Revelation: my whole life, when I've responded to sarcasm seriously, people have been like "uh...why you so serious... I was being sarcastic..." and it makes me insane because like... duh? Why am I not allowed to respond to sarcasm seriously? Why does it have to be treated as hOw DiD yOu MiSs ThAt I wAs KiDdInG? Basically: why is it framed as me failing when I absolutely knew it was sarcasm?

Anyway, this just happened with my wife (no shade, it's very rare with her as compared to like, my uncle, and I told her it made me uncomfortable, we're good, it was just the spur to the revelation) and I think I've realized why it happens and why it bothers me so much.

It's always framed as me missing something, but it's not.

I knew they were being sarcastic, and I chose to respond seriously.

While g3 is a lot better about including different body types, I feel like ppl are applauding the bare minimum just bc they made Draculaura's doll have a pear shaped ish body but like. Thats just an average body type?? Sorry but thats not far from the body type of our body and we are not considered fat. The rest of the characters are often simply at least a bit skinnier than whats actually average. I feel like Iris Clops and Tundra Bominable are probably the only humanoid body characters whose bodily types even diverge a bit from the norm?? And I feel like they made Clawdeen in the show (and practically every character ofher than Draculaura) very skinny compared to her live action counterpart.. It feels like media franchises want to be lauded for just having a doll and character with an AVERAGE body type and that being "body diversity" for them. Media in general makes it seem like average is "skinny but not so skinny that your bones show"

You know she is  making fun of you. "Could you not read my mind?” You deliberately crease your forehead and quickly spin around to avoid meeting her eyes. This is not something you are used to doing.

Leah chuckles before inching her face closer. "No. 16 isn’t capable of that." You can feel her warm breath caressing the back of your neck. "Are you blushing? C’mon, you are a girl too."

You decide to steer the conversation away from the awkward topic. “What’s our mission this time?” You grit your teeth, feeling as though there are burning coals in your mouth and your body is on fire. Your voice is cracked.

"Catch that star". She looks up at the light of the star that glides downward outside the cockpit and falls into the ocean, where it is crushed by the waves. You let out a muffled grunt, unable to figure out why she appears so calm.

"You’re scared." She extends her arm in your direction, but your arm does not move in response. It seems like she has cut off the connection. While you are deep in your thoughts, she beckons you over. "Come on," she invites in a serene tone, "let’s do it like the old days.”

You reach out your hand silently. She gently laces your fingers together and holds your hand in a tight grip as usual. She is strong despite her slender and small body...

The stars are still sparkling on the ocean outside the cockpit. Instinctively, you tighten your hold on Leah’s hand to prevent the starlight from slipping through your fingers.

Super late but I fell asleep earlier than I should've and I need to get out these late (or super early morning) thoughts.

Jack can be a little scummy. Not just for the sake of it, but more so as a warning. Mean girl valedictorian turned PTA entitled mom scummy if you will (that's a thing I just came up with). And I'm not just talking about Canon, I mean general AUs or otherwise.

Jack might give his rival (romantic or otherwise) a sit down and ask how they're doing, subtly point out things they'd be insecure about and say in such a well meaning and sweet way how they should work on that thing, the hardest if they can, and say how even though you mean well you're severely bothering Sunshine - they have a lot on their plate at the moment, you see.

Jack wants what's best for everyone! Even those less than desirable... but everyone can change! They just need a push in the right direction.

If you don't take the hint and get in his way, then what's a subtle pull away from the crowd to give you a talking to about your problematic behavior? Or a missed invitation to a very important event in your life? Maybe you should work on yourself, get your affairs in order and stop messing with his friends. Because pretty soon you won't have any.
