It's in the middle of the night. I have never been the person who has problems sleeping through the night. Even the biggest noises couldn't stop me from slumbering soundly. In summer, I can leave the windows open and listen to the buzzing and singing of the insects without a care in the world until I drift off into dreamland. Wind and weather don't stop me either. You could say that my body is able to adapt to all the conditions of my environment. So ... even now, when I realize in my sleep that something - more someone - is missing next to me.
I've noticed it all along. Even when I met Niragi again, I had the feeling that he had changed. Not in terms of his appearance- at least that was never the deciding factor for me. Admittedly, when I saw him again for the first time after the witch hunt, I was ... shocked. Because of several aspects. His scars - his burnt skin - was one thing, but seeing him again when I once thought he ... would no longer be with us, that was the crux of my reaction. That I drew in a startled breath. That I looked at him in shock and, of course, in tears, which I had swallowed at that moment. I was ... simply happy. To see that he was still alive.
Anyway, this is the first time I've had to open my eyes in the middle of the night because my body couldn't adapt to my surroundings during sleep. As soon as I went to bed, I had a feeling that something was wrong with Niragi. And it looks like I'm about to find out whether my gut feeling was right or not. Deep down, I already know the answer, but I want to hear it from him. I want him to tell me what's going on in his head right now. How he feels. What is bothering him. If something is bothering him.
Looking thoughtfully at my partner's side of the bed, I gradually start to move, hoping it won't take me long to find him. So, sighing and wearily brushing my hair out of my face, I get up and put one foot in front of the other to look for Niragi, who apparently hasn't even bothered to really hide.
"Niragi, what's wrong?" I rub one of my eyes sleepily and look just as sleepily at the boy standing on the balcony of the building where we've set up camp today. "Come back to bed, it's still pitch dark."
"I can sleep when I'm dead." It's not that I wouldn't expect him to say something like that- but what worries me is the way he says it.
Instead of saying anything, however, I just stand still for a moment and stare over at him. He doesn't even dare to turn towards me when we talk. I don't know him like this at all.
"I'm worried about you," you say in a calm tone as you walk towards him, aiming to stand next to him so you can look over the rooftops of the city with him. "Somehow I don't recognize you anymore," you continue, "where's the Niragi I met at the beach? The one with the big mouth and the high self-confidence, with the will of a leader?" Silence.
A moment later, all I hear is a hysterical giggle, which was obviously not the result of amusement or mirth. No, it sounded ... forced ... and hurt at the same time.
"He's been burned." Such a simple answer, but one with such great significance. "You should really go back to bed now."
"I'm not going anywhere." Determined, I now walk the last few meters towards him, after which I stand next to him. "Not without you." Unlike what I had planned, however, I don't stand so that I can see the loss, dark surroundings, but so that I am facing Niragi directly. "I knew something was wrong with you. I could tell by looking at you. Even yesterday, when you wished me a good night, your eyes betrayed you- so please don't pretend you don't care." Pause. "You are a human being. Not a robot."
"I'm a monster, Y/N!", he yelled at me and I jumped back a little because he turned around so suddenly and unexpectedly to finally look me in the face. "I can't even understand how you could even look at me on the street without throwing up right at my feet!" But just as quickly as he hit the ceiling, he quickly calmed down again.
I am sad. Is that really what he thinks? Does he really see himself as he has just described? As a monster? Oh, I'd love to ask what makes him think that, but I won't. I know the reason. His burns. The scars Chishiya left on him are the reason he speaks so poorly of himself. And it hurts. It hurts to know that a person in whom you see everything wonderful and whom you love for who he is, thinks of himself like that.
"Oh, darlin', that's not true ..." I realize how pitiful I'm looking at him right now, the softer his features become and the more he shows his mental pain to the outside world. "Please, don't say that ... Scars don't make you a monster."
"Just tell me how you can look at me like that without being afraid of me. How you ... how you can hold me in your arms without being disgusted by my skin. Without worrying about hurting me or feeling the need to puke your soul o-" I don't want to hear about that.
I understood the question. He wants answers? He'll get them. My way. The way in which I don't let him speak, but simply put one of my arms loosely around his neck to pull him into a loving kiss that for just a moment - a brief moment - is supposed to make the world stop for him.
Something that seems to work well. At least he abruptly matches my rhythm and wraps his arms around my waist to press me closer to him. To be able to feel me even better. To feel that he is not alone. Will not be alone. And to feel that there is someone who can be there for him and wants to be there.
I ... have to admit that no kiss with him was as beautiful as this one. Niragi is a rough person. He gets what he wants, his kisses were molded to his personality. Ungentle. Lots of tongue and especially biting. All the more reason for me to enjoy the kiss we're sharing right now, because who knows if I will ever experience this again.
Nevertheless, you should stop where it gets most beautiful. Although the really nice part - for him - is probably only now. One answer. An answer that will answer all his questions in one fell swoop.
"I love you," I breathe to him, tilting my head a little to the side as I look up at him and into his eyes. "That's why I can do all this, Niragi, it ... It's not as complicated and complex as you might have thought." I gave him a little smile and I can see it in his face- he's smiling a little, too. "And now come back to bed. You need to rest a bit and give your injuries a treatment. And by the way ... I'm tired and want to go back to sleep." Laughter, which only comes from me, but that's okay- his smile is enough for me. "Plus, I'm in desperate need of a good cuddle from you right now." Now, I can hear him chuckle a little and damn, it's the most beautiful I could ever hear coming out from him.
After another peck on the lips from him, I take him by the hand and walk him back into the building, where a place to sleep is waiting for us. In passing, I hear him say "I don't deserve you ...", which was probably only meant for him. But ...
"If everyone only got what they deserved, they couldn't possibly be happy in their lives, don't you think?"

Let’s act like I didn’t dissapeared for 2 months 💀 btw this chapter turned hella long
(English isn’t my first language so feel free to correct any mistakes you notice)
•Characters: Suguru Niragi, fem!Reader
•Genre: smut
•Warnings: sexual content, explicit content, voyerism, violence (not towards reader), reader is a brainless horny bitch
Let’s give him a show
*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*:・゚*:・゚✧*
While I watch the sun slowly sinking I wait patiently for Niragi to finish his daily patrol. I sit on the edge of a pool, my ankles in the cold water, as I think about what he might has in mind for tonight. Niragi is for sure a freak, but he never leaves me unsatisfied. Maybe I’m just as crazy as he is but who can blame me? How am I supposed to stay sane in a world where I see more murders than in a splatter movie?
„Hello there“, I hear a voice right after I feel strong hands on my shoulders. I look up and see Niragi with an amused smile on his lips.
„What took you so long?“ I ask him while standing up. His smile turns I to a grin as I start to play with the few open buttons of his shirt. „I set up a little surprise for you.“
His hands find my waist and I feel myself melting beneath his touch. „A surprise?“ Niragi nods, then lets go of me and starts walking with me towards the entrance. „There was a guy, feeling the need to act up on me.“ His grin gets wider with every step we go. „Do you remember this whiny guy with those ugly ass teeth?“
Even though I immediately know who he is talking about, I act like I have to think first, playing right into his little game.
„Oh, you mean the guy I used to fuck before I met you? My ex?“ I eventually say after stepping into the elevator, eyes glued to his amused grin.
„Exactly“, he confirms. „I remember he wasn’t too pleased that you dumped his ass.“ I only nodded, waiting for him to continue but he seems to have fun adding those dramatic paused between his words.
„Well, I overheard him telling his friends besides missing you, that he could make you feel so much better than I can.“ I raise my eyebrow. „So he didn’t ‚act up‘?“ Caught in his little lie, Niragi only rolls his eyes. „It’s basically the same thing“, he states, while we walk out the elevator, not further irritated by my statement. „So I thought we can show him how wrong he is. We put on a little show for him.“
I stop, looking at him in disbelief. Not the bad type of disbelieve though. I would lie if I’d say this idea isn’t turning me on. It’s not the first time we would have sex while people are watching, public sex is more than common here, but it would be the first time that we would have sex directly in front of someone, wanting them to watch. I feel my cheeks burning and my mouth hanging a bit open.
„Is the idea so bad?“ Niragi asks. „I can tell the other to kick him out again, I just thought it might be fun.“ He shrugs his shoulders not showing if he would be disappointed if I’d say no. I catch myself quickly again and walk up to him, grabbing his hand. „It’s a wonderful idea.“
Niragis eyes seem to sparkle at my reaction and with a short glance down, I can see that not only his eyes reacted. I take the lead and guide him quickly to his room. Before he opens the door, he put on his typical grin again, already seeming much more intimidating again. Then he opens the door and my eyes meet with the guy he talked about, tied down to a chair and being guarded by two other militants.
„Hello again“, Niragi says, laughing at the sight. I quickly enter the room, he then closes the door and steps behind me, sneaking one arm around my waist, the other one holds the gun, pointed at the tied up guy. „You two can go. I can handle that alone from now on.“ Without answering the other two guys leave the room.
„It’s going to be a show just for you“, Niragi starts to tease the guy again, poking him with his rifle. „Since you think I wouldn’t be able to please her as good as you, we figured we would just show it to you.“ He lets go of me, nodding to the bed. My sign to move to there. While I sit down, the eyes of the guy are glued on me and I look back, smiling innocently at him. My excitement grows with every second.
Slowly Niragi walks around the chair, stopping behind it and then pushing it a bit more near to the bed. Then he grabs a fistful of the black hair from the guy in front of him and pulling it back, so he is forced to look up. He tries to scream, but the duct tape muffles his voice. „I don’t even know your name“, Niragi coos, tilting his head slightly. „How do you like rat? Or pervert? Perverted rat?“ Completely enjoying himself he lets go of rats hair and walks back around to be in front of him again. „You my friend“, he starts to explain what’s about to happen. „Will watch me fucking (Y/n)s brains out, while you sit here with your little broken heart and watch every fucking move I make.“
Shivers start to run down my spine and slowly but surely I am getting impatient. „Strip“, Niragi suddenly says, now sitting next to the chair. „Show us your perfect body.“
Without hesitating I start feeling for the knot, holding my bikini top together at my back. I find it and start to pull slowly on the strings. Now the red piece of fabric is only held up by the strings around my neck, but still covering up some parts of my breasts. I stop, thinking about what to put off first, my top or the bottoms, but I decide to continue with my top and push it slowly over my head, revealing my boobs completely.
I see how Niragi is fighting to keep it together, obviously wanting to get up and rip off my panties, just to fuck me senseless, but he continues to sit patiently. With a small glance to the guy in the chair he makes sure that he is still looking in my direction.
„Look at her“, he coos. „See those perfect breasts? They’re all mine.“ My heart and core ache as a reaction. I continue with my little strip tease and take off my panties too, throwing them next to the bed. Slowly I start to let my hands roam over my body. First to my breasts and then slowly further down. I part my legs, my shame is long gone, and reveal my wet pussy to the men in front of me.
„Tell me what makes you so wet baby?“, Niragi asks me teasingly. „The way you look at me“, I respond, dragging my fingers through my folds. „The hunger in your eyes“, I continue as I lean back on my arms. „Play a bit with yourself. Make yourself feel good.“ I do as he told me and put my fingers on my clit. When I finally find the perfect speed and pressure I throw my head back with a moan.
My eyes are closed as I’m rubbing my clit, enjoying every bit of it. Who thought masturbating in front of a guy I can’t stand would be so exciting? The mattress shifts and as I open my eyes I see Niragi sitting next to me. I grab his hand, guiding it to my pussy, hungry for his touch.
„Look at that“, he whispers, looking back to the rat while sliding his fingers inside. „So desperate for my touch.“ The guys eyes are burning with hate. As quickly as Niragi started, he also stopped again, drawing a needy whine from me. I hear him chuckle and then I feel his hands on my thighs turning me to the right, so that I’m I’m no longer facing the rat. Niragi lies down on his stomach, parting my legs again. „Now watch how easy it is for me to drive her crazy.“ With that I feel his tongue on my clitoris, licking and sometimes adding pressure with his tongue piercing.
Curious about how the rat looks like while watching me getting eaten out by another guy I turn my head and look at him. Even though his eyes still try to kill Niragi, his dick is rock hard. I turn my head again and with a loud moan I demonstrate how good Niragi is making me feel. I run my hands through his raven locks and grab a fistful of it. Normally he wouldn’t tolerate this behavior but he is too lost in the act to care.
My moans are getting louder and I’m near my peak and for once Niragi is nice to me and doesn’t stop. After the wave of pleasure slowly faded I look back into Niragis eyes. A smug grin and proud expression is glued to his face as he slowly turns his head to the guy next to us.
„Number one“, he whispers and I can’t help but smile even wider, because counting means I’m going to have another one. And another. And another.
After Niragi has sat up again, now kneeling on the bed, he takes my left leg and props it on his shoulder. Fingertips grazing my legs, leaving goosebumps behind, travel slowly up to my pulsating core.
I just can’t get enough of him.
When his hand hovers over my pussy he pauses. „Tell me what you want baby“, he whispers, planting light kisses on my leg. „Tell us.“
A short glance of mine goes to the rat before I concentrate on Niragi again. „Your fingers“, I whine. „Deep inside me.“
To my surprise no begging is needed. For now at least. His long fingers find their way between my folds and slide inside my pussy. As soon as he’s knuckle-deep inside me he starts to bend his fingers, hitting my g-spot right away.
With a loud moan I signal him that he‘s making me feel good. Only a few seconds later his other hand finds my pussy too, rubbing over my clit.
This must be what heaven is like.
My second orgasm washes over me rather quickly and for a second I feel like the room is spinning.
„Number two“, Niragi informs the other man. He helps me sit up surprisingly gentle and looks into my eyes, almost as if he looks for any discomfort.
Quickly I discard this thought again. I’m obviously still with my head in the clouds.
„Damn, she’s far gone“, Niragi laughs. „And I didn’t even undressed yet.“ He‘s right, I realize.
„Let’s change that, shall we?“ What a stupid question. Normally I would roll my eyes at that but I don’t dare to do anything bratty right now, too scared his kindness will fade if I upset him. So I only nod, eyes glued to him as he slowly unbuttons his shirt.
I look at him like a dog, waiting for a treat as he finally opens his pants. In fact, I, in some way, am a dog waiting for a treat.
„Imma give your fucked out mind a little break, sounds good?“ It doesn’t but I nod anyways, knowing obeying will be rewarded eventually. „On the floor“, he commands and when I crawled in front of him he takes off his pants completely, letting them pool around his ankles.
I feel the look of the guy behind me burning into my back. Seems like behaving like a horny bitch does the job.
„See that? She would do anything for me.“ I can basically hear Niragis mischievous grin as he speaks to my ex. „Did she ever sucked you?“ A look over my shoulder shows me that he is shaking his head no, finally realizing it’s better if you answer if Niragi asks you something.
Niragis cock distracted me so much that I didn’t even realized that he had picked up his gun again, pointing it at the man in front of him.
He tangles the fingers of his free hand in my hair, putting a few strands behind my ear. Then he pushes my head a bit down. „Come on baby, suck it.“
Without further ado I open my mouth and take him inside. I gag as he hit the back of my throat, but by now I’m mostly used to it so it isn’t bothering me any further.
„Fuck“, Niragi moans. „She’s amazing.“ His praise goes straight to my core and while I blow him I start to grind down, searching for friction. A laugh mixed with another moan escapes Niragis throat. „Your little cunt can’t go five minutes without needing attention?“ He tugs at my hair, letting me know he wants me to stand up again. „It’s about you today. I want him to see how you fall apart.“
Yepp. Definitely heaven.
I crawl back on the bed and lay down on my stomach, ass up high. „That’s right. Give us a nice few of your ass, baby.“ Niragi says, slapping my butt so hard that I gasp.
Muffled shouts echo trough the room, coming from the tied up guy, who is obviously not really happy about the slap Niragi gave me, but he on the other hand just laughs.
„Don’t worry“, he says amused. „She’s into that. Honestly I thought you knew that since you can please her so good.“ His fingers sliding slowly trough my folds again, showing my ex that I am indeed enjoy the hard side of fucking Niragi.
„You know the saying: three‘s the charm.“ And with that I can finally feel Niragis hands on my hips again, pulling me back to him. But instead of pushing right into me, he starts to tease me with the tip of his dick, drawing circles around my hole. „Look at him, doll. I bet he is dying to know how your face looks when your filled with my cock“, Niragi whispers with a low tone in my ear, making shivers running down my spine.
I turn my head and look right into my ex-boyfriends brown eyes. His expression is filled with hate and rage and for some reason this gets me even wetter. A sigh escapes my lungs when I finally feel Niragi pushing in to me, never breaking eye contact with the man on the chair. Usually he rams his cock inside me, but today he is taking his time, making sure to savour tue moment, and the boiling rage of the rat.
As soon as his balls hit my pelvis it’s over with the slow and sensual acting and he starts ramming his cock inside me like he always does.
And fuck - I love it.
My eyes stay where they were, taking in how the poor guy is squirming around, not sure if he should look away or try to find a way to get off of the sight in front of him. Either way he suffers and it would shock me how much I enjoy this sight, if I were able to think straight.
But my ability to think is quite limited right now, since the only thing I can concentrate on is the way Niragi hits that sweet spot all over again, and how his finger is dancing on my clit. I moan without even paying attention what exactly comes out of my mouth.
„Niragi“ I moan as I feel the knot in my stomach. „I’m close. Please.“ Niragis rhythm gets sloppier, which leads me to the conclusion that he is close too. „Go ahead babygirl. Don’t hold back.“
That’s all I needed to hear. It’s like my body waited for those words, because right after he finished his sentence, I feel the wave of pleasure breaking over me, turning me into a moaning mess. And it took Niragi right with it, who cums with a load groan inside me.
My head is spinning and my body is tingling as I come down from my high. „And number three“, Niragi whispers proudly, already up on his feet again.
With his gun in his hand he walks up to the chair. „Now what? What should I do with you?“ He glances shortly to me before turning his head again. „You know what? You’re a lucky guy. After that amazing session I am in a very good mood.“
He walks around the chair like a lion watching his prey. Then he picks up his boxershorts from the floor, puts them back on, walks up to the door and opens it.
The other two guys must have wait, because Niragi yells out the door: „Get the bastard out of my face.“ They don’t even bother to untie him first. One of them just grabs the back of the chair and drags him out of the room.
„You’re insane“, I whisper tiredly, as Niragi climbs back in bed to me. „I know“, he replies. „And you’re ducking into that.“
I don’t answer, instead I just roll over and let my head rest on his chest. And this time he doesn’t push me away. Maybe he isn’t that cold as he always acts.

King of hearts, chishiya x reader
Warnings: gore, violence, niragi (implied attempted assuault), drugs
Please put on a set of handcuffs and take your seat behind the table.
Kuina approached the plaque, waiting for you. She was in no state to have her hands restricted, having cleared the Jack of spades recently the flimsy bandages you wrapped around her arms could fall apart any moment. You stared at the handcuffs.
“I can do this.”
She understood, offering a good luck hug as she descended down the stairs, waving at you one more time. It was hardly believable that she could kick your ass in seconds when she looked this adorable.
Only two sets of handcuffs remained on the table when you had approached it. You struggled a bit with restraining your left hand, prompting you to use the table as a support. They locked into place with a mechanical click. The game venue was a penthouse. With the posh furniture and extravagant accents it reminded you of The Beach. The entrance was a hallway in a U shape, splitting off into two directions, a balcony and further into the apartment itself. Trying the balcony door, you had no luck. It still had a modern look to it although some of nature had tried to break through the glass panes, it seemed untouched by the Borderlands so far. Screens decorated most of the walls, with arrows guiding you towards what you presumed was the table instructions mentioned. You needed to make a mental note of the layout before following them. The apartment consisted of two bedrooms joined to their respective walk-in closets and bathrooms as well as a game room main feature of which was a set up pool table.
Amidst your search the familiar feminine robotic voice announced: “Registration now closed. Game will begin shortly.”
The shelves were full of liquor bottles. Reaching for one of them you checked them for expiration date or the year they were made, which was absent, as to be expected. You checked the drawers under them, thanks to your brief time spent with Niragi you recognized the smell of cannabis, making it easy to conclude what was in the other packages.
“Excuse me.” A girl dressed in a uniform-like dress passed you, brushing against your shoulder. She had a shaved head and a backpack thrown over her right shoulder. She must be the last contestant. With your pre-game routine finished, you followed soon after her.
The room unveiling before you was an open area with another entrance to the balcony. Similar shelves as to ones in the game room surrounded a giant screen with the familiar words: GAME. You sat down. Behind the table were eight contestants, excluding you. One seat remained vacant. To your right sat a woman in her early thirties, hair slicked back into a bun held by a clip matching in the cherry red color to her nails. The empty seat was the head of the table to your left, the other was occupied by an older woman in a denim dress. Pair of men noticed your presence, whispering something before one spoke up.
“She was at The Beach.”
He nudged his friend and leaned forwards, putting his hands under his chin. The girl that entered before you sat two seats to the right at the opposite end of the table. Her backpack awkwardly behind her as she sat on the edge of the chair.
“Game start”
The screen lit up simultaneously as the voice spoke the words.
“Game: Cops and Robbers
Difficulty: King of Hearts
Time limit: 24 hours
Weapons not allowed.”
Time limit 24 hours? That explains the beds and stockpile of alcohol and food. You took another glance at your opponents, three of them grew nervous with the mention of time, interesting. Your train of thought was halted by spotting a familiar white jacket out of the corner of your eye. Chishiya Shuntaro. That bastard. A wave of disappointment washed over your body, seeping deep into your bones. Of course he would be so smug as to take on a King game. He just stood there, unbothered, looking at the screen. You told yourself he was dead. He was dead, that's why he never showed up. That's why he didn't respond to any messages left at game sites by Kuina or you. Not wanting to look at him a second longer, the focus was shifted to the screen again. Yet you felt all your emotions centered at the blonde asshole leaning against the wall. What little shown of his face illuminated in white light revealed the heavy eye bags under his feline-like eyes.
“Rules:
- Keep the robber, the king, from taking off his handcuffs. If he takes off his handcuffs it is game over for every cop.
-If a cop is in handcuffs by the end of the game, it is game over for them.
- Each player will be dealt five cards. Among these fifty cards there are ten cards with the combination for a key along with the handcuff number they correspond to. Imputing a wrong code results in Game Over. Ten contain information about players, ten are general statement cards which reveal a sentence truthful about one or more participants, ten are blank cards, ten are question cards to which the question must be answered truthfully. Failing to do so results in Game Over.
-If a participant leaves their seat during a round it is game over
-Once ten cards have been played the participants have freedom to move however they want, to continue playing all participants must sit at the table before the end of the break. Each break lasts one hour, if the time limit ends during a break it is game over for everyone.
-Key cards of a deceased participant shall be added to the participant following their turn, Information, Key card of numbers corresponding to deceased players, Truth, Blank and Statement cards will be rendered invalid, playing them results in game over. Playing another player's card also results in Game over.
-Game Clear, each of the cops have been freed and the robber-King of Hearts remains handcuffed.”
Chishiya took his seat as the rules finished being read.
A low whisper arose among the participants as the rules kept appearing. The game seemed simple enough, it is hearts after all. The real problem is the human aspect. You glanced at your handcuffs, 4. The lady next to you was 3 and the girl with the shaved head was 6 or 8. The two guys that sat together were probably 1st to arrive based on their seats. Furthest from the entrance. Chishiya had to have been here for a longer time too but the registration was not time limited so he might as well have arrived sooner than them. Based on how untouched the alcohol and what your perspective view of food supply allowed it couldn't have been more than a day since the last re-supply. Although this information somehow comforted you, the identity of the king could not be predicted based on numbers or their arrival.
“The round has now started, all participants must remain in their seats”
A cubical hole opened up before each seat, revealing a pack of given cards. The person opposite you, a bulky man in his fifties reached out for his pack, hesitantly everyone followed. Two truth cards, one key card number 6, one statement and one blank. You ignored him, but with a sort of bitter melancholic feeling. You wanted to look, to scream in his face that you and Kuina risked splitting from the group because of him. The game was more important though. It is best to act like you dont know eachother, he must have realized it, and you were not going to hinder his plan. He was your best bet on clearing the game.
“Lets just give every girl the key card, they cannot be the king” one of the beach guys suggested
The girl with the shaved head laughed in his face, leaning closer to him. “When was that in the rules?”
“Every game we have been to, the king is a man and the queen is a woman,” his friend retorted.
“Honey boy this is hearts. Anyone can be heartless” she paused “or be the King of them”
After a brief moment of silence, a girl with a loose ponytail raised a card, before she was interrupted by the man next to her, he reached for her forearm, placing one of his hands on her, and made a stop motion with his other one, although you could not see it well since he was on your side of the table, furthest from you.
“We should start with Statement and Information cards. Do not reveal any key cards until we know who is the king” the man stated with a matter of fact tone of voice.
The woman next to me nodded and shifted in her seat. The first card was played. Statement card. The girl with a loose ponytail carefully placed it in front of her.
“Two people in this room killed someone before entering the borderlands”
“Murders!” the woman next to me shrieked, taking a shaken breath. “One of them has to be King”
“Killing someone has no connection to being the King, just like being a man” you commented.
The two guys that recognized you from the beach leaned into one another, revealing their cards to each other.
“I am next,” The man in a business suit exclaimed, removing his cuffed hands from the girl. He placed down an information card.
“Yoko Suzuryu, age 17 is engaged to her teacher, a man 18 years her senior.”
You could just imagine the type of smirk that Chishiya had right now, one eyebrow slightly raised; amused and intrigued. He was often like that when he forced you to play cards or whatever with him. He mostly always won because you were distracted- he looked pretty like that.
The girl in the ponytail gasped, hands flying to her mouth “How did they-?”
“Got a type ei girl” the man opposite me laughed a breathy raspy laugh, clearly a smoker.
“It's okay darling, it's alright” The woman at the other head of the table comforted her. The girl sniffled and wiped her tears on her sleeve. The woman next to you placed another statement card.
“Three people in this room are smokers, one is trying to quit”
It was your turn next. The decision was either a blank or a statement, however you needed to think about your choice wisely, if you remained with the Key card until the end just like everyone else the end game would leave you to play it ultimately dooming the number 6 were it to be the King to win. That card has to remain with you until 6 is dead. Statement.
“One participant in this game has masturbated to another one while they slept in the same room”
What? Everyone at the table fell silent, choosing to ignore the statement, especially the boy duo from the beach.
One of them, the one wearing shorts and a button up shirt, played a Key card. Number 3, my neighbor jumped up and reached for the code.
“No!” The man in the business suit tried to stop her. A laser burnt through her head before she realized her fatal mistake. Her body slid onto the floor, blood pooling at the soles of my feet. Yoko, the girl now closest to me shrieked, moving her chair towards her neighbor.
She was number 3, which meant you got to take her cards, Key for 10 and 7…and invalid Truth along with an invalid Blank. Those two you pocketed. Perhaps a possible strategy is giving someone an invalid card to eliminate them.
“What the fuck Genji? Whaddya play the Key for man?” his friend raised his voice at him
“It's not girls, I'm telling you the king is a dude. I didn't know she was gonna leap for it like that” Genji defended himself.
The round ended with 6 statements, 2 sets of information and 1 of truth and blank each. The line up was as follows:
Yoko Suzuruyu, engaged to her teacher sitting inches from
Ryuji Sakamoto, former investment banker and father of two. His Information card revealed the following: Ryuji Sakamoto, age 43, is father to only one of his two children.
DECEASED
You
Genji, beach member, whose information card was: Genji Fudo, age 19, has been kicked out of his recreational volleyball team for being bisexual
Older woman who comforted Yoko
The man opposite of you
The other former beach member
Chishiya
“Right” Chishiya stated as he presented the empty card. “Shall we continue?”
“The round has now ended, all participants are free to leave their seats”
Yoko sprung from her chair running off to the bathroom, both Ryuji and the older woman followed after her. The man opposite you walked off towards the balcony, lighting a cigarette once turned away. The two men that recognized you from the beach struck up a conversation with you, one sitting in the space between you and Chishiya, the other one shifting in his spot as he tried to stand comfortably.
“So, how have you been since the beach ended?” Genji spoke “Are you still with that Arisu guy?”
“We got separated.” You responded in half truth to most of their questions, the other guy, the one still in a swimsuit was called Daichi. Both of them were in police academy.  Why have they not spoken to Chishiya? He was also an executive, and you two were often together…
“When did you guys join the beach?”
“Two days before the hearts game.” Daichi said.
That explains it, they had barely enough time to join the militants and get high. They decided to stop pestering you and after what seemed like the entire hour they walked off to get alcohol. You turned their offer of joining in, you saw alcohol as more of an escape than fun pastime activity.
The first time you drank in the borderlands Chishiya was there for you, that was the first time you felt like he truly did feel emotion, being so cold before even towards Kuina, that night and following day changed your opinion. The human elevator. You had survived by tying yourself to the elevator via a rope, not the best of strategies-it resulted in harsh burns across your arms. It had started with Niragi celebrating his game, as he put it finally good target practice, by chugging half a vodka bottle like water. Which was pretty impressive. He lost his shirt in the process. He sprawled on the seats in the VIP executive booth where you had been noting down the cards gained, you were number 4, responsible for the ledger of cards and number of duplicates. To be honest you had possibly the riskiest position when it came as far as executive duties went, sure Aguni was responsible for all militants but if there was a card missing after being collected you would be the prime suspect and trials were not a thing with Niragi around. That's how you ended up downing the rest of the bottle, trying to stay on his good side when you indulged his demands.
“Come on? That's all you can handle?” Niragi egged you on “One more come on”
He grabbed your hand harshly and forced a shot glass in your hand. You downed it, the taste becoming too much, your face scrunched up. “I need a mixer Niragi”
“Alright princess you go bless the Hatter with your little notes and Ill go grab you a drink” he stood up, shaking his head violently.
With a very unsteady walk you made it to Hatter's room, knocking, one of his bikini girls opened, calling him over. He took the thing, smiling widely as he realized your state. “Finally gave in?”
“Niragi forced me” you mumbled
“Enjoy the… night then” he winked and walked off.
When you came back Niragi was eyeing Usagi and Arisu who just stood at the edge of the crowd.
“Leave them be.” you sat back down, head already light and fuzzy.
Niragi pushed a green soda in your direction.
“Cheers” he said with a smirk, unaware of his gaze you downed the entire glass, it tasted slightly bitter but you had no clue what brand or sort of soda it was so you didn't comment on it.
You two talked about your games, Niragi stirred the conversation by talking about his gun and showing off his piercings.
“I think you should size them down a little, the one on your nose doesn't suit your face”
“Oh that is the wrong size of mine you should worry about” he sneered, looking around. The crowd was just getting wild, so it must have been right before midnight when you passed out.
“Up we go”
With that, you were holding onto his shoulders as he carried you to your room. The thoughts in your head were blurred, you were aware of your surroundings well enough that when you saw Chishiya passing by you threw Niragir's hand off and came up to Chishiya instead. Niragi rolled his eyes, deciding it was not worth it. Chishiya was the biggest bother of all to him, and as much as he would love to see him pissed off he turned around and went back hunting.
There is not much you remember from the morning after, you woke up and took whatever pill Chishiya left on your bedside table. He was sleeping soundly in an armchair next to your bed.  He cared enough to make you able to function that day. Of course you realized what Niragi was trying to do, and as pathetic as it sounds you were not about to confront him, he caused riots unprompted so a tantrum from being called out was not something anyone needed. When Chishiya awoke he made small talk, went to get you some food and came back. Not once during the day he tried to leave.
“You know, this makes me think you actually tolerate me.” you joked with him.
“I have your Key card” you turned to him.
“And nothing to say to me apparently” he replied.
“8593” you read the numbers to him. He stood up, one hand in his pocket. “Lets go”
You followed suit, approaching the number 10 vault. “We thought you were dead, I thought you died Chishiya.”
Your defeated confession did not phase him at all. He was focused on making the vault open.
“Then you underestimate me”
“Bullshit, you know what this is about.” you raised your voice, lowering it when you became aware of how thin the walls are.
“You promised me, you promised that if we clear the number cards you would be there for me. So far, even seeing Niragi was more of a comfort than you and he tried to assault two out of three girls in my last game.” you whispered, the image of Niragi over you flashing in the front of your brain while staring into his dark eyes. “You pretend to care, but you cannot bother to show it Chishiya”
You turned around, hearing the click of his handcuffs becoming undone.
Chishiya followed your figure as you disappeared through the door. Niragi was alive, that was going to be a hindrance. He had hurt you, and he was not around to stop him this time. Even in his thoughts you came first, he hated that you did. Niragi posed a threat to you. That is why you couldn't have been more wrong. He cared. When he was around you he could not think straight, as if an alarm was constantly going off in his head. He just didn't know how to show it to you. That night when he showed up at your room, he had gone over what he was going to say countless times in his head. Seeing you arrive with Niragi, he was caught off guard. No words needed, he took care of you. Falling asleep while watching over you. In a sense that was the best and worst thing that happened, he did not need an excuse to spend the day with you, but he had no plan, he was afraid that you would say no to him.
He hated that you were in a game with him, that you chose the seat which made your hands so close to his he could feel the warmth. He rubbed his wrists.
Without a word you waited out the forty minutes. Yoko entered with Sakamoto's hand on her shoulder, the woman following them. He seemed to genuinely comfort her before sitting her down. Chishiya came through the doorway, keeping his handcuffs on, preparing to drop them as soon as the card was played. This round, you sat so that Chishiya was in your field of vision.
“The round has now started, all participants must remain in their seats”
Yoko began the round with a Truth card.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
Yoko looked at the woman to her right, she smiled back at Yoko and nodded.
“Are you Hiro Takeguya?”
“Yes.”
Yoko looked at Sakamoto, who looked around at everybody, producing a Truth card. Staring at Takeguya.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
“You” he pointed at the man  “why did you kill your daughter?”
He laughed, reached for the pack of cigarettes he had been smoking prior to the round. Took one, lit it and took a drag. “I refuse to answer”
A laser shot through his head. He died leaning back in his chair, cigarette falling to the ground where Chishiya put it out with his foot. Number 8 reached to get his cards, tossing all of them face-up. Disappointed she commented “All invalids”
It was your turn, first you showed everyone your Key card for number 7. Tossing it on the ground. There was no use for it anymore. You played Key card for Chishiya. He put his handcuffs on the table.
“You told him the code before the start of the round?”  Shaved head girl questioned. “You working together then?”
Chishiya smirked as if the prospect of you two being affiliated amused him “No”
Jesus this man was insufferable. You looked at him, and looked back down to further imprint the idea of something else than teamwork going on. He already must have a plan then, you wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to make it seem like he was outdoing the king, proving he is worthy of being his opponent. It seemed like the face card representatives liked knowing that they are the best, disproving any challengers and Chishiya was making good use of this. He just proved himself to not be the king and challenged the king to a match of wits and manipulation.
Genji followed up with an Information card.
“Hiro Takeguya, age 59 is the Dollhouse killer, responsible for the torture and subsequent death of his daughter”
The woman in the blue dress played a Truth card.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
“The blonde man, what did you do to her?” she inquired.
“I have not touched her since the game started.” Chishiya replied with a cold expression.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
“Follow up” the girl with the shaved head asked in an accusatory tone  “What did you do to her?”
She kicked Sakamoto under the table.
Instead of Sakamoto, Yoko replied. “I am going to leave this game, I had wanted to give up for some time now, they just gave me the comfort I needed. Please help them find the king.”
Sakamoto closed his eyes and replied “Comforted her.”
The round continued. Daichi played the card for his own number. With Chishiyas statement card another break started.
“Every participant in this room knows Niragi Suguru”
With the mention of Niragi Yoko started bawling her eyes out, Niragi has that effect on people. Although considering her confession, she knew this was the end. She thanked everyone with a bow and stood up.
“The round has now ended, all participants are free to leave their seats”
Daichi, Genji and you stood up, presumably going to unlock their handcuffs and you to the kitchen area to get snacks. Your choice was a green tea drink, taiyaki and Chishiyas favorite biscuits. In a way he reminded you of a cat, liking only very specific foods and being adamant about wearing his favorite jacket. These little things are what reminded you that you cared for him, really you did. And that was enough for you.
Chishiya waited for you, signaling you to follow him. You went into the master bedroom and he closed the door behind him. You sat down on the bed, where he joined you. You handed him the sweets. “I'm sorry Chishiya, I shouldn't have said all that before. I have no right to judge you. ”
“This room kind of looks like your room at the beach.” he played with the packaging.
“Yeah, I suppose it does” you laughed at his attempt to ease the tension, it did not work in the slightest.
“Did” Chishiya paused, setting aside his biscuits “Did Niragi hurt you?”
“He tried.” you sighed “We were up against a former band, the King of Clubs team. They had outnumbered Tatta, gaining enough points to send most of us into a hopeless spiral. Kuina said her goodbyes. Me and Usagi ran off. When Niragi realized he was going to die as well, he went after Usagi. And when Arisu stopped him he went after me. I made peace with it. I think some part of me felt like I owed him something, for getting away once and I stopped fighting him. Were it not for Arisu winning us the game there would have been nothing to stop him.”
You subconsciously dug your thumb into your palm, drawing a trickle of blood. Chishiya reached for your hand, taking both of them in his. Running his thumb over your skin.
“That night that Niragi drugged you, I was not just passing by. I was waiting for you, hoping you would walk by.” he let go with one hand and pulled his hood down.
“I wanted to tell you that you make me feel like your whole world. I promised to be with you after the ten of hearts so that you wouldn't leave the beach with anyone else. I did not want to lose you. I care about you and I never got the chance to properly say that, until now.”
He let go of your hands. Wrapping his arms around you. “I want to be with you”
You remained silent.
“So do I.”
The kiss came naturally, your face instinctively moved to his. Lips meeting midway. It was just brief, natural. Chishiya leaned back in, kissing you once more. By the time it was time for the third round you had finished your snacks, laying in bed together. Chishiya holding your hand in his while explaining his conclusion to you.
“It is Sakamoto, then,” you said.
“I have no doubts about it” Chishiya replied.
“So, do you plan on calling him out or making a drastic reveal? I know you'd like that.” you stood up, stretching your hands a bit. The handcuffs made it hard to move them.
“No, I would rather spend my truth cards on making you confess your love to me.” he half smirked, not looking away from his cards.
“You are unbearable Chishiya,” you teased.
You returned first, sat down and took out your cards, rearranging them on the table. The round began with only half the participants. Chishiya once again sat down last. The body of Yoko's female companion was covered with a sheet, Yoko crying softly and Sakamoto sitting stone faced. You discarded the Key card for number 6.
“We should start” Sakamoto proclaimed
“Where are her cards?” Daichi asked.
“All blanks” Sakomoto looked at Daichi
“Not possible” the girl with the shaved head retorted and pointed at the sheet from which a hand of the older woman stuck out. “She had a Key card.”
“For Yoko” Sakamoto said, lifting Yoko's hands, showing she no longer had handcuffs. Yoko jerked her hand back.
“The round has now started, all participants must remain in their seats”
Yoko and Sakamoto each played a Blank card. You played a Truth card.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
“Sakamoto, did the woman at the head of the table have one or two Key cards.”
“One” Sakamoto calmly replied.
You hoped Chishiya caught onto what you were trying to do. If he asked Yoko the same question and her answer would differ it would mean that the king is an exception to rules - proving the Kings identity to the others.
Genji threw out a Blank card and the girl played an Information card.
“Chishiya Shuntaro, age 25, the son of the chief of directors at Tokyo general hospital was disowned by his father”
“I knew you were familiar!” Daichi yelled “You burned Niragi!”
“Right.” Chishiya smiled slyly.
You knew of Chishiyas father, very little, but enough to know not to pry right now.
“Why didn't you say you were from the beach, man? We'd have invited you to drink with us” Daichi asked as he threw out a Key card for Genji.
You, shaved head and Sakamoto were the only ones in handcuffs right now. Yoko also seemed to notice.
“Her! It's her! She is the king!” she frantically waved her hands, pointing to you.
The girl with the shaved head, leaned back, quietly murmuring “Fuck, Id never have thought”
“Alright then, we just have to unlock my handcuffs, wait and its game clear.” Sakamoto leaned back, adjusting his position.
Chishiya reached for you hand under the table, whispering in your ear. “Im going to enjoy this”
You squeezed his hand, suppressing a smile.
Chishiya revealed his cards. “Good thing I have this then”
“Yes! Good job everyone” Yoko beamed, looking over at Sakamoto.
“Yoko,” Chishiya slid forward a card.
“A Truth card has been played, player ask your question.”
“How many key cards did the woman at the head of the table have?”
Yoko looked at Sakamoto, then at Chishiya. “One”
A laser charred through her head, blood pooling and dripping down the table.
“Holy shit. It's you.” The girl with the shaved head
“The round has now ended, all participants are free to leave their seats”
Sakamoto rushed to get Yoko's cards, but the girl with the shaved head stopped him.
“6343” she announced. With the way Sakamoto was stretched across the table it was easy to peek at his cards. He had an Information and Key card.
“7-”
“7117” Chishiya beat you to it.
“You lost” the girl pushed him to his seat sticking out her tongue, mocking him.
He had a disgusted scowl on his face.
“You wanna stay behind and get wasted?” Daichi turned to Genji. They shared a high five and all giddy, left the room. Daichi yelled “We will watch him get shot”
“While doing shots” Genji laughed.
Those two really are something. You sometimes ache to have such a simple mindset, being able to enjoy careless pleasures. Chishiya placed his hand on your back. Careless pleasure huh.
“Lets go.” he urged, the crinkly paper in his pocket gave him away. He'd stolen two if not three packets of the biscuits.
“Look at you, robber.”
“Oh I'm not the one in handcuffs am I?”
“Would you like to be” you looked at him, expecting an equally smart ass comeback.
“I think I prefer this.” he gently pushed your body against the wall, pulling your hands to the side, careful not to hurt your wrists and leaned in for a kiss. He had this stupid expression on his face, intense eyes but smiling.
The girl was in the vault room, imputing her code. “Hey, you two, thanks for whatever you did back there. I'm Mima by the way”
Sound of handcuffs dropping echoed and she groaned slightly “Jesus, if I hadn't stopped smoking I'd say I need a cigarette.”
You grabbed the key, Chishiya taking over and unlocking your handcuffs. Chishiya leaned into your ear, placing the set of handcuffs in his pocket along with the key “Were keeping these”
You felt your cheeks burn up slightly. What have you gotten into? Rather what will you get into you…
“Mima, Im Chishiya, this is (YN/)” he chirped.
The tree of you walked out. Kuina was sitting outside, playing with her Lucky charm (which was literally a bomb). You greeted her with a hug.
“Kuina, this is Mima.” you introduced them.
“And this is, well” you tried to prepare Kuina, Chishiya walked out the building, eyes closed, hands inside his pocket.
“You son of a bitch” Kuina smiled widely.
An explosion sounded above you, right, the airship. Everybody realized, started walking wherever.
“I have a hideout nearby.” Chishiya raised his voice.
“Great, I need a fucking bed.” Kuina raised her hand.
“Right there with you Kuina,” Mima added.
“Oh yeah, we do too.” Chishiya raised one of his eyebrows in your direction, thanks to Kuina and Mima being in front of you they didn't catch his expression.
“You're insufferable,” you said.
“Oh you won't be saying that when Im done with you”
“I hate you”
“Do you” Chishiya pulled out a Truth card from the game. You stopped running, amusing him, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. “Never”

★ - not so mr. nice guy

EDIT: if you guys would like me to make a niragi fic please let me know!
the beach was a place where you could be yourself. where you could party, drink, fuck, and do all the drugs you want. you chatted with a few people here and there, most who were intoxicated or high out of their minds, and some who didn’t pay attention to a single thing you were saying, their gaze lingering on your chest. usually, you’d stay out near the pool area for a few hours, chatting the day away with kuina or catching up with arisu, but today, you were only out for about 30 minutes or so; the catcalling got to be too much and you were fed up with it, saluting your friends bye as you headed inside.  pressing the elevator button, you went in and tapped the button to lead you up to your room, just wanting to crash in bed and call it a night. but as the elevator opened and you were just about to taste victory, someone tugged your hair -- and quite hard at that -- and pulled you into a corner, pushing a finger to your lips. your eyes had widened massively, you had seen this guy around. he was aguni morizono’s second in command, and many people feared him; suguru niragi.  “oh, you’re a pretty thing, aren’t ya?” he asked rhetorically, letting his eyes wander up and down your figure, licking at his lips hungrily. you had to admit, he was quite an attractive man, but this was already a terrible first impression ( not that he already didn’t give you bad vibes, but you didn’t think he was this terrible ). you swatted his hand away and was just about to leave, however he pulled you back and slammed you against the wall. now you couldn’t leave, even if you really wanted to. “how about this,” he stated, a smirk pulling on his face, his eyes practically seeing through you, as if you were nothing but a toy to him. “you suck my dick, and i’ll let ya go, hm?” he couldn’t be serious.  you almost wanted to laugh at his desperation. did he do this to all the girls here? and you just so happened to be niragi’s lucky target of the day! how fun! “over my dead body.” you spat, trying to toughen yourself up. you thought that’d do the trick and that he’d leave you the hell alone, but your comment made him laugh, his tongue hanging out slightly from his mouth, showing off the piercing. god, he really was a psycho, wasn’t he? one second you were okay, and the next, a gun was placed to the side of your head. he was being serious about this. your breath caught in your throat, fear making your heart pound out of your chest. and niragi relished in it. he loved how he could make you cower like an injured little puppy in the matter of mere seconds.  “suck it.” he ordered, clicking the gun. it wasn’t loaded, was it? but judging by how dark his gaze became, this wasn’t a joke. obediently, you dropped to your knees and tugged on his pants, his bulge becoming much more evident. he was getting aroused by this. turned on by your fear. what a sicko.  yanking down his boxers, you gulped nervously at his size, precum already oozing from his slit, piercings glistening in the light. tilting your eyes up, almost begging for him to let you go, he nudged the gun to the side of your head, practically telling you to do it. taking in a deep breath, you parted your lips and slipped your mouth over the tip of his cock, his piercings cold and scraping against your cheeks. he was quite big, and you pushed your mouth further on him, trying to get yourself adjusted to his size. however, he was growing impatient with your pace, gripping the back of your head and completely thrusting his dick into your mouth.  you gagged as he hit the back of your throat, eyes burning and slightly watering. he just gave a small cackle and tightened his grip on your hair, giving you the cue to continue. nervously, you obeyed and began to bob your head up and down on him, feeling him hit at the back repeatedly, causing you to gag and choke a bit on your own spit. niragi’s lips tugged into a grin, quiet groans slipping out from his mouth. seeing you on your knees for him, fearful for what he’d do if you didn’t listen, gagging and choking on his dick was turning him on even more.  you dragged your tongue around the base, feeling his veins prod against your taste buds. saliva began to slip from the corner of your mouth, dripping down your cleavage and onto the floor. his groans progressed in volume slightly, his grip tightening so hard that you swore he was about to yank your hair out.. but then he started fucking your mouth on his cock harder, abusing your throat, making your gags louder as you struggled to breathe. tears pricked and rolled down your face, and you cursed at yourself for feeding into niragi’s desires. it didn’t help when he started thrusting into your mouth, his rhythm slightly sloppy -- he was close. with a few more thrusts, he leaned his head back against the wall, eyes shutting as he came in bliss, liquid spilling into your mouth. he tasted salty, and slightly bitter, and as he looked back at you, he pinched your nose; making you unable to breathe entirely which made you panic a bit. “swallow.” he ordered, voice raspy. you did as he ordered, swallowing his cum, feeling the bitter aftertaste linger on your tongue. he pulled out and let go of your nose, causing you to gasp for air as saliva dripped from your lips.  “atta girl.” he cackled, pulling the gun away and shooing you off. “i’ll play with you again soon.” tucking his dick back into his boxers and pulling his pants up, he watched as you cleaned off your mouth and quickly headed to your room, not daring to look back once you got there and shut the door. unluckily for you, you just got marked by suguru niragi. and this wouldn’t be the last time he’d see you.

LOVE IS CHAOS
Previous chapters
Chapter 11 - Trouble
Tumblr media
The rumors about Niragi's crime had spread very quickly in the night around The Beach. All the players who lived in the hotel had heard about this newcomer who had killed a militant in order to steal his gun. The Hatter did not find the need to reprimand him, but a visit from Aguni was necessary the next day, when the sun was not yet up.
Several knocks came on the door of the room you had chosen. It was a large and luxurious room, with a king-size bed and an equally impressive bathroom. It was a room you could never afford in the real world, so Niragi had insisted on enjoying it and appreciating the value of this inaccessibility.
The door opened with a bang, after all, all the keys to the rooms had been stuck inside the locks to avoid a troop withdrawal, or any other secrecy, for that matter.
You were entwined in Niragi's arms, bare chest pressed against the softness of the mattress. The sheet had gotten tangled between your legs and was falling right down your back. Niragi was also naked, one arm draped over his chest while his cock rested proudly along his thigh.
You both were startled by the stranger's invasion into the room, and you tried as best you could to quickly hide your body with the sheet. Eyes still glued shut, it took a little while to figure out what was going on.
"What the fuck do you want?" Niragi spat as he turned on the light on the bedside table, unconcerned about hiding (he had always been proud of his parts, and very unprudent, even in front of men who might have stared at him).
Aguni stood at the foot of the bed, hands in his pockets and chins up, a defiant look in his eyes. He didn't care about you, at that moment he was only looking at Niragi and if he himself was that stupid, he would grab his machine gun and point it at the intruder. Fortunately, none of that happened.
"Can you explain to me why one of my guys has a belly full of bullets, in the hallway?" Aguni asked nonchalantly. There was something strange about him that bothered you, it was confusing to face someone who was so imposing with so little interest in anything.
Well, maybe not, if he was trying to understand why Niragi had killed one of his own.
Niragi sighed, blinking to try to erase the sleep. He chuckled stupidly and lay back down, twirling the sheet over his thighs. "Get the fuck outta my room."
But Aguni wouldn't be satisfied with that. He walked over to the bed, and kicked Niragi's legs, who suddenly opened his eyes again, a murderous look on his face. You were still on the other side of the bed, sheet pulled up and tight to your chest as you stood mute before the scene.
He didn't scare you any more than that, but he seemed to want answers and you couldn't really blame him. One of his men had been killed, and he was looking for someone to blame. It was understandable.
"I'm only going to tell you this once, so listen carefully," Aguni resumed in his threatening voice, "It takes more than that to become an executive member of The Beach, it's not for everyone. I'll let it slide, just this once. But the next time something like this happens again, you'll answer to me."
It was an act of charity to let Niragi off the hook like that, but for now, you'd take anything. Aguni didn't even give you a glance, nothing at all as he headed for the exit. He slammed the door with a thud, and finally your tense body seemed to relax.
You didn't even notice your fingers gripping the sheet intently, and Niragi grunted widely as he turned off the light. "Who the fuck does he think he is?"
Niragi buried his head in his pillow again, and without waiting for an answer, he seemed to want to get back to sleep. "For a number two, I guess." You commented quietly and Niragi didn't really respond, aside from an almost imperceptible shrug.
That, that sort of thing, was obviously one of Niragi's weak points. He often thought he was so far above everyone else that he forgot that some people had the same attitude as him. A war of egos had no place here, and you wouldn't be the one to take sides in this chaos.
You knew that Niragi would attract problems, it was always stronger than he was. He always had a tendency to insult the cops who would have arrested him, thinking he had stolen a bottle of liquor from the store; he always had the obligation to throw middle fingers at the first person who honked at him in the car. Niragi was that kind of person, to puff up his chest at the sight of anything that bothered him and often followed by well-chosen words to make his target feel like a nobody.
But he was too naive to understand that this world was much more dangerous than he thought.
You turned on the light which burst on the walls again, reflecting the white color of the bulb. Niragi grunted a second time and turned around with a question written all over his face. "Go back to bed," he ordered before slumping back against the pillow. He encircled the pillow with his hands, pumping the muscles in his back. This was usually the kind of sight that made you bite your lip, a definite thought in the back of your mind.
But now something else was bothering you. "I told you you were going to get us in trouble, we're in Aguni's bullseye with your stupid shit!"
If there was one person in the world who could talk to Niragi like that it was you. The only person who could stand up to him and make him see the truth in his own eyes without the risk of getting a fist in the face. It was a heavy burden to bear at times, but even Niragi wasn't perfect. Sometimes he was wrong, sometimes he made bad choices.
"What are you talking about? It's fine."
"Fine? No, it's far from fine, actually," you exclaimed incredulously and now fully awake. "Niragi, baby, fuck... We should be keeping a low profile, not having fun shooting the first one that comes along. If we're going to get out of here, we need to do it smart." You were starting to get a little angry, all this drama was making your blood boil. After all, you felt that calling attention to yourself was not the best way to gain respect.
If you had to prove your loyalty, this was not how you would have hoped to do it at all. "Be careful, sweetheart, you're standing dangerously close to the fire." Niragi had warned in a deep voice, his eyes closed despite the threat that had just come out of his mouth.
He didn't want you to forget that despite your relationship, it didn't leave you the opportunity to talk to him any old way. Respect was something that Niragi cherished strongly, and he never missed an opportunity to remind you of it. Even if you hadn't said those exact words, implying that what he was doing wasn't smart annoyed him to no end.
Far be it from you to diminish him, but you had to make him understand that he shouldn't do it again. What was done, was done, you couldn't go back. But if you could avoid another lapse, then you'd do anything to protect yourself from it. "We have three days left before our visa expires," you clarified, ignoring her warnings, still being careful how you said things. "We're going to have to get them a card back tonight."
"Yeah, okay, can we go back to sleep now?" Niragi was far too unconcerned for your liking, and as he turned around once more to protect himself from the light that was dazzling him too much, he threw the sheet back over his legs. He hoped that this time he'd get to the bottom of it and force you to go back to bed and catch a few more hours of sleep.
Unfortunately, you were far too awake to go back to sleep, and the idea of trouble coming after you was too much on your mind to hope to move on. Niragi's breath was getting heavy, and you suspected that he had already gone back to sleep. It was good of him to be able to go back to sleep so easily, without any embarrassment in the world.
Discreetly, you tried to extricate yourself from the bed without making the mattress creak, and picking up your clothes that were dragging on the floor from Niragi who had torn them from your body last night. Your legs were still a bit sore, but without a word, you put on the clothes to cover your body.
You didn't want to walk around in a bathing suit here, but for now, you took advantage of the fact that a pair of shorts and a crop top were enough to be left alone. You picked up your shoes, stained with the blood of one of the victims of your first game, and put them on once you left the hotel room and turned off the light. The door closed with a small click that wouldn't wake up Niragi.
The body of Niragi's victim had disappeared from the hallway, but the dried blood on the carpet was still clearly visible. Ignoring this chilling sight, you made your way to the elevator.
Few people were already awake, and very few had not yet gone to bed. The hotel corridors were deserted, and it was rare to see anyone.
As soon as you found yourself outside again, on the patio of the terrace that led to the pool, a light breeze came crashing down on your face and you wished you were more covered up than that. There were still a few players having fun, the sound of the music much lower than during the evening.
Two young boys were passed out on the cushions of a bench a little further away, a man was lounging on a buoy in the pool, a half-drunk glass of alcohol in his hands. Two girls were still dancing to the music, their movements somewhat blurred and disoriented.
You sat on the steps of the terrace, wrapping your hands around your arms to try to regain some of the heat. It was a nice place to catch a glimpse of the sunrise, which started to bathe the sky in an orange color. The yellow ball had not yet appeared across the horizon, but it was only a matter of seconds now.
"You're up bright and early," a voice interrupted your thoughts as you were just beginning to appreciate the beauty of the landscape, which was the same as at home in the real world.
Chishiya came over and sat down beside you on the steps. He held out a cup towards you that was smoking, and you could feel the smell of coffee tickling your nostrils.
"Coffee?" He offered kindly, and you couldn't refuse such an invitation.
"Shit, where did you get that? I must have scoured the city and never found any!" You exclaimed excitedly, taking the cup in your hands. The cup was warm, and you brought it to the edge of your lips before finally resting it in your lap, eyeing the black liquid suspiciously.
With a small laugh of amusement, Chishiya justified himself, "It's only coffee, don't get carried away." He didn't really explain how it was that there was coffee at The Beach, but you now suspected that a supply crew was surely the cause of the citywide shortage. "Two sugars, if I remember correctly... Is that it?"
He pretended to be doubtful, but he seemed to remember very well how you liked your coffee. This caused your stomach to tense in a slight way that abruptly bothered you. "Thank you," you mumbled before letting the scalding coffee run down your throat. The taste of caffeine on your tongue would have been enough to make you lose your mind. It was a real problem to be so addicted to coffee.
A small silence followed as the laughter of the two dancing girls echoed around you. One of them jumped into the water, catching the man on the buoy to play with him. She splashed him, he laughed.
You were not so much bothered by Chishiya's coming, but you preferred to be alone with your thoughts, just to think about what to do. Of course, you had to keep an eye on Niragi who was slowly starting to fall into a spiral that would swallow him alive if he wasn't more careful. And you, you had to take the responsibility of being the new doctor of the Beach because as the Hatter had said, there didn't seem to be any in this world.
Besides, it made you think that... "I hear you don't have a doctor?" You asked calmly, hoping that Chishiya would be open for this conversation.
"We have one now, right?" It wasn't the answer you were expecting, but you had to be content with it. Your eyes crinkled as you stared at Chishiya, who only offered you a steady gaze in response.
He was indeed implying that you would take this role, as if you didn't really have a choice after all.
"The last doctor we had was killed in a game of spades about twenty days ago," he explained calmly, turning his attention back to the landscape that was finally discovering the sun's bright rays.
You didn't need the details, although you would have liked to know a little more about the game that had taken his life. The more you learned about each arena, the more you thought you could survive it.
"I see," you didn't care who this person was though, as long as your place here was secure. Being the new medic of The Beach didn't seem like such a bad role, after all, and even with little experience in this world, you knew you wouldn't be bored. The wounded were surely frequent.
Again, a few minutes passed before one of you spoke again. The air had turned into something so awkward that you hardly dared to make a sound. It was so strange to see Chishiya in this world, to see him again after all these years. The memories you shared with him were jostling so hard in your brain that it was starting to give you a headache.
He hadn't changed much physically, except for his hair which had grown a little bit more. It was so long now that he could tie it back in a ponytail if he wanted to. Mentally, he still seemed to have that detached air that made anyone think he didn't care about anything, that little interested him behind his arrogant face.
"How long have you been here?" You asked to make conversation, that he didn't think you wanted to end your exchange. The case was there, but he didn't need to know that.
"At The Beach, or in the Borderland?" He asked in a curious tone.
"I don't know, both?"
He thought for a second. "I arrived in the Borderland about thirty days ago. I found The Beach quickly, and the Hatter's offer was quite attractive so, I joined his cause." He explained simply, and even though you could feel his gaze out of the corner of your eye, you kept your eyes fixed on the sunrise, thousands and thousands of miles away.
You took another sip of coffee. The birds began to rise as well, as the sky began to brighten. It was getting less cold now, but you weren't sure if it was the hot cup between your fingers, or the sun's rays crashing down on your figure.
"What was your first game?" You asked again.
"The ace of diamonds," Chishiya spoke casually, far from being bothered by all your questions. At least, from what you were thinking. "Pretty simple game for a first timer, I got lucky."
He didn't say what it was, or how he'd managed to survive, but you sensed he was deliberately leaving it in doubt. That was his thing, acting mysteriously as if you would finally beg him for answers to your questions.
No, far from it. He probably forgot how casual you could be too. Or maybe you'd become that way with Niragi in the last few years. It didn't matter.
"What kind of game was that?" Still, you wanted to know how far he would go, how far he would be willing to give you answers. You distrusted him like the darn plague, after all, you knew him well enough to know the selfishness and narcissism he displayed.
"Little riddles," he clarified, but nothing more. Except, "Are you really interested in what I've done so far, or is this just an interrogation?"
You smiled. He had broken through your offense. It wasn't exactly a well-hidden attack, but it sure seemed like he remembered your style very well. "Don't get me wrong, it was just to make conversation."
He smiled as well. A bird was flying high in the sky, feathers spread wide with each flap of its wings. The two players in the pool had come out a few minutes ago and trained inside the hotel, surely to find the warmth of their bed. There was still those boys who had fallen asleep on the benches, and the other dancing girl had poured herself a last drink before looking for her room in turn.
"Looks like your boyfriend is making trouble," Chishiya commented with a detached air, as if to change the subject. There was no judgment in his voice, but you could very clearly hear the sound of denunciation floating in the air.
You closed your eyes for a small second, "It's not what it looks like," you'd try to smooth it over, make it look like an accident, maybe.
Chishiya was one of the execs at The Beach, and if you could get him in your pocket to avoid your exclusion so quickly, then you had to find every way to brush him off. Playing the hypocrite was part of that.
After all, despite all the feelings that were stirring in your heart at the sound of his voice, you had to put the affect aside and focus on what was in front of you. That is, survival above all.
"Niragi is..." you thought carefully about your words. You would never be the one to discredit Niragi here, you would never talk about his quiet moments where simply the sound of the waves crashing against the sand would be enough to calm him down. You would never talk about how, between four walls, well protected from prying ears and insistent looks, he knew how to appreciate the feeling of your skin against his with two or three kisses as delicate as a summer morning.
No, no. It was a secret you would take to your own grave, whether your loss was the consequence, it did not matter. Niragi had spent so much time rebuilding himself and understanding that he wasn't just a victim of this world and that he had the power to fight, too; that you would never dare destroy his house of cards just for the sake of showing off your knowledge.
"...Niragi is not what you think." It wasn't an explanation per se, but it was enough to make Chishiya doubt.
"And what do I think?" Chishiya asked, eyebrows raised and his voice slightly surprised.
"You think he's a bully, don't you? That he terrorizes those weaker than him for the fun of it, and that he takes a liking to their frightened looks." You would never admit that it was just a shell, just a veil that hid the personality you had fallen in love with long ago. "We're all trying to survive here. Each in our own way."
That, however, you would admit. You'd admit that maybe it wasn't the best way, but that at least there was such a willingness to get the hell out of here and get back to the life you left behind in the real Tokyo, that maybe it was excusable. Maybe.
Chishiya nodded, as if he thought what you said made sense. "I don't think he likes me much," he tried to joke with a smile, but it wasn't enough for you to do the same.
"Yeah, he doesn't know much about dealing with people..."  You knew it was much easier for Niragi to threaten people and take them down, than to play on small talk and make friends. "Don't take it personally. He doesn't like many people."
Maybe in another life he would have succeeded.
Chishiya added nothing more and remained silent. The sun was quite distinct on the horizon now, and the orange sky was giving way more and more to the cloudless blue that would herald yet another warm day.
"I'm going to get some breakfast, would you like to join me?" Chishiya offered gently as he looked away from the horizon to try to catch your eyes. But when he found them, he was disappointed to find that he surely would not have the pleasure of enjoying your company any longer.
"I'm not very hungry, but thanks. Maybe later," and that wasn't entirely a lie. It was true that you should enjoy the food at The Beach, which surely had to offer a whole buffet that you had been dreaming of since you had first set foot on this land, but all that stuff with Niragi that had happened in such a short time had spoiled your appetite.
"The lunch room is on the right side of the stairs, in the lobby. Everything is very well explained, let the signs guide you when hunger strikes again," Chishiya explained and he stood up with a last smile and finally left. The sound of his footsteps behind you echoed very shortly before you found yourself alone again.
There was only the sleeping boys on the benches who were keeping you company, but considering their condition, you wouldn't have had much conversation from them. It was not a bad thing, because you wanted to enjoy the last drops of your coffee in peace. No talking, no excuses, no nothing.
Just you, and the landscape.
But there was this little sensation on your shoulders, tingling your skin. It wasn't the wind, or any insect that had landed without permission, but as you searched for the cause of this effect, your gaze met the two black eyes of Niragi, leaning on the railing of the fourth floor balcony. Smoke was coming out of the stoned cigarette in his hand, his naked body clad only in boxers.
The sun's rays were also crashing down on his face as he took a puff of nicotine into his lungs. His gaze was so insistent that you wondered how long he had been there. Maybe he had never gone back to sleep, and he had seen everything about your conversation with Chishiya.
Even from too far away to hear anything, just the sight of a man sitting so close to you could give him a good reason to set the world on fire.
He wouldn't let go of your eyes, a real threat in the middle of his irises. Jaw clenched, muscles tensed, you knew you were in trouble.
Damn it. This was definitely not the time to piss him off.
You felt like you were walking on eggshells all day. As time went on, you feared that Niragi's wrath would descend upon you at any moment. He had already built up a reputation, and now whispers could be heard after every step he took, looks suddenly changed to something fearful, and most importantly, Niragi was now strutting around with his brand new machine gun on his shoulder.
Not only did it give him a funny look, like a mobster straight out of a Hollywood movie, but also, he had this arrogance that was unequal to him, which seemed to have completely changed sides for an absolutely glorious insolence. He was having far too much fun playing with his authority, that you still didn't quite see the point of his maneuver.
He had already insulted too many people by mid-day, that it was a miracle that Aguni had not yet returned to reprimand him. And you avoided him like the plague.
You knew that the moment Niragi got his hands on you, you would owe him an explanation for that little talk with Chishiya. There was nothing wrong and nothing really interesting about it, but Niragi had a nasty habit of doubting your good faith if he decided there was something to blame.
"Do you want to explain to me what that asshole had to say to you, sweetheart?" He only called you that when he was pissed off, or when the tension in his body started to rise dangerously.
He had you pinned between the wall of your room and his muscular torso, machine gun in hand and eyes as black as night. You'd done a pretty good job of avoiding him most of the day, or he'd given you enough of a break to run through in his head all the punishments he could try on you if he didn't like the answer.
His voice was low, as weak as the warning he carried in his eyes. His body was pressed so hard against yours that you could only sink into the wall, no escape possible. His breath crashed against your mouth, your own breath worried and stuck in the back of your throat. "Am I not allowed to talk with a friend?"
"A friend?" He repeated as he raised his eyebrows, bringing his left hand up to caress your cheek with the back of his hand. It was such a gentle gesture that it contrasted with the way he was looking at you. He hooked his fingers together at the back of your neck, his thumb gently rubbing your jaw. Then he grabbed the back of your hair hard, so hard that you couldn't hold back the moan of pain from your mouth. "You didn't tell me that Chishiya was a friend..."
No, you didn't. He wasn't really. But if Niragi found out what Chishiya really meant to you, you knew that the blond would end up with a bullet between the eyes very quickly.
You opened your mouth to justify yourself again, but the pressure on your neck was so strong that it took your breath away. Bumping his forehead lightly against yours, Niragi closed his eyes for a second before pulling back, murmuring softly in his husky voice, "I'm really trying to get us out of here. You and me. But if you make it hard for me, we're going to have a problem..."
This wasn't the first time Niragi played on words to make you understand that he wasn't happy, and that a scolding would surely await you if you didn't do as he wanted.
He finally let go of his weapon and it crashed to the ground with a thud, and with his right hand he put pressure on your hips so that you could feel the force with which he could punish you if you didn't listen to his warnings.
"I know who you are, Niragi..." It was very dangerous to answer him, let alone say those few words. But you didn't care about his threats that could terrorize the world but your own. "And I know where you're coming from," he put more intense pressure on the back of your neck and you looked straight into his eyes. "You can have fun scaring whoever you want here, but it won't work with me."
The very insinuation of his past life, the one he had spent years forgetting and burying, was enough to cause a pain in his heart that made his head spin. There was a lot going on in his head now, and the only thing you could see in his eyes was anger. Anger at being reminded of the horror and shame he suffered night and day about the person he once was.
He was so far away from that now, so far away from all that pain that he couldn't imagine that the only person who could remind him of that was you. It was like a betrayal in his eyes, like a call to hatred that would slowly take place inside him. Because yes, he hated who he used to be, he hated the person he had been for too many years.
Suddenly, the fingers around your neck loosened to painfully encircle your throat. Niragi crushed his fingers so hard on your skin that the air was now really hard to breathe. The pressure on your throat even seemed to cut off the circulation of your blood, so much so that you could feel the difficulty in concentrating within seconds.
"Well maybe I should make you afraid of me too then, mmh?" Niragi growled through his teeth, and you felt like he was tightening his grip with every word he spoke.
It was now so hard to breathe that you couldn't hear what else he was saying, if he even said anything at all. Instinctively, your hands grabbed his, trying valiantly to free yourself from his grip. But he had too much strength, and you were losing yours with each passing second.
You couldn't conceive of the idea that Niragi was actually strangling you, which had nothing to do with the moments spent under the covers while he was thrusting deep inside of you. No, this was much more intense and ferocious than that.
You were slowly losing consciousness, silently screaming, searching for your breath.
And when he finally released the pressure around your neck, the air finally flowing into your lungs was so painful that it was hard to regain a sense of sanity. You slumped to the floor, hands and knees scraping against the hard surface of the bedroom carpet. The oxygen was returning to your body and your blurred vision was beginning to find its focus again. No matter where Niragi was, you couldn't see anything but the black spots that still stained your eyes.
You coughed, once, twice, three times. Air, finally.
"No one tells me what to do," Niragi's voice echoed in your ears, like a distant sound that was very difficult to hear. Before your eyes, you could see his boots coming closer, and as he knelt in front of you, he took a handful of your hair in his hand, which he squeezed again. You couldn't feel the pain it caused, but it was enough to force you to look him in the eye. "Not even you."
He ran the tip of his tongue over his lips, the shine of his piercing glinting from the light of the day.
Niragi planted a kiss on your forehead, a gesture so delicate that you almost expected to feel pain that didn't come. "Did I make myself clear?"
It took you a second to understand what he was saying. The pain in your lungs was still there, and the fervor with which he was gripping your hair was giving you a headache. Maybe it was the lack of oxygen, though.
Not a sound could come out of your mouth, and not one of your muscles could fire up. Suddenly, you didn't even know what your first name was, so much so that Niragi's insistent gaze caused your stomach to twist.
For the first time in your life, Niragi was looking at you with something new in his eyes. Something that gave you chills and made your fingertips tremble.
Quickly, you nodded your head up and down, praying you wouldn't keep him waiting any longer. "Good," he muttered, letting go of your hair again.
Niragi walked away, just like that, without another word, without another gesture. He picked up his machine gun and left you there, slumped on the ground, bruised and scared. It was a strange feeling to see him in that state, with those eyes that were normally reserved for the world but you.
This world was consuming Niragi. Or releasing a fairground beast that only had room between bars.

Niragi in season one was made way dumber than he is, when in fact he and Chishiya are on the same level.
He used to be a Game Engineer in normal life, he's not as dumb as they want him to be, he's just reckless af about some things.
Obviously it still sucks what he tries to do to Usagi, but reading the manga I really liked the complexity of the character of Niragi, maybe because adoring Chishiya I can't do anything else. They are the same and that is why they clash, they admit it too. They see themselves in each other and, as much as Niragi is a shitty person, with his motivations, but always a shitty person who should have had more support in his life, in the manga there is one of his last scenes in particular that made me feel really bad for him. I do not apologize, but somehow I understand it.

༺☆༻༺☆༻༺☆༻༺☆༻
Everybody that is more than a week at The Beach knows Niragi. It could be his loud and dramatic attitude or the big gun he carries around all the time. Fact is: he’s known. And therefore you’re known too.
He did make it obvious pretty quickly that it’s better to not even think about you if they value their lives at least a little bit.
But of course there always has to be some sort of idiot who just won’t listen to all the warnings he’ll get.
It’s a rather calm day at The Beach today. No games, no fear of dying, just accepting and making the best of the day.
You sit at the bar, sipping your second raspberry bacardi for tonight and enjoying the feeling of the bass hammering through the floor and your body.
„Hello there“, you hear a deep voice greeting you. Turning your head to your right you look into the face of some stranger. A girl stands behind him, pleading him to just go.
Well, this will be real fun.
„All alone baby?“, he asks, prepping his elbow on the bar.
„Please, just let us leave already!“, the girl almost cries. „You don’t want this.“ But he just ignores her. „I heard you’re supposed to be 'off limits'.“ You can’t stop the grin creeping on your face as he leans closer.
„I’m waiting for someone. He should be here any minute.“, you answer amused. „Well, but he’s not here now. Finders keepers.“
The people near you start whispering to each other and the girl again tries to make him leave, this time tugging on his swimming trucks.
„Wow, those afraid looks really give me the feeling I’m playing with fire. Truth be told, you’re so hot I had the feeling all along.“
„You are playing with fire! And you’re about to get badly burned when he comes back!“, the girl continues her useless efforts.
„Oh please“, the guy says amused as he pushed her away. „I’m down for a good fist fight.“
„You’re new, right?“, you ask him, acting flirty and drawing his attention back to you. „You know the faces around here?“ With a giggle you answer: „No, just had a feeling.“
„Well, your intentions are right. I came two days ago. If I’d knew what beautiful women were waiting for me I would have come here way sooner.“ It’s hard to not let your giggling turn into laughing, so you take another sip from your bacardi, hoping it’ll help to keep your volume down. „This annoying girl there tried to warn me all day since I saw you, but believe me babygirl, there’s nothing that could scare me away from you.“
„Oh, is that so?“ The room goes silent as his voice echoes trough the air. The guy turns around, getting a little bit pale around the nose as he spots Niragi with his riffle aimed at him, but he catches himself pretty quickly again and stands up as Niragi walks up to him.
„You think your gun scares me?“, he asks, acting all tough. „Yeah“, Niragi answers bluntly. „Usually this is the point where your small brain tells you to go.“
The guy puffs out his chest, trying to make himself look taller. „Well, I see trough your bluff. You think because you’re a militant and carrying a huge gun around you’re better than me. But let me tell you one thing“ he gets closer to Niragi, causing the rest to start whispering. „You’re a coward. As if you have the balls to pull the tri-“ Before he’s able to finish his sentence, a shot echoes trough the room, followed by the high pitched scream of the, now not so brave, guy. He falls to the ground, pressing his hands in his thigh.
Immediately everyone backs away when Niragi steps over him, trying to keep as much distant to the raven haired guy as possible. Only you stay where you were, keep sipping your sweet beverage.
„Y-You’re insane!“ The screaming is so distorted from the pain he feels that it almost sounds creepy.
Niragi bends down, looks him in the eyes and flexes with his tongue piercing, a sinister smile decorating his face. „You have no idea.“, he whispers, before another shot rings in your ears, ending the pathetic being of the guy.
Slowly Niragi stands back up, snapping the glass out of your hands to drink the rest. He then throws an arm around your waist and pushes you off the bar stool so you stand beside him. „Anyone else wanting to say something to her?“, he asks loud, pointing his gun on everyone in sight.
Silence.
„Thats what I thought.“ With that he grabs your wrist and starts dragging you with him.
„Fucking around now, are we?“, he asks while dragging you to his room. „No“, you answer with a grin on your lips. „But I like it when you deal with them.“
You know how fucked up it is, but it always warms your heart to see him so obsessive over you that he is ready to kill anyone who just lays an eye on you.

I have to get this out, oh lord, (also spoilers warnings for the second season of Alice in borderland) (side note, I’m not proofreading this, it’s just gonna spew out of my mouth, so have fun with my possible typos and poor wording)
The second season of aib has trashed me emotionally, mentally, and somehow physically, It’s been about 6 days since I’ve watched it and oh god, do I have things to say.
For one, I knew what was going to happen in the end, I saw manga spoilers, and somehow it still left me with this aching feeling. The cinematic effect of seeing everyone in the same place before the meteor, and not knowing each other but being connected is such an emotional masterpiece that will NEVER leave my brain.
It left me with a very empty and yearning feeling especially after seeing they all forgot each other and yet somehow still ‘knew’ each other (yea that phrasing is probably poor, sue me)
I’d also like to mention it made me realize things about myself and my life which is was NOT ready for at all. I related heavily to Arisu and I was aware of that, (the thing with Arisu finding his reason in life hit me very hard) but after washing Chishiya’s part play out The realization hit me so, extremely hard, that I am A LOT like him.
I’ve been told most of life that I am not an empathetic person, and can be very selfish. (the empathy thing might just be my autism shining through a bit but yk)
I was mostly aware of this but I didn’t think much of it and mostly was under the impression that is how you have to be, to get anywhere in the world, but after seeing Chishiya actively WANT to understand and change, meant so much to me and made me realize that I definitely don’t have to be this way.
I’ve never had a character effect me in such a raw, heart touching way before, and honestly thinking about makes me feel a little ill.
That stupid little doctor man (also related to the whole Med student thing to an extent so that was fun) has made me think back on how I am/was as a person, and who I want to be and for that I am so grateful to the writers. (especially because of the changes made to Chishiya’s character/backstory, it made you want to be a bit more sympathetic towards him in the show) So, now I’m being thrown on the journey of self discovery, which I’m not necessarily happy about, but I know I needed this regardless.
NOW! Onto more pressing matters, I’m so extremely angry they kept Niragi alive, and even made him and Chishiya be somewhat civil in the end. (I get they don’t have memories, but it still irks me) Also the fact we never got to see Kuina and Chishiya interact at the hospital is criminal.
I love the Arisu/Usagi romance, it’s so sweet and not overdone to the point where it was like annoying to watch. I hate when romance in shows are either to mushy, or slowly become the main point of the show.
Bonus part that I wasn’t gonna talk about, but the name of the show mirroring the “border” between life and death from the meator is genius and I love it.

never did you imagine yourself in a situation like this. as if being thrown into the vile depths of the borderlands wasn’t already enough, you were crowned with the rather taunting title of the “Beach’s Bitch.”
while it was only partially true, no one let you live it down. especially the two walking reasons as to why you were given the name in the first place. while it certainly pinched your nerves like guitar strings, it was nice to see them agree over something.
even if it was at your expense.
chishiya shuntaro, the beach’s number eleven, and niragi suguru, the beach’s number four, were rivals by nature. chishiya was a fox of a man; skinny, dyed blonde hair that was starting to grow out to his shoulders, and eyes that could see down to your very skeleton. niragi was the exact opposite. he was about a head taller than chishiya with long, slicked back black hair, and had a stare so venomous it could bring a grown man to tears. or maybe it was the automatic assault rifle he had.
they never got along and it was no secret. months ago, they could never even begin to stand in the same room as each other before one of chishiya’s sly remarks was thrown at the other’s back.
the last thing anybody would expect was for the two to share a similar interest in the beach’s newest addition; you. no one paid any particular attention to you when you snaked your way in and blended right in. you helped earn your fair share of cards, sure.
but that wasn’t what they paid attention to. chishiya admired your wit. you observed from the sidelines and made the right moves at the right times. niragi admired you. you always carried yourself like you knew what you were doing, any poor guy who treated you like you didn’t be damned. plus, you had nice legs.
it wasn’t long until the two had gained your full attention. at first, it was a mess. back and forth banter between them while you sat unimpressed in the middle of them. you didn’t remember when you started to find it quite endearing.
fast forward a few months and you’ve found a way to make the impossible possible. you sat at the beach’s bar with both men at either of your sides. niragi had his arm slung loosely around the back of your neck while chishiya’s shoulder was pressed securely against your own.
you sipped at your drink, silently enjoying the side glances the bartenders would give the three of you and the whispers that were too loud to even be considered whispers that would have niragi perking up like a guard dog. a sudden giggle made your shoulders jump, alerting the two.
“what’s so funny?” niragi grumbled after a nasty remark from one of the two girls passing by. chishiya hummed, curiously staring at your smiling face.
your fingers twirled the thin black straw inside the glass. “nothing,” you began, unable to hide the grin that kept growing. “i can just kind of imagine why people are reacting like this.”
the weight of niragi’s arm suddenly left and you turned to find his bewildered face inches away from yours. if you were absolutely anybody else, he would have punched the grin off of your face. “huh?”
“the two who can’t agree on the color of the sky dating the same woman. and she’s actually aware of it.” you spread your hands out like you were revealing a billboard. amused, you directed your eyes to chishiya, trying to get him to crack a smile. “i guess even i’m stunned that neither of you have tried to fight to the death over me. like edward and-”
“trust me, i would’ve killed him months ago if you didn’t make us play nice, doll.” niragi scoffed as he stole the glass from its place, bringing the straw to his lips and taking a lengthy sip.
“you were singing a different tune last night.” chishiya muttered as he shoved a cocky smirk into niragi’s face. the man nearly spat the drink out, slamming the cup onto the counter and choking into his free palm. you buried your flushed face into your hands, allowing the two room to glare at each other from behind your back.
nudging your elbow playfully into chishiya’s side, you shot him a flirtatious glare. he shrugged, a satisfied little smile creeping onto his lips. “he isn’t wrong, though. is he?” you fought a giggle when you faced niragi, remembering how intimate the two of them had been - with you in the middle, of course - last night.
the fire behind niragi’s scowl was fuel to your stifled giggle. yet he refused to admit it. so you gave up and pressed a kiss to his thinly pressed lips, leaning into him. he begrudgingly accepted it, instinctively reaching out to hold your waist.
“i’ll take that as a ‘no’ from you. shall we settle this in our room?” you quickly pecked chishiya on his pouting lips before hopping down from the bar stool and bounding happily out of the bar.
“what happened to her being our bitch?” niragi asked aloud, glancing at chishiya. the blonde laughed and shook his head.
“dunno. but in about an hour, neither of us will really care, will we?” it was enough to stir niragi from his seat, the two quickly following after you. it would be a good afternoon.
