I wonder what would have happened if Erik didn’t move the bullet in Cuba. Would Moira have missed him, or would it have hit? Would he have ended up injured, or would he have just died? Would Charles have had the same general arc leading up to/in DOFP regardless (struggling with depression and addiction), or would the school have kept running in that decade?

Also, would JFK still happen? If Erik wasn’t there to try to stop the assassination, he wouldn’t have gone to jail, and Peter wouldn’t have been recruited to get him out. Then Peter wouldn’t have the Gifted Youngsters card, and he wouldn’t have gone to Charles’ school just in time to save everyone from the explosion. Also, Nina (his half-sister in Apocalypse) probably wouldn’t exist either.

Strange how one split-second stress decision can ripple like that.

Me an actual Polish person: If you are going to make Magneto make babies in Poland, Sony, at least you could follow the fucking rules of surname making, because “Gurzsky” is NOT a properly spelled surname in Polish. The proper spelling would be “Górski” and in relation to Nina, because she is a woman, the surname would be changed into “Górska” to follow the polish grammatical rules.

BTW if you are interested “góra” means “mountain” and “górski” is an adjective to describe something being of the mountain (modern) [like for example “droga górska” = mountainous road / mountain’s road], being very high (old polish) or someone who is from the mountains (old polish). As the surname it could literally be translated as “someone from the mountains” but someone who has that surname doesn’t necessarily have to live in the mountains as it’s just a very popular polish surname that literally anybody could have.

Also, fun fact, Nina is not technically properly polish name either, BUT it could be in a shortened form if Nina’s actual name was “Janina” or “Antonina”. Janina is a name that I usually associate with older women, because this is one of the polish names that just sounds old (other offenders are Barbara and Halina). The second one (Antonina) is funny because this is literally feminine version of Antoni (Anthony) so technically Nina could be also called Tony / Toni :D

[If you doubted my ability to insert Tony Stark into every post, then now you have a proof that I can and most probably will, lol.]

So her name would be Janina Górska, in short “Nina”.

Other short versions of the name “Janina” are:

The Photo

When Nina asked Peter why he decided to frame that photo and put it on his nightstand, Peter smiled.

Thinking of how to respond, he began to remember all the things that had happened for Wanda, Lorna and him so that they could get that picture.

A torrential rain on the way to the woods, a flat tire, Peter's desperation and his insistence that he could get them to their destination in a matter of seconds; Wanda's scolding insisting that they should spend quality time together and Lorna's desire to kill Wanda because she wouldn't let her use her powers to set up the tent.

And despite the cold, having to sleep on the floor because Lorna accidentally broke the tents, Wanda complaining about the mosquitoes, and both of them getting mad at Peter for eating all the cookies, the only feeling he had whenever he thought of that photo was pure joy.

It was a pity that neither Pietro nor Nina had been able to accompany them, but Wanda had insisted that Peter and Lorna spend time together to stop being angry with each other, and that she would personally see to it.

Well, that's what Erik had told them when they asked why no one else had come with them.

So with all that in mind, Peter prepared to answer Nina's question.

"I just know that I'm thankful that Lorna was mad at me for eating the last piece of pizza."

As the daughter of Magenta, Nina's hero name would have been Fuchsia, obviously (Maaaan, poor Quicksilver is the odd one out even in his own family, the only one without a reddish color's name. He can't even count of his twin in this case!).

Also works, because she can talk to animals and "Fuchs" (which rhymes with "books", btw) means "fox".

And if she turned out to be a villain, there could be a pun about how she "fooks ya up".
