Hey everyone
It’s like 5 A.M as of me writing this, and I’m just… so tired.
I know I haven’t posted in a while. I just don’t know what to do with this blog, but that’s not important right now.
What is important is this: after the whole situation with Chuggaccnory over the past few days… I need help. Serious help.
I can’t handle being betrayed like this. I’ve been a fan of Chugga since 2018, but a few years before that, I enjoyed his content until I was like… 10 or so. I got back into TheRunawayGuys and his content as a whole when I was 16, and I’ve been a fan ever since.
Well, if you know what he’s been accused of over the past few days… yeah.
My childhood. My teenagehood. My adulthood. All three of these have been ruined by this drama and the allegations.
I just… I need help. And yes, I’m being serious.
Who do I turn to now? How am I supposed to cope with all of this? How do I stop myself from wanting to commit suicide?
I think I need to contact a crisis helpline, this is just too much for me to handle…
I doubt anyone will see this or care, but if you do… I hope you will be able to provide some help. I desperately need it.

Okay, so Ch69 was a BOMBSHELL (and I'm going insane)
SSS appearing at the beginning makes me think Yuri might take on the case, meaning he might meet Anya (Anya's not supposed to know about Yuri's job) and Damian
It would also make sense since the Red Circus was taken on by Yor (Ch17.5) and it would be funny to see the two siblings deal with the same enemy while preventing the other sibling from knowing about it
Damian is sitting with George. You would've expected him to sit with Ewen/Emile, but he let them sit together. This is very curious to me because George literally tried to get Damian expelled, and only failed because Anya stood up for him (the teacher wouldn't believe E&E). Damian, sweetie, this is a boy who tried to frame you as a smoker and sent a spy to change your grades. Good for you that you don't hold it against him, I guess
I do think Ewen and Emile are very devoted to Damian (see the boys' field trip) but maybe Damian doesn't want them to fight over who gets to sit next to him?
Anya and Damian also sit in the same row on the two sides of the bus. Knowing how Anya wants to approach Damian (and how Damian notices Anya), it's probably intentional.
Bill makes a reappearance, which is a welcome surprise. Damian sounds like a classist (literally) with his comment that the school should've at least given each class their own bus. Huh, didn't know Damian liked his class that much (or hated the other classes so much)
"Shut up. Who told you Wald hall kids you're allowed to talk to me?" ??? Is Damian still salty about losing the dodgeball match?? Does he think Cecil hall is superior? Is there a hierarchy at school? Or does he just not like Bill?
"All you other classes are our rivals" Damian bestie your classes could change next year. According to what Becky said, they're going to be divided by grades. Damian sure has a lot of Cecil hall loyalty / pride for some reason
I love Anya's impression of Damian. He's a silly, snot-faced crybaby. Like, it's really evident from the artstyle that Anya thinks of herself as "totally adorable" (with Becky nodding in agreement, aww) while Damian is just a goofy scion.
NOTE: in Anya's imagination, the teacher says Damian is "an uggo on the inside". And Anya also says, "Sy-on boy isn't ugly, he's just a piece of crap"
So Anya doesn't judge from appearances, unlike Damian who repeatedly calls her an uggo and a runt, and it's possible Anya thinks of herself as "superior" to Damian because she doesn't think he's ugly, she just thinks he sucks in general LMFAO
So Anya doesn't think Damian is ugly. Maybe. She probably thinks he looks stupid though
By the way, Anya makes herself look prettier in her own filter. Damian also makes her look prettier in his filter
Anya throws a crumbled up piece of paper to get Damian's attention. This is exactly what Damian did when they first met and he wanted her attention
Damianya violence arc omg. Damian seems to be blushing less as the chapters go on, and they have a fun sort of semi-rivalry.
DAMIAN GOT THE CAKE FOR ANYA!! "I should just hand her the stupid cake and be done with it" Awww he genuinely got her cake! And it's the crunchy sort which she likes!
And Damian let E&E eat it (it doesn't look like he ate any himself) while being all flustered and annoyed. He's a good kid, deep down
A reference to the macaron arc! Lots of references to so-called Damianya (aka school) chapters, with 1) Bill + dodgeball, 2) George and the macarons, 3) Handkerchief + cake (+ Bond's kibble which was a gag in the handkerchief chapter)
Anya offers dog food to Damian. This is hilarious because she sounds so innocent and genuine, but Damian is furious.
"Cecil hall kids sure are noisy" Whoops, even Wald hall knows about Cecil's reputation. Damian and Anya probably argue every day at school. They're going to be Those Two
It's interesting to see that Anya isn't reading minds this chapter. She didn't realize Damian got cake for her and she didn't seem to have realised the driver was a terrorist? Missing Damian's thoughts is normal because it was a fleeting thought, but the terrorist was probably concentrating on the hijacking for like, the entire bus ride. Anya, you good?
And then the bus is hijacked. Woo! Action! Drama! Wow!
I'm super excited for this arc because of how much potential it as. It's giving me the vibes of Cruise Arc but with the Eden kids. It also feels like a fanfic to me, particularly my fic when Anya saves Damian from an assassination lol. Here's a dump of my thoughts:
Damian might be a main target. We know about his dad and his influence in the political sphere. Bill says "chairman's son Damian", which might be a nod to the fact. The terrorist guy also mentions "as the nation's elite, you've probably figured out what's happening", and Damian is an elite among the elite
This will focus on the subplot of Damian and Anya's friendship. As I said earlier, this chapter has multiple references to past Damianya chapters. There's also the theme of friendship going on currently, with Loid telling Anya to treasure her friends. Anya is also desperate to go on with Plan B because she feels threatened by her mom befriending Melinda. And Damian indeed buys Anya cake even if he never agreed to it in the first place lol, showing a bit of development. Anya also fantasizes about purposefully getting Damian into trouble and saving him, and now the entire bus is in trouble (and Anya can save him maybe?). So maybe we'll have scenes of Anya saving Damian (furthering his debt to her, which is mentioned in the chapter) or Damian saving Anya (paying her back since he never got to give her cake)
The adults might come in too. The possibilities:
Yuri, as I mentioned earlier, might be one because the SSS knows about this. I know this is a stretch but we might get Demetrius debut with Yuri (or after this arc). In a previous post I noted that the Forgers and Desmonds meet in pairs of fathers, mothers, and children. Demetrius is Damian's brother and Yuri is Yor's brother, so maybe the brothers might be a pair?
Yor was previously involved with the Red Circus, and I can see her coming back to tie up loose ends. And possibly going batshit because Anya is in danger. This might end up with Yor meeting Damian, which I think certainly makes sense after the Yorlinda chapters and Yor acting shocked that Melinda doesn't seem to care much about Damian.
Twilight would be interesting because of his dynamic with Damian. I analyzed the panels during the Twilight-Donovan face-off and you can just see Damian is standing with Twilight instead of his actual father. They get along fine and I think Damian likes Loid well enough.
Obviously, all three will have to conceal their identity from Anya (and the other Eden kids), so we might get one-sided interactions (such as Twilight saving Damian but Damian thinking he's just been saved by a random man)
And even funnier would be to have multiple adults on the scene (for Anya) and they have to hide from each other. Iconic Thorn Princess x Twilight teamup maybe?!
Anya (and the rest) might get Stellars. This time, if she saves them, she'll have an entire bus full of witnesses, unlike the Ken drowning incident. This could drastically affect Anya's reputation at school and her relationship with Damian. We might also get the Cecil 5 (+ Bill and George since they're sitting close to them) working together, which will be fun.
I do think Damian might give up the "our classes are rivals" thing if the two halls end up bonding / working together
And since I have the brain of a fanfic author, imagine if Damian is in trouble and Anya has to save him and vice versa... this is going to be the first real danger the kids have been in
I know this is a bit chaotic and messy but this chapter is scratching the itch lol. I'm going to be insane for the duration of this arc.
I'm so excited. I cannot wait for the next few chapters <3 Endo really went all out on this one with drama, action, humor, and there's so many ways this one could go!! <3

The absolute double standard of saying Damian is more mature and doesn’t need to be change aged up when we have writers have him still treating Anya like if he was an 6 year old with a crush, lashing out at her and sometimes insulting her and treating her even worse, and it is worse because he should know better by then. Not to mention have him be openly ashamed of his feelings for her and have Anya still fall for a immature manchild like this, because it’s okay is not what he really thinks anyway :/
Alright, since I'm receiving a lot of asks on this subject, I want to preface this by saying that I haven't read a lot of Damianya fan fiction. The reason why in my previous asks I always go back to the manga is because I don't have that much experience in Damianya fan fictions and I don't want to seem like I have more knowledge on the subject than I actually do 😅
Also also for how many pet peeves you, me or anyone else might have it's important to remember that authors and artists do this for free and under no obligation, so I try to keep a "if you don't like it, don't read it" kinda vibe, or read it anyway if you want to explore a different interpretation, but keep in mind that it's ok if it doesn't align with what you have in mind. This is to say that I'm trying to answer these by just speculating my personal interpretation of Damian and Anya and their future, not to police anybody.
With that being said, from what I've seen a lot of aged up Damian and Anya are still teens, so I think it's ok if he's still embarrassed of his crush, because teens are awkward, so Damian has the right to be an awkward teen. Even if they're already adults a bit of "I can't believe I fell in love with you" can be funny, it's the classic "you're an idiot" "Yes but I'm YOUR idiot" situation. The same way I said I think Anya would still have a bit of childhood wonder I also think Damian might keep some tsundere-tendencies. I do agree that I'd like to see Damian stop lashing out to Anya and definitely not treating her worse, especially because I think he's already making progress in the manga, apologizing and dropping the act when other people aren't around, he still has work to do, but he's getting better. Tho I also think a bit of playful bickering is funny. It's even a recurring gag in the manga that their bickering is seen as normal, with the other kids, including Becky, Ewen and Emile, leaving them to go to class. Also when Damian thinks he has crossed the line in any way (even when he didn't mean it and it genuinely wasn't his fault, like when Anya told him she got a dog) he immediately apologies and tries to cheer her up. Like the way this kid cannot stand Anya being upset and crying is honestly so cute and funny, one of my favorite things about their dynamic. So in conclusion I think they would still bicker a bit, but never to be hurtful, because Damian can't really stand making her actually upset. But also, if a fic or a comic wants to explore a moment when one of them said something wrong that's also fine, because sometimes people say stuff they don't mean and writing about fictional characters doing the same is ok.
If you think my take is pretty lukewarm is because it is, I really don't want people to feel like they HAVE to write characters a certain way.

Thoughts on conformation and recreation
Going to put heavy spoilers and theory stuff under a cut but just starting off saying I liked it. I do feel negative about certain aspects but I’m 90% certain that was intended. We’re supposed to be going ‘wait a minute’ about this ending.
The action was amazing and the animation gorgeous in parts. I really like BugNoire’s design.
Overall it didn’t disappoint me which I feel is the only thing and ending shouldn’t do. You can happy, mad, sad etc. about an ending but those emotions are most of the time intentional. But if it comes with disappointment then something has gone wrong. (Excluding minor stuff)
Anyway time to get specific
I love the mystery we still have with all that happened. I think it’s concluded what needed to end and left us with questions to answer in the following two seasons.
Are we supposed to think this was a ‘good/happy’ ending?
What’s up with Gimmi?
Will Marinette tell Adrien/ will Adrien find out and how will it impact both of them?
Is it Emilie or Amelie?
Who the heck visited Lila at the end?
What’s going to happen next?
Those are the questions I see people asking and trying to answer. None of those questions feel unanswerable and it’s plenty of fodder for speculation and fics in the coming year as we wait for season 6. I do want to know whether the special is pre or post season 5 because that will definitely affect things. I can’t see the reveal happening in a special but it’s certainly something to think about.
I think what made the finale special is the many layers it has, things that at first viewing you might miss. For example I saw someone in the last hour point out Marinette quite literally had a nightmare about what would happen if she reacted harshly (aka killed that motherfucker gabe) towards Monarch. Even though Marinette is shown to be an empathetic character and would probably try to talk it out anyway if she saw victory through it, that nightmare definitely pushed her to be more trusting.
In a way it worked. I believe that Gabriel’s wish was to trade his life for Nathalie’s and be able to join Emile. Marinette’s passion sort of proved to him that there were people who cared about Adrien still around even though he’d run out of time by the time he’d realised that neither Emile or Adrien wanted this.
He’s still a villain, he died a villain but that minor change of heart (as he said to Gimmi for his desire to simply read his heart) ensured Adrien would have Nathalie as a parental figure, maybe even bringing Amelie over to take more active care in her nephew and the freedom to be with Marinette, a girl who proved in Gabriel’s last moments that she would love Adrien no matter what. He’s still a villain in that his narcism demanded Marinette not to reveal the truth, remade the world to praise him for his sacrifice and probably a whole bunch of other issues that will unravel in season 6.
(In terms of him and Emile ascending, I don’t believe Gabriel got to go to ‘heaven’ or dragged Emile down to ‘hell’. He just got to be with her and got to have a peaceful death where they can be buried side by side. He isn’t getting an eternal reward for this.)
((If turns out to be Emile alive we’ll just have to see))
Whatever happened, there is obviously something wrong with this new world. It goes against all the motifs set up in previous episodes. I agree with the consensus that we are not supposed to feel entirely good about this ending. Uneasy for the future, nervous for Adrienette, curious about how it’ll unfold.
My feelings about the finale will probably change with season 6 coming out.
(Istg if when Lila-moth is taken down it’s not both Adrien and Marinette I will scream. Let them defeat her together. I get why they couldn’t be together for Gabriel, Adrien would still freak (especially with the nightmares) and he’s still under Gabriel’s control. I’d hoped they’d make it work but I think all the previous reveals/endings proved they couldn’t both take him down. Adrien would be made too fragile and Gabriel is difficult to reason with. I think the only thing that made him a little bit more able to listen to reason was because he was dying so the wish would have had to fix that too etc.)

Opening her front door, Emily screamed in excitement at the sight of her best friend. Cara had flown all the way from England to visit her. She was on the first plane she could get once she had heard about what Noah had done. The 3am facetime call from a distraught Emily had Cara re-arranging work and getting a plane as soon as she could. "Oh My God! I cant believe your finally here, Car!" Emily hugged her friend so tight. She needed this. She needed her best friend. Cara and Emily were two peas in a pod. They grew up together and knew everything about eachother. The good, embarrassing and ugly. Dumping her bags in Emily's guest room, not even bothering to unpack, Cara slumped on her sofa. "Tell me everything." Emily smiled at her. Cara hasn't changed abit and for that she was thankful. "Nothing to tell babe, I'm fine." Cara looked pointedly at her best friend and Emily could feel her eyes prickling under her knowing gaze. "Are you trying to convince me or yourself?" Emily shook her head, trying her best at a smile. "No really, I'm good, honestly." The crack in her voice when she said it gave her away immediately. That was it. The floodgates opened and the tears came quick and fast. Cara pulled her close straight away as she sobbed into her friends chest. Sobbs turned in to borderline screams as all the hurt burst out of Emily. She had No one to turn to before Cara arrived. She hasn't been in Charming long so she had no close friends to turn to. She had friends from work ofcourse but none as close as Cara. "I-i just d-don't know what I did W-wrong-" she hiccupped trying to gain control of herself. "No." Cara snapped as she forced Emily to look up. "Fuck that. Fuck you for even allowing yourself to think that. That bastard is wrong. Cheating is the lowest of the low Em. To bring her home, invade YOUR personal space, your home. That disrespect is massive." Holding her face, Cara kissed her friends forehead. "Your amazing. And it's his fucking loss. I swear when i see him im gonna stomp on his balls." Emily smiled at her friend, despite the fresh tears flowing down her face. A knock on the door interrupted their moment. "I'll get it, you go unpack and get settled." Cara hugged her tight one last time before heading to her room. Emily wiped her eyes and quickly ran her hands through her wild hair, trying to make herself look less crazy. It was probably only the postman but she didn't want to open the door looking a state. She worked out very quickly gossip travelled fast in this town and she didn't want people knowing how much Noah had hurt her.
"Jax?" Confusion was clear in her voice as she opened her door. Worry crossed his face as soon as his eyes settled on her. Stepping forward, unable to stop himself he grabbed her face gently thumbs rubbing under her puffy eyes. "What's happened? Is something wrong?" Emily couldn't help but smile at his concern. "I'm fine." It was the same routine. Mask back on. Keep moving forward, put it away at the back of your brain. Jax clearly didn't believe her but didn't push it. "I've brought your Tupperware back from the other night." Unzipping his jacket he pulled the little blue lunchbag she had filled for him and handed it over. With a genuine smile she stepped back from the door way and let him come in. Shutting the door behind him, he followed her into the kitchen. "You didn't have to go out of your way to bring this back but thank you." Jax flashed her a smile as he leaned back against the counter. "Don't worry darlin' I was out this way anyway." A lie. But she didn't need to know that. Before Emily could say anything, Cara came bounding into the kitchen not noticing the new arrival. " So pick red or blue because I'm getting you laid tonight. Best way to get over a lad is get under another one is what they say isn't it?" Fiddling with the lacy underwear sets in her hand Cara didn't bother to look up. If she had she would've seen a bright red Emily and a smirking Jaxon Teller. "Car-" Emily tried to stop her ramblings but was cut off. " Not sure about the lace on this one, might be abit too much. You still have your nipple piercings in don't ya? Might have to avoid the lace. We want you rolling in pleasure not pain if you accidentally rip a titty off-" that was it. She couldn't stand it anymore. "CARA!" Emily screamed now tomato red. Looking up from the underware, Cara now spotted the god that was Jaxon Teller leaning against her friends counter, clearly enjoying this alittle too much. "Oh hello! I'm Cara, her best friend." Cara had no shame but Emily? Embarrassed was an understatement. "So what are the bars like in this town? We need young sexy men!" Emily covered her face with her hands at the boldness of her best friend. "Im not going drinking I'm getting inked tomorrow! You however have your fill! Charming is lacking in the sexy department though." Apart from Jaxon Teller, Emily mentally commented. "How about you guys come to the clubhouse tonight? There's always a party there. It'll make me feel better, you'll be safe there. Don't trust the bars in town all that much." The reluctance on Emily's face was obvious. Throwing his arm around her shoulders, Jax gave her a wink. "He won't be there darlin' I'll make sure. Also your friend wants Sexy men, where better to take her than the club house? We're the best looking fuckers around!"
With the pleading look on Cara's face and the smirk on Jax's, Emily quickly caved.

Hongice week 2024 || Day 7
Chapter 7: Final
Chapters: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Human AU
Warning: Mention of NSFW
--------------------------
It was Saturday morning, the Asian family was having breakfast. They were all talking, but Li wasn't paying attention.
“What are your plans for today?” asked their mother.
“I wanted to take my brothers to karaoke, to cheer Li up. He's been very depressed," said Yao.
“It's OK, Li's situation is worrying," their mother replied.
“Did you hear that Li?” Yong Soo said, touching Li with his elbow, "We're going to karaoke”
“Wait, what?” Li reacted, realising what was going on.
“We're going to karaoke, pay attention," replied Yong Soo.
“Well, have fun”
“You too” said Mei.
“Why? I don't want to go”
“To make you feel better. You've been depressed lately,” added Mei.
“I don't want to sing”
“Come on Li,” Yao interjected, “Food's on me”.
“...well," said Li unconvinced.
………………………………………………….
When Li and his siblings arrived at the karaoke, Li was surprised to see Emil there, accompanied by Mathias and Lukas.
“Emil?”
“Li?” Emil was equally surprised.
“What a coincidence," said Li rather cheerfully.
“Not exactly," said Yong Soo.
“I knew how much you missed Li," said Lukas turning to Emil, "so I called Mathias”
“And I texted Yao to meet again," added Mathias.
“So we agreed to meet here and decided to surprise you," said Yao.
“Thank you very much," said Emil smiling.
“Thank you," said Li gratefully.
Emil and Li hugged each other tightly and kissed for a minute.
“I'm glad to know that you still love me," said Emil.
“Of course I love you. I will always love you”
“Me too”
“How about singing a duet for us?” said Mei.
“Yes! To share an experience together,” added Mathias.
“I don't know, I have stage fright,” said Emil.
“Come on Emil,” said Li to encourage Emil, “Besides we probably won't do something together again for a long time”
“OK, but I'm only doing it for you,” he said referring to Li, “and I don't want anyone to laugh at me. It's my first time”
They all nodded, although Emil knew Mathias and Lukas wouldn't laugh at him anyway.
“What do you want to sing?” asked Li.
“...do you know the song "I don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith?”
“Yeah, I know it. It's a good one”
That said, Li and Emil went on stage and sang the song as a duet. Li sang the first verse, Emil joined him during the chorus. During the second verse Li fell silent, allowing Emil to sing it alone; Emil noticed this, but did not want to make a fool of himself by remaining silent, so he continued. Afterwards, the two sang the rest of the song together. At the end of the song, they both received applause from the rest.
“Well, I enjoyed it," said Emil smiling, which surprised Lukas and Mathias, as he doesn't smile often.
“Yeah, me too”
“Hey,” said Mathias, “We have a lot of time, we can sing more songs and then we can go to other places”
That said, the whole group stayed for an hour at the karaoke and then went to an amusement park, where they split into groups. Yao, Yong Soo and Mei went their way, Mathias, Lukas went their way, and Li and Emil went their way. This allowed Li and Emil to spend time together as a couple: they went to attractions such as the Ferris wheel and the tunnel of love. Afterwards they both went for candyfloss and sat down together to chat; first they caught up with each other, then they decided to change the subject.
“Do you think we can have a long-distance relationship?” said Emil.
“We could try, I don't think it will turn out bad if we try hard... I just hope it doesn't turn out bad like in Romeo and Juliet”
“Maybe it shouldn't end like that... you know, I had a dream that we were figure skaters, our families were at odds, but we defied your parents and ended up together, but when we wanted to talk to our parents I woke up. We were together anyway despite your parents' complaints”
“Your dream was better than mine. I dreamt a sort of Romeo and Juliet in the middle ages, which ended tragically... I can't believe that in your dream we defied my parents”
“Yes, we did, and when I woke up I wondered if it might be possible for us to be together again”
“Maybe so," said Li.
………………………………………………………………..
The next morning, the table was ready for breakfast. The whole family was there, or almost the whole family, only Emil was missing. His mother went upstairs to wake him up, but she got a shock...
“Emil is not here!”
Emil's dad got scared and ran upstairs, Lukas came up after him.
When they saw this, both parents decided to get ready to go out and look for him. Lukas stayed behind in case Emil came back. As soon as they left, Lukas called Emil to ask where he was.
“Hello”
“Emil, where are you? Mom and dad are worried, they're out looking for you”
“I'm sorry Lukas, but I can't reveal my location. I'll just tell you that this is the only way that Li and I can be together”
“Of course not, there must be another way. You just have to think for a while”
“Don't you think we have already looked for another way to be together? This is the only solution we could find”
“Please Emil, come home. Here we will help you to think of something”
“...I'll think about it,” saying this, Emil hung up.
Lukas was worried about his brother; he hoped that he would consider it and come home.
………………………………………………………….
At Li's house, his family was also worried, as Li was missing. His parents went out to look for him anyway, while Yao, Yong Soo and Mei stayed behind.
“I think Li ran away with Emil to start a new life somewhere else," said Mei.
“I'd say you got that from one of your romantic movies, but I think you're right, why else would he run away?” added Yong Soo.
“We have to find out where he is," said Yao, upset, "He could be somewhere dangerous”
“So that mom and dad can catch him? Better not," said Yong Soo.
“I didn't say anything about ratting him out; I just want to know where he is so I can help him”
Then Yao took out his phone and called Li.
………………………………………………….
“Calm down Yao, I'm fine”
“Yes, but where are you?”
“I'm not in a dangerous place; do you think I'm an idiot?”
“I know you're not, but I won't calm down if you don't tell me”
“Well, I'll just tell you that we're safe. Bye, I have to go”
“Don't hang... - Li hung up before Yao finished the sentence.
“Li, I'm not entirely sure this is a good idea," said Emil uncertainly.
“You'll see that it is”
“I have a feeling they're going to find us quickly”
“I don't think so. Everything is going according to plan; we just don't have to tell anyone where we are”
“The plan isn't even well thought out, you improvised it yesterday and I don't know how you convinced me”
“It's just that you love me and you didn't want us to stay apart”
“Well, yes, and now what's next?”
…………………………………………….
Their parents searched all day, their siblings tried to call them again, but they did not answer. Both families were worried. Emil's parents went to the police headquarters to speak to the chief:
“I'm sorry, but a person cannot be considered missing until 24 hours have passed,” the chief told them.
“We're talking about a minor! What if something bad happens to him in the course of the night?” Emil's father replied, upset.
“It's the law”
“Please help us, officer," pleaded Emil's mother.
“I can't…” she heard a knock on the door, “Come in”.
“Excuse me, officer," said the receptionist opening the door, "but there's a couple who insist on talking to you”
“Yes, send them in. We're done here”
The receptionist let the couple in, who were Li's parents.
“Officer, we are desperate, our son Li is missing," said Li's mother in despair. Emil's parents heard that as they walked out, which got them thinking.
…………………………………………….
Li's parents were leaving the headquarters in annoyance and Emil's parents intercepted them:
“Is your son missing too?” asked Emil's mother.
“Yes," said Li's father in surprise, "Yours too?”
“Yes, and we think the boys might be together," replied Emil's father. Li's parents realised that it was true.
“I know we have our differences, but we should work together to find the boys, since the police won’t help us”
Li's parents hesitated for a moment, but in the end, they agreed.
…………………………………………………
Li and Emil's parents spread out in different parts of the city to search for their sons, and asked their closest friends to help them cover more ground, including Mathias' parents. Hours passed and there was no sign until Mathias' father arrived at a gas station on the outskirts of town, where one of the employees told him he had seen Li and Emil:
“Yes, I remember them. They came here; they asked me to look after their bikes while they went into the store for food”
“And did you see where they went when they left?”
“That way," he said pointing to the road, implying that they were fleeing the city.
“Thank you very much”
Afterwards, Mathias' father told the others.
……………………………………………………….
Li and Emil are on the road walking, as they got tired of cycling. They found a sign that said the nearest town was 20 km away.
“Li, I still don't think it's a good idea”
“Of course it is. We're pretty far away”
“Yeah, but at this rate we'll get to the next town by night”
“Well, all right. It wasn't a good idea, but what do we do about our parents? They'll surely separate us forever”
Emil was sad to remember that.
“I'm sorry Emil, I just wanted to be with you, even if it meant running away from home, moving to another town and starting a new life”
“Do you know why I followed you even though your plan is absurd? Because I love you and I would do anything to be with you”
They hugged each other and decided to go ahead with their plan. They kept walking until a car approached that Li recognised immediately, it was his father's car.
“Emil, I think they found us. Let's go"
As the two were about to get on their bikes to go, the car parked in front of them. Afterwards, Li and Emil's moms came out, who were upset and ordered them to get in the car. They, knowing that they already were in too much trouble, decided to get in without arguing. In the car, their parents scolded them:
“What were you thinking boys, we were very worried!” said Emil's mother.
“I'm sorry mom,” said Emil apologetically.
“That's not enough! They deserve to be grounded,” said Li's mom, “Li, you are forbidden to talk to that boy again. We'll make sure you’ll lose all contact with him”
“That's enough, Mom!” said Li on the verge of tears, “It's been enough punishment being away from him for a year! That's why we ran away! Because we don't want to be separated for another minute!”
“That boy is a bad influence on you!”
“Wait a minute! My son is not a bad influence!” said Emil's mother.
“Yes, mom! Emil is not bad! Besides...! I was the one who incited him to run away,” Li said that last part in embarrassment.
“What?”
“Yes, this was all my idea. Emil is not to blame, just for loving me too much to follow me... But mom, I don't want to be separated from Emil again”
“I love Li too," said Emil, "I love him very much, it was his idea to escape, but I followed him because I don't want to be separated from him again either”
“...if we let them get back together, they would do bad things at night again," said Li's mother.
“We didn't do anything wrong that night. I just went to sleep at his house”
“Yeah, plus we promised Lukas we wouldn't do that”
“What? Lukas already knew?” said Emil's mother in surprise.
.................................................................
Both families arrived at Emil's house, consulted with Lukas about what had happened and he told them what had happened, and Li and Emil confessed that they had already had sex before what had happened with Lukas. Li's parents realised that Li and Emil were willing to give up these practices in order not to be separated. After hours of discussion, Li and Emil's parents decided that they would no longer separate them, but that they would be punished for running away. Li and Emil had their phones taken away for a month; however, Li returned to the same school as Emil so they could see each other more often. They did not resume sexual activity until after school.
……………………………………………………..
Their relationship lasted for a long time. They both entered the same university and after graduating they got married. Today, they live in a house in the suburbs, where they live a quiet life with their children.
The end
@hongiceweek Sorry, I'm late

Aight hi so I’m back with a random mini-fic of a new couple I’m obsessed with lol hope u enjoy (kinda inspired by @acidspies !)
Starlight (idk I’m not good with titles) aged up! Damian x Anya
(They’re 16 in this)
Summary: Anya and Damian’s get lost in the woods but thanks to Damian they end up in an unexpected place…
I wrote this pretty late and on a caffeine high so ignore any mistakes I’ll edit it later
A small yelp from behind made Damian stop in his tracks and sigh, turning around.
Behind him, in a pile on the floor was the one and only- Anya Forger. She sheepishly smiled at him, sticking her tongue out.
“Sorry! Didn’t see that root over there!” Anya said, making Damian roll his eyes.
“Seriously? This is the eight time already, you shrimp. Not only are we lost in the middle of nowhere- but you’re also hindering our process by tripping over every little thing. Do your eyes not work or something?!”
Anya scoffed, sitting up. “My eyes work fine sy-on boy. It’s not my fault there are roots everywhere. Besides, I wasn’t the one who got us lost!”
Damian groaned. “That’s because you were the one who was leading us around in circles, remember?”
“Well who was the one who suggested going deeper into the woods huh?”
“I wasn’t the one that chose the impossible to find bird! We weren’t going to find it near the school grounds!”
Anya glared at Damian.
It was times like these when she was close to using the techniques her mother had taught her in her training sessions, along with her father. But she decided that for the sake of plan B, she would try and keep calm.
A few days ago, in science class they had been assigned to do a small research paper on some species found around the Eden grounds- and to take a picture of it. To Damian’s dismay, he had been paired up with smile girl (thanks to Loid’s small interference) to do an assignment that was worth almost half his grade.
Damian had obviously felt conflicted- but he didn’t ask the professor for a change of partners -not because he liked her, but because he didn’t want to inconvenience the teacher-
After a while of trying to look for their assigned species (some sort of bird) and not finding anything, Damian suggested going deeper into the woods- which eventually lead to their current predicament.
Damian, apparently having forgotten he was almost an adult already, stomped his foot, gripping the camera hanging from his neck tight.
“Seriously! I should have asked Emile to trade places with me. I can’t believe I got stuck with such an idiot for this- I wish we’d never gotten paired up! You just can’t seem to be useful for anything!” He yelled.
Damian quickly regretted the words as they came out from his mouth. He looked at Anya, trying to see her reaction.
Was she mad? Of course she should be- he just insulted her for something that technically wasn’t her fault. God he was such an idiot. He just got too carried away- but the thoughts of what his father might say if he saw his science grade drop like that- even if it might be the most he’s said to him in his whole life he still didn’t want to disappoint him. He couldn’t.
Anya blinked rapidly up at Damian and bit her lip, fiddling with her thumbs.
“I’m sorry sy-on boy. I know I’m being a bother.”
Damian quickly looked at her, mouth agape.
She continued, “It was my fault for saying I knew the way and then leading us in circles like that. If we manage to get out of here, I’ll ask the professor if we can work separately. I don’t want your grade to be affected by me…”
Damian felt a small pang in his heart.
No, no this wasn’t what he wanted.
Sure- Anya wasn’t exactly…the ideal partner for this, but he suddenly just…didn’t care. He wanted to be with Anya, science grade be dammed.
Damian pressed his lips together in a straight line, and clenched one of his hands into a fist- while rubbing the other one on his shirt and offering it to Anya.
She looked up at him, a confused expression on her face.
Damian cleared his throat, with a small blush on his face. “Get up dummy. I didn’t- I wasn’t- I just…I don’t want to change partners. I’m…I’m good with you I guess…”
Anya’s eyes widened, and she smiled brightly at him. “R-really?!” She asked, excitedly. Damian felt his face heat up even more, and he looked to his side.
“Yes, really! Now get up before I change my mind and leave you here to find your way back all by yourself!”
Anya chuckled and took his hand, getting up from the floor and cleaning her dirty knees.
Damian let out a tch at the sight.
Once she was done Anya smiled brightly at him.
“You don’t have to look so happy you…dork.” He said.
She looks really cute though…
“Huh?” Anya cocked her head to the side.
“What?” Damian asked, but then shook his head. “Nevermind. We need to figure out a way to get back before it gets dark.” He looked around the forest.
The sun was setting, and it covered the place in an orange hue.
As Anya focused on trying to read someone’s mind (if they were near she could go to them and ask for help!) Damian suddenly let out a small cheer.
He smiled triumphantly and pointed to a small, white flower all alone, almost on top of a rock.
“I’ve seen that flower before- a while ago but it’s the same one, I’m sure of it! That’s the white lily we say while we were adventuring with Mr. Green! I remember because it was so strange to see it in such a weird place!”
Anya clapped her hands. “That means you know where we are! We can go back to school!”
“Er- well not- not exactly.” Damian rubbed the back of his neck. “I can’t get us back to Eden like this…oh! But I know somewhere else we can go.”
Damian remembered a small station nearby where they had stopped by to catch their breath after falling to the river. Mr. Green told them that if they got lost in the forest to try and find one of them -for there were plenty spread across the place- and press the emergency button for them to find them and bring them back to Eden.
However…
Damian recalled that if he kept going forward he’d end up in Stella Lake.
He glanced at Anya, who looked at him with an expectant look in her eyes, and he bit his lip.
“Well I can…I think I can get us somewhere they can find us at least. There’s the emergency station but…”
“But?” Anya asked.
Damian felt a flush start to form on his cheeks. “Well I…I want to go somewhere else first. To take you…well….” He mumbled, trying to not stumble over his words.
He finally groaned and looked up to the sky, exasperated.
“I guess to sort of apologize for my outburst before I want to make up for it by taking you somewhere.”
Anya smiled brightly. “Oh! Like a date?”
Damian almost choked on air at this, and he looked at Anya, eyes wide and face red.
“A-a d-d-DATE?!” He screamed. “N-no! Of course not I- I would never- Why would I- this isn’t a date! This is just- I just- a-as a Demond I need to take responsibility for my actions! Yeah- that’s it! So that’s why- don’t go making up stupid shit all of a sudden.”
Anya giggled, leaning closer to Damian, a mischievous smile on her face.
“Aw and here I got my hopes up!”
Damian became even redder, and he turned around, shaking his head.
“S-shut up! Just come with me and stop saying weird things, or else I won’t take you there anymore!” He said, quickly walking away from her.
Anya laughed and ran up to his side. “All right, all right I’ll stop.”
However, Anya couldn’t stop smiling at the sight of a reddened Damian.
…..
Eventually the sky turned dark, and after minutes of walking Damian and Anya finally made it to their destination.
Damian led Anya towards the edge of the lake and smiled.
“Welcome to Stella Lake! Beautiful isn’t it?” He said, gesturing towards it.
Anya gasped and walked up to the edge, looking at it and then at Damian.
“Sy-on boy- this is amazing!” She said.
Damian felt a swell of pride and he smirked. “I know. I told you I would make up for it with something amazing on the way here didn’t I?”
Anya nodded. “Yes! But I didn’t think it’d be this…this gorgeous!” She said, looking up at the sky full of stars, the moon shining brightly.
Damian stared at the sight, and he felt a sudden pain in his chest.
It was something he felt often whenever he was near Anya. Like he couldn’t breathe- and like his heart was about to beat out of him.
You’re the gorgeous one….
He thought.
Anya squealed and turned to look at him, eyes widened. Her face suddenly turned red.
Damian, startled by her expression raised a brow.
“What?”
“N-nothing!” She said quickly, and turned to look at the sky once more.
Damian shrugged and glanced around the place.
The water reflected the sky, looking as if it was right there below them.
You know…this is a really romantic place, isn’t it? I can imagine someone coming over here to confess their feelings for someone…wait…
Damian glanced at Anya.
What if she thinks that’s what I’m doing? This is a strange place to bring a…a…whatever she is.
But…a confession of…love…
His eyes widened.
Love.
Anya stood straighter, but she kept looking at the lake, ears red.
Could it be that I…I.
Damian placed a hand on his mouth.
No it can’t be…with her of all people…I can’t…but…
Damian took a step towards Anya, who gulped and kept her eyes fixed on the water.
I’m…in…
“Anya.” He whispered.
His voice sent shivers up her spine, but Anya kept her gaze forward.
Damian lifted his hand, as if to reach out.
Could it be that I, Damian Desmond…am in lo…with her? Why out of all people- I mean- she punched me the first time we met…and she’s just- she’s so annoying! She’s always smiling and blurting out such random stuff…she’s also stubborn as a mule, and she’s always so clingy! I can’t like her!
But deep down, Damian knew, he knew he was lying. He didn’t know when it happened- probably when she punched him in the face, which was even worse- but from the very beginning he knew he had a different relationship with Anya compared to the rest of his peers.
Anya was the first person to ever challenge him. She didn’t suck up to him like the others- and while her attempts to get him to invite her over to his house were…strange to say the least, she didn’t seem to have any ulterior motives.
Anya was there for him during his worst times- and she put up with every insult and dig he threw at her.
She was amazing.
And Damian had known that from the very beginning, Anya Forger had made him fall for her, and fall hard.
He gulped, clenching his fist.
The realization had certainly baffled him…but now he knew how he felt he didn’t want to waste any time.
Without thinking of any of the consequences, or what he would do if Anya rejected him, he just blurted out the first words that came to his mouth.
“I love y-”
“OH DAMIAN LOOK!”
Damian flinched and turned to see what Anya was screaming at.
Behind them, perched on a branch was none other than…the bird from their assignment!
“Quickly- we need to take a picture!” Damian said, taking his camera and taking as many pictures as he could.
Anya also raised her camera- and after a few minutes the bird was done with its photo shoot and flew away.
Anya turned to Damian once they finished.
“So what were you saying?” She asked.
Damian flushed and cleared his throat.
“Oh- that- well…I…I lo-”
“Ah there you kids are!“ a voice called out from behind the trees.
Both kids looked back to see Mr. Green and Mr. Henderson coming towards them.
“I have to say kids, looking for you is getting pretty tiresome.” Mr. Henderson said.
Both Anya and Damian blushed, and mumbled their apologies.
Mr. Green laughed and gently hit Damian in the back. “Ha! It’s alright, just remember to stay in the emergency stations next time!”
Damian looked at him shocked. “Next time?! Who says there’ll be a next time?!”
Mr. Green chuckled and motioned behind hi. “Anyway, your parents have been worried sick Miss Forger. Let’s go back to Eden, shall we?”
Anya nodded and quickly followed behind Mr. Green, while Mr. Henderson looked at Damian, as if criticizing him.
“What?” Damian asked.
Mr. Henderson shook his head.
“Nothing Mr. Desmond, just thinking.” He spun around to leave and walk behind Mr. Green and Anya but then turned his head and looked at Damian.
“I have to say Mr. Desmond- bringing a lady alone to the Stella Lake where no one is around is not, in fact, elegant. Although I shall give you this- the view was certainly a good idea. Just make sure next time it isn’t at night, in the middle of nowhere. You know what happens to the students caught in…compromising situations…”
He said, and with that he left.
Damian raised a brow before coughing violently, finally understanding at the meaning behind the words.
“N-no it wasn’t like that Mr. Henderson! I promise it was just- we were just looking at the lake!”
Damian kept saying, following the group towards school.
However he turned around once more too look at the lake, and then at Anya.
I promise…
He thought.
I promise next time I’m here, I will be honest and say what I’m feeling. I’ll do it!
And with that, he ignored Anya’s questioning stare and followed them all to the school grounds.

Like every other fandom I’m in, I thought it would be fun to randomize Miraculous Ladybug and have fun with the characters. Imagine my surprise when LILA ROSSI was generated for the Ladybug Miraculous with Alya as her Chat. I actually drew these guys last year, and decided to redesign them only recently- Lila’s costume takes a lot of inspiration from Venice Carnival fashion, while Alya’s takes inspiration from Majestia as well as loose inspiration from Martinique headscarves.
The story I came up with is that Fu lost all the Miraculi except the Black Cat and Turtle. Tikki tried to find help, but she was captured by a well meaning young woman. Tikki sealed herself in her Miraculous in her panic, and the woman used them to become a hero and protect her community. She passed it on to her daughter, who passed it to hers, and so on until eventually Lila Rossi received it.
Meanwhile, Gabriel and Emile Agreste found the rest of the Miraculi and decided to use and study them, unaware that the Peacock was broken. Emile slipped into a coma and Gabriel was so heartbroken that he admitted her to a hospital and gave up the Miraculi and his research to his business partner, Tomoe Tsurugi, in the hopes that she would manage to locate the Black Cat and Ladybug Miraculi. She gave the Butterfly to her daughter, Kagami, and instructed her on how to use it. Kagami, eager to please her mother, bent to pressure.
Lila, as the new hero Signora Scarlet, fought against the ensuing Akuma. She enjoyed the attention she received, and although her mother wanted her to remain in the shadows she began to show herself more and more. Alya, meanwhile, was scouted by Fu when she helped a crowd of civilians escape from the Akuma with her quick thinking, and was given the Black Cat Miraculous so long as she used it to retrieve Signora Scarlet’s Miraculous and find out where she’s stored the others (because he believed she had stolen the rest, excluding the Butterfly)
Realizing she couldn’t keep her fanbase and her mother’s pride, Lila changed her superhero identity to Chanceuse Rouge and claimed that the new hero had stolen her Miraculous. Alya knows that the two hero’s are the same person, but not that they are both Lila, a new student and her friend.
The two heroes will work together to defeat Akumas and then immediately go back to fighting each other because this is Miraculous and I can’t remove ALL the poor communication. That being said they go through an enemy to friends arch and eventually discover each other’s identities. Also Lila goes through an arc where she learns people can and will like her if she stops lying.
I randomized every Miraculous Holder and every Akuma so I’m hoping I can keep posting these redesigns as 2023 goes on!
Edit: Part 2 with Kagami and Luka as the main villains/holders of the Butterfly and Peacock are here!

Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op 18: Adagio sostenuto – Sergei Rachmaninoff “You know what it reminds me of?” I said, patting his knee. “Debussy. With a little Emile Pandolfi zhuzh to it. 24. Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) – Backstreet Boys 25. Say My Name – Destiny’s Child 26. Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana Not only did the glovebox contain emotional support picks from childhood that didn’t remind me of my ex—Backstreet Boys’ Millennium, Destiny Child’s The Writing’s On The Wall, and Nirvana’s Nevermind, among others—but also a cannister of prerolls and ‘shrooms I’d inherited after the death of Ang’s stoner phase.
27. Still – Geto Boys I flipped the radio on and fiddled with the dial until I found something lively, loud, and safe from memories of him: Geto Boys rapping about picking out our victims when the time is right—

Chapter 14 - Adrenaline
31. By the Time I Get to Phoenix – Dorothy Ashby Dorothy Ashby’s harp plinked in the background.

34. Complicated – Avril Lavigne Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated” played quietly. I resisted the urge to turn the dial.
35. Doctor Jazz – Jelly Roll Morton Truth was, I fell in love with Edward. Period. Not just the trivialities, like the song he loved to drive to (Jelly Roll Morton’s “Doctor Jazz”), the books he loved to read aloud to me in the meadow (Marcel Proust’s Swann’s Way), or the movies we watched on rainy days (Shakespeare adaptations, mostly).
Chapter 24 - Deviations
36. Voice of the Soul - Death “Death is okay,” Edward answered without enthusiasm. “Get real. Death is awesome.” “As if you would know?” “As if you would know,” I retorted. I pulled it out from the Pre-Owned bin. “Look at this. Tell me this album cover doesn’t scream ‘expertly curated collection of badass metal ballads’.”
37. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds – The Beatles Posters covered the store, from The Beatles’ Sergeant Pepper’s to handmade CDs ~ Buy 2 Get 1 Free! signs.

39. Meditation, Op. 42, No. 1 – Tchaikovsky, Leonid Kogan “Okay. Are we done casing the joint or what? Do they have it?” “At the front—under lock and key. Now the issue becomes a matter of price.” “Soviet violinist dude has a price?” “A steep one,” said Edward, “and warranted, being among one of the greatest violinist 'dudes' of the twentieth century.”
40. They Can’t Take That Away From Me – Frank Sinatra “We may never never meet again, on that bumpy rooooaaaaad to love.” “How can you be so casual about it?” “Still, I'll always, always keep the memory of…” He spun me around; my sopping shoes squished. “The way you hold your knife, doo-doo-doo doo doo-doo…”
Chapter 25 - Fate
41. Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door – Guns N’ Roses “I’m not concussed.” To prove it, I rattled off the date, the sitting president, and the names of all the guys in Guns N’ Roses.
Chapter 27 - Volterra
42. Orfeo ed Euridice, Wq 30: Dance of the Furies Over the machine’s growl, I could feel the pulse of the frantic string instruments of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in my seat—Alice’s unsuccessful attempt at getting me to calm the fuck down.
Chapter 28 - Verdict
43. Maramao perche sei morto* – Trio Lescano (*NOTE: not referenced by name) Music burst from behind the thick antechamber doors, some upbeat Italian swing music on vinyl that sounded straight out of the 1940s.
44. As Time Goes By – Billie Holiday Buoyant plinking piano notes of Billie Holiday’s “As Time Goes By” spilled down the long hallway, filling the somber, imposing space with life.
45. You’re as Pretty as a Picture – Al Bowlly A female server flashed me a dazzling smile, offering her tray of fancy desserts. Some upbeat Al Bowlly song pulsed in the background. Like a statue reanimated after a broken spell, Edward bared his fangs at the enemy.
46. What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong We rose above the murder and death, but “What a Wonderful World” still followed us over the tinny speakers.
21:32
47. The Devil Went Down to Georgia – The Charlie Daniels Band* (*NOTE: not referenced by name) "I happen to know the devil holds fiddle battles in exchange for souls."
Chapter 31 - Postmortem
48. Bein’ Green – Van Morrison Leah stared at the portable speaker playing Van Morrison’s “Bein’ Green”, one of Harry’s favorite songs.
49. Bring It On Home – Lou Rawls Lou Rawls played in the background. I choked on a chuckle remembering the way Harry used to dance in that lame dad way of his—the pumping of his arms, the slow shoulder shimmy, the hip bump he’d do to Sue to make her giggle…
EPILOGUE: PRELUDE
50. Vermilion, Pt. 2 – Slipknot

Firecracker
A Kalpas x Reader one shot, the link goes to the whole book, but the chapter is below the cut!
Hypothetically, you and Kalpas had been dating for a few months now. You say ‘hypothetically’ because really there was no difference between how he treated you compared to anyone else. His friends Sakura and Emile received the same rude comments laced with concern that you did, and his enemies just got the rude part.
Going into this relationship, you weren’t expecting anything spectacular; the only thing Kalpas went over the top for was destruction & violence. Still, you had hoped there would be some change between the two of you. Maybe the occasional hug, or maybe he would spend some free time with you instead of the training holograms. At the very least, you thought he’d let you use a term of endearment, but pet names were firmly on his shit list.
The first time you tried calling him ‘love,’ he bluntly told you he thought that was stupid. Kalpas already had a name, why would you give him one? It was just another one of those things couples did that he couldn’t see the point of. You wanted to ask what he did see the point of in a relationship, but you had a feeling his answer wasn’t something you wanted to hear. ‘Sugar, honey, pumpkin’? Absolutely not. ‘Dearest, beloved, sweetheart’? You were lucky if you only got a glare.
You only had to ask Kalpas to spend more time together once, and he was on it. What had been only your room, was now as much yours as it was his, he was the last person to see you off on a mission, and the first to welcome you back. While he may not initiate PDA, he made it clear he didn’t care what others thought and was comfortable so long as you were. The only thing that didn’t change was the strict use of only his name and nothing else. It was actually on accident when you finally found a term of endearment that met Kalpas’ high standards.
“Calm down firecracker,” you’d said, fully expecting your words to have the opposite effect. Kalpas’ tirade stopped, and for half a second, you thought his fury would turn to you next, but it never happened. All he did was scoff and walk out of the room, leaving you and Sakura behind and very confused. Throughout the rest of the day, the moment ran through your head, and you wondered if you’d somehow crossed a line. Unsurprisingly, Kalpas was very vocal about being irritated so you found it hard ot believe he was simply upset about you calling him 'firecracker.'
By the time you were heading to your quarters for the night, you were half convinced you’d be sleeping alone. All your worrying was for naught; when you opened the door, Kalpas was already there, mask off, eating the dinner he’d stolen from the canteen downstairs. Even more surprising, the only thing he was mad about was the fact that you’d returned to using his name.
At first, you didn’t get it. Why was he pouting? You’d never seen Kalpas make that face before, and your confusion didn’t seem to be helping. Over the course of dinner, his pout turned into a scowl that would appear at seemingly random intervals until you finally gave up and asked.
“What’s bothering you?” you spoke through a sigh, though your intentions were genuine.
“Why are you using my name?” He spoke like it was a threat, but you’d gotten so used to his dramatic tendencies, you didn’t even bat an eye.
“Because it’s your name.”
“You didn’t use it this morning.” Kalpas would sound like a petulant child if he wasn’t on the verge of growling, and you realized this must really be frustrating him.
“You mean when I called you firecracker?” You were met with silence. “Do you want me to use it, or are you telling me to stop?”
“Do I need to spell it out?”
“If you want me to understand, yeah.” Instead of being in any way helpful, Kalpas stood from the table, forcing you to follow him if you wanted an explanation. “Kalpas—” you were met with a fiery glare. “…firecracker?” And now he's fine, walking away like you were playing some sort of red-light green-light with pet names. “You could just tell me these things you know?” Another glare had you taking your words back with an eye roll. “Never mind…”
The next name to earn approval was ‘little flame.’ You’d said it when he was slow getting out of bed one morning, and when the room got hot, you expected him to break the silence with yelling. No such thing came, and when Kalpas got closer to you, it became apparent he was merely blushing. That morning your shower was extra warm, and you found that if you called him ‘little flame,’ your boyfriend would actually sort of listen to you.
After that, he became ‘decimation’ when he proudly announced his signet title. It was a name you preferred to use in private, or at least somewhere Elysia couldn’t hear—which was pretty much exclusively your quarters.
Names like ‘bane of my existence,’ or ‘loath of my life,’ were thrown around as jokes, but unfortunately, one of your jokes stuck. You’d been taunting him after a fight and called him ‘fire boy,’ but when you waited for him to start complaining and shooting flames, you got nothing. Looking over at Kalpas, your concern turned to horror when you saw his smirk.
“No. Nonono, that was a joke. I am not calling you that!”
He laughed and walked ahead while you stood rooted in place. “Then don’t.”
The thing is, he said that, but every few days he’d give you that half-glare-half-pout certified Kalpas look, and you’d have to run through your list of pet names until he was satisfied. And every time, you’d get to the end only to give a sigh before begrudgingly calling him ‘fire boy.’ Without fail, that was the correct answer, and your boyfriend would walk off with a laugh—not because he wanted to humiliate you, but because he was proud of himself for finding a way to make you cave.
On the bright side, Kalpas was aware that his demands could be a little much, and while he had no plans to stop, he was more than willing to provide extra cuddles to compensate. You figured you could let the teasing slide a few more times…
Kalpas is an ass and I love him, what's new?

What can come from a Villain Fantasy
part 1
Emile enjoyed being a therapist who got to use his favorite cartoons to help others. However, he hadn't gotten much of a chance to really date or get to be intimate with anyone. Like many people though, he has certain fantasies about who he crushes on. Emile discovers his crush, infamous "Villain" Deceit, offers dom services. He finds himself seeking these out. Could anything else come from this?
Pairing: Emile/Janus
Word count: 4210
Warnings:  Dominant/Submissive discussions and play (will probably be the case for many chapters), teasing, light bondage, collar,
Notes: The story pairing will be Janus/Emile/Roman, but this chapter focuses on Emile/Janus
This is my first time writing something like this. I am getting some of the dom/sub stuff in here from different places including other fanfics, Tumblr, discord conversations, and other places of research. I will not be accepting requests for what they do at this time. Gift for Tulip/Vi @tulipanthousa for inspiring me to write something like this. Don't like, don't read.
I am open to others writing smut (minors dni) for this who want to, I would just like a heads-up. You can message me on here.
I have up to chapter 3 posted on my ao3 so far.
Emile had arrived at his therapist office a bit earlier that day. So as he sat he watched a morning talk show, he almost couldn't believe what he saw. They had managed to get “Deceit” on the show. A news-proclaimed “villain” who was honestly just more of a super-powered troll.
Emile didn’t know the full extent of all the abilities Deceit had, he had a feeling most people didn’t. The “villain” was just mysterious like that. From what he had gathered though, many of his abilities were tech related. Which was fitting for internet-troll related crimes.
Deceit seemed to be able to alter anything on the internet or that existed in the realm of any device. He could control almost every aspect related to technology. This included obscuring anyone’s ability to track his internet activities. His ability to go into a computer and travel cyberspace was how he had become well-known in the first place. He liked to mess with people by appearing on their computer screens. Some theorized he could change his appearance as well, based on some videos he posted. Then again, that wasn’t clear if it was just a filter he was messing with.
He didn’t physically harm anybody, and certainly didn’t come across as evil. He mainly just liked to mess with people. Nothing ever seemed to go too far with him. The way Deceit messed with people seemed to lean more towards pranks than bullying. Nothing too serious was usually messed with.
Then again, Emile was aware that he may be biased, considering he had a crush on the super-powered fellow. But well, the guy had a following for a reason. The fact that he was wanted on this talk show was telling as well. It probably helped that his powers made him difficult to track down. This was a decent defense for the hosts. For when officers inevitably tried to arrest him on the set later.
The “villain” had a bit of an old-fashioned get-up, while still wearing a mask. Not what one would expect for his powers and what he liked to do. Then again, as a troll, he was probably poking fun at being called a villain. He seemed to like to have fun like that.
He definitely put on his charm as he was interviewed though. Emile wouldn’t be surprised if many watchers were swooning at his captivation.
“So, this may be a bit of an unusual thing to bring up to a villain, but my producers insist on sharing this with you,” The host said.
to bring up to a villain. My producers insisted on sharing this with you,” The host said.
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Well, apparently a lot of fans seem to enjoy fantasizing about you-“
“Naturally.”
“But in a very specific, suggestive context. Here, I’ll show you. Although we had to be careful of what fanart we’re allowed to show, since this is a public show.” She waved to the screen behind, to show an edit of Deceit in a very nice dominatrix outfit.
Oh, Emile thought, that was surprising to see and honestly, seeing it made Emile feel a bit warm. He may have to support that fan artist online. That is if Deceit was okay with this kind of thing. Gosh. In a way, it was good to know Emile wasn’t the only one who fantasized about that kind of thing.
Deceit smirked and threw his head back in a distinguished laugh.
“Sorry sorry, I promise I’m not making fun of this fan artist. It’s quite lovely work. I love how good they made me look in that getup. No, the funny part is…I actually am a dom.”
There was quiet for a moment.
“I’m sorry?” The host asked. She gaped at Deceit, evidently thrown off by his answer.
Deceit smirked again.
“Why, I actually am a dom for hire. Most people don’t know that. My clientele is typically of the male variety though,” Deceit said with a wink to the camera.
“I have actually had some clients who have complimented me on how good I am at acting like Deceit. Ironic, no?”
“So…do you deceive your clients?”
Deceit shrugged. “I mean, I’m telling everyone about it right now. I have no shame about it. In fact, here.”
He waved a hand, and a phone number appeared on the screen. Emile could tell by the faces of some workers in the background, that had not been planned.
“Is-is that even legal?” The host asked. She looked almost panicked as she glanced at someone off to the side out of view.
Deceit scoffed. “Yes. It’s not prostitution. So, if there is anyone interested, feel free to call that number and hire me to make your dom dreams come true.”
Emile made a noise that made him glad nobody else was there. He bit his lip and quickly took a pic of the number with his phone. He stared at it for a moment, well he couldn’t exactly call it right then. But he was considering this way more than he expected he would have. Yes, he had definitely fantasized about it, and Deceit was offering a very clear way to make it a reality. But well, it was a bit to process. Fantasizing was one thing, but Emile was sure he would be a gay mess. He sighed, trying to focus on his patients' appointments for the day. He would think about it later.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t as good at acting normal as he thought he was. Most of the day went fine, but apparently, Elliot caught on that Emile was a bit distracted.
“Is everything alright, Dr. Picani?” Elliot asked. “You seem a bit distracted.”
Emile jolted a bit at that. He was a bit embarrassed to be caught by one of his patients. He did want to be there fully for them. He shouldn’t let these kinds of thoughts get to him during the workday; especially when he had patients to help.
“Oh, I’m alright. Don’t you worry about it.”
Elliot gave him a deadpan look in response.
“What was that about honest communication?” They asked with a frown.
Emile laughed a little nervously. “Oh, I’m glad you are taking in some of the things we’ve talked about. But this session isn’t about me. Don’t you worry, I am still here for you. And if you haven’t been happy with the session, we can always reschedule.”
Elliot sighed. “No, the session has been fine. I was just concerned because it’s not like you.”
“Aw, Elliot that’s sweet of you to be concerned about me, but I am okay.”
Elliot didn’t seem convinced.
“It’s nothing big. Just, some silly personal stuff we don’t need to get into. Everyone gets distracted, no? And it doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
“Yeah, I know. You’re sure?”
Emile nodded. “Yep! We don’t need to talk about my stuff. You are the patient here.”
“Okay, and what about after? As friends?”
“It’s sweet that you want to look out for your ol’ therapist here, but you don’t need to. You know the nature of our therapist-patient relationship here. In fact, maybe we should get into your need to care for everyone before yourself. Don’t think I didn’t notice you redirecting there.”
Elliot groaned in response, but they got back to the topic at hand. Emile would have preferred not to be distracted, but at least he was able to redirect. It did get him to think though, that he did need to make a decision on this soon if he didn’t want this to affect his work life.
Emile lingered in his office a bit after his sessions were over for the day. He wouldn’t say he overworked, and in fact, he usually did have good reason to stay after. Paperwork and whatnot. But, he was just comfortable in his office. It was cozy and had all his soft cartoon, plushy friends. Except for the Stitch Dot and Larry still owed him.
He glanced at the tv and recalled the show from this morning. He took a deep breath and pulled up the number on his phone and put it to his ear.
“Hello?”
“Hi, um, I’m calling about your dom services?”
“Yes?”
Emile squeaked and dropped his phone when the resounding voice came from across from him. His phone hovered over the floor, just before it could hit the ground.
Deceit tsked. Because he was suddenly right there in Emile’s office!
The phone floated up and onto Emile’s desk.
“My apologies,” Deceit drawled. “I did not mean to startle you.”
Oh gosh. He looked just as he had on the show this morning.
Emile continued to stare at him with wide eyes. Deceit was smirking, as he practically always was.
Emile cleared his throat. “I uh, did not expect you to just show up.”
Deceit shrugged his shoulders.
"I find clients seeing me in person can help them make a decision faster, about whether they truly want what I provide.”
Emile felt like he should say something about Deceit just showing up at someone’s place. But he couldn’t bring himself to. He was too stuck in his gay panic.
“So…” Deceit began, with a raised eyebrow.
Emile cleared his throat again. Although he was struggling to look at the other, knowing his face had to be pink.
“Right, uh,” He waved to the seats set up for a therapy session.
“Please take a seat.”
Deceit smiled as he did so. He looked around in amusement at all the cartoon memorabilia.
“Lovely little friends.”
Emile laughed a bit at that and went to sit at his desk, but felt that it might be a bit weird so he walked over to the other. Deceit had seated himself where Emile usually did, and oh, that did something to Emile.  He quickly sat on the couch where patients usually sat. It was weird but somehow felt fitting for what they were to discuss.
“Ah, yeah. I am quite a fan of cartoons. I like to use them to help my patients. They can process their situations by using relatable scenarios in cartoons. I’m a therapist.”
Emile wasn’t embarrassed about liking cartoons. But he still felt self-conscious about it around Deceit’s intimidating presence.
Deceit hmmed. “That’s interesting. And quite impressive. I’d love to hear about it some more another time.”
“Oh?”
Deceit nodded. “Of course. If we’re going to be doing this, the least we can do is get to know each other. Which does remind me.”
Deceit straightened his posture and looked down at Emile.
“By calling my number, I want to confirm. You are interested in having some sort of dominant/submissive relationship?”
Emile nodded. “I mean, not like always.”
“Of course,” Deceit said. “I understand this usually means planning out scenes on occasion.”
Deceit’s response caused Emile to let out a breath of relief.
“Have you ever done something like this before?” Deceit asked.
Emile shook his head. “No. I’m still kind of surprised I actually got myself to call.”
“But, it is something you want?”
“Yes. Yes, it is. It’s just…”
“Just what?”
“Well, it’s embarrassing to admit.”
“I don’t want to push you. In order for a dynamic like this to work, there needs to be trust. But open communication is also key as well. I need to know where your comfort level lies.”
Emile sighed.
“I’m just, well, a bit of a gay disaster?” Emile got out. “And, I’m inexperienced in general, let alone for this kind of thing I’d been fantasizing about.”
Deceit gave a little smile at that. “That’s alright. It’s okay to be a bit of a gay disaster, it doesn’t turn me off in the slightest. I would hope my client likes me to want something like this. Don’t be afraid to let me know if anything is too much though. I understand how even positive feelings can be a bit overwhelming.”
Emile took a shaky breath. “You’re nicer than I expected. Uh, I mean-“
Deceit laughed. “It’s okay. I put up a certain persona for a reason. Is my niceness okay?”
“Yeah. I mean, for sure right now.”
“We can definitely discuss what level of dominating you would prefer I be for our scenes. That’s the other thing. It’s important to discuss ahead of time what our expectations are, and what we each what.”
Emile nodded.
“I uh, well, because it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, I don’t exactly have a list of everything I would want to cover.”
“Would you want to wait to figure that out before we go further?”
“Yeah, I think so. I mean, I know I wouldn’t want anything with pain. At least not right now, but aside from that. I need to gather myself.”
Deceit nodded.
“I understand. Don’t worry, Dear. There is still plenty of fun we can have with that off the table.”
Emile made a muted sound, that Deceit seemed to revel in. Deceit scooted forward.
“Do you mind if I check something before leaving?” Deceit asked.
“Uh, I’m not sure. Depends on what it is.”
Deceit stood from the couch.
“I won’t touch you if you don’t want me to. And not too much,” Deceit walked over to Emile and leaned over him.
“I just want to see something.”
Deceit leaned closer. Emile’s breath stuttered. Deceit’s expression was a bit hard to read with the mask and being right there.
“Hm,” He said, and pulled away.
It took Emile a moment to remind himself how to breathe.
“What was that?”
“Checking for physical capability.”
That got Emile to blink.
“Just by coming near me?”
Deceit hmmed. “Testing if I felt a physical reaction to being close to you. I already knew you were cute. Having chemistry or sexual tension makes this more fun.”
“So, it will be like a tease then?”
Deceit thought for a second.
“In most cases, yes. But,”
He looked at Emile,
“If you don’t mind unless it’s too soon to offer, I was thinking a bit of an under-the-table arrangement if you know what I mean.”
Emile tilted his head. “Uh, I’m not sure if I do.”
Deceit sat next to Emile and turned to face him.
“You wouldn’t pay for it, as like I said I’m not a prostitute and wouldn’t want it to be like that. But I think you’re cute, and I’m already attracted to you. So I was wondering if you would want to do other things as well. Like BDSM is usually associated with.”
Emile couldn’t help his squeak this time.
“Uh, well. I’m not…opposed. But, could we work up to that? Like with a regular relationship, oh I don’t want to assume if that’s not-“
“No, it’s okay,” Deceit said. “I am open to it.”
Emile nodded. “But, if we are open to things not for every client, I wouldn’t mind some physical touch,” Emile said.
Deceit smiled. “Of course. In what way?”
“Oh, you know…kissing.”
“Can’t wait,” Deceit said. He definitely glanced at Emile’s lips. Oh gosh, Emile still couldn’t believe this was happening.
“So, feel free to call or text me when you are ready, and we can continue our discussions.”
“Uh, are you just going to show up again?”
“Well, I can check if you seem decent or if the place seems ready for me before doing so. I can usually check that anyways.”
Emile opened his mouth but found he wasn’t sure what to say to that still. So he just nodded.
Deceit disappeared suddenly like how he appeared.
Emile had some things to think about as he headed home.
-
Emile tapped his fingers as he looked at his list. It seemed good. It had taken him a few moments to bring himself to list what he did and did not want from this. Plus, he had to calm down from his first meeting with Deceit. Emile had a feeling there would be more aspects of the dom/sub session to discuss later. He likely hadn’t thought of everything that could come up. When was a good time to meet up again anyways? He thought for a moment before he pulled out his phone to text the other
Emile [Hey, did you have an office? or where do you normally meet with clients for discussions on expectations?]
Deceit [It usually depends on the client’s comfort level. But yes, I do have an official office. Don’t worry. We’re sure to have privacy there 😉 ]
Emile made a muted sound at that again. Gosh, how was he going to go through with this when he was so easily flustered?
He knew that he was already jittery in a fluttery way about this. But he also knew it would likely be better to proceed when he wouldn't get distracted from work.
Emile [How about I meet you at your office for a discussion Friday afternoon? That would work best with my work schedule]
Gosh, Emile hoped he could wait.
Deceit [Of course, dear. If you want, we can keep up with texting in the meantime to get to know each other. Well, as much as I can with a secret identity that is heh. Chatting can help new clients ease into the situation.]
Emile [Yeah, that works.]
Maybe it would be easier if Deceit didn’t see his pink face every time. Ignoring the fact that Deceit could check out a room before teleporting there.
-
The chatting definitely helped. But Emile knew it still wouldn’t prepare him for being around the other again.
He wasn’t sure what to expect from Deceit’s office. There weren’t sex toys or anything explicitly suggestive displayed like that. Which was good for Emile’s heart. But there was other bdsm type of things displayed around the room. Probably as an example of what a client could look to.
Deceit smirked at him from the other side of his desk. He seemed to be wearing his usual
“villain” getup like last time. Including the mask. He had his hands together in a commanding position under his chin.
“Please, take a seat.”
Emile looked around as he made his way over to the chair across from the desk. This still felt so surreal to Emile. He was nervously excited.
“I see you were admiring some of my props and playthings. Feel free to browse through them. Anything on display is an option. And if you have something else in mind, we can look into that.” Deceit put a hand on his chest. “I am a very accommodating dom.”
Emile let out a little nervous laugh at that.
“Sorry if everything being out like this is intimidating, my dear,” Deceit said.
Emile took a breath.
“It’s-it’s alright. I’m just still getting used to the reality of this.”
“Is this still something you want?” Deceit asked.
Emile swallowed and nodded. “Yes. It’s just, very new. Sorry if I’m being weird about this.”
“Not at all. Trust me, I’m aware of how much this can seem even if it’s something you want. It can take time. But I want to assure you I will help you get used to it as best as I can. So you can relax and enjoy yourself more.”
Emile nodded.
“So, where did you want to start?”
Emile pulled the list onto his lap and tapped his fingers.
“May I ask what it is you want first? Like what you had in mind. Sometimes that helps,” Deceit asked.
Emile hmmed. That did make sense. But he had still never said such a thing out loud.
“or, how about I bring up a starter scenario for someone new, and you can help me adjust it to what you want?”
Emile nodded. He didn’t know to what extent Deceit would start with, but that seemed easier.
Deceit nodded. He sat up and then leaned over.
“Well, a basic fantasy is the dom pushing the sub against the wall. But, I get a feeling you’ll want something a bit different in the beginning. So we’ll put a pin in that one.”
Emile looked down, flustered by the suggestion, and started to play with his hair.
“How about logistics and positions then? Would you want to start off standing or on your knees?”
“H-huh!?” Emile exclaimed, blushing.
Deceit smirked a little then smoothed his face out.
“I just mean a starting position, nothing more. Subs tend to like to visibly see the different levels they are at with their dom. So being on your knees can force you to look up at the dom, and for them to feel more powerful.”
Emile whimpered a bit at that and then whined in embarrassment.
Deceit gave him a knowing look.
“Okay, so that sounds like something you like then. Do you want to start off that way, or be told to go to your knees?”
“Uh…I mean both sound good.”
Deceit hmmed. “We can probably figure that out. Maybe the scene can start with you getting on your knees.
“Now, let’s go over that list.”
“So what I’m getting from this, and I could have guessed this, is the power play.”
Deceit stood up and walked around the desk. Emile turned in his chair.
“May I come over to you?” Deceit asked.
 Emile nodded.
Deceit smiled. “I find it’s fun to play a little as we figure out what we both want.”
Deceit put his hands on either side of Emile.
“Looming is good, yes?”
Emile nodded.
“Of course it is. “ He leaned closer. “There had to be a reason the whole villain thing appealed to you. You like a bit of a tease, yes?”
Deceit tapped the underside of Emile’s chin and pulled him to look up at Deceit.
“A demonstration of power with a little touch. Showing desire for you. A bit of a tease. Yeah?”
Emile swallowed, almost unsure how to confirm.
“Yeah,” he said a little breathy.
Deceit smirked and winked at him.
“Lovely. And on top of that, you want a bit of a soft dom that doesn’t take away from the whole villain persona. Maybe, exploiting a bit of a praise kink? Flirting with you even though you know how you get flustered. It’s nice to have that kind of attention, yes?”
Emile whimpered and chanced a small nod.
“Don’t worry, my dear. I enjoy spoiling a cute new sub. And I can tell you’re very good.”
Deceit bent down enough to lean in toward Emile’s face. Emile felt their breath share as Deceit just stayed there for a moment. Then Deceit gave Emile a quick kiss and pulled away. He stood up and walked back over to the other side of his desk.
Emile’s face stayed where he had tried to follow Deceit’s lips.
“Now,” Deceit said, “Let’s discuss some other details that could be fun.”
He gave Emile a moment to get to himself. Hoo boy.
*
So here Emile was now. He was glad it was in his home in some ways. It felt more personal.
Deceit was smirking at him. They had discussed he might sometimes be in a different dom outfit. But for the first time, the only difference at the start was the heels. A nice touch.
Emile was on his knees in front of Deceit. And oh, that was a heady feeling. His wrists were behind his back, but not restrained yet. Emile wore a sort of black leotard. The only thing that was like his usual getup was the pink tie around his neck.
“Oh look at you,” Deceit said. “Kneeling there all nice and ready to listen to your dom. Aren’t you a good boy?”
Emile inhaled sharply at that, knowing he was already blushing.
Deceit tsked. He let his heels click loudly as he stepped closer. Deceit grabbed Emile’s face and tilted it up.
“Oh, come on now. Don’t hide your noises from me. I know you’re good. So show me you like what you hear.”
Emile’s breath stuttered. Then he nodded.
“What’s that? I want to hear it. Come on.”
“Y-yes. I like to be good,” And Emile made a noise at that.
Deceit gave him a knowing look.
“Yes, that’s what I thought. And good boys have a great time ahead of them.”
He reached forward and untied the pink tie.
“I have a better place for this.”
He walked around Emile, heels clicking again.
Emile felt his wrists get tied behind his back. Oh. This was a strange feeling.
“Try to move your wrists,” Deceit muttered.
Emile moved his wrists and wasn’t able to separate them.
“Not too tight?” He asked.
Emile shook his head.
“Good.”
He came back to Emile’s front.
“Color?”
Emile thought.
“Green,” He said.
Deceit nodded. Then he got out a yellow collar.
“I preferred to see you in my colors,” Deceit said. He reached around Emile and fastened the collar.
“Feel alright?” Deceit asked.
Emile nodded a little.
“Now one thing I like to do with these,” Deceit started. He started to move his finger just barely under the collar and tugged Emile forward,
“Is-“
A sudden noise startled them both. Deceit immediately moved his finger and stepped in front of Emile in the direction it came from. To see what it was.
Well…so much for this being private.

He really did not like that thought that lurked in the back of his mind that without Emil coming, none of them would be here. He was one hundred percent sure that it would not have ended well if it was just him. Him alone had not been enough. Shaking his head to shake those thoughts back up he looked back at Emil.
Flynn: And not to change the subject really, but do you like normal cookies now? Or just the chocolate? -he had noticed that he did eat them last, and if it was anything like when he was a kid, he always saved the thing he liked best to the last.- When I was little I used to always save my favorite part of food last.
Emil heard them talk and shook their head. Flynn didn't understand, or perhaps he overvalued what Emil had done. They were not sure, but to them, Flynn had done much more. They had given Emil a life back, they had given Emil a purpose to live for. Protecting Flynn, protecting his family, was the least Emil could do for everything they owed Flynn. Flynn never gave up on them, never believed them malevolent. Even now, they had complete faith in Emil, and Emil didn't want to disappoint them.
Emil: I like chocolate... The cookie however, the rest, feels a bit like cardboard -and they stuttered- Not that I am saying your grandfather is a bad cook! No! Not at all. Perhaps because I have not eaten normal food for so long, my palate is... confused?
And then hesitated and shook their head.
Emil: Your father said he made a mistake. Allowing you to bond with me. And I agree with him. I was dangerous back then. I still am. I fear, I fear I may turn back into instinct, do to you what I did to the Star, and I don't want that -but they also didn't want to leave.- You gave me meaning. You gave me something to live for, and not just... survive.
He listened to Emil talk. He wasn't surprised his dad felt that way. Vy had been very vocal about it, and he thought deep down they had all been wondering. Even he realized it had been a real stupid idea, but right now he couldn't regret it. His family was alive because of his choice.
Flynn: Would you have stopped.. with Lucas I mean, in time? -he had always wondered that.. if he would have stopped if it hadn't been for his dad's interference. - You turned to instinct because you were dying right.. if that had been when we met, wouldn't you have just wanted to die? I am not saying what you did was good, I am not saying your not dangerous, I am saying your still not the same as back then, when I bound you. Setback perhaps, but you are far from that dragon now. Emil: I don't know for sure. Perhaps I would have stopped once I had gained enough bearings to be aware of what I was doing -They confessed- But I am not sure. I... I don't think I ever wanted to die. But I wasn't living either, I was just... existing. I don't want to die, but... I don't want to go back to being that way.

Animators Survival Kit - Richard Williams Book
While reading this book I found I was learning significantly more within the first few chapters, there are quotes throughout it that help me realise that animation is whatever you want it to be. There are so many different aspects you can do and create worlds of your own that wouldn’t be captured by a camera in a movie. For example, “Don’t do what a camera can do – do what a camera can’t do” – Emile Cohl.
The importance of learning how to life drawing was very evident in this book too, it is always something I tell myself I am going to do but never actually get around to it. I would like to change this and get into the habit of regularly life drawing as I know it will benefit me and save time in the future. I liked how Richard Williams put it “What we want to achieve isn’t realism, its believability” this again reinforces the fact that you can do whatever you want if you have the skill set.
Learn to face the silence is another thing that was mentioned, your workflow and the quality of your work will be improved immensely, Dermot O’Connor also said this in one of his tutorials, he said it is good to listen to anything if you are working on something repetitive but when you need to focus to stay in silence.
I liked this point made by Richard Williams when he said “brilliance is not rewarded as much as reliability” it helps to put you in your place but to also understand to limits you can achieve with your time schedule and budget.
Still reading so to be continued...

Sheikh Jarrah, demonstration in Tel Aviv     20.6.2022
If you do not believe me that there is unnecessary violence on the part of  the police, watch the above attachment.
Taken last Friday at Sheikh Jarrah. It seemed in the beginning that all was quiet. There was not much of an army presence or cars and no fences put up around Fatma's house. There is a patch of ground next to the house in which Ben Gvir, the provocateur, has set up his so-called off office and there were several of his fascist supporters there. But all was quiet until as you can see this policeman started attacking the demonstrators and a woman first of all . As he turns away, you can see the smile on his face. Even more infuriating was to see the smile on the faces of his supporters. I was standing on the side but almost immediately the rush reached me. You can never tell and I was standing quietly to the side but some people saw and started shouting on him so I was all right though I did give him a good poke with my stick. No, I know it was not very clever but it is difficult to always act rationally. He turned towards me and then, seeing me, turned his attention to someone else. No, I know that my white hair and age will not always help me.
But I saw even more clearly that this police violence is not at all necessary. There were several events by the left on Saturday night. Two of them were in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in support of the government…..which has to my amazement not fallen as yet…and one march in Tel Aviv on the 55th anniversary of the occupation. There were not as many people as I would have liked to see and there were many Arabs present from all over the country. Many Palestinian flags which I will remind you are not illegal to be flown in spite of the all the army's attacks in various Arab villages. They have nothing better to do, it seems, then climb lampposts to take them down. Maybe they prove Darwin's theory that we are descended from the monkeys. When I saw this, I thought to myself, "For sure there will be violence" but believe it or not, everything went off peacefully. That is until the end and then it was not the police who were the cause of violence.
As it is I am always reminded at these marches of the night Emil Greenschweig was killed by a hand grenade being thrown into the crowd and I kept on looking up at the high buildings which we were going through and then I saw that there were police walking alongside us and throwing light up to the high buildings
In fact, I was amazed when one policeman as I went past, said to me, "If you have a problem, we will take you in a car (to the Habimah) where the demonstration was to be held. And I also saw him when he knocked into a demonstrator and she nearly dropped her sign, apologise to her. I told him I would like to see him in Jerusalem. But at the end of the march at the Habimah, a religious man on an electric scooter drove into two Arab girls who were standing there. Afterwards he claimed that it was done by mistake and the police let him go. I am trying to find out  how the girls are. Of course none of this was reported on the television though I believe it was in the Hebrew version of Ha'aretz.
I especially like this flag which a young man had wrapped around him
This lady had brought three of her dogs with her and  another in this pram and when I asked her why, she said the dog only had three legs and she was not going to leave him at home.
And this lady walked with me the whole way. There is always someone who seems to think that the old lady should have a protection. Actually she was very helpful as I do not know Tel Aviv at all and did not know where to go to meet the bus. She was walking me there when someone phoned and said the place had been changed and to come back. As we were walking back, two young men saw me and said that they knew me from Sheihk Jarrah and if I did not want to a lift back to Jerusalem instead of waiting for the arranged transport. I was really glad as I had to be up the next morning at 6am as I was going down south
I went to a performance at the cinamateque of the London play production of The Lehman Trilogy  It was amazing. Three actors in a kind of a box, just a piano playing and yet they managed to tell the whole story of the bank. Even acted the part of howling infants. It was so long but kept your interest. What I particularly enjoyed was the one brother who when he was young argued with the rabbi that it had been unjust to bring the plaques against the Egyptian people. That he should simply have killed Pharoah. So true

SHADOW AND BONE MASTERLIST
"Do not put words into my mouth, Nikolai."
"Please, you already have so many, my love," he scoffed and the use of the term of endearment hurt the most.
"You're making me sound like a brat while I'm providing you with a viable solution," you insisted with a flare of your hands, frustrated by his unwillingness to listen to you.
"No, you're not. What you're doing is being childish."
"I'm your queen, Nikolai. I'm only asking to be more involved."
"You're my wife, y/n, and you know nothing about politics or running a country." He retired, putting emphasis on wife. This felt a lot like being put into place. And the fact that it was your husband doing so, hurt. It was also the most you had seen him this week.
"Neither did Zoya, nor Genya or anyone who's currently running the country."
"That's different and you know it."
"Only because you're making it so," you exclaimed finally exploding. His despondency got on your nerves and this conversation was going nowhere anyway.
Surprised by your raise of voice, Nikolai stood before you just blinking at you.
Sighing, you took a step toward him, holding your hands up, "look, you're right, I don't know about running a country but teach me. I'm not stupid, I'll pick it up."
"Why are you insisting so much? You've never shown any interest in politics before." He gave you a puzzled look like he didn't really believe your intentions.
"I've never wanted to be queen before." before meeting you.
"Ah, I see," he chuckled mirthlessly, "I put you in this situation and now you're taking your revenge."
To insinuate that your marriage with him was you "being put into a situation" rather than a consensual decision you had made out of love was absurd.
Nikolai was right. You had never cared about politics or diplomacy before meeting him. You were a soldier. There was no reason for you to meddle with something that didn't concern you.
But now you were queen and you felt a responsibility towards your people. You wanted to help but so far, Nikolai hadn't allowed you to take part in any meetings. He said that anyone who needed to be there was already involved. What he didn't tell you was that while Grisha made excellent soldiers and even good councillors, one of them being a royal was a very different matter.
He had indulged his love for you by marrying you. You were his vice and he simply couldn't accept the idea of being without you anymore. He had married you, consequently making you queen, going against what his advisors told him.
While he ignored his warnings he was painfully aware, however, how difficult it was going to be for a Grisha on the throne. It was the first time something liked this had ever happened and unfortunately, the country was filled with people who resented Grisha for their powers.
Nikolai feared that the people were never going to accept you. Hence why he'd been keeping you secluded in the palace.
To be fair, you were doing a wonderful job. Like he had pointed out, you were not accustomed to politics but you made up for that with empathy and kindness. You started to interest yourself with the problem of poverty and lack of provisions for some parts of the country.
And while no one was aware of it, Nikolai often turned to you for military strategy. You were an apt soldier and had fought bravely alongside him and everyone else in the battle of the Fold. You were the very reason why he was still alive, to be honest.
While this arrangement worked for the first months of your reign, it was starting to feel an inadequate effort. You needed to do more, you wanted to do more. You didn't expect Nikolai to oppose it so vehemently.
"If I didn't want to be here I wouldn't be, Nikolai, you'd do well to remember it," you pointed out coldly, straightening your spine.
"Since you seem so adverse at spending time with me or including me in important matters, I'll find someone else who will." And with that, chin held high, you walked out of the room.
You missed him. It felt absurd to say this but you missed your husband. He was always busy with meetings or official visits to some noble across the country. For most of them, he went alone or with Zoya.
You knew that she was his first in command but you couldn't help but be bothered by it. It was one thing to accept the fact that he hadn't given the role to you "because the queen cannot have that role as well", it was a whole other thing to accept the fact that another woman spent more time with your husband than you did.
Countless were the fights you had with him in this regard. But they were pointless. Nikolai was still set on not bringing you and he and Zoya were always found together.
You didn't know what hurt more. The blow at your pride for being denied a position you deserved because of who you loved, the jealousy or being punished for your identity.
One thing was sure though, it was getting too much. At first, you pulled thought for Nikolai but now that you didn't have him anymore, your efforts seemed to be in vain.
So, like you had told Nikolai, you looked for someone who was willing to teach you. You wanted to help and if Nikolai wasn't going to let you here at the palace, then you'd find somewhere else.
Count Kirigin had always been nice to you and he was a very generous host. You knew that he played a central role in Nikolai's plan so you thought that there was no one better than him.
You reached out to him, wrote him a letter in which you showed interest in his activity and asked him if he was willing to show you. Of course, anything that came from the queen or the king couldn't be denied but you knew that the Count truly enjoyed your company. If your position didn't put so much higher than everybody else, you'd even consider him a friend.
You waited for his reply before putting in motion the preparations for your departure.
In the meantime, you and Nikolai kept conducting your separate lives. Usually, you'd only see him at night when he returned to your chambers if you were still up. Now, you had decided to sleep in separate rooms too.
If he wanted a wife, then a wife he'd get. But kings and queens do not sleep together.
If the new arrangement was bothering him, you didn't know. He hadn't reached out to you nor made any move to rectify your decision.
Turns out that he wasn't even at the Palace. He had left for a mission near the border with Shu Han and wouldn't be back for at least a week. Well, then. Of course, he didn't even bother with telling you. Not even a small note.
Jokes on him though, you thought, since when he was going to come back, he'd finally get what he wanted. You weren't going to be there to bother him anymore.
Differently from him though, you did indeed left him a note. Nikolai found it a week after you had set it on his pillow. Its presence made him furrow his eyebrows since he had already been wondering where you were. You usually came out to meet him at the gates whenever he'd come back from a mission and even though you had fought before he went away, you weren't one for holding grudges. So e guessed there was something holding you.
Unfolding the paper he was met with your familiar chaotic writing.
"I don't know when you're going to find this letter but if I'm not there yet it means that I'm still at Count Kirigin's. Do not bother with writing or visiting, I'll come back when my business with him is done.
Y/n"
What in the name of every sweet loving saint???
The letter wasn't dated, no dear, no yours no nothing. Fuck. You were still mad or worse, hurt.
Asking one of the servants, he learned that you had been away for a week already. But what business could you possibly have with the Count??
Nikolai had nothing against him. Seeing Kirigin get all flustered as he tried to flirt with Zoya amused him to no end but the idea of him and you in the same house? Alone?? Unacceptable.
Not even bothering to change clothes after his long journey, Nikolai headed to the stables to ask for a well-rested horse. Luckily, Count Kirigin's estate was not too far away. A couple of hours ride.
Turns out that the Count had a lot to teach. Despite his aloof reputation and extravagant clothes, he was very observant. He lacked ambition, which was why Nikolai trusted him and had a curious way of behaving in social situations.
But Emil had been born and raised in high society. He knew how things were run even if he had no desire to be in charge of them.
So far, you'd be having a wonderful time. Emil was a wonderful host, as you remembered, but without Nikolai's presence, he was even more extravagant. He had an unexpectedly dry sense of humour and a never-ending list of jokes.
Being in the open and in the company of someone who saw y/n instead of the Queen of Ravka proved to be even more needed than you thought. You felt reinvigorated and much lighter than you'd ever been.
You had also been learning a lot. Emil had been teaching you about diplomacy. About the best ways of formulating a sentence so that you wouldn't offend anyone but still get what you wanted. He had also been talking to you about your husband's ministers. About their weaknesses and vices and what was the best way to approach them to get what you wanted.
So far, it was proving to be a wonderful decision to come here.
Whenever your mind strayed on Nikolai, you willed it to focus on something else. You didn't know if he had already come home or seen the letter. A part of you thought that if he had, he would at least write one back. But the thought felt a lot like hope and seeing as how little he saw you even before you left, you didn't think it safe to harbour it.
When Nikolai reached the estate, he was met with Kirigin's servants. They welcomed him inside and profusely apologised for the Count's absence. They told him that at this time of the day, Kirigin and his guest would usually go out on a ride but that they were also about to return.
So Nikolai waited, sitting in the most comfortable chair the Count owned, fuming at the thought that his wife had felt the need to go away and be in the company of another man.
"If I didn't want to be here, I wouldn't be Nikolai. You'd do well to remember it."
Your words haunted him. They were the last thing that you told him. How stupid had he been to let you walk away. How utterly careless of him to disregard you like that.
He had promised himself to truly talk to you about it once this pressing matter of state was taken care of. Apparently, he had waited too long.
But Nikolai knew that the problem was at the source. He noticed how hurt you had been when he made Zoya his first in command. Or how sad you seemed everywhere he went somewhere with her and didn't ask you to join.
He was doing so to protect you from the inevitable slander you'd be met with. He should have known though that putting you aside was going to be even worse. You were a fighter just as much as Zoya was, if not stronger.
She hid behind her veil of indifference and superiority while you had never lost that emphatic verve that made everyone love you so much. In his attempt to make you safe, he had only managed to hurt you.
You were a warrior. You had accepted the role of queen only because it was the only way for you to be with Nikolai. And instead of praising you by making you a warrior queen, he had decided to hide you away.
Well, no more.
If his mistakes had not ruined everything already, he was going to make everything better.
Lost in his musing, he didn't hear the sound of hooves approaching but he did indeed hear your laugh. It immediately brought him back to the present and a wave of ugly jealousy hit him.
He couldn't remember the last time he made you laugh.
"I shouldn't even laugh Emil, the joke was terrible," Nikolai hear you giggling from somewhere in the hall. So now he was Emil, huh.
"You know you can't resist my charm, your highness," Emil replied and Nikolai had to call on every bit of his self-control to not barge out of the room and punch him.
"Stop it, you know you can call me y/n."
Before Emil could reply, they had both made it to the sitting room where Nikolai was waiting for them. It looked like no one had warned them of his presence because Kirigin looked surprised then utterly mortified.
"Your majesty, I wasn't aware you were here. Please forgive me for making you wait."
"Don't fret Kirigin, it was an impromptu visit. I came to see how my lovely wife was doing." No matter how green he was feeling right now, he knew that Kirigin was loyal to him and the crown. Whatever was happening here wasn't one of his schemes.
"Of course! I'm going to send for some tea while you two get reunited." Kirigin quickly bowed before hurrying out of the room.
Nikolai met your eyes for the first time since you had arrived. If at first, you were surprised to see him, now you couldn't help but be a bit sceptical about this visit.
"What are you doing here?" you asked breaking the ice.
"You leave with only a few lines on where you're going and you expect me to just accept it?" He scoffed, his hands curling on the armrests of the chair.
"It's more than what you gave me," you quipped, crossing your arms on your chest.
Nikolai sighed while his gloved hands run through his hair. You were right and he knew it. He had been a horrible husband lately.
"I know you're mad at me, honey, but listen-"
"I'm not mad. You didn't want to give me what I wanted so I went looking for it somewhere else." Scrolling your shoulders, you interrupted him without meeting his eyes. A list of excuses was not what you wanted nor what you needed from him.
Nikolai didn't miss the innuendo. His jaw clenched, his hands closed in fists. But he willed himself to stay calm.
"You think Kirigin can give you something that I can't?" Nikolai was a master in diplomacy. Never did he get frustrated or angry or raised his voice, even with the most aggravating people. Here though, with you, he didn't have to keep a façade. He spoke through his teeth barely containing his anger.
"Well, so far, he's been giving me attention and interesting pointers that no, Nikolai, you refused to give me."
"So this is how you solve your problems? Running away in the countryside with Emil?" Nikolai sneered, his tone souring around Kirigin's name.
"Don't you do the same with your precious first in command?" Tired after your ride with Emil, you plopped down on the chair in front of Nikolai's. Completely ignoring his tone, you pointed out calmly. The perfect image of aloofness even when it was the last thing you were in this moment.
"That's different," he snapped trying to meet your eyes that were carefully analyzing your hands.
"Yes," you signed, "it seems that when I'm concerned everything is different."
"There's nothing between me and Zoya, y/n and you know it." Nikolai was getting more frustrated by the second. He came here to apologize, to make things right and so far, the conversation was going in the opposite directions.
"Maybe now, but you spend more time with her than you do with me. It's only a matter of time before it happens and you're sorely mistaken if you think I'll just stand by and watch."
"This is not about Zoya," he insisted but so far, he wasn't getting the reaction out of you he wanted. You seemed... resigned at the situation. And that worried Nikolai to no end.
"It never is."
"Why did you run away?" Opting for a more direct approach, he bit the bullet and went straight to the point.
"I did not run away," you scoffed in contempt at his choice of words, "I told you I wanted to do more and Emil is teaching me. Not everyone is so against spending time with me, you know." You shot him a glance.
It was the first time that you had looked at him since you had been left alone.
"I married you, y/n. How can you possibly believe I don't want to spend time with you?" As desperation slipped through his words, Nikolai leaned towards you in his seat. As if he couldn't bear the distance between you anymore. But you knew it wasn't that. You and he had been distant for months now.
"Because that's what's happening, Nikolai," you clipped back and Nikolai had to refrain from wincing at your tone.
"It's not intentional, my love, I've just been busy." His tone softened. It was a poor excuse of an apology but it was sadly the truth.
"But when I say that I want to join or help you with it you strongly oppose?" Again, there was that suspicious implication in your words that Nikolai just couldn't stand. To think that you believed he'd ever cheat on you with another woman when he had done so much, taken so many risks, to be with you.
"It's not what you think, y/n." He insisted again but immediately realized he had said the wrong thing when he saw you leaning back into your chair shaking your head.
"I don't think anything, anymore. Do whatever you want. You do your thing and I'll do mine. I won't be a bother to you anymore." Holding up your hands, you gestured as you spoke.
A beat. Nikolai froze in his seat at what you were suggesting.
"You're never a bother to me. Never." He leaned even forwards in his chair, basically only propping on it now. The desperation was now clear in his voice. He reached out to you to try and take hold of your hands but you were too distant.
"I love you more than anything in this world and if you think that I'm going to let you go without a fight, you're sorely mistaken." The steel determination of his words caught you off guard. Nikolai was strong-headed, you knew that better than anyone else, but it had been a long while since that determination had been directed to you.
"You already did." It was barely a whisper. The sad truth about your reality, the downfall of your relationship. The wavering of your voice, the pain in your eyes were enough to tip Nikolai off the edge.
"Milaya, please."He fell onto his knees in front of you. Leaning forward he reached for your hands that he could now hold. "I'm sorry. I put you in a difficult position when I married you and I tried my best to protect you."
"I don't need protecting, Nikolai, especially if it's by pushing me away."
"I was keeping you away from danger and I know that you're strong and capable but I hate to think of you as the object of public slander." His eyes darted between yours, frantic, desperate to make you understand.
"I'm Grisha, Nikolai. It's nothing new to me," you pointed out but then it hit you.
"By difficult position, you meant a Grisha Queen, didn't you?" Your eyes hardened at the implications, your hands going slack in his hold. You would have pulled them away if Nikolai didn't tighten his hold.
"Please, do not think I'm regretting my choice or I think you're not worthy of the title because that's not true." Pulling your hands, he tried to get you closer to him. "I fear that there will be repercussions among the people." And there it was, at last, the truth.
"And among your ministers," you added remembering Emil's lessons on the people at court and their role.
You scoffed when he stayed silent. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought I was doing the right thing, my love."
"So Zoya can handle it and I can't?"
"For the millionth time," he groaned, "I don't care about Zoya."
"I only care about you and I know you can handle it. I just didn't want you to. You deserve happiness and peaceful life and I know it's impossible to have in this saints' forsaken country but I can at least try." His eyes lowered in shame and his confession sent a pang through your heart. You took a moment to take in what he said.
Never had you thought about the possibility of Nikolai's distance was a form of protection. You were a soldier of the Second Army, after all. But being a queen, especially a Grisha one, was a delicate thing.
It was the first time in history that something like this happened. Nikolai's worries were not unfounded since even after the destruction of the Fold, anti-Grisha movements were spreading fast.
It was sad to see the General's attempt of assuring safety for Grisha, provoking exactly the opposite thing.
"Oh, Kolya," returning his grip, you leaned towards him, "I just want a life with you by my side."
"As do I. I want you always and forever but above all, I want you safe. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, you know it right?"
"I just ask that you tell me the truth and let me play the role I've been given."
"It's not going to be easy. People at court-"
"I know. That's why I'm here. Emil's been teaching."
"Well, no more. I'm going to take care of it from now on."
"Is this a promise or a threat?"
"Rest assured my love, the difference between the two is almost nonexistent." He flashed you a smirk and you couldn't help but smile at him. Here it was, your beloved Nikolai.
"Things are going to change, aren't they?" you murmured softly as he gently rested his forehead against yours.
"We're going to show everyone what a "power couple" is." Here was his promise. Sealed with the gentlest nudging of his nose to yours. The action made you smile and your heart soar. You missed these little moments of intimacy with him.
One of his hands came to cradle your face as the other kept hold of your left hand. Your rings softly clicked as they touched. A form of reassurance.
"I love you, y/n."
"And I you, Kolya."
You were completely lost in your little bubble, even more so when Nikolai's lips finally met yours, that you had forgotten where you were. And that there was an embarrassed Kirigin outside the door waiting for the right moment to come in with tea.

VI: For The Ones That Chose To Move On
"So how much did you and Sarah bet on?" You inquired with a smile as soon as Sam had caught sight of you and Bucky when you returned to Zemo's castle. A knowing smile already playing on his lips the moment he saw the way Bucky held onto your hands.
"She bets after the trip I bet during the trip." he smirked coming to pull the both of you into a big hug. "Always knew you two would finally pulled your heads up your asses." he teased earning an eye roll from Bucky and a grin from you.
You turned your eyes back towards Bucky, as embarrassed as he looked about being found out like this, he seemed happy. More happy than you would have actually thought him to be after all that the both of you shared in your family's tomb. The promise he has made as well as the promise you had also made to make things work for the two of you from now on.
"Why do I even ask." You playfully muttered pulling away from Sam's hug and smiling after realizing that Sam still held onto Bucky and surprisingly giving the man a much needed warning of getting his ass kicked if he ever so much as hurt you. It clenched onto your heart to have someone like Sam as a big brother when you needed him to be (or on most occasions when you don't even ask him to be).
"I'll break the bones of anyone that would even try to hurt her." Bucky muttered finally pulling himself away from Sam's affection and his attention was solely on you now. "I made a promise and I'm not about to break it." he smiled and you believed him as he spoke those words. Words that you had come to live by from now on. Nothing is more important for you than his words.
"Ms. Y/L/N,"
Everyone's eyes turned to the owner of the voice, Oeznik, who held a phone in his hand and for a moment brought a sudden flash of worry to you and even the duo that was quick to see the seriousness in the face of the butler for whoever was on the other line.
Taking the phone from the butler, you stepped away from everyone's line of hearing.
"Y/N speaking." You whispered as soon as you had stood in the far end of the corner away from them.
"Been a long time since I've heard from you, Y/L/N." You tensed at the voice of Director Fury, memories of the things you had to do for the man in the past for the sake of what was supposed to be SHIELD and the truth of what it really was. "I'd take it you're in Sokovia right now?"
"As far as I know, I'm a civilian and whatever I do in my spare time is no one's business but my own." You spoke tersely, doubting the need for the sudden conversation with the man after everything that had happened in the past.
"No civilian would go head to head with one Emil Blonsky as far as I know." He retorts right back to which made you wince, should have known the man would be aware of your actions for the past week. "Has Ross made you aware of the need for the man?"
"I don't ask questions I should know nothing about." You muttered, knowing if you did it would compromise the agreement you had with General Ross. "It's not something I would want to be a part of."
"If I said he was going to creating his own version of the Avengers Initiative, would you be joining them?"
You tensed at the fact that it would be a possibility, they had their own little team to do their bidding and you were there to help in recruiting some of it. The fact that if that were the case, you couldn't. There was no Tony or Natasha to make the team whole, to make it the same family like you had before. Ross could never replace that, not for all the money and power in the world.
"I am a civilian now, Fury." You whispered, coming to peace with the fact. "Unless the world is in grave danger like it was during the blip, I want to live the life I had never thought I'd be allowed to have."
"And that's all I needed to know. We still have eyes on some of the people he has eyes on, and I want you to be careful, for your sake as well as Barnes and Wilson's."
"They're not gonna join a twisted crew, not for all the money in the world." You know as much and your faith in the two men knows it too.
"I know Rogers wouldn't want you three either."
"It's not about Steve anymore, Director." You were quick to respond, trigger by having Steve's name placed in the conversation. "It's about what me, James and Sam believe in. Steve Rogers is dead and we finally chose to move on."

One of the few things Bucky has learned since meeting you was how easy it was to tick you and how you constantly find ways to destress yourself when the need arises. This was one of those times. Whoever was on the phone has completely pissed you off had made you haul yourself straight to your temporary bed in Zemo's castle, the smell of incense and lavender wafted all throughout the hallway.
A part of Bucky wanted to check on you, but knowing you the way that he did, you needed space. Space to think and compose yourself before you say anything you do not mean. Bucky had experience that a lot in the months of knowing you, and how it had constantly ate you inside afterwards.
"Who do you think made a call?"
Sam was quick to sense your distress as much as Bucky. In light of everything, also knew it wasn't the right time to talk to you when you're in this frame of mind. The chaos that the Flag Smashers has caused was one of those moments.
"Your guess is just as good as mine."
"Maybe it's Ross? Got someone else he wants her to extract for him."
Bucky trusted you, with whatever General Ross wanted for you to do, he knew perfectly well you could handle it. The bruises and scratches were just something he knew he had to live with. He was worried, constantly as always, but he trusted you to come back when you promise you would. But even in the trust and confidence he has in your abilities, it scared him what they could actually do to you.
"Maybe..." Bucky trailed off, eyes lingering at the door the two of them were standing in front of as they waited for you to actually come out of. "I honestly don't know." He sighed eyes boring a hole into the door.
"Think she's safe with dealing with Ross--and whoever else Walker is working for?"
"No." Bucky spoke just as honestly, there was this underlying worry he still has but was still uncertain if he should voice. "But I'm gonna try my best to protect her, from any ulterior motive they have against her."
"Walker said something, and I got a bad feeling about whatever they have plan, Y/N might just be a part of something we know nothing about."
"I'm not joining if that's what both of you are worried about."
Finally slipping out of your room, Bucky was still at awe with you. Even with the ghost of your own past, here you still were. Shaken as you still were from your conversation, the reassuring smile laid on your lips making your way to him. Arms were quick to wrap around Bucky's torso, face nestled against his chest and for a moment, Bucky was at peace.
"My agreement with General Ross was I would just be helping him with a few people he needed. Nothing more and nothing less. He can't make me be part of a team that is never a family to me."
That was the difference neither men would have thought to be the real factor for you to stay away.
"Let's grab something to eat, I know Oeznik has something dished out for us." Sam had patted you on the back before leaving the both of you alone for a moment.
"You really okay?" Bucky inquired looking down at you, still nestled on his chest.
"I'm trying to be." You whispered finally pulling your face away from his chest, to get a good look at him. "It's so hard to move on when the world around me is still trying to make the same effort."
"Everyone has their own time to mourn and move on, just like you and me."
He knew as much, he had watched you try your best to move on with life and with everything that had happened in both of your past, it's never going to be easier if he was to be honest. But it was a start, as long as they had each other. Nothing will come to hurt you and he was certain as much as it wasn't your job, you will protect him just as much.
"I'm doing my best to do it," You whispered hands resting on his chest, the warmth of your hands against his chest made him smile, "But I don't know if I'm going to strong enough when it gets too much."
"I'm here." He assured, a smile playing on his lips. "Whatever you may need, I'm here for you. Until the end of the line, Y/N."
