alright alright I KNOW I talk about Alaska to death but I’m just real passionate sometimes, and I think alaska’s history is heavily disregarded, so this time I’m gonna talk about the Aleutian islands

to start off the natives of the Aleutian Islands are the Unangan and Sugpiaq so keep that in mind

To show y’all how devastating Russian contact was by itself for them, in over the course of just 50 years, the native population of the Aleutians dropped by 80 percent. EIGHTY PERCENT. By both violence and European disease

one of the biggest events that broke the Aleutian natives back of resistance was the Awa’Uq, or Refuge Rock Massacre. Literally devastating shit, there’s not even a definitive number to how many natives were killed, from the range of 300 - 3,000. Those people were all men women and children, man. What triggered this? No idea, I couldn’t find anything, it was just something they chose to do i guess. Some jumped to their deaths trying to escape, men were forced into slavery, and women and children are taken as hostages to ensure the men’s cooperation, terrible terrible stuff. This process was continued all throughout everywhere the Russians went in Alaska as well. Also, the bodies were never buried, they were just abandoned and disrespected and no one could even come back there from all the decay and smell.

Awa’Uq means “to become numb” or “where one becomes numb”

And in this event, it was caused by only 130 Russians. They suffered no casualties.

that massacre happened in 1784, btw, so to put perspective on that, this is the same year The Continental Congress ratified the Treaty of Paris, establishing the United States as an independent and sovereign nation, so Alaska’s been around for quite some time

There were obviously more stuff but I think I should space these tidbits around in future posts and also cuz I’m too tired to type anymore currently 😌 uhhh. Overall, I’d say, Alaska stopped having huge devastating events by the 1990s or early 2000s, but I think a huge fear of Alaska’s is that he is afraid of history like that jumping all out again, feeling all terrible like that, being dreadful of things going bad all over again. Especially because no one’s gonna help (perhaps that’s just what he thinks), unlike the Lower 48 who have each other, surrounded by people that could help, yknow? Roguneto Rant

Long-form answer to a survey @rogueslove asked. I didn’t realize I had so many thoughts on the MagnetoxRogue ship vs GambitXRogue ship. When I was a kid I shipped Rogue and Gambit in the cartoon show. However as an adult I’ve gone back and am reading all of the X-men comics (literally all of them) and now I ship Rogue and Magneto hardcore.

I just feel they are healthier. They have their own identities and didn’t define themselves by their relationship with each other. I feel that even though Magneto has a tendency to take the lead when it comes to missions, he encourages her to make her own decisions when it comes to her personal life (even when it’s not in his best interest) and treats her as an equal, encouraging her to be confident in herself. Even when they aren’t together anymore, he comes when she calls and is always able to tell when something’s bothering her. Because of the nature of her powers, she’s always internalized her negative feelings but he always encourages her to speak her mind and say what’s on her heart and gives her good advice (again- even if it’s not to his benefit). I like that they challenge each other, he pushes her to be decisive and shows her the world isn’t always black and white while she leashes his ego and convinces him to be more of a team player and empathetic on missions. I really hate that Marvel didn’t give them a chance to really be in a real relationship. To be fair, the timing of them starting to date was pretty bad with everything that was going on, but I really feel the writers handicapped Magneto and Rogue by 1) not allowing them to define what their relationship was and 2) by literally splitting them up and having them refuse to reach out to each other for comfort or support for undefined reasons. And even when Magneto reached out to her to ask for commitment after he almost died and she broke up with him, he still respected her decision and her need to find herself as an independent person. He still clearly has feelings for her, but does not pursue her or try to sabotage her marriage to Gambit. In fact, he encouraged Rogue to pick Gambit over him because he makes her happy and she makes the thief be a better man.

Rogue and Gambit I feel are a fun couple, but they are too codependent on each other and are very sexually motivated. A couple having a high sex drive isn’t a bad thing, except Rogue’s powers sometimes inhibit their ability to be physical, and it tends to cause her to spiral emotionally and dip in self-confidence. Her powers fluctuating literally drove Rogue to tears in fear that her power inconsistency was going to drive Gambit away literally after they just got married, after having only jumped back into their relationship a few months prior. His proposal was very out of the blue, and while romantic, this shows she’s still not secure in their relationship. And who did she confide in? Who immediately realized something was off about her? Who encouraged her to voice her fears to her husband instead of crying alone in the sky? Magneto. To Gambit’s credit, he has put in the time with Rogue, he’s been romantically chasing her forever and was there for her for a long time, even when they couldn’t touch; but he hid a lot from her and still does, he takes her previous romantic encounters with other men personally, even though they weren’t together during those times, and once again--I feel he (unintentionally) pushes her to place her value in her ability to be physical with him as opposed to her own personal strengths. He constantly tries to find ways to shut off/neutralize her powers, which while they are an inconvenience, they are a part of her identity. I also really hate that he stated (while being influenced by an emotion-power mutant) that he “sent” Rogue to Magneto so she would get her feelings for him out of her system and was banking that she would come back to him, that she just needed to “see [Magneto] up close” and that it “works every time”. That’s not okay. He’s always shown his displeasure in Rogue’s feelings for Magneto, even though-to be fair, she knew Magneto in a personal way long before Gambit joined the team, which isn’t fair to Rogue. In the early days he was very sexually aggressive with her and even pushed her to physically strike him on multiple occasions to get him to stop, clearly showing he has issues respecting boundaries and consent. Even after she explained to Gambit that she left Magneto but needed to be on her own for a while to find herself, he began flirting with her in front of students and asking her out on dates as “just friends”. And honestly, Kitty and Gambit conspired against Rogue to send the two on a “romantic therapy” related mission to jump-start their relationship again. Not to mention he proposes to her in front of all of their friends because it was a shame to waste a wedding. It’s so manipulative and Ick.

You tried your best to fit in, mainly in public too. Luckily, your boyfriend and his bandmates support you. The door creaked open which caught your attention. You looked up to see your boyfriend, Jonathan. You let out a sharp gasp along with some crunchy-ass coughing.

You tried to let out some words but couldn't due to your coughing.

"J-Jonathan wha-" you kept coughing which caused you to sit up in bed. Jon stood awkwardly.

He shut the door behind him holding a plastic container. Something. Jonathan stared at you. He slowly walked over to you standing at a reasonable distance.

"I know I'm supposed to be out at work and shit, but I just wanted to...I don't know. Cheer you up, dude. Couldn't stay in the recording room knowing you were suffering at home. Well.. looks like you're having fun though." he points to your game boy. You let out a weak laugh. He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly as he stared. You blushed deeply but you were already red in the first place because of your stupid Flu and hay fever. "Plus. I made something for you to hopefully cheer you up and make you feel just a little better I guess." He smiled. He was very.VERY proud of himself.

"Yeah.. no." you looked at the plastic container. Looks like something you find at the Chernobyl site.

"Come on, just fucking eat it it’s not that hard, babe." Jonathan glared as he stared at you. You kept staring at the ceiling as you rolled your eyes and coughed. The back of your throat felt like fire from hell itself. It felt raw and a burning sensation filled your throat. You had a raging flu along with hay fever. You scuffed.

"Jonathan, I'm fine. Just.. leave me alone, I don't wanna get you sick." you half lied. All you wanted to do was be alone and not eat the toxic waste that he made. But at the same time, you didn't want him to catch what. Jonathan laughed.

"Nice try man just.. Eat it. Please?" He placed it on the bedside table. Jonathan sat down on your bed, he faked puppy eyes and he put his hands together. In a begging position. God, he was annoying as hell sometimes. But you loved him for that. You admit, it was adorable. you looked at the bedside table at the soup. Before you even opened your mouth Jonathan Blurted out, making you snap out of your thoughts. "Plus, turn this Emo shit off dude. I brought some REAL music for you." He happily pulled out a CD case, opening it to reveal just a plain disk. He ran over to your CD player, taking Fly Leaf out of the CD player to replace it with some "real music" of his. You scuffed and smiled, along with a few annoying ass coughs. Some of his music started to play. He smiled and started to ngid his head, proud of himself. You let out a small laugh, starting to enjoy his company. In your room, trying to make you feel better. Jonathan walked over to you,

"'ll make you a deal, ___, if you at least take a few bites of my soup I'll leave you alone, how about that?" he smiled at you as he grabbed the soup and sat crisscrossed on your guy's bed. You laughed, weakly. Now was your chance, you thought. You grinned

"If.. I ate the soup, could you stay the whole day, perhaps?" you asked. Your face flushed up as he nodded.

"Sure, but Only if you eat it. I spent my whole soul on that." he playfully nudges your leg.

Fuck, he was a sarcastic mother fucker. Again, you loved him for that. You grinned widely as you happily grabbed the soup and spoon that came along with it, opening the container, and going wild on the soup, wasn't as bad as you thought. He kept telling you to slow down. A little while after, he broke the silence as he continued to stare into your eyes. "I hmm.. You're quite a handsome man, ____," he muttered as he scratched his head awkwardly. You would have started to feel better about the situation.

"Thank you, Jonny. I.. really appreciate it." you smiled softly as you set down the soup on the bedside table. Jonathan's face was flustered as shit. You sat on your knees to face him, your cough was slowly weakening, so this wouldn't be as awkward. Jonathan got an idea. He crawled over the top of your bed, laying his back against the headboards. With his legs spread out on the bed. He smiled softly, tapping his thigh.

"Here, if you want you could rest your head on my lap. If you.. Wanted to." he got quiet at the end of his sentence muttering. You smiled and cupped his cheek softly as your hand glided up the back of his head, interlocking your fingers with his dreads.

"If I get you sick, don't blame me." you laughed a little as you looked into his eyes.

"Just come here and fucking kiss me you fag." He said playfully as he placed his hands on your face, pulling you into a passionate but rough kiss. You moaned softly as you placed your hands on his hips, guiding yourself onto his lap. You pull away from the kiss he chuckles as he gives you one last quick kiss.

"Now you're going to get sick." You sorely laughed.

“It's worth it if it means I can be with you," he mutters as he places his forehead against yours, closing his eyes. You giggled as you placed your head into the crevice of his neck. Jon placed his arms on your chest, caressing your scars. He mumbled some words into your shoulder and you both held each other in a tight embrace." I love your scars baby. I love how they feel, they fit you too, it makes you look manly." you smiled and let out a few coughs.

"Thank you, Jonny," you mumbled into his ear then wrapped your legs around his waist.

"You're the best boyfriend in the whole wide world, baby. No matter what. I just wanted to tell you that no matter what happens, you can always come to me, baby. If anyone calls you mean shit or even verbally or physically hurts you just.. Come to me or just call them a cunty fag." he laughed light heartedly. You laughed as you held on tighter. "You'll always be my boy, and I love you for who you are." he started to lay down on the bed, dragging you with him. Once you guys fully lay down, he caressed the back of your head letting you fall into a deep sleep on his chest.

Cool so if misandrist anon gets to be a hateful bitch to all men do i get my get out of jail free misogynist card? I've been sexually harrassed as a 10 year old by both, but men were forced to apologize to me by other men and women, while if i was harassed by women, they thought they did absolutely nothing wrong even though i felt way more violated. I was only ever groped by women in my whole entire life. It heavily affected how my sexual orientation manifests (my attraction to women can be uncomfortable because of fear of them breaching my boundaries and treating it as an innocent joke). Men are always friendly and speak kindly to me at work but women keep taking out their anger from home at me. My boss is completely ostracised by women at work because she (yes, my boss is a woman! And her boss is a woman too!) reminds them of company policies when they get ridiculous with their demands, like wanting to have double break time compared to other departments and do no extra work to make up for it. We have one other man in the department and they keep emotionally manipulating him into working second shift in the evenings week after week because they don't want to do it, despite it being literally part of their job to be on rotation for the second shift (he shouldn't be doing this because it breaks worker safety laws).

Literally, like I’m technically bisexual but I have a preference for men. But I also find it’s just too hard to date women, I always constantly got put down for the same behaviours THEY do (being open about attraction and talking openly about sex). One time when I lived in shared housing, it was predominantly with women and we had music videos playing. A chick appeared wearing short shorts and I said “hell yeah” - I immediately got attacked by the girls in the room, along with my ex girlfriend trying to tell me I don’t need to be a womaniser to “act like a cis man” to be a man. While those same women would sit around discussing in detail how much they love big cocks, eating ass and licking out pussy.

I’ve been groped by a woman before, and when I tried to tell people in the friend group they told me it was my own fault for not speaking up when it happened and she didn’t really mean it. But if a man did that, they would have called him a violent rapist. Like, I wasn’t even trying to get her to be “cancelled” I’m pretty sure some of it was a misunderstanding cause I went into freeze mode but when I told her about it, she blew me off and tried to say if I don’t speak up it’s my own fault.

Also, whenever I rejected sexual advances from ex girlfriends cause I wasn’t in the mood they would start accusing me of not thinking they’re pretty/hot and I’m like no I just don’t feel like it. I wasn’t given any gentle affection, it always was assumed I wanted sexual intercourse if I was affectionate when really I just wanted to cuddle.

I swear some women will use the fact they have kids to get out of doing their part at work. It’s one thing for people to be courteous and help out but to basically force others to take all the “bad” shifts is so frustrating. Especially when these days, both parents work. And women are allowed to be verbally aggressive and no one thinks is wrong, but if a guy does it everyone acts like it’s the same as physical violence. Whereas for me, I see it the same way. At the share house, one of the women and me got into an argument. She started yelling, screaming and throwing things. I told her let’s stop please, this is scaring me. She started laughing at me and got even MORE aggressive. Like I had to threaten to call the police to get her to stop.

I try very hard to be conscious, I’m on the spectrum and at times I don’t realise the volume of my voice. Especially when I feel strong emotions. When women have told me it’s making them uncomfortable, I ask why (cause I don’t realise my voice volume) and they accuse me of pretending to not know.

Being an autistic man is harder than an autistic woman. Autistic women are seen as cute, quirky and shown sympathy for mishaps in social interactions. People assume the best intentions from them. But autistic men are seen as creepy and full of ill motives. My life was easier when I was a girl cause no one treated me with all these rigid boxes. Now I’m treated as a fucking creep automatically.

I see women as people and people can be crappy. They aren’t special. They shouldn’t be granted special treatment just for being a woman.

Okay, so I don’t normally write fluff honestly I’ve only written everything with the mixture of everything or angst but not specifically just fluff so writing fluff has never been something I’m suited for 😭 but as promised @microwaves-reblogs I attempted to write like ACTUAL tooth rotting fluff just for you <3

Au where Cartman and Kyle are dating and just bought a house together (they’re in their late twenties) however Cartman’s in a wheelchair because he got in a really bad accident with Kenny back in high school.

Kyle and Cartman scrolled around town and ended up in a wooden area; Kyle holding on to Cartman’s wheelchair just cause they we’re now heading down a long stair path.

“Want me to carry you, babe?”

“No, I got this.” Cartman commented shaking his head rapidly, and clearly struggling to find a way down that didn’t lead him to fall off.

Kyle scratched his scalp while he watches, “Eric there’s no way down besides this and it’s kinda a long path, let me just carry you.”

Cartman kept silent but nodded in agreement after a couple of seconds. After all, Kyle was right, there wasn’t many more options besides Kyle’s arms or dragging his ass down and he wasn’t feeling like dragging himself right there getting his new pair of pants dirty.

Kyle watched how his boyfriend’s expression dropped, he sighed before lifting him up with ease and tried folding the chair with his right arm. Luckily Kyle is use to this by now so there wasn’t much struggle put in it.

He kisses Cartman’s cheek reassuring it’s okay, “I know you don’t like to be carried around cause it makes you feel useless and shit, but you know that’s far from the case.” Kyle began walking down the path.

Cartman opt to count the stairs as he listened to Kyle’s attempts to cheer him up.

“I just can’t understand how can there’s still not be a path here for us disabled people. ¡Goddamnit! I just want to have a nice evening stroll with my boyfriend without having to ask him to help me out with my dumb wheelchair! ¡Every damn time! ” Kyle planted another kiss this time on the side of his forehead as he let Cartman just vent his anger and frustration away.

Sometimes it was hard for Cartman to acknowledge out loud about his disability even if it was literally his day to day because he still refuses to accept it. Kyle knows that, just as much to know that if Cartman manage to blurt that out then it was because he was really upset.

Kyle places the chair finally at the end of the pathway, opening it as he carefully placed Cartman in it, he could notice Cartman’s glossy eyes as he tried looking away from him. Kyle crouch down as he rested his arm on Cartman’s knees, he reached his arm out to Cartman’s face and with his hand placed on his cheek gesturing Cartman to look at him.

“I know it sucks, but there’s nothing wrong for you to ask for help sometimes.”

“You don’t get it, Kyle. You’ll never get it…” Cartman rubbed his cheek against Kyle’s hand finally accepting the small gesture of affection, “I’ve never thought I’d get to the point where I have to be so dependent on you, yeah, I use to fuck around acting like I liked having you up my ass with my business and fixing my shit but at the end of it I would’ve never asked for this?” He gestured his legs with a exasperated expression.

“¡I want to be the man you need, not this Kyle! ¡Never this!” The position they were previously in was no longer displayed as Cartman shakes his head in disbelief trying to rub off his tears with both his hands.

Kyle just watched sympathetic and a little broken cause he rarely gets to see this vulnerable side of Cartman, he rubbed soothingly the side of his waist in hopes to calm him down.

“And what’s the type of man you think I need?” Kyle spoke softly after a brief second.

Cartman sniffed as he placed his hands down on his lap staring deeply into Kyle’s eyes, “someone more independent Kyle… someone that is practically not a mess like me… someone who has his shit together and knows what he wants and gets what he wants. Determine, cunning, that can provide you everything you want, successful..”

Kyle rested his head on Cartman’s lap, their eyes never drifted apart from the other, “you’re cunning, you’re the most determined person I know, you may not have all your shit together but you don’t let that break you, you’re not a mess you got your mind always in a check actually you’re far from being a mess that you like having even the shampoo bottles in order,” Kyle chuckled lightly, smiling dumbly before continuing, “you’re not successful now but you can if you actually wanted to, fatass. Lazy ass. And most importantly you do provide everything I want; which is you. You’re all I ever wanted.”

Cartman eyes widened dilated, his cheeks flushed as his heart began beating rapidly.

“Kyle that’s the gayest shit you’ve ever told me,” Cartman let out a laugh surprised, embarrassed, flattered? Overwhelmed. As he tried wiping away the new tears that threaten to slide down his chubby red face.

Kyle rolled his eyes unfazed but still kept a warm smile plastered on his face.

“Well you make me be like that,” Kyle kept it going as he stood up.

Cartman smiled feeling a lot better and following the ‘shit on Kyle’ train he just started, “what did I do to gain such a perfect jew?”

Kyle rolled his eyes once more now starting to walk alongside Cartman, “what did I ever do wrong to deserve such an asshole boyfriend?”

Cartman snickered in response as he couldn’t help stop grinning pathetically by how easy it was for Kyle to make him feel all giddy and okay, to his usual self. He sure was his fort.

“I love you,” Kyle stopped his tracks for a bit; after Cartman blurted it out. It’s not like they’ve never exchanged ‘I love you’s’ before but sometimes it startles him when Cartman’s abrupt about it.

Kyle’s little shock expression vanished in a blink of an eye covering it with a calming one, getting back in his tracks and jogging behind Cartman as this motherfucker was already far away from him, “Love you too, fatboy,” he replied back a little longer after, but Cartman didn’t mind that.

However, he hummed and looked at Kyle; a small look the other knew damn well what it meant, Kyle leaned forward and planted a kissed on his lips. They both stopped in place as Cartman gently placed his hands on Kyle’s face; rubbing with his thumb soothingly on his cheeks. Feeling their warmth and the comfort it brought.

Kyle broke the kiss after for what it felt like a minute, faces still inches apart as Cartman’s hands still remain in the same position placed. Looking at each other fondly Kyle smiled as Cartman smiled back in return it’s not unusual for them to stare a each other for this long.

They enjoyed seeing every detail of their partner’s face.

After a minute they’ve decided it was already enough and continued their way back town.

“You know, it’s almost our anniversary,” Cartman spoke.

Kyle hummed in acknowledgment, “you’d think I’d forget?”

“You forgot last time,” there was no hint of spite or grudge in those words, just a casual reminder.

“Oh c'mon I truly thought it was for the week after, just one week delayed, muffin. ONE.”

Cartman rolled his eyes playfully, he had already forgiven Kyle along time ago but Kyle seems to still be very persistence in feeling guilty about it.

“Anyways, like I was saying… maybe this year we should go on a trip for our anniversary?” He suggested, Kyle thought about it for a second.

“And what do you have in mind?”

Cartman rubbed his hands together before placing them back to the wheels of his chair, “well, what about visiting Kenny?”

“Florida?”

“Yeah, wouldn’t you like to spend some time in the beach seeing Kenny get hustle by waves and enjoy some bomb ass smoothie’s.”

Kyle smiled; laughing lightly as he pictured the image.

“We should invite Stan.”

“Hmhm if the hippie manages with his space geek schedule why not?”

“Fuck, it’s been so long since we last hanged out as friends,” Kyle remarked nostalgic.

“I supposed thats whats growing up is all about,” Cartman sighed, remembering vividly the memories the four shared a smirk surfaced in his features, “I guess you just can’t get rid of me huh?”

Now it was Kyle turned to laugh surprised, “bitch, I never thought I would.”

They shared one small kiss before heading back home.

Alright, so, you’re pretty much the queen Good Dad!Ink (at least in my mind), which I adore with all my being, so I wanted to share a thought I had with you.

See, I’ve seen people use Ink’s poor memory as ammunition against him being a Good Parent. Often, it’s either in a funny-haha “he forgot to pay child support/straight up abandoned the kid” way, but I’ve also seen it used to make him Evil and Unfeeling and a bunch of other stuff. You know, the usual “Ink is Evil” propaganda or whatever.

Thing is, all I can think of, if Ink ever actually forgot he had a whole ass child? Is how absolutely horrific and gut wrenching it would feel once he did remember. I can’t help thinking he’d feel so, so guilty (even if his bad memory isn’t his fault). Can you imagine that?

You’re just walking around, goofing off, just living your life with your friends, and you suddenly realize you have a child you haven’t see in stars knows how long because you forgot about them. Has it been days? Months? Years? Do they think you did it on purpose, that you don’t love them with everything you have? Where are they, are they okay, how much of them have you missed? How could you forget you own child?

Just. I don’t know. I feel like no ever thinks about how that would be for Ink.

Exactly, PERFECTLY, put into words.

Ink’s forgetfulness in general seems to be played most often for either laughs or for angst (where he hurts another character with it) when it comes to content depicting it (not that that shouldn’t be explored ofc). Not a lot of thought about how it affects HIM and the guilt he might feel whenever he forgets something as important as his OWN CHILD. At least, not that I’ve seen. I could be wrong, but it seems most likely when you look at basically every other fanon trend with Ink.

Ink shrugging off whenever he forgets he has a kid also seems to me to be a symptom of the whole “Ink can’t/doesn’t care about anyone” thing. People think he doesn’t have the ability to care for or love anyone so they just assume he won’t feel guilty for forgetting whatever child he has. Even though the supposed “fact” that he can’t care is PROVEN to not be TRULY the case because this lad ADORES their dads. Sure, it might not be in the exact same way as others, and it may take Ink a good while to get attached to someone on that level. But even IF he’s not super attached to his kid I STILL THINK they’d feel guilt about it. After all, taking care of a kid is something SUPER important and serious. Ink could think logically about how that might make the child feel and be able to regret forgetting them. (In fact he canonically DOES logically think about how others feel FREQUENTLY. The official Ink FAQ stating that before they actually fight someone, they “focus on trying to discover their motives and talk them through it.” and he “know(s) what to analyze to understand the issue so he can brush people the right way and hopefully have them listen.”)

So, if Ink IS super emotionally attached to/cares deeply for their child, which isn’t at all out of the question because it’s their literal CHILD…

Oh BOY would the feelings of guilt and regret MULTIPLY EXPONENTIALLY.

Because contrary to what some may believe, Ink is a VERY emotional being, often feeling INTENSELY about certain things. Just not in the “”traditional/“normal””” way.

It would BREAK him inside. Or at least cause INTENSE negative emotions. Like… imagine if Ink forgot about Top and Aster for a good while. It would KILL HIM emotionally once he remembers them again. This man would be crying and apologizing PROFUSELY to them.

It’s so tragic. Ink, even if they’re trying the HARDEST THEY POSSIBLY CAN to be the best parent he can be, even if they loved their child COMPLETELY UNCONDITIONALLY with their WHOLE BEING, could still “fail” in certain aspects due to factors completely outside of their control. And that must hurt, a lot. He’d probably end up blaming himself/beating himself up about it in this case too.

Now this doesn’t mean that people are always wrong for writing Ink a certain way, Comyet PURPOSEFULLY allows for freedom of interpretation when it comes to Ink’s character.

But, like you Anon, I do wish there was more stuff out there that thinks about how all of this would make Ink feel. Not that other character’s feelings aren’t worth exploring, but that Ink’s perspective should be considered as well. Sure Ink might not be perfect at parenting, but I think he’d at least TRY. And would DEFINITELY care a whole LOT if he realized he forgot about his own kid’s existence.

At least that’s my two cents on the matter

This is for the people who watched the leaked version of episode 10 or already know what’s going to happen on Sunday:

I’ve seen a lot of people say that Aemond’s reaction was completely out of character, it ruined his potential, yada yada yada. But what I’m confused about is where exactly has Aemond been painted as an evil, ruthless bastard? The books - yes, we all know his reputation in the books BUT the books have been vague on many things. That’s why the show has taken its own creative take on the characters. So let’s dive into the SHOW’S Aemond and how his reaction to lucerys’ death was justified:

First off, if memory serves me right, it was Aegon, Jacaerys, and Lucerys who were taunting him about not having a dragon rider. And they did so in such a taunting manner, with a pig dressed as a dragon. Let’s put that to the side for a second and move on a little forward.

At Laena’s funeral, we see the kid at least ATTEMPTING to make amends with Jace by feeling bad for him. Obviously he doesn’t do much cause saying, “hey jace, sorry about your dad” would technically be acknowledging the fact that he’s a “bastard.”

After Laena’s funeral and his stealing of Vhagar, we obviously see him acting like a little shit. No excuse for that, but then maybe we shouldn’t also excuse Jace and Luke bullying him as well. To add onto all of that, his father (Viserys) totally ignores the fact that he lost an EYE and instead, INTERROGATES him and orders him to speak up about what happened in the cave.

Fast forward again, and we’re at a table with a supposed moment of peace and joy. NOT. Again, you’d think with time Lucerys would grow to say, “hey, maybe I was a dumbass kid and need to mature a bit as the future lord of driftmark,” but NOOOO. Let’s stir the pot with a decade old joke because why not?

In the last episode, Aemond is a grown ass man taunting a child. Not only that, but with the biggest dragon in the realm. So shit is bound to get out of control and I think this is exactly what suits Aemond’s character. The dude is a maniac who is obsessed with getting revenge on Lucerys, literally eye for an eye. So when Vhagar goes rogue and plows through Arrax and Lucerys, I definitely don’t think his reaction is out of character.

He has built up animosity and anger towards the people who have wronged him as would anyone who’s been stepped on. Sometimes trauma builds a person’s character for good, but sometimes it’s built for evil. As a child, he definitely didn’t show the characteristics of being evil from birth. Over time, and with the built up narrative that his mother and grandfather have enforced, his entire view is obviously tainted. His entire intention through the last few minutes of the episode is not to kill Lucerys, but to MAIM him. Toy with him in some way. So when Vhagar does the deed, his shock is expected. Not because he cares about the kid (hell no), but because he just did the most stupid thing he could’ve done - starting an irreversible war. In the last episode, we see that he is not above duty and does what he needs to for his family because those are the values that he was brought up with. And by playing around with a child, and losing control of his dragon, he just forfeited his duty AND threw his family into war.

Why I’ve enjoyed this show much more than game of thrones is for the reason that I haven’t been able to stick by one character or even one team. Yes, it seems like I am on team black (Rhaenyra as my profile pic), but at the end of the day, everyone on this show is such a nuanced character. They have their good, but they also have their bad. No one is meant to be a hero, and there are no good guys/gals to save the day. Look to the end of the dance of dragons in the book, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

So say what you will about Aemond, but at least acknowledge where he comes from. If y’all are willing to get on your knees for Daemon who’s a GROWN ASS ADULT doing irredeemable actions, then maybe extend that same energy to Aemond.

As GRRM said, “The most interesting characters are gray characters… all of these characters have good and evil in them and it’s all about the choices they make.”

It’s so funny how you change as you get older and how something’s stay the same. Yes it’s another random ass post about some old ass show.

Back in the day Zuko and Katara were my absolute fave characters and zutara was OP. Then the show ended and I forgot about it.

It got brought back to Netflix recently and I’ve put off watching it cause tbh it was never my favorite cartoon (TT and DP)

I no longer ship zutara, but at the same time I only marginally like kataang more?

Like it’s 45 percent zutara to 55 percent kataang.

Idk I don’t like any of the popular canon/fanon ships much.

Give me Zuko/Suki, Yue/Azula, Mai/Aang, anyday (yes I am weird)

Now onto characters.

I like Aang a bit more now, but idk how much is me actually liking him or just feeling sorry for the shit has character has been through and wanting him to be happy. If that makes sense

Karata is still my fave and I’m sorry I ever doubted her (went through a im not like other girls phase and it wasn’t cool to like her 😭)

Zuko is literally the def of a failwolf (teen wolf moots?) it’s so funny, like he kind of cracks me up because of how unhinged and chaotic this man is. Very determined.

He’s also not my favorite anymore? Idk why. meh on Sokka too. (Don’t fight me but they’re both so overhyped 🫣)

Add Azula to that list. Love her down bad tho.

Also idc what anyone says Appa’s Lost Days were sadder than Irohs dead son scene. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤧

He’s also overrated. But I get why he’s awesome and why people love him, but swear people talk about him, Zuko, Sokka, Azula and a little bit of Toph like they’re the most amazing characters to ever walk the fictional earth. So yeah overrated as hell but still cool.

Appreciate characters like Suki a lot more now she’s a fucking bad ass (little Mary sue but hey she gotta keep up somehow)

Don’t tolerate Toph as much now. I’m very over the cocky/snarky/belligerent/caustic, type characters (will make a post about that soon) but she’s cool.

Grunge Days pt.11 - Let it Roll

“Wait so you’re now just telling us this?” Y/n said, her arms crossed as AIC and Guns were sitting in a conference room.

“Well we knew you guys wouldn’t say no- and hell we just forgot” Axl said, letting out a chuckle.

“Jesus” Layne said, putting his hands on his head.

Guns manager had urgently called the young band to meet them, just to tell them that Soundgarden wouldn’t open for them if Alice didn’t come along, which was exciting to say the least

But to kill the mood, Axl told them that they would leave for the tour later today. As in the next four hours.

Y/ns head almost exploded, she barley had any clean clothes left, her G&L was currently getting some work done which meant she had to take her Ernie Ball, and it’s a great guitar really- it was one of the guitars Eddie had given her. But the issue was the strings break so easily.

“Fine- Can we go now?” Y/n sighed out

“Yup you’re free now” Axl said, giving her a cocky smile.

“Fucken hell” Layne said as they got back into the car “This tours already off to a bad start”

“Maybe it won’t be so bad” Sean said from the backseat “I mean we’re basically touring with out friends, and Y/ns touring with her boyfriend”

This time Y/n spoke up “I mean yea- but they just snatched us up from the Clash of Titans tour”

“Shit” Jerry said “That would’ve been the best tour ever”

They all sat in silence, making a mental note on what they needed to pack. Y/n noted to pack both of her Ernie Balls.

“Why didn’t Susan tell us about this?” Sean suddenly spoke, “I mean she’s managing the both of us, so she definitely knew”

“She’s too focused on Soundgarden to think about us” Layne mumbled “Okay that was mean, maybe it just slipped her mind”

The girl sighed as she put her head to the window.

“Got everything?” Layne said as Y/n stepped into their shared (with Soundgarden) tour bus.

“Yea just put the last of my shit away” Y/n said setting her guitar case down, “Do you guys know our first stop?”

Kim looked over at her “San Jose”

“Right” Y/n said, sitting next to him and opening up a beer bottle, “Can’t believe you guys dragged us on this tour”

“Hey if we have to travel with guns so do you” Chris spoke up “Plus you know them, your literally related to one of them”

“Yea but- Clash of the Titans” Y/n sadly said

“Ohhh Clash of the Titans waa waa” Chris mocked her “This is gonna be fun Y/n”

“I don’t even have my G&L, that already means this is gonna be horrible”

“Susan’s gonna pick it up tomorrow you’ll be fine” Chris said.

He wasn’t right. Y/n broke her string in the middle of the set, and while the guitar tech was fixing it she broke the other one, right in the middle of the ‘Man in the Box’ solo.

And Guns had placed Alice as their ‘closers’, which made Y/n roll her eyes cause that wasn’t even a fucken thing.

Y/n was fucken fuming when she got off stage, she was humiliated. Never in her life had she played such a shit show.

“Y/n babe” Slash said, putting his arm around her as he caught up to her, the girl was walking out of the venue cause goddamn was she so upset.

“What Slash” Y/n sighed out

“Are you okay? What’s wrong” Slash questioned, the girls anger was written all over her face.

“What’s wrong-” Y/n scoffed “I played like fucken shit that’s what’s wrong”

Slash furrowed his eyebrows, he was right next to the stage as Alice performed, and Y/n sounded perfectly fine “Hey no- you sounded great”

“No i fucken didn’t- both of my guitars strings broke and-” Y/n rambled, steam practically coming out of her ears.

“Okay relax” Slash said in a calming voice “Your guitar strings broke- that’s okay it happens to everyone”

“If you guys would’ve told us before i would have my G&L and my strings wouldn’t have broken!” Y/n said, poking her finger into Slash’s chest. “Are you- are you fucken smiling?”

“I’m sorry babe- i just can’t help it” Slash smiled at her “But i know how you feel alright? The only difference is i’ve actually played a shitty show”

“This was a shitty show! Never in my life have i played that badly” Y/n rolled her eyes at him.

“You’ll be fine Y/n” Slash said bringing her into a hug “The rest of the tour will go great, i promise”

“Oh wow you promise huh?” Y/n mocked him

“Yea, I do” He smiled as he rolled his eyes “I’ll do anything i can to make sure you have great time”

“Oh that was sweet” Y/n jokingly said as she smiled at him, “You’re the best” She said, pecking his lips.

“You know no one’s on my bus right now” Slash looked at her “And they’re not gonna be for a while”

“Is that so?” Y/n said, seductively looking down at his lips, “How about you start keeping that promise now?”

“How could I say no”

Hello ! This is pukey Saeyoung anon.

I’m comin off anon bc honestly that shit is too much work. Pretty sure being sick this long has fried any last sense of inhibition or shame in my brain and I think everyone deserves to know how much I love Saeyoung smh. The extent to which that is my Mans. I will publicly gush if I so please. 😤😤

Plus! I’m pleased to report that I haven’t actually thrown up in about two weeks! So like. Hashtag recovery life I guess. 💀

But that’s what I came here to update you about. :’D

I feel like I kinda left you with a cliffhanger there with the whole bone cancer thing. (If it makes you feel any better, the hospital did too 👁👄👁)

November was very much,,, a terrible horrible no good very bad type of month. I spent nearly two weeks waiting for them to get back to me about my dumb bone marrow autopsy only for them to cancel my appointment last minute. And in the meantime I was just getting sicker and sicker… I ended up in and out of the hospital again a couple times,, but by the third time I was scared to go back bc the second time I went they didn’t even admit me overnight. They basically just charged me $700 to take a four hour nap. And cha boy doesn’t have that kinda money. 😭

But it got to the point that I really physically couldn’t take it anymore… I have never been in so much pain and discomfort in my entire life. Which unfortunately with the life I’ve had,, that’s a high ass bar lmao.

And it was just CONSTANT… I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t look at any screens. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stand. I was literally too weak to even pull a blanket up over myself. I literally was spending every night sobbing/shivering/barfing myself to sleep. It was baaaaaaad.

Luckily my roommate at this point had probably started to get annoyed by hearing me crying from pain all night and was like “dude I’m taking you to the hospital again”

And my third hospital visit !! They FINALLY gave me an answer as to wtf is going on!

Good news is…? Not bone cancer. I don’t have to enter my Deadpool era Quite yet.

Bad news…? Apparently I’ve got fuckin Lupus 🤡

Which is super cute and fun because,, you know. Incurable lifelong chronic illness. I’m literally gonna be dealing with this shit for the rest of my life. :)

But like. It’s a perfectly livable disease. As long as it’s, you know. Actually being taken care of and treated. Which I now have enough info to actually do haha.

(Hit the self-loathing so hard that even my own fuckin immune system was like, oh shit we gotta take this bitch DOWN 💀)

I’m soooo glad to be home and back from the hospital… but it’s been very strange too. I’m still really sick and I can’t really do much on my own and,,, my brain physically doesn’t know how to process being like,, taken care of. Honestly it kinda sets off alarm bells in my brain 😳 but I’ve had to accept pretty damn quickly that,, I don’t really have a choice rn. I’m so used to just being on my own pushing through all my pain and just. Waiting till it goes away on its own. But if I do that in this case… the pain will just get worse and my body will quite literally shut down on me and I will literally die. Sooooo like,,,, 🤡 I guess maybe I can stand to be taken care of for at least a little while.

Doc says with all the damage that’s been done to my organs and stuff this past year, they caught it early enough that the damage is reversible. But I need to undergo a really strict recovery treatment,, and they estimate it’ll be at least 18 months before I’m able to get back to my ~normal healthy baseline~. Which is insane… like am I really gonna be out here living like a sickly hermit for a damn year and a half?? I’m gonna keep feeling better, I know. And I’ll slowly be able to do more again. But I can’t go back to my job. It was causing me waaay too much physical and mental strain. :( so that’s gonna be fun to figure out.

They also put me on literally 12 new medications when I left the hospital to help control my symptoms. Each of which I have to take 1-3 times a day. So that’s super exciting. Love a big bowl of pills for breakfast every morning.

It was torture at first because I hate swallowing pills. But it’s been about a week and I’m honestly getting used to it already. And better yet? Even after only a week… they’re noticeably helping my symptoms… and I’m actually starting to be able to do things again… I *almost* feel like, 60% of a normal human person again,,, maybe even 65%! I’m slowly starting to regain my appetite finally… and I can do little things again… like play the new Pokémon game, or watch anime, or draw, or call a friend on the phone. Which… god what a relief 😭 words cannot describe how good it feels to be able to do those things again… frankly,, it was traumatic having to spend the last few months watching my body physically deteriorate in real time… so now that I’m starting to feel like myself again, if only a little. I’m like. Hey?? I actually love myself so much???? I think I’m a pretty cool fun interesting person. Thank GOD I’m making a comeback 😭😭

Saeyoung of course has been a great source of comfort for me throughout all of this… he always is one of my biggest sources of comfort in life… literally even just imagining him being in the same room as me is enough to put me more at ease…

When things were at their worst a big part of how I dealt with shit was vividly daydreaming about making up silly stories with Saeyoung to distract me. This is something I’ve done for years when I’m too upset or stressed to sleep,,, it’s been a reliable source of comfort for me for a hot minute. But it’s never gotten to this extent haha.

We have a whole ass story going,, I’m actually starting to get pretty attached to the story and the characters… which is stupid AF because it’s literally just. Me and Saeyoung Choi as fantasy self-inserts wherein he’s a court jester and I’m a knight and we’re going on a quest to ~find a cure for my mysterious illness~

But a part of me is like 🥺🤔 what if I actually wrote the story tho? Lmaoooo

Amongst other coping mechanisms and distractions,,, I’ve also been falling HARD into my online shopping addiction. But also, idk, can you blame me…? I’m a material gowrl at heart and I haven’t been able to go shopping in person for months 😔😔 I need little treats to get me through the day.

Mostly I’ve been spending an UNGODLY amount of money on plushies. Like… idk if I could count them and I don’t even wanna THINK about the prices fhdhdjd-

Mostly Pokémon and Sanrio characters. But a few other random critters as well.

And tbh?? I don’t regret a single purchase. They’ve literally all helped me feel more comfortable and joyful these past couple months, which I’ve really needed. So, even if my bed is starting to look RIDICULOUS from sheer volume of plushies…. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m living my best life

A few days ago I got a giant charmander plushy… and like. Ordinarily I’m not even the biggest fan of charmander (shut UP ABOUT CHARIZARD GAMEFREAK. IM OVER IT. GEN 1 IS POPULAR WE GET IT)

But I swear to god this young man is changing my life. It may be the softest squishiest most huggable plush I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been carrying him almost everywhere,,, starting to feel like the “ahh yes. Me, my partner, and their life sized mareep plushy” meme for real 💀💀

((How do you think Saeyoung would feel about me turning our bed into a literal mountain of plushies? Or having to compete for attention with my charmander? Hehe. ))

I love fashion,,, so much. Truly one of my greatest joys in life is getting into a really cool fun outfit and strutting around Knowing that I’m cool as fuck and I look like a sexy badass 😤😤 it’s simply the most powerful feeling.

Love when I’m wearing an outfit I know looks fire and I can’t stop smirking haha.

And I just,,, love being flamboyant and silly and having fun with it. I’m 100% the type of person to walk into a store and go “this is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. The colors and patterns are such a mess they’re practically nauseating. I NEED IT.”

I have a collection of tacky button up shirts that could probably blind a man lmao. And JACKETS?? Don’t get me started on jackets. Boots,,, cargo pants,,, earrings,,, big colorful sunglasses. Ugh. <3

Since I’ve been so sick I haven’t been putting much effort into my appearance. My outfits were so joyless for a while… and then, well. I’ve spent the last month and a half wearing exclusively Pajamas and Hospital Gowns 😭

Considering that my main fashion inspirations ordinarily fall somewhere between Elton John, Lil nas x, and Jojo’s bizarre adventure…

You inspired me to go looking for some fun new clothes online. And now I’m feeling so excited and impatient for them to get here because I can’t remember the last time I got to put together a fun outfit… I actually wanna like,, get up and get dressed for the first time in so long c’: if only to waltz around my apartment a little bit and take a few selfies.

I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get back to my FULL level of glamour,, my inflammation is still pretty bad so my face and body are kinda weird and swollen and lumpy right now 🥴 and again,,, standing and walking are still very much a challenge. Idk if I could wear heels right now haha I’m wobbly enough on my feet already.

But I can’t wait to get back into it…

Like you were saying in that ask too… another part of why I love fashion defs has to do with my gender expression… and I LOVE LOVE LOVE when people bring that up with Saeyoung 😭 it always makes me grin and fills me with so much adoration to think about Sae getting to have fun and experience that euphoria with clothing and fashion as well… and especially the thought of us getting to do it together….? c’:

While I am happy to hear that you have a better understanding of what's going on in your life, I'm sorry you're going through this transitional time when you discover that you have chronic illness. That has to be the most difficult time for a lot of people. You have to make a lot of adjustments and make changes that you may not be happy with to make sure that you're taken care of. I empathize and understand this because I deal with multiple chronic illnesses. If you ever need a safe space to vent about it, this is always a safe spot. Whether you want it to be posted or not, you can always scream into the inbox.

I hope you don't beat yourself up over the new limitations and changes that are coming into your life. It'll be hard for a little while to get used to everything. But it'll be okay. I can't promise that it'll be easy in the long run. This journey is a lot different for everybody. I think what helps when you feel lonely and isolated in that regard, is to find comfort in the things that make you happy and if that is this video game, then I'm glad that you have it. It's been there for me through all of my experiences so I'm also grateful for it.

I know what it feels like to be lonely and afraid. Having my blog like this... it’s a place where I’m able to help everyone’s dream. It’s simple, it’s small, but I know even the smallest response of “Yes, your favorite character would do this for you today!” means the world to someone on their worst day. I hope that you’re able to find some spoons to dress up and feel good very soon. It’s hard to find a good day sometimes, but you’ll have soon, I’ll cross my fingers for you.

Imagine that, I mean, imagine Saeyoung gushing over you because you found the energy to get up and show off your new outfit. There’s dazzling sparkles in his eyes as he looks at you. His hands are pressed to his mouth, and he looks like he’s going to keel over in delight. He’s absolutely enamored and in love with the sight of you. “You’re so handsome! I can’t take it! I’m in the presence of the best lover! I think I’m the luckiest boyfriend in the world!” Cue him pretending to faint before you ask him if he’s getting dressed, too.
