hiya can I req piers,raihanx F!reader all separate with reader being a magician and decides to prank em but it accidentally goes wrong? angst to fluff or u can just make it angsty ?

Sure. This is my first time writing angst, so I hope it's good. Trigger warning: Bones almost breaking and finger being "cut off"

Prank Gone Wrong

You would pull pranks on Raihan at least once a month. It was easy to do since you are a magician. Your current prank includes you making it look like a demon possessing you. It went too far because your arm had almost snapped, but your Gengar left your body before that could happen. Raihan was so upset and angry that you thought that would be funny. You decided that you would stay at Melony's house for a while so that Raihan could have his space. You did get a lecture from Melony. Once he was ready to talk things over you promised that you wouldn't do a prank like that ever again. You two even made and signed a written contract just to be sure. And you two spent the day watching tv.

You were an illusionist type of magician. You could make it appear that you were missing a finger up to making a whole Pokémon disappear. You did use your abilities to your advantage when it comes to pranking Piers. You thought it would be funny to make it seem like you had just cut off your finger. You and Piers were making dinner and you let out a yelp. He asks you if you were alright. You said no and showed him the "damage". He went paler than he already is as he tried to put pressure on it with a paper towel. You felt bad when you told him that it was a prank. You started apologizing as your finger reappeared. You were also crying at this point. You ended up locking yourself in your shared bedroom sobbing. Luckily his Obstagoon was in there and comforted you by holding you on the bed. After you finished crying and fell asleep was when Piers entered the room. He let the Pokémon know that he will take over and he just laid you down on the bed and tucked you in. He positioned himself under the blanket and he just held you throughout the night not planning on letting you go.

I’m weak, I picked Piers.

You’ve lived in Galar for a few years, and in that time you became close to the dark type gym leader, Piers.

You two spent a lot of time together, you even met his little sister! Whom seemed to like you, often going to you with problems. As some of her issues Piers would’ve turned into a mama Blaziken.

He’s always been so kind to you, little rough around the edges, but he’s such a sweetheart.

So when you found what looked to be the worlds cutest Pokémon in the wild area, you just had to catch it and show him!

The Pokédex says it’s an Applin! And it’s so tiny! He’s going to love it, he’s always liked small cute things.

As much as he’d lead you to believe otherwise.

Hopefully you can catch him before his show!

You are just so excited to show him! You know he’s lived in Galar all his life, but you’re just so filled with energy now, and you want to share it with him!

And you caught him just in time!

“Piers! Piers!”

The lanky man looks to you, half smile on his face.

“Hey, what’s got you all excited?”

He won’t lie, it’s adorable seeing you look so joyful, how your eyes light up, how your smile threatens to split your face.

These last few years of being your friend made him realize that, he loves you, he desperately is.

But being your friend is enough, he doesn’t want to risk not having you in his life.

“You won’t believe it! I caught the smallest, cutest little thing!”

You pull out the pokeball, releasing the small Applin inside. You gesture to the apple Pokémon in pure joy.

Piers’s eyes widen at the sight of the small creature.

True it’s a little smaller than what they should be, looking up at him.

“I caught it for you! I thought it was the perfect for a little napping buddy for you.”

True most his Pokémon are much too big for his lap anymore, though they try.

You look at your friend, your smile still wide, but you’re growing confused. His face is slowly blooming in color, his cheeks going from pink to red the longer he stares at the Applin and you.

You were confessing to him!? Him! You could do so much better than him, yet you picked him?

“Piers?”

You jump in surprise when he hugs you, his arms keeping a firm grip around you as his face is buried in the crook of your neck.

You wrap your arms around his waist, hugging him back.

“Are you okay?” He must’ve had a rough day.

You can’t imagine how stressed he must be, if this is what made him emotional. You aren’t sure what made him upset but you’re glad your gift is making him happy.

Piers can feel his heart speeding up, he can’t believe you confessed to him.

“Hey…”

“Yeah, Piers?”

“Do you…do you maybe wanna grab some lunch after my set? Or maybe go to a café later.”

Is he asking you out? Your heart lurches in your throat, your face burning at the realization he’s asking you out.

You never thought he’d ask! You were fully prepared to ask him out, but he beat you to it!

You nuzzle your face into his neck, your fists clenching the back of his shirt.

“Yeah, I’d like that a lot.”

You can’t believe you landed a date with Piers!

He can’t believe you confessed to him in such a sappy way, he adores it.

Why Obstagoon? A RaihanxPiers oneshot

I’m experimentimg with a blog series I have planned and RaihanxPiers (not to worry, I still like RaihanxLeon). Raihan just has to know, why is Obstagoon Piers’ ace.

Vibrating purrs blissfully escaped Obstagoon as Piers scratched behind his ears. After a long day dealing with an Impadimp infestation in Ballonlea and Team Yell’s overstimulating enthusiasm, the poor Dark Type deserved some spoiling.

Raihan had followed them home hoping to either challenge Piers to another battle or to hang out. Or both depending on how Piers was feeling.

Watching Obstagoon rest his head on Piers’ shoulder as he started petting him, curiosity crept in. It was pretty cute how Obstagoon seemed so affectionate with Piers. These Pokémon were feisty and scrappy. Certainly not this social in the wild in Raihan's experience. Yet, Piers’ Obstagoon seemed to love the attention and affection Piers gave him. Like a large bipedal Sylveon.

Piers certainly had a way with Dark Types. They loved him and Raihan was fairly certain that Piers was a Dark Type whisperer. Catching and trusting the Morpeko he caught for Marnie was proof of that. Yet, of all the Dark Types in Galar, Raihan was curious about one specifically for a very specific reason.

“Why Obstagoon?”

Piers’ head tilted. “Hm?”

Raihan got up and approached Piers. “Of all the Dark types in Galar, why is Obstagoon your ace? I always kind of saw you as a Grimmsnarl guy for an added punch against Fighting Types. Maybe even Scrafty.” He shrugged. “Heck, I feel like Toxtricity would be given your a musician and all. But Obstagoon?” Patting Obstagoon’s fur, he watched for possible defensive reactions. “He’s not delicate, but I’m sure it’s not easy battling against Bea or a well trained Lucario.”

Obstagoon snarled, snorting annoyingly. Piers chuckled, patting the Pokémon’s head. Nudging his head Piers silently motioned for Obstagoon to go inside.

“If we’re going off aesthetics, I think Obstagoon fits that perfectly.” Piers stated, opening the door. “And while I appreciate the concern, if you’re worried about his severe Fighting allergy,” he invited Raihan in once Obstagoon got inside and settled in, “we have work arounds for it. Besides, Obstagoon has been with me since I was eight. Ain’t no way I’m leaving him behind.”

“Oh?” Raihan followed Piers to the kitchen as Piers started to prepare dinner. “I assume he was your starter then.”

“More or less… Marnie! You home?!”

A door opened somewhere in the house. “Yeah!” Marnie shouted back.

“Burgers or curry?!”

“Curry! The spicy vegetarian one!”

“Alright!”

He chuckled as Marnie closed her door. He began bringing out ingredients, pots, and utensils while Raihan putz around the kitchen. As the water started warming up, Piers began chopping different a couple different vegetables and measuring out the spices.

“He’s actually the son of my family's Hoenn Linoone, Lonnie. He was a pretty mellow Linoone, and he didn't mind when five to six year old me tried to ride him like a Ponyta.” He chuckled at the memory.

“So you live in Hoenn?”

Piers nodded. “Born and raised until my father got a job in Hammerlocke when I was about eight and we had to move.”

“No kidding.” He glanced over at Obstagoon who was cozily resting on a heavily cushioned bed. “I’m guessing mom was a Galarian Linoone or and Obstagoon? Unless he hatched here and that caused a wonky region swicheroo.”

Piers nodded as he put the noodles in the now boiling water and the veggies in another pot. “We left him at the Daycare in Lilycove while we were on vacation to Alola.” He recalled, starting on the sauce. “During that time ended up getting pretty friendly with a Galarian Linoone named Luna. Didn’t expect it since he typically kept to himself and only really liked the Day Care workers.”

Raihan chuckled. “I’m guessing the owner of the Galarian Linoone wasn’t happy about Luna having an egg.”

“You’d think that but funnily enough, he wasn’t.” Piers set a timer for the pasta and veggies while he had the sauce warming up. He turned around leaning against the counter. “Sydney actually took it with humorous stride. Apparently, Luna was a rescue and he dropped Luna off hoping she could socialize with some other Pokémon while he was working on something for work.” Piers chuckled again. “He got that and then some.”

A spark shot across Raihan’s face as he stood up. “Wait… Sydney? As in Hoenn Elite Four Sydney?”

Piers nodded, scratching the back of his head. “Yeah.”

“That’s so cool.” Closing the gap between them, Raihan’s hands landed on both sides of Piers, holding the edges of the table. “Tell me more.”

Rolling his eyes, Piers groaned. “There isn’t much else to tell, but…”

As his parents continued to profusely apologize to Sydney, Piers wandered off. He knew not to go far, but Lonnie was already handling that as he trotted alongside him. Looking around, Piers was curious about Luna.

She looked so different from Lonnie, yet they were the same Pokémon. Lonnie’s fur was shades of tan while Luna was black and white. Her eyes were red while Lonnie’s were icy blue. And where Lonnie seemed aloft with an indifferent resting face, Luna looked so mischievous with a toothy grin.

Piers started walking towards Luna with Lonnie right beside him. She didn't seem mean despite her impish grin. And if Sydney saved her, she must have been nice.

Luna, who had been resting up until that point, blinked. Fur stood up cautiously as Piers got closer. She might not have seen him as a threat, but she also wasn’t sure if she could trust him yet. She let out a hiss when Piers took a step she didn’t like. This seemed to catch the attention of Sydney, but he didn’t react just yet.

Piers flinched, readjusting his position. Once he was close enough for comfort, he sat in front of Luna. Luna winced, sitting up. Bowing his head, Piers set his hands on the ground, inching one closer to her.

“Hi. I’m Piers.” He greeted. “You’re very pretty. It’s so cool that your fur matches my hair.”

Luna scanned the boy, curiously. Still on edge, she leaned forward a little to sniff him. Piers smiled as Luna sat back down. Her head tilted slightly as his smiled at her.

“I’m sorry if Lonnie was being rude.” Piers playfully tapped his head. “He’s friendly, but can be too friendly sometimes.”

Lonnie rolled his eyes as he stretched across Piers and lied down. Knocking his hand, Lonnie requested attention. Piers caved, petting Lonnie as he watched Luna.

“Can we be friends?” Piers asked.

Luna tilted her head again, considering his inquiry. Standing on all fours, she leaned in closer to Piers, startling him. She paused for a moment before sniffing him again. This time, taking in the aura from Lonnie as she did.

Her clawed paws hopped, sitting on Lonnie as she got a closer look at the boy. Piers’ heart was pounding as he watched Luna motionlessly. One wrong move and he could be toast.

A gasp escaped Piers, which alarmed his parents. However, Sydney stopped them as giggling ensued. Luna’s tail was wagging as Piers hugged her. She was licking him. Lonnie had moved, not wanting to get caught up in the fray. A shadow covered them, causing Luna to back off and curl up next to Piers.

“That was amazing.” Sydney praised, crouching down. “Luna hasn’t really liked anyone since I got her. Not even me most days.”

“She’s very nice.” Piers complemented.

Sydney nodded. “That she is.” He glanced at Luna, who was now contently purring. “You know what?” He went over to the day care couple, coming back with an egg. “I think you should have this?”

“That won’t be necessary, Sydney, sir.” Piers’ father chimed in. “He’s only eight. Too young to be a trainer.”

“If Luna is willing to trust him, I think he can start preparing.” He glanced at Piers. “Besides, you’re going to need Piers to help Luna get adjusted to living with you.” He pat Piers’ head. “And kid, I think you have a great future ahead of you.”

“My parents weren’t thrilled at first, but Luna proved to be a valuable member of the family.” Piers ran a hand through his hair. “She also seemed to be more at peace when we moved to Galar. Especially in her senior years. She probably felt at home.”

Hearing the timer go off, Piers twirled out from Raihan’s trap. As Piers turned off the oven and moved pots around, Raihan grabbed plates. Arms wrapped around Piers as he finished setting up the table.

“That was such a cute story.” Raihan complemented. “You know what I liked most about your story?”

“Hm?”

“When the big bad Flygon steals a kiss.”

“There was no…”

A quick kiss planted itself on Piers’ forehead. A second moved to his cheek. The last on porcelain lips.

“Raihan!” Piers gasped, playfully elbowing Raihan. “You don’t need to be so needy.”

“Hey, you let Obstagoon be affectionate. It’s my turn now.”

Raihan kissed Piers again as Marnie entered the dining room. This time hugging Piers. Marnie just glared at Raihan as her brother turned a shade if rose red.

“Sorry Marnie.” Raihan apologized with a smirk. “Your brother’s such a cute little Linoone that I couldn’t resist.”

She rolled her eyes, though she wouldn’t admit she was actually rather amused. Obstagoon, meanwhile, nudged Raihan with a growl, even less amused by the display. Piers patted Obstagoon’s back as he silently noted that everything was okay, his face still visibly red. And though Obstagoon would yield, Raihan couldn’t help but feel sinister daggers burning into him throughout dinner.

Don't worry, it's fine! Here's a lil Piers fluff for you (plus a clingy Obstagoon)

..........

'The audacity....' The dark gym leader frowned in dismay at his Obstagoon, who teasingly stuck its tongue out before closing its eyes. It was currently curled up against you, head resting on your chest as you gave the top of it gentle scritches.

You were just watching the latest match between Leon and Raihan on television, asking your boyfriend's ace who it wanted to see win this time.

But...it didn't seem to care much about the battle nor the outcome, as it ended up dozing off during the opening whilst snuggled comfortably in your arms.

Not long afterwards, Piers returned home to your shared apartment after hosting a fan meetup--one that was particularly exhausting as he was trying to put rumors that he's dating someone to rest. Neither of you were ready to tell the media just yet.

Alongside signing so much merch and taking seemingly endless selfies with his fans....it was all extremely draining. He didn't think he'd get this amount of attention when Spikemuth reopened, so it got overwhelming fast.

All he wanted to do now was cuddle with the person he loved most as thanks for watching his Pokemon while he was out..yet even after coming back into the living room in comfier clothes, Obstagoon still didn't release its hold on you, much to his ire.

It sure retained the same old habits it had as a little Zigzagoon. Piers remembered how it was always running around his heels, only to do a complete 180 in personality and become unusually calm and clingy in your presence.

There was just a certain aura to you that made it feel at ease. As it evolved, it continued remembering that it didn't need to put up some loud and tough persona whenever you were around.

You made it feel safe, and so it could lower its guard.

Piers didn't mind that at all.

What he did mind was the fact that it was being a little shit right at this very moment, knowing damn well he wanted to spend the rest of the night with you.

He was half a second away from giving his ace another earful, only to pause as you muttered something to the Blocking Pokémon. You were so quiet he didn't hear a word you said, and he quirked an eyebrow in confusion.

Moments later, Obstagoon just...let go of you and got up from the couch, crossing its arms and huffing. But it stuck its tongue back into its mouth as it shuffled over to one of the lounge chairs, sitting there and staring at the TV.

And just like that..you were free. No objections.

"Thanks, Obstagoon. 'ppreciate it."

Looking up, you smiled innocently at Piers as he sat beside you, still a bit annoyed. "Welcome home, love. How were your fans today?"

"Alright, I suppose." He sighed, shoulders eventually slumping with newfound exhaustion. "Had to tell them to cool it on the camera flashes...gave me a bloody migraine.."

"Awh..you poor, poor thing." You put your arms out to him. "C'mere, unless you want Obstagoon to-"

"No." Almost immediately he cuddled up to you, burying his head into your shoulder as his arms snaked their way around your torso. "He's gotten enough tlc from you tonight. It's my turn."

His gaze landed on the huffy Obstagoon sitting nearby, who gave him the old "stink eye" in return before focusing back on the television.

You just chuckled, stroking his hair as he eventually shut his eyes, slowly but surely forgetting about the stresses of the fan meetup and every other responsibility he had.

It's obvious you've stoked some kind of rivalry between a Pokémon and its trainer, though you weren't going to tease him about it anymore tonight.

He deserved to relax.

A bit of a strange request: maybe fluff ficlet with M!Zacian as a adoptive parent role to M!Vulpix!Reader with a sort of chronic pain? On the same trainers team too?

Hope this is ok! I was tempted just to project onto this one since I have to deal with chronic back pain due to scoliosis and my lower spine and one of my hips being rotated a bit. But I decided to keep it vague. Also the reader is named Prince because of the whole Swordward/Sheildbert thing.

And postgame spoilers for Sword/Sheild since this slightly goes into the process of catching the box legendaries. And mentions of endgame events!

A Heroic Parent(Male Vulpix!Reader with chronic pain with Male!Zacian adoptive father figure)

After the Darkest Day, and the eternabeam from Eternitus‘ eternamax form, you’ve noticed pain that wouldn’t go away. And two weirdos showed up and you knew it would get even worse somehow. That ended up in your trainer catching Zacian.

“But… please don’t go callin’ me anymore. Seems like I’m only getting called out when you’re in some sticky situation,” Piers said.

You couldn’t help but snicker at Piers’ comment.

“What do you think is s’funny?” Piers asked as he knelt to pet you and gave your trainer, the new champion, his rare league card.

As Piers, Sonia, and the others leave after Hop’s call from the Slumbering Weald, you whine in pain and Zacian tilts his head at you.

“One second, guys!” your trainer called out to the group, “Prince’s pain is acting up again!”

Zacian growled, not knowing what to protect you from, but willing to protect you from it.

“Don’t worry, Zacian, it’s just some chronic pain from an eternabeam, Prince is safe,” your trainer told the hero pokemon.

The other Pokémon picked you up and had you ride on its back to the Weald from Hammerlocke.

Of course, people stared at you, Zacian, and your trainer. The champion was walking through the wild area with one of the legendary heroes, Zacian, who had a little vulpix riding on his back.

Once Zamazenta calmed down, Hop told your trainer that he wished to become a Pokémon Professor. He said that chasing down the Dynamax pokemon in the gyms with your trainer and your lingering pain after the eternamax blast inspired him to help Pokémon.

Hop and your trainer decided to camp in the wild area that night. And as soon as you laid down to sleep your pain acted up again and Zacian raced to your side to help comfort you. He had you use his body almost like a pokebed so the ground couldn’t cause your pain to act up. It was nice to have a legendary Pokémon hero helping you through your pain.

Then I thought you meant that you and them were trainer's together when you two were younger. Ex-Trainers to Lovers

Raihan

You haven't been back to Galar since you were 16. Your family moved to Unova after your 16th birthday. You had to say goodbye to everything and everyone you knew.

You were especially upset to be leaving your trainer buddy Raihan. You knew that it wouldn't be the same now as it was back then. You met up with Raihan at a coffee shop near his home and decided to catch up.

"How was Unova? Did you make a new trainer buddy while you were there?"

You sighed and looked at him.

"You know that I could never replace you, Rai. You were and will always be my only trainer buddy."

"I know. It's just that it felt empty without you here. Leon is fun to battle, but it's just not the same."

You put your hands on his hands which makes him look at you.

"Rai, your feelings are valid. Now how about I tell you about the twin subway masters I got to battle."

~11 months later~

You were in the stands watching Raihan and Leon battle.

Of course you were wearing your Raihan merch and cheering him on. You noticed how he was off his game during the battle. After it ended you ran to the locker room. You knocked and the door opened, so you walked in. You saw Raihan with his head in his hands and you sat down next to him.

"If you don't want to talk about it that's okay."

That's when Raihan kissed your cheek.

"I'm in love you, Y/N. If you don't feel the same way then I completely understand. I understand because we haven't seen each other since we were sixteen."

You kissed his cheek and he looked at you with a surprised expression.

"I've never stopped loving you, Rai."

Piers

You and Piers were once rival trainers. Throughout the years many thought you and Piers hated each other. But it was all a fun game to you two. After Piers became a gym leader you two slowly drifted away.

You were walking around a clothing store in Spikemuth and spotted Marnie. She saw you and the two of you started talking. That was until Piers showed up to check on Marnie.

“Hey Piers. How is the life of a Gym Leader treating you?”

You asked him trying to make conversation

“It’s been alright. I’m thinking about retiring and passing the gym onto Marnie.”

You nod and notice that Marnie managed to slip away from the conversation.

“How have you been, Y/N?”

“I’ve been okay. Life has been boring without you honestly.”

Piers blushed and tried to hide it.

“I mean I guess that’s because I’ve been busy with the gym and stuff.”

“Would you like to… um get dinner with me sometime? Unless you’re busy and stuff.”

“I’d like that, Y/N”

~4 months later~

You and Piers were just hanging out as his house catching up.

“I bet you have people trying to date you all the time, Piers.”

“Yeah. It’s dumb because I don’t like any of them. I’ve only liked one person romantically.”

You look at him surprised.

“Really? Who? What’s their name? Are they from Galar?”

“Um… I actually like you romantically, Y/N.”

You blush and hold his hands gently.

“Since when?”

“Since forever I guess.”

“I honestly thought you didn’t feel the same way, Piers.”

You and Piers were about to kiss, but Marnie came in and interrupted.

“If you two are going to kiss please do so in his room, please and thank you.”

She states as she goes to her room. You and Piers laugh at the situation and finally kiss.

Heyooooo I’m back!

Had a panic attack at work yesterday and now it’s got me wondering how certain characters would react to their s/o having a panic attack. So could I get some headcanons for the submas bros, piers, and Raihan?

Maybe the s/o has a Pokémon like an absol or a ninetails(either variant both are wonderful) that is trained to sense when an attack will happen and usher them to a safe spot for when it happens?

- a very tired Pierced Anon (it’s like 1am rn I woke up briefly right as the requests opened)

Also I’m so sorry I couldn’t think of anything for Raihan, that wasn’t like the same as the others😭

⚫️Ingo⚫️

- the subway station has several safe rooms, scattered across each station.

- What he wasn’t expecting was to be greeted by your Ninetails. The Pokémon snuck up on him, tugging at his pants and nudging him towards one of the safe rooms.

- The fire type didn’t have to try hard, Ingo was already running just realizing they were yours.

- Only slowing down once to the room, it’s so much quieter here, and dimmer too.

- And there you sat, shaking and taking quick breathes.

- Ingo is quick to act, him and your ninetails working in sync together. Ninetails quickly snapping you back to reality, nudging you and laying their head on you, grounding you before Ingo steps in.

- “Dear, may I get close?”

- Your breaths are shaky, and look on the verge of tears, but you nod and raise a hand to bring him closer.

- Ingo instantly at your side. He takes off his work coat, and wraps it around you before sitting next to you.

- You lay your head on his shoulder, and he wraps an arm around you. Rubbing soothing circles and speaking to you as softly as he can.

- Talking about anything just to keep your mind occupied with him, and his words, and not about your panic.

- He radios Emmet, telling him the situation and that he will be in this safe room, with you, until you better.

⚪️Emmet⚪️

- your absol, to Emmet, is a blessing. Always knowing before you even know, and if in the subway, always rushing to Emmet.

- The two can usually be seen running at top speeds through crowds, just to get to you before your anxiety picks up.

- They always make it just in time, and get you into the office before you become so overwhelmed.

- Absol on one side of you, nuzzling against you arm or lap. Then on the other side of you is Emmet, nuzzling his face against your neck, humming and kissing you.

- They stay there, comforting you until the tears and shaking have stopped, and your breathing has slowed.

- “I’ve got you darling! I’m right here.”

- You get the neediest comfort there is, as Emmet makes jokes to get you to smile or laugh.

- Or he just pulls you to his lap, cuddling you until you say you’re fine and can leave the office.

- He’s smothering you with affection, until you’re ready to go.

🎸Piers🎸

- Your Absol and him are a team, your anxiety and panic attacks are no match for them.

- Just as your heart picks up, and your body starts to freeze up.

- There he is, and your Absol.

- Both takin you to somewhere calmer, and safer. Piers speaks to you the entire time, his voice low, and soft, so soothingly to you.

- He talks about his music, guitar types and history, and things he knows you like, just to calm you.

- Absol lays across your lap like a weighted blanket, while Piers’s jacket is over you, and he tells you funny stories of him and his Obstagoon when they were young.

- He just wants to keep your mind filled with things, that isn’t about anything bad you’re feeling.

- Once you seem to have calmed down enough, he asks how you’re doing.

- “We can stay here as long as you’d like, don’t worry about it.”

- He’s in no rush, and your comfort is his top priority.

- He will be damned if he leaves you.

OOKAY soo my bday is in 5 days (4th feb) :D and so i would love to ask for a part 2 of the tess story, along with mmmaybee some relationship hcs :) (i don't mind platonic or romantic, i'd be happy with anything!) Also! I hope you're doing well!❤️

(I had to take a break and update my fanfic so it wouldn't be as much of a nag as it was when I was trying to finish it.)

After what happened with Jake, the journey was becoming harder to bear with each obstacle.

There were times when both of you said nothing to each other, mourning the loss of your best friend.

Sure, Jake hadn't been your friend for the longest amount of time compared to your childhood friend but evidently, he had grown on you and Tess with how she reacted to his kidnapping.

It all went downhill from there after you defeated the Fluoruma gym, even with Tess present since she had come to tell you about the location of Team Eclipse's base.

Going forward, the ice around you upon entering the final cavern area chilled your bones, worsening as you spotted Tess confronting a group of Team Eclipse members.

Betrayal. Jake had joined them, now an admin with a neutral face. You had never seen Tess so horrified before.

You had to defeat him, or you'd be forced to join the team.

And only just barely, had you won, your last Pokémon down to a sliver of health.

Jake left with a dismayed look on his face.

Tess was heartbroken.

She let you go ahead with her to Frostveil, both of you walking in silence except for the times you battled with your Pokémon.

The battles did help the issue somewhat, however, you had heard a few talking about the Eclipse airship hovering above the frozen lake.

It wasn't there now, thankfully enough.

----

[FLUFF, AND A LIL' SOMETHING ELSE!]

The sea beyond the sand glittered like hundreds of sapphires in the sunlight, with clear water that was perfect for swimming. You had just exited your house, yawning with a stretch, ready for the day.

Though there was something nagging at the back of your mind, something important it seemed with how persistent the feeling was.

You did your usual daily activities, greeting the beach bums and such, however, your childhood friend wasn't in sight. Did you do something wrong? Was that what you were forgetting? Possibly so.

Not even the lighthouse was occupied. Strange.

It was then that you noticed a small note taped to a pole. Tearing it off, you read it.

MEET BENEATH THE BATTLE PIER.

The message had been typed, instead of handwritten. A small frown settled on your face as you rolled it up, stuffing it into your pocket.

You sauntered down to the beach, a particular bottom part of the pier covered up with surfing boards, and beach bums standing around it. Upon seeing you, they began panicking, settling to acting like there was nothing wrong.

''Excuse me? What's wrong?" You questioned upon approaching them. A dark-skinned woman glanced back at the surfboards, then back at you with an uneasy smile. Others watched on as you rubbed your arms, looking around. ''Please, I must know-''

''Pam, let them in.'' A voice called from within. The woman blinked owlishly before stepping aside and pulling a surfboard to reveal an entrance, or what you could make of one anyway.

Steeling yourself, you stepped in, the entrance closing behind you and shrouding your vision in darkness. Your world spun as you stumbled on uneven sandy ground, a pair of arms grabbing you and steadying you.

''What in the everloving-'' You were interrupted as someone struck a match, a wrinkled face briefly smiling in the flickering light before using it to light something else. A candle.

Multiple candles were lit as well, the rest of the accompanying people that the light showed within the remarkably small space all smiling at you. With Tess standing foremost, behind the cake.

''Go on, make a wish and blow 'em out.'' She softly whispered, the candlelight illuminating her face.

You shut your eyes, thinking of your wish before opening them and taking in a deep breath, blowing out all of the candles except one. Try as you may, the candle refused to be easily blown out.

Even when you thought you had it, the candle reignited itself. While this occurred a few of the others in the space were groaning and one continuously shook their head, muttering something along the lines of: "Not again, Reuben...''

Eventually, someone decided to give you mercy, in the form of Tess' grandfather, who swiped the candle from the cake and buried it in the sand, finally extinguishing the rotten thing.

Another pushed down a surfboard to allow light into the space. Then, you had to cut the cake and shared it with the others. You attempted sneaking out while everyone was busy talking, only to be pulled back in by the arm.

''We forgot! Happy birthday!'' The group cheered, breaking into song.

Tess raised her plate with cake, motioning for you to do the same as the others sang you happy birthday. With a grin, she pretended to make a toast with the plates of cake.

''Happy birthday, to you.'' Tess grinned, finishing her piece of cake as you did the same, placing her plate down to hug you. Eagerly, you hugged her back, smiling as well.

You were happy.

Friends-to-lovers dynamic, of course.

Sometimes you go over to the other's house, mainly to hang out and build pillow forts, (you were superior in building them, while Tess was superior in destroying them with hardly any effort).

Though when you were finished (and if anyone else was home, at your place either your mother or father and at Tess' grandfather) there would sometimes be something waiting on the counter.

Usually, these consisted of gifts, other times they were just little messages with notes about how long you had until said parent would return.

Now that you were free to explore Roria, Tess brought you along with her, as she usually did.

Favourite place?

The Path of Truth was a place only accessible by using Surf, which you frequently utilised. It also happened to be one of Tess' favourites due to the many Dragon-Type Pokémon that frequented it.

Despite all the skeletons half-buried in the path's dirt, Tess always had at least a small smile while walking through.

It got weird quickly though when one time someone else entered, not anticipating two people in the path's cave.

Long story short, both of you made your escape.

It was then decided that you and Tess would travel all over Roria (while skipping Anthian City for obvious reasons), allowing your Pokémon to sightsee along with you.

Your bond with Tess became stronger during this time, training your Pokémon with hers.

You also happened to know some secret areas that Tess didn't, especially Glistening Grotto and Grove of Dreams, the latter where you made a wish that came true.

That bond... had turned into something more once you realised it.

This was another secret you decided to keep until you were ready.

Home used to be about your house but with Tess, it had become something more, something you didn't want to let go of so easily.

You were admittedly a bit afraid of what her response would be should you tell her.

So you decided to keep quiet about it and enjoy your company with Tess.

Though her confession came rather early when the two of you went through Cragonos Mines and were nearly crushed by a rock falling.

Albeit surprised, you accepted it and became her partner...

You steal each other's food if it happens to be the favourite. Think of two seagulls locked in eternal battle.

Tess likes giving you small gifts she has found from her adventures with you. Some of which you've already seen but expressed interest in especially.

Hugs are more frequent than kisses, if anything, Tess likes being able to hug you whenever, though if you are known to be uncomfortable with people hugging you out of the blue she will ask you prior to the hug should it happen.

Her Salamence is a bit grumpy that you two are together, but doesn't elaborate even when Tess asks them to.

Your parents got into the habit of making your food for when Tess is around as a way to ease you into things.

And when you were old enough on your birthday (or sometime after that), Tess bent down on one knee, holding a small box...

...to reveal a Ring Pop inside!

She was laughing when the real ring was brought forward.
