a/n: AHHHHH ITS SO GOOD TO BE BACK!! i revamped the blog so hopefully its more authentic and grown up. however, still respect my policy of black reader(no messy buns and crimson red cheeks sorry{not sorry}) being the main reader and smut still happening on this page. Felix Catton headcanons

You two first met at Oxford and he was immediately intrigued. You shocked him when you asked what one of his wristbands meant and he answered with a pleasant smile and you retorted that you had been there before. He smiled and asked for your name which you happily obliged in giving him.

You went to a pub and saw him again and he asked where you were headed and when you answered, he huffed and insisted that you stay with him instead.

He spent the entire night holding you by the small of your back and being very touchy and you were giggly(whether from the alcohol or his intoxicating energy still leaves something to be desired).

Felix walked you back to your dorm where you couldn’t stop thinking about him.

He was spotted by you in the library and he struck up a conversation about where you are from and your hobbies:

“A pretty girl like you must be from somewhere special”-he said

“Oh! No, I’m just from(enter state or city here)”- your ears fell hot and you felt yourself melt into his gaze.

“Ahhhh I think I’ve heard of that place before” even when he hasn’t

“Oh haha yeah. So what about you?” You chuckled, picking up on his white lie.

“Oh my family just owns a house in Saltburn, have you heard of it? It’s kind of small” he said modestly

“No sorry. I don’t know much about the UK besides the Beetles” you laughed

Felix chuckled at this and he found your naivety cute and endearing

He introduced you to most of the things in the UK and over time, you started getting closer

Actual headcanons:

-Spoils you relentlessly and doesn’t understand the concept of not doing so. To him, you’re a princess and you deserve to be treated so.

-His friends don’t like you because you aren’t wealthy(unless you are, slay queen or king) but Felix doesn’t care.

-Asks you if you want to smoke and accepts when you say no

-Has fluffy hair and mewls when you run your hands through it

-Kisses you when you wake up and when you try to push him off of you, he just grabs your hands and kisses them too.

-Makes you look like a ragdoll(and throws you around like one too ;)

-Loves picking you up and spinning you around while kissing you

-Doesn’t understand the concept of personal space when it comes to you but fully expects you to give him space when he needs it

-Loves to hold your hand and play with your fingers while making comments about how small you are compared to him

-Plays with your feet when you’re sleeping next to each other

-Helps you with your homework when needed

-He loves tanning and even though you’re already tan, he will ask you to come and read to you during it

-Reassures you whenever he gets hit on and playfully blows girls off

-If you’re getting flirted with, he will go out of his way to make the other guy feel like a third wheel by kissing you, spinning you, and calling you pet names while nuzzling your nose

-Begs you to go to Saltburn; when you do, his entire family loves you.

-His mom cups your face in her hands and remarks about how pretty you are.

-You two gossip while Felix rolls his eyes and makes comments

-Felix calls your parents and flys out to meet them

-They love him(he took his piercing out so they wouldn’t think he was a freak)

-He is horrible at Just Dance and when he messes up, he pushes you slightly so that you mess up too

-This leads to him flopping on the floor while holding you and laughing

Summary: After winning Street Woman Fighter nobody expected this…

Bada met you in one of her classes.

At first it was a silly hobby you decided to start. You decided to finally get out of your apartment and one day you were scrolling through Twitter when you came across a dance company account. They weee hosting classes, so you mindlessly signed yourself up to it. Not thinking you were gonna like it.

The day of your class, you remembered walking in and a tall woman catching your attention. Immediately you catched her attention to. You hated anyone who told you that love at first sight was real, but for some reason this woman was making you reevaluate your whole perception of love.

So you started from going every Monday to going every Monday and Tuesday, to every Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday, to every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and eventually you would be there the whole week. Even if Bada wasn’t teaching that day, you still hoped to at least see her in the building.

And so did she.

As she constantly called in to come in to do a demonstration hoping you would be there.

Eventually she noticed you two were both desperate to see eachother, which finally made her come up to you.

After a year of knowing eachother you two finally started dating, but kept it on the low knowing that you two both liked to have privacy.

Which brought you here.

“The winner of Street Woman Figheter is…”

As the speaker trailed off Bada along with the other members of Bebe grabbed their hands in union, closing their eyes shut. This is what they’ve been waiting for. This is what she’s been waiting for you to see, all her hard work actually pay off. Even though she already knew how proud you were of her everyday. How you had to tolerate her always trying her best to make time for you, and no matter what the circumstances were, there you were waiting.

It’s one of the main reasons she fell in love with you in the first place. Obviously besides the fact of how gorgeous you were when you first started dancing in her classes. She couldn’t keep her eyes off you.

She smiled at the cheesy thought and quickly hit reality once again.

Then silence for a few seconds. She opened her eyes quickly searching for you in the crowd, there you were with her jersey. Bada immediately felt comforted by the presence of you. Your eyes both met, yours were watery as you looked into hers from the stage as you put a thumbs up. She only chuckled lightly at your attempt at reassuring her all the time.

She was so distracted she didn’t even noticed that they had called Bebe as the winner, not until the others members started to gather around and hug each other, they were a crying mess.

Bada comforted her team as she looked for your eyes again, there you were cheering and crying as you gave a look at her in admiration. She looked at you forming a heart with her arms and crying again as she mouthed a “I love you”.

The group went to hug Jam Republic next, a lot of “Congratulations” said and tears.

After they finally went back to their places the MC handed the mic to Bada. “Congratulations on your win, do you have any words to say to the audience”

Bada nodded as she took the microphone and put it up to her lips. She looked at the other members before starting.

“I actually wrote my speech” she said her voice slightly cracking and tears falling from her eyes. You and everyone else watched carefully as she took out the note from her pocket.

Oh Bada, always prepared for everything, you thought.

“First, I just wanted to thank everyone who supported us, my parents who believed in all of us and the other 8 amazing teams” she said giving time for the others to clap. As the claps down she looked at what was next on her paper, she smiled reading what she had wrote down.

You looked to her with a confused expression wondering what she was smiling about.

“Most importantly though, someone who I haven’t spoken about at all for the sake of privacy, and I know that she’s gonna be really mad at me for saying this on TV”

You’re eyes furrowed at her words as the audience laughed, slowly putting the puzzle pieces together about what she was about to do.

“There’s no way she’s really-“

“I would like to thank the most important person in my life right now, my girlfriend Y/n.”

For the third time that night your eyes met once again, you were shocked to say the least.

You two had promised to keep your relationship private for so long and you did not expect that and neither the crowd as they all let out gasps.

“Girlfriend? She has a girlfriend? She likes girls?” The lady behind you said, you had to hold back a slap, because yes duh she said girlfriend and of course she liked girls, was the show not enough?.

Your gaze went back at Bada and to her surprise you looked anything but mad. You actually smiled at her and mouthed an “I love you babe” and then unexpectedly a light was shined on you from the ceiling. You jumped lightly covering your mouth with both your hands.

“I can’t believe this is happening right now” You muttered. Everyone’s attention was suddenly on you.

Meanwhile on stage the rest of Badas team were also new to the news as their eyes found you and suddenly it all made sense.

The reason why Bada would have to step out a few minutes and return with light lipstick stains on her neck or the reason she didn’t go out with the team as she often would, which didn’t bother them but confused them sometimes.

“Everything makes sense now” lusher whispered to the rest of the team.

“Right! No wonder she’s been all happy and bubbly these past few months I was starting to think she was going to quit” tatter answered, the rest of the team laughed, as Bada looked back to see what her team was laughing about but she quickly continued her speech.

“My girlfriend has been my main motivation throughout this amazing experience, she’s been there for me when I was struggling on this show and I don’t know what I would do without her, and I can’t believe I let her take this long for her to let me show her off, but tonight I just want everybody to know I wouldn’t even be here in the first place if it wasn’t for her. I love you Y/N”

The crowd was filled with ‘awws’ as you were left overwhelmed and crying, but yelling out a “I love you!” to Bada.

After the show you met Bada and the team off stage. Immediately you ran to her arms.

You hugged her as she hugged you back lifting your shorter body off the ground.

“They look so cute together!”

“I can’t believe she never told us about her she’s beautiful!”

Whispered Bebe

Bada but you down, the both of you just admiring eachothers faces.

“You’re not mad that I finally publicized our relationship?” Bada asked, a worried cute expression on her face.

You giggled moving a strand of hair to the back of her ear.

“Why would I ever? I’m dating the best woman in the world. Besides I was getting tired of keeping it a secret”

You said annoyingly, she chucked kissing your cheek.

“I’m so mad we’ve gone this long without anyone knowing.”

“Maybe you can make it up to me tonight”

Some backstory ig? :

-Yan! Actor/Celebrity have known darling since they're kids and darling had always been their biggest supporter.

-Yan! Actor/Celebrity was Darling's fav child actor and the fact that both of their parents know each other makes them close.

-Yan! Actor/Celebrity let darling comes to the set or shoot and makes sure they didn't have eyes on anyone else but them.

-Darling would drop anything for them, . As an example; Darling's classmate have a birthday party but they couldn't come because Yan! have a shooting. (it's mostly like, not because Yan wanted them to. Darling is just worried about the Yan! and Yan! never complained)

-Darling's behaviour goes on until they're almost finished high-school and they realised how they don't even have friends and have been following Yan! for as long as they remember and decided to change when they entered college.

➽ the newspaper can’t stop talking about the child actor that has stolen everyone’s heart, becoming the youngest winner in the award ceremony and turning into a famous star from day to night. his name going to the people’s mouth everyday and every night, gaining fans all over the globe with that gentle smile of his. everyone knows him, everyone adores him and everybody wants to be Irving Orson.

➽ his famous smile enchanted anyone who comes around and you were no exception, being his most trusted confident. you are his sidekick since the very first time he knows you, his best friend and his best supporter. the man knows that he has control over your life and he abused it.

➽ initially meeting you during a fancy gala as a little boy, irving as forced by his mothers to become acquainted with theirs coworker’ child who couldn’t stop giggling about him. a missing teeth in the front roll, hair messed like a hurricane has gone through the hall and wearing the most ridiculous shoes with lights, that was you. and since that day, irving and you become inseparable even though that was against his wishes.

➽ after the movie ended, irving opted to go home to rest and made you stay at his place as a small reward for being a good friend, a tiny smile appears when he said that. and you couldn’t refuse it, tiredness took over your body when stepping inside and he took the opportunity to place you at his bed, and he didn’t lose the chance to lay next to you.

➽ one day, you just left him without saying goodbye and peace has come to your life again. no need to wake up before the sun rising, no more dark circles and finally some time to see mother and father without worrying about work. it’s feel nice to finally be happy again, to have time for yourself to just relax and do nothing. this is so much better than overworking for irving and not be valued by him.

➽ and speaking of him, irving is panicking when he couldn’t find you anywhere. all of your stuff gone from the bedroom you used at his mansion and no one of his employees knows where you are, almost like you vanished in thin air. calls, messages and emails from him are ignored, leaving without options to contact you other than visiting your parents’ home and even that leave him without much. none of them know where you are despite the frequent visits and they didn’t bother asking, believing that you only took a few days off from working.

➽ his mind began playing tricks on him, making irving had your voice in very corner of the mansion and try to chase you down, only to be met with nothing. the actors and crew that he have been working with can tell there is something off about him, advising him to take a few weeks off from working to focus on his mental health. and of course, he accepts it, knowing that he can’t do much other than rest and try to keep himself calm after searching you for hours.

➽ i will find you, [name]. you can’t leave his mind despite trying to much to forget you and his mind doesn’t playing him like the fool he is. irving began dreaming about you every night, sometimes it’s silly as a picnic date that went wrong, others is about you cuddling him and he also dream about you having children with him. it sound like a perfect scenario, marrying you and then create a family to call his, irving desires that and he will make it become real.

➽ hiring someone to do the shady work wasn’t difficult, he just need the help of his friends to find someone willing to find your whereabouts without giving him away. he knew that you won’t forgive him, but does that really matter? as long he has you by his side, hating him won’t change his feelings nor plans for the future.

➽ it took only two days to irving learn your new address, a house in the edge of the city where the nature takes over the old buildings, remembering him of those apocalyptic movies he acted in. why would you give up of the richness and luxuries to live in a place like this? the only reason he can thinks of it is the rent being cheaper since you’ve stopped working for a quite while. yet, the walls with fresh colors and the smell of sweet inside your new home makes him wonder if you truly left him

➽ in his hands reached the doorknob before he could think and for his lucky, it was open. slowly and carefully, irving made his way towards the door that appears to be your bedroom, the guilty and shame of entering your house like this is eating him, but he can’t give up now. specially when he is so close to get you back.

➽ your sleeping body don’t move when he make his way inside, only continue to mutter in your sleep. irving took a deep breath when coming close to your bed, laying down close to your sleeping form and letting one of his hand closer to your thighs, caressing it without remorse.

Steve would take any opportunity to eat you out. At one point it seemed that any time you were alone would be spent with his head between your thighs, lapping you up like your his fucking life source.

I really like interpretations of Magnificus' students before he did the shit he did so I whipped up my own! These are very head-canon heavy and probably go against some sorta lore so take alla this whith a pinch of salt.

I have in-dept explanations under the cut :>

The Belothed Dress-Code

I like to think Magnificus has a bit of a dress code for his students. He wouldn't be too strict but the main theme is typical hat robe boot combo and everything being oversized. Opinions on this code varies between students.

Sapphire Mage

Known as The Lonely Wizard in-game, I like to think that they are the most focused and grounded out of the students. I've writen the student's old personalities based off of their trial, so I decided Sapphire would be the busiest of the three- always up to something, whether training magic, finding a new hobby or finding someone to bother. Sapphire is the student who was trained by Magnificus the longest, so he is the closest to him as well as being the student who excels in card magic the most. The other two turn to them for advice. Think of them as the older sibling type.

For their design they change the least from their canon design. They're the only one to keep their robes long, only adding gloves and dangly moxes to their hat to fiddle with. I wanted them to look the 'neatest' out of the three.

Ruby Mage/ Amber

Known as The Piked Wizard in-game, I like to think she's the strongest physically as well as the most social with the other scrybes and their residents. Amber is the most exciteable and bold of the three pre-trial. She started her training just before Goobert, and because of that is a little closer to him then she is to Sapphire.

For Amber's design I wanted her to challenge the dress code the most out of the three, keeping her sleeves short and ripping off the trail of her robes (she tripped one too many times). I added the most accessories to her, including a chestplate, knee/elbow pads and laced boots. I gave her shorter hair as well. She is the tallest of the three. (I designed her before I learned Lonely is canonically 7'0+, and I'm not sure what to with that information.)

Emerald Mage

Known as Goobert or The Goo Mage in-game, I like to think he's the least experienced of the three in magic. There isn't a lot to say here, as he acts the most like his canon personality.

Emerald was a tough character to design. I latched onto how Goobert spesifies he was 'turned into goo' for his trial and I haven't seen any non-goo designs for him yet. @lego-block-man helped a LOT by suggesting a wyrven for his deisgn (though I settled on a dragon because i'm not creative enough BEFWBJEAVNF). I'm still a little uneasy about this design straying so far from canon but I still love it none the less. I wanted his interests in creative hobbies to show in his design, so I gave him a self-tailored hem for their robes as well as their sleves being pinned up and out of the way. He also wears velcro boots.

I have not been an active participant in the Harry Potter fandom in a very long time and it's just recently that a coworker of mine suggested that I give Dramione fics a try.

Her suggesting was both a blessing and a curse—ever since I started looking into Dramione, I've found more than a handful of fics that I absolutely loved, Remain Nameless being one of them. Of course, I've done nothing but devour fanfics in my free time ever since, placing other hobbies and social outings on hold. I can't say I regret it much, though my sleeping schedule took quite a hit as well :')

I'd like to start by telling you how much I enjoyed the plot for Remain Nameless. I never was a fan of slow burns before, but it might seem like aging has mellowed me out quite a bit. It's either that, or the fact that I've been feeling like time just flew by lately (to be completely honest ever since the pandemic it feels like every time I blinked, another year passed by), and I desperately want things to slow down a bit, just so I can enjoy them properly—both in my life and in my reading.

There are plenty of stories about Draco and Hermione and them falling in love, but this one is definitely a favourite. I loved how the accent was placed on them and their evolution as people and their journey as lovers.

It was heartwarming to see Draco's transformation throughout the story and each interaction between these two characters, especially the initial ones at the coffee shop, brought me such joy.

The pacing of their friendship and then romantic relationship felt so natural, and I couldn't help but sit at the edge of my seat, waiting with baited breath to see if things are going to turn out well for our main couple (even though I knew it would be a happy ending, according to the tags :') )

Also, the characters that made an appearance fleshed out the story wonderfully. I'd like to say that the moments including Ginny, Theo and Sasha were some of my favourites, but then again, can I really have favourites when I loved each chapter so much?

The familial relationships were also points of great interest for me. I enjoyed seeing how Hermione interacted with her parents after everything that happened and her relationship with the Weasley members really warmed up my heart. The acceptance of Draco into Hermione's friend and family circles was also quite emotional for me, since he went through such complex experiences with his own parents and friends.

The writing was also marvelous and it really captured me, though I feel like I couldn't fully appreciate it since my eyes were flying over the words to know what happens next. I would love to pick up this fanfiction again for another read, just so I can fully appreciate the craftsmanship that was put into it.

Honestly, being reintroduced into this fandom reminded me why I love fandom and fanfiction so much. Sure, there might be people who sully the experience with their greed and pettiness (I've read a bit about those people what bind your fics and sell them on etsy and I recall reading an AN of somebody reposting your work on Wattpad and I'm so sorry that these things happened/are happening to you and many other fantastic writers) but it can also bring people together and be such a great source of comfort.

I apologize for the long message, I feel like I rambled quite a bit. I know there's much more that I would have loved to say, but words seem to evade me today. But I would like to thank you again for putting in so much of your time, effort, love, and passion into writing this wonderful piece of fanfiction and for sharing it with us.

This story made me giggle, it made me cry, and it made me feel so many emotions, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for it.

Hi! I was wondering if I could get a romantic matchup for Hazbin?

I'm bi but with a preference for men, so I would like a male character as a matchup :)

Anyway, I'm an ambiverted female. I may seem quiet and unapproachable at first, but once I get close with someone, I'm a completely different person; I'm a bit charismatic, I like to joke around and I love to engage in playful banter with my friends. I'm also very often sarcastic and sometimes I like to tease my friends (and I don't mind being teased back). I'm also the type of friend in a group who tries to stop the rest from doing dumb shit, especially if I consider it too dumb or dangerous. You could say I'm the rational friend or even mom friend of the group maybe. I may come off as mean sometimes, but it's either my attempt at joking or trying to show that I care. I'm also not afraid to call someone out on their bullshit if I think they are going overboard and I value loyalty a lot.

As for my style, lately I've been dressing mostly in all black, kinda goth style (but I always wear pants, never skirts, I despise them lol). I also love silver jewelry, I always wear some visible earrings (usually dragon or snake themed) and I have a silver ring on each finger on both my hands (I feel almost naked without them).

My main interest/hobby is listening to music I guess, I can't love without it. Lately I've been into any rock type of music, heavy metal, pop-rock, hard rock, etc. Besides that, I also love to draw, read and travel. I guess I should also mention that I've been an equestrian for many years.

And lastly, my main love languages that I use are physical affection (I'm touch starved as hell), quality time and gift giving (basically anything besides words of affirmation, I'm shitty at that).

What to do if you don't have ideas:

Do you not have any ideas for NaNoWriMo? Do you not know jackshit about what you want to write? Well, as a professional thinker (don't search that up), I got some tips that can help you kickstart an idea for a story:

1. Mix and Match:

This is one I read from "Save the Cat" by Blake Snyder (I know it talks about screenwriting, but, it's still very much applicable to all fiction writers. If you haven't read it, I would suggest you to give it a try). Try thinking of an elevator pitch, or a proposal that is one to two sentences long. If your proposal is good enough to hook yourself in, you got yourself a story worth writing. For Nanowrimo, you're pretty much writing for yourself. If you aren't hooked to the premise, don't even bother.

One of the best ways to do it is to mix and match. But, Julianne? What do you mix and match? You can mix genres, what if statements, pre-existing books, anything that can hook a reader (and yourself) in one to two sentences. For example, looking at popular stories:

Cinder by Marissa Meyer: Cinderella and cyborgs

City of Bones by Cassandra Claire: Harry Potter and angels

Lucifer (Netflix): Biblical figures in an LA cop story

Foul Lady Fortune: Shakespeare's "As you like it" set in 1931's Shanghai

West Side Story: Romeo and Juliet with New York City gangs

And the list goes on and on. You might be thinking that it's plagiarism to take two already existing ideas and mix it together. Well, let me tell you--as long as you aren't blatantly copying a pre-existing story and you're putting your own spin to it, you're fine. Of course, you can always put a disclaimer that says it's inspired by the pre-existing story.

2. Random Word Generators:

I did this for my personal NaNoWriMo in February of 2021, and it makes the planning stage a lot of fun. Go to a random word generator (there's a ton online), generate ten random words (I did 30, and it was too much for a single month to finish a book), and make an outline.

I took a typical plot outline mountain (I would suggest doing the same. It's the simplest outline), and assigned the words to the different beats. For example, if one of my words was "Dog" I can put dog in the exposition part of the plot outline mountain, at the very bottom. Maybe my character has a motivation for a dog. Maybe the character is a dog. Maybe there's a pre-established world-building element that has to do with a dog. The list can go on and on.

Once I put all my randomly generated words in their places, I expanded upon them. If my words in the exposition were "Dog, Feather, Jump," I would try to make a connection between the three words and think about how that would fit into the exposition of the story (maybe the character is the 'Guard Dog' to the queen and they're known for being as light as a feather and just as stealthy. They jumped at this opportunity the moment they saw it, to get out of their thieving ways). You can always change the words and exchange them for different words, as long as it sparks ideas.

3. Writing what you love:

Even if you don't have any ideas for a story, the best writers are also the best readers. Think about what you love in a story? What do you look for? What tropes stand out to you? What makes you care about a story? For me, I love fantasy books, a slow burn, a sarcastic main lead, action scenes. Write everything you love to put in a story in a list. Then, write down the things inspire you or are important to you. It can be a T.V show, a hobby, an already existing story, a person you look up to--anything that doesn't have to do with what you want to see in a book, but what inspires you to be creative.

After that, think of a theme. What is the main theme of what you want to write about? Maybe you love the theme of "love at first sight" or "being true to yourself." Maybe you're much more political and is interested in the theme "injustice in the current justice system" or "political parties driving people apart." But, think of a central theme.

Finally, outline the story. Use a pre-existing plot outline (though you are more than welcome to deviate. Remember, you have to finish a manuscript in a month). Write down where the story begins and how you want it to end based on your theme (ex: if the theme is about letting go, the beginning main character could be a hoarder and the story can end with the main character starting from scratch, maybe even giving their stuff to charity). Then, write how they get to that ending based on your inspirations. With the example of the hoarder, I love fantasy and slow burn romances. The setting would obviously be in a fantasy setting, and maybe their love interest helps them get over their hoarding ways. I'm inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, so I'm interested in incorporating martial arts in their magic system, or have the setting inspired by East-Asian cultures/Inuit cultures. Maybe the main character is the "Chosen one" in a sense and doesn't want to be. Maybe the main character is reincarnated. The list can go on and on, it's all up to how you want the story to go.

This option is the most vague, I think, but, it can really help you think of an idea of a story that you want to care about.

Before starting the analysis, I would suggest if you haven’t already, read her W.I.N.G. (introductory) commu (through the broswer game's English patch or on YouTube). If you don’t play the game, I would listen to her image song and read the lyrics to get a better sense of her character.

STYLE BREAKDOWN

Out of all of the Shiny idols, Kogane’s style is the most consistent from her debut to current day. Her fashion is polished and elegant, cutie-sexy while also modest. Kogane’s style is a Japanese take on 1950s fashion, highlighting her figure, fashion sense, and love of pink.

Most of Kogane’s earlier outfits were in the “girly” style, very cute and sometimes tacky with a bit of a playful edge with oversized floral and bow features and a predominantly pink color scheme. As seen in later outfits, her clothes compliment her figure very well.

A substyle of her girly fashion, the “cutie sexy” style (as I dub it) keeps her hyperfeminine style, but adds a coy maturity to her outfits that add a bit of sexiness to her cute ensembles. Details include exposed shoulders/cleavage, sheer fabric, & darker/more neutral colors.

Another notable girly substyle featured is “retro girly,” mostly taking influence from 50s American “housewife” style. A reference to her “countryside hospitality” and love to cook for others, it shows a bit more elegance and class compared to previous style inspirations.

I want to go more in-depth into the 1950s retro influence in her style, so I made two more graphics detailing the “New Look” style by Dior (made in late 40s but popularized in 50s & beyond) and the “American housewife” influences in her fashion.

Her final major style influence is “adult girly,” a substyle that still has cuteness that the “girly” style is known for, but leans in more to an elegant/classy vibe. A visual shift that shows her character growth as an idol as well as the leader/center of L’Antica.

Kogane’s image color is a medium shade of magenta-red, referencing her status of being the center and leader of her unit L’Antica, a trait of pink image color idols. Compared to Mano’s pink, it’s much more vibrant, pointing to her outgoing and larger-than-life self.

The main colors in Kogane’s wardrobe are pinks, browns, and yellows and are mostly a constant throughout her fashion through time. These colors are often paired together and with white/black as accent colors. Kogane also infrequently wears blue/purple, mostly in earlier outfits.

FASHION ANALYSIS

Kogane is known as the leader and center of L’Antica with a huge love for her hometown of Nagasaki. Because of the overwhelming support and love she’s received there, she possesses unbudging positivity. She can say “I am the best idol!” without any self-consciousness.

Since leaving her hometown to chase her dream, she has went to and failed several auditions but never gave up, strongly persevering. Even after becoming an idol, she tends to mess up often, forgetting dance steps or lyrics, but doesn’t worry too hard and keeps moving forward.

In game, she’s known for having a very cute and “outrageously stylish” image, which fits her perfectly to be a center for an idol unit. Her fashion takes very accessible pre-existing styles like various “girly” substyles and makes a visually clean and unique style that is hers.

Kogane’s clothes heavily flatter her figure, such as a cinched waist, above-te-knee dresses/skirts to show her long legs, and tops that accentuate her bust. Contrary to assumptions, she doesn’t wear clothes to impress others, but just because she likes the clothes she wears.

She actually has a sizeable complex about her body type, not liking comments on it or being stared at/touched. Many agencies offered to produce her as a gravure idol, but she turned all of them down. Kogane has even wished to have a smaller frame/body type like Yuika’s.

Though some elements of her fashion are mature, there is a pureness in it seen in the styles it is based off of, especially the “girly” substyles. It balances many contrasting elements (e.g. cute and elegant, pure and mature, sexy and modest) which is quite commendable.

Though Kogane has such a positive outlook on life, she is not without insecurities. Perhaps as a side-effect of failing auditions due to being a “normal cute girl one can find anywhere,” she sometimes desires traits of others, like Kiriko’s gentleness and Sakuya's dependability.

Despite this, Kogane doesn’t change herself to appease anyone and wants to fulfill her dreams by being her authentic self. This can be seen visually in how her style evolves over time, keeping the same elements (e.g. silhouette, composition, color) constant with subtle changes.

Kogane has one of the most consistent styles out of all the idols, a testament to being a steady pillar of support for L’Antica. If you look at all of her outfits, there is little variation in categories like color, composition, fabric, or design elements.

One variation is how her silhouette changes subtly over time. Her first outfits were very girly and featured more tacky design elements but slowly started to become more clean, elegant, and mature. Her bottoms got less volume but longer, leading to a more linear silhouette.

Symbolically, this stands for her character growth through being an idol. While her positive & strong-minded personality doesn’t change much, her newfound relationships with her unit members & Producer have changed her worldview tremendously, hence a mature albeit subtle change.

Additionally, due to her family owning a restaurant, she is very skilled in cooking and often cooks for others as a sign of affection. This is a probable reason why there’s 1950’s housewife influence in her fashion, symbolizing her hospitality and love for taking care of others.

Overall, Kogane's fashion style is simple but effective, transmitting her traits of unyielding positivity and cutesy perseverance well. Though it doesn't change much compared to other characters, it shows her commitment to stay true to herself and her subtle development & growth.

The Yuri Manga Post

From when I first came across yuri manga a decade ago, followed by a long break from it due to the excruciating longing I’d experience reading about girls loving girls while not experiencing it myself, I’d been wanting to get back to reading yuri manga again. The loneliness hasn’t gone anywhere, but my love towards girls and girls loving girls has remained, and I’ve wanted to take part in it once more.

What got me started was Hanamonogatari by schwinn. People were hyping it up on twitter as old woman yuri, and not just yuri involving a grown adult, but an actual grandmother. So far only 2 chapters have been translated, so I don’t have a whole lot to say about the series. It’s a nice change of pace to read about someone in their 60′s, and it’s wholesome to see how they discover make-up as a new hobby and the salesperson as a new romantic interest. Life doesn’t end after your 20′s, y’all!

This inspired me to check out what else is popular these days, and one of the first works I saw recommended was Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete by Akihiro Ononaka, which is the polar-opposite to Hanamonogatari. It’s about a young girl who adores magical girls, but ends up becoming a villain forced to fight them. Her new alter-ego is sadistic and enjoys teasing and torturing her opponents. The manga feels like a combination of Douman Seiman’s works and Kill la Kill, the way it’s stylized with high contrasts and contains plenty of wacky, sexy comedy that takes things just a little too far for comfort. Personally I love it. It’s not a manga for everyone, and I wish it would start wrapping up soon after 9 volumes, before it starts repeating itself too much. It’s been one of the most refreshing manga I’ve read in a while, a funny parody with an amazing artstyle, even if it also contains some... questionable scenes.

Looking at more conventional works, I picked up Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko ja Nakatta by Agu. It’s about a high school girl who falls for a guy as they bond over similar tastes in music, but as the title suggests, it turns out the guy’s actually a girl and her classmate (disguised in her casual/alternative style). The manga releases on twitter, and it’s been a fun exercise for me to keep up with it in Japanese. The twitter releases have also allowed Agu to use some colour, adding lime green to the traditional black and white, which makes the manga stand out and look really cool. The art itself is great too, both girls are super cute with their own distinctive styles. I like seeing how their relationship develops and I’m glad that it doesn’t dwell on the initial misunderstanding for too long. I will say that it’s a shame to be caught up with the story, since each weekly update is only 4 pages long and I’d rather read this in one go.

Next, I picked up Kakeochi Girl by Battan, since it was recent and renowned, with gorgeous covers. It’s about a woman who runs into her old high school sweetheart again after 10 years. While she never got over her, her old lover is now about to get married to a man, and have his baby. I wasn’t a huge fan of this manga. I thought it was sad how the main girl hadn’t been able to move on and felt stuck with her life for so long, while her romantic interest was stuck making bad decisions. I also didn’t like how the husband was portrayed as a villain of comical proportions. I think there’s value to the story which explores what comphet does to a woman, but it’s not something I care to read about when men become too central to the story. I also have conflicting feelings about the art. The covers, illustrations and some pages were absolutely gorgeous, and I love how Battan portrays different feelings, especially whenever something’s a little scary, but exciting, with tingles and sparks, but I’m not a huge fan of her style when it comes to the eyes and other facial features, which is a stylistic choice for her and a personal preference of mine.

I gave Battan another chance with Ane no Yuujin, since I couldn’t resist the enthralling, sensual cover. I liked it better than Kakeochi Girl, and it helped me appreciate the art more, thanks to her excellent portrayal of longing and joy. I was about to say that I liked the characters better too, but now that I think about it, I’m not sure I did. I think the fact that this was much shorter and focused on more characters masked it for me. I don’t think Battan’s works are for me, but I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who do love them for good reason!

I continued my yuri journey with another work I’d seen and heard much about, Sayonara Rose Garden by Dr. Pepperco. It’s about a Japanese maid who works for an English noblewoman, set in England in the early 1900′s. My first impression was that Dr. Pepperco is a genius for this setting and combination of aesthetics, with the Japanese maid dressing in kimono off-duty (!!!). The manga is beautifully drawn, and I enjoyed both main characters, but unfortunately a man had to get between them as well. It makes sense considering the setting, but it’s still not something I enjoy reading about, so my initial excitement was dulled out after the first volume. Overall it was a good read with great art, but because of my high expectations and slight disappointment, it didn’t end up as a favourite of mine.

After getting worried about not finding any more good yuri to read, I was happy to discover Ikemen Girl to Hakoiri Musume by Mochi au Lait and majoccoid. It’s another manga where one girl mistakes her classmate for a man and falls for them. Here the girl confesses right at the start, the other one accepts as a joke, and they end up dating while the misunderstandings are still at play. The girl who was mistaken for a man is incredibly sympathetic and a whole mood (TM), while her girlfriend is super bubbly and sweet. The manga is light-hearted and funny, and I wish I could find something similar to this, since it’s been one of my favorites.

Next up I read Yuunagi Marbled and Kimi Koi Limit by Momono Moto. Yuunagi Marbled was a tad bit on the edgy side, but still an okay read. Kimi Koi Limit had a real mess of a main character, which I enjoyed immensely, since I’ve been looking for something like that in yuri works. After all these stories about women who suddenly end up in lesbian relationships, or who have to hide the fact they want to be in them, it was refreshing to read about women who were open and assertive about their interests. I can’t say either of these works left a strong impression on me beyond that, but I found the girls cute and they were easy enough to read.

Then I went on to read Papa no Sexy Doll by Kajikawa Gaku. Look. The title is questionable. And the manga is indeed about a girl and her dad both having some sort of relationship with an android to get over the loss of the girls’ mother. I checked it out because I read something else by the same author, which left me curious about what else they’d done. Then I wanted to check what Papa no Sexy Doll could possibly be about, since it wasn’t marked as r-18. It was a pleasant surprise to see that it was yuri, and I actually got attached to the main character, who’s a young girl going through a rough patch with her crush/girlfriend and seeking solace (not necessarily sexual, but also that kind of comfort) from the titular doll. There are only a few chapters out and it’s still ongoing, but so far it’s been a nice story about loss and the pains of growing up. I can’t recommend it for everyone, but it’s been a pleasant surprise for sure.

To continue with more questionable works, I was excited to give Kyou wa Kanojo ga Inai kara by Iwami Kiyoko a try, based on the gorgeous art and a powerful line I randomly came across and had to fish out the source for. Like the title suggests, it’s about a girl in a lesbian relationship, but said girlfriend is still in the closet afraid to show any sort of affection towards her in public. Furthermore, she keeps ignoring her in favour of club activities, which leaves our main girl sad and lonely. A third girl shows up, and with a few pushes, the main girl starts two-timing her girlfriend. I love how horrible the girls are, and how easy it is to see what drove them to be the way they are. The art is to die for, and although I can’t recommend such a controversial topic to everyone, it’s been one of my favorites. The manga is still ongoing, with 4 volumes currently, and things are heating up!

After reading all these popular and currently talked-about series, and not finding that much more looking though what’s popular, I discovered the greatness of Interest Stacks on MAL. There were a few collections with titles and covers that looked intriguing, and I started reading older works, with the oldest being Maya no Souretsu by Ichijo Yukari, published in 1972. I love the 70′s shoujo manga style, and the story was a tragic wild-ride about loss and revenge.

From there I kinda fell down the rabbit hole that was 90′s josei. Some of the yuri works I read were Love Vibes and Sheets no Sukima by Erica Sakurazawa. They are both about messy relationships that involve a lot of sex and cheating, and while love between women was central for both, there was more action between women and men. Because I read other josei works from the same era before these two, I came in thinking it was cool to see women be active and forward, so I didn’t mind it, but I do think Sheets no Sukima in particular suffered from not developing the relationship between the two women further. The ending was incredibly unsatisfying and abrupt, even if it could be seen as realistic and tragic in a way I usually love, because it reflects how uncertain and unsatisfying real life can be. I definitely preferred Love Vibes out of the two, where the feelings were more clear and reciprocated. Both works had a charming artstyle, and the girls were cute so it was nice reading them.

Back to the present day, although ready to take a journey into the past, I continued with Yume no Hashibashi by Sudou Yumi. It’s about two women in their mid-80′s who have been in love with each other since they were 14/15, but unable to be with each other due to various societal reasons. The manga starts with them in their old age and progresses backwards in time, with each chapter giving us a small glimpse of the choices they made and the feelings they had throughout different periods in their lives. It’s quite an interesting structure, and I loved seeing what drove the characters to make the decisions they did, when I already knew what they would lead to, and to see what prevented them from choosing to be with each other throughout the years. I wasn’t sure what to think of it based on the first two chapters, but I was crying as I reached the end. It was tragic, yet beautiful, and what hurts the most is how there are people out there who have gone through similar experiences. This was another favourite of mine and I highly recommend it, with the warning that it’s a heartbreaking read. I’d love to read more yuri by this mangaka, but unfortunately I couldn’t find much else.

Following these, I read Nettai Shoujo by Yoshitomi Akihito. I picked it up after reading Balance Policy, also by him, thanks to the nice cover art. Balance Policy contained some yuri as well, which would ordinarily be a nice bonus, except here it was paired with some of the most absurd ideas of how women work I’ve come across in a long time (weird stuff about periods etc.). Along with some other choices, it was quite obvious it was written by a man. I don’t think gender should prevent you from writing whatever, and I can even appreciate yuri that’s created for the male gaze, but oh man does it hurt when it’s combined with bad writing. Both Balance Policy and Nettai Shoujo got me though, since they depict summer in the countryside, which is one of my biggest weaknesses when it comes to manga settings, especially paired with queer themes. Nettai Shoujo is a collection of shorts around that theme, and it delivers, save for a couple instances where you can clearly tell it was written by a man, and a few “but I’m a girl” lines, which I didn’t know I’d come to dislike as much as I now do. In their defence, it was written in 2007, so I can’t be too mad about it.

It was only after reading Nettai Shoujo that I realised Yoshitomi Akihito is the man behind Blue Drop. I’ve read one or two installations from the series and I’ve always wanted to read through them all, so I’m now stuck in this weird love-hate relationship with Yoshitomi Akihito and his works. I’ve gotten quite busy, so I haven’t had the time to read more than the first (original) volume so far. I love the art and the sci-fi setting of lesbian aliens taking over Earth, but it feels aged and contains gratuitous fanservice, which I don’t enjoy. The girls are either undressing themselves at weird moments, too often, or it’s done to them in a way which feels exploitative. I’ll read and reread the rest of Blue Drop, and I’ll probably check out the anime too, but for now, I no longer have the time. Pride month is coming to an end too, so this shall be it for my big yuri manga review.

Kris has a cyan soul

Okay, hear me out hear me out hear me out.

This is very long and I spent way too much time thinking about this, but I promise it makes sense if you read the whole thing.

In Undertale, and presumably in Deltarune as well, human souls correspond to a trait or main aspect of that human's personality. For example, a very kind human would have a green soul. There may be soul colors other than the ones we encounter in Undertale, but for right now all we have to work with is red = determination, green = kindness, cyan = patience, blue = integrity, purple = perseverance, orange = bravery, and yellow = justice. The humans who have these souls may exhibit these traits very well or just value them a lot. My theory is about the connection between soul colors and personality. Everything about people, including their core values, can change overtime, so it stands to reason that a human's soul color could change over time as well in the Undertale/Deltarune universe. A human who was previously very brave might go through a traumatic event that makes them scared of everything, someone might be impatient as a child and grow to be more patient as they age, etc. It is also possible that a soul's color changes when it is taken over by another being. The player is basically a god in this videogame world and has infinitely more determination than any of the other characters because they know it's just a game, a game that they'll keep playing over and over again, and their will to do that keeps the character they're controlling alive. So it's entirely possible that Kris had a different soul color before we took over and made it red through our determination. Also notice the difference in game over screens between Undertale and Deltarune. In Undertale there is a flashback of Asgore talking to Chara, and the player respawns at their last save point. In Deltarune, however, there is a choice.

I think Frisk originally had a red soul, and our determination just added to theirs, which is why there is no choice in Undertale. The combination of Frisk's natural determination and our control turns them into a literal immortal that cannot be killed. It would make sense if Kris originally didn't have determination as their key trait, because they can only survive through our choice. In Deltarune we are the ones with the determination, and only we can decide if Kris continues on. From what we know of Kris, they also don't act determined at all. They have almost no friends, don't do well in school, have very few hobbies, and have literally nothing on their side of the room. They seem to generally be very apathetic, and dialogue from those who have known Kris for a long time suggests that they've always been like this. Apathy isn't exactly the opposite of determination, but it's pretty close. Kris just doesn't strike me as a very determined person.

The main hole in this theory that I've been thinking about is Chara. I know there are like a bazillion theories on this, but I've always personally thought that Kris is just the Deltarune counterpart to Chara, not a combination of Chara and Frisk. Kris is more tan because they grew up aboveground and Chara grew up underground, Kris changed their hairstyle when they got older, and they became depressed and stopped smiling after their parents divorce/Asriel leaving for college/Dess's disappeareance/a combination of all three. If Kris is an alternate version of Chara, though, then why is Chara's soul red?

This is when we return to the idea that different events can change someone's personality, and consequently, their soul color. We know very little about Chara before they fell down into the Underground, but the little bit we do know makes me feel inclined to believe they weren't a very determined person.

Asriel implies that Chara was attempting to commit suicide when they climbed Mt. Ebott. He also says that they "hated humanity." It seems as though Chara had very bad experiences with humans that led them to resent humanity and to experience suicidal thoughts, presumably at a young age, since Chara is stated several times to be a child. Deciding to just give up and end it all, though, isn't very determined. It's entirely possible that Chara had a different soul color before climbing the mountain, and that their experiences with monsters is what changed their soul to red. Chara cared deeply about the monsters that had adopted them to such an extent that they were willing to poison themselves just to free everyone underground. It was their love for the monsters that made them determined to free them and that changed their soul color. Kris, who had grown up with a loving family and never had a reason to save or fight for anyone, would not have experienced this soul change in Deltarune, and would have had Chara's original soul color until we took control.

So why cyan?

Well...it's complicated, and the evidence is tangential at best. The real core of this theory is that Kris had a soul color other than red; it doesn't really matter what that soul color is. However, there's more evidence pointing towards cyan than any other color we know of.

For one, there's their skin in the dark world.

The cyan soul is exactly the same color as their skin. That's...kind of weird. Not really evidence, but it is interesting.

There's also the way Kris acts. We know cyan represents patience, and out of the seven soul colors, that seems to be the one that fits Kris best. There's the fact that they're waiting for Asriel to come home from college, for one. And, as previously mentioned, they act very apathetic. This could be less of an "I don't care what happens" and more of an "I'd rather wait for good things to come to me instead of seeking them out myself," which could be interpreted as either laziness or patience.

Finally, there's the Valentines day newsletter. Mettaton's card has cyan souls in the corner for literally no reason.

Why are they there. Why are there cyan souls in the corner. Wtf.

Toby Fox could have chosen ANY SOUL COLOR to put in the corner of that valentine. He could've done pink if he didn't want it to be mistaken as a soul color from Undertale, but no. They're cyan.

WHY.

This is a whole 'nother can o' worms, but...there's also Gaster's letter.

There are sooooo many theories about this that I do not want to get into, but it does contain something relevant.

Is addressed to Kris? It uses second-person pronouns like in Deltarune whenever Kris does something. "If YOU squint your eyes, and, YOU squint your heart."

No idea. Honestly my hands hurt from too much typing, and there are people out there waaay smarter than me who can figure out what the hell this means, so...have fun. You can propose other theories or disagree with me, but please be respectful.
