“I graduated on May 11th.”

“As in six months ago May 11th?" Andrew asks, in disbelief. "This year?”

“Yep,” Neil nods, the barest hint of a smile on his face. God, that’s so depressing. Neil’s life ended before it could even begin. But if he graduated a year after Andrew…

“I guess that makes you what? Eighteen?” Andrew asks. When Neil nods, Andrew asks, “When’s your birthday?”

“Why?”

Andrew shrugs. "You know mine."

“Take your pick." Neil starts. "Chris’ was September 14th. Stefan, June 23rd. Alex, December 9th. Jackie was August 4th, but I wasn’t him for long. I’ve had a few in February, one on Valentine’s Day, even—”

Andrew holds a hand up. “I want the real one.”

Neil works his jaw a couple times before answering, “January 19th.”

“And what name was attached to that date?”

“Ronald McDonald,” Neil answers immediately. It’s not that funny, but mixed with his meds it makes Andrew cackle so hard he ends up coughing. (Damn, maybe he should listen to Kevin and stop smoking. Nah.) Andrew lines himself out before Neil can start angel CPR or something. Oh, what an idea that is.

“Classy. Though, you look more like the Hamburglar to me.”

“Thanks a lot.” Neil says with a snort. Andrew regards him for a moment. How can a man have gone by so many names? Wouldn't he have gotten them confused? Instead of asking that, Andrew has a different question.

"I already know your father's last name. Why can't I have-"

Neil worries his bottom lip. “Because I hate it."

"Why?"

"I just do. I mean, it's not the worst thing my father ever did to me, but it's up there. I can give you my middle name, if you want it." Neil says. Andrew does, so he nods. After a couple seconds, he gets a quiet, "It's Abram."

pt XV good omens entire season 1: a nice and accurate summary

@neil-gaiman I like to delude myself into thinking you would be proud of this. Are you?

Hello, Asmi here, I present to you a summary so nice and accurate that if you're feeling masochistic, you can just breeze through this to catch up and then directly rewatch season 2 to cry! Which is what this fandom loves to do, so as mascot I'm here to enable you :") Spoilers here, of course, and a lot of chaos.

Episode One! We open with God narrating the Fall of Man and we've got ourselves a Bible AU, east gate angel/serpent forbidden lovers, quite wonderful really.

The serpent (Crowley) now in human form takes the Antichrist and catwalks across a graveyard. Crowley delivers the Antichrist to Satanic nuns but there are several fuckups.

The East Gate guardian (Amoxicillin) and Crowley raise the wrong baby for eleven years with Amoxicillin being a frightening gardener and Crowley being a gorgeous nanny.

They realise the baby is wrong. The real Antichrist wasn't raised by them and therefore owns braincells. He names his hellhound Dog.

Episode Two! Gabriel the angel is an ass, we get some nice witch-burning of Agnes Nutter who made prophecies, and oh yeah the apocalypse is now happening and the horsepeople are out.

Nutter's descendant finds the Antichrist and friends and is hit by Azithromycin and Crowley who are in love. Things happen but what is important is Azithromycin and Crowley stare at each other and also Dog faces off a tabby. Azithromycin lies to Heaven.

Episode Three! Crowley looks gorgeous at Noah's ark, Architecture tries not to listen to her about how shit it all is, boom flood dead.

Lots of romantic flashbacks with Archibald and Crowley, medieval, shakespeare, french revolution etc etc lots of sexual tension, Archibald is in handcuffs, Crowley rescues his books from a Nazi bombing.

Antihistamine gives Crowley holy water, breakup breakup, paintball, sexual tension wall slam, bandstand breakup, it is very sad.

Episode Four! Duck aliens invade earth, the Antichrist possesses children, Crowley and Aripiprazole are incompetent at heroics. Aripiprazole is sent to heaven and everything is on fire.

Episode Five! Crowley is very very sad and Antibiotics reappears and possesses a lady, there is vague hetero sex, Crowley is useless, Antibiotics is the posh gay, everything is still on fire.

Episode Six! Big apocalypse face-off, Crowley's car blows up, no one comforts him, Arsphenamine is now back in his body, eleven year olds kill the horsepeople because Crowley and Arsphenamine are still useless, the Antichrist solves his daddy issues.

Crowley and Antipyretic switch places to survive and then they go out to drink and toast to the world and everyone cries.

THE END! WAHOO!

[I am so, so sorry to everyone who was involved in the production of this show. You deserved better than this summary. But this is what you got. Blame the fandom, I am only a figurehead and mascot.]

Harringrove Guardian Angel AU mixed with Soul Mates AU

Billy's mother used to call him her little Angel, she would cup his cheek when he was little and tell him he was a good boy, a boy who wanted nothing but happiness and love and who, one day, would find that love.

Billy used to believe what his mother told him was true, always having the light of her smile to keep him happy or the warmth of her hugs to keep him safe. That was before she left.

He never knew why she left, or at least, he did, but he didn't understand why he couldn't come with her. It was like she had some...higher goal she had to work with, like one day her work in their household was done and she had to move on. Billy could feel it when she left. Feel her leaving and taking that light away from him, sending him into the darkness alone with the one evil he'd ever known in his life.

Neil hated it when he heard Billy's mother call him Angel, like the sound of it grated his ears or stung him like the holy water Billy had been dipped in as a baby for christening. Neil had let Billy's mother hold him when it happened.

Billy still can't understand why his mother couldn't have taken him with her, but he understands now how she must have felt when she left. A desire to follow, to connect and do anything with or for some higher goal, willing to leave everything behind and exist in some new way.

Unfortunately, it had to be at the most inopportune time, stuck with his father in a backwater town where he had nothing to his name and no money to leave. That was just the logistics of it too, the worst part was that the connection he felt? It was for a boy, something he'd hoped to never have to deal with again but here he was.

Billy's grandmother was the child of an angel and a human, that angel having been the guardian angel of the person they fell in love with. This leads to a line of angelic sons and daughters, Billy's mother having found her 'soul' she was meant to connect with and protect, and now Billy's found his.

His only issue? Trying to actually work around being a queer boy in the 80s and not even knowing if Steve Harrington is queer to begin with.

Also, the reason why Billy's mother never came back to find him is that the soul she was meant to protect had died & guardian angels cannot survive the loss of their guardian soul when they find them. So if Steve dies? So does Billy. He's forced to protect Steve, he's just lucky he's also connected to Steve and wants to love him lol

Shadow Puppets AU - The Collector “Astrophel” lore dump

-The Collector and the Archivists are physical manifestations of stars (If any of ya’ll have read Stardust by Neil Gaiman, or seen the movie, it’s a similar concept to the character Yvaine, just way more powerful) - Collector's siblings are called

 The Cataloger- who keeps records each and every lifeform that the Collector brings.

 The Assessor- who judges whether any lifeform is worth being preserved or wiped out.

The Preserver- who does the actual act of preserving the life deemed worthy by the Assessor.

The Archivist- The eldest who the entire species is named after, who keeps the preserved life and the records made by the Cataloger in a universal archive house, which the Collector bases his own Archive House on later

-He has limited Future Vision; he can’t tell anything about his own future and only vague predictions of others’, but he knows Pizza Bagels are coming and he is very excited about that -In the Shadow Puppets AU the Collector’s Tablet was sent to the Human Realm where it remained undisturbed for untold years -Previous to being uncovered by Philip, the Disk was initially found by Father Josiah, the Gravesfield Preacher who believed the Collector was an Evil entity, buried the Disk and warned the Colony to be wary of the Devil in the woods. -Only people who have touched the Tablet can see or hear the Collector, and he has a limited ability to affect things in the physical world -He has used this to limited ability to help Philip out of dangerous situations, leading the Colony to suspect that he has a Guardian Angel or has summoned a Demon. -During his friendship with Philip, the Collector decided to go by he/him pronouns and Philip helped him pick the name Astrophel. -Caleb was aware of Astrophel, whom they both believe is an Angel, so Caleb was at first supportive of their friendship until he met Evelyn and she warned him that the Collector is dangerous. -Caleb stole the Tablet and left for the Demon Realm with Evelyn, attempting to protect his brother and helped Evelyn hide the Disk in the Titan’s skull where no one would dare try to find it. -Many years later, Philip finally tracked Astrophel down and reunited with him with the help of ‘Luzura’, but when asked about Caleb, Philip simply told him Caleb was gone, and creating the Grimwalkers were actually Astrophel’s idea, to be a replacement for real Caleb until he came back -The Collector is not an innocent victim of Philip’s manipulations in this AU, he knows all about Philip’s plan to destroy the Boiling Isles and is a willing and gleeful participant- years of being wrongfully imprisoned have made him bitter and angry, and their mutual hatred of the Boiling Isles, as well as resentment toward their older Siblings for their perceived betrayals make both Astrophel and Philip feel vindicated by each other’s anger. The way Astrophel sees it, he did the time, he might as well commit the crime -Astrophel picked out the name ‘Belos’ for Philip’s new identity -He also aids in the deception of the citizens by using his limited influence in the physical world (which is stronger in the Demon Realm) to pose as the Titan by causing minor reactions to Belos’s commands, such as causing small Earthquakes when Belos speaks of the Titan’s wrath  -For better, or worse  (most often worst) they share one (1) braincell. Just a couple of charlatans planning to destroy the world together -Astrophel is aware that Philip is under a curse, but knows very little about what exactly his curse is and how it affects him (his job was to Collect creatures, not research them and the Archivist’s never got a hold of a Wendigo) . What he does know is that eating Palismen makes his friend feel better, so he should eat lots of them.  -I compared Philip to an addict in the linked Wendigo post, and Astrophel is an enabler

yall i’m sorry i haven’t posted any fanfic-y things lately and i’m sorry TMHYHM hasn’t updated in a while (literally 6 months) i swear i have things written

TMHYHM 8 is almost all the way written i promise, i’m struggling so much with the last little bit of the chapter

the “minyard triplets” AU is also almost finished, i have literally a scene and a half left but the WORDS don’t want to WORD RIGHT and i regret learning how to write

i’m being dramatic both of those projects are going to be great once they’re finished, i’m so obsessed with them and i know y’all will be too, but oh my god. writing is??? so hard???

Crowley (just Crowley, thanks), a redheaded firecracker of a man who fancied vintage cars and good alcohol. Aziraphale quickly realizes he may be in over his head, and soon, head-over-heels. "Neil Abram Josten." Andrew says aloud, testing it. In a strange way, it fits together. Andrew realizes Neil is looking at him and offers, "Mine's Joseph."

"I know,” Neil says, taking Andrew by surprise. “I've heard Coach Wymack yell it at you a dozen times."

"I'll lie if you do, Andrew Joseph Minyard,” Neil says, giving a petulant little grin when Andrew scowls at him.

“Cheater, cheater.”

“I’ve never promised to play fair.” Neil shrugs. “Besides, if I played fair you’d be sitting in class like a miserable lump right about now.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Well, at practice I could tell something was bothering you. I didn’t know what, but I figured you needed some rest. But you have class on Thursdays and I knew you couldn’t skip today because you were supposed to have an exam. So while you were busy in the showers, I popped over to the Humanities building and found your professor in the copy room. She was running off the exam. I think she got three copies before I fucked up all the copiers.” Neil finishes his story with a devious little smile and Andrew laughs.

“Thanks, angel.”

“That’s what I’m here for. Destroying things and keeping you safe.” Neil sighs out, his hand swiping over the mark his knife had made in the roof. Andrew watches his hand move and counts the circles and lines of pink, raised skin.

I hear a Symphony – The Wedding of Neil Perry and Todd Anderson, and how the two star-crossed lovers become one towards their happily ever after. Playback – In which Todd goes back in time to change the future, to save Neil. And learn things along the way.

Rewrite the stars – Angels are brought down to earth to make sure a person feels happy before they die, Todd was tasked to Neil Perry but after their time together, the two have gained feelings for each other and now Todd will break every rule to make sure that Neil Perry lives.
