Fic Rec time because why not: Death Note Edition ✨
These are some of my favorite DN fanfics and I figured I'd share them with you :3 Even if you've probably already seen some of them.
I am also a multishipper so this going to LONG. Buckle in 🚀
Gen
Five Days by Shadow_of_Quill
Rated M. Noncon Warning. Several instances throughout the week where people don't keep their hands to themselves around Light.
Despite the serious subject matter Light deals with it in a very Light™ way. This is the origin of a few of my angstier Light headcanons.
.
This Is How I Disappear by TzviaAriella
Rated T. MCD Warning. After an international tribunal condemns nineteen-year-old Light Yagami to death, the Kira Task Force must come to terms with the fallout of the case–and with Light’s surprising last request.
I'm pretty sure everyone's read this one at some point. It's a classic. Everybody's GOTTA read this one at least once. Angsty but it's hhhhhhHHHHHH 🙏 So good.
.
And This Is All There Ever Was by Min Daae
Rated T. MCD Warning. In which Light has confessed, in order to win.
This one is technically lawlight, but it feels very gen to me so I put it NEAR the lawlight list. I love Light being a spiteful shit and this is him being spiteful to the very end. This man will do anything to win.
.
Lawlight
Polarity by Writeous
Rated T. Some people are born with soulmarks: small, colorful images tattooed onto your skin that represent the people who would prove most important in your life. By all accounts, soulbonds are supposed to be beautiful, something to be cherished and revered over the course of your life. Light Yagami grows up with a bold, typeface L on his hand and a soulmate that hates him.
I'm obsessed with this fic. OB. SESSED. It only has one chapter so far but I love the dynamic on this one. I love soulmate aus but specifically the grittier ones. It has a MCD warning but as of now it's not applicable yet. Highly recommend.
.
Time Speaks by aSmallMoon333
Rated E. In his first life, L died in the arms of his greatest enemy.
In his brief second one, he died alone.
And in his third, too-long life, L died anticipating finally getting even with the man who'd won their game one too many times.
And Light Yagami? If he'd known this is what picking up the Death Note would bring....well, he'd probably still have done it anyway.
This fic? Superb. Spectacular. I reread it at LEAST once a month. It has lodged in my brain and rots everything else around it I am so obsessed. L and Light are so unhinged and in love and petty and I love them. MCD warning, obviously, but it doesn't stick. This was my first fic back into the DN fandom and honestly I think it should be everyone else's too 🙏 My friends tell me they're getting back into DN and I immediately recc them this fic.
.
louder then bells by relic_crown
Rated M. No one has ever seen Light’s soul, but it haunts his dreams as a monster: eyes bloody as sunrise, feathers tasting of citrus and sharpie fumes, breath hot as summer and twice as brutal. At first, he thinks the notebook itself is his soulmate. Then he tells himself Misa can be enough.
L ruins everything. For the first time, someone sees Light’s soul, and through his eyes Light knows it must look monstrous – why else would L be hunting him over it?
A soulmate/His Dark Materials AU—can you tell I have a thing for soulmate AUs? I adore the vibes of this fic, from the mystery of Light's soul, to L's distinct creepiness, to how Light views Kira :) I cannot explain that last bit to you, you're just gonna have to read it.
.
Slow to Boil by TrashKing
Rated E. L has loved Kira since he knew there was a Kira to love. Unfortunately for him Light Yagami doesn’t quite understand the whole process of being seduced so L will have to take the frog in the pot approach to taming this beast.
I have a kink for L having a Kira kink, and this is one of my favorites to read when I have my 'I Need L To Be Obsessed With Kira' cravings. Very fun read, highly recommend ✨
.
The Many Forms of Blessings by TrashKing
Rated E. Light was taken in by Wammy House after he lost his family in the accident. Now eighteen he finds it’s a tradition at the house that the best of every generation meet the mysterious creature who lives in the catacombs under the estate; L. Light is reluctant and that unease proves well placed when it’s revealed the graduates L likes never leave the underground.
And THIS fic is the one I circle back to when I get my 'I Need L To Be Obsessed With Light' cravings :3 Dark and beautiful in that Beauty & The Beast/Leda & The Swan way. I really love Light's characterization in this fic, as well as the darker take on the Light Grows Up In Wammy's trope.
.
Rabbit Holes by TrashKing
Rated M. L Lawliet, head programmer and engineer for W&W Cybernetics, arrives at Tokyo-3 to fix a malfunction that killed eight people. The problem is that 'malfunction' turns out to be a newly sentient super computer called Kira. L disconnects him from the rest of the installation to begin a historic interrogation, but Kira might not be as defanged as L believes.
If you can't tell by now I am trash for TrashKing's fics—I can't help it I'm straight up in love with their Light. I would recc literally all of their fics but we don't got time for that, there's over fifty. This fic is fluffy and funny and really interesting, and it was a super fun read! I liked the inclusion of Ryuk and Light's very wholesome and yet still very Light™ reactions to human experiences :)
.
Into The Grey by Kratos_Aurion
Rated E. Light is a young, hot, reclusive Omega who follows all the rules and does it all right. Except when he's sneaking out to capture criminals as the vigilante only known as Kira. L will always and forever be the world's greatest detective, but the Alpha might have a little competition in the Kanto region of Japan.
In a world just barely free of Omega oppression, these two geniuses find themselves in a race against the clock and each other.
VIGILANTE 👏 LIGHT 👏 I love this little scheming bastard. I love the twists and turns this fic takes and the persistent aura of dread and danger. I also just like it when L and Light bicker and fight and they do that a lot in this fic. A lot. It's great. I can't explain what else I particularly like about this fic without spoiling it, so you're just gonna have to read it.
.
Extrajudicial by Boo_Yeah
Rated M. L knows that Light Yagami is guilty. And he is forced to accept that he will never be able to prove it.
So, just this once, he decides to break his principles and go above the law. He kidnaps Light and takes him to Wammy's house.
He's sure that having the kids interact with a real-life mass murderer will be a very educational experience indeed.
Or: Light is Kira, L is sick of how easily manipulated the police are, and he secretly wants to see what will happen if he forces Light into a domestic situation with children just as intelligent as he is.
I am a person who really enjoys L Wins AU, so L yoinking Light from Japan just to hide him away in Wammy's to try and redeem (?) him all while Light kicks and screams is something that just speaks to me personally 🙏 L just wants to not kill his friend and Light just wants to continue to commit crimes, top tier story on God.
.
Animal Games by tsukinoyagi
Rated T. Gone Girl AU. L has moved his lovely, vile, entirely batshit husband out of their beautiful Brooklyn brownstone into a Missouri suburb, then left him to his own devices. He is under the impression that this is going to end well.
This fic is beautifully written and it scratches that itch I have for malicious antagonism between established lawlight. These bitches are SO toxic and I love them. I really enjoyed the different perspectives just so you can see that both of them are unreliable narrators.
.
Terraito
The Gods of The Godless by foreskinsmoothie
Rated E. Noncon Warning. Light was perfect. And now that he’s not, there’s just nothing left for him here, in this life.
After a night that ruined his life, left him crippled and spurred forth multiple failed suicide attempts, Light decides his best course of action is putting himself in the most dangerous situation he can think of and making grotesque gangsters do his dirty work. He slips into the sight of Ryuk, infamous for fucking male escorts, then killing them in a brutal blur. Or so those dark web message boards say.
Light’s fate is in Gods hands… or maybe a creature far crueler has plans for him.
I LOVE THIS FIC. I ADORE IT. It's dark and gritty, but as someone deranged about human (?) Ryuk and his and Light's dynamic, this fic is wonderful. The noncon is not between Ryuk and Light, but the descriptions are explicit so be aware of that. Both Light and Ryuk have my entire heart here no lie.
.
Toes, Knuckles, Teeth by TrashKing
Rated E. Ryuk's always been good at bending rules. Shinigami aren't supposed to have sex with humans but, well, by his estimation Light is also a Shinigami.
This fic revolves in my brain at 3x microwave speeds, okay? I am studying this fic like it is the scrolls of old, alright? I hold unhinged amounts of feralness for this fic. It's a smutty little character study, and it has imprinted itself onto the back of my eyelids forever. This fic addresses every reason that I'm so obsessed with Ryuk and Light's relationship. SO GOOD 🔥
.
Meronia
what doesn't kill me makes me want you more by neallo
Rated M. “Poor Near,” Mello says, stepping closer and pulling Near’s head back further, tilting her face up as Mello cages her against the wall. “How long have you liked me?”
Near’s heart is kicking against her ribcage so hard it almost hurts, and her ears are burning with embarrassment. She squeezes her eyes shut, unable to hold the blonde’s gaze. “Mello, I...” she tries to speak, hoarse.
“Has it been months?” Mello asks, her voice getting closer as Near feels her lean down. She braves a glimpse through her lashes and watches as Mello bends her head to brush her cheek against Near’s, putting her lips next to Near’s ear. “Years, maybe?” The older girl teases.
Near finds it in herself to squeak out a “yes,” and almost jumps at Mello’s sharp intake of breath.
“Years,” Mello marvels.
A Fem Meronia fic set in Wammy's era where Mello finds out that Near enjoys getting bullied by her—because Near has a MASSIVE crush on her. What more could you possibly want out of life? Amazing fic.
.
The Archer Ensnared by jabbernatty
Rated E. Near has two goals: the first, to celebrate Mello’s birthday. The second- a secret. His methods for achieving these? Questionable.
THIS. FIC. THIS ONE. Near is my favorite levels of unhinged and this is so in character for me. I enjoy it a lot. If you haven't figured it out by now I enjoy romantic antagonism and problematic relationships and this fic has both 😍
.
we will be better than i was by sahwen
Rated M. AU in which Mello swallows their pride and works alongside Near. Things aren't as different as one might expect.
Nonbinary Mello, domestic-edging meronia, and tragedy mixed in with funny shenanigans. The way this written is just,,,so pretty?? I'm in love with it. 10/10 it has everything.
.
Matsulight
metempsychosis by palant1r
Rated M. MCD Warning. After the warehouse — it will always be "the warehouse" to him, a vague noun as a substitute for years of betrayal — Matsuda wakes up the next morning faced with a second chance. One day to fix everything, one day to build the January 28 he wants. And that day will repeat for as long as it takes to get things right.
He knows that he can't save everyone. But it would be nice if he could just save someone.
OR
Matsuda gets stuck in a time loop and the situation quickly gets worse.
This fic is a TRIP I tell you, but a very good one. Matsuda's characterization in this is so much fun. This fic is about the journey of grief and all the madness and moral contemplation that comes along with shooting the greatest mass murderer of all time who was also your best friend that you're in love with. Very good read.
.
Alive by still_lycoris
Rated M. Light Yagami is a Shinigami. And Matsuda has found the Notebook ...
This is such an interesting idea, I really enjoyed it. Matsuda's moral struggle seems to be a persistent theme in matsulight fics but honestly that's half the fun. Good fic 👌
.
Birthdaymassacre
A Secret Note by KeehlingOver
Rated E. What Mello left out of his writings on the Los Angeles BB Murder Cases.
Or, these edibles ain't shi--
This fic is so fucking funny holy shit. Whenever I need a pick-me-up I reread this fic. It's T4T bdaymassacre, what more could you want?
.
Aggressive Top by ThePunkRanger
Rated E. Naomi Misora isn’t about to admit that the mysterious detective Ryuzaki sparked something in her, but when he insists that he’s an “aggressive top” she just can’t let it slide. So she does something entirely unprecedented, and invites him over to prove it.
What has she gotten herself into?
Naomi is sick of Ryuzaki's shit, and Beyond has reverse-psychology-ed his head between Naomi's legs 🙏 This one is unfinished but it left off on a cliffhanger that drives me FUCKIN' NUTS BRO. FIRE.
.
Playing The Part by ThePunkRanger
Rated E. Someone is kidnapping members of Southern California’s BDSM community, and the world’s greatest detective is in the market for a reliable team to go undercover on his behalf.
It’s been two years since the arrest of Rue Ryuzaki, the serial killer behind the Los Angeles BB murder case, and Naomi Misora has been happy to live her life under the assumption that she’ll never have to see him again. Unfortunately, L has other ideas; ones that involve her pretending to be in a Pup/Handler relationship with the murderer she put behind bars.
I'll be real and say that I wasn't sure about this fic at first, but it's actually very wholesome?? And respectful of the kink community! There's some extra angst in the background with L's controlling tendencies (there are cameras in that hotel room. I feel it in my bones.) and his and B's rough history, but honestly I think that makes it even more interesting. Top tier fic. 👌

The Come Down (Alessia Russo X MMA fighter!R)
Tumblr media
R is a very popular MMA fighter, and Alessia sees the parts of you that other people don't. Shes the one who gets to put you back together again after a tough fight.
Warnings: D/S undertones but no smut.
Author's note: This was super fun to write and i hope you enjoy it. Feel free to hit me up with ideas and comments and stuff.
You sighed, leaning your head against the stone walls of the Emirates tunnel, letting it soothe the twinges that always lingered after a long flight.
It was masochistic, but the ache that lingered the day after a war in the Octagon was always one of your favorite feelings, especially if you won. It helped you to compartmentalize the parts of yourself. It helped you separate the completely in-control fighter, the stone-cold monster that didn’t give a fuck about her opponents, and the human that lingered underneath.
It was hard to punch a man until he was unconscious if you thought about how human he was. If you pictured his family and his life as anything other than an opponent for you to run through. But you never wanted that part of yourself to exist anywhere other than in the cage.
The throb in your muscles and ache in your cuts helped you lock that part of yourself away. It helped you keep your grip on reality in all of the post-fight hormones until you could get to the grounding force that was your girlfriend.
The post-fight come-down was always difficult for you, especially after a 5 round back and forth battle like the one you had just fought.
You loved your job, you really did, but it was so easy to… lose yourself. To get lost in the anger of the UFC universe and the vitriol of your opponents. To get lost in the cycle of Training, listening to a man tell you he was going to destroy you at press conferences, cutting weight and beating the ever-living fuck out of someone while people cheered.
Just being in the same building as Alessia had set you at ease, and watching her score 2 against Chelsea was even better.
But the sound of the crowd had started to set you on edge. The way they erupted when your face, black eye, stitched gash on your cheek curving up to your forehead and all, appeared on the Jumbotron after your girlfriend’s PK had you clenching your teeth. It egged on the thoughts of murdering the keeper that had taken her out swirling in your brain, along with the desire to demolish the player who had so callously stepped on her teammate after a play.
It was why you escaped to the tunnel, to gain some form of control over your thoughts.
Maybe flying out as soon as you had been cleared by the medics wasn’t such a good idea, but you couldn’t stand being away from Alessia any longer than you had to be. You couldn’t stand being away from the comfort, love, and… safety she offered you.
God, you sounded like a psycho.
Or a submissive nearing the end of her rope.
6 weeks apart from your girlfriend was really doing a number on you.
“Ay bruiser, fancy meeting you here,” Katie said, appearing in front of you with a wide smile.
You flashed a toothy grin at the Irishwoman, ignoring the way it pulled at the stitches holding your cheek together. “Maccabe, always a pleasure,”
She caught your arm. “That was one hell of a fight. Thought Less was gonna break my hand during the third round,”
You grimaced.
The third round was the only one your opponent won. He had caught you with a big overhand right, opening the gash on your cheek and knocking you on your ass in the last 15 seconds of the round. The knees he had followed it up with to your side hadn’t been fun either. He had almost finished you, and you knew it had to be hard for the team and your girlfriend to watch.
“My hand dipped when I tried to close the distance,”
It really was a game of inches, and he had certainly taken advantage of your small mistake. It was ok, you had gotten him in the end anyway.
Katie made a sound of agreement, glancing at the tunnel behind you. “Certainly made us all nervous, but I’m happy you took his head off, even if it took you until the last 30 seconds of the fight,”
She made a little kicking movement with her leg like a semi-recreation of the head kick you had used to end the fight.
“Didn’t want to rush it,” You shrugged, nodding to the Arsenal girls as they passed you, unable to help the way you automatically searched each face for your girlfriend.
“Ya missus is still signing for a couple of kids,” She gestured over her shoulder, a knowing smile still playing at her lips. “I can take you to her if you want?”
You shook your head. “I’ll wait here. I’m in no hurry,”
You also didn’t think you could deal with the sounds of the crowd when your head was still pounding, a consequence of taking a flight with a concussion against doctor's orders you supposed, and you ached every time you took a step, every time you inhaled too deeply really.
Katie’s eyes softened when she saw the emotions flit across your features. “Come on, let's go to the locker room instead. It’s away from prying eyes,”
She tugged your hand. You let her lead you deeper into the tunnel and into a room filled with wooden cubbies.
It was nice to let your brain turn off, to just… follow along and allow someone else to lead you.
“Hey champ,” Leah smiled at you as Katie deposited you in what you assumed was Alessia’s locker. “That was one hell of a fight last night,”
“Thanks,” You winked at the defender. “You guys had a fantastic game too,”
“I’m not sure a football match compares to a man trying to punch you in the face,” Steph said, glancing at you from her spot near Lottie.
You made a low sound in the back of your throat, feeling the tightness return to your chest. “But I don’t have people stepping on me after the bell,”
“But you do end up covered in blood,” Kyra chirped. “We don’t have to worry about that usually,”
“Most of the time it’s not mine,” You muttered, leaning further into your girlfriend's locker. Her perfume lingered in the cubby, and you let it soothe the frayed edges of your nerves.
You didn’t want to think about fighting. About the person. The savage. you were in the octagon. You toyed with the hem of your sweatshirt sleeve. It was slightly too long because it really belonged to Alessia. She had given it to you before fight week.
It helped, but it wasn’t her.
It hadn’t been enough after the fight, and it wasn’t enough now.
You didn’t think you could wait much longer, but you didn’t have to.
“The stadium is buzzin,” Alessia said slightly breathlessly, stepping through the locker room door.
You were immediately on your feet, taking in her flushed cheeks and bright eyes. “Less,”
A grin instantly broke across her face, and she crossed the room in 3 long strides. Her arms wrapped around you, and without thinking you buried your face in her chest.
It made the gash on your cheek sting and the tender skin of your jaw ache, but you didn’t care, pressing yourself as tightly to her as you could. She shifted, her nails running over your back with one hand as the other cupped the back of your neck.
It was gentle, and grounding, and everything that you craved.
“Hey baby girl,” She breathed into your hair, her voice dipping just a little and sending a shudder down your spine.
She was like a ray of sunshine, always warm and sweet. It was why none of the fans would ever speculate about the positions that the two of you held in your relationship. They joked that she was too soft to be a dominant, but the people who understood how your relationship worked could see that her mix of firmness and warmth was exactly what you needed.
She waited for you to pull away first, just enough to meet her eyes. “Hey,”
She leaned in and placed a careful kiss on your lips. “I’ll shower and then we can go, yeah?”
You deflated, your fingers tangling more tightly in her jersey. You didn’t want to let her go, even if it was just for a second.
“You can come with me,” She said, a knowing look in her eyes. “And tell me all about fight week,”
“Ok,” You agreed, only loosening your grip long enough for her to grab her shower bag and change of clothes, before you latched back on, holding the hem of her jersey tightly as she led you towards the showers.
You felt a bit like a child, clinging to her, but she was like a buoy keeping you from drowning in the sea of your rocky emotions, and now that she was close to you, you couldn’t let her go. You were afraid that if you did, you would lose your grip on reality.
The warm, wet air of the shower helped too.
It reminded you of your post-fight routine.
Win or lose you would stand under the hot steam of the stadium, washing off the blood and sweat from the octagon until your coaches pulled you out. It was part of the routine that you had skipped since the docs wanted to stitch your cheek as soon as you were out of eyeshot of the fans.
Then you had felt so… off balance that you raced through a cold shower and hopped on a plane to get to your girlfriend as quickly as possible. You didn’t even stay for the post-fight press conference.
“Come on love,” She said, pulling you into one of the stalls, sliding the first curtain shut behind the two of you, and bringing her face inches from yours.
Her hand very gently cupped your cheek, mindful of the dark bruises that littered the skin, tilting your chin up. Her eyes searched you for a long moment like she was reading your mind. Like she was deciding what you needed from her.
Her pointer finger very gently followed the long cut that ran under your left cheek, up to your temple, and just above your eyebrow. “I thought they usually put a bandage over stitches,”
Your eyes darted away from her. “I didn’t like the way it pulled at my skin,”
“I think you’d like it less if you got an infection,” She deadpanned, using her thumb to tilt your chin up further as she stepped into your space. “You wouldn’t be able to fight,”
“But the scar would be worth it,” You shrugged, using all of your strength to muster up fake nonchalance.
Her lip quirked upward. “Would it?”
You let your own smile morph into a playful smirk, despite the tremendous effort it took. “Chicks dig girls with scars,”
“I think you’ve got enough of those, cheeky,” She hummed, leaning in and brushing the thick line that lived on the underside of your jaw with her nose. “I like it more when you come out without a scratch on you or a hair out of place,”
You hummed, leaning back on the stall wall as her lips replaced her nose on your jaw, her teeth grazing the delicate skin as she made her way down the column of your throat and back up.
Her hips pressed into yours, keeping you pinned to the wall, her thumbs insistent under your chin, keeping your head tilted up as her tongue slid pleasantly against your own.
You sighed into the kiss, your fingers twisting into the material of her jersey, trying to pull her closer.
Her thigh flexed between your legs, pressing into you, and you couldn’t help the way your hips rolled down to meet her.
Or the wince that broke the kiss when the
movement pulled uncomfortably at your ribs.
“Babe?”
You whined as she pulled away, blinking open to meet her burning blue eyes.
“I’m ok,” You said breathlessly, trying to lean back up to kiss her.
Her hand on your chest stopped you, as did the perfect arch of her eyebrow that screamed yeah right.
Her fingers traced down your chest to the hem of your shirt. They crept under your top, meeting the tape wrapped heavily across your abdomen instead of smooth skin.
Her eyes widened when she pulled up your sweatshirt, revealing the thick white bandages wrapped tightly across your stomach.
“Want to try again love?” She asked, finally looking up at you with an expression that had a shiver tingling down your spine.
“Just two cracked ribs and some nasty bruises,” You huffed, shifting uncomfortably when her fingers grazed the material.
“Just,” She snorted, shaking her head, dropping your shirt, and standing up to her full height. “Why didn’t you tell me last night?”
You shrugged. “I didn’t want you to worry. The stitches were already enough,”
“I’d rather know and worry than accidentally hurt you,” Alessia said seriously.
You looked away from her, swallowing hard. “And I knew you wouldn’t touch me at all if I told you,”
“Baby girl,” She murmured, her voice going very soft, her thumb very gently ghosting over your uninjured cheek.
She knew that the come down from fights was always particularly difficult for you. That the power that you held in the octagon always made you crave submission. You craved to not have to think, to just exist, and then to let your being relax in the aftercare that followed.
This time the desire was amplified by the brutality of the fight.
She could see you teetering on the edge, fighting the fog that always filled your brain, and while she wanted to scold you for withholding information, she knew that that wasn’t what you needed from her.
Not when you were already dropping so hard.
“Ok,” She said, keeping her voice soft as you leaned further into her touch. “I’m going to shower, and you’re going to be a good girl and stay right here for me, alright?”
You made a low noise in the back of your throat, and your eyes slid closed as you nodded very slowly.
“Good girl,” She hummed, placing a very gentle kiss on your lips, and pulling away. “I’ll be two minutes love,”
You sagged against the shower stall wall.
You could do that. You could wait 120 seconds for your girlfriend.
You could and would do whatever she asked you to do because you knew it would help. You knew she would fit all of your loose pieces back together again and make it ok.
You just had to exist.

“Satoruuuuu,” an aggravating, whiny voice slurs. “Can you get me another drink pleaseeeee?”
“Hm? Oh, sure.”
Satoru rises from his seat on the couch, running his fingers through his silky white hair. He leaves his girlfriend to chat with her friends as he makes his way to the kitchen for yet another drink. Really, he should cut her off and take her home. She’s insufferable when she gets a drop of liquor in her, not that she’s any less annoying when she’s sober. All the whining, all the clinginess, all the slurring of his name as she wraps herself all around him. It used to be cute when they first started dating a year ago. Now it’s just suffocating. But Satoru sucks it up, though he’s not entirely sure why. Maybe because when she drinks, he doesn’t have to deal with actually trying to have a conversation with her. She’s a bit more tolerable after a few drinks. Annoying still, but less so.
He maneuvers through the crowd of the house party he’s currently attending. It’s packed, the scent of alcohol heavy in the air. Leave it to Suguru to go all out when he’s back in town. The guy invited practically everyone from their time in high school. Since arriving, Satoru’s already run into Mei Mei, Ino, Utahime (unfortunately) and surprisingly Nanami. There’s even students from the Ainu Technical School here. He had no idea Suguru even knew them.
Regardless, Satoru is happy to see everyone. He stops every so often to chat with old classmates as he wanders towards the kitchen. Everyone seems to be doing well for themselves since graduating high school, which Satoru is glad for. No matter how life went, he always wished everyone well.
And life was good for Satoru, too. At 26 years old, he certainly couldn’t complain about much. He’d graduated from high school, gone to college, had a hell of a great time during his undergrad career, got himself a well paying cushy sales job. And he had a girlfriend that he…had been with for awhile. Life couldn’t be better for him.
So why did it always feel like something was missing?
Satoru enters the enormous kitchen and makes a beeline to the assortment of drinks lined along the built-in bar. Of course Suguru has a built-in bar in his kitchen with an array of pre-made cocktails to choose from. Always such a great host when he’s not traveling to clean up celebrity messes for his PR firm.
“Satoru!” A man’s voice sings behind him as an arm slings across his shoulders.
“Haibara,” Satoru greets him. “Back for another drink?”
Satoru grabs one of the plastic party cups from the counter and pours one of the cocktails into it; something fruity and syrupy. He might’ve given it a try if the overwhelming smell of tequila didn’t burn his nostrils. He thinks of his girlfriend, knowing she will definitely feel like shit by the end of the night.
“Hm?” Haibara shakes his head, his raven hair whipping with the movement. “No way. One is enough for me. I have early practice tomorrow. Coach says my swing needs work, so not willing to fuck that up.” Ah right. Satoru had totally forgotten that Haibara played tennis professionally now. He nods, listening to his friend fill him in on what his plans for tomorrow are. Haibara’s wide brown eyes follow Satoru’s movements as he fills his cup. “You, though? I never see you drink at these things?”
Satoru shakes his head. “Not for me. For my girlfriend.”
Haibara’s signature, open-mouthed grin spreads wide across his face. “Oh! You’re still dating her? Wow. Good for you, man.”
Something about the surprise in Haibara’s tone takes Satoru aback, brows knitting at this. “Why’d you say it like that?”
Haibara crosses his arms, his smile melting away with a sigh. “I mean…” Haibara sighs your name quietly. “The two of you were together for a long time before you broke up after high school. We all thought you’d still be together, but if you could end that relationship, I’m just a little surprised you’re still with this one. That’s all. But if you’re happy...”
Just hearing your name on Haibara’s tongue has Satoru’s stomach twisting in knots. He hasn’t seen or spoken to you in years, something he’s been wanting to change for a long time but too cowardly to do so.
Satoru nods, giving Haibara a weak smile. He can admit that his girlfriend was…not the least bit interesting, annoying and did little for him. But he enjoyed her company sometimes.
“Just don’t be surprised if one of us leaves with Y/N tonight, though,” Haibara jokes, throwing his head back with an obnoxious chuckle.
What?
Satoru feels his heart leap into his throat as his crystalline eyes dart rapidly over every occupant in the kitchen, only seeing the familiar faces of his old classmates and a few strangers. There’s no sign of you. Maybe Haibara was just fucking with him.
Satoru laughs to save face, albeit awkwardly. “Funny,” he mutters, staring down into the drink meant for his current girlfriend, though now his thoughts are only occupied with you.
“Hey man, I need to get back to my girl, so I’ll catch you later,” Satoru tells his old friend.
“Yeah, later! Hey!” Haibara calls out to him and Satoru turns briefly. “Let’s get together to play some time!”
“Yeah, sure. Text me!” Satoru calls back, waving as he exits the kitchen. Unlikely, but he appreciates the effort.
Satoru shoulders through the crowd again, carefully holding onto the red cup in hand so it doesn't spill. He takes his time getting back, a new goal in mind: find you. Are you actually here? Or was Haibara just trying to mess with him? His heart pounds hard in his chest as he moves, eyes scanning every face he sees.
It’s been seven long years since Satoru last spoke to you - his first real crush, his first real girlfriend, his first time. His first everything. He wonders if you’ve thought about him at all in this time. He’d be surprised if you did. Things didn’t exactly end well between you two.
......
Seven Years Ago
You and Satoru dated all through high school. Satoru, a star athlete, played many sports and you supported him through them all, cheering for him at every game and helping him with his practice. You two were inseparable. If you weren’t at Satoru’s place, he was at yours. The love was deep between you two and a promise was made that you’d always be together.
But life didn’t always happen the way you wanted. The joy and excitement of being accepted into your dream schools did not last long when you realized you’d be going to school thousands of miles away and oceans apart. It was the first time a true test of your relationship was presented. Satoru was staying in Japan for college while you were headed overseas. Could your relationship survive the distance?
The first few months apart weren’t so bad. Satoru was making friends, excelling at school and becoming quite popular. You were also busy with your new life and hobbies. You made time for each other when you could. But it wasn’t enough. The loneliness Satoru felt without you was all consuming and it was only a matter of time before he found himself sending fewer texts, calling less, absorbed in the newness of college life.
Satoru loved you so much, but he wasn’t an idiot. He knew the likelihood of a long distance relationship surviving was slim regardless of who it was. It wasn’t for lack of trying, but the trying part was becoming more burdensome than he wanted.
And it wasn’t as though you had done anything wrong. This feeling Satoru was experiencing was all on him. You made the effort to keep in touch, to call when you could. And you still wanted it to work. But if Satoru were honest, he just wanted to enjoy his time in school without the constant worry of pleasing someone who he never saw unless it was behind a screen. It was selfish of him, but he wanted to have fun. This was a new world and he wanted to be free to explore it.
So he ended things.
He’ll never forget the quiet sobs on the other end of the phone as he sat in silence after uttering the words, “I don’t think this is going to work out anymore”.
His heart ached listening to your hushed pleas for him to not do this, to not end things this way. But it was for the best. In the long run, you’d be happier. He’d be happier and what was that corny saying again?
If you love something, set it free? Satoru thinks that’s what he did that day.
And you were so upset. Rightfully so. You loved Satoru. You were each other’s first kiss, first times before you left for college, first loves. You’d quite literally given everything to each other. But Satoru couldn’t commit to you anymore. He didn’t want to. He wanted to enjoy college, live his life. It may be selfish of him, but he didn’t see it that way. It was his chance to grow.
Even after all of your pleading, he stuck to his guns. It was torture, listening to you tearfully beg him not to do this to you. He had to end this.
So he told you he’d met someone else, that he couldn’t be with you anymore because there was another woman he wanted to be with. The stretch of silence was painful, Satoru quietly waiting to see if you had anything to add. The call ended with you hanging up in his face with only a choked sob as the last thing he’d heard.
Adjusting to life without you proved difficult at first. Satoru isn’t embarrassed to admit he moped around campus for a while before he was able to start trying to move on. After that, the next few months of college were great. Satoru was Mr. Popular, quickly rising to the top of his collegiate sports team. He was the life of any party he went to, the center of attention wherever he went.
Life should’ve felt perfect.
But as the months passed, Satoru found his mind occupied with the thought of you at the worst times.
While his professor discusses marketing strategies, Satoru’s mind wanders to you.
What are you doing right now?
When he’s at practice getting berated by the coach for poor blocking form, he knows he can’t tell him it’s because he’s distracted by the thought of you.
Who are you with?
When he’s giving another girl his number at a party, planning to hook up later, he pushes back the memory of the first time he’d spoken to you.
Where are you?
When he finds himself between another girl's legs that same night, he squeezes his eyes shut, picturing you and biting his tongue as he tries his best not to moan your name.
Do you still think about him?
The months soon stretch into a year and Satoru hopes this intense yearning he has for you will just fade away. He’s not so lucky. If anything, he thinks about you more. He checks your social media profiles to find you’ve removed him as a friend on everything. Of course you did. He ripped your heart in two. There was no way you’d allow him access back into your life. Your accounts are all private, so he can’t see anything and he’s not willing to ask a mutual friend about what you’ve been up to. It only makes him a little bit crazy that you’ve put up this wall between you two so he has no access to you.
Another six months pass and Satoru works up the nerve to text you for the first time since you’d broken up. He hopes you’ll reply. It’s been more than a year. You can’t possibly still be upset, can you? He can admit that he could have handled the way he ended things better, sure. But if he can get past it, you can too, right?
You never respond.
More months pass by and soon another year. One late night, Satoru slips into his apartment after a failed hookup. He pulls his phone out, scrolling through his contacts to find your name. You didn’t reply to his last text. He doubts you’ll respond to this one, but he takes a deep breath and shoots off a message to you before he changes his mind.
Days later, you finally respond. You chat for a while, sending messages back and forth. Generic things, really. Just catching up. Until one night Satoru musters up the courage to call you.
“Hello?” You answer. There’s soft music in the background and Satoru wonders what you’re up to. Are you home? Maybe you’re relaxing and the music is on for background noise. Or maybe you’re with someone, listening to music to set the mood. There’s an unpleasant twist that forms in his stomach at the thought.
“Hey,” he says easily, though he can barely hear your voice over the rapid pounding of his heart. “I figured a phone call may be easier than just texting. What are you doing?”
“Oh, yeah, that makes sense.” He hears you shuffling around, then the quiet click of a door closing as the music fades out. “I’m actually at a friends for dinner.”
A friend. He wants to ask more about your friend, but he knows he has no right to that information anymore.
“Sorry to interrupt your night,” he tells you, hoping his voice doesn’t betray how tense he is. His heart feels like it’s about to beat out of his chest.
“It’s fine. I have a couple minutes to spare.” You sound relaxed. Like speaking to Satoru doesn’t have the same effect on you as it does on him. Like talking to him is just like talking to anybody else. He knows it’s his own fault it’s this way, but it still stings. “Did you need something?”
You.
That’s what Satoru wants to say. More than anything, he wants to tell you that he wants you back, that he needs you back. He wants to tell you he made a mistake breaking up with you, that he’s so sorry. He wants to ask that you’ll please forgive him.
Satoru wants to say he regrets his decision to call it quits. Wants to admit that he should have made more of an effort to make it work out and not have been so fucking weak. He wants to tell you that if you’re willing to give it another try he is, too.
That’s what he wants.
Because after everything, he still l–
“Satoru?” You repeat your question and Satoru realizes he’s let the silence hang in the air between you both for far too long.
“Oh, I jus–”
“Babe? Dinner’s ready. Do you want any wine with yours?” A deep voice cuts through the quiet and Satoru feels his heart drop hearing someone else call you by the name that was once meant for only his use. He hears soft shuffling and hushed whispers and a “sorry, I thought you were off the phone, babe. You were quiet–”
He can tell you’ve muted your phone. He can’t hear anything anymore. The looming silence makes Satoru want to hang up on you so he can swallow the bitterness he feels. So you had moved on, found someone else who gets to treat you the way Satoru should have. It’s fair. It’s been years since you two had broken up. You’d barely started speaking again. Of course you would find someone new. You were perfect and anyone would be an idiot to let you go. Much like Satoru was.
His thumb lingers over the end call button on his screen…and then you’re back just before he presses it.
“Sorry about that,” you breathe. “Anyway, did you need something, Satoru?”
“That your friend?” Satoru asks, ignoring your question completely. He can’t even pretend it’s not because he wants to know who the hell was calling you ‘babe’.
You clear your throat. “No, ah…that’s my boyfriend,” you finally tell him.
The silence falls over you again for a few seconds, Satoru trying to find his words. Again, it’s fair for you to date someone else. Satoru had ended things. He lost his right to be jealous when he did. And yet, against his better judgment, he leans into the bitterness he felt moments ago, forcing out a laugh. “Good! Oh, that’s good for you. Glad you found someone.”
“...Thanks?”
Satoru hums. “Yeah. I mean, glad we both moved on. I was actually worried when I was calling that you’d still be hung up on me or something.” He winces, but laughs awkwardly again. Knows he just shot himself in the foot. Maybe you’ll just laugh it off, take it as a bad joke.
“Yeah.” Your voice is clipped, short. “Okay, well, it was great catching up with you, Satoru. I have to go now.”
Fuck fuck fuck.
“Got it. Well, have fun at your din–”
The line goes dead.
Satoru tosses his phone to the side, throws himself back on his bed with a groan.
“Idiot.”
You don’t return any more of his calls or texts.
......
Present
Satoru’s feet carry him through the crowd, conversation drifting through the air. He can hear Utahime yelling at Suguru and Satoru resists the damn near instinctual urge to turn towards the screeching so he can join Suguru in whatever antics set her off. It’s always funny seeing how red her face gets. He also hears the sounds of Shoko’s airy laugh as she catches up with Nanami and Ijichi. An odd group, he thinks, but Satoru doesn’t have time to dwell on it because he hears the sweet sound of your laugh and–
Wait.
He stops in his tracks, the drink in his hand sloshing with the abrupt halt. He turns his head to peer over the crowd, but he doesn’t see anything, doesn’t see you. Maybe his mind is playing tricks on him. There’s no way you’d actually be here. You’re overseas. At least, he thinks you may be overseas. That’s the last thing he knew about you for certain. Satoru’s not sure what you’re up to these days. He hasn’t asked, afraid of what the answer will be. He’s not sure he could handle knowing you’re potentially engaged or happily married. Hell, he’s not sure he could handle knowing if you’re dating someone.
His piercing blue gaze finally lands on you and he realizes Haibara was actually not joking about someone potentially leaving with you tonight. Because you’re right there, off to the side of the crowd with some man, giggling at whatever he’s saying.
Satoru knows it’s you, even from a distance. He couldn’t mistake those beautiful eyes for anyone else's, the way they crinkle ever so slightly in the corners when you smile. He could never mistake those luscious, glossed lips he loved to kiss. You’re all smiles, as stunning as he remembers.
Everything keeps moving as time seems to stand still only for Satoru, his eyes never leaving you. And he knows he’s at this party with someone else. That’s what he should be focused on, but you’re all he cares about right now. His gaze locks onto your lips, following the curve of your smile, the way your tongue darts out just a bit to run along your bottom lip, the way those lips form your words.
You may still hate him after all this time, but Satoru wants to talk to you. He almost wants to get just close enough for you to notice him. Maybe you’ll make the first move and talk to him.
‘What the fuck am I doing?’ He thinks, lips pursed in concentration.
He should get back to his actual girlfriend. He’s been gone for too long. She’s bound to come looking for him if he doesn’t get back to her soon. Yeah, he’ll just go back. Talking to you won’t be good for him anyway –
The man you’re speaking to leans forward, his lips moving to your ear and Satoru, with his eyes still glued to your lips, feels his blood boil as he watches them part with what he’s pretty sure is a sigh. When he sees your hand come up to lay on the other man’s arm, his nostrils flare with irritation. When you smirk at what the man is whispering, he feels his jaw tighten. And when the other man’s hand comes to land on your waist, Satoru’s feet move before he even realizes what he’s doing.
As he approaches, the man steps away, a slick grin on his face and you roll your eyes, shaking your head and giggling. Are you actually flirting with this guy? It’s only as he gets closer that Satoru can better make out who it is; poorly done bleach job, shitty eyeliner around his eyes, and too many ear piercings. It’s just Naoya Zenin. From what Satoru remembers, you hated that fucker all of high school.
Unless something’s changed and suddenly you’re into him? Is this who you’re dating now?
Satoru wants to be pissed, but this may work in his favor. If you could be on good terms with Naoya, who you absolutely despised for as long as you’d known him, then maybe you had room in your heart to forgive him for being such a piece of shit to you all those years ago.
Your eyes drift over to Satoru as he approaches you both. And you hardly react, only offering him a small smile before your attention drifts back to Naoya. And though a tiny curve of your lips is something, the lack of a reaction kind of annoys the shit out of him.
“Hey,” Satoru greets, mainly directed towards you because fuck Naoya.
“Hi, Satoru.” You fold your arms over your chest, eyes coming back to meet his. God, you’re as pretty as Satoru remembers you being. This close to you, Satoru can see how much you’ve changed. And time has been very good to you. You’re still beautiful in the youthful way Satoru remembers, but you’re grown now. His eyes trail down your frame quickly, drinking in the way you’ve filled out.
“Gojo…” Naoya says with clear disdain in his voice.
“Zenin.”
And it’s quiet now. Awkward. But it doesn’t matter to Satoru. His eyes are only on you.
You pull your gaze away from Satoru and back to Naoya.
“You look great,” Satoru tells you, sipping the drink meant for his girlfriend to keep himself from potentially following up with something stupid. He grimaces slightly at the taste before trying to cover it with a lopsided grin.
And you give him the same grin back, a little shy. It’s cute.
“Thanks, Satoru. You look good, too.”
“I didn’t know you were back in town.”
“Yeah, I’ve been back for a few months now. Just settling back in and working,” your brows knit together as you lean to the side to glance around Satoru. “I’m surprised Suguru didn’t tell you since I just had lunch with him like two days ago.”
He realizes you must be looking for Suguru when you straighten your stance again. Deep in his mind, Satoru makes a mental note to have a word with Suguru about this later. Next to him, Naoya snorts and Satoru has to resist saying something that will surely end with them in a fight. You must sense the tension because you ask Naoya if he can grab you a drink which prompts an eye roll from him, but he goes anyway.
“Doubt he’ll be back,” you mutter to Satoru with a smirk. “That asshole wants to hook up so bad it’s pathetic,” a soft chuckle rushes past your lips.
“Not interested, then?” Satoru jokes, a smile spread across his face.
You narrow your eyes, “Ha ha. You know I hate that guy. He won’t be back anyway. No way he’s gonna waste time getting a drink for someone who isn’t fucking him at the end of the night.”
If you weren’t still watching Naoya push his way through the crowd of partygoers, you may have seen Satoru visibly deflate.
“Ah, good to know you haven’t lowered your standards,” Satoru says and you laugh. The sound makes Satoru’s head spin. It’s been so long since he’s heard it.
“I don’t think my standards could ever be low enough to fuck Naoya,” you clarify, nose crinkling in disgust. Satoru chuckles at your reaction, watching as you shift uncomfortably before him. You fidget with the hem of your dress before you speak again.
“It’s actually really good to see you, Satoru.”
“Is it really?”
“Yeah, I’ve been meaning to reach out for a while. Life just got away from me.”
Satoru’s brows lift in surprise. “Reach out for what?” Your eyes are boring into his, wide and surveying, peering into his soul. Just the way they always did.
“I just felt like things left off on such a sour note with us. And you reached out trying to build a friendship and at the first sign of things getting weird, I just…ran. Didn’t look back. You were trying and I wasn’t. You didn’t deserve that.”
He knows you’re referring to the last time you’d spoken, though he’s not sure why you’re the one trying to apologize.
“And I just wanted to say I’m sorry for being a terrible friend to you.”
You always were way too sweet to him. He didn’t deserve that.
“I should be apologizing to you,” Satoru shakes his head. “I was still jealous back then. When I said I was worried you were still hung up on me, it’s because I was trying to cover up the fact that I was still hung up on you. Hearing your boyfriend call you babe–”
“Ex-boyfriend,” you interrupt, a soft smile gracing your features. Satoru smirks.
“Hearing your ex-boyfriend call you babe, it just…made me feel a lot of things I didn’t understand at the time. I shouldn’t have said what I did to set you off. I’m sorry.”
It’s only been a few minutes of you talking and it already feels like a weight has been lifted, like the wall you put up all those years ago has come down. You both must look strange, just standing off in the corner alone staring and smiling at each other like you’re the only two people in the room.
You talk a bit more, catch up on life. It doesn’t take long for things to feel comfortable between you two again - for your bodies to move a little closer, for your eyes to meet more often, for your shy touches to linger a little longer.
You’ve got your hand wrapped around Satoru’s forearm, snickering at something he’s said. And when you glance up at him, there’s something in your eyes telling him it’s okay to ask this. Because Satoru is happy to know you’re not interested in Naoya, even happier to know you’ve broken up with your college boyfriend, but what he wants to know now is –
“Are you seeing anyone? Dating, I mean,” He asks while he still has the nerve and tries not to let his eyes fall to your mouth when you shake your head and draw your lower lip between your teeth.
“Nope, single and just enjoying life honestly. You?”
Yes.
“Me?” Satoru asks.
Say yes, stupid.
You nod. “Yeah, you. Are you with someone?”
Yes. Yes.
“Uhh, well…”
YES.
The voice in his head is screaming the answer, the one he knows he should give you. The one that would confirm to Satoru that even after everything he’s done, he’s not a shitty person, not a terrible boyfriend. But when he looks at you, eyes shining up at him with those pretty lips curled into a smirk, he doesn’t want anything more than to be with you.
God, he’s such a piece of shit. He knows it. He’s not even thinking about his girlfriend still sitting around waiting for him to come back. He’s got tunnel vision and the only thing he sees is you.
Say yes!
“I…am not…with someone.”
......
The door to Suguru’s master bathroom slams shut, your back pressed against it as Satoru’s lips find your neck, licking a long strip from your collarbone up to your chin.
“Ah- Toru, the door. Lock the door,” you gasp, threading your fingers into his soft tresses to pull him down for a kiss. His fingers fumble around before he finds the lock, quickly turning before he breaks the kiss to focus on your neck again, kissing and sucking, marking anywhere he can. Your hands move to glide underneath his shirt, fingers grazing over his defined muscles and you sigh just as Satoru moves away from your neck to press his lips against yours.
Soft. So soft. It’s been so long since Satoru’s had you like this. He’d forgotten your taste, your smell and right now, it feels like he can’t get enough. Fuck the liquor, he’s drunk on you.
“Can I touch you?” Satoru breathes against your mouth. And you nod, kissing him again. He groans as your lips part, tongue slipping out to glide against his lips, seeking entry. And he obliges, gives you all the access you want as your tongues tangle together. You moan into his mouth, the sound shooting straight to his cock.
The dress you’re wearing is nice, simple but fits your body beautifully. Satoru can’t wait to get underneath it. He reaches down, pulling the hem of your dress up until it’s sitting at your waist. He slips his hand into your panties, hissing when he feels how soaked you are.
“So wet for me,” Satoru whispers into the kiss. “You want me that bad, baby?”
You nod, panting hard. “Yeah, so bad, Satoru,” you moan when his fingers glide through your slick fold, back arching off the door. “Fuck, I want you so bad.”
“I’m yours, baby.”
His lips crash into yours again, fingers working tight circles against your clit. You cry out, your hands balling into fists as you cling to Satoru’s shirt. He breaks the kiss, pressing his face into your neck as one of his fingers finds your entrance, plunging in slowly. Your mouth opens with a gasp as Satoru pumps into you, curling his finger until he finds your sweet spot.
He pulls back, watches your face as he slips another finger inside. He likes the way your legs shake when he turns his fingers a certain way. And the way your back arches off the door when he presses his thumb to your clit. It’s all new to him, these reactions you’re giving. You were a lot younger when you’d first become intimate. Now, it’s clear you’re much more experienced. The thought bothers and excites Satoru.
He pulls his fingers from your core, kissing you when you poke your lip out in a pout. And then he’s bending you over the bathroom sink, pushing your dress even higher before he slips his fingers in the waistband of your panties and pulls them down.
“Fuck, I never thought I’d see you like this again,” he groans, palming himself through his pants.
“Toru, stop wasting time and fuck me, please.”
You’re a lot more demanding now too, apparently. He doesn’t mind.
“Did you miss me?” Satoru asks, because he’s dying to know. Did you think about him when you were with your boyfriend? Were you trying not to cry out Satoru’s name when you fucked him? Did you want him back as much as he wanted you?
Satoru unbuttons his jeans, pulls his pants and boxers down together, hissing as his cock springs free. He’s so fucking hard, he could cum just looking at you bent over the sink like this. But Satoru wants to savor you, wants to enjoy this moment of having you again for the first time in so long. He reaches over and pulls open one of the bathroom drawers, fishing around until he finds a condom and he mentally thanks Suguru for always being prepared.
“Tell me,” he demands, wrapping a hand around his length. He strokes himself lazily as he rips the condom open. He rolls the condom down his length, lining himself up with your entrance. “Did you miss me?”
You’re so patient, waiting quietly for Satoru. Although, he can hear your breathing becoming a little harsher in anticipation. Satoru moves behind you, lines himself up with your entrance and just before he’s about to roll his hips forward, he glances up to see his reflection in the mirror with you bent over and ready for him.
“Look at me,” he says. You look up, watching him through the reflection. Even in the dim lighting of the bathroom, Satoru can see your pupils blown wide with lust matching his own. He wants to see you, wants to see your face when you take him for the first time in so long.
“Look at me,” he tells you again.
“Okay,” you breathe.
“Tell me you missed me,” Satoru quietly demands as he pushes forward, sliding the tip through your folds and sinking in slowly.
“Fuuuuuuck,” your mouth falls slack with a moan. Satoru’s hands find your waist, holding your curves as he sinks into you. “I missed you, Toru. So much, so fucking much.”
“God, baby, you have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to hear you say that.”
He’s halfway in and he has to stop to catch his breath because hearing you moan his name like that…He may not make it all the way in without blowing his load right into the condom. You’re suffocating him, clenching onto his cock so hard he’s almost afraid to move.
“Satoru, please. Don’t stop,” you plead. He meets your gaze in the mirror again, sees the way your eyes burn with desire. Satoru pulls his hips back until only his tip sits inside you and then he rolls his hips forward, burying himself as deep in your cunt as he can.
Your walls clench down on his cock and he moans again before he starts to move, pounding into you at an unrelenting pace. You cry out his name and he keeps moving, not letting up.
Satoru brings a hand around your neck, holding your head in place so he can look at you through the mirror. He sinks into you, bending down to kiss along your neck, your shoulders, your back as he bottoms out again and again, moaning his pleasure against you.
Satoru thinks you feel like heaven. It’s the only thing he can think when he leans back and grips on to your waist again, watching your face contort in ecstasy. Every little sound you make, every moan, every sigh, every “right there” you utter brings Satoru closer and closer to his release.
Satoru has missed you. He’s missed the way your skin feels against his, missed the way your breath hitches in your throat when his cock hits just the right spot, missed touching and grabbing the soft curves of your beautiful body. Missed how your ass bounces with each thrust, cheeks spreading just enough to give him a glimpse of that tight little hole he’s never gotten the chance to have. And god, he hopes no one else has either.
More than anything though, he’s missed the way you take all of him, hug him tight like you never want to let him go. Fuck, he could live inside you and never get tired of it. The thought alone, the thought of having you all to himself again has him leaning forward, moaning into the space between your shoulders as he rocks his hips against you. The loud smacking noises of Satoru’s groin meeting your ass echo throughout the bathroom, and he doesn’t care who hears.
“Fuuuck, how are you so fucking tight, still?” Satoru groans, reminiscing on the first time he’d ever had you. An out of body experience for him, personally. Truly unforgettable.
“I’m never letting you go again,” he grunts, feeling your walls begin to flutter around him.
“Toru, I’m close,” you whimper. “So close, Toru, don’t stop.”
“Cum for me baby,” Satoru groans, hand sliding down your side to find your center again. He rubs tight circles on your clit, eyes rolling to the back of his head when he feels your pussy squeeze down on him as you cry out his name, your release crashing over you.
It’s so tight, so fucking tight Satoru thinks he might pass out. He can’t breathe, can’t think, can’t fucking see straight, you’re gripping him so hard.
“Ah- fuck, oh fuck! I’m gonna cum. Baby, I’m gonna cum,” he grits out as he pushes his cock all the way inside you, thrusting as deep as he can go as hot spurts of cum fill the condom. He leans forward, pressing his forehead against your back as you both catch your breath.
Satoru meant what he said. He never wants to let you go. He has every intention of being with you. After you’ve both come down from your highs and cleaned up, Satoru kisses you gently. He watches as you turn back to the mirror. You’re even more beautiful as you tame your messy hair, fix your makeup and adjust your dress.
“Do you wanna get out of here?” He asks, ready to make up for years worth of lost time.
Your eyes meet in the mirror, your lips tilting with a small smile. “Yeah, let’s go.”
......
Fingers laced, you and Satoru weave through the party together. The crowd seems to have thinned out now with how late it’s getting. It’s the perfect time to get out of here with you, take you home and –
“Satoru! There you are!” A familiar voice squeals. The sound makes Satoru quickly yank his hand from your grip. You stop in your tracks, brows furrowing as you look up at him.
“What’s the matter?” You ask just as this person you don’t know bounds up to him and wraps her arms around Satoru’s neck, pressing a sweet kiss to his cheek before she lets go.
And Satoru isn’t sure how he hasn’t noticed this before. It seems like some sick twist of fate that it’s only now that you’re standing next to each other that he sees how eerily similar you and his girlfriend look. It makes his stomach churn.
But his girlfriend, so drunk and so sweet, turns to you and beams as she holds out her hand to you. “Hi! I don’t think we’ve met before. I’m Satoru’s girlfriend…” His stomach nearly drops into his ass. “...you are?”
God, he wishes he could teleport out of here. Or that the ground would open wide and swallow him whole, bury him 8,000 meters beneath the earth. Anything to avoid being present at this moment. He peers down at you briefly, your hand extending to shake his girlfriends for only a second. And Satoru thinks he may be imagining it, the sheer anger he can feel radiating off of your body, even as you return his girlfriend’s sweet smile.
“Satoru’s girlfriend?” You ask and he knows you’re making sure you aren’t hearing things. Because not too long ago, he told you he wasn’t tied down to anyone. “I wasn’t aware he was dating anyone.”
“Yep! Been together almost a year now,” she brags cheerily. Satoru really wishes she’d shut up for once in her damn life.
You breathe out a bitter laugh, gazing up at Satoru and he knows he’s not imagining the rage. He can see it swimming in your eyes even as you reach up, your thumb gently swiping the corner of his mouth where apparently remnants of your lip gloss remained. You hold your finger up to show him and then hold it up to show his girlfriend who five seconds ago was too drunk to notice. She seems to have sobered up quickly now, eyes focused on the lip gloss you just wiped from Satoru’s face.
You introduce yourself to her, wiping your thumb off on your dress before continuing, “And I’m sorry to tell you this, but I’m the girl who just fucked your lying boyfriend in the bathroom.”
Satoru watches in ill disguised horror as you crane your next to the side, gesturing to the marks he so stupidly made along your neck in the heat of passion. His eyes find his girlfriend who stands there, mouth agape.
“Satoru told me he wasn’t seeing anyone. If I had known it wouldn’t have happened. And believe me, it won’t ever happen again.” You turn to face Satoru one last time, gritting out, “I can’t fucking believe you. After all these years, you’re still such a piece of shit, Satoru.”
You don’t wait for a response from him, turning on your heel and storming through the crowd. Satoru watches as your back retreats, not sure what the hell he’d say even if he did catch up to you. How could he explain that he lied about his girlfriend because he wanted to spend more time with you? It’s not like he planned on fucking in the bathroom, it just happened. But there was no way you were going to give him a second of your time to try and explain.
There was no coming back from this.
When he finally loses sight of you in the crowd, Satoru reluctantly brings his gaze back down to his probably soon to be ex-girlfriend and is met with a fury similar to yours. Again, the similarities are uncanny. All the love and happiness once shining in her eyes is nowhere to be found as one question hangs in the air between them.
“Satoru, what the fuck is she talking about?”

Imma go ahead and ignore that icky word that's in there and make it S/O because I want to write Alastor. Here is my request page for anyone who wants to in the future. Please take a read before you come into my inbox :D
Can I request smut for Alastor, Lucifer & Crimson reacting to their [REDACTED] wearing lingerie?
Overall notes: Stories written on this blog are GN until specified. While this story uses they/them pronouns, and while I don't mind female readers on my blog/interacting, love my girlies, hey girlies~, but I do not write female reader, and if you are a fetishizer. fuck off??? ew. How would you even do that on an x reader???
C/W: NSFW topics, Each character will have their own respective warnings, Sexual content, duh, no pronouns used, Bottom! reader favored, Established relationships. OOC?, I mean this would never happen, so yeah ooc
Notes: the giggle I had to stop when I got to Alastor good god, but Lucifer was honestly the funniest and most enjoyable to write. I had a smile on my face the whole time
Crimson ♧︎...
C/W: Slight Voyeurism (mention of his right hand man Alessio), Degradation, he def has a sir kink, don't lie to me, mention of stealing/sugarbaby (hes an asshole) mention of stalkers? admirers?? idk he just mentions people leaving you gifts,
For being an old (mafia) man. He's not opposed to a little dress up
Only if its you though. He would NEVER
He would be into something with a little more class.
Never will his darling look like some 2 cent floozy
So none of that crotchless bull honky. While he wouldn't be mad at it, he would rather leave more to the imagination. Something to work for, y'know?
And he would certainly work for it.
You really wanna get him going? Accentuate your hips. That's something him and Moxxie can agree. They like their darling with a little bit of width~
If you are gonna wear something for him, you best put on a show while you're at it.
He waits to do business after dinner, so why not let him enjoy his meal
For an asshole he has some manners now
Always making you cum once or twice before even taking your outfit off.
It likes to wait before unwrapping his gift <3
But once he gets more accustom to your interest
He's definitely going to be the one buying you the set
well its his money that's being used, Al is the one who goes and picked them up. Poor baby...
"You're so needy, baby. But did you need to go and make yourself out to be a whore in the middle of a meeting?" Crimson said as he placed a hand on your waist. His desk might not be the most comfortable place, but it will do for now. It's not like he can ignore you when you got all dolled up for him.
"I don't remember buying this one. Alessio leaving you gifts now too?" His fingers slid under the thin fabric as you let out a soft whine before answering, "I got them,.. custom made, sir." you said, trying to steady your breathing as his hands wandered between your legs. You let out a yelp as he spreads your legs out more for himself.
"And where are you getting this money from, huh? Hope you're not stealing it from me, brat." He gives you a soft glare and a questioning look as his eyes scan over the fabric that covered you, before his spotted the embroidered 'C. Knolastname' on the front of the waist band. With his index finger and thumb, he hooked them around the band and traced the deigned. Crimson gives you a smirk and placed a kiss right under your belly button before moving down.
"Hmm... maybe i do have a use for that ring then after all, but i should repay this favor before hand. Right, (Y/n) Knolastname?"
Lucifer 𓅰...
C/W: light choking, another one with a superiority kink, mentions of god (he calls himself it), size kink for the fact I thought this man was like 5'8-10 come to look up his like 6'2-3, slight crack fic (because he wouldn't take anything seriously until truly needed, he giggles when you change in front of him, it's always a crack fic with him)
HE HAS A MATCHING SET!!
god how my perception of these characters have been warped
but he has most definitely bought you outfits before, probably the only one to go out of his way to get matching ones.
Even got a few custom ones made, you can always tell by the little duck embroidered somewhere on them.
He's game for anything you wanna wear. He isn't gonna stop you, if anything he's gonna encourage you to wear more.
He's helpless for you in such a pretty outfit and it's all for him?
He feels loved and he's sure to pay that back ten fold in the bedroom.
You might not allowed to be in heaven, but he can show you what it was like~
I maaay..be a bit delusional, but in private I feel like he's all giggly and shit.
Oh an he definitely was the first time you pulled this from your hat of tricks.
Almost a little to giggly i'd sat, to think the ruler of hell would be this flustered over an article of clothing is beyond me
But once he starts to become use to it. He starts to expect it. What? He is the king of Hell after all.
And he truly expects to be treated like one. (He's a brat when he doesn't get attention)
Be it sinner, hell-born, or even the 'perfect OC/that everyone loves who is half angel half devil/stronger then god/etc' he's gonna ask you one thing constantly...
"Please, my angel of death? Just one time, for me? Then i'll never ask again. Promise."
"I'm not wearing a duck tail while you fuck me. When- Where in hell did you even get these made?" you asked as you held up the pair of yellow lingerie with a duck tail sown on the back of the waist band.
"You shouldn't need to worry about that, my love. All you need to worry about is wearing them for me." He said with a light sigh and a shrug of his shoulders, a soft smile resting on his face.
"Again, I am not. fucking. wearing. them, you prick-!" As soon as you got the name out you felt yourself against the wall. The soft smile gone from Lucifer's face as a dark look pooled in his eyes, an unsettling stare never leaving yours. Before you could apologize, his hand wrapped around throat, his index finger pushed your face up to his as he spoke with a low voice.
Almost like that cheery devil was just a front...
"Oh, how far from grace you have fallen, my dear. Seems you already forgotten your god. But that's no trouble at all, for tonight..." His grip on your neck got tighter as he got closer to your ear and a sinister smile made itself at home upon his pale face. Y'know, you really only notice how big he is when he gets like this... oh that wasn't a complaint. Not when his presence alone encaged you against the wall, let alone the possessive grip that he had on you.
"I'll teach you how to praise my name once again."
Alastor 𐂂...
C/W: Teasing, sadly abo mention, WHY ARE YOU BOOING ME I AM RIGHT, blood mentions, possessive behaviors, light choking, mentions of cannabalism, duh, playing more into the abo, uhm, sniffing? idfk leave me alone its late. oh ft: a guest at the end.
Another man with class, just not as much. I mean, come on, he's still a sinner~
though when you present yourself to him in your outfit, he can't help, but raise a brow as he tried to keep down his smile at the sight.
Definitely a big tease, a BIG tease
Especially when you look so cute for him, squirming under his indifferent gaze. Oh how he wants to squeeze your cheeks and leave you begging for release~
He's also one for a game of cat and mouse.
so when you go out into town with him make sure to slip his favorite pair of lingerie under your clothes
And if you're one wear revealing clothes, then I hope you're ready for a possessive (and bloody) overlord, ad pray for anyone who thinks they can touch you, let alone come near you.
oh AND OHHHH wanna know how you really got him? How you really got to him??? When the static cuts out and that Louisiana drawl' comes out of him. (I would die. again.)
(If I say he has a rut would that be considered A/b/o? I mean he is a deer demon, same with other demons in a similar case)
but WHOOO WEE
for someone who normally has a distaste for touch that isn't initiated by him, He'll enjoy a night or two (on the rare occasion) where he lets you indulge yourself
though, do be careful now, he's a gentleman up and foremost, but he's not always a patient man at that. He's always willing to return the favor tenfold~
And if you already couldn't tell, he loves the color red, basically lives in it. So it's safe to it sets something off in him
be the cannibal in him, or maybe he just likes the color a little too much
but at the end of it you'll more marked up then a rough draft <3
"Bless your heart, Dear. Did you think I wouldn't notice... your little getup? His clawed fingers trailed your sides as he leaned down to whisper in your ear. His frame trapping you in your seat and god, would it be terrifying for any mere sinner in this position, if it wasn't for the playful twitch of his ear that told you otherwise. Someone was enjoying this more then he let on...
It wasn't the first time you had teased him in public, but it was the first time people really had the courage to come talk to you. To give the poor souls benefit of the doubt, you were just sat at the bar talking to husk. Though, you would also think the red pinstripe outfit and microphone that rested at your side gave itself away.
"And it seems i'm not the only one. Now, if I were to kill everyone in this god forsaken hotel. Whose fault would that be, hm?" A clawed hand made it's way around your throat as it softly pulled you back, letting him have full access to your neck. Burying his face in your neck, he took in a deep breathe as static radiated off him.
"Or maybe I should have you for a meal tonight. You do smell quite... appetizing, my darling. Such a shame I have to ruin that pretty little outfit of yours." Before you could even gasp a grumbling and angry voice rang out, bringing you both back into reality.
"Can you two not fuck at my bar please? You are just as bad as that damn spider."
"Oh of course Husker! We'll get out of your fur right now actually! Wasn't like these pathetic things were going to get a taste of you anyways."

You genuinely enjoy being single.
With your last relationship officially in the trash, you’ve found yourself settled into a comfortable peace. There’s no man in your life to mess up your plans, to force you to have to compromise or share anything, to suck up your energy and domestic labor like some kind of emotional vampire. You can do what you want, whenever you want, and you have a reliable rotation of both sex toys and fuckbuddies to keep you physically satisfied when the need arises.
Being single, you have come to learn, is fucking great.
Except when you get sick.
A knock at your apartment door drags you out of your DayQuil-induced slumber. You move to sit up with a sniffle before letting yourself drop back into your veritable nest of blankets on the couch, struck with the immediate recollection: it’s just the food you ordered. You’d specifically put in a request that they leave it at the door, but maybe the delivery person is just being nice and letting you know it’s there.
Except then they knock again.
And ring the doorbell.
“Jesus,” you groan to yourself, aggressively enough that you’re nearly sent into a fresh coughing fit, but you manage to choke down the spasm in your lungs as you drag yourself to standing. You cross the short distance from your couch to the front door, sure you look like death warmed over, and swing the door open.
At first, you’re certain it’s the DayQuil fucking with you.
“Taehyung?”
The corner of his mouth pulls up as he blinks sweetly at you, expressive almond eyes peeking out beneath untidy dark hair— extra fluffy today, like he’s just washed it and waltzed out of the house without any styling. His clothes tell the same story, a plain gray hoodie and joggers, creased a little like he’d just pulled them off his bedroom floor, though everything looks fresh off the runway on him.
As your eyes trail down his frame, you take in the container of ramen you ordered, held easily in one of his large hands, his long fingers hooking over the side.
His presence is typically a welcome one, particularly on Friday nights like tonight, but those are circumstances where you tend to be a little more… put together. So why is he here tonight?
“When did you start working for D—”
The food delivery service name dies on your tongue as your thoughts finally catch up with your mouth. He’s here tonight because it’s Friday, and this is what you do on Fridays. He’s here because you didn’t cancel. You’d had the thought in a drowsy half-awake state between naps, then had promptly rolled over and pressed your face into the pillow, telling yourself you’d remember to text Taehyung when you woke up.
Which of course, you did not. And so here he is, having clearly intercepted your delivery. And, it now occurs to you, having to witness how absolutely godawful you must look in your stained sweatpants, your hair surely a mess from a day spent napping on the couch.
“Oh fuck,” you mutter, quickly crossing your arms over your baggy t-shirt, suddenly very aware of the fact that you’re not wearing a bra. Why that matters when you’re standing in front of a man who regularly leaves hickeys all over your tits, you’re not sure, but in this moment it somehow feels like it does.
“Tae,” you take a step back, trying to keep him out of your germ radius. “I’m so sorry, I forgot to text you. I’m super sick, I think it’s the flu. You should go.”
He frowns a little, his eyes jumping from you down to the takeout container in his hands. “This is like, barely warm.”
That makes you smile a little despite yourself. A very Taehyung greeting.
“Yeah, well.” You roll your eyes. “I pay twice as much so it can take an hour and be cold by the time it gets here. Makes sense, right?”
His dazzling smile at your sarcastic remark only heightens your own self-consciousness, and you quickly extend a hand for the container.
“Sorry to make you come all this way. Hopefully next week I’ll be back to normal.”
Taehyung nods, yet makes no move to hand over the soup he’s currently holding hostage. “You should rest. Let me heat it up for you.”
You can’t help but wonder what he expects to happen when he crosses the threshold, and that makes you heave a sigh, then quickly bury the cough that chases after it into the crook of your elbow.
Thankfully your voice doesn’t give out when you manage to answer him. “I’m serious, Tae. I’m not—” you pause, considering how to phrase it: desperate to be railed? “—you know, the way I usually am on Fridays. Nothing’s gonna happen tonight. Except maybe you’ll get sick.”
He shrugs, like there are worse things. “I get it. But you shouldn’t be alone.”
At least he’s been sufficiently warned, you think to yourself, and then you relent, leaving the front door of your apartment swung wide as you step back across the living room to promptly collapse onto the couch again. You bury your face in the blankets with a muffled groan as you hear Taehyung shut the door behind him, then make his way into the kitchen.
As is typical with any man that enters your kitchen, you expect to have to walk Taehyung step-by-step through how to do everything. But, to your surprise, he asks no questions: he seems to find a good-sized pot and figure out how to work the stove all on his own, and you can hear him humming softly to himself as he goes.
Truly a credit to the male species, you think to yourself with a bitter laugh.
You collapse back against the cushions, a little too aware of the fuckbuddy in your kitchen to be able to drift off to sleep entirely. Nevertheless, you still find yourself slipping into a haze, your eyes dropping shut just to snap open again at the tap of a bowl being set down on the coffee table in front of you.
Your eyes widen as you sit up and stare down at your ramen, only to find two halves of a soft-boiled egg staring back up at you. You’d ordered from your favorite place in the city, which is easily the best ramen you’ve had in your life, but you know those fuckers charge extra for an egg. Which is why your cheap ass never orders one.
But here one is. So that means…
Taehyung drops down onto the couch next to you before you can even finish compiling the thought in your brain, but he must be able to read the look on your face. “Oh, do you not like eggs?”
“I— no,” you answer quickly. “I mean yes. I mean, I like them, I just… Thank you.”
You glance up in time to see him shrug, his mouth twisting a little, like he’s suddenly made shy by his own kindness. “Gotta get your protein in,” he offers casually, and you laugh over the steam rising up from your bowl.
He keeps a tentative cushion’s distance away from you, but you can feel his eyes watching as you take your first sip of the rich, warm broth. While you slurp it down, you tell yourself not to get greedy with Taehyung’s time: you expect this will be it, that with his act of kindness done for the day, he’ll get to his feet and be on his way. As soon as your front door slams shut behind him, he’ll probably be pulling up his text messages with one of the many other options that must be available to him.
You try to ignore the way that thought makes your stomach twist, to just eat your damn soup and not think about it. It’s fine. It doesn’t matter.
But to your surprise, Taehyung leans forward and snatches the TV remote off your coffee table with a triumphant sigh before slumping back against the couch, like he’s settling in. “Do you wanna watch something?”
You shake your head as you take another sip before answering. “You really don’t have to stay, Tae. I can appreciate that I’m not a lot of fun to be around tonight. And obviously you didn’t come here to watch me eat ramen.”
Already starting to scroll through your streaming services, Taehyung runs his free hand through his hair with a knowing, slightly horny smile. “Depends on what you mean by eat ramen.”
You nearly choke on a noodle, but he’s otherwise distracted, mouth dropping open a little as he clicks into one of the options.
“Oh, I know what we can watch.”
When he pulls up A Charlie Brown Christmas and promptly presses play, you can’t help smirking. “Christmas? You’re, what, five days late?”
Taehyung’s mouth opens again, like he’s going to say something, and then he just smiles that same self-conscious smile. “Ah, I just like the music.”
His long fingers splay out in front of him, miming along to the opening melody while he adopts the faux-cool expression of a jazz pianist. You hide a giggle in another sip of broth, and he quickly shrugs the impression off, crossing his arms over his chest as if to keep his limbs under control.
“And it’s cute,” he adds, voice halfway between shy and sentimental. “The little tree.”
It occurs to you now that you’ve never seen Taehyung so… your brain can’t find the right word. He’s just different tonight.
You nod as you slurp up a strand of noodles, and you can’t deny that he’s right as the movie plays on. It’s been years since you’ve seen it, not since you were a kid, but it’s just as enjoyable now, somehow timeless. You find yourself smiling softly as you finish your meal and settle back against the couch, tugging the blanket up to your chin.
All at once, Taehyung jumps up, and you watch dumbfounded as he silently scoops up your dishes and disappears off to the kitchen. When you hear the tap switch on, your jaw drops in sheer disbelief, and you sit up again, peeking over the back of the couch to get a glimpse of him: he’s pulled on the dishwashing gloves you keep tucked next to the sink and is making short work of not just the bowl and the pot, but the takeout container too, and your various other sick-person dishes you’d regrettably let pile up. Humming to himself along with Vince Guaraldi, like it’s something he does every day.
Your head spins as you drop back down against the cushion. What is happening? Did you take too much cold medicine?
That thought only reverberates louder in your brain when he returns, still humming the last few notes of the song. This time he chooses to settle in right beside you on the couch, as if entirely unconcerned about the contagious virus running rampant in your body— he just pulls you into his side, one arm wrapped over your shoulders, fingertips casually starting to play with the ends of your hair. Like it’s that easy.
You glance up at him, shaking your head a little, and Taehyung looks down to meet your gaze. “What?”
“This is just…” An incredulous laugh cuts off the end of your sentence. It’s hard to believe you’re looking at the same person. This can’t be the man who wraps his hand around your throat as he spits into your mouth, who will keep you in his bed for hours until you’re crying from overstimulation, who fucks you so good you can hardly walk the next day.
“I didn’t expect you to be like this,” you admit, pairing the words with a finger driven gently into Taehyung’s ribs. He squirms a little. “You’re… sweet.”
Taehyung’s lips part, and then he pauses, clearly considering how exactly to answer you. His mouth turns up soft at the corners, hesitant, as if he’s embarrassed to say what comes next. And then he says it. “You didn’t seem like you wanted sweet.”
The words settle over you, offered quietly in the low, rich tones of his voice, and as you keep gazing up at him, it strikes you: he’s not wrong. If he’d pulled this cozy domestic housewife act on you any earlier, on a normal Friday, you would’ve sent him packing without hesitation.
That thought makes you a little sad.
You tuck back in against Taehyung’s side, trying to refocus on the TV screen as you snuggle in under the blanket. Pressed close like this, you can feel the sturdy thud of his heartbeat in his chest, at a rhythm not dissimilar to yours.
“Well, I won’t tell anyone,” you breathe, and you swear you can hear him smile.
His touch lingers as the last few minutes of the movie play on: slipping from the ends of your hair to trace over the fabric of your shirt, then sliding further up to dip beneath the collar of it. The talented fingers you’ve become well-acquainted with work their magic in a new way, pressing firm circles into the muscles of your shoulders, muscles you didn’t realize were pinched so tight until he starts to work them open.
“Fuck,” you murmur, shifting a little to allow him better access as he continues. “That feels so good.” You can’t quite help the laugh that flutters out after your words; it’s certainly not the first time he’s made you say them.
There’s a small huff of breath from Taehyung beside you, and then his hand moves up to cup the back of your neck and give a gentle squeeze. It’s a comforting motion, and just arousing enough to make you sigh a note, your eyes briefly dropping shut. When they flutter open again, you realize the movie has ended, that he’s looking down at you, a knowing smirk toying at his lips.
Don’t start,” you warn, unable to keep your voice entirely serious. “I meant what I said, I’m tapped out for the night.”
Taehyung raises his palms in the air, as if to claim his innocence, and you find yourself instantly missing the heat of his hand on your skin. “All I was thinking is that I kinda want dessert. Too tapped out for that?”
“I’ll never say no to dessert,” you admit with a soft smile. “I think I have ice cream in the freezer.”
Something glints in Taehyung’s eyes at your words. All at once he untangles himself from you and, rather than standing up and walking the long way around like a normal human, chooses instead to vault himself over the back of the couch, as if to get your freezer as fast as possible. You tip back against the cushions, momentarily overcome with laughter, and thankfully, it doesn’t trigger a cough attack.
After a second, you cocoon the blanket around yourself, then get up to follow after him, dropping unceremoniously down onto one of the barstools tucked on the far side of your kitchen island.
Taehyung glances up, clearly surprised, then continues trying drawers until he finds the silverware and retrieves two spoons.
“Just want to keep you company,” you say by way of explanation as he hands you one, and you reach down to pry off the lid of the pint of chocolate ice cream he’s set down on the counter. It’s only as you glance up again that you realize he’s grabbed something else, too, and is continuing to rummage through your cupboards. “Wait, what are you doing?”
There’s an innocent look on Taehyung’s face as he rights himself, the handle of a pan clutched in one hand. “I found something when I was looking for the ice cream. It’s my favorite. And I thought it might make you feel better, too.”
“Uh huh,” you intone, though your mouth is already starting to tick up, endeared. “A completely selfless act, I’m sure.”
“Of course it is,” he answers with an over-exaggerated wink, flipping the pan cooly in his grip. You squint at the bag as he thuds it down on the counter beside him, then sets the pan on the stove and flips on the burner beneath it.
Hotteok. You’d completely forgotten you’d even picked the bag of frozen sweet pancakes up a few weeks ago, that you had purposefully tucked them into the back of your fridge for a particularly good— or bad— day.
“Chef Kim,” you ask, feigning the tone of a journalist conducting an important interview as you fish your phone out of the pocket of your sweatpants. “Can I interest you in some background music, or do you prefer to cook in absolute silence?”
Taehyung glances back over his shoulder at you, his grin nearly too big for his face. “How about Sinatra?”
You raise one eyebrow at the admittedly unexpected suggestion. “Frank or Nancy?”
He pauses for a moment, as if considering. “Either.”
It’s only a few taps, and then Come Fly With Me is floating out of your Bluetooth speaker, and Taehyung is singing along to himself as he drops a frozen disc onto the heated pan, occasionally turning back to deliver lines to you with an extended hand.
You roll your eyes as you drag your spoon through the top layer of softening ice cream, sucking it into your mouth in an attempt to hide the grin that’s spread over your face.
By the third song you find yourself humming along too, trying not to put too much strain on your still-weak throat. The kitchen has started to smell of sweet, toasted dough as Taehyung works diligently at the stove, and he finally flips the burner off before turning back to you, a plate in each hand and a thick pancake stacked atop each plate.
“Sous chef, will you please apply the ice cream?” he asks, eyes wide and blinking as he sets the dishes down.
Quickly playing along, you nod as you begin to scoop a healthy amount onto each plate. “Yes, chef!”
“And sous chef, do you, uh… have any chocolate sauce?”
You bite back a laugh as his roleplay falls apart as quickly as it began. “It’s in the fridge.”
Taehyung promptly turns and pulls the door open, eyes searching the shelves before he finally spots the dark brown bottle and lets out a triumphant hum. He nudges the fridge shut again with his hip before striding back toward you.
“Plating is key,” he muses. You answer with an appreciative nod and a giggle when he uncaps the sauce, then leans down close to the plates, feigning intense focus as he drizzles each dollop of ice cream with stripes of chocolate.
Once his artful design is complete, he steps back, his tongue toying at the corner of his mouth as he spins one plate to admire his handiwork.
“What do you think, chef?” you tease, and he nods once, decisive.
“It’s perfect.” He glances up, shooting you a grin that knocks the breath from your lungs, and you try to collect yourself as he nudges a plate toward you, encouraging you to take a bite.
You carve your spoon through the pastry, right down the middle where it’s stuffed full of sweet brown sugar syrup. The flaky layers pull apart at the impact, warm enough that you can see steam rising off of the golden dough. You pair a small piece of pancake with a wedge of ice cream on your spoon, then bring both into your mouth at once, and the contrasting mixtures linger on your tongue: hot and cold, sticky sugar chased by rich chocolate. It’s so good that you can’t help but make a soft, appreciative noise as you press your hand to your mouth and chew.
“Do you want to know something?” Taehyung’s voice pulls your attention back, and you look up at him.
“What?”
“Today’s my birthday.”
There’s a split second where you wonder if this is another imagined scenario, and then your eyes widen as you take in the look on his face and realize he’s entirely serious.
“Wait, Taehyung, really?”
He nods once, bringing a spoonful of ice cream to his lips.
“I-I had no idea,” you stammer, suddenly feeling like an asshole. His birthday, and he’s here waiting on you hand and foot, while you haven’t so much as said a word of felicitations. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry.”
As soon as the words leave your mouth, he’s waving away your apology with his spoon, then proceeding to answer around his bite of food. “It’s not like I expected you to know. I don’t really make a big deal of it.” He shrugs. “I tend to… I don't know. I get sort of melancholy this time of year. The holidays, my birthday. It’s a lot all at once. A lot of pressure. To be happy. To have everything figured out.”
Nodding slowly, you let his words fully wash over you before you respond. “I get that,” you finally murmur, working off another piece of hotteok. “Nobody ever talks about it, but I feel like birthdays are kinda weird as an adult. You have enough of them and it just starts to feel like a day, you know? Not special.”
“I usually find myself just hiding out, waiting for it to be over,” Taehyung admits.
You take a second to think back. “Yeah. I didn’t even do anything on my birthday this year.” A self-pitying laugh rises up before you can stop it. “Honestly, this whole year was such a flop. I’m glad it’s nearly done.”
Taehyung makes a face like he can’t disagree. “Hey, sometimes that’s life.” He pauses, brow furrowing slightly, then reaches a palm across the table. “Can I play a song?”
“Go ahead,” you offer, pushing your phone into his hand. You scrape your spoon along your dwindling dessert, and haven’t even managed to bring the assembled bite to your mouth before the music changes— from one Frank Sinatra song to another, this one with a driving blues rhythm.
Taehyung is already on his feet, hips starting to sway. “Ah, come on. You have to dance with me.”
He’s closed the distance between you before you can even protest, his hands smoothing across the blanket still wrapped over your shoulders.
“Let me take your coat, ma’am.”
You shift off the stool and onto your feet with a smile as he unwraps the blanket from around you and tosses it toward the back of the couch, missing by at least a foot.
“Why thank you,” you tease, feigning some kind of Transatlantic lilt to your voice that makes him really laugh. “Such a gentleman.”
Taehyung turns to face you again, and then you feel his large hand pressing to the small of your back, warm even through the fabric of your shirt, and your heart stutters a little. You take his other hand in yours and let him lead, let him pull you all the way in until you can turn your head and press your cheek to the firm plane of his chest.
Frank Sinatra croons on about how you can’t let life get you down, and suddenly there’s a weight settling in the pit of your stomach.
“I feel bad, Taehyung,” you admit, and when you glance up at him, he’s looking right back down at you. “That you’re here with me tonight.”
“Why?” he asks, like he really doesn’t know.
“Because,” you shake your head. “I don’t know. There’s a million better places you could be. I can’t even give you birthday sex.”
“I wouldn’t have stayed if I didn’t want to,” he answers simply, then leans back, guiding you under his arm for a spin.
A little giggle bubbles up in your chest, catches on the first syllable of your reply as you twirl. “A-are you sure?”
Taehyung nods, thoughtful, when you come back to center again. “This is a good reminder that… I like taking care of people. It’s been a while since anyone’s let me.” The hand holding yours gives a gentle squeeze, and you can’t help but squeeze back.
“Well, thank you for taking care of me,” you answer softly. “You did a good job. Pretty sure I’m on the mend already.” You blink up at him through your lashes, and the way his eyes are fixed on you makes your heart squeeze, too.
It’s nearly overwhelming, taking him in like this, close enough that you can see every stray beauty mark kissed over his handsome features. Fluffy-haired, big-dicked Kim Taehyung— who would’ve thought?
Taehyung’s adam’s apple jerks in his throat as he swallows, and you feel a sudden rush of heat all over, one you don’t quite think you can blame on a fever. It hardly even occurs to you that the two of you have come to a complete standstill now, barefoot in the middle of your kitchen, Taehyung’s palm pressed to your back, the fingers of your joined hands now shifting to lace together.
“Taehyung,” you’re breathing his name before you even realize it. “Would you… want to stay here tonight? Like, sleep together, literally?”
The smile that flashes over his face is nothing short of brilliant. “Yeah, okay.”
Your voice dips a little lower, teasing, as you smile back. “I really do think I’m feeling better, so. Maybe in the morning I can take care of you, too.”
Taehyung’s fingers brush the length of your jaw, then reach up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear as you continue.
“I’ve got this spray that makes my throat totally numb, so.”
He pauses, his mouth so close to yours that you can feel his breath ghosting over your skin, but he can’t quite keep a straight face. “Fuck, why is that so sexy?”
You’re laughing against his lips when he kisses you.

HIHIHI CONGRATS ON 400!!!!! CAN I REQ LLOYD GARMADON WITH ONE KISS BY DUA LIPA???? (THANKS AND CONGRATS AGAINNN)
Thank you!! :D Hope you enjoy hehe ^^
Word count: 1.1k
Ninjago - One Kiss (Lloyd) (400 follower event)
The air was positively electric. With music and movement buzzing around you, it was easy to lose yourself in the energy of the party.
If there was one night you had to be out, it was tonight. There wasn’t anything special about it—nothing personal, anyway. You didn’t even know the guy throwing the party, though the hope of the mission was to get acquainted with him. He was a villain of sorts—someone you needed to put in their place, at least. And that was why you were here, feeling at once alien and perfectly in place among the swaying hips and waving arms.
The one person here you did know, dressed sharply in a satiny green button-up and black slacks, stood beside you with a serious look on his face. He clearly wasn’t feeling the high energy of the party. Or he was doing a good job of hiding it.
“I don’t see him,” he hollered over the music. “Do you think there’s a VIP lounge or something?”
You shook your head. “This is a mansion, not a club, Lloyd.”
Lloyd pursed his lips, flinching as a beam of pink light swept across his face. You glanced up at the massive disco ball hovering above you, suppressing a giggle.
“Let’s just keep looking. I just know he’s here,” Lloyd insisted, inconspicuously scanning the faces around you for the umpteenth time.
You nodded, turning away from Lloyd. You really did try to keep focused, but the music was just so loud, and you could literally feel the bass in your bones. Your foot started tapping without your consent, but you didn’t bother to stop it.
Watching everyone else dance, you clenched your fists, physically fighting the urge to dance along. You had to keep reminding yourself that you were here on a mission, not to have fun.
But when you glanced over at Lloyd, his head was bobbing ever so subtly to the beat of the music. You nudged him, intending to remind him to stay focused, but when your eyes connected you knew that neither of you would be doing anything of the sort.
A mischievous smile came to your lips as your eyes flicked to the DJ across the room, a subtle signal that Lloyd picked up on easily.
“Maybe just one dance. This song is pretty good,” he grinned sheepishly.
You nodded. “Yeah. Maybe we’ll run into our guy while we dance,” you mused, already starting to move to the music.
This was the kind of party that you didn’t have to worry about people watching you. Everyone was doing their own thing, paying attention only to themselves; or, if they were lucky, their charming partner.
You certainly couldn’t deny that your partner was charming. You’d never really thought of him like that before, not on all the missions you’d been on together, but suddenly those golden locks shimmering in the strobing lights were enchanting, and those green eyes were like twinkling emeralds. His lean limbs moved smoothly under his clothes as he forgot all inhibition; the effect of the party at its finest.
Lloyd was looking at you with the same strange, new admiration. He was hypnotized by the way you were moving, and suddenly all of your features were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. He was asking himself why, after all this time, he was only noticing how attractive you were just now.
Your hands found their way onto his shoulders, and Lloyd followed suit by putting a hand on your waist. You grinned at each other, sharing a mutual understanding that you were both having a blast, and you were going to continue doing just that.
One song after the other played, but you hardly noticed the time passing. All you were aware of was the music, to which you adjusted your movement to naturally, and the gorgeous eyes of your dancing partner.
Among the many things happening without your volition was the gradual approach of Lloyd. Before you knew it your arms were actually wrapped around his neck, and you were moving in tandem, feeling each other’s labored breathing on your blazing skin.
The music started to slow. At first you felt your heightened mood falling with a sense of dread, but realizing that you were quite out of breath, you accepted the incoming break.
Maybe you were just trying to keep the electricity flowing, maybe you were lost in the enchantment of the evening, maybe it was just a stupid impulse—in any case, the thought was scarcely in your mind before you acted on it.
Your lips pressed against Lloyd’s in a moment of passion. He didn’t pull away, and neither did you, for several seconds. Then, when you did part, you stared at each other not with shock, but that same understanding that you were both having the time of your lives.
You felt your cheeks turning red, and you saw Lloyd’s cheeks darkening too. The music finally slowed to a stop, and the DJ started talking instead of putting a new song on.
Neither of you were listening to him. You were finally becoming aware of yourselves once again, looking each other up and down and marveling at the proximity that seemed to have come from nowhere. It was like waking up in an unfamiliar place, with an unfamiliar hand holding your own.
“Was that…” Lloyd started, blinking at you rapidly. He made no effort to remove his hands from your waist.
“I, uh…”
“I didn’t mind that,” Lloyd said at last.
“Which part?” You laughed.
“What do you mean?”
“The dancing, the music…” you paused, trying to decide if you dared to go on, but the words came out anyway: “the kiss?”
Lloyd looked to the side thoughtfully. “All of it?”
You laughed, feeling your pink cheeks turn pinker. “Yeah… I didn’t mind it either.”
You smiled at each other dumbly for probably a few moments too long. Whatever you’d been doing before seemed so unimportant now, with your partner’s hands and eyes on you and you alone.
But suddenly the DJ shouted: “I wanna hear you scream! Guys and gals and all my other pals, I give you, your generous host!”
And the crowd roared so loudly that the spell was broken, and your heads automatically turned with everyone else’s.
You unlocked your arms from around each other to fully face the man hopping up to the stage, and the last of the magic sizzled out.
“Back to business, I guess,” you murmured, disappointment embarrassingly evident in your voice.
But Lloyd gripped your hand, causing you to turn to him with huge eyes.
“For now,” he said with a little wink. That wink told you he was thinking the same thing you were: That kiss changed everything.
And then, still holding your hand, he shoved his way through the crowd while you blushed like a chili.

Drive In - Yeosang
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Y/N if you do not remove your hand this instant.”
•pairing: yeosang x reader
•word count: 923 (short but golden)
•tags: mdni, suggestive, makeout session in a car, drive in movie theater date, written in first person, agoraphilia, princess + prince nicknames
Summary: Reader goes on a date with Yeosang to a drive in movie theater and gets bored of the movie which leads to a suggestive makeout session in the car.
A/N: This was actually my very first Ateez x Reader fic idea that I've ever had. I remember writing this during my lunch break in college. Please let me know what you think! Happy reading!
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆───
Yeosang had some time off before him and the rest of the guys had to prepare hard for the next comeback, so he decided to take me to the drive-in movie theater. There was a movie playing that I have been wanting to see for a while, and he thought there was no better way to hang out with me and get to do something I enjoy. So we both got in the car, and made our way to the drive in.
Once we got there, we pulled into the perfect spot, near the back of the parking lot and perfectly centered with the screen. Yeosang and I got comfortable in our seats and waited for the movie to start, while enjoying each other's company of course~.
About halfway through the movie, I started to get extremely bored; the movie was just not what I thought it was going to be, so I reached my hand over and put it on Yeosang's thigh. He looked over at me with a soft smile. I smiled back as to distract him from the plan that I was plotting in my head. Slowly, my hand started to go further up his leg till I reached his crotch. I gave it a gentle squeeze and when I looked over at him, he was extremely blushing.
"Y/N if you do not remove your hand this instant." Yeosang said with a slight growl.
"Oh~? What're you going to do about it?" I playfully hummed. Next thing I know, Yeosang harshly applied his lips to mine. I was taken aback by his sudden action, but I certainly was not complaining. As the kiss deepened; Yeosang started to try to push his tongue into my mouth and I let him. He carefully brought a hand up to my hair and gently closed his fist around the strands which led a soft groan to come from my throat. Yeosang pulled away slightly, our lips barely touching, and let out a slight chuckle after hearing my reaction to his touch. I took this opportunity of our lips not being connected to slowly crawl over onto his lap. I looked at Yeosang and the usual twinkle in his eyes was not there. They were filled with lust and desire. I placed one hand softly around his neck and looked down slowly to take in the gorgeous view of my boyfriend below me, and the other back down to his crotch. I could feel his eyes peering into me as I did this, watching my every move. We both met each other's eyes again and resumed our make out session.  Yeosang brought his hand back up to my hair and grasped onto it a little more aggressively. While making out with him, I started to palm him through his jeans. I felt him pull away gently.
"Y-Y/N" Yeosang whimpered. I chuckled since he was suddenly getting so flustered. Yeosang took the hand out of my hair and wrapped both of his hands around my waist. I leaned into him and started to place soft kisses around his face and neck.
"I-is it really a good idea to be d-doing this where everyone can see us?" He panted while I continued to kiss around his face and neck. He slightly shifted in his seat, secretly craving for more.
"It's fine baby," I reassured him as I placed one hand on his cheek, "no one can see us anyway. It's dark and everyone else here is focused on that stupid movie."
Yeosang softly smiled at me and slowly slid his hands up from my waist to my chest, while continuing our kiss. My legs had become spread so far that our crotches were touching. I could feel his erection through his pants; he was very turned on by this.
"I know you feel it baby." He whispered seductively in my ear. I got chills and bit my lip. I started to rock back and forth to create friction between us. Yeosang softly groaned at the sudden feeling and tilted his head back.
We continued to have a rough make out session, our slight pants, pleads, and praises reverberating throughout the car. I gently turned Yeosang’s head towards the window to kiss along his jawline.
“Y-Y/N.” he said with slight panic. I stopped what I was doing to see what he was so concerned about. Turning my attention over to the window, I saw that people were starting to pull out of their parking spaces and head out of the drive-in. I quickly turned to look at the screen and sure enough, the credits were rolling and people were heading out. I looked back at Yeosang with blush all over my face. I was so embarrassed that we had been in our own world for too long. He noticed this emotion and took one of his hands and caressed my face.
"I love you so much princess." He looked at me with soft eyes.
"I love you too, my prince." I smiled back and gave him one last peck before climbing back over to my seat.
“Oh, and just so you know,” he paused for a moment and I directed my attention towards him. “We are continuing this at home.” There was a dark, raspy tone to his voice and I could tell he was frustrated that he couldn’t tear me apart right then and there, but I knew that pausing in the middle would just make him crave me more when we got home.

Jake Seresin was and always would be a morning person. He chased sunrises and enjoyed a six am workout as much as the next guy did. Something about the quiet of the morning in the hours between four and six soothed his restless soul. The world was just getting started by the time he’d shit, showered and shaved. But every now and again when his mind just wouldn’t rest—he found himself exhaling a tired groan whenever he rolled over to shut off his alarm. Not exactly sure how many hours or lack there of he’d gotten of sleep.
Jake couldn’t remember when he’d actually gone to bed. After reassuring Javy he was in fact fine, he kinda just lingered in his room. He did a quick core workout—did a few push-ups, had a shower that hid his tears. He wasn't fine, he was anything but. But he wasn't going to let anyone see that he wasn't a pillar of success, of confidence and charisma. He was Hangman in every aspect of the word.
Jake remembered sitting down on his mattress and staring at the photo he had tapped to his mirror, he;d ripped it off to place it on his bedside table. Thumbing the ring around his dog tags until he felt another bout of tears forming. Repressing them as deep as he could. But legitimately going to bed? If someone held a gun to his face right this second he’d be dead because he just couldn’t remember.
Unlocking the phone, Jake noticed that it was still open from a text thread from last night. Rubbing his eyes as he yearned and sat up, he vaguely remembered he’d text you about Rooster throwing your untimely demise at him like it was some sort of sick joke. It was just something he continued to do—he’d text you on and off. Tell you about his day, things that reminded him of you. He’d send you pictures and call just to hear your voicemail. The sound of your voice brought a comfort that was unparalleled to anything else.
“I know you and Bradshaw were close but fuck I could kill him right now.” The message was green, a red not delivered notification directly underneath told Jake his pleas were going nowhere. That you weren’t sitting in the dorm just down the hall that you used to occupy reading his message with a hard eye roll before shooting back a witty remark about how Jake probably deserved it in some respect. He could certainly dish it out nowadays but taking it was a whole other level. He could take anything anyone threw at him, Hangman could. But anything that involved you? Jake Seresin became a mess of a man, a version of his former self. A man heartbroken and sad and fucking destrort.
“I miss you so much.” Again the message hadn’t been delivered.
“It should have been me you know, fuck you for leaving me here.” He didn't mean that one, well–partially anyway. Jake meant the part about the fact it should have been him, that much was true. But he wasn't mad at you for what you did. He knew that you were just putting him before yourself.
“I don’t think I can do this without you.” Again, the message hadn’t been received. Jake started to notice only two months after your death that whatever text he sent you stopped being received. They’d bounce right back to him. Flicking the pad of his thumb against the screen of his phone—Jake sat in his king single bed and read the last message you sent to him. The same message he read every morning and every night. It was the only thing that kept him going throughout the day.
“Haha! Can’t wait to marry you Headache.”
Jake smiled at the thought of you. God he missed you. Letting his legs drape down the side of the bed he groaned as he stood. Stretching out from the horrendous few hours of sleep he’d managed.
It wasn’t meant to end this way. Jake was sure that one day he’d just wake up from whatever nightmare he’d fallen into and he’d still be in your arms in the bed you secretly shared for way longer than anyone ever knew about. Noone even knew that he was engaged, emphasis on the was. But every day that past he lost a little more hope that this was all just a dream. He respected the bravery or the general naivety that it took to be laid back and trust in the universe to look after you—but without you by his side he was just stumbling through each day that passed. Chasing pussy like he was playing in traffic just trying to shake the thought of you.
But even behind the fake facade of the sociopath he let people see, they all knew—Jake Seresin was a heartbroken man just trying to claw his way out of the hole he fell down when he was told you weren’t coming back to him.
Jake Seresin liked to pretend though that in all the time you’d been gone he was just waiting for you to get home. Come home to him like you had said, so he could marry you, love you, spend the rest of his life by your side like he was supposed to.
But as fate would have it that wouldn’t happen. Jake knew for a while there he wasted time when he should've been replacing your last name with his. That mistake was his, he knew it. He wore it like a sunburn that might disappear but it never left him. He’d carry you on his shoulder, never set you down—the tattoo of a set of Dice inked permanently into his sun kissed skin. He’d ferry you through the coldness, never let you down.
***~***~***~***~***~
“Alright Phoenix let’s take this guy out!” Jake gassed himself up as he steady his throttle. Pete Maverick Mitchell had just come racing between him and his wingwoman for this training session. Phoenix Trance. Sending them both into a frenzy as they steadied their aircrafts. “Break right!”
“Breaking right.” Phoenix had been there the day you died. She’d never be able to erase that memory from the rolodex buried deep in her mind. The image of your blood on Jake's hands still haunted her nightmares, the sound of his agonising scream that echoed through the halls of the hospital made her jolt awake in the middle of the night. She knew why Jake Seresin was the way he was, but knowing didn’t make it any easier to deal with. To tolerate. He’d always been a bit of a cocky jerk but he cared enough about the people around him to know when enough was enough. Without you around? There was no one to reel him in when he got too hot headed and sociopathic.
“Huh? Where’s he going?” Bob asked as he watched Hangman fly off left into the distance, leaving Phoenix out in the open.
“That’s why we call him hangman, he’ll always hang you out to dry.” She sighed.
“Leaving your wingman—there’s a strategy I haven’t seen in a while.” Pete raised a brow at the poor display of sportsmanship and camaraderie he was witnessing play out in front of him  like a car crash. A head on collision just waiting to happen. Maverick knew if Hangman didn’t come back that there’d be casualties. He could easily get a tone on Phoenix and Bob.
“He called you a man Phoenix, are you gonna take that?” Hangman chuckled to himself as he came back around, looking for an opening to swoop in behind Maverick as he chased down Phoenix.
“So long as he doesn’t call you a man.” Phoenix responded. “Talk to me Bob—where’s Maverick?”
“Jesus, his nose is already coming around.”
“Get him off me Hangman!” Phoenix hissed as she searched for her wingman, Jake froze behind the throttle at the sound of your voice coming through the radio. He knew it wasn’t you but it sounded so much like you that it had his body reacting with goosebumps. The hairs on the back of his neck stood to attention like a ghost had just passed by.
***~***~***~***~***~
(North Island — United States Navy Fighter Weapons School, October 16th 2014)
It was, without a doubt—the most accurate assumption you had ever made about anyone in your entire life. Jake had been driving you insane all morning—there was no attempt at teamwork, no camaraderie and certainly no effort to achieve the end result that were the task parameters. Dog fight tactical manoeuvres.
You’d never heard the tone buzzer more in your life. It was almost comical how badly you’d been performing, but with a wingman like Hangman who spent half his time chasing a pipe dream about going after the top dog—Captain Martin, you were left out in the open more often than not without backup, without cover—essentially a sitting fucking duck.
“Get him off me Hangman!” You hissed through the radio as you broke right and evaded back into a sharp left. Trying to shake off Rooster who’d been chasing you down for the better half of five minutes. “HANG—“
“I’m coming I’m coming, jeez—“ It was the most nonchalant thing you’d ever heard someone who was meant to literally be your ride or die say. Cutting you off before you even had a chance to scream at him for cover. “God you make it sound like you're a paralytic or something? Can’t you fend for yourself there Dixon—“
“Okay, you’re literally no help.” You mumbled as you split your throttle and shut off your left engine, pulling up and back before falling behind Rooster as he raced past. “I’ll just do it myself!”
“I said I’m coming!” You saw Jake coming up in your peripheral vision. “I was going after Captain Martin—“
“I don’t care what the hell you were doing, we’re meant to be flying as a team and I can’t do that on my own!” You were right on Roosters tail just about to line up your missile lock when you heard it ring out via your radio. Hangman had snaked your kill before cutting across in front of you. For a brief moment you got caught in his jet wash—rattling your Super Hornet side to side as it fought the sudden onset of turbulence. “Fucking Christ!”
“Dammit—“ Rooster sighed as he broke left and headed back to the runway for landing. “Don’t let him get to you Dixon, he’s like this with everyone.”
“You just left me in your fucking jet stream you dick!” You couldn’t believe this was your knee wingman. The second you came in for landing you’d be requesting another partner. There was no way this guy had been chosen to fly for TopGun. On whose authority and on what grounds? “I could’ve have lost control—“
“You didn’t though, did you?” You were seething, seeing red. You had to turn yourself around and request to land or else you were going to lose it.
“What the fuck is your problem Seresin!” You haven’t even shut off your engines properly before you were ripping your helmet off to scold Jake. “You’re gonna kill someone one day flying like that you maniac!” Jake remembered all too well the way you shouted at him after you'd come in for landing, barrelling up the taxiway at him with eyes that held nothing but anger, he even swore at one stage he saw steam coming out your ears. “That should have called your Hangover!”
“Oh really?” Jake was immediately intrigued as you shoved at his chest, Captain Martin instantly rushing to break the two of you apart. “Why’s that sweetheart?”
“Because you give me a goddamn headache!” Jake had never in his life had a woman speak to him the way you did. He was intrigued by you if at the very least. He’d tuned out what other berating
comments you were hurling his way as he took you in for all you were worth. The way your eyes kept lingering from his eyes to his lips. The way your nose scrunched when you called him a bastard. The way you must have bitten the very tip of your tongue when you were anxious before a flight because it looked like you’d gone to town recently. The way your hair was pushed out of the regulation bum from your helmet, hair now a mess that you’d surely have to fix after a midday shower. He was infatuated by every little detail. “You’re the biggest risk taker I’ve ever met and I hope to god you’re never the cause of someone’s death Seresin.”
“You wanna talk?” Jake scoffed out a laugh when he’d finished thinking about your wedding. “I've never seen someone risk so much for such little payoff!” Hangman squared his shoulders as you went toe to toe. “You roll the dice, you take chance after fucking chance and are–out of all of us, the one whos been caught on tone the most.” You were seething, so much so you could taste the iron on your tongue from where your teeth had sunk into the flesh. “What were you even thinking up there? Half the time I couldn’t tell if you knew which way was up or down or goddamn sideways!” Jake went on to hammer into you. “You think I was the one putting you in danger? You were the one flying all over the place like a fucking mad woman!”
“I dunno Hangman! Maybe if my wingman had his eyes on me I wouldn’t have had to have been all over the shop! If this had been real I’d be fucking dead by now and you know it!” You shoved at his chest again and this time he stumbled back slightly, chuckling with a shit eating chin plastered across his perfect stupid face.
“Still doesn’t explain the radical manoeuvring—“ He egged you on, wanting you to yell at him some more because it was so fucking cute.
“Oh well I fucking guess I live by the saying if you put your wingman in a little bit of danger, make him question the safety of his team! you might get a peak at who he really is.” You pressed your lips together into a fine line as you looked Jake up and down. “Turns out you're an open book, coward.”
“Alright alright that’s enough you too—Dixon, I think you just earned yourself your callsign, Dice.” Captain Martin had to step in to separate the pair of you. “Dice Dixon—huh, it’s got a nice little ring to it don’t you think?” He beamed your way as you raised your brows in shock horror. You’d waited so long to be given a call sign, and as it turns out Jake fucking Seresin would be the mastermind behind it.
“Sir, all due respect I—“ You were  going to protest the name, explain that you weren’t always like this. Not always such a risk taker—but you were cut off before you had a chance to defend yourself.
“You want me to come up with something else, Dixon?” Jake just stood behind Captain Martin smug as all hell. “Because I can, and I can guarantee Dice is very tame in comparison.”
“No sir—“ You shook your head in response as Hangman chuckled to himself. Looking at you like you were the love of his life. “Dice is just peachy.”
“Sensation Dixon, welcome to the club.” Caption Dixon tapped you on the shoulder. “And as for a set of characters, learn how to tolerate one enough to at least pretend to work as a team while you’re here or else.” He warned, voice stern as he turned and left you and Jake standing on the tarmac. Whoever broke the silence first was buying the first round and you both knew that.
“I can’t believe you just did that—“ Jake grinned as he followed you back towards the hanger. Completely under whatever spell you’d put him under. For whatever reason, Jake had been sporting a pretty intense boner since you came barreling at him down the taxiway. He could tell you were a hot head, easily riled and incredibly defensive. “I’ve waited years for a call sign and you just swooped in and threw the first thing that came to your pea brain at me!” It was so infuriating that he’d made it so damn easy, but all the while you were frustrated Jake ‘Headache’ Seresin had so effortlessly crafted your callsign, you couldn’t help the way your heart fluttered inside your chest at his laugh, his cheeky grin—and those goddamn green eyes.
“And yet?” Jake smirked as he trailed behind you, so close in fact that when you turned around to confront him you smacked right into his chest. Letting out a small ‘Oof’ as you collided with his stature, tall and firm. You couldn’t go there, you wouldn’t. Something about professional decency and how the Navy was against relationships and fraternisation. But against everything that had been drilled into you since day one of the Academy, you couldn’t help but to melt against Jake's gentle touch, the way his hand caressed your forearm and shoulder, steadying you against him. “And yet, Dice Dixon?” Jake questioned again as you stood with him in the empty hall. So close you could feel his breath fanning across your chin as you met his gaze, leaning in the close the gap in a heated moment of weakness.
“It suits.” You whispered under your breath, ghosting Jake's lips before turning on your heels. Making a quick exit as you called back to him over your shoulder. “Hard Deck, six o’clock, don’t give me a reason to regret this.”
“Holy fuck I’m gonna marry this girl—“ Jake mumbled to himself as Rooster stepped up beside him, having seen the entire confrontation play out before his very eyes.
“She’s not your type Hangman, take a walk.” Bradley watched as you disappeared from sight and even then Jake's gaze lingered on the last place he saw you. A look in his eyes Bradley had never seen. A glint so bright, puppy love. “She’ll break your heart man, don’t even go there.”
“Already Broken.” Jake just replied. He’d been burnt a time or two before in the past enough to think his heart was already broken and worn enough that nothing could ever break it again. “You can’t break something that’s already broken Rooster—“
***~***~***~***~***~***~
After the eventful run with Rooster, Jake couldn’t wait for a hot steamy shower to sooth his aching muscles and wash away the events of today. He’d flown far too many times to count on one hand and still—the son of a bitch had never been caught on tone. Maverick was good, Jake would give him credit where credit was due.
Dropping down to the bench that sat in the middle of the locker room, Jake bent down to untie his boots, so caught up in his own head that he hadn’t realised he was in fact the only soul in the lock room. A bizarre and rather uncommon occurrence considering everyone was finished for the day—he must have just been the first one back.
Being the only one around meant it was quiet. Too quiet, quiet enough to be able to hear the soft but memorable laugh coming from over near the door.
“Hello?” Jake called out to be met with no response, frowning—he stopped what he was doing when he heard the laugh again. “Trance, are you laughing at your sorry display of—“ Rounding the corner, Jake saw no one standing there. But again the laugh echoed off the walls and he jumped. Searching as he turned to see who was around him. “Who the fucks there?”
“Are you going crazy there, Hangman?” Fanboy asked as he stood in the doorway of the Locker room. “You know they say the first sign of madness is hearing things that aren’t there.” He chuckled to himself as he headed to his locker. The one beside your old one. No one had been assigned your old locker—it sat empty and unlocked. Abandoned because the admin ladies were too hesitant to assign it a new owner. Not because of your death so much—mainly because the door was busted and didn’t lock. Jake couldn’t help but to wonder if it was because of that one time you’d jammed your hand in the door so hard it left an indent in the flimsy metal.
“Thought I heard someone laughing.” Jake replied softly as he walked over to where Mickey stood fishing out his jeans.
“Well, Halloweens coming up, the veils between our world and the next are as thin as ever—you very well might have.” Fanboy said it as if it wasn’t the craziest thing he’d ever mouthed off. “You got someone important on the other side, Hangman?” Mickey asked as he grabbed a towel.
“Guess you could say that.” Jake barely responded above a whisper as he opened your old locker to be met with nothing but a few spiderwebs. The admin ladies really hadn’t assigned it to anyone since two thousand and fourteen. “I don’t really believe in all that stuff.” Reaching in, Jake picked up what he believed had been a blank Polaroid Card. Dusting it off to reveal the fainted writing written in pencil.
‘Headache & Dice 2014.’
“Ah, I get it.” Fanboy called out from inside the shower he’d chosen. “Still, if you’ve got someone, now's gonna be the time where they’re most active. It’s why the Celtics would wear costumes to blend in with the dead.” Mickey explained. “But they’d leave places at dinner tables and treats on doorsteps for family and loved ones that had crossed over. They’d even light candles to help them find their way back.” Jake wasn’t listening—he was too busy staring at the Polaroid in his hand. You and him at the Hard Deck. You were holding your lips to his cheek as Jake held the camera up high. It couldn’t have been long at all after you had met judging by the date
Smiling softly, Jake pocketed the Polaroid, hearing that same laugh again as he shut your old locker door. It didn’t close properly—stupid thing.
“You sound crazy Garcia.” Jake taunted as he went back to taking his boots off on the bench. “There’s no such thing as ghosts.”
“No—probably not.” Fanboy agreed as the shower turned on. “But moments passed do and that’s what resonates after someone passes on.”

here's my very all over the place feelings on certain aspects of baldur's gate 3 as a romani immigrant. warnings for spoilers of course. mind you i have not finished the game yet!
1. i really can't believe there aren't more people talking about the very blatant racism in astarion's questline. im quite sure it's because the game already touches on it, even giving you the choice to call astarion a racist, and also because everytime we roma talk about anything that makes us uncomfortable we're immediately shunned and "well actually!"'d.
the problem is that it feels Extra icky because the man who was the inspiration for the original dracula, Vlad the Impaler, kept romani slaves. this is the ONLY part of vampire history that, no matter how different the media, will always stay relevant for some reason.
castlevania has the seekers, a nomadic group of magic users who pass their history down orally. while they are *mostly* treated well, the first arc of the show literally shows them being hunted out of town for the simple act of existing.
vampire the masquerade... well.. that's an entire other can of racism worms.
curse of strahd has the "vistani", a nomadic group of people who are treated like third class citizens everywhere they go, and are of course, most known for being tarot readers and drunkards.
the vampire diaries have the "travellers", who get called "gypsies" explicitly as a derogatory word by other vampires.
i want you to take any vampire media you enjoy and ask yourself, "is there anti-roma racism in this?". i guarantee you, if you look for it, you're going to find it. for SOME reason, the only thing that stays consistent with all these different vampire IPs, is that romani people are hated and scrutinized at every moment of their lives.
i MORE than understand that astarion's racial insensitivity is part of him. it's part of what makes him malleable by the player. you can help him understand why he's wrong, or you can lead him down a worse path.
i still reserve the right to feel some sort of way about astarion sacrificing fantasy-romani children for power, willingly. don't get me wrong, he's my favourite character, right up there with halsin. which is why i obviously have so many feelings about this.
(yes, the Gur were written inspired by romani people, if you were not aware)
2. the anti-immigrant sentiment is such an inherent part of the story that i did not think was going to stick around for SO long. i dont really have much to say about this, i think i should've expected it. as a fan of dragon age (i know, tragic) i'm quite used to unnecessary fantasy racism everywhere i go, i just hoped it wouldn't be part of the main crucial story.
3. larian studios i am so so so thankful for the halsin romance. eternally. forever and ever. he's my pookie bear and i'm so grateful some extra time was made to create a romance for him.
can i ask you why the hell does halsin want to LEAVE. At The End. i've noticed how much he contradicts himself throughout his questline and i just... I don't know. i've seen some other people complaining about how non-chalantly he talks about being a sex slave and i understand too, but i think it's part of his character to not take the horrible things that happened to him seriously like he does with others. that, or someone at larian took an unknown substance that led them to make halsin Very inconsistent.
with the poly situation, some people are strictly polyamorous! some people are strictly non-monogamous and do not feel comfortable being in a monogamous relationship. i understand the frustration everyone, but that's how halsin is. i dont know if that was the writers' intention, but that's certainly what he comes across as to me; strictly non-monogamous.
what i DONT understand is why he says he only wants you, calls you "my heart", is so fondly and lovingly attached to you, and then he just.... Dips? Whatever. I'm ignoring that part forever. it's not canon to ME!
anyways. yeah. feel free to Engage in some Friendly conversation. emphasis on friendly, for the love of g-d

The Angel of Music - Part One
Ricky Olson x Female Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
N/A : So this is one is (probably) going to be a very long fanfic that I will do in several parts. I got this idea on my mind one day, I felt very inspired about it, and thought it would fit into Ricky's vibe somehow (jhfkjdfdh). I'm very excited to share this one. I had much more fun and felt more comfortable by writting in this format, so I'm certainly going to keep it :D
Warnings : Some fluff and angst. Romantic tension (idk how to call it)
Next PART TWO | PART THREE
─━────༺༻────━─━━─━────༺༻────━─━━─━────༺༻────━
It was the end of September. Autumn leaves falling from the trees in your city, with the air getting colder and rainy. Because of the cool breeze, you tried to cover up your nose and neck with your scarf. Walking in this weather didn’t bother you though, since you liked it. But you didn’t want to get sick. Your voice and throat were very important for your job as an opera singer.
And today was another day of rehearsal at the opera. So you woke up early this morning to enjoy the drizzle. You weren’t freaked out walking there alone. You liked that spooky atmosphere. Usually you didn’t go to the opera this early. You preferred going there when the evening came and going back to your home when it was pitch black.
Your coworkers were worried about you when you did that. So they convinced you to come earlier in the morning, so you could go back to your flat, safely. Even though they did ask you if you wanted them to accompany you or drive you back home, you always declined, enjoying being alone.
You didn’t want them to tag along because your introverted and anxious ass was too scared to ask them or even bother them with your problems. Plus you didn’t even know if you could trust them. So you made up an excuse : being alone was easier for you to be aware of your surroundings. It made you look paranoid sometimes but you were always cautious, giving a dead look to the people glancing at you.
And so your coworkers started to call you the “Lone Wolf”. You didn’t care about the nickname, if they were mocking you by saying it, you were more appreciating it. It made you look cool and mysterious.
You finally managed to arrive at the opera, easily and safely. When you saw the security guard waving at you to welcome you, you nodded your head as a salutation.
“Good morning, miss” He said to you politely.
“Good morning Alfred” You replied “ Are the others here ?”
“Hmm.. It seems you are the first of your singer co-workers who have arrived. But you’re the second to be early at the opera this time”.
“Oh ? A rival ? That’s interesting. Who is it ?”
“A musician from a metal band called Motionless in White. He asked me if he could train himself at the opera today. I said it was open for few hours before your group arrived, miss”
Motionless in White ?! Your heart skipped a beat. You’ve heard this band’s name before. It was one of your favorites you listened to during your youth. You were such a hard fan of their music.
Thank you for letting me know, Alfred. Well, I better go and start to warm up my voice. Have a nice day”
He replied to you very respectfully, letting you enter the opera. Alfred wasn’t the real security guard’s name. It was actually you who gave this nickname to him, since you were always struggling at remembering names. And the first time you saw the security guard, so respectful and polite, it reminded you of the butler in Batman’s comic books. You couldn’t help yourself but letting out your thoughts at that moment. Surprisingly, he took this nickname very well and didn’t get upset about it. He was even playing along with you. Since that day you kept calling him Alfred.
He was the rarest human being you tolerated in this job. To you, your coworkers were too much and were making you uncomfortable, with their hypocritical behavior, by asking questions about you, pretending they cared. They always ended up socializing between them, anyway. So you tried to avoid them as much as possible, barely talking to them.
You were so lost in your thoughts, you didn’t realize you were already in front of your dressing room. You unlocked the door with your keys, but before entering, you noticed, in the corner of your eyes, something shiny on the floor. You crouched, looking closer. It was a black metallic key attached to a string. A necklace ? Someone probably lost it. You picked up the key, keeping it in your jeans pocket until you find their owner. And, in case you couldn’t find the owner, you could give it to the lost items office, which was also Alfred’s responsability.
Once you changed your casual outfit to your scene one, a white shirt with black pants, you locked up your dressing room and headed to the main stage, with your music sheet in one hand. As you got closer to the main stage door, you heard a melody. A guitar sound.
And then, a voice. A beautiful voice. Almost divine. Someone was singing. You felt shivers running through your spine. It was so magnificent to your ears. But also it was very melancholic. As you were getting few ideas about who this musician was, you finally decided to pull the door knob, getting in.
The stage was illuminated by the chandelier, just above. Though it wasn’t the only thing that was enlightening the room. As you went down the stairs, you saw a silhouette of a man, short dark haired, sitting on a chair, playing his guitar with an intense focus. He was wearing a lot of black clothes, a sleeveless jacket that was revealing his arms covered with tattoos. You noticed he had few of them on his neck as well. As you got closer, you realized who this musician was.
Short dark hair, pale skin, blue grayed eyes… It was Ricky Olson for sure. You’ve listened to the band's music for a long time and loved a huge majority of their songs. You loved the lead singer's voice, but the one who interested you more was Ricky. Each time you could hear his voice, in a Motionless song, you were excited. His voice was enchanting. You couldn’t stop listening to it. Plus his personality was so adorable you were melting every time you watched his numerous tour vlogs. Yeah you were an absolute Ricky’s fangirl.
Seeing him alone, in front of you, at the opera of your hometown, was making you crazy. The more you were getting closer to him, mesmerized by his voice and play, the more you could feel a heat wave overwhelming your body. Your heart was beating so fast in your chest, you thought you were having a heart attack. At this rate, you were convinced that even Ricky could hear your heart pounding so much.
As he heard your thoughts, he lifted up his head, looking in your direction while he stopped playing. The sudden silence in the room made you feel a pressure on your shoulders, like you were caught up on something. You felt the urgent need to explain yourself.
“Erm… Hello.. Sorry for interrupting you. I didn’t mean to. I’m actually an opera singer who practices here.” You muttered so awkwardly, choking on your words.
Ricky stared at you with his icy eyes, perhaps gauging you, as he let you talk. But, oh my God, even like this, you knew you could die happily. His gaze on you was so deep. It made your cheeks blush.
“An opera singer, huh ? I see.” He said abruptly, surprising you a bit.
Gosh, even his talking voice was so soothing and divine. His quiet tone didn’t help to calm down, though. It was the opposite.
“Don’t worry about interrupting me” He kept saying “I am the one who came here, in the first place. Pretty unusual for a metalhead, right ?” He chuckled softly.
You were about to pass out on every word this man was saying to you. It was very bad. You loved hearing him laugh quietly, already.
“It’s fine… The security guard told me about it. You can stay if you need to… So, hum.. you are ?”
“I’m Ricky Olson, from Motionless in White. You can call me Ricky”
“I’m Y/N” You said, your voice shivering. “Enchanted to meet you. I’m a fan of your band.”
He arched a brow, a bit stunned, but he kept his sweet smile to you.
“Well, thank you ! That’s very flattering coming from an opera singer. I wasn’t expecting that at all. What a pleasant surprise.”
A pleasant surprise, he said. He gave you an indirect compliment but still… It made you smile. He said you were pleasant… You threw away this random thought coming in your mind. Come on, it wasn’t the time to make weird scenarios.
“I've been a big fan of metal and metalcore music since my childhood. So that’s not new, for me. I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover” You tried to joke nervously.
Ricky giggled as an approval. Oh God, you loved hearing his sweet and quiet laugh. It was so cute.
“Plus, metal and opera singing have more in common to what we might think. And I want to combine these two different styles, if I get the chance to perform on my own.” You added, feeling more brave to talk, all of the sudden.
“Oh really ? Well, I can’t wait to see you perform one day.” He said, with a shy smile, and then looked at your sheet. “What were you rehearsing on ?”
You almost forgot your music sheet you were holding in your hand, too absorbed and excited by the conversation.
“Oh ! Erm… It’s a musical about the Phantom of the Opera.”
“I’ve heard about it” He said, his curiosity peaked. “I watched a movie about the musical. Very impressive. Who are you playing ?”
“The main protagonist girl, Christine.” You replied timidly. “ And I need to practice the part where she follows the Phantom in his cave, below the stage.”
“Can I see it ?” He asked so politely you felt your heart melt.
You lend him the paper, not daring to look directly at him or even touching his hand by accident, even if you wanted to. You didn’t want to make things awkward for him. He didn’t seem to notice your embarrassment as he was reading the script. Just a minute after, he lended you back your sheet, a serious or a poker-face look on his face.
“If you need a partner, I can be the Phantom for your rehearsal. I have memorized his lines. They aren't that long. It’s to make it up to you for disturbing your workplace.” He said as he owed you something.
You felt your jaw drop. You didn’t even believe what you just heard. Ricky... offering his help to play the Phantom for you ?! He didn’t need to apologize or even to feel like he owed you. The opera was open to the musicians after all. You were too happy about his request. Even if it was for a few minutes long, you thought you were gonna pass out for the second time. Also you were very amazed by his photographic memory to remember lines in such a short time.
“Well, you don’t owe me anything. Don’t worry about it. But, if you don’t mind, it would be an honor for me to rehearse with you” You cleared your throat.
You saw him smile, again, looking down on his shoes awkwardly. Then, he removed his guitar and chair away, trying to get some space. It was so thoughtful and adorable of him. Did his cheeks get pink colored just now..?
You turned your back on him, slapping your cheeks to get your focusing back. You did a few voice warm ups, before getting into your character. The kind, innocent and beautiful Christine. Your complete opposite.
You didn’t even remember how your coworkers and manager agreed to give you such an important role. They were always saying your voice was fitting her. You weren’t sure if they were mocking you or not about it. Either way, you didn’t like that role. It was putting you out of your comfort zone, making you more vulnerable than you already were.
But strangely,  in front of Ricky, you didn’t mind being vulnerable. You barely met him, for real, only for ten minutes, and yet it felt like you knew each other for ages. His presence was making you feel more at ease. Almost reassuring.
Once you were ready, you shifted to face him, waving your arms with grace as you were dancing.
“In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came. That voice which calls me, and speaks my name.”
You spined on your feet, slowly getting closer to him while keeping singing.
“And do I dream again. For now, I found The Phantom of the Opera is there… Inside my mind.”
You paused, remembering the piano notes playing while you danced quietly. Then it was Ricky’s turn. He took a step forward to you and reached a hand in your direction, like a gentleman. You could tell something has changed in his temper. As if his aura was getting more mysterious and sinister.
“Sing once again with me, our strange duet. My power over you grows stronger yet. And though you turn from me, in glance behind. The Phantom of the Opera is there… Inside your mind.”
Oh God, you were having goosebumps when you heard him sing so low, and yet, so divine. He was so elegant by singing these lines. He was charming and elegant all the time, but this… This was different. Both of you were getting closer to each other, each time you were singing. Your turn came again.
“Those who have seen your face, draw back in fear. I am the mask you wear...”
“It’s me they hear.”
Then the part where both of you were singing along came too.
“Your spirit and your voice, in one combined. The Phantom of the Opera is there…”
“...Inside my mind…”
“...Inside your mind.”
Ricky was getting closer to your face, gently putting a hand on your back as if you were dancing together. You didn’t push him away. You were too much focused on your role and on his. He glanced at you with his blue iced eyes which was making you melt even more inside.
“In all your fantasies, you always knew. That man and mystery…”
“... were both in you.” You finished.
This time felt like the two of you were talking directly to each other and not as your characters. At least, that’s how you felt. Both of you kept singing together, your voices harmonizing. You remembered the next coming verse was the one you were the most struggling with, while Ricky was making you spin gently on your heels.
“Sing for me, my Angel of Music.” He said.
“He’s there… The Phantom of the Opera.”
“Sing for me.”
As he said, you began to vocalize gradually, getting higher and higher.
“Sing, my Angel of Music.” Ricky ordered.
You obeyed, getting even more higher.
“Sing for me.” He repeated more deeply.
You did as he said, feeling your voice getting so high pitched, like an angel would’ve sounded. It was so graceful, you even surprised yourself by doing it. You didn’t think it was possible for you. Yet, you felt you were soon getting out of breath and tried to hold on for the last part.
“Sing for me !” He said louder.
And so you gave every breath you had left in your lungs. Pushing your voice to its limits. As you were screaming. Screaming for the Phantom in front of you.
You managed to hold ten seconds of the scream before stopping. Ricky looked at you with widened eyes, impressed and captivated by your performance. You were catching your breath as you saw his mouth moving, talking to you. But you didn’t hear what he said as he was interrupted by loud applause coming from the stands, which surprised you both.
“Bravo ! Bravo ! Absolutely stunning !”
You recognized the voice. It was your manager’s, ruining this beautiful moment you had with Ricky. You knew this wasn’t a good sign for you. You just hoped that eccentric man wasn’t going to drag Ricky too, in to whatever mess he was planning…

Human vs Angel.
It was a battle that relentlessly raged on with an alarming ferocity in his mind. The damage at this point was catastrophic, no clear winner, only bloodshed and more to come on the horizon.
Human or Angel? Who was he?
It’s not like Jimin or any P2 angel could remember what their experience was like as a human, yet they still weren’t seen as entirely angels either.
That’s because they weren’t.
They still had wants, desires, cravings, needs, and they even maintained the vessel that once contained their souls. Their souls were long gone, now replaced with the angelic light that gave them the power to fight against sin, but that still wasn’t enough. Something that forever confused Jimin was why they still bleed— all higher up angels didn’t bleed, why did they need to? It was messy, unnecessary, red, too human for exalted beings like them.
From the very moment they opened their eyes there was this immediate barrier preventing them from being like the other higher up angels. They sometimes certainly didn’t see them as such— they were impure, sinful, depraved, degenerative creatures who would be better off joining the cycle then working with them.
It was a bit of a shock at first hearing this when their team was first allowed to wander through the winding halls of H.E.A.V.E.N. Celine and Atara had tried to warn them of the higher up angels, yet during their lessons it was hard not to admire them.
Their capabilities were beyond anything they could ever do and they had every right to have the very air they flew through worshiped. Maybe that was why Jimin and the rest of his team were a little too optimistic when Celine and Atara gave them the tour and some would pass by.
They heard the comments— Taehyung had even tried to go up to one in his excitement and was immediately met with the repercussions he deserved.
This first encounter was all it took for their team to want to put as much distance as they could from their human past— a past they couldn’t remember, but resented because they truly took the higher ups' words to heart.
And that proved to be successful.
Their numbers topped many of the leaderboards, the less human they were the better they did— the more they truly helped the goal of maintaining the balance of the universe.
However no matter how well they did they would never be truly an angel. To be so pure and in control to the point where weapons weren’t necessary, a single glance at a sinful creature was enough to vanquish the being from existence.
Namjoon was rare in the sense he was one of the few P2 angels that had gotten the chance to experience something similar. However he still needed the bandages wrapped tightly around his hands to prevent him accidentally blasting a hole through spacetime, doing far more damage than just demon blood on his hands.
He was respected a little more than the rest, but there was always this wall that even he could never cross.
Not entirely human yet they certainly weren’t people. No one could remember what it was like to have a soul anymore.
They were too “human” to be an angel but too powerful and glacial to have that same passion that humans live with.
It was confusing and while Jimin never truly felt like a real angel the gap felt even wider when he was around you. The reason was simple, Jimin would never be able to feel as much as a human could. He was and forever would be detached from the human experience.
That much was just a fact.
He would be called emotionless in comparison, a husk of the vibrant soul that once inhabited this vessel, built solely for the purpose of vanquishing sin from this world. All emotions besides the blissful sensation of purifying his enemies was practically reduced to nothing.
That was how it was supposed to be at least.
With each day you’ve been in his life, it was like a distant memory was returning to him. Never clear enough to fully remember, but the warmth that bathed him whenever he was in your presence was oddly familiar. You’ve given him the opportunity to feel more than he thought he was capable of anymore.
It was a little confusing to navigate through, but you were there to ground him and despite his growing concerns at least he was here with you.
With you this beautiful orchestra of emotions would sing anytime he’d just gaze upon your beauty. You were honestly beyond words, your enchanting presence was enough to rival the angels he worked with. It was mind boggling that you were human.
But as much as Jimin just wanted to ignore the obvious, that more sensible half made sure he never forgot.
He couldn’t even if he wanted to, but that created this strange fire that burned brighter, hotter, and more violent with each and every one of your meetings.
The emotion that seemed to dominate his mind anytime he was with you these days was this searing, unexplainable antipathy— or better put— the closest thing he could experience to it.
Jimin hated you with every fiber of his being and you were completely unaware.
It was obvious as the weeks passed by he needed to talk to you. He honestly had no right to hate you, the issues being completely unestablished to you and there was no way you could have known, but that didn’t matter. Jimin still found this confusing flame growing hotter and hotter and it just got worse each time you’d meet in your dreams.
You didn’t do anything wrong, you still thought he didn’t even exist so of course you would never think anything of it.
You were more so caught in the crossfire of his frustration with himself. He thought he was stronger, but time and time again you proved to be the one human who could bring a superior being like himself down to his knees. It was always so easy for you, you weren’t even aware you were doing it.
Jimin’s tried so hard to make this work.
He saw you every night and he’d always try to plan these elaborate dates to distract his troubled mind. They worked most of the time and proved to be fun just having you by his side. But that didn't completely stop the days you’d stay and relax underneath the big tree you first met under, which was oftentime a request made by you to just talk and admire the clouds passing overhead, but Jimin tried his best to avoid dates that were so casual because they usually never ended well anymore…
Were things different now because you were together? He didn’t know what changed but instead of the tranquil moments where you’d gaze upon the setting sun, Jimin practically had his tongue down your throat every time he’d see you.
One minute you were discussing the most obscene thing ever, mole science it happened to be that time. You had sat up so you could be closer to his face while you examined every dot across his skin and attached this arbitrary symbolic meaning behind their placements. It honestly didn’t make any sense to him, but you were so pretty and cute as you gently poked the dots and explained what each and every one meant.
You must have noticed he was confused because suddenly after you explained what the one on his cheek meant, you leaned down and kissed it. He was left giggling like a schoolgirl when you pulled away, the tingles, butterflies, he just felt so whole in that moment. The cute instance was short lived because the next one you went for just so happened to be on his neck (something that may or may not was on purpose), in a spot he quickly learned was so fucking sensitive the minute your lips met his skin.
He couldn’t even describe what came over him. It was this rush that flowed through his body to pull you close because how were you real and how were you his? You both had been laying on the picnic blanket but suddenly you were on your back staring up at him with those eyes he couldn’t help but get lost in.
All he wanted to do was kiss you, he felt like he had to in the moment, but once your lips were on his the harder it became to pull away. How could he?
The way you made him feel was so complicated, he honestly didn't have words but this fuzzy feeling mixed with just this innate, carnal desire he knew was a vestigial emotion from when he was still human. It was overwhelming almost, the need to have you, to claim you.
It proved to be one of the most revolving yet exhilarating experiences everytime that rush would hit. Your touch, your lips, your body, he just couldn’t get enough.
And each time it was getting harder to stop, to remember it was sin and that promise he made to his team that he absolutely couldn't, under any circumstances, break.
It was so pathetic, he was horrified every time he’d come out of your mind and back to the reality he faces.
What was he doing?
This road was a path filled with sin and he was still choosing to go down it?
What was wrong with him?!
Jimin wanted to have more faith in himself, that this was just the ‘honeymoon’ phase of your relationship and things would settle down eventually, but as the weeks passed it was just getting harder and harder to stop himself.
As much as he loved to pull you close anytime you were near, it was impossible to deny he wanted you closer. He wanted to feel you, touch you, love you in a way he knew how to.
You’d manage to stir awake a beast that had laid dormant for eons and Jimin didn’t know what to do.
The more logical side was saying as much as he loved being with you, this wasn’t healthy and he should stop now before things get any worse. Yet every night, he was back with you.
He couldn’t leave and he didn’t want to either.
Every time you’d fall asleep and that smile on your face when you’d finally notice him, he never wanted to stop seeing that.
It was almost hard to forget the times you’d gaze right through him, never once being aware of his presence. How could he go back to being nothing to you?
You were his and he was yours. He’d find a way to overcome this, if it’s the last thing he does.
That doesn’t mean it hasn’t been hard.
You made things hard.
You and your filthy mind.
You’d think about him all day, it would catch him off guard every time when he would watch over you at your job and you’d be so innocently sitting at your desk, like you weren’t thinking about the night before, in a scenario where you never woke up.
Your thoughts, painfully loud as you shifted in your seat. That date where you both rode on the backs of unicorns, you pictured his physique as you clung onto him that night as you and the herd rode into the sunset. It would just get worse, so much worse as you thought about when you both ended the ride, how he held you in his arms.
You wanted him to take you right then and there. It played so vividly in your mind, just like the countless other sinful fantasies that bounced around in your head all day. And he knew exactly how hot they would make you feel, the special bond you have making it all so clear what you wanted.
It was torture.
Jimin was forced to sit there and he couldn’t do anything about it. He’d even considered on a couple of occasions, merging down to the normal plane just to beg you to take pity on him.
Jimin hated you for it, it was pathetic.
You never realized it was Jimin’s doing, you always would curse to yourself whenever things got too hot and then you woke up in your apartment once more. You simply thought you got yourself too excited and would wake up as a result every single time.
In actuality it was the most speedy way to stop himself from going any further than he has.
He’s tried so hard not to go beyond kissing, so hard, and it was so pathetic that he wanted more every time. Every single time.
One day you had asked Jimin to take you back to the diner because you were craving their breakfast. The date had gone similar to the first time he took you, Laura served you a mountainous amount of food as you chatted about anything that came to mind. You were a little braver this time in getting up to explore the diner, wanting to see the extent your mind came up with the smallest details.
You went over to the jukebox they had sitting in the corner and bet that nothing would play because none of the songs were ones you recognized. Low and behold the random song you picked ended up overcoming the murmur of the other customers at the diner.
You were stunned but that officially meant you lost the bet. Jimin knew you would, but his wish was simple. He just wanted you to dance with him.
He laughed at your defeat but didn’t hesitate in pulling you close as you both began to sway to the soft strums of the guitar and drum of “My Girl,” one of his favorites from when he visited the time period. The moment had been a chance to have you in his arms, the others in the diner disappearing as you both just enjoyed the moment.
It was perfect, you were perfect. A warm feeling spread in his chest as he held you, that Jimin used his hand to make you look up at him so he could just kiss you.
It should have been a perfect, sweet moment— it was all up until your filthy mind was back and he knew you wanted more. The warm, sweet feeling turned into something darker almost instantaneously.
At this point he had it.
Jimin knew you were confused when suddenly you were pinned up against the counter a couple had been eating ice cream at only moments prior.
If things had gone your way he would have taken you right then and there. He would have had your dress bunched around your waist and fucked you so maybe then you would learn to behave.
And he nearly did, he nearly took you right against that counter. His hand on your waist had been shaking because just a thin piece of fabric was in the way of having you like he wanted. And your mind… you just made things worse.
That’s how every meeting would go between you these days. It was horrible and it was all because of you.
If you hadn’t done this to him he wouldn’t be in this position.
If you just listened to me you wouldn’t be in this position.
If he wasn’t so weak he wouldn’t be in this position.
But at the end of the day, he made his choice, and he continued to make the same one every night when he visited you.
No one was forcing him to continue this. You still thought he was just a dream, you would eventually forget about him and things could go back to the way they should be.
You were innocent in all of this, yet this fiery heated emotion was constantly directed towards you. He hated it, he hated all of these new emotions. As beautiful as the orchestra was, all of them felt strange, unnatural, dangerous even.
Jimin shouldn’t be feeling anything. He should be the soldier he was trained to be, obedient and with only one thing in mind— maintaining the balance and continuing the cycle of life in the universe.
A new emotion manifested all on its own as a result.
A gray cloud of gloom would storm, thunder, and pour continuously over his head when he watched over you throughout the day. Jimin couldn’t control it, and that just made things more confusing.
Was it sadness, depression, maybe some watered down version of it? What if it was something else entirely?
As happy as he was to be with you, it wasn’t right, nothing was right anymore.
Jimin had disobeyed the commands of his leader and now he was struggling to keep the one promise that his team had made with each other and had maintained for eons.
Jimin wanted the solution to just be that he had to stay in line, but that line kept being moved and manipulated. He just knew things would only get worse.
Was this what happiness was meant to feel like? All the humans he looked after, was it always this confusing for them? This pain that just didn’t make any sense— no end, no beginning, no wound, no blood, he could never place it… it just hurt all over.
Was this what he wanted when he decided to be with you?
He was happy, he was sad too, he was angry, he hated you, he hated himself more. It was all too much and Jimin felt like a hurricane was whishing and whirling around in his head— his mind was a horrible, tumultuous storm and maybe if he was human he would understand how to navigate this.
If he was human the problems he faced wouldn’t exist, he could be with you no consequences whatsoever. But at least if he was human he would be used to these strange feelings.
Maybe the answer would be clearer.
But every night Jimin came back to you and he never wanted to stop, because through the storm you were his beacon, his lighthouse, his safety, his refuge.
You were the only thing that made sense anymore and he just wanted to be with you, even if it was from far away it was still something.
Jimin hoped it would have stayed that way, he wasn’t entirely content but he respected the boundaries your relationship needed to have.
It was fine, and everything would have continued to be fine if he didn’t exist.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
You were enjoying your lunch break that day by yourself. Your friend Mina had been at home sick so you were eating your tteokbokki alone and mindlessly scrolling through your phone to occupy your time.
You weren’t truly alone though, you never were.
The cafeteria was minimalistic— the white, sleek, modern walls and tables, contrasted nicely with the bright chairs and accents throughout the room. It was a style something your office loved as they were a fan of bright colors, that being evident even in the office space.
Jimin sat with you at the table in the blue chair and you were in the red one right across from him.
You were completely unaware of his existence or all the rain that flooded the cafeteria as the cloud above his head continued to storm. Jimin was soaked but he’s grown used to it at this point.
He felt numb, but sitting here with you was nice.
Maybe in some other world you both might have been coworkers, a secret romance that blossomed between you two that eventually you couldn’t keep a secret any longer. The storm wasn’t overhead instead you both were sharing a meal together as everyone around you sighed at how single they were.
They were jealous and you would always laugh because you both really were lucky.
He couldn’t help but wonder sometimes, if you met while he was human would you have liked him? What if the only reason why you said yes was because you thought he was a figment of your imagination, your desires making you look past the glaring fact you didn’t find him dateworthy if it were real life?
Would Jimin have been a nice human? One your eyes would have been instantly drawn too? Would he have been charismatic, would he have you laughing with each and every joke he told?
He was human once, surely out of all the lives he lived at some point there was one that would make you fall for him.
But here right now? The Jimin you would have met, would you like him?
Jimin’s thoughts were interrupted when he noticed you turn toward the sound of the clicking of shoes against the tiled floor— ultimately looking at the guy who was walking over to your table.
Name: Pyeon Jin-Sang
Age: 28
Occupation: Lead Financial Officer at Divine Pharmaceuticals
He was a fellow coworker and you both had spoken on a couple of occasions. It was mainly about work, you both didn’t see each other much working in different departments.
It was why you were a little shocked to see him coming over to you.
Jimin instantly felt his blood run cold because he knew what he wanted.
“Hey Y/n…!” He was a little awkward, maybe nervous, but he was still cheerful as he took a seat at the green chair in between you two.
Jimin didn’t like him.
“Hi!” You smiled back as pleasantly as you could considering your mouth was full of tteokbokki.
“How have you been?”
“Ummm….” You were definitely confused, you normally didn’t have these casual conversations like this.
“I’ve been ok I guess, things have been a little busy in marketing, but I’m making it.” You were wondering if this was about work or something along those lines.
“I heard things were busy over there. You’re doing ok, right?” Jin-Sang seemed genuinely concerned.
You nodded. “I’m fine, but I think it was a little too much for Mina— she got a pretty high fever after staying late the other day.”
“Is that why she’s not here today?” Jin-Sang asked, looking around.
You nodded once again, taking another bite of your tteokbokki.
“Mmm well, you take care of yourself, alright? Seeing you around the office always puts a smile on my face.” He cheesed, cheeks dusting pink in the process.
You only halfway picked up on the flirting attempt— noticing it, but choosing to ignore it because no way was Jin-Sang trying to flirt with you.
Your face flushed nonetheless.
The conversation grew more natural with the uncomfortable icebreaker out the way.
You both talked a little more about seemingly anything and everything that came to mind, a little work, but you mainly focused on the personal details that you both just never seemed to discuss before.
He was a nice guy and a lot more interesting than you would have guessed from your brief interactions in the past. You laughed as he told you about the time he and his friends went kayaking down the rapids in Australia and how they nearly went down a waterfall after they made a wrong turn.
Jin-Sang was exciting, nice, and really funny.
The more you talked the more you picked up on his shy attempt at flirting with you. It was cute, he was cute.
He wore a suit that nicely fitted his frame, his sharp eyes would crinkle up anytime he’d smile at you, his dark hair neatly styled with a sharp undercut on display, but his cute round glasses and soft pink cheeks just made him look like a teddy bear.
There was no denying it, he was handsome.
You both talked for pretty much your entire lunch break and it was just as you were about to leave when he finally asked you the question.
“Uh… Y/n.” Jin-Sang called out to you as you started getting up. His voice wavered slightly and he quickly started playing with hands.
“You probably already know I didn’t just come over here to talk about my Australia trip or the logistics of blue cheese…”
It had been a strange conversation looking back on it now.
Jin-Sang paused and looked around like he was trying to find the right words.
“Alright, fuck it. I meant what I said in the fact I look forward to seeing you everyday, and even though we only talk on rare occasions, I really want to get to know you more.” Jin-Sang paused once again to gauge your reaction and you couldn’t stop the smile on your face growing even wider when he noticed yours.
“Uhhh…” He giggled as he scratched his head.
“Sorry you’re really pretty…” He tried to laugh it off, but you heard it and you couldn’t deny the butterflies you felt at the compliment.
“I really came over to ask if you wouldn’t mind hanging out with me outside of work.” He smiled at you.
Oh that smile could kill someone.
“Like a date?” You asked, a giddy feeling spreading in your chest.
“Yeah, a date.” You noticed his smile grow wider at your mention of it.
This should have been easy. Obviously there was enough chemistry here that trying things out would be worth it in your opinion. It was on the tip of your tongue to ask him for the time and place and tell him you’d be there.
Maybe things would make a little sense if the only reason for your hesitation was your concern of pursuing a workplace relationship. Those can get messy and there should be a little caution before being ready to take that short of risk. But that’s not why you hesitated.
As much as you enjoyed Jin-Sang’s company, a certain angel that made his way into your head every night was what ultimately stopped you in your tracks. What you actually were about to say, was that while he was a nice guy, you had a boyfriend already.
But that just served as a reminder that Jimin was nothing more than a figment of your imagination. As much fun as you were having with Jimin, at the end of the day, he was just someone who lived in your head.
And maybe this was a sign. You thought you had sworn off relationships for a while, but Jin-Sang was nice and a date or two wouldn’t do any harm. If things worked out then that’s great, but if they didn’t then so be it.
Jin-Sang noticed the way your smile started to drop as the proposition lingered in the air.
“Uh— you don’t have to respond right away! This was pretty sudden so I can give you some time to think!” He panicked and you instantly felt bad. This wasn’t fair.
“Oh yeah… um— can I have your number so we can talk?” You asked and he was quick to give you the digits before you could even open up your contacts list.
It was cute.
He gave you a slightly awkward goodbye as he made his way back over to his table of friends who had been eying you both intently since he walked over here.
As soon as he was gone, the guilt you felt nearly overflowed. To make matters worse you didn’t know who you felt more bad for, the fact you didn’t give Jin-Sang an immediate answer because of a figment of your imagination or… did you feel bad for what you might be about to do to Jimin?
It was crazy right?
Maybe you might have been, but you didn’t know that the Jimin that had stopped you, wasn’t in your head but sitting across from you.
From where he sat the storm that had poured over his head had filled the entire room, lightning flashed, and thunder crashed, as the wind blew everything around.
Jimin could hardly see you anymore, the rage he felt burning from within making a hollow gaze settle onto his blue eyes.
He didn’t scream, he didn’t yell, none of that would have done anything anyway.
Instead he let the embers burn, catching ablaze faster and faster and faster. It was a new emotion— it wasn’t rage, hatred, or anything in between but he knew it came from a place he didn’t like.
His confusion didn’t help but the storm raged on anyway and by the seconds grew even more powerful somehow. He couldn’t think straight, only one thought seemed to pierce through the storm.
You were his.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
Jin-Sang texted you by the time you made it home for you to tell Mina he hoped she felt better soon and also invited you out for coffee or ‘your preferred drink of choice’ on Saturday. Apparently this new cafe had opened up and everyone was talking about it. You wanted to text him back and tell him you were down and you were excited for Saturday, but it was like this little nagging voice in your head anytime you tried to type anything out would stop you.
Jimin.
It was stupid, incredibly stupid.
You knew Jimin only existed in your head, but sometimes it was so easy to forget that. Jimin was unlike any other person who’s made their way into your dreams, especially as someone you never met before, he felt very… real.
Maybe it was because of how vivid they always were, but Jimin felt like a real person. He had likes and dislikes that didn’t match your own, he had stories to tell you that you don’t remember, and something about the way he’d look into your eyes.
It felt real, too real that you often wondered if you had actually lost your mind.
Maybe you had and Jin-Sang was a sign you needed to wake up.
You had been lying on the couch trying to come up with an excuse why it wouldn’t be a good idea to go out with Jin-Sang besides your make-believe boyfriend, but apparently your mind was tired from the day, too much had happened. It also didn’t help that you had ASMR playing in the background, you were out before you even realized it.
You don’t know how long you were asleep for, but eventually you opened your eyes to find yourself looking out to the familiar field you found yourself at every night.
But things were immediately off.
You were propped up against the tree like you had been sleeping under it, and from this view you could see… well, you couldn’t see.
A thick gray fog covered the field so you could hardly see in front of you, thunder rumbled in the distance, and a light rain steadily started to sprinkle across your skin.
It was pouring though, you could tell in the heavy pitter patter sounds of the rain hitting the tall grass of the meadow, but you figured the large tree overhead was what was giving you a little coverage.
What was going on? The weather was usually so nice when you came here.
You looked around a little confused, things weren’t normally like this. But just as you were about to start calling out to him you were shocked when you finally noticed Jimin sitting around the tree.
He had his knees to his chest and his head was buried down in between.
“I’m sorry… the clouds just seem to follow me these days.” Jimin sighed.
And he was off too. Jimin was usually so happy to see you, always greeting you with a hug knowing how much you love them. It was clear something was bothering him.
You scooted closer so you were sitting right next to him.
“Are you ok?” Your voice was soft as you rested your hand on his shoulder.
You didn’t get an answer right away, instead the rain filled the growing silence once more. Part of you thought he might not have heard you so you were about to ask him again, but slowly Jimin lifted his head to look out to the foggy meadow.
You could see his eyes now, the vibrant blue looked like a violent storm at sea, the waves reached astounding heights and the rain poured overhead— the chaos of nature itself. Yet it was a quiet storm, one not a soul on land was aware of.
“Please don’t tell me you’re thinking about it.” Jimin sounded like all the life had been sucked out of him, his cheery smile gone and instead this plain, dead expression on his face.
For a second you had no idea what he was talking about, but the moment was truly small because of course the Jimin in your head would know about your dilemma with a certain coworker.
“Jimin—“
“You told me you were mine, that we were going to try…” If you didn’t know any better you thought he sounded like he was on the verge of tears, but your angel couldn’t cry, instead a heavy emotion with no way of release was filling his head.
In the distance the rumbling thunder grew a little louder.
You sighed and scooted even closer so you could put your arm around him.
“Please tell me you aren’t going.” Jimin tried again, this time finally turning to face you. For some reason he seemed slightly agitated, his gaze dark but filled with a pain that made your heart ache.
“Jimin… I’ve enjoyed our time together. Shit, you have no idea how much I wish you were real— actually, you probably do, you know everything I think—“
You took a deep breath.
“But you’re not. None of this is real. I can’t go out and introduce you to people. We can’t walk down the street and hold hands. Jimin you don’t exist, you’re just a figment of my imagination.” Your words were a little harsh but he had to understand.
You finally turned to him and you hated the look on his face, you could tell he was hurt. If that wasn’t a sign enough rain suddenly started pouring down from the sky.
It was violent, the cover of the tree wasn’t enough to shield you from the droplets that continuously hit your skin. You were soaked in seconds.
“Jimin!” You exclaimed, just a little annoyed he was reacting this way, but you felt bad as well.
“I’m sorry…” He grumbled the apology yet he didn’t feel bad at all.
He hated you.
He hated you because you were right in a way. He was real but he couldn’t do any of those things with you. To you he might as well be a part of your imagination, this is the farthest your relationship could go.
You could tell he was upset so you scooted closer and wrapped your arm around his shoulders.
“I wish so fucking much you were real and we could do all those things. The fact that I’m even contemplating this date over someone who doesn’t exist should tell you that much.” The pain in your voice, the sobs, you hoped he could feel how much you wanted him. Your tears ran down your cheeks, but you were thankful for the rain to cover it up some.
This was the perfect opportunity.
Everyone was right.
Jimin couldn’t even look at you, the grass that was being flooded by the rain held his attention. He watched as the water would try to soak into the ground, but too quickly there was more to take its place.
The grass was drowning.
This was one of those moments Jimin wished he could cry, something, because the reality of the situation was too much to handle.
He didn’t want to say goodbye, he didn’t want to let you go.
But it made sense.
His other half was right, this was the perfect opportunity.
Jimin knew Jin-Sang wasn’t a bad guy. His intentions were pure and he knew the date you would have would go well. You shared a lot of interest you’ve yet to discover and he would treat you well. He worked a well paying job, he would love you— he almost did already.
Jin-Sang could be the one.
Maybe things would be easier if he was sure, if he was like the higher up angels and he could know what stopping you from going on that date would do. He could be stopping you from your chance of happiness, something that he could never give you.
But he only knew the now and now hurts so much.
He didn’t want to let you go.
“Jimin… say something.” You cried seeing he was just playing with the grass underneath him.
The rain just got harder and harder. You were almost in a hurricane.
Now was the perfect opportunity.
He could say goodbye to you right now. He was only a dream to you. You would forget about him eventually. He could right the wrongs of this situation and go back to his position as it should. He was meant to be your guardian, nothing more.
Things would fall back to line eventually. Maybe with Jin-Sang there you would move on more easily. You would be happy and he would just be forced to watch it happen.
He wasn’t meant to be part of your life.
He didn’t belong here.
It might be hard now, but he would have had to say goodbye to you eventually. This was his opportunity.
It might hurt for a while, maybe even forever, but you would eventually fade into all the other souls he watched over and guided into the beyond.
Things could go back to normal, he could make his team happy, he could finally follow his leader’s orders.
This was it.
Jimin just needed to say goodbye.
But…
The clouds that raged around you almost dissipated instantly, the dark gloomy overcast replaced with the shining sun you were used to.
You looked around confused before turning back to Jimin wondering what was happening.
His head was still buried in his knees, but slowly but surely he lifted his head to finally meet your eyes again.
You certainly weren’t expecting to meet his dark gaze. His light blue eyes that reminded you of the ocean were replaced with something dark, black, a void almost. It’s like the storm itself had condensed small enough to rest behind his sad gaze.
It was scary only for a second.
“You’re right… I just… I don’t want to say goodbye.” He sounded like he was about to break. It’s like you were looking at a dam seconds away from exploding. Even though you knew he couldn’t cry it almost sounded like he was but the tears never flowed.
“Y/n, I’m sorry, it hurts and I don’t— don’t know how I— how to—“ He didn’t know what to say, how to articulate these feelings. All he knew was that it hurt somewhere deep inside to look at you right now.
You quickly pulled him into a hug.
“I get it… it hurts too.” Your voice was shaky as the tears streamed down your cheeks.
Jimin didn’t like the way this felt, you shaking in his arms, the ache he just couldn’t pinpoint in his body. It felt worse than a darkened blade piercing his skin. He wanted to scream but instead he just stared off into the endless meadow you meet every night.
When you pulled away, your tear streaked face made it hurt even more.
He didn’t know what to do, but seeing you like this, he would do anything to take the pain away.
Jimin cupped your cheek lightly and pulled you close. He was so gentle as his thumb lightly wiped away the tears.
You stared into his dark orbs and you could just see the pain on his soft features. It was so hard to remember that look was nothing but your imagination being cruel to you. It hurt worse knowing you were the one who caused this.
More tears slipped past your eyes and Jimin wiped every one away.
He was so sweet and you nearly melted away when he finally closed the gap between you two. His lips were so soft and kissing him felt like touching a live wire at the way your body tingled.
How could you let this go? You didn’t want to—
Suddenly your eyes shot open and you were staring up at your living room ceiling. It took a second to process where you were, to calm your heavy breathing, and to realize the fact you were soaking wet.
You hurriedly looked around and noticed the glass of water you had sitting on the coffee table was knocked over, but you were soaked. Just as soaked as you felt in your dream with all the rain pouring over you.
You looked around confused, but decided not to think about it too much as you steadily got up to grab a towel.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
“What do you think about Pyeon Jin-Sang?” You ask absentmindedly to your friend who was sitting right in front of you.
You and Mina had gone out to this cute cafe for your lunch break instead of staying in like you usually did.
Mina had been sipping on her strawberry latte, something she claimed was the cure to getting rid of her sickness entirely. You doubted it, knowing your friend, you knew she just wanted something sweet.
“You mean that guy from finance?” You knew it took a second for her to remember who you were talking about.
You nodded, picking up your galaxy lemonade. It had been a new addition to the menu and seeing the pretty colors, you just had to try it.
“Ummm… I guess he’s nice, pretty good looking, I don’t know we haven’t really spoken much. Why?” She was genuinely confused, you couldn’t blame her though, this was coming pretty out of nowhere.
“The other day while you were out sick he asked me out.” You watched her face intently and you see the shock on her features almost double at the news.
“What?!” She nearly screamed, making you quickly need to shush her.
“What?” Mina tried again, this time only a little quieter, emphasis on little.
You nodded.
“And you’re just now telling me?!” She almost sounded a little hurt at this.
“I would have said something sooner, but…” You started but trailed off.
“Are you thinking of not going?” Mina’s attention turned to the little tea cakes you both were sharing.
“That’s the thing, we talked that day and he was really sweet, funny, and I think I’d be willing to try out the date…”
“I’m sensing a but coming.” Mina knew you too well.
You had to think about how to phrase this without sounding absolutely crazy.
“Well there was this guy that I really, really like who I was already kinda dating—“
“WHAT?!” Mina definitely screamed this time as she firmly slammed her hands on the table. “And you didn’t tell me??!! Who is he? Do I know him? Why didn’t you tell me you liked him, let alone dating?!!”
“Let me finish first!” You tried to calm her down.
She had to take a deep breath before finally letting you continue. You didn’t blame her though, maybe this wasn’t the best way to go about this.
“Well he lives far away and as much as I like him the relationship just can’t work.” Your heart pained at the thought of Jimin so far away you can’t reach him. You miss him so much, you didn’t see each other yesterday.
“Oh…” You knew she had more questions but she was letting you finish first.
“Jin-Sang is nice and I want to go on that date with him, but as stupid as it may be, I—“
“Keep thinking about this mysterious man from far away?” Mina finished it for you and you nodded at her words.
Mina took a minute looking out the window, trying to find the right words.
“And you can’t do long distance?” She asked but you quickly shook your head.
If only it was as simple as a few hundred, you would even take thousands of miles in between you and Jimin. Unfortunately he wasn’t of this realm, only accessible through your mind.
Mina had more questions about that but she stopped herself again.
“We broke up when I told him about Jin-Sang.” You threw that in but did you and Jimin truly break up? It just felt like your relationship just started. The words still hurt.
“Oh…”
“Like it was fun while it lasted, but Jin-Sang is here. It’s not worth continuing something that can’t go anywhere.” You doubled down, but your hands were shaking in your lap. You didn’t mean anything you said.
“Well then I don’t know what’s so complicated, go on the date and have fun. One date never hurt anyone and if things have ended between you two it shouldn’t be a big issue. Like you said, you had fun, but if things aren’t going anywhere why waste your time.” Mina made it seem so easy.
Maybe it really was that easy.
It should be that easy.
“I get maybe you’re struggling because you still have feelings for this mystery guy, but they’ll eventually fade and going on that date might be a great start to putting that all in the past.” She smiled at you, taking another sip of her strawberry latte.
You didn’t want to move on. You didn’t want to let him go.
Your mind had been filled with his eyes right before you woke up from your dream, the pain and hurt in his dark orbs. You actually felt like you betrayed him.
But she was right.
You could be missing out on a really good guy for someone that wasn’t real. It was ridiculous.
“But this is the step in the right direction. I’m honestly a little shocked after I thought you said you swore off dating.” Mina recounted with a chuckle.
She had been by your side after your last relationship and had been that shoulder you cried on while you were going through the breakup. She knew how bad things were and the pain you felt that made you swear off from dating entirely.
“I’m proud.” And this was the nail in the coffin for you as she reached her hand over the table and rested it on yours that was playing with the edge of the napkin your drink sat on top of.
Mina was right.
You really have come a long way.
The fact you were even considering going out again was a step in the right direction.
Jimin… you knew he was there because no matter what you said about dating being a thing of your past, you still craved the touch of another human being. You had shut out everyone after your last relationship and after your time with Jimin you truly felt like you could try and let someone back in.
Slowly, you knew the relationship would have to move slowly. You weren’t there entirely yet and especially after Jimin— moving on would still be hard. But you were willing to try.
It just sucks you can’t thank the person who’s gotten you this far.
“It was him.” You tried to smile but your heart still hurt.
“Even though we were separated. He was truly there for me. It just sucks it didn’t work out, but I think you’re right. I should give Jin-Sang a try.” As much as it hurt now you didn’t regret your decision.
This felt right.
You and Mina clinked your drinks together in celebration and on your way back to work she helped you draft up your message to Jin-Sang after you told her how awkward things got after he asked you out.
By the time you were back, you and Jin-Sang were on for Saturday.
Jin-Sang [1:46pm]: can’t wait :3
And as much as you couldn’t stop thinking about Jimin, you honestly couldn’t either.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
You couldn’t see him but Jimin was right by your side every step of the way. He was there with you and Mina sitting at the empty table beside you both.
For some strange reason he’d hoped your talk with Mina would deter you from going through with this, that for some reason she would say to choose him despite it being impossible. Even in the vague way you explained your situation, she still chose Jin-Sang.
Jin-Sang was the correct choice after all.
Jimin had taken a small break yesterday from watching over you in order to get his head back in the game. That weird pain he felt deep down just got worse anytime he’d look at you.
He’d tried his best to convince himself that this was the right choice, that saying goodbye was what you should be doing. It was easier to accept when he was far away from you, in the refuge of that forest he found himself at whenever things got too hard.
It was easier to look at things objectively and accept that he had his fun with you, but now it was time to say goodbye for good and for things to go back to normal between you too.
Jimin only saw you briefly yesterday, anytime there was a sin that he would detect he was back next to you in a flash and taking all his frustration out on the monstrosity.
Today he thought things would be different, he thought the day yesterday was enough to get past the worst of it and for you both to begin your path to normalcy again.
But hearing you and Mina talk… when you said that you and this ‘mysterious guy you couldn’t be with’ had broken up he nearly lost it entirely.
A violent tornado formed around him in an instant and he just screamed out into the void that he lived in. Hearing those words made the realization hit him so much on how you would go back to staring right through him.
You were so close yet so far.
He would be nothing to you.
He remembered the pain he felt only months ago watching you live your life and he couldn’t be a part of it no matter how much he wanted to.
He didn’t know what to do.
He knew you texted Jin-Sang about the date but he was gone to the forest all over again. His head was swimming with all these unfamiliar emotions and he didn’t know what to do.
He had no one to talk to, he couldn’t tell his teammates— they all thought he was done with you already and certainly if he revealed it now he wouldn’t be granted with the advice he craved for.
Instead in his rage he nearly turned to the most drastic measures.
Alone in the forest, he felt cursed. He detested the life he lived, if he was normal, if he was human there would be no reason you both couldn’t be together.
His handle had turned into a small blade, his shirt had been discarded somewhere in the brush. The words that painted his skin all were blackened out and he still had healing scars from all the repenting he had to do.
At first this was only meant to be a reminder of the reason he needed to leave you, to see the damage you had caused him. But he wanted it to hurt, to hurt more than this burn he felt more from the inside because even then he still wanted to be with you.
Jimin had unfolded his wings and had them resting in his lap with the blade only centimeters away. He’d gotten as far as the knife had managed to graze the delicate feathers and it sent him screaming.
His knife had managed to put a slight tear in one of the feathers and that alone made him pass out.
He’d wanted them off entirely but his wings were too sensitive to try and do it willingly. Apparently his body rejected the idea.
Or really he didn’t want them off, he just wanted to be normal so you both could have your life together.
When he woke up merely seconds later Jimin felt different.
It was strange.
Beforehand, despite all the pain, he was going to try to leave you alone. He was going to try to say goodbye, no matter how much it hurt.
But now… His other half was silent and for once he felt like he could think for himself. Suddenly it all made sense now and what he wanted became so clear.
Why couldn’t he be selfish for once?
You were his after all.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
It was the big day, Saturday.
Jimin had been watching you as you started getting ready. Your date wasn’t till four but since it’s been a while since you’ve gone on a first date, you were feeling nervous with an extra need to make yourself look presentable so you started the process early so you didn’t have to rush.
Jimin hated the way he felt, he hated the way you felt even more.
You were giddy, eager for tonight— for a man that wasn’t him.
Jimin had no right to be upset.
But he was.
This flame just grew as he watched you get ready steadily. And you looked so good too…
You always did…
The situation just felt unfair.
Why did Jin-Sang get to have you?
The whole argument centered around the fact you thought he wasn’t real, but he existed just like anyone else in the world? Why did he have to give in for the sake of some human?
He would be better to you, he knew he would. So why did he need to be the one to let you go?
It just pissed him off even more. Were you so easily forgetting who you belong to?
You were his and he was yours. Why did he need to suffer and watch you live on? It was unfair, this shit was so unfair.
He’s sacrificed so much for you already and now he was the one who had to give up?
Jimin didn’t like the nasty emotion that just kept growing as he watched you.
Anytime you’d text Jin-Sang about later he felt like he wanted to slam himself into a building. He felt an even greater urge to fly over to his apartment and set things straight. He didn’t know what came over him.
This was meant to be the right choice yet it didn’t feel like it.
And then…
Though he was here with you, he knew at the moment Jin-Sang was on the phone with his friend about whether it was weird to bring condoms on the first date or not. Jin-Sang was saying “what if she thinks that’s the only thing I want?” but his friend was saying to bring them “just in case, you never know how this date might go.”
Jimin wanted to go over and slap him for even thinking about it, but again he had no right. It just made him think back to what things were like with your last boyfriend. It was hard then to manage, but now… now…
Anger cursed through his body the closer the time got because it wasn’t fucking fair.
You were his. He was your boyfriend, you were his girlfriend.
He should be the one you’re so giddy to see later, he should be the one you’re so tentatively getting ready for a date for. It should be him, it should be him, this wasn’t fair.
Because it truly wasn’t.
If things were different— no fuck that.
Jimin should have left, given himself another day, maybe to cool off. Maybe even a more official break would have been the best thing to do to give himself time to reset. He shouldn’t have stayed but it was that same strange, nasty emotion he hated that brought him into a whole new problem.
It was only a few hours to your date and you were chilling on your bed, a silk robe the only thing covering your body. You’d already showered and done all the pampering you needed to. You even had your dress laid out on the bed beside you after you spent nearly two hours on the phone with Mina about what to wear.
You both decided on something casual enough since you were just going out to coffee, but still was sophisticated in its slight pretty elements. It was a simple, black, short sleeve dress that had cute heart shaped buttons going down about halfway, its white collar and the way it gently hugged your curves gave it that level of spice that Mina said it would be perfect for the date. You also had this tiny white purse and fun, cute shoes that also had hearts on it to match.
It was very different to how you dress at work but that was exactly the point.
All you needed to do now was get your clothes on, do your hair and makeup and then you were out the door. It might seem like a lot, but you knew you wanted to give yourself some time to make sure everything was perfect.
Laying here though after all the hectiness of trying to get ready, it was only for a split second did you feel sleepy. You didn’t think too much of it though, you were about to get up soon anyway, but it’s like this wave suddenly overtook you and before you had time to react you were out cold.
You didn’t even realize you had fallen asleep until suddenly your eyes shot open and you were back underneath the tree you used to find yourself every night under. It had been a few days since you’d last seen Jimin, nearly a week at this point since that emotional fiasco happened last time.
Even though you’d tried to end things with Jimin, you were honestly glad to find yourself back. Last time just didn’t feel like the right place to leave on.
You looked around a second wondering where he was until suddenly you heard footsteps on the other side of the tree. You moved around and low and behold there was Jimin leaning against the tree with his arms crossed.
“Jimin?” You tested already sensing something was off.
“So you’re really doing this…” His voice was low and you sensed the attitude behind his words.
“We talked about this already, as much as I want to be with you, you know that can’t happen.” You sighed, slightly annoyed you needed to repeat yourself but understood this was hard. But why was your consciousness doing this to you?
Jimin finally looked over to you and he was staring at you with that same dark gaze that you saw last time. You could still see the raging storm in his eyes, you could see the pain and hurt you’d caused.
Jimin started walking closer to you.
“And after everything we've been through, you still think I’m not real?” The question seemed to ring in your head as the words settled in the air.
Jimin kept moving closer and you were just stunned because you didn’t know what to say. Of course this wasn’t real… it couldn’t be real.
You never stopped him as he came close enough so your back was against the tree, his arms coming up by your head, effectively caging you in.
“You really still think that…” He looked shattered as he stared into your eyes.
“Jimin…” His name fell from your lips unintentionally, it was almost a sob seeing that look in his eyes. He backed up slightly, disappointment written all over his features. He paced around for a few seconds.
“Or is that what you want that to be the case?” Jimin suddenly turned back to you, he was angry, malice laced in his words.
“What?” Your eyes were teary but you were confused. Where was this coming from?
“Jimin you know—“
“Do I?” He laughed.
“You just keep telling yourself that I’m not real so you don’t feel guilty about doing shit like this.” The accusation was insane and entirely unfair, but Jimin wanted it to hurt as much as you hurt him.
You had been sympathetic at first, but that quickly was wearing thin the more he talked, because this made no sense.
“What the fuck are you talking about? For someone who’s always in my head, this one time you’re choosing to ignore any it and make these stupid fucking claims?” Now you were angry, more than that actually because why was Jimin making this so hard for you?
“Hard for you?! Do you even know—“ Jimin had to stop himself real quick, the pain was overwhelming at this point. Why did this hurt so much? He didn’t know how to handle this at all.
“You promised we’d try…” You don’t know how much those words meant to him back then. To hear that you’d be willing to put up with his incompetence when it came to this type of relationship, it meant the world to him. He’d been so scared of messing things up, he’d already had but you’d so easily forgiven his mistakes and he thought things were going good so far.
“I did! But… Jimin we tried, and we tried as far as we could. I love the time we spent together and I wish, Jimin please hear me, I wish we could try more— into the real world. I wish I could go out and introduce you to people as my boyfriend, but I can’t! Look around, we’re in my head! This isn’t real, none of this is real and as much as I’ve enjoyed my time with you Jimin this is just a sign I need to move—“
The pain just got worse and worse.
“That would make things so much easier.” His attention wasn’t on you anymore, he couldn’t look at you, instead he stared down at his bare feet in the lush green grass.
“What are you sayi—“ Before you could finish he took a step closer to you once again.
“It wouldn’t hurt as much seeing you go off with him.” He’d gotten real quiet, but you could hear the quiver in his voice.
He took another step closer so he was standing directly in front of you. His hand came up steadily to intertwine his fingers with your own, so soft and gentle.
“I’m sorry… it just hurts so much and I don’t know what to do.” He steadily lifted your hand so it was resting on his shoulder. He finally raised his head to look up at you and you could have broken down right there seeing how dark his eyes had grown.
“Jimin…”
“I’ve never felt like this before and it just hurts so fucking much. I’m sorry.” He truly did feel bad about what he said. It wasn’t right to take this out on you. But he was still mad, this was all so unfair.
“I wish— I wish things were different.” You looked up at him with sad eyes, hoping he could sense your own pain in this.
“Why couldn’t you be someone I knew— a coworker, a highschool classmate I forgot about, a stranger I pass by everyday on the way to work— anything.” You sighed, frustrated honestly.
Even if the real life Jimin wasn’t anything like the one who’s made his way into your dreams every night, it still would be a relief to know he was there, that you could actually reach out and touch him, that you haven’t gone absolutely crazy over a person who didn’t exist.
“Why do you keep saying that?” Jimin cried once again in your head when he shouldn’t be.
“Because it’s the truth—“
“I wish this wasn’t real! If I didn’t exist then I wouldn’t have to live like this— watch you run off with some other guy because I can’t be with you. Maybe then it wouldn’t hurt so much…” It really would be better.
Every time you’d leave the dream he wouldn’t know what was happening, he would cease to exist until your mind conjured him up once again. Things would be so simple, wouldn’t it? He wished that was the case. Did you seriously not know?
He already knew that answer.
“Jimin… you seriously can’t tell me you think this is real?” Your eyes were sympathetic as you lightly ran your finger over his shoulder, before moving up to rub his neck.
Your words flipped a switch inside, you saw it happen with your own eyes, his sad gaze turning dark all in a second.
Suddenly Jimin started leaning in close, he was only centimeters from your lips.
“Is that what you want?” His voice was low, dangerous, like that was a challenge.
“Huh…” You were out of it, you couldn’t concentrate with him so close.
“Is that what you want— you wanna run off with him?” He was pissed again and back with the outrageous claims.
“Jimin—“
Suddenly you felt your other hand being lifted to rest on his shoulder as well, to which you finally wrapped your arms around his neck.
“This isn’t real?” He looked you right in the eyes.
“You’re trying to tell me what I feel for you isn’t real?” You hurt him again and you didn’t know what to say. Of course to him this was his reality but for you—
“Stop doing that!” He exclaimed, his gaze staring right through your soul.
You didn’t know what to say and Jimin didn’t want you to anymore, instead he finally closed the gap that was between you. His soft, plump lips melted against yours as you felt that fiery explosion of butterflies you did every time you and Jimin kissed.
You tried to pull him as close as you could, you wanted him to feel how no matter what, you truly did wish you could be with him.
But then he pulled away enough to separate the kiss, making a whine escape your lips.
“You’re mine.” He breathed out as his hands traveled down to rest on your hips.
“Jimin—“ Before you could finish you were silenced by his lips on yours again.
“Shut up— please, please shut the fuck up.” He sighed in between kissing you.
And this time you listened. For all you knew this might be the last time you’re seeing each other and there was no point going back and forth like this. Instead you wanted to leave this off on a positive note.
“You’re mine.” Jimin reiterated again because apparently you weren’t understanding.
This just made you kiss him harder. It quickly grew hot, heavy, and needy because you just wanted him close and this just wasn’t cutting it.
“Fuck—“ You moaned as he hurriedly pulled on his sweater.
“Do you understand? You’re mine.”  He needed you to understand. He was tired of playing the act that he was fine with letting you go— no you were his. It was just that simple.
Jimin had your back pressed hard into the bark in the tree, one hand on your waist the other sliding up your arm to finally cup your cheek to angle you just as he needed you.
His body was on fire faster than he could handle and he didn’t know why. This strange rage just made him want you even more than he could process. It almost hurt— he needed to slow down—
“Jimin, please— fuck, please!” You cried needing more. You didn’t have to ask again before suddenly you were falling once again and your back was against the soft grass with Jimin hovering right on top of you.
Your breathing was heavy as you stared at each other, his dark eyes staring right into your own, a pained expression on his features.
But the moment apart was short lived as Jimin dove straight down to your neck, hastily planting kisses across your hot skin.
“You’re mine.” The grit in his voice, it was almost if he growled right in your ear and you nearly lost it all together.
Your legs hurriedly came up to wrap around his waist to pull him closer.
It was then when Jimin panicked a bit— you were so close— sin, so much sin, he needed to stop he should stop but—
Jimin’s lips were back on yours in a hurry, you moaned lightly as you felt him start to rock into your heat. So good, it felt so good.
Your hands, your hands coming up to quickly tangle in his hair, this— then your lips were on his neck, kissing, sucking, marking him up like he hoped it would.
Jimin let out a pained moan because the words on his body were burning so much it hurt but you felt so good. This strange mix of pleasure and pain had his body confused and he bucked faster into you because fuck—
He should have stopped, he needed to stop but it just never felt like it was enough. He needed you to know who you belonged to.
By now he would have stopped because the longer you kissed the more excited he knew he was getting. He never wanted things to get that far, scared he might reach a point of no return, but something about today was different, he wanted you to feel just how much he wanted you.
And it didn’t take very long for that to happen…
It was too much. Every touch, every kiss he gave to you, he could feel it all. The connection you shared allowed him to feel for the both of you and it quickly got overwhelming.
He couldn’t control it and it just made that fire burn uncontrollably as your fervent hands ran down up and down his back and through his hair.
He loved kissing you, he loved touching you and he loved how it felt when you did it back. And to think this was sin— it was, it had to be in the way you practically bewitched him.
“Jimin…” You moaned softly because you could feel it now.
Jimin broke away from you slightly to grab your hand and trailed it down over the fabric of his toned chest, down to his waistband of his sweatpants, and then you could feel the outline.
Jimin groaned as he lightly rubbed himself along your hand.
“Does this not feel real to you?” He could hardly get it out, his mind was fuzzy and he was screaming at himself not to push this any further but he just couldn’t stop.
Your eyes stared right into his with pain because as much as you wanted to—
“Stop doing that!” He whined, your hand was right there.
He couldn’t think straight anymore, he wanted to fuck you, he wanted you to understand how much he wanted you, he wanted you to realize it.
Jimin quickly pulled your hand away and was kissing you once again with even more ferocity. He had to make you understand, he couldn’t lose you.
He pushed into you, faster, harder, so fucking desperate.
You weren’t quite understanding the situation, you honestly thought that this was just going to be a heated goodbye. You thought this was your consciousness giving you one last hooray with Jimin before you needed to come back down to reality.
You just knew if you both weren’t naked in the next thirty seconds you were going to lose your mind. But Jimin thwarted any attempts you made at pulling down his sweatpants, even taking off his sweater proved to be an impossible task and you might have been more confused if Jimin didn’t make sure your attention stayed on him nonetheless.
You had never felt this turned on yet sexually frustrated simultaneously, but you enjoyed the grind, the hurried pace he set and you just wanted him too—
Suddenly a pain whined left his lips and you felt his hips falter slightly.
Oh? Was he close?
You pulled him closer, needing him as close as he could get.
If only—
You were so distracted by Jimin you hardly noticed things started to change around you. The beautiful meadow in your mind slowly started to drift away but all you could focus on was Jimin’s moans and his lips on yours.
It didn’t dawn onto you until it steadily started to realize you didn’t feel the grass against your back. The thought was brief compared to the feeling of Jimin hastily pulling off of you.
You finally opened your eyes and you were shocked to see you were staring up at what you quickly recognized as your bedroom’s ceiling.
You blinked a couple of times before you finally turned beside you where all the commotion was coming from.
Someone was beside you.
It almost sounded like they were in pain at their low groans and how they almost seemed curled up beside you. And it almost sounded like—
You hesitantly sat up and low and behold you saw Jimin’s pained face as he was clutching onto one of your pillows.
It was Jimin but he looked slightly different, gone was his blue hair, matching sweater and sweatpants— instead he was wearing a white, short sleeve shirt, with matching white flowy pants, he was also blonde again.
What was going on?
“Jimin?’ You finally said something.
The longer you sat here the more you realized something was off. That haziness, dreamy, whimsical feeling you always felt when you were with Jimin wasn’t here.
You looked down and you weren’t wearing your pretty white dress, instead your silky olive green robe you had thrown over the lingerie you had put on.
You looked around more and in fact this was your room, it looked exactly like your room eerily similar. Even the clothes you had set out for your date crumbled up underneath Jimin’s feet.
This seemed real… too real.
You felt awake.
“Jimin…?” You tried again, this time lightly placing a hand on his shoulder.
You weren’t seeing things, you could feel him, and at your touch he finally looked at you for a split second.
Light brown eyes looked back over you.
You could touch him, he was warm, and his pained whines…
Suddenly your whole conversation came back to you.
“And after everything we've been through, you still think I’m not real?”
You sat there waiting for you to wake up for real but the more you stared at Jimin the more you felt like that wouldn’t happen.
“Are—are you happy now?” His voice was muffled beside you by the pillow.
“I told you, you were mine…”
Suddenly it slapped you in the face.
You weren’t dreaming… were you?

𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍 ☂️ ༉‧₊˚✧ .
it's seven o'clock right now, and it's raining very badly. you had finished all of your work and planned on going home, but you forgot to bring your umbrella. so now you are waiting at the bus stop like a lost child.
you heard your phone ringing and opens your bag to search for it. turns out, your boyfriend had called you. you answered the phone almost immediately, hoping he would offer to pick you up.
"hey." he said in a monotous tone. your face scrunched up a little after listening to his tone, but decided to ignore it anyways.
"hey mister boyfriend."
"stop calling me that."
you giggled at his answer. "what's wrong? why did you suddenly call me?"
"you mean i can't?"
"i never said that!"
he sighed to the phone and didn't answer, that was until you heard a scream of your name from afar. when you turn around, you certainly didn't expect to see him standing still and waving his hand under the rain like a child, holding an umbrella on his other hand.
"wh- cyno?! what are you doing here?!" you hung up the call and put your phone inside your bag again.
"i figured you didn't bring your umbrella to work because you kept insisting about the 'weather forecast' saying that it won't be raining." he offered you his umbrella, "so i decided to be a good boyfriend and pick you up."
"what..what happened to your car?"
"what do you mean what happened? my car is perfectly fine."
"then why did you not use it to pick me up?"
"because we are dating and i want us to just take a simple walk like any other couple? it'd be rain-diculous if we never walk together under the rain." there was a small silence between you two. looking at his face, you are sure that he took pride into whatever joke he just said.
"alright, i'll let it slide this time. but if both of us get sick tomorrow because of this, i'm not even surprised.."
both of you did end up get sick tomorrow. cyno definitely didn't regret it though.

A "little" review!
Here is my own opinion on Trolls Band Together, enjoy :D :
I really don't like the French translation that my fellow Canadians uses for movies... and I certainly HATED the voices they gave to Poppy and Branch and all of the characters tbh... every time, the characters are completely devoid of emotions and are just talking because they need to with an exaggerated European French accent that we Canadians don't have... and I hate it... BUT me and my big Sister still couldn't keep ourselves from watching the movie and here is my review...
I FREAKING LOVED THAT MOVIE TO DEATH!!!
Ignoring the REALLY bad voices and bad translation, the first few minutes were really fun and I understand even more why Branch ended up loosing his colors and becoming the Branch we've seen in the first movie. Loosing his Bros was a bad enough situation, but loosing the last Troll he had was the last straw. Also, on Grandma's card that I've seen on the net, her fun fact now makes so much sense xD
Tumblr media
I was wondering why it said Babies in plural when I thought Branch was the only baby she had to take care of, but now it makes sense xD I also wanna know why she didn't stop the Bros from leaving though...
The next scene I though was so cute, Gristle and Bridget getting married was amazing, especially when she got to "roll" to him in her call back dress from the first movie! It was adorable! John Dory immediately recognizing branch for me was really touching, although I do think Branch had a point when he tried to confront his Bro. I know what it feels like to be left behind and it's hard to forgive this gesture. It's also hard to forgive someone who tried to control you everyday of your life, then abandoning you the moment they loose their control...
But I do think John might not have realized it at the time! Or at least I hope so?
Anyway, Velvet and Veneer were so funny and they make me wonder what kind of other Creatures lives in the Trolls Universe, it's also nice to see that technology exists there too! I wonder how they got Floyd into that diamond prison? If only the perfect family harmony can shatter diamond, why not unscrew the top of the bottle? xD Jk
My sister laughed when she saw Spruce/Bruce, because he used to be the most muscular now he's big(It does make sense though as to why he would be, he's cute nonetheless) xD But we both loved his new look as well as Brandi and their kids, they were really cute! I also like their species, they looked like puppets, they were really adorable! Also, I'm wondering the exact same thing as John, How are they making this work? I'm genuinely curious xD
Crimp surprised me, tbh. What is she, though? It's not really important. Anyway, she's one of my favorite, hands down! Velvet looked like she was gradually growing mad with power, a little cliche, but still entertaining! Veneer did look like he didn't like what was going on as well as loving his fame and riches, very conflicted. And I love how Floyd was so sarcastic to him like Branch was with Poppy in the first movie xD
The too much hussle part made my brain melt, it almost felt like an acid trip like the Jazz hypno from World Tour. So, I don't have anything else to say about that. It was funny though!
I LOVE VIVA!! She's just like Poppy but hard on caffeine and I love it xD
Also, I called it: Clay is my all time favorite taking Trollex's place as #1!!! I could talk about him for hours, but I'll spare you by only saying that I think he's the cutest and funniest(Even if he doesn't want to be funny anymore)! xD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HE'S JUST SO FREAKING CUTE I LOVE HIM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, I gotta say that Tiny wasn't annoying(surprisingly) in this movie. I don't like Tiny and I don't like that DreamWorks are trying to add him everywhere, but he was just fine in this movie and he even made me laugh when they were climbing up the walls with their gummy gloves xD
The car chase was fun, the songs were amazing and the message was great as well, I like how John realized his mistakes and puts Branch in charge at the end. Also....
I REALLY THOUGHT BRANCH WAS GONNA PROPOSE, WHY DREAMWORKS?!???!??!?!?!
Anyway, this was my review, I'll definitely buy the movie when it comes out on DVD and watch it until my Boyfriend gets sick of it and tells me to stop xD If you want to see it, please do, I thought it was way better that the first two by a landslide! Though I still love the first two xD

Sweetapple Slices - Slice One
Tumblr media
Sweetapple | Dear Mr Tracy | Along the way
I posted one of the OC questionnaire meme thingies and when I received some asks, I realised I could only communicate with my OCs through fic.
So for Alex, introducing Sweetapple Slices - short fics I can answer questions with :D
I hope you enjoy.
-o-o-o-
@idontknowreallywhy asked:
If your character had to get a tattoo, what would it be?
This was written between work shifts so done in a massive hurry. i hope it works. Many thanks to @onereyofstarlight for the quick read through :D
-o-o-o-
“No, Erry, no.”
“Aw, you are a spoil sport. Here I was thinking I could get a little apple in support.”
Alex starred at her. “It’s permanent, Erica. What if you end up hating me, you’d have to burn it off or something.”
She stared up at him, quite frankly as if he was a silly moron. “Don’t be silly.” Well, he was half right. “I could never hate you. You are just too adorable.” She reached up as if to pinch his cheek, but he ducked away.
She grinned and grabbed one of his fries instead and stuck between hot pink lips. “Wuss.”
“Why do I put up with you?”
“Because we are a good together. We make excellent multifunctional polymers. And without me you would never have thought to, much less approached, the mighty Scott Tracy with your brilliant idea.” She stole another fry just for emphasis.
He stared at her, but ultimately he had to smile. How could he anything but? Erica was multicoloured today - pink lips, blue hair propped up in pigtails, and a shade of sparkly green eyeshadow that just added to her overall level of glowing radioactivity.
“You’re dangerous.”
“And don’t you forget it.” He lost another fry.
“You do have your own, you know.”
“Not as entertaining.” She swooped in for another, but he moved the remainder out of her reach.
She pouted a moment, but then grinned at him. “See, you can learn.”
He fought back the urge to throw all his fries at her head.
“But, come on, seriously, you wouldn’t want to get a tattoo? Not even one that says ‘Virgil forever’ or ‘He’s my thunder’…oh, oh, ‘Rescue me, baby’ with a love heart.
He found himself staring at her again. None of those were worth any comment at all. “So do you have a tattoo?”
“Of course.” She suddenly found the street outside the cafe much more interesting than poking fun at him. In that direction lay the tattoo parlour that had started this whole discussion.
“Well?”
“Nope. Not telling unless you get one, too.” She snuffed her nose at him. “No tatts, no tales.”
“I could ask Fireman Fred.”
Her eyes widened. “Don’t you dare!” But then she realised how much she was revealing and she settled back. “He doesn’t know anyway. So, hmph!”
“Really? You have all the eyes for him, Ery. No action?”
“Mind your business.”
He burst out laughing. “So you can mind mine, but I can’t yours?”
“Exactly. Besides, if I didn’t mind yours, all sorts of things could happen.” Her hands were gesturing about as if she was trying to contain and enunciate the concept.
“Like what? The end of the world as we know it?”
“Pretty much.”
And that was the end of that because he happened to look at his watch and apparently talking about getting tattoos had eaten their entire lunch break. They were now five minutes late in getting back to the convention centre.
Damnit.
There followed the jamming of fries in his mouth, sculling the coffee that was barely passable - he wouldn’t be coming back here again - and dashing out the door like a pair of teenagers late for class.
He did eye the tattoo parlour one more time as they ran past, though…
If he did return three days later, after the dregs of the convention had finished, on the last night before flying back to Māhia, when Erica was otherwise occupied, he certainly wasn’t going to mention it.
And if sitting down at work for the next week required just a little extra care, he still wasn’t going to say anything.
It was worth it.
Because if Virgil ever did get around to discovering the tiny silhouette of Thunderbird Two on his right buttock, he was hoping it would get kissed better.
Much better.
