About Minato’s teammate. I think that they’re an uchiha. It’s a headcanon of mine lol
That’s a really popular fan theory, I think. Well, the most common theory I see is that his female teammate is specifically Mikoto and the male one is Teuchi the ramen guy (or sometimes even Fugaku). However the Minato oneshot basically disproves they’re any previously named characters:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t think the female teammate looks like Mikoto (and Mikoto likely is older than MinaKushi— remember Itachi was like five when Sasuke was born. Not impossible for her to have had him as a teen, but unlikely.) BUT I think headcanoning her as an unnamed Uchiha is reasonable. Like I think if Kishimoto intended it, he would have given her a sharingan here…. But he also didn’t give her a name, so I’m not sure he intended anything at all. It’s a reasonable headcanon.

Identity(V) Headcanons: Luca Balsa
Next up!
Again, I am new to the IDV fandom, and I have never played the game, so these headcanons are informed by my ongoing lore dives sourcing the wiki, japanese twitter responses, comics, stageplay, and more! Some of these may relate to or even contradict character backstory, and some of them are just pure vibes for me. If you like it, consider shooting a request ;)
Tumblr media
-So to start, I personally headcanon that Luca initiated the fight that led to the electrical accident. He’s always been hot-headed and impulsive, especially in regard to the source of his pride. I don’t think he intended for the confrontation with Alva to end anywhere near the way it did, but I do think he felt a good shove or two were well-warranted when he found out "his" ideas were being stolen. It’s when Alva fought back a little too viciously that the accident happened—and it well and truly was an accident. Not that it matters much when the only survivor doesn’t remember the event at all.
-He has headaches regularly, and terrible migraines at least once a week. He’s yet to find a way to relieve the migraines and, even worse, they are typically followed by an episode of more intense amnesia. Under normal circumstances, Luca’s memory problems are manageable. He doesn’t remember the accident, and there are massive blackouts in the memories beyond it, but on the average day he only struggles with small details of more recent events. During these post-migraine episodes, though, he completely loses all context for where he is, what he is doing, and who the people around him are. Most of the time, the important bits come back…but not always.
-Forgotten memories are also sometimes sporadically triggered by something mundane. A word, a texture, a sound, and suddenly he’s frozen stock-still in the face of a one-person cinematic viewing. By the time he turns to tell someone about it, though, the memory is gone again.
-To try to combat these issues, Luca keeps notebooks stashed everywhere. He writes down anything that might be important, as well as anything sentimental. The obvious issue with this, however, is that he doesn’t always remember where he keeps these notebooks.
-Despite his memory problems, his personality is largely in-tact. He maintains a lot of gentlemanly mannerisms and is cordial, if not outright friendly, to just about everyone he meets. Generally, he’s only “rude” in the sense that his attention tends to shift very abruptly.
-He’s the sort of person who appreciates variety. In people, food, scenery, just about everything. Part of why he gets along with so many people is because he can genuinely appreciate all manner of skillsets and hobbies. Likewise, to be a friend to him you only need to show appreciation for his work; understanding is not a requirement.
-It’s canon that he dislikes noise, but enjoys music. These might seem like clashing sentiments, but what it really comes down to is expected noise. Music can be relaxing, inspiring, rush-inducing! It holds your mind’s hand and hurries it along its thoughtful way. JUST noise is…chaotic, distracting, and sometimes startling. Plus, Luca likes being able to hum along while he works.
-It’s common to be static-zapped if you touch him. Long-term contact can even cause your hair to start standing on end. Unfortunately, it isn’t something he can control, so just be prepared to deal with it.
-The best Love Language to give Luca is Quality Time. He can honestly work with pretty much all of them, but Quality Time checks multiple boxes—especially if you’re good with parallel play. For one, he gets so busy with his work that it sometimes makes him feel guilty for neglecting the people he cares about. If you’re comfortable just hanging around his space, doing your own thing while he does his, it’s easier for him to check in with you between the erratic come-and-go of his thoughts. Those small bits of time add up, and he feels much better about his workaholic nature. Second, the more you permeate his memory, the less likely he feels he is to forget you. One of the few things he doesn’t struggle to remember is himself, his own name, and if you’re always there maybe it’ll be the same for you.
-He has trouble balancing his priorities. He often foregoes food, sleep, hygiene, and even his loved ones in favor of working on his invention. Sometimes he’s so absorbed in it that he doesn’t even understand the weight of hurtful decisions, but even when he does, he’d find it difficult to change.
-It’s also never impossible for the emotions that caused the accident to rear their head again. If someone were ever to intentionally sabotage Luca’s work or unapologetically steal his ideas, he may very well lash out with violence. Even if it were an accident, there’s no guarantee he wouldn’t be enraged.
-Luca has no idea what he’d do with himself if he ever did finish his invention. The guilt he feels for what may-have-happened is confused and warped, and he keeps it buried beneath his weighty obsession with the one thing he’s never forgotten…but if it were ever to be out of the way, Luca might be consumed by darkness.

about your Bruce and the hypocritical oath post, that’s exactly why I hc the Kane family as a military family (we know Kate Kane’s parents were in the military but I don’t think there’s anything further that that). It would mean that as much as Bruce is molded by his father as a doctor and those influences, there’s the implications from his mother with the military background of “sometimes violence is needed” that I think are super cool to explore. Batman is then a combination of both ethical codes and its contradictions are even more explicit as a result. Such cool stuff I love it
OMG, an ask. That ... has never happened before. How cool.
So first I know nothing about the Kanes. So I can't speak to that as far as cannon goes.
From what I've read about the Wayne's (which isn't much) he was a rich dude who decided to have his company run by more capable people so he could be a doctor. Martha was a stay at home mom and socialite who was very involved in charity - perhaps with more sincerity than most women of her class. Personally I like this picture of two good hearted rich people doing everything they can to better their city through philanthropy. And a Bruce who is raised seeing his father healing people and his mother donate her time to orphans. I don't think there needs to be a violent approach to the city's problems in his life until their death. I like the idea of him living a a fairly golden existence until that night.
BUT, your head canon is your headcanon so have a wonderful time exploring it! You're very right that interpretation offers a wealth of riches!

Izumi being Toph’s daughter could be the reason for her glasses.
No, really.
Okay just follow my crazy for a moment.
No one in Zuko’s family wears glasses, right? And Mai throws knives which requires sharp eyesight to do accurately. So why does Izumi have vision problems?
Let’s consider what probably caused Toph’s blindness. She says she was born blind, so we know it’s congenital. Her eyes appear opaque which sounds like cataracts. Toph mostly likely has congenital catatacts.
Predispositions to congenital cataracts do run in families. If Izumi inherited this condition, she would need immediate surgery to save her sight. Delaying surgery results in the eye never developing properly due to missing out on sunlight, which still results in blindness. But if Izumi’s was caught earlier, they could’ve surgically removed the cataract.
It may sound too advanced but there have been rudimentary catarcter surgies in India since 5th century BC. In ATLA they could even use bending to improve the prognosis!
If all goes well, the only long lasting side effect would be the need for corrective lenses.
Like glasses.
Hello! And thanks for the question!
This is a very interesting theory, but I believe that Izumi is Mai's daughter. She and Mai are practically look like the same person. She also resembles her grandmother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately I don’t know much about  hereditary eye problems, (but if happens that someone who reads it knows some factual information about it and can give some links I would be very grateful.)
I don't consider the comics and LOK to be a canon (in fact, you're talking to someone who doesn’t even consider the atla third book to be completely canon because of some terrible writing decisions or how the writers treated some of the characters in the third book, especially Zuko , Iroh and Aang, lol🤓). I like to think about LOK as of some sort of AU. And in general, I have almost no doubt that Toph and Zuko actually have a common child in LOK. Like, just look at Lin. She looks like someone from the FN. Her facial expressions, movements, her stubborn, strong personality. Do I at least doubt that Lin is Zuko's daughter? No, for me this is the canon. It's possible that Toph and Zuko got together around the time he and Mai had broken up for a while, or it's even more likely that Zuko widowed and after that he could have got into a long-term relationship with Toph. I don't want to think about Zuko being a widower, or that Mai died - I adore Mai, she's my best girl, my second favorite female ATLA character after Toph. And I LOVE maiko. But we know that in LOK Sokka died early, and Aang died quite early, so anything is possible. But, in any case, Zuko and Toph could have had a long relationship, nothing in LOK contradicts that version. As I recall, Toph mentioned that Lin's father's name was Kanto. Imagine: Zuko secretly dating a woman who doesn't want to be drawn into FN court undercover games, so he sends her love letters and sign them as "Kanto", and there is someone who reads these letters to Toph. God, I love that.
However, Izumi is definitely Mai's daughter.
But this is a very interesting theory, thanks for sharing it!

Okay so I know that sometimes you get leaks right? Sometimes you have people give you leaks and stuff? Like how you were given the leak for frontiers dlc a few months before the game came out. And how you have movies leaks?
Have you ever received a leak that you knew was fake?
Hahaha! Oh, boy! I have!😅
There’s one that has always stuck with me. I use this one as an example every once in a while when teaching others to trust sources.
Back in 2022, my friends and I were met with this “tipper” that claimed that he had Sonic 3 leaks. The funny thing about this one was that any time he talked to my friends and myself, the information changed. The “tipper” didn’t know that my friends and I were sharing screenshots of the leak to confirm authenticity. That’s how we knew that this guy was a fraud. Any time the conservation came to an end, we’ve made it a point for the “tipper” to talk to each of us by ourselves.
By the time he came to talk to me, the supposed leak change four times. I was told the most chaotic and unbelievable things. Stuff like Knuckles’ age, Sonic’s sexuality, how many movies Paramount wanted, and creating a character to replace Tails entirely. All really weird things. The “tipper” even tried to make it a point in saying that he was Pat Casey’s best friend. That was his selling point—I had to believe this guy because he claimed to be Pat Casey’s best friend. Let me just say the first lie that he told my friends was that he was an inside reporter for a known Hollywood magazine.
If you know me, you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with SCU. Any time I asked a question, he would say to check the interviews that the writers made to prove his point. Which, mind you, were all wrong from this “tipper.” His information contradicted info from the SCU Crew. And then he made the final claim that a fandom ship would be canon to the films, but with drastic changes. These changes were supposed to be Amy would be in the fourth film, she was supposed to be relatively older with a slow burning romance that extended into five films and her dating a really young Sonic.
When I showed the “tipper” that his story changed four times via screenshots, questioned the VA for Shadow (he claimed it was Tom Cruise once, Matt Daemon the second time), showed information regarding ships from SEGA, and public interviews that the SCU Crew did for the films, the conversation quickly turned into how I wasn’t a true fan because I didn’t ship sonamy. Apparently, I had to accept that sonamy was canon and that it was the equivalent of a sin to not ship it. (He claimed it was practically canon because of their color schemes, as well as the plot point in SatBK). I also got a comment of how it was wrong to headcanon someone’s sexuality and that Sonic would be a hard straight male. It was both hysterical and awful.
Hysterical being that someone went out of the way to fabricate an entire lie. Awful being that someone was so uncomfortable with the idea of LGBTQAI+ headcanons—and not shipping specific characters together—that they had to make someone feel horrible.
And you know what’s worse than that? It creates a stereotype for those that like a particular ship. It really ruins it for those that love a ship and want to share their love for it, but are afraid to. I’m not a sonamy fan. I do, however, feel bad for those that ship it. Because there’s jackasses like what my friends and I have encountered that ruin it for those that enjoy it. That’s not fair. And I’m so sorry that this is still a problem. People like that ruin it for the good ones. Not everyone that you encounter in the fandom—or in any fandom—will act like this. Please know that I don’t care about what you do and don’t ship. What I care about is if you’re happy. As long as you’re happy, then I’m happy.
But yeah, when it comes to leaks, always question its authenticity. And know if you’re not sure about something you’re more than welcome to ask me. I don’t mind looking into leaks and asking the tough questions.

DRA Character Sexuality Headcanons
I’ll just be making a brief list of what sexual orientation I believe each character from the first Danganronpa Another game has. Remember, I’m not condemning anyone who disagrees with my interpretation or has a different headcanon of a character. I believe everyone is entitled to their own headcanon, even if it blatantly contradicts canon, and you don’t attack others who don’t share the same headcanon as you.
Kiyoka Maki: heterosexual.
Kiyoka spends her last FTE worrying about who’ll be a suitable boyfriend if they don’t escape, so that’s basically my justification for this interpretation.
Mitsuhiro Higa: heterosexual.
Yeah, I don’t think much explanation is needed: he sexually harasses Akane in chapter 1 and brags about how many girls he gets in his FTEs. I understand why some may interpret him as an in-denial homosexual, if only to take the piss out of him, but I don’t see it that way. Mitch is a pretty transparent character, so I doubt something as deep as that is applicable to him.
Kizuna Tomori: heterosexual.
Some see her as a repressed lesbian, which I understand why, but I see her as more of a “straight girl with severe issues in her relationship to men”. Plus, I take into account the FTEs, so Kizuna’s implied attraction to Yuki by her last FTE is indicative of her sexuality to me.
Ayame Hatano: Bisexual.
I forever headcanon Ayame is in love with Akane, but her last FTE has her blushing at Yuki, so I interpret her as a girl-leaning Bisexual.
Kakeru Yamaguchi: Bisexual.
I wholeheartedly ship Kakeru x Kanata (Kakenata? Kanakeru? Yamanori?), so that’s part of it, but Kakeru also gives major guy-liker vibes, so there you go. I also semi-ship Kakeru and Kinji, so that’s further fuel to the fire.
Kanata Inori: heterosexual.
As I just said, Kakeru x Kanata is OTP for me, and that’s all the justification I need.
Kinji Uehara: Pansexual.
This might sound unexpected, but I see Kinji as such an open-minded and big-hearted person that he wouldn’t consider the gender of his partner, even if his religion prevents him from entering any romantic relationships.
Haruhiko Kobashikawa: heterosexual.
Similar story with Mitch, except Haru isn’t nowhere near as creepy. Sure, some think he’s got some homoeroticism with Yuki in his FTEs, but his obsession with the female gender leaves me skeptical of that.
Satsuki Iranami: Pansexual.
Similar to Kinji, I believe Satsuki’s such a pure-hearted person that she wouldn’t even think about her partner’s gender. Still, Satsuhiko for the win!
Yamato Kisaragi: Pansexual.
Literally the exact same explanation with Kinji and Satsuki, only I think he’s got a preference for men.
Mikako Kurokawa: Biromantic Demisexual.
Being the mysterious and quiet girl she is in-game, I doubt Mikako would consider dating someone unless she’s built a secure, trusting relationship with them. However, I’m unsure whether this would apply to pre-game Mikako.
Teruya Otori: homoflexible.
Now, I just can’t unsee Teruya liking other guys, but I also headcanon that Teruya developed feelings for Rei between the time they escaped and pre-SDRA2, so I compensated roughly down the middle.
Akane Taira: Heteroflexible.
I view Akane as predominantly being attracted to men, but may make some exceptions for a girl or two (perhaps Ayame would fit the bill 👀)
Yuki Maeda: Heteroflexible.
Similar to Akane, he seems to be a woman-liker, but I’ve no problem with the idea of him getting together with the right man (*cough*KINJO*cough*). In regards to Utsuro, I think he’s either AroAce or Demisexual.
Rei Mekaru: Panromantic Demisexual.
See, I believe Rei would have an extremely difficult time with getting vulnerable enough with someone to consider dating them, but once a trusting relationship is established, I don’t think she’d care about her partner’s gender.
Tsurugi Kinjo: Biromantic Demisexual.
Similar to Rei, except Tsurugi may have a preference for men, given that he spent much of his backstory and post-SDRA2 presence being defined by his relationships to other men.

Azi’s Zim is Disabled Essay
So there are a lot of different interpretations about Zim being defective that exist. There are a lot of interpretations about what it means to be defective in the first place. I would like to propose that being defective, not only relates to neurodivergence and “non-desirable” behavior (anything that goes against the Irken regime) but also certain physical disabilities, in specific chronic illnesses.
I would like to draw a line here because I firmly believe that the Irken Empire would not give a shit about limb differences. They are technologically advanced (even if their technology is mostly stolen from other species) so, to them, it would be entirely cosmetic and one could simply get cybernetics. However, a problem with the body’s systems cannot be as easily addressed. Thus, Irkens with conditions, like these would be considered defective. Due to their condition, they cannot contribute in the same way as others if they can contribute at all. They would be considered a liability. That’s right, the space fascists are probably also eugenicists (shocking no one). I mean seriously, that’s pretty easy to see. They literally genetically engineer their own people to near perfection.
The only way for a genetic issue like this to happen with the way smeets are made would be because of some kind of cloning error. Anyone reading this probably knows that a popular headcanon about Zim is that he is the product of some kind of cloning error. This is a headcanon that I agree with. So, if Zim is the product of a cloning error what saying that he doesn’t have some kind of invisible disability like a chronic illness.
Putting the lore side, when you look at the Irken Empire, as a satirical representation of America, its greed, its disregard for citizens, and its imperialism, having Zim be disabled makes thematic sense. Zim is actively disregarded by and pushed out of Irken society, many people tend to interpret this as Zim being autistic or another neurodivergent parallel, which I agree with. However, why not take this a step further, why not make a Zim physically disabled?
The closest thing within fandom spaces that I’ve seen to interpreting Zim as disabled, is making Zim autistic or deaf/hard of hearing. However, when this is written it usually has little to no bearing on the plot of whatever is being written. It is almost always a superficial detail of some kind like the occasional mention of Zim having a hard time hearing something, not understanding subtext, or wearing a hearing aid.
I don’t think this is a problem within the Invader Zim fandom; I am well aware that there is just not much fic about disabled characters in which they are actively discussed as being disabled or their disability is important to the plot in some way. I am not blaming anyone for this issue, it’s just the fact that not many people write disabled characters. I think this problem mostly comes from the fact that people are scared of messing it up. Quick message: if you think that you have a good writing idea that involves a disabled character, make sure you do your research, but fucking write it! Even if they aren’t anywhere close to implied to being disabled in canon. What is the point of fanfiction if not to give fans the space to interpret the character however they please?
Apologies for the tangent but it was important. I’m going to shift the topic a bit, onto examining a symptom of chronic illness that I see in Zim within the canon. Specifically, I think that it explains one of the main inconsistencies in Zim’s character.
Many people including myself have noticed the fact that Zim is simultaneously very smart, but also very incompetent at times. This seems to be a contradiction because someone as smart as he is shown to be, logically, shouldn’t be making some of the mistakes that he does within the canon. And I have a plausible solution to this: brain fog. Brain fog is an overarching name for a collection of symptoms that includes an inability to focus and concentrate, confusion, unusually inhibited logic skills, feeling disoriented, as well as trouble remembering and comprehending information. If Zim was intermittently experiencing these symptoms, the inconsistency of him being simultaneously a genius and on many occasions almost completely incompetent would be explained. Brain fog is a symptom of a lot of different things, personally, I interpret it as chronic pain and immunodeficiency for my Zim headcanons and my AU.
Being able to deep dive into Fem Zim’s experience with her disability as she continues her story is important to me. Describing her chronic pain is important to me. Not having a fix for her condition is important to me. Having a character that is not just disabled, but who talks about their disability, has prose dedicated to their symptoms, and has it as an important part of their character building and development is something that I do not see. Let alone anyone with a similar condition to me. Zim is that character for me, whether it’s me going into specifics about Fem Zim’s symptoms within my own AU, or me as a kid, first getting into Invader Zim, and seeing so much of myself in Zim as a character.
You can interpret Zim however you want, I’m not telling you what to do. But I would like to point out that this is an entirely underutilized interpretation that in a fandom that has existed for over 20 years know I do not know of any other genuine instance of.
My only explanation for that is that y'all are cowards. /j

I’ve seen a lot of fics n headcanons where Dick Grayson has adhd, and I see you. But also. Consider: Tim Drake having (undiagnosed) adhd. As a certified adhd bitch myself, I have A Lot to say about this, so more under the cut.
Before we get into it, just a quick disclaimer: pretty much all of my dc knowledge is from fandom osmosis, so. If you see something that’s ooc or contradicts canon no you didn’t. Now with that out of the way, on to the main event!
Okay, so! First of all, let’s start at the very beginning. That’s right, I’m talking about Tim Drake’s “night photography”! Now I’m not gonna say neurotypical kids don’t get up to some dumb ass shit when left unsupervised for long periods of time, because they absolutely do. But. The complete disregard for the many, many dangers a young child alone in Gotham at night would face is still notable. And he doesn’t just ignore danger - he runs straight at it. That shows an impressive lack of impulse control, and inability to factor future consequences into current decisions, both of which are hallmarks of adhd. Plus, hyperfixation kinda… changes? How you perceive things. So if Tim was hyperfixated on getting the perfect shot whenever a major crime/fight happened near him, he may not have processed that he was danger at all during the part most likely to scare a neurotypical child away.
Next, we have the coffee. Yes, I know the coffee thing is super overblown by the fandom and not really supported by canon but ssshshhhhhh my world my rules Tim drinks lots of coffee. Now, this one’s kinda obvious, but caffeine is a stimulant and surprise surprise so are most adhd meds. I have seen firsthand how ppl with undiagnosed adhd will mainline caffeine as a form of self medication, whether they’re aware of it or not. Some people use soda or energy drinks, but coffee’s also a really popular choice for this kinda thing. So not only is it completely plausible for someone with undiagnosed adhd to self medicate by drinking a shitton of coffee, it’s extremely common.
Next up! We have the insomnia. Which, again, I think might be played up a lot in fic? But this is my world and you’re reading in it, so. Tim’s an insomniac. This is one of the less well known symptoms of adhd, but again I speak from firsthand experience when I say it’s a big one. Insomnia is extremely common among ppl with adhd, for a couple reasons. One is time blindness, which I’ll come back to in the next point. But also? It’s just really hard to turn your brain off. And if a large portion of Tim’s brain space is being devoted to casework, guess what. That inability to turn one’s brain off will manifest as late night case solving blitzes. Not to mention that hyperfixation, again, changes the way you perceive things. When I hyperfixate on something I often lose hours at a time, and bodily needs like hunger, tiredness, the bathroom, etc aren’t just unimportant they straight up don’t register. With the number of times I’ve come out of a hyperfocus to realize that I have a dehydration headache that’s been brewing for at least an hour, or have completely skipped a major meal, or desperately need to pee, I can 100% believe Tim not noticing any sleep deprivation symptoms until he’s finished whatever he was working on. And I, again, speak from experience when I say that if you happen to hyperfixate at something at the wrong time of night you will be staying up way later than is reasonable. Which brings me to my next point of…
Time blindness! My most favoritist thing in the whole wide world! (/sarcasm) This shit can and absolutely will fuck up your ability to be a functioning human if you let it. Having no internal clock causes more problems than the obvious losing track of time. It means your appetite is sporadic at best and you could very easily forget to eat. It means your sleep schedule has a tendency to just disintegrate if you don’t keep on it. It means being completely dependent on external clocks to know how long things are/should be taking, even for stupid shit like cooking food or brushing your teeth. It means that if you don’t set an alarm for something there is a very real possibility that something isn’t happening no matter how much you want or need it to. In short, it completely fucks up your ability to care for yourself without a lot of external regimented support. Now, who does that remind you of? Which member of the batfamily is known for neglecting his own health? I may not read many comics but the sheer number of “Tim Drake subsists solely on coffee and spite” jokes on ao3 and tumblr is very telling.
His brains. Tim is very, very smart. Have you ever heard the phrase “twice exceptional?” It describes Tim Drake to a t. Plus, I’m living proof of how you can be both smart of brain and dumb of ass. This may be more of a “my family who just so happens to consist entirely of twice exceptional adhd dumbasses” thing than something most ppl with adhd experience, but. You can be really smart and incredible at putting together complex plans, both ahead of time and on the fly, and still have. No common sense whatsoever. Which seems to be a lot of Tim’s characterization: incredibly smart while simultaneously being a complete dumbass. So make of that what you will.
And most compellingly? I think it’s funny. This kid is brothers with Dick Grayson and best friends with Bart Allen and especially next to those two people would never expect Tim to be the one with the quote unquote “cant sit still disorder”. Yknow what? Let’s take this a step further. Let’s make Bart autistic. (I don’t know enough about the flash family to say how accurate this is but for the sake of the joke let’s say he is). People see Impulse standing next to Red Robin and they think they know which one is adhd and which is autistic and they are Wrong. Tim n Bart are Completely unaware of this but the rest of their team finds it hilarious. There’s probably at least one running joke about it.

Hello love! Now I know you usually have a clear logic behind all your headcanons, but are there any headcanons where you don’t? Like maybe this has no basis in canon (or just a shred of a basis) but you still believe it wholeheartedly?
Honestly, I don't usually come up with headcanons without at least some basis in canon. I think that part of my hesitancy is that I don't want other fans to get angry at me for "breaking" canon. Also, I don't want the series to contradict my headcanons, which is a bigger risk if I have headcanons that aren't based, at least in part, in canon.
However, I'll try to come up with some headcanons right now. (I haven't had the energy for the last few weeks.) Hopefully none of my headcanons are too outlandish. I also apologize if they're still based in canon--habits are hard to break, after all.
Teddy has a string of rodent pets throughout the years. He's usually an amazing pet owner: Francis was sixteen when she died, nearly three times the average age for guinea pigs. Teddy's favorite species are guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats. However, he generally hates squirrels, except for the one that he nurses back to health after it gets hit by a car in front of Teddy's house. Sammy The Squirrel softens Teddy to "birdseed-stealing lowlifes."
Bob doesn't read a lot but he hates to leave a book half-done. Bob will finish reading a book on principle. He says that part of the reason that he doesn't read as much is due to his "discerning tastes" since he doesn't want to get into a book that he'll hate.
Linda has portion control problems with more than just food. She buys too much makeup, perfume etc. Part of this is a coping response to Gayle stealing Linda's possessions when they were young. Linda would just let Gayle take her things and then buy more because, "Gayle just wants to be like me! It's flattering!"
Tina goes through every possible monster phase. She always returns to zombies, though. Tina finds something very comforting about the idea that love can outlast death itself.
Gene loves combining foods. He genuinely offends Bob more than once by mixing different foods together. Gene's not trying to dismiss Bob's cooking; Gene just wants to experience new tastes and experiment with food.
Louise gives herself a kuchi kopi stick-and-poke tattoo with a safety pin. Bob and Linda are simultaneously furious and impressed with how well she did (and how well she performed the aftercare). They make Louise promise to "stick" to temporary tattoos until she's eighteen. Bob buys Louise her first parent-approved tattoo as a high school graduation gift.

i already started seeing some ‘but i don’t want the homophobic man to be queer’
and i just wanna say something? there’s no canonical evidence that john was homophobic. that can be your headcanon, your take on his character, whatever, but in terms of the actual TV show there’s no canonical proof that he was. i know someone’s going to mention that journal thing but that’s so quasi-canon to me and not really viewed at as actual canon, and also it has contradicting canon in itself from the show so i don’t count that.
so when you see things like ‘john winchester is homophobic’ just understand that it’s a reading and not fact.
second of all, the reason why i love 1x04 so much is that we are seeing the ramifications of
1) the culture of the time of young men, and in john’s case way too young, going into something as horrific as the Vietnam War was [on all sides] and witnessing [and in some cases participating in particularly] horrifying things
2) this mindset of kinda toxic masculinity in the sense that men, and especially in this time frame, are expected to suck it up. his raised voice at carlos regarding therapy sessions reminded me of that, but also we have to keep in mind that john was on edge the entire episode and clearly quick to anger. but again, it’s 1972, and john’s a young adult, white male, in the midwest, veteran. i can see how he’s resistant to talking to people about his problems, especially if he just feels no better doing so [a common misconception that just one session of therapy and you’ll start to feel better], therefore it’s easy to associate therapy with feeling like shit and then avoiding it all together.
and you combine john’s mental health issues, bc clearly he has PTSD [*note, not everyone with PTSD is angry, violent, or volitile. but SOME are. and clearly john is one of them, likely backed up by other issues throughout his childhood with the father issue] — with this queer...well i was going to say coding but that look he gave carlos and some other implications in this episode feels a little stronger than that lol — then you get an interesting situation.
i think it’s important for us to not forget the nuance that SPN often undertook, and that the team at the helm of this show also aren’t unfamiliar with. this was literally the strongest episode so far, and i know usually episodes get stronger as seasons go on, but this was particularly strong.
because — the nuance here is that not all queer people are good, kind, nice, whatever. queer people can be abusers, queer people can have anger issues, queer people can shun treatment for issues [with understandable reasons] and leave things to fester —
queer people sometimes don’t come out the otherside of things in a good way.
and i think it’s also important to have characters like that.
*NOW please understand i’m not saying to revert back to Hollywood in the... idk 40s 50s and 60s? even 70s i guess. but there was really a run in movies where queer people were the predators the villains the — blahblahblah. essentially demonizing us in film. and then when Hollywood got tired of doing that to us, they’d just punish us and never give our characters a happy ending.
But, much like with many things in storytelling, it honestly depends on the story and imo, the time period in which you’re telling it.
Like i already said, the team at the helm of this show already know and understand’s SPN nuance and coding abilities.
so to me, having a young adult, white male, who witnessed a horrifying tragedy [one of many he probably experienced but this one in particular], who doesn’t feel like he can get help, doesn’t trust the process, in the early 70s, who is about to be thrown into the ringer [he’s actually in it already] with cosmic forces, who’s literally facing down a violent god in this episode — who perhaps may be queer.
this isn’t a show demonizing someone being queer and also being a neglectful and manipulative and emotionally, physically abusive father — it’s just the fact that sometimes, queer people can in fact be neglectful, manipulative, and emotionally/physically abusive parents in the future.
and since it’s fiction we got cosmic forces mixed into the salad plot bowl as well.
honestly i’m really happy that they already showed that john’s issues do not just happen upon him when mary dies. that he’s always had this simmering anger.
anger is a secondary emotion brought on by frustration, confusion, annoyance, fear, and all of that fun stuff.
the winchesters isn’t going to be a lighthearted happy comedy. we know where john winds up.
making him a more dynamic character in spn canon is fascinating, and since we already know where the ride is going to end up, no problem in encouraging that dynamic character building [while also wondering ‘what if’ a lot of the time like myself lol]

One of the worst cases I’ve personally encountered of “if you don’t like X ship you’re [insert-here]phobic” is believe it or not in the damn Monster High fandom.
One of the most popular ships is Draculaura X Clawdeen. In the movies and webisodes, Clawdeen vocally has very little interest in boys and dating, so it was a popular headcanon for years that she was a lesbian. A couple years ago the creator of Monster High, Garrett Sanders, did a QnA session on Instagram and one of the questions was whether or not Clawdeen was a lesbian. Garrett said straight out that Clawdeen was not written to be a lesbian, they just wanted a character on the main cast who wasn’t boy-crazy, but that he was fully in support of headcanoning her as gay. And that’s all fine, people kept making their ship content, they kept supporting their headcanon, life went on.
A while later - I’m not sure when exactly because I don’t follow him on Insta - Garrett went back on what he’d said before (maybe not went back, he didn’t contradict the old statement) and decided that Clawdeen was lesbian, and like— that’s perfectly fine for him to do. They’re his characters, he made them. The problem is, this is years after he stopped working for Mattel. People can absolutely look to him as an authority on Monster High if they want because again, these are his characters and his world for the most part, he started it! But he has no legal rights over the property anymore. Anything he says is no more officially canon than anything I say about it, but unfortunately a very vocal part of the fandom either don’t realise that or don’t care, and by God, they are some of the most entitled people I’ve ever seen. Every other post on the MH official page will have comments like “lesbian Clawdeen when” “give Clawdeen a girlfriend”, demanding something that was never canon and was never intended to be canon. I don’t like Clawdeen X Draculaura personally, I like the characters, but I’m not into the ship. If it weren’t for those kinds of people, I would be neutral about it, but because of them I have a knee-jerk reaction whenever I see Clawdeen X Drac because a lot of people have this attitude of, like, “Well, who ELSE would you ship Clawdeen with? 🤨” You should’ve seen them lose their shit at the prospect of Clawdeen liking Deuce Gorgon in the gen 3 reboot.
What bugs me about this all the more is that there are characters who were ACTUALLY meant to be queer that Mattel shut down. Kieran Valentine, an energy vampire who romances girls and then breaks their hearts, was originally supposed to have an arc where he realised he was chasing fake love because he was ashamed of being gay, and he would eventually come to accept himself, with his coming-out being written in the diary that came with his doll. Mattel said “no” because it was “putting an LGBT person in a negative light” — even though he was created and his story written by, you guessed it, Garrett Sanders, the only out gay person on the team at the time. Neighthan Rot was confirmed again by Garrett to have been intended as queer, and Finnegan Wake was supposed to be “not straight”, but the powers that be wouldn’t let them do it. The fandom does acknowledge this, but I feel its so heavily overshadowed by this entitlement that people have towards their fave getting the sexuality they want, forgetting or wilfully ignoring that it was never promised to them in the first place unlike the characters that actually got snubbed. Gen 3 is already shaping up to be more diverse in regards to queer stuff, with Frankie being non-binary, Deuce having two mothers, and I’m sure more to come, but nope, some people just want to keep whining that Clawdeen isn’t the sexuality they think she should be. Frustrates me to no end.

The perils of explaining away plot holes.
Hey guys, have a bit of a meta post.
So when it comes to stories, you often get plot holes. These are things in the story that don’t really make sense, and aren’t sufficiently explained.
While plot holes obviously aren’t good, if they’re sufficiently minor and in the interests of chasing some bigger goal, they’re not really a big deal. For instance, if a character is canonically a few hours away from something and gets there in a few minutes, it doesn’t make sense but its nice to have them there and they’re serving a purpose in the story so you’re not gonna stress about the issue, even though it is an example of a somewhat badly constructed plot.
Other times, the issue is so glaringly obvious and distracting, that it ruins the immersion for you and harms the cohesion of the story. Where your limits on this fall actually varies from person to person and often depends on how immersed you are in the show. If you’re not that immersed - probably cause the work isn’t engaging you emotionally enough - a more minor plot hole can be more distracting. But even if you love a story, some things are so stupid, they’ll be hard to overlook.
So, fine. Plot holes are bad writing - what of it?
Well, there’s two kinds of plot holes. Those that don’t make sense but could be technically be explained even though no explanation was given and those that are more-or-less impossible to explain because it contradicts something explicitly. So, I mentioned the idea of a character a few hours away. If said character has not been shown in a little while, you might be able to come up with your own explanation that suggests maybe they were on an unexplained visit. If they’re explicitly far away and there’s no room for them to have travelled, then there’s no possible justification you can make.
Now the former might seem better than the latter, but not by much. That’s a trap a lot of fans fall into when it comes to analysis, I find.
They feel that if they can come up with a headcanon to explain away a plot hole, then it’s not really a plot hole.
...
And like, I get it, I do. If you want to write a fanfic or make sense of the world for your own needs, then it’s great to come up with a decent explanation if you can. Fanfictions are great for trying to make sense of a fictional world in a way the parent series might’ve not needed to as it focuses on different things.
But if a story has you making leaps of logic to explain away a seeming inconsistency, and no explanation is provided in canon, not even implicitly, then it is still a plot hole and it is still a case of bad writing. That you can figure out a way to explain it is cool, but does not absolve the work itself of the issues.
This can become even more jarring later, if you come up with some sort of explanation for yourself in an ongoing series to explain it away. And then later canon suddenly contradicts your solution because it was never canon. And now you’re angry at canon for disproving your theory.
This is all to say: headcanons are cool but they are not actually canon! If they’re used to address bad writing, then the bad writing is still a canon problem.
When it comes to analysing stores you like, they’re bound to have flaws. You can love something and still appreciate their strengths without trying to hand wave away their weaknesses. It’s often way better to just accept that yes there’s some plot holes and bad writing in places. And yet overall you may still find enjoyment in it.

I wanna talk about Bart's sexuality in the comics
Disclaimer 1: Just the good ol’ reminder that this is based on an opinion and shouldn’t be taken as a fact. This post is an analysis/interpretation/reinterpretation based on a headcanon, so I don’t want to pretend that this is the only right way to see the character or the story, because that’s not the case at all
Disclaimer 2: This post is long because I like to explain and go into details about things. You’ve been warned
With that out of the way, I can now give some actual context
You see, I said this in a post once, but my way of headcanoning something is by building from canon, without necessarily contradicting what we’ve seen or know. But there is a kind of exception of that
Which is me headcanoning some of my favorite characters as aroace. Why, do you ask? Because I’m myself aroace, simple as that
And well, Bart is not only a favorite character, he’s one of my comfort characters. He’s quite a blorbo, if you will
But, as I’ve read through many of his comic appearances, I noticed that this headcanon fits actually quite well with his behavior and things we’ve seen (so far), so i decided that a discussion on how Bart would be aroace could be a fun thing to do
Without further ado, I guess I can start!
First thing first, if there are people who don’t know what aroace is, I’ll give a simple explanation:
Aroace is being aromantic asexual. Aromantic means having little to no romantic attraction, and asexual means having little to no sexual attraction. Simple, right?
There are some more factors about it, like the person’s attitude towards romance/sex and how there are different ways to be aromantic or asexual, but I’ll not delve into that because otherwise this post would get too long. There are however some quick videos I recommend to watch if you want to have a bigger understanding on those orientations (and this youtuber is pretty cool too):
  For aromantic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u50eURBqG-k
  For asexual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM-nKODEL_
In the course of many comics, Bart showed a lack of interest in the two, especially at the beginning. This was tried to be explained with his fast aging situation, that his lack of emotional maturity meant for him to not be ready to have romantic feelings
But it doesn’t quite make sense because here’s the thing:
Children are fully capable of developing crushes
Ever since primary school you can see kids giving love letters and choosing to hang out with someone because they have a crush on them. It’s true, at that age they don’t understand the concept of romance that well, but they can feel attraction towards someone. The amount of videos you can find of people talking about their childhood crushes are a pretty good proof of this, along with personal observation
There are many opinions and interpretations on when can someone fall in love, but a general agreement is that emotions develop far sooner than cognition or other elements, and the problem that rises is how you should deal with emotions rather than you growing to have them
Another thing is that body wise, Bart has the body of a teen. Beginning of the teen stage, to be exact, which is the time when hormones kick in
And hormones are the thing that greatly influence a person’s love life, which is the reason why the majority of people start falling in love around that time, but Bart didn’t, because he frankly did not care
And the few times he showed that he did can be interpreted as not actual romantic (or sexual) attraction, which is what I’m gonna delve into
But before I do that, I need to address the elephant in the room, that being Flash: The Fastest Man Alive comic
Which I have to say from the get go that I will not talk about it in this post because it’s not just an elephant, it’s a freaking dinosaur full of bad choices made by people from the DC team. I do have interpretations for the relationship from that series, but I can’t share those interpretations without addressing some things about the comic and stating my opinions, which… they’re not really positive. So, I will share them only if there are people interested in me talking about it or if someone’s trying to diss this headcanon by shoving this comic in my face like a sore thumb
But I’m letting you all know that I’m aware of this comic’s existence, and still consider Bart as aroace with that series in mind. Cool? Cool
Also, if there’s something that I missed by either forgetting or not knowing about it, do let me know! There are a lot of comics made throughout the years after all
Anyway, let’s begin with the first relationship: Bart & Carol
Which is actually one of the reasons why it would make sense for him to be aroace, since their relationship seems to be more like queerplatonic than a romantic relationship, at least on Bart’s side
What is queerplatonic, you may wonder? To put it simply, it’s a relationship that doesn’t fall into a normal friendship, nor into a typical romance. It can have romantic elements, but overall it’s not read as a romantic relationship
Here’s a 10 minutes video that goes into details about it if you want more clarification: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIMAca8iWoc
And frankly, this is how they acted with each other. Or how Bart acted towards Carol at least
In Impulse #20, there was someone else who implied that Carol had a crush on Bart, and when she kissed him, they both laughed it off and settled on being friends
Tumblr media
Now, I can’t fully say that Carol didn’t show any sign of crush at that time, but it’s safe to say that the speedster didn’t. Heck, there was a moment when she stood still and did the classic “falling in love realization stare” thing, and all Bart was thinking at that moment was flying birds because he was just hit with a ball in the eye
  Ah, I love this kid
From that point, their relationship was not challenged until Carol got a toxic boyfriend. At that time, Bart showed displeasure not because he was jealous, but because Carol didn’t deserve to have such a bad boyfriend (which is clearly shown in Impulse #70). It came from genuine worry towards his bestie, and that worry got assumed to be romantic by the others, not him
Tumblr media
And only after that he started to think of them being together, which left him mostly confused
Tumblr media
And Carol was the one who initiated the relationship, while Bart was still uncertain about what he’s feeling
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This whole situation is interesting, because throughout the comic, Bart shows to understand the concept of love. What he’s showing is not really romance, more like confusion caused by having feelings that were not only friendship, and he takes it as romance when he’s pressed on by the others and told that this is what he’s feeling, which it’s developed from issue 71 to issue 75
This pressure of being in a romantic relationship and not only friendship can be interpreted as amatonormativity. What is amatonormativity, you may ask? Well, it is described as such:
“Amatonormativity is a word coined to describe the widespread assumption that everyone is better off in an exclusive, romantic, long-term coupled relationship, and that everyone is seeking such a relationship.”
Here’s a 14 minutes video that goes more into details about this concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYgniujXJNE
But basically, because of the belief that everyone is seeking romantic relationships, some people have the tendency to consider that a feeling other than typical friendship has to be romance, and when you’re not familiar with other kinds of attractions like queerplatonic, aesthetic etc. or you’re not familiar on the concept of lacking romance/sexual attraction, you will fall to believe that what others are saying about yourself is true
And this comes from personal experience. I’ve never sought a romantic relationship with someone, and when I was getting along with someone (or I was friends with a person of the opposite gender), the others around me told me that I had a crush on that person and even pressured on it. I didn't think it was true at first, because I just really liked hanging out with that person, I just liked being good friends and getting along well. But because what I was feeling was a little different than normal friendship, and I didn’t know about queerplatonic being a thing, I fell to believe that what I had were romantic feelings because that’s what I’ve been told from others, in a society where being in a romantic relationship was the norm
So that’s why I think that Bart’s feelings were not romantic, because his behavior didn’t follow the romantic norms (even though he understands what romance is), and he believed that his feelings towards Carol were romance after he was told and pressured by others
And his attitude after Carol leaving is interesting as well. In Impulse #78, he shrugged off the fact that they kissed and focused more on the fact that he misses her. Actually, from Bart’s side, there was little to no importance put on the fact that they were a couple in the time Carol left in a future timeline, and his sadness came from the fact that she wasn’t around him anymore
And in Impulse #89, when Carol settled up on being friends, he was basically unphased by it. He was more that happy on being friends and he was just glad that she was back
So, this can be interpreted as aromantic behavior, with Bart having an indifferent attitude towards romance
Don’t get me wrong, I love Bart and Carol’s relationship, and it’s one of the healthiest and cutest relationships I’ve read in superhero comics. But you can’t deny that the way it formed and it was presented doesn’t quite fit with being a romantic one. At least, romantic from both sides
I also have to make note on the fact that White Lightning, a character who has the ability to make men fall in love with her and follow her orders, admitted herself that her powers never worked on Bart
Tumblr media
This was in issue 76, when she tried to get away with a theft, and after she pulled out her charm powers Bart was quick to snap out of it (which it also happened in issue 80, thus showing consistency)
So basically, from his main comic series I can easily interpret Bart as aroace, but what about the other comics? Well, in Young Justice from 1998, he showed no attraction towards anyone, so that one’s easy to interpret. It also has one of his most aroace moments ever:
Tumblr media
  This comic is a treasure
Actually, a lot of comics don’t have him showing attraction, which makes my analysis job way easier
But, another notable comic that showed the potential of him having romantic feelings was Teen Titans from 2003, which this is where I’m gonna continue with my interpretation
Okay, to start with a quick one: In issue number 2, when Bart told Cassie that she’s the one who made him like girls, the only possible explanation is that she’s the one who made him admire girls, especially since he then said that she’s Wonder Girl, which he also said those things to convince Cassie on not leaving the team
Because otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense at all if it was supposed to mean that she’s the one who made him love girls. Because:
1. He didn’t show any romantic feelings towards Cassie in Young Justice 1998
2. He didn’t show any feelings that may be considered as romantic until his relationship with Carol was questioned
3. If he had a crush on Cassie after the events from Young Justice 1998 out of screen, the statement would still not make any sense because it would have been after Carol and Bart were a thing, so Cassie wouldn’t be the one who made him love girls
If the writers tried to make any romantic implications there, they totally failed because of Carol’s existence from the Impulse comics. Because even if I interpret Bart’s feelings towards Carol as not being romantic, Bart himself is not aware of the possibility of being aroace, nor is aware of the possibility of his lack of romantic/sexual attraction. Because this is something that you can’t easily learn from reading books in early 2000s
And now we’re going with the second relationship: Bart & Rose
Which this one’s fairly easy because of how little it was shown/developed
From Rose’s side, the only sign of attraction was in issue 11, where she admitted that Robin is not as cute as Kid Flash, aka Bart
And from Bart’s side, the only sign of attraction was this from issue 12:
Tumblr media
  Which is vague as hell
Okay, let’s first go to the moment they initially met for a second, which was in The New Titans 1988. In issue 126, Bart asked for advice on how he can get Rose to talk to him, since at that time she had… some issues with communication, to say the least. When it was questioned if he had a crush on her, he rejected the idea and said that he doesn’t know what he’s feeling
Tumblr media
From the way he talks about her, it looks more like he has that kind of interest, or “zoning out”, that some people have over someone they feel compatible with, without necessarily having romantic feelings towards them (which honestly, I recognize this behavior from personal experience)
It makes sense for him to want to get along with her and be friends, since compared with the other team members from that time, I would say that she would have been one of the closest to his age, and it’s easier to communicate and be good friends to people around your age. But I have to admit, this is more of a guess because the comics are very bad to keep up with the characters’ age continuity and in The New Titans almost everyone is drawn to look like a big or small adult anatomy wise, so it doesn’t help with figuring it out
And after one failed attempt of him trying to talk with Rose, the comic didn’t focus on this dynamic anymore
Tumblr media
There was afterwards a comment from Tara that implied he had a crush at that moment. Once again, the romance implication came from someone else, and Tara only has the perspective of an outsider. Also let’s be fair, her attitude on romance is not… quite typical to say the least, or at least from what I’ve seen, so I wouldn’t take her opinion on someone else’s feelings as a fact
And the things the comic presented are not strong enough evidence on the possibility of romance because it shouldn’t have been this… vague, or it should have been shown more than one single instance in this comic series (and believe me, DC is more than capable of showing more romantic moments between characters in order to ship them), but that’s just it. Plus, it makes more sense that in this instance the thing he wanted to suggest was for them to just hang out and listen to her, because he was following the advice he was given
So basically, this subplot ended with Bart trying to befriend Rose, but he failed and it didn’t go anywhere
And now, we get back to the moment from Teen Titans issue 12, which shows his current opinion on her
The way he talks about her can be considered as more of an admiration than crush, plus genuine worry for turning into something unrecognizable to him. The term “kinda” also shows uncertainty in his emotions
And in this comic (Teen Titans 2003), aside from these two instances from #11 and #12, it wasn’t shown anything between them until issue 18, where their versions from an alternate future were in an established relationship
Which it can be interpreted as anything, because the only thing we know is that they were together. We don’t know how they became a thing, when they became a thing, and we don’t know the full nature of their relationship. We just know that they’re a thing, which is not even something certain for them, as we were told in issue 19:
Tumblr media
And after that, you know what came out of their relationship?
  Nothing
  It didn’t go anywhere
The writers dropped that subplot as fast as they brought it up, and these two never developed into something more than friends
After that, there are only two other notable instances that never got anywhere
In issue 83, Bart made a one-time comment to Aqua Girl that he’s complicated but 100% available, which it was quickly brushed off and never brought up again, so there’s no point in interpreting that really
And in issue 93, he showed an interest in a new girl named Kiran, of which Rose was the one who took it as a crush and nudged him to help the girl in order to impress her. And after that moment of Bart being excited about doing something for Kiran, this whole thing was brushed off and never brought up again. Like… that whole situation is strange because you can’t really take it as a romance, more like an admiration which was considered to be a romance
The Teen Titans comic leaves me intrigued, because I’m left with the feeling that the writers wanted for Bart to be with someone, but it never got anywhere because they realized that it doesn’t work with his character, so anything they tried got quickly thrown away
And in the current comics, after Bart came back from the Speed Force as Impulse again, he showed even less romantic interest than he did in the past. He actually didn’t show any attraction at all, with one exception that was made aware to be out of character in the comic itself
That exception is from… Young Justice Dark Crisis, which I’m gonna try to do a brief description for context:
Tim, Kon and Bart were trapped by a stereotypical gen Z fanboy in a version from their past as Young Justice, but that past was filled with all inaccuracies like homophobia, sexism, and more stereotypes (and the world being off was constantly questioned by Bart himself). That world also influenced them at some level, which led to Bart making an out of character comment about fake-Cassie fighting a woman with huge boobs up in the air in issue number 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was explicitly made to be inaccurate to his character and to show more of the fact that this world is off. The only one who didn’t see it as something wrong (even though he showed at first a reaction of confusion), was Kon, which I would argue that this is out of character for Kon as well
That whole comic is a big whole mess for different reasons not related with this post, but from that I can at least have more evidence on Bart being aroace. Yay, I guess?
And with that, we reach the present of this post. Now the question is, do I think that the writers intended for him to be aroace? Not in the slightest
Do I think that he’ll get into a romantic relationship in the future? Kind of, because the comic industry finds it popular to put their characters in couples
But I have to make something clear: it is possible to be aroace and have a romantic or sexual relationship with someone, because there are many kinds of identities in the aromantic and asexual concepts. To put it in a different perspective, the terms aromantic and asexual are relatively as specific as the term homosexual
This post is one interpretation based on one kind of being aroace that fits with the behavior Bart presented in the comics, and you can have your own interpretation that’s different from this one. Heck, you can even have your own different headcanon of his orientation, the limit is your imagination! If you want him, or any other character, to have an orientation similar to yours, you can fully go for it
All I did was to use the canon to fit with my headcanon, but you’re not obligated to fully follow the canon. After all, if there are writers within the DC team that disregard things from the canon and change the characters in ways that don’t fit them at all without any reason whatsoever, what’s stopping you from doing your own thing for personal entertainment?
As a final note, I’m gonna say this:
Since Bart was in the DC Pride: Tim Drake Special comic, the only logical conclusion is that he’s also LGBT, and this applies to every other character presented in the comic/hj
  Have fun with that!

Queering the Bond characters, part 1: the Bonds
Tumblr media
Welcome to Queering The Bond Characters! In this series of 5 posts, I’ll give you my headcanons (mostly based on my interpretation of the canon, but sometimes it could just be a hunch or stretch on my part) about which Bond characters are queer. Lesbians, gays, bis, pans, aces, varying romantic attractions or levels on the Kinsey scale… there’s a bit of everything, in more or less all eras (except for heteroromantic straights, because... well, that would be boring, wouldn't it? Oh and I have no trans headcanons either. Not that none of these characters could be looking at you, Q, but I just, personally, can't think of any. Sorry 🙇) In any case, enjoy! 🙂
-/-
Connery!Bond: homoromantic heterosexual Has he ever really loved someone in a romantic— STOP THE PRESSES. Kerim Bey. And Tiger Tanaka. And Quarrel. And Felix, to an extent. In other words: this Bond is a walking contradiction.
Lazenby!Bond: heteroromantic heterosexual BUT, his marriage with Tracy put aside, the fact he has no problem impersonating a gay man (especially for the time) tells me that he could be a 1 or 2 on the Kinsey scale. Impulses, maybe.
Moore!Bond: aromantic heterosexual Okay, this is literally the last blank I have to fill in the whole series of posts, and honestly I don’t know. He does sound like the most painfully, toxically straight of the bunch, tbh—so much so that, ironically, I don’t think he actually feels any romantic attraction. He also is by far the most problematic imo, which is a crying shame considering how adorable Roger Moore was IRL. But still, awful to women in his early entries (poor, poor Solitaire and Andrea), sugar daddy in his later ones (if only he could have been just a father figure to Bond girls like Melina or Stacy, it would have been awesome). Can’t say he’s attracted to any male character of his era… Columbo maybe? Eh.
Dalton!Bond: panromantic asexual Kara, Della and Felix (Pam, a bit less) are clearly the things (not in a derogatory way, more like not just of all people, but of all things) he treasures the most in life, but he mostly doesn’t look interested in sex unless the job asks for it. Panromantic because imo gender has little to do with it.
Brosnan!Bond: biromantic heterosexual This one LOVES women. Whether it be Xenia, Natalya, Paris, Wai Lin, Christmas, Elektra, Miranda, Jinx, or any of the others, he just wants them to have fun, and feel safe and loved and comfortable. Sadly for Alec, he doesn’t seem remotely as attracted to men, but he still could be a 1 on the Kinsey scale. Like, he would probably be open to experimenting if someone verbally asked him. Too bad that said someone is way too insecure… that would have saved them from one hell of a messy break-up, for sure.
Craig!Bond: heteroromantic bisexual Bi as per canon, absolutely blind to Q and Felix while falling hard for Vesper and Madeleine. Also the (sexual) tension with Le Chiffre and Silva is real.

Wait what is your headcanon about Maria's twin???? If I got that right?
Hm… yes you got it right. In one of my headcanons I imagined that Maria used to have a twin sister.
This would be the short answer, but I supposed you’re looking for a more complete explanation. I will try to write it below. Even if I don’t get into too much details, I sure have a tons of others things to say about Bloodborne universe/ world building.
(About the conditions of life and the importance of the old blood in it)
So thank you for asking! You give me a good reason to share all of this x) And talking about this headcanon.
Like some might be aware I have tons of different hc & interpretations. Some who directly contradict canons and even each other. It’s more like silly AU/fic stories.
Exception to my main big hc/story, even if I don’t believe it actually 100% happened that way. But I’m trying to make it fit as much as possible into the lore and original material. (It’s MY hc and for now, nobody is going to tell me if I’m right or wrong so…)
This ideas/stories just came in my mind, and I express most of them by just talking to myself. Not sure if everyone does that or if it’s only a neurodivergent thing. Some days I really wonder… Anyway.
Before getting back to the main subject I got to talk about two things really fast.
One subject that I would want to express, if I ever write a story on Bloodborne it’s “how the use of the old blood really did help people and improve their life”. Why it became so much essential and when they realize it was too dangerous and should be stopped it wasn’t possible anymore.
After decades of progress and researches a lot of persons would prefer to try to find a compromised than stopped everything and just get back austerity (hello really life environmental issues struggle ?! wow I didn’t indeed this comparison at first),The risk of a big regression, a civil war perhaps and it would still be around in some kind of black market I’m sure.
(yep all of this inspired by Laurence theme song alone…damn).
Yes, the old blood and all this mess probably killed thousands of people (especially if we addition everything until the event of the game) but it probably saves a ton of persons as well (a poisonous miracle cure…) In the begging at least/gold era at least.
Like you know Bloodborne is mostly based on the XIX/19th century (1801-1900) and the Victorian era (after 1837). A lot of people used to die of various illness we don’t have anymore. The infantility death rate was really high too. People got a lot of health-related problems. Pasteur (the guy who create the rabies vaccine), the vaccination and a lot of new medical protocols appeared at the end of the century. That’s also why at this period people and society had a different view on death. They were closer to it and have way of dealing with it that would be weird or even disturbing today. (See my post on the doll).
But this doesn’t seem match the universe of the game. Maybe they did have better quality life. It looks like it. But we know nothing about the political/ social/health context before the blood show up. We can’t be sure it was exactly like the XIX century and people could had 5 siblings, but they all died or was it more like us today or even a mixt of both.
The characters we know only seems to be only child or have like only 1 sibling. That mean advanced society who already did their demographic transition. Or all their family passed away. What’s sure is that it’s a more egalitarian society lol.
Maybe life conditions in Bloodborne were much better than actual 19thcentury but I saw a cool post (but don’t remember where) that say that in order for the church to basically lead Yharnam politically, some wars/epidemy/famine would have happened earlier.
That’s why I thought it would be interesting to hc characters to have family members/friends/people they know, who had died before hand, of shitty illness. Or even if they didn’t know the persons, they have at least friends /relatives, who lost close people to them. That would really solidify the importance of the healing church/ old blood instead of just “oh an epidemy of ashen blood show up the church heal them”. I do believe they gained a lot of popularity/influence/ power over this.
SO, because of this and another dumb thing, I think it would be great to made Maria had a sibling (a twin sister), who passed away when they were both really young (preschooler age?) + all the family drama that would occur. And it would serve my narratives even better. in my main hc/story. Because, guess who else I hc having a little sister who passed away as well ??
Gehrman (I had this one for a while now…you see what I did there ?! ).
I mean he did survive almost everyone so pretty sure he lost he’s entire family at one point…
(I have a lot of quite different interpretations of their relationship as well. Depend the au/hc but I’m not going to expand on that or I’m never going to finished lol, maybe another day). So let’s just say in my main hc, at the beginning she remind him more of that part of his life. After a few years alongside her, his view on her changed.
If you know FF7 remake dlc and Yuffie and Sonon, well at the beginning it’s kinda like them XD but of course they’re characters with really different personality. It's more about their general bond and dynamic as a duo.
There’re other characters I think/hc who may have lost relatives too.
Also, one day I thought about how Maria would react to the Doll. I believe she would have really differents & mixt reactions at the same time (I won’t go into details!). One of them would be “Oh I always wanted a sister…” And I think if they were to interact that would be the relationship they would have.
(But yep I believe the doll is a part of Maria too. In the hunter Nightmare it’s a nightmare version of herself aka the worst version of herself. I believed she was actually in between the 2 !  That the real Maria was both and neither at the same time. If that make sense. But who knows… that’s just my interpretation).
And to finish, the wildest AU that come to my mind who solidified the idea of a twin sis. Remember how the doll and the Gehrman’s apprentice were supposed to be 2 different characters originally ?? I thought : hey that would make a “funny” AU if the Doll was based on Maria’s twin sister lol. Anyway forget about it. Also some people think/thought that the doll might still be based on more than 1 person/… that’s interesting
So Hm yeah I hope that i offered an explanation on the "Maria had a twin sister headcanon" ! ^^’
I don’t even have a name for her… (if someone have ideas XD). Not even sure it it’s true or false twins as well. But I do have a preference for identical twins, I think. Don’t asked me who was born first either I don’t know. Oh… actually, Maria not being the first born would make sense… a lot of sense…

About the new chapters of Fumetsu. First of all, I've been waiting for this since the beginning of part 3 in Azkaban.
Tumblr media
I miss them(
Secondly, I hope we learn more about what happened to the real Mizuha. Although there is little hope, we generally learned about the fate of Rean from two pages and that's it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She leaves at the end of Part 2 to take the Guardians away from Fushi so that he doesn't have any problems. But later, Tonari reveals that she disbanded them. Why? Did she manage to change them? Then she returned? In general, I have a headcanon that Hanna came to her, and they were together, does not contradict the canon. Why didn't she stay? Kahaku decided to reborn because he thought he was hurting Fushi. He wasn't right, but he was in a state of effect when he did and out of order. Mizuha was fine when we last saw her, and even if she didn't love Fushi romantically, she could stay as a friend, like the same Bon. How did she die, of old age?
And why does he remember her in her school uniform, although at that time they did not really get along? It makes sense that in Fushi's imagination the scene is based on gaps in the final timeskip, but then she must be older.
And will we ever get specifics about their relationship? What was it in the finale of part 2, Fushi loves her, Fushi Kahaku loves in her, or Fushi decided to return his love, or Fushi decided to return her love, what was it at all, or Omma wisely will never say specifically for sure?
I wonder if Fushi did with her clones (he seemed to know them) the same as with her? I mean: Fushi saw in the descendants of Hayase Hayase, in Mizuha he saw Kahaku, it is logical that in the clones of Mizuha, he saw Mizuha, because Fushi is slowly not learning ...
The frame is clearly the original, not a clone, the clone would not have worn a school uniform from five hundred years ago
P.S. after a break it’s hard to write something, I look at the tag, only art, but I still don’t know how to draw well, and in general it’s a shame to post only the text, given that English is not my native language and I can, something is wrong formulate..
P.S. P.S. the Fumetsu fandom is so strange because the chapters are released in parts, and they are small, and the translation into different languages is also out of time, the feeling that some readers are in a long traffic jam, some have already arrived, some are stuck in the middle , and someone is on the sidelines, and it is impossible to discuss the chapters normally all together.
