Ive been noticing an increase amount of Dreamtwt refugees, and let me preface with saying: Welcome!!! Genuinely, we lovingly welcome you to this happy lil community.

That being said, Tumblr is confusing, between the big etiquette book and the interface that hasn’t changed since 2008 there is a lot to learn. So this is my little attempt to a welcome guide tailored to our lil dream community! Feel free to add your own recommendations and stuff.

Tumblr is a Blogging site, a goog ol relic from ye olden days, your ‘profile’ is your blog, and you can put anything you like on there! However, please do change your avatar and background, we have a massive bot issue here and we tend to auto block someone with a standard avatar.

Please spell out words! Don’t censor triggering words at it can fuck with people’s filter settings, by censoring these words you put people in more risk.  

Now for some technical advice: Most tumblrina’s turn on ‘hide likes and follower count’ . Any blog can have 4 people following it or 4000, we like to keep it mysterious.

Also turn of ‘best content first’- once again, the algorithm is not to be trusted.

Furthermore, you can really personalize your Tumblr experience and please do! Under ‘account’ you can find many options to filter the content you see, make use of it, for your mental health sake.

Setting Up TS4 Gameplay

Revamp Sim Worlds

BRAVE THOSE LOADING SCREENS and leave your residential lot! (I promise it's worth it)

NEW LOTS - Each of my worlds have been renovated with lots I handpicked from the gallery - too much work? I recommend using a savefile! Here are some of my personal faves @ratboysims 1, @down-in-simsland 2, @folkling 3 & @sweetbeagaming 4.

RESIDENTIAL RENTAL - these lots help make the world feel more dense and lived in, plus condensing the local households to 1-2 lots leaves room for more non-residential lots to explore with your sims.

WORK AND SCHOOL - I recommend placing offices, schools, and daycare lots. These combined with a few mods (semi-active custom careers and Zerbu's go to school mod 2) and clubs are something I really enjoy.

Set Up Clubs

I really like @sojutrait's tutorial on how to use clubs to enhance your gameplay and is a MUST HAVE in my humble opinion. I usually have a family chore club, work clubs, neighborhood clubs, extended family clubs, etc... and it's so nice to click a button suddenly there are sims there making my game more lively.

To have more than 3 clubs per sim, I use this mod maintained by @kingzaceofsims.

I also use custom club activities so sims (MOSTLY) behave how I want them to. @srslysims has tutorial on how to make your own.

To be able to have club gatherings in vacation worlds I use this mod. It was helpful with sending my pixel kids to camp.

Set Up the Calendar

@aliennooboo made this AMAZING tutorial on setting up your sims calendar that I just adore. I find this helps me remember to do things with my sims and helps change up their day to day life.

Playing

ROTATIONAL GAMEPLAY - I find this keeps me engaged and prevents boredom. It keeps things fresh and allows me to explore different stories. Here is a great resource to get started!

GAMEPLAY MODS - I find adding various mods keeps my gameplay fresh and interesting. I recommend these creators (1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) in particular.

Screenies

POSES - As a gameplay person, I try to use poses sparingly. It disrupts the game for me but I find sometimes I can't convey what I want to without them, so I try to only use a few. This is what works for me, please do what works for you. Shout out to all the storytellers blogs, though, that keep me fed.

RESHADE or PSD files can add some fun color and effects to screenies. ONLY edit as much as you want to. I felt a lot of pressure to get better at this and I am finally finding the balance of how much and what kind of editing I actually like to do. I have collected reshades/gshades and resources here.

House Keeping

Keep back ups of your trayfiles, screenshots, households, lots, etc 'cause it's sims, things break and go wrong.

Keep your CC and mods organized otherwise fixing your game is a hug pain.

well, it finally happened, a big cc creator told me not to put their cc in my sim dumps... it's a creator i couldn't find tou for at the time (and still can't now, just tried for research purposes) so i went with common sense rules like "don't include cc that's in early access" and "don't paywall other ppl's cc" which i obviously would never do. i did change the dl to appease them, but...

i'm feeling torn between wanting to be considerate/understanding and absolute irritation at what this community has become, especially in light of the absurd influx of brand new cc creators who aren't part of the community paywalling their very first posts. i'm thinking about the text post that was going around recently that said something like "imagine if the simblr community was actually collaborative and we shared creations openly" instead of this for-profit entity it's become.

this creator's been nothing but polite so i don't want to seem like i'm after them but they're also making so much money monthly off cc that you'd think it'd be ok to use that cc. bc literally what else is a sim dump. i use a bunch of cc and it's included in the download for convenience, then people put the cc in their own game and everything is exactly the same from there-- your name on the file, your name on the cas preview.

except, of course, the downloader didn't visit your page in the first place, so you missed out on another potential patron/click (never mind the fact that the creators i use for sim dumps are intentionally bigger so people are more likely to already have the cc/know who the creator is, so you probably didn't miss out anyway).

the other thing is that anyone who won't let their cc be used in sim dumps must understand that if everyone else followed that rule, sharing sims with each other would pretty quickly become way too tedious and that entire way of engaging with the community would fall apart. how can you justify a rule that would unquestionably harm the community if every creator followed it? it's both unsustainable and ungenerous.

the bottom line is we need to reconsider how we approach creations made for this game. if you're a creator and your goal is not for your creation to be used, shared, and enjoyed, why are you even making cc? (& money is not a good answer 😀)

I am so fucking angry about Dream stans (mostly on Twitter, though they are here) being like “can you BELIEVE people are upset that a minor 😱😱😱 was messaging with an ADULT!! LMAOO wait until they get into the real world and find out that 17 year olds can be friends with 25 year olds. Next they’re gonna call Tommy messaging Schlatt dangerous!!”

It was not that she was 17 and Dream was 20. The age gap was not the issue.

It was that Dream had a position of power over her and abused it. 

He knew he had this position from the very start, as she was a fan of his and their first messages with each other was her telling him how much his content had helped her through depression.

This means that he knew full well that her wellbeing was somewhat dependant on his content. She says that his videos gave her one more reason to stay alive.

He confirmed that the Instagram messages are real.

Thusly, the Snapchat messages that haven’t been deleted are, without a doubt, real, because he tells her the name of his private Snapchat in the Instagram messages. They cannot be ignored.

It is incredibly inappropriate for Dream to message her on Snapchat knowing that she was 17 and a fan at the time and that messages can easily be erased. That on its own would be uncomfortable, but he was talking to her in a flirtatious manner.

This is not normal, friendly behavior. Especially with a fan who is underage and has said that she is emotionally invested in his content.

This is predatory. Several girls have come forward. This proves that Dream not only has more than once, but likely will again, use his platform and power to engage in sexual relationships with underage girls.

He cannot have a platform anymore.

I'm sitting here thinking about a pretty age-old debate on simblr... the race of sims that have black hairstyles, particularly in cc preview pics.

I know it's been talked about repeatedly, but when it comes to cc previews for paid cc I think it's especially worth talking about. Some people say, well, the creator only uses a few different sim models each time, it's not like they're intending to be racist or something. It's just for convenience, because they're busy, they're hustling, they gotta pay their bills. They always use the same sim, so it's fine. But like... isn't that gross to y'all? Someone making money off of black hairstyles, but they can't even be assed to go in cas for 15 mins to make a black sim? Isn't that a prime example of appropriation of black culture for profit? Like the human aspect of us as a person is gone, it's just another part of us being advertised and sold. Black hair makes money, black hair cc is limited, it will sell and nothing else matters. It feels like black hairstyles are some kind of trend with them too, because none of these creators made them before it was possible to profit off of them... back then it was "too hard" just like now it's apparently "too hard" to make a different preview sim.

Also, it's not lost of me that when a creator does make a black sim for their previews, they're as light skinned and white looking as possible. Whether just by skintone, very eurocentric features (like they just gave a white sim slightly darker skin), vitiligo to make most of the skin light, or claiming the sim has albinism. And while some of this I'm sure is just finding that aesthetic more "pretty", I also think this has to do with potential sales. I'm going to be honest... besides engagement by black simblr itself, I've noticed a lot of posts I have get less engagement/reblogs if the sim in question has darker skin and darker hair. It's much more likely to pick up in the mainstream cc finds blogs/YouTube videos etc, if the content is for white sims or the sim has lighter skin and light hair. I don't care about engagement and simply make whatever sim I want to make, and since I do have that variety, it's how I noticed this strange trend. And with the volume of content paywall creators make, I think they noticed this too. Posts with lighter skinned sims get better engagement, and thus, make more money.

Have you ever noticed, even in paywalled cc packs, there will usually be a sort of token effect? One white sim, one ethnically ambiguous sim, one black sim. This is great if you're showing off something that will vary for different skintones- makeup and skin details, for example- but why is it always like this? And why is the variety usually only in previews for cc packs instead of solo items (like hairs)? It feels like it's all to sell better, to appeal to different demographics and say, hey, I didn't forget poc exist! Please pay for my content! It feels disgenuine, and since creators like this rarely engage with the community anymore besides paid content, it's hard to figure out whether they feel this way or not.

Personally, I don't care much what people do in their own games- I might look at them weird for a sec, but I move on, cos it's their issue not mine. But like many other aspects to this community, when it crosses over into paid content, it sparks my interest. It feels like everything, everything, is about maximizing profit now. And for the people that focus on that, that's their prerogative and all, I can't exactly stop them, but. It's just something I observed and wouldn't mind discussing with y'all.

(Note: I don't apply the "profiting off black culture" part to black creators, obviously. Also no hate to any creators that do this stuff. Be reasonable adults, please. I'm just discussing in a constructive criticism type of way.)

One might expect a happily married person to do all kinds of things, but topmost among them is paying to find the contact information of an ex-girlfriend and sending said ex-girlfriend multiple unanswered messages, repeatedly and through a variety of means, over the course of many years in the hopes of deceiving her into heady conversations about the details of your long-ended relationship. Yes indeed, when the Bad Advisor thinks of "normal stuff a person who's very happy in their marriage would do," her mind immediately goes to "pretending to ask innocuous questions about old friends in the hope that a woman I dated 30 years ago believes I am solely and only asking her innocent questions about old friends, when in fact I am explicitly and admittedly not."

Women are famously unable to clock the intentions of men, who are very clever, extremely stealthy, and never creepy or dangerous to the extent that they would unsettle people from whom they have demanded interaction and who have time and time again ignored them. Probably this woman received your incredibly blasé letters and voicemail and thought: "Gosh, it seems like this dude who deuced out on me three decades ago is trying to rope me into responding to him multiple times despite my obvious disinclination to engage only and exclusively on the subject of our old friends, what a boring conversation, I shan't respond unless he sends me a lengthy bit of written correspondence detailing his many thoughts and feelings about how our romance ended, I simply can't imagine having a conversation with him unless I know for absolute certain he wants to rehash what happened between us, which is the only possible way I could fathom entertaining such a reconnection, one which I would never have reason to pursue otherwise, as I am so desperately in love with him and have been lo these 30 years but could not in good conscience find a way to broach the subject unless he sends me just one more letter finally making his bonerful intentions plain, that sly dog."

Might you have neglected to include a return address on the previous correspondence about which you were extremely desperate, but in a very casual way, to receive a response? Does your ex-girlfriend own the only cellular telephone on earth that does not log the return-call number of people who leave voicemails? Mayhap she simply does not know how to contact you after multiple attempts over half a decade! These are highly probable reasons she has not sought you out! Vastly more likely than the fact that she sees entirely the fuck through your pretenses and wants nothing to do with you whatsoever.

If you wish to receive a concrete answer about the status of your relationships, your best hope is to CC your spouse on any future correspondence. I think you can expect a prompt response.

Anon, thats exactly what's going to happen. Unless William and Catherine succumb to public and press hysteria or she genuinely wants to go and is ready to go, what you're describing is what will happen.

Ideally, it would be a fairly controlled way for her to be seen in public: The press would be at a considerable distance, she wouldn't have to interact with anyone other than family members, and she wouldn't be recorded sitting inside the chapel. But it all depends on how she feels and what her doctor recommends because she would have to wear heels and walk on a slightly inclined path, and we don't know if that would be advisable.

Another ideal way for her to return might be to do so privately, with us finding out through the CC, and perhaps they could release a photo of her at one of those meetings so that when she has her first public engagement, the hysteria won't be as out of control. Although the world will scrutinize her body from top to bottom to find something different about her not matter what.

One thing that is certain is that the day that woman returns to public life, the pandemonium on social media, in particular, will be unbearable. And speculation won't stop, but at least she will return to public life in her own time and in the way she considers best.

I wasn't planning on talking anymore but I wanted to send you something to hopefully counter all of the doubters that were bumming you out. 😊 People react very emotionally right away when something like this happens, and I think they should at least take time to process everything before getting into any discussions. This isn't even our first round of shenanigans this year. I've been a Taekooker for a long time and the outV/outJK hate campaign has been around at least as long so this is not my first or second rodeo. They almost always follow the same pattern. The Taennope situation is the one outlier and while a lot of people were panicking immediately after the Paris video, most eventually came back around because the weirdness of the whole thing is obvious to the point media play started being the only explanation that makes sense. Features that are almost always present are a combo of real pics/videos and edited or fake photos/videos that get debunked, a lot get debunked very quickly. What they try to pass of as "proof" usually hides the identities somehow, no recognizable or only partially visible faces, blurring, facing away from the camera, or obstructed view. There's always coordination between multiple accounts that start posting everything together, they often end up contradicting each other or overplay their hand by embellishing too much and adding something that is very obviously untrue. One of the most interesting things to me about the most recent shenanigans is the similarities in the "proof" to JK's "scandal" in 2019. What we got first was a pictures of CC camera footage that showed JK backhugging a woman. This actually showed visible and identifiable faces. It was definitely him. I engaged a lot more on Twitter at the time and was in a group chat with a few big accounts and that day was a crazy one, because the accounts that started the rumor tagged us personally. I think they thought we'd freak out and spread it, but we all kept it in the chat and didn't make any public posts. Soon enough the rumor was officially denied, and the woman involved posted a letter saying they were just friends and she apologized for upsetting anyone (which she shouldn't have had to do). Maybe it's because I saw that go down in real time from a front row seat that the recent smear campaign doesn't get to me. I find the whole thing questionable in the same way every incident has been. Except this time Jungkook actually addressed it almost immediately and while talking directly to us. I've seen some imply he said "I don't have a girlfriend" (three times apparently "I don't have any girlfriend") as some sort of half-truth skirting around him having a gf when the video was shot but not now, but I don't think he would say that if he thought there was a risk anything was going to come up that would make it look like he tried to lie to his own fans. If that was a risk I think he would have just stayed quiet about it, and he certainly would have been advised to stay quiet by the company. I also think him expressing relief at having said that is very interesting. How long has he wanted to say something like that. I trust Jungkook. I put my trust in him over a group of people spreading these things, whether they are all real/some real/all fake, for one purpose: to hurt him by turning his fans against him. None of this is reason enough for me to doubt everything I've seen in Taekook. Earlier you said "I have a pretty clear idea in my head on how everything fits together", I feel that. I debunk a lot of Taekook for myself, but there's still a lot that is undeniable for me and I have everything lined up with receipts when it comes to them. The foundation of my belief just doesn't shake that easily. Thank you for posting pictures of them recently, because I think it's very easy for some to forget why they were here in the first place when there is so much confusion.

I think queer headcanons for the characters of the ccs are fine when it is clear you are not talking about the actual irl person. Maybe not on Twitter but here. Tumblr doesn't have many of the ccs here and people usually try to be respectful about it and it's good to see someone like you in your favorite character.

I do understand your reasoning tho, this isn't an argument or anything. Just wanted to add my two cents.

the way i see it, the personas that the ccs put on in the life series and hermitcraft etc are not consistently separate enough from the irl ccs in order to warrant treating them as fictional characters. of course this is case-specific— ren probably considers some of the characters he’s played as more separate from himself, compared to someone like etho who doesnt stray much from his true personality. and to me, its just not practical to take it on a case by case basis— we’re not going to ask every cc a list of questions about their content just to know if its ok to ship them and whatnot, so i tend to take a very “better safe than sorry” attitude and just not engage with that fictional treatment at all

i’ve seen this described as a twitter opinion before and while i do think that probably has foundations in reality, i think separating between platforms like that isn’t helpful. i barely use twitter and haven’t for probably a year or so (aside from my private account) so i engage way more with the tumblr fandom than the twitter one, and further, i see a lot of people on twitter who do treat them as separate characters. idk that statement just irks me

and i’m glad that people are generally trying to be respectful— that’s good! and i understand that i, a random guy, cannot enforce my own views onto other people. but i do think this is a good conversation to have that too often i see people brushing off in favor of their own fan desires

if you want to see people like yourself in the minecraft content you watch (as many do, including myself) you should find other queer creators to watch, and/or find qualities about the hermits (and co) that you can relate to

hello! i started this challenge as more of a personal use (a sort of guideline if you will) in order to get me engaged with the horse ranch gameplay and to avoid using cheats or getting bored. then i figured that making a detailed & structured challenge would be even better, so here it is!

your city-dweller sim suddenly is made aware that their grandparent, who they have never met, has inherited them their estate at chestnut ridge, a vast 64x64 lot with an abandoned ranch and lots of family history to discover at town.

the objective of this challenge is to start from the bottom at chestnut ridge and become the most influential family in town by the end of three generations.

make money with the ranch's resources, win over the judgemental seniors, and gradually renovate the estate until it's good as new.

you can see this as sort of a mini legacy challenge, honestly FURC (fixer upper ranch challenge) is a mixture of everything...

at all times avoid using money, skill or relationship cheats (or any kind of cheat for that matter). you will only get 50,000 simoleons at the start of generation 1 as part of your sim's inheritance / or use freerealestate to get your sim's grandparent's estate for free, and set 20,000 simoleons. this will be your renovations budget.

your sim cannot travel to any other world, they must complete their activities and affairs inside chestnut ridge.

follow the intended order of the generations. there's just three of them, and their storylines are linear!

add a mayor, a sheriff, an influential family and some small-ranch townies in your world. this will enrich your gameplay and your sim's relationships! (read: drama)

start with an actual abandoned ranch lot. with a bunch of junk and stuff. i recommend grandma's abandoned ranch by ralucii and Abandoned Ranch by enikobalogh in the gallery!

feel free to use any cc or mods that you want to improve your experience, as long as they don't give you an unfair advantage over other players.

don't get a job for your sim, either full time or half time. however, you may get money through other traditional rags-to-riches methods, such as gardening, frog breeding, fishing, selling other collectibles, etc.

you grew up an only child and raised by a single, widowed mother, and although you didn't mind much your father's absence, the conditions of his death have always been a mystery to you - more so with your mother refusing to talk about the subject. what you do know about him, though, is that he loved music, and you do too. you look after his old guitar with your life, and even decided to skip college and go straight into following your dream of becoming a known musical artist at san myshuno. however, you don't find success straight away and start to lose motivation rather quickly. that's when a secretive lawyer knocks at your studio apartment's door to give you the opportunity of a lifetime: to start again in a small town, far away from your previous failure. you immediately travel to chestnut ridge and get right to it - you have a ranch to renovate and a lot to learn about your father's side of the family. no easy task, surely!

aspiration: big happy family traits: rancher, animal enthusiast, clumsy initial budget: 20k ~ 50k (read general rules)

master the following skills: guitar, horse riding, and handiness.

complete your aspiration.

go to the nightclub or the bar at least once a week.

start making money by rescuing horses, training them until they increase their market price, and selling them to other ranchers.

adopt two small goats, raise them and sell their milk. (optional: use @brazenlotus' cheesemaking skill mod to sell cheese!)

renovate at least 5 rooms in the estate OR two floors + build a small barn for one or two horses.

have a kid with another townie who has a small ranch too (optional: marry them and have other children if you'd like).

PLOT POINT! the mayor seems to be having a problem with you entering the community. they think that you're too naive, as per usual with sims who hail from the city, and that you don't know what you're doing. you know, typical condescending seniors. however, they back down a little when you tell them your last name... surely that must mean something? just what kind of person was your grandparent?

Maybe this is trying to be hopeful (but tbh the way these guys have shown their true colours is rather then ) but I wouldn’t be surprised if the ccs who are “distancing then self” try and go back to the dteam in a few months. Not to be that person but a lot of their audience was dteam followers. And while yes their have gained their own fans, they have also lost a huge amount of casual viewers. Because while they did make their own confer, a lot of it also revolved around being friends with the dteam. What I mean by that is punz Would gain viewership when him and sap would play valo but sap wasn’t streaming (or he was on kick) Hannah would often bring up the dream and tell stories of them when they would hang out.

While yes on twitter they may look good and have people “support” them for it the main platform that actually matter could and will most definitely take a dive.

I was absolutely fine with still watching and engaging in content Hannah would be making ( because she was genuinely one of my favourite ccs) when she said she just didn’t feel comfortable around them anymore because fair enough she knows them and she may not trust them now. But seeing her stance as of her recent Reddit posts and comments, I don’t want to watch her. Everyone makes mistakes, it going to happen. So to scrutinise and isolate someone for making an honest mistake because you can’t “forgive mistakes” is a horrible outlook on life and helps no one. Especially when punz has all that against him (I’m not too caught up on him) and she hasn’t made one post about him. And what he has against him is 100% worse then this but twitter isn’t at is throat so it’s not important to these ccs

I genuinely feel like she was just hurt finding out what George did( she’s 100% valid for that) saw twitters reaction and panicked like the rest of them. Made her statement way to early or without gaining the proper details first and now people are starting to realise how out of proportion this how thing has gone, she’s trying to save her self from looking like a shitty person but just ended up doing the opposite

I think what we have all learned from this is people only care about their public image. These guys have been “friends” for a very long time, and it wouldn’t surprise if they still talk to dteam out side of content. They just wanna save their own asses and look good for twitter to gain brownie points, while still actively engaging with awful people behind the scenes or even in content (the whole beau situation)

and you’re right. the clout they’re getting right now isn’t from support for caiti, it’s from the hatred for dteam. they are fostering interactions from antis who will never give them the attention the way dt’s community has given them — that i can say for certain. once this blows over i don’t think they will see a significant rise in viewership

regarding hannah, i felt awful for her at first. because in my eyes she was a good friend who was blindsided. and then she didn’t even make it about supporting caiti, she made it about ousting the dream team, which let’s face it, is performative as fuck. it could easily be passed off as trying to take a stand for women in the gaming community — which in itself is a very good cause — but it seems pretty transparent to me that she either was trying to save face, or has the most narrow mindset when it comes to growth ever, or both. she’s not gonna have many friends to rely on if she continues with that mindset. the friends who are honest with you and tell you when you fuck up but stick around to see you grow are the ones that last. best case scenario she’s just hurt and making panicked decision after panicked decision, but THEN i saw her lurking in the dwt2 reddit so idk about that anymore 😭

and punz is an asshole who threw dream under the bus mere hours after he was begging people to talk to him if they have any issues with him, just so he can deflect and appease to the twitter mob’s anger and make a diversion from his own allegations which were much worse. i’m glad it backfired on him because that was embarrassing as fuck.

content creation and the streaming industry has made these cc’s spineless, shifted their priorities to be more self centered and selfish, and it’s come to the point where they will burn bridges to save their career and get their 5 minutes of clout. they pick and choose who to support and who to drop depending on the reaction they will get. they pretend to be heroes while being hypocrites off camera. they need humbling, and they need interactions with people whose lives don’t revolve around the internet.

A sickly snap as the recoil pad of a rifle came into contact with the face of Major Sabrina Swayer, the man laughed as she let out a groan. Her eyes could only make out the sun shining in through the flaps of the small hut, it had been hours of this, getting hit & smacked by guns but it was nowhere as bad as it was going to get. The man retreated, engaging in a hushed conversation in a foreign tongue that echoed in aggression. Sabrina bound to a wooden chair, hunched forward in a desperate attempt to comprehend the situation. Beside her, Jack Napier, a fellow soldier at a lower rank, sat confined in a similar predicament.

Sabrina's heart raced, her mind calculating every possible move. She yearned to reach out to Jack, to assure herself of his safety, but instinct and training cautioned against drawing attention to him. Any interference might exacerbate their plight, subjecting Jack to heightened danger.

Listening intently to the captors' foreign dialogue, Sabrina cautiously worked on the rope that bound her hands together. The knot was crude, a rudimentary lariat loop, barely a match for her well-honed skills acquired through rigorous military training. Despite the urgency, she moved with deliberate precision, suppressing the urgency that gnawed at her, aware that any hasty action might trigger unwanted attention.

Focusing intently, Sabrina's fingers deftly navigated the bindings, methodically manipulating the coarse fibers, their edges chafing against her skin. The room's stifling air seemed to amplify the seconds ticking by, heightening the tension that coiled within her. Her senses sharpened, taking in every detail—the musty scent of mildew that lingered in the air, the creaking protest of the dilapidated chair beneath her, and the coarse texture of the rope as it gradually yielded to her careful manipulation. Jack's presence beside her, though silent, served as a reassurance amid the impending danger. Yet, Sabrina remained focused on her task, each practiced movement bringing her closer to freedom.

The foreign exchange among their captors escalated, voices rising in urgency. Sensing an opportune moment, Sabrina's persistence paid off as the last strand of the rope relented under her skillful hands. With a controlled breath, she subtly eased her hands free, concealing the newfound freedom beneath the cover of her body. The two men seemed to sense something outside and rushed without a second glance at Sabrina, who urgently went to her feet, untying them. "Napier." She harshly whispered as she stood. Sabrina's eyes were bloodshot, she was bleeding but the sources were too many to count. Adrenaline was the only thing she was running off, as bullets lodged in her shoulder seemed to be a reminder of the six hours she spent not doing a damn but taking the assault. Sabrina went behind the chair Jack sat, and though he was unresponsive, she untied him. His body slumped forward, and Sabrina was quick as she picked his body up. No pulse, as far as she could feel. She looked at his face, deep scars and blood painted him. Setting him down gently, Sabrina went and untied the fifteen other soldiers that decorated the room. Some alive, some dead… Some in between. The live soldiers were quick to help, and Sabrina gave them simple orders.

"Take the bodies, alive or dead, and drag them out. Wait for my signal, stay." Sabrina warned, before peeking her head out of the hut. It was a camp, not of military, just of men from a village most likely. The sun blinded her, and the air stunk. Sabrina's gear had been stripped off, leaving her weaponless. A man passed by, seemingly not noticing her, Sabrina pounced. Grabbing his neck, a sick crack was enough before she grabbed the handgun he held. A shot was fired from beside her, nearly hitting her, and she quickly shot back. The man fell, and his face exploded as more men came out to see the commotion.

Running towards her, she was outnumbered. Sabrina shot, fought, anything she could. Swiping the feet from under a few men, she shot them before their bodies touched the ground. Amid this hostile terrain, Sabrina held steadfast to her purpose, her mission etched in her determined gaze. Her task beckoned a singular objective that superseded the language barrier and the sweltering heat. Amidst the encroaching danger, her resolve remained unshaken, her focus unwavering on the goal ahead.

"Let's go," Sabrina exhaled, her voice strained as she stepped back into the shelter of the hut. The soldiers hurriedly gathered the wounded and deceased, their urgency a stark contrast to the tension that lingered in the air.

With a determined but steady hand, Sabrina approached Jack's motionless form once again, a rush of emotions flooding her at the sight. Her heart clenched in silent apprehension as she checked for signs of life, seeking solace in the faint flicker of hope. Feeling a faint pulse, relief washed over her, a fragile smile of gratitude playing on her lips. Gathering her resolve, she gently cradled Jack, his weight heavy against her, yet her determination to protect him outweighed the physical strain. With a firm grip and a sense of purpose, she hoisted him over her good shoulder.

Despite the inner turmoil raging around in her, Sabrina's focus remained fixed on the task at hand, her instincts driving her to protect her lower comrades at all costs. The weight of Jack's body served as a grim reminder. The line of soldiers filing out of the makeshift camp with their peers on their shoulders or backs was a sight to see. In war, it's a man-eats-man world and Sabrina had made sure each man in that fucking camp got bitten.

Major Swayer hadn't intended to be a part of this squad. As a green beret, her place was miles away, but life's twists and turns had led her here, amidst a group of low-level soldiers. The irony wasn't lost on her – how fate had a way of steering one's course unexpectedly. Separated by miles from her designated unit and unaccompanied by her trusted K9 companion, Zion—a rarity in itself—Sabrina found herself like this, bloodied and carrying her injured Jack.

The encounter with Jack in the quiet of the night had been innocuous, a mere check-in to ensure his well-being. Yet, unbeknownst to her, her presence hadn't gone unnoticed. Her misplaced visit had unwittingly drawn unwanted attention, setting off a chain of events she couldn't have foreseen. As she grappled with the consequences of her unintended actions, a storm of emotions raged within her. Regret gnawed at her, a bitter taste of remorse that mingled with a sense of responsibility for the situation that had unfolded. The weight of her mistake pressed heavily upon her shoulders, a burden she carried with a sense of deep regret.

Amidst the turmoil of emotions, there was a resolute determination etched in her expression. Sabrina's vow to herself echoed with unwavering resolve; she would never allow such a misstep again. The gravity of the moment embedded itself within her, a lesson learned in the harshest of circumstances—one she swore never to forget.

Recovery Sephiroth is one of my favorite concepts. Because by NO means is it a straightforward or linear path to recovery, and it would take so much time and effort. But I find the idea of someone (usually the avalanche group in my mind because while not exactly realistic, I'm a sucker for them and seph) looking at this wreck of a man(?) consumed by his own trauma, demons, and alien fuckery and going. "I want to help him. I want to put in the energy to give him a chance."

Of course it requires some effort on Sephs part, but with some separation from him and Jenova and recovery from that obviously traumatic experience he could start to claw his way out. He feels so lonely and listless, so he may as well grab onto this sliver of comfort and hope.

All this to say: Seph, you may not be human, okay. But you still need to go get groceries. Alright?

Sephiroth merging with Jenova essentially resulted in him becoming completely selfish and attentive to his own needs, when he could have actually engaged in some legitimate self-care if he'd had the right resources and support.

Him losing weight in CC leads me to believe that Sephiroth really didn't take care of himself that much when in the middle of a crisis. And he's spent so much of his life dedicated to Shinra that the only time he really seems to put his foot down is concerning Genesis and Angeal. But even then, they're not worried about how this impacts Sephiroth--either to dodgy writing or the degradation affecting them. No one actually seems to care about Sephiroth. He doesn't MAKE his feelings known, but it's basically one big ticking time bomb the entire story, with no one noticing until it's too late.

Anyway, Sephiroth should have had someone help him take care of his own needs. It would have softened things a bit imo. Especially after pulling him away from Jenova.

There you were proving him right, as you scurry like a mad lad for scraps of evidence and new breakthroughs, stopping at nothing and those who try to get in your way will be eliminated.

🧡 How you'd jump at the opportunity to get your hands deep in dirt, utilise your surrounding to get what you want, how unafraid you are... He finds it admirable. Adorable. Just an absolute opportunistic dork who lights up at the sight of possibilities.

🧡 How long will he develop the feels for you because of your intense passion and continuous attempts to perfect your serum, though the road was bumpy and the trials were difficult, you grow ever so persistent in every failure? Slow burn. A romance with Jon, regardless of who ever is the reader, it's always a slow burn.

"You don't have to sugarcoat your words, Doctor, I'm no Nygma." You looked up from your journal to playfully narrow your eyes at him, before you scribbled away. "The recent specimen was... Uncooperative."

Jonathan chuckles in response, eyeing your bloodstained clothing. "I see that."

The Scarecrow's gaze falls upon your countenance, admiration softly shading his eyes to see the passion burning within you despite the countless failures you face.

What you do was no easy feat, well he could say the same for his experiments, but of course you have your own field of science. You needed to acquire bodies, fresh ones. In need to discover which mixture would work, the dosage. And based on your collection of journals where you list your trials and errors, he'd say you have gone quite a journey through attempting to defy death. No matter how many times you were stuck between a rock and a hard place, you manage to slither away just in time.

"Jonathan?" He snaps from his reverie, the sound of his name on your lips making his face flare with the flames of fluster. "Something wrong?"

"N-No... Not at all."

You were doubtful that he was telling the truth, but you wouldn't pry. Mentally shrugging, you continue with your work.

"This one's dead. Heart attack just about now." He steps aside to offer you fresh meat on the slab.

"Thank you, Doctor." You smiled over your shoulder before equipping yourself with a syringe filled with the glowing green liquid. "Administering tem cc's to the patient..." You whisper to yourself, sticking the needle in the patient's neck before pressing the plunger.

Gently tugging on the syringe, your analytic gaze remain on the man on the slab, keeping active for any small movements. A minute has passed and you weren't even sure if you've even taken a moment to breathe yet. What could have possibly gone wrong? The body is fresh, Jonathan guaranteed it, heck, he didn't need to, you saw it with your own eyes how his fear toxin worked so effortlessly! You were considering whether you should add another dosage, but those were one of the last--!

"Boo!"

You jumped from where you stood when you felt Jonathan suddenly jerks behind you, roughly placing his hand on your shoulder. He began to laugh to see you snap from your reverie and by the time you gathered your bearings, you turn to glare at him as he too collected his bearings.

"You should have seen your face--" the humour in his eyes drains, as he pales at the sight of something behind you.

Not wanting to take a wild guess, you turn to your back once again to see your experiment working. However, before you can observe the specimen further, he thrashes and swipes at you. Jonathan pulls you back and holds a protective hand in front of you, whilst he readies his scythe.

You watch as the test subject thrash and rip it's vocal cords out with his excessive yelling, his nails digging and scraping into his scalp and pulling his hair out. Once he lays his sight on you once again, it lunges forward with his bloodied hands aiming to claw your throat out when Jonathan came with a swing of his scythe, lodging the blade into the undead's neck.

Jonathan wasn't aware of you glaring at him for subjecting your experiment through this pain, when all you needed was to make an observation out of your first success in a while. The reanimated man stumbles back with the scythe still stuck on his neck, he pulls it and tosses it away. Having been attracted to Jonathan after the Doctor's attack, the reanimated grabs Jonathan by his shoulders and attempts to take a bite out of him. The Scarecrow can only struggle in the undead's grip, evading the attacks bestowed upon him whilst you watch.

I mean... You could just watch and observe just what the reanimated creature you created in motion, the man wasn't this string when he was... Well, alive. Your serum must have tapped into boosting his strength, the only downside would that be of their lack of consciousness... Or are they still conscious? Was it attacking blindly? Does the fear toxin still have an--

"Y/N!" Jonathan yells out of desperation.

... or you could save your friend.

Jonathan was at the brink of death, his eyes wide at the fact that the monster had finally adapted deem it effective to grab Jonathan by his wrist. But before your magnum opus could latch his teeth against Jonathan's neck, you came with a warning in the form of a buzz of an electric saw. Red blossoms on his chest, some of it splattering all over Jonathan's shirt and the corpse collapsed, revealing you standing with an electric saw, hands soaked with red.

"What was taking you so long?" Jonathan pants, resisting the urge to grab you by the neck.

"I was..." You watch him collapse on his bottom, panting heavily beside the once again corpse. "Making some observations."

"Observations my ass! I could've died!"

"But you didn't, did you?" He narrows his gaze at you when you offered him your red soaked hand. Nevertheless, he takes it and you helped him up to his feet once again. "I must admit, this is a breakthrough! If only I could have inspected him closer, I could have-- LOOK OUT!"

"WHA-?!" Jonathan practically jumped out of his skin, his neck snapping to glance at the corpse you were pointing at and in his frazzled state, he didn't notice it was a joke until you started to laugh beside him. Once collecting his wits, he glares at you... But he supposes this is payback.

He will get you back, just you wait.

I think one of the things that makes it so hard to find new creators (that are free) is how insular paywall/early access cc creators are. I literally can't remember the last time any of them used their massive platforms to support newer creators and they only seem to reblog content that features their own stuff or other creators they're close with. They are literally only concerned about their "brand" instead of actually participating in the community that provides them with their livelihoods. If you're looking for content, you're going directly to these creators first and maybe you'll look through finds blogs if you're more invested. To a point, I understand that's how popularity works, but they could be doing so much more.

Plus, since the early access model is so popular, I do think there's a push for new creators to switch to that. You get an initial burst of engagement when you first post and then another when your content is free, instead of just posting once and getting what you get. Also, I do think there's an unspoken rule that "early access creator" = "professional". So, if you want to be taken seriously, you'll imitate what the "professionals" are doing.

I'm sorry you're discouraged trying to find new creators. It's actually insane how much damage the popularity of paywalling has done to this community.

Hey nonny, thanks for sending this and also for your sympathy! I agree with everything you said, and I'm just gonna ramble a bit in a semi related way.

I think the point you made about professionalism is especially poignant. Creating cc is less a hobby now and more a setup for your own "business". But in this marketplace, there are no standards or regulation whatsoever- and many people here are just bad at what they do in various ways. It seems as if they either have the aesthetic & business model down, but are terrible to their customers and/or make terrible product, or they make a good product but can't quite grasp how to play the "game" to work the system to its full advantage. Sometimes you get people bad at all of it, yet they still charge. Because the only consistent thing about this community at the moment is that everything absolutely has to have a price, no matter how shitty it is. And there's absolutely zero consequence for being a gigantic douche nozzle.

This is a mostly disconnected side note, but when I think about these creators, it's just unbelievably depressing. I have thought about what it would be like to try early access a few times over the years, and honestly even the thought gave me such a burst of anxiety I immediately dismissed it. Just releasing cc for free is sometimes an anxious feeling for me, I just can't imagine having to base a business around it. The thought of possibly disappointing people and not consistently providing a quality product that is worth their money is a shameful thought for me. I have gotten a few $1 donations to my patreon over the years and even then i feel bad for not being able to create cc for a while because of my mental health, and not being better at cc making in general. And yet there's people that provide the most lazy, shit items I've ever seen without blinking. Stuff they never tested that doesn't work in game, two second conversions, no hat chops, no lods, gigantic poly, etc. They don't even know how to make cc and admit to that but still charge. I think I would die of shame. I'm sitting here thinking about, do they feel guilt over it, in the back of their mind? Does the stress and the anxiety gnaw at them like it does me? Even just uploading to curseforge for me, causes a bit of anxiety, even though no one pays for it directly. But CF is just another tool to be used to most- now people use patreon, but once its unlocked, the download link leads to CF so they can double dip. So it must not be bothersome to them at all. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around.

I'm glad you mentioned the part about how insular paywallers are. But I think there's even more to this than just popularity. They do not break from their circle, except in the very rare case someone new becomes very popular and they want to do a boring collab with them, and even then it seems limited. I'm pretty sure they have a server (or multiple) where they share people's urls for the purposes of chain blocking them. They also, without a doubt, share people's personal info to one another in order to ban their accounts from their patreons (at the very least). I have witnessed this multiple times. There are several doxxing rings besides the ones that were exposed, at least one exclusive to early access creators. They don't allow new people in/trust others easily because of this. This is why I don't trust paywallers as a rule; not because I think custom content should never be monetized under any circumstances, but because the lack of standardization and consequences for privacy violations makes it unsafe.

I've read through your ask again, and it made me think of something else, so bear with me haha. But the point about how you find newer creators, and how some will go to finds blogs. The fact of the matter is that popular finds blogs have the potential to be compromised as well. I have been blocked by mmccworld ever since EA temporarily banned paywalling and I reblogged a post that had a list of people intending to continue paywalling after that, and they happened to be on that list. They were one of the more popular finds blogs in the community, but I obviously won't be reblogged by them like I was in the past. Now, this isn't that relevant anymore since they're definitely not as highly regarded as they once were, but think about tumblr's lack of algorithm & what you said about how people find newer creators. If you aren't reblogged, you aren't found. And it makes me wonder how many other creators are blocked at a finds blog's discretion. I mean, this isn't necessarily a bad thing; you can filter people how you like, for example I don't reblog from paywallers on mine, or known bigots etc. But it's something to think about, and I think is a smaller example of how simblr works. If you don't play the game and fall in line, if you question the wrong person, you won't get exposure. And to most, in our current system, exposure equals money. Of course you're going to toe the line- no one wants to be publicly shamed, or worse, have a drop in potential income.
