cats fine!" Peter shouted.

Remus growled again, grabbing the cat in his arms and moving them both to Sirius's untouched bed, as his had been thoroughly destroyed.

"You're going to have to tell me what you want to be called like that, or else you'll be named by the people responsible for 'Moony' and 'Wormtail'," Remus muttered to the cat, pulling the blanket over his head and going back to sleep.

Unpopular Marauders opinions

i'm bored so here are some opinions that i'm too scared to say on any other platform

Deciding that Pandora Lovegood had to be from a death eater family (Rosier, Malfoy, Lestrange) was the worst thing this fandom ever did to her character

The fannon characterisation of Marlene McKinnon gives me massive self inset pick me vibes and i hate every part of it (and i really mean every part of it)

This fandom isn't misogynistic y'all are just too demanding and expect the fandom to be the exact same as any other where we have a hardcore cannon source for every one of these characters and ships. we do not. we know more about Barty Crouch Jr then we do about Marlene McKinnon, Mary MacDonald and Dorcas Meadowes combined. it's unrealistic and stupid to expect everyone to care about the same characters and ships to the same capacity as you do when we are not watching/reading the same thing. (if any of that makes sense)

Barty Crouch Jr, Evan Rosier and pretty much every single other death eater were villains. it's okay to like them and want to expand on them but stop trying to make every bad guy secretly good

We cannot keep blaming Dumbledore for everything. Dumbledore had nothing to do with half of the deaths that you are accusing him of. blaming Dumbledore and headcannoning that he obliviated Mary and turned Regulus away and all that takes away from everyone else's characters, sacrifice and choices

The Marauders weren't child soldiers. They had a choice on if they wanted to join the Order or not and they chose to because they're Gryffindors and they're The Marauders and probably thought of themselves as some invisible hero's. They don't need to be seen as victims to Dumbledore for them to be tragic

There is a cannon and you cannot be mad at people for wanting to stick by it

Similarly Fannon Sirius is against cannon. Sirius is one of the primary adult characters in the Harry Potter series. He is literally the title character to the fan favourite book/film. We have so much information about how he acts and "oh Remus i'm your little bitch please let me sit on your lap because i'm only small" ISNT ONE OF THEM

thank you bat!! I love love love aspec sirius, was just thinking about writing a queerplatonic wolfstar fic after the dorian gray au.

I have a lot of thoughts on aspec sirius here.

but another big part of the aspec experience is having unhealthy aspec parents who either don't talk openly about sex or who actively treat sex as something negative and shameful, so of course it takes you forever to figure out that not everyone feels this way! and you know orion black is treating sex like it doesn't exist while walburga is out here giving puritanical lectures about it, so yeah... sirius is deeply confused.

and maybe he doesn't figure it out until he's well into adulthood. he likes feeling attractive to other people because, I mean, fuck this poor boy was completely starved of affection for eleven years. and he likes making the people he cares about feel good. so that's what sex is to him, and it's fine, you know?

and maybe after azkaban he can't stomach the thought of sex, and he just wants to be held, and remus is like "that's absolutely fine, love" and he just holds him. and sirius is so afraid "what if I never want to have sex?" but remus assures him "that's so so fine I love cuddling you" and then he asks "what if it's not because of azkaban? what if I've always been this way? does that make me a monster?" and remus just pets his hair "of course not, that's also so fine, I love you."
