Nina: What’s the most irritating thing our parents have said to us?
Nina: “That’s too much cologne.”
Lorna: “That’s how girls end up dead.”
Peter: “Don’t talk black to me.”
David: “It’s inappropriate because she’s your teacher.”
Peter: How do you even talk black? End words with izzle?
Wanda: It’s talk “back”, you idiot.
Peter: … Oh.

Genosha house of m family moments.
Peter: I guess you can say you have a real lust for power
Erik: Wait are you talking to me or Charles?
Peter: Yes
Oh yes, Peter is really taking after Charles in his answers of non-answers.
But, Peter is correct that Erik is lustful for power that which tends to be Charles and his telepathy; which a major kink of his.
Tumblr media
Major turn on for Erik. Charles looking like a cinnamon roll, but in reality can kill you in a heartbeat his morals and good nature allowed it; do not push Charles fucking Xavier to his limit, he snap and you will be sorry for it. Like threatening Erik or Peter or anyone else he considers family.
Protective parental! Cherik is always a treat to watch or read.

What are some of your cherik as parents headcanons?
Hello @cinimionroll ! Thank you so much for this as! :D
Here are some of the head canons I have for cherik as parents:
- Charles would be the strict one- KIDS, YOU SHOULD EAT YOUR GREENS, DRINK YOUR MILK AND BE NICE TO ONE AND OTHER. Erik would be totally chill- He’d make the kids pancakes on demand, sneak in a few chocolates into their diet, and replace milk with soda cans now and then.
-Charles would opt to take the kids out to museums or parks- It’s educative and recreational at once. Erik would definitely think that such trips are boring and take the kids out to theme parks and permit them to go on roller coaster rides much to the fury of Charles. Charles: “What were you thinking taking them on roller coaster rides, Erik? Do you know how dangerous they could be?” Erik: “Relax, Charles. It’s not like I can’t control them.” Charles: “They’re FIVE for crying out loud!”
- Charles would not have it if the children missed out on their homework or lag behind on their studies. Erik on the other hand would be: meh...
When it comes to the teens and the older mutants of the house:
-Charles wouldn’t allow them to drink (because they’re underage, dammit!) or drive without a learner’s license and all. Erik distracts Charles (winks winks nudge nudge) when the kids want to go out drinking or raid the liquor cabinet. He’ll even let the teens take out his car or his motorbike for a spin now and then.
-Charles doesn't approve of the kids swearing. Erik would swear with them (much to Charles' despair)
-Charles would be the one the kids would go to for guidance and moral support. Erik would be the one the kids go to when they’ve fucked something up and they’re too scared to tell Charles about it. Erik would then go and fix whatever the kids screwed up. They’d all tell Charles... eventually.
But Erik would be strict with them when it comes to their trainings and exercises. He'd be a strict master on the grounds and push them till they'd fall. But he'd also be there to pick them up and help them start again.
Erik would call them brats or idiots or cockroaches and what not. He'd pretend that he doesn't care about them. ('I don't care about those brats, Charles! They're your kids, not mine', he'd say) But he isn't fooling Charles, or anyone for that matter, because everyone knows how he feels about the kids. There's one thing that's common to both Charles and Erik when it concerns to the kids: that both are supremely overprotective of them.
The effect it has on Charles deserves a separate fic altogether. Lol. Charles feels a strong tug in his heart whenever he sees Erik being tender with little Scott or helping a seven-year old Kitty arrange a tea party for her teddy bear friends. Or when he sees Erik bringing Hank out of his shell and coaxing him to ride the bike or teaching Alex to control his anger. Charles cannot lie that it's hot af and that he's turned on the thought of Erik being a hot dad.
Erik would be the cool dad. He really would. There’s an instance in the comics where the kids hear some noises (somewhere... I can’t remember where) and think that the place is haunted. Magneto takes one look at the place and knows that it’s not. Instead of assuring the kids, he eggs them on to believing the haunted theory by telling them that he, too, heard the noises (something on those lines. I read it a looooooong time ago...) He takes a good laugh out of it before revealing the truth.
To sum it up, Erik's a total teddy bear when it comes to the kids!! :D
P.S: I may or may not have written a fic about the difference in their parenting styles somewhere... here (https://archiveofourown.org/works/15178172)
Again... thank you so much for the as, because I can talk about these two for ages! :D

Hello, @gerec !! 😬
Hey I’ve been trying to find this cherik fic that seems to have slipped through my fingers on ao3.
It’s where Charles and Erik are fuck buddies, and Erik offhandedly invites Charles to lunch/dinner with his family (Mom, dad, ex-wife Magda and twins). Charles realises that Erik knows a lot about him, and later Erik confesses that he had wanted to date Charles right from the beginning, but since Charles had asked for casual, he’d agreed to it.
They set up a real date in the end. Ring a bell? Or do you know who the author is?
Yes darling I know exactly what you're talking about! It's this delightful fic here:
Food, Family, and Friends with Benefits by endingthemes
“Everyone,” Edie says, voice bursting with pride. “Erik’s here, and he’s brought his friend.” She takes Charles’ arm and pulls him forward, presenting him like a shiny object. “This is Charles.”
Charles manages a weak wave and an even weaker, “Hello.”
(In which Charles gets dragged along to his fuck buddy's parent's house to celebrate a Jewish holiday, and things get weird.)

October Almost-Drabbles 10/22: Costume
Pairing: Cherik
Word Count: 621
Additional tags: trick or treating, family fluff, pietro is an absolute adhd terror but we love him
Side note: I cut out like 300+ words of mostly boring exposition, so this is much more streamlined than it was at first. Other than the descriptor calling Wanda a witch (because she’s dressed like one, obvs), everyone else’s outfits are un-described. Mostly. So feel free to use your own imaginations. And yes, everybody did dress up. Even Erik.
———
The little family made quite a picture, walking down the brightly lit sidewalk.
“Careful with that, Wanda.” Charles called out. The little witch was swinging her candy bucket enthusiastically, losing bits and pieces out of it. At his urging, she calmed her motions, though there was still a lot of swinging involved. As per usual, she was significantly calmer than her twin. Pietro was running loops around all of them. Up the street, down the street, into walkways, occasionally into yards (“Mind the grass!” Erik told him, multiple times). He couldn’t get far, thankfully - the metal bits subtly sewn into his costume made sure of that - but he tested the boundary at every chance he could.
“Alright back there?” Erik asked. He couldn’t see over the top of the dozing child on his back, but he knew Lorna was bringing up the rear of their little caravan.
“I'm good, Dad.” She was eating candy. He could practically hear the caramel as she answered. And more importantly, she was happy. All four of the children were. Even David, who smiled even in his tired state.
“So what do you think, guys? Trick-or-treating? Fun, huh?” Charles smiled, ruffling Pietro’s hair as he ran by. He didn’t really need to ask; he could feel their joy as bright as a beacon. But he always tried to encourage verbal communication. Especially in public, though they were mostly alone on that particular sidewalk.
There was a chorus of affirmations.
“Can Auntie Raven come with us next time?” Wanda asked. Charles made a show of considering this, though truth be told he‘d had a similar thought. It would be interesting, he reasoned, to bring along someone who didn’t need a preprepared outfit. Who could potentially change their appearance from house to house.
“Why don’t we ask her when we get home?” He gave Wanda a nod. She grinned and nodded back before slipping back behind them to walk with her sister. Aside from the red and white blur that was Pietro running around them, and their older boy being carried by Erik, the two parents were somewhat alone. Charles bumped their shoulders together gently.
So. We all survived.
That remains to be seen, Erik projected back, eyeing their running and giggling youngest son. The little terror. I’m only surprised he hasn’t run every single one of us ragged yet.
At that moment, the boy ran a little further out than either of them were comfortable with. Almost offhandedly, Erik reached out with his power, grabbed the metal threads in his costume, and pulled him back over. Pietro paused just long enough to say “sorry, dad,” before taking off again. He’d probably have long since spilled his candy everywhere had Charles not commandeered his bucket fairly early in the night.
And you’re already planning for next year. Erik shook his head, though he was also smiling. Doing his own planning, no doubt.
Maybe a little. But, Charles was quick to add, we’ve still got at least an hour or two of candy sorting ahead of us. “And it’s way past certain individuals’ bed time as it is.”
“Not tired!” Pietro said, zooming by.
David grumbled sleepily.
“I understand your point, however. Once the candy has been sorted, and the costumes put away, then we can do what all parents do after October 31st.”
“And that is?”
“To never think of Halloween again for the next eleven months or so.”
At that, Erik laughed. He shifted David a little, adjusting his position. “I’m gonna hold you to that, I hope you know. Also not looking forward to the mountains of candy to sift through.”
“Liar. You’ll be drowning in butterscotch for weeks. What a burden.”
“Quiet, you.”

Cherik fics - That ONE line - 48
「I feel like I should keep an index of the one line in each Cherik fics that impresses me to no end, making want to bookmark it immediately.」
Our House, In The Middle Of Our Street by Clocks
Summary: Charles is a social worker who fosters troubled kids, and one day he meets Erik, an ex-convict, who reluctantly agrees to stay for only a while, but ends up staying for good and helping Charles to raise the kids. Awkward parenting ensues.
The quote:
But his impression of Charles, which has not changed much from the very first time he sat in Charles's crammed office and watched the man place a cup of coffee in front of him, is that Charles Xavier is someone who would go above and beyond for anyone, due to an unnatural large deposit of empathy God had, for some reason, left in his moral bank account.
+1
Erik still has his helmet on, but the visor does nothing to hide his brilliant smile as he hugs the children to him, all clinging to him like oversized koalas.

WIP Tag Game
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! Then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
I was tagged by both @meilas and @achillmango, who are such lovely people! I can only assume they must not have seen the last time I was tagged for this and had 48 WIPs to list. And that was 2021, so I've got so many more now!
In the interest of brevity, I have decided to just go through my POTO WIP document, where I've put snippets and ideas that are not long enough to be their own document yet. Enjoy!

Pride Month Ship 3: Cherik
Cherik
Fandom: X-Men/Marvel
Ch- Charles Xavier (Professor X)
Erik- Erik Lehnserr (Magneto)
From the Marvel fandom, the two men in this ship stand at opposing sides of a political/social and violent issue. Both wanting the same thing, but wanting it in different ways which leads to irreparable differences. Charles Xavier is a mutant with an omega level telepathic ability that formed when he was a young child. Born to a wealthy English family in Westchester, at a young age Charles would witness the death of his biological father. Now, depending on the canon source it happened in one of two ways. An accident, or an act of suicide where he shot himself in his home office while Charles was present. Charles’s mother would later marry her deceased husband’s science partner, Kurt Marko who had a son of his own named Cain. After developing his abilities Charles would come to find out Kurt was only with his mother for the money, and post being wed Kurt would quickly become cruel and neglectfully causing pain to the boys and driving Charles’s mother to alcoholism. Cain would prove to be incredibly abusive to Charles, taking out the frustration of his father on the younger boy. In the canon where Charles’s father died via accident, Charles’s mother dies not long after being wed to Kurt, and a fight between Cain and Charles leads to Kurt being killed, though before he died he admitted to the death of Charles’s father being partially his fault. In the movie verse we don’t know most of the origin other than that Kurt, his father, and his mother are dead, and Cain lives as he would go on to become the juggernaut. Charles would go on to graduate from Oxford with a PHD in genetics. Erik Lehnserr is a mutant with the power to manipulate metal in all its forms. Born in Germany to Jewish parents in 1932, Erik was a Holocaust victim who spent his formative years in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Distraught at being pried away from his mother, his powers manifested and were taken notice of by the camps leader. After killing his mother in front of him, Shaw tortures and experiments Erik until the camp was liberated in 1945. Having become a mutant supremacist, believing mutants were the next stage in evolution and would never be accepted by the human race, he acted in the shadows hunting down former Nazis, specifically Shaw who he calls “his creator” in referencing himself to Frankenstein’s monster.
The Comics: In the comics Charles and Erik meet at a clinic for Holocaust victims, though there Erik would go by the name Magnus (he has a thousand names, but I’m just going to call him Erik). The two bond over their time at the clinic but keep their powers hidden until they must fight the Nazi Strucker. Erik tries to kill him, his experience as a victim of the holocaust making him have no belief in redemption or confidence in peoples reaction to mutants, but Charles stops him as he has an aversion to violence not needed at the present moment, and would later attest that he has faith in the human race. Seeing that Charles’s beliefs contradict his own, Erik would leave, later becoming Magneto and starting The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (which is a badass name) as Charles started the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters and later the X-Men. A lot of time has passed since then, so these are just some highlights of Charles and Erik in the comics through the years. They fight, Charles defends a reformed Magneto in court which is disrupted by Strucker’s children who try to kill Erik leading to Charles being severely injured. While dying he asks Erik to lead the X-Men. Xavier at one time leaves his school to Storm and Cyclops to bury the “dead” Magneto. I also want to quickly talk House of M, where Erik takes his daughter Wanda to Charles in the hopes that his old friend can help her, and when Wanda rewrites reality Charles is forgotten but the X-Men come to find that Erik had erected a private memorial to his friend in his private garden. Dawn of X may be the most ship worthy, so here is a brief description of that. Charles having become disenlightened with his former goal of cohabitation between mutants and humans has created a sovereign land called Krakoa built for mutants and mutants only. Magneto joins him. After a series of unnecessarily complicated events, together Charles and Erik declare that Krakoa, previously a private land, was now open to all mutants no matter what side there on as a place of sanctuary which they govern together. And then Charles is killed. But we don’t talk about that part.
The Movies: In the movies Charles and Erik meet in a more dramatic fashion. In “Days of Future Past” we see Charles leap into the water to save Erik who is attempting to pull back a submarine containing Shaw, Emma Frost, and Azazel in the hopes to kill Shaw. However, seeing that this act will lead Erik to drown, Charles pulls Erik up out of the water and gets him to stop fighting by entering his mind and calming him. It is once he is saved that Charles assures him that he is not the only mutant, he is not alone. Through First Class we see the relationship of Charles and Erik develop. A mutually beneficial relationship turns to a friendship so easy it might have well had been there since birth, and these characters develop a connection that neither of them had ever had before. They gain an intellectual equal, never tiring of talking and debating with each other, all over a game of chess. We also see Charles help teach Erik how to really take his power into his hands and control it. Turning his effective but brash style into something more precise and direct. Sadly, as it always does, their differences in ideologies make them part, and part in one of the bloodiest ways. When Moira tries to stop Erik from releasing the nukes and starting WWIII by shooting him, he carelessly deflects the bullet, and ends up sending it into Charles’s spine, taking his legs. From there they part. Erik starts the Brotherhood, Charles opens the Xavier school, and life goes on. In the movies Charles and Erik then don’t meet till ten years later when Wolverine gets sent back in time with the goal of stopping the Sentinels from being created. When arriving at the Xavier mansion Logan sees not the bustling school he expected, but a rusty old building housing just a young Beast and a drunk powerless Charles who is stuck in a grief-stricken rut after the loss of his legs, raven, his students, and yes, Erik. Logan requests Charles’s help in saving Raven, requiring them to liberate Erik from prison where he has been for most of the time post Cuba for “killing the president.” After much angst and burning questions, it looks like there may be some hope for Cherik, until that is Erik tries to kill Raven. That’s how it goes for most of the movies. They must join sides, Erik diverges in the name of his own agenda, and we’d leave the theater with the two men separate. Until Dark Phoenix, this was how it worked. In that movie we got the possibility of a happy end in the form of an open ending. After years of Charles offering Erik a home and companionship, Erik offers Charles a home and companionship. And we ended this era of X-Men movies with a final game of chess between old friends.
With a story as Shakespearean as that, why don’t people ship them? First and foremost, some people just like them as friends. The main parts of Cherik’s relationship exists whether you imagine them as romantic or strictly platonic, so people who don’t ship out of canon or just haven’t thought about them together may not see the point in it. But on the more depressing side is the fact that the only way for them to be together is for one of them to fundamentally change. For Charles to give up on humanity or for Erik to regain faith in it. For one to leave the organization, family really, that they’ve founded. And though Erik has been redeemed in the comics before, typically it doesn’t last long until he’s pushed over the edge again. They are the real star-crossed lovers.
It doesn’t matter whether we’re talking movies or comics, young or old, the main points of the Cherik ship stays the same. These are two men who care about each other more then they’ve ever cared about anyone else, they are each others oldest friend and closest companion even though they are both surrounded by disciples, and yet they are kept apart by their ideologies. Shipping Cherik means going through periods of elation, despair, anger, confusion, and betrayal, often all at the same time, but in the end, it’s always Charles and Erik no matter how you look at it. X-Men isn’t X-Men until we see one of these men win a game of chess.

cherik au but they have a newborn baby or like a really really small baby and its them getting into an argument and being passive aggressive using the baby in it </3
bonus if its like a first class au where nothing bad happened
and so now they have: raven, hank, alex, sean, angel (but only sometimes idk) who are all teens and then there's scot n jean who are like 9 and then ororo who's like 6
and ofc the newborn
but yeah the term "mommy and daddy are fighting" becomes a LOT more common lately
bonus points if they're holding the baby and being passive aggressive and only talking to the baby and addressing the other through baby names like "daddy, papa" or when's its A REALLY BAD argument "your father"
and their other kids spectate, and the teens are constantly keeping track of who wins the arguments (its charles most of the time, spoiler)
also at some point the others will just occasionally use dad to refer to cherik and sometimes to their face. its not always, with the older especially but it happens
it was embarrassing at first for them but now its natural to get their attention at times
also during the middle of...adult time without kids the baby will start crying and charles can deffo feel it with his telepathy so they literally cannot get a moment to themselves
and even during cuddles its just "i did it last time, its ur turn"
erik sings to the baby and frequently talks to the baby in german and polish
ALSO
erik is the type of parent that holds full conversations with an infant but like, it's only becuase he thinks its extremely funny
charles is exasperated
so charles and erik are in the study and charles is holding the baby and the younger kids are chilling with them too
and ororo n the others come up to charles and are like "we want to see the baby" like the lil gremlins they are
and so charles is like "ok, but u have to be gentle" and the three of them peak over and make the cutest lil faces
and they just melt
and erik and chalres are just like omg they're all so cute
when the baby starts displaying powers though, oh boy, it’s like jack jack n the babysitter from the incredibles but oh, so much worse
bonus points if erik amd charles are finally OUT OF THE HOUSE amd the older kids and even the younger kids were like "look guys, u haven't been on a date in forever, just one night it'll be fine" AND SO THEYRE APPREHENSIVE but eventually agree AND THATS THE NIGHT THAT THE POWERS ARE DISCOVERED
they're in the middle of a fancy dinner or something cute and they get a call that's just SCREAMING and u can kinda hear hank in the background begging them to come home immediately
the restaurant staff is very concerned
amd azazel keeps scaring the shit out of them when he just pops up and is like "i want to see the baby 💯"
also emma holding the baby that she love so so much just really far away from her bc the baby just drooled all over her new white EXPENSIVE outfit
the amount of resentment she holds for that almost reaches the amount of love for the baby
its a VERY fine fine line

i love your blog so much!! you've given me months worth of stuff to read. this is probably ultra specific but do you have any friends with benefits to lovers cherik fics?
Thanks for the ask anon, I do have some great friends with benefits to lovers fics. I hope you enjoy!
Friends with benefits to lovers
Simple and Uncomplicated – Pookaseraph
Sukmmary:Erik and Charles had been fuck buddies for some, but when Charles is in an accident he figured their relationship would be over. Erik's visit to his bedside in the hospital changes his assumptions even as he has trouble believing Erik is sincere.
We Could Be That – swoopswoop
Summary: They'd been fucking for months - it had never been anything more than that - so why was Charles' unexplained absence bothering him so much?
Three wheels of cheese and a Great White – ximeria
Summary: Charles and Erik were friends with benefits in college.
They went their separate ways and 18 years later, they run into each other in New York.
The sex was never a problem back in college - and sex was all it had been. But now Erik is a divorced father and Charles has admitted to himself he needs more than just sex in a relationship. So in their usual round-about way they try to navigate becoming friends after so many years. The whole quest is aided by Raven, Edie, Wanda and Pietro (and a large number of shark jokes).
(Wise Men Say) Only Fools Rush In – wildelybroken
Summary: After reading a fic where Erik and Charles are super sluts, meet at what is presumably Raven and Emma's engagement party, and end up sleeping together, I made the following comment and just inspired myself.
"They start casually texting each other throughout the day, maybe while they’re bored or frustrated at work, and start out meeting up and sleeping together semi-frequently. And eventually they accidentally start dating without noticing it at first, not until Raven and Emma get them alone and are like “wtf you two super sluts are actually dating??” And at first they deny, but then they’re both like “holy shit, we are!” And they meet back at one of their places and they don’t have to say anything, they just look at each other and come together immediately, kissing passionately and ~making love~. In the middle of it they realise that’s what they’ve been doing for a long time now and they confess their love to each other and they live happily ever after because they deserve all the good in the world."
Enemies With Benefits – bettysofia
Summary: Casual sex with your sworn enemy gets tricky once feelings get involved.
Food, Family, and Friends with Benefits – endingthemes
Summary: “Everyone,” Edie says, voice bursting with pride.
Preheat to 350 (just for you remix) - ikeracity
Summary: Charles realizes he's in love with Erik. But there's one tiny little problem: he just broke up with Erik.
Some Such Place (The Big Screen Classics remix) - pocky_slash
Summary: Erik's spent the last eighteen months having lengthy socio-political conversations and casual sex with Charles Xavier after seeing Monday matinees at a dingy little independent movie theatre in the Village. That doesn't mean they're friends. Or that Erik should have any say in what Charles is going to do with his future.
(At least, that's what Erik keeps telling himself.)
Society’s Anxiety - phalangine
Summary: The day Charles Xavier's soulmate counter reaches zero is also the day he meets Erik Lehnsherr. It never occurs to him that that might mean something.
Accidentally Welcome to the Rest of Your Lives - kianspo
Summary: Non-powered college AU. Erik and Charles have nothing in common until they end up having sex at someone's party. They don't have much in common after that, either, but find each other a hard habit to quit.

posting my Cherik Parenting Manifesto here because I already shared it with @funkylittlebidiot and now you all have to witness my insanity
(for reference this is specifically relating to my fic A Treatise on Evolution and Extinction where they have two biological kids of their own, and Wanda and Pietro are Charles’s stepkids/adopted kids, but all of the decisions I’ve made about this are based on what I consider canon character traits and/or backstory)
I think the way Charles and Erik have raised their kids is highly informed by their own parents and life circumstances. Because Erik had very good, loving parents but horrible life circumstances, and his parents were taken from him at a young age. Whereas Charles had wonderful life circumstances, growing up very wealthy and safe and with tons of opportunities, but his parents were terrible (this is partly informed by comic canon, but basically Charles's bio dad died when he was young possibly by suicide (I've seen this in some fics and don't know if it's based on canon), his mother was at the very least emotionally neglectful, and his stepfather was physically abusive). And that relates to literally EVERY DECISION they make about their kids. Because Erik is extremely protective about big things, like protecting them from enemies and oppression, but is more willing to allow them independence in everyday life because he knows they can handle it. Whereas Charles is highly overprotective and involved because he wants them to feel as loved and protected as he wanted to be as a child.
So Erik will like, physically fight Vision because he hates him personally, but he won't do something like Charles did and straight up tell them they can't be in a relationship because he trusts Wanda to make that choice for herself (again, if you haven’t read my fic, this is based on something that happens there). Whereas Charles will see her making a "bad" decision and be like "no, you are my child, and it is my duty to protect you in every facet of life, even if you are an adult" and try to outright forbid it (which obviously blows up in his face).
ALSO I think that there are a lot of added factors that make Charles even MORE protective than he already naturally is - he KNOWS his kids are Jewish and mutants (plus in my fic which takes place mainly in the 80s, Pietro is gay, and the others are also lgbt+, even if they dating members of the opposite gender), and he knows his older two kids are Romani, and he knows that they are potentially political targets as well, and that basically adds up to make him neurotically protective and worrisome. If Charles could wrap his kids up in bubble wrap and lock them in the house forever, he would, and he would feel a little bit guilty, but say "it's for their own good" and keep doing it.
And Erik tends to defer to Charles when it comes to parenting like that unless he REALLY disagrees with it, because Erik doubts his own parenting capabilities and really all of his "being a person" capabilities because he still thinks peace was never an option for him and sees himself as a weapon, whereas he views Charles as inherently good and loving and thus an inherently good parent. And Charles is a very LOVING parent, but that does not mean he always makes good CHOICES regarding his kids. Which is why Erik will almost never keep Charles from making obviously bad decisions regarding the kids. For example in ATEE, he fought for Pietro and Wanda to be allowed to be Avengers even though he personally hates the Avengers, because he knows that they are capable of doing so and that they were of an age where it was time for them to start living their own lives and be independent and he could tell that Charles was being overprotective in that instance. But when it comes to stuff like Vision or being overprotective of Jean, he has no metric for that. He doesn't know what's normal and just thinks that since Charles is the bestest ever, he knows best and follows his lead in those decisions.

AU-gust 2023
6. Domestic Pairing(s): Cherik, Xavierine, Cherigan(?) Warnings: N/A
This is a little snippet from my Charles Xavier's Baby verse, where Charles' secondary mutation and poor life choices nets him a set of twins courtesy of Erik and Logan.
-----
By the time Charles and the girls are discharged, Raven has moved out and Erik and Logan have moved into the apartment. He feels bad about his sister leaving to accommodate his newly extended family, but also relieved that everything was sorted without any drama. They even have enough room to fit everyone somewhat comfortably, with Erik taking Raven’s old room and Logan decamped in the study-now-nursery, and the babies in their bassinets in Charles’ bedroom.
Even with three people it’s far from easy, especially the first few days back as they adjust to a new normal. Charles is still recuperating from his C-section and being confined to bed rest (not by the doctors but by Logan and Erik), while the other two do most of the feeding and changing. Thankfully, his secondary mutation hasn’t given him the ability to produce milk, so it’s doesn’t fall to Charles alone to ensure that the twins are fed every three hours.
Of the two newborns, Lorna is the more challenging one, difficult to settle and too easy to disturb. Laura by contrast sleeps for long stretches, and they have to actually wake her to give her the bottle. Because of that, Laura ends up mostly sleeping soundly by Charles’ bed, while Logan and Erik alternate shifts with Lorna in their arms, pacing the apartment to calm the fussy baby. None of the adults really get all that much sleep, though they figure out a system by the third day, when Charles insists on taking a shift, giving both Logan and Erik the chance to sleep longer than an hour or two at a time.
It helps too that Raven and Edie are both so eager to help, running errands for more supplies (Raven) and ensuring that the fridge is crammed full of ready to eat meals (Edie). They’re especially grateful to have Edie’s calming presence, providing information and giving advice to three bachelors who know next to nothing about babies. And she is over the moon to finally have grandchildren to love, doting on them equally and without reservation, uncaring that only one of the girls is biologically related to her.
Charles counts his blessings every day, that he’s surrounded by people who love the girls as much as he does, which is so much more than he ever thought possible.
Of course, it also means there are more people around to gang up on him, including his best friend Moira, who is kind enough to make house calls so they don’t have to make the trek to her office for checkups. She is happy with the girls’ weight gain and their health in general, and tell them all to keep up the good work. She is less supportive of Charles holing up in the apartment and not venturing outside, and suggests that he go out with Raven for lunch and a breath of fresh air. It’s more order than recommendation, and Charles finds himself bundled out the door by his co-parents with instructions not to return for at least two hours.
(He absolutely does NOT spend those two hours quietly obsessing about the babies, alternately relieved to be ‘Charles’ and not ‘new Dad to twins’ for a little while, and freaking out over the fact that this is the first time he he’s been away from Lorna and Laura since they were born.)
------
“They’re not answering my texts, Raven! Why aren’t they answering my texts!”
“They’ve probably got their hands full taking care of the babies! Now put your phone down and finish your food!”
------
Rationally, he knows the girls are perfectly fine; that they couldn’t be in better hands than they are with Erik and Logan. But he still worries all the rest of the way home, until he opens the door to the apartment and finds all four of them sprawled in the living room fast asleep. Quietly, he takes out his phone to snap a picture – Logan is sleeping on the couch with Lorna on his chest, while Laura is cuddled against a conked-out Erik on the leather recliner – and sends it to Raven, who replies immediately with:
Told you they were fine. Idiot.
He smiles, heart swelling at the perfect picture, realizing how much he loves them all…the girls of course, plus Erik. And Logan.
Erik and Logan.
“Dammit,” he mutters under his breath, and resolutely puts that particular problem away to deal with another day.

Another Apocalypse AU with Dadneto, Stepdad! Charles, Cherik, and metallokinetic! Pietro/Horsemen! Pietro
So En Sabah Nur woke earlier than in the 1980s after Young Charles spoke to old Charles in DOFP. Sabah Nur heard the cries of the despair and death of mutants from the bad future timeline. So dude woke up and was very angry at humanity and is determined not to let that fate befall on his children. Sabah Nur sees Erik's broadcast on killing the president; knows by just the way Erik acts that he's a maverick and isn't going to to follow his orders without question and isn't going to be loyal to him. Which is BIG deal to him. But Erik has impressive gifts he wants him and the mutant who peered into the future.
BUT...En Sabah Nur isn't doing so hot after 5000+ in suspended animation. Yes, current body has a healing factor and it was the only thing keeping him alive. But even Sabah Nur cannot escape the aging process. However, he does have alien tech device which reverse engineered into a sarcophagus which heals and amplifies his powers, increases lifespan. There are MASSIVE drawbacks like addiction, amplifies delusional of grander and invulnerability. (Its basically the sarcophagus from Stargate: Sg-1; I'm a massive fan of the show; this just fits so well with Sabah Nur. I couldn't help myself!). Sabah Nur may have a god complex, but he isn't stupid.
Sabah Nur knows its a waste of time to transfer his consciousness into two bodies in a short duration, it will kill him and its a waste of material. So, his plan his to create a new body for himself with the DNA of both Erik and Charles and his current DNA and genetic memory to make the transference easier on his new body. Sabah Nur has alien tech after all which includes cloning tech. But there are technical difficulties when transferring this tech onto the human species, so there is no escalated growth rate at the start, there is some later.
Charles and Hank coming back to the mansion still injured, but Charles feels like someone has been in his house without his permission and finds one of his needles is gone. Charles and Hank push it aside really want to move and clean up the place.
There are reports of a serial killer of what looks like mummifying the victims, but they are just being drained of their lifeforce. It's a temporary measure for Sabah Nur to regain his strength, but it isn't going to replace getting a new body. Erik gets attacked by Sabah Nur stealing some his blood.
So Charles, Erik, Raven, and Hank come together to defeat En Sabah Nur which they do and think that's the last they heard of him and he must be dead because they never found a body. Along with his horsemen and acolytes, who almost all die, only one survives, Psylocke. Who absolutely despise the new order of things that Mystique created and she runs off vowing revenge. The Horsemen and the acolytes were trying to protect a science lab. This confuses Erik and everyone else as to why they would die protecting this place; until they hear a baby crying.
Though Erik and Charles may not have wanted their DNA to be used like this. They take the baby in and call him: Pietro and raise him as their own. Not wanting him to know his true origins and to have a normal life.
However, Sabah Nur put a program into Pietro, where at a certain age Pietro have thoughts and feels and an insatiable desire to go and find Sabah Nur to learn more about himself. Just be drawn to him. Pietro would be overwhelmed by genetic memories and be ready to accept his destiny to destroy the world.
Will Erik and Charles save their son in time? Will Pietro forgive his parents for lying to him or will Sabah Nur claim Pietro's body as his own?

My media this week (26 Sep-2 Oct 2021)
Tumblr media
📚 STUFF I READ 📚
🙂 👂 Your Cruelly, Elvira (Cassandra Petersen, author & narrator) - basically a tell-all memoir, mostly remembrance and not a ton of introspection but fairly entertaining. I certainly didn’t realize quite how wild CP’s life BEFORE Elvira was; becoming Elvira was when she SETTLED DOWN. Respect that she was a self-admitted ‘starfucker’ in her wild 20s.
😍 Flowers in our Eyes series (cydonic) - 93K, Stucky, aka the house-flipper AU - reread of this lovely, fluffy story where Bucky flips houses and moves in next door to single-dad Steve. [main story is 88K, short sexy standalone epilogue is 5K)
🙂 Bookwyrm (KL Noone) - short story; the town witch protector goes to check out the big bad dragon who’s decided to settle there
😍 a soldier (who carries a mighty sword) (ghostinthelibrary) - 93K, The Witcher; Geralt/Eskel/Jaskier arranged marriage AU - love to see a polycule instead of a ‘love triangle’ + some nice political chicanery
🙂 Madison Square Murders (Momento Mori #1) (C.S. Poe) - still love a Poe mystery & characters and I’ll definitely be returning to Larkin & Doyle. I appreciate that she tried to mitigate having cop protags by having them be cold case & artist, respectively. Don’t love that she again used the ‘one MC’s relationship is bad and ending and this new love will make him realize it’ thing again. But both of those things didn’t outweigh all the rest of the stuff that I absolutely did greatly enjoy about this.
🙂 👂 A Psalm for the Wild-Built (Monk & Robot #1) (Becky Chambers, author; Emmett Grosland, narrator) - novella - no plot, just vibes and tea and some existential thinking on the meaning of existence.
😍 The Librarian!Bitty Fics series (marswithghosts) - 156K, Check Please! (107 main fic, zimbits; 48K, parse/omc) - I stayed up too late reading the main fic. It's solid characterizations & a good plot with just enough believable angst and then, of course, a happy ending. Mad respect to this author because I normally am not big on kent parson but here I was, totally invested in this iteration's emotional growth!
😍 Our House, In The Middle Of Our Street (Clocks) - 51K, Cherik - no powers AU - "Charles is a social worker who fosters troubled kids, and one day he meets Erik, an ex-convict, who reluctantly agrees to stay for only a while, but ends up staying for good and helping Charles to raise the kids. Awkward parenting ensues."
💖 +220K of shorter fic so shorter work shout out 💖
Love Runs Wild (DevilDoll) - Teen Wolf: Sterek, 9K - reread of one of the best TW fics out there, in the legendary Neckz ‘n Throats ‘verse.
Clover, and Other Beloved Weeds (chaya) - The Witcher: Geraskier, 26K & Moss on River Stones (chaya) - The Witcher: Geraskier, 9K - a collection of vignettes and a final chapter in the lovely & gentle Flora series

Fathers Day POTO Fics
In honor of father’s day, here’s a collection of fics about Erik parenting and/or being parented!
The Nanny by Mertens
The single father Erik AU we’ve all been waiting for, where Christine is hired as the nanny for Gustave by his strange masked father. Christine does get along with Gustave and he seems to have a good relationship with his father, but there’s something about Erik that just seems off... E/C, currently updating!
Second Chances by SloaneDestler
A pregnant Christine seeks shelter from her teacher, and for the sake of her unborn child they decide to marry. Definitely just because of that and no other reason. E/C, lots of mutual pining, just completed!
Little Boy Lost by DivineVarod
Christine confronts Erik over his refusal to play with his son. Featuring an Erik who really does love his son but has no idea how to interact with children, something I wish we saw more of. Married E/C, oneshot.
Tiny Angel by FaunaProductions
Cherik is a dad and that’s the fic! There’s only one chapter but I’m already in love (and Gerard, as expected, is a bad grandfather). There’s actually no Christine in this one, but maybe she could show up in the future?
It’s In Your Soul by BozBozBoz
A complete LND rewrite with a Gustave who resembles his father in appearance, a Christine who faked her death to leave the marriage with Raoul and is now a travelling singer, and Erik who is running Phantasma and doing his best to not kidnap somebody but still try and support his family. E/C.
Something Immortal by MulticoloredRosePetals
Kay based E/C, where Erik while constructing the opera house takes in a pregnant and ill Christine. It’s a kind of unique case where their relationship isn’t built off of music, just care and compassion, but it’s something they can discover later.
The Boy by madamefaust
This list would not be complete without at least ONE fic by madamefaust, the leading authority in Cherik father related angst. Have fun with this collection of stories about Gerard being a slightly less terrible father than usual, but things are still very sad.
The Source of the Blame by aldonza
Giovanni learns about some of the past difficulties that Erik has faced. Namely, the pedophilia, and he is not okay with his adopted son suffering like this. Lots of hurt comfort, and in this AU things would have never gone wrong with Lucinda because it’s a catalyst for Giovanni to step up to the plate as a father.
For Educational Purposes Only by Xix Crane
Post LND. Gustave wants to go see the dinosaurs at the museum, but Erik never leaves Phantasma. At least, he never leaves during the day... Pure family fluff, an AU where Christine lives but she’s mainly in the background because the focus is on father-son BONDING.
Wandering Son by sarahandmarquis
Post poto, Erik returns to Italy and reconciles with Giovanni. I sadly have seen very little of this and I ADORE it, they’re both crying and apologizing and trying to figure out how to be a family again.
