Summary: You decided to ask out Usagi after a stressful work day, deciding you should confess your feelings along with it, you hope she likes you back.

Pairing; Yuzuha Usagi x GN!Reader

Knocks from the door can be heard but Usagi paid it no mind as she stayed laid on the floor—her eyes closed to prick out tears onto the floor as her face held out a solemn look

Your knocks continued—not stopping until you heard or saw a respond

You grew increasingly worried as your knocks got rapidly fast

'No, no she's okay I'm sure'

You took the last resort—shouting at the door; your fingers cross in hope of a response.

'Please please she can't be gone now..' you overthink as your breaths got heavy

Hearing a sound behind the door, you light up—being thankful shes still there

Usagi opened the door, her eyes glossy and close to crying, her form sluggishly standing in front of you

You send out a warm smile toward her and immediately hugged her—providing warmth

Usagi was taken aback by your sudden action of yours but slowly hugged back as she laid her head on your shoulders, finally letting out the tears she had been holding,

"it's okay, let it all out.." you stroked her head to give a sense of comfort as you hugged her more tightly

Usagi sobbed and sniffed, her tears falling onto your clothes but you didn't mind as you were focused on comforting her

Usagi sniffed and looked at you, her eyes red and puffy,

"What if he doesn't come back?..." She silently muttered and bit her lip, holding back a sob,

"I… I don't know… but I know he'll want you to live for him.." you pathetically tried to find words to comfort her but Usagi got silent and gulped,

"Please Usagi, don't do this to yourself, even if he doesn't come back… he wants you to live… it's not your fault please.." you begged and put your head above hers, tearing up from the thought she will be gone,

"I- I'll try.." Usagi stuttered and looked at you,

"Thank you" she smiled at you weakly, still sniffing and her eyes still pricking the tears out,

"I don't know how I will comfort you but it takes time to recover from this sudden news and I know you're strong so just please stay with me and get through this together." You looked at her back in hopes of her agreeing and Usagi chuckled, the sadness in her tone noticeable,

"He wants me to live, he wants me to live" Usagi repeated those words and took a deep breath, wiping her tears away,

"Yeah.." Usagi chuckled again, her mood lifting after hearing your words of comfort for her

"I'll always protect you no matter what" you kissed her forehead and hugged her

You sighed from the tiredness you had earned from the amount of work you had done today as you laid your back in your chair, trying to find a comfortable position.

You try to think of things that make you happy and immediately thought of Usagi—making you smile at the thought of her

'i should hang out with her today'

You pulled out your phone and called her—her answering immediately,

"Hello?" She spoke out from the other line and you immediately grinned at hearing her voice,

" Usagi! Do you want to hang out today? Only if you're not busy of course-" before you can finish what you're about to say— Usagi chuckled and hummed,

"Of course why not? I'm not busy today so I don't 'mind" she informed you and you mentally said 'yes' in your head and smiled,

"Oh okay then! I'll see you after work, ill meet you at your house" you grinned at meeting her

Your tiredness almost immediately went gone when you spoke to her

'Should I confess to her?' you thought for a moment about the decision you will make but you were interrupted by Usagi speaking from the other line diverting your attention from your thoughts to her instead,

"Okay! I'll see you later" Usagi ended the call and you sigh in content

'it seems she's more cheerful now' you smiled at the thought of her being happy after her mourning—after all, all you want for her is to feel the happiness she deserves after going thru a lot.

You ran your thoughts about confessing your feelings for her and after some time you finally decided to muster your courage up and ask her out later.

You readied yourself up, putting on the right amount of perfume and tidying up your hair than you usually do

'why am I so nervous, I haven't even seen her yet' you chuckled at yourself and looked at yourself in the mirror

You decided to wear simple today; jeans, t-shirt, and jacket,

"Okay y/n you got this!" You hyped yourself up and smiled, ready to finally face her with your feelings

You walked and walked until you were finally facing her door

You put your worries down in the back of your mind, focused on your breathing.

'not time to worry y/n, you can do this!'

You knocked on her door, waiting patiently for her response

You were still a bit nervous but you can't back out now as you promised yourself to finally say your feelings.

Before you knew it, she was in front of you

She still looked beautiful even tho she wore simple clothes

You blushed and awkwardly smiled, coughing and gulping

Usagi looked at you worriedly and put a hand on your shoulder, her eyes held a concerned look,

"Are you ok?" She worriedly asked but you nodded lessening her worries,

"Yeah, I'm fine just uhm…" you started to trail off as Usagi got confused,

"Hm?" She hummed waiting for you to continue,

"Aha uhm anyways, where do you want to go?" You shifted the topic, feeling nervous,

"Hmm…"

"I wanna go to an arcade, it's been a while since I have gone there." She said and you nodded,

"Didn't expect you to go to arcades" you teased jokingly and she chuckled,

"Yeah, right" she grinned and rolled her eyes,

"Let's go?" You put your arm out for her and Usagi looked at you awkwardly,

"What's with the arm linking?" Usagi slightly joked and you gulped, shaking your head,

"Oh? Uhm nothing let's just go" you put your arms down but Usagi seemed to stop and looked at your arms,

"Hmm" she started to think and looked at your arms

She grabbed your arms and linked her arms with you, making you a blushing mess and awkwardly trying to look away from her,

"Lets go" she smiled and started walking, while you struggle to contain your outburst of feelings.

You entered the arcade along with Usagi, your arms still linked together that still made you a blushing mess but you got used to it as you guys converse with each other until you and she got into an arcade,

"Let's play the claw machine!" Usagi told you and looked at you with her eyes making you blush and chuckled,

"Alright, I'll pay for the tokens" you offered but Usagi looked offended,

"What? Who said it's your treat?" Usagi said with her eyebrows raised,

"Me?" You answered unsurely but Usagi huffed and shook her head,

"Nope, I'll pay it" Usagi denied your offer and started to take her wallet out,

"I have money that hasn't been used so might as well treat you out" you stopped her and she looked at you—blushing a bit smiling,

"Mhm, okay then, can't say no to money can't I?" she joked and you chuckled, pulling out your wallet

You walked towards the booth to where the tokens are bought along with Usagi (your arms still linked but you don't mind at all as you enjoyed it) your wallet on the other hand,

"Hello, can I buy 45 tokens please?" You request for the lady who was handling the booth and she nodded, counting the amount needed,

"That'll be 1,501.27 yen" the lady said looking at the both of you and Usagi, your arms linked together with her—catching the lady's attention,

"Oh okay" you ignored the lady's look and started counting your money

Usagi blushed and looked away, feeling embarrassed but the lady whispered to her

"Are they your partner?" The lady asked and Usagi coughed in shock diverting your attention to her instead, asking if she was okay,

"Yeah, I'm fine…" Usagi looked towards the lady and the lady apologized, with Usagi awkwardly saying it's ok

You were confused but continued counting, taking out the money needed,

"Here" you put your money on the counter and the lady took out the tokens that were put into a plastic for more convenience holding it,

"Thank you for coming in, hope you enjoy the games" the lady farewelled the both of you and you nodded

Usagi and you started to walk until you and she found the claw machine, full of tiny and big plushies inside the glass

Usagi's eyes light up, dragging you along with her towards the claw machine that made you taken aback,

"Hey-"

"Shush, give me the tokens!" Usagi shushed you and put her hands out, waiting for the tokens

You chuckled at her antics and gave her the tokens

She insert the tokens into the claw machine and started playing, her eyes focused as her hands started to control the claw

You don't know what to do so you just started to hype her up while you laughed at her losing the plushie that she was trying to get,

"You know what ill help you" you offered and Usagi laughed,

"Are you sure? You're bad at aiming" she joked but you smiled,

"As if you aren't too" you retorted back and Usagi chuckled but nodded, letting you play with the claw machine

You let go of the arms linking which made you disappointed but you need to because you need to win the claw machine,

"Give me some tokens," you said and Usagi gave you the tokens in your hand

You inserted the tokens, focused on winning the plushie that she wanted

When the claw grabbed the plushie securely, you pressed the button that made the claw fall out the plushie from the machine,

"See? That was easy" you boasted and Usagi rolled her eyes

You got the plushie she was aiming for and gave it to her

Usagi was taken aback when you gave it to her as she expected you to keep it for yourself,

"What's with that look?" You asked and she only shook her head, her face blushing a bit,

"Nothing, I just expected you to be keeping it for yourself," she said and you chuckled,

"Hm? It's a date so of course ill give things to you"

You blushed at what you said and Usagi only looked at you shocked,

"Wh-what?..." She stuttered, shocked at what you unexpectedly said,

"Nothing, pretend I didn't say anything"

"..."

You guys continued to hang out, it was awkward after the conversation but you guys eventually warmed up with one another again as you guys played games together.

The sun was almost disappearing from both of your's sight so you decided to walk Usagi home,

"That was fun, thank you for today" Usagi thanked you but you shooked your head,

"It's nothing Usagi, you don't need to thank me" you smiled at her, slightly blushing

Usagi chuckled and cleared her throat, seemingly planning to say something

You took the chance and gulped, coughing, taking her attention away from her mind,

"Uhm Usagi can I tell you something?" You awkwardly asked

"Sure" Usagi nodded letting you speak,

"Well… remember when I first met you?" You questioned her and she looked at you confused,

"Hm yeah? Why is it?" She asked and you continue

"You were really nice and… really pretty too,"

"Even until now."

Your compliment took her aback as she blushed and yelled in shock

"Eh?!"

"Stop joking y/n" Usagi chuckled but you didn't say anything,

"I'm serious…"

"Oh."

"But the thing is, I started to fall for you as we hang out more" you explained and continued,

"When you received the news about your dad, I was worried as fuck and kept thinking what if you were gone and I was so thankful that you were still there" you were not even finished with what you were saying but Usagi widened her eyes—your statement making her blush more,

"I don't care if you like me back or not but I like you." You confessed and silent entered the scene,

"Y/n.." she started but you cut her off,

"Its okay if you reject me—" before you can continue, a pair of lips kissed you on the cheeks,

"I.. i- like you too.."

"..."

"Come on, say something!" Usagi joked and you blushed furiously, stuttering in words

Usagi held your hand awkwardly, standing close to you more,

"I love you too" Usagi whispered, she smiled and intertwined her hands with yours

Wouldn't stop thinking about for hours and hours with no end. At night, he probably talks to Chota and Karube inside his head while looking up at his ceiling, telling to them how his crush told him they feel safe with him, causing him to ultimately smile widely by himself while his hands rests beneath his head. He'd make sure that his crush would always feel safe with him from there on out.

Chishiya:

He'd feel a little weirded out but at the same time won't deny the blossoming feeling inside his chest. In the first part, no one has ever made him feel safe, not even back in the real world. He was always vulnerable both in his inner and outer shell, always seeking justification from his parents, especially his father. But to you? It's a whole new kind of feeling, hence the feeling of what seemed to be flowers growing inside his chest.

If he won't be able to contain it, he'd tell Kuina about you.

Niragi:

SMUG. SMUG. SMUG. He'd rub it in every militants face how his crush says they feel safe with him. Last Boss would look at him with a do-you-think-i-care kind of look while Aguni would internally roll his eyes before telling him to shut his mouth.

Most likely to threaten the others (even the militants) to back away from you. Of course, Niragi didn't want you to feel safe with anyone else apart from him. That's like his new job now!

Last Boss:

Stoic facial expression on the outside but giddy and happy on the inside. The type of guy who would replay your voice saying "I feel safe with you" inside his head multiple times. And he doesn't even get sick of it, because, why would he?

Usagi:

Would be a little conflicted at first since in the real world, she failed to protect her father but then comes you telling her that you feel safe with her. Ever since she was brought to this world, she's only made sure to look after no one but herself. But now, Usagi can feel like she'll be looking out after you, who made your way to her heart, now.

Kuina:

Just like Niragi minus the smug part. She's all smiles and giggles as she happily keeps talking about you to Chishiya. If he tells her to scram, she'll talk about you to Usagi and Arisu next. It's like her happiness reached it's full maximum point that she didn't know was possible!

Karube:

Feels like the world is suddenly a great place to live in. He'd most definitely start being around you now, would want to go with you anywhere and play the games with you. Although a part of him knows that you can look out for yourself (especially when the game is low level difficulty) he just can't help it. He just wants you to rely on him too.

Mira:

You guys know those monitors in that one episode wherein the game masters watches the players how they did in the games they designed? Yep. Mira is replaying that scene while listening to your line, telling her saying "I feel safe with you". Gets mad at anyone if they disturb her while she repeats the video.

Adm Note: This honestly started off as me venting and I just turned it into a story. Everything I wrote is below the cut! Feel free to imagine any AIB character you want, this takes place in the real world but you remember everything from the borderlands! I am going to sleep, Goodnight/morning/afternoon and I love you all! <3

Standing on the roof of the building, nearing the edge slowly but surely, like a sailor being lured into the water by a sirens song. It's like a wire was wrapped around your body, making you walk closer to the edge but being the only thing keeping you up from the fall. but you didn't hold fear in your body from the possibility that you could fall.

It's not that you truly wished for death but you welcomed the feeling of peace that came with the idea of death. There are many things you wished to accomplish, and experience but was it worth the fight? Was it worth waking up everyday and struggling to find the strength to get out of your bed? Was it worth the not being able to take care of yourself, not getting up to shower or eat?

You didn't know what would hurt the people you cared for more. If you were to let yourself fall from the roofs edge, or if they notice you had slowly been rotting away before their eyes and they were to late to stop it? You knew it was selfish, to put them through that pain just for you to find peace, but you couldn't keep up the act anymore.

The act of going about your life as if you weren't dying inside from the evil whispers of death that plagued your mind daily.

It's like you're drowning, but no matter how fast and hard you swim through the water it's never quick enough. Sometimes it takes years to finally break through the surface, and even then it's not over. At some point you will be swept back into the dark waters and start your struggle all over again.

You can choose to keep fighting against the currant and to find the will to live your life to to fullest, make the happy memories you craved to have with people. You can win your battle, even with tears in your eyes and a burning in your eyes; you can win.

Or you could succumb to the currant and let the water fill your lungs after you blackout, being yet another soul to lose the war with yourself; the kind of soul that is so broken the grim reaper himself sheds tears for you. You can let your demons win, but what would you win? Peace?

Peace would get lonely after a while, and you will watch everyone move on, leaving you in the past, until you were forgotten completely.

Your fingers curled into your palm, battling with your mind once again as your desire to live crawled from the cage it had been trapped in. "Y/N?" That voice caused all the battling to stop, the voice filled with worry at seeing you so close to the edge.

Your shoulders visibly relaxed, you weren't going to leave them; you didn't want them to go through that pain. You didn't want to be the cause of their heart ache, you wanted to protect them from it.

Stepping back down from the ledge, you noticed how they let out a sigh of relief from the corner of your eye. Turning you tried to send them a small smile, but your lower lip trembled as salty tears pooled in your eyes; but that didn't compare to the sting of them watching you like that. Like you would slip through their fingers, like you were grains of sand that would fall from their hands when the wind blew to hard.

They wordlessly walked over and pulled you into them, a hand on your lower back rubbing soothing circles into the fabric of your hoodie; their other hand was cradling the back of your head like you would disappear the moment they let you go.

This was one of your worse days, but they were always there to catch your fall. Maybe, they were your peace. Your safe haven in the middle of the whirling storm of your mind; and even if it's only temporary, you would appreciate every effort they made.

The warmth from the hug radiated pure love and relief as they tried to ground themselves of the fact that you are still here, not caring about the silent tears that had fallen from your eyes and soaked through their shirt as you found comfort in their arms.

You're okay, You're still here. They can still feel your pulse beating heavily. They can still feel your warmth. They can still feel you.

For now, you were okay being in their arms underneath the billions of stars that decorated the skies. Yes, sometimes you had bad days, but moments like this made you remember why you wanted to be alive.

Kuina Hikari:

- the moment she finds out you're hurt in some sort of way, any sort of way, really, she will immediately rush to your side and ask what happened before quickly helping you

- she probably wouldn't really know what to do if you're injured to the point you needed to recover and couldn't play games but she would be with you every step of the way

- she will do anything you ask of her when you're injured if you can't move a lot, food? she's got some for you within five minutes. need someone to just be there with you? she's comfortably situated next to you with her arm wrapped around you

- to be honest she would be mainly worried if you would be able to play a game again before your visa ran out

- but she would try her best to not show that she's worried, instead sticking by your side during your whole recovery and trying to lift your spirits by joking around with shit (like making fun of chishiya's height)

- if you were to pass out suddenly from the pain, kuina would freak the fuck out, not knowing what the hell to do and just trying to wake you up and make sure you're not dead

- to be honest if you didn't wake up after a few shakes, she would straight up just pick you up and take you to whoever knew medical stuff the most since she's blind in that area, hardly knowing how to patch herself up so how would she know how to help you when extremely hurt?

- kuina would have no clue what to do if you still hadn't woken up, starting to think that maybe you won't wake up from this and how guilty she felt for letting you go clear a game alone without her, she would definitely get down on herself about it

- but whenever you do wake up and she realizes you're not dead, she's immediately hugging you and apologizing about not really being helpful with this kind of stuff and how she loves you so much that she would be utterly broken without you

- you're one of her main reasons to get out of the borderlands, and if she were to lose you in these games, she would definitely go insane and just give up entirely, not seeing a point to survive without you there with her

- after you've recovered, kuina would not leave your side for anything. she will be hanging over you constantly to make sure nothing happens, lightly threatening people if she has to just so you don't get accidentally tossed into another game with idiots from the beach

Ann Rizuna:

- it's not often that ann freaks out over things, in fact, it rarely happens, unless it deals with you that is

- the moment you walked back to the room you shared with her at the beach, injured to the point you were hardly able to stand, she felt her heart stop at the sight of you

- she always told you not to go and complete games without her, worried that one day you wouldn't come back, but she didn't scold you like the other times she would, not when you were on the verge of passing out from pain

- ann wouldn't say much the first fifteen minutes or so of your injured arrival, trying to do whatever she could to help with her limited resources, demanding hatter that she needed practically everything from the medical supplies

- after a while, she would eventually speak up quietly once she had helped clean you up the best she could, "don't do that again."

- at first, you thought she was going to scold you again like the previous times, but instead she reached and grabbed ahold of your hands, "i don't want to lose you." she would say barely loud enough for you to hear

- ann was never the type to say things like that, only if the two of you were alone and she knew no one else could hear but it still wasn't often, but to hear it from her after coming back injured badly, you knew even if she doesn't say it, she did love and care about you

- if you passed out from the pain she would try her best to remain calm, telling herself that you'll wake up and everything will be fine, but it's noticeable by her tone with everyone else that she's far from calm about this

- she wouldn't join another game until she knew you had woken up and were okay, constantly checking on you and checking your pulse to make sure you're alive, always letting out a sigh of relief when she could feel your heart still beating

- the longer you don't wake up, the more worried she becomes to the point where she just stays hold up in the room with you, telling the other executives to not bother her until you do wake up, trying not to think the worst but it's difficult to when you're really the only person she cares about

- whenever you do wake up, she is extremely relieved that you're okay and makes sure you're able to recover fast enough before your visa runs out, trying to act normal but it's clear she had been freaking out when you weren't awake

- after you've recovered, ann becomes quite more protective of you and actually shows it more when around the others at the beach, not hesitating to speak up if someone suggests splitting people up for games and making sure to keep an eye on you when in games, not wanting a repeat of what happened

Usagi Yuzuha:

- the second usagi finds you or you find her and she sees how badly hurt you are, she's quickly rushing to your side and helping you sit down to rest

- you're the one thing she's living for now, so to see you injured badly enough where you could barely walk, she was extremely worried if you would recover before your visa expired

- so she would try and help you recover as fast as possible, making sure you eat and sleep enough, maybe raiding a pharmacy to get you medicine if it's there and cleaning whatever wounds you may have

- it really depends on how injured you are of how she will react and freak out, but for this case, it's pretty bad, so she freaks out easily whenever you're asleep for one minute too long or you're breathing becomes uneven, knowing without certain medical care you could possibly die

- that's why when you pass out, she freaks out more than ever, trying to do whatever she can to help you wake up and if nothing is working then she'll just try and calm down, try, it doesn't really work no matter how hard she tries

- usagi might try and get more food while you're unconscious so that way when you wake up you can eat something to hopefully help you though without pain meds it wouldn't be much work

- if she came back from getting food and you weren't awake still, she would then start to get worried if you even would wake up, trying to wake you in some way

- if she came back and you were already awake, she would be incredibly happy to see you moving, but would tell you to still rest and not move around a lot in case you accidentally hurt yourself more in some way

- usagi basically becomes like a mom when you're injured, telling you to rest, making sure you sleep enough and eat every day, and worry for you deeply

- she can't stand seeing you in pain which is why she tries to help you recover as fast as possible, sticking by your side in case something were to happen

- she wouldn't participate in any games while you recover, only going if that day was her last day but returning to you immediately after to make sure you're still okay

- if you had to complete a game either way, you're visa soon expiring, usagi would go with you and stay with you every second, not wanting you to get more hurt and hoping you don't get a spades game knowing it would make your recovery slower

- after you've recovered, she would make sure you don't go into games alone even if it isn't her just someone that you two knew would be enough, checking up on you and asking if you're okay and telling you to remember to rest even if you aren't injured

Kano Mira:

- much like ann, mira is not one to freak out over many things, if not everything, so don't expect her to lose her cool if you come to her injured

- of course, she can't tell you that eventually you will have to face her in her own game, so she will act concerned about you, but she does want you to live

- so the moment you find her, wherever the hell she is, part of her is feigning concern while another small part is being genuine about being worried for you, asking what happened and if you're okay even if you're obviously not

- mira isn't one to feel very guilty or scold people, so don't assume she will feel bad about letting you complete games alone, she doesn't really care, if you die, she might be upset for a minute, but will go back to normal soon

- but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about you at least a little bit, she does, she just shows it in odder ways than normal people would

- she might end up making you become dependent on her, saying how you shouldn't join games without her or one of the executives with you because she would be "heartbroken" if you ended up dying in one of the games

- mira wants you to live, of course, but for that to happen it would mean that she has to die, and she often has inner battles with herself on what to do at times like that when you come back severely injured to the point of passing out, but she always falls back to trying to spend her time with you as best as she could

- does she love you? it's unclear at times, but if you pass out from pain, then you might realize she does, even if it's just a little bit, she does by how she reacts when you do lose consciousness

- her eyes would go wide when your eyes close and you aren't responding anymore, taking you to one of the rooms in the beach and setting you on the bed before sitting next to you trying not to freak out

- mira doesn't have to compete in games anyways technically, so she would end up staying with you while you're unconscious, leaving every now and then to talk with the other executives or kuzuryu

- whenever you wake up, mira most likely isn't there. whether it's because she's doing executive matters or the second stage has started, she probably won't be there but she will find you immediately after she's done doing whatever she's doing unless the second stage started, then you might never see her again

- if you awoke when the second stage started, she might've written a short note of sorts saying how no matter what happens she wants you to live and that one day, she will see you again, just maybe not when you're living

- if you woke up before the second stage, then mira would find you and be so relieved that you're alright and that you weren't dead, even if it seems like she's faking it, she's not

Heiya Akane:

- the king of spades wasn't a very fun game, not when at any moment you could be shot down, like this moment where the worst possible case did happen, you getting shot

- the second you hit the ground akane is freaking out, blood quickly soaking the ground beneath you with her frantically trying to figure out what to do

- just the thought of losing you was enough to get her to cry, so actually seeing you get shot definitely caused her to tear up, but not cry just yet

- she didn't bother trying to fight the king of spades after you got shot, instead grabbing you and dragging you the best she could to safety and hiding in a building with you

- "you fucking idiot! what the hell were you trying to do?!" akane would say to you, quickly ripping off a piece of your shirt and pressing down on the wound

- "it's alright." you try to say before she just shakes her head and continuing to put pressure on the gunshot wound

- "this is far from alright and you know it." she whispered quietly, tears silently starting to fall, "i don't- i can't lose you, not like this."

- to be honest, nothing you say would help reassure her. sure, you might not die from this bullet, but it was a big enough chance she didn't want to take, besides, aguni would be fine killing the king of spades alone, you both knew that

- if you end up passing out from the gunshot...she freaks out more, shaking you and repeating your name trying to wake you up while crying at the same time and still hiding

- eventually aguni finds you both and just kinda stares for a second before sighing and picking you up and taking you back to where you three had made a little camp area

- akane doesn't have a clue what to do with things like this, for one, you're the only person she genuinely cares about and wants to survive, two, she didn't pay attention in health class a lot and so she didn't know how to help, and three, if you were to die then she would give up on it all

- she doesn't leave your side the whole time, just sitting next to you silently as aguni tried to get food and kill the king of spades at the same time so she could watch you in case you woke up or the king arrived, probably talking to you as if you could hear her about random bullshit

- when you do wake up, she ends up crying again because she honestly thought you were going to die without the right medical attention, hugging you tightly and muttering "don't do that shit again." but still crying

- after you've recovered, akane is not leaving your side for one second, it doesn't matter. the thought of you dying or leaving her in some way honestly haunts her daily in the borderlands so she's become a little personal bodyguard for you, how fun

SPECIALTY. Spade games aren’t quite your thing, as strength isn’t your strong suit. Diamond games aren’t either, as under such pressure that the games bring on, you found that you couldn’t think straight. Heart games will never be a game you specialize in, as those games brings you too much hurt and make your head spin. Clubs just might be the place where you shine—going through the games stressed you out, sometimes to the point of losing your focus, and having others with you helped pull you back to the task at hand. You felt the strongest when working with others in the games.

CLOSEST FRIENDS. Arisu, Usagi, Kuina, Chishiya.

PERSONALITY. You’re rather timid, to be quite honest. It isn’t the best trait to have in such a violent, killing, place, but you have other sides of you. In games, you’re afraid—no doubt about it. That doesn’t mean that determination doesn’t run through you like electric currents. You can hold your ground, because maybe, fear is what keeps you alive. In some ways, it keeps you steady. Allows you to avoid what should be avoided, and to be cautious. It surely could take ahold of you too tightly sometimes, resulting in situations you would rather not be a part of.

In the eyes of your friends, you’re too pure to be in the borderlands. You have your sass, but that didn’t change the fact that at heart, you would always be too angelic to have blood staining your skin and school uniform. You were too young to be tainted with such memories. You didn’t trust too easy, though. That was good. Not many could be trusted in the borderlands.

note : this will probably have a part two idk it depends...... AND THIS IS MY FIRST CHISHIYA FIC SO EXPECT SOME OOC CHISHIYA..... [ frustrated groan ] also fem reader

everything was chaotic, and luckily, the three of you found an, kuina, aguni and also heiya. there were only two games left. two more games. you'll surely get back to the real world.

“ oh i almost forgot, my good luck charm! ” kuina said, getting something from her pocket.

it was a bomb that chishiya made. you remember him giving you one too.

chishiya.

and arisu came up with a plan, luring the king of spade and using it at a close range. and you liked the idea.

and with usagi, kuina, an, heiya, and aguni they'll be the bait.

“ i'm going…too. ” you said, frowning. usagi smiled.

“ we'll do this together! ” she says, with a confident smile.

you didn't know if arisu's plan succeeded, but you heard an explosion somewhere, so the plan went good, probably.

you couldn't focus, all you can feel was the overflowing pain, in your lower abdomen. yeah. the king of spades stabbed you.

and you couldn't move, the pain hurted like a bitch. you just wanted to end this. after all, it was just one game? is it?

many hours passed, it was getting dark, you were thinking about chishiya. is he alright? oh god. you hope that he makes it out alive.

and oh, you remember that time.

“ what if we get seperated by the time this game almost ends? ” you asked him.

he chuckled, “ i'm sure, we can recognize each other anywhere. ”

you giggled, “ we're one souls, in two bodies. are we? ”

he patted your head, “ yeah. we are. ”

a small memory popping up after the wind. a deep echo in your ear.

your warm tears starts falling on your cold cheeks, not even realizing.

like a shining star in a pitch darkness, we can recognize each other anywhere.

that radiant moment will bloom forever, like a PANORAMA.

“ chishiya. . . ” you stop.

the green hill, the campfire at night before participating in games, you miss those time with him.

so precious, and you'll cherish them all.

“ we're meant to be one, like the first moment we met, my heart beats fast. ”

you'll make a way out of here in borderlands with him. you're sure of it.

from the outside you and Chishiya were friends, but nothing more in your friends' eyes, they thought you got into disputes far too easily to tolerate each other in a loving way. to them you were this cheerful and bubbly person who was always ready to help others despite what people warned, and from their point of view Chishiya was this cold, stoic and on occasion brooding man who held little empathy for anyone but himself. but this was of course their view. to you Chishiya was significantly different. sure, he still harbored the traits that others viewed him as but he also had more caring ones. when it was just the two of you he wasn't exactly bouncing off the walls and hugging you till you couldn't breathe, but he was more open and relaxed. he let you hug him and kiss him wherever you pleased and he was more comfortable showing you physical affection. he'd always ask if you'd remembered to eat or drink anything that day and if not he would cook your favorite meal. at least twice a week he fed into your obsession with little trinkets he'd see on his way home from work, it made his day more bearable when it ended with your smile. to you, Chishiya was your caring boyfriend. which is why you had to hide it. you both knew that if found out you would in turn receive endless amounts of teasing from your mutual friends. especially Kuina.

unfortunately your friend group was together almost every day of the week so you rarely got alone together unless you snuck away somewhere which was definitely not meant to be used as a secret meet up spot. so when Chota and Karube invited you and the others to a party, you and your secret lover declined for separate reasons. there was no way you weren't taking advantage of this chance to be alone. you had texted the group chat saying you were sick and at home while Chishiya had said he was out of town for personal reasons, which wasn't technically a lie on his part.

"peace, finally" you muttered as you shuffled into Chishiya more, your head rested between his neck and shoulder while he had an arm around you to ensure you stayed close. "they better not blow up my phone" you chuckled and refocused your attention to the t.v where a film of Chishiya's choice was playing but soon got distracted and started to fidget with his hands, occasionally you pulled one toward your face so you could lay a kiss on the back of his hand. times like these were the ones you truly cherished.

as the hours ticked by you felt yourself getting sleepy, the repetitive dialogue on the t.v and the slight buzz your boyfriend's cologne gave your head wasn't helping you stay awake. the comforting feeling of having him around didn't help you to stay conscious either. soon the urge to sleep overpowered your body and Chishiya could feel you drifting off on top of him. he lowered the volume on the television for your comfort and pulled a blanket over you both so you wouldn't be cold. Shuntaro never really imagined himself being so lucky. everyone always called him cold and incapable of love, which was in fact a lie. he just showed it differently, which you knew and were okay with. he was immensely grateful that you let him show his adoration for you the way he preferred.

the light of the day was fading and along with it Chishiya's will to stay awake. you had only been passed out for around half an hour so he didn't need to worry about you waking up. so with you tucked up in his hold he let himself fall asleep with you, his head falling to rest on top of yours. when you both awoke to what you assumed to be morning but were instead met with flashing phone cameras you were stunned and a little frustrated to say the least.

"Chishiya, what are you doing to Y/n!" Arisu slurred, clearly more than a little tipsy from the way he was holding himself. "he's cuddling them, that's what he's doing!" Tatta had pushed himself to the front of the huddle just to yell, "are you guys boning?!" Usagi slapped his arm and sent a distasteful glare his way. "don't be so vulgar!"

"okay then, are you guys 'making love'!" Chishiya stared at his flushed friend in disgust and rolled his eyes when they all insisted on an answer from him. "no, we are not boning or making love. we're dating you morons."

silence followed Chishiya's bold statement. everybody stared at each other with wide eyes. the awkward stillness was interrupted when Kuina burst out laughing, the voracity of her cackles almost tipped her over. "okay, good one, Chishiya!" others followed suit after realizing it was a joke. most doubling over in lung aching laughter. "oh my god, man! you almost got me!"

"c'mon guys, let's leave this endearing couple alone!" what they failed to realize was that this was in fact not a joke, and was quite a real relationship. you both stared in shock as your group of drunk friends stumbled out the door and slammed it behind them.

"did they just leave….?"

"It seems that way, yes."
