Eddie’s immediate response to finding out that the guy in their living room was Tommy was to say, “Let’s have sex.”
Steve: Right now? We have a guest!
Eddie: No, we have the guy that beat me up in high school in our living room and I am married to the guy that he had a massive crush on. Tell me that wouldn’t make you a little horny.
Steve: Tommy did not have a crush on me
Eddie: He did. He convinced you that it was totally heteo to make out with your male friends when you were alone
Steve: I mean, Carol was there sometimes
Eddie: That’s - fascinating, I did not know that and we’ll circle back to it but right now… let’s get naked.
Tommy, from the bottom of the stairs: You do know that you’re still live-streaming, right?
Eddie, looking down at the phone in his hand like he’s seeing it for the first time: Yes

Home Sweet Home
You bring Colson to your hometown for the first time.
Request: “Can you write a Colson imagine where you take him back to your hometown to meet your family and friends and he’s nervous everyone will hate him but everyone ends up loving him? And maybe include a run in with some girls from high school that are jealous 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️”
Colson Baker x Reader
Warnings: Cursing
A/N: I try to be as inclusive as possible in my fics but its hard when writing about families in this capacity, so I just went with the most generic family model possible. Also, my family is very unusual so I don’t really know how families interact… oop

“Will you stop freaking out, you’re making me nervous.” You placed a soft hand on the shaking leg of your boyfriend. “And they’re my family.”
He let out a sigh, the shaking stopping momentarily as he pulled you as close to him as possible in the back of your Uber. “What if your parents hate me?”
Taking a deep breath, you assured him again, “my parents are not going to hate you. We’ve been over this; they’re going to love you.”
“Your dad is going to take one look at me and punch me in the face.” Colson said, a pout on his face.
You let out a chuckle, “he is not. And even if he does, you can take a punch.”
Despite your laughter, Colson remained stoic, “I’m serious Y/N, dads hate me. I look like everything you’d want your daughter to avoid.”
A sigh left your lips at his admittance of insecurity. “Babe listen to me, please. My parents are going to love you because I love you. And if they don’t then tough shit because you’re not going anywhere.”
He nodded, but you could still see the worry behind his eyes. “I just really want them to like me. They’re important to you, so they’re important to me.”
You smiled at the comment, heart fluttering. “I’m in love with you.”
He looked at you deeply, a smile falling onto his lips, “and I’m in love with you, princess.” His lips pressed a small kiss against the crown of your head and rested there until the car pulled up to your childhood home. You felt your boyfriend tense up beside you, so you reached for his arm that was around your middle, rubbing soft shapes through the sleeves.
“I’m gonna be right next to you the whole night.” You told him as you moved to open the door, breathing in the refreshing air. LA was lovely, but it was nice to be able to breathe properly in your hometown.
Colson grabbed your bags out of the trunk, even though you insisted you could help. “Go say hi to your family, babe. I got it.”
You pressed a small kiss to his cheek, whispering a small “see you inside” before rushing to the familiar front door. Years of memories lie beyond its wood, memories you were excited to relive.
Knowing your family would keep it unlocked for you, you turned the knob and pushed the door open. The smell of your family’s cooking filled your nose, and immediately members of your family found you.
“Y/N!” Your younger cousins screamed, racing over to you to hug you. The last time you’d seen them they were 5 and 7, now they were 8 and 10.
“You guys have gotten so big! Did you drink some sort of magic potion or something?” You asked, a smile on your face.
Your mom had told you that she and your father would be cooking, but you didn’t think they’d invited your entire family. Although, you should have assumed they would given how close your family was.
Once your cousins let go of you, you turned around to see Colson waving off the Uber driver and making his way to the door. You turned to your younger cousins once he got close enough for them to see him. “Guys, this is my boyfriend, Colson.” They gave small waves as you introduced them to Colson, who gave them a big smile.
“C’mon, babe. I’ll show you to our room.” You grabbed one of the bags from his hand, much to his dismay, and led him through the house. After you had moved to LA, your parents had turned your bedroom into the guest room, but some of the decorations from your younger years had remained on the walls.
Colson looked around the room, smiling as he thought of younger you growing up in here. “Is this a Bowie vinyl?” He asked, motioning to the vinyl record on the wall as he set your bags onto the bed.
You nodded, smiling wide. “Yep, got it for my 15th birthday. Signed and everything.” Your boyfriend nodded in appreciation as his eyes moved around the room. You wrapped your arms around his middle, cuddling into his chest. You could feel his heart pounding in his chest from how nervous he was. “You’re not gonna freak out and run off on me, are you?” You asked, a light humor in your voice.
Colson let out a dry chuckle, “no, I’ll be okay.” He mumbled, squeezing you closer to him. “But what if  we just stayed in here forever?”
You slapped his chest playfully, “c’mon loser, you’re coming to meet my family whether you like it or not.” You grabbed his hand, pulling him towards the door.
“Yes ma’am.” He saluted with his free hand, making you giggle.
You made your way into the kitchen where your mom was standing with your aunts and sister. Her eyes lit up when she saw you, “you made it!” She came over and gave you a tight hug, “How was the flight?” She asked.
“It was fine, we slept most of the way.” You smiled before turning to Colson. “Mom, this is Colson, you’ve met him over facetime a couple times now, remember?”
She smiled moving to pull him into a hug. He had a shocked look on his face but reciprocated the hug. You mouthed “sorry” to him, giggling silently. He just smiled and shook his head, letting you know he was okay.
“Of course, I remember! She talks about you all the time.” You blushed as Colson smiled proudly. “You’re much taller in person.” Your mom noted, making you and Colson chuckle.
“Yeah, I get that a lot.”
Your sister cleared her throat, grabbing your attention, “right! Colson, this is my sister and my aunts.”
They each introduced themselves politely. You told them you were going to go outside to find your dad and brothers. Before you left your sister pulled you to the side and whispered in your ear, “okay, I knew LA was full of hot guys, but how’d you manage to pull that?”
You laughed out loud, “Y/S/N! That’s so mean!”
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” She laughed, but then whispered again, “but seriously, god damn.”
You rolled your eyes, “next time I’ll bring you one back.” She giggled, nodding in encouragement.
You took Colson’s hand, ignoring his quizzical look, and led him to your backyard. “That wasn’t too bad, right?” You checked in on him.
He sighed, “no, but moms are never bad. If moms don’t like you, they’ll say it in secret. Dads will say it to your face.”
“My mom loved you, and so will my dad. Just trust me.” You smiled, squeezing his hand.
You found your dad sitting on a lawn chair with your grandparents. Your brothers were throwing a football around with some of your older cousins and uncles. You greeted the three in lawn chairs, your dad standing up to give you a hug.
“Hey, Y/N/N. How are you?” Your dad asked.
“I’m good! Glad to be home!” You smiled.
Your grandpa grunted, “you should never leave, then.”
You chuckled, leaning down to give both him and your grandma hugs. “You’ll be so sick of me in three days, you’ll be begging me to leave.”
Once you stood up straight, you motioned to Colson, “This is my boyfriend, Colson. You’ve kind of met him before, Dad.”
Your dad reached out his arm for Colson to shake, earning him a strong nod. “Strong grip. I like him.” Your dad looked towards you. You could tell he didn’t remember meeting Colson on facetime, but you hadn’t expected him to.
“Grandpa, you’ll like this. Colson knows all four members of Motley Crue.” You smiled, winking at your boyfriend.
The older man looked impressed, “really? I was a roadie on the Theatre of Pain tour.”
Colson nodded, a smile on his face. “I played Tommy Lee in their biopic and then, uh, we recorded a song together.” You grinned proudly as the two talked about their experiences with the band.
Your dad put a hand on your shoulder, shaking you lightly, “You happy?” He whispered.
You turned to look at him, “yeah. He’s a good guy, trust me.”
Your dad nodded, “oh, I can tell. Just wanted to make sure.” You thanked him, watching your boyfriend interact with your family. “Now you gotta introduce him to your brothers.” He chuckled at your sigh.
“Do I have permission to punch them if they act like assholes?” You asked, only kind of joking.
Your dad pushed you towards the lawn, “I see nothing.” You smile, grabbing Colson’s hand and leading him away from your grandpa once they’d finished their conversation.
“Okay, so I knew you were freaking out about my parents, so I didn’t want to freak you out even more.” You started, causing a panic look to cross Colson’s face. “My brothers are…” you searched for the words, “assholes. But like, loveable assholes. But they’re probably gonna give you shit, but it’s out of love. But I have no problem hitting them if you want me to.” You smiled.
He raised an eyebrow, “normally I’d say that’s my job but I feel like it’d be easier for your family to forgive you than me.” You laughed, pulling him to the guys and introducing him.
It turns out, your brothers actually really liked Colson, which was somehow worse than them hating him. Because it meant that they stole him from you. When you went back inside to talk more with your mom, your brothers demanded Colson stay outside with them. He seemed happy, so you let him stay, excited that your family was taking to him so well.
An hour later, dinner was almost ready, so your brothers started to set up the folding tables outside, which Colson gladly helped with. You were helping your mom finish up the last of the food, watching your best friend and soulmate through the window with adoration. He was helping your younger cousin put the tablecloth on the table, the scene reminding you of the time Casie and him took you out for a picnic on your birthday. You couldn’t wait to bring her here.
“You chose a good one.” Your grandma commented from behind you, making you jump a little bit. Once you registered her words, you blushed, mumbling out a thank you. “I can tell he really loves you. A granny can always tell.”
You smiled, “I really love him, too.” You turned back to check on him, catching his eye. He sent you a bright grin, making your grandma pat you on the shoulder before walking back to your mom to help her.
The rest of the night was magical, Colson by your side the entire time. Eventually most of your family left, leaving you and Colson to go to bed. You cuddled into his side, a smile on both of your faces. “They all love you, y’know?”
He hummed in response, squeezing your waist. “I love you.”
You chuckled, “you’re so fucking cheesy.”
The next day you were determined to take Colson on a tour of your town, starting with the skate park you spent almost every day at in high school. “We would’ve been best friends when we were kids.” He said as you dragged him through the park.
“We’re best friends now.” You chuckled, pausing to press a kiss to his lips.
He hummed, “I think we’re a little more than best friends but okay.” You rolled your eyes, pulling him further into the park until you spotted a familiar face.
“Little Benny?” You asked, your face lighting up. The younger guy’s eyes widened, running up to you.
“Y/N?” he asked, pulling you in for a hug.
You chuckled, “You were like, 12 the last time I saw you, what the hell?”
The man laughed along with you, “well you were the one who ran off to LA miss big-time producer.”
You smiled, realizing he had probably checked up on you. Benny was about 7 years younger than you and had looked up to you almost his whole life. Seeing him so grown up was a strange experience for you.
You noticed him glancing to Colson, his eyes going wide. “You’re-“
You laughed, “Benny this is Colson, my boyfriend. Also known as-“
“Machine Gun Kelly!” The younger boy exclaimed, making Colson chuckle.
He reached out his hand, which Benny gladly shook, “nice to meet you, man.”
“Kells, this is Benny, my friend from high school. I taught him how to skate.”
“More like your protégé.” A female voice said. Behind Benny came Deanie, another girl his age you had taught. Benny’s arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her into him.
You smiled at the two, knowing Benny had liked her since he was in middle school. “Hi Deanie.” You said, the girl smiling back at you. “This is Colson, my boyfriend.”
“Are you gonna skate?” She asked, eyes going wide.
You sighed, shaking your head, “sorry, guys. Maybe later, I’m just showing Colson around the town right now.”
Deanie and Benny both pouted, “damn, she goes off to Hollywood and forgets all about us.” Benny joked, making you all laugh.
You grabbed Colson’s hand, “We’ll see you guys later!” You waved, pulling the man away from the couple.
“It was nice to meet you!” He said, making you smile. “You seriously taught him how to skate?”
You nodded as you continued your trek to the diner you used to work at. “Yep, I taught most of the kids how to skate, although I guess they’re all his age now.”
Colson grinned, “so you’re, like, a legend here.” He commented, but you shook your head, laughing.
“No, I was a loser.”
“Not to those two, you’re not.” He said, swinging your intertwined hands. You rolled your eyes but didn’t say anything further.
You finally arrived at the small diner you used to work at. About 50 feet away from the door, Colson’s phone buzzed. “Shit, Slim’s calling.”
“Take it, I’ll grab a table and you can meet me inside.” He smiled thankfully, answering the call as you walked inside.
You immediately spotted Wesley, the cook you’d known since you were 16, through the order window. The smell of the diner was familiar, and for a moment you felt like you were walking in for a shift. You leaned against the bar, “Hey, Wes!” You called, drawing the cook’s eye.
“Little miss Y/N! Is that really you?” You smiled at the old man.
“It sure is! How’s the diner?”
“I’m still here, aren’t I?” You giggled at his response. Wes had opened the diner in the 90’s and swore he’d burn with the building.
You grabbed a booth in the corner, just in case there happened to be any peering eyes in your small town.
Unfortunately, your table was in Liza’s section, a girl who’d hated you since you were kids. You found it quite funny that she was still working at the diner after all this time, silently thankful that you’d gotten out of the town.
She scowled when she saw you but walked over anyways. “What happened? Strike out in Hollywood and now you’re back here trying to get your job back?”
Her voice was just as annoying as it had always been. “Or did your rich sugar daddy dump your ass and now you’re home begging for money?”
You wanted nothing more than to slap the smirk off her face, but you refrained. “Actually-“ You started, but you got cut off by your boyfriend.
“You have a sugar daddy and didn’t tell me about it? Babe I would’ve helped you scam him for so much more.” He smiled, sitting across from you, and grabbing your hand that was resting on the table.
Upon realizing who was sitting across from you, Liza stiffened. “You’re-“
“Y/N’s boyfriend, nice to meet you.” He smiled, an evil glint in his eyes.
“Machine Gun Kelly!” Liza said, her squeaky voice making you cringe.
“I prefer Colson, but yeah.” He sighed, looking back over to see your annoyed expression.
Liza looked between the two of you, a look at disgust on her face. “Seriously? Why the hell are you going out with her? You could do so much better.”
Your mouth dropped open in shock at her blunt rudeness. Colson’s jaw clenched as he spoke, “what, like you?”
The girl shrugged, not catching the sarcasm that dripped from his voice. “I’m just saying, I don’t know what she’s told you but she’s a talentless bitch whose probably only dating you for money or fame, or both.”
Luckily, Wes came out to the front of the house to greet Colson, stopping him from punching a girl in the middle of the restaurant. “Nice to meet you, man. I’m Wes, owner, cook, and the best boss Y/N has ever had.” Colson shook his hand, still glaring at Liza.
“Yep.” You agreed with the man. Your voice was soft to calm Colson down, which worked a little bit.
Colson shot the man a grin, “nice to meet you, Wes. Y/N talks about this place all the time.”
The look of pride on Wes’s face was unforgettable. “Well, if you two need anything, just let me know.”
Colson looked towards Liza, annoyance returning to his features, “do you think we could get a new waiter?”
You almost laughed seeing the look of shock on her features, but Wes happily obliged, handing your table over to a newer waitress. Liza had steam coming out of her ears, but you ignored her.
“Thank you.” You muttered. “She’s hated me since we were kids.”
He rolled his eyes, “Yeah I could tell. Couldn’t have her talking shit like that.” He squeezed your hand, “now, what’s good here?”

Could you do a Thomas Hewitt with a insecure female reader who always wears clothes (hoodies, sweaters, etc) that cover her whole body 24/7, even on the most hottest days. And refuses to remove anything even if NSFW events occur. Would Thomas be annoyed by it and how can he convince her to change. (Sorry if this sounds like a weird request, I totally understand if you don't want to do it :)
You got it! I actually used to be like this and still am sometimes, so this was really nice to write. I hope you enjoy it!
TW: Implied murder, slight NSFW
Thomas Hewitt With An S/O Who Wears Long Sleeves 24/7
He feels you.
Thomas knows what it's like to not feel comfortable in his own skin, so there is absolutely no judgement coming from him.
He does, however, think you have nothing to be ashamed of.
You’re the most beautiful thing Thomas has ever seen and he wishes you knew that!!
Working around the Hewitt household in long sleeves can become very uncomfortable very fast – everyone in the house is expected to pull their weight, which means you have a variety of tasks to complete each day. Whether it's cooking, cleaning, gardening, luring victims to the house, fixing up the house, it all makes your body temperature rise rapidly.
Thomas is usually down in the basement during the day, so he doesn’t get to see the way you stumble around the house, trying your best to do your chores despite suffering a semi-heatstroke.
Luda Mae is the one who spots you sweating and panting while pulling weeds from the garden. It's no shock to her. You are wearing an oversized sweater while working under the Texas sun, but it does confuse her why you aren’t changing into something breezier. She doesn’t ask you why you wear what you wear, not wanting to pry, but she does worry about you, so she makes it a point to frequently bring you glasses of ice water to try and cool you down.
It gets to a point where Luda Mae cannot stand seeing you almost pass out each day with sweat dripping down your forehead, so she tells Thomas.
Once Thomas hears this, he becomes extremely worried about you. You were suffering each day and he never knew.
He goes upstairs after hearing this from Luda Mae and finds you in the kitchen scrubbing the counters. You were wearing a large hoodie, just like always, but now that Thomas knows your usual attire has been causing you discomfort, he decides to confront you about it.
You try to tell him that you just like to dress this way, that this is just your style, but he’s not buying it. He can tell you’re miserable in these clothes, that you’re hiding something from him.
He let’s it go for the time being since you both have to get back to your chores, but he plans on revisiting the matter later that evening.
When that evening does come around, Thomas finds you in the living room sitting on the couch, sipping ice water from a tall glass. He’s a bit hesitant to ask you about your clothes again, not wanting to upset you or make you feel uneasy, but he knows this is an important matter and he feels it’s his duty to help you.
So, he timidly approaches you, his nervous expression hidden behind his leather mask. You beam up at him once he’s standing in front of you. “Hey, Tommy! I missed you today!” you reach up to him, wanting to hug him close to you, which he accepts eagerly, wrapping his arms around you gently. You can tell something is off with how stiff he is; he’s usually so relaxed when around you, but now he seems to not want to be in your presence.
“Is something wrong, Tommy?” He lets out a quiet sigh before letting you go.
‘Why are you wearing that,’ he signs.
His questioning makes you look down at your feet. “I already told you, this is just how I like to dress.”
‘That’s not true. It’s too hot to be wearing that, I know it makes you feel sick to work in those clothes. I want to help you.”
You wished he would just drop the subject. Yes, he was right. Working around and outside the house in these warm clothes during the Summer season in Texas does take a huge toll on you. You’re constantly burning up, sweating, feeling fatigued and like you could hit the floor at any moment. But you prefer to endure all of this instead of bearing any part of your body besides your face.
“I just...I feel more comfortable with myself wearing this. That’s all.”
“Why?”
Your face burns at a million degrees from embarrassment. “Because I’m ugly, Thomas! I hate the way my body looks, okay? I don't want anyone to see my body, especially you.”
With that said, you got up from the couch and retreated to your room that you shared with Thomas.
Thomas could feel his heart breaking apart as those words left your mouth, as you walked away from him in shame. You thought of yourself as ugly? You? How could anyone possibly see you as anything less than stunning?
Thomas followed you to the room the two of you shared and found you laying on your side on the rickety bed in the middle of the room. He could see your shoulders shaking as you cried silently. Now it felt like someone had ripped his broken heart out of his chest and devoured it right in front of him. He hated to see you cry.
He ran over to your side of the bed and bent down on the floor in front of you. “Sweetie, please don’t cry! Please don’t be sad! You’re so beautiful and I love you so much,” he signed frantically.
“No I’m not,” you argued. “I’m so ugly and if you see my whole body you won’t want to be with me!”
There had never been a time where Thomas thought of you as any less than perfect, but right now he thought you were insanely absurd. He was the ugly one, he thought. He was the one who was afraid you would leave him if you saw him without his mask. He could never leave you - you were the best thing that ever happened to him. And that’s exactly what he told you.
You felt hurt that your boyfriend thought of himself that way. You knew he was beautiful underneath his mask, no matter what. It dawned on you that Thomas probably felt the same way knowing you thought of yourself as ugly too.
“Thomas, no. I know I haven’t seen you without your mask yet, but I just know that you’re so, so handsome. Please don’t think of yourself that way. I...I know that that’s what you want to say to me too.”
Thomas nodded, eyes filled with sadness. “Why won’t you believe me?”
It was hard to talk about. It made you feel embarrassed and small and ridiculous. “Tommy, when I was younger, just starting high school, I had my first boyfriend.”
Thomas was already shifting uncomfortably. He didn’t like hearing about another man getting to love you the way he does.
“There was this one night, my boyfriend and I decided to be more intimate, and…” your cheeks were on fire at this point, “And he didn’t like what he saw. The next day at school, he avoided me. A week after that, he was dating one of the school’s cheerleaders. And not long after that, they started spreading rumors about me. Mean, nasty rumors that got around pretty fast.”
Thomas hadn’t noticed, but tears began to leak out of his eyes at your story.
“I felt disgusted with myself. I never wanted anyone to see any part of me, so I covered myself up. And I just...never stopped, I guess.”
Thomas raised his hands slowly to begin signing to you. “They were liars and bullies. You are so pretty. The loveliest angel I’ve ever met. Please believe me! I would never lie to you. I just want to see you, all of you. But most importantly I want you to be comfortable with yourself.”
You didn’t reply, but you let Thomas’ hands run down from your shoulders to your wrists.
“Can I touch you?” he asked.
You wanted him to. You and Thomas had had sex before, a couple of times, but you had never taken your shirt off, and he had never taken his mask off. You wanted Thomas to love every part of you, even if you didn’t love yourself. You wanted to believe him when he said you were beautiful. You wanted him to believe he was beautiful.
“I’ll let you see me, if you let me see your face.”
Thomas stiffened. He had always dreaded this moment. He never wanted to show you his face if he could get away with it, but he knew one day he would have to. And he knew if he ever wanted to help you, to make you believe him, he would have to show you the same trust you were trying to show him.
So as the two of you lied yourselves bare to each other, kissing every part of each other’s bodies, whispering sweet words between trembling limbs and pounding hearts, you both began to believe that maybe the other was right. Maybe the two of you weren’t ugly monsters.
The two of you were beautiful together.

If there was one good thing about a global pandemic, it was that it meant you got to spend more time at home and less time actually working. Of course, as an educator, you had to still work but at least you got to do it from the comfort of your own desk. The office space was one that you shared with your boyfriend, which wasn’t an issue most of the time.
But if there was one bad thing about a global pandemic, it was that you had to stay home. While your boyfriend was content to stay at home, you were not. Your need to be out and about had you on daily walks nearly every day but as your self-imposed quarantine grew longer, you found yourself opting to stay home.
Though, today was different. Today, you had taken it upon yourself to go out and get the groceries while Clay stayed home to work. And by work, you meant to stream a video that most likely would be extremely loud and distracting and you really couldn’t bring yourself to do any work while that went down.
So there you were, an hour later, arriving back at the home that you and Clay had bought together not too long ago. You’d gotten more than you anticipated to get, finding that it had taken you several trips in between your shopping cart and the trunk of your car to load everything in. You checked your watch. Clay had been streaming for about half an hour before you left and from what you knew, most of his streams didn’t usually last more than two hours.
You called his phone, juggling the milk in one hand and a reusable bag in the other. Your own phone was pressed between your ear and your shoulder as you used your pinky to open up the door connecting the garage to the house. He picked up a moment later.
“Hey, what’s up?” he asked. You could hear the sounds of his keyboard clicking in the background, a pang of guilt running through you as you realized that he was most likely still streaming.
“Nevermind,” you were quick to say, setting the milk jug on the counter. “You’re still streaming, just wanted to know if you were done and could help bring in the groceries but I can do it.”
“No, just give me a moment,” Clay said, shifting his focus from you to his stream. “Guys, I gotta go help my girlfriend really quick. Uh, George and Sapnap, entertain the stream for a quick moment.”
You heard him take his headphones off and get out of his chair before the office door opened upstairs. You hung up the phone, grinning as he slid around the corner with a smile on his face.
“Hi, baby,” you greeted him, kissing his cheek when he walked over to you. He blushed, peppering your face in kisses in order to hide his embarrassment. “How’s the stream going so far?”
“Terribly,” Clay groaned, rubbing his upper arm. He had told you that he was doing a stream involving a shock collar but you weren’t expecting him to do it today. “But maybe if you sat in the office and watched while I streamed, it wouldn’t be as bad.”
You scoffed, pushing him away from you. You took up the milk jug, opening the fridge and sliding it into its place. “Or, you can go get the rest of the groceries from the car and then maybe I’ll consider it. I still have to grade my papers, too, bubs.”
“I think the high schoolers can wait a little longer for their grades, babe,” he deadpanned. You looked over at him, laughing when you saw his pouted lip. He’d switched tactics by then, trying to get you to do what he wanted by attempting to look as utterly adorable as possible. It was endearing, that much was true.
“I’ll stay in the room instead of doing my work out here while you stream, how about that?” You asked, starting to unpack the groceries. He immediately perked up, nodding rapidly in agreement with the compromise you offered. You rolled your eyes playfully. “Now go get the bags from the car. You’ve got people waiting on you.”
His eyes widened as he realized that he had abandoned his audience of nearly a million viewers. He ran out to the car and grabbed the groceries in record time, coming back and setting them on the counter before giving you a quick kiss on the lips and yelling, “I love you!” as he disappeared back up the stairs and into the office.
You took your time putting the rest of the groceries away, listening to the faint sounds of Clay in pain for about ten minutes before ultimately deciding that you should make good on your promise.
You entered the room, closing the door behind you before grabbing your laptop and wheeling your chair over next to his. You pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before settling in next to him. It was mostly peaceful, Clay trying to hold in his screams as to not startle you each time he got shocked. At one point, he had decided to take a break to try and calm down. You took his hand in yours, rubbing soothing circles into the space between his thumb and his index finger.
“You okay?” you asked, looking up at him in concern. You had finished grading maybe a third of your papers, having been distracted by the gameplay for longer than you cared to admit.
“I’m fine,” he mumbled, wincing as he realized his mistake. He pushed the headset off his ears, yelling into his mic for George and Sapnap to shut up before putting it back on. You couldn’t hear what his friends were saying but you could read the chat that was displayed on his second monitor, his viewers going insane as they asked who he was talking to.
He muted his mic as quick as he could, looking over to you with wide eyes. “I’m so sorry, babe. I completely forgot I had my mic on.”
“It’s okay,” you reassured him, still rubbing circles into his hand. “We’ve been together, what, five years? They would have found out sooner or later.”
“But your job…” he looked at you.
“They don’t need to know my real name,” you giggled. “They’ll most likely end up calling me ‘Dream’s Girlfriend,’ or something. Like how they call your mom ‘Dream’s Mom,’ and Tommy’s ‘Motherinnit’.”
“Are you sure?”
“Talk about me all you want,” you assured him. “But just don’t say that I’m a bitch and that you don’t like me.”
“The bar is so much lower than I ever imagined,” he quoted back at you, laughing slightly as he turned his mic back on. You figured you wouldn’t be getting any more work done that night so you opted to close your laptop. You scooted in closer to him, steering clear of the shock collar on his arm.
“Hey, guys,” he talked to his chat. “Sorry I keep disappearing on you guys. Uhm, I guess we can take this moment to have a chat? I kind of want a break from getting shocked a thousand times over.”
He disconnected his headphones so you could hear the conversation going on between him and his friends as well. Immediately, the familiar voices of George and Sapnap flooded the room, both yelling about how Clay had never told them about you before.
You leaned in closer to the mic, looking back at Clay and laughing for a bit before speaking up. “Hi, guys!” you said. “I’m, uh, Dream’s Girlfriend, I suppose.”
“‘I suppose,’” Sapnap chortled as he repeated your words. You flushed, realizing your most likely poor choice of words. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Be nice, Sapnap,” George scolded the younger man. You couldn’t help but laugh. “She’s probably nervous or something.”
“I am very nervous,” you giggled. You felt Clay’s hand grab yours, squeezing slightly as a bit of encouragement. “Uh, someone in the chat asked how long Dream and I have been dating… It’s been a little over five years now. We celebrated our anniversary back in July, actually.”
“Best five years of my life,” Clay added, reaching out to tickle your sides. You shrieked, squirming away from his hands.
“Baby, no!” you yelled, gasping in surprise as you fell over into his lap. He pulled you in close, settling you on his lap as he read the chat over your shoulder.
“What’s her name?” he read. “Her name is Dream’s Girlfriend. When did we meet? We met while I was still in school, actually. We were friends for, I think, two years before I asked her out.”
You nodded along. “Yeah, two years sounds about right. Also, I distinctly remember it being me to ask you out, not the other way around.” You brought your watch up to your face, noticing the time. “But I digress. I have to go make dinner so you should hurry up and beat Minecraft so we can eat together.”
“What are you making?”
“I’m thinking ziti,” you teased, getting up off his lap. You gave him a quick kiss before leaving him to his stream. You grabbed your phone off your desk before heading downstairs, opening Twitter as you went.
See, that was the thing about total anonymity. You could have a stan Twitter account, decorated by Clay himself, to keep up to date with everything going on in his life. While he asked about your day, you could take your lunch break to catch up on the latest Twitter events.
Today, as expected, the latest Twitter event was you. People were going crazy, tweeting about Dream’s Girlfriend and speculating on who it could be. You liked a few tweets, laughing at the ones that didn’t make sense as the pasta boiled. A few mutuals, people you had actually become close friends with, were messaging you like crazy, all shouting about, well, you.
I wish I were Heather, your friend typed out, sending the audio clip from the five minutes you’d talked during. You got a good laugh out of that, reacting to her message with the laughing emoji. You finished making dinner, occasionally responding to the group chat as you did. About thirty minutes after you’d left Clay, you finally heard him wrapping up the stream, thanking his viewers before signing off.
“I’m gonna head to dinner now,” you heard him say to his friends. You didn’t hear their response but you heard Clay’s, which was, “Yeah, I know.”
He came bounding down the steps about ten minutes later, stretching his arms over his head as he yawned. He rubbed his arm a few times, wincing as he felt the aftershocks from the shock collar.
“Do you want to take a bath tonight?” you suggested, plating the pasta for him. He entered the kitchen, wrapping his arms around your midsection as you finished pouring the pesto sauce on his plate. He pressed feather-light kisses into your neck, tickling you with the facial hair he had grown over the past couple of weeks.
“And maybe I’ll shave,” he contemplated, tickling you further. You giggled, reaching a hand up to scratch his growing beard.
“I like it though,” you admitted. “Makes you seem older, more refined.”
“But you won’t let me do… things when I have a beard.”
“Because when you do things with a beard, it causes, like, carpet burn.”
He hummed. “I’m going to shave.”
“You should check Twitter, by the way,” you mentioned nonchalantly. “Your stans are having a meltdown.”
He pulled out his phone, holding it in front of you as he opened the app. Immediately, his feed refreshed and there was nothing but mentions of Dream and his mysterious girlfriend. One tweet caught your eye, reading, I don’t think that Dream actually has a girlfriend and it’s just Sapnap with a voice filter on.
You both laughed at that one, taking his phone so that you could like it and respond, You got me, with the laughing emoji after. “That’s just going to confuse them more,” he said, shutting his phone off. “But enough about that, dinner looks amazing.”
“Made with love,” you cooed, turning in his arms to give him a kiss. He moved the two of you to the side, pressing you against the counter instead of the stove. Your arms made their way around his neck, twisting into the base of his dirty blonde hair and pulling hard enough to pull a soft moan from his lips.
He was the first to pull away, his need for air outweighing his want to continue kissing you. You continued to kiss down his neck, giggling when he groaned in reaction to you sucking a hickey into his sweet spot.
“I love you,” he said, once you’d finally separated. “And I know that everyone is excited that I have a girlfriend now, but if you start seeing hate, please tell me. I don’t want you to have to go through that alone.”
“I love you, too,” you sighed, tracing shapes into his chest. “And I’m a big girl, Clay. I’m sure I can handle a few trolls on my own.”
He put his hand under your chin, gently guiding your eyes up to meet his. “I know you can handle yourself, but you shouldn’t have to. Promise me you’ll tell me.”
It was cute, how overprotective over you he was. He looked at you with concern, looking to be debating between sending a tweet to his fans to be respectful and making a video and posting it. Most of his fandom was respectful, though there were a few people that went out of their way to send hate.
You sighed, lowering your shoulders and settling into his chest. He rested his chin on the top of your head as you muttered a quiet promise to him. You knew that Clay just wanted to keep you safe, which was part of the reason as to why you gave in so easily. He only had your best interests at heart and you knew that.
“You’re the most important person to me, I hope you know that.”
“I do,” you said softly. “And you’re the most important to me. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”

Peter Maximoff x Reader Masterlist
—————————
“So you really weren’t going to tell me that you just said ‘screw it, peace out, guys!’, and pulled the sacrifice card to throw yourself out of a plane?”
Peter’s voice carried through the barracks as he looked at you like you were the crazy one for once.
“Well...it was in the middle of crashing at the time.” You countered, much quieter by comparison and looking to Jean or Kurt for any help here. Some of you were sitting on the floor, others on the beds, roughly in a circle as you talked.
But Kurt only piped up to make it worse. “Yes, I did not like that at all. Next time we must find another way. I thought too that you’d chosen to go down with the plane so we could escape, (Y/N).”
“But you can fly right? None of us could fly.” Scott butted in a bit unexpectedly though, on your side of the argument no less.
“(Y/N) can levitate like me.” Jean corrected. “The flying is newer though, not yet perfected.” She smiled at you then in a way that told you she wasn’t about to let you back out of getting credit for that risk taken in Egypt. “You still hit the ground, hard.” She added. “I went back in your mind to make sure you’d made it after we teleported.”
The others all looked at you, and you tried not to lose your nerve. “My energy field was still up though when I hit. That’s the important part...”
“I mean I could jump off a building with a helmet on, I’m pretty sure it still wouldn’t work out for my head.” Peter retorted, though with a very self aware look before he finished. “And no, that’s not what’s wrong with me.”
Scott actually laughed at that, which surprised both you and Peter at least. Maybe he was different when alone with Jean, but in front of the group he’d stayed fairly no nonsense since Egypt. Though who could blame him for being a bit uptight after all he’d been through recently.
“We did all get pretty wrecked.” Peter admitted after a moment though. “Thanks for the save, Jean. Up top.” He held his hand up in front of her to signal for a high five.
She obliged, but a bit half heartedly. “I had the Professor in my head though, egging me on. He helped me unlock that. But I still couldn’t have done anything if you all hadn’t held that guy in place for that long for me. He just would have escaped.”
“I wonder what happened to the woman?” Kurt considered. “Do you think she learned her lesson too?”
“I doubt it,” Ororo answered then. “We called her Psylocke. But she just wanted to be more powerful. I don’t think she’d care now about who we hurt.” She looked at all of you at that. “I am sorry...if I hadn’t said well enough before. I thought he wanted to make the world better for us, but he didn’t. He really did just want to control everyone, human and mutant alike. I was wrong.”
Scott shrugged. “You figured it out by the time it really mattered.”
“And he probably just would have tried to kill you if you’d shown disloyalty any sooner than that,” You agreed.
“Can’t stay mad at anybody with a sick mohawk like that anyway.” Peter commented too, clearly admiring her hair.
Ororo chuckled. “If I’d known other mutants like you all before, things likely would have been a lot different.”
“Well you know us now.” Jean offered.
“Yes, I’m new here too,” Kurt added. “There’s a lot to learn. I’m glad Raven found me as well to bring me to the school. I never had mutant friends either in the circus.”
“Woah, wait. You were in a circus? Like the whole bit? Elephants and clowns and stuff?” Peter turned his head to look at him, curiosity easily peaked.
“Ja.” Kurt replied.
As those two went off into a separate conversation about whether or not there’d been bearded ladies, strong men, and the like in the Bavarian circus, you just looked back to Jean.
“We’ll definitely have a lot to catch up on when we get home. You think Jubilee is going to be mad that she missed all the action?” You asked, only half joking.
“Oh man,” Jean conceded. “She’ll be all over us wanting details.”
But her next words surprised you a little as her voice so easily transitioned just into your mind afterward for privacy, her lips no longer moving.
“You know as soon as she finds out you met someone, she’s going to go nuts wanting details about Peter.”
You could only look at her for a moment. It was such a strange thing to consider. This had all happened so fast. But with her bringing up that point, it was the first time you’d really thought about what it would be like to potentially introduce him to other friends of yours back home, to try and communicate what he meant to you already.
Could you call him your boyfriend? Would you say you were dating? He’d already called himself that label, but did that mean you could say it? Would the others even believe it was possible to feel these things for someone you’d only known such a short time? Would they think you were naive, or just caught up in the whirlwind of the moment and that this would all fade?
“Hey, relax. I wasn’t trying to send you into a tailspin.” Jean’s mental voice broke back through that wave of anxious thoughts. “I haven’t known Scott for very long either. If anyone wants to waste energy judging us, I would say that’s their problem.”
“Yeah,” You just answered then, remembering you still needed to respond in a way that made sense to the last thing she’d actually said out loud, about Jubilee. But you went quiet afterward, letting the others steer the conversation to new things as you all continued just trying to pass the time.
It wasn’t too very long later though when you’d had another visitor to the barracks. You were all a bit surprised to see Moira walk in, noticeably without the Professor and carrying something in her hands.
“Some new brass arrived today, or officials I mean. They wanted to speak to Charles themselves.” She said quickly, obviously realizing by your looks that you were all wondering the same thing of where he was. “But I wanted to come by and take care of this for the ones that needed pictures.”
As she spoke, she raised up the thing in her hands as if that should also be some clear explanation for her purpose here. It still took you a moment honestly to realize it for what it was, accompanied by what she’d said.
“For your licenses and passports that we’re printing.” She clarified anyway before continuing, the polaroid camera in her hands. “You two,” She pointed at you and Peter, and then at Raven. “And you. You already had valid driver’s licenses. We’ll reuse those photos for a new license and passport. Charles wanted everyone to have both, as you’ll still need to travel within the U.S. as well once we’re back. The rest of you I need current photos of.”
The thought of Peter actually taking the time to get a driver’s license seemed pretty absurd when he could travel anywhere much faster on foot, but before you could ask him anything, Hank was speaking up.
“But I already had a license and a passport,” Hank responded in some confusion.
Moira looked a little awkward, but still answered kindly. “But the pictures were of you before. It won’t match how you look right now for us to get back into the country.”
Raven snickered and Hank shot her an unamused look.
“Uh, but I can’t take off my glasses. You want me to take it with my eyes closed?” Scott asked dryly, though it was a legitimate question.
Belatedly you realized this also meant he’d been completely prepared to drive one of the Professor’s cars illegally then, before you’d asserted yourself to be the one to drive you all to the mall that day. This was a mental note you’d have to save for later.
“Glasses on is fine. We’ll note it as a medical exemption.” Moira answered easily, though already looking for a spot to have them stand against. “And this might actually be better to do in the hallway, if you could- Hey!” Her hands were abruptly empty, as she startled, then looking around.
You blinked after the flash that came almost simultaneously. A hand squeezed your shoulder before Peter pulled back away, the stolen camera in his other hand as the photo began to eject from it.
“I thought you couldn’t move like that with your leg,” Moira chided, now realizing what had happened. “And that thing isn’t mine to break, just so we’re clear.”
“You’re like three feet away, I don’t have to run if I can just lean over and grab it.” Peter responded smoothly, pulling the photo out before offering her back the camera. “So what, that thing is CIA issue? If I push the wrong button is it going to laser me or something?”
“No.” She huffed. But didn’t look as if she wished to extend the conversation any further to get drug into this right now. She just motioned for the others to follow her into the hall as she then turned away. “Come on, guys. We’ll try to make this quick.”
Peter didn’t seem to mind either way, just putting his attention back to the photo he was now holding as if it were a prize. “What do you think?” He asked you after a moment, the image becoming more and more visible as the film developed.
You saw yourself there, though surprisingly not a terrible image considering you hadn’t even been prepared. Your expression in the photo was simply neutral, glancing elsewhere even as Peter’s smile was wide and bright, him leaning in with his face almost touching yours in the photograph.
“I’ve taken worse,” you said truthfully, but then looked back to him, amused at his seeming satisfaction with it. You wondered if he was actually planning on keeping the photo, instead of it just being a little joke. Wouldn’t he rather a better one at least?
“What?” He questioned, seeing your expression. He flicked the photo gently. “It proves you’re real if anyone asks later.”
“Why would you have to prove...” But you ended up just smiling, and gave up before you even really started, seeing how happy he still looked. “If you want a picture together, I’m sure she’d let us take another if we asked. You know, if we asked nicely, and didn’t just steal her camera this time.”
“I like this one.” He insisted though, holding onto it regardless. “It really looks like you.”
“Um...wouldn’t I always look like me?” You asked quizzically.
“It’s real,” He tried to explain. “Natural? If we took another you’d just smile on purpose.”
You still didn’t fully understand. He was smiling in the picture after all. But to his point maybe, he did look almost giddy in the photo. Not something you would be able to replicate on command. “Okay.” You said, fine either way. “If you like that best.”
“There is something I think I’m going to ask Moira anyway though when she comes back,” He admitted.
It wasn’t very long either until you were able to find out what that was.
When the others did start to file back in after taking their pictures in the hallway, Moira had just leaned in the doorway briefly to thank them. “We’ll have these made up in time for tomorrow for your travel documents, thank you.”
She was already turning to leave again before Peter stopped her.
He cocked his head, piping up. “Hey, can I ask you something?”
She did pause, but her look back at him was slightly wary. Likely not knowing if this would be more humor or not. “Yes?”
He didn’t mess around though this time, just getting to the point outright. “Do you think you could send somebody to my Mom’s house? You know, just to say everything’s cool and I’ll be home soon? She’s probably losing her mind right now.”
Moira’s expression changed fully at that, empathy going to the forefront. “Of course. Yes. What’s her name? Her address?”
That mood faded just as quickly though as he raised his eyebrows, teasing. “Well shouldn’t the CIA know that?”
She sighed. Staring at him as the annoyed look returned.
“You’re so serious,” Peter smirked. “Magda Maximoff, suburbs outside D.C.” He rattled off a street address afterward, but still continued, “We’re in the phonebook anyway. Prof.’s been there too, he’d know.”
“We’ll look it up.” She agreed. “See you guys later.”
With that she was gone. The rest of you settled back, just sitting and talking again. And you’d gone off with Peter down by your beds after a while. Just the two of you again.
You’d realized obviously before now by their interactions that the Professor had met Peter at some point previous to his coming to the mansion the other day. But like so many things, in the rush of everything, you hadn’t learned much more.
“So Xavier’s been to your house. Was he trying to recruit you for the school?” You asked, honestly just curious. Though it was a little disappointing to consider you may have had a chance to meet Peter much sooner if he’d accepted any kind of invitation like that then.
You had been sitting on the bottom bunk together again, but he leaned back behind you now, stretching before putting his arms behind his head. He pulled his legs and cast awkwardly back up into the bed as you shifted to try and let him get how he wanted.
He looked pretty content though as he lowered an arm back to put it across your lap. “Well that was years ago. He had hair, he was walking. He didn’t want me for your little private school though. He just wanted me to help them spring my dad from the Pentagon...but I don’t think he knew it was my dad either then. It was all Logan’s plan to bring me. Really I didn’t find out much else. These dudes just showed up at my house, and I went with them to commit a felony.” He shrugged a little. “Probably not that smart, right? But I didn’t have anything else cool to do that day I guess.”
You wondered how much of that story Xavier would really tell you if you asked one day. You could only imagine what reasoning someone like the Professor would have to do something so brazen, even if it was to help Erik. Especially when Xavier had always preached to you all the importance of staying within the law and not using your powers to exploit any rules that would apply to non mutants. For now, you only asked a little bit more though. “How many people actually came to your house to do that then?”
“Oh, it was just three. Prof., Hank, and Logan.”
Well that made it even more interesting really. Hank was also so well known for always following the rules. But then again, he also was one of Xavier’s longest friends, like Raven and Erik. They’d all known each other since many years ago.
But this was the second time Peter had said this name of ‘Logan’. Shouldn’t you know that name? Well yes, you knew at least one. You couldn’t forget the name Jean had told you back in Stryker’s base. The man who’d gone on a rampage, though also cutting you violently from your own restraints before he’d escaped. Honestly you might even have scars from that when this was all said and done. But the name in and of itself wasn’t that unusual of a name. And what Peter was talking about apparently occurred years ago.
“I don’t think I know a Logan,” You said honestly. “Was he a mutant too?”
“Oh hell yeah,” Peter answered, raising up a closed fist. He made a noise, and a motion you didn’t understand as if he was doing something in midair with his fist, before adding. “Three big claws come shooting out this dude’s hand. It was so gross, but badass.”
You stared, the realization finally hitting hard. It couldn’t be a coincidence then. “Peter!” You exclaimed abruptly. There was just no way they were two different people. It was too unique of a mutation. “That’s the guy!”
“Huh?” He looked up at you in surprise. Confused at your sudden excitement.
“The one from the base! Didn’t Jean tell you?” Without thought, you lifted your shirt enough to show him those long claw marks still red across your stomach. They were dry now, already trying to heal. But it was three in a row, still clear as day. “The guy that tore through all those soldiers and freed me, she told me that his name was Logan.”
“She didn’t tell me that.” Peter stammered slightly, definitely caught off guard as you’d raised your shirt. “She just said to expect you to be bloody when I went looking for you.” He was staring at your exposed skin now though. “So Logan did that?”
You tensed slightly as you felt his fingertips graze your abdomen. It wasn’t unpleasant, just a bit unexpected. You lowered your shirt back down, but noticed obviously when he just let his hand stay under it.
When you didn’t show further aversion to the touch though, his hand continued idly wandering on the skin that was unbroken. “Well damn, that’s super screwed up then. I know they said a guy went full rage mode and tore the place up. And yeah, I saw the bodies he left when I went looking for you. But they didn’t say his name. I didn’t see him either before he took off.”
“It has to be the same person.” You reiterated. “But if you really want to be sure, you can always think of those memories of him, the Logan that you knew. If you let Jean look into your thoughts later, she could tell you for certain if it was him.
Peter looked a little disconcerted, but just agreed anyway. “Yeah, sure. I just, man how long did they have him there then? What a dick that Stryker guy was. Fuck him.”
But after the little bit of anger, he was only looking back at you. That thought of Stryker seeming to also remind him of your initial meeting with him. “How’s your ribs?”
You felt his fingers trail up across them at the question. “Sore,” You admitted. “But what isn’t?”
His voice was quieter then though, his hand moving back down before it reached your chest. “Then don’t jump out of any more planes please.”
You paused, wondering if he really was so bothered about that to have brought it up again. You’d all played so fast and loose that day though, doing whatever you felt you had to do. “It was a big day of firsts that’s for sure.”
“No kidding.” He agreed.
And nothing was ever going to be the same again was it? Even when you were all home again and the mansion was finally rebuilt. Were you all just going to go back to class like you hadn’t almost died? Would you just pretend that you didn’t know there were still entities out there that wanted you dissected, destroyed, or both?
“I think it gave the Professor a lot to think about too.” Is what you finally said. “I feel like he’s going to change some things going forward. But I don’t know how much yet. I don’t know if this could really mean the resurrection of the X-Men.” It was a crazy thought. Xavier and Hank never really liked to talk about that part of their past. They’d lost a lot then, or at least that’s always what you’d inferred from the bits and pieces you had heard over the years.
“X-Men...” Peter repeated, making a face like he wasn’t sure if it was a decent name or not. “Guess it’d still be better than being called Charlie X’s Angels or something like that.”
You smirked. “You know they used to all have codenames too.” Though you were sure not all of them were self named. “Xavier was just Professor X, Hank was Beast, Raven was Mystique, Scott’s brother Alex was Havok, your dad was Magneto of course. But there was Banshee, Darwin, and Tempest as well.”
He gave you a contemplative look. “Can I call you Lite-Brite then?”
Your look must have clearly said no, but he just kept going, very amused at your reaction.
“Glo-Worm?” He offered instead.
“Seriously? You’d name me after a bug?”
“Nah, they’ve got these super cute toy ones. Wanda had one. She slept with that thing all the time. They glow when you hug them.” He was grinning again now. “I mean, you’re comforting too right? Think I could make you glow?”
“I don’t think it works that way.” But honestly you might be lying to save face as he was now rubbing his hand further up into your shirt again.
“Don’t we all lose a little control when we get excited?” He countered, his tone getting a little more dangerous. “I know I do.”
You felt that statement was likely a bit of a trap, hesitating as your curiosity swelled. What could happen with his powers if he did have an uncontrolled moment like that? He was likely right though. Just like the onset of mutant powers came for most of you around the same time as puberty, they could also be triggered by intense emotions or stress. So it was reasonable to think that another powerful feeling such as arousal could also lead to some issues for those of you already less experienced in controlling yourselves.
“Brings a whole new meaning to safe sex doesn’t it?” He said as he let go of you then, putting his hands back behind his head. He still looked too amused, even though he seemed to sense when you needed another break from the touching to process your own thoughts.
“Did that happen with her?” You asked though. Not afraid, but yes, maybe some concern in your expression. You really hadn’t considered any of this before.
His smile faded at the unexpected mention of Crystal again. But he only hesitated a little, looking at you as he answered honestly. “Sometimes. She uh, burnt me a couple times. In the literal sense. She was like the band, Earth, Wind, and Fire. I mean she could control water too, but I liked the band joke better.” He frowned slightly. “She always hated that joke though.”
“Did you do anything to her?” You responded quietly before you could think better of it. Was this really any of your business? No, not really. But, it could be a part of your future.
There was a little surprise in his eyes, but his answer was immediate. “Babe, I’m the last person you’d ever have to be afraid of.” He looked bothered still as he continued though. “And no, I never hurt her. She would have knocked me into next week if I had.”
“So what does happen if you lose control that way?” You still asked, deciding you still did want to know.
He gave you an awkward look. But if he was going to offer out this information, it seemed there was going to at least be a small price for it. “If I’m really riled up? Turned on? You can say it outright you know.”
You weren’t going to say it in any more explicit way than that though, but you nodded at least. “Yes, you know what I mean.”
He sighed at your modesty, but reached out his hand after a moment. “Let me see your wrist then. Way easier just to show you.”
Well, if it was anything dangerous, he wouldn’t be so casual about it would he? You did offer him your wrist, not knowing what to expect as he clasped his hand around it.
You could tell he was focusing on something for just a moment, before the oddest sensation you’d ever felt shot from your wrist, down into your fingertips, and all the way up into your shoulder before you jerked your hand back in surprise.
Your reaction didn’t seem to faze him at all though as he’d easily let you go. It looked like you’d only done exactly as he expected. “You’ll still feel it for a bit after, just so you know.”
And you could still feel it, fading but definitely there as you flexed your fingers. “What did you do?” It wasn’t painful, but it was like a tingling, instantaneous whenever he’d done it. Not just through the skin, but into the bone, the muscle, everything. The only thing you could liken it to at all is when a limb woke up from being asleep, yet it wasn’t as uncomfortable as that and it was far deeper.
“Well you asked what happens if I get too excited. I, uh, vibrate?” He tried to call it something without really knowing what to call it. “I’m no science guy, but I’d guess it moves everything I’m touching down to what, the atoms right? So that’s what you’d feel. But it wouldn’t just be from my hand. I was doing it on purpose there. If it wasn’t on purpose it’d be literally all of me doing it.”
So that would mean, well...that would be a very intense sensation to say the least if you would happen to be having skin to skin contact in more places than one when he would accidentally do that. You tried not to let your expression change much at the realization. The last thing you wanted to do was to throw this very personal dialog further down into the gutter.
“I still think you’d glow though.” He added confidently. “And if your energy deal is always as warm as it was in that elevator shaft back at the base, I think it’d feel really good too. Just for the record.”
Yes, this was definitely teetering on that edge of going fully into a place you weren’t ready for just yet. But you only had yourself to blame. You asked him to elaborate, and he did. You knew your powers could be a lot more than harmless though. Much more than warmth. You didn’t know if it’d be too pessimistic to mention that right now though.
“I don’t know what I would do.” You finally said, just speaking the truth when you didn’t know what else to say.
“We can talk about something else you know if you want.” He poked you gently in the arm, seemingly offering you an escape route if you wished to take it. “Like we’re still going to the mall at some point right?”
“Definitely.” You answered gladly.
“You should come over too, play some video games when we get back. I’ve got an Atari and a Nintendo. Or we could watch a movie. You like Bruce Lee? Karate Kid? Stuff like that?”
The genuine eagerness emerging in his tone was something you really appreciated. A reminder that in reality, even though he evidently enjoyed any physical contact he was allowed to have with you, it was only a part of the whole picture. He just wanted to be around you too.
“Yes, I think that’d be awesome. I haven’t seen many of those movies, but usually Jubilee picks for movie night. Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles...over and over.”
He laughed. “Oh, no way. There’s more to life than Molly Ringwald. Time to expand your horizons!”
You were smiling too, about to say something back when Scott’s voice carried from further down the barracks.
“Hey, they brought dinner if either of you want to eat!”
“But is it even worth a crap!?” Peter called back immediately and just as loudly.
“Heck if I know!” Scott answered and you could swear you heard a lot less loud Jean tell him to quit yelling in her ear.
“I’m still salty about that fake strawberry garbage from earlier.” Peter said, just to you then as he sat back up.
It wasn’t much of a surprise to you though that the food would be brought to you all this time, considering the episode in the mess hall before. The only thing that did surprise you was that it would already be dinner time. Though it was hard to have much concept of time right now really, especially when there were no windows to see the sun or sky below deck.
But it did give it more of that prison feel too. The hours running together, locked away in close quarters, and now with government mandated food being dropped off impersonally. It either felt like prison or being in a rare species exhibit at the zoo.
“Well, you said you’re like a hummingbird metabolism wise, right? You have to eat something.” You spoke, while hanging back to give Peter a chance to get up on his crutches.
Really the hummingbird analogy you were liking more and more though as you personally thought they were adorable, and they literally were the bird equivalent to him in your opinion. This flamboyant little bird that beat its wings so fast it could actually hover in place or disappear in a blur once they did decide to take off. Not to mention the exclusive high sugar diet.
“Glo-Worm,” Was all he replied back, but very pleased when it still got a strong reaction from you.
“Please don’t make that one stick. It’s a lot less cute than Hummingbird.”
But he just offered a non-committal smile, walking past you. “We’ll see.”
——————————
Some few hours later, when it was time for lights out again, Peter had wanted to take a shower so you were already in the bottom bunk alone.
You tried to stay awake to wait for him, but you must have already been asleep for how bad you startled when you felt something pressing down against the mattress beside you.
And when you shot up, you were even more confused at the sudden pressure against the top of your head before you finally woke up enough to realize Peter now had his hand splayed there, pushing your head back a little.
“Woah,” He whispered in the dark. “You about nailed the top of the bunk. It’s just me.”
You relaxed, trying to look at him before you felt him let go, laying down beside you. As you laid down as well, he shifted several times, trying to get comfortable.
“I hate this damn cast.” He complained. “Do you know how weird it is to have to shower with a garbage bag tied around your leg?”
You could feel his still wet hair though on the pillow as he nuzzled in closer with you. You’d both joked a little earlier about looking forward to getting to share this bed one more time tonight before heading back to the U.S. and your sort of more normal lives tomorrow. The emphasis of the joking though had been about getting to continue the kissing that had been interrupted on the flight deck.
But now that you were here, you found you really just wanted to hold him and enjoy the warmth and quiet together. Because you didn’t know when this chance would come again. Would you go your separate ways tomorrow? You back to New York and wherever the other displaced students were now staying, and him back to D.C. to reunite with his mother? He wouldn’t be able to run and come to find you again until his cast was off. And how many weeks would that take, even with mutant healing factors?
You didn’t really know what the exact plan was after you’d arrive in the U.S. either, but maybe there was something you could do after all. “Hey.” You said quietly after a bit, hoping he was still awake.
“Mmm?” He made a questioning noise, hugging a bit tighter to you.
You took it as enough response to say that he was listening. “So they said that we’re landing in New Jersey tomorrow, right? Well everyone else is going to want to go north to get back to Salem Center, New York.” You didn’t really need to clarify where the school had been though, he’d obviously already found it. “But you’ll need to go south to get back to D.C., and it’s not like Xavier is going to expect you to find your own way home. Someone’s going to have to drive you and-”
But Peter didn’t even let you finish, already very on board with the idea. “And we give Prof. the old puppy eyes and beg for it to be you.” You knew he was grinning again then just by his tone. “I like it. Road trip.”
You felt relief that he approved of your spur of the moment plan, but then again he’d already said he wanted you to come over to his house sometime. You wouldn’t be able to stay very long you were sure, but at least you’d get the car ride together if this all worked out. And you’d get to see where he lived, maybe even hang out for a little while before having to drive back to New York.
It was funny how just like that you now had something to look forward to again. But would Xavier really be on board? Would he feel comfortable letting you drive back alone? You’d just have to convince him that you were old enough now and capable.
“I guess I should have cleaned my room a little better before I left.” Peter mused. “Can be a bit of a train wreck, just like the dude that lives in it.”
“Oh, someone else lives there too?” You teased slightly.
But Peter only played along. “Yeah, a real piece of work. Guy just plays video games all day, and wears out the same shitty records playing them over and over with the volume up. Maybe reads some comic books or jets off to nab some Twinkies from the convenience store down the block. Real outstanding citizen. I heard he’s dating now though. Who the hell would want that charity project?”
“Hmm.” You knew he was only half joking, Peter really still seeing himself in the way he just described to a large degree. But you were patient, and determined to keep working on building his self confidence little by little. “I think if he met someone then, it’d be someone who believes in the old ‘diamond in the rough’ expression. They must really just like him for him. They probably even see his real value even when he can’t yet.”
Peter was quiet for a few moments at that before you felt him run a hand through your hair. “I guess that would make him really lucky then. He probably should bust his ass to make sure he doesn’t disappoint them then and screw that one up.”
You smiled softly. “All he has to do is be himself. If you have to fight too hard just to maintain a relationship, it likely was never right to begin with.”
“Been there, done that.” He at least agreed, but was now running his fingers down along your face.
You knew what he was hoping for and leaned in to meet him as you kissed. It was very soft though, like he was still thinking of what you’d said. He didn’t press for much more either, just a few more kisses before he nuzzled his face back down against you.
“I’m still going to do the best I can.” He spoke quietly against your neck. “I want you to be happy.”
“I am.” You said. Feeling every bit of those words as you stayed warm against one another. It felt safe. It felt right.
And no one said anything else. You were both content to leave it that way, falling asleep just as you were.

Just A Bet (GeorgeNotFound)
MASTERLIST
pairing : georgenotfound / george x reader - dreamwastaken/dream / clay x reader
summary : you’re just a bet to him. that is, until he realizes that you’re someone with a title. he scrambles to pick up your broken pieces, but he doesn’t realise that he’s too late. (angst) (trigger warning) (happy ending)
a/n : here’s sorta a little AU for you guys, don’t take any of this seriously, some things in this are clearly made up. side note ; holy shit i have more than a 100 followers right now. thank you so so much.
everyone has probably dreamt of being a princess, a real one. for example, when the movie ‘the princess diaries’ came out, people wanted to be mia thermopolis and rule genovia.
sounds like a dream, that is, to be going to high school and have plenty of paparazzi’s chasing you, or to be able to be recognized everywhere.
in reality, it is the complete opposite of living the dream. you could barely walk out without being recognized if you didn’t cover up your face in some way. you were restricted to do many things, even to just hang out with your friends to grab lunch.
to other people, they might just tell you to suck it up, that in the end of the day, you’re royalty, and that these are only tiny problems.
you agreed, sure. but you did want to smell the fresh flowers outside. you wanted to be able to get food from wherever, with whoever without people’s prying eyes.
you just wanted freedom.
to whom might be reading this might be confused. you’re a princess. just like the movie, yes. princess of saudi arabia, you are.
you are fairly young, still in your twenties. most people your age are out having fun going on a girls night, or still studying for their degrees, or even working right now.
but you were prohibited to leave the castle. you were told to leave on the queen’s orders, only during meal times.
some days, you really liked it, being a princess. if you weren’t being egoistical, you would say that your face really did suit the royal title.
you didn’t have to leave your room to make stacks of money. but the problem with that was, what would you do with the money if you couldn’t leave the house?
so you went on the internet. you settled on the internet. with the queen’s permission, of course.
sure, she can be strict like all the time, but she tried her best to give you your freedom. so she let you have social media accounts. you being you, the public immediately found your accounts.
you couldn’t find new friends, they were too scared to come across you. so you just entertained yourself.
this isn’t bragging, but a lot of people knew who you were, but that doesn’t mean everyone does.
since you barely had a childhood, with being born and raised royal, you entertained yourself watching minecraft youtubers. for some reason, it calmed you.
dream team, as you called the group, caught your eye. you watched all of their videos, caught up with every single live streams of theirs, even followed their instagrams and twitters.
one morning, when you woke up, you found your instagram notifications fuller than other days. you were fairly confused. that is, until you realised that the whole of dream team had followed you back.
they definitely know who you are and what you do now, right? they have a large fanbase, surely, they would’ve told the boys.
your followers, since seeing the boys follow you, have told you to start playing games. you didn’t disappoint them. you asked your parents if you could and they granted you permission to do whatever you wanted.
they told you “this would entertain the public and love you even more.” and smiled at you. you thought maybe they hit themselves in the head today with the leniency they gave you. but you pushed that thought. maybe they thought you have grown old enough.
valkyrae, a streamer on twitch had reached out to you after knowing about your gaming desires. she asked if you wanted to join her and her group to play among us together.
you almost immediately agreed and the rest of her friends welcomed you in with opened arms.
your mum gave you one condition, that you had to follow in order to film yourself playing games. that is, if you kept yourself poised and respectable. you agreed to her shenanigans and started to play with rae.
playing with her meant that you met countless different content creators, such as corpse husband and pokimane. they all were super nice to you, even when you had told them that they didn’t have to be nice to you because of your title.
soon you had found yourself in an amazing group of friends and you felt great about yourself.
you and rae had sustained such amazing friendship that she had came over to your house multiple times for meals.
you’d text her “come over to my house, let’s eat lunch.”
and she’d reply with “your castle you mean?” she jokes around.
your friendship was loved by many people out there.
one thing you didn’t say was that not everyone was obligated to know who you are, which then happens to be funny to see when they did end up finding out who you are.
just the fact that they show such shock to their faces, and the tone in their voice changes.
“holy fuck, she’s royal.” toast says as he came back from googling your name to know more about how you came about in a game of among us.
“i’m so sorry for the past rounds.” he apologizes for the time he accuses you for no reason.
“please treat me the same way you used to, i’m just y/n when i’m playing games, definitely not a princess.” you told him.
you didn’t have a big ego, although your parents did. “they need to know that you’re important.” they told you, but it never stuck to you. you wanted to be respected as a person, for your personalities, not because of a stupid title you were born in.
sykkuno, rae and you had decided to make an smp, where you three would start building things for fun and stream it.
you three had enough fun until it got boring, for you to start asking your other friends to join. the first person you offered to tour your little world was corpse since you and him had clicked so well.
because you started playing minecraft and streaming it, it got the attention of minecraft youtubers. and for some reason, the seventeen year old, tommyinnit had found you interesting enough to talk to you.
with tommy being that close to you, you attracted tubbo and wilbur soot, as well.
“i am in a vc with a princess.” tommy had said on stream when you two decided to play minecraft along with tubbo and wilbur.
sure, the teenage boy got a little annoying at times, but you found it entertaining and funny. of course, tommy being tommy, he’d ask slightly personal questions about how royalty works in saudi arabia.
not that he knew how royalty works in general, anyways.
“the queen is still my favourite woman, but you come in close second.” he told you once. you laughed at that.
no big title could stop you from fangirling the moment the man, dream itself had sent you a donation, and then later sending you a direct message.
“let’s play minecraft together soon, seen me your discord.” he dmed you one day. of course you complied.
for some reason, you never had the chance to play with george, and you played minecraft with sapnap and dream separately, never together. not that you were complaining.
you decided on a more chill and laid back stream on that specific day, not really feeling like going on a minecraft server or play among us with your bestfriends when you got a text from an unknown number.
hey. they sent
who’s this? you sent a text back.
my bad, this is george. they sent a text back to you.
holy shit. why would george text you. sure, you have played minecraft and among us with him sometimes but he isn’t one to give out his number so this was weird to you.
although you consider to be close to the entirety to the dream team, you often tried to avoid texting them, especially outside of streaming. you didn’t want it to be awkward or tense.
surprisingly, as your conversation with george lengthened, it became less and less awkward. the more you two texted, the more you felt like you and him had been friends for the longest time.
being the princess, raised in a castle meant that you didn’t really have a social life. other than being put together with some prince of another country in hopes you’ll fall in love with them or marry them, you haven’t really had a legitimate boyfriend. not even a crush.
to you, the princes in the world can be arrogant, snobby. they act like they are the most important thing in the world, that if they walk in a restaurant, everyone was to drop all their work for other people to entertain them.
sure, this could just be the way that they were raised, but you didn’t want that in a man, a husband. it wouldn’t kill to be a little humble.
princes are also a bore. they live practically the same lifestyle as you. conversations were never interesting, always the usual.
to summarise this, since you and george have been talking and texting, you had fallen for him. hard. and it seems like he’s feeling the same way, just that the both of you hadn’t really said anything.
-
DREAM’S POV
being really close friends with someone, more than one person, bestfriends, that is, meant that we had a group chat together.
nothing constructive was ever said, only boys being boys.
nick was the one to bring it up. and since he is the youngest, he sure does say some stupid things.
dude, you should try to get in y/n’s pants. nick asked george in the groupchat.
there was a running joke between the nick and i. george lives under a rock, basically. when everyone was walking on eggshells around you, trying not to offend a princess, he never really cared.
and that was when nick and i found out that george had no clue you held such a title on your pretty little head.
you are a beautiful girl, no doubting that. i was sure that many people, even before you started streaming had a major crush on you. george definitely fits right in. he was practically vomiting hearts when he first saw you.
it was meant to be funny. it was never meant to go this far. nick didn’t mean for his little bet to break a heart, let alone a princess.
but he did. well, technically george did. he was so brutal with it. he toyed with your feelings, like he had no care in this world.
no one would’ve guessed that the little cute, short george would do something as bad as he did.
and now, no one can find you. no one.
you were there, smiling in front of your camera one day and you were gone the other. just gone. no one knew where you went.
granted, you are royal. it must not be hard to get people to hide you. but at the same time, you had major reporters trying to find you. and they couldn’t. what does that leave us?
where did you go?
come back.
and although i know you want to hear this from george instead of his friends, you won’t. because he probably doesn’t.
we miss you.
please just text us, we need to know you’re safe.
-
YOUR POV
you left. you had to. it had been extremely humiliating.
you didn’t think someone as sweet as george would do that, it all happened so quick.
you had flown to england to meet him. he encouraged you to. it felt amazing to leave your hometown, you’ve lived there all your life. you definitely needed to fresh air.
it took a lot of convincing your parents to let you fly to england. without a doubt, you knew that the only way you’ll get to leave is if you had a guard with you.
this isn’t that kind of cliche story, your guard could literally be your dad, get your head out of the gutter, you are utterly in love with george, and you were sure george knew that and that’s why he encouraged you to fly to him.
the first couple of days were fun. he brought you to all over brighton for you to experience what it’s like in england. he told you he wanted you to get your first real experience as a tourist, and that was what he did.
winding down for the night, you brought him to relax in your hotel suite. frankly, george was surprised that you could afford such a place. but he didn’t want to ask where you got the money from, he didn’t really care.
all he wanted to do was to complete his dare. his ego was too big to lose this time.
that night was when you decided to tell him about your feelings about him. you were pretty confident that it was going to go smooth sailing. just the way he treated you showed so much about his feelings.
so you did, you told him. while you told him that you love him, more than friends love each other, he looked you in the eyes. you weren’t sure what that meant.
but he smiled. or smirked, you weren’t sure.
and he kissed you. and the night didn’t end with you just kissing.
so you thought the night was amazing, that it couldn’t get any better than that.
that was, until you woke up the next morning.
-
you woke up, sun shining straight into your suite, curtains wide open.
although you didn’t really feel the presence of another person in the room with you, you brushed it off. you felt like something was off, that something was missing.
you rolled over in your hotel bed, to see if the british man was laying next to you.
he wasn’t. in fact, he was not in the hotel room at all. you checked the bathroom, the small little living room in your suite. he was found nowhere.
you tried to see if he had left traces of himself in your hotel room, a sign that he was indeed there and that you hadn’t been dreaming it all.
but the pain between your legs caused by the brit told you that it was all not a dream.
so you did what a logical person would, text him. maybe he left to get food.
but you knew that wasn’t the case the moment you had unlocked your phone.
texts flood in, your social media notifications seemed to not be stopping anytime soon.
you opened your texts messages. a couple from your parents, a lot from rae, multiple from some minecraft youtubers who you called friends.
besides your parents, they were asking if you were okay. they were telling you to stay safe and to lay off social media for a while.
your parents were practically screaming at you through texts. they called you a disgrace, not an honour to the family. you didn’t understand where this was coming from.
you opened twitter, knowing that it was going to be the easiest way for you to find out what had happened, and why were you involved in it.
you were trending. number one worldwide. you clicked on your name. your phone left your hand, falling hard to your hotel floor with a loud thud as you covered your mouth with both your hands, crying.
two pictures. two photos that said it all.
first photo was of you in bed, obviously naked under the hotel duvet. you were still sleeping. there was light coming from the windows, that showed that it had barely been sunrise when it was taken.
second photo was what hit you the hardest. you wanted the earth to swallow you from below. it was a photo of your back, very naked back. it was clear that it was a photo that had been taken during sex.
and it was obvious who you had it with, because he was the one who posted it all over twitter.
george.
that was why he left, with no traces of him ever being in the hotel room.
you weren’t sure what was his motive. but you sure did know that he had completely broke you.
crying, you picked up your phone from the floor, calling rae.
“oh my god, tell me you’re okay.” she was panicking on the phone.
“i need to leave.” you told her. you knew that she would immediately understand the severity of the four words you told her.
since then, you never came back. to the eyes of public, it was as if you never even existed. you were gone.
-
you moved with rae.
she had to leave her roommates to settle in with you. her roommates weren’t mad at her for leaving them. they completely understood, you needed the help.
although her roommates wanted to help you, they couldn’t. you needed to have the least amount of people to be with you.
it didn’t help that they were all content creators, too.
rae told people that she moved because she wanted her own space, so that she can make better videos. when she announced she was moving, not one person speculated that you had been the reason of her move.
you paid for the house, you needed to. you owed her. no matter the amount of times she told you that you owed her nothing, that she was just doing it because she loves you, you couldn’t let her pay for a single thing.
you needed to up your security, too. so you two had decided to get a house that was pretty big, somewhere in the mountains, with top security, away from other people.
your parents soon calmed down after that day. they told you to come back, the begged you to come back. but you told them that you needed the time alone at that moment, and assured them that you would be okay.
so they did what parents would. they made sure you were well taken care of. they sent you massive amounts of money, sent your their trusted guards to stay around the house.
they did this all for you without the knowledge of the public.
your parents told reporters that you were well safe, and would not be in the public eye, not until you were ready.
you helped rae film certain videos. well, not like there was anything good to do in the massive mansion, anyways.
all your social media pages were still up, just not updated. you left everything. you had created a more private one, for your close and trusted friends to follow.
and you thought that nothing could really top that eventful day in england.
but it did.
you’re sat on toilet in on of the bathrooms, rae rubbing your back.
pregnant. it was clearly written on the test.
no fucking way.
-
in no ways were you ready to be a mother.
as a little kid, you had dreamt of being a mum, alongside a successful man who took responsibility.
you never would have seen yourself to be a mother alone, with the help of your bestfriend.
you never thought that you would be a mother, whose dad is someone who clearly doesn’t want anything to do with you.
rae stayed with you all the time. even through the gross vomit sessions in the morning, or all the time, in your case.
but you were in no way shape or form ready for a child. you had to raise a child on your own. even the thought of that had emotionally drained you.
weeks after you found out you were pregnant, you were significantly getting more moody, and rae knew that.
she made sure you ate well, slept well and kept up with eating vitamins each day. that was until, you couldn’t take it all anymore.
maybe it was the stress. well, it was the stress.
you blamed it all on the emotional toll the pregnancy took on you. your body was practically screaming for help. help that you need, but you weren’t in the right head space to offer the help to yourself.
it was a typically normal day for rae and you. besides rae screaming in her gaming room while streaming, it had been pretty quiet.
you felt queasy, but you pushed it off. it was normal for you nowadays. everything almost made you throw up. the look of something, the smell.
but on that day, it was a different type of feeling in your stomach.
one second, you were walking into the kitchen, trying to get some water, and the other, you were on the floor, in pain.
you screamed. this was the worst type of pain you’ve felt in your life. you screamed for anyone who could hear you. you were sure that even rae’s stream could hear you, but you didn’t care.
soon you heard multiple footsteps. one of your guards came to your aid before rae did. he supported your head on his lap, him sitting on the floor.
he told the other guard who came soon after he did to call the ambulance.
that was when you finally found out what was happening.
“holy shit, she’s bleeding.” rae repeated to herself.
you were bleeding? that wasn’t good, right? that meant bad things, doesn’t it?
you felt like you were floating, like your limbs were as light as a feather. that was because you were losing consciousness.
you lost it. you lost it and found out it was a boy.
now the two boys you love more than your life aren’t here with you, forever.
you cried for weeks, rae next to you, making sure you were still alive and eating. she was the only one that stayed by your side in real life. sure, your online friends did care about you, but they just couldn’t be there with you.
clay and nick had always been texting you, sometimes calling to try their luck, clay mostly. you knew they cared about you, and they wanted to make sure that you’re okay. but you felt embarrassed. you didn’t want to face anyone, even if people kept saying that you did nothing wrong.
apparently rae’s stream heard your scream, and that was how rae found out that you were in danger. she couldn’t hear through her headphones, but her chat kept spamming her about it, and that raised alarms.
they kept asking about the ‘mysterious girl screaming’ in rae’s stream. it was short lived, though. rae told them that she had a friend over and that they were injured, and that rested the chaos for a little.
you were sure that some people knew you were living with her. most of them were almost like detectives, after all.
you didn’t blame the stans. it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out that you would live with her, anyways.
since the awful day at the hospital, you have texted clay and nick. you wanted to tell them that you were okay, that you aren’t hurt, at least not physically anymore.
it didn’t take you long to start calling clay daily again. other than rae, you didn’t really have anyone. so you told clay.
it felt weird talking about a baby that used to be in you to someone whose bestfriend was the dad of. but he completely understood you. sure, he couldn’t say for experience, seeing as he clearly can’t get pregnant, but he supported you, made sure you let it all out to him.
you and clay grew close, almost bestfriends. although you and nick were close, he’s still in college, and that meant that he usually didn’t have time to talk to you as much as clay did, and you didn’t blame him. school can be a pain in the ass.
but you still made sure to never keep nick in the dark. as much as clay is one of your bestfriends, so is nick.
clay made sure never to talk about george to you, which deemed to be difficult since they had been friends for years. he had accidentally slipped his name out to you a couple times, but you were sure he didn’t meant to do that.
other than the usual “george has been sleeping like a log” and “he slept through the smp war.” you hadn’t heard anything else about him, but it seemed like he was doing well.
clay had told you about the bet.
“nick brought it up, but we didn’t think he was actually going to go through with it.” the floridian said.
you aren’t the type to hold grudges, not even if they did you really dirty, so you told clay that you were on the path of being fully healthy and that he didn’t need to apologise for his friend’s behaviour.
“are you ever going to come back?” he asks you in a facetime call. you knew exactly what he was talking about. he wanted to know if you’d ever come back on the internet.
you didn’t even know the answer yourself. you weren’t sure. so you told him that.
“maybe, maybe not. who knows.” and that was months ago.
you had plenty of time to heal, to get back on track. but nothing could top your pain of losing your child, that you never got to hold, to kiss, to spoil.
telling your mother about the loss of your baby was the hardest. she is a traditional woman, always telling you to get married before bearing children, but that didn’t mean she didn’t love the baby you were carrying in you.
she cried on the phone, sobbing, hiccupping. you wanted to hug her so bad, she even asked you when you’d come back, but you told her you needed time, but you’d be there soon.
for some reason, although you got maximum hours of sleep each day, you still felt exhausted. you consulted a doctor, but he told you that it was normal since your body is still fragile, but the exhaustion never really went away as months go by.
being bored at home, and hearing rae having fun made you feel lonely, it made you feel like you were left out. so you made the decision to come back. not to stream, but to appear in rae’s videos.
rae and the rest of the group welcomed you with open arms. they were caring and made sure you felt comfortable again, not stepping any boundaries. not that you cared, the public was bound to know everything soon enough.
so you did that.
you were playing proximity chat among us, with the usual people. at that point, you and the other nine people were still in the lobby, chatting, until corpse sounded out.
“what have you been doing nowadays?” harmless question, in your opinion.
you didn’t want to hide anything anymore, and rae knew what was about to happen.
“been having a lot of rest. doctor said that i’m still fragile.” you told corpse.
“are you sick?” toast asks. some people would’ve been offended at that question, or take it the wrong way, but you didn’t.
“actually, i suffered a miscarriage recently.” you told them honestly.
there was no awkward silence. immediately, everyone started apologising, saying “sorry for your loss.”
you brushed them off, telling them that it’s okay, that they didn’t offend you at all for asking that question.
“feels good to get it out my chest.” you told them, laughing at the end of that sentence.
“she hasn’t slept well at all, she really wanted to tell you guys.” rae told her
one by one, they all spoke to you, asked you if it was even okay that you all talked about it on streams. you told them that it had been your choice to tell people this way, and they had nothing to worry about.
on the other hand, it was tough for george. not at first, though. he thought it was going to be easy, having sex with a pretty, virgin girl and ditch her alone in a country she she hasn’t personally been to.
but that changed the moment she disappeared. the guilt never really hit george until people started bashing him on the internet.
at first, people were too focused on the girl. people discriminated you, called you a slut. they didn’t think that george was wrong at all, although he was the one who took the explicit photos and posted it.
but then, people, mostly woman had started to realise indeed how messed up it was.
george really couldn’t care that you “left.” but then people kept on commenting on his posts. specifically, they often left a comment saying “really bold of you to do that to a princess.”
at the start, he thought the comments meant that they couldn’t believe he did such terrible things to their princess, someone wholesome they cherished. he didn’t realise that his comments literally meant that you are a princess.
so he googled it. he wanted to know why people kept calling you ‘princess’ or ‘next on the throne’. he was curious, and he wasn’t expecting it all to be real.
when he googled your name, a huge google tab came out.
princess of saudi arabia.
this must be a typo, right? he couldn’t deny that you are indeed a pretty girl, he just couldn’t believe that he had done such things to someone so royal.
he never even thought that one day, he would score to talk to celebrities, let alone be able to be in bed with an actual princess.
so he doubted it.
but then he kept looking.
he looked at images of you. photos of you with a small tiara, next to what seemed to be the queen of saudi arabia, wearing a long, modest emerald gown. the photo was taken when the king had a birthday.
picture after picture, he started to doubt his thoughts even more.
he couldn’t lie, your face really fit the title. if he really thought about it, your existence screamed royalty. the way you spoke, your poise, the way you strut in a hallway and was able to wow a crowd without trying.
george always assumed that people only stared at you in public because of how beautiful you are. he never really realised it all until now.
usually, guys can be insecure when they hear rude comments about how a lanky man is able to get a beautiful, confident woman. but to george, he felt even more egoistical. he used you, truly like a trophy wife.
that was until he really realised.
now, he thinks that everything he did was just a plain asshole move, not saying it isn’t if he did it to any other normal girl.
“i fucking messed up” he thought to himself, reading press conferences about your princess title.
if he thought he messed up then, wait till he found out you were pregnant, and then later losing it.
he felt like he was in a fever dream. it felt like a written book, not real life.
he kept slapping himself, pinching himself to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. it all felt unreal. so many things were happening.
now, he’s more concerned than guilty. he wanted to know if you’re okay. even he felt like he can’t cope with the information he was given, how would you feel?
furthermore, he kept reading theories that the scream in the background of valkyrae’s stream was yours. had you lost the baby there? had you lost his baby there?
-
he called clay and nick. he wanted to double check. it was all a lot to handle, knowing you’re a princess and a mother in the same week.
nick screamed at him on discord for hours, literally. george knew clay was just as mad, just as disappointed. he just didn’t have the energy to say it all, even though all he wanted to do was fly to england and beat george up.
although it took george a while to realise everything he did was messed up, he came to. and he really did want to contact you. but really, anyone in your position wouldn’t even glance at his name twice after what he did.
he was happy that you were looking healthy on rae’s stream. although you weren’t really ready to stream on your own again and many people understood that, and never pushed you.
but whenever he saw you sometimes on rae’s facecam, he could see that pain, deeply hidden in your eyes. you were trying to cover up the fact that you were still trying to heal.
-
CLAY’S POV
it was infuriating to see george not really giving a shit at first, and then changing to a new man. it took you to tell the world about your lost child for him to own up to his mistakes.
nick and i had been friends with him for years, it takes a lot to just dump a friend, a close one at that. so we did what we could, help him wake up from this “dream” he’s in.
that didn’t mean we weren’t mad at him still.
if he didn’t want to own up, i will.
-
the subsequent years came by and went really quickly. people were starting to forget the drama that you and george were in. people soon became uninterested about it, but still stayed with you, encouraging you to heal slowly and take your time.
that was what you liked about the internet. granted, some people can be mean, but the people who supported you were the ones that helped you keep going, helped you find a reason to wake up in the morning.
no, you’d never forget that you lost a child, and you were reminded by the people on the internet who made it a pact to make sure george never forgot that too.
george did end up talking to you a couple years ago. you accepted his apology, but not him. you were sure he only wanted to apologise after knowing that you were the next in the throne.
speaking of throne, you were back in the castle. not permanently, but you visited often. you still lived with rae, and you had actually started streaming on your own again a few months before george reached out to you.
clay and nick had been supportive of you since the start, still clearly apologetic even though you told him that you had forgotten about it and that it hadn’t even been their fault in the first place.
but they were persistent, clay more than nick since nick was still very busy with college. you loved the two of them and considered them to be one of your best friends, aside from rae.
-
GEORGE’S POV
it was difficult. i felt like i had no shame to just text her one day after being gone for so long. but i actually felt bad. i know it was a rocky start.
i had been so focused on winning the bet and not wanting to be called a pussy from my friends that i disregarded you, your feelings.
i knew from the start that you had been a great girl. you were just so sweet to everyone you meet, even strangers. it warmed my heart, it made me feel safe to be around you all the time.
not that i can say that right now anyways, i didn’t have the right at all, after what i did to you.
i don’t know what love is, given the fact that multiple girls had left me before this. i asked myself often if what i felt for my exes were actually love, or had i just been desperate.
but i felt like when i was with you, it had been love, or close enough.
but i couldn’t just burst it out one day that i love you, we weren’t really even dating.
given that you had been pure, prior to me, it was shocking to see you so open, so welcoming to me. it was like you had known me forever, that you trusted me.
and i took advantage of that, and later i got the consequences.
i suffered the consequences. i see him with you. and i see that you’re happier with him. if it was any other guy, i think it would hurt less.
but it was my own best friend. it was clay.
all the instagram photos you post, his face blurred or covered, or when he posts a photo of you, it all hurt.
i started the fall for you, for your genuine heart, and when i finally decide to do something about it, someone else had done it before me.
deep down, i knew that clay would’ve been the better choice for you anyway. but it still hurt me. hearing his voice coming from behind you when you stream without your facecam.
everyone was so supportive of you and clay, they’re obviously happy that you found someone who treats you better, even i knew that.
i wished i hadn’t taken you for granted, i wish i hadn’t listened to the stupid voice in my head reminding that you were all just a bet, that i wouldn’t love you like you think i would.
i felt left out.
a while ago, you were in florida with nick and your boyfriend, clay. it stung to see nick and you streaming so happily, not remembering me.
but i deserved it. and i knew you deserve to be happy, after everything i did to you.
but that didn’t compare to the pain i felt now, a year later, seeing photos of clay and you, his face turned from the camera, facing you. he was down on one knee, proposing.
and although you were crying and your hands covered the bottom half of your face, i could see how happy you are, i could see the amount of love you held for clay.
how i wish i had done things a little more differently.

-------------------------
After school, Dream, George, and Sapnap tossed their bags into Techno’s trunk. Technically, he and Dream did have PowerPoint projects to complete, but it was a solo project and he already finished it at lunch.
Snagging the shotgun seat, Sapnap cheered, “To the mall!”
Techno grimaced. At least Sapnap was excited.
Actually, there was one good thing that came from them: friendship. Techno had met Dream at one of these mall fights while they went to different middle schools, then they ended up at the same high school and started to drag Dream’s other friends to them. Techno didn’t mind George and Sapnap, they were just more Dream’s friends than his.
Techno drove them out of the city, and they cruised down the highway for twenty minutes before pulling off to the exit towards the abandoned mall.
“I’ve never understood why this shit happens right after school,” George said.
Dream answered him, “It’s because the cops think this stuff happens at night. They don’t think to look for this stuff during the day.”
“Plus, there’s a lot more of the other stuff going on, so they’re busy.”
“Why do you know that, Sapnap?”
“Reasons.”
Techno rolled his eyes at the trio, and pulled the first aid kit and his backpack out of the trunk. “I’m gonna stay in the car today.” He handed the box to George. “Math homework due tomorrow,” he explained.
“Ah man. That’s too bad,” Dream said, stretching out his arms. “More practice for me.”
“Maybe you’ll even beat me next time,” Techno joked.
Dream wheezed, and Sapnap had to push him away towards the building.
Techno got back in his car, cranked the radio, and blasted the AC, shutting the windows tight. Throwing the bag into the seat next to him, Techno pulled out his binder, and opened it to a fresh piece of graph paper. Study time lasted all of forty minutes before the sirens rang out.
“Snitch,” he muttered to himself. He slumped down in his seat, and pulled out his phone. He debated who to text before deciding that George was least likely to be busy at any given moment.
Techno Got snitched Cops in lot
George Fuck Dream says leave Drop our stuff at Bad’s Drop Tubbo with Punz
Techno Roger
A squad of four cars descended on the parking lot. Most of the officers stormed the mall, but three stayed behind. Two began making their rounds around the parking lot, but--of course--the other was left behind to secure the entrance. It was standard procedure, so Techno wasn’t very surprised to see this happening.
Techno made the decision to continue doing his homework rather than try to get away. He tossed his phone on the passenger seat and turned the radio off.
He was calm. He was cool. He was doing his math homework. He was rolling down the window when prompted by a tap on the glass.
“Captain Craft,” the officer stated.
“Pleasure,” Techno responded.
“License and registration.”
Techno grabbed his wallet from his backpack and gave Captain Craft his license. He leaned over to the glove box to grab his car’s registration. “Afternoon Sir,” he muttered, handing over his paperwork.
“Techno Blade? Unique name.”
Techno snorted at the officer’s attempt at small talk. “Was born with it, I'm afraid.”
“That’s cool.” He handed Techno back his paperwork. “What are you doing here?”
Techno gestured to the paper in his lap. “Homework. Got a calculus test next week.”
“Smart kid.” Captain Craft was writing things down in his notebook. “Do you know why the police were called to this location?”
“No Sir.”
“What brings you here?”
“A quiet space to work, the foster home gets really loud. Normally this place is empty.”
“Normally it is,” Captain Craft agreed. “So you don’t know anything about a potential drug deal?”
The surprise on Techno’s face was genuine. Yeah this was an illegal ring, but drug deals? Really? “No Sir. I’m just doing my homework.”
“You promise?”
“Yeah,” Techno said, not playing the officer’s game.
Captain Craft leaned back to look at the backseat.
Techno had never been more thankful that Dream, Sapnap, and George liked throwing their stuff in the trunk for more leg room in the backseat.
Captain Craft patted the car. “Well. I feel comfortable letting you go free kid. Clearly you have nothing to do with this.”
“No Sir.”
“Techno Blade was it?”
“Yes Sir.”
“Do you have a number we could potentially call if need be?”
Now, Techno would have loved to give the officer his home number--giving the police a direct line of contact with his cell didn’t sound good--but that was a horrible idea. One of the other kids would pick up the phone, and they’d talk. Or the Foster Bitch would pick up, and she’d just cuss out the poor person who called. “Yeah. Let me get you my cell number.”
Captain Craft scribed the number down in his notebook. He flipped the page and ripped off the next page. “Doctor’s note to get you out of the parking lot.”
Techno snorted as he grabbed the paper. “Thanks.”
Techno shifted the car into reserve and pulled out of his parking spot. He drove towards the checkpoint and didn’t roll up the window until the officer standing guard approved his departure.
Techno arrived at Sapnap and Bad’s house. He pulled into the parking spot in the apartment’s garage that Bad paid for, so Sapnap’s friends could leave their cars when they came over. He grunted in annoyance at the weight of the three backpacks; there also wasn’t a convenient way to carry three backpacks. He rode the elevator up to the first floor and buzzed Bad’s apartments.
“Who’s there?” Bad’s voice crackles through the intercom.
“Techno, I’m here for delivery and pickup.”
Bad laughed.. “Hi Techno, they’re in the middle of something so it’ll be a little while.” The buzzer sounds and Techno steps into the room, taking the elevator to Bad’s floor, which was unreasonably high. How was Sapnap supposed to climb through the window late at night at this height?
Although Techno was required to have someone buzz him in, he conveniently had his own key for the door, and could use that. Techno couldn’t be bothered to remember which room was Sapnap’s, but he knew where the guest room was, so he tossed all their stuff in there.
“Hi Bad. Have any snacks?” Techno asked, entering the kitchen. Mario Kart sounds floated over from the living room. “It’s time to go home!” Techno called out to the kids.
“Why?” Tommy yelled back.
“Because. Also Tubbo, Dream said that I’m dropping you off with Purpled at Punz’s place.”
“Oh.” Techno could hear the way Tubbo’s face fell. “He got into something again?”
Techno took the plate of sandwiches from Bad and brought them out to the boys. He gave Tubbo a tight smile. “Apparently, but he’ll be fine.”
Once the boys finished their game--Ranboo won--they all bid Bad adieu and head back for Techno’s car. The boys and their backpacks file in. Tommy sat up front; Tubbo situated himself on the middle hump, and Purpled and Ranboo arranged their legs accordingly.
He let the boys karaoke on the way to Punz’s place. They were very loud, but it helps that he didn’t have to worry about where he was going, as he is far more familiar with these streets than he would have liked to be.
Techno pulls into the driveway. “Get out.”
“Thanks for the drive Blade!” Tubbo said, following Purpled out of the backseat.
“Good luck!” Ranboo yelled after them, stretching his legs into the newfound space he had at his disposal.
“Stay safe!” Tommy shouted, only half joking. “Let’s get out of here.”
Techno pulled out of the area once Tubbo and Purpled had made it into the house. He then drove them out of the slums to the richer areas of the city where Ranboo lived. He parked the car in Ranboo’s cul de sac.
“This is my stop,” Ranboo said lowly.
“This is your stop.” After a few minutes of silence Techno spoke again. “You gonna get out?”
“Yeah. Yeah.” Ranboo opened the door. “Thanks for the ride!” He pushed it shut once outside and walked up the lawn to his manor.
Tommy waved goodbye to his friend then turned to look straight ahead. “Let’s go back now.”
“Are you still mad at me for hanging out with Dream?”
Tommy didn’t respond.
Techno pressed on the gas and brought the car back to the main road. “I’m allowed to have friends, kid. I don’t need to explain myself to you.”
“Then stop. Stop defending yourself. You don’t need my approval.”
“When did you get older than me?”
“When you started hanging out with kids who get put in the newspaper for petty crimes!”
“I’ve been hanging out with Dream since long before you even got here.”
“And? People change. Little Dream isn't big Dream!”
“I know who my friends are,” Techno bit.
“I hope you do. Because Tubbo is having a sleepover with Purpled which means Dream isn’t home. And you were there. So what happened?”
All of Techno’s pent up energy left his body, and he fell into a steely expression. “Nothing.”
“Something happened! Why isn’t Dream home?”
Techno turned on the radio.
“Tell me bitch boy!”
“Do you want to eat tonight?” Techno shouted back at him, turning to face him directly now that they were stopped at a red light.
Tommy’s eyes were wide. He had one hand on his seat belt buckle and one on the door handle. He was as pressed away from Techno as he could get in the car. He was holding his breath and his body was tense. “Please,” he whimpered.
Techno tensed up as well. He had gone too far. He knew he had gone too far. That wasn’t cool playing on Tommy’s fears like that. “Tommy--”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’ll shut up. Please. I know it’s your stash. Please.”
“Tommy.” The light turned green. “We’ve been over this. My stash is your stash.”
Tommy mutely shook his head, refusing to reply.
Internally sighing, Techno tapped his finger on the side of the steering wheel, his brain working hard. He should have known not to say that with Tommy, but of course he had to mess up again.
The car behind them honked its horn loudly, jerking Techno out of his thoughts. He lifted his foot from the brake, and placed it down on the gas, accelerating forwards, and allowing the long line of traffic behind him to go.
Tommy still hadn't spoken, but was shaking slightly, and it wasn't because he was cold.
“My stash is your stash,” Techno reiterated, if only to fill the silence.
“No it’s not,” Tommy said in a small voice. “You keep saying it is, but it’s not.”
“Then steal from my stash to make your own stash. You’ve done that before.”
“Not from people I need to like me.”
Techno stopped looking at Tommy in hopes he would calm down slightly. “I do like you,” he reassured. “If I didn’t I wouldn’t be trying to convince you that we share a stash.”
Tommy fiddled with the radio stations and made a noncommittal sound of what Techno pretended was agreement.
Techno and Tommy spent the rest of the ride home in silence, Techno glancing at Tommy out of the corner of his eye the whole time.
When they arrived home, Techno put the car in park, and undid his seatbelt, but made no move to get out of the car. Twisting his neck, he looked Tommy in the eyes.
Techno knew what Tommy needed to hear, even if he hated having to need to say it. “You can eat tonight. Grab whatever you want from my stash.”
“Really?” Tommy asked more hopefully than Techno was comfortable with.
“Yeah.”
Tommy then bolted out of the car, as if to make sure he did the thing while he had permission before it was taken away abruptly.
Which Techno would never do. Techno was feeling like shit playing on Tommy’s insecurities to get him to shut up. That wasn’t cool and he knew that. Techno slowly pulled himself out of the car. He grabbed his backpack, and the one Tommy had left in his haste.
Walking slowly to the house, Techno gave Tommy some time to settle in before entering their shared space. Yes he generally wished that Tommy was quieter after 10pm, but tonight it would be for the wrong reasons.
At least Tommy didn’t seem to think Techno was about to hit him.

To celebrate Odaiba Day, I wanted to give some recognition to the “Odaibas” of the other series; that is, the days that started the other series’ adventures. While Odaiba Day doesn’t exactly recognize every Digimon beginning, I’d like to think it’s a celebration of all things Digimon.
So here are some one shots featuring the Adventure and non-Adventure series. I hope you enjoy! <3
01
"Wow. So today was the day, huh?" Tai said, glancing at the calendar on the fridge. It was the same brand of calendar that had been up the first time around. Now, two years later, it felt like yesterday that he was realizing the time flow between the Digital World and the human one was different.
The rest of the gang was crowded in his living room, eating the snacks his mother had put out for him. When they'd planned to get together, they had completely forgotten about the actual anniversary of their adventure. But in some ways, they had subconsciously remembered it anyway. Tai had a feeling the date would live on in their hearts for a long time.
"Tai! Hurry up with the food!" Agumon called, his face covered in crumbs. "I'm starving!"
"You might wanna do what he says!" Matt added. "I'm afraid he's going to eat Patamon next!"
"What?!" Patamon squeaked, hiding behind T.K.
Laughing, Tai brought out the rest of the snacks, leaving behind the calendar that had served as an eternal reminder of that fateful day.
02
Davis half-expected something exciting to happen on his first day of high school. Unfortunately, it was the same old school nonsense that he'd never really liked. No new kid that somehow knew the girl he liked, no computer warping him to the Digital World. It was almost saddening, really.
But his spirits lifted when he saw T.K. and Kari waiting for him outside the school. Yolei was off to the side, probably calling Ken or Cody to make sure they were ready to meet up. "You ready to go, Davis?" T.K. called, grinning the grin that used to annoy Davis to no end.
"'Course I am! I've been waiting for this all day!" he called back, running up to his friends. "Ramen, here I come!"
Kari and Yolei giggled as T.K. and Davis set off down the street, bickering over what type of ramen was the best.
It wasn't a big celebration, like the rest of the gang tended to do on anniversaries, but it was fitting for them, and that was all that mattered.
Tamers
Takato remembered the exact spot where he had first found the physical form of Guilmon. He also remembered the exact spot where the baby forms of all the Digimon had gone back to the Digital World. There were a lot of things he remembered, sentimental as he was, but he was starting to forget the exact day when it had all begun.
"To be fair, Takato, everything started on different days for all of us," Henry reasoned, closing his shoe locker and hoisting his messenger bag onto his shoulder. "I met Terriermon before you met Guilmon, and Jeri met Leomon before Kazu and Kenta met their partners. It's a bit hard to remember an anniversary when none of ours match up."
"But it would be nice to celebrate something that changed our lives the way the Digimon did," Takato said with a sigh.
"Why don't we just celebrate the day we all promised we'd meet again?" Rika said from Takato's left, appearing out of nowhere. She had long since mastered Renamon's signature skill.
Henry and Takato exchanged a glance. "That's perfect!" Takato exclaimed. "Then that'll be our anniversary!"
"But that's today—" Henry started to say, yelping when Takato grabbed his and Rika's hands and started dragging them down the street.
"Time to celebrate!"
Frontier
"We look weird," Koji said as they all stood in the train station, looking like a very conspicuous group of schoolkids.
"Well, where else are we supposed to celebrate?" Takuya snapped, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Maybe not so close to the stairs I fell down?" Koichi suggested, eyeing the offending stairwell cautiously.
"What are we gonna do? Play card games in here?" J.P. asked, snacking on some chips.
"I have to go to the bathroom," Tommy said. "Can we decide what we're doing here?"
"I knew I shouldn't have come," Zoe sighed. "Takuya didn't have a plan, just like I thought."
"Is it so bad that I wanted us all to spend time together?" Takuya nearly yelled, drawing the attention of passersby. Blushing furiously, Takuya muttered, "This is where our adventure began, guys. Cut me some slack, it's not like we were at a summer camp or something."
They couldn't help but smile at that. "Maybe we should go grab some pizza?" Koji suggested softly, placing his hand on Takuya's shoulder.
"Sounds like a plan," J.P. agreed, and they all got up and headed out of the train station, teasing Takuya about his lack of planning.
But they all silently agreed that they appreciated his efforts very, very much.
Data Squad [Savers]
"Remember the day we met?" Marcus asked, staring out at the world he now called his home.
"Hard to forget. You punch hard, Marcus," Agumon said, shaking his head at the memory. "Sometimes I still feel like I have bruises from that fight."
"Ha, sorry about that, buddy." Marcus grinned. "I never woulda thought that would lead to us both here, in the Digital World. Pretty wild, huh?"
"You got that right." Agumon paused. "I hope Yoshino and Thomas are alright."
"Ah, they'll be fine. They're smarter than me," Marcus said, waving off Agumon's concern. "If anything, I just want them to hurry up and open up the gate again so I can see my sister."
"We'll see them again, I'm sure of it." Agumon slapped a clawed hand over his chest. "If it's the last thing I do, I'll tear apart the worlds to let you see your sister again."
Marcus couldn't help but laugh at that. "Hey, thanks, bud."
That was when they heard someone calling Marcus's name.
"Marcus! Agumon! Are you there?"
They looked at each other, astonished. Was that…
"Yoshino! Over here!"
Marcus spun around with a wide smile to see his friends running toward him.
Well, what a happy anniversary this was.
Xros Wars [+Hunters]
"Man, what a ride the past couple years has been," Taiki said, adjusting the goggles on his head. "I don't think there are words to express how crazy this has all been."
"Easy for you to say," Akari teased. "You didn't get left behind twice when things were going down."
"I said I was sorry," Taiki began again, and Zenjirou chuckled at the familiar apology.
Tagiru and Gumdramon weren't even paying attention; they were too busy scarfing down their junk food. Yuu and Nene watched in almost concerned fascination while Ryouma and company dined at a table across the aisle from them.
"Hard to believe it's been a year since everything calmed down," Kiriha said, sipping his milkshake as he rested his arm over the seat of the booth. "Sometimes I wonder if I'll wake up and need to go solve some Digimon problem."
"I know what you mean," Taiki said. "It never really leaves you."
Nene smiled. "But now the world is safe and we can focus on spending time together, right?"
Zenjirou blushed at the word "together," but before he could ask her out again, Tagiru said, "Only if it means we come back here every time!"
The others laughed at that, letting Tagiru's antics wash away the uncertainty and fear that the Digital World was never truly saved. For now, they were here, and they were going to have a good time together.

Hawkins High would have this reunion thing like all the kids who went there at the time would come like after 5 or 10 years to meet each other. So, what if Steve and Billy had something going on during highschool, but then Billy just left without saying a word to California, leaving Steve behind. They would meet each other there and Billy’s like more muscular and has a short beard. It gets Steve all hot just by looking at Billy, so they end up having sex 👀 (+ some angst too pls)
There’s smut
-
Steve tucked his shirt into his jeans.
He stared at himself in the mirror, sighing as he untucked it again.
He had gone through his whole suitcase at this point, trying to find something somewhat okay to wear.
He huffed as he took off his shirt.
“Can you chill?” Robin was sitting on her bed on the hotel. He had begged her to come with him, even though she had no interest in going to the reunion. “It’s not like anyone that matters will be there.”
“Really? You’re not hoping to see,” he put on a dreamy breathy voice. “Tammy Thompson?”
She threw a pillow at him.
“Guarantee you Tammy Thompson is doing better things than going to the fucking Hawkins High School reunion.”
“Well, whatever those better things are, it certainly isn’t fucking country music.” She threw another pillow at him. He tugged on a new shirt.
This one was nicer, fit a little better. He nodded once.
“Are you finally ready? It’s been hours Steve. The reunion’s probably over.” Steve threw the pillows back at her.
-
They checked in at the front table, getting their name tags and proceeding into the gym.
Steve made a beeline for the bar, getting two shots to loosen himself up. He got himself and Robin some drinks, and mingled.
He and Tommy had reconnected a few years ago, met up for coffee when Tommy was in Chicago one day.
He clapped Steve on the back when they hugged.
“You look good, man.”
“Hey, you too. Where’s Carol tonight?”
“Oh, she’s all sick.” Steve stared at him. He grinned. “She’s knocked up! We’re having a fucking baby. Can you believe that?” Steve hugged him again. “So, when are you two gettin’ hitched?”
Steve looked at Robin, and they both burst out laughing.
“Oh, we are not together!” Tommy furrowed his brows.
“Haven’t you two lived together since fucking high school?”
“I mean, on and off, mostly. But we’re, uh, not compatible.”
They had each moved in with significant others through the years, but when everything got messy, they ended up right back together.
-
The evening ended up being, pretty alright.
Robin rolled her eyes when Steve said that, but she didn’t complain, so Steve called it a win.
They were out on the dance floor, tearing it up like it was still ‘85.
Steve was laughing with some asshole he used to be on the swim team with when his locked on the gym doors.
His mouth went fucking dry.
Billy Hargrove was standing there, looking cool as ever, and hot as all fuck in a tight henley.
His hair was short, and he had a fucking beard.
Steve turned around, ordering himself two more shots.
Last time he saw Billy he was tugging on his jeans, was kissing Steve on the forehead and was tiptoeing downstairs, boots in his hand.
He left the next day.
Steve did not want to deal with this right now.
It had taken him years to move on from Billy, taken him fucking years of crying into his pillow and letting beefy blond guys fuck him in dirty bar bathrooms.
Four STD scares and a lot of wine later,he was over Billy. Completely and totally over him.
And here he was, looking at Steve and biting his bottom lip, and Steve was totally not over him.
Billy swaggered up to him, leaning against the bar, his shirt pulling across him pecs.
He was fucking jacked. Definitely bigger than he had been in high school.
He tossed a leather jacket down, ordering a scotch for himself.
“Long time no see, Stevie.” Steve slammed both his shots.
“Yeah. ‘Bout ten years, Hargrove.” He pushed off the bar.
He was itching for a smoke. Had quit about four years ago, but something about Billy brought back all those cravings, all those memories of sitting in bed, sharing a Marlboro even though Steve hated them, their fingers brushing on each pass.
He pushed out of the gym, leaning against the brick wall outside.
He scoffed at the alleyway where Nancy shattered his already broken heart.
“Steve,” Billy’s voice was soft.
“I don’t wanna hear it.” He refused to look at him.
“I just wanna talk.”
“Oh, so you finally learned how.” Billy huffed.
“I should’ve told you I was leaving.” Steve made a face at him.
“Oh, you should’ve?”
“Look, I’m sorry.”
“Great. Thanks.” He tapped his foot. “Jesus, you have a cigarette?” Billy rifled through his pockets.
And pulled out a pack of teal American Spirits.
“God. You’ve gone soft.” Billy shook his head, lighting two in his mouth, passing one to Steve. He had several piercings in each ear now.
“Trying to cut back.” Steve took the cigarette.
“I quit years ago.”
“Well, sorry to break your streak.”
“Something about you makes me need a fuckin’ cigarette.” He took a long drag. “You and smoking just go together in my brain I guess.”
“I was hittin’ it hard back then. Probably always just smelled like smoke.”
“I always liked the way you smelled.”
And maybe it was the shots Steve had knocked back, or the way Billy’s earrings glinting in the light, but Steve leaned in, taking a strong whiff of his collar.
“Still like it?” Billy was smirking at him.
“Liked it better with the Marbs.”
“Well, two packs a day was probably gonna make me keel over soon.” He smiled when Steve huffed a laugh. “So, how are you? What have you been up to?”
“Jesus, we really doin’ this?” Billy shrugged at him. “I’m good. I’m in Chicago now. I’m an E.R. nurse.” Billy smiled at him.
“Good for you.”
“What are you doing? Since we’re making weird small talk now.”
“Been here and there. Worked in garage for a while, waited tables. Stripped too. I’m an English teacher now, if you can believe it.”
“Oh, come on. You act like I don’t know you. I mean, fuck, how many times were you my own personal English teacher?” Billy looked down, ashing his cigarette.
“You’re actually why I decided to study it. I’m in a high school now.”
“Bet you’re the teacher everyone gets crushes on. Get love notes on your desk, and all that.” Billy laughed, rolling his eyes.
“Nah. I’m a little more tough lovin’ than that. Don’t take any shit.”
“You’re too soft for that. Don’t front.” Billy smiled, looking down at his feet.
“One a’ my kids has pretty bad dyslexia. Parents won’t do shit about it. Makes me think a’ you.”
“Shoulda seen me when I got to college. Diagnosed myself.”
“Nurse Harrington for the win, then.” Steve laughed, smoke pouring outta his mouth. He stubbed out his cigarette.
“Where are you living now?”
“Santa Monica.”
“Explains the tan.”
“C’mon, Baby. I’m always this golden.” He smirked, waggling his tongue at Steve.
And it was like being back in high school, with Billy teasing him on the basketball court.
And Steve didn’t think, just grabbed the lapels of his jacket, smashing their mouths together.
Billy leaned into it, holding Steve’s face between his palms, pushing him with his body against the wall.
His beard scratched against Steve’s skin, lit a fire in his gut.
“Where you stayin’ in town?”
“Shitty motel.”
“Take me.” Billy’s eyes were wide in the dark. He nodded vigorously.
Billy pulled him by the wrist to the parking lot, dragging him to his car.
The same car he had in high school.
The blue Camaro still smelled the same, and when Steve turned around, the backseat was still sporting that stain, a little white smudge of Billy’s cum that had dripped out of Steve.
He smiled to himself as Billy started the car.
He put one hand on Steve’s thigh as they roared through town, heading down the service road.
Billy pulled into the motel. Was back on Steve in a second.
Steve danced out of reach, slipping out of the car with a coy smile.
Billy shook his head as he unlocked the door.
He pushed Steve onto the bed, climbing on top of him.
They wasted no time, tearing at one another’s clothes.
Billy pulled off his shirt, and Steve stared, brushing his fingers over his chest piece, a deer with white roses tangled in it’s antlers.
“Pretty.” Billy smiled down at him as he traced it. It was black and white, hyper realistic.
Billy leaned over him, kissing at his neck, trailing down his collar bone.
“You think ahead? Condoms? Lube?” Billy looked up at him.
“Who do you think I am? Was fuckin’ praying you’d be at that thing.” He kissed down his body.
Steve worked one hand into his hair, holding on while Billy swallowed up his cock.
“Holy shit.” He tossed his head back, one of Billy’s hands coming up to hold his own.
It was so easy, falling back into their old ways.
Billy knew just how to play his body. He got him hard and leaking in a second, moved his tongue so well, sucking Steve down.
“So good at this. ‘d forgotten.” He hadn’t forgotten how good Billy made him feel, doesn’t think he ever could. Just tried to push that shit away until he didn’t spend all of his waking hours thinking about him.
Billy mouthed down his dick, moving to suck lightly on his balls, spreading Steve’s legs open, and licking over his hole.
He pushed his tongue inside of him, sucking on his rim.
His beard was rough against Steve;s inner thighs, but he kinda loved it. Didn’t even mind the lame little pornstache Billy had grown in the summer.
Steve squirmed.
He hadn’t been with anyone in a while, didn’t get a lot of time off from work to date and fuck.
“Billy, just fuck me.”
“Haven’t tasted your sweet little ass in years, Pretty Boy.“
“Yeah? And who’s fault is that.” Billy sat up, looking at Steve as sincerely as he could with spit down his chin.
“You know, I really am sorry about that.”
“Billy, let’s just, talk about this later, okay?” Billy chewed on his bottom lip. Steve pushed his head back down.
He didn’t want to think for a moment, didn’t want to think about benders and crying at Robin while he threw up tequila and rainbow pills.
He let Billy work him open with his tongue and two of his fingers, let him dig into his prostate and bring Steve right to the edge.
Billy pulled off him, digging in a suitcase for a stack of condoms, a few little packets of lube.
He crawled back on top of Steve, rolling on a condom.
Steve spread his legs, rubbing the side of his knee against Billy’s torso.
Billy lined up, and pushed inside.
They both moaned as he bottomed out, his hips pressing flush to Steve’s ass.
He pulled out, his cock heavy, stretching Steve wide.
He rolled his hips, propping himself up with both hands on either side of Steve’s head.
Steve wrapped his legs around his waist, so much thicker than he was in high school. He felt up Billy’s body, feeling hard muscle before wrapping his arms around his shoulders.
“Missed your pretty sounds.” He was back on Steve’s neck, sucking bruises into the skin. “No one has ever made me feel as fucking crazy as you.” And he began fucking into him faster, harder. “Can you still cum with nothin’ but a cock in your ass?”
“Yeah. Been a minute, but if you-” he cut himself off with a moan, back arching as Billy shifted, hitting that perfect little spot.
He was all breathy, his voice high in his throat, eyes wide.
Billy was smirking at him, had doubled down, started going harder, rougher.
“I’m gonna-” He didn’t finish his sentence before he was cumming, his whole body going tight.
It seemed like he was cumming for fuckin’ hours, eyes squeezing shut as he made a mess of himself.
Billy was painting when he floated back into his body, had spilled out into the condom.
He kissed Steve’s temple.
“Fuckin’ beautiful.”
Steve closed his eyes, pretended for a minute that Billy had never left.
“Why did you leave?”
Billy was quiet. Steve still had his eyes closed.
Billy warmth was gone, and Steve cracked one eye enough to see Billy’s retreating back. He went to the bathroom, and Steve could hear the faucett.
He came back, the condom disposed of, and a towel warm and wet for Steve.
He cleaned him up, just like he used to.
“My dad kicked me out. Didn’t have a whole lotta choice in the matter.”
They had been planning a summer together. Were planning on hanging out at the mall and going to the drive in, and being stupid dumb kids.
“You could’ve called.” or asked me to come with you.
“Figured it’d be best if we just went our separate ways. Clean break.” Steve went still.
He was up in a second, shoving his clothes back on.
“Hey, you okay?”
“Fuck you, Hargrove.” He didn’t look at Billy.
“Steve-”
“No. It was not a clean break. It was messy and shitty, and I was over you. It took me fucking years, but I did it.” He wiped at his eyes. “Can’t believe I was so stupid, let you back into my life. What the fuck was I thinking?”
He jammed his shoes on, marching to the door.
Billy hadn’t moved from his spot on the bed.
“Have a nice life, or whatever.”
He slammed the door behind him.
It took him seven minutes of walking, and eighteen minutes of sitting next to the road crying his eyes out before he shoved a few quarters into a payphone.
Robin was back at their hotel room. He knew she was mad at him for ditching her, but when she heard the tightness in his throat, she softened, agreeing to pick him up.
“I fucking hate myself.”
Steve had his head pressed against the window.
“Steve, it’s okay-”
“No, it’s not. It took me so long to move on, and now, now I’m right back at square one.”
“This isn’t square one. You’ve done this before, you can get through it again.”
“But at what cost? I should’ve told him to fuck off. Not given him the time of day.”
“You’d feel just as shitty if you had done that.”
And he knew she was right.
She was always right.
He settled lower into his seat, let her take him back to their hotel, to his neatly packed suitcase and plane tickets for the morning.
He tried pushing Billy out of his mind.
Already had plenty of practice.
And all he wanted was blue eyes and a cigarette.

Steve accidentally summons his guardian demon who is determined to get Billy, Tommy, and him together. Except that every plan goes haywire.
i’m ready to weep. this is going to be fun.
===
Now. In his defense, he never thought it would actually work this time. Last time he hadn’t even gotten a peep from the answering service. Maybe it was just how desperate he was in the moment. Maybe whoever ran the demon summoning answering service took pity on him. But here it was, just as the little paper his mother had left him described.
It was eating his leftover pizza, “They sent me to deal with you because your last guardian is helping some lawyer stuck in an arson case. They haven’t given me a case in decades. Not since Lincoln at least, how long ago was that?” the thing laughed to itself and shoved another slice of olive and pepperoni in it’s gaping hole of a mouth. It was luminescent and dark emerald and it’s eyes were maroon orbs. Overall, less horrifying than he thought initially.
“Uh,” Steve stayed crouched behind the kitchen island and cleared his throat, “A long time. Wha— What’s your name again?”
The thing closed the fridge door too hard and it shook, “I didn’t say,” it traveled through the island with it’s hands behind its back, “I’m Eric.”
Steve blinked and stood up, “...Eric?”
It grinned and it’s crooked teeth showed, “Don’t act so perplexed, I’m trying to fit in on this realm.”
“Just seems very,” Steve watched as it drifted over to the phone in the wall, “Boring?” If Steve had to describe it’s reaction he’d say it was pouting.
“I thought it was classy,” Eric whined.
Steve blinked a few times and when the demon didn’t make another move he laughed nervously, “I mean, it’s nice. I guess I’m just really bad at meeting people, uh, ones of your...kind.”
Eric smiled wider than Steve thought was possible by any imagine, “Good. Now it’s time we figure out how to fix your problem.” There was suddenly a notepad in Eric’s pointy fingers, “When did your uneasiness begin?”
“What?”
The orbs circulated, “When did you start feeling down? Why’d you call? You know our customer service sucks down there.”
Steve pinched his brows together as he considered, “I guess when Nancy and I broke up and then Dustin went off to camp. I’ve been lonely.”
Eric’s shadow of a head nodded sympathetically, “Nothing will dust a man’s character away more than loneliness. Well, who are we looking for here. I’ll need to follow you around for a day to see who we can work with.” Before Steve could respond the thing started moving towards him, “I’ll just attach to your shadow for now and then later we’ll reconvene.” Before Steve could agree, Eric was gone into the shadows of the evening.
“Well okay,” he threw his hands up and went upstairs to prepare for work.
===
Tommy came into Scoops Ahoy that day and Steve immediately felt a tingle to his toes and fingertips. Eric appeared behind his old friend as he surveyed the display.
“This one is cute,” he said and floated around Tommy. Who scratched his cheek unbeknownst.
“What are you doing?” Steve hissed through clenched teeth.
Tommy startled and Eric looked on amused, “Uh, looking at the options?” He stared as Steve flushed in embarrassment.
“I wasn’t talking to you,” Steve explained quietly, “Robin, you’re on!” he turned and fleed quickly.
“Wa—“ Tommy’s voice was cut off by the door and Robin looked up from her novel.
“Dingus, I still have ten minutes,” she kept her place with a finger as she slowly shut the book. Steve rushed forward and sat in a chair, Eric right by Robin’s side, taking her in.
“I know,” he linked his hands together, “And I’ll give you another fifteen if you just take this one. Please?” he begged.
Eric’s eyes rolled again, “Way to stand tall, Steve.” Steve glared at him and Robin raised her brows.
“Okay,” she said longly, “Don’t give yourself a migraine now, Steve,” she laid her book down and headed out. “Welcome to Scoop Aho—” her voice closed out as the door shut.
Eric took her seat, “Now how are you supposed to land the boy if you won’t even face the boy?”
Steve reminded himself to keep his voice down, “Because it won’t work. So leave him out of this.”
Eric groaned obnoxiously, “But he’s our answer. He’s your answer and I have a cat to feed back in my realm so we have to hurry this up!”
Steve glared, “And how do you suppose we do that?”
Eric did that grin again, “We tune into that boy you were in high school, Harrington. And we knock ‘em off their feet.”
Just then Robin stormed back in with her hair practically on end, “Harrington, I’m not dealing with both those assholes at the same time. Take your fifteen minutes, shove it, and get your butt out there now.” One look at Robin and one glance at Eric’s smug drift towards the door and Steve was out of the break room regrettably.
“Ahoy!” he faked his best customer service smile. Billy Hargrove’s smirk reminded him too clearly of Eric, who was of course floating around the two males on the other side of the counter.
“Handsome, love that he’s blond, haven’t seen such a monstrosity in a while—” Steve bit his tongue to keep from laughing out loud.
“Cute, Harrington, nice shorts,” he leaned forward a little and looked at Steve’s lower half.
“Fruity too,” Eric sat on the counter.
Steve’s eyes widened and he cleared his throat, “Right, well, what can you I get for you two?”
Tommy settled an elbow against the counter and grinned cutely, “Hargrove here got a job at the pool so we’d like something,” he licked his lips, “Sweet.”
Billy nodded slowly and shifted the sunglasses on top of his head, “I’ll take pistachio.”
“Sweet cream and cookies for me, Stevie,” Tommy added.
Eric looked between the three of them, “All three of you? Kittymuffins can wait!” Steve ignored him and went over to the ice box, taking a scooper and a cone and bending inside uncomfortably to scoop from the green bucket.
Eric spoke from behind him, “They’re checking your ass out.” Steve sputtered and moved to get up. But he ended up smacking his head against the upper part of the glass.
“Shit!” he yelped in pain and stumbled back and then fell onto the ground after tripping on the fallen scoop. He hit his nose against the floor and felt a shock of pain. “Ow, shit, holy—”
“Steve?” he heard three voices shout.
“Oh my God!” Robin exclaimed and all of a sudden six arms where assisting him up from where he was on his knees gripping the counter desperately.
“He’s got a bloody nose,” Billy took over and picked Steve up and onto the counter. Steve blinked slowly and tried to catch up. Billy picked him up. “Pretty Boy, that was the most tragic thing I’ve even witnessed,” he said teasingly and bunched up napkins to Steve’s nose. “Keep your head level,” he ordered when Steve moved to tilt it back. “Good,” he commented.
Robin sighed, “I’m going to have to shut the shop down to clean this up. There’s blood on the glass, Steve. How?”
“Sorry,” Steve said weakly.
Tommy’s face made it’s way to Steve’s sight suddenly, “We can take him home.”
“Yes,” Eric agreed.
“No!” Steve refused and then felt guilty when Billy and Tommy looked embarrassed. “I mean, I’ve got it, I’ll go home and ice my head and nose. I’ll take some aspirin. And then I’ll come back for the rest of the night shift,” he told Robin. He stood up and ignored Eric shaking it’s head, “Thank you, guys. I’m fine. Really,” he addressed them each, “Thank you.”
“Uh,” Robin looked at Billy and Tommy uncertainly, “That’s fine I guess.”
“Thanks,” he said and rushed into the back room.
“You’re an idiot,” Eric crossed it’s arms.
“I know.”
===
Steve was at the store. He ran out of bread and he really wanted cookie dough ice cream. And just to his luck Tommy Hagan happened to stock shelves.
Eric spotted him first, “Oh!” he cheered and pointed with his emerald fingers, “It’s that freckle boy!”
“Hey, Steve!” Tommy walked over after setting down a crate of wheat loafs. “How’s your nose,” he examined Steve’s face as he walked closer. He laughed nervously and Eric snapped his fingers warningly.
“Much better,” Steve smiled.
“Billy’s pretty useful with all that training,” Tommy’s eyes softened.
“He sure is,” Steve nodded, “Could’ve used it the night he beat me up,” he chuckled unsurely. Eric face palmed.
“Oh, yeah,” Tommy looked down at his feet ashamed. “He’s sorry about that you know,” Tommy lifted up hurriedly. “He kicks himself for it all the time.”
Steve smiled and swung the bread gripped in his hand back and forth, “Really? How come he’s never said anything to me then?”
Tommy stubbed his toe into the floor, “He just didn’t want to overcrowd you too soon. And then he lost all the confidence to go through with it.”
“Steve,” Eric waved in front of his face, “Make a move. He obviously likes you, make your damn move and then we’ll land the other one!”
Steve panicked, “O-Oh, yeah, that’s nice. Hey, would you like to go to Bob’s for dinner sometimes this week?” Eric clapped and nodded approvingly.
Tommy grew excited, “I’m actually going there with Billy on Sunday—”
“Oh,” Steve sighed and smiled disappointedly, “Well, see you around then,” he waved and turned the corner as Tommy stayed stranded with his mouth open.
“Steven!” Eric scolded as Steve speeded to the frozen section, “What was that?” he screeched.
“I don’t want to intrude on them,” Steve muttered. A lady watched him worriedly as he grabbed a gallon of ice cream from the freezer and ran.
“You’re hopeless, Harrington,” Eric floated on his back and then disappeared.
“I know.”
===
Eric convinced him to go to the pool during the heatwave. It started out fine. Until Billy strutted out and climb up to the lifeguard seat.
Steve actually groaned, “Why does he have to look like that?” His head hit the back of the chair as he draped himself helplessly.
Eric sipped from his self produced margarita glass, “You love it though.”
Steve rolled his eyes, “I’m going to get a drink,” he eyed the soda machine on the other side of the pool and walked over. He felt kind of bare in just his blue swim trucks. It’d been a while.
“Hey, Steve!” Billy called down and waved with a flashy smile. Steve halted quickly to smile and wave back. Some kid also decided to run into the pool right as Steve stopped, pushing him in the pool. And Steve may have been a swimmer for a few years in middle school. But he hated pools after the whole Barb disappearance. All his experience left him in that moment.
He was underwater and everything was so quiet. Quiet and dark and soft. Sure there was a sting from the surface of the water but he kind of just forgot that the surface was a thing and when he looked down he saw monsters. Dark shadows against the pale floor. Then arms were wrapped around him and air was gasped into his lungs. He was lifted up onto the spiky concrete and he laid on his stomach as he caught his breath.
“Hey, hey!” Billy yelled, “Get back, and you! You’re banned, get out now! Before I knock you one.” he sounded livid. Steve blinked and then he saw Billy overtop of him, speaking much kinder. “Hey, man, sit up. Yeah,” he encouraged as Steve coughed more and sat upright, “Perfect. You alright?” Steve nodded and gave a shaky thumbs up.
Billy helped him up and Eric appeared over his shoulder, “You should’ve faked drowning so you’d get his lips on ya.” Steve groaned again and leaned his forehead against his knees. “Do you want me to bring through some wind to fix your hair?”
Steve sighed, “No,” he mumbled.
“You’re not?” Billy asked concernedly and put a hand on his back. “I can take you out back and have Heather take over.”
Steve looked up quick, “What? Oh, no, she deserves her break,” he chuckled, nervous and sore. “I’m fine. She had to deal with some kid dropping his popsicle in the pool. Who knew kids took cooties so nervously.” He smiled and started to get up, “I should probably go anyway.”
Billy kept his hand against Steve’s back and placed another on his shoulder soothingly, “You sure? I can drive you home if you want.”
Steve patted Billy’s arm, “I’m fine. Thank you, Hargrove, I appreciate it.”
Billy smiled softly, suddenly distracted as he stared at Steve, “Just doing my job.” Steve said goodbye and slowly made his way back to his car shivering. He was at the gate when a towel was suddenly strewn over his shoulders. Steve twirled around in a stagger to find Billy gleaming with a light sheen of sweat.
“Sorry, just thought you’d be better without a cold later,” he closed the gap of towel on Steve’s chest.
Steve laughed a little hysterically and hugged him, “Thanks, Billy.” He stepped away and went through the gate. Eric reappeared, smirking and Steve sighed as he finally gave in. “He still looking?”
“Yep. The water is making your suit stick to your ass.”
“Perfect.”
===
Eric sat with him on a bench in the mall, “Maybe you still have hope.” A kid ran by and Steve moved his feet in from their sprawled position.
“I don’t know,” he sighed, “They both have probably gotten together and given up on my dumb ass.” Eric nodded and when Steve stared at it unimpressed it smiled apologetically. Steve shook his head and sunk his shoulders more. “Whatever. What if I just relieve you of your duty and you go home to Fluffymittens or whatever.”
Eric coughed offendedly, “Her name is Kittymuffins. And who’s to say? Maybe today will even be the day, ‘cause they’re over by Scoops now.” It pointed over and Steve followed just to see Tommy and Billy arguing just outside the doorway of his very own workplace.
“What do you think they’re talking about?” Steve whispered.
“You,” Eric answered, “Tommy doesn’t want to push you but Billy thinks it’s time they tell you their plan.”
Steve asked perplexed, “Plan?”
Eric nodded, “They want to make you dinner and then get in your pants.”
He stood up and shook his head, “You’re so crude.”
Eric followed, “It’s basically the rundown.” Steve shook his head and grinned openly when the two men noticed him and turned to greet with big smiles in return.
“Hey, guys,” Steve brushed his hair back with a clawed hand, “What can I do you for?” Billy giggled and Tommy smiled before rolling his eyes and smacking Billy’s arm.
“Hey, Steve, we were just talking about you,” Tommy said.
“I know,” he smiled as both of them looked panicked. “How about you two come to my place tonight and we’ll talk about it then?”
Eric laughed beside him, “That’s my boy!”
The two of them looked a little shocked, “Uh, sure,” Tommy nodded slowly and smiled widely.
Billy’s smile was curved and his eyes glimmered proudly, “Told you so, Toms.”
Steve bit the tip of his tongue between his teeth sultrily as he admired their pink cheeks with a grin of his own, “See you later boys,” he wiggled his fingers at them.
Eric floated with him as he made his way back to the break room, “Do you need my help with dinner?”
“Nah, you can get back to Kittymittens.” He closed the door just as Eric gave one final applaud.

Loving in Color
Part 3 let's go!
Fandom: Power Rangers (Dino Thunder)
Pairings: Tommy/Jason, Ethan/Conner, Kira/Hunter, Trent/Oc
Words: 12068
Warnings: None!
Kira and Kaley nodded, following the boys away.
“Woah their huge!” Conner called as they all stopped in front of the Zords.
“Woah boy, it’s all good.” Ethan started.
“Be careful!” Kira called
“That’s right, I’m your friend. Tricera Zord!” Ethan called, and the Zords eyes flashed before its colors changed from an off green to a silver and Blue combination.
“It worked!” Ethan called.
“Yeah!” Conner and Kira called.
“Alright my turn.” Kira said lifting her Morpher.
“Ptera Zord! We can be friends, right?” Kira asked as her Zord also glowed and flashed before changing to Yellow and Silver.
“Awesome!” Kira and Ethan called; Kaley jumped a bit.
“Conner the Tyrano Zords out of control!” Ethan called.
“You have to do something!” Kira said.
“Alright, Come on! I need you to work with me here!” Conner called raising his hand up.
“Tyrano Zord!” He called and his Zord like the others, glowed before changing from green to Red and Silver.
“Yes!” Conner called and Ethan and Kira cheered as they joined him.
Kaley looked at her Morpher.
“It’s my turn.” She said stepping forward.
She lifted the Morpher high into the air.
“Come on, buddy. We’re friends. You need to relax and come back now. Troo Zord!” She whispered before raising her voice at the end.
Her Zord like the others glowed before changing to Green and Silver.
“That’s it.” She said softly.
Tommy ran over to them then.
“There’s only one thing left to do, bring them together. It’s alright you can do it.” He said quickly.
“Alright let’s do it!” Conner called.
“Alright!” Ethan shouted.
“Yeah!” Kira said.
“Right.” Kaley said.
With that they all jumped up into their Zords. They appeared in the Zords and balls appeared before them.
“Logging in.” They all called.
“I got it!” Kira said.
“Me too!” Ethan followed.
“Right, combining powers.” They all called.
Very quickly their Zords came together to form the MegaZord.
“It worked!” They all called when the MegaZord was fully together.
“Your robot is no match for me! Fire!” Their enemy called.
The enemy struck their Zord with a bunch of little energy balls causing them to stumble backwards.
“Ok, now I’m mad.” Conner called.
The enemy shot whips out and wrapped them around the MegaZord, sending electricity down them, knocking them back a bit.
“Time to head for the back of the net!” Conner called, before swinging them up into the air and over the ship.
“There’s the heart of the ship!” Ethan called.
“Dino drill engage!” They all shouted, aiming for that spot in the ship.
They went through the entire ship and landed on the street below before the ship exploded.
“Yeah!” They all shouted happily.
They ended up back at the lab where Tommy took their Morphers and made them change into bracelets.
“Keep these bracelets with you at all times. It’ll access your Morphers when you need them, and you can also use them to communicate with me and each other.” Tommy said as they each took one.
“Dr. O, I know you’re real smart and a science teacher and everything, but this is, well I mean, how did you?” Kira started to ask.
“I’ll fill you in, in time.” Tommy replied.
“Speaking of time, do you think Mesogog is going to be sticking around for a while?” Ethan asked.
“Unfortunately, they always do.” Tommy replied.
“They?” Conner asked.
“I know this is a lot to take in.” Tommy started.
“That’s for sure.” Ethan said.
“Your lives have just changed in ways you probably never could have imagined, but if you work together, you’re a team. No one can defeat you, no one.” Tommy said looking at them.
After a little longer of talking, the other three left and Tommy and Kaley walked back upstairs.
“Hey, good job out there.” Jason said looking up at them.
Tommy nodded and moved to sit down by him.
“Hey, just so you guys know, I was going to tell you eventually. Just, there was a lot going on. To be fair my brain was elsewhere, but it doesn’t matter now. I’m sorry for how I acted.” Kaley said quickly hugging them both.
They wrapped their arms around her.
“It’s ok, just go get something to eat, and get to sleep its bound to be a long few days.” Tommy said softly.
“Yeah, after I text Trent and let him know I wasn’t stranded in the school like he no doubt thinks.” Kaley said standing up and moving towards the steps.
“Kaley.” Jason called.
She turned and gave him a smile.
“I know I can’t tell him. But I can and will tell him I’m alright.” Kaley said quickly.
Jason nodded and Kaley ran up the steps. The next few weeks were stressful between school and dealing with monsters plus Trent was acting strange. Kaley took a deep breath and let it out through her nose, before her eyes snapped open.
“Would you both just shut the hell up!” she snapped slamming her book closed.
Ethan and Conner both turned to look at her eyes wide.
“Woah, is everything ok?” Kira asked from beside her.
She took a deep breath and reopened her book.
“No, it’s not. And today I really can’t handle their constant bickering like a damn married couple.” She muttered lowly.
Kira had turned to say something to the boys when the doors to Hailey’s opened, catching their attention.
“Well maybe Trent can make your day better.” Kira said instead.
Kaley closed her book again and stood up to walk over to him.
“Hey, Trent.” She called.
Trent turned and tried to smile, but even she could tell it was strained and partially faked.
“Hey, Kaley.” He said and he didn’t sound good.
Kaley ran a hand through her hair.
“How are you?” she asked him worried.
“I’m fine, why?” he asked voice tight.
Kaley scrunched her face up for a second.
“We were supposed to study together for dads test on Friday, and then you blew me off. I was just wondering.” She said concern lacing her voice.
Trent shrugged.
“I had some stuff I had to do.” He said elusively.
Kaley nodded, and laid a hand on his arm.
“I understand, do you want to study after your shift? I’m sure Hailey won’t mind.” She suggested lightly.
He shrugged her hand off, but looked more concerned then upset.
“Uh, no. Dad wants me home right after my shift. Maybe, uh tomorrow.” He said quickly before ducking into the back.
Kaley watched him go.
“Yeah….ok.” she said quietly before walking back to the others.
She started packing up her things slowly.
“Hey, is everything ok?” Conner asked, he was a goofball but he could be observant when he wanted to be.
She shook her head.
“No, it’s not, I’m going to go home. I’ll see you guys later.” She said before walking out of the café.
Three weeks later and Kaley closed the door of the Jeep.
“All I’m saying is, don’t let his actions get to you, Anton isn’t exactly an easy man to work with. I can’t imagine how he is the live with.” Tommy was saying as they rounded the front of the Jeep and headed towards the warehouse.
Kaley took a deep breath and rolled her shoulders, finding out Trent was evil and being controlled by Mesogog was rough, the fights notwithstanding.
“I know, and saving him is top priority. But Dad he’s getting worse. It almost seems like he doesn’t recognize any of us anymore. Not even me. I’m just worried.” She said quietly as they walked over to the scanner.
Tommy turned and put his hand on her shoulder.
“Princess, you know we can and will save him. And we’ll all be there after he is freed. It’ll be ok.” Tommy said gently using his old nickname for her.
She sighed and went to say something when they heard a noise.
“What was that?” she asked.
Tommy and her turned and looked around for the source of the crash, when Trent came rounding the end of a stack of boxes, before collapsing. Disregarding any measure of safety Kaley ran over to him.
“Trent!” she called falling to her knees beside him.
He shook his head and tried to shove her away.
“No, you have to get out of here. Both of you, please! I don’t want to hurt you again.” Trent said tone begging.
Kaley shook her head and looked up as Tommy knelt down on his other side, quickly scanning his morpher.
“Trent, I know this is terrifying. But you need to breath and focus on something else. It’ll help keep you from morphing.” Her dad explained quickly.
Trent was shaking his head.
“All I can think of and hear is his evil voice in my head.” Trent said sounding broken.
“I know it’s hard but you can do it.” Tommy encouraged.
Trent started to shake his head again when Kaley grabbed him carefully by the head and pressed a hard kiss against his lips, pulling back and seeing his eyes wide, she smiled.
“There think about that.” She said smirking softly.
Tommy sighed and shook his head.
“I did say he should breath too.” He said.
Kaley shrugged.
“I was more focused on clearing his mind.” She replied.
With that Kaley and Tommy grabbed the scanner and helped Trent to the Jeep. They got back to the base again, Kaley providing distractions as needed, and got him onto a med bed. Tommy scanned his morpher again and hummed. Over the next week they did what they could to fix the morpher.
“Ok any ideas?” Tommy asked one night over his third cup of coffee.
Jason shook his head as Kaley hummed.
“Wasn’t there another case of a morpher malfunction?” She asked.
Tommy hummed and nodded, Jason looked confused between them, Tommy shot him a smile.
“You hadn’t come back from Geneva yet. But yeah, Zhane. He was in Cryostasis for almost 2 years before he woke up and when he did his morpher had a 2.5-minute limit. He had to recharge it and it worked fine.” Tommy said not connecting what his daughter was trying to say.
“With lightening.” She said.
Tommy nodded still looking confused, even as Jason’s eyes widened in understanding.
“A controlled shock might just be enough to break the evil connections.” Jason said quickly.
Tommy slapped a hand over his forehead.
“That may work, although it may also hurt him.” He said.
“Let’s do it.” Trent’s voice cut in from the other side of the room.
Kaley stood up quickly and went to him, helping him to a chair.
“You should have stayed in bed.” She said gently brushing the hair from his face.
Trent shook his head.
“No, this is about me too. Let’s do the shock it seems like the best course.” He said.
Tommy looked at Jason, before nodding.
“Alright, but it’ll take a few hours to set up.” He said before him and Jason walked to the back room.
Kaley kneeled down in front of him, seeing how tired Trent was. She reached up and rested her hand on his cheek.
“You’re sure?” she asked softly.
“It’s our best bet. I already can’t stand knowing I’ve hurt you. So, I’ll take the shock over the risk of doing anything like that again.” Trent said softly.
Kaley nodded and leaned up kissing him gently.
“I don’t blame you, I could never. You were being controlled; it wasn’t you.” She said softly.
He rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes.
“I know, I don’t know how I got so lucky.” He said.
She smiled softly and wrapped her arms around him.
“It’ll be ok.” She whispered.
Trent shook his head.
“What if it doesn’t work?” he asked softly.
Kaley wrapped her hand in his hair tangling her fingers in gently.
“Then we’ll figure something else out. We can contact Aquatar, or KO-35, Triforia is an option too. We won’t let this hold on you any longer. I’ll kick Mesogogs ass myself unmorphed if I have to.” Kaley said firmly.
Trent nodded and moved to stand.
“I’m going to go lay down until it’s time.” He said softly.
Kaley nodded and stood to help him back to his bed before moving to the back room where her parents where.
“That was quite the speech.” Jason commented, trying to sound light.
Kaley turned and looked at him with a face full of determination.
“It wasn’t just a speech. I was beyond serious. Either this works or I start punching enemies with my bare hands. That bastard isn’t going to continue making him feel like shit about himself. He’s a fantastic person, who doesn’t deserve any of this.” Kaley said fiercely.
Jason raised his hands a bit in a calming position.
“Breath. Trust me, I know where you’re coming from.” He said softly.
Tommy looked up with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh?” he asked.
Jason rubbed the back of his neck.
“I may or may not have made a very similar statement when we figured out evil green was you.” Jason said looking to the side.
Tommy gave him a smile as he shook his head and kissed him lightly, Kaley groaning behind them. Tommy smirked.
“Pay back. And I suppose like Father like daughter.” Tommy said with a small laugh.
Both Kaley and Jason looked to opposite sides of the room, rubbing the back of their necks. Tommy laughed and moved into the main room to start setting up the controlled shock machine. Within the next hour they had it set up and ready.
“Kaley, go get Trent and let’s see if this works.” Jason said as Tommy was to far into the calculations.
Kaley nodded and walked into the back, offering a smile to Trent. In a few minutes she had helped him to the front area and into the chair where Jason wrapped the strap around his wrist.
“This is really for your safety.” He said in response to Trent’s look.
Trent nodded.
“Well, it makes sense, electricity and all.” Trent said softly.
Kaley ran her hand through his hair and hugged him quickly before walking over behind the protective shield. She took a breath and then the room lit with a bright light. After a few seconds the room darkened again.
“Trent? How do you feel?” Tommy asked walking to him.
Kaley just a step behind him, Jason was looking over the readings. Trent groaned a bit but looked around for a second.
“I feel…good. Like really good.” He said sounding relieved.
Kaley rushed forward and hugged him tight as Tommy undid the strap on his arm.
“Thank you.” Trent said softly.
Tommy shook his head and turned back to Jason.
“You two should head upstairs and do the work you missed.” Tommy said in response.
Kaley pulled back and nodded, helping Trent stand. They walked up the steps and settled on the couch.
“What…. what happened?” Trent asked a few hours later.
Kaley looked up, humming lightly.
“When?” she asked.
“When I was evil.” Trent said softly.
Kaley closed her eyes and pushed her book away.
“First, that wasn’t you, I don’t care what anyone says. Second, we went home with far more bruises then normal, but it also forced us to work together.” Kaley said trying to be gentle.
Trent took a breath and leaned back.
“Details?” he asked softly.
Kaley took his hand and sighed softly, going over the details and things that had happened. The next few months went by quickly, and before they knew it prom and graduation where upon them.
“So, what are you wearing?” Kira called from where she was in the dressing room.
Kaley smiled softly and looked up from her phone.
“I’ve got a length emerald dress, one shouldered and a white belt to go with it.” She called back.
Kira laughed a bit before stepping out and turning to look in the mirror.
“What do you think?” she asked.
Kaley nodded.
“I like it. And I think Hunter will like it too!” Kaley teased her lightly as she looked over the yellow dress with small dark red accents.
Kira turned bright red and smacked her lightly, before running back into the changing room to put her clothes back on. Walking out a few minutes later tugging her jacket on. Kira walked over to the shoe rack her dress in hand.
“So, what's going on with Trent?” she asked Kaley as she too stopped at the shoes.
Kaley shrugged lightly.
“You know as much as I do. Dad’s got him doing recon on the enemy side, trying to figure out who Mesogog is, or any weaknesses he has. Although he says he has some idea of who he is and what happened. But he hasn’t told me anything.” Kaley said softly, looking around at the different shoes.
Kira nodded and the two moved to the cashier to finish their shopping.
“So, do you think Conner and Ethan will ever stop being idiots?” Kira asked a while later as they were walking home with their shopping and milkshakes.
Kaley let her head fall back with a loud laugh.
“No, I think they’ll always just be yelling at each other.” Kaley said laughing.
That caused Kira to join in and they walked into the house laughing.
“Guys, the rest of the team is downstairs, go on.” Jason called interrupting them and he didn’t sound ok.
“Everything ok Poppa?” Kaley asked carefully as the girls sat their bags down.
“Not really, go on, they’re waiting.” Jason said, voice tight.
Kaley looked at Kira and they both walked to the hidden hatch, Kira tilting the tyrannosaurus models head and letting them in.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Kira called as they walked down the steps.
They walked into a tense scene. Trent standing to the side with Conner glaring at him and Ethan sitting by the monitors, Kaley could hear who she assumed was her dad and Hailey working in the back.
“What’s up is that someone has been keeping things from us.” Conner said sharply, eyes not moving from Trent.
Kaley moved over to Trent and looked him over.
“You ok?” she asked softly as Kira stood between the two groups trying to get the full story.
Trent ran a hand through his hair and nodded.
“Yeah, I’m ok. Just found out some bad news that Conner thinks I’ve known.” He said voice tight.
Kaley raised her hand and gently laid it on the side of his face.
“Conner is a hot-headed jerk at the best of times, don’t let him get to you.” She whispered softly.
Trent sighed and nodded, resting his forehead on hers again before pulling back, and turning to the stairs.
“What running from the truth?” Conner called.
“Conner shut up.” Ethan said walking over to them.
Kira shot Conner a glare, as Kaley turned slowly and took a step towards him.
“I just need some air. I’ll just be outside.” Trent said not even turning.
He walked up the stairs ignoring everything Conner said.
“Yeah run back to your evil daddy, you traitor!” Conner called.
Before anyone could blink Conner was on the floor and Kaley stood over him.
“Conner if you know what’s good for you, I’d stay quiet if I where you.” Tommy said from the back having come out when he heard the thud.
He walked over and moved between his daughter and Conner, placing his hands on her shoulders.
“You need to breath.” Tommy said and Kaley took a deep breath.
Conner slid up onto his butt before standing up wiping his face.
“What the hell! I was just saying the truth!” Conner called.
Tommy quickly wrapped his arms around Kaley again when she lunged at Conner.
“If we want him alive, someone get him out of here!” Tommy called.
Kira nodded grabbed Conner and dragged him up the stairs, almost running into Jason as she did. Ethan following behind them a little slower.
“What’s going on?” Jason asked confused, having heard the commotion.
Tommy sat Kaley on a chair and turned to Jason.
“Conner ran his mouth about Trent without the girls getting any information, Trent went outside, Conner kept running his mouth. Kaley snapped and punched him, well that’s what happened from what I saw.” Tommy explained running a hand through his hair.
Jason turned to Kaley arms crossed.
“Yes, I punched him. Yes, I would have again had dad not stopped me. Will I the next time I see him? Probably. He had no right talking about Trent like that.” Kaley said firmly.
Tommy sighed and turned to the steps.
“Speaking of, I should make sure Conner and Trent aren’t in a fist fight.” Tommy said walking upstairs.
Jason nodded and looked at his daughter.
“Kaley, I don’t like the amount of fights you’ve gotten into lately. First that kid at school, yes it was months ago but still. And now your own teammate? We don’t fight our teammates!” Jason said sternly.
Kaley looked up at him and offered him a short glare.
“Like you even know what this last year has been. You’ve been gone with the PRU so much, we rarely see you. Also, I don’t care if he is my teammate, he ran his mouth about my soulmate, my person. Anyone who does that gets punched. I don’t care.” Kaley said firmly.
Jason sighed and ran his hand through his hair.
“I know I’ve been gone a lot, but I’ve had to help organize some things. You need to learn to control your emotions…” Jason started before Kaley jumped out of her seat.
“No! Don’t stand there and tell me to let him get away with that. Because we both know you’d do the same damn thing if someone said something about Dad!” she said voice tight.

For The First Time Pt.2~
ꕥPosted: 7/25/20
ꕥGenre: College!au, Fluff
ꕥPairing: Fem!reader x Jongho
ꕥWord Count: ~1k
ꕥWarnings: None
ꕥA/N: I know this isn’t a popular series which makes me a little sad but I wanted to finish it anyway. If people end up liking it and it actually gets attention I might(?) make a part 3. It’s most likely gonna end here tho. Read part 1 also if you wouldn’t mind! Things will make a lot more sense if you do. You can do that here
ꕥA/N Cont: So even though I provided translations for some words, there is a phrase that I clarified in the middle of the writing bc I didn’t want to spoil anything
ꕥPhrase Guide:
你= You
加油 = You can do it (encouragement)
Tumblr media
Jongho was surprisingly easy to talk to and we got along better than I thought we would. Not that I thought we wouldn’t get along, but I was still surprised.
After we had lunch together we exchanged numbers and began to hang out more, usually every couple days given our busy schedules.
He was so talkative that I found out almost everything about him in no time. He just turned 20, was a music major, and took Chinese because he wanted a challenge. He loved snow but hated the cold. Soccer was his favorite sport but he didn’t play often since he was always either studying or working as a tutor for underclassmen. He was born in Korea but grew up in America. Fluent in Korean but insecure enough about his American accent that he only spoke it with close friends and family. He met Mingi during a soccer camp he went to in middle school and his best friend - the guy with the mullet - was named Hongjoong and apparently much friendlier than he looked.
The more I spent time with Jongho, the more I realized I had feelings for him and the stronger they became. When Marina and I were alone in our dorm, I told her everything I was feeling and the response was exactly what I suspected.
“HA! KNEW IT!” Marina yelled, “I just won myself ten bucks.”
“I’m sorry, YOU WHAT?”
“I may or may not have made a bet with Mingi that you would catch feelings within three months of meeting Jongho. And you’re two days away from three months, girly.” She shrugged but kept the smile on her face.
“Oh my god you did not. Actually speaking of...what’s up with you two? Are you official yet?”
Marina went quiet for a moment then bit her lip, finally speaking up, “Well...not yet, technically, but we’ve seriously considered it. We have another date this weekend. Now all you have to do is get with Jongho and we can go on a double date.”
“Yeah I don’t know about that, M.”
“Y/n he totally likes you, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“No I know. He’s got a few tells so I know he feels at least a little something. I’m just not sure if I should commit to anything, you know?”
Marina let out a loud laugh before speaking again.
“Pfft no. I dated all throughout high school. If I’m being honest, though, I really think you should give it a chance. People always freak out about possibly ruining a friendship by confessing but honestly if a friendship can’t withstand a little crush then you probably weren’t solid friends in the first place.”
“You know what? You’re right. I’ll tell him tomorrow.”
“Hell yeah girl! Go get him!”
-
The next day arrived way too quickly. Although I told myself I would confess, I was getting anxious. I walked into Chinese class holding hands with Marina for emotional support. We were the first ones there, as always, so I had a bit of time to rant.
“I’ll be honest, M. I’ve never felt butterflies like this before. I’m actually shaking.” I lifted up my hand to show her my slight tremor.
“Oh sweetheart! It’ll be all good! Promise. Just take a few deep breaths.”
I slowly breathed in and out for the next several seconds.
“You’re right. I can do this.”
The trio walked into class several minutes later. Mingi gave a quick kiss to Marina and Jongho gave me a friendly smile. Hongjoong rolled his eyes at the four of us and walked to his usual seat, propping his feet up on the seat in front of him.
The rest of the class filled in and soon our professor arrived.
The professor loudly clapped her hands, speaking up, “Alright class. Today I’m going to have you pair up in groups of two and work together. I don’t care who it’s with, as long as it’s with somebody. We’ve got an even number of students so we should be fine. I’ve got some games for you to play today.”
I turned to Marina but she was already halfway up the stairs to sit next to Mingi. I looked at Jongho but he motioned at Hongjoong, mouthing that he was sorry.
Okay. That’s fine. I thought. I’ll find someone else. Looking up I saw the unfamiliar young man standing in front of me. He blanked for a moment when I looked up at him.
“Hey! Uh...would you maybe want to be partners?”
“Are you sure? With the both of us together we’ll probably beat the whole class by a landslide.”
He laughed and sat down next to me, visibly more confident.
“I’m sure they can manage. I’m Tommy, by the way. You’re y/n, right?”
I nodded and smiled at him as we shook hands. I looked Tommy in the eyes and saw a slight blush on his cheeks. What I didn’t see; however, was the death stare Jongho was giving him.
The professor looked up and let out a laugh, pointing at Tommy and I.
“Yeah no way in hell am I letting that happen. You two are my best students and - no offense everyone - but no one would stand a chance against you two.”
“Ouch.” I heard Mingi say.
Jongho quickly stood up and raised his hand, “I’ll partner up with her!”
“Very good. Get on with it then.”
Tommy looked upset, making me feel bad for leaving him.
“Hey that’s okay, Tommy. Maybe next time?” I gave him a smile that he soon returned.
I walked up to Jongho, sitting next to him as Hongjoong sat down next to Tommy.
Jongho leaned in and whispered, “I’ll be honest, y/n. I’m really glad the teacher separated you two.”
“Yeah, I bet everyone is. We are the best in the class, no offense,” I laughed.
“Actually no I meant-“
“Alright class. I have talked in English for an unusually long time but in my defense, I was up basically all night grading essays so I’m running on two hours of sleep and a cappuccino. Nevertheless, I’ll now switch to Chinese. 加油.”
The first game was simple enough. The teacher wrote beginner to intermediate level phrases for us to translate. If we got it right, we got a point.
My team eventually won, beating Tommy and Hongjoong by a single point. Jongho really surprised me, getting almost as many questions right as I did.
Mingi and Marina ended up last because neither of them were paying attention, instead flirting with each other.
The second and final game was a little more complicated. We had to translate the sentence, as well as pronounce all the characters correctly. Tommy’s team was tied with mine until Jongho answered the last question correctly. I smiled at him and bounced in my seat.
“We won, Jongho!” I exclaimed, pulling him into a hug. He froze at first, but then put his arms around me and pulled me closer.
The professor spoke up once more, “We’re out of time for class today but remember you have a test next week. I expect you all to be studying!”
Our classmates soon left the room along with our teacher. Hongjoong quickly ran out to meet his new boyfriend - Seonghwa I think he said? - and Mingi and Marina were already gone. I assumed they left class sometime during the second game.
“Hey,” Jongho said to me as I was slipping on my backpack, “I was wondering if you could help me out with my writing in Chinese? Sometimes I mess up the stroke order and I could use the practice.”
“Sure! When do you want to study?”
“How about now?”
Jongho grabbed my arm and led me down to the whiteboard at the front of the class. I looked around at the empty classroom and nodded. I didn’t want to disturb anyone. He picked up a marker and began to write.
“I’ll write and you tell me if I make a mistake, okay?”
I laughed, “Sure, Jongho.”
As he started writing I didn’t see any mistakes. When he finished writing, I gasped.
“我喜欢你。你喜欢谁?”
[I like you. Who you you like?]
I smiled and took the marker from his hands, placing it back on the podium. I looked him in the eyes and cupped his face. “你” I said as I kissed him. I pulled back and looked into his eyes. He smiled and kissed me again, this time wrapping his arms around my waist.
We pulled back for air and I whispered, “You know, I was actually planning on telling you today, too. Marina encouraged me to tell you, but I guess I didn’t have to after all.”
“I mean you can still tell me, if you want.”
I gently kissed his cheek, “You already know how I feel.”
“Hmm. Actually I’m not quite sure. Could you clarify for me?” Jongho laughed when I playfully hit his arm.
“You know,” he continued, “when I said I was glad the teacher separated you earlier, I meant that I was glad you were away from Tommy. I’ve seen the way he looks at you and I really didn’t like it. I got so nervous because even though I tease, this is the first time I’ve felt like this. So I guess the question is...will you let me take you on a date?”
“Absolutely!”

Imagine #4
You and Tommy are nearly kidnapped, you discover you are both Evos.
Notes: Yeah, I wasn't too sure how to describe this one. But basically, you and Tommy talk things over and it gets all fluffy until it ends in a kiss.
Warnings: Kidnapping attempt, angry reader, insecure Tommy, tiniest bit of violence (if you can call it that), long.
Tommy was simply walking you home from school, your hands intertwined, conversation flowing between the two of you. You were laughing about something Tommy said about your Maths teacher when it happened. Passing a black BMW, a man in black jumped from inside the car. He rushed at you both, and before either of you could react, Tommy was pinned to the ground.
"TOMMY!" You screamed, trying to pry the man off of your best friend. Another man came up behind you and grabbed your arms. You squirmed against him, jabbing your elbow into his ribs. But he was determined. Then, quicker than you could blink, Tommy was gone. He'd completely vanished with a distinct pop. You ceased your struggling, staring at the now empty space. Where had he gone?
"Tom?" You questioned no one in particular, completely taken aback. The strangers ignored you.
"He's gone off, again!" The other guy, still on the ground, complained. Gone off? What had he meant?
Was Tommy an Evo?
"At least we've got this one." The man behind you had a high and pitchy voice, like he was still going through puberty; still quite young.
"Why are you doing this?" You demanded, struggling some more. The men just laughed at you. The hands on your arms squeezed, hard, their nails digging into your flesh.
"Evos like you are... useful." He breathed in your ear, the air smelling of something rotten. You gagged, stomping down on his foot. Surprisingly, the man let go of you. He shoved you away, actually, you stumbling forward a few steps.
"Damned wench!" He spat; his eyes black with rage. You ran for it. Your eyes were wide with fear. But you didn't get too far. A smaller body appeared suddenly behind you; their chest pressed softly into your back. Strong arms wrapped themselves around your waist. You screamed, elbowing them and kicking their shin. The person made a strangled grunting noise, but—unlike the man in black—they refused to let go. Then, the world around you swirled slightly, and you froze. In just a second, the road and trees and street lamps collapsed in on themselves. The colours swirled around, forming shapes and objects that were too familiar. Just like that, you left the street.
And appeared in your room.
"What the hell?" They let you go, and you pushed away from them. You spun around, about to back-hand the stranger in the face. Your (e/c) eyes snapped up to meet a familiar pair of forest green ones. Your shoulders slumped in relief. It was just Tommy. But then, your body stiffened all over again. Your neck and back were aching from all the stress (you were gonna feel that tomorrow). "What the hell?!"
"(Y/n), calm dow—" You raised your hand, stopping him right there. He shut his mouth.
"I am not about to just "calm down", Thomas." A jolt of pain flashed in Tommy's eyes. He hated it when you used that name, so you only called him that when you were upset.
And, boy, were you upset.
"Those people—they tried to kidnap us. Kidnap me. Kidnap you. Do you have any idea how freaking scary that was?" You paced back and forth, avoiding Tommy's eyes as he tried to look into yours. You refused to even glance at him, knowing you would forgive him too quickly if you did.
"I had no damn clue what in hell was going on! Whatever crazy crap you've gotten yourself into—I just... I can't believe you—UGH!" You threw your arms above your head, slamming them back down on your hips with your back to the infuriating boy.
Tommy just stood there, having no idea what to do or say. You were so upset, so angry, and it was all his fault. He never wanted you to be so hurt like this, even if he had saved you before anything really happened.
"(Y/n/n), it's alright. They didn't get us, we got away. I—" Finally, you turned to him, and he cut himself off. Your eyes were red with hot, angry tears; you glared at him like he was some kind of monster. He had completely underestimated your fury, and his heart broke a little knowing it was him you were glaring at.
You stomped up to him, standing right in front of him, before you threw your hands up against his chest and shoved him backwards. He fell down on your bed, staring up at you in shock. His eyes glistened with tears.
"How dare you?!" You yelled down at him. "Don't you understand? It doesn't matter that we 'got away'. What if we didn't?!" Tears were flowing down your cheeks now. "How did you expect me to react? They could've killed us, Tom! A-And then you go and do that... that thing you did? Where'd you even go? I really thought you'd just left me there. Left me with those people."
You were panting and stuttering and crying. Your hands digging into your sides and likely bruising the skin there. Tommy's tongue was glued to the roof of his mouth.
You stared at him with such pure rage. It was what Tommy feared. Was what filled his nightmares on those bad days. He had wanted to tell you everything, just open up to you and really let you in. Now that you finally knew what he was, even if it was only a fraction of the whole truth, you seemed to really hate him.
You continued to stare at his face, anger slowly seeping out of your mind. You realised you hadn't even been looking at him properly, only now finding the marks scattered up his arms. Your gaze immediately softened, and you sat beside him.
He shuffled away from you a little, and your heart ached. He must have hated you, now. You had basically just screamed in his face. Made out like you blamed him for everything. But, truly, you didn't. You were just... terrified, still. You sighed, taking his hand. He did nothing to make you let go.
You stared intently at one of the longer cuts near his elbow, the blood still oozing out. Slowly, his skin knitted itself together. Tommy looked down at it, his eyes widening.
"You're..." He didn't continue, only sitting back up to look in your eyes. You smiled.
"Yeah, I am." The two of you sat in silence. You just stared at his arm, continuing to heal his cuts and scratches and bruises.
"I'm sorry, Tom." You whispered, not looking up at him. "I was just so scared. I thought that maybe—maybe they knew about me. They were going to take me away again..." You trailed off, focusing on a bruise that shrunk in on itself, his skin paling until it returned to normal.
"And then, when you... vanished, I thought they would take me. That you left me behind, you didn't care." Another tear leaked out and you huffed, swiping it away.
Tommy wrapped you into a hug, holding you close. "And I'll never leave you like that again." He kissed your forehead. "That guy was just on top of me; I had to get out of there. But I should've been faster—"
"Hey." You stopped him again, something you'd done a lot that day. "It wasn't your fault."
The two of you just watched you fix him up for a while, relaxing with one another.
"Before... What did you mean by 'again'?" You met his eyes. You found empathy in them.
You nodded. "When I was... 11 or 12, maybe, these people showed up at my school. Took me away to this place. The teachers didn't stop them." You thought about it, for once willingly, and shivered at the memories.
"I remember walking down this grey hallway... these windows looking into different rooms with other kids in them. Sometimes they were just playing around, acting all normal. But then there were these white rooms with bright lights and hospital beds... And the crying."
Tommy listened intently, recalling his own similar experience.
"When I was, like, 7... I think those same people took me, too." He told you. Your brows furrowed in concern. 7? That was so young. How could they kidnap a little boy? Then again, how could they kidnap anyone?
"I don't remember hallways, or seeing other kids there. Just... a room full of toys, and there were no doors or windows."
It was still the same Tommy you'd known for almost two years. But there was something different about talking to him, now. Now that there were no—or almost no—secrets between the two of you. You felt you could talk to him about anything... anything but that one thing.
"What's it feel like?" You asked him, changing the subject. He furrowed his brows, narrowing his eyes in confusion. "I mean, when I heal these do they just... go away?"
"I don't know. It's like stretching the skin, then sorta like pins and needles, and then..." He struggled to describe it as you healed his last cut. "Then nothing, really. Have you ever healed yourself?"
"No, I tried, but I don't think I can. How's that for the worst power ever?" You admitted, laughing at the end. Tommy opened his mouth, as if to argue, but you beat him to it. "What about when you teleport things? Do they just go away?" He shrugged in response.
"Not exactly." He reached over to your bed-side table, picking up your drink bottle. He held it in his hand, then it shrunk in on itself, like the trees and street lamps had earlier. It disappeared, before reappearing in your lap with a series of pops.
You gasped, the object literally appearing put of nowhere. It felt like goosebumps on your skin, before the weight quickly and suddenly pressed down on you.
"It's amazing." You whispered, watching Tommy's lips tug into a smile. "For goodness sake, Tommy! Why didn't you just tell me?" You laughed, slapping his knee playfully.
Tommy could hardly believe it. He was so sure you hated Evos, hated him. You looked like you were about to kill him, earlier. But here you were, not ten minutes later, talking and laughing with him as if nothing had changed between you.
"I-I thought you'd hate me." He confessed, still staring at you in wonder.
"For being an Evo?" He nodded. "Why would I do that?" You asked, a silly smile plastered to your face. "Even if I wasn't evolved too... These powers don't define us. I would've loved you all the same."
A long a terrible silence followed, both of you processing what you'd said. Then, when your brain finally caught up with your lips, you jumped right off your bed. You tripped on your pyjamas, slipping over and falling. Then, that same strange noise sounding off in your room, you landed in a tangle of arms and legs.
Tommy was seated on the floor behind you, you sitting between his legs. He had one arm wrapped around your waist, and your back was pressed to his chest. Not you nor Tommy moved an inch, your eyes wide and your face flushed red. You felt his every breath, his torso heaving up and down behind you, his air blowing out across your cheeks. The sensation sent chills down your spine.
"I-I-I—uh, I, um... I was just—you were falling, and I..." Tommy stuttered, mouth struggling to form words before his brain even knew what to say. He hadn't even bothered to think before he teleported, mentally kicking himself for being such a love-sick idiot. He was supposed to land behind you and stop the fall, not join you on the floor. You, however, started to relax into him, a large part of you actually enjoying being this close to him. But you stopped yourself. Tom was your best friend, and best friends do not sit in each other's laps. Reluctantly, you took his hand away from your waist, and eased off of his body.
Now sitting in front of him, you spun around to face him. His face was white as a sheet, the only colour being his gorgeous green eyes. Gorgeous eyes? You shook the thought away.
"So..." You began, fiddling with your fingers.
"You said... you said you—that you love me?" His brows were furrowed; his eyes clouded with something you couldn't recognise. From his tone, it sounded like he was asking you something.
"Well, you know, you're my best friend." You tried to save yourself the awkwardness; the drama. He really was your best friend, and your stupid crush on him wasn't about to ruin that relationship. He was special to you... you couldn't lose him.
But the unfamiliar colour behind his eyes dispersed, a hint of pain replacing it, and somewhere in your heart you knew you'd said the wrong thing.
"Uh, yeah. You're my best friend, too." Ouch. He was so hesitant, too hesitant. He sat there; hands clutching his calves. His knuckles were a little pale. He was getting uncomfortable, again. Did he think you were friend-zoning him? Your throat constricted at that, and you almost choked. Was he doing that to you?
"But..." You trailed off. What could you say? Admit your feelings? Just like that? He stared at you intently, waiting for you to finish, a look of hope behind his small smile. "It's stupid, but... Since we're telling each other stuff... Sometimes... I wish we weren't just best friends." Your heart raced. Your final secret was out, all your cards on the table, and you wished the world would swallow you up. Or that Tommy would teleport one of you away. But then, slowly, a smile emerged on his face. Your heart jolted, having never seen anything quite like the look he was giving you, now.
He looked so... relieved.
"Really?" He asked, beaming. You nodded shyly. Tommy rose a brow. "Just sometimes?" He teased. You stuck your tongue out at him.
"Don't push it, Clark." You snapped, trying to glare at him, but your giggles made it difficult. The tension dispersed, and you'd never felt luckier to have someone like Tommy in your life. " But you have a point. I wish it every minute I'm with you."
"I wish it every second." He whispered. Your heart must have stopped. Was this a joke? Surely he didn't mean it. You looked deep into his eyes, his gazing back at you in admiration.
"You do?" He nodded softly, shuffling closer. You giggled again at him scooting towards you on the floor. He grinned back sheepishly. His knees touched yours, and a wave of chills washed over your legs.
You didn't know who moved first, but soon his hands were resting in your hips, yours placed on his knees. His face was so close you could see the brown flecks in his eyes contrasting against the green. You even found a few freckles on his nose and cheeks that you'd never seen before. "Can I kiss you."
You pressed your lips into his, eyes fluttering closed. He kissed back, his lips a little dry but gentle against yours. They danced together in sync. One of your hands combed through his brown locks, while Tommy traced up and down your sides with the tips of his fingers. Tickling you. You giggled into the kiss, and felt him smirk cheekily against you.
You must have kissed him for hours, neither of you wanting it to end. But, after about two minutes, you pulled away. The both of you were grinning like mad. Tommy pecked the corner of your smiling lips.
"Does this mean you'll be my girlfriend?" You rolled you eyes at his question, a look of blissful innocence crossing his handsome features.
"Of course, you idiot." Your face hurt from all the smiling and laughing, but even so, you grinned.
"I'm your idiot, now." You shook your head, laughing. "I love you, (Y/n)."
"I love you, Tommy."
He kissed you again.

Ooooh prompt again (sorry to bombard!) but enemies to lovers (or more like rivals to lovers) where Billy makes fun of Steve, calls him dumb or mocks his lack of ambition or does the whole ‘at least you’re pretty’ thing and it cuts Steve deep because yeah he’s struggling at school, and Billy realises he’s gone too far? (All of your prompt interests are like my super fave Harringrove tropes!!)
Under the cut for talks of abuse!
“Fuck.” Steve sighs and drags a hand over his face, as he grabs the test back from his teacher. He hopes the multitude of tiny red x’s weren’t visible to any of his classmates. The teacher looks at him and sighs, shaking his head, “I thought you were going to work harder, Steven,” his voice drops into a whisper, “You’re running the risk of not graduating.” Steve shakes his head and tries to keep his eyes from watering. As he walks out of the classroom he hears the teacher mutter something like, “All that boys good for is a hair model.” And with that one tear slides down his face, he wipes It away before it leaves streaks. He doesn’t need anyone, especially Billy Hargrove, seeing him crying in school. He’d never hear the end of it, and word would probably get back to his dad, who would call him a “pussy” first, and then a “fuckin’ idiot” when he finds out about the test grade.
He trudges his way to P.E., hoping to let out some steam playing basketball, “That’s one thing I know I’m good at, or, at least I was before Billy,” he thinks to himself. In the locker room he gets by Tommy H. and Brad R. without any comments made and he allows himself to calm down at that. Unfortunately for Steve, Billy had seen the bad test grade, and is now preparing to use that on court to get under Steve’s skin.
Billy saunters in, throwing a look at Tommy and shoving his thumb in Steve’s direction. He makes a “crybaby” face which causes Tommy to burst out laughing, his chortle catching the attention of the other boys in the room, including Steve. He catches the end of Billy mocking his face, he shoves his gym shirt on the rest of the way and moves out to go warm up on the court. he try nots to think anything of the face but he can’t help but think that Billy saw his grade, which means he’s probably seen the other bad grades he gets in their shared class. He shakes his head and pushes the thought away while grabbing a ball and throwing some casual free throws.
Basketball goes surprisingly okay, Steve really thought Billy was going to try something and when he didn’t, Steve forgot all about the grade. Billy snickers as Steve walks out of the locker room, getting ready to go home, “Have a fun night, Pretty Boy!” he calls over his shoulder. As Steve walks further away he can hear the roaring laughter of his teammates, “That was weird,” he thought. He shook his head and continued walking to his car. On the drive home he kept thinking about the last comment Billy made, “Have a fun night? What is the even supposed to mean?” he says out loud to himself. He drives home with the thought that he could be in his room alone and curl up, not even bothering about dinner. Those plans are ruined when he sees his father waiting for him on the front porch.
“Hurry up and get your ass in here Steven. I need to discuss some things with you,” his father said in an almost menacing tone. The color drains out of Steve’s face, and he quickly grabs his backpack and rushes out of the car. Once in the house he looks at his dad who has a weird look on his face, different from his usual hardened disappointed one, almost furious. His dad turns to him, “I got a call from your coach Steven.” Steve takes a sharp breath in through his nose, “What did the coach say dad?” he asks in a shaking voice. “Your coach. Steven. Said that he was notified by one of your friends, Billy, who is deeply concerned about your grades.” His father said sharply. Steve’s shoulders sag and he knows what's coming next. “Tell me Steven. Did you and I not have an agreement that you would work harder?” Steve nods his head in agreement, knowing a verbal answer would be disrespectful in his father’s eyes. “Yes? So why is it, that I get a call about you failing multiple classes, risking getting benched in basketball, risking graduating high school? Do you do these thing on purpose, Steven? Or are you really that stupid? Hmmm?” His father spits, grabbing Steve’s wrist.
Steve flinches involuntarily, “Answer me, boy! Are. You. Stupid?” his father rages each shout reacting in a tighter grip on his wrist, Steve whimpers, “Yes sir. I am stupid.” His father shakes his head, “What are you good for Steven?” he asks in a mocking sweet voice, “Nothing Sir. I am nothing without my looks,” Steve whispers, the tears threatening to leave his eyes. His father shakes his head in approval, “Good job, Steven. At least we know you can learn so long as it’s drilled into your stupid. Little. Head.” His father lets go of his wrist and Steve walk up the stair to his room. As soon as he clicks the door shut, he lets the tears fall freely. Not much later after that he falls into a fitful slumber.
The next day at school Billy anxiously waits for his and Steve’s history class. He can’t wait to see the look on Steve’s face. The bell rings signaling that it’s time for the class. Billy is absolutely giddy as he walks in looking for Steve and his stupid, sad, face. His eyes search the classroom, and Steve’s not there? “What?” he thinks, “Steve always gets to class before me.” he finishes the thought. “Whatever,” he mutters and shuffles over to his desk. Time ticks by and right before the bell rings Steve walks in, Billy searches his face for sadness, or anger, but it’s just blank. He watches Steve sit down at his desk and pull out papers for class, Billy shakes his head, “Can’t even acknowledge what I did to him, what a loser,” he thinks.
During P.E. Billy is antsy to get a rise out of Steve, on the court he calls over to him, “How was your night, Pretty Boy? Get in some trouble with Daddy?” Steve shakes his head and tries to focus on playing, he’s too tried and drained for this right now. “Whats wrong, didn't get your beauty sleep, princess?” Billy sneers. His attempts to ignore aren't going very well. As the game continues on, Billy is all over him, trying to get a reaction, but he’s not allowed. His father came into his room at 2:00 am to make sure the rules were going to be followed. And Steve knows better than to break the rules. Billy keeps pushing him though, and it’s relentless. He keeps calling nasty thing out at Steve and doesn't hold back. He smirks when he notices Steve’s walls deteriorating, and he hits him with the final blow, “Ain’t even good at basketball anymore, all you’re good for is being pretty, huh princess?” And Billy watches as the walls fall down, and he stances, waiting for Steve to tackle him. But it never happens, he watches the color drain out of Steve’s face and keeps his eyes on him as he runs to the bathroom looking like he’s going to throw up.
“Someone go check on Harrington!” Coach calls, and Billy’s up to the chase, needing to find out why Steve didn’t try and deck him. When he get into the bathroom Steve’s sitting on the floor in the stall, “What the hell, man?” Billy asks. Steve just looks at him, “Can’t break the rules, no fighting allowed. Too “pretty” for it. If I’m going to be stupid I have to be stupid and pretty and good.” Steve sighs tearfully. Billy just watches him in confusion. “You aren't the only one with a shitty dad, Billy,” he sighs and Billy tries to protest, “We’ve all seen the bruises, man, Don’t even try it.” Steve finishes. Billy sit down beside him, “So your dad... What does he do to you?” Steve sighs, “It’s not like abuse, or anything. He just rags on me all the time. Making sure I know my place, y’know.” he bring a hand up tp wipe at his face.
“what does he say?”
“Just the usual, ‘you’re stupid, not good for anything,’ yadda yadda...”
“Steve, that is abuse.”
“No, he never hits me. Not like your dad.”
Billy sighs, “Who woulda thought, me and pretty boy have something in common.” he laughs, and Steve joins in, almost hysterical. “Hey, Harrington. Steve, I’m sorry I did that to you man, I didn't think your dad was like mine.” He says in a soft voice. “It’s okay, Billy.” Steve hums.
They sit in the bathroom for hours after the last bell rings, a new friendship blossoming, bonding over shitty dads and basketball.

Laredo, Texas
The sound of Ozzy could be heard throughout the west side of Laredo. The Bordertown getting a taste of rock music for once from its usual Mexican bands. It was already warm like summer down in this part of Texas, making Sammi feel at home. The warm air pleased all the guys, breaking out of the winter clothes finally. Laredo's venue was the most different from all of them, seeing a high school right next to the Civic Center and two different types of buildings. One being an auditorium for ballet, and the other just open space for the guys. In the stone courtyard in the middle of everything, Sammi sat on the fountain, hearing the water cascade down while smoking her first cigarette of the night. She could see the small crowd of kids her age at the gate of the civic center, hoping for a chance to either meet someone or listen to music. Sammi felt a light hand push her head down, turning to see Nikki smirk down at her.
“May I sit?” asked Nikki, Sammi nodded silently. He sat next to her, staying silent as he pulled out a cigarette for himself, flattered to see a light already waiting for him to take. They stayed silent for a while until Nikki began coughing uncontrollably.
“You okay there, Nik?” asked Sammi, patting Nikki on the back to help him in some way.
“Yeah. Yeah I’m good,” answered Nikki, clearing his throat. “Just getting smokers lungs faster than I thought. I thought I had a good two years left! Cruel world!” Nikki yelled out into the night sky, shaking his fist in the air and proud to hear Sammi giggle. She playfully shoved Nikki’s bare shoulder, shaking her head at him. “Idiot,” mumbled Sammi, stepping on the small cigarette bud.
“Hey, it takes one to know one. Have you met Tommy and Vince? Don’t get how you and Mick don’t want to hurt us,” said Nikki.
“Oh I know I do, but I don’t feel like getting yelled at by my parents. Or get arrested for domestic violence,” joked Sammi, smiled right at Nikki, her pinky lightly grazing Nikki’s. Nikki felt his body become stiff for a moment, looking away at the girl.
“I would pay to see that fight between you and blondie. Might help you,” uttered Nikki, finishing his cigarette for the night.
“Of course you’d be up for that. It’s not like he’s your friend or anything,” provoked Sammi, poking Nikki’s cheek.
“He’s barely even my singer. I only tolerate him because of you fucking Bass siblings,” said Nikki, shoving away Sammi’s hand.
“Why don’t you like him?” asked Sammi.
Nikki raised an eyebrow to Sammi. “You really wanna know?” Sammi nodded. “Maybe because the son of a bitch got something I wanted, but I could just take it from him if I tried hard enough,” answered Nikki, lowering his face right to Sammi, seeing her eyes change from teasing to nervous.
“Nikki… don’t,” begged Sammi, slowly moving away from him.
“And why not Princess? There’s a nice difference between us. I stay with a girl I like,” said Nikki, tucking a piece of hair behind Sammi’s ear. “And Vince has wandering eyes if you haven’t noticed yet,”
Sammi swallowed hard, “I trust him. Please just leave it alone for now,”
“Alright I will, but you’ll always know where to find me,” said Nikki, kissing Sammi on her forehead before disappearing back into the sound of Ozzy. Sammi bit the nail of her thumb, thoughts running at a rapid pace. She didn’t even feel Vince slide right next to her, making Sammi jump when feeling his hands.
“There’s my girl. Are you okay? You look like you have a lot on your mind?” asked Vince. Sammi nodded, kissing Vince before he can think of any further questions.
"Of course I am. Let's just stay here," whispered Sammi, pulling Vince for another kiss, this time harder to make him truly forget any questions.
July 1st, 1985
On the nightstand by the bed, a clock reading 7:45 rang out in the spacious white bedroom. Sammi tossed onto her side, slamming the clock to stop beeping while letting out a morning groan. Sammi rubbed away the sleep from her eyes, aiming to not fall back into a deep sleep. When Sammi started to feel more awake, it dawned on her the silence in the room. No one was snoring in her ear. Rising slowly, Sammi turned to find an empty spot next to her. The duvet looked almost done as if Nikki made the bed before he left. A note from a torn notebook paper laid on the pillow, messy handwriting in black pen yet still blurry for Sammi to read. Sammi put on her glasses, bringing the piece of paper close to her face.
‘Sorry I had to leave, Princess. Didn’t want to wake your pretty face up. Thanks for the special attention. Call you later- Nikki”
Sammi scuffed at the note, a tiny smile crawling on her lips. She tossed it by her lamp, rubbing her face slowly to stay awake. “At least he left a note this time,” muttered Sammi, ripping off the heavy blue blanket, jumping off the bed to seize the day. Sammi looked at the black mini pencil skirt and purple blouse that hung on the closet door, happy with her professional wardrobe. Cascading down the small apartment hallway, Sammi entered her bathroom to head straight to the shower, the water running cold as Sammi liked it. She carried on with her morning routine of applying light makeup and curling her hair, halting as the phone in the bedroom rang out. Sammi ran into the room, jumping on the bed to quickly pick up the telephone, holding it up against her ear as she deeply scrunched her eyebrows.
“Hello?” responded Sammi, sitting on her bed.
“Good morning, Sammi. It’s Doc, how are you doing?” said Doc on the line.
“Oh, I’m doing good, just getting ready for work. What’s going on?” asked Sammi, checking her clock as reassurance she wasn’t wasting time.
“I just wanted to quickly let you know, we are going to Elektra for a meeting. I don’t know if Mr. Harrison told you,” Sammi closed her eyes tight for a second, trying to not mess up her done hair. Sammi knew Mr. Harrison told her last Friday about some meetings, but she completely blocked it out after drinking the night away. She didn’t feel the need to ask that day. Now Sammi wished she could take a sick day.
“Uh yes. Yes he did Doc. I’m one of his secretaries, remember?” said Sammi with sarcasm, smiling a small bit with nerves setting in. Nikki was beginning to rub off on her in his mannerisms. Sammi questioned if this was a good thing for her.
“Right. Of course. I only wanted to give you a heads up about Vince before your day started. Since it could be very difficult to see him in person after a while,” said Doc. Sammi smiled to herself, lucky to still have Doc care for her.
“I really appreciate it, Doc. Thank you for looking out for me,” sincerely said Sammi, “So, I should probably give you a heads up so you don’t go in blind to the meeting,”
“Harrison still worried about the boys?” asked Doc.
“It’s more him being worried about his money going down the toilet than anything else. You really need to be prepared to get your ass chewed or get a cold man,” said Sammi, pressing her lips tight together. She saw the time begin to creep up again, eyes shooting wide. “Doc, I really have to be getting ready. I’ll see you at the meeting,”
“Okay, thanks Sammi. See you soon,” said Doc, cutting the line before Sammi could. Sammi shut the phone, dropping back onto the bed, smothering herself with a pillow as she groaned out loud. Her nerves became setting in more while thinking about seeing Vince for the first time. Sammi began thinking of excuses to not participate in this meeting, rushing to the kitchen for some breakfast. Her mind was turning almost empty, going into autopilot as she got ready for the rest of her day.
*
Sammi looked out the car window, eyes following Sabrina walk out of her apartment building, coming straight to the passenger door. Sammi smiled in a blink second at Sabrina, driving off into the busy morning traffic. Silence filled the car ride, unusual for the two on their carpool rides. Sabrina eyed Sammi for a moment, changing the radio station to get a reaction for the music. Nothing. Sabrina narrowed her eyes at Sammi, seeing her only focused on the freeway.
“You good? Did Nikki piss you off this morning?” asked Sabrina, relaxing in the passenger seat.
“What? No, we’re fine. why?” replied Sammi, glancing at Sabrina quickly.
“Well, you just seem quiet for a morning. Did you get into an argument with Athena?” said Sabrina.
“No, we’re fine. She hasn't done anything to annoy me for a while,” replied Sammi.
“And she’s not asking Emma 100 questions?” asked Sabrina again.
“No, Emma is doing a pretty good job at hiding which I feel kind of bad for,” muttered Sammi, tucking a hair behind her ear.
“Yeah but Athena doesn’t need to know about Nikki if it’s not serious business. Emma can handle holding a little truth to Athena. She would’ve spilled already if she couldn’t,”
“Oh, by the way, we are gonna have some visitors at work,” mumbled Sammi, staring up at a traffic light. Sabrina raised an eyebrow to Sammi, “Motley’s coming for a meeting with Mr. H,” added Sammi with a glare.
“Oh shit. That’s gonna be fucking awkward,” muttered Sabrina.
“Thanks, S! You know how to lift my spirits in times of need!” sarcastically barked Sammi with a fake smile.
“I’m sorry, but come on you know how bad everyone is towards each other. It’s not like Motley is a happy family band that don’t piss people off especially not each other,”
“Yes I know, but you couldn’t be optimistic as we’re pulling up to work?” asked Sammi.
“You really want me to give you extremely fake hope?” Sabrina uttered blandly, almost hurting to say words.
“Yep!”
“Fine! Things could be completely great and Mr. H won’t chew their asses. It is all good!” shouted Sabrina as Sammi pulled into an empty parking lot space of the office building. Sammi rolled her eyes, glaring at Sabrina who didn’t want to sugarcoat things so early on this Monday morning. Turning off the ignition and opening the door, Sammi left Sabrina hanging but hearing her catch up behind. Sabrina’s long legs made it easier to speed walk right by Sammi in comparison to her short stature. “Okay, maybe the meeting won’t be the worst thing ever. Do you know what they’re gonna be discussing?” asked Sabrina, opening the glass door for Sammi as they entered the building. The girls did their routine of polite smiles to anyone that passed by them, heading to the elevators. Sammi smashed the up button, leaning against the wall. “I have no idea, Mr. Harrison really doesn’t explain in great detail to anyone,” uttered Sammi. Sabrina was about to speak until more people gathered around the two girls, entering the elevator with them. Sammi and Sabrina glanced at each other, stuffed into the cramped elevator with unknown people.
In a short time, the girls were finally alone again, walking out to their respected work areas. “I just don’t want them to make a fucking scene to anyone. I’m expecting the worst reactions when Mr. Harrison orders them around,” muttered Sammi to Sabrina. The girls came to a halt in the middle of cubicles when suddenly, a young intern came walking fast, holding a notepad against her chest. “Hi, Sabrina! Hi, Sammi!” said the intern with enthusiasm.
“Hi, Jessica…” the girls said in unison, almost groaning at the sight of her. Jessica smiled happily, Sammi not understanding how someone could be so cheerful this early in the day.
“How’s your guys morning going? It’s such a beautiful summer day!” exclaimed Jessica, having a pep in her step.
“Great. What do you want?” asked bluntly Sammi, crossing her arms as Sabrina withheld a smirk.
“I came to tell Sabrina something. We’re needed in the conference room right now to set stuff up for a meeting. Apparently, all of Motley Crue is coming!” excited Jessica was, only making Sammi sulk more, infuriated.
“Why me? I’m not gonna be an intern anymore after next week,” asked Sabrina. Scowling at Jessica.
“But you’re still an intern… come on if we finish early maybe we can catch Motley walking in,” said Jessica, bouncing on the balls of her feet with a smile.
“A little too excited to see a band, aren’t we Jessica? It’s not like you haven’t seen one walk around here before” teased Sammi, giving a smile that made Jessica scared of the girls. Sabrina biting down on her index finger, not caring if Sammi hurts someone’s feelings today. It was fun to see sometimes.
“Well, they are a cool band. Plus they aren’t bad to look at, especially Nikki. That’s all,” mumbled Jessica, feeling small to Sammi even when being the same height.
“Sorry to burst your bubble Jess, but I don’t think you’re very much Nikki’s type. Trust me, we’re pretty close,” said Sammi, patting Jessica on the arm, hearing Sabrina chuckle at them. Jessica pressed her lips tightly, shoulders falling a bit.
“Besides I already get to see Motley on a normal basis anyway. They’re not that rare to see after a while,” added Sabrina.
“I’m gonna head to my desk. Have fun arranging water bottles,” Sammi told Sabrina, walking from the two without caring of Jessica’s feelings. Jessica looked up at Sabrina with big eyes only getting a shrug from the taller girl.
“You really should’ve seen that one coming, Jessica,” said Sabrina walking past the redhead to her desk. Jessica only followed the girls' footsteps, ready to work.

Sammi knocked on the heavy wooden doors, MR. HARRISON displayed on a gold plaque.
“Come in,” Mr. Harrison announced, Sammi pushing the door open. “Oh good morning, Samantha, how are we doing on this Monday?” asked Mr. Harrison, peeking above his leather notebook while sitting behind his expensive glass desk.
“Pretty good. I’m just happy to start another week, and be with my favorite boss,” said Sammi, smiling as she stood right in front of Mr. Harrison with perfect posture.
“Oh you flatter me, Samantha, but that please save it for when you’re trying to leave early on Fridays. I hope you remembered the meeting I told you on Friday. You’ll need to write down everything I say because I have a feeling I’ll be too busy talking my head off,” said Mr. Harrison, shutting his notebook tight to hand over to Sammi. Sammi took the notebook in her hands but began thinking for a moment.
“I’m sorry sir, but don’t you think it could be more beneficial to have an intern write your notes. Take Jessica for example who can get more practice since she just started,” explained Sammi, still putting on a generous smile for more convincing.
Mr. Harrison frowned hard at Sammi, his forehead wrinkles becoming deep crevasses. “Are you sure you aren’t just coming up with excuses to avoid this meeting with a certain band?” asked Mr. Harrison.
“Of course not, sir,” uttered Sammi.
“Well while I appreciate your care for the interns, you are going to be at the meeting right next to me rather you like it or not,” ordered Mr. Harrison, making Sammi drop her shoulders for a moment. She nodded, beginning to head to the doors until Mr. Harrison interrupted her walk. “I do have a question, Samantha. What are you going to do now that you have a degree?” asked Mr. Harrison. Sammi walked back slowly as she thought of an answer.
“I really don’t know. I’m just going to be working until I feel I should go back to school,” answered Sammi.
Mr. Harrison nodded slowly, “Well if you need any help, I do have connections with people in different medical branches. All you need to do is ask,”
“Thank you, Mr. Harrison, I appreciate it,” said Sammi, turning around as a gentle knock came from outside of her bosses office. Jessica peeked her head behind the heavy door, shuffling into the office.
“Sorry to interrupt but Motley Crue is here Mr. Harrison,” said Jessica in a small soft voice.
“Huh, they’re on time for once. Thank you, Jessica. Come along, Samantha,” said Mr. Harrison, fixing his blazer as he stepped to the door, smiling at the two young girls. Sammi rolled her eyes, grabbing a pen from the desk to act as an employee with no connections to this band. Jessica stood by the doorframe, eyes following Sammi get closer to her. Sammi scowled at Jessica staring at her, halting in front of her.
“Can I help you with something? Or are you just gonna keep staring?” barked Sammi, walking away from the nervous young girl.
*
Mr. Harrison marched down the halls of the office floor, Sammi being his shadow all the way to the conference room. Sammi straightened her posture, balancing perfectly in her work heels while entering the vast boardroom. She almost held her breath from seeing the band seated down, quickly noticing her designated seat being occupied by Tommy. Doc, Vince, and Nikki all sat to the left of Mr. Harrison, not seeing Sammi walk. Samm couldn’t help but give small glances to the blonde man when he wasn’t looking. Mick and Tommy smiled shortly at the young girl, Sammi flicking Tommy’s ear to make him move down a chair. They give each other a kiss on the cheek as Sammi sat down finally, her sight carried out across Nikki who looked almost asleep behind his dark sunglasses. She stayed clear of making eye contact with Vince, feeling the stare once again.
“Okay let's get this meeting on its way,” announced Mr. Harrison, sitting at the head of the table like always. “I’d first like to tell the boys congratulations on the album, even after the many many delays, people love it. You’ve managed to fix one thing,” said Mr. Harrison with firmly pressed lips, giving a cold stare to everyone. The silence could be cut with a knife, Doc already thinking of what to say to make things civil. “Because of the new album, you must now go on tour for promotion. Also because it is written on the contracts, and you must all still follow it,” ordered Mr. Harrison.
“I believe this would be great for the boys to hit the road again. They’ve had plenty of rest for a good long tour,” said Doc, nodded along, eyeing Sammi from across the table, writing everything down at lighting speed.
“I’m not so sure  rest  is the right word for their break of touring. I’m also not sure about a long tour for these men,” said Mr. Harrison. Sammi stopped writing for a moment, switching glances between her boss and the boys. Nikki would clear his throat every so often to drink water, while only Vince seemed to be paying attention. Their eyes catching each other for a split second before Sammi looked down at her notes. “We will only make North American dates ranging from the beginning of August to the third week of November, pretty easy for you rockstars,”
“Mr. Harrison with all due respect, I do believe these boys can do more than just North America. These men can go to Europe or Asia right after November,” said Doc. “The album has been doing great for the first week. You said it yourself,”
Mr. Harrison leaned back into the desk chair, crossing his arms as he glared right at Doc. “Doc. You really think Motley Crue can tour by themselves for more than four months without messing something up?” asked Mr. Harrison, only seeing Doc slowly retreat.
“They’ve had their moments, but yes. I do think we can just pick up after Thanksgiving,” uttered Doc.
“By moments you mean the multiple things that have been brought to my attention that raise concern. Tabloids with pictures of Nikki & Tommy intoxicated at almost every single day on my desk. The incident happening in one of the recording studios. A singer who has a bigger record than all my other talent. Do you know I’ve never had to deal with any of these things in my lifetime in this industry?”
Vince, Tommy, Mick, and even Nikki all turned their eyes on Sammi, Sammi looking only at her notes or boss. Sammi only gave the proper secretary to look for everyone to display. Mr. Harrison snapped his fingers, gaining the attention back to him from everyone. “Do not look at Samantha. She’s not your friend. She’s not your sister. She’s doing her job right now. You all pay attention to me. You are all lucky I’m even allowing a headlining tour. If you all don’t lose me money, I’ll allow a European extension at the beginning of the year,” said Mr. Harrison. Sammi stays quiet, looking back at Nikki having trouble keeping his head up. “We will go as I said starting in August. Any further questions or interruptions?”
“I have my court date the second week in September,” said Vince, speaking up for the first time. Everyone became silent again, switching glances between Harrison and Vince. Sammi gave a sympathetic look to Vince for once in a long time.
“We will make sure there is a week off in September for you to come back, Vince. Anything else?” asked Mr. Harrison.
“Everything will run smoothly, Mr. Harrison. I reassure you on that,” said Doc.
Mr. Harrison scuffs at Doc. “I’ll believe it when I see my money back in my wallet,” Mr. Harrison stood up from his seat, buttoning the middle of his blazer once again. “Samantha, there are documents in the back of that notebook. Please give it to Peterson in legal. Meeting dismissed,” ordered Mr. Harrison to Sammi as he left the boardroom. The weight in the room soon lifted, Doc dragging a hand down his face. Sammi relaxed her back, slumping in the office chair as she sighed loudly. Doc rose from his seat, reaching over Vince to smack Nikki in the head to wake him up. Nikki only groaned, resting his head in the palm of his hand.
“You all better listen to everything your boss just said,” said Doc, standing up to grab a bottle of water.
“Don’t worry I barely listen to everything my boss says,” muttered Sammi getting a chuckle from Tommy and Mick, Vince withholding a smile.
“Everything is gonna be fine,” slurred Nikki, yawning out loud. Sammi couldn’t help but keep an eye on Nikki from his demeanor.
“Yeah, I fucking doubt that,” mumbled Vince.
“Things would be fine if you all just acted like adults for once,” remarked Sammi, glaring at Nikki and Tommy who didn’t care.
“We got it covered. We can pretend to be responsible for a good while,” said Tommy, patting Sammi on the head.
“If only we had Sammi tour with us again to keep us in shape,” croaked Mick, readjusting his sunglasses. “We could really use you, little girl,”
“Yeah fuck that. I’d be unemployed and broke then be on a bus with my ex for a long time,” added Sammi, flipping her hair to one side. Everyone from Doc to Mick switched glances between Sammi and Vince, seeing Vince’s discomfort. Sammi raised an eyebrow at every, curling her lip. “What? Someone had to fucking say it. He’s here at my work bothering me,” grumbled Sammi, pointing a sharp finger at Vince. Vince shook his head, pulling on his earlobe.
“So you’re not even gonna say my name anymore?” barked Vince, crossing his arms. Sammi rolled her eyes, not caring if she looked rude to Vince. “I thought at least here you’d give me something, and not keep ignoring me,”
“My god you’re so dramatic,” Sammi mumbled under her breath. “Alright, here's something! Can you kindly shut the fuck up, Vince? Last time I checked I told you I wanted to be away from you,” bossed Sammi, staring coldly at Vince. Vince flared his nostrils, knocking his knuckles against the hard wooden table.
“Enough you two. Boys you’re free to go. I don’t want to hold Sammi from her job any further,” said Doc, grabbing his briefcase and stepping into the hallway. Vince was the first to jump out of his seat, not caring to say goodbye to anyone from his band. Mick squeezed Sammi’s shoulder before he left, showing his usual form of compassion. Tommy stood up, stretching out to feel his long spine crack seeing Nikki just stay quiet.
“Hey Sixxter, I’m gonna hit the restroom. Wait for me in the lobby,” said Tommy, getting a groan in response. “See you later Sammi,” Tommy kissed Sammi on the forehead before disappearing in the hallway. Sammi waved Tommy a goodbye, keeping her eyes on Nikki’s silence. She could hear him begin to lightly snore, making her finally walk over and take the empty seat right of him.
Sammi shook his shoulder roughly, hearing more groans in return. Nikki slowly turned his head to Sammi, staying hidden behind his dark sunglasses.
“What?” croaked Nikki, slumping in his seat and crossing his arms.
“What?” mimicked Sammi, raising an eyebrow to him. “What’s going on with you? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Everything’s-” Sammi interrupted Nikki, pushing his sunglasses above his head. Immediately Sammi could see something was entirely right. Nikki’s eyes looked dull and dark. Dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept in years, the whites of his eyes almost turning pink all around. Sammi frowned at Nikki, Nikki pushing her hand away to hide behind his glasses again.
“You’re not fine. Seriously Nikki what’s going on with you?” asked Sammi again, softened her expression with compassionate eyes.
“I haven’t been feeling the best lately,” uttered Nikki, taking his glasses off to rub his eyes. “I haven’t been able to sleep… for some reason,” lied Nikki. He knew exactly why he couldn’t sleep at night anymore. Unlike coke, heroin made him awake at all hours even when he didn’t shoot up after a while.
“How long have you been like this?” asked Sammi, putting her hand on top of Nikki’s. Nikki could help but feel a little ping in his chest from the small act of affection. Nikki knew he had to make up a lie fast to not lose the small affection he likes from Sammi.
“Going on a week? That’s why I left last night. I didn’t want to wake you up by accident especially when you have work,” said Nikki, shooting a lopsided grin to Sammi. Nikki silently prayed Sammi bought his lie, lying to himself it was going to be the last lie. Sammi pursed her lips, looking between Nikki and the desk for some room to think.
“Alright, I guess that makes sense,” cautioned Sammi. “Thanks for leaving a note by the way. The princess appreciates it,” smiled happily Sammi, making Nikki’s frown turn upside down for a moment. Nikki lightly snaked his hand behind Sammi’s neck, pulling her in for a surprise kiss. Sammi’s eyes went wide, pushing Nikki away to look back at the open door. “You really like to get to the edge of getting caught don’t you?” smirked Sammi.
Nikki smirked at Sammi, “Admit it. It’s pretty fun. Especially when you’re looking sexy in this outfit,” Nikki’s hand crept up Sammi’s thigh, bringing her chair closer to him with his foot. Sammi’s heart began to race, feeling Nikki’s hand feature between her legs. She gripped his wrist tight, stopping Nikki from any further moves. Sammi looked deep into his eyes, trying her hardest to resist kissing away the smirk on Nikki’s lips.
“I’m at work. And you should get some sleep,” said Sammi, pushing herself away from Nikki. Nikki shrugged his shoulders, putting on his glasses as he rose from the seat. “Oh, I’m gonna go out with some guys tonight. Don’t be surprised if I come knocking on your door. Maybe then I’ll sleep,” said Nikki, kissing Sammi on the cheek. Sammi shook her head, smiling slightly to herself, looking over her shoulder to Nikki leaving. Sammi fell back against the chair, huffing loudly. She could feel the nerves in her body calm down, noticing her palms were becoming sweaty. Being in complete silence made her process the sight of Vince, being right in front of her. Was she being too hard on him? Should she talk to Vince finally after months of this? The questions that always played in Sammi’s head, played louder than ever today. Sammi only took a deep breath in and stood up to be a grown-up like she’s supposed to be.
July 5, 1985
“Sammi, I don’t think I can keep lying to Athena,” said Emma, pouring three glasses of white wine from Sammi’s collection. Sabrina and Sammi each placed a bowl of food on the small glass dining table, sitting down for their Friday dinners together. Sammi took a sip of her wine before even thinking of what to say in this conversation. “I get it. I’m your best friend, but Athena is also my girlfriend,” pleaded Emma, serving herself a portion of cold pasta salad.
“What is she even asking you, Em? I doubt Sammi’s making it obvious,” said Sabrina, grabbing a piece of chicken with her salad.
“I know she’s not, but Athena can’t help but keep her nose out of Sammi’s life. Almost every single time I say we went out, she asks if you got with someone,” shared Emma, eating with a touch of annoyance.
“Well tell her to stay out of it. I already told Athena I didn’t want her or Tommy anywhere near my love life,” spat Sammi.
“It’s a love life between you and Nikki?” asked Sabrina, smirking at Sammi with a quizzical expression. Sammi shot a glare at Sabrina, making her giggle amongst herself. “Maybe you have to remind your sister again, Sam. Say it isn’t nice to be badgering her girlfriend because you two are friends,”
“I’m glad we keep you around. You solve all our problems at record speed,” joked Emma, raising her glass to cheer with Sabrina. Sabrina gladly clanked her wine glass with Emma’s, Sammi playfully shaking her head. “I second this reminder. You’d also be helping out me and yourself,”
“I would love to, but Athena never learned to listen if you haven’t already figured it out,” mumbled Sammi, drinking the chilled wine.
“That’s probably the one thing I don’t like about her, but in this case, it comes from a place of love. Please still try though,” told Emma to Sammi, giving her a lopsided grin.
“What really is the worst thing if at least Athena knew about Nikki and you?” asked Sabrina.
“Athena would tell Tommy, Tommy would tell Vince, and Vince would yell at my ass. And a mad Vince is the last thing I want in my life,” informed Sammi, refilling for a second glass of wine.
“You really care what Vince thinks or you just don’t want to deal with his shit?” added Emma, scrunching her eyebrows at Sammi. Sammi thought about it for a moment, not knowing if she just never wanted to hear from Vince ever again.
“It’s more of I’ve been a bitch to him for 6 months, so I don’t want him to think I’m two-faced. Because I know his mind will run wild like it always has with Nikki,” admitted Sammi, shrugging her shoulders.
“You can’t be two-faced if all you did was have sex when you were single. You chose Vince and he fucked up. He still needs to know that and be reminded from time to time. Like at the meeting,” said Sabrina.
“The one moment I wished I worked at that fucking office,” utter Emma, gulping her last bit of wine. “Since we are on the topic of Vince, have you ever thought about talking to him? You don’t think you deserve some answers?”
“I have but I don’t know how to talk to him without sounding like a bitch anymore. It’s almost as if he made me get an attitude and Nikki made it worse,” pondered Sammi, pushing the last of her around with a fork.
“Like that poor poor Jessica girl you read to filth?” joked Emma, giggling louder at Sammi scowl to her. Emma shrugged her shoulder with a playful smile.
“Maybe you could write down everything you want to know? It could help you keep your thoughts in order instead of going off from your emotions,” suggested Sabrina, wiping the corner of her mouth as she finished her food.
“Emma’s right, you do solve our problems at record speed,” answered Sammi with a soft smile. “I guess that would be a good starting point, and talk before he leaves again… But it’s so nice being mean to him!” whined Sammi, pouting at Sabrina like a little girl. Sabrina shot a look at Sammi that made her quit the pouting and straight her shoulders, almost like a mother. “Fine, I’ll try my hardest to be civil and demand answers with kindness,”
“Atta girl,” encouraged Sabrina, lightly punching Sammi's shoulder. “It could bring you some great closure,”
Sammi smiled to herself, beginning to clear out the dining table with Emma’s help. “Or maybe it’ll just make me sadder than ever,” shouted Sammi, dropping the dirty dishes in the sink to wash later as she drank her wine.

Tumblr media
When you got home you straight went to your room and laid on your bed thinking through what has just happened today. The canteen, the guitar lesson, and the fact that the school's best rock band met you. You came back to reality when you heard a knock on your door. "Come on in!" You said preparing yourself to tell about your day for. Your mother's peaked in the corner of the entrance.
"Is everything alright, honey? I don't want to disturb or anything."
"Yeah, I think." You murmured.
"Well, that didn't sound too good. Want to talk about it?" She asked stepping in the room. When you nodded she closed the door behind herself and jumped on your bed with an excited face. "Tell me everything!"
"Ahh, mom! Don't so that face, it's fucking creepy." You groaned into one of your pillows.
"Language, little lady."
"Alright. So nothing unusual happened. I was clumsy as always and then I embarrassed myself in front of the whole canteen so nothing new."
"Oh, honey. I'm so sorry."
"No worry, mom. At least, the fact that I did it next to the best rock band in the school just makes it even better." You were quite a sarcastic person. And you loved it.
"Sounds good. And what about the lesson? Was it good?" You raised one of your eyebrows while showing her your blue and green and also swollen wrist.
"Then what did you do? You came home pretty late."
"Actually, I had my first lesson today." You almost blushed thinking back how kind and understanding Mick was. "And it was quite... useful. The tutor is kind."
"He or she?" Your mother smirked recognizing your face.
"He." You sighed.
"Now I understand everything."
"I see, your hunger came back yesterday," Simon observed watching you eating two sandwiches in 5 minutes.
"Phrovlemh?" You asked with a full mouth glaring at Simon. His answer was just a shrug though his face was still puzzled.
"And I can't see why we have to enter from the other side of the canteen when came in!" Emma complained, eating her salad. Tommy and the others were all sitting at their spot and the drummer was telling about his new ideas for the concerts. Nikki and Vince were all ears though Mick didn't pay much attention. He pretended to be writing his homework though his mind was on yesterday's events. Your passion for music and your caring personality, since you haven't told anyone about the lessons. Mick was just hoping that you would keep your words and so it was a pleasant disappointment. You were sitting with your back to him making things easier. He couldn't make it what you and your friends were talking about but he could see that Simon. More like Simon's look in his eyes, something Mick was friendly with. He knew that look.
"Mick!" Nikki kicked his friend under the table.
"What?" Mick groaned from the pain.
"What do you think?"
"About what?"
"Have you even listened in the last 15 minutes?"
"He was probably daydreaming about (Y/N)," Vince said to Tommy with a smirk. This time it was Mick's job to kick the singer. "So, we were...were talking about a party next Friday, at our place. Damn, man!" Vince pouted rubbing his ankle.
"I don't care."
"That was fast. Are you sure you don't want to come?" Nikki inquired. He knew Mick was not a party animal but sometimes it would be good for him..to socialize from time to time.
"I have never been more confident in a decision more." He said taking a sip from his juice. He wished it was something stronger.
"Hey, Sixx!" Vince leaned closer to his bandmate and whispered something in his ear so quiet Mick couldn't hear. But from the look on Vince's face and he gesturing towards at your table, Mick knew that the singer was planning something he won't like.
"I don't know, man. I don't think it's a good idea. She doesn't look like someone who is used to these things."
"At least you could apologize. Properly, if you know what I mean." Vince was grinning like a mad man but Nikki just shook his head.
"Okay. I will ask but we won't persuade her if she resists." He put his finger up as a threat.
"Alright. Understood."
"That girl has already suffered because of us." Nikki sighed.
"Hey, Mick did you understand the second task? I can't figure it out." Tommy has been struggling with a math problem since coming up with the party idea.
"Tommy. Tell me one task you understand. That would be easier." Mick snapped, closed his book, and stood up from their table.
"What did I say?" Tommy asked, a lot of question marks flying above his head. Mick was walking towards you but you couldn't see it, neither that he would push your books from the table.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Mick bend down and picked up your books from the ground. Emma smirking while Helen was waiting for your reaction. "Let me pick you up." After he gathered most of your books without a word he left.
"What the hell was that?" You asked trying to find a reason.
"Didn't you see his face?" Emma was already annoying and you knew if she has planned something there was nothing that could change her mind. If she was sure that someone was in love with you then it was hella true, at least according to her.
"Why would've we watch his face?" Simon asked.
"Boys." Emma sighed and continued her meal, occasionally glancing at you with that evil smirk on her face. "Speaking of, look who are walking in our way!" You turned around to see those guys. Again! You tried to make yourself smaller and smaller but you didn't manage to. What would you give if you could become invisible!
"Khm. Hey, guys!" Nikki greeted.
"Hello. How can we help you?" Emma was so helpful as always. Helen barely said a thing today and it was bothering you.
"We were wondering if...you.." Nikki started. He never had problems asking out somebody but he was ashamed of himself.
"If (Y/N) and you would come to our place next Friday! What do you think?" Vince helped out his friend pulling him in a sideways hug. You glanced at Helen who shook her head slightly along with Simon whereas Emma was already nodding. "(Y/N)?" Vince turned to you.
"I don't know. I-I have to ask my parents." You mumbled rubbing your arm.
"I think what she meant that we are going. Just tell us the details." Emma handed a paper and a pen to Vince who accepted it happily and jotted down the address and his number just in case. He put it down at the table and giving you a final look he left with Nikki.
"What's just happened? Again?" Helen asked still in shock.
"See ya later," Simon said before running to catch up with Emma and Helen leaving you at your locker. You needed some books for the next class and more time to process all the things that happened not long ago. You promised that you will never eat again there. It was too much now. Not only the boys but that all eyes in the canteen were watching you and Vince and Nikki. They couldn't imagine what you were talking about and the reason why they would even talk to you and your friends. They were popular ones. They don't talk to peasants. You put your math book in the closet but a piece of paper landed on the ground. While picking it up you looked around to see if anyone was watching.
Don't go. -M.
That's all. Who the hell would...? Oh. Mick must've inserted the paper when he pushed your books down, now, intentionally. You put the paper in your pockets and headed to class. It has already started and the teacher gave a death glare to you while you mumbled a shy sorry. You quickly took a seat next to Emma and leaned closer to her.
"About that party..."
"What is it?"
"I don't think I'm going. My parents won't let me..." You tried your best to sound honest.
"(Y/N), you have the coolest parents of the four of us, they will let you come to the party. And I don't want to hear any more excuses to avoid this party with the Crüe. You are coming."
"But what if I don't want to-" You couldn't finish your sentence because your teacher, Mrs. Jackson, stopped talking and was staring at your with crossed arms. You lowered your head and started to write down the things you wanted to tell Emma. "I don't want to go. I'm a party animal. And especially with those guys. They don't like me." You handed the paper to Emma who groaned reading it. She angrily wrote down her answer and tossed the paper back to you.
"I said NO EXCUSES! What are you hiding?" You placed your face in your palms and took a deep breath.
"Is there a problem, (Y/N)? Do you find it boring what I'm telling?" Mrs. Jackson asked stepping in front of your desk.
"No, Mrs. Jackson."
"Not that you arrive late, but you don't even pay attention in my class. You disappointed me. You will go to extra classes after school today." She said and write your name in her notebook. You hated her along with her stupid tasks. She and her freaking 'x'-s. Get a life! Emma gave you a sympathetic look and write in your notebook.
"Library after class."
"So what do you think of a test next lesson?" Mrs. Jackson cheered. The answer was a quote big no. "You don't know fun.”
When you found your usual spot in the library you saw Helen and Simon there, too. You didn't want to include them as well, you don't want to drag them. You cursed in all the ways possible but went to your table.
"So mind telling us what the hell is going on with you?" Emma asked looking up from her book.
"What do you want to hear? Cause you clearly already know what you want to hear!" You hissed through your teeth. Emma angrily closed her book and smashed in on the table.
"For example, you said that some Gavin Smith held the guitar lesson. I did a bit of research and I found out that there is no guy with this name in this school. For fuck's sake, not even this town." Emma was pretty pissed off, you could tell.
"She must've had the reason to keep this as a secret, Emma. Calm down." Helen snapped at her friend.
"Oh, of course. She and her creepy secrets." She spit. If she wasn't your friend you would totally punch her. She has been quite irritating nowadays.
"And why don't you want to come to the party?" Simon spoke up. He cared about you truly, but he didn't like that you always were in your room and didn't do any fun.
"I have reasons." You mumbled leaning back in your chair. If Mick advised you not to go he must have the reasons. He knew those guys like his own brothers and he looked like if he cared about you. He wanted to defend you from whatever those guys are capable of. Not to mention that you didn't like parties. Halloween and Christmas party at the school, okay, but you haven't been to any house party yet. You really need to find a good reason why aren't you going.
"Really. It isn't because you are afraid of other people?! You aren't able to socialize, that's your problem. We are just trying to help you!" Emma ranted. This was the last drop.
"If you really think that why are you talking to me. I clearly suck as a company." You stood up and left them there and headed to the room where you will spend your extra lessons. Cool.
"Can you tell mom I will arrive late?" You called your brother from a phone booth in the hallway.
"What did you do?" He laughed. He wasn't the sympathetic one.
"Mrs. Jackson." You lowered your voice not to let anyone heard that name.
"Does that woman still teach there?! How I hated that woman, damn!"
"Yeah, I understand somehow. So will you pass my message?"
"Yes, you rebel." After you hang up the phone you ran to the classroom. At least this time you weren't late. You looked immediately at the teacher's desk to see who will supervise you but he hasn't arrived yet. You let out a deep breath and looked around in the class. Your body tensed when you saw them. This can't be true. Luckily they haven't noticed you so you quickly put your hoodie on and turned your back to them. Maybe this way they won't notice you. You cautiously put your books on the desk not to draw any attention at you.
"Good afternoon!" The teacher said when he entered the class. He didn't bring anything but a book with himself. He sat down and looked at the Vince and Tommy in the back and chuckled. "What a surprise. What did you guys do this time?"
"It wasn't my fault. Tommy was the one who scratched 'Mötley Crüe' on the desk with a knife." Vince mumbled while glaring at the drummer.
"It was your knife, Vinnie. And you said that we should promote our band. I just did what you told." Tommy said with a calm tone. You just rolled your eyes.
"And who are you? I haven't seen you here." The blood froze in your veins and you wiped your wet palms on your trouser. You cleared your throat and you told your name at a very low voice so only the teacher could hear. "Sorry, can you repeat it? I'm such a deaf person." He joked.
"(Y/N)." You groaned.
"(Y/N)? That name sounds familiar." Tommy mumbled. You glared at your teacher who looked puzzled.
"You idiot, that's the chick who fell at the canteen!" Vince said while standing up and walking to you. He sat down next to you and leaned closer. "Hello, (Y/N)." He smirked. These two hours will be longer than you expected.
