even though quality time sometimes get scarce because class A is hectic

although I will say you make as much time for each other as possible

but izuku is really busy and spends a lot of energy in the day

As we saw in some episodes he goes to sleep as soon as he makes it in his room

but he does his best!

if I hadn't slept at 4am last night and played for 8h today I would do more, here is my recap

I GOT THE FUCKING LEVELS BUT THE ACHIEVEMENT DIDN'T PROC

on the bright side because Siffrin's at max I get to obliterate everything in sight and that makes fighting funnier

OVER 1000 ERASED SADNESSES. I AM GOD /silly

obliterated the King very easily (forgot I had the bomb too but shhh)

and flames and flood that glitch effect. oh by the stars above. oh wow. YES. but also that was spooky despite me having been spoiled for that

the fact that the smell of burnt sugar was so prominent and yet Siffrin hasn't commented at all on the nostalgie (AND THE TEARS???) smelling sweet is driving me up the wall

ghost jumpscare is very fun, I read through the achievements but seeing one still gives me the urge to just go "WHAT THE FUCK."

season four disc two! ("quo vadis, captain chandler" to "dear ma")

there is a LOT going on in the frank and margaret department

i kind of tipped my hand here when i posted about my new obsession, but even if you are not circling the drain on this doomed ship... the Unresolved Breakup Tension is fuckin WILD in this disc

she literally punches him in the face!!! how was that not a breakup!

but then he buys her something or does something to charm or impress her, and it works! then he blows it again!! rinse and repeat!!!! i am 👀🍿

sam and diane from cheers are still theeee platonic ideal of slap-slap-kiss but these clowns definitely walked so they could run

i literally jumped off the couch when his wife found out, aaaaa it's so juicy

I'M SORRY i realize this doesn't speak well of me as a person, but those long close-ups on her face as she voluntarily eavesdrops on him dismissing their relationship (twice!!) and her heart gets fully crushed??? i could eat popcorn to this all day.

this is the kind of dysfunctional relationship that my artist friends would choose in our youth so that we could Suffer and Make Art, so i really hope margaret is writing terrible poetry about it

anyway, we're peroxide-roots deep into GIRL WHY??!??

and then bj very gently explains to radar that well, see, frank and margaret both kinda suck and we're in the middle of nowhere, so they're all they've got

and i had to spend three or four days staring at the ceiling about it, because YEAH. it's not just that they're each other's only rank-appropriate source of star-spangled orgasms

(and they both care far more about military hierarchy than they do about marital fidelity)

but they are so consistently unkind to everyone around them that they have no other choice for any human connection full stop.

i'm not even talking about their ongoing bullying war with hawkeye and trapper or bj, because that's dirty pool on both sides, but i could count on one hand the number of times either of them have interacted with a subordinate nurse or enlisted man without threatening them. like they literally would not have anyone else to talk to.

but the reveal that she still wants to MARRY HIM? oh god. ohhhh honey. noooo.

that fake proposal prank was so genuinely mean. mostly because they ruined her hot date! 👏 let 👏 margaret 👏 fuck 👏 random 👏 dudes 👏

OKAY i swear i can talk about other things:

hawkeye continues to just NOT pull without trapper here. the nurses are fully dismissing or ignoring his efforts, and honestly is he even trying that hard?? have we seen him get even one date?

i've been trying to come up with an "intricate rituals" joke about hawkeye and trapper but where the rituals are... girls. you get me.

i re-watched the pilot and the desk ep (for frank/margaret reasons DON'T JUDGE ME), and hawkeye and trapper LITERALLY end the pilot handcuffed together, and in the next episode talk about sharing a nurse. how am i supposed to take this???

speaking of nurses, you know that little 🙄 you have to ignore in 2024 whenever the women on m*a*s*h get called honey and sweetheart and baby on the job (though tbh i worked on a construction site and an ad sales office in the 2010's and got the same treatment -- but in the modern day it's done ironically babe)

BUT when potter calls margaret "good girl" after he gets shot??? total opposite feeling. i literally had to pause and take a moment. he's her dad now.

also when he tucks radar in???? everyone's dad actually

in loving memory of radar's other dad though, two important points:

how proud would henry have been of drunk & disorderly radar??

and henry's "i've always wondered if i might be radar's dad" bit is genuinely 900% funnier now that we know radar's mom looks EXACTLY like him.

i don't think i have ever circled back to talk about klinger, who became so so so awesome

it's so funny that in klinger's very first appearance and 30 times since then, he has been told straight up that wearing women's clothes will never work to get him out of the army. there's no explanation for his commitment to this particular form of passive resistance except that he genuinely loves it

the swamp rats built a still and klinger got a sewing machine and learned a craft. he's so good at it!! his looks are 🔥

i feel uncomfortable when i see him in fatigues tbh. it happened a few times in this disc and i would like it to Stop actually

also precious baby father mulcahey... Protect Him.

i LOVE that everyone showed up for his church service when the grand poobah chaplain was in town. they love each other!!! (also the life magazine jeep shoot!!!)

"quo vadis, captain chandler" was really good. i'm still over colonel flagg's whole deal but i now understand why everyone loves sidney freedman, and the guest actor they had playing not-jesus was incredible

bj continues to be the best little brother hawkeye could have asked for

also he maybe invented cpr?

i didn't say much about him here but I LOVE HIM and also his off-screen wife

Okay so my fave (personal I haven’t seen anyone else do this exact idea tho one or two did similar but in ways I didn’t like) idea for the whole ‘duelsex Stewjoni’ biology idea is that both ‘parts’ are active at all times in the sense that they both function but that you can actively change your gender with a quick hormone treatment that just asks your body to start producing the other one (if you have estrogen it convinces you to make testosterone and the opposite) because that is a much better idea to me because how the fuck are they gonna know the child’s gender or whatever before puberty other than asking??? The simple answer is: it 1000000% doesn’t matter and you just refer to everyone by what they tell you to because that’s literally the best. They don’t GET transphobia because that’s just natural to sometimes change genders lol.

Anyways. Because of that their species is MOSTLY (not all because like calling all clones brothers, Bam really hates transphobia it makes me wanna give you pinkeye) are all she/they or he/they or they/they. It’s rarer for neopronouns but it’s more common than the rest of the galaxy, and super mega rare to be he/him or she/her.

Anyways. What I’m saying. Is that I wanna write a fic where it starts when Obi-Wan is 14 (so I’m mixing it with the AU idea I had where Obi and Satine are younger than canon cause I think it would have been 5000% funnier and also Jaster and Jango would still be alive fight me) and goes to Mandalore but she’s been transitioned (temporarily, because like, I want genderfluid or genderqueer characters like I am so gimme dat) for the past two months and 1: this means that Qui-Gon has to deal with baby lesbians instead of baby crush okay they’re both girls they def 100% think they’re soulmates and tbh they might be but it’s sickening he’s obsessed with them he keeps giving them cute outfits and taking pics to send to Dooku to annoy him about his grand baby’s first crush and 2: Jaster and Jango come crashing into the scene halfway through saying they think they found where Death Watch took Bo-Katan so come on let’s go it’s time to go pick up everyone up and Jaster adopts Satine and Bo and Obi-Wan was adopted by a Nexu momma and has a nexu brother now. She’s fully feral and keeps chirping and mewing at people and it’s so cute.

Hi lumi <3 sorry to hear you've got the flu but I hope you feel better! You just get Ghost's voice and character right and I wanted to know how you do this so well? In and out of the military setting, you just get it and I love reading whatever you write for him!

oh my god, this is so kind and I am beyond flattered??? flu-ridden lumi thanks you for the ego boost!

Re: Ghost's "voice." Hmm, I'm not really sure how it works myself, tbh. I obv have moments where I'm oscillating between would he say this? or would he speak at all? and I think it takes a fair bit of practice. I'm really glad you resonate with the voice I've chosen for him, but I think I've found it's more important to be consistent within the context you've set, more than anything.

For example, I don't think a verbose, expressive Ghost makes sense within what little we've seen in the canon, but at the same time, we see him be a little more open, a little funnier, when he lets his guard down. Both are equally Ghost, but the context is key.

I also read a lot of Ghost fics to help me re-contextualise, so that obv helps as well. If you're interested, I recommend authors like @/ceilidho, @/peachesofteal, @/kneelingshadowsalome, @/yeyinde and @/sprout-fics. They really have his voice down, but in any case, their works make for wonderful reading! In particular, I think Lev (@/yeyinde) nails Ghost's body language as well!

Hairo is the most likely and reasonable option to choose out of all the Saiki K men. We all know how Saiki reacts to others trying to date him. Nendo's oblivious, and Kaido is very kind but hes not ready for romance. Toritsuka is.... Toritsuka. Saiko tries to buy people. Aren is too much of a try-hard. I can't really imagine how Touma or Satou would be relationships. Hairo is the most respectful and compassionate man in Saiki K. He listens to people and speaks whats on his mind (even if its a little blunt). He can be much but thats ok

he's the most normal and least worst

he is so supportive and even if hes rlly intense he would be such a good bf

he's nice. & hot i guess (if you're into that)

Side characters think Saiki is bland, Nendo is so ugly that nobody will give him a chance (:() , Kaido has his whole chuuni side to him which is annoying for most (:(), Hairo is Hairo, Toritsuka is Toritsuka, Saiko would probably be third place because of his money status but he is still insufferable to a lot of people, side characters know that Satou is bland (though that could be a good thing who knows, he is my 2nd place) and Akechi would just talk and talk and talk which most people would find annoying. Kuboyasu is pretty good at masking his delinquent side nowadays and has become just an average guy who isn't bland. Some people also prefer bad boys, so there's that I guess.

He could drive me around with his motorbike and could wrestle with me, that's really all i need in life. If powerless Saiki could still ride a motorbike he'd be my second choice, because we actually have a lot in common. Or maybe that's not a good thing…

His lover doesn't have to worry about about him 24/7, knowing that Aren can restraint himself and stay out trouble, he only ever really gets into fights with people that are awful. Also I need more Akechi ramble, I like those, got me interested in blood-type personality pseudo-science influence in japan, and since Akechi asked people to not harass him because of his blood type, it would mean that he is likely not type A (+and-). His purple eyes also implies that he has actually some supernatural skills, since traditional folktales associate this with eyes colored purple. It is also a deep dark purple. Interestingly, his pupils dilates whenever he goes into rambling mode. This is to be noted, people in sknpn dilates their people when they're furiously crazy (see Kurumi). Crazy Akechi? I am all here for it. Also he would be useful if I want to blackmail someone, so I would of course try my best to be on his side. I am not the brightest person in the world, but I am not stupid either. Next would be Kaidou. Kaidou is a totally relatable dude, since I have the same weight and same height as him (159cm and 45kg). Kaidou has a normal caring mom, who is overbearing but very well care about him genuinely. He is the only mom who Kusuo has never say anything negative about (Midori being a ""capitalist pig"", Kurumi being ""an idiot""). I would do anything to have his mom as my mom, though my mom is good enough, just a little bit more physical. Kaidou is also basically as weak as me (sadly), and would share a passion for hating sport. I am interested in drawing his fantasies and would happily be with him, since he is a sweet, pure, genuine person. Because Kuniharu is a taken man, and, though sweet, a tad pathetic. Iguchi Takumi is prejudged as a pervert every day by society and still he doesn't let it get in the way of providing the best guidance he can to his students. He is fair, not a pushover, not over strict, gives second chances and forgives children easily for the mistakes children usually make. He's patient, respectful, has never been condescending to the students, goes up and above in his dedication to his work. These are all qualities of a high quality man. He works in his true passion, and I bet he'd do his very best to maintain a healthy work/life balance if he finds someone to share his life with. His students would probably go first, but a man with such ironclad priorities is also respectable and admirable.

Already answered, but! I provide another Early Fanfic Fact abt myself: my friends and I in middle school and into early high school had a shared notebook (s) for MCR fanfiction. Just those cheap crappy thin ones from like, Wal-Mart, but we could have a bunch on hand as we filled each one up lol. We passed those around, everyone either adding onto in progress fics (with original author's permission), or just adding nice comments or little drawings (we were a bunch of goth/emo kids in the aughts, so. Not so skilled anime style portraits of various band members/anime characters, that one weird S that I think everyone learned how to do.)

Tbh, probably all of you guys, yourself very much included Ella lol. Depending on exactly how badly I've fucked up, we might need a variety of skills, variety of access to a variety of things. Some people coordinating hiding the body, others helping me figure out a disguise, some working on plane, train, etc tickets and finding places for me to hide. In return, I'll only mildly jeopardize my hiding places by sending u guys cool stuff that I think you'll like from wherever I am at the time jfadlskjadjal. This is the one situation where I'm aware actually having a lot of ppl involved would be a bad idea, but it's funnier for the bit to imagine this like some Ocean's/Kingsman level of silly shit after I accidentally kill someone (at least one person is dedicated to just keeping me from panicking abt that tbh lmao.)

There's a much larger full list tho of course, that includes music too which immediately adds several miles to said list lol.

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

Honestly? if it's touted as the 'most perfect' or 'only correct characterisation' or other similar 'this fic is the Only Fic Ever don't read anything else from this fandom' vibes.

I've found that fics like that aren't necessarily bad, some are lovely! But they don't tend to live up to all the hype every time, and I feel. Weird. Abt having that high of expectations vs being able to go in more neutral, or like, a fic that I've had one or two ppl recommend to me.

I always worry talking abt this, bc really, less popular vs more popular fics aren't a 'one is better than the other' situation, at least not to me. I've read some amazing, very popular fics, and I've read some that had barely twenty kudos that still live rent free in my head just as much as the former. It just kinda depends, but, that said, I still have a harder time going into the 'BNF' (hate that term) fics than others.

I have other things that'll make me back out of a fic, but this is one that's come up the most in the last couple of years in particular for me when fic-reading/searching for fic to read lol.

Aaah thank you for answering me~ Tbh I'm used to seeing Childe using his harbinger position to snatch his civilian darling, so I thought, "What if his darling's under someone more powerful than he is ?", Which leads to Tsaritsa's handmaiden reader ! Reader's lucky that she's Tsaritsa's favorite so Childe couldn't really blackmail or kidnap the reader. So what they have is that game of cat and mouse just like you said~

I know what you mean, and it’s definitely a fun idea, though I think it should never change from the cat and mouse game into something like “Childe finally gets to kidnap reader” because it’s much funnier to just watch him go apeshit crazy trying to get to them. Even if he briefly manages to pin reader down, they still escape him in the end and the game continues xD

Also the Tsaritsa is probably an obstacle he can’t overcome and if she wants her handmaiden back, well tough luck.

Poor Pierro getting bothered about something as unconcerning as a handmaiden that Childe seems to have taken a liking to xD

Still, he probably has some overall information like: Where do the servants reside? What do they do on their off-days since they are strictly under surveillance? How can you access surveillance duty? etc. xD It helps Childe’s endeavors a little, but regardless of what he’s trying, since it’s her Majesty’s favorite handmaiden, reader is probably excepted from the norm xD

He’d definitely come to stalk around rooms he isn’t supposed to and gets dragged out by one Harbinger or another more than he likes while he’s “investigating”. The Tsaritsa is probably not bewildered but also not amused that he’s getting into her drawers in the search of information, and he will be harshly reprimanded for the few documents he stole from her study xD

But he’s too good of a boy to actually get kicked to the curb, lets be real.

Oh, imagine even worse, like the Tsaritsa talking to her handmaiden while getting a bath, and Childe overhearing that while he’s snooping. Good on him for not being found drooling at the bathroom door for his elusive darling but also bad manners x10

Or when the Tsaritsa is meeting her Harbingers and the reader just has to pass on information so they suddenly appear and whisper into the Tsaritsa’s ear and Childe is just shaking violently in his position, asking if he can be excused as reader disappears and everyone in the room just exhaustedly saying, “No.”

Definitely a new memory burned into his brain that he’ll imagine over and over at night, laying in his bed, or while killing enemies, lol.

Just finished my rewatch and it’s swinging even more in favour of being my favourite show and it definitely might be the *best* show

The opening sets the tone so well but also, pleasantly surprised how long it took someone to die once we get into the show for real!

I do wish we could have got more of bryce but her onstage debut with them is so fun and she’s SO good

The title projection is COOL AF. I can’t remember if tcb said how they knew/found Joey but the lighting design of this show 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

28 - Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?

something that really helps me personally is music. it’s such a vital part of my fic writing process and I probably consider it just as important as outlining tbh. when I’m in the brainstorming process, or even after I’ve already come up with the idea and am outlining, I’ll just shuffle through the literal 8000 songs I have downloaded and just start throwing the vibes i’m looking for into a playlist. then whenever I think about the fic I listen to that playlist (or add songs to it). THEN, when I want to get into the mood to write, or if I’m having trouble feeling inspired for a particular fic, I just open up its playlist and it kickstarts my little fic daydreaming that’s soooo vital to my silly little fic writing process 😌🪄

I already did 36 but I forgot to share the fic title i’m most proud of anddddddd hmmmmmm OH okay I had to go glance at the List and I think “The Almost Quiet” is my favorite because I actually did some vague research for that fic and that’s where I found the term. I also have a soft spot for the names of all the call of the night stories, and you know nothing will ever be funnier than us coming up with dark noon and euphoria and agony. that’s still so goddamn funny to me 🫶🏻

unraveled au master post because I'm bored and I don't want to do school (also known as me info dumping about my silly little separated turtles for an ungodly amount of time)

After Draxum’s lab exploded, Splinter grabbed the turtles, just like in the show, but he dropped Raph on the outskirts of the Hidden City, who ended up being found by Malicious Mickey and raised by the Mud Dogs. Splinter gets to the surface and places the three remaining turtles in a box and goes to find food but gets recaptured by Big Mama. (wandered a little close to the lion's den [her hotel]) Mikey and Leo escape the box and wander off, (Donnie is asleep so he doesn't follow them) being found by Tim Dunkman, (the crazy basketball billionaire from the Air Turtle episode) who sells Mikey to Jessica Jacyln (the referee from the wrestling episode) and keeps Leo for himself. Eventually Alex Noe (The dentist from the todd scouts episode) finds Donnie alone in a box crying his tiny little heart out and brings him home to raise him.

Personalities:

Leo was raised with little worth other than publicity and as a money maker, which had Leo end up as not only a rich kid, but an insecure people pleasing anxious rich kid who hides behind money, ego, and his stupid fucking sunglasses. he's (and Mikey, tbh) big with always trying to keep his image up, so he doesn't get mauled by media. This means that while Raph and Donnie are totally okay with breaking the law on the surface (No consequences, Donnie lives in the woods and Raph lives in the hidden city), Leo is strongly against it.

Raph was raised as a ruthless criminal, but he still has his morals and high empathy. He won't rob orphanages or schools with his dads and likely tried to adopt stray animals a lot (didn't really work out most of the time) He's the only one who really remembers his brothers, but it's a really faint memory, more like "I feel like there's other things like me out there" then "I have brothers." He's constantly on the lookout for other turtles (And used to attend the battle nexus regularly, but the feeling of recognition he got from looking at the rat-man champion freaked him out and he stopped)

Donnie is like, actually insane with the dentists. He really embraced his evil scientist side growing up, but more evil dentist. A lot of experiments and accidents with his teeth happened when he was younger, and now his teeth are all fucked up and weird, so he wears a facemask 24/7 to hide it. He's my insane little blorbo, on instinct he checks everyone's mouth the SECOND he meets them and has absolutely zero qualms about just stickin his hands in there (He always has clean three fingered gloves and hand sanitizer handy). He also has no qualms about anesthetizing and kidnapping anyone he meets that has unique teeth. (This is how he meets Raph for the first time)

Mikey is similar to Leo in a lot of ways, except since he's the huge champion of Jessica's ring, he relies more on his fighting/wrestling skills. It's basically what he's built his whole personality on. he will attack anyone on sight if they give the slightest sign of attacking. (this is how him and Donnie's first meeting goes)

Since I thought it was kind of an impossible coincidence that all the turtles in this au would get the same Renaissance names, I gave them all different ones and tbh I think this coincidence is funnier.

Leo: Tim literally just named him after the basketball team. His given name is Viper. He nicknamed himself Leo and likes it better and usually introduces himself as it with certain new people, but his billboards and media and other shit call him Viper. (Including Tim)

Mikey: Given name is Micheal, but stage/wrestling name is Divino and he’s so attached to it that he just introduces himself as Divino most of the time.

Raph: Given name is Ruthless Raphael, and when he meets Donnie and tells him that Donnie’s like “Well that's way too long what If I just call you Raph” and Raph’s like “But :(((( The ruthless part :((((“ and donnie’s like “Okay compromise what if I call you Raph and it sounds the same but if you spell it out it’s RRaph with two r’s” and then RRaph’s cool with it

Donnie: Only one where his actual given name is Donatello, but he has a lot more titles. Since dentists are technically doctors he calls himself “Dr Donnie” (Even though he’s 1. Two young for any kind of certificate or doctorate 2. Wouldn’t be able to get one anyway (turtle) but it doesn’t really matter the whole dentist gang is super illegal anyway no one really cares) and he has a whole rehearsed introduction that he says every time he meets someone that goes kind of like “My name is Donatello, Dr Donnie, or Dentitello, but you can just call me Donnie” or something stupid like that. And the first time he meets Leo Leo interrupts him in the middle of it and Donnie is REALLY offended. (Dentitello is a nickname given to him by his little nephew)(I could ramble about his nephew and the relations between everyone in the dentist gang[although its more like a coven] but this is not the place)

Designs (Because I can't draw very well yet and I'm much better at describing things anyway):

Leo: Literally just a mini Dunkman (same sunglasses/gold rings n shit). He wears a similar outfit that he does in the Air Turtle episode but with a letterman jacket over it and without those stupid ugly ass fucking goggles.

RRaph: He has wrappings on his hands like HG and a red jacket like LL. He has a red bandana, but it’s tattered and dirty because 1. It was a gift from MM and he hardly ever takes it off and 2. It was ripped from an old t-shirt so it looks a little wonky and you can see some of the seams and the faded design that used to be on it. He wears it around his neck like a scarf, and has a red hat like Danny has on his head. He has a bunch of scars all over his arms and. Well. everywhere tbh (he lives on the streets with some of the most notorious criminals in the hidden city he’s gotta have gotten hurt multiple times) He also probably has parts of his shell broken or chipped off. Overall just very battle worn but he’s still a softie even though he won’t hesitate to kill you (As long as you’re not a child and have done something worth being killed) <3

Mikey: He really leans into the wrestler persona, to the point he wears his costume almost 24/7. His mask and gloves look a little something like these:

Except yk. a little more high quality and fitted to his unique turble body. (the gloves being more orange). He probably puts a bunch of gold and orange stickers on his shell and plastron to match the theme.

Donnie: His battle shell and all of his weapons are tooth/mouth themed. He got way into SFX makeup at one point when he was a kid and his magnum opus project he made while in that stage was his main battle shell that he wears around the dentists. he designed it basically to look like teeth are just growing out of his back while also giving significant protection. He has others but they're mostly plain purple or white. His goggles are more the same that they are in canon except less crooked and whiter.
